Last time, we continued our exploration of the dungeon, learned a new move from some ghosts, got scolded by Alice, and took a break after making a bat-cicle.

Faye seems to be inspecting her work as the team are resting, inspecting the frozen bat. You think you feel some kind of pride coming off of her possibly? Alice had chosen to rest right near you, getting as close as possible trying to share your weather scarf. Apparently the ghosts in the area like it chilly, Alice on the other hand not so much. You feel it might be time to move, or you could keep resting for a bit.

You lightly pat Alice’s head trying to wake her, it only causes her to twitch slightly. Then you start lightly prodding her face to wake her. Only to be rewarded with her biting your paw and begin to chew on it. While cute it is fairly painful, so you begin to shake her lightly and quietly call her name. She is groggy at first, but quickly remembers where she is, very far into your space bubble. She quickly tries to pull away but unfortunately in her lack of full consciousness and slight panic forgets she is connected to you by scarf. Leading her lose her footing and fall to the ground, bringing you with her.

Now you are left directly on top of the fennec fire fox and you can practically feel the heat of embarrassment radiate from her. You yourself are a bit embarrassed at the situation as well but have enough composure to respond in some way.

Picking up the unknown book you add it to your inventory, before beginning to focus your aura sense. You figure out the layout of the floor as well as pick up on a... concerning aura. It is definitely strong, stronger than anything you have felt before, and it doesn't feel friendly. It might do to try and get out of this floor soon... As you think this the aura begins to move, it is so prominent you don't think you even need to focus for you to be able to detect it, it is heading for you and your team.

Relationship building will for the most part be out of mystery dungeons, possibly in missions that don't have to do with dungeons as well. Or if you really want to bring up some small talk in the write-ins while in dungeon, nothing stopping you. Just be careful, words can rip people apart and a dungeon is a bad place to be in pieces.

Yes it will appear in some dungeons, the harder the dungeon the more likely it is to appear. Honestly I would suggest against fighting it how you are now. Unless you are prepared to deal with the consequences.

You make your way home from the dungeon. You quickly realize that attack you were hit with took a lot more out of you than you realized. Each step sends a jolt of pain you didn’t notice thanks to adrenaline to your damaged area. You probably should eat an Oran Berry. Alice and Faye seem to have noticed the cringe of pain that crosses your face with every step you take, and look somewhat worried.

You try to tough it out, you really do. But your small body doesn't last for long enough and you soon enough fall to the ground to the duel yells of "Luka!". Your body is screaming in pain. Why? It shouldn't hurt this much. You close your eyes but you are only greeted by the aura of your team members. Were they always that bright? You bite your tongue resisting the pain, but that leaves the issue of your body refusing to move much less walk. They say something about the scarf, but you aren't really focused enough to pay attention much less stop what feels like your scarf coming off. You feel a hand grab your own Faye's if the fact it was a hand at all and the fact that it slowly drew the heat out of your hand. Then your arm, soon you feel your whole body going numb as she holds your paw firmly.

"Luka I'm going to keep you cold to keep your body numb to the pain. Do you need me to carry you back?" She asks pulling you up.

You can no longer feel pain, or well anything really. Your eyes refuse to open and your aura sense is almost overwhelming you, but you think you can move your numb body.

You can barely form words, but you can attempt a small nod. That is all Faye needs as she picks you up and begins to float you home. Holding your hand the entire way. Alice went ahead to get help ready before you arrived. Which left you trying to maintain consciousness as you were slowly floated back to the guild.

Only to awake in a familiar place. This was your dream from before. the same abandoned looking concrete field with a single tower and the 3 wide buildings from before. One of which you know has a machine inside. Once more you are human.

The area seems roughly the same, but why is it so significant? Is there some reason you keep coming to this place?

Looking through the log book it contains some info on the owner... unfortunately the writing is so terrible you can't even make out the name. The book also contains a list of numbers as well as some other obscure acronyms you aren't familiar with. You only can make out the dates and what you assume are times.

Placing the book back in the bag you wrap it around your shoulder before beginning to inspect the tools. Nothing too useful, and iron rod connected to a wire, a other similar metal rods with no wires, and many other tools for what you assume to be used on small equipment.

and then edit the shit it gives me using paint like the poorfag I am. It is a bit annoying sometimes because a lot of the dungeons it makes don't feel very PMD-eque but I'll deal with it until I find something better.

The first thing you note after you figure out that you are probably in your room is that you are hungry, very hungry… how long were you out? You get up once more and notice that a dull pain from where you were hit, nowhere near as bad as before, but it seems you haven’t fully recovered. Your scarf is missing, as well as the explorer’s bag you carry around. You stopped noticing it fairly quickly but now you feel almost naked without it strapped to your side. All that you currently have on you are your goggles wrapped around your head.

Well you aren’t going to get any answers laying around here, and you need food. You get up and decide to leave and search for someone, anyone, preferably Alice or Faye, but you’d take anything at this point… ALMOST anything, please no more gho/ss/ts. Should you try your aura sense? It might make finding someone a snap, but after what happened yesterday it may not be the best plan. Your inner “eye” still burns at the memory.

Rolled behind the scenes to see how it did after the whole burning event that I don't want to give the cause of away. Got a 20.

Closing your eyes you begin to focus on trying to see the energies of everything around you. Your aura sense seems more… keen? Maybe sensitive is a better word. Although it no longer burns. You feel you can “see” farther, without needing to focus as hard, as well as noticing duller energies, one of which being the blue flames in the halls that you note have a distinct “Bella” feel to them. Is that what she meant by her being the keeper of the flames? Ghostly fires probably don’t make smoke so it’d make sense to use them as lighting down here.

Any way you can make out pretty much every aura in the guild. You think, there may be some you don’t know of that aren’t in the guild. You feel auras similar to Alice you can somehow tell they aren’t her, you can’t feel any aura similar to Faye at all in the guild either. Are they not here? You can make out plenty of auras, but only recognize one… You shudder, it might not be a good idea to ask her…

Other than THAT, aura there are a few that stick out, a large most likely powerful mix of light blue and dark blue, a slightly above average purple red aura, another dull gray aura that seems kinda familiar, and a pink orange mix aura you feel you know but can’t put your paw on it.

You wander the hall eyes completely closed, but still able to see through the power of aura. You thought about checking on the dull gray aura, but the sheer power of the other aura drew your curiosity. Could he know of aura as well? Or was it just a general sign of power they held. As you reach your destination you open your eyes to find a familiar looking door, although everything seems similar in this god damn maze. The door doesn’t seem to have a lock or anything. Should you just open it? Or maybe knock? You can’t tell what time it is or how long you’ve been asleep. Would whatever it is be upset if you disturbed it?

You gather your courage and lightly bonk your paw against the wooden door, there is a loud growling from the other side but otherwise no indication of it accepting your entrance. You knock once more, but a bit harder, the growling stops for a bit which is then followed by a gruff voice from the other side.

“Come in.”

You are far more frightened than you are willing to admit, but you oblige and enter the room. To come face to face with the fucking dragon from your first day! This time wide awake.

“Hello child, what have you come to me for?” It continues, its voice practically shakes the ground underneath you. It looks at you curiously “Is it morning already?”. It then gains annoyed look “Or are you just another brat sent here by a dare, I told Alice to stop bringing you brats here?”

You can barely form words, you don’t even need to focus your aura to feel its crushing strength at this distance. You need to respond somehow, quickly, lest this dragon decide you might make a good snack.

You close the door on your way out and immediately feel an unseen weight come off of you. Intimidate he said? Was that why you were so scared of him despite him seeming pretty nice? Is your aura making you more sensitive to things like that?

Asking all these questions probably won't help you right now, you need to do something else. You notice some of the lights in the hallway seem to be dimming...

Isn't that Bella's job? Is she gonna show up here soon? Closing your eyes you focus and feel what you think is her aura heading towards the direction of the fires. For a moment you think it would be a good idea to say hello. Before every interaction you've had with her comes crashing down on you. That probably wouldn't be a good idea...

Without your scarf you feel a chill run down your spine as you feel her cold breath on the back of your neck. You wait with baited breath as you wait for the spook.

You try and resist the urge to blush, but you feel the uncomfortable heat come on your face despite your protests. She seems to notice the heat and gets a shit eating grin on her face.

Deciding it might be a good idea to change the subject you ask if she can help you be more useful to the guild.

If it was simply shit eating before, her smile had reached face splitting now "Of course I could~ But you'd have to be petrified to get that training~"

You don't think you want to be petrified around this ghost again, but you don't really have much of a choice. You decide reluctantly nod mentally repeating the mantra 'its for Alice and the guild'.

She loses her smile somewhat, "But I don't really have anyway of paralyzing you right now. Either you have to get some stunning items and come back for that, but when you do..." She lets the silence hang for a second.

"I'll make it a enlightening lesson~ hehehehe~"

The guild better appreciate your sacrifice.

Despite her... experimental way of teaching you, you do eventually get a small bit of aura to form in your hand in the form of a flame. It barely gives off any light, but its better than nothing and is the true start towards your aura training. The hunger probably didn't help, but Bella was surprisingly nice enough to feed you something that wasn't poison to keep the lesson moving.

You make your way back towards what you feel to be your room from the residual aura you left by just constantly being there, feeling a bit tired from dealing with Bella's shenanigans.

You decide to go back to sleep and hopefully bright eye'd and bushy tailed when ever Faye and Alice return. Hopefully they won't be TOO upset about not needing the smelling salt.
