The Gnomes are a proud people, inventing many of the technologies used by the empires of today. The Tinker's guild of the dwarven mountains wanted to get rid of some misfits in their ranks and sent them to start a branch in Roggar. Due to the tendency of Roggar to explode into civil war, they are considered expendable by the guild and are not expected to return.

Story Summary:
In ages past men lived simpler lives - they would hunt, farm, fight and always respect the might of the Old Gods. Shamans led the clans with their elemental magic - so it was for many generations, before history was ever written down. The great hero Rog united a dozen human clans into a tribe that would form the foundation of our future Kingdom. One day Rog mysteriously vanished - then came the Great Storm - when it passed, the shamans could no longer feel the presence of the Gods and had lost the source of their magic.
The 1st Century After the Storm saw us becoming a proper civilization, beginning to accept the New Gods of the Pantheon and adopting technologies and customs from the east.
By the end of the 2nd century we were beginning to catch up to Paitras as larger wars were being fought.
The 3rd century saw the fall of Paitras and the rise of the Norse, with Roggar filling in much of the void left. By the end of the century most of Paitras had been reunited.
The 4th century saw the Pantheonic faith strengthen, defeating barbarians in both the north and south.
The 5th century started and ended with devastating plagues. 409-411 saw Roggar engaged in wars with itself and its neighbours, which ended in the foundation of the Holy Pantheonic Empire and an ensuing Golden Age for decades.
In 508, still recovering from the last plague, we embarked on the Ashlands Crusade against the demons, led by the enigmatic Master. We don't know what happened there as a massive explosion wiped out all who could bear witness. In 521 the Holy Pantheonic Empire embarked on an invasion of the Kingdom of Ezirin - in the chaotic wars that followed in the next few years our forces were battered, our homelands invaded by foreigners and the very ground shattered. With the destruction of many intellectuall centers, a struggling economy and an uncertain Setyrias, scholars have said that we are now in a Dark Age.

Faction: Stormbeast House
The Stormbeast house are a cadet brach of the Dragonfist Dynasty (originally the Mutt Clan), they used to be a band of goblins and humans raised on the the streets of Dragon's Tomb that turned into farmers thanks to Mutt Dragonfist. The Mutt, an urchin turned soldier managed to kill a dragon with one punch allowing his clan and his dynasty to be respected among the Roggarians. The Stormbeast Family isn't the richest nor the most powerful but they still are respected after all this years due the continuous effort of many members of the family: They produce tons of food due thanks to their priestly hunters, farmers and tamers; Muttville, the Fortress island is still an essential river port of Roggar and all the temples that exist around in their feudal lands make their land a place that all adherents to the pantheon need to visit at least once in their lifetime. The last Dragonking of the Family was one of the last pure blooded heirs to Mutt the first and with his death the cadet branch the Stormbeasts took over the feudal lands.

The Plague and the subsequent Zhongian-Paitran war for Roggar affected the lives of many, among whom were the Lectre family. A set of nobles from Dragonstomb with a slightly sketchy background and somewhat... peculiar tastes, their businesses fell apart piece by piece as the Zhongian army occupied the city. Eventually, they paid to be smuggled from the city and fled, walking for miles before stumbling on the charred ruins of Riverhugger. Settling down for the night, they realised this was to be their new home. Not knowing the old name of the village, they gave it their own: Starling.

Having built up their new home successfully (as well as surviving an ecounter with a being of the Vast), William Lectre passed away peacefully at home, secure in the knowledge that the future was bright.

One of his sons, Chilton, ruled the town in his place and made efforts to connect with the elite of Roggar. In addition, thanks to talks with a centaur clan based within the kingdom, the Lectre family now owns the only public carriage business around.

Of course, things never stay so good for long. One of Chilton's sons, Anthony, spent years as a mere troublemaker, getting drunk and harassing people. After one particular journey, he returned home speaking of strange places and sights, telling his father all he knew. The next night, he tried to take the life of his brother, Mikkel.

Mikkel, enraged by the assault in the presence of his wife Runhild of Erden, brutally killed Anthony for the attack and disposed of the corpse. He himself disappeared after insulting the pantheon at a celebration hosted by the emperor.

His son, Dancy, lead in his place. He built up even more connections and businesses than before, finding success as his grandfather did. His brother, Faison, fought honorbaly for many years in the Ezirin and Zhongian conflicts under the rule of King Erden, though he died after being outraged by the unforseen return of the one and only William Lectre, now a demon.

Year 538

Earthen elementals from Father-Mountain came to help us make new paths through the blocked Ogre Pass. The volcano of Great Nest has died down and the surface in that region is now safe to walk upon and we've built roads there - we've also rebuil the House of Lords in Dragonstomb and can soon begin work on a new royal palace, for which I will consult with the current King on how he'd like it to be.
My keyboard just died so I need to get some batteries.

The Kingdom of Roggar stretches over a massive territory and managing it is hard. A proposed military-administrative reform would deepen the feudal system and allow better management of our lands.
Instituting the feudal system would also mean some rulers who are currently Lords would get recognized as Dukes.
Please carefuly consider the options

1.Giving out land to lower-ranked nobles/knights
A.Keep the land in the hands of private business owners and major rulers(Current way)
B.Give out land to lower-ranked nobles(NPC barons based in castles/forts)
C.Give out land to knights and lower-ranked nobles(Villages/hamlets/forts to knights, castles/towns to barons)
2.Feudal dependence
A.Higher-up lords can micromanage what their vassals do(probably less efficient and reduced relations with them, but you have more control)
B.The vassals do their own thing but provide the lord with some taxes in return for autonomy
C.Vassals are fairly autonomous, collecting local taxes in order to improve their own household - building a castle, training local troops and acquiring quality equipment
D.I don't really care about this
3.Taxation(aka theft) - this one applies to everything
A.We all abide by the same taxes, you collect 10% from your vassal+ the various additional Royal taxes as far down as the pyramid goes
B.Aside from the base tax one may levy additional taxes from his own vassals as they see fit
C.Other
4.The peasantry
A.Keep the current laws - no man may be forced into servitude by another
B.Allow indentured servitude/serfdom - reinforces the feudal hierarchy and gives the nobles more control over the people - the villagers won't be able to just leave their land for instance. Most peasants would gladly trade the sense of freedom for a sense of security. The richer peasants and the city folks can be freefolk, of course.

Let it be known that in 538 the Feudal Law has been agreed upon. This is NOT forced upon the lords of the realm - if you want you can keep your lands to yourself with no knights or serfs. To those who choose the feudal way remember that it is a two-way road - the suzerain gives privileges to his vassals in return for service. Breaking the Feudal Contract is a great crime.
News has come of the south - the Zhongi war has ended with a new Imperial Dynasty, the Qai, coming to power. Islands, riches and trade priviledges were conceded to the Southsea Alliance. Zhongian is now exhausted and battered, but at peace.

A month named after each God with the exception of Batahl, The Trickster, patron of the Holidays and festivities spread out across the year.

One of the recently popularised holidays is Batahmas - on the Godsday of the week before the last every year, in Kovinar, families gather to feast and exchange gifts. Children who've been naughty get pranked - Batahl switches their present with one of Kovag's little pieces of coal.

Year 540 - make project rolls if you didn't make any rolls for 520, since this is for the same time period. In 560 you'll do rolls for what you did in 540-560 so you should start planning your agenda for the next 20 years NOW. If you roll in 560 for something that only came up in the last year it wouldn't make much sense - what have your people been doing all the other years?

You've set up smooth mining opperations at the copper/zinc mine and cleared some of the outer ashland for farming - the soil is very fertile!

Across Roggar we invest in agricultural development. The economic situation is getting more stable as we are now paying down our debt to the halflings.

We've learned that the King of Anglanorse has been slain in battle, his armies shattered and his realm at the brink of collapse as the hordes of Frost flow southward.

We've decided that COUNCIL PROJECTS should be done for the future, so Councilors should do a roll and say what they'll do for 540-560

As the Royal Steward it is my duty to provide for the needs of the King and his court.

I will hereby use royal funds to produce the greatest vessel ever seen in Roggarian waters, a vessel worthy of our king. While I would love to name it after myself I'm much too modest, only our king will make that decision.
It will be huge, HUGE, capable of taking the entire court together with hundreds of servants, maids and guards on lengthy voyages around the oceans. It will be amazing.
There we will indulge in all our desires, see the world and strike all inferior foreigners with awe.

It appears that debt is one of the major concerns of the populace as of late, so I suppose I must use my many years of business expertise to bring glorious profits back to Roggar's coffers. We will be negotiating new deals with our alliance partners to both optimise our existing trade and hopefully add in several new routes; of course, Lectre Transport as well as Lectre Smithing would take great pride in part of said deals.

After their trip my agents seemlingly returned with this information

It's a Theocratic Imperium serving Wave. Wave keeps it pretty freely open to others, with two other titans of water allowed, sans pantheon worshipers, but it's also pretty clear that she uses her position to keep herself popular. She's willing to share a home, and a token portion of her followers, but wants to centralize power in herself. The population is Sea Elf, some descendants of the Humans who followed her, and some sea creatures she's attracted. The culture and economy emphasizes craftsmanship and trade, gathering raw materials from afar, refining them, and reselling them. The kingdom is at war with the Selavan(sp?), and seems to be winning albeit slowly, as Wave is aiming to avoid excessive bloodshed, but the Pantheon's devout worshipers are resisting fiercely.

Carthic was surveying the coasts of Roggar to find a site to build REDACTED while he was in Castile, he noticed strange rumors of the city's founding. A little bit of detective work and he found something. The documents of one, Sofia, who lost a case centuries ago and was sentenced to death. But the historical value wasn't the gem of the pile. It was a list of Heretics that inquisitors has to be carful of. Carthic came out of that room a changed man, and made haste back to victory.

We didn't manage to make them work together - the norse are flooding southwards, sacking towns and villages, while the Paitran King has given the order for the invaders to be killed on sight, but is having trouble as his own army is largely made of norsemen

While we ponder this matter, King Hademar Erden has passed away quietly in his sleep.
It is the month Abadid of 550 and we must choose a new King to sit upon the throne(A large chair decorated with a few jewels inside the House of Lords - King Hademar did not wish to waste money on building a new Palace).

Commodus Neru
45
Human
Some military & administrative experience
Bigger army, less regulations and laws.

Fellow roggarians. You all know me, I am Commodus, I am the greatest.
I am a man of great learning, as is natural for the leader of the Trusted Councilors, the number 1 scholarly faction in this realm. I am a great military commander, during the war against the barbarians I was famed as the Number 1 Contributor. I am a man of bold and decisive leadership, when peasants refused to take up arms against the zhongs I personally lead my men to raze their hamlets and nail all traitors to crosses. I am loved by all. And those who do not love me live in awestruck respect of my accomplishments.
If you make me king I will make us great again! Too long have meaningless laws and regulations held us back!
You hate paying taxes that goes towards funding orphanages? I’m with you! What do we need orphans for anyway? Or taxes for schools? We don’t need those! Peasants should know their place, not learning spelling. If you put me in charge I’ll slash taxes all over the place. All of them! The only taxes needed during my reign will be those that go towards funding our legions and maintaining a suitably lavish court where we can all indulge together.
No longer will lawmakers decide how you run your life. No longer! Laws are the tools of the weak!
You want to go raiding into our neighbor’s territory? Go ahead! Our enemies should fear us, not believe they’re protected by outdated treaties!
Want to make a captive bought from zhong your concubine but the law won’t let you? Not anymore! What a man does to a woman in the privacy of his own chambers is only his business!
Want to put rioting peasants on fire but the law won’t let you? I’ll take care of that, I’ll take away all their rights!
Make me our king! I will be the greatest, handsomest, most reforming king you’ll ever had!

In the year 549, the current Ogrelord, the 2-headed shaman, Zugotaar decided to retire despite being in relatively good health for his age. In light of the recent depletion of the fighting age male population, an election instead of the usual tournament was announced to determine the next Ogrelord, the winner of which was Boban a distant but direct descendant of Dreck, the first Ogrelord. Boban is half Storm-Giant and as a result of this he is both the largest and smartest citizen of Ogrestan, and is a renowned military strategist.

The gnomes are able to come and form a auxiliary legion. Since they are gnomes they will help build siege machines and help with repairs. But war is a dangerous business so just don't do anything that can threaten the war plan. To ensure your and everyone safety you will be co-lead be a trusted vassal of the kingdom. Trusted Adviser follow the command and listen to Trusted common sense and you may survive the war.

Mate I worded it like this so you don't see the front lines, the siege machines could broke down while moving, and we need the small hands to work with the finer parts of the machines. Trusted is there to make sure none of the gnomes are harmed, so you both make the choices, and Trusted been known to be a nice guy so he will most likely give fatherly tips.

Our army arrives outside Gregariapol - 38 250 Roggarian troops. It is Stomnis, 550.

The Royal Forces of Paitras hold the line at Dominas, Ezgielath and Traegar. Fearing an invasion from Ezirin, the southern lords refuse to send more than a token amount of forces to help the King.
What should we do?
>>
>>897076
Head to the frontier and handle the 2 larger armies just north of Dominas(?)

For my faction turn I am going to expand Barnabus' Rest to accommodate it's trade and growing population. I also want to build a fortress to the south of it named "Petter's Revenge".
>>
In neutral ground between the two armies, the commanders meet.
The Norse demand that they be given the lands they currently occupy as living space and that we aid them against the trolls.
The Paitrans would not want any territorial concessions and indeed would want to take revenge by taking the North for themselves, to civilize it.

What will we propose?
>>
>>897131
>>897131
Disregard this, I've just been informed of the new rules.
>>
>>897136
The Norsemen are going to be ressetled around the Empire(mainly in Paitras). They will recongnise the authority of the Emperor and Paitran King, they will adopt our rules and customs but in return they shall receve protection There will be combined efforts against the trolls
>>
>>897147
Doubt that they would give up the independence and culture so easily
>>
>>897147
>>897136
Point out that the Ice Titans are a much bigger threat. The Norse will be under Paitran influence and protection and their main task alongside the Paitran armies would be to guard the Norse, for if the trolls breach the Landbridge we are doomed. The Norsemen will gain their lands but will recognise the authority of the Paitran King and the Emperor. Togheter we may be able to mount a proper bulwark against the Ice Titans forces.
>>
>>897147
>>897151
Both of these sound good.
>>
>>897147
>>897136
The problem is the Norse are really prideful, and the Partias don't like the Norse.

Be sure to point that the Ice Titans is making everything cold, so we don't stop them they will keep moving south and our crops will fail.
>>
>>897151
>>897147
>>897136
Also, the norse refuuges will be settled around the Empire so that the burden on Paitras won't be too heavy.
>>
>>897147
>>897151
>>897158
>>897161
Also remind them that the troll hordes have begun to build ships to get around the landbridge meaning no where will be safe if we dont put up a united defense.

While the norse seem happy with this agreement, the Paitrans are insulted
"You would give lands and priviledges to these SAVAGES?! They sacked our capital, slaughtered countless of our people, have been ungrateful and traitorous at every turn of the opportunities we gave them! They can live as serfs under us maybe - if you are so intent on giving them status you can make take them yourself, see how you like it!"
A silver tongue alone might not be enough to convince them, repeating the things we've said so far won't work.

Why am I not surprised that Paitras of all places cannot see what is obvious even to the people of Roggar? Put aside what issues you have had with the norse people in the past and attempt to comprehend the bigger issue that faces us all now. If the North should fall, there will be dire consequences for every one of us, your pathetic squabbles be damned.

I appreciate you may not enjoy the prospect of working alongside the men whose blades were stained with your blood, but would you rather fall to these supposed "ice titans" and "trolls" that will come when they are finished with the norsemen? Business first - personal issues second.

Go back to war with them when we are done with this for all I care, but do not damn your """all-mighty""" pantheonic empire allies with your foolishness.

The following solution is proposed:

>Paitras takes a small amount in their northeast
>Halflings take some amount
>Roggar takes the bulk(1115 k ) and will be distributed across the Kingdom

Now comes the question of Landbreig
A.Propose that Roggar should have it again - we will have to shoulder the defense against the trolls, but it'll also mean more space for the norse to settle
B.Create an autonomous Norse Principate that is part of the Empire, but not of Kingly rank

Apparently your education is lacking lord Waldemar, the Gunnarsons are a family of much renown and glory.

As I see it this should not pose much of a problem. The Gunnarson clan is of Norse blood and will surely take their natural place as rulers among these unorganized hordes.

Indeed I can, it was the first Councilor himself. In the Battle of the Gray Cliffs, the year 462.
With only the vanguard at his disposal he slew more than 12'000 norsemen.
As he was about to score a grand victory his fellow Roggarians refused to give chase to the routing norsemen, citing fears of being ambushed. Had they not done so the war would have been settled that day, so write the chronicles of the Trusted Councilors.

We've set up the Northern Principality as a special zone of the Empire.

The process of settling the norsemen hasn't been too light on us - building houses is perhaps the easiest part. A lot of commoners are unhappy and there've been hostilities and clashes. Furthermore, the cost of it all has forced us to take a new loan from the halflings - the last thing we ever did that involved Emperor Rabolep Ondalan, as he has passed away in 552.

The priests have determined that the next Contest will be decided by...mutual agreement.

The candidates:
>Rolf Godric II of Roggar,23
>Teophis Ezgielan of Paitras, 36
>Zakov Kragnan of Kragnaal, 39
>Lehvar Ondalan of the Halflings, 34

Negotiations will be held between the candidates and they will decide who among them shall sit on the Throne.
The 1st stage of the Process includes every candidate arguing for their case:
Teophis argues that he is experienced and competent in both administration and military matters and will ruthlessly deal with our enemies. Zakov argues for the development of trade and economic power. Lehvar is also experienced in administration, trade and finances and has great ideas for revitalizing the Empire.
King of Roggar, make the case for why you should be Emperor.

A peace treaty until the end of the century has been signed.

Everyone has said their general talk, but now we get to the real business, the backroom talks, so to speak.
Phase 2 of negotiations - individual promises
Paitras promises us that they'll be steadfast allies and defenders of human interest and will make the Empire's militaries strong again. They promise to lead a great crusade to destroy Frostfangs and say they will share the spoils - including territories - with Roggar - the Principality of Landbreig in its entirety and from there on a 50:50 split, most likely.

Kragnaal promises to reduce the Imperial Treasury tax to 5% and aid development in advanced scientific fields for the rest of the Empire.

The halfling King promises to forgive all debts we currently owe him and to institute financial reforms - a unified currency and financial institutions across the Empire - from which he says all will profit. The Roggarian Mark would be the basis of this currency.
Now King Godric should make some deals with the other Kingdoms if he wants to secure their support as well - he can either post those in thread or send them to me privately.

Lords of Roggar - your vote itself won't determine the decision made, since it will be up to the Kings themselves, but as observers - how do you feel of the Contest as it is? State your opinion, as it can be informative for the King.

What do we need a plan for?
We take as many legions we can fit in our boats and sail straight towards them. The rest can march along the landbridge.
If they try to counter one of our armies we'll attack them in the rear with other army. Multiple, simultaneous and devastating, defensive counterattacks. The ancient sages called this the Iron Rain-stratagem.
Then we smash them in a massive pincer attack with our two hosts. Back before breakfast.

I shall go the centaurs and compell the join in this most holy Crusade. They will be fighting for all the pantheon against the heretical savage beasts in the north, The Emperor himself has agreed to support any territorial claims the centaurs have while also extending his hand in friendship through his statement that he will help defend them from any and all invaders in the future.
He also extends the hand to the centaurs to join the HPE at long last and join their pantheonic brothers as equals. However this is not a necessary requirement of this deal.

The Emperor has convinced the High Elves to aid us in this crusade, while the Trusted Adviser has gotten the Centaurs to also agree to send aid. His words were so impressive that the centaurs have said they would even consider joining the HPE after the war.

For years there has been whispers among the peasantry of various local lords about those strange Monks of Juras and their practices.
What kind of Monk needs armour?
What Kind of Priest oils a sword?
And what kind of a Bishop can call down Lightning?
Today those questions were answered, the banner of the Knights of Juras flies again. The order is reborn.

We sent our warfleet out ahead to secure the coasts for our transports - the lone survivor who reported back was mad, saying that Frostfangs himself was waiting for them and froze the sea itself and crushed all of our warships. Our transports were able to avert course in time and go back to our shores - reinforcements will have to go through the Landbridge or the eastern sea entirely, it seems.

Well, the main bulk of our forces crossed the Landbridge at least. Allied fleets in the east took out the enemy's vessels there and troops have disembarked.
It is Ezdarin of 557.
Roggar has 75k troops north of Landbreig. Where should we go and what should our allies do?

The arrival of reinforcements - heavy infantry, archers and earthen elementals - along with the collapse of the enemy's leadership - led to a total victory on the 3rd day of the battle of Ozlakmar fields. By the weeks end the city was secured and an estimated over 400k trolls have been slaughtered so far, but our own losses are close to 100k.

This will be a long and hard campaign. Our first major victory was not at a low cost, but it gives hope. The High Elf Archpriestess of Drana is present in this campaign, come all the wya from the Homeland - she has summoned forth the Godess' own miracles to heal many injured and maimed soldiers, including restoring the Emperor's health sans his right arm.
It will be a grueling Crusade, but we must fight until we reach Final Victory! That, Gods willing, will be tomorrow, as it is getting too late for me now.
Aside from discord, I am also found on https://twitter.com/conannister. See you in about 17 hours.

Divana passed, filled with skirmishes and battles. We held our positions firmly and pushed the trolls back at every turn. The elves had it toughest, left alone to protect the east, but they managed, even with the smallest-sized army among us.
The crusade suffered roughly 23k losses while the trolls took a heavy toll, close to 380k.

What next? It is still winter.

The west and east held out well, but Roggar, holding around Fort Verigal, took some heavy losses and had to abandon the fort when powerful spells froze it. The central defense line is now exposed as we've had to pull our remaining 60k men into Ozlakmar, many of whom are in bad shape.
It's early Abadid now - the path from Ozlakmar to Fort Ondalan is cut off as the enemy holds Fort Verigal. In the east we have 17k High Elves and 28k Dwarves, in Ozlakmar Roggar has 60k men, according to the latest reports from the west the Halflings have 22k, the Centaurs have 9k, the Paitrans have 45k.

A wall of ice was erected, spanning from the frozen Fort to the lake on one side and into the northern forest on the other. The enemy is masking their movements - it is the 15th of Abadid, snows still cover the ground, but our forces are mostly ready for battle now. We've had no word from the west. In the east the small hordes have advanced to the river and are engaging in short battles and skirmishes with the dwarves and elves.

A.Hold positions
B.Go across the wall from the north(forest)
C.Go across the wall from the south(frozen lake)
D.Call for backup from the elves and dwarves and go to Fort Ondalan
E.Send scouts and await news

It is the 28th of Abadid, evening. Our army is camped between the two major forts. Scouts have given us a report of the situation - our allies are still holding out, entrenched, in the fort. Frostfangs leads a host of several hundred thousand trolls and giants.
Tomorrow we'll reach the front. We've been marching at our fastest possible speed through the snow and ice, spirits high, but bodies strained.
Tomorrow many will meet their deaths - soldiers and officers alike. Use this evening to rest, drink, eat and plan[/b].
The cooks are distributing dinner across the camp.
Do interactions freely, roll only if you're doing something with a variable - no need to roll for eating soup and hardtack.

Men many of you are far from you home, you are tired and cold from the frigid North. Some of you were hurt or maimed in the fighting as was I. But that didn't lower my spirit to fight. I know I haven't always gotten along with all of you, at occasion I might even have been the one to blame for such unfortunate misfortunes. But, having fought together with you all for so long against such a fierce foe I've gradually come to hold a certain respect you all.
Perhaps,... in another life, we might have been friends.

These are unfamiliar emotions to me... I'm not sure if I enjoy them. And my eyes seem to be leaking water....

Bah! How about we gather up all the available alchohol in camp? And all the meat! And perhaps even some maidens can be discovered among the camp followers?

A night's sleep, the last slumber for many before the eternal one.
Horns are sounded before the sun's even fully risen.
"Get up, boys, it's time for war!" One last, hurried breakfast and we're off - trudging through the snow, we approach the enemy lines. In the distance is the shape of Fort Ondala, wood, stone and earthen ramparts covered with snow. It is surrounded by a great host of trolls, led by giants, commanding all of them is a figure we see even from this distance - a great being of ice, towering above all else.

347vs158
The full power of the Roggarian army is unleashed! Our heavy cavalry, the knights, each a bastion of strength in his own right, charge true as the infantry follow in, tearing the ranks of the trolls apart. Lances pierce the bodies of giants, bringing them down - we are in our element, truly!

"Forth, Riders of Roggar! Knights of Valour, foes of Evil, Juras stands beside us!" The Emperor extends his only hand, his left, upwards and feels power flowing - his sword catches flame, yet his hand feels find - the Sword of Justice, granted to him by Juras for this battle! He leads the charge of the heavy cavalry into the enemy's lines with great valour, worthy of a Knight.
Ophelia Hawthorne rides alongside him - deep in the fray, her horse is slain and she is alone, but she fights with great spirit. She sees as a massive frost giant, his head adorned by a crown approaches her and mumbles something under her breath. Several knights try to take the giant down, but his size is great, his armor tough and his mace heavy - many fall before him until he stands before one defiant woman
"No man can stand against me! Fall before Frostfang's right hand, Zamrohk!" He swings his mace down - into an illusion. A woman jumps upon his arm and runs along it, reaching his face and stabbing him between the eyes
"I am no man" Says Ophelia Hawthorne.

Our army is in the thick of enemy lines, but it is looking like we are merely beign absorbed into an ocean of bodies - no matter how many we kill, there's more coming. From the east horns are sounded - our allies are here! The elves and dwarves have come at last!

The trolls fall by the tens, nay the hundreds of thousands! Their lines are breaking and the defenders of the Fort are sallying out! Even the clouds break and the sun shines - but only briefly. A great rumble is heard and the earth briefly shakes. The trolls and giants stand to attention, their previous cowardice suddenly turning to fierce determination. Frostfangs, the titan, is moving towards us, ready to join the fray. He is throwing it all at us, just as we are doing to him.

Among the ranks of the High Elves, only a few had survived the blast - those strongest of the magicians, sages and priests with centuries of wisdom and experince. Seeing the devastation around them, determination gripped their hearts. Their time had come as well. A great invocation, led by the Archpriestess of Drana, allowed many of the frozen elves to be unthawed and healed. The priestess also unfroze Emperor Rolf Godric, saving his life for the second time. This powerful magic was noticed by the Frost Titan, who turned his gaze towards the elves....

Hope returns to our ranks, men! The Emperor is alive, but unconsciouss - those that remain must keep on fighting - the ranks of the trolls are thinning out, we need to put an end to these foes in the name of the Pantheon!

He enlisted as a random, nameless rank and file soldier in the army and here he was.

Bereg landed on the ground safely. The sword in his hand had shattered into tiny pieces, the Roggarian steel unable to withstand the power of the magic it bore.
A wide field of corpses as far as the eye could see. No more snow was falling, only the light of the moon and stars illuminating the fields. The largest of the corpses was that of Frostfangs, the Ice Titan, now perished. Those trolls and giants who had not been killed were fleeing into the north. Bereg walked towards what he could see as a lone Roggarian banner waving in the distance. Men flocked to him, cheering him, in awe of what they'd seen occur. The Champion of Fort Ondala, the Avatar of the Gods, the simple farmboy, aged 26, was the greatest hero of this crusade. When he came back to camp, it was a desolate place - of the entire crusade army from all the kingdoms, about a thousand Roggarians and about that many others all in all had survived. None of his friends from Rizon were alive beside him, none of the Avatars either. With each passing minute he could feal the power within him weakening. By the end of the week, from the power that the Gods had given him only one ninth would remain.
The Battle of Fort Ondala...is won. It is the 30th of Abadid, the sun dawns once again.

Boru sat down. His body was weak and Armour rent. He had lost his lance many charges before, his hammer had finally exploded on the face of a great Ice Giant lord and his sword had shattered in a trolls skull. His horse had collapsed hours ago and his plate had been ripped off yet he fought on with Knife and a makeshift shield made out of discarded armor.

Now the battle was over and he sat atop a fallen catapult as he smoked his pipe. All in all only 77 of his lads made it through it. But they made it through it all the same. Currently they were marching among the dying and slicing the throats of any still alive trolls or Giants.
Boru sits up and ordering a number of nearby men, he demands they detach the ice titans head, least a foul necromancer have any ideas.

Boru himself walks to the emperor and places himself as guard over him. Victory and Justice has been done.
