The plane ride over was uneventful, and most everyone was tired by the time you arrived.

After today's briefing, you observe as the Junior Poles make a couple of sacrifices to the shrine of the Marquis de La Fayette. Several other students gather around it as well, mostly the new girls. “Protect us, Marquis! We offer you sacrifices of sodapop, candy, and uh...” Serafina holds up some pink panties. She looks over at her gunner, who simply meekly smiles. “... right.” She tosses the panties onto the shrine. You roll your eyes. Superstition never won a match. But you're not going to be the buzzkill today, especially since it's drawing the Poles closer to the new girls.

For now though, you were mostly wandering around. The spectator fair was quite dusty, thanks to being in the middle of nowhere in New Mexico. It's not like New Mexico ever made anything nice according to your Dad. And unfortunately for your parents, they simply could not afford to fly out to the midwest to cheer for you in person.

That doesn't mean they won't do it by phone though. You shudder.

Still, everyone was gearing up for the match, making themselves look pretty, the whole lot. The Light Music Club especially were testing out the loudspeaker they fitted onto the top of the Jagdtiger. “Alright!” yells Jane Fogerty. “Play it!” A loud screech whines from the loudspeaker, shocking everyone. “AH! TURN IT OFF! TURN IT OFF!” It cuts out.

“Well,” says Iris as she wipes her ear with her finger. “Perhaps you can stun the enemy with controlled bursts of static, Miss Fogerty.”

As you walk around however, you look down. Huh? You pick something up.

Oh, it's a Bandaged Bear. You look at the tag. No, it's a Boko Bear. Huh, Japanese. Does this belong to somebody?

But call out on the way there. We don't have time to quest for someone, but we don't have to rush to the Lost and Found.

> Walk around, see if you can find the owner.

You hold it up to the air. “Hey, did anyone drop this!?” A few of the girls look over, shaking their heads. Nope. Hm. “Iris!” She looks over. “Did you drop this?”

“What use would I have for a Boko Bear?” she asks with some amount of contempt. Well, that was worth a shot. You shrug, continuing to walk around. You'll eventually find the owner of it. Maybe it belongs to Gertrude or Griselda or Gertrude's friend Kitten. Regardless, as cute as a Boko Bear is, you're not going to steal it or anything.

Anyway, you decide to set your direction for the lost and found.

“Excuse me!” you yell. “Hello! Someone dropped this bear!” you declare. Several people pass you by. “Is this someone's bear!?” You hold it out for little kids as well as they pass by. The parents that accompany them mostly say no to it, mostly. Others just assume you must be pawning it off and keep moving. Well, whatever.

If you wanted to pawn something off, you could do a better job, you've done that before.

Still, you keep walking. You check your watch. Ugh, there's so little time before the match too. “Boko!” You blink, stopping. You see a very young looking teenage girl run up to you, with light-colored hair, bright eyes, and an amazingly frilly black and white dress. She carefully closes the distance by walking, putting her head down and holding out her hand.

“Oh, is this yours?” She nods slowly. “M'kay.” You place it in her hand. “Just- are you sure? I mean-”

“It is mine,” she says quietly. She immediately hugs it. “I was looking all over for him. But thank you.” She bows to you.

You smile a bit at her. “Don't mention it.” She reaches into her pocket. “Oh, no, no, I don't need a reward! It's just-”

She places a much smaller Bandaged Bear in her palm, small enough to serve as a keychain in fact. “You are Elodie Zumwalt?” Uh. You nod at her, yeah. “I will be watching you.” With a face of stone, she nods again to you, then turns around and walks away.

You look at the little Bear in your hand. It has a medical eyepatch, a bandaged up ear, and a shiner on the good eye with pale brown fur. Huh. That was um... that was interesting. “Wait, who-” You look up again and find her gone, completely in the crowd. Damn. You didn't catch her name.

Oh well.

The Historians all look in awe of your recently painted Oliver. Your crew though all lay around, tired from all the painting you did last night. It's for a good cause. “Wow!” says Patton. “It's like the British tanks from North Africa!”

“Classic counter camo pattern too,” says Suvorov. “This be the finest camo pattern yet!”

“We spent all night making it,” Winona croaks as she lays face down in the earth.

Stack rubs her gloved hands, smirking. “All of you guys are pussies. It was fun stuff! And now we're more likely to get away with our lives with this camouflage.”

“Yeah,” says Ingrid. “But who knows how long the paint will last. And I'm not repainting this tank.” She shades her eyes from the hot sun. “So are we gonna do the match or not?”

“We are.” You shove the little Bear in your pocket. “Are we pumped up and ready to go?” They all shrug, except for Stack who pumps her fist and nods violently. “Come on guys, I know we spent all night doing this but you had a good sleep!” On top of you of course, it better be a good sleep if people really want to sleep on top of you, damn it.

Winona sighs, pulling herself up. “She's right.” She stands up, holding up her hand. “I'm ready!”

“I am ready as well!” says Josephina.

“Me too!” says Stack.

Ingrid looks up from her phone. “What? I'm checking the scores.” She rolls her eyes. “Okay, I'm ready to.”

“LET'S DO THIS!” yells Stack. “WE'RE READY! ARE YOU READY, ELLIE!”

You, Iris, and Griselda meet in front of the large viewing screen. Before you were the many commanders of Hugo Gernsback School for the Arts. They wore no particular uniform, instead just showing up apparently in casual dress. Well, casual in a manner of speaking. Short shorts, bright shirts, scarves, pants under skirts, striped leggings, and colored hair.

Salome Del Rio was the tallest among them, with calm eyes behind thick glasses, purple hair tied into a ponytail done up with some little paintbrushes. She herself wears black and purple thigh highs, with a white tank top smeared with dried paint, under a brown trenchcoat and black short shorts. Yep, these were artists alright. “So, this is Lafayette Girls Academy, yes?”

“Yep,” says Griselda. She and Salome shake hands. “It's nice to finally meet you, Salome.”

“Likewise.”

“So, you are an artist, correct?” asks Iris.

“Indeed I am, yes.” Salome smirks, obviously proud of that fact. “See, to understand a culture, you must learn their history, their philosophy, their artwork. History will unravel itself, and the people of a nation will become clear to you when the art they do is understood and dissected like a frog on a lab table, yes.”

Griselda smirks a bit. “She sounds a bit like Grand Admiral Thrawn, hehe.” Who? Everyone looks at her a bit funny. “Y-... you know. Grand Admiral Thrawn-... blue guy? Star Wars EU? N-... nobody? Okay.” Griselda clears her throat, blushing a bit. “Well, it's nice to meet you all the same. Looking forward to our match.”

“Of course.” She offers her hand to Iris. “Good luck.”

“Same,” she says as she shakes it.

“Good luck.” She offers her hand to you.

With your starting positions now set, you all hang out of the cupolas and await the beginning. “Alright. Jane, your tank is going forward and draw their fire should they reach the ridge. Ellie, you'll take a force south and try to come up through those small passes around their right flank, I'll go with you. Iris will take the heavy tanks and move north. Everyone got it?”

Jane says, “We'll have to play some morale boosting music for this. It's a good thing they let us bring our Spotify and our cell phones aboard.”

“Please, no more ABBA,” says Jane's gunner. Suddenly, Waterloo by ABBA starts playing.

The flare shoots up, exploding in the air.

“Alright, follow me!”

“On the bounce, people!” yells Griselda.

You decide to take advantage of good, flat ground, and go full tilt southwards. Griselda will bring up the rear. Following you are the medium and fast tanks, the Panzer III and IV, the Hellcat, and of course the Sherman. Northwards, Iris is taking the IS-2, the Pershing, and the Tiger II. And all by her lone is Jane, moving down to the center of the line.

You see some dust clouds form up in the distance. They're on the move, and judging by the size of that cloud, they're moving fast. They must recognize the value of the ridge. But since you're faster, there's no way they'll get there first and be able to take advantage of it.

“Wow!” says Stack as she peeks out the loader's hatch. “This is just like that Call of Duty 2 mission!” What!? What is she talking about?

Griselda calls out to you. “Eyes out.” She contacts you directly. “Ellie, take point. Which direction are we heading?”

“You know, for a match that features a lot of heavy tanks, this is pretty boring,” says Ingrid. “Where are they?”

“Patience!” Stack calms Ingrid down a little. “Heavy tanks are slow, we'll have our day with them soon enough.”

Your tanks move along the ridge, trying to keep your visibility to a minimum as you approach. Finally, you see a good slope that appears to be gentle enough to allow all of your tanks to climb up with no hassle. “Alright, Josephina. Take us up this slope here.” Your tank starts to roll up the slope gently, and alongside you, the M18 Hellcat. Dalia pokes her head out, directing her crew with good commands that allows them to keep up the slope without slipping.

“Right,” says Griselda. “We're making good progress. Iris, what's up with you?”

“Not much,” she says.

“Can't say the same here either,” says Jane.

“HELP US!” yells Gemma, from the Light Music Club. “SHE WON'T STOP PLAYING ABBA!”

“WHY DO WE EVEN LET HER CHOOSE THE MUSIC!?” yells Pam, also from the Light Music Club.

Instruct Jane to crank that ABBA to irresponsible volumes. It'll help cover our engine noises as it reverberates across the open desert.

We want to get into a hidden position and then lie low, wait for the enemy to close to closest possible distance before ambushing them and then moving into a brawl situation.
>>

Unlikely there's no good position to cover the ridge crest from near their start point and sacrificing such an incredible position as the ridge in a gamble isn't something a competent but not brilliant commander would do, even if they are a bit eccentric.

>>712002
Given they have fat slow tanks compared to our faster ones, they might simply assume we'll get there first no matter what and declare bugger it. It's only an asset if you have total control of it.

They don't need cover. They're already bigger and tougher with longer range guns. Just line up and blast away.

> Head westwards and establish ambush positions.

You roll your tanks around down to the southern hill, and establish ambush positions behind it to mask your presence. Hopefully, anybody who rolls down that road ahead of you is going to get pasted real good. You poke your head out of the cupola and think. Fastest thing they probably have are the TiGER Is, which means they'll be coming in waves most likely.

You look out with your binoculars, and sure enough you see a column of five Tiger Is going down the road closest to you. Further you can see more tanks, but thanks to their camouflage and the sheer distance they're at plus the surrounding bushes, you can't tell what they actually are. They blend pretty well with the Tiger Is to be very blunt.

“Alright, we have contact,” says Griselda. “Iris, you're going to be encountering some tanks when you head south.”

“Copy,” says Iris.

“Elodie. Set the pace, fire when ready.” You have a decent flank shot, but it is a very long ways away...

Wait for them to close. Then fire whatever is our best tank killer round. Have each tank fire on a specific target so we don't double up and let one get by.
>>
>>712186
Vote still the same here, open up and everyone help Stack.
>>
>>712204
This seems like the best merging between the two ideas. It's not the time to shoot, but it's close.

Still want to use the -2 CP here.
>>
>>712240
I'll support the intuition half heartedly. We can confirm 5 tanks which raises the question of where are the other 15. Are we sure those tanks over yonder are all of them?
>>
>>712204
They're only a k away, any closer and they'll almost certainly spot us as we're not in particularly concealed positions.

>>712272
They're back West, still driving, and another group are headed North (likely the Tiger IIs as they're the only ones that could keep pace with the Tiger Is) The rest of their team's too slow to be here yet.
>>
>>712284
They have the legendary so as far as I am concerned, they move at the speed of plot.
>>
>>712352
not really, look at the Char2c stats, it has no suspension and runs about 9 mph.
>>
>>712352
The Char 2C's plot moves at 15kph. And that's with 45mm max of armour. This is an uparmoured version, it probably moves at like 10kph.
>>
>>712365
the uparmored version is 90mm frontal.
>>
>>712358
>>712365
And you should be able to see a KV1 before it sneaks up on you but here we are.
>>
>>712397
That KV-1 was legendarily sneaky though, that was its special ability. 'Lorraine' isn't legendarily fast or mobile. It's legendarily big and commandy, that's what it will be good at.
>>
>>712417
Oh you thought I was talking about the Char itself? I meant the other 14 tanks. They will move as fast as needed to achieve what the plot needs.
>>
>>712425
Most of the other tanks are slow as shit except maybe the Tiger I and II
>>
>>712436
Legendary tank lets them move at plot.

“Alright, everyone start stacking shells!” You pop bck down and grab a shell of your own. Then you realize that since Josephina and Ingrid are still separated by the compartments for the hull MG and the driver, uh... “Okay, I guess I'LL BE THE ONE TO STACK SHELLS.” You gotta fix that once this set is over. Stack loads in an APCR round. “Ready, Winona?”

She nods, pressing her eyes to the gunsights. “Targeting rear tank first.”

“Get ready to fire on Ellie's mark,” says Griselda. All of your tanks level their barrels down, ready.

“Fire!”

The APCR shot flies across the way, slamming into the engine block of the rear Tiger I. It immediately sets aflame.

> KO: WEAVER WHITEHEAD (Tiger I)
> KILL CREDITED TO: ELODIE R. ZUMWALT (Cromwell III “Oliver”)

Everyone starts firing as well. Griselda's shot manages to sneak into the suspension of the middle Tiger. It as well pops up.

> KO: KIM FROST (Tiger I)
> KILL CREDITED TO: GRISELDA POOL (M4A3E8 Sherman “Janus”)

Stack loads in a new round. “Ready!” Immediately, another shot goes right into the lead tank. The shot bounces through the gun mantlet right into the top armor, cracking it. The other Tiger Is start to panic, stopping in place and trying to rotate in place, unsure of whether to retreat or advance.

> KO: STACY BLACK (Tiger I)
> KILL CREDITED TO: ELODIE R. ZUMWALT (Cromwell III “Oliver”)

“New target!” says Winona. You hand Stack the next shell and quickly stack a new one into your arms. The next one is an APDS round as one of the Tigers starts to rotate to face you. Winona fires, this shot goes right through the lower glacis, popping the engine block into flames.

> KO: MIDORIKO KOBAYASHI (Tiger I)
> KILL CREDITED TO: ELODIE R. ZUMWALT (Cromwell III “Oliver”)

The other Tiger starts to fall back under the heavy fire, managing to face its front hull to your fire.

You pop up again, continuing to peer out. Let's see, let's see. No time to celebrate three kills in what was essentially a minute. You see the faint silhouettes of very big tanks coming your way from the west. Okay, there's the Maus, there's the Char 2C, but out of range so far. You turn your head again to the north. There's the Tiger II tanks approaching and uh...

oh.

They've all turned around to face you. Okay.

“Smoke shells!”

“Retreat!” yells Griselda. Everyone starts to pop smoke as you start reversing backwards. After you're behind the concealment of a cloud of smoke, you all turn around and make for the furthest southern point behind the hill that you can. “Right, wait for them to close in. We'll attack 'em once they get close. Smoke them first.”

You nod, waiting.

And waiting.

You all stand turned out of the hatches. “Where are they?” asks Ingrid. “Uh... Iris? You see them?”

“We just crested the hill and are moving down. It appears they have retreated and have now formed one big tactical blob,” She says. “The Jagdtigers and the 2C behind, everything else in front, including the Maus.”

“Damn.” Griselda slaps her turret top. “They didn't take it.”

“We're not gonna be able to break that alone,” she says. “What are your orders?”

“Hold tight.” Griselda looks over at you. “Ellie, you've got the fast tanks. If we let Iris go first and attack and distract their guns, can you rush them and sow confusion and allow the rest of us to close into firing range?”

“Wait for a bit, Griselda. We need to let Iris and Jane get into position so we can let them all come in at once.”

Griselda nods. “Good idea. Iris. Jane. The two of you are gonna move up, we'll wait until you're in position.”

“Got it,” says Iris.

“Righto!” Jane declares.

“HELP US!” yells Jane's driver. “AAAAAHHHHH!”

You lean back and wait.

And wait.

Stack lays back on the turret top, wearing some sunglasses as she lies back. Ingrid and Josephina lazily play rock paper scissors, while Winona gently pokes and prods at your leg. Stop that! You gently kick at her, and she goes back to moping in a bored fashion.

“They sure are patient,” says Dalia.

“They're not patient, they're passive!” says Suvorov. “Passiveness is never rewarded! They have sacrificed the initiative to us!”

“Uh... right,” says Benny.

“Iris, in position.” Finally.

“Jane, we're here!” You check your watch.

It took them two hours to drive all that way. How!? The Jagdtiger isn't even that slow!

“Alright, commence attack, Iris, Jane!” Griselda buttons down. You hear some pops in the distance. There it goes.

“Okay, Dalia, get on my six, we're going in now!” Dalia gives you a thumbs up then turns down into her turret. “Alright, let's go go go!”

Your tanks start to blast off, with Griselda and the remainder bringing up the rear. As you roll around the hill, you see Iris and the heavies start tanking shots from the King Tigers, the remaining Tiger, and all the rest of Hugo Gernsback line up. Unfortunately, the IS-2 receives a critical detracking as they close in. And before the judging computer can calculate it, a Jagdtiger finishes the job right in the side of the turret.

> KO: REGINA TANEY (IS-2m)
> KILL CREDITED TO: LUCY SIENNA (Jagdtiger)

“We're dead! BUT WE SHALL RETURN NEXT MATCH!” yells Regina.

You continue racing across the flats, rolling down a slope to get even more speed. “Here we go, here we go!” yells Dalia. “FULL SPEED!” Your tanks start to race alongside each other as you close the distance. They fire a shot, which plinks off the mantlet of one of the Jagdtigers. The formation, all pointed at Iris, now immediately starts to spread out and disperse as you all come in. Yes, it's breaking up! Even the ones with the turrets are turning to face you.

“Iris, keep closing in!”

Dalia's 76mm fires again, snapping the last Tiger in the side.

> KO: XERINA AZUL (Tiger I)

“YES, WE GOT ONE!” yells Dalia. “Wooo!”

“Deploy smoke, now!” You fire smoke in front of your position, concealing yourself just in time. A huge barrage of heavy shells immediately shakes up your advance, throwing dust and muck into your eyes. “Shit! What the-” A King Tiger's frontal armor immediately comes into view. “HARD LEFT!” The tank immediately steers past. “Oh shit!”

Oh God, it's like trying to shuffle between an elephant stampede! > KILL CREDITED TO: ELODIE R. ZUMWALT (Cromwell III “Oliver)

The Maus fires, knocking the Hellcat onto it's side. “AAAH! FUCK!” yells Dalia.

> KO: DALIA EARNHARDT (M18 Hellcat “Mifune”)
> KILL CREDITED TO: ASHLEY ORANGE (Panzer VIII Maus)

“Fuck!” yells Griselda. “That Maus isn't going down!”

“And we can't exactly pull any Nishizumi bullshit!” yells Serafina. “How the fuck are we-”

The gun suddenly explodes on the Maus. You blink, and look back to see Jane Fogerty finally joining the fray. ABBA plays loudly over its loudspeakers.

“HERE WE COME TO SAVE THE DAY!” yells Jane. The gun on the Maus is now completely wrecked, with the coaxial 75mm as well blasted out of alignment. You all fire at the tracks, snapping them off.

> MOBILITY KILL: PANZER VIII MAUS

The Char 2C meanwhile tries to ineffectually fire and keep you away. Iris responds with a shot to the side.

> KO: SALOME DEL RIO (Char 2C “Lorraine”) LEGENDARY
> KILL CREDITED TO: IRIS BLACKBOURNE (Churchill IV “James”)

You all gather around the Maus, and proceed to plink and pluck away at the hull. “Load, keep loading!” you shout to Stack. She hurries to load in shell after shell. Your remaining tanks continue to fire and fire.

Finally, one of you finds a weakpoint in the armor, and it shatters the Maus engine and forces it to yield.

-

“One-two-three, LGA!” you all raise your hands, cheering as your killed tanks roll by on tank transporters to be repaired in time for the match in the morning. You smile as you walk with your crew back to your tents. “That was great!” Winona says. She rubs some grease off of her face, smiling at you. “We got a lot of kills today!”

“Probably not as much as Iris though,” says Ingrid. “She's a beast out there. She probably would've won MVP today if we didn't do that charge stuff.”

“Yeah, well...” You blink, looking to the crowd as they welcome you. “Call it providence I guess. We still gotta win tomorrow.”

“Yep,” says Stack. She pumps her fist. “Let's break out the cake though, come on!” Your crew start rushing ahead, and you make to run after them too but...

You blink again, looking to the crowd. That girl is there again. She waves at you, holding her Boko bear.

> Ask for her name

“Hey!” You walk up to her, surprised that she's even here. Well, she did say she'd be watching but well... who is she? “Hey, uh... I didn't get your name, I'm so sorry.”

The girl looks up at you, then bows to you. “Shimada Arisu.” Oh. That's a lovely...

You blink. THE SHIMADA ARISU?! Oh God, oh God. You're not decent! You're completely filthy! Y- You're standing in front of Tankery royalty! Sweet Jesus Christ! She tilts her head, apparently noticing that you're shaking and somehow frozen in place by her. “U... uh. N-Nice to meet you. It's an honor.”

She nods. “You did well in your match today.” She looks to your pocket. “Do you have your Boko?”

“Oh, uh...” You quickly fish it out of your pocket. “Y-... yeah, I do. He really helped me, thank you, Miss Shimada. Did you want him back?”

“Keep him,” says Arisu. “I will be around.” She bows to you again, then turns around and walks back into the crowd. Wa- wait! You try to push through the crowd to find her again. Through thick and thin you push through but alas...

No, you don't find her at all.

She's gone.

Griselda walks up to you. “You looking for somebody?”

“D-... didn't you see her?” Griselda tilts her head, confused. “Arisu Shimada! The Shimada Family Ace, the heir to the Shimada-ryuu! She was here! She talked to me!” Griselda looks skeptical. “You don't believe me, do you.”

“I believe you,” says Griselda. “But... why would she want to hang around our team? What she's got to do with us? Besides, I haven't seen eye or ear of her, neither has anybody else.” Really!? She should've been recognized at some point! “Don't worry about it. Come on, we're gonna cut some cake.”

“O-... okay,” you say. Griselda takes your hand, leading you away.

But you still hold the Boko in your hand. She was here.

And she's watching you.

Highlights

- LGA: Elodie Zumwalt leads daring charge to scatter numerically superior and tougher Hugo Gernsback line, routs the team and causes chaos.

- CMR: Candido Mariano Da Silva Rondon school ambushes Heinlein column from behind trees and bushes, charges directly into formation. Two Heinlein tanks go down in friendly fire.

- JWC: Perrine Hobart collapses bridge beneath Sherbrooke GH tanks, five tanks killed.

- JWA: Char B1bis tank "Eure" bodyblocks narrow bridge to allow remaining team to escape from Kuromorimine tanks at cost of its own life. JWA tanks rally and win elimination.

- CG: Meryl Hoffmeister eliminates all 20 tanks from Scarridge High School singlehandedly in one day. Becomes the 5th person in High School Tankery history to perform this feat.

With this match, Ellie moves up ten places (still in the midpoint of the pack, but growing in underdog popularity from other schools. There's even a fanclub for you in Kuromorimine owing to your cool and undaunted demeanor).

However, with Meryl's 20 kill day, she now moves into first place by 4 kills. Iris no longer leads the Western League in kills.

Thanks for the run.

I will endeavor to do some more work on the Oliver. model this week. Bassically addind some additional armor to the turrent front and the bow armour. and maybe the turret cheeks. I havent seen any cromwells with anything beyond that.

Also got the Thunderbolt in so Gris Gris's ride will be joining in.

It's worth noting that the turret applique actually covers the whole front face of the turret except the mantlet 'hole' itself. So the gap on the diagram isn't entirely representative. This is a VIIw with applique applied.

Yup. Seen that photo. Its also got the layout on the crew cab face. I haven't seen any 'field mods' for additional armor except 'track armor'

I don't count Exhibition match kills though, not split them up like you do, plus you usually do the counting for me. You're work's still appreciated.

>>714762
The Brits didn't like welding too much applique to their tanks because it slowed them down, a lot and they had a penchant for using that weight instead to store huge amounts of kit, camouflage netting/hessian strips, weapons, extra fuel, water, food and tools all over their tanks. The exception to this were the Guards units who would never stow anything anywhere except for designated stowage bins/hooks, but they could also never modify their tanks because that would be against the rules and most unbecoming of a gentleman soldier.

>>715401
That's not a 20-pounder, it's a Challenger which is an enlarged Cromwell hull with a new turret mounting the 17-pounder. It was produced through '44 to the end of the war as an alternative to the Firefly in units equipped with Cromwells like the Armoured Reconnaissance Regiments and the 7th Armoured Division. It was actually quite successful, being slightly smaller than the Firefly and a more stable firing platform while the huge slab sided turret provided excellent conditions for loading the 17 pounder if making for a bit of a large target.

There was a modification of the Cromwell that used the 20-pounder called the Charioteer, but it was a post war stopgap development and was hampered by the 20-pounder really being an oversized armament for the chassis, consequently it had poor gun depression, crew ergonomics and by the time of its introduction, very poor survivability compared to stuff like Centurion or the T-54/55s.
>>
As promised, here is the spreadsheet.

Everything is, in order, and while I don't predict that Iris will get over the 50 mark this week, Ellie and Gris are likely going to get over 30 and 20 respectively. Still waiting on Suvarov and Regina to hit 10. It's close. Dalia also put in good work today.

Meanwhile I like Ellie as the underdog for All-Star, still kind of want her to be bubble girl, but that's just because Ellie is Ellie and her finding a different underdog way in would be so like her.

I like to think she's a hit with the strategy fans, but not so much the kill heavy fans.
>>
>>715486
Unfortunately Suv getting any kills this weekend's unlikely, she's still only got the L/42 50mm. Not really gonna cut it against these heavies.
>>
>>715486

Yeah, it's true. But we can dream.

Anyways, I'll continue to discuss the inner workings of all star voting.

>Elodie's face when
She is just way too modest.

I kind of also want to see her interact with a member of her fan club who doesn't fawn over her like most of the girls usually do. And appreciate her as a capable tank commander. I mean, who knows? Maybe that will bring in at least one new team.

Not to mention it's going to do wonders for sponsorships while also being super hilarious when Elodie is thrust into advertising. That is so not her thing.
>>
>>715535
I agree and looking at the stats, while i do understand the situation, Gris-Gris is rather average as a tanker.
>>
>>715535
Actually I want a fan club crew to show up with another Cromwell. They'd start out liking Elodie really superficially and generally being overbearingly helpful, often bungling things in the process and eventually we'd see them grow into appreciating Elodie as a mentor for her ridiculous work ethic, frugal financial know how and keen tactical mind, developing their own sense of and love for tankery in the process.

>>715543
A 3.8 to 1 K/D ratio is hardly average.
>>
>>715555
I mean i wonder how a full team will work out for her.

I kind of expected her to take charge more.
>>
>>715543
>>715555
Yeah and what is more impressive is that she's doing it in a three man crew, you have to remember she's undermanned. Now, you could argue its a self imposed handicap, and it is, lets be honest. But it's still impressive.

That said, law of fan voting does have her in an interesting position, because yeah she looks average, when compared to Iris' brutal grace and Elodie's keen tactical mind, but she also has experience, which means she's still got fans out there.

>>715555
That would be pretty sweet. But you know the anon's wouldn't stand for someone bungling a match. As evidenced the two times it has happened When realistically, it's also our fault. But tell that to anon.
>>
>>715557
With a 3 person crew, she's probably too overworked to focus on really commanding the team, which is why she leans on Iris and El so much.
>>
>>715565
> the anon's wouldn't stand for someone bungling a match
Actually for the most part they just wanted to give them stern lectures, which I actually happen to agree with. Sometimes part of the learning experience is having your boss chew you out when you fuck up. Then you take the experience and learn from it.
>>
>>715565
Eh, I still blame the Polish for being fuck ups, but they learned from it and haven't been annoying.

The other time, i do not recall.
>>
>>715586
Gris throwing the ITL show match.
>>
Also I feel like it should be mentioned that we've actually got the perfect setup for Durocher to pick us if it ever came to such a thing.

>Commissioner Durocher folds her arms, smirking. “There’s no exaggeration when it comes to subordinates.” She gently nudges your arm, smiling. “Take the compliment, don’t be so modest. Sometimes people love a big good ego.” You shrug at that, you’re not so sure about that.

and later Gertrude...

>“A rookie on a mean streak,” says Gertrude. “Look, don’t sell yourself so short, Ellie. It’s not good for the brain if you constantly beat yourself down, makes you think you’re not good enough to do anything.”

Man, if it didn't run counter intuitive to the quest and our victories, I would love to see us not close the gap enough.

>>715585
I agree, but most of time there is a lot more fire and brimstone and THREATENING TO LEAVE THE TEAM involved. So you have to forgive me for my skepticism.
>>
>>715587
Ah, right. I didn't mind that we lost so much as I got angry when anons wanted to low-ball and being nice to Gris-Gris.

I understand Gris-Gris has issues but when we had to constantly tell her to be cool and still went off the rails, she needed that lecture.
>>
>>715589
I felt the opposite, she needed to relearn what she did wrong and anons wanted to give her a headpat and everything will be okay. So i blame that extreme reaction because people wanted to go soft.
>>
>>715595
>>715607
I mean it's totally fair to be angry too, it's just that we had two extremes shouting back and forth at each other. I was more carrot, though not nearly as extreme as to say to just absolve her, than stick.

Thankfully, GS found a very solid middle ground.

And hey, it got us that wonderful Sunday evening. That I still would like to believe will come back up one day in Kit's report or as a photo of the year thing.
>>
>>715589
There's always a few anons that get a bit too carried away with things, especially in social situations. But I have faith in this playerbase for the most part.

>>715595
I agree, I also pushed for the lecture, it was the right choice IC and narratively.

Also, I don't really like the feeling of shilling myself here but I feel like if ever there was an audience that might be interested it's probably this one; I'm running the second session of Tankies Quest in about 15 hours (that's 8am AEST or 6pm EST) over here: >>700990 feel free to read up on the first session, it's pretty short and if it seems like it might be up your alley I'd be stoked to get a few more players for tomorrow.
>>
>>715617
I wanted to only give her the stick and maybe the carrot later. MAYBE.

It was one thing to fuck up a fight with her sister, but she humiliated our guests. Made our sponsors question our team, and made us look bad.

ts one thing to be mean but its another to make sure your superior officer is not messing up.
>>
>>715619
>>715617

Tanks and Autists go hand in like Cute Girls and Tanks so I'm not surprised about that whole argument.
>>
>>715619
Yeah, I just have a bad history with reactionary anons usually as a more patient anon. So I tend to be a bit more jaded. Its a flaw that can be just as bad, I'll admit.

Hell it was happening for a bit today in Audit Quest, though that died down, thankfully.

>>715627
Oh yeah, I agree, and end of the day, being more stick than carrot worked. So I can't argue with the results, again, it's just the extremes. Extremes have gotten me into trouble in other quests before.

Enough about that though, back to Ellie and the potential setup for Durocher to pick her. Or every single commander she's faced basically pulling a "I am Spartacus." when it came to voting Elodie in.

Elodie R. Zumwalt, not a glamour pick, but the best blue collar pick you could ever make.

Seriously she needs a nickname given to her for her demeanor/work ethic/ playstyle. Much as I love ZumZum, I think there is a better alternative out there somewhere.
