Story Summary:
In ages past men lived simpler lives - they would hunt, farm, fight and always respect the might of the Old Gods. Shamans led the clans with their elemental magic - so it was for many generations, before history was ever written down. The great hero Rog united a dozen human clans into a tribe that would form the foundation of our future Kingdom. One day Rog mysteriously vanished - then came the Great Storm - when it passed, the shamans could no longer feel the presence of the Gods and had lost the source of their magic.
The 1st Century After the Storm saw us becoming a proper civilization, beginning to accept the New Gods of the Pantheon and adopting technologies and customs from the east.
By the end of the 2nd century we were beginning to catch up to Paitras as larger wars were being fought.
The 3rd century saw the fall of Paitras and the rise of the Norse, with Roggar filling in much of the void left. By the end of the century most of Paitras had been reunited.
The 4th century saw the Pantheonic faith strengthen, defeating barbarians in both the north and south.
The 5th century started and ended with devastating plagues. 409-411 saw Roggar engaged in wars with itself and its neighbours, which ended in the foundation of the Holy Pantheonic Empire and an ensuing Golden Age for decades.
In 508, still recovering from the last plague, we embarked on the Ashlands Crusade against the demons, led by the enigmatic Master. We don't know what happened there as a massive explosion wiped out all who could bear witness. In 521 the Holy Pantheonic Empire embarked on an invasion of the Kingdom of Ezirin - in the chaotic wars that followed in the next few years our forces were battered, our homelands invaded by foreigners and the very ground shattered. With the destruction of many intellectuall centers, a struggling economy and an uncertain Setyrias, scholars have said that we are now in a Dark Age. Decades of slow recovery and the establishment of feudalism have followed - most recently we led the Second Northern Crusade, which ended with the defeat of the Ice Titan Frostfang and the dispersment of his armies - our own crusade force was battered, a mere shell of what it was at the start, and has now returned, in the fifth month of the year - Ezdarin.

Faction: Stormbeast House
The Stormbeast house are a cadet brach of the Dragonfist Dynasty (originally the Mutt Clan), they used to be a band of goblins and humans raised on the the streets of Dragon's Tomb that turned into farmers thanks to Mutt Dragonfist. The Mutt, an urchin turned soldier managed to kill a dragon with one punch allowing his clan and his dynasty to be respected among the Roggarians. The Stormbeast Family isn't the richest nor the most powerful but they still are respected after all this years due the continuous effort of many members of the family: They produce tons of food due thanks to their priestly hunters, farmers and tamers; Muttville, the Fortress island is still an essential river port of Roggar and all the temples that exist around in their feudal lands make their land a place that all adherents to the pantheon need to visit at least once in their lifetime. The last Dragonking of the Family was one of the last pure blooded heirs to Mutt the first and with his death the cadet branch the Stormbeasts took over the feudal lands.

While the Crusade was away in the North, on the homefront troubles have been brewing. Cultural tensions across Roggar have led to many clashes between norse refugees and natives - in particular, in Southwest Roggar, where locals have organized into "Militias" and have attacked norse villages. In the last year these clashes have also spewed into the southern halfling lands - reportedly, Roggarians have been crossing the border illegally and assaulting the norsemen there. There is unrest in many places.

After a lengthy military adventure in the north Commodus, the High Councilor, finally returns to his homestead of Foothold. There he quickly organizes a grand feast in his own honor and orders free wine to be distributed to the common people. Shrunken heads of trolls are displayed at all gates and tales of courage and heroism are shared.

Commodus also announces his decision to formally take a wife that can bear him proper legitimate children. Children that can care on his heroic legacy! No more will dusty old men discuss and debate every minor issue without daring to act. Shock and confusion accompanied with drunken cheers from Commodus’ cronies result.

Unbeknownst to Commodus however, a plot upon his life is already underway. For many months the diehards amongst the Councilors have been plotting the death of the usurper and the restoration of the proper state of affairs.
(High good for the plotters, low good for Commodus)

We've invesed in peaceful economic development, starting from agriculture, for the rest of the year.
A situation has arisen - Roggarian militias that were attacking norsemen in both our lands and the southern halfling territories have been arrested by the halflings and upon thorough investigation they have confessed to have been encouraged by the Duke of Virinum to "Get these stinking snowplowers off our lands".
"The fact that a Roggarian militia entered halfling territory and commited numerous crimes against the population has not gone unnoticed. We demand recompensation for the damages suffered and a guarantee that such injustice will not occur again" the halfling diplomat has told the House of Lords
What should we do about this matter? Lathlas Pallida, the Duke of Virinum, is accused by his neighbours of hateful crimes.

The plot was a failure, a traitorous maidservant sold out her master in return for promises of gold, silk and luxury as Commodus favored concubine.
Luckily the plotters were alerted to the betrayal in time, allowing them to either escape across river to seek asylum in Trusted Defense or honorably commit suicide before Commodus’ thugs could drag them to the dungeons.
Apparently, the gods have decreed that the usurper shall continue to reign. Many questions why the gods hate the people so deeply.

Glorious news!
Commodus Neru, High Councillor, has entered into sacred marriage with the gorgeous Laren Pallida, the daughter of the Duke of Virinum. All within his domain is requested to celebrate and make merry upon pain of death.
Commodus gives his darling a tour of his various estates, takes her hunting, treats her to all the various dishes his chefs can cook up, introduces her to varying games of “bully the Councilors” & “beat the orphans” and makes his collection of concubines kiss her feet for all to see.

A grand feast is held with all the lords of the realm invited.
A magnificent bride price is naturally paid to the father of the bride.
The young lady, less than half his age, is showered with jewelry, gold, sapphires, rubies, expensive silks and all the attention money can buy. Commodus’ accountants all cry themselves to sleep knowing that there’s no way this can end well.

Shock! Commodus has been arrested by the fiendish agents of the Trusted Advisor. A plot to forcibly reunify the two organizations?
Without waiting for the details on when the trial will be or what charges the rest of the Councilors quickly get to work electing a leader that will hopefully not be an insane tyrant:

1. Some saint who honestly believes in virtue and morality, hates violence
2. A dick, kindness is for the weak
3. More forward thinking, not as strict about sages & doctrine
4. Strict and conservative
5. Former soldier who joined the Councilors, as much a soldier as a scholar
6. Weakling, only there due to nepotism
7. The son of the former Councilor
8. Something unusual: Wonderchild-scholar, woman-scholar or WEWUZ advisors n’ sheeit.
9. Some heretic, secretly studies sorcery and all
10. “The way of the sages is a philosophy of peace. Death to all who say otherwise!”

In the elections the overwhelming majority of the Councilors vote for the most hardline candidate available. After being under the rule of a heretic they all agree that they must return to the pure way of the ancients.

The following day armed soldiers and mobs of civilians storm all of Commodus’ estates, intent upon retribution.
All his cronies and collaborators are rounded up and thrown from the tallest buildings to be found, hundreds are defenestrated before sunset. They are then thrown in the bog.
The maidservant that betrayed the plotters is beaten severely and made to confess, then she is forced to ride the wooden horse around the city before she is defenestrated and thrown in the bog.
All his possessions are forcibly confiscated and sold. The money is either used for downpayment on the humongous debts acquired by Commodus or given to the poor. What cannot be sold is either burned or thrown in the bog. Nothing shall remain.
The entire clan of Commodus is ordered slain. Most of his concubines and bastard children are defenestrated and deposited in the bog, only a few manage to seek shelter in monasteries where they’re safe by sacred law.
His young wife is ordered locked in the deepest dungeon of Foothold as there is a chance she might be pregnant with the child of the beast. All her possessions are confiscated and sold.

The Councilor demands that the apostate known as the Trusted Advisor hand over Commodus so he can be tried in court, defenestrated and thrown in the bog.

Emperor Godric has taken the island of Gotegisol, west of Landbreig, into his posession, citing that it was ruled by his predecessors in the past for a period.

I fear this may be my final year of life, but nonetheless, let us proceed. The past two decades have focused upon efforts to improve Starling and expand across the river, particularly in terms of the raw materials we can produce. I should hope this includes more farms and potentially a mine if we should be so lucky - I have spent much time away from home conducting my business, so I am unsure of how well our efforts went as of yet.

As for my council project, regardless of if I should pass this coming year or not, I intend to put into motion a set of plans that involve establishing a team of experts who... how shall I phrase it... MANIPULATE the less tight aspects of empire law to trim our spending wherever possible. I call them "Law-years", for the time they have spent studying our codes of law.

With the changing nature of society maintaining a good militia is paramount. The Councilors will ensure that the common people within their domain receive military training beyond that of the common militia. Also all village leaders will be given a cache of weapons (pikes and crossbows mostly) to be kept in the village hall and be given training in strategy and tactics as taught in the scriptures of the ancient masters.
Intense work is also carried out to ensure that the loyalty of the militia is primarily to the Councilor himself, not to the kingdom.

Laren Pallida, daughter of the Duke of Virinum and the wife of the recently deceased Commodus Neru, was not found pregnant with the child of the beast.
However, after a lengthy and throughout investigation she confessed to having given her virginity to him BEFORE the wedding proper, having consumed meat and wine within the obligatory three-year mourning period after her husband’s death, not covering up properly as a married woman should and to having partaken in unspeakably vile activities with her former husband and his concubines.
As punishment for such depraved degeneracy she is stripped, whipped, paraded around the city on a wooden horse and defenestrated. She is then returned to her family for a proper burial.

Improving upon older galley designs, we've incorporated ideas from various other ship types into creating a superior kind of vessel - the dromon. With triangular sails, rows of oars, two quarter rudders and a hull that is both stronger and more flexible, the ship has speed, maneuvarability and strength that makes it a jack-of-all-trades. In testing the new type of hull we've found that ramming attacks against it tend to be ineffective, unless performed by a much larger vessel. Truly, this is the warship of the future! We've built several light dromon protypes.

Batahmas - on the Godsday of the week before the last every year, in Kovinar, families gather to feast and exchange gifts. Children who've been naughty get pranked - Batahl switches their present with one of Kovag's little pieces of coal.

The Emperor now reaching his 30 birthday figure it was time to settle down, he was done going after the easy prey, and wanted some kids of his own to teach and foster what it means to be a Godric.

He began his search but it look like the search find him, after signing and using some of the tax money from the empire to relocation the Norse, the Imperial Palace was filled with the brim with the old Norse nobles all wanting to press there claim and rule the Principalities up Norse.

The Emperor made a list of potential rulers for the North. That were loyal to the Pantheon faith and the Empire as a whole. They were called up and the Emperor personally meet with them. So months later after getting the list down he got people for 4 Principalities. This was when the Emperor had the pleasure of meeting her. She was able to stir something in him, the Emperor knew he had to get with Magertha.

So the counting began and in the year of 562 they got married. Now the 31 year old Emperor married the 24 year old Magertha, sister to the of Groenkostaag's Prince. It a wedding fit for a Emperor the kings came and it was a loving time.

In the late months of the year, a heavy snow fell down on Lakton. The harvest over, serfs attended to their families and merrymaking. However, in the field outside of Lakton, a battle was to commence. A battle of snowballs. The veterans of 3rd and 2nd legion met, keeping good on their promise of fight after the war. They construct crude snow fortifications, and prepare for the onslaught

After 5 days of pure snow filled Armageddon, the 2nd began to show weakness. In the cloak of darkness, Bereg and a vanguard of 3rd flanked the 2nd's fortifications and broke down their wall, before raining in a hail of white. Exhausted( and suffering from extreme PTSD), they admitted defeat and turned over the prize, 1 full chest of gold. In it, a note stood. It said, "Aalid is better than Malte :D"

Great success, you've streamlined the production of the new ships, the dromons, even developing the idea for a Naval Arsenal in your two port cities, though it is still at the idea phase.

>>906597
District built, production begins
Your missionaries are persecuted by the Draconic cult.

The drums of war sound once more across Setyrias - the orcs of Geramakh have invaded the Dark Elf Principality of Aeldabad, the Southsea Alliance has broken apart and there's word that the High Elves , Dwarves and Paitrans attacked the Pirate Alliance of Alar-Hicham, taking that city. The Centaur Kingdom is still shying away from joining the HPE and the Roggarian Crown still has a lot of Marks in debt owed to the Halflings, while the epidemic of dire beasts plague the southern part of our Kingdom, disrupting the economy.

"Remember when the old priest told us about our salvation, how we will wash ourselves of our sins and lead a new life. We promised each other that we will all come back home alive and well, a-and now i am the only one left...."

We let the economy develop peacefully for the next two years. We've finally paid out the old wartime debt we had, whose interest rates were frozen and we're now paying down our more recent loans to the halflings.
The climate is warming up, gradually. Smoke leaf is once again being cultivated in Green Haven, for instance.

Recent surveys of the earth, conducted with the help of the Temples of Kovag, have unearthed numerous valuable deposits! Silver near Azkerryth, iron near Vaesdeman and the most valuable, a magic metal we'd only heard about from the dwarves - Mountain-copper, orichalcum, near Revna. Rumours are that this ore is used for the creation of Purebronze, one of the most valuable exports of Kragnaal.

Economic conditions have been good in this year.

By Kovag's hand, within a year of hard labour, the priests of the temples in nearby Poruan and Astrakhan worked with our scholars and smiths and at last, our labours are complete! By combining orichalcum and tin in a particular ratio in a high-temperature furnace - something which few places in Roggar can support and even then through some magical help - skilled smiths can craft purebronze! A reliable metal, it may be weaker than milthril, bu the process of producing and working it is within the grasp of our smiths now, whereas working with milthril hasn't produced alloys of the quality which the norse used to make back in the Draconic days. Orichalcum is plentiful, as is tin - purebronze is a great balance between magical properties, physical strength and price, now available on the Roggarian market!

In the cold winds of early Gyolan, a young man prays in the temple to Charodei built in Thornebush. Exiting the temple, he makes a stop upon a cliff overlooking the sea, one where the bodies of late Hawthornes are buried.

"Father, your legacy does not die with you. Strength through honor, honor through battle, and through battle, peace."

Walking away, the adolescent draws Gae Bolga, and runs off to the training grounds. He cannot stand idle.

Later that evening he is honored as the new Lord of Thornebush, Cúchulainn Hawthorne, first of his name.

Gae Bolga, of course, is not a traditional blade by any means. Crafted of a galentine core and demon alloy from the blades of Kogal and the Hawthorne founder Rowan, its hilt is made from purebronze, and is ingraved with the Hawthorne crest. It is enchanted with flame magic, causing it to glow nearly golden when wielded properly.

Henceforth I, Jacob Lectre, shall be taking control of all assets that were previously owned by the old man. I assume I get his council position as well? In regards to the Wolf problem that has been plaguing Roggar for some time, I have encouraged some Guardsmen to band together hunt down these wolves and fortify the settlements in the afflicted areas. A bounty has also been set for capture/death of these wolves. If these Wolves are have an intelligence similar to that of a human, then I encourage to come peacefully. No harm will be done to you and yours if you do so, on my honor. (OOC I don't know if they are or not, but it doesn't hurt to try and rationalize with them.)

We reach the harbor of Gaerelios in Ezdarin of 568 , where we have several choices of ship:

A.Pictured, "The Old Greatwood" - used to be a flagship of the high elven fleet centuries ago and has undergone numerous renovations. A high-end vessel with room for massive amounts of cargo and passengers, travelers who are willing to pay for it get to enjoy high-quality cabins, comfort, security and a good view.
B.A newer, smaller version of that vessel, also a luxury transport ship
C.A medium-class merchant vessel with room for passengers and decent quarters, affordable prices

The Captain of the vessel and her crew turned out to be ex-navy veterans, skilled in the magic of Gyolas and naval fighting - the ship lacks any special weapons, but each of them was equal to a demon pirate. Some passangers who participated in the fighting perished - the demons were tough indeed, but seeing themselves outnumbered by the passengers and outclassed by the crew of the ship they thought would be easy prey, they soon fled.

You approach the captain, who's just leaving her cabin, catching a glimpse of several naked figures inside. Asking her about the pirates, she replies that this is their last months of activity - the High Elf navy and army have been conducting attacks against their bases which have been effective and those demons who haven't been killed or forced into hiding are still trying to sow terror and raid shipping lanes. Indeed, Emperor Rabolep was captured by demon pirates during one such trip to the capital decades ago - one of the main reasons for the elves to finally organize a major crackdown now. The demon pirates have been a scourge on the ocean for centuries, but their time is at an end, she says.

It's the 4th of Stomnis, beautiful weather this morning. You approach the greatest city in the world, a true megapolis, the elven capital. The ship will drop anchor at Golden Harbor.
Now, some info on the city
The City is located on the delta of a major river that flows into the ocean. The climate is temperate and continental, pleasantly familiar to you Roggarians.
The capital is split into three cities:
The largest in size and population is Golden City, which has the sea coast away from the river.Golden City contains markets, craftsmen, entertainment areas and the largest harbor
On the river banks there's Temple City
It contains, as you can probably guess, Temples, schools, academies, advanced magic stuff and nice gardens.
On the islands in the river and just a bit off the coast is Crown City - that's where the richest elves live. It's home to administrative centers, including the Roggarian Embassy. All the islands are reachable by boat or bridge, except the Palace Isle - It can only be reached by boat.
The Roggarian Embassy is on one of the other isles.
So, here you are at Golden Harbor North
The Emperor arrived yesterday and is somewhere in the city now.

You saw a demonstration in the marketplace - members of the high elf military displaying one of their latest weapons of war to the public - a great flying beast from the mountains of this continent, the griffon - after centuries of efforts, the Church of Ezdar has tamed the griffons and bred them in a way suited for riding into war! The rider displays impressive maneuvers as the officers on the marketplace explain to the citizens how this will make the Dominion invincible.
Griffons are not commercially available, being reserved for use by the military at present, though rumours are going around the marketplace that in the next century or so(which, for a high elf is equivilent to a human decade) they might become available as very pricey luxury mounts.

Meanwhile thousands of miles away:

The Trusted Councilor and his accomplices are hard at work making Foothold and Freehold into models of true virtuous societies, as the ancients intended. The teachings and scriptures of the Sages are to be rigidly enforced according to the written word, at sword point if needed.

One example is the enforcement of headscarves and veils, after all the venerated sage Turon Sharan did say “And I say to thee, a woman that does not wear the scarf and the veil when outside the doors of her domicile is not to be considered modest and must be thrown from the tallest building that can be found within the walls of the settlement before sunset the very same day.”
Clear enough, enforcing modesty is vital to combating degeneracy.

Unfortunately, this reform quickly encountered several obstacles.
For starters, at no point did the sage Sharan specify any details on the covering to be used, a detail quickly noticed by the common folk. Heavily embroidered scarves and see through veils quickly becomes the latest fashion, causing much headache for the morality patrols as there's nothing modest about silk and decorations.
Also, the specification on the defenestration taking place within the settlement poses quite a challenge in Freehold where there's no building taller than two storeys. Efforts to collect money for a more suitable tower are undertaken but does not yield satisfactory results.

While the work is underway it seems reforming society will take quite a bit more time and energy than anticipated.

Crown City, located on the islands of the river delta, is the home of the ruling elite of the High Elf Dominion. Military ships guard its entry points while luxury barges sail in the interior, between island filled with great mansions and palaces. On one of the larger islands is the Roggarian Embassy, along with the embassies of other Pantheonic nations. On the streets one can see brooms sweeping the ground on their own, without anyone holding them. Beautifully dressed lords and ladies take strolls in the parks, while elite guards keep the peace - not that there's much to disturb it.

I have a new faction I like to present. Its from outside the kingdom

The Black Legion

Number 500 total

Faction Leader- Gene "Death's Touch" Derelicta

Story on leader- Born a bastard child between a village beauty, and a high ranking noble lord in a far off kingdom.
Most of his years are clad in mystery, telling only his origins to a few. Living a normal life until the age of 4 his father allowed him, and his mother to live on one of his estates until assassins working for enemies of his father targeted him, and his mother, him being the only survivor. It would later be found out that it was organized by his father’s wife who had learned he planned to leave her, and make him the legitimate heir. Working with his father’s enemies she had the entire servant staff killed him, and his mother being able to escape immediate death by pure luck. It is said that his mother was able to channel the god Domna, at this time being able to run 3 miles straight while carrying him, until she was cut down giving time for him to run. Facing death the assassins were eliminated by a lone warrior who only by random events was camping out nearby. This warrior took him in as his apprentice, and trained him in all forms of martial skills.
These years are unknown to everyone, but Gene himself who remerged in society over a decade later making a name for himself as a mercenary who quickly gained famed. It is said however that he travelled far, and wide with his teacher. He gained the name “Death’s Touch” when it was said he was left for dead on a battlefield where the image of the god Mor appeared to him offering him life, and power to win if he became a champion of the death god. Accepting the deal it was said that he had become death incarnate on the battlefield seemingly being able to kill enemies by his touch alone like death itself. By the day’s end he had killed 50 of the enemy.

Taking a position unknowingly in the kingdom where his own father he was a high ranking noble he given permission to form his own unit which would become known as Beacon’s Dawn numbering 5 thousand at their max. They would be known for their exploits in being made up of the most elite warriors, and being able to change the tide of battle in an instance. Each warrior is veteran of countless battles trained with all weapons at a master level.
Their downfall was when the King began to worry that the Beacon’s Dawn had become too popular, and that the people would back Gene if he ever wanted to rule. Deciding not to take the chance the King decided to purge them. Out of their original 5k only 500 were able to escape. Changing their name, they eventually made it to the Kingdom of Roggar where they offer to join them in the war efforts in exchange for citizenship, land of their own, ability of free enterprise, and chance at revenge

We contact the Embassy and get an invitation to visit Palace Isle - a large luxury barge takes us across the water to the isle, where the Great Palace Complex stands.
Guards carefully search our party for weapons and take them away for safekeeping as we enter the Palace - it is beautifully decorated, with gold and crystals, statues, paintings, mosaics - an entire wing is dedicated to art displays, in fact. Proceeding forward, we enter the large Audience Hall - two thrones sit at the top of a flight of stairs, equal in size to each other. There sit the young(by elven standarts, having recently ascended to the throne) King Terruil and Queen Anweig. Aside from guards, there are also various nobles and priests in the Hall.

I have come to inform you of the Knights of Juras and their holy mission to defend the pantheonic nations from the evil that exists in this world.
I would ask of you a boon and offer you a gift, the Knights have lost their holy blade to the vile Zhong whom to this day plot to invade our great nations. I have learned from traders that the sword rests as a mere trophy in the Imperial palace.
It is my wish to save it from this vile desecration and return it to it's rightful place beside the Knights, in this I humbly beg for your help.

I would like to personal thank you for answering my call to arms against the frozen North. And I too mourn for the losses on the 2nd Northern Crusade, many of Roggar's men and Elves died on that day.

I wish I could thanked the Archpriestess, so saved me twice on the battlefield but I never once got her name. I would have dead 2 times over if it wasn't for her and your will of helping us at a time of need. And for that I thank you.

A wedding you say? I would love to come, actually I would like to help you plan it out too. :^)
>>
Sometime earlier that year...

As the morning dew settled on the grass across from the keep at Thornebush, no pedestrians trod the grounds. In fact, they were barred all entry from the grounds that morning - no one quite knew what was going on. That is, no one but Lord Hawthorne and his sister, Persephone.

The Lord's voice echoed loudly across the courtyard. "You are to be trained by the Duke of Virinium until such time as I see fit to permit you back on these grounds." His sharp eyes softened, looking upon her visage. "My sister, I am sorry, but this must be done - desecrating Charodei at a feast in front of other nobles is not becoming of a Hawthorne. Now go."

Those last words hung in the air for a moment, until the silence was broken by the trotting of horses. These guards, Persephone knew, were coming to take her away, towards the Duke's holdings not far from there. Unlike her brother, there were no tears in her eyes, just a resentful glare that would not look out of place fit upon the face of one party involved in a blood feud. As she walked away, she muttered, "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." Turning her eyes skyward, she attempted to appear distant to the guards, as if she regretted her actions. She did not, but she knew in time that she would make her brother regret his.

The wedding was a small affair, held in one of the smaller Temples in the city. It was agreed by both parties that it should be kept intimate, with only the immediate friends and family involved. The Emperor Rolf Godric II standing in as best man, the two were wed at sunset, were both the sun and the stars could see this union of two lovebirds, underneath the caring eyes of the New Gods. With this marriage, two noble houses became one, and a cheer rose up from the small crowd of elves and humans alike. Tis a glorious day to be alive.

A decree to all good countrymen of Roggar - the Whitevaynes are not to be trusted. This has been known since time immemorial. Necromancy and treachery, ice dragons and autism, all trademarks of this family. But most shocking to me is the bullshittery pulled with Madrid...

Madrid belonged to the Inquisitors, but when my ancestor, Finn Hawthorne, investigated the death of the Ashwoods, he found that group to be behind it. The High Inquisitors were not the vassals of the Whitevaynes - it was never mentioned in court UNTIL they ceded Madrid to my predecessor and the predecessor of the current Lord of Hist.

Barnaby, damnable as he was, gave up that land naively, not knowing that the Whitevaynes had no claim to that land. These snaketongued fucks will no longer own that city come five years' time, I am sure of that. The only thing as known as the Whitevaynes' treachery is that you NEVER, EVER, betray a Hawthorne.

This is no declaration of war yet, but if that land is not handed over by 573 I will have no choice but to declare war and take this matter into my own hands.

*This message was sent to every Duke, Count, and Lord within the Kingdom of Roggar.*
>>
Cry HAVOC! and let slip the dogs of war. My friends, allies, countrymen, I encourage you not to let this trickery stand. I am not the only one who has been bamboozled by these duplicitous wretches, and if this continues I doubt I will be the last.

Look at the War Council, forced to forfeit house and home. Look at the town of Bullcoast, taken from its original owner... I pray that you all rise up and join me. In the name of Juras and all the other Gods of the Pantheon, this. must. not. stand.

I will be raising my forces in preparation for the likely event that he does not give up his hold on Madrid. I encourage you to do the same.

*This message was sent to every potential ally of the Hawthornes, including the Emperor himself.*

An act of open rebellion would be a crime against the law as well as heaven itself.
I would recommend you both act according to the decrees of the ancients, seek mediation before destruction.
You both have a common liege, his Imperial Majesty, and can thus turn to him for private mediation.
As he is the supreme servant of the divine order upon this earth you can safely rely on him passing a fair verdict upon the both of you.

We've invested in the restoration of MAGA, an academy to which students from across Roggar and beyond can apply to advance their magical understanding.

International news have been interesting - it apppears the Pantheonic orcs of Geramakh finally paid for all the enemies they'd made over the years. The dark elves they were invading routed them in the field and allied with the dwarves they'd subjugated - the dwarves stole the great Sentinel Prime and repurposed him for the use of Aeldabad, while Geramakh's other neighbours - the Zhongi, centaurs, Ezirin and even the Drezvak lizardmen - invaded from all sides. The orcish hegemony in that region has been utterly broken.

In other news, Emperor Godric finally had a son in the year 572! As a gift for his newborn, the Halfling King Lehvar Ondalan forgave the remainder of Roggar's debts(which we would've paid off by 576 at current rates).

We've increased our standing forces to 10 Legions. The latest international news are that the high elves, Paitrans, dwarves and several city-states on the desert coast have declared war on Hasgaldam, whose territory has been expanding in recent decades. The human Kingdom of Akeshisu has been annexed by the Sea Elf Pirate King as well.

The High Elves are doing great in their war so far, it seems. Some Roggarian factions have sent mercenaries to help fight against Hasgaldam, which has lost most of its outer territories.

You've cleared more land for farming and have begun to intensely mine the volcanic area for copper/zinc and sulphur, bringing you plenty of profit.

We reach the capital, Mirxav. The harbor district is well ordered and foreign vessels are docked here - from various lizard nations, from sea elven states and even one high elven ship. A peculiar lack of vessels from Zhongian - the captain of the ship we travelled alongside explains that Drezvak and Zhongian have embargoed each other due to territorial disputes that occured last year - odd, given that both are states that would gladly use force to press their case.

A bar fight started with the coming of the Roggarian expedition into a dockside tavern.

As bottles are smashed across faces, worried men start flooding in - members of the expedition who were staying outside. They report that several hundred armored soldiers have surrounded the area, everyone in our expedition(aside from those staying on the ships) is inside the encirclement.
As the bar fight slowly dies down and we wonder what's going on, a large lazdverk is shouting out something. One of our expedition members who knows the language translates:
"Foreigners, peacebreakers, you are under arrest for inciting violence! Surrend quietly or we will use force to subdue you!"

Under heavy guard, those not left to confinement are led to the King, Rixishavar II. Communication occurs through translators.
"You've been causing trouble in my city, I have been informed, but it seems you are supposedly here on a diplomatic mission from the north. Speak."
>>
>>913475
"If they are treated fine, I accept. Again, I am deeply sorry that this has happened."
>>
>>913498
Some of us are here to spread the pantheonic faith, will you allow us to do so?

>>
>>913517
Aye, what he said.
>>
>>913495
Thankfully the guards don't know your language, otherwise they'd be scheduling a date for you to be hanged right now for attempting to bribe an official.

>>913513

"You may not.In the name of diplomatic relations I will refrain from having you thrown back in prison this time."
>>913517
>>913519
"If you wish to establish an embassy, we can move forward on that. Matters on which bilateral agreements must be reached are the rights of your citizens on our soil. You may not engage in trade of goods without a seal of mercantile approval, you may not proseletyze your foreign faiths or attempt to settle your people here without approval or to try to make denizens of our Kingdom leave without our approval."
>>
>>913555
I find those terms to be acceptable, would you perhaps be interested in jointly attacking the Zhong at some point in the future?

Faction Project;Using the Sea Elf Schematics I legally bought from a 3rd party, i wish to begin work on a new type of ship, which I've taken to calling Korova. These ships will be built in the essence of a goblin; Expendable, easy to build, and fast. I want certain attachments to ease boarding actions and mayhaps superior sails? Also, if possible, I want these ships to be able to sail the high waters (which Is why I'm basing it off sea elf designs. I suspect progress to be slow, so if i roll low its fine.

Twenty years for some damn workers to sort things out and report the results to me... I had HOPED these gnomish serfs would speed things up, but of course, they just compain. I should hope someone around here has good news on how our latest expansion of Starling went; any mines, new crops, long forgotten burial grounds of an ancient people, SOMETHING other than "we cleaned up and made some more houses, sire".

Ugh... since no one has informed me otherwise, I will assume that the duties of Steward fall to me after the passing of my father. I suppose that "Law-years" concept of his needs finishing... yes, someone go take care of that. Try to ensure they are Lectre men if possible, i'd hate to see the idiot nobles here make use of them to exploit each other rather than the rich foreigners.
