My body is ready.

The day after you were turned away from the Missions Office, you went about your day off as usual, helping Haiiro practice, milling about town, and spending some time with friends of yours.

Even though everything seems like it should be normal, there is a sense of unease hanging over your head, and everyone else's. Thankfully, both your father and sister have been assigned guard duty inside the village, so they're not out on high ranked missions, not that if any came up they could be spared.

The day after that, you're sitting at a long table in one of Hadenazubon's reserved rooms with a number of your former academy classmates. You, Jimmaru, Hakurin, Sakutai, Himarase, Matsukawa, Mayuto's teammates Ryuko and Adzuki, and even InoShikaCho are there. Of the group, only you and Jimmaru are chunin. Jimmaru was the one who called the meeting, and you aren't surprised that he didn't call Taiomon's team, or that Mayuto refused to show.

"I know we're all nervous about what's been going on, and the fact that it's hidden from us," Jimmaru begins once everyone is settled, "so I just wanted to call everyone together to discuss what we should do," he looks between Sakutai and Ryuko, "I know that there is another Leaf team of genin and a chunin that aren't here, and," his gaze wanders to Ryuko and Adzuki, "one of our former classmates who didn't want to come. But I feel that this group is enough," he then looks to you, "Kuro, you're the host, and the only other chunin here, have anything to say?"

You stand up as Jimmaru sits down. "We're all concerned about what's happening, yes, but we have to be ready," you sigh, no one wants to say it, but someone has to, "we have to be ready for something huge, something bad," you finally say it, "we have to prepare ourselves for war." Everyone starts talking among themselves, "I'm not saying that there will be war, but we don't want to be caught unprepared, we have to learn to work together."

You sit down, motioning for the person to your right to speak. You're sat at the head of the table, with Jimmaru to your left, and Hakurin to your right.

Hakurin declines to speak, shifting uncomfortably.

Sakutai stands to speak, "Kuro's right, we're going to have to be prepared for war, and it looks like genin will have to fight," he gestures to Ryuko, "I'll try to talk Mayuto into helping us, even if we don't tell him everything." Sakutai then sits, and gives the floor to Himarase.

"Well, I um, suppose that I could help people increase their chakra reserves, and I could probably get some tools from my clan to help us." She seems unsure, and sits down. Matsukawa passes up the opportunity to speak, as does Adzuki.

The side of the table to your left is next, Ryuko begins, "I know that my team hasn't been the most," she thinks on her words, "friendly, but that's all due to a certain asshole who's name I'll leave out of it, anyway, all I wanted to say was that Adzuki and I are up for helping you guys in whatever way you need, no matter what a certain asshole might think." She sits, and Choga passes, Shikasho is next.

The young Nara speaks, "We may have butted heads with a few of you in the past, but you guys are pretty strong, so we'll go along with what you guys want."

Inoko shrugs, "Whatever he says, I guess," indicating Shikasho.

"Well, now that that's settled, let's eat, Kuro's footing the bill!" Jimmaru says, clapping and giving thumbs up.

"Wait what?" is all you can say before the food is brought out.

After a wallet-lightening feast, everyone is sitting around the table, digesting, when a familiar jounin bursts in.

It's Mendo, Mayuto's uncle. "Neophyte Twelve, or however many of you there are, and whatever you call yourselves," he says quickly, and out of breath. "I need the five of you," Mendo indicates you, Jimmaru, Ryuko, Sakutai, and Inoko, "to come with me to the Hokage Tower, now."

You feel a falling sensation, and are immediately outside the Hokage's office. "Good luck on whatever he gives you guys, I have to run," Mendo says, saluting with two fingers before he disappears again.

Swallowing the lump in your throat, you open the door to the Hokage's office.

For the first time you've seen in his office, the Hokage is in his full uniform, hat included. He regards your group, "Jimmaru Uchiha, Kuro Nijiiroh, Ryuko Ishizumi, Sakutai Uchiha, and Inoko Yamanaka," he steeples his hands in front of his face. "I require the five of you for an important mission, ready yourselves, and return here in half an hour," he holds his hand out to Jimmaru, "You will lead the mission."

All of you rush home to ready yourselves.

You pick up your staff, it's been a while since you needed it, but your skills haven't degraded. Along with that, you pack a roll of explosive tags and ten shuriken in the pouch you carry, and store eight smoke bombs and a single kunai in your larger pockets.

You return to the Hokage's office a few minutes early, at the same time Ryuko does. She's changed into a more form-fitting outfit, and she's carrying a sword now. Jimmaru and Sakutai show up soon after, Jimmaru in his flak jacket, and Inoko shows up last, with less than a minute to spare. Each of you are kitted out in your gear.

You enter the Hokage's office once more, "You will be retrieving this," he says, gesturing to a projection on his desk, it's of a large, rectangular crate wrapped in bandages with a sealing kanji on it. "However, it will not be that simple, your enemy will be four or more combatants of unknown loyalty and identity, leave at once so that you can catch up to them."

Each of you answers in the informative, and you head out of the village, in a formation with Sakutai taking point, followed my Jimmaru, then you, Ryuko, and Inoko in a triangular formation. Sakutai is acting as a spotter, with his sharingan activated, and Inoko is your sensor. After nearly an hour of travel, Inoko says that she senses six signatures up ahead, all of significant strength, two are considerably weakened, a fair distance from the others, who appear to be resting.

Jimmaru has you and Ryuko head towards the two, while him, Sakutai, and Inoko will shadow the other four.

You quickly reach a clearing where two Leaf jounin are sat, reclined against trees. They appear to be stable, but not in good shape.

They don't seem very injured, so you tell Ryuko that you'll return to the group and tell them what happened. She agrees to this, and you return, unseen to Jimmaru, Inoko, and Sakutai.

You find the three of them sitting on a branch, watching a group of four people mill about the package you're supposed to be retrieving. One of them glances in your direction, and they take off running, the largest one carrying the casket.

From what you saw of them, there were three boys and a girl, each dressed in a high-collared green bathrobe-looking garment with baggy pants and sandals, without belts.

Jimmaru tells your group to follow, and you do. Sakutai looks uneasy.

You don't really break formation, but you speed up so that you can talk to Sakutai better.

"What's wrong, you look like you've seen a ghost?" You ask the Uchiha.

He looks at you, worried. "The one that looked at us, he had the sharingan." He tells you.

You just nod, and go back to your place, passing the information off to Jimmaru.

Before your teammate has a chance to give orders, all of you are forced to scatter as a tree falls into your path.

The group you're pursuing has turned to face you, and you get a better look at them. The largest one is no longer holding the casket, instead the girl is. The largest one is a full foot taller than you, though he doesn't look much older, and has long, spiky hair, his hands, neck, and feet, are a lighter skin tone than his face. The girl has short maroon hair, pale blue eyes, and skin similar to yours. The other two are more surprising, both of them sporting dojutsu. They look similar, though one has short spiky hair, and the other has long straight hair. The one on the right has sharingan, while the one on the left has byakugan.

You hear the tall one grunt, then speak, "Go on ahead, I'll handle them."

The two with dojutsu nod, while the girl pipes up, "Don't die, I want to through three hundred pounds of coffin at you when we get back!"

Inoko throws down a smoke bomb, and your team heads to a nearby clearing, the large boy on your tail. When you get there, you have a precious moment to spare.

"One of us needs to stay here to hold him off while the others head off the rest of them," Jimmaru says, sighing.

Just then, the large enemy bursts through the treeline.

Jimmaru, Inoko, and Sakutai take off. You hear a voice in your head, "You two decide who will fight him quickly, then the one who doesn't can catch up." It appears that Ryuko heard it too.

You wish Ryuko luck, and take off after the rest of the group, laughter echoing through the trees behind you.

You reach Jimmaru, Sakutai, and Inoko soon after, and continue on the trail of your enemies. Again, they send one after you. This time, it's the one with sharingan. Before anyone can suggest a different strategy, Sakutai volunteers himself.

"This is about pride," he says, stepping towards the enemy, "I know you're in the Clan too, Jimmaru, but this is something that the Main Family should deal with."

Jimmaru gives a simple nod, and you get back on the enemies' trail with Jimmaru and Inoko.

Jimmaru asks you to head the enemies off and lay a trap for them ahead of them.

You split off from Inoko and Jimmaru, and, using you're shunshin, you're able to get ahead of the girl and the boy with byakugan.

You leap out, knock the girl to the side, and smash the boy into the forest floor below with your chakra avatar. You grab the package with it, and, spotting Jimmaru and Inoko, head towards them.

You hear your enemies behind you as you near your allies.

You throw the casket to your teammates, Inoko catching it roughly, and spin to face your enemies.

They appear to be surprised at the sight of your Chakra Avatar, they've likely never seen anything like it. Both enemies attack physically, so you smash the girl into the forest floor below, and, after blocking all of his hits with one arm of your avatar, roughly slam the boy into a tree.

Five projectiles whiz past the outside of your chakra avatar, and ping off of the casket Inoko is holding behind you.

"Don't block with the mission objective!" Jimmaru exclaims to Inoko.

"What was I supposed to do, let myself get killed?!" She postures back.

They continue arguing even as the girl makes her way up the tree and the boy escapes your grasp.

You sigh in relief, though the enemy is following your allies. You go after them, taking some chakra out of your avatar, weakening it somewhat, but allowing you to move faster.

You're able to catch up with the enemies, but something darts past you, stabbing at Jimmaru. You then see a younger girl stabbing through the female enemy already present, who seems to come back to her senses. Inoko, who had momentarily slumped over, stands once more.

"What the hell!? Asagao!?" The redheaded girl says, shocked at the new arrival.

Speaking of the new arrival, she's a girl, younger than you, but you would say older than Haiiro, dressed in the same manner as the others. She's rather short, and her long, silver hair is in a ponytail. She's wearing some sort of headgear around her eyes and ears, with what you would guess to be antennae protruding from the top.

"What the hell me?! What the hell you, Senpu?!" the little girl speaks up, "diving in front of an enemy, did he dick you or something?!"

The boy with the byakugan just rolls his eyes, following after your teammates as his allies continue to argue.

The chakra chains dispel as Senpu seizes, her nervous system thrown into chaos by the electricity shooting through it.

"Everyone around me is useless!" Asagao exclaims as she backs off from you, and grabs Senpu. She darts to the canopy above.

You follow them, but find only Senpu there, standing ready to fight you. You ready yourself against her, only to hear rustling in the leaves beneath you. You quickly lean back, though what looks like a dagger made of bone nicks your cheek.

Asago quickly joins you on the canopy. "The bottom is the weakness, Senpu, get down there!" She orders her teammate.

Future Naruto Quest


This quest is set within the universe of Naruto, long after the end of the series, but ignoring the events of the Boruto Manga. Of course, because this is Naruto we're talking about, the geopolitics and technology haven't advanced as quickly as they would in the real world. As such, the technology is similar to that of Boruto the Movie, and the villages you know and love are largely the same.


However, the characters will be less familiar, because as much time has passed between the Last and now as passed between the Founding of the Hidden Villages and the Main Series.


You are playing as Kuro Nijiiroh, a Hidden Leaf Chunin of twelve years. You’re a member of Hōōmaru Tachibana’s Team Seven, along with your teammates, Hakurin Hyuga, and Jimmaru ████ Uchiha. Your family consists of your older sister, an ANBU Black Ops, Shirou; your mother, the restaurateur Ki; and your father, a Hand Seals Specializing Tokubetsu Jounin.

Last Session, you went on a vital mission to retrieve an unknown package.

You drop to the ground before they can, and knock over a number of trees on the ground with Acid Jutsu.

Your lowered pH water melts through the bases of the trees, felling them. Senpu and Asagao fall around you as well, landing softly, and pacing around you like predators around a kill.

Someone else dashes through the clearing, and you can see that it's Awai, the enemy boy with byakugan, carrying the casket.

Time seems to slow as he passes through the clearing near you, while Senpu and Asagao move to attack you.

Using your shunshin, which is a strain when your chakra avatar is activated, especially when it's active for this long, you catch up to Awai, and manage to get in front of him.

His three-hundred fifty-nine degree eyesight allows him to partially dodge your rage-infused strike, but it's not enough to save him. Your chakra avatar's fist collides with his legs, crushing them into a bloody pulp against the trunk of a felled tree. He cries out in pain as he looses his grip on the casket.

You hear Senpu retch, though Asagao doesn't seem phased, and moves around you to pick up the casket, aiming to run back into the forest with it.

You should go after her, but there's a nagging compulsion echoing in the back of your mind.

You ignore your impulses, and wheel on Senpu. Before she can escape, you cover her in a spray of Alkaline Jutsu.

The girl's screams fade into the distance as you chase after Asagao, you feel yourself nearing your limit, but push on, finding yourself on a downward slope with rapidly thinning trees.

You break out onto the bank of a lazily-flowing river, the gravel crunching beneath your feet. Asagao stands, facing you, the coffin behind her and a myriad of bone projections emerging from her arms and back.

"How did you do that?! Just what the fuck are you?!" Her eyes are hidden behind that visor she wears, but you can tell you would see nothing but fear in them.

Using one of your chakra avatar's arms, you block the projectiles she launches at you, and swing at her with the other arm.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, you grab the casket with the same hand, and put it behind you. Again, you approach your enemy.

"L-look, I'll go with you or whatever, just don't kill me, please!" She holds her hands in front of her, as if it will ward you off. She's so distracted by you that she doesn't even water walk when she backs into the water.

"Alright, deal." You step onto the river, and cause the water to rise around Asagao, encasing her totally, except for her head. You release her visor from her head, and it falls into your hand, you tie it to your belt with your forehead protector. You then blindfold Asagao with a strip of fabric from her sleeve.

"Why did you take that?!" She demands, "I can hardly see without it, and it keeps the pain from overwhelming me!"

You don't answer, and instead head back to the clearing you made earlier, with Asagao in one hand, and the casket in the other.

When you reach the clearing, you see that steam is rising from Senpu, who is still moving weakly, and Awai appears to be in shock.

Due to a combination of all of your enemies being neutralized, and exhaustion, you dispel your chakra avatar.

You get the urge again. It's not to kill, but it seems like every cell in your body is telling you to do something. The sun is kissing the tops of the trees.

You feel a tingling in your dominant hand as you turn to approach Senpu. It looks like she's regenerating her injuries, you suspect she's some kind of Uzumaki, or at least someone who has Uzumaki genes.

But she's not fast enough, and so you flip her onto her back with your toe. Her skin crumbles around where you kick, and most of her body is still soft and cracked. You lower your hand, now encased in a translucent glowing shroud similar to your chakra avatar, to her stomach. You pull something forth from her, red and blue sparks jumping between her stomach and your hand as you pull. She goes still when the process is done. Looking into your hand, you see that it's some kind of small, dimly glowing, fruit.

You hold the fruit in your shrouded hand, and make your way to Awai.

"What the hell did you do to her?!" He screams at you, the shock of what he's seen snapping him out of near-unconsciousness. You don't know why he's so scared, Senpu's body is still near-totally intact.

He's in no shape to back away from you, and now your other hand glows with the ethereal shroud. You draw another fruit from him in a similar manner, though this one has more of a blue glow to it.

You eat both fruit, and feel instantly invigorated and awake. You feel as if you just woke up from a lovely sleep, not ran around in the woods all night utilizing an exhaustive technique.

You snap out of your reverie a few minutes later as you notice Sakutai and Ryuko enter the clearing. Sakutai looks incredibly worn, though uninjured; and Ryuko is covered in cuts, and so much blood that you know most of it isn't hers.

"What the hell happened here?" the girl asks, out of breath.

"What happened to you?" Sakutai asks when he notices you.

When you look at the two corpses in the clearing, you find that they're not largely undamaged, but rather their ribcages are exploded outward, their eyes are destroyed, and there's a massive amount of blood issuing from their noses and ears.

"Well, you're..." he gestures to his face, at a lose for words. "Hey Ryuko, you're a chick, you've got a mirror, right?" He asks your teammate for this mission.

"What?" She asks as she inspects Senpu's corpse, incredulous, "Why would I have a mirror?" Sakutai shrugs, and Ryuko goes on, speaking quieter this time, "Why does such a cute guy have to be a chauvinist?" she says, to no-one in particular, you probably weren't even supposed to hear that.

Sakutai turns to her, "What did you just say?"


"Anyway," Ryuko changes the subject, "It looks like this mission is wrapped up well, we all survived, we have a prisoner, and we got the mission objective."

You ask about Inoko and Jimmaru.

"His chakra was pretty much depleted, but she was in pretty bad shape, I think he saved her life, honestly." Sakutai says, hoisting up the casket. "That Namikaze guy from earlier evacuated them, so we have to walk back to the village."

You offer to take both Asagao and the casket. Sakutai graciously accepts. You mark the location of the enemies' corpses, then head back towards the village at a slower pace than you left at.

It take a few hours to get back to the village, which tires you out, having to maintain your chakra avatar the whole time. When you reach the village, you're ushered to the Hokage's office right away, your prisoner being taken by the Interrogation Squad, and the casket by a group of ANBU. You see teams of genin lead by chunin leaving the village to retrieve the corpses. It's near midday at this point.

When you get to the Hokage's office, you see the beginning of a smile on his face, before it disappears when he looks at you.
