You immediately left off to look for Graham's studies. You were lucky, because the first room you came into was a small office-looking one with Graham's coat hanging on a chair. This had to be it.

You found several notebooks, about five of them were filled in with drawings and some odd alphabet you couldn't understand, and the others were empty. You also managed to find, crumbled up, what looked to be drafts of letters of some kind written in the odd alphabet, and on the desk, a letter made in regular writing. It was full of cheeky, although loving obscenities, directed towards some woman, which given the content, you assumed to be one of the kitchen ladies.

With the drafts and the actual letter, you believed that you could figure out how Graham's alphabet worked. You took the filled-in notebooks and the letters and you stuffed them into your backpack, and left.

---*---

You then went to recover Sofia. The crowds where running all over the place, it was a full blown riot. Some groups tried to police the others, but they were met with immediate opposition and indignation.

You found Andrew trying to maneuver through the crowds towards the exit, carrying a struggling Sofia over his shoulder.

You didn't bother to talk to him, you took your staff and stabbed him behind the knee, and when he turned around to react, he was met with a metal tube to the skull. Sofia took that opportunity to slide herself off down, give you a quick thanks, and then run off alongside you through the crowds. You managed to move through the sea people quicker than Andrew, largely because of his cumbersome size.

You found Thirteen to be alright, still brawling against others in the field, managing to outmaneuver people with ease, but still not actually winning, just not losing.

You saw that Mary, the "domesticated" Eater had managed to get out of her chains, and had taken a large bite out of one of Chugger's teats, which was now bleeding profusely. Juana was nearby, trying to look for people, until she found you and waved frantically. She was visibly injured as well, as her shoulder was red with bleeding.

Sofia tugged on you. "We can go to the Church, or to the Hospital mafia's den" she said. "I... I'm from the Church. I can get at least you and Juana in. You both look normal."

"What do you mean you're from the Church!?" you barked back.

"I'm not going to explain now!" she replied. "But it's better than staying here, don't you think!!"

You rush towards Mary, and with your staff in your hand, you ran-climbed up her back, and once you were at the level of her shoulders, you stabbed her in the nape with the metal tube, and as she roared out in pain, you pulled it out, and then stabbed her again, causing her yell to go faint as she giant collapsed and fell to the ground. Juana reacted quickly, and had dashed out and gotten blankets to wrap Chugger's wound in, which you both used to quickly and successfully bandage her.

You, Sofia, Chugger and Juana were all grouped up. However, Chugger, due to her size and injuries, was the biggest liability right now. Thirteen continued to brawl and insist to claim the Stadium. There were about only ten people left, however, a couple of them had started to ally up with each other, and it seemed that the final rounds would be decided mostly out of politics, not brute force, and Thirteen was losing heavily.

From what they were yelling, you understood that Thirteen was either going to stay here in the Stadium despite the chaos and continue as a high-ranking officer of some kind, or claim Graham's former position if it was the last thing he did. He wasn't going to let go of what he had fought so much during all of this time to earn.

A large amount of people were leaving through the Stadium's doors. Knowing that Eaters typically don't approach crowds of people, you guessed that it was a good chance to leave, if you were to opt for that choice.

Republic, Kingdom... We're a little early to start thinking of such things. Let's re-build our power base first so we're more than a survivor community. To do THAT though, we need to first win this battle and then the coming war to build the stadium gang back up.

Hell, for all we know, Thirteen might blame us for making everything fall apart and we'll have to leave to start our own thing. We'll see how it goes.

You dashed to the site of the fights and focused on your Adrenal Gland, and then, time seemed to nearly stop, as your body seemed to freeze and go stiff.

Everything seemed to be at a pause.

You had never achieved such an intense effect, but you decided to make the most use out of it, now wasn't the time to doubt it. You pulled yourself a rivaling Eater, and punched him away from Thirteen in slow-motion, and then, turned to another one charging forth. You felt how time was starting to return to normal again. and you kicked him away, just as the sounds around you started to get louder, everything started to quicken, until in one crescendo, it returned to normal.

The man you had punched was sent flying away, crashing into other people, and eventually stopping to form a clump, and the person you kicked off had ricocheted off the ground and had flown into the plastic chairs of the stadium, breaking several of them as he didn't stop until he reached the wall on the other side.

You tried to walk to Thirteen, but you felt your leg and arm muscles be entirely cramped up, so you stumbled, hopped a few steps, then stood next to him, then looked around.

The people here weren't fighting anymore, and instead, they were staring, spooked, at what you had just pulled off.

Nobody was talking, just silently trying to understand what had just happened.

Thirteen took a bit to recover his cool, but he was the first to break the silence. He cleared his throat "The Stadium will now be lead BY ME!" he declared. "Antonio and Margret, get your people to fucking calm down and stand here in the center field with the rest of us. Whoever defects, defects, whoever wants to keep on being a jackass will have to deal with all three of us together, got it?"

"This fuckery ends now" he concluded.

"What about me?" another guy called out. "Yeah, and me? I had a group too!"

"Dude, they're either dead or they've fucking left" Thirteen pointed out. "We don't have enough people to have as many factions as we had before, join me, Antonio or Margret, and stick to the plan, got it?"

They reluctantly nodded, and got to work.

(cont)

---*---

Only a fifth of the Stadium people remained after everything settled down. The rest had been eaten, killed or have left. Half of those people were injured, and a few were in a serious state, which Antonio's faction - a merge of pseudo-medical staff (mostly people who happened to know first aid, or had been trained to know it) and the kitchen crew, attended. Antonio himself was a chipper, easy-going pharmacist, who easy wove through the masses of people, communicating with the people he was in charge of with reinvigorating enthusiasm and hope. Margret was a large, serious-looking retired police chief with a commanding voice, who managed to herd the mish-mash of ruffians and the rest of the general populace, effectively being in charge of the largest group.

Thirteen, now the de facto leader, arranged for his group to be in charge of general administration and management. Sorting out food, supplies, human resources, etc.

The Stadium looked fairly deserted, and it had been made a total mess. Several chairs where missing, blood was everywhere, and some people were looking around for missing belongings, while several others were clumping all of the broken chairs into a pile, cleaning up the gore or trying to repair things back into place.

---*---

Night arrived, and after a long day, you all had a late supper. It was a warm stew made from a mishmash of what was left - a lot of the food had been stolen. A couple people were eating outside as usual, but others where eating at their makeshift homes, ready to tuck themselves in bed and try to forget about this whole mess. You had a fairly quick meal with Thirteen, and chatted about the fight and your adventures until now, until you returned to your home.

You had been assigned to stay at Graham's old room, partially because you had his documents, partially because you killed him, partially because Thirteen wanted to reward your hard work with one of the better rooms of the Stadium.

Sofia, as you sorted out the documents, yawned loudly. You looked back, and found her to be only in underwear, laid in on the mattress, and lifted her head up to look at you, needily. What quickly caught your mind was that she actually had a bra of her size - something like that had to be custom-made or something, or she had to be lucky enough to have found something of the sort in the city, something you considered to be near impossible.

"So, I guess you're going to sleep here with me, huh." you mentioned neutrally, as you turned back to the papers and made some final sorting. You fully understood she was making an advance on you, but you still had things to do.

"...Uh-huh⁓" she nodded, trying to put on a cute voice.

"I've got to bath." you stated. "I'm still covered in blood. I'll be back though."

"Ah... Okay." she replied, a bit sad.

---*---

You went to the field and then into the player's lockers and bathrooms, and started to do work on scrubbing yourself and cleaning out the blood and dirt out of your skin.

Then, you heard footsteps, and then, Juana's voice.

"Blake?" she called out.

"Yeah?" you replied.

"I'm... Coming in, if it's alright!" she said. "I-I figured you might need some help!"

You chuckled to yourself softly. Juana too? You did want to get some good sleep, and having a nice time with either of them wasn't something urgent, but you figured that you could enjoy the company of at least one of them tonight.

Yeah, I love the idea of people... Especially girls, getting sexier and stronger (although not usually through such grizzly methods), but there's a point where the T&A gets to the point its inhibiting limb movement. That's got to be too much by anyone's standards, much less my slightly more modest ones... Even the pic we were given >>679536 is pushing the absolute upper limits.

God, Graham was sick in the head.

Poor girl though... Both for the changes forced on her; her background; and for the injuries she's suffered...

Well maybe we can make things better... And if we can't, then at least we can make her FEEL better. Yes, she's a burden and Thirteen sure as hell won't like it, but let's be real here; Thirteen is a very direct kind of person. Soon as we show we've got a grander idea of strategy and politics and leave battle and hunting tactics to him, he's going to grow to rely on us.

I'm not saying we should become some evil vizier, manipulating people from behind the throne, but even a loyal adviser kind of has to be smarter than the guy he's advising. I'd never say Thirteen or anyone else is a 'pawn'... More like the knight, bishop, rook or queen and even in that, they're our friends first.

"Sure, no problem" you replied in a cheery tone, as you nonchalantly scrubbed your ribs, until Juana arrived, finding you nude.

You turned around, finding her staring at you red-cheeked, her eyes darting around at every detail.

"Come one, get undressed" you chuckled. "Help me out."

You looked at your groin with your fists on your hips. "I've got a small problem" you joked.

She nodded frantically.

After a generous quickie with Juana and cleaning yourself up, you returned to your room with just the towel wrapped around your hips and your clothing over your forearm, feeling like a champ.

As you entered through the door, you found Sofia with her hand in her panties, to then immediately curl to a side.

"I-I... I d-d-!" she started to stammer, looking away.

"Sofia, no worries. I got you with this one." you stated with a cheeky smile, as you massaged one of your hands with the other. "Don't forget I'm an amazing handyman."

She immediately turned to you with an angry pout while trying to suppress her chuckling as she bounced slightly in the bed.

The next morning you woke up with some sore scratch-marks on your back and Sofia's face nuzzled into your elbow, sleeping softly. Gently, you slid out, leaving her to continue resting as you yawned and got up to stretch and check out the Stadium, while reminiscing how you laid the two girls.

Thirteen was at the middle of the field, yelling at people "Good Job" or "Go do that" and the sort, as people continued to work on repairing the Stadium.

"You missed breakfast!" he yelled at you, then pointed to a lady, and then back at you. She promptly handed over a loaf of stale garlic bread, which you started to eat after thanking her. It was hard, and it took you effort to crunch it in your mouth to then chew.

Thirteen then took a quick jog towards you, and then started to speak in a regular tone.

"Slept well, Blake?" he asked.

"Yeah, in a way." you admitted.

"Ha, I'm glad" he chuckled, and patted you on the shoulder. "Also, Blake, I'm going to need you to scout and fetch supplies as soon as possible. We've got much less people, nearly no weapons, and some of the doors have been fucked - they can't lock. If some other group decides to come and raid us now, we're screwed."

"But we don't have anything." you replied, as you swallowed down some bread. "Why would they bother?"

"Yes we do." he replied, and pinched your forearm. "Flesh."

"Margret knows some good places to get stuff." he then added. "You can go with her and some reinforcements in an hour."

"Gotcha." you replied.

Thirteen left you to finish your breakfast, and you had some time to arrange things before leaving.

Not too sure about that. Keep in mind that even in the real world, martial artists can tense their muscles and resist baseball bats to the stomach and stuff like that.

We might be able to get a degree of resilience to compliment our speed and strength... Especially as Graham mentioned willpower being an aspect in directing one's changes.

Overall though, we should not forget where our power ultimately comes from. It may just be my own urge to find a kind of greater meaning in everything, but I think we should only eat when we have to, or when we've put some thought into it. Eating humans just because we're hungry and they're meat is going to lead us down a dark path.

Meanwhile, if we turn it into a sort of spiritual thing, then we can limit our more monstrous side from gaining too much of a hold, as well as use the ritual and enforced mindset it puts us in to direct our willpower and overall gain more effect from a single hunt, than we would from two, five, or even ten! You may not believe it has any result, looking at it academically, but it should work kind of in the same way placebos do; your own mind effecting the results.

And besides anything, when hunting an animal, pain and stress sour and toughen the meat. The same should probably hold true with people as well. Making it quick, clean and spiritual will result in a better taste that the others will probably appreciate.

We need to test her mental faculties anyway... If it turns out she's useless at high-level stuff, she can help the manual work, but until we know for sure, we could well be wasting an asset in sub-optimal tasking.

Meeting the other power-players is important, true, but we need to check on Chelsea... This whole thing started for her sake anyway. Injuries aside, she might be carrying some guilt for her part in Graham's death and the resulting chaos.

There is a difference between taking a hit from a human and taking a hit from a superhuman

Yes, muscles and strenght makes you faster and quicker. Up to a point, then the square cube law takes hold. Beyond that point we start getting diminishing returns.
A MMA fighter who is a mountain of muscles is much more agile than a normal person, but much slower than Usain Bolt who has incredible leg muscles but avoids being overmuscled to lose speed.
Becoming "too swole" is a very real possibility in this setting, remember that.
But becoming the Juggernaut (Bitch!) is also acceptable. Adrenalyne also gives you pain resistance so we wouldn't be throwing our current bonuses away.

Yeah, but still 'glass' cannon might be exaggerating our potential fragility a little (though not really our current damage resistance). We'll still not be able to take a hit like a true 'tank' type would, but we won't go down with a smack either, I should say.
>>
>>681972
We are a glass cannon compared to the beefier guys. We could easily take a top of the line non-eater human in a fist fight but still be down in few hits from an eater.

So, i guess you are suggesting a good "all-around"-er?
We should look around for a martial artist that is willing to teach us. We would greatly benefit from that
>>

>>Task her with trying to decipher Graham's Alphabet while you're away.

>>Go check on Chugger's state.
>>
How is everyone proportioned, QM?
Does thirteen have like 30 inch arms or something?
>>
>>682020
Maybe... I know we're currently fragile as hell, but I think we could improve our resistance to above 'glass cannon' levels without necessarily losing out on our advantages. We just need to be careful and disciplined about it.

But yeah, an instructor would be great. Frankly, I don't think we're currently even at the top of humanity's capacity, without our adrenaline boost. When you factor in our unique edge, we're definitely super-human, flash-stepping all over the place and knocking fools across the damn stadium, but without it, we're just 'pretty damn good'.

What I'm saying is, there's plenty of room for improvement. I'm down with being a high-damage, high-speed, low-soak character, but we should probably avoid minmaxing to a fault. Unlike in certain video games, this quest is likely to throw situations at us where we'll have to handle shit on our own, even when it's not our forte, so a well-rounded character with a few strengths is better than a character with one super-competency and few skills elsewhere.

Shit, that would be even more risky.
To fight hand to hand better we can use our hands, elbows, feet and kees.
All of those are important articulations and ossifying them would spell doom for us. Except maybe the feet.
Is there someone we trust that could use his abilities?

>>682074
No, sure. We are like a level 2 charcter who got the drop on a higher level one.
Like lvl2 fighter killing a lvl4 wizard, or something.

I am sure a career fighter, not even a world class one, could take one of our punches and dish it back. Our only saving grace is that most of these people were average joes willing to compromise their morals to survive. Taking a more formal fighing style should put us in the top percentile of individuals, even with our current power level.

Maybe if we practice with some sort of weapon to compliment our strength, like a punch dagger or something.
A short spear would be effective and thematic, considering how we are "regressing" to a more feral state and trying to earn civilization once again.

We already have a metal staff that we seem decently proficient with at the moment. Working with what we have might be the best idea
>>
>>682235
We've already got our staff. Add some blade-ness to the end of that and we've got a slicey-stick of halberding +3

I like the idea of a staff too. A spear is a hunter's tool, but a staff is something for the one who uses his mind as much as his muscles. Besides, it's the Grandfather Of All Weapons according to Chinese martial arts. Plus a staff gives us leverage, etc. Plenty of advantages and symbolism there.

But all the same, at the moment it's bla bla bla, plans for the future. Yeah we need to learn, but before that, we need to secure the area and stabalise our supplies. THEN we can look at recruitment, instilling a philosophy into this little tribe and improving ourselves, which in turn will shape the future of humanity.

Baby steps people. Dreaming big's good, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

You task Sofia with trying to figure out Graham's ciphers who flicks your ass before you leave, and then, you went off to check with Chugger.

She was sitting at her usual spot, but she wasn't eating. Instead, she was holding a spot at her hip, with a smile. When you arrived, she wove her hands at you with glee and then she showed her cheek and pointed at it.

"Kiss." she said.

"What." you replied.

"M-My hus...boyfriend has to give me a kiss!" she insisted.

"I'm not your boyfriend." you chuckled, and then rose a finger. "And I'd do it on the lips, not your cheeks."

"Where did you get that idea?" you asked.

"W-we did it... last night..:" she said, and shyly held a fist to her mouth. "D-Don't you remember?"

You stared at her in silence.

"No, we didn't." you said. And even if you had, you would've used protection.

"T-Then how do you explain that I'm pregnant!" she exclaimed. She beckoned for you hand, and then took it and positioned it on her hip, and then, pushed it inwards a bit.

"Wait, the baby will move." she said with enthusiastic expectation. "Just... Wait a bit... Ah! There, you noticed it, didn't you!"

You did feel a minuscule movement. Something hard had twitched, somehow, inside of her. However, it wasn't centered, it was on one side.

"Since when have you felt this?" you asked, ghosted.

"This morning. I... I'm so happy." she said, as she gently rubbed the odd spot. "Im... I'm going to have a... baby..."

You stopped for a moment to think if Graham had done anything to her, but you had seen him on top of her and you had seen her after he was removed. There was no trace of him having knocked her up, nor would there have been any time for it to happen. Nobody has had sex with her - so how was this happening?

"How's your arm going?" you then asked.

"Antonio says that it will go away on its own." she mentioned. "He says that some of my muscle fibers in my arm have turned into bone, but that the extra bone will like go weak and then just go away from not using them, and then my arm will heal and be as normal again."

You nodded.

"Does Antonio know about your pregnancy?" you asked.

"Yeah." she replied. "But he thinks its just a random deformation from eating so much. But.. But I know it's not so! It's... It's my baby!"

The "baby"

You immediately left to look for Antonio. He was busy tending the wounded, and after you insisted, he finally complied to come.

---*---

"How's the arm going, Chelsea?" he asked in his usual chipper tone. "Feeling a bit better?"

She nodded.

"Alright then. I'm going to check on that small issue of yours, alright?" he then continued. Chelsea nodded again, and rose her hip.

"It's a baby." she clarified.

"Aaah, we'll see about that." Antonio replied, skeptic.

He dug his fingers in, and gently massaged around. Sometimes he dug deeper, putting her into momentary pain, but he quickly defused the situation by saying that "I'm qualified for this".

After that, he gestured for you to come with him, and he spoke with you in private.

"Its a tooth, some hair, possibly more." he said. "It's not a child in there, it's not a fetus. Just a mish-mash of random tissues, in her ovary. That's why it's off-center."

"So it's not a baby, then?" you asked nervously.

"It's not a baby." he said. "It's a tumor. A teratoma, most likely. It's... Like a tumor made of random things. Harmless, really. It's not like most cancerous tumors you hear of."

"Teeth and hair... Growing from a tumor?"

"Yeah." he replied "Teratomas are pretty bizarre. Really interesting too. I'm guessing that it appeared from her overdeveloped ovaries or something. It's not uncommon for stuff like this to happen. You've seen the giants outside, yeah?"

"Yeah, but she's telling me that it happened last night. I think a growth like that would've happened after eating, not? She wasn't eaten anything, from what I know."

Antonio went silent.

"Maybe... In the same way that you use your Adrenal gland to produce all of that Adrenaline and such,

Chugger is making her ovaries grow these tumors. Maybe its linked to some psychological pregnancy or something. She's gone through some serious stuff." he added.

"Should we take it out? Can you operate her?" you asked.

"I'm just a chemist, man. Pharmacy stuff. I don't know how to do surgeries or anything." he replied. "Plus, it's totally benign. We can just leave it, honestly. Nothing is going to happen."

"Yeah, but if she's triggering the growth of the teratoma on her own, it might get really serious, don't you think?" you said.

He nodded. "That's why I'm telling her it's not a baby. Just a tumor." he replied. "But she won't believe me. What can I do, Blake? Seriously?"

You sighed heavily.

"Alright, thank you Antonio. Thank you for checking it out." you told him.

"No problem." the chemist said. "Just, take care."

You were already plenty late to join Margret's group, so you figured you might as well finish up things here.

We need to do this gently. Convince her that Graham made her sick with his special diet. BUT once she gets better, we'll be her boyfriend AND she can have a baby for real, if that's what she wants.

Whether or not we're telling the truth... Will have to be seen. But if we tell her what she wants to hear, it'll be easier for now... And we'll deal with the fallout when the time comes.

God I know that problem... Resistance Quest fell apart mostly because I struggled to think of what happened next... And then quests were banned from /tg/ so the message kind of lost its impact...

Only thing I can say is don't be afraid to time skip and let us deal with little, social problems, as well as big issues for the group. So far, you are doing a FANTASTIC job. I've seldom seen a quest master balance player agency with external pressure this well.

Yes, the world is fucked and our friends are hurt and things are bed, but never once have I felt that we have no option but to just suck it up and deal. Every situation has a way SOMEWHERE for us to make it better... Actually, it's almost a bad thing. If we had more to lose, I'd say we weren't running into enough road-blocks, but given how a single defeat could spell disaster for us, it's actually a great way to keep me (and hopefully others) invested.

After Antontio left, you stayed with Chugger, who was gently kneading the spot on her hip.

"It's not a baby, Chelsea." you told her. "It's a Teratoma."

She shook her head frantically.

"Chelsea, you're having memory problems. Or something." you insisted. "We haven't had sex. You haven't had sex with anyone."

"Y-yes we have!" she stammered.

"Girl, if we have had sex, if you have had it with me, there's no fucking way you would've forgotten it." you chuckled. "No, but in all seriousness, it never happened. We've never slept together. Ask the people around. They've seen where we've been."

She then looked aside, gloomy.

"Then... I'm not pregnant?" she asked.

"You're not pregnant." you confirmed.

---*---

You left off to help Antonio with the wounded. There was a hall in the Stadium with rows of yoga mats where people were laying down, resting, and people going up and down, tending the several wounded's needs. You volunteered to join in, and were soon assigned to changing some easy bandages from different people.

You noticed about Antonio that while he was able to put himself into a very chipper and charismatic state to talk with most people, and the people he talked to loving him, he didn't seem invested in anyone beyond that. He didn't talk because he liked to talk, he talked because he had to. You noticed that especially when he took a few breaks. We would go take a smoke - alone. He wouldn't join up with anyone else even when asked to, and just give them an excuse instead.

(Cont)
>>
---*---

Thirteen arrived to check on you and ask why you hadn't left with Margret, and you explained that you had that emergency with Chugger. Thirteen didn't seem too pleased, but he was more annoyed with the circumstance than being actually disappointed at you. "Thank your telling me." he concluded, before leaving. "Let me know if I can help with anything."

---*---

It was lunchtime, and you had a bowlful of rice with human meatballs scavenged from the corpses of the people who have died in the riot and sweet corn. You saw that Juana and Sofia were talking in Spanish - apparently Juana was a Mexican and Sofia was Argentinian. You didn't understand much Spanish aside from some basics, but you could deduce that they were getting along well and sharing the harsh experiences they have endured with some jokes here and there. Thirteen interrupted them to ask them to speak in English, and they promptly complied, fluently resuming their conversation and gossiping.

Things seemed to be actually fine for once. Relatively speaking. There was a sense of stability, despite people agonizing in the medic hall and the repair people paranoid about getting a giant crashing in anytime soon. You had some time to take a breather, and do your own thing.

A watchtower. We're vulnerable, yes, but we become less so if we have some way to see attacks coming. Rigging up a simple nest in one of the billboards or floodlight stands should be simple enough, right?

Failing that, barricades that channel intruders into an easy kill-zone, perhaps?

Still maybe not the BEST use of our time, but I feel like we should at least be seen being productive.

You decide to go help Chelsea with her abilities. While she was reluctant at first, you managed to convince her to actually take it seriously, because her health was on the line if it someone triggered on her own again, because of how random teratomas could be and how her current abilities could boost them.

Semi-receptive, you managed to give her the theoretical basics for her to understand and then practice on her own.

---*---

"You slept with Sofia?!" Juana barked at you after you gave Chelsea her lesson.

You looked side to side.

And then at her.

"Well, yeah." you admitted. "What about it?"

She huffed out in indignation as she looked around and then put her hands on her hips to glare at you.

"Weren't you like... Going to go after me or something?!" she asked.

You shrugged. "Well, yeah. But Sofia too. And I don't think we're really at any kind of stage or anything, it was just some relief for the both of us."

"J-just relief? You... you don't see me as something more?" she asked.

"Friend-wise you're pretty much the closest thing I have." you admitted. "Romantically? Things could work out, yeah, but, again. We haven't even gone on a date or anything."

"I-Is it because I'm not..." she started off, and gestured a massive bosom with her hands "Like her?! Y-you know that I'm not going to eat if that's the kind of girl you're looking for!"

You showed your palm "That isn't the issue, Juana."

Juana is far superior to Sofia.
Apologise to her and say we'd be interested in going on a date with her at some point soon, if it's possible. Say we're not looking for superficial stuff but things like the moral upstanding and kindness she shows.

>Tell her that you're actually romantically interested in her, but you're interested in Sofia too. You want both.
Make it clear though that Sofia it's more... The attraction there is mostly on a physical level. With her, it's a different kind of attraction. It's unlikely our feelings towards Sofia will ever really be 'love' and even if she likes us more, it's probably still mostly just 'attraction'. With Juana, it's less physical; we connect with her more closely. Something like that could very easily turn into love.

But it's not a binary thing. People have always tried to define it. "You're in love!" "You're not in love!" "You're lusting for them!" "You're not attracted!"
It's actually a lot more complicated than that and she knows it. It can't be easily quantified or qualified, but if we had to... We like Juana in a different way to how we like Sofia... And it's probably to a greater degree too. That doesn't mean though that we want to treat her the same way we treat Sofia.

If it's Juana, I'd say... We trust her more than anyone else here.
>>

"Sorry, Juana." you told her "I was honestly stressed after the coup, and figured we could use some relief. I misunderstood what you seemed to imply back there. I kinda lead things to where I shouldn't."

She nodded.

"I'm glad to hear that." she admitted.

"I... hope you do it right next time." she said. "I don't want you to think I'm some... slut or anything."

"Aah, oho. No worries, Juana. Really." you chuckled. "You're one of the greatest people I know."

She blushed and turned around.

"Well, see you later then." she then said stoically, and started to march off. "You know where I am if you need anything."

"I actually don't." you admitted.

She turned around and looked at you surprised. Then she pointed to a little cardboard hut further off in the Stadium.

"Over there." she said. "That's my house."

"Gotcha." you said. "I'll see if I can arrange a date sometime."

Juana nodded and then blushed harder while lowering her head and stiffly marched off to her home, giving you no reply.

---*---

You returned to your room, and started to tidy around. You still had Graham's clothing in here, and you figured you could arrange things to keep it as well as make space for your and Sofia's things as well.

"Ah, Hello...." Sofia greeted, looking at you from the desk, cheerful.

"I saw you had a, well. Rough time with Juana." she mentioned.

"Yeah." you mentioned, wondering how she actually knew that. "But you seem cool with it."

"Well, yeah." she admitted. "Like, it's what some people too. It's normal. Juana's just, well. Old-fashioned I guess."

You sighed. "Well, yeah. She's very nice th-"

"I love you." Sofia then stated.

You paused and looked at her. Her face was flush red, but she adamantly remained looking at you, but with both her hands clamped behind her knees.

"Okay." you replied, not entirely sure how to respond to that.

"K-Kiss me." she then pleaded, and started to approach you, and then put her hands on your chest to then look up and stare at you lovingly.

You had to stop to think for a moment, but Sofia made it difficult. While her breasts where a bit unsettling, her natural aroma had a certain magnetic pull which Juana's didn't have, her skin was soft like a baby's bottom, taut, brimming with health and youth.

Juana was just normal. She wasn't nearly as carnally appealing. She was missing an arm, and while she hadn't told you her age, by knowing her well, could tell she had to be at least a few years older than you. But she was immensely noble, and someone who you could trust so well.

You were split on how to handle this. Given Sofia's current face and body language, you knew that she was going to try to lead you both into having sex again.

>Go for it. If Juana has any issues, you can deal with it later.

Something much the same as earlier. For starters... Ask her WHY she loves us. The smell has me suspicious... Like a pheromone attack. Maybe I'm just paranoid. Probably am, but still...

Then talk to her about the idea of NOT being our one and only.

This is also a damn good point too. We're not really in the right position to deal with all this shit with relationships, while we're ALSO trying to make sure the group doesn't die. We're already stretched thin, as proven by us missing what Thirteen asked of us earlier.

Why do we want to commit to someone else though? Isn't harem end the best end?

Seriously, there's nothing stopping us loving or at least sharing mutual attraction with multiple people, except the feelings of others who may love/desire us and we have no idea how Juana or Chelsea or Sofia or anyone feels about that yet, because we've not breached the subject.
>>
>>690924
It's fairly clear that
A)Juana is best girl
and B)She won't share
Sofia's just some random tittymonster and Chelsea's a kid.
>>
>>690937
She also implied she'd never eat flesh and stray from the way humans were intended to live but she's here in the stadium with us.
Another point, We've got the best living space right now and if we join together, the girls can live there with our character.

Fucking hell, we're living in the Apocalypse, one of the few times its ok to fucking haram it up. We're all likely to die soon afterall.
>>
>>690937
>Chelsea's a kid
That's some grade-A disinformation right there. There has been zero confirmation that she's a child, and the QM has specifically mentioned that her mental faculties are slipping. She's not a kid, just naive and slow.
>>
>>690967
Actually, on reflection, you're right. I just filled in the blanks and that become canon in my head, my bad. She's just mentally a child/slow.

Either way, I don't think fucking her is a great idea.
>>690966
And she hasn't eaten flesh yet, and doubt she will.
>>
>>690967
Yeah and we need to fix that. I agree that taking advantage of, or starting a relationship with someone with the mental capacity of a 7-year-old is just WRONG, but if she likes us when she's back to the mind of a 16-year-old or so? Different story.

>>690937
Juana is best girl, I'll admit that. But do we KNOW she won't share? Have we really laid down what it would entail? I don't think we have. It's not as taboo as you think, honestly.

And if she doesn't eat flesh... Her choice, but it IS going to result in her being weak... She CAN choose to be weak, but... It's hard to justify. I really, REALLY hope she can be useful, otherwise, we may just have to make her our dependent.

Either way, we need to lay the ground work with Sofia now (we already have with Chelsea and Juana) and then let it rest for a while. Can't build on wet cement, after all.
>>
>>690985
> It's hard to justify.
How about the fact it's eating the flesh of a what was once a human being?
And she seems fairly conservative so far, if she's not okay with casual sex she's unlikely to be cool with polygamy, especially since she has no interest in Sofia.
>>
If she doesn't eat then it doesn't matter cause shes eventually gonna get killed and eaten by someone else.
Also she seems to be very good friends with sophia since they both speak spanish and love conversing that way and they seemed chummy enough to tell each other they got laid.
>>
>>690995
>it's eating the flesh of a what was once a human being
Very good point... This is part of why I said we need to partly ritualise it and restrain ourselves, while using the ritual of it to re-enforce the personal belief and willpower that helps direct the change.

More results, with less atrocity. Like I said though, if she chooses to remain purestrain human, we might have to effectively make her our dependent or something, just to keep her safe.

And I think I can persuade her into polygamy or something like it... I have an argument I've used before. Worth a shot, right?
>>
>>691015
Personally I'd prefer no harem, but it'll be what it will be.
>>
Lets just make sure no other groups make a power play. How many people are in the compound?

You peck her on the forehead.

"I'd love to Sofia, but not now." you told her. "I've still got an awful lot to solve first."

She lowered her head, then nodded.

"That's a 'yes', then?" she asked in a soft voice.

"It's a 'there's an Apocalypse outside and I still need to sort things ou-'"

She pecked you on the chin.

"Alright so -" you said

She pecked you again.

"Ok, alright, so - could you stop that?" you chuckled.

"No." she teased back, and did it again.

You sighed, half-amused half-concerned. Then she did it again, on your neck.

"Just don't do it in public, OK?" you noted.

She did it again.

"OK." she replied in a cheery tone.

---*---

"Hey, Blake." Antonio asked, as you left the room. "I've been wondering if you could talk to Thirteen about something. He listens to you."

"Ah. What is it?"

"It's about how human meat is distributed." he said. "I've got people who have kidney failure, or their thyroids out of whack - if they eat some of that, perhaps they can train with the enhancement, and fix it. So, I'd like to start using Eating as a treatment. A cure."

Your eyes widened.

"Yeah, I know. It's still an experimental idea, but hey, if it works... It could be better treatment that any medicine we can loot." he continued.

"I know that Eating is controversial. I had a, uh... Discussion with Juana - she's close to you, right? Yeah, didn't go too well. But still, Blake, I believe you're different - I really think this can do good for people! What do you think?"

"Yeah. I think it can actually go well." you said. "I'll talk it out with him."

Antonio patted your shoulder and smiled. "Thank you! Man, I really think this can be something, you know?"

---*---

You decided to approach Thirteen during dinner. As you were being served food, you noticed how both Juana and Sofia weren't being served any of the flesh filet that you were given today, as a few other people, and a couple even asked to not be given any human meat. They opted to only get the salad and rice.

You sat with the redhead, who called off eating with some young lady after you mentioned wanting to talk to him. After some smallchat about how things seemed to have calmed down, you brought up the subject of Eating for medical purposes.

"Yeah, we can do that." he said. "Just redistribution, yeah? Simple enough."

He didn't seem to mind it at all.

"And, on the subject of Eating, what are our hunting policies right now?" you asked.

"Well, Graham used to have a flat out 'anyone who isn't a member is up for killing' policy." Thirteen noted. "I want to change that to simply 'Giants'. It puts us behind in the Eating arms race, yeah, but if we play our cards and resources right, I believe that we can go just fine. Eat smarter, not Eat more, you know"

He chuckled at his wordplay, and then chowed down the filet. Thirteen was quite the intellectual when he wanted to.

"Seem pretty alright." you mentioned. "What about people who attack us, though? Should they be up for eating as well?"

"I want to say yes." he said. "However, I've got to think about the people - and Juana's been talking with them. Look, there she is right now."

He looked at her, and you followed, finding the Mexican to be talking to some of the Kitchen members.

"Yeah. She doesn't want people to eat." he said. "Or at least, not if they don't 'have' to."

"She seemed to be advocating pretty hard for no-Eating. Or at least something like that." he said. "Graham's old policy was to have everyone to eat - if there was an attack or an outbreak, everyone could pitch in to help, with some elites eating a bit more. However Juana doesn't seem to like that. She really doesn't like the idea of Eating, but she's very... forgiving with the people who have already Eaten."

"She's too idealistic." Thirteen said. "I don't like it. However, with you and your fucking insane fighting skills, I'm a bit less worried. Like. Christ, dude. That fucking punch and kick back then, just... Ffffsshwoosh! Insane."

"What do you think about it all?" he then asked you. "Your opinion is very important to me. It's an important subject, for both fighting power and morale."

Guys, like I said, we're-enforce the effect if we turn this into something spiritual and ritualistic. At the same time, it instills a taboo in gang that is harder to break than just, "Don't do the thing."

Eating our own fallen limits itself and also keeps the gang close. It keeps us strong and provides closure.

A hunt I've already explained. It build a bond between hunter and prey. Don't hunt en mass though; single kills only. Manflesh will be a SUPPLEMENT to our diet, not a staple. This will keep us from mutating too far. Further, by making it spiritual and ritualistic, we again enforce the useful direction of the mutation.

This by necessity cuts scavenging from our diet. Not only does that lack an aspect that builds a story in the mind of the hunter and the gang, but it also provides more and lower-quality food, which risks diluting the effect and polluting our directed mutations.
>>
>>692102
I don't think we have the charisma or political clout to create a cult of meat.
>>
>>692102
>don't have the charisma
Pfffff. That's up to the dice and (hopefully) what we write.

Besides, people look for patterns and answers. We have since the earliest days of intelligence and belief. We look for a sense of balance and justice in the world... It's cynical to say, but we can provide that. For all we know, we might even be closer to the truth than we realise.

Mankind's changed. Our views and philosophies have to change with it. We need to aspire to something higher, or we'll just continue to sink lower and lower.

>Political clout
The strong rule around here right now. We've got the ear of the Boss and we're strong enough to wreck house; everyone knows that. We've got as much political clout right now as the Vice-President... Or at least someone on the staff.

Thirteen nodded. "Gotcha. I appreciate you telling me this."

---*---

Before you finished the meal, Margret approached you both, but talked to Thirteen.

"Alyona's dead " she said. "News just arrived from the scouts."

"W-What? How?" Thirteen stammered. "Eater attack?"

"Yes." she said. "There's a new Giant which is roaming the Hospital area, who calls himself Melchior. With a little girl riding him."

"It attacked their building. Killed several" she added. "It's not like any other Eater. It's controlled by the girl."

"A domesticated Eater like Mary, then?" Thirteen asked. "I thought Graham was the only person who knew how to do that. Plus, Blake has got his notes - and they're coded and everything. Who else could know how to pull it off?"

"Maybe they've learned it on their own." Margret added. "But Melchior is very dangerous. Two to three times as large as Mary. And it's stupid like any other Eater of that size, but he blindly obeys the girl who rides him. And she's damn good. It's the best of both worlds."

"Thirteen." she then stated. "Melchior is the first Eater of that size seen to use *tools*. It used one of those big light posts to fish the people out of the building."

Thirteen's eyes opened greatly as he stared into the Stadium grass. The trick until now to avoid Eaters was to get into narrow places. But then, he seemed to ease off into relief.

"But we're protected. We've got more space here in the Stadium." he pointed out.

"Yes, but what if Melchior learns how to *climb*, Thirteen." she stated, with a sense of dread. "Thirteen, Melchior this is a real threat here."

He put a fist to his mouth and looked aside.

"We still have the heavy duty weapons, right? Mary's old stuff?" he asked.

"Yes, the heaviest ones, luckily." Margret pointed out. "The lighter ones have been taken."

"Yeah, those are the ones we're going to need for Melchior." he said. "We need to have them at the ready at all times, just in case he decides to do come to our place."

"I'll get it arranged." Margret concluded.

Ceirtainly, the main thing about adrenalyne, specially adrenalyne rushes (which we seem to have weaponized), is that they override the ability of the body to say "Okay, this is too much, if we use more force something will break" and that's how we end with people rolling cars over to save their kids and ending up with broken bones in the process. Some way to enhance regeneration is a must if our shtick is pushing ourselves beyond the limit.

I was thinking the marrow might help with that, what with the upped blood production while carrying more oxygen and allowing us to get chemicals FASTER and the like (maybe we need some heart for that?) I was thinking "something something up the absorption rate."
Then again I'm still awful curious what attempting to weaponize bone marrow or overlooked tissues like arteries or veins would do.`
>>
>>693871
For max efficiency, we need stem cells. Totipotent is ideal and not as hard to get as you might think. You can extract a sample from a fetus and make it into an unspecializing culture that remains in stem cell form.
We could easily get EVERYONE pumped on stem cells. Only need to sacrifice ONE fetus for renewable stem cells.
>>
>>694102
Anon... You're slipping a little close to Graham there. You need to step back and think about what you're saying.
>>
>>694113
Isn't Chelsea's teratoma made of stem cells?
Chances are if she made one, she has lots in "fetus" stage.
Alternatively we can raid a fertility center and nab an embryo, i mean, it's not like any of those would reach term and we would be avoiding having to sacrifice babies. Babies that actually have a chance, that is.

Not every slope has to be slippery, anon
>>
>>694113
Graham wanted to eat babies by the truckload.
I want to make a self sustaining culture (ie some cells growing in a dang petri dish) that has NO sentients harmed in the production, and which will drastically improve everyone's health, not just our own.
There is a VAST difference. The stem cell method doesn't even hurt a real person, just a bunch of undifferentiated cells in the very, VERY early stages of fetal development. There isn't even a brain when you would collect the sample.
>>
>>694179
The potential of that becoming an actual human is enough for some to call you satan.

Captcha: avenue avenida

Speaking of that, where is this quest taking place? There is a big number of people from latin countries while, at the same time, plenty of anglo sounding names. Is this the south of USA or someplace in Europe?
>>
>>694206
Well, I say that a single nonsentient potential person is a much better sacrifice than god knows how many definitely sapient definitely living people. Killing people is just distasteful when there's plenty of alternatives available.
And if we can use stem cells to reduce the chance of death for the people we care about, whether its from illness or fighting the murderhobo eaters, then I'd fuckin do it.
>>
>>694161
Teratomas are explicitly not stem cells.
Teratomas are characterized by differentiating into teeth, hair, eyes, that sort of thing.
They aren't really cancer or anything so there's that at least.

I just think fucking with our marrow and cardiovascular system would be interesting and possibly complimentary to our "hyper focus/gotta go fast" button while increasing physical stamina to allow for more prolonged use.

Plus or minus any directly weaponisable applications they might have.
>>
>>694226
Well, marrow and shit is still an option. Adult stem cells exist in marrow, blood, blood vessels, the liver, and the skin. And in smaller amounts in muscle attached to the skeleton.
Those kinds have a harder time specializing into something different than where they came from, but it should still be good for the most part. Just not as stupidly OP as totipotent stem cells.
>>
Oh, god. Does this mean that if we consume enough totipotent stem cells we can go full Kerrigan? We seem to be awfully capable of controlling bodily functons we shouldn't be able to

Could teratomas be harvested for organ tissue? No suggesting making Chelsea into a teratoma factory, just being curious
>>
>>694241
Not really. Teratomas don't really have "set patterns" of shit they do.
They're kinda freaky and anomalous by definition.
To even have a shot at it Blake would need a team of specialists, multiple "harvest groups" and at least CDC level lab tech give or take and years of time.
If we're going full irl here.

I'd personally feel way more comfortable finding a dentist and a dude what's good at ceramics for replacement teeth.

If you're after hair, a weave store oughta do.

And Blake (and the group of anons) doesn't seem to want to go full Important Joe for literally no reason besides cheaper weave if you ignore the time and effort.

tl;dr: teratomas are a dead end and worthless.
Chelsea might be able to weaponized or control them and start busting out bio-organic made to order simple weaponry...maybe? Idk, I'm not the QM.

Point is, going off what I know from studies irl, teratomas are worthless in basically all capacities.
I just don't think the QM would have mentioned them in as much detail and had a wait and see option if it didn't do something.

But that something very well could have just been "Chugger goes full Heart She Holler because Blake asked her to then dies a messy death"
So I'd rather leave them alone.

We can just make knives from scrap metal or some bones like normal people.

Damn. Don't mind me, I'll be wearing this hat for the rest of the night.
Immortan Joe.

Sorry for rambling but nah, teratoma structures could be fine for use, but they're just usually benign.

Their structures could be perfectly serviceable, or they can look fine but be super flimsy under stress.
There's a number of reasons they're a bad choice for tissue harvesting.

I have a concern eating at me anons..
Did we ever confirm why Chelsea thought it was us?
If it was dark and all, was it a dream or did she get verbal confirmation?
>>
>>694360
QM said she was having some memory issues
That or she thought she was pregnant and was sure Graham didn't manage to do anything.
Us being the ones that put that bun in her oven was the best case she could come up with.

The biggest question is how are we handling the eating of raw human meat so well? Hell, at some point we ate a chunck of fricking giant in a single bite.
Has this sudden cannibalism plague also made humans particularly eatable and chewable? Biting someone and actually tearing a piece of meat away should be hard enough on a human being, but on a giant eater? We have one strong jaw, eh?
>>
>>694406
I'd guess slightly increased jaw strength and our first target was pretty flabby.
That, or we're running on 80s anime physiology where everyone is made of plasticeine unless it's convenient.

Will you ever "finish" 50% human, or did you get burnt out?
>>
>>694557
I already posted how it was going to end, so yes, its "finished".
>>
Sooo... I take it there's nothing else going on in this thread..?

I got away for a week, and now quest's dead.
Welp. Might as well post what I wrote before checking last posts timestamp.

I think we got a blob of fat.

About how to compliment our adrenaline rush, remember that after a punch and a kick
>>679047
>You tried to walk to Thirteen, but you felt your leg and arm muscles be entirely cramped up, so you stumbled, hopped a few steps, then stood next to him, then looked around.
If we don't deal with that, we're limited to 2 punch then flee, or 3 victims and we can't run.
So, eat magnesium for cramps? Muscle?
And don't forget tendons.
>>
>>712797
Nah.
Bone marrow and lungs to maintain longer rushes.
Vitamin supplements like magnesium and potassium for cramps but if it's lactic acid build up I dunno what to do about it.
Outside of enhancing our body's ability to clean itself somehow.

When you gonna get back, VQM?

I'm hungry...
