After the battle with the small legion of zombies, you and the small girl walk- or rather, you walk and drag the coffin she´s on- towards the biggest pile of junk you can see- and you begin climbing it.

The fight- the way you moved, like you had been fighting all your life, like you had been made for fighting, scares you more than the zombies themselves- What have you become?

"Lilly, stay down there, please- Tell me if any more zombies approach" You say to the girl.
" Lilly?"
"Well, I have to give you a name- at least until you remember your own, right?"
"Lilly..." She mumbles. " I like it!"

" Oh, thanks for helping me down there...you didn´t really have to build the shelter, or try to play with me... you even risked your life for me down there, and we met eachother yesterday! You´re like- like one of those heroes in tv, protecting the innocent and stuff! You´re great!" She blurts out- She really thinks highly of you- you´re not sure what to think about that, but it feels... good, in a way.
"As long as we´re in this place, we need to watch eachother´s backs...Besides, I couldn´t just leave someone as cute as you to fend for herself, you know"- You aren´t looking at her right now, but you´re pretty sure she blushed at that.

Standing at the top of the heap, you take in your surroundings, the area you´ve been in since you woke up in that coffin...- You see that not the entirety of it is flooded, but rather, some of the heaps fell down during the downpour and acted as a dam, which is why the area flooded itself so quickly. Outside of the area, there are a few coffins scattered about, opened- some of them broken, probably by the walking dead. You look at the buildings in the distance, gray and imposing. Tall pillars of concrete, uniform except for the cracks and broken windows, some of them overgrown with vegetation- The city has been abandoned for some time.

You think you catch a flash of light in the corner of your vision, from one of the broken windows in a building- And your body moves almost on it´s own, as a gunshot impacts your left shoulder, piercing it in it´s entirety and leaving a wide, circular hole, bleeding profusely- it´s impact throwing you backwards and down the heap. You roll down the pile of scrap, catching your clothing in various pieces of metal sticking out, tearing parts of your skirt.

>>
Your left arm is now heavily damaged at the shoulder. It won´t operate at normal effectiveness until repaired.

You manage to catch yourself before falling into the remains of one of the zombies, floating in the water- You arm hurts badly, but the pain is dulling- it´s there, a constant reminder of the open wound, but it doesn´t fill your mind, letting you think clearly again. Lilly´s screaming rings in your ears.

" Tanis! Are you okay?"
"Lilly, we need to move- whoever shot me is still there, and i´m sure they´ll try to shoot us again if they see us- we can worry about my arm later" You say, wincing. You can barely move your left arm, much less use a weapon in it.

You need to move, and quick.

>Move backwards, further into the junkyard, back to where you built your shelter- Hopefully you´ll be able to exit the sniper´s range.
>Move towards one of the junkyard´s exits you saw when you were on top of the pile- You need to get into a more secure place, and the buildings outside should provide enough protection- if you can avoid getting shot.

>Move backwards, further into the junkyard, back to where you built your shelter- Hopefully you´ll be able to exit the sniper´s range.
it's 1 am here so I can't stick around too long, but I liked what I saw of the first thread even if I got to it late so... here I am.
>>
“Let´s move back- if we try to exit now we´ll be too exposed”
You carefully edge around the pilar, trying to get a look at the location where the shot came from- only for another shot to thankfully miss. This sniper must have a ton of ammo, or he/she really want´s you dead- perhaps he was overlooking your fight with the zombies? But then, he would´ve had a lot of opportunities to shoot you when you wouldn´t have been able to get out of the way.

You take advantage of the cover provided by the scrap heaps to move as stealthily as you can towards the place where you started, hiding under the water when no cover is available- it´s disgusting, filled with giblets from the zombies you smashed apart with the metallic pipe, but it´s better than getting shot- You hope your open wound won´t get infected, though…
Think we´re out of her sight?
Her sight?”
Well, a zombie wouldn´t know how to fire a gun, r-right? What if it´s someone like us?
You´d rather not think about that
“Well, whatever it is that´s firing at us, it´ll probably keep at it until we put some more distance between us- maybe she´ll grow tired of waiting, at least.”

Your arm hangs limply at your side, covered in grime- you aren´t a doctor, but you´re pretty sure that you shouldn´t even be alive with how much blood you´ve lost- let alone conscious, or capable of moving the arm at all. Just what happened to you?

As you near the place where you built your original shelter, you can see a couple of coffins that weren´t there before, likely washed here by the rain. One of them seems to have had it´s door torn from its hinges, but the other remains closed- though you doubt someone would still be inside it after the flood. There is hardly any trace of the shelter you and Lilly built, except for… the doll, which is inside the open coffin. The flood would have surely destroyed something so fragile and made of mud- so someone must have saved it- but the flood was rapidly increasing when you left the shelter, so whoever it was must have found it quickly- or already knew you were there…
>Search for the one who saved the doll. You could use some help
>Go further into the junkyard. It could be dangerous to remain here.

Someone saved the doll- it´d be a shame if you just left it there, but you´re careful when you take it, as it could be a trap. You slowly reach down to it, extending your hand… and nothing happens. You grab the doll with your damaged arm, still holding onto a piece of metal with your right one

Why would anyone save something so…ugly?

Tanis… someone was here
“Right… think we should look for them?”
Uh, well, I don´t know if we should- I mean, we need the help b-but it could be a trap
“True… but we do need all the help we can get- and if it´s not, we should warn them about the sniper”
Maybe they already know
“Why do you think that?”
W-well, the gunshot was pretty loud right? So maybe they´re hiding because they heard?
It makes sense, at least. You begin your search around the spot where your shelter used to be, trying to find any clues as to where the person who saved the doll might be

You search around the washed out shelter, taking care to not step into any of the sharp pieces of scrap thrown off the heaps by the flood, which slowly drains in the absence of rain- If it wasn´t for the water having washed off whatever footprints could have been left, it would be much easier to find someone who had not been paying attention, but it proves impossible to make out any sort of trail in the ground. While looking, you take the time to put things in your mind in order-
You know you don´t feel hungry or thirsty, even though you haven´t eaten or drank in at least a day, most likely a much longer time, since everything seems worn down. You woke up in a coffin, as did Lilly. Your fight against the zombies- you did things that you could have never done before, you fought like you had been training for It your whole life- but you had never been in a fight before. Your arm, as damaged as it is, still works to some degree. You don´t bleed out.
You´re pretty sure you´re not human.
Uncomfortable answers have reduced your sanity
You sigh loudly. You don´t want to think anymore.
“This is going to take a while- if she´s even here anymore. Wait, what´s that?”
You find the corpse of one of the walking dead- torn open at the stomach, it´s insides hanging limply out of the gaping hole, huge chunks missing- as if they had been ripped out and devoured, nowhere to be seen. You feel sick. The trail of blood seems to lead around the thrashed car the body is leaning against- You slowly walk around the car, trying to avoid making noise.
Reveal yourself!” Shouts a voice behind the car as you´re about to turn a corner.

You take a step forwards, showing yourself. The girl looks at you straight in the eye, her mouth surrounded by still wet blood, and her hands holding the flesh ripped from the zombie on the other side of the car. She´s been… eating them?

“Calm down- I´m not going to hurt you”
And how do I know that?
“Why would I hurt you? “
… You at least can talk, and you haven´t attacked me like those other zombies…
“Like those other zombies? I´m not a zombie!”
Sure, sure. Hey, were you the one who fired a gun before? Where are you hiding it? Or- now that I look at your arm… who shot you?
“There´s a sniper in the buildings. She shot me when I was trying to get a better look of this place so I could exit”
Oh, I see” She says, as she starts gnawing on the entrails again. She looks at you “ I´m not sharing
“I don´t eat… I haven´t felt hungry since I woke up”
Good, that´s just more for me in this place then

She´s certainly… something

“Did you save this doll?”
Huh? That thing? Yeah, I thought someone would come back for it. It´s yours?
“Yeah, I made it. Thanks for saving it from the flood”
No problem… so you make things?
“Well… not really. I just thought it would help me remember my past”
What does the past matter? What we did before whatever the fuck happened doesn´t matter anymore. What matters is what we do now
That´s… a weird way to look at it, but she´s definitely not a normal girl. You take a closer look at her, noticing the red color of her hair beneath the dirt and grime she´s covered in. She could look cute if she wasn´t covered in blood and guts.

So do you want anything else, or are you just going to stare at me like an idiot?
“I was wondering if you´d tag along with us- we need all the help we can get to escape this place, and you could just eat everything, since we don´t get hungry…”
Protection and food? Sounds like a sweet deal. I´m in
You didn´t expect it to be so easy to convince her, but she seems willing to go along if that´ll get her more food. You´re not sure how to feel about her, on the one hand, she creeps you out, and she´s strangely okay with everything that´s happened- but on the other hand, she could be a huge help.
“I´m Tanis. You?”
Guess you need to call me something if we´re going to work together- I´m Sarah.
“Pleased to meet you”
Yeah, whatever.

You´re not sure if you like her.

Hey,c an you pass me the zombie´s arm? I´m still hungry
“…Sure”
You walk to the other side of the car, where the corpse is resting- It´s oddly devoid of any sort of flies or other insects you´d think would be in a wet, corpse-filled area- Did the insects die too? Perhaps you should be worried about zombie mosquitoes- The thought is actually rather terrifying, if they came in huge numbers…
You gingerly grab the corpse´s rotting arm, pulling weakly at it- it´s skin tears with surprising ease, but you need to pull for a bit before the arm comes clearly off, spraying you with blood. It´s disgusting- how could she eat this?
You still there?
“Yeah- it´s just… how do you eat this?”
Hey, it´s better than starving. I don´t really mind, it tastes good.
You toss the arm over the car, and soon hear loud chewing and gnashing.
So,*chew* You found anyone else?”
“Yeah, i´m with another girl, found her not long after waking up. She doesn´t remember her name, so I call her Lilly”
Oh… that´s good I guess. ” With that, she resumes eating. Every once in a while, you toss her another body part, trying not to think too hard about it.

You should probably do something before you start asking questions.

Lilly is waiting for you- you really should get back to her as soon as possible. You tell Sarah that you should get going. While the hour is hard to tell with the perpetually cloudy sky, it´s likely not long till nightfall- and while the sniper might become less of a threat, zombies are much more dangerous when you can´t see them approaching.
" Aw, this was beginning to feel like a picnic- but you´re right. Besides, i was running out of food already"

You and Sarah walk back towards where you left Lilly, and she immediately begins running towards you when she sees you- You can see Sarah tensing up, but she relaxes when you call out to Lilly.
" Hey! You found someone else!" She says, excited. " Did you two find any zombies? You´re all gross and full of blood"
"Well... Lilly, this is Sarah. She eats zombies?" You say, not knowing how to put it nicely.
" She...she eats zombies? Why? I thought we didn´t need to eat anymore"
" Well, I do, so you´ll have to deal with it. Just look away or something"
"rude..."

Now that your little group is assembled, you should decide what to do- Sarah apparently fights with her hands, from what you´ve gathered talking with her while she ate, and Lilly doesn´t really fight, at least that you know of, but you probably should get a weapon before sundown...

>Search for a weapon in the piles of scrap (1d20)
>Begin building a shelter- if you´re well defended enough, chances are you won´t need a weapon.

yup, glad I could make it.

It´d be a good idea to make a shelter, you think- while trying to exit the junkyard at night could work, there´s no guarantee that you´d be able to get there in time, and being caught out in the open could be a death sentence.

You , Lilly and Sarah begin searching through the heaps for materials, trying to find something that could hold make for a good ceiling- You find some planks that could work, but wouldn´t protect you from rain- and it might very well start raining again, so you end up putting the coffins up as a ceiling, held up by a couple metal bars, which you could use as weapons in a pinch, as you found out in your last battle- Though they are rusty, and break easily, they could easily break open a zombie´s skull.

" You know, i hadn´t really thought about building a shelter, the rain didn´t bother me that much... but it´s nice to have a ceiling. Something other than this awful gray sky."
" Yeah... the sun hasn´t come out since we woke up"
" It´s only been like a day... maybe it´ll come out tomorrow?"
" Wouldn´t count on it, but whateve makes you happy I guess"

The light slowly dims as the sun sets behind the clouds- the gray sky becoming darker and darker, as if it the sun itself was dying out. It was not a pretty sight- but at least it was time to sleep now. You take the first turn standing guard- now that there´s three of you, you can afford more sleep- and besides, you want to watch over Sarah... You don´t really trust her all that much yet.

When you wake up, you´re greeted by the sound of rain once again- you can only hope the junkyard won´t be flooded again.

You...
>Try to find an exit, avoiding the Sniper- maybe she´s not even here today.

Before doing anything else, you should search for weapons- it´s been a while since you saw zombies, but they´re likely still roaming the area- it would be unwise to leave without having at least weapon for you and, in case of emergency, for Lilly.

You start digging into the biggest pile of scrap around, rolling up your sleeves so as to avoid damaging your clothing- You cut yourself a couple of times, but you don´t really mind. It takes you while, standing in the rain, arms deep in thrash searching for weapons, to find something useful- but you aren´t dissapointed- you find what looks like a discount sword from an antique shop, and a crowbar.

You take the crowbar, since it´ll probably be a lot more useful- both as a weapon and as a tool. It seems to be really light, or you´re just strong enough to wield it easily with one hand, even though it´s pretty big for you. You´ll give Lilly the sword, since it breaking won´t be much of an issue, as you don´t plan to have her fighting much...

You walk back towards the other girls, getting inside the shelter.
" Oh, you found weapons for you two? Why don´t you just punch´em? They´re really squishy"
" I think we shouldn´t even fight them... they´re scary."
" But it´s so fun to fight them! It´s like, punching jelly or something, they are so easy to kill it´s ridiculous"
"I... don´t think we should just fight them unless we need to- we would just be wasting energy, and we´d be wide open for the sniper to shoot us"
" About that sniper, she´s in the city, yes?"
"Yeah, on one of the buildings, I think- she might have moved somewhere else overnight but..."
" You wouldn´t count on it, yeah?"
"Yeah... we can´t afford to be to optimistic right now"

The three of you sit in the shelter, watching the rain fall- It seems to be getting stronger again, you probably should get moving soon.
