Eloise gives your team a lopsided smile as she approaches you. The suit she used to wearing is torn and scorched in places, underneath it is another dress suit nearly identical to her mundane one, this one glowing a bright red, almost rivaling the sun in its luminance. You wince as you turn away from the glowing uniform of the Hexenkraft magical girl. You suppose that how she got through your barrier so quickly. With a codename like ‘Wildfire’, you shouldn’t have expected any less. She rips the shredded clothing off her body with an arm, freeing her burning form for all to see. “Did you think that would stop me, little girl?” She hisses at you, eyes darting between your gathering of magical girls. Her eyes keep wandering until they settle on Alma and Rei. “And you freed my playthings too. That won’t do.” Her flame red clothing turns white in heat as she closes the distance between you. Alma cowers before the girl as she awaits her fiery death, Rei only glares at her in defiance. She weakly lifts her hand, a purple light fills the room, contrasting with the white glow that Eloise gives off. Her revolver appears in the palm of her hand.“Eat this.” She growls before pulling the trigger. This gives Eloise some pause, and she ducks under the bullets. To both yours and Eloise’s surprise, the bullets curve down to hit her. It’s Rei’s turn to be surprised as the bullets melt into molten metal against Eloise’s uniform, sliding down her. Undeterred, she continues her rabid charge. You do the most logical thing you can think of, and throw yourself between her and Alma. You block a blazing strike from her, with your hammer, and wince as the metal of the weapon carries the heat into your hands. Wildfire recoils as she finds your hammer instead of Alma’s flesh.“Go on, get outta here!”“But what about you?” Josie turns, and gives her a wink.“We’ve dealt with worse than the likes of her, she’s no match for the Boston Bruiser!” Josie waves at her mockingly. [1/2]
>>548577“C’mon, Killer Queen, let’s fight!” Jeez, that sounded like something right out of a comic book. She appraises your group once again. Alma bolts her eyes shut and grips Rei into a tight hug, before she vanishes into nothingness. Eloise must know that she’s outnumbered and that winning a fight like this is going to take more than a miracle. She reaches into her pocket, and pulls out a small kitchen knife. Really? That’s her weapon? You almost burst into laughter before it’s blade burns like the rest of her. “Killer Queen? I think you have the wrong person. I’m no murderer, see. I’m a normal person, who lives a normal life.” She grips the weapon, with the blade pointing downwards, and tries to fling it into you. You brace for impact, but it never comes. Diane’s in front of you before either of you can blink, and her knife tings harmlessly off of her rapier, leaving a small red part of it behind. She twirls the sword in her hand, before she salutes with it. Eloise grits her teeth in frustration. There’s a lot of evidence to say otherwise, but, eh. You’re not in the mood to argue with her.[x] Check the locked room while the rest of the team fights Wildfire[x] See how she likes fighting four magical girls.[x] Write in

>>548579>[x] See how she likes fighting four magical girls.Mr. Shin, meet Mr. Hammer.
>>548579> all of us fight herI know we are weakened and all but best not to split the party. Especially if Josie gets her hands burnt from punching the girl on fire. Also we should tease her about thinking sneaking round killing innocent people makes her dangerous when really it just makes her a bully.
There’s no reason to squander your advantage here. You shouldn’t spare anything in dealing with her. If your experience with previous Hexenkraft magical girls are anything to go by, they usually come back to haunt you like some kind of obsessive fan. She backs up from you slowly, eyeing up all four of you, probably trying to figure out which one she should take care of first. You’d probably be the first choice, considering you’ve recently had your strength taken from you by that other creep. Josie’s fst charges with power and she winds up a punch to hit her in the face, the only part of Eloise’s body that hasn’t been totally consumed by her burning outfit. Eloise’s eyes fall on Babs, and that predatory grin returns to her face. She blocks Josie’s haymaker with the flat of her blade. Josie’s hand jumps back and she shakes it as she’s singed by the flaming cooking implement. Babs hardly has the time to react before Eloise is practically right on top of her. The blade comes down and cuts into her, steam trickles from the wound as her blood boils. Elosie smiles as she withdraws the blade from the Babylonian’s body. The girl’s look of shock is locked onto her face as she collapses. “I hope the rest of you won’t go down this easily.” She wipes Bab’s blood on a sleeve, and her knife regains its glow. Her grin turns to you. “Was that your little sister or something? You look like you’re ready to pound me into dust with that thing.” You are, and there’s nothing stopping you from doing so. The fatigue you felt is completely gone, replaced by the desire to turn this Kraut into pancake. “You’re more than welcome to play with me, Victory~” Her voice takes on a strange lit. It’s probably nothing, and you focus on the task at hand. She anticipates your attack and hops backwards, right into Diane’s rapier. Eloise realises a bit too late, barely avoiding being turned into shish kebab courtesy of your fencer. “Oh my, you and your friends against little old me? Go easy on me, please. I’m a fragile girl.” You have no intention of doing that. She’s hurt Babs, and she should count herself lucky if she walks out of this at all. You swing with your hammer, aiming for her head, she ducks under it, only to find Josie’s foot connecting with her face.
>>548723“Owch! Hey, that’s cheating!” Josie frowns as she rubs her foot in pain. Eloise doesn’t seem to care, as she swipes upwards with her knife, sizzling as it grazes through Josie’s face. Blood doesn’t come out of the wound, probably due to the intense heat that’s being sent through the metal now. “A four on one fight’s cheating!” Eloise spins on her heel to face Diane. The speed at which Diane stabs and slashes at the flaming magical girl is mindboggling, but somehow, she’s managing to keep up with Diane blow for blow. Neither of them seem ready to falter at all.Diane furrows her brow, and she goes for Eloise’s legs, doing her best to sweep them out from under her and send her to the ground. She’s successful, but only in cutting into the girl’s cheek. Eloise reacts quickly, bouncing back onto her feet, planting them into Diane’s face as she does so. Diane curses as she struggles to orientate herself. It’s too late, and Diane gasps as the blade cuts into her stomach. It’s not a very deep one, it looks like her dress bore the brunt of it. “Baiser ta mère!” Diane screams at the magical girl, doubling her efforts in trying to get the upper hand on her. You suppose that now’s a better time than any to try deal with her once and for all. She’s busy trying to keep Diane’s blade away from her body. The sound of metal rebounding against each other reminds you of a machine gun firing. One small slip on either side could mean bad news for them. Or you could tip the scales in Diane’s favor and knock her out with one critical blow to the head. She spots you, but doesn’t have many good options in trying to“Not used to ‘victims’ who fight back? I can tell.” You smile at her, before slamming your hammer as hard as possible into her body. She’s sent flying across the room, burning body melting the concrete of the wall behind her. She looks up weakly at you, that damnable smile’s back on her face.“That, that was just foreplay, Victory.” She draws her knife again, brandishing it dangerously. Erika’s less than amused by her, and levels her tank gun with the magical girl. There’s no way she’s getting out of this one. No way at all. The thunderous explosion resounds through the room. Eloise dives out of the way, but doesn’t make it far enough. Wait. What’s she doing. There’s no explosion. Or there is, but she’s doing something to it. The normal burst of flame and metal and death that comes after a 88 millimeter gun hit is being sucked into her. Is that the right word? Absorbed? Drained? Whatever, it’s called, it’s not supposed to happen. Her eyes glow red, and she glares at you. She stands up, leaving puddles of molten rock where she stands. Two words come out of her mouth.“I’m angry.” [x] Yeah, now seems like a good time to leave.[x] Psh, you ain’t scared of her.[x] Write in

>>548724> grab Babs and run awayWho the hell is this girl that can beat Diane in a sword fight with nothing but a kitchen knife and can eat bullets.Maybe we can come back with alma and teleport her into the sun or something. Can we open a hole in the ground under her to distract her?
>>548750>Can we open a hole in the ground under her to distract her?We really should do this if we can.
Maybe having Erika shoot her with her gun was a mistake. The flames encompassing her uniform somehow glow even bright that they did before. She looks like she just crawled out of one of those Hawaiian volcanos. You step back as she approaches you. Surviving a near direct hit from one of the biggest tank guns made by man was intimidating enough already, but to be able to draw strength from that too? Yeah, you wager that a fight against someone like that would end poorly for you and your team. Not to mention that she somehow managed to keep pace with Diane, a world class fencer with nothing more than a kitchen knife. You keep your eyes on her as keeps approaching you and your group, watching for any other tricks she’s got hiding up her sleeves. She examines the knife in her hand as she speaks.“I thought you would have put two and two together, Victory.” She holds out a hand, producing a fire in it. You do your best to keep your composure together. Sure, she might be strong, but at least she isn’t Dracula! At least you aren’t dealing with Mercy and her creepy as all hell unliving status! At least you don’t have to worry about being Marionette’s personal, life sized Magical Girl Victory doll! Yeah! This isn’t so bad. Besides, you don’t really have to beat her, just get her out of your hair so that you can go about your business. And you think you have just the thing to handle that.“You’re just a bully! No matter how much fire you magic up, that’s all you are! All you’ll ever be! And I don’t like bullies!” You raise your hammer, and the rest of the crew look at you like you’ve grown a third arm. Eloise does too. “Ohoho? You still want to fight? Fine then, I’ll indulge you.” Just as planned. You charge, giving her your most convincing battle cry as you do. She speeds up a little, knife in hand and ready to bury it in you. She whistles casually as she walks. You slam your hammer down, missing her by practically a nautical mile. She looks down at your hammer, and stops whistling“Want to try again?” You shake your head, Eloise sighs and shrugs as she keeps going.“Fine, your funeral.” She runs at you, and you send all of your magical abilities through the hammer and into the concrete of the building. You will the floors on every floor of the building to open up. Your arms and legs tremble in exertion, but you have no choice but to keep it up. She’s about to kill you. It’s too late. Eloise looks down at her feet, finding that there’s no ground beneath them. She screams as she falls through the identical holes you’ve made in the floor of the building. You look down, and stomp at the ground in frustration. Looks like she managed to catch herself. Damn it all. Well, mission accomplished, right? You could always call for a pick up on the roof or something. [x] Now that that’s settled, break into that locked room. [x] Keep looking around this floor[x] Write in

We have put a dent in their NY operations and gave got some solid Intel. Maybe we should lick our wounds for now and come back with backup.Oh shit I just realised we never tried our laser gun on her.
>>548823>we never tried our laser gun on herWould that really work? I mean, she absorbs fire and heat, for all we know it'll just empower her.If we got to, then we shoot her in the eyes. That'll blind her so long as she's looking when we shoot.
The room is much more peaceful now that you don’t have to deal a walking, talking fire to deal with. You really ruined this place during the fight. Massive holes dot the walls of the room, courtesy of Erika and the gun that’s normally mounted on the most formidable of Kraut tanks. Bullet holes from Erika’s wild shooting earlier also dot the walls. The molten concrete pools made by Eloise are still filled with the stuff, and you take great care to not step in them. That would be nasty. You look over your shoulder, and at the hole you made, half expecting the flaming magical girl to crawl up from it, and surprise you. Eugh, you just creeped yourself out. Of course, there’s no vengeful Eloise, just empty air around the hole. The team leans against a wall, while Erika sits down, next to the unconscious form of Babs. That fight really took a lot out of everyone, Diane pants as she supports herself against a wall.“I-I need to practice more, I can’t believe some common filth almost beat me with a kitchen knife. A kitchen knife! My word.” Diane mutters to herself angrily. Josie stumbles over and throws an arm around her.“She’s a lousy cheater, if it was a fair and square fight, then you would have beat her like that.” Josie snaps her finger for emphasis. You run over Bab’s prone form. Erika’s busy tying a bandage around the wound with her own uniform. You place a hand on Bab’s chest. She’s still breathing, but you don;t know how long that’s going to last for. At least she isn’t bleeding. You look over at the sleeveless Erika, her metal arms whir and click even as she sits idly. You ruffle her hair, which makes her blush slightly and turn away from you. “Y’know, you’ve come a long way since France.” She mumbles a ‘thank you’. You’ll take it, you have other business to attend to, anyways. Now to solve the problem of opening the door. Looks like someone’s serious about their security. Almost half a dozen locks are on the door. Josie notices your attention on the door.“Say no more, I’m on the case!” She slams a magically charged fist into the array of locks, shattering the metal like glass. “Open sesame!” You thank her, and step into the ominous room, only to find...
>>548873Emptiness.Well, that was disappointing. File cabinets have been thrown open, in a hurry, it looks like. You look through them, only to find that they’re all devoid of any contents. Or anything useful, at least. There’s a maplewood conference desk sitting in the middle of the room, while other fancy looking chairs surround it. There’s a door leading to the roof. A letter’s fluttering in the wind, only being held down by a paperweight. You snatch it up, and read it.Hello Bureau Agent,If you are reading this then it is too late. I, Enrico Salvatore have escaped. The Hexenkraft have promised me eternal life and unlimited power, all for the paltry sum of the fall of this corrupt government. Take this letter to your officers. Let them know who will be their downfall. You crumple the letter in a hand. As if some lowlife gangsters would be able to beat you, or the Bureau. You’re getting sick of this place, and look for a phone. It might not be secured like the one at home, but it’ll have to do. “Hello Victory, how may I help?”“Yeah, I need a helicopter transport at the roof of Salvatore Imports.”The girl on the other end is almost irritatingly chirpy and bubbly. “You got it! Oh, and how do you feel about a trip to Germany soon?” You spot something out of the corner of your eye as she speaks. A wooden crate, marked with the Hexenkraft symbol.“I’ll tell you when I get back.” You smash the phone with your hammer. [x] Take the crate with you, it might have something valuable in it[x] Leave it behind, it might be a trapHow do you feel about a trip to Germany?[x] “I’m in the middle of something here”[x] “Sure, I hear it’s nice this time of year”[x] “I’m on vacation, and I’m going to enjoy what’s left of it”And that'll be it for me for tonight, be back tomorrow!

You shove the letter in your pocket. This Enrico guy might as well have signed his own confession. That is, if the Hexenkraft don’t off him first for some reason or another. That crate just won’t leave your mind. It might be some kind of trap, knowing the Hexenkraft. But at the same time, it might just be something that a mobster left behind in his hurry to get out of here. You heft it onto a shoulder and step out onto the roof of the building, the wind swirls around you, threatening to completely ruin your meticulously designed haircut. There’s quite a commotion outside, police cars and even a handful of Army National Guardsmen are on the scene. Wildfire’s fall through the building must have caused someone to call the police. You’re shaken from your thoughts by the characteristically beating of a helicopter’s blades. They really have to make those things quieter. The door opens, revealing a handful of Bureau agents who quickly storm out of the aircraft and onto the ground, rushing into the building. Josie and the rest of the team shove their way past them to meet you. Erika’s holding Babs in a fireman's carry, mechanical arms apparently sufficient to do so without issue. “Shoulda dealt with Wildfire when we had the chance, boss.” Josie slams a fist into her palm.“I hate bullies too.”“I don’t think she’s dumb enough to show her face while we’re in town.” Truth be told, you aren’t sure how well you’d handle a round two with the likes of her. You should ask Charlie if he’s got anything to deal with a fire eating magical girl stuck in that foundry of his. Because you’re pretty sure that the Hush Puppy’s not going to be enough. The tapping of a boot against metal “Don’t have all day.” You glare at the bespectacled man in the helicopter, and he stares at you in return. You step on to the aircraft, and it hovers away from the office building. He takes his glasses off and wipes them with a handkerchief. “Sorry if that was a bit rude, but we’re under a bit of pressure.” You tilt your head in confusion. “Why?” The Bureau agent sighs as he keeps tapping his foot anxiously. “Not enough results for the top brass. Especially in this Salvatore case. Hexenkraft crept in under our noses, and we just found out about it.” “And? Counter intelligence is a tough job, y’know.” He nods slowly
>>553303“War Department don’t care. Y’know that big honkin’ sub you found before? War Department wants to board and capture it. To show off their new ‘paranatural’ detachment.” He makes quotation marks in the air.“Majestic. A group for direct action against paranatural threats. They couldn’t tie their own shoes without a guide, and they expect the bozos to replace us? Don’t make me laugh.”Replace you, huh. [x] “It’s nothing to worry about, Majestic’s going to be the one replaced.”[x] “Maybe it is time for a change.”[x] What’d know about them? A replacement for the Bureau, huh? Maybe having a second group around won’t be so bad. They’d take a load off you, and they’d give Hexengrenadiers other people to shoot at at the very least. At worst, they’d give you more work, and if this Bureau Agent is to be believed, then they aren’t very competent. Well, it’s not exactly fair to say that before they’ve made their first mark. Still, it sounds like they’re greener than the grass on a lawn. The Bureau Agent sighs as he massages his temples. “Sooooo, what’s the scoop on these guys? Aside from them being good for nothing morons, of course.” He looks up at you, completely unamused. He shoves the glasses on his face back up roughly. “Supposedly, they’re supposed to take after Hexenkraft themselves.” He makes a sour face as he says the sentence. As if the words were actually bitter on his tongue. “Wait, wait, wait. Take after them? You’re pulling my leg, right?” He shakes his head“Nope, they’re a paramilitary force, with their own guns and everything. Like them Hexenkraft krauts are. Even headhunted Charlie to make some for ‘em.” “But wait, they’re not, y’know. Doing the stuff Hexenkraft does to their guys, right?” “Maybe they’ll take that bright idea from them too. Who knows.” “Are there any magical girl with ‘em?”“Yeah, two. The leader of their ‘Field Operations’, regular American sweetheart, that one. Says she’s ‘just a girl from Iowa who joined because it’s the right thing to do.’ Feh. All propaganda. He says that like the Bureau doesn’t use propaganda too. “And the other?” “A Brit. Some stuck up girl who's got an ego ten times as big as she is. At least she’s honest about it.” Huh, interesting. “Oh, and before I forget. Here.” You hand the letter to him, and he read through the lines intently. “Son of a bitch.”“Well, you’re already knee deep in this mafia business. >>553917>We should totally get medals for saving the country for this, they can't claim secrecy requirements when we've been fighting Nazis in the middle of NYC surelyThey can, because saying 'Nazis in NYC' is gonna cause a mass panic among the populace
You know of two different people who’re a part of this whole mess. Alma and that those Candere leaders who tried to get you to steal Hexenkraft guns for them. You aren’t sure how receptive they’d be to another meeting with you, considering that your last one didn’t end on the best of terms. In fact, you have a feeling that you’re on some kind of list for them. But, Alma might be more willing to cooperate. Now that you’ve saved her and her friend’s life, it’s only fitting that she pay you back, right? It’s how her kind of people work anyways. The Agent shoves the letter into his own pocket, before he turns to someone else, muttering something to his fellow agent. “Looks like Majestic’s going to have to handle the sub, then. While the people who know what they’re doing save the country. Again.” “Right. Anyways, I was hoping to talk to Alma Lucius. I brought her in for protection. Should be easy to get her to talk to us. Easier than the other mobster I’ve met so far.” He nods. “She appeared in the middle of the operations floor of HQ not too long ago. Just poofed in there out of nowhere. Looked pretty banged up, so Asclepius should be helping her.” You nod, looking over at Babs’ unconscious body. You watch as he chest rises and falls slowly. Her breathing’s not getting any better, but it hasn’t stopped yet. Erika keeps a metal hand on the girl’s forehead. It’s odd to see her showing affection for, well, anyone at all. And you have no idea why she picked Babs for that. Josie rubs the side of her face, nursing the small wound Wildfire gave her. Diane examines it closely. “It’s not so bad. It was just a graze.”“But it’ll scar! I’ll look bad when they take photographs of me after we throw these Krauts out of the country!”
>>554151You chuckle at her words. At least she hasn’t lost her enthusiasm after all this. The sun slowly sets as the helicopter hovers through the New York airspace, and you drift off into sleep. The sun gives way to night as you awaken, and are lead down into the operations floor from the roof of the building. Other agents stand on the elevator leading into the bowels of the building with you, some chatting animatedly among themselves. You don’t catch much of it, but what you do hear manages to startle you“...they wanna kill Hitler! Krauts, of all people want to plug their own leader. The war might be over before the month’s done, can you believe that Scully?”“Eh, I dunno, wouldn’t pop the cork on your champagne yet Mulder.”“Oh c’mon, have a little faith.” The pair of Agents speaking leaves before you manage to catch the rest of their conversation. You’re lead to the medical wing of headquarters, and in front of a room that a pair of armed guards are standing in front of. Inside is Alma and Asclepius, who’s having an animated conversation with her patient.“Oh c’mon, the Dodger’ll never win anything! You’re an even bigger dummy for rooting for them than you were for getting involved in this mafia nonsense. You’ll have better luck rooting for the Red Sox, or hell, the Yankees!” Alma scoffs at Asclepius.“Yes, but that negro batter’s something else! Jackie Robinson’s a better hitter than anyone any of those teams can muster up. They’ll win big, trust me on this.” You push the door to the room open, interrupting the conversation between the two. “Oh! Vicky, I, uh. I’m feeling better now, after. That.” Alma seems a bit nervous. “You really gotta talk some sense into this girl. She’s really lost it if she thinks the Dodgers are winning anything.” “Erh, don’t follow football, sorry.” Asclepius is taken aback at your comment.“Hey Alma, did you find anything when you and Rei went on that mission? Maybe some other places for the Salvatores to find” “And?”“Well, it’s a long story.” She winces as she speaks, the bandages on her face make it obvious as to why.“I had a nice ‘chat’ with one of the Salvatore boys, and he told me that there was a hideout in the basement of Saint Lawrence’s. Should never have eaten there. He said that the Krauts usually didn’t like staying there since it was too public a place. So they usually hang out elsewhere.”“Elsewhere being...?”“Purgatory Alley.”[x] Looks like it’s back to Purgatory Alley. [x] Spend the night at Saint Lawrence’s[x] Write in

“The Purgatory Alley that the mafia uses their victims in? That Purgatory Alley?” Alma nods.“The Salvatores are a mafia family, aren’t they? Why wouldn’t their men use that to dispose of bodies. You look out the window of the room. It’s steadily growing darker and darker as the night goes on. You wonder if the time of day affects ghosts, or maybe what kinds of ghosts you’ll find? Maybe you’ll meet that well mannered Kraut again. He was pretty helpful last time, and you really should find him and thank him. Or maybe you’ll find some spooky ghost who’ll drag your soul away and into hell like in those stories your sister liked to read. Knowing your luck, it’ll probably be the latter. “I was hoping you wouldn’t say that. You know what they say about Purgatory Alley, right?” Alma reaches up and cups your cheek in a hand as she giggles. You slap it away once she’s done. It’s not funny. Ghosts are a serious threat and she shouldn’t be laughing at you over that!“Oh come on, Vicky. You’re a big strong magical girl who runs around beating up Nazis and saving stupid girls like me. Are you seriously telling me that you’re afraid of a rumor?” “It’s not a rumor! I met one of the ghosts myself!” Alma raises an eyebrow at you. “Met? But you made it out of there alive, right? So it’s fine.” You aren’t so sure, but there doesn’t seem to be any other option for you right now.“Fine, but if I get stolen away by some nefarious spirit then it’s your fault, okay?” She giggles more as she nods.“Fine, fine. You can blame me. I’ll prepare a eulogy for you too.” That doesn’t make you feel any better. You’re burning moonlight now, and you doubt that the Salvatore and their Hexenkraft friend are going to be waiting for you for you to stomp in and ruin their plans. You leave the room, and let the two girls continue their conversation about baseball or whatever sport it is they were talking about. You meet up with your team again, sans Babs. A small bandage covers the wound on Josie’s face. “Well, looks like we’re headed back to Purgatory Alley, gang.” You can see Diane stiffen as you say that. “Yes, that means more ghosts. But hey, the last time we met wasn’t some kind of soul devouring monster, so there’s nothing to be afraid of Diane!” She doesn’t seem any less afraid of the idea of ghosts than before. The four of you pile into a cab, which speeds down the roads of New York City.“Don’t jinx us, ami! What if those kinds of ghosts only come out when it’s dark?” “Since when were you the expert on ghosts, Diane?”
>>554511“I’m just saying that it pays to be careful!”You arrive at the alley much faster than before, thanks the suspiciously light traffic on the way. You step into the alley, expecting to meet with the Captain from before. Only to find nothing. This place really is creepier after dark. The four of you travel in a pack, watching each other’s back and your surroundings something does catch you by surprise. There’s a door to a cellar, smiliar to the one you saw before. But the wood on this one’s rotted. A wave of cold air hits your face, and you swear you can hear someone say your name. You look around, frantically trying to spot where it came from. “Who’s there?”“I am.”The smoky wisps of mist coalesce into a figure that makes your heart stop. It’s your father. The first time you’ve seen him in god knows how long. He beckons you towards him“Come to me.” His voice is soft, and almost delicate. Very different from what you remember as a kid. [x] Walk up to him. Maybe it really is him[x] It’s a trick, those stories were right. Get ready to fight the ghost[x] Ignore him, get into the cellar.[x] Write in

Actually, gonna call it here for tonight, be back tomorrow
>>554518>[x] Ignore him, get into the cellar.>>554716Nighty night. See you soon.
You’ve done this whole song and dance before. This ghost isn’t as crafty as it seems to think it is. Your dad’s alive and well, and is currently giving the Jap Navy a thrashing of a lifetime. At least that’s what you think’s going on. He writes less often than you do. Who knows, he might have died years ago, or worse, been taken prisoner by them. You shake the feeling. There’s no way that’d happen. Why? Because he’s your dad, dammit and he didn’t spend his life in the military just to get done in by a handful of Japs. The ghost hasn’t disappeared, and he follows you. Maybe you need to be more forceful in how you get your message across to him? You spin on your heel and face him. You have to hand it to him, the ghost might not have gotten his voice quite right, he did nail his facial features. The ghost smiles slightly at you as stare him down. Yeah, your dad wasn’t much of a smiler either. You wonder how the ghost managed to form itself into a form like this. Did it dig into your head while you weren’t paying attention? “Anyone else see this guy?” Diane looks up at you, rapier drawn and ready to skewer anything that might show it’s ugly face. “D-don’t worry Athena, I’ll protect you. Wh-where is he?” The thin strip of silver that makes up her sword’s blade trembles along with her hand. She looks like she’s about to cry. You would have thought that her experience with Ziegler would have eased her mind around ghosts, but apparently not. Her attempts to sound intimidating are completely ruined by her nervousness. “How’re you gonna protect me from something you can’t see. You giggle as she blushes and sheathes her weapon. If this ghost is anything like the previous ghost you’ve encountered, then all you have to do is ignore him and you should be just fine. You head to the cellar, and open it. It yields with a creepy creak, and yet another wave of cold air washes you. The ghost behind you has vanished into mist.“Say, you don’t think they’ve got ghosts down there, do you?” Josie asks as she looks into the yawning darkness below.“I-I’m not afraid, I swear!” Diane says, her voice quite high pitched as she does so. Well, once more unto the breach. You step down into the icy cold basement. It’s pitch black, but Josie’s got a solution for you. She transforms, and her fist illuminates the place. The wispy forms of faces surround you, and Diane screams at the top of her lungs. You guess that answers her question. The faces generate bodies, and their hands make weapons. The six ghosts surround you. Some of the have bullet holes clean through their heads. Others have lines across their necks. Looks like theses are the victims of the mobs. Unlike the other ghosts, they’re completely silent. The dead people watch you as you make your way into the basement,. The milky orbs of their eyes regard every single step you take. This place reminds you a lot of the Babylonian Mausoleum. Except with fewer zombies, thankfully. Diane’s rapier glows faintly in the light of Josie’s fist. The magical girl gets almost uncomfortably close to her friend’s face. A smug smirk forms on Josie’s face. She pokes Diane's cheek, her finger comes away from it moist. “Are you crying?” Diane smacks the hand away, causing Josie to burst into laughter at the French magical girl’s expense. “N-no! Of course not, I’m not a child!” Diane snaps angrily, straightening out her dress as she does her best to conceal her unadulterated fear at being here. Maybe it wasn’t such a bright idea to bring someone with a ghost phobia with you here. “Don’t worry! You’ve got be to handle them for you!” Josie skips further down into the basement, finally stopping at a door. Which she breaks down with a single swift kick. The sound of her strike echos throughout the chamber. All the ghosts stare at her. “I don’t think the dead like being woken up here. Need their beauty sleep.” You whisper to her, she doesn’t respond as the four of you rush into the hallway the door once blocked. You’d do anything to be out of that room. At least there’s light here, and you don’t have to rely on Josie’s magic to see in front of your feet. Josie slams the door shut behind you You eat your words when you spot the characteristic glow of anti magic rounds laid out on a workbench. More of those ‘runestones’ are also on the bench. A pair of pitch black fedora clad men work on the weapons laid out on the bench. There’s a fork in the hall, the other hall being guarded by a pair of Hexengrenadiers. And one of those heavy infantrymen the Hexenkraft have rolled out. Hexentruppen you think they’re called?[x] Go after the mafia men[x] Go after the Hexenkraft troops[x] Write in

>>559887>[x] Go after the mafia men
The Hexenkraft stand at attention around the door, hardly moving at all. They remind you of the statues they have at that new wax museum they have in the city. They’re equipped with bigger guns than the average Hexengrenadier grunt. It looks like they really don’t want people finding out what’s behind that door. Erika peeks out from behind you and takes a look at the Hexenkraft team defending the door, unhindered by the dimness of the corridor you’re all in. You can spot her eyes go wide.“MG42s. No bipods either.” “I take it we don’t want to tango with them.” “Those are ordinarily squad support weapons. With crews. That should say enough about them.” So you’ll take that as a no. Knowing Hexenkraft, they’re probably also packing anti magic rounds too. Not to mention the laser rifle armed and heavily armored Hexentruppen among them. It makes for a quite a formidable team, even for a full team of four magical girls. “Maybe we can come back for them later? Those mafia boys don’t seem to be expecting a visit.” Josie points out. They’re still screwing around with their weapons. The four of you use the dim light of the hallway to your advantage. There’s four of them, equipped with a variety of contraband weapons. You’re almost upon them when one of the glances down the hallways, arching an eyebrow.“Hey, you see that?” One of them shoves the anti magic round filled magazine into his sub machine gun.“Go check it out, ain’t nobody’s supposed to be in here. Especially not after that room with all the spooks in it. We'll be right behind you.” The first mafia soldier nods, and the rest of the team follows him down the hallway. He’s getting uncomfortably close to you. You need a way to get rid of them, and quick. [x] You’ve still got a couple of charges in your laser pistol. Use that on them[x] Go loud, and get rid of them[x] Save your Hush Puppy charges for now, handle them quietly[x] Write in
>>560191>[x] Save your Hush Puppy charges for now, handle them quietly
>>560191> save your hush puppy and ninja themI'm sure Diane can stealthily skewer some of them
Your hand rests on the Hush Puppy that you’ve hidden in your outfit. If these guys are anything like the ones in the Salvatores then the laser pistol will make short work of them and their Hexenkraft masters. But, according to the little display on the side of the weapon, you’ve only got four shots with it left. And you have no idea what’s in store for you on the other side of the door here. So it’d be better to save your shots for what you actually need them. It’s not like you don’t have any way to handle them without that doesn’t cause a fuss. You try to keep as still as possible in your little hiding spot, away from the light. You hold your breath as the team of mobsters approaches you steadily. The lead one holds a runestone in his free hand, while the other has a Thompson in it. His stone crackles and burns with flames, which lick out into the air around it. You point frantically at them, trying to express your intentions to Josie and Diane without saying anything. This only causes Josie to tilt her head to a side in confusion. “Oh, I get it!” Josie speaks up voice echoing throughout the hallway that you’re in, you only hope that the Hexane Kraft team didn’t hear anything. “What the- Boss they’re here!” One of the mafia soldiers shots a warning to his comrades, and they level their weapons with you, ready to spray the entire hallway down with anti magic rounds. That would be very, very bad. Josie seems to think so too, and she kicks one of their MPs out of his hands. It lands in her hands, and she tears the magazine out if it, before shoving it back into his hands with a smile. The man has a completely dumbfounded expression on his face. That is, until Josie slams it into the wall next to him. Another turns to face the boxing champ, only for his face to meet with her elbow before he can even think of pulling something on her. “Keep quiet! It’s like you want the whole town to know we’re here!” Diane hisses as she sizes up her opponent. He draws a pistol, finger about to squeeze the trigger, before he suddenly finds Diane’s blade through his throat and her hand around his mouth. A vicious snarl on her face as she turns to the leader of the team. He looks you all over, and raises his hands in surrender, dropping both his runestone and his weapons.
>>560492“They don’t pay me well enough to screw around with this crap.” he makes a mad dash for the exit. Diane’s about to go after him.“Let the ghosts sort him out, Diane.” That’s all you have to say to keep her from going on.The door’s completely vulnerable to you, and Josie kick it open. To reveal another office. With all the documents and unmentionables that these goons pulled from the Salvatore building. There’s another metal door to the left of you, that’s locked tight. At the end of the room, there’s a single desk and a chair that’s turned to face away from you. You can see legs hanging from it.[x] Take a look at the documents, they might have some important stuff in them[x] Say hi to the person sitting in the chair.[x] Write

The team spreads out throughout the room, examining their surroundings intently. The room looks more appropriate for the Salvatore building. It’s almost as if they took an office out of the building and just shoved it into the basement. It’s almost painfully bright in here compared to the dank, dark halls outside of the room. The chair catches your attention, it’s obvious that someone’s sitting in it. Whoever it is, they haven’t greeted you once you arrived. That’s pretty rude, but it is a welcome change of pace since you started on this mission. You creep closer to the chair. Still nothing. You keep your hand on the Hush Puppy’s grip, ready to put a laser beam in their head in case they try anything funny. You spin the chair around, and it creaks slowly, and you come face to face with another girl, with short red hair like yours. A grimace is written on her face, and she glares up at you. “You.” She growls at you, grip tightening on the bottle of liquor in her left hand. You step away from her, trying to get the most distance with her. She doesn’t look to be in the best condition, mentally or physically. The veins in her face are clearly visible, and she rises from her seat, she’s up in your face, the smell of liquor heavy on her breath. Her eyes have a milky tone to them. Deep black bags hang are under her eyes. She’s almost as pale as Babs.“You’re the one might ruin me.” You keep backing off from the girl, who keeps walking towards you. “I don’t follow. You’re Enrico?” She reaches into her shirt, and pulls something out of it. She swigs from her bottle of whiskey, apparently unaffected by the burning alcohol. You instantly recognize it. It’s one of the spiritstones. From ancient Mesopotamia. It glows a faint dull yellow. “I need this. And they’re the only ones who have them. Leave. Now.” “But-”“NOW”[x] “I’ve come too far to just leave now.”[x] “Alright, but you’re coming with me.”[x] Write in

>>560772>[x] “I’ve come too far to just leave now.”M-Maybe some clarifications? How does she know about you and maybe you can help her in her ... quest.
The girl stands her ground in front of you. The team crowds around you, just waiting for her try something. Anything at all that’ll justify them beating the girl to a pulp. She’s plenty suspicious now. She might not have outright admitted it, but you’re pretty sure that she’s Enrico Salvatore. Not a whole lot of this makes sense. Enrico’s a male name, right? And how has a girl like her managed to get and stay in control of one of the biggest mafia families in the country? You aren’t sure if she’ll answer these questions out of the cell. She shoves the spiritstone back into her shirt.“I’ve spent practically my entire vacation looking for you’ Enrico’. I’m not going to let you slip through my fingers.” She drinks from her bottle again, swishing the drink in her mouth before swallowing it. “Well, that’s a problem then. Unless you can find me more of these. One doesn’t seem to cut it for more than a few years.” So she needs a spiritstone to keep herself alive? Does that mean she’s a magical girl? “Is that what you meant by eternal life? You really want to get stuck paying those Krauts for the rest of your immortal life?” She chuckles. “Wouldn’t you? Death doesn’t interest me.” That’s a bizarre way to view things. The soft rapping a fist against the metal door echos through the room.“Your competition here. I have an appointment to kee.”[x] “Wait! I work for people who can get you those gems!”[x] “No deal, sorry. You signed your own death warrant when you decided to work with those Krauts.”[x] Write in

>>560912Whe have secured some ancient artifacts ard recognize spiritstones, we took control of that site from the krauts (IIRC). But really we don't know if we can give her what she needs if she doesn't talk to our people about it. Bit of a long shot since she seems to know who we work for already "Your competition [is] here" but Victory likes to talk people down when they haven't actively screwed her over.
>>560913Thanks for running.I have two main issues.1: You have a habit of dropping the ends of sentences and other things e.g. >"I have an appointment to kee."Nobody's going to notice if you take an extra five minutes to proofread that kind of shit out, but everyone can see half of a sentence going missing like the USS Eldridge.2: My lust for Erika is insatiable, and I blame you.
