Right, now that's all done. There'll be a few dumps so please don't post until I am done. Thank you.

HAHA.

TIME FOR TRANSHUMANISM.
>>
First things first: Traits and you being a Cyborg.

Thanks to the advancements made by Vinson Dynamics, you now have +2 to all of your stats. You now also have new trait: Cyborg.

[As a Cyborg you are stronger and faster than a normal human being or pilot. However, you are more affected by Arc weaponry and electricity]

The second thing is that you can now choose a single trait from this list.
>Cold Hearted: Thanks to your augmentation you don't exactly feel... loving anymore. You are immune to charm and more resistant to seduction.
>Eagle Eyes: Thanks to your training as a sniper, you are unusually perceptive of things.

Also, you get to choose one Cybernetic Augment that can give you another +2 to a stat, or a +1 to your Primary Skills. You can also write in if you want a split between two stats.

Next post will be about your time in the Academy.
>>
>>858962
>>Eagle Eyes: Thanks to your training as a sniper, you are unusually perceptive of things.
+1 Guts +1 Athletics
>>
>>858962
>Eagle Eyes: Thanks to your training as a sniper, you are unusually perceptive of things.
>>
You have 6 points to spend between your Pilot Skill, and your Titan Skill. You can gain more points based on your actions during the next few years.

The second thing is training: Do you continue being a Sniper, or do you branch out your specializations?
>Heavy Weapons [+1 Accuracy, +1 Athletics, +1 Guts, gain specialization: Heavy Weapons]
>Sniping 2.0 [+1 Accuracy, +1 Wits, +1 Subterfuge gain specialization: Sniper Rifles +1]
>Demolitions [+2 Guts, +1 Athletics, gain specialization: Demolitions]
>Close Quarters Combat: [+1 Athletics, +2 Guts, gain specialization: CQC]
>Shock Trooper: [+2 Athletics, +1 Guts, gain specialization: SMG's and Shotguns]
>Rifleman: [+1 Accuracy, +1 Athletics, +1 Wits, gain specialization: Rifles]
>Write in.

The Third, and final thing, is comrades. If you focus on your studies and training you can get an extra Pilot or Titan point. If you don't, then you get two friends.
>Extra Pilot or Titan point.
>An extra friend.

Alright. That should be everything so now you can all make your decisions.
>>
>>858962
>Eagle Eyes: Thanks to your training as a sniper, you are unusually perceptive of things.
Titans are too pure for seduction anyway. They don't need it.

I assume we'll be picking the augmentation later since we don't have any primary skills yet?
>>
>>858983
>Close Quarters Combat: [+1 Athletics, +2 Guts, gain specialization: CQC]

Always good to be a boss at both long and short range.
>>
>>858985
Yes. The augmentation will technically be given to you when you 'graduate' so to speak.
>>
>>858983
>>Rifleman: [+1 Accuracy, +1 Athletics, +1 Wits, gain specialization: Rifles]
>An extra friend.
>>
>>858983
>>858985

Jumped the gun. Sorry man.
>Rifleman: [+1 Accuracy, +1 Athletics, +1 Wits, gain specialization: Rifles]
We won't get fucked if someone gets close. It also boosts all the stats we already have at II.

>An extra friend.
Now we have a full squad. Actually, do Titans even have squads? I haven't found anything out about it.
>>
>>858997
>Titans
Pilots. Do pilots have squads. I swear I'm not dyslexic.
>>
>>858983
>Rifleman: [+1 Accuracy, +1 Athletics, +1 Wits, gain specialization: Rifles]
>An extra friend.
>>
>>859015
In this. Yes. Pilots can go solo, or can squad up with others in larger battles.

>>858983
Right, so I'm seeing this so far:
Rifleman, Eagle Eyes, and an extra friend. And the Cyborg augment is still on the waiting list.

Did I get that right?
>>
>>859036
Yes
>>
>>859036
Pretty much.
>>
Very well then, writing.
>>
I've also noticed that there were no votes for putting in your 6 points between Pilot skill and Titan skill. There must be a minimum of 1 point in either skill.

The first year is always the hardest, and for damn good reason. Getting used to the jump kit is like trying to learn how to swim for the first time, or how to drive a car. You either pick it up quickly, or you fucking suck at it.

That was the first year. The second year involved Titan piloting. Luckily since you were trained and educated by Vinson Dynamics about the finer points of Titan combat you knew equally well how to pilot one, and how to blow one up. That year went way better, and thanks to that you actually had enough free time to make a few friends as well.

PICK TWO:
>EG-L: Remember that human brain you found that kickstarted your new and zany life? Well this is her in Cyborg form. She's also your handler to make sure you don't do anything stupid.
>Hong: A literal Ninja. And a damn good one at that. All-round nice guy and pleasant to be around, but you're pretty damn sure the simulacrum's a sadist.
>James Lorn: Smart guy. Really smart. Knows his way around tech like none other. Sadly it seems to suffer from crippling anti-sociability making it nearly impossible to hold a decent conversation for longer than a minute.
>Jessie Durand: Uh oh. Ever since Jameson's disappeared thanks to your... help... she's been out looking for him. VD wants you to keep her close, but you aren't sure if it's the other way around with her.

Oh, oops. I'm voting 4 pilot, 2 Titan. Since we're better on foot being a cyborg. The Titan can handle itself.

James Lorn: Smart guy. Really smart. Knows his way around tech like none other. Sadly it seems to suffer from crippling anti-sociability making it nearly impossible to hold a decent conversation for longer than a minute.

EG-L (or Eagle in some cases) has been your handler since nearly the beginning. She never really liked you on account of the whole stealing her brain shtick you did all those years ago, but during your Academy years you finally managed to get her to warm up to you. Well, as much as warming up a cold-hearted, calculative cyborg can be.

Of course she was still your handler, but at least the ice was broken and the aura of professionalism drifted off and was replaced with amiablness.

Hong was a different story.

You know that saying, "Make sure you have a plan to kill everyone you meet?" Well Hong has three for each man he has met. And four with you. That's why he likes you. In that strange... murderous sort of way.

As stories go: he was apparently a long-standing IMC operative for some years before a real nasty 'accident' that fucked him up real good. Luckily they managed to uncover what remained of his body and made a prototype simulacrum to house it. Now he's faster, stronger, and has all the skills he had in the past and then some. The one downside is his apparent amnesia and his desire to hurt things.
A lot.

Still... not a bad man at all, and is quite chatty and enjoys teaching you a thing or two about close quarters combat and how to master your jump kit. You're still thankful for that.

However, the years went on by and eventually you graduated. A month later the Titan Wars had begun. And VD wanted you at the front to test their new hardware.

Almost done guys. Next few bits should be quick.

>Also you may now pick your +2 stat augment (or +1 to Pilot or Titan skill), and allot your 6 points into your Pilot or Titan skill [minimum 1 point in one of the skills].

>>859147
There is already one vote for 4 Pilot, and 2 Titan so that vote has been saved.
>>
>>859435
I'll vote for the augment to be for Pilot skills.
>>
>>859435
+ 2 stat augment
3 and 3 for skills

This seems good, although I almost lean towards titan skill a bit more.

+2 stat augment
4 and 2 for pilot and titan skill
>>
Alright so I'll sally on for a bit longer then.

I'll put +2 Stat Augment for accuracy since you're a sniper/rifleman and go for a balanced 3 for 3 with Pilot/Titan then.

Is that cool?

Sure, it's cool with me.

The first few years of the Titan Wars was best considered to be a slaughterhouse. The Atlas- class Titan strode across dilapidated streets and open fields with equal efficiency, annihilating everything in its path from Militia infantry to Gorilla Tanks to Paladins.

During these conflicts, you participated mostly as a
>Pilot
>Titan Pilot

Of course Hong and EG-L were with you as well. Hong participated mostly as a Pilot. Infiltrating places of interest with his cloak kit before simply killing everyone inside, transforming the place into a gore-filled abattoir overnight.

Eagle focused on logistics, mostly. Managing supplies and bringing them to frontlines. When she wasn't doing that, she was in her Titan raining death on her enemies with deadly accurate missile barrages and chaingun fire. It was hard for you to know where Eagle stopped, and the Titan began. They moved in near-perfect tandem.

Kills racked up, and reputation gained, you became well known as a reliable sniper and rifleman when range needed to be closed. Eventually you were commissioned to be aboard an Andromeda-class carrier, The Odyssey. You were assigned to protect the CINCFRONT Vice Admiral Marcus Graves and his executive officer James MacAllan.

>You befriended Graves during this time.
>You befriended MacAllan and (sort of) sympathized with his grievances of treatment of Frontier citizens.
>You kept your mouth shut and eyes forward.

Lore is freaking scarce, but consider TF1 tech was available around this time.

Also Pilot has won so you get an extra point in pilot.

There is a tie between you keeping your mouth shut, or befriending Graves so we need a tie breaker.

>>859883
I'll roll since I already voted.
>>
>>859895
And Marcus Graves wins. Writing.

Unless you want me to roll.
>>
>>859914
You can if you want. I'm fine with how it went. It does look like everyone got killed by Turkeys though.
>>
>>859777
You knew something was going down in the Odyssey. Everyone knew. Marcus and James stopped getting along shortly after you arrived. The quarreling between the two was almost daily, and it was always about how the IMC treated Frontier Civilians. You were completely neutral when MacAllan began to angrily question you about the treatment of civilians. You counter-mentioned that you've seen what both sides can do, and it isn't pretty.

However, during these arguments you sided with the more rational Graves than the idealistic MacAllan. The former appreciated your assistance, and the latter absolutely hated you. Called you a blind idiot among other unpleasant things. You didn't care. You've been called worse.

You were one of the first people to be held at gunpoint when MacAllan and his damnable mutineers took the damn ship. For some reason though the bastard decided not to shoot you and instead kicked your ass into a lifeboat with Graves and the other loyalists and left you dead in the void.

That was fifteen years ago, and you never forgave that bastard. Then you had the poor luck to assigned to-

Demeter. The 'Heart' of the Frontier. For the IMC at least. The number one refueling plant in the sector that connected the Frontier to the Core Worlds. It was vital, and heavily fortified because of that.

And then MacAllan pulled his ass out from an uncharted sector of the Frontier and somehow leads the Militia on a successful slew of missions that opens one giant hole for the Militia to exploit for one massive gambit.

And it fucking worked.

You remember jumping into the droppods. The feeling of entering the shock layer with your fellow pilots. You remember the intense battles around the Cores. How some fell to the Milita, how others were taken back or held by the IMC, and how some were simply destroyed; become mushroom clouds in the distance. Luckily, you weren't near one of those.

And then you heard the AI announce the Reactor Core going critical. And you knew. You just fucking knew that it was damn over.

You barely made it to the last dropship with Kuben Blisk. You watched as you had to leave your fellow pilots and men behind as Spyglass initiated the command override. And then you heard MacAllan beg for Graves to switch sides.

You and Blisk shared a glance, and then scoffed at the absurdity of it all as Demeter burned.

And guess what? Your old friend turned, and left you behind. Maybe you were too hardlined, maybe you were too loyal, or maybe he knew that you would try to stop him as a friend. Either way, he was gone, and you were all that was left.

You were pissed. And stuck on the wrong side of the Frontier alongside every other poor IMC bloke that never saw it coming.

The next five years were a struggle. There were victories, but there were more losses. The IMC pushed, but the Frontier pushed back harder. One-third of the Frontier was lost over the course of five years, and somewhere inbetween Spyglass went rogue with his fleet and was declared Remnant by General Marder. Since then thing's have been getting worse, and that was before everyone learned of Marder's Fold Weapon and how it overloaded and annihilated Typhon in the process.

At that point, you had enough. Fuck the IMC, and fuck the Militia. You saved credits, payed off your debts, bought a light carrier with your excess funds and hired you only two friends in the entire frontier. You had everything you needed to become a Merc. You still needed a crew, but EG-L was damnably good at that sort of thing.

And that is how you became a Merc, and this is where your story begins.
