You are Purps. Amnesiac Starborn, blessed of Minerva, The Purple Firefly, Saviour of Grinnsmon and really fucking tired.

The corpse of Frank does what corpses do and sits still on the blood stained cobbles. It doesn't stink yet, but the craters you've left on the roof and floor from your rampage do ruin the atmopshere of the atrium.

In fact you can't help but feel this temple has been slightly ruined by Frank's degeneracy and your revenge.

You stumble over to the pew that you haven't destroyed and fall into it face down. "Sorry about the mess Minerva." you murmur.

You haven't slept since Hona's room and you have done nothing but fight and go through hell since then. You deserve a fucking nap.

You fall into a surprisingly dreamless sleep even as Minerva releases her hold on your friends.

You are Luc Maddison-Remy, Son and Attendant of Mayor-Captain Matthieu Remy. You have had a strange few days since your father took you to deal with some kind of emergency. He barely talked to you for the full ride since you were both pushing your enigmas to the limit. But that was okay, you were going to your first actual adventure as an Attendant!

Only it didn't go as planned. You found out the villain was defeated but not without cost and even met up with the heroines who saved your father's town. You made friends with Purps and trained with her while finding out the other was in a coma... but then your Dad got really angry and then you all had to leave.

Doctor Lexington and your dad haven't came back yet. You're trying not to show how scared you are, but if something can give your dad this much trouble it's really bad news.

But Purps and her friend Honamurei have been looking after you, which was great. In fact you had a lot of fun while travelling with them - even fighting those soldiers was fun in it's own way. What wasn't fun was this temple, the wolf men chasing you were kind of like the Lycan demons from your occult lessons.

But Minerva protects the wayward travellers... even Frank.... you were embaressed about something... and singing? You're not too sure all that matters now is the white light. And the lady sitting opposite you on a chair of pure light. She'd been playing you at chess on a crystal table that seemed solid yet cloudy. You always won against your dad but the redheaded woman super good.

You slyly move your queen back while standing. You're 90% sure you pulled that off while the lady isn't looking. "Would you like some tea ma'am?" You ask, walking away from the table and finding a rich golden carpet forming around you as you walk.

"I would love some Luc." She says with a wistful sigh. The room continues forming from the carpet, walls slowly coming into existanse as well as a pot and a small little fire rune.

The tea leaves are exquisite. Thornhill leaves from the town of Bornam; a favourite of yours from your home in the capital. You think the merchant who comes to visit your dad is only friends with him due to your expensive tastes in tea.

Wait, why is your special tea here?

You shake your head and look over your shoulder, the lady frowns for a second, before her motherly smile returns. "What are you thinking love?"

Nice 17.

You realize something. You've been playing chess with your mother. Specifically the version of your Mother from the day she was awarded the Valentin Award for great valour on the field of battle. You know this because it's the picture your father has on his study desk, it's also the one you got the court wizard to replicate for you to keep in your tea cupboard.

These leaves are probably literally the exact leaves from your home. More than that this whole room is a mishmash of rooms you've stayed in with a strange tendency to get locked into the light. You try your enigma and nothing happens... Well that just confirms it -

This is an illusion. You know that now. You were, in a temple of Minerva weren't you and then you....

It all comes back to you and you turn to your "Mother"

You take a deep breathe, thinking back to all your lessons. Angels, Fairies, Elves and some Demons are all unable or unwilling to take their true form on mortal planes unassisted. So they steal some.

"Who or what are you?" You ask

"What do-" She begins but you repeat your question.

"Your not my mother. My mother is dead. WHo or what are you?" You clench your fists, your mother was just under six foot tasll and wearing plate armour in that photot. So it's hard to conivnce yourself to square up to her.

"I'm Lady Minerva. Godess of the Second Sun." She admits somewhat guiltily. Your jaw hits the incorporeal floor.

You flinch when you think of something "Are you a demon?"

"What? No! I'm Lady Minerva! Why would you ask that?"

"Because demons can't lie." You murmur fidgeting.

"First of all; yes they can, if your father taught you that your mother and I would both slap him." She kneels down and offers you an awkward hug that crunches your bones, you think she's not used to this. "Secondly, for someone who prides himself on manners and etiquette caling someone a demon is very rude."

Her laugh is strange, the whole dimension???? rings out with her OHOHOHOH

You frown and continue interrogating the Godess, "Why did you bring me here?"

"Purps asked me to keep you two busy so she could deal with Frank. So I made you a little dream."

"You're right. I should have just told you you had to wait here for a bit." She hums and haws "But here's a question for you, where did the Priest read that from?"

"A book."

"And who writes the books about me?"

"The Priests?"

"Yes."

"Just because I nailed you on going agianst your teachings you're escaping on a technicality?"

She is silent.

"Lying is still bad." You say crossing your arms. "So what do you even look like?"

Your mother grins. And at the chess table she literally does that evil villain thing that all the bad guys do in those theatre plays. "OHOHOHOHO do you really want to see?"

You nods and clench your fist in front of you. "Of course I do!" You claim.

You force open your eyes again, finding that you are literally standing on a ball of gigantic fire.

You will not be here long Luc. I am the Second Sun.

You try to process this.

I dwarf your planet. Munis is but a continent among multiple continents. These continents and all the oceans make a plane.t And I am greater than that.

Your head hurts thinking of the scale. Something guides you to look and you see what looks like a blue rock with spots of green and orange.

Your planet is so incomprehensably far that I will never be able to influence it much

Fuck

My cousin Venura contros the void. The void is everything between me and your planet and other planets. He is the strongest of the Gods, but he takes no actionmerely watches.

You begin to interject but are shushed

I am telling you all I can because we may never speak again. Just remember, that every single blade of grass and drop of water on your planet is nothing compared to my true form's strength and that is nothing compared to my cousin's. We all have our place Luc. The key is finding yours.

You blink and the real world begins coming into focus. You're still in the temple on some kind of stage.

You fell fire in your veins and hear your blood puping in your ears as you realize just how big this plane of existanse is. You have so far to climb and there's so much for you out there; "Well Minerva I'm going to find my place! Protect my friends and what's more!" You point a finger, "I'm going to find a way to have you be my woman!"

There is a long very pregnant and awkward silence while you hold what you hope is an impressive and heroic pose. "Well then. You might want a change of attire first." Minerva coldly replies, you're not quite sure what she means by that. But then with a sound of OHOHOHOHO you are sent back to your plane of existance.

At the foot of your stage lies Frank, a pile of gore and blood. There is an impact crater on the floor and his leg lies on the edge of it, bone splintered and protruding from it.

You hear gentle snoring and see Purps; dressed in the borrowed clothes from Lexington, collapsed on a pew and snoring soundly. She has some blood on her face, which causes her nose to wrinkle.

Your heart skips a beat and you see once she adjusts the outline of her figure. Another part of you skips a beat and you blush. Maybe you need to make a list...

Speaking of what did Minerva mean by, you're wearing women's lingerie. You just propositioned a Godess in women's lingerie.

Your father would be so ashamed.

On Hona vs Purps:

Honamurei took him on with all of his thralls, with no idea of his abilities and was literally seconds away from killing him - she activated his explosive ward. Which was his kind of "final fuck you." plan. Meaning she was going to one shot him via face impalement.

Purps had some scoutiung, but hard countered a lot of his shit. But just like Honamurei, it only took him one good hit to put us down.

Now one thing to note is Purps can hit a lot harder than Hona, but what I was trying to show via the merc fight descriptions is just how insanely fast Hona is now.

I can't wait until we eventually play as her because she has a fun combat mechanic. So does Luc actually but I digress.

I think if it's not in open space Purps takes it by a hair. She can take one of Hona's best shots with No Sell and keep trucking (Dice willing) whereas if Purps hits a Minerva's Lantern or a good shot with Polesaw Hona is in trouble.

In open space, Hona would be a terror though; even Purps' claws and curiosity would struggle to keep up.

As for Rage mode? Well, Purps loses a lot of her ability to plan and be sane. It'd be a question of if Hona could kite until exhaustion or pierce that armour though - which I haven't shown or decided one way or the other yet.

Resuming after lunch.

"I need to find my clothes and my weapon." You think to yourself as you jump down from the stage.

Thankfully Purps had dumped her... stage costume right next to where Frank had kept our stuff.

Skirting the edge of the atrium in an effort to avoid Frank... you keep looking at the roof and the walls and the everything that is not the crater and corpse on the ground. But what you can't avoid is the embaressment of having to use a pew to cover you as you change out of your underwear.

Your rifle is still loaded, five shots left and an extra cartridge of seven. The big rifle is still in the wagon and your formal outfit feels so constricting and itchy after what you were wearing before.

With a yawn your realize Honamurei is rubbing her eyes and beginning to come back to reality. Maybe she got hit with whatever Minerva used harder than you? Or was she more under Frank's influence?

You wave to Hona and begin picking up the bundle of clothes that look to be hers. It's a bit of a struggle to manage with her sword and gun too but you make your way to the wings of the atrium and plod up towards the stage.

Hona tenderly makes her way down, landing with a thud that shakes some dust loose. She looks your dad does the morning after he visited that General friend of his. "Vank you Luc" She says ruffling your hair despite her other hand rubbing her temple. Up close you see the bruising and slight swelling from when Purps punched the everloving shit out of her.

"Are you okay Hona? That looks like it hurts." You say as you turn away so Hona can redress.

"Yes! Do not worry! Vhile I vas under that..." She stops. You hate it when people censor themselves for you as you're some kind of child. "Person's spell I vas not thinking right. Purps Vas right to stop me!" She giggles, "But I vill pay her back ven we spar!" She mumbles something to herself.

"What did Frank do to us?" You ask,

There's silence for a second, you think she probably shrugged and forgot you're not looking at her. "You are the one with magic Luc! Tell me vhat you think he did."

You take a moment to cover what's left of frank. It takes a good five minutes for you to find what you think was a priest's shawl to use - the white and gold robe covering the weird guy pretty decently.

Despite trying not to you can't help but notice the state of the body, leg torn off... not a clean cut; looks like what happens when you twist your Fornia bone the wrong way during dinner. Genitals mutilated, like he had been savaged by an animal and worst of all - his tongue lolling out from his chin where something pierced upwards. Usually a wound through the chin would be deadly... but this must have been small enough not to pierce the brain.

You lose your food when the tongue twitches, coating the pew besides you in what remains of breakfast.

Not a pretty, noble, graceful or even honourable death. But probably one you'll not forget.

You sigh and go to the pulpit as gunfire fills the antechamber. Hona's automatic weapon singing just as clearly as she had a short while ago.

The ground beenath the pulpit sings and the rood trapdoor reveals the powerful golden sptolight again.

You aim the light at the statue of (what you assume to be) Minerva in the corner of the room. It's small, barely the length of your forearm. So it takes a bit of precision. But eventually you hear mechanisms slam into place and a bunch of dirt and dust spits out from the wall to your left as it rises. Revealing a beautifully tiled room. Three doors lead off of it and you pump your fist in the air.

You step off to investigate only for the cieling trapdoor to slam shut again. Once the light is gone the wall also snaps back into place in around seven seconds.

Oh right. The light needs to be maintained to keep it open.
