You are an emissary with one sole task: to awaken the gods of above and below who fled to the dream of the great one.

After Killing Snitches, Your rune given by the caretaker has engraved a vicious scar on the woman of eyes.. You looted the corpse of a worshiper of silver called Donathan who was killed by an abomination guarding a small church in the Blackwood quarters. You aided Neathe, another follower of Silver who sought vengeance against the abomination who killed her comrade.

With Gunheart Folt and Neathe, you encountered the abomination of the church. However, It was too powerful for you three. Gunheart Folt suggested bringing more allies to the fray after a tactical retreat.

The head of Bildren lured you once more to her domain. You made a pact of sorts with her. You are to kill the gods of above and below permanently paving the way for her to become the true heir of the great one.

You managed to slay the abomination guarding the entrance to new Oorlith Bloodward. The path is clear for now.

"Mmmmm~ we are bloated with blood my finger. Ooof, I am feeliing a tad dizzy. Let's head back to the dream; the stone lady could really use our blood echoes....or we can show this new clot to Bildren." suggested your pistol.

You headed back to the dream, the caretaker was waiting for you in the room of lamps. He seemed....a bit happy "Well done young master! Master Bildren sensed your triumph. Here, a small gift from yours truly..."

The caretaker gave you x3 Milkwood vials, x2 petrified pus.

I'd also like to ask for a more detailed explanation as to his motives for going against Livendagan's wishes by giving us that rune, but I'm not sure how that would fit with how we've been roleplaying so far.

>Go to Bildren
>>
>>886230
The smile on the caretaker's face soon vanished after your question "Master Livendagen is... too naive at times. He is a bit too kind for this world, young master. One simply can not save everyone. I hoped you would have used the rune... to undo his mistakes......"

The Caretaker left you afterwards without uttering another word. You too left the room of lamps to go to Bildren.

It was....a bit too warm inside Bildren's room, some of the blood and pus on the floor was indeed boiling but it soon cooled down as you approached Bildren. Her gullet churned violently "And so came the child of man.....with a victory. Exciting news, indeed. Not a god of above or below but something."

The goddess of Duality drew more symbols on the wall using her puss "Have you....found anything interesting in the Maze? Share it with me..."

>Tell her of the first meeting - where some strange, unknown being asked if we knew its name, and rent us apart when we said we didn't - but don't let on that we later guessed its true identity, or about the agreement we made with it. The feeling of terror and confusion shouldn't be too hard to fake - even now it ought to be fresh in our mind.

If she calls our bluff, we can say that we fear how far its reach extends (after all, it could pull us all the way back to itself merely from our using a lamp), and didn't dare speak candidly lest she refused to (or couldn't) prevent it from destroying us permanently.
>>
>>886252
I'm actually confused by what I'm voting for here
>>
>>886274
Bildren seems unaware of her head's actions. The vote here is whether we want to let her own about them (bearing in mind the agreement we've already made with it) in effect betraying her head.
>>
>>886274
>>886276
"Yes, it is her alright.This....thing you have encountered is my shameful head.I would have churned her to naught if only i had the strength to do so....even if that was possible, her death will collapse this dream..."

The headless spider moved a little readjusting herself "Know this, child of man, We were created to be completely neutral. We are not an heir for the great one. Other gods are so. My head fails to understand this and so with the aid of Livendagen ....and the caretaker, we severed her among other things . My gullet is her prison, her domain. She is more or less powerless here..."

The symbols drawn on the wall started to twirl "Her or my death would end this dream. I know that she will seek the aid of...lesser beings. She has done it before but Livendagen foiled her plans. Know this, Aiding her will mean the end of you. You are easily....replaceable. Time is not an issue for me or the caretaker. We can wait for another. You could aid me to be stronger...Offer me effigies from the products of my gullet and I will be strong enough to discard this useless head. "

Your pistol didn't utter another word; it was...satisfied for reason. You did kill the last sampler for his sweet echoes....but he attacked you first. He deserves no rest or pity.

For now, you had other thoughts in your mind. You eventually have to confront Bildren, your motives may vary but you need her to process this clot. She is also a viable source of useful items and weapons.

Folt and Neathe are both waiting for you to fight this fiend in the Blackwood quarters. You could also explore New Oorlith Bloodward with its bloated guardian gone.

Both the tainted grounds and Milkwood forest remains unexplored. Secrets and wonders mingle between trees and corpses...Although this woman, Ayne, would not be so pleased upon your second visit.

There is also the rest of the maze to explore, both the head and the body of Bildren seems to be problematic. Should you follow the body, offer her effigies to spare you from her ire or should you follow the head, the supposed true heir, who can aid you and possibly free the Pillar for Bildern's mortal coil?

So many questions, so little answers.

you took the southern path, it was awfully quiet till the end where you found a small porous dome made from pure iron with symbols very similar to Bildren's.

You could see him inside, A man chained by strands of flesh and bones. Said strands coiled around his bare scarred body like bloody thorns. A peculiar mask of flesh veils his face but you could hear him scream and wither in pure agony.

The dome had a worm out lock, it had a Headless spider with webs

You pistol remained dreadfully calm. It seems that your suicide have left an undesirable impact on it.

You returned back to Blackwood quarters via the lamp, you wanted to check on Histianne, she was in a bad shape because of you after all.

The ground outside of the barn was littered with plucked eyes, rotting and squished to bit. You feared the worst for Histianne.

You found the woman of eyes in a meditative state, she had oozing wounds all over her body. She had two eyes.

Hers.

She looked a bit...saner than before. Once she saw you, Histianne stood up gently, holding your hands after.

"I was waiting for you....you have opened my eyes, my true eyes. You show me true compassion just like Livendagen. I...I can finally be myself all thanks to you...I no longer want to see the world, those eyes...i need them no more. I-I only desire...."

I can finally see and feel myself. My heart...It...it beats so softly. You have nothing to worry about; I will stand by your side as a...friend. You have my word."

You haven't noticed it already but the barn....it was surprisingly cleaner and tidier; no more dried blood or corpses of crows. You could actually smell a subtle incense in the air.

"I know your journey is a hard one. I won't be needing those eyes anymore but i can teach you how to consume them, to gain their insight..."

Histianne paused for a second eyeing a particular corner in the barn, it was more furnished than the rest of this farmhouse "Perhaps we can have.....a brief moment of respite afterwards. Let us forget the woes of this world even for a bit. "

Histianne shared her secrets with you, you felt like she hated doing so not because she didn't want to share them...no, she was a bit ashamed of her former self; a husk of a woman craving eyes mindlessly.

After that was done, you two rested a bit, the incense was doing its work to soothe your nerves a bit. With Histianne, you forgot about everything ahead of you... the world seemed to be irrelevant even for a tick.

You asked for her assistance, the abomination in the church was too strong for a company of three. "Of course i will aid you, I might not be as powerful as before but I can fend myself."

As for your arcane knowledge, Histianne stated that it was close to the easiest of her arcane arts. You had to invest a bit more in arcane in the future.

You doubted that Histianne's knowledge of the Pillar in the first place, Still, you asked anyways. As expected, she didn't know anything. you didn't want to put unwanted pressure on her; the times she had spent in the maze were perhaps the darkest and the worst of her life.

The path to the church was unobstructed by maddened folks or corrupted beasts. The abomination inside the church was still weeping , you could hear it from the mass graves,

Neathe and an unfamiliar face were waiting for you. A man with a lumbering greatsword strapped to his back, he wore an outfit similar to Donathan's but it had silver padding, some had bullet holes, others had some deep cuts. This man had a pale skin and an unkempt silver hair, he was the tallest among the group.

He greeted you with an expected smile "Ah, Vinehelm, Livendagen's emissary. A pleasure, doubly so for your friend. Both honour us with your arrival."

He bowed formally "I am Silverheart Elmad, Folt couldn't come to witness the end of this...thing. Don't you worry, be it up close or a afar, I won't disappoint."

current loadout

Histianne has offensive arcane arts with few defensive arcane arts to use, close- mid range and a carver as a melee weapon

Neathe has a rapid fire repeating pistol and a rapier

Elmad has a greatsword his ealier statement suggests that his weapon might transform to a long ranged one

>>897721
Elmad just arrived here, he is not folt.

Both you and Neathe failed to notice something of worth as you two were running for your lives.
>>
>>897760
Primary:
>Midden's pistol
>Grand Mildrah

Secondary:
>Living Whip
>Tyerne

Outfit:
>Sampler's Outfit

We'll have to refine our plan as we learn more about how Yuothl fights; but to begin with, we can try to use the Sampler's Outfit to draw its attention while the others fire upon it.

We shall attempt to stay roughly in front of it and dodge its attacks; it will not be our job to deal damage, but draw the majority of Yuothl's attacks while fending it off with our close- to mid-range weapons. Elmad and Histanne will keep to its sides and back, dealing the primary damage (preferably from mid-range and closing in only to take heat off of us if necessary).

Neathe can stay back and hit it from range - we can pass her the Tyrene and use the Yousall if necessary. Being out of Yuothl's direct attention, it will be her job to provide supporting fire and watch Yuothl for any features or weaknesses of note.

This plan will likely not survive first contact with the enemy, but it's a start.

"I trust your judgement, fine, let us end that thing, for Donathan!" Eldmad raised his greatsword.

The four of you entered the somewhat ruined church, Yuothl screeched upon sensing your arrival.

!!! Frenzy is increasing!!!

Neathe took cover near the furniture cast aside and started to her rapid fire, it seems that her shots are but a nuisance to the chained. They did manage to inflict some minor injuries.

"Death awaits you, fiend! Rrragh!" Elmad struck his sword in the floor, soon after, geysers of hot silver erupted around and under the chained burning some of its flesh, He pulled out his sword charging with you.

Histianne stood in behind you two. After erecting a small dome of flesh strands around her, she was channeling something that was both taking time and effort, you could see small tendrils erupting from her wounds. She was incredibly vulnerable in this stage.

Finally, with your firearms and weapons you charged in, you mind was pierced by thoughts of madness from the mere sight of the chained.

The chained was about to swoop its large forelegs in front of it, it was also about crush you with its pesudo-flails attached to its tongue.

The chained was focusing on you only at the moment

!!! FRENZY IS INCREASING!!!

Your perfectly dodged the swoops and flails just in time for Histianne to unleash various tendrils at your foe, they might be thin but they managed to make it to the other side pinning one of the chained's forelegs.

Elmad on was keeping the other foreleg busy with his butchering slashes and slices, he seemed to be the most enraged among you four. Neathe managed to score more shots at random spots.

Cornered and injured, Yuothl unleashed a bone shattering howl dropping the party but Elmad ,who continued to fight, to its knees. Histianne has passed out with blood trailing from her eyes and ears while you were struggling to regain your focus.

You felt like the chained was no longer focusing its attacks on you.

Your vision was getting blurry.

I had been considering climbing to the rafters and either making drop attacks from a height, sniping any weakspots Neathe may have found, or pushing the statues out from their alcoves to fall on top of Yuothl.

You rested a bit, watching Both Neathe and Elmad fighting off the chained. Histianne has finally woke up only to witness Neathe getting slammed hard to the wall, a great sum of her bones were shattered from the impact.

"NOOOO!!!" Elmad kept striking his greatsword in the floor releasing geysers of silver until he too was swooped to wall suffering a fate close to Neathe.

The chained looked at you and Histianne with clear anger and rage, one of its forelegs is now shredded....useless flaps of flesh, the other was mutilated from Histianne's tendrils. It suffered from major burns across its body and various bullet wounds thanks to Neathe.

The abomination was about to fully rush towards you and Histianne, for the moment , it was licking its useless foreleg. The sedative you took was wearing off....

A blood clot which belonged to Youthl the chained, consume it to gain blood echoes. Or perhaps.....

The rise of the tar from the western lake nearby sparked the downfall of these quarters. It was a plague which turned men mad, Most saw it as a curse for deforesting the majority of Milkwood forest.

Children and crows were a potent host for this plague. Unable to the kill all the children due to the fear of more infections, they were herded to the local church only to lock the door behind them. They will rot by themselves, thought the already maddened townfolks.

The children were inside huddling together and waiting for their certain death. That was until a woman entered the church when most of the quarters were overwhelmed, This holy woman gave the children a whole new body for them to dwell in it instead of their sickly bodies. She gave them the means to control it and to heal it but alas, the tar claimed her life. And so Youthl an amalgamation of all the children in the quarter guarded the holy woman and the church till its last breath.

we will end it here for now thank you for your participation.
