You closed a couple tabs about nutrition supplements, along one about a Mecha anime, and a last one with porn you've left open. You then went through the Doll manufacturer's website

Dolls were mass-produced from a blank humanoid template, and then given 'Mods' to be customized according to the client's wishes. Larger breast size. A youthful face. Cat ears.

There were rumors about Dolls which had gone out of control, and somehow, were managing to somehow reprogram their Mod-cells to temporarily weaponize their bodies. But there wasn't any mainstream press coverage about it - they seemed to be trying to hide it all. You had seen reports on imageboards about how tiny child-replacement doll had suddenly picked up a policeman's gun and shot several people with deadly accuracy, or how a gay man's muscular companion bludgeoned him to death with a lamp post. There seemed to be a correlation between certain characteristics and how a Doll could be dangerous.

You sighed. Was it really safe to order one of these things?

You had several options to "customize" your doll. It felt like one of those boob slider features you've seen in some games, but much more complete. You pondered on the threat it could pose to you as well if she went out of control. Maybe it would be just better to leave them all at the minimum?

You rubbed your temples, unable to remove the somewhat paranoid ideas from your head.

You took the toolbox, and started to run back - but along the way, you met some kind of Jojo Doll which you managed to avoid, but you couldn't avoid another one which had flanked you from another street. She had fixated on attacking you, and has started to stretch out her legs like whips towards you, as you shielded yourself with Sayako. She looked identical to Nami from One Piece - it wasn't uncommon for Dolls to be ordered to look like someone's waifu. And One Piece was still running after all of these years.

Slim? That meant speed. You still didn't know what tallness would equate to though - but you knew there were was a triumvirate of "Brawn, Dexterity and Exotics" when it came to threats. Yours had an advantage in mass, hence, Brawn, which allowed you to tank Nami's slashes until now, but you wouldn't be able to do this forever.

You used Sakayo as a shield, you ducked in through her barrages, and then with an outstretched hand, Vortex'd her chest's Mod-cells into a whirlwind of flesh and bone, crippling her anatomy, until her body went limp, and it fell to the ground.

Did you take it too far? Did you kill her?

You approached the body, and put a hand on her throat. A heartbeat. She was still alive. You checked her Mod-cells, perhaps you could try to "cure" her like you did with Sayako.

But you quickly noticed a problem.

"Can you save her?" Sayako asked.

You detected that Nami-Doll was missing something in her cranium as you laid your hand on it.

"No" you replied. "I...She... She is missing her brain."

Last time, you cured Sayako by "cleansing" her brain - but this Doll just had an empty hole. It was like if she was a zombie of some kind.

"There is nothing I can do" you admitted.

But she did have Mod-cells. And you could feel them waning - she was soon going to die. You had a crazy idea. You had to survive, and more power was never a bad thing to have.

What if you transplanted her Mod-Cells to Sayako?

You attempted to transport just a tinge of her height to your Doll. You held them together, each with a hand, and gently, the transport was made. You could now feel Nami's Height Modcells in Sayako.

"What.. What happened, Master?" Sayako asked.

"I can... Make you stronger, apparently. You can absorb what makes her powerful, via me, as a proxy."

Strangely, Sayako's "shortness" and Nami's "tallness" Modcells both co-existed within her, cancelling each other out when it came to physical appearance, but still remaining latent as Modcells you could use.

You looked at her. "Would you be alright with this?"

Sakayo nodded, taking a decision surprisingly quickly. "Whatever Master chooses." she admitted. "Sayako will always be Sayako for her Master, no matter how you change me."

You looked back at Nami. Doing this felt wrong. You cringed at the thought of having Sayako's appearance change.

But you didn't have a choice. You had a limited amount of time left to make a decision - would you harvest, or not?

Sayako was shorter than 5" before. X in shortness is just a way to measure her height relative to the original chargen.

You both returned home, and when you entered, Sayaka unzipped her hoodie, to expose more cleavage and alleviate how tight it has become.

You left the toolbox in your dimly-lit kitchen. There was no electric power, and it was starting to become night. You lit a few candles, and started to pour yourself and Sayako some milk and cereal to eat.

"Cooking could be a problem." you said. "I wonder how well those things can smell."

You have one of those things. Gently test her sensory, mental, and physical limitations during part of the night. Try to find out how much sleep and food she needs compared to a normal human. Information is key.

For the rest of the night, sleep in shifts, no need to risk it all right away, and you and Sayako may be somewhat tired from before, making the rest even more precious.

Nobody cares too much about that. Some people take their dogs or dakimakuras on dates, it's no longer a surprise to see weird stuff.
