Welcome back to the Demon Invasion Quest.
Part One: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/44086/
Seems most civ threads are dying though.

This is part two. Last time Roc, a demon lord, was summoned by a cult of tieflings looking for revenge on a human kingdom that slaughter hundreds of tieflings. Roc spawned into a dungeon with four other demons. Twelve tieflings stand before him, pleading to help and gives Roc leadership promissing a foot hold in this plane of existance. Baskalon, a tiefling weilding an ax, is a named companion who represents the cult of the tieflings.

The group sets off and finds a caravan of humans, kills them and then takes four hostages. They return to the base and then partially explored a ruin to the north and found a mysterious pickax which is needed in their start for gathering resources.

Last time we left him at night, a day past since last and it is now the morning if a new day.
So now the ones who are wanting to join are all caught up, I can begin!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Roc, suspended in air, stands before the sun rise, nothing from across the great divide was close to this sight. He woke up far before the others as demons require little rest so he decided to watch over the entrance of the base. The great demon begins to drift closer and closer to the ground as he hears the rest of his group begin to stir. Today we need to begin to build up our base because it is a small underground set of rooms Roc thinks to himself as he begins to see a demon and a few tieflings leave the stoney rubble that is our entrance.

Baskalon approaches Roc as he lands and asks him what's the plan for today. There wasn't really a plan, thinks Roc and tells Baskalon - -

What does Roc do?

- - 'A palisade, we need to have fortifications around our base, with the tools I found in the ruins and the logs from the forest you got yesterday we should not have much trouble.' Baskalon agrees and he tells the other tieflings of the job. Excited, the tieflings break open the crate of tools and grab 3 saws, 2 construction hammers and rope. Taking logs from the cart and placing them in a rectangle around the edge of the forest and the entrance to the stone dungeon below. Surprisingly they work fast and finish within two hours since beginning. The Palisade stands a little over Baskalon and the front of the wooden perimeter faces north with it's gate a half foot taller than the rest. The palisade gives much room for buildings inside the log fence.

The fence is sturdy and gives a much needed feeling of security from the days of none for so long. The tieflings celebrate and admire their handy work which is what they feel will set the pace for the days to come. The tools are placed back into the crates. Things are going along quite nicely, Roc thinks to himself as he witnesses the craft work of the tieflings.

Roc decides it is time to pay the prisoners a visit and he has a plan to make it fun. The powerful demon walks to the storage area and picks four swords for a little game and then strides into the altar room where the prisoners are held and they look up at him as he drops the four swords at their feet. They watch him worriedly as the blades clang to the stone floor. The three mages working on their research look up as if startled and one says, 'well good thing we finished this seems so much more interesting.' Roc nods at the three tiefling mages and then turns back to the prisoners.

'We are going to play a game. The one who survives gets to live. The rest will be for a good cause' Roc says leaning closer. 'I do hope it ends out to be fun, if not..'

'You want us to kill each other?' the regal merchant exclaims as he stares at the swords. Roc replies, 'if you didn't want to fight you shouldn't of came along with us, what did you expect to be doing? I don't need a ransom. it's entirely your fault really.' More tiefling walk in to see what is going on and baskalon leans against a wall of the room with his ax.

'You think that you can intimidate us? We wont be broken! I'm not joining your cult!' the man in the guard outfit yells as he picks up a sword an rushes Roc. 'Ah here we go, we have a contender.' Roc says as the man gets closer, before the man could swing Roc takes his hellish hand and slams the man to the ground breaking the guard's arm. 'it seems i have broken you.' The women screams and then begins to choke as her own blood rises out her mouth. She turns to see the merchant, wild eyed, slit her throat. The tieflings laugh and some clap. The other demons came into the room unnoticed.

'You killed her!' the young man cries as he stares at the woman watching her fall to the floor bleeding out. He then regains his composure and grabs a sword, charging the merchant and stabbing him in the stomach. The merchant, still surprised any of this is happening, looks down at the blade as if in disbelief. 'Looks like we have a winner,' Roc says as he pulls the three bodies into a pile. 'Prepare the bodies, I'm going to use them to call on a few friends.' Roc turns to the young man and looks as he drops to his knees and lets go of his blade. The young man begins to weep, tears and blood cover his face as he is knelt in the pool of red.

Roc grabs the three bodies and piles them up on a stone altar as the young man still weeps. Roc looks through the bodies, the guard still moving.

'what are you going to do?' the guard says in a broken soft voice as he looks up at Roc. Roc only smiles as he breaks the guards neck and then begins to chant. The Demonic words flow through his tongue and the bodies raise with an eerie power that drifts through the air. The wind picks up and begins to swirl around the three bodies as if possessed by some poltergeist. Fire and the smell of sulfur begin to fill the room as the wind whips and swirls in a circle around the three dead bodies. The first body, the guard, gets sucked into a glowing red portal and disappears into the great divide. The second and third begin to move past to the ethereal realm of madness. Smoke and fire twist and turn as the great demon chants. The wind moves the robes and cloth of the onlookers as they become enchanted at the beautifully twisted portal.

The winds slow down and the smoke begins to fade. As the dust settles a flapping sound can be heard as two faint figures bob up and down. These red creatures begin to move the dust away from them and can be clearly seen as two small red creatures with warped horns crowning their heads. Beside them are two other creatures from the ethereal plane across the great divide. They look as if they are dogs, flesh dangles down their wicked body and flames eternally lit across it's body. These creatures were summoned by Roc and they recognize their lord and leader. they perform a small bow and look around their surroundings.

'You summoned me master?' the imp croaks and turns to the bloodied young man, 'it seems we missed the fun.'

The three mages look around in delight and tell Roc they have finished their research and is ready to delve back into the books as they are deeply interested in them. They say the fire bolt has been improved and they can successfully cast them more often.

Roc decides that magic would play a very important soon and we must learn as much as we can. Imps, with their natural affinity in magic and mischief, have also been assigned to help the Tiefling mages. The tieflings begin to work on the task at hand.

Roc's mighty gaze turns toward the forest. He believes the trek from the base to the road through the forest helped him understand the importance of this key location and it's role it plays within his scheme. The newly created hell hounds would be perfect for exploration within these environments as the hell hound is still a hound and hounds have a great sense of direction and smell. Roc sends the two hell hounds and two tiefling handlers to scout the forest to get a better understanding of his surroundings.

Roc then tells some tieflings to set up a patrol around the palisade so there are no surprises.

The Hounds and the two tieflings sent to explore the forest came back an hour later carrying a dagger. They claim to have found the lost tiefling's items as the body didn't have them. The dagger was found on top of a stump almost as if it was placed there by someone.

They also tell news of a path they found that would be easier for the cart and the rest of the caravan to go through making the distance between the base and the road a little easier to traverse. They also found that there is a good amount of small game as they found a hare which they brought back.

The party has found loot.

Combining rolls. 25, 20

After the news of the forest Roc decides it would be best if he also explored the ruins to the north as well. Roc gathers the two Hell Hounds and the two Tieflings who previously went to the forest and told them to go with him to the ruins as it is also close to the base. The two tieflings agree and go with the hounds and Roc. The ruins began to show as it was situated on top of a hill, it's stone work and the greenery growing begins to become more refined the closer they crept. Roc immediately walked to the building with the runes etched in the arch of the entrance and, bringing a quill and parchment, drew the symbols on it. The ruins did not change the last time he saw them but with the dogs he saw more of it as he rushed through it the first time.

Roc admires the stonework of the once past kingdom as it is intricate and moves through almost as if it looked like it flowed like water. It's curves and cuts were smooth and it's arches were well refined. The great structure's integrity is a monument to the engineering achievements alone but it also still looks something enchanted. The hell hounds seem to have found something as the tieflings start to jog to them. Roc was consumed by admiration and did not notice at first but the hounds found inside one of the larger buildings a set of stairs leading down to another set of doors.

The structure seemed to be important and it too has runes inscribed into the stonework above the arches and on the crowning. The tieflings managed to open the two large doors and stepped inside. The room was large and much of it seemed to be in good condition as it seemed to not have been disturbed by weather and looters as if they were the only ones to be allowed to be inside it's stone walls.

The chamber led to a door which was rusted shut and wasn't going to be able to be opened, from this side at least. In the center of the room was an orb of some description and was flanked by statues of old men and young women. Kings and queens of some bygone age. They looked human and relatively peaceful. There was nothing of note until looking upward they noticed runes similar to an ancient language Roc swears he knows. Roc draws all the runes and symbols as he could with the paper and the ink he has.

Roc and his party leaves the room and returns to their base.

Do you guys want any other forms of demons? we can summon demons pretty much as long as we have souls. Mana is a Leader-only item as it affects no one else if he is out of mana. so Mages and imps can cast spells without using the mana pool described. unless of course, if you guys want the mana pool to be pulled from mages and imps as well and it be a civ-wide item where as every magic missile pulls from the pool as well.

Maybe some kind of brute that we can use as a seige weapon/shock infantry. Greater demons seem more like elites rather acting as that role. Maybe also a demon that focuses on crafting/soul manipulation.

How much would it cost to summon a named demon?

How do demons get stronger? Just more souls and age?

The ruins proved to be mainly uneventful except the mysterious room and it's insides. The party from the ruins and the forest is once again called upon Roc as he decides that the surroundings of the base must be secured. The next step would be to survey the plains which the base is situated on the edge of. The plains are hills of flowing grass and a few streams that ran threw it. Beasts roam the grasses as Roc and the pary begin to look more closely at the land before them. Rocks and wild grass dot the landscape and one stake of wood protrudes from a hill with a few more rocks on it. Roc remembers that this was where he was to originally place a quarry or a mine but never got around to do it. The Great uneven terrain before them stretches uninterrupted for a few miles except for the beasts that walk the land. The only structure near is that ruin that is north of the plains itself living on the edge of the opposite side.

This land would be good for building upon if the amount of resources is plentiful. The only reason not to is distance between here and cities far off like the bay of Askabar and the fort-city far north. Roc watches the clouds overhead drift in the blue sky. the sun begins to lay it's head down for it's well deserved rest. The sky itself seems enraged in the whole event and burns brightly as if in defiance of the sun's wishes.

Roc and his party returns to the base.

An imp flutters by as it finishes his research with the tiefling mages and the other imp. Roc walks past them and looks at the prisoner. He is now hunched up against the wall shaken and more or less not caring about the Demon lord looming over him.

'What can you tell me about these two cities, Askabar and the fort-city in the north?' Roc inquires in his deep gravely voice. The man then lifts his head up from his shell and looks at the demon. He stares at him for a while and rubs his face with his arm to wipe away tears and dried blood.

'It would of- - of been my first time to - to Aska-Askabar.' the young man managed to get out. 'I'm from Carrien, the city north.' He continues but then he puts his head down again. 'It's on a hill, it-it has the best bread in all the land...' he mumbles.

Roc believes there isn't much to get out of the man as he isn't stable. An imp flutters toward Roc and he tells him that the research is done. They didn't find much though. They may need another book to improve the fire bolt any further. They did however improve the enchantment and found another spell. immolation, an area spell. Roc nods his head and then walks out of the altar room and goes to talk to some of the Tieflings. He asks if there is anything they know about Askabar or Carrien. They say that Askabar is a major port city that was once used to smuggle tieflings out. Carrien was a Tiefling fort that fell after the human invasion onto their land. The fort is on a hill with only one entrance and service tunnels accessed only from the inside. They also talk about the Tower to the west, they heard about tieflings that are hold up there and are repelling any human advances.

Alright since I guess you died I'll just use those rolls somehow. [also that crit was nice]

Roc decides that since we live so close to the forest it would be best to explore the land of trees more thoroughly. The previous endeavor into exploration with their surroundings was quite successful with the task and the explorers responsible were called once again before the sun shines no more through out the sky. Roc and his entourage delve into the forest with the intent of understanding it more and learning of it's well-kept secrets. This time the group had Roc was with them as last time they found the dagger of the fallen tiefling place in a peculiar way on a stump.

Roc and the party walk into the ever darkening forest and each winding branch flows and moves as the sun lays it's head for a weary rest and so the day ends. Under the shroud of the night the party explores the forest. The wooden maze gives way to the sight of the clear night sky as they move into a familiar opening. The same opening where they once made camp when hunting the caravan of humans. The faint glow the hell hounds produce is not enough light to justify exploring deep into the forest as it seems to forbid the travel of the group.

Just as the group was about to return to the base they noticed the body of the tiefling is now missing and that they can hear a faint, but audible, sound from deep into the woods. The sound of rustling and moving as the party looks onto it's direction they cannot see it's maker. Just as Roc stares deeper into it's presence the sound stops and just as quickly as it stopped a creature jumped from the brush and attacks the group.

I don't plan on playing right now, but I LOVE the art!
>>
A wolf with a coat as white as snow and large as a lion pounces on one of the tieflings, a female. Soon an arrow whips through the air and strikes Roc in the chest. Roc shrugs off the attack and hits the wolf off of the tiefling and picks her up. Another arrow pangs off of Roc and another hits a tree. Another Wolf jumps from the brush and more arrows fly. The wolf begins to fight the Hell hounds and loses as it is burned and gouged. A few arrows hit a tree behind Roc and a small group of goblins come out of the brush and charge the group.

Roc unsheathes his demonic blade and another arrow glides and hits the blade itself. The goblins were smashed and their green bodies strewn across the forest floor. Arrows continue to fly through the air and miss Roc narrowly. The other tiefling hides behind a tree and the two hell hounds charge through to rush the attackers. After a few sounds of a small fight the two hell hounds drag out two goblins. Struggling from the grip of the hound the goblins squirm as they try to get free but to no avail they cannot get loose. Roc removes the arrow from his chest and sets down the tiefling by the other and from what Roc can tell she will be fine other than a few scars as the gashes are not deep.

The Great demon looks at the two goblins and to make sure they stay put he binds them by their hands and feet and straps them to the two hell hounds. The party then looks around and makes sure there are no more surprises and treks back to the base. Baskalon asks what happened seeing the wounded Tiefling. Roc points to the two goblins being dragged by the hounds and Baskalon nods. Roc takes the female tiefling to the mages and imps and ask them to heal her. They, with their rudimentary knowledge of healing, do their best and the tiefling is then placed into the bunks for rest.

The Two goblins are placed by the human prisoner and chained up.

As the night grips this land Roc decides to retreat into the dungeon. The faint red glow of the torches light the dungeon's innards as the owners begin to return to their slumber. Roc wanders into the altar room with the three prisoners, all asleep, and asks an imp to begin research on more.. forbidden magics. The imp spreads a wicked smile as his eyes light up with glee. The remaining mage agrees and begins their work on the magic. They sift through the books and find very little of this kind of magic which would be reasonable considering the magic itself is forbidden in many of the lands and it is a wicked way of transmutation. Things like flesh golems and tentacles that mind the occultists mind to the pages from which it learns.

The magic how ever is known and if put together like a jig saw puzzle it can be formed. With the help of the imps and the small fragments the books provide they begin their devious work on the magic.

The moon shines brightly through the entrance of the base and lights peek through as if to watch what is going on. The imps work throughout the night and explore the pages. Roc goes down to sleep in the center room as the other four greater demons sleep there too.

The day comes, marked by the birds and the orange glow from the broken stone of the entrance. The other four demons already left the base and an imp notices the Demon lord stirring. The Imp tells Roc that they have pieced together a spell that could help with what he wanted. Rite of flesh, a spell that churns the flesh of one's victim.

The party has discovered a magic spell.

Rite of Flesh: [debuff, breaks the enemy's morale as they watch an ally ache as their flesh turns to warts and warps of the mind. d20 16-20, Fails at 1-5]

Roc turns away from the imp and looks at the goblins. There is going to be a price for what happened in the forest. Roc leans toward one of the goblins who jumps awake. The demon stares at the goblin and then motions an imp toward him. The goblin looks up at the two. the other goblin begins to stir and the young man wakes up as well. Roc tells the goblin to practice what he learned from his books and to return to him once he is finished. Roc leaves and hears the goblin scream in anguish and the human scream in despair as he watches untold horrors unfold in front of his eyes.

Roc walks outside of his dungeon and looks around his gated in land. It's empty except for the patrols that guard the interior. The morning sky is lit up by the sun as it crawls from under the great sheets. The Moon creeps back into it's safety of the edge and hides away. Roc feels the tug of souls and he knows that the battles, however sustaining, were not enough. The only dilemma of a demon across the great divide is the souls and after a week they grow weak. Souls can come in many forms contracts, sacrifices, and so on. Roc sifts through his thoughts on the problem at hand as another imp flutters toward Roc and informs him of their handy work.

Roc returns underneath and walks into the Altar room. He sees one goblin the human and a creature of some description. It looks distorted as if it was a mixture of a squid and a dog. It is utterly unnoticeable and it's screams are it's only way to know it is still alive. 'Is there a way to sew it's mouth shut?'

'Of course master, the creature has told us where they came from. The other seems unfazed by it's friend's misfortune and seems to continue to stare unknowingly into the stone walls.' The imp croaks. Roc nods and the imp tells him that the goblin said that they were walking toward some big magic source that the shaman felt, one of their leaders. Their tribe told them to scout out and see if they can find this source.

The tiefling female seems to get better but she is still wounded. She is awake and talking but still bound to the confines of her bed.

Roc walks to the bunks meeting up with Baskalon. Roc asks if everything is okay with the wounded one. Baskalon says she is awake and talking but she is still stuck to the bed for the time being. Roc nods and Baskalon leaves Roc then walks to the wounded tiefling and sits down near her.

'Here to see if everything is alright, can't have someone down and out for the rest of the fight.' Roc says in his great booming voice, 'would be a shame if we lost one now, especially a ranger.' The tiefling is taken aback that Roc would visit her but understands what he means. She only says a thank you and nothing else. She needs some rest. Can't lose her, one person down is a huge blow to the rest. Roc then gets up and lets the tiefling rest for now. Roc walks to the Hell hounds and tells them to set a patrol around the palisade. Roc follows them out to the fenced in area. The wood fence, however well made, won't last long if we are here to stay long. May consider moving to another place or to make sure this one doesn't fall. Roc inspects the tieflings and the wall they defend as things are quite and easy going.

The only thing that is etched in Roc's head is the goblin seeking a magical source. What could it of been? Could it of been the summoning? if so we should move unless we want to attract a goblin horde looking for power. The air is brisk, seems to be getting colder must be because of the seasons changing; might be winter soon. Beasts roam the plains nonchalantly and the grass flows like water in the breeze.

Roc looks around the palisade watching each of the tieflings and demons patrol the palisade. Roc then walks to some of the tieflings and tells them that he has a job for them. The tieflings perk up and listen as Roc tells them to grab shovels and wood. The grab the tools and materials and walks out to the forest with the instructions of building pitfall traps and snares. The pitfalls being to maim and the snares are to catch. If we are to be attacked by a goblin horde we should be prepared for what's to come. Roc walks back into the base to talk with his mystics and imps for them to improve upon what they currently understand.

Roc walks through the arch of the room and notices the abomination is now more or less a pile of flesh and tentacles that writhe and sputter as it gasps for air. Disgusting creature. Roc turns to the mages who are pouring over their books and asks them to improve some magic or learn something new. They nod almost in unison and begin to madly go through the pages of text that they have done so many times before. It was a sight to see as they were hurrying along. Roc leaves the room and returns out side and notices the sun is High into the air and shines brightly on his red flaming crown.

Roc watches as the tieflings he sent out come back into the gated area, they tell Roc that they finished the traps and the are scattered through out the forest. They say they heard noises and so they came back fearing the worst. Roc retreats back into the base to talk to the wounded tiefling. He asks if anyone can heal her or at least speed up the healing process. An imp chimes in and suggests he could try closing the wounds with what he knows and begins to heal her. Meanwhile someone from above calls for Roc and he rushes back up to the outside to see what they had wanted. He sees that they wanted to show him the goblins have arrived. One tiefling begins to fire their bow and another prepares his spear and shield. The goblins begin to rush the wall but it is sturdy enough to hold them. There are more of them than Roc and they outnumber him about 20/1 with a goblin decorated in feathers riding a wolf in the middle. It seems he is the leader. They laugh and seem to be almost endless as a green tide of flesh and bone. They keep charging the fence over and over. They are at the south of the wall.

Roc watches as the Goblins try to climb the palisade but fall. They will not run away. Roc prepares his sword for combat as he tightens his grip.

Roc calls for his mages to come to the wall. They rush to the wall and see the giant mass of green flesh. Roc commands them to set them ablaze and the tiefling mages start to use immolation and much of their flanks explode into a beautiful flame. The fires creep closer to the palisade than wanted and is on the edge of burning the walls down. Imps come up and begin to shoot bolts of flame from their hands and hits a few.

Roc tells them to aim for the shaman leader, the imps comply and with their combined force shoot a bolt of fire directly to the shaman. It is a hit and the shaman falls from his mount to the ground. With the screams of their leader and their friends the goblins begin to rage and the palisade sways in their might. The enemy outnumbers Roc's forces 16/1. The goblins do not manage to fell the wall but they do manage to get axes stuck into the wood carving out chunks and firing arrows into the inside.

The fires burn brightly as to consume more into it's maw of death. The battlefield is littered with smoldering goblins and the stench of filth fills the air. The smoke is overwhelmingly large as it burns.

The Goblins begin to crack the wall. The wall is beginning to fail, it cannot hold back this much weight.

Roc begins to roar, 'Leave and I might spare your lives.' The golbins pause for a few seconds and then return to chopping at the palisade and then finally breaking through, Roc and the defenders surround the base entrance and have the magic uses in the middle of their formation. Roc breaks off with his demons and charges. An imp flies up and tries to cast another fire bolt only to explode in the air. As the unlucky imp's remains and blood rain down onto the battlefield Roc charges the goblins with the four other demons in tow stomping and crushing them with his might. The goblins were able to fire off a few more arrows into a demon besides Roc and the demon falls onto the goblins below.

The tieflings begin to fight with the goblins. Baskalon sweeps his ax landing many blows on the goblins as others are not so lucky. The goblins begin to whittle down as the fight intensifies. The demons take massive swings and fell a many goblins with each strike.

The enemy outnumbers Roc 10/1

The mages begin to wildly cast spells and miss. One spell explodes behind the goblins setting the palisade to flames. The goblins continue to attack the demons, Roc flies up into the air and slams down with most of his might killing a good portion of the goblins. The goblins begin to catch fire from the palisade and burn alive from the wandering fires. The carnage is intense as the rest of the goblins begin to frenzy with out a leader and beginning to dwindle they become angry and lash out, a tiefling is caught on the leg and a large gash runs through the calve. Another Tiefling gets knocked down and piled on by goblins as they stab and mutilate the tiefling's body all the while he screams in agony.

The fire begins to burn on all sides as the demons swing their massive swords and striking down large numbers of goblins. Roc begins to grab goblins and throw them down to the feet of the mages telling them to tie them up.

Roc watches as the mess of tangled burning limbs and blood painted this once docile land. Roc sends his hell hounds out to find if any goblins survived along with some of the tieflings. Roc walks toward the fallen demon and kneels beside him as he watches the great demon fade away, back across the great divide. Roc nods knowing that he died to protect the future's plan. Roc promises that he will see him again if fate is kind. Roc stands from his place and again watches the fire as tieflings walk through the corpses and gather the goblins that are still alive. The other three demons nod as Roc passes them and retreats to the base to find the female tiefling standing, tending to the wounded tiefling's leg and watching over a dead tiefling's corpse. The girl looks up and bows her head in respect as you came to pay yours to the dead.

An imp flutters by and announces that there are many goblins still alive and moving. Roc takes his leave from the tiefling and returns to the field of burning bodies. Baskalon approaches Roc and sighs. 'We lost a few yes but they lost many more. This gives us more to the great engine of war.' Roc nods and asks how many goblins still live, Baskalon rolls this around for a while in his head and then says there are about forty still alive. The great demon is pleased with this and walks off to see the large group of goblins.

The group stares at the demon with their beady eyes and some snarl others bare their fangs as they are all tied up or chained. The petty creatures struggle to loosen the boundings but cannot. Stuck to each other and stuck to the presence of Roc. He tells the three demons to guard them. From this great pyre sure some must of seen it. This will drawn more attention to our force. Roc thinks whilst he looks as the black smoke rise through the air and continue. The air is filled with a hefty smell of death. Decay is around them all as the goblins burn up into the pyre. Some say that there were some goblins that fled, but none were found.

Roc wades though the piles of bodies and tells the tieflings we should begin to loot the rest, see what we can find. The tieflings start to pluck gold sacks and little weapons from the goblins. Metal clang as a pile begins to form and the goblins are stripped from their worldly belongings as they pass onto the next. Filthy creatures, ruined a fine place. Roc rips his eyes away from the scene of tieflings piling up the stripped goblins to a pyre and watches as Baskalon returns to the base. Roc tells an imp to tell the others to rebuild the palisade but make it sturdy.

Roc turns and follows Baskalon to the stoney dungeon and he notices and turns pleading, 'This is not good. This fire will alert the neighboring towns and cities of our presence. The humans will be on us the next time the light falls. We need to leave. Now.' Roc watches as baskalon turns back to the supplies. 'It's good we won but we shouldn't smolder our success by staying here and waiting to be ended by the next group of goblins or humans, curse their name, and see this whole plan to fail.' Roc nods and Baskalon turns back to the entrance carrying an empty crate. Roc sighs and looks around, the human is still balled up and the goblin is staring out at some imaginary thing.

You done so much for me and my kind it's kind of hard to feel like we've done enough for you.'

'There is no need, most of this is not just to help but it's because I'm in debt to many of your kind. An to reconcile for it I fight like much of my brothers and sisters do.' Roc says but he knows that the debt is the reason he is here. He is in debt to the family Erina and Baskalon is a part of. The red haired tiefling smiles and nods, she seemed happy to know that about Roc as he seems a mystery to many of his followers. Some great figure of mystic and wisdom.

Hurried steps can be heard from the entrance and Roc turns to see who is there. Erina turns back to her patient and cares for him as he sleeps. Roc decides not to disturb her and Baskalon walks up and says, 'Roc the bodies are burnt and some of the tieflings begin to rebuild the palisade. I don't think it wise to stay, I have voiced my reasons Roc.' He looks between Roc and Erina and then back at Roc.

Roc decides that Baskalon was right, and tells the others to abandon the base. Get the cart ready and the horses to put the crates and supplies on. Roc watches as the tieflings move to his command. After the fight Roc feels satisfied with the amount of souls he has. Roc asks the greater demons to then carry supplies over to the ruins for that is where the base it be set. The three demons nod and begin to take supplies and equipment toward the ruins.

Many of the tieflings feel like they are now moving forward to a better place as the ruins provide a greater measure of defense than that of the palisade and the stone basement they called a dungeon. Erina, with the help of another tiefling bring out the wounded on a mattress and another brings out bed rolls and more mattresses. The Base is almost entirely cleaned out as Baskalon approaches Roc, 'Thank you, though it solves the immediate problem of being near the pyre's smoke but the ruins are still relatively close.' Roc nods and then replies,'Ah yes when that comes then we will solve that problem too. If the humans wish to seek us out then they will find us baring our teeth and showing no mercy for those who strike out against us.' Baskalon seemed hesitant about something then he decides it wasn't worth saying ans returns to help load the cart.

With the extra mouths to feed the once ample supplies not seems to be only able to last a few days now. Roc watches as they all load and help with loading. The demons return once again and then take crates back to the ruins. The Cart was then fully loaded and there where little crates left for the demons to return and to bring to the ruins. The journey to the ruins was uneventful. The caravan walked across the great green ocean they begin to see the great formation of the Ruins. A once castle it fell to an ancient battle that determined the fate of the structures within.

The ruins, upon further scrutiny appear to be more solid than ruins as the structures wore time as if it was some accessory. The Tieflings look upon the great structure of time and see that this will be great to hold up in. The Castle allows for a more fortified position on the map as well as gives the sense of security to the followers of Roc.

Roc looks at the familiar structure and sees it's beauty, now approaching the inner workings of the beast the tieflings and demons can see the finer details. The runes inscribed and the great places. The room where Roc found the mysterious picax is where they decide to place the rest of the supplies in the basement where more crates of something or another are at. The buildings look sturdy and the tieflings begin to unpack. The demons placed the crates they flew over here in a courtyard in the center of the castle that holds a fountain that no longer has flowing water. The courtyard held trees and the entrance to the more important looking building.

Roc decides to return to where the secret room was and finds the orb placed in the center. Roc decides that the mages should move to this spot and study here. The rooms were of stone and most of the entire structure is still intact other than the opening to the plains giving Roc a much needed view. Roc then decides this is where he will stay. In a perch above a city of old, with spirits anew and vengeance bound these two to meet together. The sky is defiantly lit as a rainbow of colors spew out onto the sky as if a painter spilled his colors. Roc watches as his people find their homes within this new abode.

The party founded a new base!

Ruins have now been captured.
Dungeon has now been abandoned.

Supposed to be Kov.

Roc, upon his stony precipice, sees the entrances and the exits of the castle. Telling his imp to tell the others to begin renovations upon this and to build a moat around the castle. The castle itself is situated upon a hill, build into the front of a mountain and creates a narrow path to get into the three different entrances. Knowing about the lack of wood Roc tells the greater demons to fly back to their once base and gather wood and the remains of the palisade. Roc watches from his peak and sees the Tieflings begin their work under the newly unsheathed stars above. The moat begins from one corner and moves along the edge of the broken walls leaving a narrow incline to each entrance the Tieflings work is fast. The dirt is then packed on one side as a makeshift wall.

Once the demons come by dropping logs off they use the logs to place stakes within the dirt wall to make it sturdy and try to deny the access of the moat and force the use of the incline. Roc watches as the great power of dedication works in the minds of the people he defends. The moat is soon finished and the work begins onto a gate for each entrance. With the demons flying back and forth depositing wood from the forest on the other side of the plains they have a surplus of supplies. The stone walls are broken in some places yet the moat denies access to the walls and focuses only to the three entrances of the south, east, and west. This is where the three gates will be set up.

Roc hears foot steps walking up the stairs to Roc's room and as the feet reach the top they stop and say, 'My lord, the mages sent for me to tell you they have finished their work. However they will be preoccupied with something they found in the room you told them to go. They are also looking over your drawings of the runes around the castle.'

The party has discovered a magic spell.

Roc descends from his pedestal as the moon rises and his people retire he begins to walk the streets of his now castle. Roc sees the handiwork of his people and sees that the gates seem sturdy as wood allows the gate to be. Roc visits each gate to inspect each of them to make sure of it's structural integrity. Each gate seems fairly well built and so Roc then wanders off to explore the more innards of the castle. one of the closer buildings to where his own sits atop he sees a group of tieflings living inside near the light glow of a dying small campfire.

Roc continues and finds where Baskalon was as well as the demons. The demons where in the main building, Roc's building, and they were in a well deserved sleep as they worked for most of the day to secure this castle and make it, mostly, livable. The Castle expands back a little into the mountain and ends as a stony wall. The once great city being built up once again to store people and fend off the wolves which the people fall prey to.

Roc walks into some empty rooms and sees if he can find anything of importance. Much of the rooms were again as they were last time empty.

The walk did allow Roc to learn more of what his castle is of as in it's paths and if they were to be besieged then the place would be able to be more organized. Roc walked a good while more listening in onto that sweet silence of loneliness. The silence where you hear nothing and everything at once in the same moment. Roc watches the stars unfold before him as he wanders the castle aimlessly.

A sudden sound then is heard through out an alley way which Roc was about to turn into. As Roc turns he sees nothing and hears nothing again after that event.

Roc returns to his room that sits atop the castle where the demon lord sleeps to watch the heavens above and the earth below. The world at his fingertips. A world which he knows not of. A world full of wonder and excitement. Time passes.

The sun rises, it's rays touching the stone ever so gently. The sky turns bright orange and deep blues as the sky is torn between the day and night. The light and dark. Roc begins to stir and looks out onto the land before him. The world begins to awake to the sun and it's presence like a mother wake's it's child. Roc notices a few of the tieflings start to explore more thoroughly to get a better understanding of the place. Roc walks to the supply rooms and notices the once abundant food stock they had acquired dwindled with the rise in numbers and slaves. Roc walked around for a bit and then left the castle to look for someone. Roc happens upon Baskalon and asks him what he thinks of the castle. Baskalon gives a quick smile and a nod saying 'It's much better than what we had before.'

Roc asks him to gather a few more tieflings and go out to hunt some of the beasts with him. The tiefling wanders off and a few minute brings back three more tieflings, including Erina, to help with the hunt. Roc tells them that there was a group of the beasts he saw whilst walking here to the south east. The group of tieflings wander off into the plains and soon find themselves a few beasts. Roc returns to the confines of the walls of the castle and decides to check up on the mages after the mysterious message they gave last night. Leading down a winding path he happens upon the mysterious room he found a while ago and entered the room where the orb lays center.

To his surprise the mages and imp were not to be found. Roc looks around to find the five books scattered across the room. Nothing out of the ordinary. Roc waits for a while and still the mages and imp does not show up. Roc leaves the room and then he finds that the tieflings returned with beasts slain. They killed only a few though.

Roc decides without a body of water his people will die. He remembered there was an old fountain in the courtyard so there has to be water near somewhere. So Roc walks around the city for a little bit before deciding to head north.

The terrain gets rougher as mountains form. The plains are rolling hills that become sharper and taller. Then they give into the mountains. The Castle itself is situated inside the front of a mountain and faces south to see the plains. The mountain range is beautiful and at places opens up to valleys of grass and trees. Roc quickly sees a waterfall that flows down a mountain and into some kind of grate. The castle is not far away from this man made object and it would seem that it would be connected. But where does it go? Roc is able to go inside but there is no way for sure to know where it leads.

Roc decides to go inside, breaking the metal grate he goes inside the water way. It's is surprisingly large and able to fit him -- an 8 foot humanoid. Roc looks around the dark passage way and sees it goes a long was in one direction. So he follows the tunnel and the water is about knee high for him as he wades though the water.

It takes him around twenty minutes of walking in water to reach a room. A small tunnel drops downward and seems to curve but vision is limited in the dark room. Roc climbs out of the water and tries to see where he is. The room has no light except Roc's own which he gives off faintly. The room is circular and has the water move in three other directions closed off by walls with the water going downward and curving. Roc looks around the room trying to see anything and he finds a set of stairs that lead to a door. He breaks the door open to find another room that has a map. There is a torch there so he lights it with his natural heat and opens the map. The map shows a long corridor that leads to a circle a square room just off of it and three other corridors pass though the circular room. Which all lead to other rooms and end there. The square room has another passage way that leads upward.

Roc decides to try to find this passageway but cannot, the room only has an empty bookshelf, a desk and the door that leads out.

What do you do?
>>

Search the desk and tap on the walls
>>

Roc decides it best to try to find this passage the map shows. He looks around the room but the room looks like solid stone. He tries to see if the desk has any sort of lever or button that could open the door to the hall. Checking the map again he sees that the passage would be behind a wall so he starts to tap the walls to see if he could find the entrance by doing that. Getting nearer to the bookshelf the taps got more hollow sounding.

Roc decided to search the book shelf for a button to move it. He looked though the bookshelf to only find that there is a key hole for a key on the panel. Roc does not have a key so he tries to push it open. With his great muscles moving under his skin like snakes he pushes the bookshelf to find the hallway. It is fairly well lit with torches and it leads to a metal door. It does not need a key and so Roc opens the door.

The room was a library. In the center was a green moving orb not unlike the white stationary one in the mysterious room. Roc turns around and sees that the bookshelf is being replaced by stone as if the castle is healing itself. Roc watches as the stones move into place as magic guides it. Roc then turns around to find his three mages and his imp sitting at a table reading books. The four of them are startled and turn to Roc as if in disbelief that he was there. They tell him that this is what they found. They tell him that this holds many magical mysteries like the orb in the center which is almost pure magic.

Cont. 2/2

They say they are reading books about this land's history but are having trouble with the reading as the language is hard to understand and it seems ancient. They say when they touched the white orb in the sister room they were transported here and found a skeleton holding a book.

They read the book and that is how they found out about the Prismatic Aegis and what this room was. It was a sort of safe room where only certain people can enter and exit. They then ask Roc how he got in. Roc turns to point at the door but it has disappeared and is now solid stone. They tell him he can return to the mysterious room by touching the orb whilst thinking about the room. They say this is some magical network of orbs, entrances and exits interwoven in some spell. They tell him this room is under the Castle and that there are others but they don't know how to access them. The library they are in is one of many along the network and that is why they are reading history books to try to find out what are the others and where they are. Roc tells them that he was looking for a way to get water to the castle but happened upon the room.

They ask him if he meant about the fountain in the courtyard then he can fix it now by touching the orb as the orb is like an engine the castle runs on. Roc does so and thinks about the fountain. Not only is he transported to the fountain but it starts to work.

Roc looks around dazed by the teleportation, which is reasonable as he just move through space and time.

Roc decides after what he saw he should investigate the library as it holds secrets. Roc finds Baskalon and Erina in a room near a campfire and tells them to follow him to help him explore something. He tells another tiefling to go and find a suitable room to store military personnel and their equipment. The tiefling nods and then wanders away to go find other tieflings to help him. Roc then tells Baskalon and Erina to follow him.

Roc, with the two tieflings in tow, walk a winding path to the mysterious room passing the now working fountain. Baskalon stops and asks how long it has done that and Roc tells him that that is part of the thing he wants to show them. Once the party reaches the orb Roc stops and turns around to tell them how it works. 'Place your hand on the orb and think of going to a library underneath the castle.' They both exchange looks of confusion then they both place their hands onto the orb. Roc does the same.

Roc thinks of the library and in an instant the world spins out of control and colors flash by his eyes. Roc appears in front of a great castle, the same castle he inhabits.. only that it looks new. The world spins again and stops just as fast as it starts and he then appears before a great city in the skies full of... the world spins again. He stops in a room and before him is something he hasn't seen in centuries -- His armor. As Roc approaches the familiar sight a voice calls out to him. 'Once again, Roc it is nice to see you, I didn't think it was you the first time now I'm positive.' The world blurs all together and spins again.

Roc stands, no kneels, before a man reading a book. Vines grow around him as he sits on his stone throne. He looks up from his pages and sees Roc standing there.

'About time Roc.' The man says. 'My name is Everette but you already know I'd assume.' He watches Roc. 'You do remember me right?'

cont. 1/2

Cont. 2/2

Everette watches Roc as he struggles to remember. 'You promised me something Roc,' Everette reinforces and the pauses before saying 'You promised me power, and I my soul. Not just mine but my land's souls.' Roc looks up as he remembers the deed. 'You gave it to me and I gave you what I said to be it.' Roc follows up on what he says, Roc remembers this. This is the day he became a demon lord.

Everette was a prince who's father died weeks before, desperate he summoned a demon for help. Roc answered his call. Everette pleaded that another nation assassinated his father and that Everette seeks revenge for the nation that wronged him so, he wanted his nation to be the most powerful people of all the lands. Roc agreed but told him that the demonic power to be bestowed on him would be too great for him to handle and it will change him and his people. They will be warped by the demonic presence. Everette agreed hastily and Roc accepted. Everette was then taken to the pool of primordial essence beyond the great divide.

Roc told him to take a jug of the liquid and drink it at a feast. But he must first perform a ritual, a long and bloody ritual which called for many lives. Including children and their mothers to satiate the hunger of this essence. Everette agreed to this and performed the horrendous acts of violence on his own people. The lands of other lords soon heard of what happened to Everette saying after his father died he became mad and killed many of his people in search for an assassin, they named him the Bloody Barron. He performed the ritual and drank the essence. His entire castle was then turned to creatures not demon or human. But both. The bloody Barron then seized the land of the other nations with his army of demonic tainted humans.

Over time they spread through the normal population gaining the name of Tieflings. Everette was promised power and he was given that power at the cost of his humanity. 'I accepted this Roc. The land I took was because you helped me do it. It was lost, and you promised me power so help me take it back. Help my people. Help my great grandson.' Everette's words became hollowed as he dissipated into the world as it fades into a flurry of colors.

Roc falls in the Library. He wakes seeing Erina and Baskalon before him as he lay on the ground. 'Seems you had a rough journey.' Baskalon says as he helps Roc get up.

Roc looks around the library in complete daze. The world spins slowly as he regains his footing. Roc looks back at the Orb as it glows it's primordial green glow. The library seems to drift into place for Roc moves to the tieflings and stumbles a bit before the world stops spinning. Roc knows his armor is here somewhere, but that's not the only thing he knows now. Roc looks into both faces of Baskalon and Erina, and they are slightly confused at what is happening to Roc. Roc stands up and walks around in circles trying to get things straight in his head. He tells the two to go and grab some books on the 'Bloody Barron'. They don't know who he is but they accept and walk off trying to find something about him.

Roc stands there, amazed Everette is still alive or what ever he is. Part of Roc believes that this was some how a trick to get him to do something but he doesn't know what or why would someone trick him to do something he is already doing. Roc then sees Erina as she looks though the shelves of the massive library. He did that. He made them to look so different from the humans. it was his fault to mess with the humans. He needs to find the rest of the tieflings and save them from genocide. Savoir, Roc thought and scoffed at the idea. Erina turned and noticed Roc watching her, she tilts her head slightly and smiles a small, confused smile then moves through the shelves and Roc loses sight of her.

Roc looks down at the ground and then remembers that this is something he will do, he will fix this. Tieflings are his creation and his responsibility. Baskalon approaches Roc with a two books and tells him that this is all he could find. Erina says, from behind Roc, that she found only a few as well. Roc accepts these books and walks to the Orb. 'Thank you for your help.' Roc says. Erina then says, 'What are they for anyway?'

'Who.' He says, 'Who are they for, and they are for an old friend.' Roc nods at them as he touches the Orb.

Roc disappears and Erina stands there with Baskalon in a maze of words. Roc reappears in his throne room. He places the books near a wall in a stack and walks down his stairs. Half way through he meets a tiefling who is surprise as he was just about to come tell him about a Room they found that would be good for a Barrack. Roc nodded, his head filled with so many questions and so many other things. Roc followed the tiefling to a building that seemed to have most of it's original stone work intact. Some places have been filled with the little wood that they had left. Roc endered the newly made door and finds four tieflings around the place. There are proper bunks and in a back room there is a few crates of food. The room it self is quite large as it has an indented floor in the middle that is now filled with dirt. The Indented area is almost parted off with it's Four pillars marking each of it's edges of the pit. On one side of the room lays two bunks and on the other side lies four armor stands and a weapon rack. Roc tells the tiefling that this will do nicely as it helps the ones who are in here train with sparring. Roc then walks out of the room. He walks a road to the fountain to splash water on his face. He now remembers all of the past deeds he has done to get to the present. Erina and Baskalon emerge from the building in front of him and they nod at him and admire the fountain's functionality. Roc then walks back to his room where he sets a few of the crumbling stones into a shape of a chair for him to sit.

Roc opens one of the books and begins to read. The sun allows him to read for a good bit on his throne.

The party now has Barracks.

Here you can Train your units to become more proficient with a blade, spear or what ever there is.

The SwSh tags Show that the tiefling is trained in Swords and in Shields.

Teiflings: 4 (2F, 2M ) 2SwShF 2SwShM 2hAx Baskalon, 2DgErina

This is the correct showing of the tiefling population. The normal population will be untrained. Baskalon and Erina are named characters who have Their own Trained specifics. Baskalon is good with his two handed Ax and Erina carries two daggers which she uses. Blue will mean they are legendary in any weapon skill.

Roc sits upon his throne reading books about the deeds of Everette. Some of the books are untruthful and was probably written by outsiders. Roc then turns his head to the sky in front of him. And open view of beauty he sees the old base he once inhabited. it's smoldering corpse as it lies in defeat and rests it's head. Though it is not alone. Roc's demonic eyes sees far greater than those of any human for he is a natural predator. He sees figures wading in the smoke. Humans. Their stench is undeniable as they are only a few miles away from his great perch. The humans look through the carnage and destruction. It was not a military force but it was humans.

Roc gets up and leaves his throne and walks down to the courtyard where he is surprised by the three mages who emerge from the orb room. They tell Roc they have just finished researching some of the history about this place. They tell him Everette created the orbs around his kingdom so he could easily travel to and from. To proper use the orbs he had to say a word that was to bring him to another place if not it would bring him to the any where in the city's interior where the orb is instead, for them that meant it would be the library or even the barracks. The words are not known to them but they expect the words will be inscribed on the doorway of the orb room they wanted to travel to. Roc then asks the mages if they could follow him to where the prisoners are at. The follow Roc to the prison and find the green mess that is the goblin group. Roc tells them that he needs an Altar to which they rely that they need stone.

Roc leaves them there and finds a group of tieflings and tells them to create a mine and bring him stone. The Tieflings accept and went to gather tools for the task. They later return to Roc bringing stone and tells him of what they found. They found a good source of stone near the foot of a neighboring mountain so they established a mine there yet the trek to and from will be on difficult terrain. Roc then takes the stone slabs to the mages in the Prison. The mages begin their work by placing their tools and candles atop of the altar and with placing a red cloth over they complete the altar.

Roc inspects it and agrees it is finished. Roc orders the mages to bring him some goblins. One by one a goblin is dragged to the altar and killed. There are only sixteen remaining goblins as they have killed 24 of them. Roc watches the great task and once they are finished he then begins to summon demons. He brings his arms up to the pile of dead goblins and begins to chant. The wind begins to pick up and the human notices this and looks at Roc as he chants.

Cont. 2/2
The winds become faster and faster pulling toward the corpses of goblins and the other sixteen goblins notice the great magic that is being gathered. Smoke and the stench of sulfur begin to fill the room as a portal rips across the great divide creating a passage way for the ethereal beings to pass though. The young man sees this and begins to run with his chains attached to his hands. Roc cannot stop once he began to summon and the human runs into the portal. The winds begin to slow down and Roc knows the human will not survive long on the other side. Roc waves his hand through the smoke and before him are eight figures about the same size as a tall human. Four of them wielding bows the other four wielding swords. Roc dots his eyes from each face and one by one he sees them stand up to meet the demon lord.

Suddenly another portal opens up and another creature steps through it's great maw. More smoke spews through and a mage opens a bottle to catch it. The extra visitor is taller than the rest that is known from the little visibility Roc has in the Thick fog of smoke. As it settles there stands before him a familiar face. Because demons cannot die they return to hell once their body has been damaged here and Roc witnesses the same demon that fell before stands now.

The two reunite as they know it was a tremendous amount of luck to bring them back together. The demon explains a human fell though to where he was and that he recognized him so he decided to check it out. There was still some magical residue from the spell so he was able to make it here as a whole. Roc smiles as the demon tells his tale and jumps his eyes to each of the demons before him. The follow him as he leaves the prison and he brings them to the other demons and the two hell hounds. Tieflings walk toward the ghostly sight of a demon they thought dead walks again and they wish to celebrate the event as well as to break in the Castle. Roc with a worried mind agrees and the tieflings begin to set a room with tables and chairs. The take out the food stocks and some barrels of wine they had. Roc watches as the group begins their celebration.

What do you do?
>A) Allow they to drink and eat as much as they want.
>B) Let them enjoy them selves but limit drinks.
>C) Ration out drinks and food.
>D) Do not let them eat or drink.

Roc thinks to himself about the day as the sun begins to lower behind the great earth. He watches the tieflings merrily set tables and bring out barrels of wine. He walks to one of the ones who are setting the barrels up and tells him to limit the drinks tonight. They can celebrate but do not get too wild with the it. Roc watches the beginnings of the night. He nods as a few demons and tieflings pass by and he eats a few things too. He watches the tieflings enjoy themselves and the groups of people chatting. The mages are also enjoying themselves deeply as they celebrate the castle and the return of the lost demon.

After talking to a few people Baksalon approaches Roc and tells him,'You're a great ruler Roc, this has been the highlight of much of my life, being here with you and the others.' Roc continued to get similar thank yous and complements by tieflings and the greater demons. The party begins to pick up and more things happen but really nothing too important. Some got drunk but most of the people followed what Roc asked them to and limit themselves to only a couple of drinks. After most of the night begins to die down Roc retreats to his perch. Where he sits on his throne looking out toward the plains and beyond. It seems the humans decided to camp out in the old base of Roc's. The night seemed to pass as Roc watches the clouds go by.

After a few minutes Roc hears foot steps come up the stairs and walk into the room. They didn't say anything at first until they got closer to the stone chair. After pausing a few seconds they say,'Thats one view.' It was Erina. Roc turns to face her and she smiles as she gets closer. 'That's why I chose it." Roc replied, 'One of the best I've seen.'

Erina doesn't say anything for a while until, as if, she remembered what she wanted to say,'The feast was great and I'm glad to see that he is back. More glad really that we have so much more room here.' she says like she doesn't really want a reply. 'It's been fun, being here with you,' She says as she pulls up a stone and sits on it with her knees up and her arms propped up on them,'I think I can get used to this life. They say 'should always remember those who wronged you but always forgive them," she mocks the mysterious them. 'I don't know about that but I think that even if I tried forgetting I probably never forget.'

Erina looks up at Roc and watches him. Roc, watching the sky, says 'Should never forget it.' They don't talk for the rest of the night.

They sit there. Watching the stars and letting the time pass. A moment of pure peace. Intensity of the silence.

The light of day kisses the skin lightly. It's gentile embrace, the sun. Roc opens his eyes ever so slightly as the world does the same. Roc begins to move but noticed Erina moved from where he dazed off last night. She was asleep on his lap. She must of climbed into his lap whilst he nodded off. It seems she found a place more comfortable than her own bed or she didn't feel like making the trip back to her own. The stone throne was not the best for two so he gently moved her over as he got up reluctantly. The day calls for him and he must answer that call. Roc, with a look back out to that throne and the orange sky beyond, he walks down the stairs to the courtyard. The tables and chairs were still out and there were a few of his people sleeping across the yard. Roc moves deftly past them to see how much of a dent to the stores it took.

Looking through the crates he knew there was a definite lack from yesterday and with the constant depletion of supplies it would be best to find a constant source of food. The grain was still kept from the cart theyhappened uponand the grain was still usable as it was hardly touched by the party goers. Roc wandered the paths of the castle and soon finds some waking demons. The newly spawned demons accepted the task of planting the crop and if they can find any more edibles from the surrounding area. Roc watches them leave as he thinks about yesterday. A day full of secrets and events he still hasn't gotten over the fact of Everette's wish for him to protect his people. His great grandson. Roc pondered on these and thinks to himself as the rest of the world wakes with the new day.

Soon the demons return with news of their success but with news of something else. The humans did not see them but they say the humans whilst looking for food. They say the humans were walking toward the castle. They know not of the humans intentions but they seem to be on a path to the castle. Roc is deeply worried by this as he feared this would happen. The demons say there are only a few of them. The place, the last base, was empty when they saw it and they believe that the humans headed here are the only ones coming.

With the approaching humans Roc believes the humans to be set on their path. He tells the men to take to the defense whilst he meets the humans in the field. Roc tells the imp to wait near by as he will be needed if things do not work as planned. What was the plan? Roc moves to tell his four greater demons to take to the skies as he will meet them there.

Roc watches as the tieflings and the demons gather around the area to hold it. Roc sees Erina is awake now as she walks down the stairs. Roc smiles and pushes off with his mighty wings. There he can see the group of humans who seem to have a few people. They look to be only around twenty and seem to be lightly armed or as far as Roc can see. So far the humans do not notice the five flying demons as the move toward the ruins. Roc tells the others to do as he does and form a circle around the group.

Roc and the others fly downward and with great might they fall like a meteor towards the ground. At the last second they open their wings and hit the earth creating a plum of dust where they land. The twenty humans are startled and draw their swords. Roc stands and towers over them and looks at each in the face.

'Now ews' the foock are yew?' the lead man says. He watches the great demon and spastically dots his eyes to each of the demons around him.

'My name is Roc.' the demon lord says. 'and you're in my land.'

'I don't foockin' care ew yew is, and I don't foockin' care that I'm in yer land,' He says as he stabs his spear into the ground. Roc then rakes his blade and runs the human through. 'Well if any of you do mind then you should speak up.' Roc says as the humans tremble in the sight of their lead man becoming a kabab in front of their eyes. Eight lay down their swords and others start to charge the demons.

The armed humans charge the Greater demons in an attempt to subdue the great creatures. With a swing from a blade the demons cut down their attackers. Roc rips his blade from the chest of the leader blood spewing and cuts another in two. An imp in the back flutters it's wings as it begins to cast a spell. A demon was hit with a sword on his leg as a human dodged his movements. The demon then took his fist and slammed the man in his face killing him instantly. Within seconds winds of magic begin to flow and then cease as if a fabric was cut. The remaining humans, with their weapons at their feet, rush their arms into the air as the demons close in.

The humans look around at the carnage that was their allies and bow their heads in defeat. Roc accepts their surrender and tells the demons to bring them toward the castle. The demons nod and Roc watches as they fly away.

I believe this is not the time to take prisoners. We've got a small portion of food left.

>>100605
This guy suggested that we should use diplomacy with the humans.

Now, this is what i propose: we invite the humans to join our forces by converting them into tieflings (if possible). Someone please roll diplomacy here.

Those who refuse, we summon some incubi and tell them to breed with the guys so we can make cambions, then we sacrifice them and get their souls. (should we roll a charm person here?)
>>
>>102957
>incubi
lol incubi are dudes. Sure, sexy succubi. we need mana first though. Roc could meditate for the time being.
Dip will be civ wide so d100. A charm would be d20 but we only have combat spells and two enchantments.

Humans, in this nation, are apposed to evil they are kind of 'Chaotic-good' characters. Thats why they attacked the demons even though they would of lost. Honor and all that jazz.

I'm actually wanting to see how the diplo will work out being the opposing forces.
>>
>>103033
honestly I'd like to make peace with the goblins , maybe invite them to join forces and live with us, and fuck up the humans
>>
>>102957
Also I'm fine with the multi actions, looting doesn't have that much meat. Though if I do multi posts See bottom, they count as more time.

If you want to roll that diplo and see about Roc meditating go ahead. Roll 2 d100 & 1 d20. [max mana regen is 100] and each new post adds 10 to the pool. Humans and demons are both good at diplo, Goblins >>103057 are bad at diplo. Humans are better than demons and so +20 to their roll. Goblins get -20 to theirs if decide goblins.

First d100 will be demons, second being humans/[other prisoners]. Humans can be feared. Goblins cannot. Abominations are mindless and are due to over cast of rite of flesh [tortured]

Personally, I disagree the use of alignments for whole civilizations, each person is very different from each other! But you are the DM and you do as you please anyways.

After that, I'll insist on summoning the succubi.
When i said we could charm the guys, i meant the succubus might have an innate kind of spell that does that.

The succubi also might be used as sex toys by our tiefling male population to increase morale.

Kinda hard to give an entire army different personalities. It would be hard to balance, and until we cut a few down we can then give them their quirks. Kinda like with Baskalon and Erina, didn't have a personality until they got a name. but i'm not about to name the eight human captives.

Time passes like the clouds march nonchalantly toward some end beyond a mysterious horizon. As he bares no witness to the skies above he sits looking without seeing the view. Just as soon as he begins his never-watch he stops for the steps behind prevent the resting of the soul. Roc opens his eyes to orange skies and a tiefling stands behind him waiting to be acknowledged. Roc turns to face the tiefling and they tell him that they finished searching the bodies. Most of what they had on them was torn or destroyed during the fight so they just kept the stuff usable and put the ruined items with the other junk metal. Roc nods and gets up leaving his perch to walk the open halls of the streets.

The sun moves slowly though the sky as if dragged unwillingly to it's bed for rest. The moon rises and besets the land with it's shroud that follows.

Tieflings seem to gather as if to witness some great thing. Roc follows where they go and the walls are covered with red faces peering out to the plains below to be met with faces looking back, not red but green. Goblins. They must of sensed the summoning from yesterday like they did before. A feather headed one with a staff pushes through it's horde of green flesh.

'Ew' bees dis ledda? I wan'tah spek wifh da ledda.' The one crowned with feathers calls out. Some of the tieflings and demons draw their blades but Roc reassures them to put them back. 'Lets see what they want,' Roc says as he lifts off with his mighty wings. The shaman watches the great winged demon as it moves toward the him. Roc lands up-straight and looks at the goblin. The two leaders size each other up for a few seconds and the the shaman looks around before it puffs it's chest out then begins to say 'Is yew da ledda of dis here?'

Roc nods and the Goblin begins to speak again. 'We's lukin fa sum'tin powafuel, I's sense's'ed sum'tin and I wann'it.' Roc nods as if he was mulling over the request. 'We have no powerful item that you seek but we do have power. A mighty castle and demons who defend it.' The shaman looks disappointed then he perks back as if he remembered something important, 'Yous sed dat weave gots no items but only powwa?' Roc nods. 'Well lemme see it.' The goblin demands.

Roc, confused, tells the goblin to follow him toward the castle. Roc tours the goblin around the castle whilst some goblins begin to wander away. Roc watches as the goblin make some important decision painfully slow. 'Arright, I's seeses dis powwa of yews. But I's didn't come er'e fa som castell. I wanna see some ov dis powwa i's sensses'd.'

Roc calls for his mages and they discuss for a little bit before they turn around and perform a fire bolt at a nearby wall. The goblin doesn't seem impressed so the mages then perform a prismatic aegis. The Goblin nods it's head as if it was admiring the colors more than the ability. The mages, frustrated, bring out another goblin and perform rite of flesh on it. The shaman claps as the other gets tortured but all in all doesn't seem to warrant any form of entertainment.

Roc thinks about the last time the goblins arrived and with the last time they too had a shaman but the day before he performed a summoning. Roc leaves the mages and the shaman alone and then returns after some time with a single goblin. Roc tells them to follow him and they walk toward the prison where the altar was built. Roc watches the shaman as he runs a blade through the one he placed on the altar.

After this he moves away and begins to chant. The shaman watches this and looks interested. Roc's chanting calls forth a great amount of winds of magic. The room seems to be moving and spinning as Roc's steady voice guides their ears to listen. With deft movements the room begins to fill with smoke and the stench of sulfur as the power builds up. The shaman's eyes widen. The smoke rises and as if called off of it's assault the winds seem to slow down. Roc stops shanting and waves his hand through the smoke to see his success.

The sound of wings flapping is a tale tell sign for the arrival of an imp. As the smoke settles the shaman looks back at Roc, he is thoroughly impressed and tells Roc, 'Now dis ere is what I's came fa.'

After some more speaking the shaman agrees to join Roc and his forces in the castle. Though the shaman's forces dwindled from their boredom there was still a great mass of green that stood in front of the castle. Easily enough for an army. Though the tieflings are not necessarily agreeing with their new allies they do not protest against the added force. Roc returns to his perch, like a guardian, he watches his new found friends enter his domain. Disgusting creatures. Simple and easily manipulated through show of force. Minions for the machine. Nothing more. The only true people of his are the tieflings and demons. These goblins are merely slaves.[/i

The party gained a new allegiance.

The goblins are now recruit-able.

After the goblins secured their home they settled in rooms around the castle, Roc sleeps with the knowledge of this new alliance. The skies are awoken by the sun and so too the lands below. As the castle wakes Roc watches and begins the day. Roc calls upon the shaman and discuss the terms of the alliance. The shaman agrees if Roc brings goblins to the shaman he will convert them to be in Rocs party but does not guarantee any other goblins than the normal ones that was seen with him. Roc tells the shaman that with the extra hands they could get the castle working to perfection. The shaman agrees and he sends goblins to the mine and to harvest grain from the farm and hunt. Roc watches this new alliance between the goblins and the Tieflings as Roc sends a tiefling to watch over each group of goblins working each spot.

The tieflings are not as happy with the goblins as Roc is so they try to avoid them. The castle is more or less divided in three sections. the lowest part and closest to the gates are where the goblins reside, the middle ground where the tieflings and demons reside and the top where Roc himself with the Greater demons and mages live. Roc moves through the streets as Goblins move with clumsy hands working to repair the castles walls and buildings. Construction of the fort-sity is under way and many of the people seem glad as the added defense of solid stone and great castle becomes great again. Stones and debris are now clean and roads are now swept by goblin workers.

The resource nodes have been locked.

Resources will be gathered each round 20 stone and 40 food units.

The castle walls have now been repaired!

The Castle is now cleaner!

Roc's people, the tieflings, are far outnumbered with the new goblin allies within the gates. Once enemy becomes a helping hand was never a goal any of the older members intended although the extra seventy set of hands are welcome. Most of the tieflings knew this to be true. Roc sits atop his perch gazing at his kingdom. Rooms have been re opened as more needs are to be met. Tieflings are becoming to be settled with the defended walls of this place. Roc sees the castle and it's people. The sky turns it's great wheel of time and moves slowly. Roc decides it best to leave his stone throne and visit the shaman for more answers.

Roc walks the now clean streets toward the goblin parts of the castle and finds the shaman who lives in the larger buildings. Roc asks him how he likes the castle and asks if he would like to talk for a while. The goblin spoke of places and of roads but nothing truly unknown to Roc. The shaman spoke of a smaller town of humans that has a powerful wizard cult of sky people worshipers. The shaman wove stories of a great armor that was worn by a demon that men strove to gain. To all the ones who wore the armor were made to the like of powerful monsters who slayed all. The shaman spoke of a tower far west on a cliff looking over an ocean. It spoke with a haste as if excited to talk about these things. It spoke of towns and places in far away lands. It spoke at length of trails of red horned men and women in chains who were forced north. He spoke of a land where goblins ruled the sky. He spoke about a great gold treasure that was found by a god and then lost to a man. All the while Roc listened to the shaman speak even if the tales were woven out of the imagination.

After a length of time Roc left the building with knowledge of somethings but he couldn't really sort it all out. Roc went to gather his thoughts in his throne but was stopped by a group of tieflings.

WAIT FOR IT.

The group asked for something strange and with a clouded mind Roc did not fully understand what they were asking.

The tieflings asked for a party with drinks and food -- and beds. Roc allowed them to do what they pleased and so they left him to his worried mind to be. They went and gathered the other tieflings and food and drinks to move it into a building they found to be large enough to fit them all. The room they found was one near the courtyard, it connects to the mysterious room itself which means that Roc's throne sits above it. The room is circular and they found cloth and other things to hang on the walls of the room and pillows and padding to line the floor with. Decadence and it's rich drive for pleasure lured the tieflings to each other. It was a cacophony of obscenity and pure debauchery. The doors were locked as they stayed within their room of pleasure and perversion.

Roc retreated to his throne before the indecency of an event occurred. Unbeknownst to him of the event he retires for the night to his throne. The sounds of the event was not heard atop his throne. He was unaware. He sat there, letting his thoughts drift into the void and his worries dissipate before him. His mind wandered, he remembered the request of the tinglings and smiled as it was something that was needed even if it was for the time --- footsteps, there were faint taps on the cold stone that lay the floor. They were bare and not booted or with shoes like the rest of the times Roc heard steps crawl atop the stairs.

These were gracefully made an intentionally delicate. The sound stopped closely and Roc turned to see what it was. Erina. It was her who he saved the first time they've encountered the goblins it seems it would be fitting it be the second time he saved her from another shame. She was not wearing shoes, or a shirt or, pants. She was bare before him and presented herself innocently.

'I never repaid you.' She said softly as she approached.

The rest of the night was spent in each other's embrace, gentle clouds flowed above unseen.

Morale has increased.

Morale is now superb.

How about a stable?
B - Rolling for construction
It would be nice to get scouts to patrol the area or roam around.

Then, i think we should ask more about that powerful Demon Armor.

What do i roll? Exploration again? There you go.
>>
>>104695
What's the point of a stable? Afaik we have no mounts. Also demons are impotent, right?

I think we should focus mostly on getting a steady supply of souls somehow. We need them. Either through contracts, or sacrifices, forcing human prisoners to breed, whatever. Maybe we can find a small town that'll give us regular sacrifices out of fear.
>>
>>104748
Yeah demons are impotent thats why only those tieflings who attended the orgy will show signs of impregnation.
>>
>>104748
I'm out of ideas, and by building a stable i was implying we're gonna need to find horses.
Hopefully that roll will be enough for that.

I've also explained we need scouts to get updated about the surroundings. If we don't know what's around, we can't engage and have to be searching aimlessly as we've been doing so far.

Getting more souls is a good idea, but breeding humans takes time and many resources.

Raiding seems the best idea, but we need to keep exploring to know what to raid.

Then building a stable is meaningless and i feel stupid.

Can we just mount tieflings on the horses and tell them to keep searching around constantly?

That is so we can get warned about approaching parties, merchants or to discover settlements.

If not, then i'm rolling to search for a human settlement.
