The darkness fades as you wake with your lungs burning and gasping for air. You’re lying on your side on a rocky surface but that’s all you can tell for now for it is completely dark. You can barely see your own hand waving in front of your face!

What had happened? You do your best to remember. You had spent too long on the sea snake and the Quedeshi boats had advanced further than you had wished. You remember soaring through the air on an insane plan and the enslaved anacondas waiting for you below…
Ah, now you remember! You were drowning!

Which makes your current situation all the more confusing. You are completely soaked through but the rock beneath you is almost dry. You do your best to keep your breathing steady but wind up coughing yourself half to death instead.

It is completely dark. You feel like shit. You have lost your pack. But this still isn’t the worst waking moments you’ve ever had.

The darkness around you is nearly devoid of sound but you can hear water lapping up against the rock somewhere. Are you on an island?

>Get up and start wandering about in the dark. You need to find your pack

Fuck this, you need that pack! You're not much use without it right now. You stand up gingerly, wincing with every new ache and pain that presents itself. The Champion's Elixir had not been merciful.

The darkness doesn't get any better as you start to explore but you're pretty sure you're under a ceiling of some sort. Either that or it's the darkest damn night you've ever seen. Ugh.

You trip over your pack more than find it, it's several meters and up a rocky slope of some kind. The whole thing is waterlogged again but at least it isn't falling apart. Small mercies.

You fumble through your potions for several minutes before you finally manage to activate the Sun Potion resting near the bottom of your pack.
Light floods out and you have to look away for several seconds before your eyes adjust.

You are standing in some kind of cave. Blue-grey rock forms the walls around you and water slowly drips from the high ceiling. You are currently sitting in a sloped tunnel.

You can still hear the sound of water and you can now identify it's coming from below. A shoreside cave? But this air has to be coming from somewhere so surely if you go up you'll find yourself back on dry land?

Sorry about the delay on this one. Had a phone call.

>Call out
>Heal-All

No need to get hasty just yet. You're not going to be able to help anyone like this! You locate then quaff a Heal-All as quickly as you can to help alleviate any lingering injuries and then break the Caster open so you can clean it.
Too bad the Heal-All doesn't stop you from feeling like crap.

"Hello? Anyone here?"
This'll give away your position but you don't really care about that. Anyone with a brain should have been able to have pinpointed you from all your shuffling about anyway.
"Hello?"

Your voice bounces and echoes around the tunnel and only after it finally ceases do you hear the response.
A woman calls out from below but not in any language you can understand. Is that Quedeshi?

You hear a splash, followed by something very large slapping onto rock. It doesn't take long before the 'mermaid' slithers up around the bend and towards you.

She's about the same size as Aashenpreet's giant human form, you'd wager. A nude Quedeshi woman with a glossy blue snake-tail instead of a lower body. She has to be nearly thirty feet long in total, her human half taking roughly seven feet from the top of her head to her waist and her snake body extending for at least twenty feet after that.
And both parts of her are covered in scars, both old and new. She's bleeding even now from a dozen tiny cuts along her torso.

She looks down at you with evident confusion before speaking, exposing a mouth full of backwards-facing sawteeth.

You can't understand her at all.

She looks hurt so maybe helping her with that will help secure her trust. And besides, you don't like to think of somebody getting hurt because of you. Even if they are monsters who would probably eat you if they had the chance.
You've always been perhaps a little too sympathetic to snakes.

You fish out your last Heal-All and hold it aloft. She plucks it from your hand and looks at it with a complete lack of comprehension.

You have to mime drinking it several times before she seems to get the gist and even then she just dumps the entire bottle in her mouth and swallows it, glass and all. It doesn't seem to bother her and she is audibly surprised by the brew's results as her wounds begin to mend.

So when you give her the Improved Wordtheft Elixir she drinks it immediately and then looks both disappointed and suspicious when it doesn't produce an immediate curative effect.

You take the bottle back before she can finish it, jumping up to get it out of her hands. You drink the rest, establishing the link.

"Hello?", you say. This language is like Quedeshi, very much so but it isn't identical.

"Hello," she echoes. "What are you?"
Her voice is very soft.

"Uh. I'm Cennen. Nice to meet you? Thanks for saving me."

"What have you done to me?"

Ah.

You shake your head in disbelief. Now that you think about it, hadn't she been surprised by all of your selected squad being serpentine?
"Did they really send you in blind to fight other snakes?"

She blinks.
"I was told there would be snakes. I didn't know they would be so small. Now, what did you do to me?"

"It's called the wish-bond. Ever heard of it?"
When she shakes her head you continue.
"It's part of your divine punishment. Whenever you are captured by a human you have to grant them three wishes."

"Captured?"

"Yeah, like I did just before. Surely you must have heard of it. Haven't you ever met a human before?"

"Meet? No. Humans are for eating."

You stop and think for a moment. This isn't the usual Quedesh constrictor attitude. They're a lot more civilized than this and don't even eat that many humans.
"You are from Quedesh, right?"

She shakes her head emphatically.
"I am from Thri Ceilon."

"Cei-what?"

"Home for the sea-folk. It is where we have always lived."

"And it's ...near Quedesh?"

"Quedesh are our cousins," she says with some distaste. "They are soft-bellied and live on land with human meat."

"So your kind don't live with humans at all?"

She nods enthusiastically.
"Humans come in wooden containers, some of it Quedeshi some of it not. But trying to bite it doesn't work, you have to guile humans close and make them come to you before you can crack their boats open."

You try to hold back your distaste.
"But you look Quedeshi."

"Like I said, they are cousins. Long ago we were all on a voyage together to the end of the world. Our ancestors left early and decided to live in the rocks of the sea. Quedeshi cousins stayed the course, found land and became too much like humans."

"I ...see?"
So a colony of constrictor-offshoots like the anacondas then. You guess they really got around.
"Then why are you here?"

"They sailed right through our waters and we came for human meat. Then they chained us and hurt us until we obeyed. Towed us behind their ships."

"Wait, so all these scars?"
There really are a lot of them.

She nods again.
"My scales are soft so they lashed me a lot. Bundled us up and told us we would have food later."

You wince.
"Sorry about that. So why even stay with them then?"

"I don't know the way back home. And now I cannot leave because I must protect you."

"Yeah. Speaking of which, you brought me here, didn't you? You grabbed me out of the water."

"Yes. I took you back down here because I know humans die in water."

"And that's all that's happened? Nothing else?"

"Then I went back and they asked me why I threw you and I had to lie. They cut me open for fighting you wrong."

"Oh. But you're alright now right?"

"Yes. You gave me the magic."
She doesn't seem to understand what alchemy is but you note that she's willing to accept that you have some kind of magic and not question it. So there's that at least.

"No, not really. Humans that want to mate are easy to eat. It's why I have these."

Luckily you are a naming master. Just think of all the snakes back in Snakehome that ended up being called something like Zigzag or Snouty.
You think for a moment before hitting on the fancy alchemical term for water that you see in textbooks all the time.

"A name is something that other people call you."

"Oh!"
She perks up a little.
"Then my name is SssssSSsssshhiss"

"Yeah, I can't pronounce that and I'm a little surprised that you can. Your name is Aqua now."

"No it isn't," Aqua says.

"You'll get used to it. Now how long have I been done here?"

"The sun has moved a lot in the sky."

So at least several hours! Shit! How much have you missed?
"Then what's happened to the fleet?"

"The boats are still there."

You sigh. You guess you can't rely on her for perfect intel for anything above-water.

Actually why don't we make her a few knockout brews but use our lethal venom we have bottled up so it's lethal? She'd still be immune to it and the rest of her people will stay underwater. Then we can follow up with our firebomb idea.

"So Aqua, you're not too fond of the Quedeshi, are you?"

She shakes her head.

"So why not work with us instead?"
You dredge your cauldron up from your pack and prepare to do a cold brew. You need to restock.

"Who is 'us'?"

"Uh, that might be a bad translation. It's a word that mean-"

"No, I know what it means. Who are you signifying with it?"

"Well, by 'us' I mean me and the humans back on the land here. And all the small snakes as well."

She looks dubious.
"I don't want anything to do with land-dwellers."

"Well I'm a land-dweller and you've already got a lot to do with me. Might as well go the whole way right?"

She shrugs.
"You're different. I really want to protect you and it's a strange feeling. Like it's after mating season and I'm stuffed with eggs."
She leans in close and peers at you. Is...Is she sniffing you?
"You're not an egg."

"I should hope not. But why not work for us and get some revenge on the people who did this to you?"

"Sure!"
She frowns.
"That's not what I meant to say. What I meant to say was...of course I'll help you! No. Why would I do that when I can ea-help you instead? Anything you ask!"
Her tail writhes from side to the side, slapping against the tunnel walls.
"I forgot that you made a wish for this already. I don't have a choice. Of course I'll help you."

You eye the tail a little uneasily. It's been cracking and breaking the rock as if it were nothing.
"Again, sorry. I think I prefer the wish-bond to being eaten though. So," you say as you stir the cauldron and look at her tail.
"Why are you half and half like that anyway? If you don't mind me changing the subject."

"Top half is the lure. Bottom half is for speed and swimming."
Her tail twists and you notice it to be much flatter than a usual snake tail.
"And because hands. Nothing else in the ocean has hands like us and it's very useful. Lets me pick things up and build."

"Does the 'lure' really work?"

"Yes. All the humans on boats are usually male for some reason. And I have my Rattle too to turn their minds mushy so they jump overboard for me. Much easier than actually trying to fight."

"You can't eat humans that often, surely. Someone would notice."

"It's a rare delicacy so of course I eat other things too. Fish, sharks, squid, small whales. Large whales if my family is also with me. I've never eaten pale humans before though. Do you taste any different? Are your souls the same?"

"Leave my kind alone but those Quedeshi in the boats, you are more than welcome to."
You mix a variety of potions, including two more Champion's Elixirs, one of which you drink immediately and the other you give to Aqua.

"What is this?"

"A potion that can make your skin as tough as steel and stops you from feeling pain. It isn't quite Scale Art but it's a good replacement."

"I see."
She doesn't seem to fully understand but she drinks it anyway.
"Now come with me."

"Pardo-"

Her scarred tail whips out and pins you against the wall of the tunnel. You barely have time to struggle before it retracts into a coil, wrapping you up and dragging you to her. She towers over you.

'Oi, what are you doing? You have to help me!"

"I know. And I can't hurt or eat you either. But you kept asking me about my lure and you gave me an idea. You're not immune to it, are you?"
She leans in extremely closely, her bare skin brushing up against yours.
"I can just sing your mind to mush while helping you. Then you can wish for whatever I tell you to."

You struggle but you can't break out. She has her coils well around you and one of her hands pushing you down.
"I wish-"

The tip of her tail brushes around your head and jams itself into your mouth. You cannot speak.

"Just stay and listen. You can touch my lure all you want afterwards. That's basically what humans want, right?"
She reaches in and frees your arm from her coils, dragging it up and resting it atop a pendulous breast.
"Good. That makes you happy, doesn't it? So surrender to my song."

What follows is nearly a solid three minutes of rattling, a strange rattle from both her throat and tail. It makes you feel at first calm and then relaxed and then lustful. You recognize what it is from the Snake Empress. It's an upgraded form of Rattle Art designed to put all who hear it into trance.
It is with this that Aqua has tempted so many sailors.

But aside from a few superficialities it has no effect on you whatsoever. Your soul is frozen solid and cannot be tampered with.
Aqua's tail lazily unwinds as her song ends and she pushes you away as you are freed. You stumble and fall over.

"There, you should be entranced with me now. I'll help you fight Quedesh and then you can expend your wishbond in exactly the way I want you to, okay?"

You blink. Should you pretend to be under her thrall or not? You're still a little stunned from her smacking you against the wall like that.

Aqua takes your silence for submission.
"Oh good. Sorry about that...Cenna? Sinnen? Talking to humans is strange and uncomfortable. I'm more used to doing this. Now let's go finish up so I can eat you later."

She goes to pick you up again, obviously intending to take you back out into the water so you can fight the Quedeshi together.

Is that the giant dude they sent to wreck our trebuchets or the little snake Aqua bit in half?
>>

>Pretend to be enthralled for now. You're going to get her back.

You let her pick you up, her hands encircling your chest and do your best to look stupefied. You don't actually feel too her threatened by her attempt. It had no chance of actually affecting you after all and she even let you cop a feel. So you're going to mess with her a little by just pretending for now.

You let her bundle you up under her arm as she slithers back down the tunnel. In fact, in the interest of pretending to be enthralled, you decide to take advantage of your position.

Aqua stops for a moment and shivers.
"You really a handsy one, aren't you? Sto-aaah. Uh. Um. I've usually eaten them before they get this close. What are you doing?"

Okay, maybe that's getting into character a little too much. Aqua looks disappointed as you stop but continues on regardless until the two of you reach the bottom of the tunnel.
The cave here ends in a pool of saltwater. It must flow up here from the sea!

"Take a deep breath and then hold it in," Aqua instructs you as she clutches you tightly to her chest.
And then without further warning, she coils up and dives!

Out of the water she had been somewhat clumsy but in here she is both fast and graceful, winding through the tunnel with ridiculous speed and not touching the sides once.
As for you, you do your best to hang on and keep your mouth shut as she rockets through the water.

A minute or so later she breaks the surface and you gulp in air. Aqua's upper body is floating up to survey the world above the water and with you in both of her hands, you've got a pretty good view.

"What do you think?," she asks.

You are unable to answer. Most of the fleet is still out but those advance boats have made landing! You can see carnage on the docks in the distance and all the while those huge siege-ships in the back continue to pelt Taldenral with projectiles.
You can't believe it. How could they let them gain ground already?

Aqua misunderstands your shocked silence.
"Oh right. You shouldn't be able to take your attention off me. Of course you don't have any guidance here. So it's up to me."

>Continue to let Aqua make the decisions.

>>Ask if she can contact any of her family that were captured with her.

Dealing with all the constrictors, the anaconda slave labor, cranking and aiming the trebuchet is a lot to ask for. Might this be one of the times going full dragon is a good idea.
>>
>>63306
>>Ask if she can contact any of her family that were captured with her.
>>
>>63396
Another option is unleashing the stored ishmin on the boats upon the fleet
>>

>>
>>63396
Didn't the people of taldenral think that the szaren people unleashed the dragon on them last time we used it? Might paint Hiss in an unfavorable light and make them suspect that she's secretly from an enemy country.
>>
>Ask if she can contact any of her family that were captured with her.

"Hold on," you say.

Aqua hefts you into the air above her with a puzzled expression.
"You have something to say? I'm not going to marry you."

You wonder if sailors propose to her a lot.
"That's not it. Before we do anything else, can't you get in touch with the others of your kind they brought. You're not the only one right?"

She stares at you with mild suspicion.
"That's unusually coherent for someone so addled. Why would you want to see the others? Am I not enough for you?"

"N-no," you do your best to stutter. "You're all I need."

"That sounds better!"
She pulls you back down and holds you tight once more.
"But even in your stupor, I think you tripped over a good idea. We should free the rest!"

To be perfectly honest, this idea to simply pretend is sort of feeling worse and worse as time goes by. But you need her help and you don't want to bother with a fight right now.

So you just hold your breath while Aqua just speeds off once more. You spend nearly half an hour searching, with frequent trips up so you can keep breathing, until she finally happens upon her comrades.

There are three others and as Aqua swims up to them, they all crowd around you. None of them are quite as big as her but every single one of them bears the scars of their painful slavery served beneath the Quedeshi fleet.

You can't understand what they're saying while underwater but by their body language you think Aqua has had to discourage them from eating you several times.
Distasteful.

But other than that, they seem to have been gathered at only the cost of a little time!

>Ask them to head towards the docks.

>>63423
The smaller ones could likely avoid one of the bigger ships and crashing it into on its own size is probably a one time deal due to damage and us not knowing jack about sailing.

>>63487
I imagine they will be too happy about not being ground beneath Quedesh's heel to worry about that. At least immediately. And Hiss can always spin having a dragon in her favor, like she captured it from the countries enemies and tamed it or some shit.

I like it as a full on last resort to go full dragon. Just need to keep the mindset that Hiss is our princess we captured and hope she can bring us back to human.
>>
>>63606
I feel like Hiss would be contacting us via the brand if she needed our help badly. But then again her forces were spread pretty thin.
>>
>>63553
>>No, you need to head out to the big ships!

>>63560
It is one thing to maneuver around another ship in open waters, but right now the harbor is crowded with ships. We ought to do some significant damage at best and disrupt their entire formation at worst
>>
>>63553
>No, you need to head out to the big ships!

Only supporting this since it makes sense that most of the constrictors skilled in combat would have already made their way to the beachhead, leaving only a strong enough force of snakes to watch over the anacondas, likely bolstered by Ishmin as "gofers" and extra hands. Our "allies" are kinda shit on land so it would be dangerous to head back unless we took some roundabout path.
>>
>>63744
No the only boats that have reached land are half of the anaconda ships since we destroyed half of them
>>
>>63779
Then we are headed to boats with powerful constrictors most likely and garrisoned by full crews of Ishmin? That doesn't sound wise.
>>
>No, you need to head out to the big ships!

Aqua and her companions surface far off to sea behind the fleet where nobody should be able to see them. You get the feeling that they have quite the experience when it comes to stalking ships like this.
It also lets you get a good look at the other ones and it surprises you just how much their human halves look like Aqua.

Of course, why wouldn't they? They're not like the snakes of Snakehome or Quedesh, they don't adopt human appearances to differentiate themselves. Their appearance is never intended to be anything more than a glamour, a lure. The appearance they all apparently decided was the best one for their purposes.

It makes you wonder just how many of them are actually male.

"Why are we taking orders from a human?"

"We're not!"
Aqua seems recalcitrant to reveal the existence of the wish-bond to her fellows.
"He's still guiled."

"So can we eat him after?"

"No! I will! I found him!"

"But you always eat the most."
"I want more!"

"I'm bigger," Aqua says. "I need to eat more. And if you lay a tooth on him then maybe I'll be eating you!"

They seem to take her threat seriously which is sort of scary in and of itself.

"There will be plenty of people to eat on the boats," you tell them.

"I thought he was mushy."

"He is! He just likes to talk."

Aqua grabs hold of you again as all four constrictors go back under and you hold on for dear life.
And in time, you can see a huge shadow pass over you as Aqua swims beneath one of the three giant boats at the back of the fleet.

You watch them co-ordinate underwater, the four splitting up so that each one takes one side of the ship. Their tails reach out and brush up against it as they push themselves back to the surface and begin their quartet.

You surface as well, still held tight by Aqua. Alright! It's time!

And yet...they're not attacking. Or at least, they aren't advancing on the boat. They're simply content to stay in the water and sing.
You watch as the first sailor climbs the railing, his eyes fixed on Aqua as he takes the plunge into the ocean.

Aqua fishes him out with her tail and holds them beneath the surface until he stops struggling.
The other three are at work as well and the trebuchets quickly run out of human crew as they either plunge themselves to their death or they are restrained by the constrictors working the trebuchets.
Either way, the missiles from this particular boat have been stilled for a time.

And yet Aqua still isn't advancing. She's focussing entirely on catching as many seaborne Quedeshi as she can. Human blood leaks from her jaws and covers you as she starts biting sailors in half without ever interrupting her song.

"You're supposed to be storming the boat! Attack it!"

Aqua stares at you blankly, not even stopping her never-ending feast.
"Sssh. Go back to sleep."

She pushes your face into her bloodstained chest.

She isn't clutching you very tightly, you notice, apparently confident in her song's ability to hold you in thrall. Well nuts to that.
At least she and her companions are making a fine distraction.

You grab hold of her arm and wriggle out from where she's holding you and you hear her gasp as you start swimming towards the boat.

"Get back here!"

Her command fails to effect you and when you're nearly twenty feet away from her, her tail whips out underneath you!

The tail bursts out of the water beneath you and you can't help but be lifted up with it! Running out of options, you simply roll to the side and let yourself fall as the tail coils up around where you should have been.

You hit the water and start swimming as best you can, salt filling your mouth and nostrils. Her tail uncoils and thrusts back out at you but this time you're ready and you grow a branch out between you and it.

As you expected, Aqua's tail wraps around the branch growing out of your back and you simply sever it when she does so.

"What's wrong with you! You're supposed to be food!"

You avoid the tail a third time and find yourself at the side of the ship. Huh. It's taller than your expected. That's quite a climb.

You let your branches grow out and start latching onto the side of the ship as you lever yourself up. It's slow-going but at least you're out of reach of Aqua's tail now.

And then a shadow falls over the railing above you. Three constrictors are standing up there and in their hands they sport blackwood longbows that must be at least ten feet high! They peer at the mermaids below and begin drawing the strings back, nocking arrows larger than spears.

Shit. Aqua will probably be fine but the others don't have scales to withstand that!

You're definitely in throwing range right now, even if the angle is a bit more steep than what you're used to. Time for your Knockout Brew to shine once more!

You grab it from your pack and toss it up right into their midst as you keep climbing up! It's a perfect shot too, landing right in the middle of them!

Not to mention, the cloud of smoke it makes should you give you excellent cover while your venom immunity keeps you safe.

You throw yourself over the railing to find the deck of the ship in chaos.

The towering trebuchets have been stilled and the constrictors once manning them either grabbing bows or pulling humans back below-decks to stop them from leaping overboard.
You spot the mathematicians tied up in the corner.

The three archers in front of you are coughing and succumbing to the mist but you can see others arming themselves with bows and arrows. You doubt any of the young constrictors here are particularly good shots but you're not sure if you'd enjoy being hit by one of those even with the Elixir!
At least the other archers don't seem to have noticed you yet.

>Implying Tanni's not here as well

>You should focus on nobbling these three archers currently falling unconscious at your feet

You need to take advantage of this chaos as best you can and that probably involves you nobbling these three right here and right now. You won't be able to take on a whole damn ship on your own, you'll need backup!

But to nobble three people at once, each of them ten foot high...that's going to take some effort.

You kneel down beside them and start to concentrate as you grow your branches and vines out. You just need to encircle all three of them...
One of them still seems a little conscious and he lets out a strangled cry for help. Whoops.

Even still, you should have time to finish this before anyone can reach you, right!
It only then occurs to you that not everybody on the deck had to have been standing on the deck itself. Those trebuchet towers are quite high after all...
A shadow falls over you.

>Rumpleskin.

You pull your pack open and grab the Rumpleskin with a vine, miraculously before the snake can finish transforming. You throw it straight and true and watch as the giant snake stiffens and coils even tighter as its own scales become a prison. How can you hope to do anything when you're trapped in your own skin?

There, now you can finish nobbl- Snakes can shed their skin.

This thought tears through you mere moments before the afflicted python shatters, fragments of hardened and warped snake-skin flying everywhere.
A figure emerges, a Quedeshi giant in loose-fitting trousers with a shaven head save for a long black braid. For the briefest of moments you think he is holding aloft yet another snake but no, he's holding his own frozen shed-skin like a club.

He smacks you in the side with it and you go flying across the deck, your flight only ended by colliding with one of the supports for the immense trebuchets.
And since you had branches and vines coiling around them, all three unconscious archers are dragged with you. They roll all over the deck.

You get to your feet. Ouch. You didn't feel the pain from that one but the steel-skin on your left side is visibly cracked. At least he didn't break anything just yet.

And oh shit he's throwing the rest of the skin at you.

Weird, this just happened in Hellborne quest too so hard that Languid had to stop to "re-think some things".

Also, I was wondering if that was going to happen afterwards.

Do we happen to have a snake dispel?

Anyways, I look forward to us being severely crippled since our one protector snake is in the water, and we didn't nobble any others.

Looks like nobbling WASN'T the worst plan after all!

No, people got all scaredy cat of the nobbling.

I feel like snakeskin is too light to do damage after being thrown regardless of how tough it is
>>
>>64691
I dunno, it's there but it doesn't say anything after it.

I'm also pretty drunk.

It's Tuesday what do you expect.
>>
>4

The snakeskin hits you right in the face and though it can't really hurt you, it restricts your vision just enough that by the time you finally get it off you, you are treated to the sight of the constrictor charging in right in front of you!

You don't even have time to raise an arm or a branch to block as he sinks his fist right into your lower chest.
You feel it happen in agonizing slowness. The punch doesn't hurt your steel skin but that doesn't matter.

Your skin is unharmed but the impact continues, splintering ribs and pulverizing organs.Your whole body spasms and you are vomiting blood before you've even left the man's fist. And leave his fist you surely do just a moment later as the force smashes you back into the trebuchet...no, through the trebuchet. You strike the central beam and it breaks before you do, snapping in half as you flop to the ground in a haze.

"I don't know what magic you have used upon your skin," the giant says in accented Avling as he stands over your broken body. "But it was an unlucky choice, considering the circumstances. Anyone of my kind with serious battle training knows how to defeat invulnerable skin."

You're still alive somehow. The Oakskin! That brew transformed even your insides to possess the durability of wood. If it hadn't been for that you would have died instantly, your organs rendered into a bloody slurry to be expelled from every orifice. Now instead you're simply crippled.

The fact that you're still spasming helplessly seems to impress him.
"Do not fear this death, tiqesh. You were a worthy opponent and I will take your soul into mine forever. Rest easy."
He raises his foot above your head. Shit. He's really going to do it. He's just going to crush you.

You can't move. Or rather, you're constantly moving but not in the way you want. You can't stop twitching for some reason.
All you can do is watch.

And then the entire boat slopes downwards, lifted by some ungodly force and you slide down the deck just as he smashes the wood where your head used to be!

"Hiss?," you croak.

"Sennun!"
Oh.

Aqua rips through the floor beside you, having apparently tunnelled her way through the bottom of the ship and every single deck. She's bleeding from half a dozen places and there are still a few spear-arrows lodged in her torso and tail.

"Cenna? Are you alive?"

You gurgle incoherently. You need your Heal-All. You have to get your Heal-All.

>Pray for Aqua to get your damn Heal-All.

>No, she needs to fight off that constrictor!

>>
>>64780

>>
I may be able to find this answer elsewhere, and if you know where, point me there, but:
Are there restrictions to the wish-making, or is it anything asked for happens?

Example, if I were to cast a vote for a wish of merging myself (ourselves?) with someone, what would be the restrictions?

Thanks.
>>
>>64788
They have to be within the snakes capabilities. So no, that wouldn't work.
>>
Sorry for the delay on this one. Was eating.

>Try and grab the Heal-All from your bandoleer.

You can't ask Aqua to do this for you. She's going to have her hands full fighting your assailant. You hear her screech as she rushes in and then she's out of your field of view.
You need to grab the Heal-All out of your bandoleer yourself and you need to do it now. It won't fix all of this at once but the quicker the recovery the better it'll be.

Your arms are trembling but you concentrate and you grow branches and vines that curl up along your arms and steady them. Yes. Yes, that can work.
Who cares if you've lost a few measly bones and organs? You're not a human! You're a motherfucking dandelion.

Your plant-assisted arms locate the Heal-All and you drink it right away. Now you just need to drink another dozen real quick maybe and you might be in business. Fuck.

Aqua is in trouble. Her superior strength gave her a little bit of an early edge but her opponent is wearing her down.
And then, as you manage to drag yourself just a little further up, you see him do the same thing to her as he did you.

Aqua starts vomiting uncontrollably and her tail lashes out all over the deck! It strikes the already tilted trebuchet that you'd been punched through and knocks it over, smashing it into the second one in a rain of wood and smithereens!

Humans and constrictors alike run for cover as shrapnel flies freely. But you don't get that luxury. You can't run. You can't hide. You can only grow a shell of branches over yourself as debris rains down and hope that you get lucky.

>You mix a variety of potions, including two more Champion's Elixirs, one of which you drink immediately and the other you give to Aqua.

We didn't drink any heal-alls. Why are you so mad?
>>
>97

The trebuchet collapses in a hail of rubble and yet miraculously, none of it strikes you! Your meagre cover of branches recedes and you...well, you don't get to your feet exactly.

Instead, branches and roots slowly extrude from your body, framing your rattled limbs and body and they make you stand up. You might not be able to move but you can still grow, even if by this point you now look more tree than man.

Aqua is still writhing, her body half-buried under rubble. There's a lot of blood there. You stagger towards her, ready to help in anyway you can when a shifting in the rubble catches your eye.

The bald constrictor emerges from beneath the collapsed central beam. He is entirely unharmed, black and yellow scales dancing across his human form.
"There is much to be said for the valor in fighting on when all hope is lost," he wheezes. "But if you surrender now, I will not kill you. If you surrender now this savage here might still be saved."

>>
>>64884
I wish we had shapeshifted into a bird again and just dropped Snakebreakers onto the boats.
>>
>>64907
Regen only heals damage that occurs after it is drunk. And shape stealer is very temporary. Also it's just a copy of someone else's body.
>>
>>64911
We still can actually. I'm glad we tried something more interesting than that though.
>>
>>64899
Yeah we got pretty fucked I don't see it explicitly stated that our spine was snapped. Not in the way our ribs and organs were.

I mean I could assume we're crippled for life, but Ouro already said calm down. Why continue to nay-say, was it the 1?
>>
>Pocket sand!

"Stop!," you reach out as best you can and fall to your knees. Meanwhile you send a vine curling into your pack to grab your last Snake Dispel.
"I surrender. Please...you got to save her."

"Very well. Give me your pack first."
He strides forward with his hand outstretched, ready to disarm you. And as he steps close you retract the vine, whipping the Snake Dispel bottle straight onto the deck!

Your enemy reacts the moment he sees something coming out of your pack, his human body breaking apart into dust and his true self emerging as a giant serpent! He lunges forward, ducking down beneath the trajectory of any bottle you would have thrown. A very smart move so it's a shame that it's completely ineffective against simply smashing the bottle open on the ground.

The cloud of Snake Dispel smoke fills your vision and by the time the constrictor reaches you. the snake is barely only four feet long. He falls to the ground, the reduced weight altering his momentum enough that he doesn't even strike you.

You have to be wary however. He still has the strength advantage.

>Stomp on the snake's head.
>See to Aqua.

You lift your boot over the thrashing snake's head in a direct mirror to what he had been about to do to you. Long thorns slowly slide out of your foot.
"Let's see how you like it," you say and almost immediately feel bad. Killing is something you've grown accustomed to you. But that doesn't mean you have to do it like Hiss.

You bring the boot down, killing him instantly.

"Cennnnnnn...," Aqua gurgles from behind you. You rush over to her, your vision still obscured by the combination of the Dispel smoke and the rubble.

It doesn't look good for her. In addition to the various wounds she'd already picked up, there's a long splinter several feet long that has penetrated an already-existed wound in her tail and has skewered her to the deck. Her face is stained with blood and you can't tell how much of it is her own.

You are out of Heal-Alls. And even if you were to brew more, would you really spend them on her before tending to yourself.
"Hey, Aqua. Everything's going to be alright."

"No," she whispers. "This morning...when you spared my life, I thought you were saving me. I didn't repay it very well. But now I see...you'd only granted me an extension. Unt-until you needed me to die more usefully."

"That's not true."

"I'm sorry."

You're all out of traditional healing but that doesn't mean hope is lost. A Skinshedder won't cure her but it can at least give her a different form to escape to until you have a solution for what ails her.

"Here Aqua, I need you to drink this. And it's important that you have an image in mind, okay? That's what it turns you into!"

She just stares at you with glazed eyes. Shit. You hold her mouth open and pour the Skinshedder in.

Hold up, there's snakes all round us, could we just have her become like a mouse or something and nobble an anaconda for transportation?

Guys remember how much we wanted to eat humans when we became a dragon? I'm picturing the urge as much stronger for her if she becomes one.

The snake she always wanted to be.

Inb4 she's a little girl.

TRANSFORM INTO A BUNYIP. AQUATIC HEALING DOG.
>>
>>65060
Well then you better catch up on every thread in the archives!
>>
>>65064
The only humans around here are our enemies. Besides, snakes are so much tastier.

Also it would be a Dragon wishbonded to us, and we could always wish her . . .

Wait, no, this is our last wish.

Nobble her as she is transforming after we wish.

>idk man it's late

Damn straight it is, I'm fucking tired. So let's just call it a day here and I'll return tomorrow at the usual time to update. Just make sure this thread doesn't fall of the bad before then, should be easy since /qst/ is slow as hell.

I hope you all had fun today, the thread's already been archived in the link in the OP if you want to check it out later, check out the twitter for updates, etc etc.
>>
>>65059
Hmm, maybe half human then, she might be partial to that.

Also, would she be able to lure people in like she did here:
>>63854
or is that an ability that her current body has?
>>
>>65070
I did Ouro. Would Bunyip work well, would she have their natural regeneration?
>>
>>65072
Only her current snek body can do that
>>
>>65073
Her bunyip body would have no wounds to heal but they would return when she became a snake again.
>>
>>65073
Er well I guess regen doesn't work on wounds already inflicted. Alchemy is hard.
>>
>>65070
>fall of the bad
what the fuck. My subconscious opinion of /qst/ is revealed!

Anyway I'll count all of these votes y'all are making tomorrow
>>
>>65077
I see. Maybe we can still prune it for high quality reagents still, but yeah I dunno what to do.

Can you start a new thread. For archiving purposes
>>
>>65099
Looks like it was already archived.
>>

Maybe it's 'cause I'm tired but I don't understand your issue here.
>>
>>65112
Keep a thread per session.
>>
>>65114
Tomorrow's session probably won't be very large, that's all.

>Make a wish.

Do you really want to use your final wish for this? Aqua isn't actually your friend. Hell, just earlier today she was your enemy! Even now you're fairly sure that she'd kill you if she could.
But you're sick of people dying because of you.

She doesn't look like she understood your instructions so if you're unlucky the Skinshedder won't have any effect at all. You need to burn your third wish now or else it might all have been for nothing.

"I wish you were..."

Not much. Decided to have a wish-clarifying vote since it was a bit of a muddle last night.

>Specifically a bird large enough to carry me as well.

"...a bird! Uh, specifically a bird large enough to carry me as well. A really big one."

Aqua gives you a strange look and bursts apart. Sitting in her place is a giant white gull, one as big as you. It stares at you with slitted snake-eyes before jumping to its feet in alarm. It is entirely uninjured.

Beneath your feet you can feel the boat rumble. Didn't Aqua knock a hole into the bottom? It must be taking on water pretty quickly.
In addition, you spot movement in the rubble all around you!

Oh fuck, that's right. There were a bunch of other constrictors on this boat as well. They're digging themselves out in a variety of snake and human forms and you probably only have moments before they attack!

"Come on Aqua!"
Clawed talons close around you and begin to lift you into the air as the gull rises, lifting high above the ship and the surrounding water.

And as you rise you spot Aqua's three companions still in the water beside the ship. Why haven't they fled yet?
They're dead. All three of them are floating in a mixture of blood belonging to both theirs and their victims, huge spear-arrows piercing their flesh.

The bird carrying you shrieks. And then she lets go of you.

>60

You're not feeling particularly fast right now but you manage to lash a vine around the bird's foot just in time and you dangle there awkwardly as Aqua starts to panic.
Why is she descending? Why is she going back down?

"Oi! No! We want to escape! Get us out of here!"

Your words don't mean much to her anymore unfortunately and she lands clumsily back on the ship!
"Are you having trouble flying? Just flap your bloody wings and argh!"

She jumps to the side and, taking advantage of the fact that you are still tied to her foot, uses that to smack you into the side of the boat. You still can't feel pain but little bursts of colour bloom behind your eyes all the same.
And then she does it again. And again. And again.

Fuck. You'd been hoping it had been accidental but she was clearly intending to drop you on purpose. She doesn't want you here and you only have seconds before the constrictors left on the boat realize what's going on and converge on you.

We can help her get revenge. In this form she can't do it alone and if she changes back she'll die but if we work together we can avenge her friends easily. We'll rain alchemical death down on them while she flies us around.
>>
>>69144
The second my potion wears off you die unless I give you another heal all.
>>

This plus add that we can save her life with our brews

Blegh. I'm really feeling the Block today, writing is sluggish and stupid.
I'll make a new thread another day alright? Sorry about that guys.

Thread is archived in the qstarchives, check the twitter, etc. I need like, three more hours worth of sleep or something.
>>
>>69236
Well thanks for writing Ouro. Odds are this will still be up tomorrow anyways. Get some sleep snek.
