Ever since the Kingdom of Valgrite received the dire prophecy that a Lord of Darkness armed with the power of the unyielding Edge would bring ruin to the realm, the Valgritean Paladins spent the next hundred years scouring the kingdom for anyone that had the potential Edge to become the next Dark Lord. Every man, woman, and child that even had a remotely Edgy moment in their life were exiled to the furthest parts of northern Valgrite known as The Outer Rim, an untamed and hostile land where only the strong survive preying upon the weak, and where the Edgy rule. You are Wedge Hastings, a young man recently arrested for being a potential Edgelord, and you are currently being escorted by four guards to your new ‘home’ in The Outer Rim.The week-long trek north in the cold autumn morning, would have been more bearable if not for the fact that one of the guards keeps tapping you with the blunt side of his halberd.“Lemme guess why you’re ‘ere. You used shadow magic to teleport behind someone, but got knocked out when you tried to say sumthin’ witty?”“Oh! Oh! I bet there’s a demon sealed in his eye? The Paladins would’ve had a field day with him,” another guard chimed in.“C’mon boy, tell us! Give us a laugh!” > Remain Silent> “I didn’t do anything wrong!”> “I killed plenty of guards like you.”> “My parents were murdered!”> Other

Don’t want you to go unleash your Shadow Demon hiding in your foot, or something.”As you travel further down the road, you start to encroach upon a small valley with farmland to the east, and a dense forest to the west. There lay the small, dusty town where all exiles were left to fend for themselves, the town of Forlorn Hope.Making your way to the gate of the town, the guards send you off with a warning.“Here’s your new home, Edgelord. Feel free to go die in a ditch where you belong, and remember, if you ever come back, the Order of the Hand find a way to break that edge of yours!”The guards turn around and head back up the road to Valgrite. You overhear them talking about how Edgy you were or what you did with that cheese wheel to warrant you being exiled to this God forsaken place. Now, in the ass end of nowhere with nothing but the clothes on your back and a few coins to spare, what do you do?>Get something to eat>Look for a job>Explore the town>Other

>>705137>Look for a jobWhatever your circumstances, you wouldn’t survive long without a steady flow of money. You needed to find a job.Heading further down the streets into Forlorn Hope, past the hooded, masked, and other ridiculous looking exiles, you come across the town square where the job listings board was located. Thankfully, even complete Edgelords needed help doing menial tasks.>Help WANTED: BLACKSMITH ‘Bloody’ Magnus needs new assistant. Apprenticeship, and phobia of sharp objects are not required. >>705310>Go to the InnYou quickly find the BLOODGRINDER INN down the street due to its rather noticeable sign (in all caps), and enter the building. You were not prepared for what was behind the door. The inn was dead silent with dimly lit with tables strewn across the floor, and over fifteen brooding exiles sat alone in every corner of the room. Your eyes cringe and tear up as if you somehow entered an 8th dimensional room due to the sheer amount of corners in this supposedly three dimensional building. You walk over to the counter, and take a seat where the surprisingly unedgy normal looking innkeeper was busy polishing his glasses.“Not every day an exile actually comes take a seat here. I’m George, owner of the BLOODGRINDER INN, how can I help you today?”“The name’s Wedge, I came here about the job you posted.”“Ah, that. Well, if you don’t mind starting now, I can fill you in on some of the finer details of the job because right now, you can start off with helping me polish this silverware.”You find your way behind the counter, and begin polishing the pile of dirty cutlery.> “You don’t seem like the other exiles.”> “What is up with the geometry of this place?”> “Is it always this quiet around here?”

>>705608“Is it always this quiet around here?”“Pretty much, I’m afraid. Most exiles here don’t exactly like talking to other people so they aren’t really much for conversation.” He says as he starts putting his mugs away.“You don’t seem like the other exiles around here.” You say as you finish polishing the silverware.George looks down at the hardwood counter somberly before responding.“Well….. the one thing that most people in Valgrite aren’t told is that The Outer Rim isn’t just for potential Dark Lords. Some people just made enemies with the wrong people, others just want to find a quiet place to be left alone.”He takes the polished silverware from you, puts a hand on your shoulder, and looks you in the eye.“Don’t be afraid of these people, Wedge. Some of them have seen some shit, and I’ve seen enough kids being sent to this damned town for one lifetime.”After what seemed to be a minute of gazing into his tanned, wrinkled face.“I’ll be upstairs checking in on the guests. Man the floor while I’m gone.” He says as he goes up the flight of stairs.Just as his footsteps fade from earshot, the inn door opens, and a young armoured woman strides towards the counter and takes a seat directly in front of you.> "Not many people sit in this spot, I hear."> "Would you like anything to drink?"> "Do you require room and board?"> Other

I haven’t seen one like that in quite a while.”“What are you talking about, miss?” you ask.“I can sense the Edge around people, and the name’s Maria.” She responds. There’s only a one kind of people that would be able to sense a person’s Edge just from sight….Paladins>“What business do you have here?”>“You’re a Paladin!”>“Had enough fun throwing people to this hellhole?”>Other

They quickly clear the entryway before standing at attention. A young man with stark white hair, and wearing jet black clothes that no tongue in common nor eldritch could possibly describe, slowly enters the room. The sheer amount Edge he exuded could be felt by everyone as if razors were being pressed against their skin, while the mere sight of him made some wince away in pain.He pulls out a seat in another corner of the room, seemingly adding more corners to this increasingly 8th dimensionally shaped building, and notices Maria. “Pardon me, milady, but why don’t you hang out with a real man who can give you better company than this wretch?”A slight frown began to form on Maria’s face before a small smile forms.> Stop her> Let her continue> Other

DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!?” He yells, “I am Azrael the Bloodseeker and I will not be mocked by a mere whore!”Azrael pulls out a jet black katana from out of thin air, and holds it in a reverse grip while his men draw their black blades.“Prepare yourself, bitch! I’ll be drinking your blood, and using your bones to decorate my armour!”This is looking pretty bad. First day on the job, and now you have to deal with a fight. You’d best be leaving right now.”Azrael chuckles for a moment before laughing like a madman, obviously amused at the thought of you fighting.“Oooh~, I can just feel your Edge right now! Tell you what, I’ll let you get the first shot out of pity. It’s just so precious that you’d be foolish to stand up to I, Azrael Bloodseeker, the Blood Drinker, the Bloodletter, the 20th Bone Baron,……,etc.”Unfortunately, he seems to have gone into a tirade about the various titles he received over the years. Idiots that just ramble on should either die or learn to shut up.”“…..I am AZRAEL THE ETERNAL RETURNER and you are no match for-“And you merely wedge your knife into his gut, silencing him. The entire room is dead silent. Maria is shocked, while Azrael’s henchmen run out of the inn desperately.“[OCCAM’s RAZOR]. You crouch down, now face to face with the Bloodseeker.“And it looks like you’re just full of shit.”The illustrious Azrael then falls over dead in a pile of his own guts.Maria walks towards you, keeping her distance.“What….what the fuck are you?”>“I’m an Edgelord.”>“A person who hates bullshit.”>“I don’t know.”

If you stayed in The Outer Rim for too long, you’d probably be killed by someone even more Edgier, and end up dying on the ground like him.Maria collects herself before breaking the silence.“I-I think we should leave now. Edgelords may prefer to be loners, but they also tend to come in large groups.”“Not before I give Mr. Wedge his pay, missy.” George reveals himself peeking around the side of the counter. “I would’ve made myself known, but I heard the fighting down here.”George hands a small bag of gold over to you.“You’d best leave while you still can, boy. This, this shanty town will be the death of you.” He warns, “Oh, and please be a good man and drag the body out while you leave. I’ll deal with the blood.”------You and Maria head south, leaving the town of Forlorn Hope, now a bit richer and carrying the newly acquired loot from your kill.In the next few days, whispers are now heard throughout the various back alleys, and taverns of The Outer Rim. Legends of an unusual Edgelord described as a rather ordinary looking man known as Wedge The Cold Steel, and his legendary blade meting justice to those whose words are hollow.
