You are currently 2 hired mercenaries that were given the task to locate and deal with a rogue soldier that had gone AWOL about 2 months ago in this area. Intel has confirmed that he has taken over a few tribal settlements and formed a makeshift fortress deep in the forest.

As you emerge from a hastily built shack to shelter you from the sudden storm, you realise that you can actually see more than 5 feet in front of you now.

Pedro, the guide who offered to take you through the thick Amazon rainforest, comes out of the shack behind you and gestures to follow him now that the rain has stopped.

What do you do?

Intel:
Mission Target - Stop the rogue soldier, "Franco", from having any more influence on the local tribes and causing disruption for greater plans.

Tribes - So far Franco has managed to capture and convert 3 tribes. Each of them has wildly different cultures and customs so it is incredible how Franco managed to get them all to co-operate with each other.

Use any means necessary to stop Franco.

A figure comes through the leaves holding up his arms as a sign of peace.
Don explains who he is and that he has also been sent to help with the mission by the same contractor.

Any more intel on what these tribes consist of?
>>
>>901994
That's all the information you have, although Pedro has told you that he knows the location of one of the tribes' settlements.
>>
>>901999
Allright.

Let's head towards one of the tribes to scout out, and see if we can do some diplomacy.
>>
Oh hey, I happen to have a few years of innawoods experience. Any limits on the loadout, carry weight, etc.?
I have like 15 unused loadouts.
>>
i say we head to the one of the tribes stealthily to scout them first

You'll probably have to reroll, but anything you can carry in your bag slots and pockets should be fine.
Unless I say it's not really realistic.

All will be decided with 1d100. DC will be decided before the roll. (I'll tell you what it is)

You follow Pedro into the forest.
It takes quite a long time as none of you have very good equipment to cut down the branches and leaves blocking your path.
Pedro, starts rambling on about something in spanish but even if some of you knew the language he'd just sound incoherent, as if he'd had too much to drink.
You stop by a river that is flowing through the jungle to rest after a good 4 hours of travel.
>>
>>902065
Check on Pedro, I'll be damned if out guide caught some weird jungle shit.
>>
>>902075
I'll give about 15 mins for everyone to decide what they each want to do, although you can all do more than one thing at them moment.
You've not encountered anything yet.

Don goes to check on Pedro.
He's sitting on the riverbed, reading a small book that could easily fit in a pocket. He seems to be lost in his book.
Don tries to get his attention and it takes him several attempts but he finally responds.

"Hey, Pedro. Are you feeling okay?"
"Si... si... I reading... book! Relaxing very much."
"What's it about?"
"Gods of... selva... forest-rain."

He goes back to reading his book, he seems quite content. Maybe it's just the language barrier that's making him seem weird.

After Pedro feels like he's read enough of his book about some rainforest gods or whatever it was he said, he stands up and tells everyone it's time to move on.

"How long until we get to the settlement?" Cammy asks, not very happy that all the insects seem to be focused on attacking him rather than the rest of the party.
"Not long... one hour, most..."
"Oh really?" Don asks skepticly, not entirely convinced that their guide was all right in the head.

The party continues trekking for about 2 hours until they finally hear some noise coming from not too far away in the distance...

What do you do?
>>
>>902289
Ready gun, quietly walk over to look at the source of noise.

It's rapidly gotten dark since you left the riverbed.
Noises of drums and people clapping their hands surround the vicinity.
You stay concealed behind some very large ferns and other foliage and observe the gathering.

The settlement is in a clearing with 5-6 huts built around a very large campfire in a horseshoe shape.
The other side of the small tribal village has a few tents placed here and there, in no particular formation.
The tents are too far away from the fire to see clearly but you can make out the shape of boxes scattered about the tents.

What do you do?
>>
>>902399
Walk towards the tents, making sure I'm unseen, prepare my c4 brick to detonate within 2 hours. Place it within the boxes hidden. Attempt to leave unseen.
>>
don i think we should look through the boxes first to see what's there
>>
>>902447
I see your point, but I like blowing things up is always the safest option.

Here's the first of the dice rolls:

Don: 2d100
DC-Stealth: 25 / DC-C4: 30

Cammy: 1d100
DC-Stealth: 25

The tribesmen are busy celebrating, they are unlikely to notice you.
Don feels that detonating the C4 is pretty self explanatory but he's not done it before.

You guys are fucking useless...

As you make your way to the tents, your heavy all-terrain mercenary boots crush the fallen twigs and roots.

One or two of the tribesmen who were not really interested in participating feel something is wrong about what is going on.
Their suspicions are confirmed when a tall tower of boxes crashes down around the tents and they hear a voice from the darkness exlaim "OH SHIT RUN!"

A couple of seconds later, the tents are blasted sky-high and a raging inferno that outclasses the campfire 500 times over rages over the settlement.

Don and Cammy managed to get behind some very large trees milliseconds before the explosion...
However Pedro was not so lucky and was too busy thinking about his book to notice Don's shout and was trapped in the scorching flames of the explosion.

What the actual fuck do you do?
>>
>>902611
Quietly walk away in the opposite direction we came from, pull out my camera, try to act like a lost tourist.
>>
>>902617
Survivors of the blast (who are quite severely singed) don't buy it for one second and notice you instantly.
They quickly scramble to get their guns out.
Some of the tribesmen are really short, it seems that those are actually children.
>>
i spray bullets at the tribe and kick the little ones that i miss

Don takes a few hits but amazingly, every single bullet fired hits.
He takes down 4 of the tribesmen and incapacitates another.
The tribesman is no longer able to fight.

What do you do?
>>
>>902846
Start looting the tribesmen of their guns and ammo. Finnish off that one tribesman. Damn good shots hit me well, but Kevlar saves the day.
>>
begin to use my needle and thread to sew up my wounds
>>
>>902854
You don't find much, they were using some really DIY pistols and so none of the ammo they were using will work with your guns.
In fact, the bullets could explode at any moment.

What you do find are:
2 Machetes
1 Small Med Pack

You even find a singed book that may have belonged to Pedro.

Decide who gets what and we'll leave it there for today.
Nice work guys.
>>
one machete each, can i have the book?
>>
>>902888
I'll take a machete and leave the medkit for Cammy.
So I strike off the camera and c4 brick and include the machete then?
>>
>>902907
Yep, it would also be ever so convenient if you could update your characters and post inventory images.

We'll pick it up again at some point in the near future, maybe leave steam profiles so I can tell you when we're likely to start again?

[red]In the meantime, if there are any players that want to join in, there's a free character in the rolling thread or you can roll your own[/red] >>901448

I have no idea where Charles went so if you can't be bothered to roll, use that and claim by using a tripcode.

Don
>Used a C4 brick

As they look over the carnage that they had caused to this poor tribe, Cammy and Don hear the crunching of heavy all terrain mercenary boots on fallen twigs and roots.
They aim their guns at the person who appears through the dense trees.
The man holds his hands up and introduces himself as Gaz.
He says he saw the explosion from his makeshift camp a hundred feet away and wanted to congratulate whoever blew the tribe up.
He says that he was waiting for the tribesmen to go to sleep before dealing with the settlement himself. It seems that Don and Cammy beat him to it.

They start to get into a somewhat heated argument, over who wanted to do what thing where.
It starts to get a bit more confusing until Don gets everyone to shut the fuck up and asks his burning question.

"Why the fuck are you here, Gaz?"

Give us a cheeky backstory.

Gaz gnarls his crooked yellow teeth and gnashes at Don. After a while the futility dawns upon him and he finally lowers his shotgun and sighs.

"Egh. Fuck it. My mate who got lost in these woods a while back. He took somethin' important for me and I want it back. I was trackin' these lot until you cunts blew em up."
>>
"What did he take"
>>
>>908718
For one reason or another, Gaz suddenly seems to be distracted by something, a passing thought or something in the middle-distance perhaps.
Cammy tries to ask again but before he finishes, Gaz grabs his own throat and starts foaming at the mouth.

"I knew someone, somewhere was gonna catch some weird jungle shit!" Don exclaims.

What do you do?
>>
Currently busy, sadly can't join atm.
>>
Gaz falls to the ground and flails helplessly.
