You pat the pistol on your hip. "I'll bet this."

A mechadendrite rises into your vision, and carefully takes the pistol from where it lies. A moment later, it is returned to you, a small engraving having been etched onto the barrel.

"Don't hold it back from us, or that mark will name you Liar and Thief. Upon completion of the match, your pistol will be collected again, and the mark will be removed, one way or another."

You nod once and move away from the bookie, walking towards the entrance for fighters.

As you go, the crowd before you parts like water, and you can feel the eyes of those around you digging into your back, waiting to see what you will have in store for them.

Upon entering the small stall before the ring, a servo skull floats in with you. You look at it for a moment, and then notice the camera in its eyes are sweeping up and down your body.

Someone has taken a special interest in you.

The door opens and the ring is open to you. Across the way, two mechanical hulks lumber out of their respective door, and two smaller bodies squeeze past them, the weapons strapped to their body flashing in the light.

You take aim at one of the smaller servitors, letting the sights line up on its body, your implant working to find as much as it can to aid your firing.

Your nerves fire into action, and the muscles in your upper body clench as the loud boom of the gun echoes around the Grounds of the Pit, reverbrating in your skull as a great fogginess invades your weak flesh ears still attached to you.

As soon as you notice it, the original bark of the finishes, sending its deadly contents flying towards the small servitor you had aimed for.

As the solid mass of the metal slug impacts on the servitor's body, you see that you had aimed true, as this servitor was still relatively fresh.

What remain of its feeble guts spew and you see a sparking hole in what had replaced the orinal heart. Killing it where it stood, a Perfect shot.

+1/???

+1/???

+1/???

You can perfectly imagine the sound the lens make as suddenly becomes that much more interesting.

You can also feel the recoil shaking your arms now, the laws of Holy Physics telling you so.

Your shoulders twist to the right, as if compensating for a rifle. It helps, so it seems, to a certain amount, but you feel you should have practiced with this monster of a machine before testing it in glorious combat.

A thought for another day then.

After your weak recoil, you can feel the glaze reduce on you by a certain margin, taking your shot to be mere coincidence.

You'll just have to prove them wrong.

You line up your second shot, already preparing for the noise and recoil this time. You fire, and the second Servitor falls, a gaping hole torn out of its chest.

While you've been focusing on the smaller ones, the large Servitors have not been idle. They have been moving to either side of you, trying to position themselves to where you would be stuck in between them.

The hulking masses now make themselves known to you as they being encroaching on your position, their arms having been replaced by large swords.

The way directly in front of you is mostly clear, but if you made a mistake, both of them would be able to get a swing on you, and you are not fond of that idea.

The two servitors take up the areas diagonal to you, and it would be extremely unwise of you to head directly to them, as they could easily crush you up against their huge bodies.

You could try to slip around them, and go to where the bodies of the two smaller Servitors are, but then you'd be taking the chance that they don't have a second system within them to get back up and start trying to kill you again.

>>
>>722731
Since the baby wheels are still on, you'll just miss the chop and take a nasty hit, but yeah, the large Servitors are literal combat Servitors, not training Servitors
>>
1/3 Passed, FAILURE.

Your mind fires off, thinking of how you could get yourself out of between this rock and hard place. You think you see the Servitor on the right stumble slightly, so you take your chance and try to move past him, Chain Axe in hand, just in case an opportunity avails itself.

An opportunity did avail itself, but it was not yours.

You move, Chain Axe at the ready, but your weak, fleshy legs fail you. Your plan had been to move under the giant's swing and attempt to damage its arm, but that has failed.

As your legs churn under you, the goliath notices your sudden movement and swings for you, hitting you as hard as an Imperial Train full of Leman Russes. The impact catches you on your left shoulder, and it is only due to your armor that you retain the arm, but it most assuredly broken beyond use. Perhaps you should use this victory to replace your skeleton?

You turn your knock into a roll, moving out of the way of the bulky combatant.

You are now behind both Servitors, closer to the two disabled ones.

Your left arm is no longer functioning, and the pain is excruciating now that you have a moment to breathe.

The pain screams through your flesh-and-blood body, alighting every nerve, screaming at you to forfeit, quit, anything to remove this burden from your mind.

Failure is not an option for you, however. You have gained too much attention from those watching, and to give up now would harm your reputation in ways that cannot be recovered from.

You hear the lenses around the ring focus on you and your broken left arm and shoulder.

The left combat servitor. We can't take hits from these guys, so we need to stay out of melee.
>>
>>722807
>>Shoot something. (Specify what.)
Point and shooty.

Shoot the cunt that hit us point blank in the chest. I'd say head but I don't want to miss.
>>
>>722841
You are not at point blank range.

You would be dead if you were at point blank range.
>>
>>722807
Use the bodies of the smaller servitors as a barrier to keep the combat servitors from getting a clear charge. Then aim and fire a bullet into the head or any relatively unarmoured area of the closer servitor (ideally we'd blind it but if it's head is covered in a solid chunk of steel I don't want to waste the shot).

Then prepare to dance away to maintain space while we keep pumping bullets into them, I think that's our only viable tactic if they lack melee weapons.
>>
>>722856
Are you sure you would like to take the time to pick up and move the two servitors when Cletus and Garknuckle are moving towards you?
>>
>>722847
You know what I mean.

Just shoot the cunt.
>>
Gonna have to call it a night guys, I'm not feeling well and I'm tired as all get out
>>
Sorry for the short time running.
>>
>>722888
Oh god no.
I just meant stand so there's one of the bodies between us and their big brothers. I'm not expecting much cover but if it takes even half a second for the combat servitors to go round them then that's a another shot we can squeeze off.

>>722898
Thx regardless
>>
>>722731
I thought we were picking what servitors we'd get to boss around and help us.
>>
>>723037
I'm concerned about our remaining healthy arm. He Whom We Serve has stated that we can fire the Hancannon two-handed, but would need an augmented wrist to do it one-handed.

My point being, SHOOTING might end the fight by self-incapacitation.

>>722807
>write in: check if the smaller servitors carry grenades and use those; if not, keep the big servitors blocking each other and chop for the legs.
>>
>>722898
>>722902
We have to try and shoot the big servitor n the head, our only chance of survival is quick incapacitation
>>
>>722807
Try to line up a shot that hits both of the big guys in a vulnerable spot since if we only have 1 hand left we won't hve any after this shot. this is gonna be a bitch to roll isn't it?
>>
>>724512
If you choose to do this, it will be more than a bitch to roll.

However, you can shoot the hand cannon one handed, it will just incur a penalty to do so, and rolls will reflect that. That being said, it is still easier to do than fight melee monsters in melee
>>
>>724535
Oh
I was under the impression that firing the hand cannon one handed would just instantly break the mcs wrist since it was stated that he could only use it two handed...
>>
>>724540
That was my fault. MC can use hand cannon one handed, it is just very difficult and accuracy will suffer for it.
>>
>>725030
How faster are we than them mobility wise O False Emperor
>>
>>725447

the Emperor guide us in this matter?

Also, given what the Emperor said here >>731831

A good plan would be to use our calculus logi to predict the paths of the servitors and chartout a course around the arena to avoid them while taking pot shots when we could (trading some shots per turn for staying out of their range)
