"I used to have a girlfriend.. But she broke up with me at the first sign of trouble. And well, that's how I ended up on the street in the first place. I was staying with her.."
>"Wow, that's really cold, I'm so sorry that happened. Er, do you have any siblings?"
"A sister who's a year younger. She barely knows I exist because my parents think I'm a terrible influence on her."
>Lailah seems sad to hear it sinking her head down.
"A-also um.. I can, see down your shirt.."
>She blushes a little adjusting herself before turning to you.
>"I-i had no idea. If you hadn't said anything I probably wouldn't have noticed."
>You don't really know what to say at this point.
>"And, I realize now.. Now that you mention how trusting I am.. I had a card with over 12,000 dollars on it. And you didn't spend it all.. And you told me about my cleavage."
>Shes smiling.
"Yeah, what about it?"
>"You're a nice guy after all aren't you?"
"Pfft, what? N-nah."
>You turn away.
>She sort of lunges at you and ruffles your hair.
"H-hey!"
>"Haha! I've figured out your secret!"
>Shes got a really cute smile on right now.
>You can't help but crack a grin.
"Y-yeah, just.. Keep it between us alright?"
>"Honestly, I don't know why your girlfriend would leave you. You seem like a great guy."
"Oh come on, now you're going too far."
>She pouts.
>"I'm serious! Look you might have been a bum, but I can see that you're really trying, and I can see how much you want things to get better. And despite your terrible situation, so far you've been completely honest and trustworthy."
"Well.. I guess.."
>She's quiet for a moment.
>"How would you, like to meet some of my friends?"
"Uh, sure?"
>"Great, I think.. You're all going to get along just fine."

>Well, it's another night on the couch here..
>It's a very nice couch though.
>It's white and it has pink pillows.
>This blanket feels like a quilt, and it's quite soft.
>That girl..
>She's way too naive for her own good.
>Such a.. Stupid idiot.
>As you lay your head on the pillow you pick up her scent.
>Sweet strawberry perfume.
>Your mind flashes with her image in it.
>You imagine laying in her lap.
>Rested upon her thighs.
>Stroking gingerly along your scalp with a tender look in her eyes.
>You shake your head..
>There's no way someone like that would fall for you..
>You're just.. A bum..
>Just some pathetic pet project of hers..
>But then.. Why would she be so nice to you?
>Clearly there must be some kind of feelings there right?
>No.. Fuck it.
>You're not messing up a free place to stay by acting like a horny idiot.
>Someone as perfect as her..
>Deserves someone better than you anyway..

>Weeks go by without reply on any potential jobs.
>You have a cheap disposable phone gifted to you by Lailah.
>A part of you is surprised she didn't go out and buy you the latest iphone.
>But it's not like you need it right now anyway.
>Tonight you're supposed to go out with Lailahs friends.
>If they're anything like her you'll probably do alright.
>"Hey Travis, I'm back, ready to go out? I can't wait for you to meet everyone."
"Yeah."
-
>Its night.
>Streetlights pass by in the passengers side of the Cadillac.
>You're dressed modestly.
>Not that you had a whole lot of clothing anyway, so you pretty much just wore the best of what you had.
>A white dress shirt and some black jeans.
>"Rachel is still pretty depressed about her breakup, work has been really hard on her."
"Uh huh."
>"I think one of her pets died too."
"Oh."
>She looks at you.
>"Is everything alright with you?"
"Nah, I'm fine, why?"
>"It's just, you've been so quiet since we got in the car.."
"I-it's nothing, look, I'm just.."
>"Just?"
"It's been a while since I've been out ok?"
>"It'll be fine, don't worry!"
>How can you not be worried?
>You're going out to meet her friends.
>How are they going to react when they find out she's been hanging out with some loser bum?
>This whole thing is a social minefield.
>Just going out makes you depressed at how socially pathetic you are compared to them.
>No job, no money.
>A walking charity case.
>Maybe Lailah can just do you the favor of letting you roll out of the passengers seat onto the freeway or something and just end it with some level of dignity intact..
>"We're here!"
>No.. Of course not.

>As you step out under a yellow streetlamp on the sidewalk, Lailah gets a phone call.
>"Yes?"
>"Aww Rachel couldn't make it? Dang."
>"Oh, well I guess we'll see you in there!"
"So what's up?
>"Rachel couldn't make it, so it'll just be us and Cassandra. It's her turn to do karaoke, so we should see her up at the mic."
"Wonderful."
>"Come on, let's go!"

>You get inside.
>It's kinda noisy and there are obnoxious bright multicolored lights.
>Brushing past the crowd a little you get a glimpse of the gal at the mic.
>Shes doing a slow smokey version of "Smells like teen spirit."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkxSU__Bi3w
>You look at her.
>Black hair, gorgeous figure.
>She looks like an actress or something.
"I-is that your friend?"
>You say to Lailah.
>"Yeah! Isn't she great?"
"She's something alright."
>You find yourself slowly entranced by her.
>Her voice and appearance ensnaring you.
>She finishes and there's claps from the audience.
>She walks through.
>Spotting Lailah through the crowd she waves wading through the crowd.
>"Lailah! Glad you could make it out!"
>"Cassandra! You were great up there!"
>"Oh, that was nothing. So is this your friend?"
>"Yes, this is Travis!"
>You shake her hand.

>You're sitting at the bar.
>Lailah is in the bathroom.
>"I hear you're homeless, is that true?"
"Oh, so she mentioned it?"
>"Oh yes. You must be quite the charmer to have seduced your way off the streets."
>You ball your fists.
"I didn't ask for this."
>"Woah, easy there cowboy. How about I buy you another round?"
"Not in the mood to drink."
>"Fair enough, is she taking care of you though? Food, shelter, all of that?"
"Yeah."
>She grins playfully.
>"All of that freedom and you haven't even taken advantage of it once? You're a real golden boy aren't you?"
>You sigh.
"Look, are you trying to make me mad?"
>"Not at all, just trying to figure out why my best friend suddenly decided to pick up a stranger off the street."
"If you figure it out, let me know."
>"Hmm.. You are kind of cute. Maybe I should start looking for boys on the street."
>Her eyes linger on yours.
>Her hand seems to find it's way on your leg.
>"No money, no resources.. Completely dependent on you for everything.."
"It's not like-"
>She puts her finger on your mouth.
>"Shhh.. I find that really hot.. I would love to be in control of a boy like that.. I might be looking for someone who can do what I tell them without asking questions."
"Why would I-"
>"I'll make it worth your while."
"I'm listening."
>"Are you and her fucking each other right now?"
"Pfft, no."
>"I need to clean out some space in my house, but I think I've got a room that would be just right for you."
"Bullshit."
>"It's true. Now that I think about it, I'm completely sold on the idea. A one of a kind relationship where the guy is virtually dependent on you for everything."
"Yeah well, I don't plan to keep it that way, I've already submitted some applications."
>"Oh? I'd be perfectly happy to let you stay unemployed.."
"Alright, well what's the catch?"
>"Well, the catch is.."
>She gets really close to your ear.
>"You have to do whatever I say when it comes to sex."
"So you want a submissive little boyslut that you can come home to?"
>"Ooh, boyslut, I like that term. But yes, that and maybe some household chores. I'd say if you could do those things I'd let you stay for as long as you'd like."

What should I tell Cassandra?
>"Forget it, I'm no ones boyslut."

"I'll think about it."
>Her face pangs with anger for just a moment.
>She then composes herself.
>"Fine. My offer stands, for now. Think it over.."
>Lailah comes back.
>"Oohh, sorry I took so long, I'm not sure I'm feeling well. I might have to call it a night early."
>"Aww, you poor thing."
"You should take it easy Lailah."
>"Heh, I'm fine."

>It's the next morning.
>"Achoo!"
"Come on, sit back down."
>"I.. I can't rest, I'm.. Not tired."
"You've already called in sick for work with a fever of 103. Jesus how did you even contract something like that?"

"You need to rest. Please Lailah."
>"I don't want to just sit around all day."
"You'll never get better if you just push yourself."
>"Well.."
>"Just relax, I'll make you some food, in fact, go up to your room right now, I'll bring it to you."
"Ok."
--

>You bring up a plate with a grilled cheese sandwich cut in half, a bowl of tomato soup, and some sprite in a cup.
>You hand them to her.
>"Thanks."
"Yeah, no problem."
>"You.. Didn't have to take care of me like this."
"What are friends for right?"
>She blushes looking away and down into her soup.
>"Friends.."
>Suddenly Lailahs phone rings.
>"Travis, I can't reach.."
>You hand her the phone.
>"Hello?"
>"Yes who is this?"
>"Yes there is a Travis here."
>"It's for you."
>Your heart thumps suddenly.
>Could it be Cassandra from the other night suddenly switching to bitchy-stalker mode?
>You grab the phone.
"H-hello?"
>"Travis?"
"Who is this?"
>"It's me, Dolly, how have you been?"
>What the fuck?
"Sis how did you get this number, what are you-"
>"I went downtown and talked to some homeless people. They said they saw you get into a silver Cadillac, hired a private detective and he got me the details."
"Geez.."
>"Bro what are you doing? I've been so worried about you!"
"You don't need to worry, I'm fine."
>"You've been homeless for months and somehow you're fine? I still can't believe Mom and Dad kept this from me the whole time. I'm so freaking mad right now."
"Calm down, listen, things are complicated, but I'm really ok. I'm-"
>"Where are you right now? Tell me where you're located, I'm picking you up and I'm getting you a hot meal."
"Dolly, sis, I appreciate it, but I'm really ok. I'm staying with this nice girl, and she's taking care of me."
>"Are you sure? Are you absolutely positive you don't need my help? I can let you stay at my place if you have nowhere else to go."
"Pfft, you know Mom and Dad would be furious if they found out."
>"I don't care! Mom and Dad are jerks for keeping your living conditions a secret from me! As far as I'm concerned right now, I don't even have a Mom and Dad!"
"Doll.. Come on."
>"I know. I know.. Listen, will you just.. Promise to call me if you need me."
"Yeah."
>"Promise?"
"I promise."

"Well, maybe.."
>Lailah lets out a harsh phlegmy cough.
>"Are you sure you wouldn't rather be with her right now?"

What should I say?
>"You took care of me, and now I'll take care of you. I'm not leaving your side until you get better."

>Several hours have passed.
>Lailah shifts in her bed as she slowly opens her eyes.
"Morning, feeling better?"
>"T-travis.. You're still here?"
>She seems surprised, but then she smiles.
>She looks really happy.
>"I'm glad you're still here. What have you been doing this whole time?"
"Messing with this phone, and reading some of your books."
>"Oh.. That's nice. I think I'm feeling a little better but-"

"Take it easy. I'll go heat up some more tomato soup."
>"Travis?"
"Huh?"
>"Thank you, so much."

"Y-yeah. No problem."

>You got a call back on that job at 7-11.
>It's just part time, but it's a start.
>Lailah returns home.
>She takes in a big breath.
>"Mmm, something smells good!"
"Just some homemade lasagna and garlic bread."
>She sighs blissfully.
>"Travis, that's so sweet of you. This is the third night I've come home and you've made dinner."
"Well, I just figure you're at work and well.."
>"Speaking of that, how is your job search?"
>You and her sit down to eat.
"Great, I start tomorrow."
>"Thats awesome, congratulations! Where at?"
"7-11. Its only part time but-"
>"Nono that's wonderful, I'm so happy for you!"
>She bites into her lasagna.
>"Mmm, so good. You know, it's been a long time since I've come home to a home cooked meal.. Sometimes I feel like I just eat whatever because I never have time to cook."
"It's the least I can do."
>"I really appreciate it. Also how are things with that sister of yours?"
"I'm thinking of meeting up with her after work tomorrow."
>"Do you know what time you're off?"
"I'm pretty sure I work from 10 to 5."

"Hey.."
>"Oh gosh I missed you so much!"
>She's beaming looking at you.
>"I can't believe you've already got a job!"
"Oh, yeah, heh."
>"We should totes go out to eat. I'm like really hungry."
"Alright."
--

>Later at the local Dennys.
>"So what's with this girl huh? Why did she pull you off the street like that?"
"I.. I really don't know. I'm starting to think maybe she's just a really nice person."
>"Mmm.. Maybe.. But I guess if she's looking after you then it's good. Still, I'd really like to meet her sometime!"
"Uh, sure I guess."
>"Just to.. Make sure she's right for you is all."
"Huh?"
>"Well, I mean, you're staying together, so you're seeing each other right?"
"Oh, no, we're not dating."
>She raises her eyebrow.
>"Hmm, that is interesting. So you're single right now then?"
"Yeah? Humph, I suppose you have someone then?"
>"N-no.. I mean, there's a couple of guys I have my eyes on.. But they're all really dumb and immature. Not like you."
>You raise an eyebrow.
"Not like me?"
>Her face turns beet red.
>"I-i didn't mean it like that!"
"Not falling for me are you?"
>Her eyes shift around.
>"Come on bro.. Don't make weird jokes like that in public."
"Heh. Sorry."
>"I-it's ok. You really are a cool person though. It's so nice that you've found someone that can look after you.. It must be so hard being rejected by Mom and Dad like that.."
>You're quiet for a moment.
"It.. It's just part of life I guess. It doesn't bother me as much as it used to."
>She grabs your hand from across the table.
>"You shouldn't have to live with things like that.."
>She gives your hand a little squeeze.
>"If, you ever need any help at all.. I'm right here in the city.. You know where I live now right?"
"Yeah, I remember."
>"We're family, and I don't want you to be all alone."
>Something about it suddenly makes you emotional enough to shed a tear.
>Dolly sees it and starts tearing up too.
>She walks around the table and gives you a hug.
>You hug for a few moments.
>"Are you busy tonight? Or do you have to get back? I can drive you wherever you want to go."
"Why?"
>"I was just thinking, maybe if you're free you could spend the night at my place, we could hang out like we used to and maybe watch some movies or something."
"You're not busy with schoolwork?"

"Being a mooch doesn't suit me."
>"I understand. Though it would be nice to really have a man who depends on you."
"So what is with that anyway? A weird kink of yours or.."
>"A little.. I just don't like the idea of a man that I like who can get away. Leaving me for another woman. I like being dominant in a sense. But.. I guess I also like being useful."
"Useful?"
>"I like doing nice things for people. But I also don't want my efforts to go to waste, if you get what I'm saying."
"I feel ya. I understand that."
>"It might be none of my business, but have you and Lailah done the bedsheet boogie yet?"
"Why does everyone always ask? Look we're just friends ok?"

>Her chest sliding up against yours.
"Mmm, you sure don't waste time."
>"You only live once right?"
>You shrug.
>She wraps her arms around you.
>"I'm gonna make you feel so good you won't be able to say no."
"I'm counting on it."
>She chuckles before burying her mouth into yours.
>Mouthing and kissing into you with no hesitation.
>You slide your hands through her long black hair.
>You feel her grind herself against you.
>She bites your lip a bit before pulling away.
>"Am I making a convincing offer yet?"
"Offer for what? To stay here?"
>"What else? I'm all for fun.. But it tends to blend together after so many flings."
"You really get cheated on that much huh? Someone as attractive as you?"
>"Well. I guess not the hottest bitch in the city. And maybe some guys just think I'm too easy so they lose interest. It's hard to pin anything down.. I just want a man who can appreciate me and maybe stick around."
>Maybe she meant it more casually, but it came off as really sad to you.
"I'm appreciating it quite a bit."

Damn OP you didn't have to cut the sister scene that much just for cassandra but Its all good. we can hang with her more later to.

Thanks for writing this quest again by the way.

I like the Cassandra character (she's basically muh fetish.), but, not sure I like the prospect MC not having a job or any self reliance at all.

Also am I the only one who hears depech mode's Master and Servents playing when I read the above op post?

thanks for continuing
i really like this story

as for the story i suppose we should look after lilah, she did help us in the first place and maybe tell cass that she can look for her own homeless guy

and keep contact with the sister; find out about our home situation
whats happened/changed at our parents´place; and dolls relation to them

thoughts?

I get that that, im hoping we can get with her without the dependency thing .

"Look, I don't want to make promises I can't keep, and I just don't want to hurt you."
>"I'm not hung up on it. Look if you want to leave be my guest."
"I don't want this to be the last time I see you."
>She seems angry.
"Please, don't be mad. You really seem like a nice girl."
>"I'm just sick of games. I want to really be in control of something for once."
"I understand. Look, I uh.. Lailah is really sick right now. I'm kind of worried about her being on her own."
>She sighs.
>"Of course."
>You suddenly realize what you've said.
"I-i er.."
>"You'd better go take care of her then."
>Fuck.
-----

>It's an awkward quiet ride in Cassandras car back to Lailahs.
>"You really are something. For a homeless guy I mean."
>You can't bring yourself to say anything back.
>"Lailah has been my best friend for a few years now. The nicest nurse and the friendliest co-worker. When I met her actually, I kinda hated her because I thought she was being fake. But, after a while I realized she wasn't like everyone else. She wasn't faking that smile. She really was a little saint. I admired her in a way."
"She is pretty nice."
>"Rescuing a homeless person is really something only she would be crazy enough, and nice enough to do you know?"
"Yeah."
>"Heh, but I could never be like her."
"Yeah me neither really."
>"Well.. We're here."
"Will you please.. Just give me some time?"
>"I can't promise I'll wait around forever you know. I might not be the hottest, but that doesn't mean I don't get offers."
>Shes smiling.
"Well. See ya later."
>"Take care of Lailah. And just remember, if you mess with her, I know where you live."
"Right."
>>
>>638948
>You get inside.
>Lailah is on the couch facing the t.v.
>"Is that you Travis? I thought you were out with your sister?"
>She turns to you.
"Uh.. I decided not to spend the night."
>"Really?"
>You walk around to her.
>Lailahs leg is in a splint.
"What's that?"
>"Oh.. It's no big deal, I just was trying to cook some dinner and I slipped in the kitchen. Somehow it sprained my ankle."
"Lailah, why didn't you call me or something as soon as it happened?"
>"I didn't want to mess up your reunion with your sister."
>You should have expected her not to be able to do things properly on her own while she's still sick..
>Now the issue has compounded itself, and you feel even worse.
"How bad is it?"
>"The swelling has gone down a little I think.. But it really hurts a lot.. I couldn't even make it up the stairs to get into bed.. So I've just been down here."
"Need me to carry you up?"
>"I-if you can."
>You gingerly lift her off the couch.
>She winces in pain.
"Sorry, am I hurting?"
>"No, it's fine, just keep going."
>You make your way toward the stairs.
>"Is this how you feel when you're here all by yourself?"
"What?"
>"Lonely I mean."
"You were lonely?"
>"I.. I dunno. I've always been a little lonely, but.. I've usually been busy with work so I rarely notice. But it's times like these, where it really feels like I'm all by myself."
>You open the door to her bedroom.
>She flicks on the light.
>You set her on the bed.
>"Thanks."
"I.. I've felt lonely too. I think I'm more or less numb to it now."
>"That's sad."
"Doesn't bother me much anymore."
>"If.. You're lonely too.."
"Huh?"
>"Nothing.. Thanks for carrying me up Travis.. I'm so clumsy sometimes.."
"Are you.. Even going to be able to work tomorrow?"
>"I don't think so, unless it heals up overnight."
"Crap.. I have work tomorrow."
>"I'm sure it'll be at least a little better by morning. I might just stay downstairs all day and watch t.v."
"Well.. Good luck, if you need anything, just let me know."
>"I will, goodnight Travis."
"Night Lailah."
>>
>>638952
>You're at work.
>The door suddenly beeps.
>Cassandra walks through the door.
>She spots you immediately and winks.
>She pours herself a blue Slurpee.
>She then grabs some nachoes.
>"Can you ring these up for me Mr. Handsome cashier man?"
"Y-yeah."
>"I'm on my lunchbreak. You got a break coming up soon?"
"Uh, I could take my ten and get Raj to cover the register."
>"How is it?"
"Well, it's work. I wish my phone actually had games on it."
>You flash your unimpressive pre-paid phone.
>"Eew. How long have you had that?
"I think a few weeks. Old faithful has been pretty reliable at least for making phone calls."
>"Thats like, the basic function you expect of a phone."
"I got it for free so I can't complain."
>She sighs.
>"Want me to buy you a new one?"
"Er.. Well, nah, I mean I'm fine."
>"It's not a problem if you really want it. I can get you an iphone."
"I've got a job, I could pay for it myself."
>She raises an eyebrow sipping her slurpee.
>"You're going to blow your entire first few paychecks on an iphone then?"
"Er.. Well.."
>"You should be trying to save up for a place of your own Mr. Man."
"I know that."
>"Of course my offer still stands if you need a place to stay. You won't even need to worry about the rent then."
"Well.. I'll put it this way, I'm not saying no am I?"
>She laughs.
>"But you aren't saying yes either."
"Well.. I mean.. My last girlfriend was letting me stay with her, but she kicked me out after a while."
>"I'm not your last girlfriend am I? I think that's a really bitchy thing to do to someone who has nowhere else to go."
"Yeah."
>She sighs.
>"Tell you what. In addition to letting you stay for free, I'll promise you right now. If we break up, I'll buy you a month in a motel, for free. You won't be homeless at least, and it'll give you a chance to get back on your feet."
"Can't I just stand on my own two feet right now? I mean, I like the idea of you helping me out.. But I want to be able to provide for myself too."
>She sighs.
>"I can't believe how stubborn you're being."
"I'm.. Sorry."
>"Don't start apologizing, it's not attractive. Anyhow. I should get back, but.. Text me whenever you get the chance."
"Why?
>"Just to bullshit about stuff. You'll at least do that for me won't you?"
"Yeah."
>"I wouldn't do this for any other guy. Heh. I feel crazy even doing it for you.. I guess Lailahs kindness must be rubbing off on me somehow."

>You're on the bus going back to Lailahs house.
(The following dialogue is a texting conversation.)
"Hey, how's it going?"
>You wait for a few moments.
>"Finally off work?"
"Yeah, on the bus home, WBU?"
>"Boss wants me to work late, I hate it."
"That sucks."
>Theres a few minutes that go by before another text.
>"How was Lailah?"
"She sprained her ankle trying to cook for herself while I was away."
>"Aww! Wow now I feel bad.. I hope I didn't keep you away from her too much while you were trying to take care of her."
"It's not your fault."
>"Well, sorry about getting upset. That's really cool of you that you care so much about her."
"Yeah."
>"You'd do the same for me if I were sick or injured right?"
"Of course."
>She texts back a heart.
>"Do they give out awards for nicest homeless man of the year?"
"I dunno. You think I'm a good contender for it?"
>"I think you'd win for sure."
"Haha, I'm not that nice."
>"Lailah must be rubbing off on you too then huh?"
"I guess."
>"Boss is coming around the corner. I'll shoot you a text later if you're still awake."
"Ok."
>Finally the bus arrives near Lailahs house.

>You're back at Lailahs house.
"Hey I'm home."
>"Travis! Welcome back."
>An enthusiastic greeting.
>You walk over to her.
"How's your foot?"
>She frowns.
>"It's awful. Yesterday I was carrying the big cooking pot of spaghetti when I slipped. I must have gotten water on the floor, and that's what made me trip.."
"Boling hot spaghetti?"
>"Oh yeah, I tried not to scald myself so I sort of reacted weirdly. Luckily I didn't burn myself that badly, but I did twist my ankle.. I don't mean to get too graphic, but I barely made it to the restroom today because it hurt so much to walk."
"Aww.. I'm sorry to hear that."
>You sit next to her.
"Do you need anything?"
>"Well.. I haven't been able to take a shower since yesterday.."
"Yeah?"
>"Would you.. Mind helping me into the tub? I don't mind if you see me naked at this point. I just want to get clean and relax."
>Your heart thumps as you try to compose yourself.
"No, I wouldn't do that to you. I'll wear a blindfold so you can have your privacy."
>"Travis.. That's so chivalrous of you."
>She seems touched by your words.
"D-don't get the wrong idea! I'm just doing it because I respect you is all."
>She smiles.
>She leans herself over slumping onto you.
>Her arms wrap around you.
"Lailah.."
>You hold her like this for a few minutes.
>She seems to really like the attention.
>She feels so warm too.
>She's holding you, but something about her eyes.
>It's like shes sort of wistfully staring off into nothing.
>She seems happy, but somehow a little sad too.
"So.. Cassandra seems pretty into me."
>"Have you two been meeting up then?"
"Yeah, I sort of forgot to mention it."
>"Thats nice.. I knew the two of you might hit it off. Off the record, I suppose I can tell you, shes been hurt a lot."
"Hurt?"
>"She was engaged to her last real boyfriend Mike, but he cheated on her. She came over that night and cried in my lap for hours about it."
"Wow.. That's awful."
>"She hasn't had any luck recently either as far as I've heard. My other friend Rachel is in the same boat. It's a mess."
"That's sad."
>She grips your hand.
>"If.. You decide to get serious with her.. Can you promise you won't break her heart? I don't want to see her get hurt again."
"Yeah."

"Let's just some crappy reality t.v, I'm in the mood for a laugh."

"I miss how things used to be between us. Always hanging out, helping with your homework, going swimming, playing video games.. It was hard to make friends because we always moved around so much, but things were fun because of you."
>"I feel the same."

>You stay up late watching movies and playing video games.
>You eventually fall asleep together on the couch.

I'd just come home from my class, I guess they didn't hear me walk in.. They were talking about driving by and seeing you still out there, how you still hadn't pulled yourself up after being kicked out of your girlfriends place."
>You can't manage to say anything.
>"I ran into the living room and got so mad when I realized they'd been hiding what you were doing all this time.. I packed my things and I moved out on my own a few days later.."

"I was fine."

>No. You were horribly depressed. Numb. Nothing seemed to matter. Everything felt like a dead end street with no way out.

"Actually believe it or not, I sat around Barnes and Nobles and read books."
>"You mean this one we're sitting in?"
"Yeah. Actually most places don't like homeless people hanging around their establishments. But I've never been hassled for being here."
>"That's good."

>"Was she homeless too?"
"Er, no, not as far as I know. Actually, I'm not really at liberty to say."
>"I see."
"But she's nice too. Just not really in the same way Lailah is."
>"What do you mean?"
"Don't get me wrong, Cassandra is super nice despite her sort of front. But she expects things out of it. I don't fault her for that. I'm kinda the same way sometimes. But Lailah is completely selfless. She never asks for anything in return. At least as far as I've seen."
>Dolly is quiet for a moment.
"Something wrong?"
>"I get it now.. Why you're into them.. You're more fortunate than I thought. You have two wonderful friends.. Actually, when I first learned about your situation, I already missed you.. My friends seemed to be more distant.. I wanted to feel close to someone again.."
"Ok."
>"I thought.. Since you were out here.. You must be lonely too. I empathized with you. Thought maybe.. Would could ease each others loneliness together. Face the world as one, just the two of us."
"We can't ever be more than just brother and sister Dolly."
>"I know that! But.. Can't we just be friends? We've known each other for so long.. We've been through the same kind of things, at least most of the time."
"We're already friends Dolly. You're very close to me. And I appreciate how much you care about me and my situation. But I'm worried that maybe you're looking for more than friendship. Unless I'm wrong.. Am I?"
>Her eyes dart away.
>She can't look at you.
"I knew it."
>Silence for a few moments.
>"Its.. Weird isn't it?"
>You don't know what to say.

"Just don't love me in that way.. Look we can still be close and stuff. Just don't go crazy with it.."

>"You think it's gross don't you?"

"Doesn't the fact that we grew up together mean anything to you? That we came from the same parents?"
>Shes looking up at the white overcast sky.
>"There must be something wrong with me I guess. I just don't have the same reservations you do. Don't take this the wrong way, but if you would have pinned me down that night, and tried to have your way with me.. I wouldn't have resisted."
"Yuck. Come on Sis, really?"
>"I know.. It's just a perverted fantasy of mine.."

"Wow, it's really fantastic."
>"You should try the mashed potatoes too. They're homemade, and not from a box."

"Yeah, things are going pretty good."
>"I mean, have you, become intimate with each other?"

>You're outside of Lailahs room.
>It's open just a crack.
>You peer inside.
"Lailah?"
>You can hear faint sobbing.
>You open the door.
"What's wrong?"
>The sobbing seems to intensify.
>You come close to her sitting down on her bed and placing your hand on her shoulder.
"Whats wrong Lailah?"
>She sniffles trying to compose herself and wipe away the tears.
>"I.. I'm so sorry I.."
"Sorry for what?"
>"Travis.. I have something to admit to you.. And I hope you can forgive me."
>You brace yourself.
>"I.. Really like you.. In a way thats more than just a friend."
"Huh?"
>More tears.
"I.. I don't get it."
>"Since the first week you were here.. I've just been slowly falling more in love with you.. Battling with myself trying to resist doing anything sexual."
"Uh.."
>"My only goal when I brought you here, was just to clean you up and give you a place to stay.. I never expected to have romantic feelings.."
>You're at a loss here.
>"I.. Wanted to resist so much.. Because I thought it would be a terrible thing, if I were to get into a relationship with you. And make you feel guilty about having a place to stay, so much that you would feel indebted to have that kind of relationship with me."
"But-"
>"I know.. Right now you must think I'm a terrible person.. This whole time you probably thought I was only doing it out of the kindness of my heart.. But I.. I'm so selfish.. I'm spoiled, and selfish.. I don't deserve this big house.. Or this lifestyle.. Knowing where you come from, it only makes me feel worse, knowing how good I have things.. I only wanted to make things better for you.."

How should I respond?
>>
>>648664
I'm worried that if our relationship changed we well lose what we have now. But you are the most important person in my world and I enjoy being with you. If we can have something more then I think it's worth a try. *tentative smooch*

You did more than just give me food and shelter, you brought me out of something I might not have survived. I'm alive because of you.
Kiss her.

QM, she doesn't really have glasses like in the first post right?
>>
>>648664
Give her a hug, tell her we had no idea. And she's not a terrible person. I guess you guys have made your decision. Too bad, was rootin for cass.
>>
>>649497
So was I but how do you turn that down?
I guess we shouldn't have dragged our feet with Cassandras invitation.

"I had no idea."
>You hug Lailah.
>"W-what?"
"I'm not mad, and you're not a terrible person."
>"I.. Don't want to put pressure on you. Or make you feel guilty about-"
"You're not. You did more than just give me food and shelter, you brought me out of something I might not have survived. I'm alive because of you."
>"Y-you can't mean that.. Were you really planning to kill yourself that day?"
"If it wasn't that day, it might have been another. But I was in a dark place. My only concern now is that if our relationship changed we well lose what we have now. But you are the most important person in my world and I enjoy being with you. If we can have something more then I think it's worth a try."
>"I'm.. The most important person?"
"You gave me something so special that even if we weren't going to be in a relationship I could never repay you. You gave me hope. And showed me that in a world full of cruelty, there is still kindness."
>She sniffles and cries as your lips meet hers.
>You feel the hot tear roll from her cheek to your chin.
>Your tongue pressing against hers.
>You embrace each other.
>Making out passionately.
>For a while, you just sit there tightly in each others arms.
>Neither of you wanting to let go, raw passion consuming you two.
>"D-did you really mean all of that?"
"Every word.. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you. For everything you've given me."
>"The world was kind to me, and cruel to you. How is it fair that I was given everything and you got nothing. Rejected by almost everyone you loved. I could never imagine a life like that.."
>You laugh.
"Well, thanks for inviting me into your world. I like it much better here."
>Her fingers slip between yours.
>"You can stay here. I'll introduce you, to my family, and we'll go on trips, and have all kinds of adventures.."
>You kiss her again.
"I'll introduce you to my sister.. I guess we can all look forward to the holidays together now."
>"I would like that."
"Hey, Lailah?"
>"Y-yeah?"
"Can I sleep in this bed with you? Its a lot softer and more comfortable than the couch."
>She laughs a little.
>"Of course. I always thought about offering to let you sleep with me. But then I thought it might be weird."
"Is it weird now?"
>"No, it feels just right."

>You explained things to Cassandra that you decided to be with Lailah.
>She was surprisingly understanding, and just asked that you take good care of her.
>You would never think about doing anything unscrupulous to an angel like Lailah anyway.
>Halloween is coming up.
>Lailah was thinking about dressing up like a witch, but you recommended that she'd make a better angel than witch.
>She seemed to like that better too.
>You'll probably be something generic like a skeleton or a werewolf.
>Sis seems happy, although you can tell she would have rather been the one to end up with you.
>You've continued to make meals for Lailah whenever you're not working and at home.
>Lailah never feels lonely anymore when she's not at work.
>And you remember finally, what it's like to really open up, and love someone with all your heart.
>Lailah gave you a second chance, everything you could have hoped for.
>It seems almost unfair that only you would get this chance.
>But you are grateful.
>You've thought about going back to school.
>You're not sure what classes you'll take but..
>You know you'll figure something out.
>Lailah seems happy that you just have this little part time job.
>And you're happy just to be here.
>With more hope and determination than ever.
>And all because a Pink haired savior came into your life.

Will you continue, OP?
I thoroughly enjoyed this quest, and I'm hoping for more.

This, it's one of the better ones on the board right now, shame for it to be over so soon

There will be an epilogue when we have been together for years and we a bemoaning the pink haired shrew if a ball and chain tying us down. Sit nosed shit flingers sucking what soul remains in you after a long day spent working for the man to pay for shoes and school bills. Sneaking a bottle of whiskey out in the shed dreaming of the freedom of the streets and sweet, sweet sister fucking.
The American dream is a tragedy.

look the story was interesting, but it read too much like a fanfic

it was just long text dumps and the occasional "what do?"

I'd like to read some more of your stuff, but please do try to make it a bit more interactive

I'll probably write an epilogue or expanded wrap up of sorts.

And maybe if people still want me to continue after that I may.

I'll try to make more quests more interactive from now on. I did try to incorporate everyone's input the absolute best ways I could.

Thanks to everyone who read and followed along, it really was fun.

All thanks to you. The VN-ish premise of obviously a bit shady but the quest was quite decently written, allowing suspension of disbelief to kick in and leading to those oh so heartwarming moments.

Here's hoping to see you around on /qst/ more.
