It isn't something you do often, and to be fair to Shoko-chan you cheated a lot, nut drinking oni-spirit-children under the table is one of your more impressive tricks. What's really ironic is that you use a method similar to that used by the supposedly mythical hero Fujiwara Hidesato to do so. Namely, a two-covered-wine drinking box, which can hold, as near as you can tell, an infinite amount of liquor. So while you match them drink for drink, they actually drink a lot more than they think they do because it's inexhaustible.

Well, relatively speaking; you did steal a lot of wine to fill it with.

Shoko is passed out next to you, snoring rather cutely and leaning over her large jug of sake. You got her drunk to get some basic truths out of her, and because she really needed it. Like most of her kind, a bender does them good in body and soul, connects tem to their spiritual roots. It also let you reveal that Inau-kun was most certainly interested in Shoko-chan, and helped her be forthright about her feelings about your family and Yuuhi-chan.

Who has requested formal Tantric sex with you later and was totally embarrassed by the idea that you would like to make love to her. The first is simply something that is done, apparently, while the second is entirely meaningful to her, to the point of blushing and snuggling and gleeful squeaking noises. You also wanted to speak with your Herald – Yui-niji-chan – and your Harbinger – Akari-niji-chan – in depth today. The only other thing you have on anything remotely resembling an agenda is speaking to Kaga Kei, the Kaga sorceress-apprentice who might be redeemable that you have in one of your Barriers.

Otherwise, you will meditate, pray, and make yourself available to your family for whatever their lovely hearts and Pearls may desire.

Currently you're eating some very delicious tamagoyaki, with side dishes of vegetables, rice with sashimi, and of course miso soup, but the miso has been prepared in Ainu fashion, and is actually an fish-based soup with miso added. Ohaw if you recall correctly. This one is flavored, with all things, sea anemone which was given to you by the Ama Pearl Divers of Mikimoto Island. It is actually surprisingly good. Or maybe that's because you're an ocean dragonette and not a river dragonette. “Pukusakina ohaw,” you murmur softly, recalling what it is. Despite the fact you've never actually heard it's name.

Setting that mystery aside, you look up and see your family spread throughout the living room of the massive suits the landlord upgraded you with; the potent wards of this place are powerful enough to exclude communications through the Void, something that you have managed through Barriers and other, stranger places before. Er Yin made a workaround for that, using the charms and earrings that your family has been gifted with to bypass such defenses. You should have something made for Fuuta-chan, Shoko-chan and Yuuhi-chan sometimes soon; you made Inau-kun an ear-cuff carved with black coral that announces her as Your Angel, 'Amatsukami'.

Fuuta-chan and Yui-chan are having an interestingly involved conversation, your oni-chick having taken to the other oni-girl readily, despite her slight misapprehensions. Kiki-hime is speaking with Er Yin, and Akari nearby, and sometime Yui-chan will mention something to them, much of which causes the ordinarily shy Fuuta-chan to blush or look a little shocked. Kiku-chan is speaking with Inau-chan, and Inau-chan is smiling and bowing – praising the cook, undoubtedly, their Ainu heritage very obvious at this close distance. Yuuhi-chan is dozing against the wall next to the door, her plate of food half finished and her nodachi hugged into one shoulder.

[] Finish your meal and take time to pray.
[] Finish your meal and just relax.
[] Give Yuuhi-chan the rest of your food and visit the shrine room.
[] Wake up Shoko and feed her.
[] Just sit and watch for now, enjoy this moment of peace.

[X] Just sit and watch for now, enjoy this moment of peace.

You watch the soft conversations, the warm discussions, your family moving and shifting as they conclude or finish one conversation and move to include others in conversation. No one is left un-talked to, everyone here is included save those who sleep. No one is bothered while eating, unless they chose to include themselves, at which point they are easily taken into whatever conversation, even if it is merely the nods and soft spoken words that indicate they are listening while not currently contributing.

The core of your family seems to instinctively, automatically adjust to whatever their guests and friends are saying or doing or even needing at any given moment. It is odd to see how....how perfectly they maneuver and shift around and with each other. No one is neglected or ignored, no one is left out, and no one is forced to spend time with anyone they do not wish to spend. Uncanny, perhaps, if one didn't know their true nature as a kami in five parts. Amaterasu-Omikami has possessed at least two of them, and you have been told that one time you can call upon the power of the Goddess of Rice they are fragmented reincarnations of.

You have to smile as you realize one of Inari's aspects is protector of home and guardian of the household. It is just so obvious now that you take a moment to see it.

Continuing your meal, as per Kiki-hime's gentle demand, Kiki-hime excuses herself and then speaks to Yui-chan and Akari-chan separately for a short while, allowing Er Yin and Jinyuu-onee-sama, returning form her prayers, to speak with your newest seer. More oracle or visionary, rather. She isn't a seer of the same caliber as Jinyuu or Er Yin, but Fuuta-chan is an oni-child sorceress and a dream-visionary, which gives her a different sort of power than either Er Yin, Yui, or Jinyuu.

The amount of Void connected people you have is starting to concern you a little. Things are coming together. It might be worthwhile to accept Hebiki Rishi as a student just to balance out the mount of void and water. Not that you might have any choices aside from obvious ones in that matter. Inau-kun and Kiku-chan are sitting on the couch, talking together, and Yuuhi wakes up, and starts eating again. Shoko has stopped snoring, and is sleeping peacefully and deeply next to you. You have a short while before you need to be with Yuuhi by yourself.

[X] Mingle with Inau and Kiku.
[x] See how Fuuta is getting along.
[x] Call Chisato-chan.

You finish your meal, and give thanks for it with head bowed and hands together, very softly. Only then do you rise and place your dishes away for the moment; you have no idea how chores will be taken care of, but you suspect Kiki-hime will manage something. You mostly think that because she seems to have a very strong hold over the household, even though technically she's the principle and supposedly under guard. In the home, however, she seems to have almost more weight than you do.

Probably because she's cuter than you, as opposed to more beautiful. You're mostly elegant.

You walk over to Inau-kun and she blushes a little at the view of your bare belly given by the slightly too-short sweatshirt you are wearing, but she doesn't burst any blood vessels yet. Kiku-chan looks up at you expectantly. “I don't mean to interrupt the cuisine discussion, but I did have a question.” The look of bemusement that Inau-kun has is counted quite readily by the nonplussed look Kiku-chan gives you. “Would you both be willing to teach me how to speak Ainu?” Their expressions change, looking almost chagrined or even worried. “That shouldn't be a particularly strange request, you know.”

“When I was growing up it was illegal to speak it, teach it, or even admit that the language existed, aniki,” Kiku-chan points out. “Even today there is some controversy about how pure the language remains.”

Inau nods as you kneel next to them as they stay on the couch. “Even my own understanding of my native tongue is more a case of my mother's gifts making me retain more of the language than I perhaps would have otherwise. I suspect Shoko and Yuuhi would actually be better to learn from....”

You can't help but smile. “Learning Ainu from a half-oni, and a somewhat unusual nogitsune-born?” Inau-kun colors, embarrassed and Kiku-chan hides her lips behind her sleeve. “There are many things I will and would like to learn from them, but a foreign language is not one of them.”

Inau-kun bows her head. “Ah, please excuse me!” You shake your head, and gently lift her up.

Kiku-chan is still considering it, and then asks softly, “Is there a particular reason you wish to know this language? It is not merely to spy upon our conversations, because you could do so with a translation book.” Unwholesomely aware, as expected of your priestess.

[] Admit that it is your mother's tongue.
[] It's more that you want to be polite and speak to everyone properly when you need to.

[XXX] Admit that it is your mother's tongue.
[X] Not a particular reason, just many small ones.

[+] Because Kiku-chan is fun to tease, of course.

Aside from the fact that Kiku-chan is quite correct – you can translate almost anything you hear in minutes with a proper grammar guide and a good translation booklet – actually learning the language and speaking it is more involved than simply looking up phrases and meanings. Especially for Water dragonettes and oni-children.

You curl your legs beside you and rest your arms across Kiku's slim thighs, making her grip the couch and straighten in alarm. Her feet don't even reach the floor. “Well, would I need any better reason than to whisper how much you are loved in your ear in your own tongue, Kiku-chan?” you murmur in a sultry voice, as her hair wafts up in the burst of hot air along her body. Her sleeves flutter and billow, and you run your talon-tip up her thigh slowly.

“Besides, it's so much easier to eavesdrop on my more-than-half Ainu clan if I actually understand their language, you know. I would love to hear Er Yin singing you a lullaby in Ainu as we press on you from both sides~” You are forced to stop because helping poor Inau-kun to stanch the blood that is coming from her nose is kind of important; her clothing stains easily! “Ah, gomen, gomen!” You apologize more to the family who nearly panicked on behalf of the poor demigod, and hand her a damp cloth.

Once everyone has calmed a little you continue. “Really, there are a number of reasons, Kiku-chan. I mean, the ones I mentioned ARE reasons-”

“....hentai dragon....”

“But more....it is something many of our family speaks, and it is a beautiful language, but really....” You consider carefully. “It is the tongue my mother speaks, you know. She is apparently Ainu. Which I suppose isn't really a surprise, or shouldn't be, but it was anyways.” Sadly, while you may not truly trust Himeyuri on many things, this you do believe. Then the realization of why you should really learn the language hits you, as you hadn't expected it to. Because....well. “I would like to greet her in her own language, miko-chan. It would make me feel better, to have that connection with her, when I have none now.” It hurts to realize that fact. It never occurred to you that you were missing more than a father, or any siblings. Your blood family grew suddenly, out of nothing....and you have only just realized it.

Kiku-chan is looking down, serious, while Inau-kun looks like that's the nicest thing anyone has ever done for anybody, despite the tissue in her nostril. “I will teach you, Ryukusa-sama. I would be....remiss in my duties to you if I did not.” Kiku-chan looks at you, and there is a softness in her expression, a gentle look that you very rarely see upon her delicate face. Even when she capitulates to your requests, she usually looks more stern, more imperious. Inau-kun nods slowly, agreeing to teach you as well, but she sees how serious Kiku-chan is, and curbs her obvious enthusiasm for the task.

At this moment, Kiku-chan looks at you with gentle sympathy, your request having hit home in a much deeper way than you had expected for some reason, perhaps many reasons..

Hello XS.
>>
[XX] kiss their hands and thank them from the bottom of your heart.
[X] hug Kiku and Inau-kun respectfully and thank them.
[X] baka matchstick, now you're going to make me cry.

You take each of their hands and lift them in yours – taking a tiny bit of extra care with Inau-kun's hand, as it is in your left. “Thank you very much, Kiku-miko-chan, Inau-hanta-kun....” Each hand is delicately, gently kissed, between their ring finger and their index finger, the touch of your lips as soft and warm as you can make it, in deference for the gift that they have given you in this matter. Because it is a gift – from you, to the woman who gave birth to you. A person you didn't even know still lived until recently.

Inau-kun mouths the odd addition to her name, and Kiku-chan gives a slight shake of her head and taps the young huntress on the shoulder with her tail to distract her from the confusion that the title causes. You politely ignore that happening, and gently squeeze their hands as you rise, feeling your wife approaching you from behind. Rising, you give each of them a warm and reciprocated hug (albeit with squirming reluctance on your priestess' part), which attracts some attention (more attention?) from the rest of your family, who nonetheless respect the situation and don't interfere.

“Enjoy the day off, you two,” you say softly, smiling gently for them. “If you will excuse me, I'm going to go get my tears dried by Hime-chan.” They both bow slightly, Inau still somewhat confused, and Kiku-chan once more insusceptible and annoyed, though you can see the concern in her golden eyes. Seriously, she's a prime example of what happens if you make a face to long.

Kiki-hime is indeed approaching you, her hands tucked into her sleeves, a mischievous smile on her lightly painted lips.

[] Embrace her casually, see what's up.
[] Gently lead her away from the other two, this seems like something personal.
[] Kiss her hand and rub your cheek against it; you'll feel better.

[XXX] Have her walk you to the shrine, you really do need to prepare soon.
[XX] Embrace her casually, see what's up.
[X] Kiss her hand and rub your cheek against it; you'll feel better.

Reaching for her hand prompts her to offer it, instinctively polite and receptive to the social niceties as she is. Taking her hand in yours, you delicately kiss it, with no less intimacy, but somewhat less reverence. Even as you move closer you raise the back of her hand to your cheek, feeling the warmth of her skin and inhaling the scent of cherries that she seems to carry with her like a constant companion. You once thought it was her rinse, but no, it is actually her scent. And her warmth, her scent, is exactly the kind of comfort you need at the moment. “Kiki-hime, what may your husband do for you?”

She giggles as you release her hand to fondly embrace her. “I have a request for you, otousan.”

“Mmm, sounds ominous,” you murmur, though it totally doesn't. “Walk with me, my lady, and we shall see what dire consequences we can heap upon you for your temerity!”

She giggles and shakes her head. “Ryu-chan, you totally can't make that sound threatening.”

“I know, something about being all curvy and having a contralto voice just ruins the anime-villain soundtrack, really. But I do keep trying!” She shakes her head and wraps her arm about yours as you walk down the hall towards the small room set aside as a shrine for any and all who might live or visit here. “What may this useless lizard do for her princess?”

She lightly swats your arm, and smiles at you. Something seems to click, and she tilts her head. “Are you okay, Ryu-chan?”

[] Yes, just realized something weird.
[] Mostly, kasan; I'll be fine.
[] Eh....still deciding really.

[X] Yes, just realized something weird.

It takes you as moment to frame your thoughts in a manner that won't overwhelm her. “Well, I realized two things. No, that's not quite true; I found about them recently, but the understanding just now came over me. Most – nearly all – spirit-children are partly or wholly orphans, you kno9w, right? It's the nature of our parents to split up before we're even born, just because of what we are.”

She nods, understanding. “It's something we get used to early on, just because it's a fact. I've never really met a spirit-child who hasn't coped with that situation....” She was much more active with your school mates, much more familiar with them. It would only make sense for her to see that aspect of their lives in detail.

“Well, I found out yesterday – last night – my mother is Ainu. And she's alive. Living with my father.” She looks confused, and then it hits her, as it hit you. “You're not an orphan at all!”

You shake your head, agreeing with her. “I thought my mother was dead and my father had retreated into the spirit world completely, but the dragon I thought was my father isn't, and my mother is alive, in Ryugu-jo, living with my real father. And she's from a culture I know very little about, and I'm only now realizing how tightly I am tied to that culture.” She glances back at the living room as there is a soft burst of laughter, an excitable Yuuhi-chan expounding upon some bit of insanity while Kiku-chan's temper ignites a hot debate.

“She hugs your arm and you look at her in surprise. “That's wonderful Ryu-chan!” You blink in surprise. “You actually get to meet your real parents, both of them, at the same time! That's something that almost never happens!” Let your Water Eyes open, because you're really not sure where she's getting this from; your own viewpoint is quite a bit different than what she seems to think of the entire situation.

Kiki-hime, raised by a dedicated and influential father but lacking all but the most vague stories of her mother, sees such a reunion as a wondrous thing, a good thing in the midst of all the bad things that happen around you, to you, and will happen because of you. This one small thing is, to her, like a gift, and is a rare occurrence among the spirit-children: the opportunity to meet both parents, in a situation where they at least are together by choice, instead of separated by fate, necessity, nature, or sheer chance. Despite everything else that disrupts your strange, dangerous, and to her, cruel life....you have a unique, wonderful opportunity that can only be dreamed of by most of your family.

[XX] That's....something you hadn't really considered.
[XXX] Share your thoughts on the matter, though she has a point.
[+] Okay, that's an unusual idea, and while it may not be the case, you really will take a good look before judging.

You let your Water Eyes close, and think about her feelings and thoughts on the matter seriously, comparing them to those you have had so far. It takes the space of a few heartbeats of course....

From your point of view meeting your mother will be like meeting a complete stranger, made more so by the fact that you were literally told exactly nothing about her other than she was dead. Yet being where she is, with whom she is with, she will undoubtedly have been able to find out anything she wished to know about you if she wanted to. You haven't a clue if she would even want to. No, that's not true....your sister mentioned that she was given your name by your mother, specifically so someone could make offerings and give you prayers if you died. So she obviously cares, and not a small amount to have given your name to someone as strange and dangerous as Ryuu Nabiki became – to say nothing of the risk that contacting your elder sister while she was within Clan Ryo would have been while you were a child under Oba-san's care.

That doesn't necessarily mean that she and your father didn't abandon you to your fate, unfortunately, but it does put a somewhat stranger spin on it than if you had gone with your own feelings and perceptions alone.

“It is a good point, Hime-chan,” you murmur as you open the door to the shrine room for her. She bows twice before it, as do you, and you enter together. “But that also brings up a lot of strange questions. How do I treat someone who allowed me to be used, abused that way by Oba-san?” She blinks, and then frowns slightly. “I realize that Ryujin Owatatsumi is a Great Kami, and therefore his reasoning is unfathomable to a little dragon like me, but my mother went out of her way to contact my elder sister – not Jinyuu-onee-sama, but my REAL sister.”

Kiki-hime gapes at you.

“Well, Jinyuu-onee-sama is still onee-sama, but yes, I have an elder sister. She is a demigod, and apparently holds the power of Aokigahara in check. I used the Wishing jewel to help her return from being a youkai.” Her expression brightens and she laughs at you. “What?!”

“You can't even help it, Ryu-chan. You sacrifice a sacred jewel to save a sister you hardly know from being cursed, and you don't even think twice about it.” She smiles brightly, taking your hand and kneeling with you before the altar.

“Oh, I thought about it. It was the only thing I could do to....” She simply looks at you, grinning. “Okay, yeah, you're right, I really didn't think about anything other than helping her. But this is a woman who gave birth to me....” She smiles even more brightly.

Damn it.

“You're right. I'll do my best to make sure her smile is protected, no matter what happened to me or to her.” She leans forward and kisses you on the forehead, giving you a benediction you honestly didn't think you'd need. She's absolutely correct of course. It doesn't matter what happened before, or what happens next – if she's safe, happy, and taken care of, that's really what matters....and what mother wouldn't be proud of a daughter like that? “I don't know how you do that,” you murmur softly.

“Do what, Ryu-chan?”

“Know me so well that you don't even need Wood Eyes to guide me in the right direction,” you admit, softly. You really will have to meditate on all of this, which isn't a bad thing, just something you hadn't really expected to have as a part of your life.

“That's because Ryukusa is Ryukusa, and her family is her family.” she lifts her hands, indicating the building around you. “It doesn't take much to understand you at all, Ryu-chan. All you have to do is look at the people you love, and everything becomes very clear.” You smile, feeling quite a bit better, actually, because she's absolutely correct. Everything you've done, from start to finish, has been written out in four words. “You protect their smiles.”

The door opens, and Yuuhi bows twice and claps her hands together in prayer. She is dressed in a soft, flowery kimono of white silk embroidered with carnations and lotus blooms.

“What was it you wished to ask me, hime-chan?” you ask, recalling why she approached you in the first place.

She smiles shyly, her cheeks blooming with heat. “I would like you to wear a dress for me.” You start to point out that you have warn dresses but she shakes her head. “An evening dress for me, later today. A very nice, Ryukusa-designed, evening dress designed for me.” That kind of brings you up short.

[XX] ….For my princess, anything.
[X] ….Not exactly what I expected....but all right.
[+] IS there an occasion you should know about?

You try and recall any dates, special occasions, or otherwise important milestones that may be worthy of such a peculiarly specific request. You can't think of any, even with the advent of the time trapped in a peculiar sort of Hell, a situation you think Kinashut Kamuy herself may have engineered for her own reasons. Nothing at all comes to mind.

“Well, for my wife, anything that makes her happy,” you acquiesce, despite a faint misgiving about the wasted effort. Which is not something that you really consider it to be, only something that it will be later.

….

That's annoying.

Yuuhi steps into the shrine, and you glance at her, smiling, then turn your attention back to your very, unusually, entirely too pleased wife. That special stupidly-in-love smile is plastered on her lips this time (and you know she's done the same to you more than once, so you know what it looks like) so you take advantage of the moment to kiss them. “It isn't entirely what I expected you to ask of me, but I should have something ready for you this afternoon, at the very latest. I may need a rest after Yuuhi-chan is done with me, mind you.”

That brings an arch smile to your wife's lips instead. “Oh really? Anything I should know about?”

“Aniki and I are going to have sex and then she'll be ready for anything,” Yuuhi says with utter aplomb, startling your wife into staring at her.

“Sadly,” you explain, “she means exactly that.” Your wife turns to you, and sees your slightly regretful expression and breaks into giggles.

“Well, then, I will leave it to Yuuchi-chan.” She stands, and gives your strange fox a hug, which surprises Yuuhi, and winks at you. “I have a date with Akari and Yui!” she says, teasingly over her shoulder, looking rather wicked and blushing despite her attempt at naughtiness.

“Be gentle with Akari, Hime-chan.” That makes her stumble and she looks at you oddly, but you maintain your gently serious expression. Her consternation increases....and then her eyes widen as she realizes what you mean; she could hurt Akari quite badly, by accident, being of Wood as she is. She turns back to bow to you and Yuuhi, and you both bow to her, before Yuuhi joins you near the altar, kneeling. She shuts the door quietly behind her.

Yuuhi-chan bows her head, clearly meditating or praying to the shrine, which is dedicated to a variety of kami and kamuy, though not specifically to you. Amaterasu-Omikami is of course the primary deity represented in this one, along with Kamuy Fuchi.

[X] ….chase down that stray worry and kill it dead.
[XX] Send a quick thought to Kiki-hime; she should put out Rie's octopus.
[XXX] Meditate and prepare yourself.

You have only been home a single night, really, so you send a quick thought to your wife through the Void. (Could you do me the kindness of setting out Rie's takoyaki please? Add a little hot sauce and just have someone set it on the porch for her.) The warm amusement of your wife's response settles into your heart, and makes you feel all cute and fluttery inside.

The fact that she will have someone else do the actual placement makes you feel even better; she won't take any unnecessary risks and that's a very good thing.

Meditation comes easily to you. Or rather, it did, before you became a demigod. Still you try your level best, and it works for a while. But the flickers and flashes of that shadow over your household, that annoying little twitch of darkness that seems to come up out of nowhere is starting to get on your nerves.

“It's a future,” Yuuhi says out of nowhere, startling you into opening your eyes.

The diminutive nogitsune-born still has her head down, her ears tilted forward. “You will feel and see things before they happen, in very small ways. More often than before, aniki. It's your Water being fed by the other elements.” You frown faintly but before you can ask, she answers. “The more balanced your elemental nature is, the stronger your basic element becomes. Everyone holds all the elements, but you are Water yourself. Oni-children have the same thing happen. Only Oni and Dragons have elemental natures that they pass to their children.”

That seems reasonable. She falls silent and you leave the future where it belongs, concentrating on the here and now for a while. Your eyes open of their own accord, and you know it's beginning. Yuuhi rises, saying nothing, and slowly discards her robe, revealing the sleek, pale body underneath, her tail waving back and forth slowly, her ears perked. Her glowing eyes look down at you as she gestures for you to stand.

You do so, shedding your own clothing slowly. She lowers her hands, and a wreath of Ghost Fire, pale and green in the relative darkness of the candlelit shrine rises from where she stands. It slide up her body as she lifts her hands, and you realize she's purifying herself with it. Following suit, you do so as well, the ocean water rising along your body, cleansing you of any impurities, spiritual and not. When you are both done, she looks at you and speaks softly, her eyes bright, aware, intense.

“Sex between women is normally a mystic null, Ryukusa-dono. There is no masculine energy to generate any force, and Yin cannot strengthen Yin, nor weaken it.” Her hand rises and you mirror her, lacing your fingers with hers. “That which is empty remains empty when filled with emptiness. But you are not just Yin....you hold the Jing of Horobi, the essence of Yang in the destructive power. Yin can be destructive, but it's destruction is...” Her other hand rises and you lace your fingers with hers once more. “....passive. The death by drowning, the loss of air, the life that fades slowly. So sex with you can be a thing of power that gathers Yang to you, strengthens your Yin as you do so. You, only you, can do this with us.”

You nods slowly, understanding what she means. She slowly presses her body to yours, and before she kisses you, whispers one last thing.

“You cannot have a climax with this, Ryukusa-dono. You have to retain the strength and power of it for yourself. So you must give, and give, and give, and receive and receive and receive, but you may not be fulfilled.” You swallow, and nod. This might be harder than beating up oni. Rie needs this from you, though, you know that now.

Wait, what?!

….the future. The NEAR future.

….kamidamnit.

Fair enough, but is it like "you must not climax from tantric sex" or "you are not able to cum for as long as we do this" ?
>>
>>730801

>>730861 is correct; the purpose of the experience is to collect and maintain her Jing energies so they can be transformed and focused into Chi or Shen energies. she has plenty of Jing energy, but it really isn't DOING anything, especially since she's immortal already. So the purpose of the Tantra ritual is to give her extra Shen and/or Chi to work with.

Apparently Yuuhi thinks she will be needing the extra power.
>>
>>730998
Specifically, for this ritual, she is not allowed to climax.

It's a life force (Jing) cultivation method for men, though women can use it as well to different effect. In this situation Ryukusa is being male rather than female, so she doesn't get to 'get off' in order to transform the Jing she would ordinarily be spending during sex into another type of energy. (This is also commonly done in certain Kundalini rituals.)
