Hey guys sorry for starting late, let me know when you are here, though considering its turkey day over there, Im guessing most of you are barely able to burp, let alone type, eh?

I wonder if 4cjhan displays the following character correctly. The character for despair. It sure reminds you that it is a pictographic language, uh? Let me know if you see it

Were you able to see it? Anyway yeah, thanksgiving and xmas... i dont expect ppl to show up on those days
>>
>>864371
Miellewds-guy here.
You should have posted an update in the last thread.
>>
>>864371

Hi there
>>
>>864398
Yeah, we can see the character.
>>
>>864481
Thats pretty surprising.

I wonder if we should start. Well, lets see... talk with Sinoe and Lazard, then FF a bit to starting the ship travel with Mako, I think.

Looks like we have 3 ppl posting and 4 different IPs. I assume im the 4th IP... usually we have 9-14 IPs so thats why i wonder if we should start. After doing this for a few years, im really used to ppl being absent on turkey day.

So, how have you guys been? We dont have thanksgiving over here. For us is juat a normal day
>>

Hay dont think canada dose anything for it.
Im at work so probs wont be able to post much

Well I guess we can just wait until tomorrow. I SHOULD be able to start on time, unless something randomly pops up tomorrow.

Ah, found this pic. I think it works pretty well for Stella. Someone asked me once what i meant with sport swimsuit.

Needs to be darker, though.

Ah, I sort of want to do the conversation today, but starting so late kills my mood... Ah, anything you guys want for tomorrow?

Ah, when you can, remind me of the name of Stella's school friend, please

"Tradition says the royal couple must live in the senate for 13 years after ascending to the throne, though?" -explains Lazard

That's right.
In order to soak in the traditions and laws of the elven kingdom, the new royal couple is expected to basically live between the senate room and their bedroom above it.

It's a type of house arrest of sorts, isn't it?

Go to sleep in the backroom, make heirs, wash up, dress up, then go back to the senate all day.

Well, its not as if there will be meetings every day, but in the days when the senate is off, you need to listen to the peoples complains. I mean, give audience to the people.

13 years is a long time, but for the long-lived elves, it isn't a long time at all!

"Eh...?" - our 'eh?' face must look amazing

Or perhaps we're 囧-ing?

Yeah, there's no way we can do that, you know? As a human, we can't do that!
Besides, we have way too much to do!
That's why, we'll happily support Lazard and Sinoe's enthronement, yep.

Please do the responsible thing by following tradition, and for 13 years, go to the senate and pop out babies, alright?

Come think of it, what sort of intercenine struggles to the elves had that only these twins made it out alive!? Just how many siblings did they had in the beginning!?

As it turns out, elves have a traditionally low fertinilty rate, and their night life is actually very tame and relaxed, you know?

We've dyed Aritsu in our color and turned her extremely lewd (by elven standards), though! So much so, she's now interested in having sex as if she was a human! Lewd! Such a lewd princess!

Well, that's because normally elf couple spend a lot of time just holding hands and enjoying eachother's company, though.

It looks like they're (either sex) heavily influenced by their partner's drive though, which explains why Aritsu and Ellie have much much more of a libido than a normal elf, you see?

Ellie already had two children, and not even a decade has gone by! That's just amazing from an elf's standpoint, you see!?

By the way, I'm definitively making Aritsu a mommy! At least....

>Eight times over the next decade!
>Four times over the next decade!
>In the near future!
>Someday

Yup, lots of cute children.
By the way, this is not irresponsible, but family planning. Family planning, you know?
Because interratial couples like ours can't conceive unless they get the church's blessing to make it possible in the first place.

It's not as if we need permission, of course.
Is that it is not possible unless they give us a special blessing.

Thats why, this truly is family planning.

"Anyway, this is this, and that is that" -we say as we place a metaphorical it inside a box, and another metaphorical that inside another box.

Then we wrap both boxes and place them aside while our friends watch.

"Eldric...?" - Lyann blinks blinks while we do so
"Anyway, what do we need to do in order to support your wedding and ascension?" -we ask
"Ah! Well probably need to win against at least two large families that currently have the power in the senate. By the way, I am saying senate, but that's because I can't think of a more convenient term for a council of traditional elders from the largest families." -explains Sinoe

This twin is very responsible too, it seems.

They're both very good girls.
Uuuuh, I was so close to getting my hands on the both of them!

No, wait, since they came along with Lazard from the beginning, maybe not at all?
Rather, I guess I was lucky that Aritsu spent so much time with us that she got imprinted on us.
Yup, let's look at it that way.

*cough*

"Alright, so, military victory?" -asks Lyann
"It would be better if it was bloodless, right?" -Aritsu lowers her ears as she speaks

>Well, we could just bribe them

Let's identify what the other members of the Senate want in order to support Sinoe and Lazard. We can try to set them up against each other and entice them with what they want, which won't necessarily be money.

I realize that this means that Eldric won't become the Human King of an Elven Kingdom, and that's kind of disappointing.

>>
"Well, I guess we need to learn what would it take to have them give up political power." -we say while searching for an answer on the roof

There's nothing there.

Ah, no, wait, there's a small moth
But that doesn't really helps us

"Uhmm... the Lamore family is really interested in magical item creation, and the Ivotrina family have a deep interest in the strength of their bloodline." -says Aritsu while following our eyes towards the moth
"Bloodline strenght, uh? They don't marry their own cousins or stuff like that, do they?"
"No, no, they look for talented elves from other regions and add them to the family."
"Ah."

I wonder

>Maybe we can acquire some talented elven slaves to bribe the Ivotrina with?
>Maybe we could share some of our new identifying glasses with the Lamore, but that would destroy our monopoly on the knowledge of card slots
>Other

Perhaps we can bribe the Lamore family with Southern Enchantment research notes and alchemical furnaces instead of giving them Identify Glasses.
>>
>>866557
seconding >>866580
>>
>>866580
So... technological know-how instead of tools?
>>
>>866620
It's a combination of knowledge (research notes) and tools (alchemical furnaces).
Both items would have been made available to the Lamore family in the coming years, through smuggling and illicit trade through Alquia to the Heavenly Empire (Remember, there's a smuggler that's doing trade between Eopolis and Alquia that we didn't follow up on).

But the Identify Glasses are effectively state secrets, since only General Li has one pair (that he loaned to the Imperial Quartermaster) and Okaba (who didn't seem concerned with spreading the knowledge of the glasses, he just made one because it's convenient for him, and then just didn't bother spreading it or keeping it secret).

The research notes are in the Albion Academy's library of research theses, and while it was published, this world's current lack of research journals means that someone actually has to look it up to find it in the library.
So the Lamore's would have eventually found it, since I assume that they have agents going through the Albion Academy's library for useful knowledge all the time, but since they don't know about it yet, it still has value as a piece of leverage.

The Alchemical Furnaces we would provide are of the older model, not the new prototype ones that the Empire is building. The Lamore's, once the Yellowleaves Kingdom becomes a member of the UN, would have been able to send researchers and envoys to the Heavenly Empire and would have acquired Furnaces on their own, but since this is something they currently can't get but will get once they join, but don't yet realize it is something they would have gotten anyway, it still holds value as a bargaining chip.

So, the furnace that can craft glassteel instead of palladium, right?
Glassteel is the one that is currently replacing the imperial guards gear, while palladium is still in refining.
It should look like we are giving them next gen tech, while it is already outdated. Seems good?
>>
>>866664
Yes, that is correct.
Glassteel is still technically the state of the art magitech in the Empire, since it's the best that they have in production.
Palladium, while better, isn't refined yet.
>>
>>866664
Oh, you wanted Stella's friends and classmates:
Cuadra - Knight, dwarf, and a little too friendly with Stella for Eldric’s comfort.

Goda - Knight, young man seemed rather average, but had a good build. Rather, in a military academy aimed at future officers, this made him unremarkable.

Duan - Warrior, A robust goliath with dark blonde hair, he looked to be the type that no matter what he ate, he would gain weight. His arms were heavily muscular, indicating that he worked hard, but his torse was ( ) shaped, regardless

Viktor - Warrior

Daniel - Knight

Adrianna - Knight 20/Singer 20. Felt that Stella took her rightful place as the class idol, and was really mad at Stella for being so close to Alard until she learned that Stella is still only 11 and Alard is really Stella’s cousin.
Leche - Adrianna’s best friend.
>>

Alright

***

We decide on gaining support from the Lamore family, and use their support to sit Sinoe and Lazard on the Yellowleaves throne.

For this, we will give them access to the design specs for an alchemical furnace, so that they can produce glassteel, rather than relying on dungeon drops.

"...is that so?" - Lazard seems to be having complicated feelings about this- "Won't this increase their political power later, when they have control over the glasteel in the kingdom, and maybe the continent?"

>It doesnt matter, because it'll be outdated by then

"While you have a point, there's already a new prototype material that's even better being developed.
"But do you think that they could turn on us after they gain more power? Should we offer something weaker, such as shield technology? Something everyone will get later but they can get now?"

He has a point that the Lamore's could become too powerful, and might try to dominate the Senate against the throne.
Also, when they learn of Palladium, they might think they got cheated with glassteel furnaces (which they technically are being cheated), and they might hold a grudge.

"Alright, then we'll go with that plan. It will take at least a few weeks for them to respond, even if we send a message to them right now." -says Aritsu

Sinoe agrees, and nods

Alright, with that done, we can enjoy dinner now.

The cheif cook says the meal is mostly sea-based, as Lyann said that the guests came from a land-bound kingdom, and so the ched hopes to delight them with new tastes that they can rarely, if ever enjoy.

We feel a little guilty about it, since the cook choose to prepare octopuss meat (loot of course) and it reminds us of giving Squidward some play time after dinner, since we are in the island right now.

"Its really different." - comments Lazard as he tries it out

Well, its his job to test food before the princesses do.

"Is it good?" -Sinoe looks at him, waiting for his veredict
"It's not bad." -he says
"But is it good?"
"It's not bad" -he smiles
"Meanie."

"Ritsu, open up. Say aaah" -we hold a couple of chopsticks with some octopuss meat on them, dipped in some spicy sauce
"President, we're in front of my sister---" -she blushes softly as we insist- "A-aaah"
"Oh, you really did it. I didn't think you would." -we say in surprised falsetto
"PRESIDENT!" -she says angrily as she blushes all over

"Oh, they get along so nicely." - smiles Lazard
"Yes, yes." -nods nods Sinoe

"N-not you two, too!" -cries Aritsu

Thus, we gently tease the honor student for a bit.

By the way, everyone liked the meal. Imperial cuisine is heavily sea-based, albeit it tasted some of our courage since we aren't used to thinking of jellyfish as food... but it was pretty good.

Our friends did not know what jellyfish was so they really didn't had any preconceptions of it, and just enjoyed it, judging it by taste alone.

"It was a really nice meal." -says Lyann next to us, as she picks up a handkerchief and starts cleaning the corner of our mouth
"Ah, I can do it on my own..."
"But..." -she pouts
"Fine..."

"Oh, they get along well too, don't they" -says Aritsu
"Yes, they do."
"So nice"

Now its our turn to blush

*** A few weeks later ***

We are soon to embark with Mako towards Alquia in an important diplomatic mission

Our objective is to secure the Alquian throne for Mako. For that, we are sailing at the head of the imperial navy, along with 31 new rockit ships, equipped with the new shields, lightning ballista, and mana cannons.

And a tree, so we can [Treestride] as needed. The tree is in our private cabin.

"Ah, this time, I am a little happy to be in a ship." -says Mako as she blushes a little bit

Right, she has bad memories of ships, right?

"Its alright, because we'll be with you!"

""Besides, very little will actually change, I think. We'll be counting on Eldric to [Treestride] back and forth every day, but we'll still go to classes properly. We'll just come back to the ship at night." -says Aritsu as she nods slowly
"Actually, isn't this a great chance to coordinate your sleep and enjoy a normal schedule with us?" -we add
"Is that, so?" - the pretty princess leans her head slightly to the side, then smiles- "Alright."

Wait a minute, we lost a few weeks in this?
What about the projects we were working on? The level grinding we were doing?

What about our errands and tasks?
The smuggler in the Eopolis warehouse district that's smuggling between Eopolis and Alquia and using our dock warehouses for it?

Talking to General Li to have spies and intelligence gathered on the current situation in Alquia, ahead of our diplomatic mission?

What happened to making smaller rock-it arrays to make hovercarts and other machines that would help with ship building and speed up the schedule for ship construction?
>>
Also, going back through the archives, we did actually pay the 75,000G to build the new research center out of our own pocket.

Also, we were told that the Alquian turbine-equipped ships are much faster than our rock-it ships. They can take a roundabout route using sea routes and still get to the destination faster than our rock-it ships taking a straight line route.

We're talking an enormous difference in speed here, and the fact that Eldric and the players didn't realize what this would mean for our upcoming battles at the time really shows just how complacent Eldric's happy daily life has made him.

Lyann, Zoe, and Stella are higher level than him now.

Yes, but a building isnt built in a few weeks and we've been going day-by-day for a long time and I really want to get things moving again. We used to skip weeks all the time, but somehow ended doing everyday for a long time.

Then here are the projects that we had discussed to get started, because if we don't mention them, then they won't get started during the timeskip, like so many of our previous projects:
1. Hybrid breeding program to cross Miel's bloodline with that of a Heven Jungle Honey Fairy hive, to produce stronger, more robust honey fairies that are also loyal and industrious.

2. Getting the succubus tribe that Kiana and Aurora were a part of to settle in New Hope, Eldric's hometown, and to begin producing high-quality glass test tubes, flasks, and beakers so that he can put his chemical engineering knowledge to use.

3. Get a progress report on the Inter-Dimensional Probe ship that is the current focus of our Albion research team.

4. Progress report on Eldric's level, and if it's close to Lyann, Zoe, Stella, or Baldric's level.

5. Progress on creating the linked journals between the Northern Coalition's centers of learning and the Heavenly Empire's think tank, to speed up research.

6. Linda's progress in creating XCOM's research and development division.

7. Meeting with Brass and Python, as well as Miiyau, and setting up requests at Adventurer Guilds, to track down the origin of the misinformation campaign against Plant Monsters.

8. The infodump on the Silverspire Forest.

9. See if the purchase of land next to Yellowleaves for Miel has been finished, and if we can give it to her now. Discuss with Miel if she wants a small ceremony; this is an important land deal between Eopolis and the Miel Hegemony, and it should be treated with gravitas and respect.

10. Meet with General Li about gathering intelligence about Alquia before our diplomatic fleet arrives.

11. Speak with Honoria about getting bricks that can be used in glass-making furnaces.

12. Check in with the hive that's growing in New Hope, and see their progress and if they need anything.

13. Ask Tanis about the unique spelltricks she knows, and learn them from her. Reward her with lots of love.

14. Give a house in New Hope to Nina so that she and her sisters are no longer Monsters but a Civilized Race, and help out the Harpies who are still in the wild.

15. Check in with Dusk and see how the maid training of Aurora and Kiyana is going.

Other things that aren't as important or need more time for setup:
A. Set up the live-fire combat tests in the Jade Islands for the [ERROR] invasion, preparing the needed equipment and troops.
B. Begin transferring troops from the member nations of the UN to Peacekeeper Command, and the higher-level and more loyal troops to the XCOM Project.
C. Get teams of accountants ready to properly audit the resources and incomes of the nations in order to prepare budgets for Peacekeeper Command and XCOM.
