The taste of blood begins to register in small droplets in your mouth as your teeth grind together. The cubes oscillate erratically at first, all at different speeds. A minute of this passes before at last the movements of the cubes begin to resemble the beginnings of the pattern. Another minute and the cubes bob up and down in a smooth and consistent wave-like pattern. You let out a long sigh and hear the chime once again.
