This is Boruto Quest, a quest set in the universe of Naruto. It is during the generation of Naruto's son after everyone has graduated from their Genin exam. I haven't kept up with the series beyond the end of the original one, so this one is intended to recapture the feel of that time of Naruto. I will not be incorporating the main show or the Boruto movie's plot into the quest, although some recognizable characters will be present. You play as a 12 year old Chunin named Takeshi. You have been assigned a Jounin squad leader named Hanto, and your two squadmates are Kichiro, a young delinquent, and Ai, a strange social outcast of a girl. You are of average skill in most aspects, although your sharp intelligence, and your jack of trades skill set have brought you far. You have just recently graduated to a Chunin after winning the final tournament. You've been regularly completing missions as a Chunin, and making progress in training.

Oh shit you're back
>>
You wipe your forehead, cleaning some of the sweat, blood, and grime. The most that you can do for yourself at the moment is take a few deep breaths. Despite your dry lips and battered body, the soldier pill you've taken gives you the extra chakra you need to keep fighting. You go through the handsigns to remove the poison from Kayo's system. Now you have time to use water from your canteen as a medium to draw the poison, so the process is much smoother.

Kayo is resting flat on her back, as you draw the poison through the puncture wound left by a senbon. Her small dog Akahiko is nuzzled against her midsection. You've really got no idea if this dog can actually understand people, but you try to comfort it a little bit regardless. Or rather, maybe you're comforting yourself.

"Don't worry boy, she's fine. Just scratches..I've gotta get back to the others though. You're gonna stay here and look after her.."

You stand up once you're done, and splash some water against your face as you step through the crumbling doorway and out into the muddy street.

Down the road lies a seemingly insurmountable challenge. A resurrected Jounin, and several cultist warriors that are all immortal.

How do you intend to approach?

>A. Use the Haze Clone Jutsu, and run in under cover of the crowd.

You slink up to the scene as quick as you can while still being quiet. Moving from building corner to building corner, you can hear the sounds of the fighting in the distance as frenzied as ever. By your count, it's a four on four match now. The main issue is that Asuma, as a resurrection, isn't ever going to run out of stamina or chakra. Short of a specially prepared seal, or defeating the summoner, there's no way to stop him.

Mirai's going to be able to hold him off for now, but how long? You round another corner and see more or less what you were expecting. Mirai is still trying to keep Asuma at bay. They travel around the outskirts of the battlefield at high speed, a dancing flurry of wind and blades. You could honestly get lost watching Asuma's incredibly slick movements, narrowly dodging sword stroke after sword stroke to close in for attack. She doesn't seem injured, but her stamina must be wearing thin.

In the center of the battlefield, an equally hopeless scene is taking place. Himawari and Shinji stand back to back, as their three opponents circle them like wolves. Shozuku, Tomiko, and Asuka. You note that much of Asuka's hair has been seared off the side of her head, along with a gruesome burn down the neck. Despite this she seems unfazed. Shozuku has blood leaking from his mouth, and the skin on his forearms and knuckles has been partially torn on the surface layers. Most likely from running into Himawari's rotation. In addition he has numerous kunai sticking out of his back.

If you had to guess, he does all this dramatic nonsense in order to intimidate his foes. Even now they're not going for the kill. They're slowly stalking in a circle, taking pot shots and wearing down your friends. Shinji is limping on one leg, and his bugs seem able to keep the three at a distance. Himawari is constantly using her footwork to rotate and intercept the odd senbon or kunai, thrown at her weakened ally. Tomiko and Shozuku are both laughing, while Asuka simply watches with a blank stare. You don't really know much about the dark skinned girl from the cloud, but she seems totally broken.

The situation is dire to say the least.

>A. Walk out and challenge Shozuku to a one on one fight.
>B. Use the False Sound Jutsu. Tell her you'll distract Asuma if she attacks Tomiko.
>C. Use the False Sound Jutsu. Ask Himawari and Shinji to make a run for it, and you'll act as a distraction. You may be able to use the abandoned town as cover.

Your brow furrows. There's only one move you know that could hit everyone here at once, and possibly shift the tide. Yet again you're thankful to Shikamaru for teaching you this jutsu. You kneel down and place the needles into the mud, and start to feed chakra to them through the strings.

Asuka suddenly rushes in, and goes to slash at Shinji's back. Himawari delicately spins around and throws her kunai, sticking it directly in her foes chest. The immortal cloud shinobi doesn't stop, and Shinji thrusts his hand forward. Insects on the ground slither up and wrap around her ankle, suddenly holding the foe in place. Himawari takes another step, twisting her heel and kicking off of the ground to suddenly rush forward. There's an explosion of chakra at her heel, which enhances her speed a bit.

Her palm strikes Asuka's jaw as she's thrown off balance. Shooting her backwards. Tomiko throws a handful of poisoned senbon at Himawari's back, but without looking she steps to the side and spins around again. Shinji smirks. "Most of my insects may have been destroyed at this point, but just a handful can still be a problem.."

They're sapping Asuka's chakra rapidly. Even if you're immortal, you still only have a limited pool of energy.

Your jutsu completes just as another explosion shakes the ground. Mira and Asuma, presumably. Once the noise settles, you yank the bells gently. A clear ringing soars across the battlefield, freezing all those you wish in place momentarily. You can't quite see everyone's faces, but you can easily imagine the same look of surprise that you've seen many times.

They must know where you are now. However, they'll be disoriented whenever they look at you thanks to your jutsu.

You waste no time. This might be your only chance now that you've given away your presence. Rushing out from behind the corner, you dash forward as fast as you can. The world around you blurs as you grip your wakizashi's handle and prepare to draw. Shozuku is clearly in your sights, and frozen. His back is turned to you, stuck looking at Himawari and Shinji. Time feels as if it starts to slow down as your adrenaline pushes your focus to the next level. The reverberations of each step put you closer towards him. Drawing your curved blade out just as you start to reach him, it seems to be a sure fire kill.

A blur invades your altered perception. Suddenly things return to normal. Asuka, using a Shunshin, dashed forward from her position on the ground and tackled Shozuku's back. Using her momentum she turns, and switches her place for his. He's thrown to the ground back first, and the numerous weapons are pressed deeper into his wounds. He rolls over and starts coughing blood, clearly in terrible pain.

Your sword strike slices Asuka's jugular, and she falls to the ground. At first she attempts to stand, but a combination of exhaustion and severe wounds make her collapse then and there. You have no idea if she's alive.

Looking over you can see Himawari leap forward to strike Tomiko in the stomach with her palm just as she starts to move again. She's sent flying backwards, away from the group.

Looking back down, Shozuku is starting to get up again. You quickly try to draw your kunai with an explosive tag attached, desperate to finish this battle.

Before you can pull back the throw, he slings a kunai that had been stuck in his back. It knocks the tagged weapon out of your hand, and Shozuku chuckles. He seems completely oblivious to the fact that his team mate might be dead.

"So, are you finally going to stop running away and fight me?"

>A. Yes. Shinji and Himawari should be able to handle Tomiko now.
>B. No. Throw down a smoke bomb.

doesn't the bell jutsu also make people slow or something afterwards? I remember it had some sort of secondary effect
>>
>>886853
It's basically clones and seeing double, triple, etc., but pain still negates most genjutsus
>>
>>886853
The secondary effect is that he sees illusory clones surrounding you. The fault to this is that they all mimic what you do. They're mostly a distraction and meant to mess with his spacing on attacks.

You cock your eyebrow. "No way! You're nuts. You throw down a smoke bomb between the two of you, and use the Haze Clone Jutsu. From now on you're going to have to be mindful of your chakra. The extra reserves from the soldier pill only have so much of an effect. You believe it's worth it though. You shroud the whole area with copies of yourself and draw an explosive tag, heading to the back of the crowd.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyr5YTd_8i8&spfreload=1

As you jump back and out of the smoke, a long slender dragon composed of water bursts through as well. It doesn't seem intent on targeting you specifically. You keep backing away, but the splash forces you to leap high into the air to avoid being burned. Getting the acid on your body would be a seriously painful way to go down. Every time you dodge one of these your nerves wear thin that a single fleck of the liquid could completely blind one of your eyes. You leap over the puddle and through the smoke to the front of your clones. The scene as you come through shakes you to your core.

Shinji is sprawled on his back, several feet back. His nose is bloody red and crunched, likely from a boot to the face that he couldn't dodge. Himawari has a number of senbon sticking out of her side, presumably poisoned. In the far distance Tomiko is struggling to stand, but still alive. You note that she turns and exits, having done her duty.

Shozuku rushes forward once she's hit, and drives an elbow into her solar plexus. The wind whooshes out of her chest as her frail form is lifted off the ground and sent flying.

Your enemy clenches his fist as he stands straight again. The bones creak and pop. They've probably been broken many times.

He turns around, and slowly starts to draw his katana. You look around for Mirai in a panic, but see that she's still engaged with Asuma. A single arm is limp as she fends him off through dodging and weaving. By now she's more of a distraction. Once Mirai goes down..

Fear strikes you. She's not going down, you tell yourself.

What are you going to do?

>A. Draw your Wakizashi and charge him down. If you can keep him busy, Himawari and Shini might be able to escape. They didn't take fatal hits.
>B. Throw your explosive tag at Shozuku's feet from cover.

If you had to think of a way to save everyone here..

Well, there's only one way. You draw some regular kunai and throw them in Shozuku's general direction, not really caring what the madman thought of your attack. Running away to the left, you go towards Mirai and Asuka. With a Shunshin once you reach the edge of the crowd, you dash across the muddy land to skid to a stop as the Jounin pass by you.

Your explosive tagged kunai is gripped tightly in your hand. You jump forward again, having difficulty keeping up with you. Inside you hope that Shozuku still thinks you're inside the crowd of clones. Using your high dashing speed, you manage to catch up to them and stop one of Asuma's trench knife punches with your kunai, interrupting the fight.

They dash apart. Asuma looks at you in clear bewilderment, as does Mirai. "What are you doing!? Go help-"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXV7YiX9LDo

"No!" you yell. "They can't defend themselves anymore. You need to get them out of here! You go!"

She looks at you, totally shocked. Asuma is also staring you down, standing straight with blank eyes. You meet his gaze with one of your own, attempting to be equally stony.

Truthfully, your hands are shaking like mad. Slowly you raise up an arm and point the kunai at Asuma.

The dead Leaf Jounin speaks, much to your surprise. "What's your name, kid?"

"I'm Takeshi. You're the sensei of one of my teachers, Shikamaru Nara.."

Asuma starts to walk forward, and you shoot a fiery look at Mirai. Despite being so young, the grime and filth of war coating you makes you look considerably older. Your wiry frame has become rigid and lean, clear cut with muscle. The look in your eyes is one of total certainty, despite the fear inside of you. It's as if the total mixture of emotions is keeping you rigid and focused. Compared to being in front of a stadium of people, this situation is almost comfortable for you.

You nudge the kunai upwards several times, urging Asuma to rush you.

Mirai looks over and sees Shozuku dashing off to attack Himawari and Shinji, now that they're open. She curses as she rushes off in a blur. "Damn you, Takeshiii!!!!"

You grin, a total bluff. Asuma kicks off in a blur, directly at you.

What are you going to do?

>A. Throw the kunai inbetween the two of you and hope to get him to back off for a moment.

You throw down a smoke bomb and hide momentarily in the clouds, but when hot ash presses against your body you leap away. An explosion rings out and consumes the smoke, blasting away the distraction as Asuma marches forward. You're too low on chakra to really be doing many Jutsu.

He suddenly dashes in directly at you, easily slipping under a senbon thrown with your free hand. You block the first jab of his knife with your kunai, and twist your body out of the way of the second. You leap down and roll, jumping back to your feet and turning just in time to block an overhand right.

This nearly knocks the knife out of your hand, but you twist with the momentum and spin all the way around. You lift up your leg in an attempt to kick out, but he easily steps in with his knee and blocks it.

His left fist comes flying towards your face. His strength is tremendous. You hold up the kunai to block, and you barely mange to deflect the blow. A cascade of sparks falls on your face as you're blasted backwards into the ground. You roll onto your feet, panting, and take your combat stance again.

You turn around and run, and throw down caltrops on the ground. He leaps over them, and you turn and jump backwards as well to put an equal amount of distance between the two of you.

He sprints in a straight line, and you throw senbon with bells and without. He cleanly weaves out of the way of each one, despite the fact that he could easily take hits like those head on. Maybe the rules of his control have a slight amount of wiggle room.

The sound of metal striking metal rings out behind you. Mirai is rapidly bringing her sword arm down on top of Shozuku, who's attempting to block. He's having difficulty with her superior speed, and the wind on her blade. Even then, much like you, he fights down to the grit. Using last second dodges and deflections to barely survive against a superior foe. The sunlight sets in the distance, highlighting the four of you in a gruesome dance contest.

You weave through the blades as Asuma rushes you. Your body is starting to fail, the pain in your side from expending your limits on physical stamina breaking through. You can't help but hesitate slightly as your kunai is knocked from your hand, and sent flying.

At the same time, Shozuku's weapon is knocked clean from his hands. He's struck in the mouth with a clean roundhouse kick, spraying a couple of teeth to the side. At once Mirai rushes and picks up Shinji and Himawari, hefting them onto her back with one in each arm.

The blade of a trench knife grazes your cheek as you turn away from it. You have no weapon.

What do you want to do?

You narrowly duck under another punch, this time getting thrown off balance due to exhaustion in your legs. As you start to fall forward, Asuma flings his knee straight up, angled at your jaw. You do the only thing that you can, and shift your body to the side to deflect some of the force. Your head is still whipped to the side completely, and as you hit the mud your vision blurs. Scrambling more on terrified instinct than any sort of rational thought, you narrowly avoid the stomp of his boot where your head had been a moment earlier.

Scooping up some mud with your hands, you fling it at his eyes and turn to run. Using what might be the very last bit of chakra you have, you dash over Shozuku's body and next to Mirai as she's running. You smile, feeling more or less home free.

Suddenly senbon assault you from the side. Hiding behind one of the houses is Tomiko, apparently completely healed. The needles sticking in your thigh cause you to fall to the ground. Your vision starts to blank out as the last resistance of your spirit breaks. The combined exhaustion of fighting from sun up to sun down, and the mental stress of having to constantly protect and your team mates have totally stopped you. The poison is more of a suggestion than anything, urging you to finally lay down and rest. Your body has no choice but to comply.

Mirai uses the Shadow Clone Jutsu, and creates a single clone that hauls you to your feet. The sounds of shouting as you're chased down by explosions, knives, and heat seem more distant than ever as the poison blurs your mind. Time distorts, and you think more people join the fight. You're roughly thrown into some sort of boat as unfamiliar voices fill the scene around you. However, if you had to guess, you would say that you're safe.

----

Hours later, you awaken inside the cabin of a ship. Your body is incredibly stiff, and covered in wounds. Your right cheek is swollen so bad you have difficulty seeing out of that eye. Slowly you creak to a sitting position. Himawari, Shinji, and Kayo are all in the room in their own corners on beds.

You tenderly touch your face, making sure all the important bits are still there. "What happened? Did reinforcements show up?"

Himawari and Shinji are both awake. You note shinji's face is covered with bandages, due to his nose. He nods, and responds in a nasally voice. "That's right. ANBU from the mist arrived and chased the cultists off. However, with Asuma-Sensei on their side, they weren't able to be captured. They managed to save all of our lives though.."

You look over at Kayo. There's a few quiet moments, and the tension forces you to speak. "Is everyone alright."

Himawari nods. "We're all alive, even if we're beaten up. The only one really injured is Mirai-Sensei. Ligaments in her arm were torn, so she's going to have a really hard time moving it for a...a while.."

The quiet girl looks down, and sighs. The four of you sit there, defeated.

Shinji picks up the beat. "We're currently docked in a town on the coast of the Land of Fire. We'll be staying here for the day to rest, and going back to the Leaf tomorrow. Though I don't think we're going to be able to really see the sights. Not that I very much feel like it."

You slump back. "Well, I guess our mission was a failure.."

Himawari pipes up. "Don't say that!! We had to fight against threats no one knew were present. We came so close in the end to beating them, I think.."

Shinji shakes his head. "It really wasn't close at all. The real success is that we all managed to escape with our lives. Let's just be thankful for that."

"So where is Mirai?" you say.

Kayo rolls over, prompted by all the talking. You notice Akahiko bundled up with her. "Mmm..local clinic. Oh! Uh, thanks for getting that poison out of me, Takeshi." She sits up, rubbing her eye. You chuckle. "Well I couldn't just leave you like that.."

Suddenly, the door is kicked open. Mirai steps in, one arm flopping about a little limply despite her cast. She's obviously incredibly fired up. She flips open a newspaper. "Look at this crap!!!"

Honestly, you're reminded of Hanto. You sit up, and your face goes white at the title of the newspaper of your country. The headline reads.

"MIST SLAUGHTERS THEIR OWN CIVILIANS: CIVIL WAR IN SIGHT"

Also I assume that shozuku isn't immortal as everyone was so defensive with him
>>
>>887459
I did since no one else did, but I fucked up and named it 53

This is why I don't do this

>>887467
You would not have been able to win, but distracting him from hurting your team mates is always good.

He is immortal though. He's just the leader. They protect him at any cost.
>>
>>887478
If we had got Shozuku out of the way earlier in the fight would they have retried?
>>
>>887408

I mean, when weren't they doing that?
>>
>>887478
Cool

All that says to me is that we have to TRAIN EVEN HARDER
>>
>>887486
Really Shozuku was intending to keep you busy enough that Tomiko could summon and sustain Asuma without much trouble. The gamble was more or less going after her and possibly winning, or protecting your team mates and trying to hold out. Shozuku was glad to engage you.

>>887491
Now, actually. This time the Jashinists are using new forms of media (you'll see a video they put out worldwide next thread) to spread misinformation. They've filmed scenes of destruction in the mist village and are claiming everyone in the village, innocent or otherwise, was murdered by the government for potentially being rebels.

In reality, rebels were planning to attack the town as a strategic point and capture it. The Jashinists disrupted their plan and killed everyone present. Then you arrived.
>>
>>887506
On a scale of 1 to Third Mizukage, how fucked is the Mist at the moment?
>>
>>887513
proper fucked
>>
>>887506
So besides the walk of shame back to the village and the mission debrief can you hint at whata next?
More Social links?
Maybe some owl training?
>>
>>887513
Literally every other village will probably come to see what's going on and possibly liberate the people from the mist oppressive government

So yeah, all their shit has been fucked
>>
>>887520
I say we put the social links to the side for now and focus on owl training
>>
>>887520
You'll have some time rest and talk to people. You'll totally be training up all the new skills you have to perfect. Owls, Chakra Scalpel, Diagnosis Pulse, and Temple of Nirvana for example.

The Jet Sheath is also nearing completion.
>>
>>887534
If Mei was such a relvolutionary reformer, why did they get rid of her in favor of Chojuro, but keep Gaara as the Kazekage?
>>
>>887567
Power. In her age she grew weaker than Chojuro, so he ended up taking over. She's the one who chose to step down, as well.

He's more or less exactly like her in terms of policy. The issue is that now that the economic boom in the rest of the world is slowing down, it's not as easy to keep a nation fed. People are mistaking hard times for incompetency after a generation of peace. The last war was so bad that it was supposed to end all wars and troubles. People feel entitled to peace and comfort in this day and age.

Though on it's own nothing would have come from this but grumbling. The jashinists are pushing the envelope into civil war.

Mirai explains the situation in a little more depth. The cultist's intervention wasn't aimed at anyone actually there, but instead to ensure there would be no survivors aside from military resources. They'd be able to flee quite easily, and the blame would get shifted towards the government in the Mist naturally for their notorious history of violence.

She takes a seat on a bunk in the ship. She sighs, looking down at the paper. "The main reason that these cultists are capable of putting out a story like this is because we've mostly been suppressing information relating to them. The more people know that they've discovered a key to immortality, more people join. We're starting to look at a threat that can never be eliminated. How do you stop an ideology?"

Shinji shuts the book he was reading. "Once it gets stuck in people's heads, there's almost no way. Back when Jashinism was originally founded, it was in an era where you simply killed the other religion and wiped all record of them. That's how you spread your message. These days, with television and satellites, mass censorship is damn near impossible."

Himawari lays back into her bed, and looks up at the ceiling. "How do people get sucked into something this terrible? Normal people don't have the capacity to do these types of evil things.."

Kayo shakes her head. "The ones who join the cult are just people who would have been criminals anyway. 'cept they're turning petty thieves and the like into trained killers!"

What do you think?

>A. If we kill the people at the top then the structure will crumble

"If we kill the people at the top, then their structure will crumble. If they've gotten this far, it's because the same leaders have remained hidden up until now. It's clear they're playing with a long term goal in mind. Even if all they want to do is cause chaos, they're not doing it through normal means.."

Mirai nods. "We've been working on coming up with a term for these new types of tactics. The most accurate suggestion was to call it terrorism. They're trying to spread fear to suppress people and make them vulnerable, destabilize countries so they have the ability to infiltrate and spread their message."

Everyone remains quiet for a few moments, thinking to themselves. Kayo speaks up first. "Terrorists, huh? Makes sense.."

Several moments from the fight flash through your mind, against your will. They'll do anything to win.

Looking down, you've been tightly clenching the blanket. You relax your grip and sigh.

Mirai stands back up, and stretches her good arm. "We should just rest for now, everyone. We'll spend the night here and go back tomorrow."

Over the course of the day, you mostly just lay in bed and chat with the others. The four of you aren't allowed to leave the boat until next morning, so you don't have very much choice. When you set off the next day, there's an opportunity to ask Mirai something that's been bothering you. Your group is at the small dirt road leading away from the coastal village, packs on your backs and ready to go.

"Mirai-sensei, how are you doing?"

Her arm is in a more rigid cast now, so that it doesn't move at all. It's going to take some time to heal, no matter how good the doctors are in the Leaf. She responds fairly quickly. "It still stings a fair bit. I think I'll be okay though. It's gonna be annoying having to deal with it for so long."

You chuckle. "Well, I was more meaning about the fight."

She stops. "Well..yeah. That was my first time meeting my dad, and he gives me a pretty harsh gift to remember him by. It was cool getting to see him fight and stuff, at least. I'd learned all the moves that people said he knew, and I got to compare it against the real thing. If anything, I'm satisfied!"

She starts to march forward, and you of the rest of the group follow her all the way back to the Leaf Village. It's early in the afternoon, and the city seems peaceful as ever. When you step through the gates, a strange new feeling washes over you.

You set your backpack down. Even though you're in the warm light of the sun, it feels as if your skin is still covered in cold mist. You blink, and briefly as you shut your eyes a violent scene from the battle is shown to you. Shozuku rushing forward, your kunai sticking out from his chest, smiling.

It shocks you suddenly. Kayo sets a hand on your shoulder, and spins you around. "Hey! You okay? You nodded off there, suddenly."

Your eyes open, and you're looking down at your hand. The pace of your breathing has quickened slightly. "Yeah..I think I'm okay. Just tired. It's been a long couple of days, hehehe."

Akahiko, on top of her head, whines. She nods. "Uhuh, right. Yeah, I think we'll all feel better later. That poison really makes you feel like shit for a full day or so."

Shinji chuckles as he walks by. "He wouldn't know that. See you guys!"

Himawari and Mirai walk past you and Kayo. "Goodbye! Thanks for all the help, Takeshi! See you around Kayo!"

The two of you give them a thumbs up. "Night, Mirai-sensei!" yells Kayo.

Kayo yawns. "I'm gonna go to the park and take a nap. See ya'!"

She exits, and you're left alone. There's still a couple hours of daylight left. You're too tired to train, but you could go visit a friend.

After dropping off your stuff at home, you decide to see if Shikadai's around It takes a little bit of time to get to his place, and you enjoy the sights and sounds of the Leaf as you go. Again, you feel evermore thankful for the safety and peace that everyone has here. You go through the gates into the Nara Clan's home, looking around at the modest forest based decor. Art and tapestries of bucks and doe are scattered around the outside. You step up the polished wooden stairs, and knock on the frame of the front door.

"I'm coming.." you hear a lazy, gravelly voice say. Several minutes later the door creaks open, and Shikamaru smiles. "Well, I see you're back from the Mist. I assume the mission was a success?"

You frown, looking down. "Not quite. I don't guess you've looked at the news lately, huh?"

He scratches his goatee, cocking an eyebrow. "Huh..? I've been asleep for..a while. I should get down to Naruto's office, he's probably freaking out if something's up."

Shikamaru steps pass you. "Son's inside, asleep on the couch. Wake him up however you want."

You step inside, and sure enough Shikadai is laying flat on his back, asleep. The television is turned off.

How do you wake him up?

This is great. Let's do it.
>>894554

You take the Shogi set out from under the coffee table, and take the box top off. Looking inside, you find numerous pieces for your nefarious plan. One by one, you start to set the shogi pieces on Shikadai's body. Gently, carefully, and slowly, you place the first one on the tip of his nose. Then one on each eyebrow. A couple on the cheeks, and a line down the neck. You make two circles on his chest, being twelve after all.

From there you pepper them on randomly, slowly starting to run out of room. Luckily Shikadai's breathing is really steady and rhythmic, so nothing has shaken off yet. He also seems to be totally out.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfMSO4lp518

You're tiptoeing over to get another piece, when a figure in the doorway catches your attention. You slowly turn your head and look at Temari, who's standing there with her hands placed on her hips. Her eyebrow is cocked.

You hold up a finger to your mouth, pleading her to be quiet. You point down at Shikadai.

She looks down, and has to hold her hand up to her face to stop from chortling loudly.

Instantly, she steps away and brings in a set of checkers.

The two of you take turns placing piece after piece on shikadai, alternating between stacks of checkers and shogi pieces. After about ten minutes you're out of stuff to use.

She takes a picture of you smiling next to the sleeping goofball.

That was seriously fun. Do you want to wake him up?

"Hey, Shikadai." you say smugly. At first he doesn't respond, so you repeat yourself. "Hey, Shikadai."

He wiggles his nose a little bit, causing a stack of boardgame pieces to begin a terrible domino effect. Shikadai suddenly feels his face shift to the left, and sits up and gasps at the same time. There's an explosion of pieces everywhere as does so. He looks around, more confused than anything. He wakes up after rubbing his face, and looks down at the pieces.

Then he looks at you and his mom laughing hysterically on the floor, having jumped to take cover from the pieces.

He sighs. "I thought I was having a weird dream.."

You and Temari start on collecting the game pieces, and Shikadai even starts to help after he completely wakes up. His mother heads into the kitchen and ties on an apron, getting ready on starting the dinner for the family. From the times that you've been here before, you know that Temari insists on cooking herself despite also being a Jounin for the Leaf.

Shikadai leads you to the porch outside, after the two of you grab a drink. The sun is deep into the horizon now. The night will be here soon enough. You sigh and and stretch down, touching your toes. Your legs are starting to burn deeply from all of the exercise over the last couple days. Shikadai takes a seat on the polished wood, and remains silent for a few moments.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bO99ZsPzJ9U

Your friend looks down in the grass, and reaches down. He picks up a cigarette butt. Impressively, the ember is still smoldering. He looks deeply into the ash for a moment, and sets it back down before squashing it with his sandal. "Mom would murder dad if she found out he had a cigarette. Hmph. I was gonna ask how your mission went, but judging by the news I can guess it wasn't a pretty sight."

Shikadai turns, and looks at you with piercing eyes.

"Is it true? Did the mist really slaughter their own people?"

Your face contorts slightly as you think for a moment. "I don't think I'm allowed to tell you anything. I'll have to say that it's confidential for now."

He sighs, and then smiles. "Well, at least you didn't tell me they killed them. Everyone's panicked over it, you know."

Thinking for a moment, you decide to change the subject. "It's funny how many Jashinists have appeared lately, huh?" you say. Stepping over, you lean on a wooden support beam. Shikadai looks up at you. "I don't think I'd call it funny, but I know what you mean. Such a gruesome look on life is spreading like wildfire."

He stands up. "Why would anyone ever want to join them?"

Instantly, your mind flashes back to several instances over the last few days. You consider the true, human motivations of your opponents. Otozawa had an extreme desire to continue fighting. Asuka was forced into the situation after being turned into an outcast. Shozuku is clearly politically motivated for some reason or another. Questions swirl in your mind.

"I have no idea. It's not like immortality is particularly useful, anyways."

Shikadai chuckles. "I dunno, if you offered it to my mom she might kill someone."

The both of you have a good laugh, and head back inside. Temari comes into the living room, and places her hand on her hip. "What's so funny?"

The two of you stiffen slightly. "Uh, nothing." Shikadai says.

She looks suspicious. Is this a mother's intuition, you wonder?

"Hmm, right. Well, anyway, I was gonna mention that I'm going to need Shikadai to help me for a bit. It's been nice seeing you though, Takeshi. Stop by sometime earlier, and you can help out back with the garden since I live with a bunch of bums."

You laugh, and rub the back of your head. "We might be able to rally them!"

"Don't believe everything you see on the news, Shikadai. I'll see you around. Hopefully we can go on a mission together sometime soon!"

He smiles, and nods. "Right! I'll be catching up to you soon enough. The next Chunin exam is in a month or two!"

That sounds like fun. "I'll be there watching. Have a good night!" you say with a grin. You leave, and start walking home under the night sky as evening starts to settle in. The air is a little bit chilly as fall is starting in the Leaf. You'll have to change your wardrobe from a summer one to a winter one, soon enough. Looking around, you can see some people are already wearing jackets. Perhaps you're just growing used to the elements in general, but the weather right now doesn't bother you at all.

On the street back to your house, you notice Mitsuki walking down the same road alone. He's bundled up in a winter coat, and mittens. It makes you chuckle, as you realize how fitting this is for the snake-like boy. You greet him with a small wave as you pass by.

He grins. "Evening, Takeshi. I'm on my way home. Stay safe."

"You too." you say.

A short while later, you arrive home. It's dark in the apartment complex as you go up the stairs and into you and your brother's room. A quick glance through his open door tells you he's passed out in the dark. You can't blame him, he must have gotten home not too long ago as well. After taking a nice, long shower, you head to sleep.

You have a little trouble staying asleep. Periodically, you're awoken by frightening images. Frankly, it's the culmination of stress getting to you.

You awaken the next morning, more or less rested. After a good breakfast, you see your brother on his way out. He stops and sits down, deciding to check up. "Good to see you're still in one piece!" he says brightly. "I know we never really talked about it, but you know you're not allowed to be a Jounin before me, right?"

He ruffles your bed-head before you can respond, and you shake him off. "Yeah, I figured! Just don't keep me waiting too long!"

He slams his hands on the table, and smiles even wider. "You're right!"

Before you can say anything else, he rushes out the door. It reminds you a lot of how he was when you were younger, and he didn't work quite as much. Your brother used to be really energetic.

You stand up, feeling inspiration well up in your chest. It's a new day! What do you want to do?

First, you head down to the weapon's shop. Inside, as expected, is Ten-Ten. She's looking over a series of Katana's, checking over them for imperfections. She grins as you enter. "Hey there! I just made this whole batch earlier this week. I'm going to use these swords in the next phase of the Jet Sheath's development. The prototype I'm making for you is still in good condition, too! Right now, we're just working on refitting it for a larger battery so it doesn't die on you in the middle of a mission. The smaller unit has been extremely useful for collecting data. I'll give you my notes on your way out!"

You blink. "Good morning to you too, Ten-ten. Heh, I really can't wait to try this thing out. After seeing you use it, it's hard to resist. For now though, I was hoping I could restock on my weaponry and supplies."

She nods. "Of course! I'll bill up your usual ticket, and get it ready. I heard you went on a mission with my niece! How did that go?"

You sigh. "I'm sure you've seen the news. It was a..brutal place. I don't think I'm really allowed to talk about it too much. We were all fine, but Mirai-sensei's arm got hurt."

Ten-ten frowns. "Oh no! It must have been pretty serious for something to catch her off guard. Well, I'll be right back."

As she heads through the back, she yells out. "Maaariii!! Come to the front and make sure no one steals anything!!!"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfMSO4lp518

A few moments later, Mari steps through the door. She has her hair tied up in a ponytail, and her milky white eyes look rather tired. She looks rather frumpy, though you probably do as well. You've yet to entirely wake up.

She frowns. "You're not gonna steal anything, are ya?"

You shake your head. "Of course not. Ten-ten doesn't even need security cameras with you around."

Mari stares at you, a little too stunned to respond to your dumb joke at first. She decides to just let it go. "Yeah, I guess that's true."

She glances down at your bill, and picks it up. "EH?! Holy crap! Poison, explosive tags, senbon, flash bombs, smoke bombs, shuriken, kunai..how do you carry all this stuff around!?"

You point down. "Well, I've got this bag here for metal weapons, and then this one on the other side for poison, and-"

She stops you, holding a hand up. "I don't wanna be here all week. No wonder we've been eating so well lately.."

"Do you want to go get something to eat?"

Much to your surprise, Mari is holding her hand to her mouth and blushing a bit. It's rather clear against her pale white skin. "Uh..yeah! Sure! I'd just have to go home and change, and.."

As you look at her, your mind races with confusion. What's going on? Why does she seem all flustered, suddenly? Does she really have a crush on you that you didn't know about? Oh man, she's still talking and you weren't listening. To be fair, she seems like she's nervously rambling a little bit. Now that you look, it's actually pretty cu-

Ten-ten's head pops in the door frame behind Mari. "Did I just hear a date get confirmed??"

Instantly the red in Mari's face fills up to the top, and blows out as steam through her ears. "Damnit! I knew this would happen! It's not a date, Mom! We're just going to get something to eat, okay!?" Ten-ten steps in, and places a load of weapons in a sack on the counter. You open up your wallet and give her the cash, deciding not to comment.

Mari looks over. "Hey, you heard me, right? 4 o' clock!"

Ten-ten leans over the counter, slapping her hands and smiling. "It's a date!"

Mari practically tackles her mom, and they go rolling to where you can't see. Time to leave.

When you step outside, you realize your heart's beating quickly. But the pressure and tension suddenly fades and flips, and elation fills you up as you realize you really did set up your first date. Of course, it kind of happened by accident, and you weren't even really thinking of it as one. Neither was Mari, according to what she said. But her mom, and the way she acted..

As you walk down the street, you ruffle your hair and groan. "I've got a few hours to think about it. For now I'll just keep myself busy.."

You step past where the woman had been murdered by Jashinists, still feeling cold sensations as you walk by. It distracts you for only a moment.

Once inside, you head into the library and start taking a look around. From your pack, you draw out two scrolls. The Temple of Nirvana Scroll, and the Summoning Scroll. You could also spend some time studying one of these.

Looking around you, you unfold the ancient and dusty scroll. The edges of it's brown paper are crisp and extraordinarily thin, and the scent that hits your face gives you but a small hint of it's age. Looking down you can see a sequence of handsigns, prefaced by the kanji for blood. You'll need a small amount as tribute whenever you preform this technique. The summoning contract you signed at their home is what binds you to the technique. From what you can see, it should be within your realm of ability.

Standing up, you go through the handsigns without drawing blood. You try to get a feel for the mold of the chakra directed by the series of signs, and you realize you'll be expelling it through your dominant hand.

You realize that if you weren't careful, you could blow all of your energy at once with this technique. You're not sure how effective the summon that you'd get with that would be, either. It's going to be taxing to practice this technique in the field and get more of a feel for it. You've always heard stories of incredible shinobi like Jiraiya, or Naruto. There's also Orochimaru and Tsunade, Sakura and Sasuke too. They're all capable of summoning colossal creatures capable of fighting Tailed Beasts even. That doesn't really sound like what an owl would do, though. Kong Fu was the largest one that you'd seen.

After going through the motions for a while, you feel that the next time you train this technique you'll have a much easier time. You won't waste as much chakra figuring out the feel for it.

---

That's all for tonight folks. I'll be around for a short while for some questions. I'll be running again tomorrow around 6 PM eastern time. You can also follow me @Miniseries_Anon on twitter if you want a notification whenever I run.

So how much grief is 10/10 giving Mari? How flustered is Mari? Does Mari actually have a little crush on us?
>>
>>910773
She's giving her tons, and mari is pretty flustered, Mari doesn't so much have a crush on you specifically, as she's just nervous about the concept of boys in general, as no one's really asked her out before. Probably too intimidated.

It's an hour or so later, and you feel you've got an essential grasp of the basics of the Summoning jutsu now. Looking around, there's a spread of students throughout the library. Though the Chunin exams are coming up, for everyone here the school year is just starting. The Jounin exams always take place at the start of the year as well, but you certainly won't be taking it for now. The Chunin exams at least gave you a slim chance to take it all the way, but attempting something so brutal as to have a majority failure rate among the best ninja in the village is just arrogant.

You roll the summoning scroll back up and place it in your pack. What do you want to do? There's still several hours until 4 o' clock.

Rolling open the equally dusty scroll, you briefly skim over the contents. The description of the technique is simple enough. In a radius of several hundred meters, you can create the illusion of falling feathers. Anyone who sees these feathers will be lulled to sleep. It's applications are numerous to the creative mind, and in combination with other techniques you could see yourself becoming a master thief.

It occurs to you that by putting a whole house of people asleep, you could sneak in and use the Interrorgation jutsu to read all their minds without resistance. Potentially, you could walk right past a barracks full of guards right in the open with it.

The handsigns in the technique are numerous, naturally. It takes quite a bit of technique and control to properly send chakra out in such a large area. You focus on getting a flow for the numerous seals at first, not molding your chakra at all. After about twenty minutes you're capable of firing out the string of signs quickly. From there, you start to manipulate your energy.

Beads of sweat form on your forehead as you concentrate. You're not expending any chakra, but rather flexing it inside your body like a muscle. In this meditative state, you focus on pooling your power together in one spot, and rapidly expanding in every direction. You'll be casting the jutsu like a large net of chakra.

Soon enough, an hour has passed without you realizing it. You go to the restroom and wash your face, tired from the exertion. You come back to your seat and find a couple of kids looking at your open scroll.

"Man, this looks pretty complicated..what do you think it's for?"

There's three of them, two boys and a girl. They don't seem to have noticed you.

You smile cheekily. "It's a secret!"

All three children jump at the sound of your voice, and turn around. "S-sorry, mister. We saw the scroll laying here and wanted to take a peek.." says the ginger haired leader. He has big blue eyes and scruffy hair. He's rather thin as well. The other two kids seem a little more nervous, potentially fearful of being scolded. You have no such intention, however. "Well, it's good to be curious. Just don't let it get you into trouble."

The kid nods. "Hah..uh, right. Bye!"

Him and his friends run off before you can really respond. That was strange. Either way, you're finished studying for now. Where do you want to go next? There's about two hours before 4.

Your whole body is still really damn sore, so for now you think you're going to take it easy. It's been ages since you've been to the hotsprings anyways. Not since after you graduated, in fact. Now as you head through the door and into the building, you can already smell the cleansing waters. The whole area is steamy, making you a tad bit sleepy as you start to strip your clothes in the changing room.

When you go out into the pools, you're not surprised to find a couple other people here. Aside from ordinary citizens, there's also several Chunin and a Jounin. From what you could guess, he's around your sensei's age.

Dipping your toes into the water, you find it as hot and inviting as ever. You slowly lower in as not to overload your senses, until you're in to your neck. At once the tension in your body is massaged all over by the heat. Your muscles loosen, most notably in the back of your neck where a high amount of stress has been focused.

When you open your eyes, it's some time later. There's an entirely different group of people in the water now. You yawn, looking around. It must have been an hour!

You get out the water, pruny as all hell. You weren't intending to fall asleep right away, but it was so relaxing you sort of got sucked in. Nearby you can hear some people chuckle at your misfortune as you walk back to change your clothes. You really hate the sensation of pruny skin.

Slipping back into your clothes, you check the time. There's enough time to stop by somewhere real quick before you go get Mari.

You walk with your hands in your pockets, down the road. Looking around, people are as busy as ever. The shops are getting a final surge of customers before the evening sets in. As you mosey along, you consider that it might be nice to get Mari a flower since you're going to the store anyways.

Stepping inside, you see Ino leaning on the counter flipping through a magazine casually. She grins. "Hello! You're looking awfully..red."

It's true. Falling asleep in the hotsprings has made your skin a pinkish tone from the neck down. You chuckle. "Yeah, that's why you shouldn't go to the springs if you're tired. I was hoping I could restock on the usual items I get."

Ino nods. "Sure. I'll be just a second."

Before she steps away, you make an addendum. "Oh, and uh..I was wanting to get Mari a.." your cheeks burn as you get a little quite, feeling the implications of what you're saying. "flower."

Ino grins. "Oh! Of course! Do you know what kind you're getting her?"

You blink. "Well, I guess I hadn't really thought about it. Uh, maybe a rose?"

She looks at you with narrow eyes. "It's so clear there aren't any women in your family. You should get something to compliment her. A rose is way too flamboyant for Mari. She's strong, but reserved."

Ino turns around, and picks out a white lily. She places it in a plastic sleeve and hands it to you. "Here, the first one's free!"

"Thanks!" you say with a big grin. You turn around to leave and take a few steps, but quickly spin back. "Oh yeah, my stuff."

Ino chuckles. "You're seeming rather scatterbrained, you know that?"

You grin. "I guess I am. I've been really busy lately, hehe."

After paying for your things, you head home to drop everything off. From there you go inside to clean up a little bit, and mentally prepare yourself. With Ai it felt a little different, not to mention you ended up eating with a group anyways. Here you'll probably have to direct the conversation. Not that it's any sort of issue for you really, it's just a new experience.

You gulp, standing in your bathroom, looking at your reflection in the mirror. Grabbing a comb you try to swipe back a persistent cowlick that you've always had, but it doing's back into place. You shrug ,and step out the door, lily in hand.

The Hyuuga Clan complex is huge. It's almost like a small village unto itself, and as you step through the main gates a guard approaches. He waves, friendly. "Hello there. Are you here to visit one of the members of our clan?" He notices the flower in your hand, and grins.

You nod. "Yes, I'm looking for Mari Hyuuga."

He turns. "I see. She lives in the main household, just down the center of the road there." He points, and the dirt road leads to the largest of the homes in the area. You blink. "I thought she was a member of the branch family. She lives in the main house?"
>>
>>913643

The guard steps away for a moment, but stops. "Lord Neji was highly respected. With Lady Hinata standing by the Hokage's side, she's not able to preform her rightful duty as the head of the Clan. Hanabi Hyuuga has respectfully declined, stating that she'd rather focus on training her students than fooling with politics. That leaves Mari's mother, Ten-Ten Hyuuga. She's more of a stand-in for her daughter since she lacks our bloodline, but she's worked hard to preserve every ounce of Neji's beliefs and policies.

You had no idea. "That's amazing. She's a ninja, runs the shop, and is the head of the clan?"

The guard grumbles. "No offense kid, but I've gotta go to the bathroom. Don't you have somewhere to be?"

Without responding you run off. He's right. Sometimes you have a bad habit of running your mouth.

You step up to the complex, and knock. A minute later the door creaks open, and Mari steps out. She's wearing a white kimono with a pattern of yellow daises on the sleeves and the trim. Her hair is tied up and back, in a ponytail. The outfit makes her seem unusually pail and frail, even though you know her physical strength.

Before she can say anything, you hold up the lily and smile. "Hey there! You ready?"

She takes it, looking down at the flower and sniffing it gently. "Yeah, let me just go put this up real quick."

She rushes inside and back out, and the two of you start on your way.

"So where are we going?"

I remember she wanted a bbq sandwich from Ichiraku's after the exams.

Well fuck, good one anon.

"How does barbecue sound?" you say.

She claps her hands together. "My favorite! I've been craving it all day to tell you the truth, hehe. But, can we go to Ichiraku's instead. I know everyone usually goes to that big place with the booths, but at Ichiraku's they use a sauce that isn't as sweet. And the bread! It's always toasted enough, not burn but not doughy either. Does that sound good?"

You asked her if barbecue sounded good, but she ended up telling you where you're going instead. You blink. "Heh, yeah. I don't think I've had the barbecue from there before anyways!"

The sun is setting a little earlier now. It's not quite dark yet, but the air is crowing cool as you and Mari walk to Ichirakus. You notice she smells really nice as a gust of wind blows by.

There's a little time to talk before you get there.

Neji was killed in the final battle by the Ten Tails. He jumped in front of an attack to save Naruto and Hinata
>>
>>913851
Someone told me that you changed that at one point, thanks for clearing it up.
>>
>>913851
>>913860
Oh god you're right, I did change it. He was actually killed post-Ten tails battle in order for it to be possible for Mari to exist.

Thanks for reminding me of my own canon

Ah yes, hobbies. She likes to throw kunai at things, and get paid large amounts of money to track down and kill people, gather information, or protect important clients.

We have so much in common.

She looks up, and breathes in deeply. The two of you catch the scents of the restaurants on the side of the road, spicy aromas filling the air. The sound of music gently plays in the distance as you walk, a heavy peace hanging over the village. Twilight is in full bloom, the orange light of the sun illuminating the land of fire. Looking over, Mari's white kimono is glowing brightly. You grin, feeling a stirring in your heart.

Mari catches you looking at her, and cocks an eyebrow. "What is it?"

You look back to the side, and think for a moment. "Nothing. I guess I Was just wondering, why did you become a shinobi?"

She looks at you with large, moonlike eyes. "Hmph. You start strong with the questions, don't you? Well, I guess it's always seemed like the natural outcome for me. My mom and dad are both awesome ninja, so I wanted to be one too."

"Makes sense." you say. "How was the Academy for you?"

The two of you close in on Ichiraku's. There are two seats next to each other on the far right, and you both plop down. The aromas of the shop intensify. She laughs. "I guess it was pretty normal. I mean, I was always at the top of the class and everything. I was always surrounded by great teachers though, so you could say I had more than one advantage."

She leans in, and greets the owner. "Hey there! We'll have two barbecued porks, please! I want the spicy!"

The one time anons unanimously agree at something is when we decide about pork. Amazing.
>>
>>913936
Usually people are all up in arms about how to pork in quest threads.
>>
>>913945
SAUSAGE FAGS LEAVE NOW
>>
>>913936
Given the current situation, it seems we've already decided on our future pork.
>>
>>913963
Pulled pork?
>>
>>913969
Yep, that's what I meant.
>>
"I'll have the smoky."

She grins slyly. "Not up for the challenge of the spicy stuff, huh?"

You rub the back of your head. "Maybe I'll have a bite of yours. Smoky barbecue is my favorite, though. It's like being able to taste the fire without it being too, well, hot!"

Mari folds her arms. "Hmmm, well at least you didn't pick the sweet. Whenever I go out with my cousins Himawari and Boruto they always argue to go the other place. It's practically like syrup!"

"Do you like to cook?" you ask.

She suddenly looks a little flustered, as if you've discovered some sort of secret. "W-well, I mean, sure..I bake cookies and stuff at home. Mom usually can't find the time so I'll make dinner, or whatever."

You chuckle. "Me and my brother have a bad habit of eating nothing but slabs of meat or bowls of noodles. You might have to show me how to make something else besides that stuff."

Your drinks are placed in front of you. Mari tears the tip of her straw wrapping off, and places the uncovered bit in her mouth. She turns to you, and blows. The paper on the straw is blasted off and dinks you in the forehead, making her laugh.

Not wanting to be seen defenseless, you quickly try to do the same. When you fire your weapon, however, she easily holds up two fingers and snags it. "Hehe, maybe. You can't be a worse cook than my mom."

That's all for tonight anons. The quest and date will resume next thread. I'll be running next monday. I'll stick around for a little bit to answer some questions.
>>
>>913977
That was so kawaii senpai, thanks for running Laze.

Why is it that every male Naruto Quest protagonist wants to moonlight as a chef?
>>
>>913977
We need some of dem sweet, sweet owl gainz

Also this is going well

I wonder how we could screw this up
>>
>>913977
So how good of a cook is Mari? Has she calmed down any? Did we give her the flower yet?
>>
>>913991
>Laze

we will be forever confused with each other

>>913992
You'll be able to train more stuff next thread. Soon you'll be going through some more direct training

>>913997
She's okay, she messes up stuff she's not familiar with but knows a few dishes. Mostly she makes cookies
>>
>>914003
What cookie is her specialty? Also flower when?
>>
>>914003
What is the best way to fivk with borts mind?Besides waifuing his sister or mom
>>
>>914003
I missed a lot of Alchemist Quests, okay?

But really, Kon, Kuro, and now Takeshi, what is it with the male protagonists and cooking? Is it just that the QMs/anons know that the fastest way into a girl's pants is through her stomach?
>>914018
I can't really remember how he did in the Chunin Exams, but if he doesn't know the rasengan yet...
>>
>>914009
snickerdoodles are her absolute favorite, and sorry, forgot. You gave her the flower earlier, she put it in a vase inside her house. She was too flustered to say anything

>>914018
iunno just one up him whenever you get the chance, repeated attempts of this will get you to rival status in his mind
>>
>>914026
How smoothe is Takeshi out of 10?
>>
>>914040
7
>>
>>914048
So is Sarada tailing us on our date tinfoiling away? Do we have Mari's cousins snooping?
>>
>>914048
And is that high compared to the other 12 year olds.
Hell have any of our peers been on any dates.
>>
>>914059
I really think Salad has better things to do anon.
Like training for the exams
Or watching daytime tv with her mom
>>
>>914059
nah everyone's at home doing their own thing.

>>914074
It's not bad, there aren't any studs yet obviously. It's more so you lack the self-awareness to be nervous about asking a girl to get something to eat, rather than you being smooth
>>
>>914094
What's Sasuke up to Mini?
If it's not the Jashinists, then what could be worse than them?
>>
>>914106
Sasuke is Naruto's right hand man and personal attack drone more or less. Of course, Sasuke also tends to not respond for long periods of time on his missions.

He's currently doing some research on the Mist.
>>
>>914094
I'd Takeshi's logic is , "If I can face down a tailed beast, Win a chunin exam featuring a jinchuuriki and more forces of elemental destruction than I could shake a stick with nothing but ninja tools and grit, face down and beat immortal cultists, find a long lost summoning scroll and routinely become instrumental in beating foes well above my power level, I can darn well ask anyone I want to to eat with me.
>>
>>914124
Do the jashinist leaders know our name?
>>
>>914124
>Sasuke is Naruto's right hand man
I bet you think you're clever.
>>
>>914094
So your saying our immaturity and lack of shame has but us ahead of the curve regarding building the ultimate harem of kunoichi sluts.
That is completely ridiculous and i love it.

But you know in all seriousness, thinking about the daily life of a teenage genetic freak like Sarada got me thinking about how little we get to interact and learn about our peers.
There are so many of them, with so little incentive to seek them out that they kinda fall to the wayside. Maybe thats a result of getting so much responsibility so early on, but we really didn't get a chance to interact with the majority of our fellow ninja before we were thrown into the Exams, and now with power creep slowly approaching and the threat of doppelganger cultists coming to fuck our day right around the corner, i feel like we miss out on little moments like this were we can just chill with our comrades and not have to worry about training to even stay.
Such is the struggle of a low class ninja i guess.

tl;dr I like the character interaction and learning about the lore and daily happenings of the cast, something we don't get a chance to do often enough because of all the shit happening in the quest.
>>
>>914193
Yeah that's partly brought about by there being so much to do in the quest. I underestimated how much people would like to do that. It's more you'll get periods of time where you can relax

There's a special event coming up soon that's gonna be dedicated to goofing off that I think everyone will love
>>
>>914203
>There's a special event coming up soon that's gonna be dedicated to goofing off that I think everyone will love
Dammit Mini, don't you Jew me out of my idea to make Hagoromo Day an international holiday like Christmas.
>>
>>914220
nah it's not a festival or anything like that
>>
>>914224
Group Hot springs time?
>>
>>914244

nah that's 18+

whole section of the hot springs built in jiraiya's honor
>>
>>914271
Sound proofed room that gets cleaned daily?
>>
>>914203
>>914224
Ok now I'm excited
Its gonna be Salad's birthday party that we need to sneak into because we were not invited. On our way we meet Boruto and together with Kichiro we sneak in only to discover the reason we weren't invited was because it was a slumber party. Hilarity ensues.
