Looking for a journey through a strange land filled with monster girls and magic? Well, you came to the right place! This quest has an emphasis on world building, character-driven narrative, social interactions and combat.

Averagely I post from 6pm to ~10pm PST on weekdays and weekends are determined by my schedule. I am currently working on an overall summary for new lurkers/aspiring players.

Last time you, Akitani and Rozalin, a bicorn, and Wilsa the daughter of a dragon went to retrieve the malicious sun orb from a monstrous creature called Azrazzor. After being hunted by goblins and accidently staying in a literal ghost town you made your way to its lair. The Tower of Spite. You managed to get past the towers defenses and sentries but were not able to talk your way out of combat with Azrazzor. After defeating Azrazzor you all headed back to the witch Yaga where the rest of your friends were at. After talking with Yaga you reunited with your friends and decided to keep the Sun Orb in your care. Though you want to destroy it. You began your journey once again with the three new members of your entourage but were stopped by Harpies who were told to take you to their Queen. These harpies don’t seem the brightest but they wanted you to check on the goblin people in the grey mountains past the Great Aizu River. You were in the middle of questioning the Queen, but you think now you have made a decision on what to do.
>>
>>441442

You decide that helping these harpies might be the right thing to do. Also traversing and learning about both the great river and the grey mountains would be more experience of this world under your belt. “Okay, Queen Kanon we will check these mountains for you.” She seems quite happy, “Wonderful, you best not delay, I grow more concerned for their wellbeing as time goes on.” You all quickly leave the audience hall. Victoria sighs “Great, here we go again,” “Don’t be like that...” you say “It will be a nice change of pace from the chickens.” You hear Adrian from behind you, “Praise the lord!”

You were going to leave the village as the queen requested this to be done post haste but you were stopped by the harpy who was sent to find you. Melo, you think her name was. “Hello, ” she says. “Hi,” and then like the queen there was an awkward pause. “Soooooooo...” She suddenly remembers something, “Right!" The queen forgot that you needed someone to show you the way and help you find the entrance in the mountains.” Oh no. “So she sent me to help.” Oh god no. “That is quite alright ms. Melo, we can find our way just fine.” “No, you can’t! I was sent by the Queen personally, and I will not ignore her wishes.” Well her wishes are exactly unnecessary, but it seems this stubborn bird regardless, isn’t going anywhere but with you. She puts her wing to her mouth, “Oh, I forgot. My name is Melo, nice to meet you all.” “I know, I literally just called you that.” “You did?” Oh, this is gonna be quite the trip.

You can now count a birdbrain in your already colorful entourage. You take a minute to take that fact in. You had your three friends, a Basilisk, a bicron, two demons and now a harpy. Oh, and Adrian. Man, you hope things won’t get any larger than this. It might make things tricky to deal with if you suddenly have 15 people walking behind you at all times. Oh well, might as well make your way to the mountains, You just noticed that your guide has disappeared while you were lost in thought. “Wait, where did she go?” “Where did who go?” you heard Melo say behind you. “You! Why are you behind me?” “Following you to the mountains of course.” “Aren’t you supposed to be OUR guide?” “Oh yeah….” She flies in front of you and points at the distant mountains, “This way everyone!” You certainly can’t handle any more companions like her, or else it might drive you insane.

While traveling you seem to come across what looks to be a broken caravan cart of some sort. Looks to be looted and had all its valuable parts stripped. You take a second to look at it, before walking closer. You think there might be more to this cart than it seems. “C’mon people we need to get to the grey mountains!” Melo encourages, but you largely ignore her.

You find what looks to be a journal of some sort. Looters have no reason for taking something like this and they must have left it. You open the journal and you see a bunch of trade statistics poorly written over many pages. It looks like this journal was from the goblin traders to the Harpy village! You flip through the journal looking for anything that isn't statistics and near the end, you find a small passage.

"Things ain't right back home, seems like the newcomers are stirring trouble. something about da boss or some shit. Those people in the north are crazy. I better get back home fast so I can make a paycheck before things go real south."

"Hmmm," you examine the passage. Looks like you have your first clues at what happened. But much of this puzzle remains. You stand up, "Sorry about that Melo, we can continue now." "And we better!" She seems awfully enthusiastic, if not in a hurry herself.

As you continue the sun slowly begins to set as you approach the Great Aizu River. It was quite great. It was huge for a river spanning maybe some miles in width.

"Alright everyone now we just got to fly over the river and-" "We can't fly Melo." "You can't?!" "How are we gonna cross?" The river wasn't running fast, maybe you could swim? make a raft? or have Melo carry all of you over one by one. You think of your options but you feel a tug on your shoulder. "Isn't it getting late?" Anna says. "Yeah, but...." "But we need to get there soon!" Melo pleads. hmmm.

>Camp for now
>Head over the river (how?)

If you decide to camp still come up with a river strategy in the morning.
>>
>>441656
Let us camp for now and try to get some info on the river. Try to make some guess to how fast it is going. See how deep it is. How easy it is to swim in the river. Stuff like that. Also start to look around us. For logs and stuff if we want to make a raft. Also to see if there are calmer/shallower patches of the river or shorter paths across the river.
>>
>>441693
supporting but if it's miles in width swimming really isn't an option and even carrying one across at a time will take a long time, unless we can find a much narrower portion of river we are going to have to raft this. Unless you want to get "God as my witness" javelin tossed across this and hope to get caught on the other side. But we've dealt being a cripple before so nothing new there
>>
>>441714
Did not see the miles thing. No update to plan though. Just more intention to use a raft.
>>
"Guys lets camp for the night and think over how we are going to cross." Melo is upset, "But the Queen said we need to get there fast," "We will Melo, but crossing such a wide river is not an easy feat, we will probably need to build a raft of some kind." you yawn and stretch. "Though, for now, it's probably best to rest and be prepared in the morning. We have no idea what will be waiting for us." Not to mention that journal passage you found troubles you. "But!" "Melo, if we do not return to Queen Kanon with news we fail regardless, we want to be safe." You try to reason with her, but you aren't too sure she understands. She sighs, "Okay...." Holy crap she got it.

"Alright for now we will rest but tomorrow we will decide on how to cross the river." "Got it," you party collectively says.

So what to do in camp tonight.

You sit in camp thinking of just what to do. You look over your new party who were all sitting around a campfire discussing the raft you hope. Though Adrian's face tells you that Rozalin is probably making fun of him again. Melo seems to be joining in on the fun and this lead to a huge argument between the two. Adrian should win, but he has surprised you before.

You do notice that one of them is off by themselves, though. “Aki?” You head on over to where the Basalisk lay. She notices you, “Ohh you’re just in time.” “In time for what?” “I am going to practice with the mask off.” Ahh, so that is why she is away from others. Aki has a tendency to fall into crazed lust upon direct sight of men, it's how you first "connected" actually. You talked about practicing without the mask before but now it seems like she is determined to do it. “It’s okay Aki, I know you can do it.” “If you say so…” She reachers up and slowly takes off her mask. She opens her almost neon yellow eyes and begins to search the camp for her target dummy. Adrian. He was the only biological man in your group so it only made sense to use him.

You hear heavy breathing, “Hahh, Hahhh” Aki is holding herself as she looks at Adrian. She fidgets around , “Mnnnnn, mmnnnn” You encourage her and try to calm her down, “It’s okay Aki, You can do it. Just breathe deeply and relax you head. Clear it of all thoughts of lust.” Aki begins to breathe deeply. Her flush face seems to be turning lighter and cooling down and her body is fidgeting less and less. Drool started to fall from her mouth so she bit her lip to try and stop it forcefully. “C’mon Aki!” “Nnnnnhhhhhmmmh” She gives out a final whine before her shoulders relax. She is drenched in sweat but it looks like she resisted her urge.

“Good job Aki! I think the more you practice the easier it will become to control yourself. She pants with her her head hung low, “Yeah… It should get easier….with time, but for now…. would you mind doing me a favor…..” “Anything Aki, if you want me to help you control yourse-” Your sentence was cut off by Aki’s lips. “Mnnhh?!” You were confused. She coils around you in lightning speed. “Mnnnhhh, mhhhng” She pants as she continues her assault. Her tongue begins to invade your mouth, “mmmhh?!!” It seems Aki’s lust was contained but what remained got pointed directly at you. “Aki…. Sto-” She doesn’t let you speak. She begins to constrict. She pants, “Just… a bit… more….” She is making loud slurping and licking noises as she begins to move her mouth from yours to your neck. She whispers to herself, “More…. more….. more...” You start to kick around, you know she will just constrict more but maybe she will notice. “Aki, please come to your senses!” “More… more… mor-” you manage to move your head in such a way that lightly taps hers. “Wait… what is…” She grabs her head as she seems to be coming to. She looks down, at what position you two were in. “Not again!” She uncoils as fast as he could and slithers away even faster, “Aki!” you call out to her but she ran back through a nearby patch of woods and is well beyond your vision.

You need to go after her. “Knnch” You legs still hurt a bit but you power through it and run after her as fast as your current legs can take you. You push through trees and branches all the while yelling out for her, “Aki! Aki come back, I’m not mad.” There is no response, and you keep going forward. Eventually, you start hearing whimpers of some kind. You hone in and increase your speed in their direction. “Aki!”

After a moment you come to a clearing in the woods. Aki is at its center with her torso hunched over the ground. “Aki…” You start to walk up behind her. She slams her claw into the ground, “DAMNIT!” *sniff* “Why… every time… every damn time!” she punches the ground again. She hasn’t seemed to notice you despite your yelling. You continue to slowly walk up behind her. She continues crying, *sniff* I finally found someone… and I... blow it every time! All I wanted was to do better, to be better, to be with her, but…” She looks at the mask she disdains that she kept in her hands. “Why can’t I live... without the mask…” “aaahhhhh” it seems her crying is transitioning to sobbing. “Aki” you say in a low voice, as you get right behind her. She finally notices you and begins to turn her body to face you. You catch her mid turn though with an embrace from behind. You were still much smaller than her so you wrapped your arms around her neck and shoulders. “Aki it’s okay…” “No… it’s not..” *sniff* “I’ll never be able to control myself, I’ll always be a slave to… this.” She holds up her mask. “Aki you know that isn’t true” “IT IS!” she throws the mask on the ground in front of her.” “Without it, I am a danger to not just others but you.” *sniff* “Aki, no one is a slave to their desires.” “Easy for you to say! You don’t have to deal with… this.” “All people are affected by them emotions Aki, and all people can change. Remember Baeloric, who was once a slave to a trinket that made him feel insatiable anger and crave destruction?” “That’s different… for him it was an item, I was born with mine.” “You are making excuses Aki,” you bring your hand to her face. “Aki, I know you will win over this, you won’t need that mask, and I will always believe that. Even if you don’t.”

*sniff* “How can you say that in the face of everything I put you through?” “Because Aki I…

(So what monster girl would you guys like to be? I think a phoenix girl or a dragon would be cool. Also we really should train our water magic if we plan to go to arid seas, detecting and or summoning water would be useful.)
>>
>>442143
Staying Human is a good idea. What with the whole trying to fix the Material plane stuff. But If we had to choose why not Imp or demon. They can go invisible and stuff.
Also yeah. We should really train our magic. Make things out of bones. Become a dread Necromancer.

Don't forget overthrowing Mother.

Imps seem to have a weak body and demon would mean becoming evil and or losing our soul. This isn't Demon Lord Quest.

Also unless we get something like, the Dragon Balls reviving our parents would be a very bad idea.
>>
>>442250
Yes but that comes later. After existence is less threatened.
>>
>>442264
What. Raising parents is a great idea. It makes them alive and totally not mindless zombies who are nothing more than the Husk of what we remembered. Yep everything is fine.

You're implying that perfect necromancy isn't possible.

“Because Aki, I…” You need to pick your words carefully, but you already feel what you need to say. “Because Aki, I love you.” Tears in her eyes she looks up at you. You meet her with a kiss. It was as if the world stopped at that moment.you forgot about your journey, your worries and even your friends. Instead, you focused solely on the woman you loved. There was no aggressiveness to this kiss on either end. Just a sweet moment you two shared. You slowly pull away from the kiss. “No matter what happens Aki, I will always be there for you, nothing could ever change that.” Aki turns her body to where she is facing you properly. She then wraps her arms around you and hugs you close, before she properly meets your feelings. “I never ever want to hurt you, and I am far from proper mental fortitude, but…. I love you. You make me want to be better, you make me want to do better and I have never felt that before. I love you more than you can imagine, but…” She wipes away her tears with her sleeve. “I’m afraid, I don’t want this to keep happening, I don’t want to be like this forever. I’m afraid that the current me isn’t right for you.” “How can you say that Aki?” How can I ever dislike who you are? No matter who you are or who you want to be, Aki is still Aki and I will always love you for who you are or who you become.” “She blushes and continues to wipe away her tears. “Thank you, and… I’m sorry for what happened.” “It’s okay Aki, that is just another part of the Aki that I love.”

You two stay there for quite some time embracing each other and taking comfort in each other. You two make your way back to the camp hand in hand. Everyone is asleep by the time you return. You should follow their example and make off to dreamland. You move to set up your sleeping area but Aki pulls on your hand. “Ummmm, do you want too….” Seems she doesn’t want you to leave her alone tonight. She blushes, you can’t seem to win against that face. “Alright,” you resign. Aki wags her tail around happily. You lay down with Aki near her sleeping area. She coils around you and you share each others warmth. You fall asleep shortly in the woman you love’s embrace.

The morning will come and you will have to organize yourselves for a rafting, or whatever your party came up with while you were taking care of more important things. For now, though you have one of the best nights of sleep you have ever had.

To be continued.

I am sorry that we did not progress too far today, but these Aki scenes were a pleasure to write and I hope you enjoyed them as much as I liked writing them. I will make the level up post after this, but the next update won’t come until tomorrow at the normal time of

The morning came much faster than you expected it to. You wake up exactly where you fell asleep, in Aki’s arms. She is still knocked out, though. It's pretty hard to move with her wrapped around you, but you start to worm your way out. It’s a good thin Aki is a heavy sleeper, you slip out without bothering her. You rise up and stretch when you hear a voice. “So how was it?” You turn to face it. Rozalin was standing next to a tent. You don’t want to deal with her antics in the morning so you try to just brush her off, “It’s not what you think, besides we need to focus on the river problem.” “My, changing the subject, are we? It must have been really embarrassing as it was your first time,” Despite you best efforts she still tries to test you,“Whatever, where are the others? By the river, Anna said she came up with a way to cross the river. ” Oh?

You and Rozalin head down to the river, she insists you ride her, but you don’t need nor do you want too after her teasing. There you the rest of your group standing on the edge of the river next to a couple logs. You approach, “Whats going on?” “We are building a raft, Anna replies, “That was the solution we came up with while you were off fooling around with Akitani.” You blush a bit. When Rozalin teases you it is just her nature, but one of your friends back home was a different story. Melo sighs, “I still don’t see how this will help us fly over the river, you aren’t even making wings.” Victoria answers, “That's because this is a boat you idiot, we don’t need to fly when we can sail.” “Sale? What’s for sale.” “Your wings, after I’m through with you…” Better get back on topic. “Anyways, we should get this sorted out.” Anna responds, “Ohh I already got it mostly taken care of.” “You do? How?” “I materialized most of the important parts of the raft, a sail, mast, and oars for everyone. We just needed some extra wood.” “You made all that?” “Yes, for some reason after staying with Yaga I feel stronger. Maybe it was in the chickens.” “Heh” “Well that’s great I’ll grab Aki and we can head out shortly.”

You go to wake up Aki, “C’mon Aki get up, we can cross the river, we are just waiting for you,” You shake her and you slowly increase the speed as she proves almost entirely unresponsive. After a minute or so of intense shaking she wakes up, “Good morning,” she says and then kisses you lightly. Seems she is still high off of what happened last night despite the sleep. You two make your way to the raft where they are putting the finishing touches on the “boat” as Yuki tried to explain to Melo.

You will now sail a river, roll 2 d20

A little adventuring here a little magic there a little trapped in a plane of existence that isn't our own

Cute monster grills?

Lewd?
Starting to creep into that territory

Unimaginably and horribly dark?
Well the start of the quest was our parents getting murdered by vampires and us getting kidnapped so I'd say has the potential to go darker

With the help of everyone you get the beached raft into the water and begin your sail across the river, hopefully, it wouldn’t take long but it seems your raft is getting off to a rickety start. It seems some of the rope you used to bind the logs started to rub and break.“Victoria hold those logs in place!” She lunges at the logs and holds them as best she can, Anna manifests some new rope but It seems Victoria will need to hang on there for the rest of the time. Thankfully though you didn’t run into any trouble. You seem to have gotten more of a knack for the water magic Queen Umina taught you and you used it to propel yourselves even faster across the river, though at the expense of some clothes that were getting wet. Oh well.

You make it over to the other side in about 10-15 minutes almost perfectly. “Finally, you guys got here.” “Melo, you were with us the whole time” “But I was flying so it’s different.” “I guess…” arguing with her is wasted effort. You here Aki tell you,” do you maybe want to cover up?” she blushes. What is she talking about, you look down and your clothes are almost completely see-through after that water magic you casted. “Ahhh!” you try to hide body and run over behind a nearby rock to dry out your clothes. While taking them off though you notice that your body seems to be a bit different than it was. Your baggy clothes don’t do your body justice as you seem to be getting… curvier? It seems your chest and hips are becoming more pronounced. Not to mention your face feels softer. You had no idea what was causing this. It is like your body is just maturing rapidly and getting older. Oh well, no one should notice as long as you keep wearing your comfortable baggy clothes.

Once you finished you met back up with your team, “Sorry about that.” “No problem,” Aki says still blushing. You now gaze at the grey mountains as Melo guides you to hopefully the entrance to the goblin kingdom. Though you wouldn’t put it past her to fly into one of the mountains instead.

While traveling to the mountains you spot what looks like a village in the distance, with smoke rising from it. It may be an industrial village since the goblins are known miners and likely smithers. Could be a harmless barbeque, or maybe the place is on fire. You can’t tell anything beyond that, though. Melo addresses everyone, “Alright everyone, just a little further and we are at the entrance, don’t get lost now.” You were more concerned she got lost, but you look back at what you think is a village. “Wait, everyone, there is a village in this direction I think.” Melo seems upset, “And what does that have to do with our quest to the goblins?” “If it's a nearby village maybe there are clues as to what happened, like with that caravan journal we found.” Your friends nod in agreement but Melo doesn’t seem to get it. She scratches her head. “Melo I promise after this we will head straight for the mountains, but we could be walking into danger. It’s best to scout as best we can.” She tilts her head. “Alright, we’re going to the village.” You all turn to leave and Melo yells “Where are you going?” ugghhhh.

The village was close by thankfully and you as you got closer you noticed the smoke was rising from most of the village. Likely a fire. You tell people to be on the defensive just in case as you get closer.

You sneak up on the voices and as you near you hear more of a conversation unfold. “-Da boss is weird havin us destroy dese others.” “Da boss does what he wants, we just gotta follow orders.” “yeah, yeah, just help me find the rest of their gits to take.” You continue to silently move up and you start to here even more chattering. There are a bunch of goblins running about. At least 30 were armed and maybe 100 or so were unarmed and tied up in the center. On closer inspection the goblins in the center are seated on wood and grass and they seem to be panicking.

You need to do something. You raise some of the dead to fight for you, You need to question some of the goblins though so it would be best to avoid killing them. You summon 7 shambling skeletons to move forward. Rozalin kneels down for you to mount her. In combat having a steed is incredibly helpful so you jump on. Also, the fluff of her back is quite the bonus. You spring a trap with all of your forces combined. You charge in first with Rozalin followed by your skeletons. Aki and Victoria soon follow while Anna and Yuki cover the back. Your surprise attack was fairly successful. Goblins aren’t that strong nor are they smart. You are able to take out almost 10 of them before they reform. “Oi whatses going on over here?” You look to meet the goblin whose voice you just heard. “He was in the far back of the group and armed with a crossbow. “You?!” he shouts. You almost shouted that back, but you were too focused on the task at hand.

The crossbow goblin spits, “Whateva just get der gits!” He and 6 other goblins raise their crossbows, aim, and fire.

For the most part, the bolts whizz past you all, but it seems your old friend is still rather mad at you. He nails you dead in the chest with a bolt which had enough power in it to knock you off Rozalin. “Oh no!” Rozalin turns to help you up but you needed help from a healer, not her. Plus a battle was currently going on with 20 goblins remaining. “Ahhh!” Yuki was about to be tagged by a bolt but one of your skeletons managed to block the shot at her. Aki and Victoria were focusing on the front lines which you were getting peppered by bolts. Adrian seemed to behind everyone, he knew the basics of combat but he clearly didn’t feel comfortable. You get a good grasp on your situation or at least the best you can from your position. You can’t move but you can channel your magic. You raise 10 more skeletons to make 16 You instruct them to fight as shields for you and your allies. With a large safety net in place, Aki focuses on the back line of goblin archers about half of them seem to be confused about their situation and drop their weapons. “Ahhhh,” Aki grabs her head in pain. Seems like that is all she can do at the moment. Victoria falls back to Anna, “Anna! Spears!” “You don’t have to ask.” Victoria winds both her hands back as Anna manifests spear after spear and turns Victoria into a turret. Their combination alone took out 8 of goblins. Adrian runs up to you and pulls you away from the fight as Rozalin tries to fend off attackers with the skeletons. He is unusually fast about this and Yuki sprints over immediately to heal your bolt wound. “You’ll be okay just rest a bit,” Yuki says. Adrian declares, “Don’t worry leader I’ll hold them off for now!” You didn’t know how effective he would be but if anything he has enthusiasm.

Adrian singles out a goblin in melee and begins a duel. The goblin thrusts wildly and Adrian dodges his attacks with minor effort. What he wasn’t paying attention to was your old friend honing in on him during his melee. The goblin shoots a bolt at him in Adrian’s blind spot, but without looking he ducks and the bolt hits the goblin straight in the head. “I did it? But what was that….” He is excited but at the same time confused. “How did I…” he gets lost in thought but as another attack came out him seemingly unaware he dodged with ease and even tripped the attacker. You’re surprised at his reflexes. He seems surprised too, “What am I doing…” Adrian begins a mad dance through the enemies, none of them seem to be able to hit him and he is slowly eliminating them. All in all, he takes about 4 down.

the 4 crossbowmen in the back unleash another volley and the 4 remaining melee goblins swing desperately.

rolling for goblins 8d20

The volley completely misses its mark after all that confusion. The melee fighters in their desperation do manage to hit Aki and some even reach Victoria and Anna. But they don’t seem to be complaining any.

You have 16 protection skeletons and there are 8 goblins left. Victory is closer in sight, but you are still unable to move and after raising those extra undead you don’t think you have the energy to do much. Yuki managed to heal you up though so you don’t have to worry about damage. Anna, Victoria, and Aki are locked in melee combat.

>>
>>445064

Aki puts her claws to metal this time and she seems to be quite good at it. Making short work of the goblin to attacked her. Victoria and Anna’s rain of spears continues. Victoria and Anna get backed up by some of your skeletons. They seem to distract the goblins enough to where Victoria and Anna combined took care of them easily. Adrian’s almost mad dance through the field was incredible to watch. Absolutely nothing hit him. He was even in the ark of Victoria’s spear throws at one point but he simply slid to the side and dodged without even looking. Where did he learn all this? He managed to trip up some of them while doing so. Incapacitating two of them. Yuki ran to patch up any she could, but it was largely unnecessary as everyone was generally okay. Not to mention you still had a dozen or so skeletons to defend you.

With most of his allies dead or incapacitated the old crossbow goblin dropped his weapon and raised his hands in the air. He then simply said, “so seems like we doin’ dis again.” “Indeed you were. About 5 of his comrades were still alive and you still had all of the tied up goblins at the scene.
You had a lot of things to get sorted and a lot of questions to ask.

Let's ask what the hell his boss wanted this time.
>>
>>445101
"What the hell does your boss wants with these globins?"
>>
>>445101
Have some people start freeing the tied up goblins and start tying up these new goblins. And have some people take all the crossbows and bolts, we could use some ranged weapons.
We should go up to the Old Goblin, ask him his name, how he got out from the Ghost town, how he has been doing. You know some small talk to start out. Then start with some basic interrogation. What are you doing here, why did you come here, who the hell is your boss, why are you causing havoc in towns. That sort of thing.
>>
>>445118
Their head will literally explode if they tell us something their boss doesn't, want them to. Hence why having many of them to interrogate is kind of pointless.
>>
>>445122
Well we have bunch now so this discussion on how many to keep is now pointless.
>>
>>445125
Let's ask why he works for someone that can literally make his head explode any time he wants.
>>
>>445127
It is probably slavery and so on. But it is a good question to ask. Yes let us add that to the interrogation pile.
>>
>>445132
If it's slavery let's guilt trip him for trying to slave globins. Call him a traitor to his own species.
>>
>>445133
That is getting a little to cruel. We aren't monsters, Inhumane, you know none of these work any more. Because we have meet monster who have turned out nice. And there is a lot of non-humans. We aren't bad people. That should work. Yes we are not bad people so calling someone a species traitor is kind of not what we do.
>>
>>445137
Since slavery seems common here, we could at least ask in a semi innocent way, as we are only twelve, why someone would betray their old kind to serve a cruel master.
>>
>>445139
I mean asking it in a semi innocent was is preferred. But one the question of why someone would betray their own kind. Well you have some reading. I suggest looking up stuff about the African Slave trade. Along with some stuff about the rise of Fascist Germany.
>>
>>445142
And we are twelve and his master could blow up his head at any moment. Stay in character please.
>>
>>445145
You asked why someone would betray their kind. I gave some reading to do if you didn't know why people would betray their own kind.

The MC probably doesn't know why someone would betray their own kind if that is what you meant.
>>
>>445150
In Africa it was somewhat similar to the micado the Aztecs had, the slavery was not as cruel as the white men made it and slaves could be traded or rescued. People weren't born from slaves to be slaves as that simply wasn't possible.

But just like with the micado the white men made it worse than the natives had seen it before.

Modern Germany was only 50 years old by the time of the first world war and they were tired of having a history of always being invaded and abused by foreigners.

Facism can also be blamed as the facf they decided to make Germany the big loser of the World War.

Also the extermination of non arians can be blamed to what certain empire did to the Armenios during the first world war. They thought that if someone could get away with exterminating the Armenios they could do the same with the Jewish and the resf of the trash.

You check on your friends first before asking questions. “Is everyone okay?” “Minor injuries but nothing compared to what you took,” Victoria responded. “Thanks to Yuki I was healed incredibly quickly. She must be getting really good at her holy magic." Yuki blushed, “Well I just try to practice whenever I can. Taking care of all of you is quite extraneous.” Adrian walks up to you guys. “Guys, I don’t know how it happened but I could-” Suddenly, one of the defeated goblins tries to reach up with his weapon and stab Yuki from underneath her. There was no way she could have seen it coming, but Adrian quickly moved Yuki out of the way and kicked the goblins face in. “Thanks, Adrian but how did you know?” Yuki asks. “I just... saw it. Like right before it happened I saw it happening.” He grabs his head. “I don’t get it.” It seems he has unlocked…. Something within himself. Time will tell exactly what is is and how useful it may be.

With that out of the way you tie up the remaining aggressive goblins and start asking questions. “First off what did your boss want this time?” He shakes his head. Seems like he doesn’t want to explode like his friend did earlier. No matter, you’ll just have to ask vague questions. “So what’s your name?” He seems confused by your question, but he answers regardless, “Gurtag,” then he says nothing more. “Alright Gurtag, how did you get out of that ghost town. “Well for a bit dey seemed rather upset and tried ta kill me, but the sun came up too fast for them, and once da sun is up they can’ts do much.” “Interesting… So why were you here exactly?” “Da boss said to come here and attack dis village.” “And who is this “boss”?” He shakes his head. That didn’t work. “So you remember back when your friend exploded try to tell me something, it got me wondering, why do you work for a man who makes you explode if you give up information?” “Dats cause da boss has always been da boss and that’s how he does things. That poor idiot was new and died because of it.” “So you are just okay with him killing you if you try to talk?” “He takes a lot of precautions. He ain’t da friendliest of outsiders or most others for dat matter.”“How long has this boss been da boss?” “I dunno at least 500 years.” hmmm.

You don’t know how much information you can get out of him. He isn’t an idiot and refuses to talk about things that will clearly kill him.

You should be afraid of him. He wants you-” He stops himself. “Ahhh!” he starts screaming. It must be the feedback from his boss, but he stopped in time to where he wouldn’t explode. Just feel incredible pain. He collapses after that.

Seems that is all you are getting out of him. You turn your attention now to the tied up goblins and ask them “What happened here?” One of them answers, “We were raided by those jerks from the north. We ask for help from the capital in the mountains but haven’t heard anything.” “You didn’t try to resist? Numbers are on your side.” “We are a simple farming village, we are little match for trained combatants.” You weren’t so sure just how well “trained” those goblins were, but you see their point.” Alright, let us help get you out of here. You and your friends untie the goblins and they thank you ever so much as you do so. Once they are all untied they try to salvage their village as best then can.

Melo comments, “So if that is over can we get back to the mountains?” It does seem like the situation here has been resolved. Maybe you should head up to the mountains as Melo suggests.

Where is your capital located. Do you or your nation do any trade with the Harpies. Any ideas why these Northern Jerks would raid your town. Has anything major happened recently, anything that would disrupt trade.

Oh also we should totally take all raider crossbows. Ranged weapons good.

You decide to ask a bit more clarifying questions to the villagers. “Where is your capital” “In the mountains.” They point to the direction Melo was leading you all. “Do you or your nation do trade with the harpies of the north Eversong forest?” “We specifically no, but we as a whole do.” “Any idea why these jerks attacked?” “None besides this boss of theirs told them too. The border between here and the accursed lands has always been peaceful until now.” “Has anything major happened?” “We lost communication with the capital so I assume something big happened, but we don’t know what.” It wasn’t all too much more information, but at least it was something.

Melo urges you all to continue your trip, and you decide to comply with that. Looking at the poor villagers you can’t help but think what combat training would do for them, but they seem to be busy salvaging their livelihoods and if things were getting bad at the capital you might wanna get there before it gets worse. Before you head out though you grab the crossbows and bolts in case you should have use of them. You also stop for a minute and think. “What do we do about those 5 remaining goblins?” They won’t be too much of a threat tied up as they are but you left Gurtag in a similar state before and he got out.

You journey through the mountains was much less eventful than that village. You saw what looks to be remnants of a siege of some sort, but no actual people. You kept your guard up nonetheless just in case. You reach the main door entrance to what you and Melo assume to be the capital within the mountain. It was a huge doorway. Maybe 50ft tall and 25ft wide. You think this huge door is more for show and you begin to search for a smaller door or some way to open it at least. Melo then flies directly into the huge doors. “Owww! Why won’t it open!” she pouts. You roll your eyes and continue your search. It didn’t take you too long though you found a small latch that opened a much smaller part of the huge doorway. “Oi who dis!” you hear yelled at you all. You look up to the voices and see that there are about 50 goblins around you. Some were above on rafters, some were on the ground around you. You didn’t know if they were hostile or not so you decided to play it cool for now. “Hello there, we are travelers hoping to see how the goblins of the grey mountains are doing. We are sorry for walking in but no one answered the door when we knocked.” Melo jumps in “We didn’t kno- mmfmmm!” Anna grabs Melo and covers her mouth.

You hear chattering between some of the ones from up high. After the chattering ceases one of the goblins in the rafters addresses you. “We is sorry but we is busy at da moment. Could you perhaps continue on your journey?” “Why might that be?” “You sees we just got done with a seige misso-Attakcers! Right attack, we fended dem off but we is concerned about safety, yeah safety.” “So is the capital okay I heard from some nearby villages that the capital has ceased all communication?” The lot in the rafters start whispering to each other, then the one from before answers. “We has ceased communications because of da seige, we will work on bringin’ dat back up.” You take a good look at him. You can’t tell if he is lying or not, but this atmosphere just feels off. “I understand you wan’t me to leave out of safety but my entourage and I are quite capable of defending ourselves so may we visit the city?” “No!” he didn’t even whisper with his peers that time.

I'm afraid we must insist. Our mission is of vital importance. And if we don't complete it many people will suffer. Including Goblins and this capital.

You came here to investigate the capital and find out what is happening, you have a pretty good idea what happened but you won’t be turned away before you can solve this problem.“I’m afraid I must insist,” “And wes’ afraid you leave.” the ones on the rafters raise their crossbows and level them at you. You try to salvage this, “You don’t understand da boss told us to come and inspect and he would be incredibly angry if we do not complete our mission.” “Da boss you say?

“Da boss said nothing about you or da others! We can’t take no risks. Bois ready and aim!”

Your group prepares for combat. Victoria winds up for a toss and Yuki levels a crossbow back at the goblins. As the first shots were about to be fired you hear a loud voice come from behind the goblins on the rafters.

“Now now, settle down everyone.” The goblins lower their weapons, but you keep yours steady. “Gentlemen, we are the rulers of this mountain, being rude to guests like this is unbecoming of us.” the voice seems to be addressing the goblins, not you. “We need to act civilized, now please return to your guard duties while I properly tend to our guests.” At the voices word the goblins file out and you are replaced by what looks to be a man, in fact he looks like a human man with long and wild blond hair. He also seemed to be wearing and ornate, but over the top outfit.

“Humble guests,” He addresses and bows to you all. “I am sorry for the others rudeness, but I would like to welcome you to our city. I am afriad that the others were right that this poor place recently went through a seige so many are still hiding in their homes, but if there is some way I can accomidate you just say so” he pauses and waits for a response, but then decides to add one last comment. “I am afriad though that internal rebuilding is a top priority so you may not want to stay here for that loud and messy process.”

You don’t know what to quite make of this character. He seems much nicer than the others at least.

>>

We don't know if these are the head exploders or not. We have so little info on him
And on the Human note. Goblins are kind of easy to control having a human in charge is not that weird.
>>
>>447591
The goblins work for the boss. This guy comes out of a city under seige and says "Gontlemen, we are the rulers of this city". So he is the boss or works for the boss and the boss invaded this city. Hence, bad guy.
>>
>>447605
And you missed the whole point with the old man about humans being almost extinct, didn't you?

He isn't one of mother kids and doesn't have pointed ears.

Almost Extinct is not Extinct. He could be one of the remaining humans. We haven't meet all of them.

>>
>>447504

You don’t like the look of this guy nor do you trust him. I mean he might look human, but he is hanging out with all these goblins and seems to be a part of whatever they are doing. “We are sorry to intrude sir, but we only wanted to check up on the goblins in the mountains we don’t want to overstay our welcome.” “What!” Melo yells, breaking free from Anna’s grasp “but we haven’t even figured out what was going on?! We were sent here to find that out remember?” Oh, you do remember, you just wish Melo didn’t and didn’t just yell that. The man slowly walks down from the rafters to your ground level, “If you wanted to see the city I would be happy to give you all a brief tour.” Melo jumps at the chance, “Perfect!” “No, it isn’t!” Anna grabs her by the mouth again. You don’t think you want to stay here at all, I mean you did just find out what happened, other goblins besieged the capital, took over and are now raiding nearby towns. At least you are pretty sure that is what’s going on. The Harpy queen only wanted you to find out what was going on so you can call it an adventure there. “Please ignore my loud friend over here, We shall be leaving at once. We are again sorry we intruded and we wish you all a wonderful day." Your friends look at you a little concerned, as if to say “Are you really okay with this?” You had to be. Fighting here could be suicide with the numbers disadvantage. You turn around and make for the door, but when you move to walk through you instead run into it. You fall on the floor holding your head, “What,”

The man’s voice starts again, “You’ll have to apologize, but I only wish to confirm your sincerity in leaving and not causing us any more trouble.” Would you do that by sincerely leaving? Like how you just tried to do? “Now I must say that is an interesting claim made by your flying feathered friend, though the one I heard earlier about being sent here by a “da boss” is far more fascinating to me.” Now he is slowly making his way down some steps, sliding his hand on the railing as he does so, “ I do not remember ever hearing of other humans besides myself being a part of this, and as all of them are naturally almost extinct it is exciting that 5 our standing right in front of me.” He is slowly walking up to you all now, unarmed and casual.

You see a what looks to be another switch in front of you. You press it and it opens the path to the outside world. You look back at the man who is still calmly approaching you. No look of panic, no look of shock that you are about to leave, just the face of intrigue and indifference. There was something dreadfully off about that man and you did not want to find out why.You don’t let this chance slip and you have everyone file out of the mountain gate as quickly as possible.

No one followed you out but you did hear the man’s voice one last time as you sprinted out of there, “Please, feel free to come again…” No thank you, you think. After a good 5 minutes of nonstop running you all finally stop to catch your breath. “hufff , hufff,” You do a roll call, “Everyone here?” Aki takes a look around “Yeah,” “Good,” you sit down on the mountain path. “Well we know what happened, we just need to report back to the Queen." Melo is upset at your statement, “But the Queen sent us here not only to find out what happened but to fix it if possible, remember our village depends on trade with the goblins.” You don’t remember her asking you to fix it exactly, but she did mention the trade’s importance.

You try to reason with the harpy, “Melo, I want to fix this too, but charging in without a plan against those numbers is suicidal.” “BUT!” “But you’ll die, Melo, we were lucky to get out while we could, we should report back to the harpy queen and get out of here as fast as possible and try not to get captured. “But…” You grab her, “Melo, please this one time you have to understand.” Melo doesn’t say anything and averts your gaze. She probably won’t go off by herself, but she definitely didn’t like it. Yuki joins in, “I understand we can’t do anything at the moment, but we will come back, right? After seeing that village they are probably going to do something similar to the capital if they haven’t already, all those people will…” She solemnly looks down. “Yuki, I know how you feel but we don’t have enough information and that man bothers me. He is clearly an enemy but who he is is a mystery.” “Maybe you should have asked him then,” Anna, joins in. “Anna, you couldn’t have expected us to simply stay there, talk with him, and face crazy odds,” Rozalin looks at you, “You have done worse in the past, you jumped at a fire hawk as a paraplegic in the face of almost certain death, but now one man and his goons have you running scared?” You yell, “I am not scared!” you are starting to breathe heavy again. Your fists are clenched up and shaking, “I just, want to regroup okay….” Aki places her claw on your shoulder, “If you say so.”

You need some water. And time away from all this. You all slowly work you way down to the raft you left on the river, you were going over the events in your head when, “Look at her run, the master would be upset” “yes the master is coming, for a referendum,” “will the master come for her?” “The master comes for all” Why did they return? Did your mental fortitude slip up somehow? You say quietly to yourself, “Shut up…” the voices continue regardless, “where does she think she can run to?” “”away” is not enough to run from the master.” “Shut up!.....” “perhaps she will once again meet with her near death, she belongs to the master anyways.” “SHUT UP!” you yell. “Ar-Are you alright,” Aki asks, Your friends seem incredibly concerned. You shrugged it off annoyingly, “I’m fine… let's just get to the damn raft.” “Alright…”

When you get to the raft you feel incredibly tired, both physically and mentally. You took a crossbow bolt to the chest and had your mental episode. Maybe it's best to rest before sailing.

You tip off the edge but Aki was there to grab you. “Hang on!” waves start rolling in, but you were able to channel some of your water magic to quickly get out of that sticky situation. Aki pulls you up to the raft, “Thanks, Aki,” “No problem, just be careful.” Thankfully that was the last of your troubles and you somehow made it over to the other side. “Thank god!” Adrian exclaims as he kisses the dirt in front of him. It had only been 15 minutes since he was last on dirt but he acted like it was 15 weeks. For once though you share in his delight, finally safe from that territory you can rest easy. And boy, after that rafting and the day you had, you really need it. You walk over to Aki, you could use her right now. You were still dripping water, but you didn’t care much right now.

“Weeee big sis Aki, big sis Aki!” You see Aki swinging Serena around in a circle. “Oh sorry, am I interrupting?” “It’s okay I was just gonna stop this merry go around,” The imp looked disappointed “Awww,” . “Anyways Aki can I talk with you tonight I-” “No!” the young imp shouted. “Why?” you ask. “Because you had Big sis Aki all yesterday, now it's my turn. So we are equal right?!” Her logic is appropriate for her age, but her stuborness would be twofold. Not to mention you don’t want to get Nessera involved. “Alright you two, play nice” you wag your finger at the two. Aki looks concerned, “Are you sure, I can-” “No it’s okay Aki I’ll talk to you later. “If you say so…” You walk away from the two as you here pleasant giggles coming from Serena. At least one of you got to have fun right.

You are shivering, and not just from the cold water, something is really bothering you, but you can't pin it. The voices in your head stopped for now, but their constant taunting and sayings drove you crazy and left you mentally exhausted.

Aki is out, but it looks like your group seems to all be available for a small talk if you want. Otherwise, you just feel like hitting the sack hard.

You just really need to sleep and who knows maybe you will have a pleasant dream to get your mind off of all this mess. You set up your sleeping area and head straight to dreamland. Dreamland, however, is occupied at the moment by an elegant vampire sitting across a table from you sipping on wine.

You just wanted to get some sleep but here she is again, “I’m really not in the mood for this…” “I know, that is why I am doing this.” Mother responds. “Well, I would appreciate it if I could just sleep for once, without you feeling the need to check in.” “And I would appreciate it if you were willing to listen to me for once.” She takes another sip of wine, “Darling you look terrible, what has happened other than that run in with the man?” “You mean you don’t know?” “Besides that strange man in tight clothing, I don’t know what else put you in this state. “Well, there are voices, gnawing at me, they come and go but ever since I went into that tower they are there.” “And what do they say?” “They seem to be discussing me in some reference to a “master”. Its like I am not part of the conversation but they whisper about me constantly.” “My this is concerning, And you think your run in with that man triggered it?” “Maybe” You recline in your chair and look up. “I just don’t get why they are here.” “Well clearly they work for this master and you are connected to him somehow, perhaps it is a curse he placed on you, or he is hunting you and these shadow voices are relaying information. Either way, it is not good for you.” “Do you think it could have been that man?” “You would have to ask him. If he was the trigger he would know something.”

“Speaking of the man I noticed he was human, or at least looked human.” “Indeed.” “Did you send him from your castle?” “Maybe I sent maybe 5 total minus you.” “You found the blind believer already so there would be 4 more, though whether they live or not I have no idea.” “So you think he could be?” “Maybe, but I send largely children like yourself into the wild, he looked far older than a child who a max would be 18 years old.” “I’m afraid that is another thing only he may know."
>>
>>448443

“Though I also have to ask, why did you leave? Usually, you are one to talk and stand your ground, so you surprised me when you ran.” “We had no idea what was going on in the capital and we were clearly outnumbered.” “Yes but you seem to be forgetting your prize trinket." A small yellow orb appears on the cafe table. “It is more than capable of destroying those goblins, no matter the number. So with an item like this in your hands, I am even more surprised you ran.” “This orb is evil” you simply point out, “Evil, is a subjective word darling, and maybe it is just unable to be controlled properly.” “What are you saying?” “I am saying perhaps the previous owners were not suited to wielding its power and it caused them to slowly decay, but that is just a theory, you won’t know what they felt until you use it regardless.” Another sip of wine.

Well, darling was there anything else on your mind you wanted to talk about? I am interested in what you all plan to do in the morning. The poor little harpy is quite conflicted as is most your group.

"The 'No-Named Man' is a mystery to all. I only know that he will sometimes show up completely cloaked and release information to someone. I assume it is for his own gains but even that is rare. At least I hear anyways, I never met him. I think this something that the witch was concerned about coming was the reason I took you in the first place. If one of the planes collapses likely the rest will follow. How that calamity begins is irrelevant but the result is the same. I have no further thoughts on the orb beyond what I said." She is a little taken back by your next question. "You wish to perform perfect resurrection? my that is quite the goal. I believe only ancient magics or maybe hyper-advanced holy ones could work. Though mastering something like that would take years if not a decade."

>>448514
"I believe all you need to do is increase your own mental fortitude. You mentioned that the man may have triggered it but their continued annoyance I could only imagine is a result of a weakened mental state. I do not think this would be the exact solution, but it would be a good place to start."

“Using the orb of destruction to power life magics? Wouldn’t that be a grand irony? You would have to try and channel the magic into and through the orb. Though only your friend Yuki can channel that type of magic, and she is getting quite good at it. I have no idea if it will work but the result nonetheless would be interesting.”

“Perfect resurrection is always talked but I never see it, it has been studied by many I hear but as I practice the darker arts I never cared to learn of it. Theoretically, anything should be possible, practically not everything.”

“Training for you mental defenses eh, well you did like to use that song about never giving up quite a lot. Though creating a mental barrier can take time to perfect. You can use magic to augment it of course and I think you know someone who is versed in augmentation. Training though would mean increasing your mental status, not your intellect per say but more of a wisdom type of deal. It’s more a reflex than knowledge. Exercise like that involve projecting your mind against others, for instance, could try to block me, but I am far too powerful for you to do so.”

Mother explains her training idea, “Alright so what is going to happen is I will lower my abilities until you are able to push me out.” You nod and begin to concentrate. “Let’s start by cutting my power in half right away.” The next instant she was gone. Just straight up out of your head. Holy shit you got the hang of this real fast. Mother bursts back in a minute later. “You surprised me darling, I had to increase myself to about 65% just to get back in. If you are as fortuitous as you were here, I doubt those shadows will have much of a chance. Sweet.

After your impromptu training, you once again are seated at the cafe table. She takes a sip of wine waiting for another topic of conversation. You wanted to ask one final thing, “Mother it has been bothering me a while now, but you are Malena from that human village aren’t you, this is your old doll,” You pull from your pocket the mommy doll Malena used to love so much. The vampiress looks at the doll, she even takes it from your hands to get a closer look. She examines it up and down feverishly, checking every part of the doll. After her examination, she looks at the dolls face silently. But then she sighs annoyingly. “Darling we have been over this before, that idiotic girl died hundreds of years ago, Aleister did his best but even that man could not cure that girl's problems. Though to think this doll was her voice all those years ago, She spent every day wailing in her room ‘mommy mommy where are you! Mr. guardian angel please come back!’” She takes a long breath, “I grow tired of this darling, you will be waking up soon.” She hands you back the doll though she hesitated to for just a brief moment. “Goodbye, darling, and good luck.” She smiles and waves, as she slowly fades to black. Moments after that you opened your eyes.

You hear Yuki yell, “She’s awake!” Victoria answered her call, “Finally tell her to get her ass over here!” You slowly rise from your sleeping area, “What’s going on Yuki?” “You have been asleep for almost 12 hours." "12 hours!" "We wanted to all talk about our next plans besides heading back to the Harpy village. People are pretty divided about yesterday and we wanted to discuss it with everyone. Take time to wake up I’ll hold off Victoria for a bit so you can properly discuss things.” Yuki walks off. You sit there slowly gaining your bearings and stretching. “What to do huh?”

After a few minutes, you walk over to your party who was all circled around last night's campfire. “Feeling better?” Aki asks. “Yeah, guess I was just really tired, sorry for worrying you all.” “As long as you are okay it's fine,” Anna adds.

Victoria speaks up, “Alright everyone as for what happens now I want to put in my 2 cents. I don’t think it matters if we save those people or not, they should learn to fend for themselves.” Yuki jumps up, “How can you say that! They were just raided and are being attacked and potentially killed in mass! We should do something.” “They should have been better prepared,” Anna jumps in. “You are victim blaming Victoria, and although that is in character it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.” Victoria leans back with her arms behind her head, “It’s ultimately indifferent to me, if you want to save them w/e I’ll go beat that pretty boy up. But I don’t feel like we should “have” to save them.” Before you can get your say in Rozalin joins the conversation, “I feel that dealing with the goblins is unessecasry, but they are potential malignancies. They are cut off by two rivers and their transportation seems limited compared to the old land owners. I agree with Victoria that we shouldn’t feel pressured to save them.” Adrian now adds, “That guy though bugs me, he was human, I don’t think it was any illusion. I can’t say why but I can feel it. If anything I want to talk to him, but I am for saving others, like how you guys saved me a while back. Aki just looks toward you. It seems like she will be okay with whatever you decide. Melo speaks up, “I want to make the Queen happy, and if the goblins are important then we should help them." Nessera and Serena watch on, uninvolved as usual.

>>448805
>Report back to the harpy queen with your information and call it good
>>
>>448805
We should at least try to save the goblins. Helping people is what we do and it allows us to grow. If we just ignore something now then it will only grow worse over time and the strange human could cause more, what ever he does.
Further more we have built up this image of ourselves as the great problem solvers and we should continue to cultivate that image.
I think we should go back to the Grey mountains on an information gathering mission. We won't solve the problem yet. But just gather info so we are better informed about the whole situation. Because the last time we were uniformed we kind of caused a genocide.
>>
>>448825
And why we can't do with an army of harpies to help?
>>
>>448825
And that way we risk capture, why not let the harpies help?
>>
>>448844
Because an Army of Harpies is not quiet. You have seen Melo she isn't what you call stealthy. Actually the opposite she lacks all subtly. And info gathering needs stealth. We need to infiltrate in and acquire knowledge.
Besides if we march up with an Army that would be very suspicious. You don't bring armies around just willy nilly, you bring armies to kill people. And right now we don't know if we need to kill people. Because as I said previously we have very little info.
>>
>>448861
Eh actually we kind of know what's going on. An army with a human took over the city. And the man knows how we look like.

And we lack the element of stealth as long as Melo is part of the team anyway.
>>
>>448881
So we send Melo back with info and infiltrate ourselves. And as you said we kind of know what is going on but not all of it. And the last time we operated on just kind of knowing the situation we caused a genocide.
>>
>>448891
But that way we risk capture. If we had armor and didn't get crippled in our last fights I might be confident but as it is it looks like a high level boss fight and we don't even have the right gear.
>>
>>448901
We risk something with everything we do. Going after the Fire Hawk super risked out lives but we still did it, and we did well. Meeting Baeloric risked death and that turned out fine. Even when we were captured we still found a way out.
Again I'm not saying we fight the, for lack of a better name, Goblin King. Just acquire more info on his power and his plans. After we have gotten more info we retreat. Reassess the situation. Then decide what to do from there.
>>
>>448926
I would be willing to take more risks if we didn't have a little kid in our party. And granted the only man suddenly became useful but he is still monster girl bait.

Also we have no way to disguise ourselves.
>>
>>448937
The little kid can turn invisible, and can also wait outside.
Also on the note of no disguises we have plenty of disguises. We have Anna. With her materialization powers. We don't know how long it will last but it should at least give us a temporary disguise.
>>
>>448951
Then let's do that.

Sent Melo to the queen.

Use the invisi imps as spies.

Disguise ourselves.

I suggest an Oni costume for victoria.

Pointed fake ears and dark clotles for us.

A fake slave collar for the male and so on.
>>
>>448958
Good plan. And the Male does have a name. He is Adrian. He is everyone's favourite bumbling idiot.
>>
>>448964
He is still wearing jewels like an idiot isn't he?
>>
>>448995
Probably.
>>
>>448997
Any suggestions about what the rest should use as costumes?
>>
>>448999
Similar pointed ears and dark clothes for the rest of the Humans. For Aki and Rozalin that is more difficult. They are also really big so might have them wait outside. Have them keep our exit/entrance secure.
For actually infiltrating the question being do we go through the main entrance again or do we try and find a new one. Because I think we should try and find a new one. In which case Victoria and Adrian should have the same outfits as us.
>>
>>449020
We should ask our team monster girls if dark elves exist.
>>
>>449031
Also Victoria cannot pass as anything that's not an oni or an ogress but since oni girls are way more cute...
>>
>>449031
We have met Dark elves so we know they exist.

And I guess you are right Victoria is quite big. Elfs are not. So Oni.
>>
>>449070
>>448999 Yuki: Yuki Ona Victoria: Oni Us: Dark Elf Aki: The human form he had that time was nice but since we don't know how to do that spell, let's cover her in bandages and give her old style Egyptian clothes. Adrian: Pampered slave, if they ask just say that he is a monkey. Imps: Just for fun, black ninja costumes as they will go invisible anyway.

I just got back and am working on an update now, feel free to continue discussion, though.

The Yuki one make total sense. But I don't think we are in a cold enough climate for Yuki Ona. More Dark Elves make sense. Where there is one there are generally more. Unless you are some sort of Dark elf Loner who is a massive Mary Sue and has like 50 god damn books about him.

Could with its so bad it's good for Rozalin
And you go "desert slave" for Aki
>>
Cute disguises for everyone, save Adrian, he is the monkey.
>>
>>449116
Hmm. Both might work.
>>
>>449119
Also that is always the Plan. Though who knows. We could get a cute disguise for Adrian.
>>
So who was Rozalin again? A centauress? Make her our mount.
>>
If we have Desert Slaves, we might want to be a desert MG instead
>>
So, I am the only one here who wants a fox girl?

And I don't like Melo I prefer harpies that aren't bird brains.
>>
>>449130
Bicorn. Like a Unicorn, but two horns.
>>449134
Yeah. You are right. We either need to decide on the Desert Theme or Dark Elf Theme. I'm for Dark Elf. Dark elves make more sense for the environment
>>
>>449134
Dark elves fit in the desert, they have dark skin and all.
>>
>>449141
Not really. Dark Elves are weird. They hang out in caves and forests. Which should mean lighter skin. But you know magic and different universe and all the stuff.
>>
>>449144
We are dark elf necromancer, screw caves, we want a dark tower in the desert. Dry air is good for our undead army.

Or just get pointed ears and wear a mask.
>>
>>449138
Desert theme makes sense if we're having desert slaves like Aki and possibly Adrian
>>
>>449154
Yeah. Thinking about it further. Can't really think of how to disguise Aki if we got Dark Elf Theme. But Adrian is easy either way. We make him a trap or we make him a slave.
But again even with the question of disguises how do we infiltrate in. Are we going to take a different entrance or go through the front door.
>>
We could cover all our body with bandages and pretend to be a mummy lich.
>>
>>449162
Front door perhaps? We could be slavers willing to assist the Goblin King.
>>
>>449166
We'd be kinda short for a Lich and also blind.
>>
>>449167
I support this.
Making everyone a "slave" is more believable than any other theme
My vote is Slave theme
>>
>>449167
Yeah that could work.
>>449171
Slaves work. But Humans should be still in disguise. Humans being near extinct and all.
>>
>>449167
No, use our nija imps to spy first.
>>
So to get our plan condensed into one post what is our grand plan.
>>
>>449177
It doea make sense, they can turn invisible after all.
>>
>>449181
Or are we still discussing it.
>>
You give it a long thought. “I want to find out more about all this, why they are there, who that human is and if we can help the locals. For that though we will need to infiltrate and spy.” After your run in they will not doubt be looking for you. What you need is disguises. “Anna we will need some disguises.” “Got it, and thanks for wanting to go back.” Seems that the others generally approve of going back, Rozalin and Victoria are just indifferent and don’t argue one way or another. “What should everyone be,” Anna asks. Yuki energetically announces “I’m on it! Let’s see for Victoria we want something elegant but also intimidating, hmmm yess.. For Anna maybe some… yes definitely… hehehe” It seems Yuki has graciously volunteered to be your team designer. You shudder as you have flashbacks of what she put you through back home.

You need to talk with a certain harpy though, “Melo, I want you to report to the Queen our findings and inform her that we are taking steps to solve the situation.” “But I want to help solve things too!” “Melo, this task will require incredible amounts of subtilty and we cannont risk discovery,” “I got it, but where do you find “subtilty” because I haven’t seen it around anywhere. Is it a fruit? Or maybe a tool?” That only reaffirms your decision. “Melo your task is incredibly important to this. In case we fail you need to tell the Queen what is happening and prepare them for potential conflict. If you come with us they might face attack and be none the wiser.” “Ohhhhhhh,” she pauses, “Well I don’t want to endanger anyone of my people, good luck all.” She turns to fly off and as she takes higher flight she hits a tree. “Owwwwww” She flies on despite that little slip up. Boy are you glad she left that already makes your plan 50x easier.
>>
>>449187
So should we have them infiltrate first through a separate entrance? I mean if there is a seperate entrance
>>
We could be a Girtablilu slaver by having Rozalin be the scorpionpart.
>>
>>449194
Why not use our ninja imps?.They are taylor made to be our spies.

>>449181
Disguises and ninja imps. We are a necromancer guy with slaves and a guard oni.

Ninjas sneak and spy. Then we have more options once they get back and we decide what to do.

You wait around until Yuki and Anna finish their works of art. After a few hours, Yuki sets up a small fashion show for everyone. “Now we need to be careful when we infiltrate so I designed all this with accessibility for weapons and such, but that is beside the point.” She enthusiastically throws her hands at Anna who holds up the outfits one by one. “Here we are! For Victoria, we made an outfit based off the Oni,” Victoria looks a little concerned, “Isn’t that a little too revealing?” “It just makes it easier for you to fight!” And like that, she was sold. “For Me and Anna and our leader, we have dark elf costumes.” “Is there a reason you choose dark elves?” “They live closer to here, and they are more likely to be necromancers, which is your thing.” Huh. fair point. “Your costume is a little more decorative as you are a high-level dark elf necromancer!” “I guess I am.” “Next, we have Aki! A special mumm-” “YOUR MAKING ME A MUMMY?!” it was really the only thing that makes you different enough to not be noticeable. She is right but Aki looks a little sad. “I have to wear nothing but bandages…” You blushed a little that comment as you imagine it in your head. “Next for Rozalin we have traditional centaur clothes. Again it was the best we can do given your body type.” “hehe, I’m looking forward to it.” “Finally, for Adrian, we have a monkey” “WHAT?!” he seems a little upset. “Everyone else gets cool disguises and you make me put on a monkey costume! And one with a slave collar?!” “Adrian calm down, this just makes it easier to hide you, as a human male its best to keep you out of sight of any female monsters watching.” “Well…. Okay, but I want a cooler outfit after we’re done!”

Yuki feels a tug on her clothes and looks down. “Where are clothes for mommy and me.” Yuki smiles and presents the young one with their pairs. “A set of matching ninja outfits, you to will be invisible anyways. This will add to the theme,” “Heh,” Nessera laughs to herself.

With that, all sorted out you return to your raft, perform a bit of repair and head out once more. But this time in fancy outfits.

Sailing this time around goes much smoother. Those repairs you made must have been really something. “Whew that was easier than the first time." While sailing you thought about what to do if people ask you who you all are. "Hmm, I got it. We'll jus say we are slavers." "Slavers?!" "It explains our colurful team. Anna make slave collars for everyone except us 3 dark elves." "Okay." "Now let's head up the mountains, but before we get too close… Nessera, Serena would you be willing to help us out.” “What do you require?” the demoness asks. "Can you scout the mountain and capital if possible? We want to know what is going on before making a clear decision.” “Hmmph, Serena stay here, mommy with be right back.” “Okay!” Nessera turns invisible and flies off.

To your surprise, Nessera returns rather quickly. “There is a back entrance to the capital on the side of the mountain. The front entrance is guarded just as well as it was before. They don’t seem to be guarding the outside of the mountain since they are all inside. From what I could gather there must be about 150 - 200 enemy goblins, but there are many of the local ones held in captivity. Although there are getting… processed.” That’s grim. “What of the man?” “I did not see him, though I suspect he must be in one of the central buildings.

You traverse the mountain path, and quietly, so far nothing out of the ordinary. You don’t see any goblins, but you keep up appearances regardless, you don’t want anything to happen because you relaxed. At the end of the path was a small door to the mountain interior. It opens to a cramped tunnel-like room that only goes one way. There are no turns no connecting paths, only straight. You follow the tunnel until you start hearing something. “I don’t care that he wants more, we took the mountain so he can wait.” “But he be angry” “Because we didn’t grab the girl? How was I supposed to know he didn't describe her exactly.” You hear the voices of that man from before and a goblin. They get louder has you head down the tunnel. “Well no matter, we took this mountain belt so he has his safety net. He can take solace in that.” You come the first split in the tunnel, the split went upward with a ladder inside it. At the top of the ladder is a grate. Likely it leads to the room that the man and goblin are conversing in. They continue, “Do ya think she com back?” “Well since now that he told us all about her I’m sure she will. Just keep an eye out, will you? I don’t want them killing more of our men.” “Right boss!” you hear some footsteps that get progressively softer and distant. The man above sighs, “Finally I can get back to my reading… where were we, ah yes the tale of the astronaut Tom” After that no noticeable noises are being made, you hear some pitter patters but you imagine those are just him readjusting his position when reading.

This ladder does lead to his chambers, maybe we can do something with this.

You quietly ascend the ladder to the grate and take a look at what you could see. What you saw was the man from before reading a book and lounging in a chair as he did so. The rest of the room was quite well decorated with jewels and other fine ornate crafts like crowns and the like. If you had to guess this might be the royal house of the capital. Or at least a governor building.

Probably best to get more information. You decide to head further down the tunnel where there are now many tunnels now branching off. There is one the north, west and east now but there are no indicators to where they might be going. Though you think you hear voices coming from the north and west tunnels. What they are saying, though, you have no idea.

"Quit yer yapping! da boss gets what da boss wants so get in da line!" you hear a loud whack followed by a woman's scream. "Ahhh!". You hurry a little faster down the tunnel and see a scene of about 30 or so goblins trying to push around about 75 tied up ones. Victoria gives a nod indicating "we can and will jump these assholes."

You were wearing your disguises and thought about approaching the goblins as slavers, but you realistically didn’t have much money on you to "buy" all these people. Instead, it would be more efficient to just jump them. If things go well you might be able to take them out before they alert others.

“Alright, everyone we're are going to jump in and save these people. Here Yuki,” You hand her some of your crossbows you snagged. “You, Serena and Nessera can surprise attack from the back lines, while the rest of us charge in.” Your group nods. “Oh, Anna?” “Yes?” “Can you make a club for Victoria? She is an Oni and we should try to keep up appearances at the very least.” Victoria scuffs, “I would rather punch these assholes but whatever.” She would be fine regardless but this way she stays “in character” so to say. Rozalin actually breaks into your planning. "Since you won’t be riding can I have a spear of some sorts? I can do more damage with one." Anna smiles “I’ll give you better than that!” Anna places her hands in front of her, a glow takes shape and it creates a large lance. “It’s a little showy, to be honest, but it is more than enough.” You address Adrian, “Adrian stay back with Yuki for support.” “Awww, but now that I can fight I was looking forward to joining in.” “Adrian Yuki is very important in combat and needs to be protected. Your ability gives her incredible amounts of protection.” “Okay….” he sighs, but he understands.

Once everyone seems squared away You quietly set yourselves up nearby. Neserra and Serena fly to the other side of the area the goblins were located. They were the first to open fire followed shortly by Yuki. “WOT?!” the goblins yelled in surprise. Next came the rest of your charge.

Nessera and Serena’s attacks go quite well, they managed to take out two easily. Yuki was able to get one as well. Your charge in was fair you managed to catch them off guard and cut one of their heads clean off. Rozalin had more weight to her charge and managed to get two of them. Victoria went on a rampage as usual, but this time, she had a heavy weapon that managed to snag four of them. Anna, however, stumbled a little, maybe it was because she was materializing too much recently but either way she missed her opportunity and missed her initial attack.

“Oi was dis?!” The goblins are still in mass confusion but some of them try to fight back, albeit rather poorly. They didn’t have their crossbows ready and were just grabbing their clubs. They swing wildly as one of the goblins is shouting for organization.

You also spot one goblin trying to escape from the scene.

For flailing goblins, they managed to get some good hits in on you all. Rozalin and Victori it ganged up on. “Ahh!” Rozalin got hit hard by one of the clubs to the face. She fell to the ground inside directly inside of the mass of goblins due to her charge. Victoria its banged up a bit, but it wasn’t anything she wasn’t used to. She still looks a little worse for wear, but she powers through it. Anna’s fumble gets taken advantage of and gets hit once in the back, but she should be fine. Aki at this time tried to counter one of their blows but was bumped into and missed her mark.

The one goblin that tried to escape also stumbled to the ground in his haste, though he is still trying desperately to get away.

There are 20 goblins remaining. Rozalin is incapacitated and in the middle of the enemy forces. Victoria and Anna are stuck in the thick of combat. You see 5 goblins in the back loading their crossbows.

Get Yuki over to Rozalin and to help her back up. If she can move after that she needs to chase down the Runner. We should summon some skeleton to assist Victoria and Anna. “Adrian! You and Yuki get over to Rozalin and get her up. I’m going to the runner.” You weren’t bogged down like the others were and to give you guys more of a chance you summoned some skeletons for good measure. About 5 in fact. You do this while running for the runner. You don’t want him alerting others. This mess is noisy enough as it is. You manage to catch up and tackle him to the ground and get into a grapple with the little guy. Adrian rushes with Yuki protecting her as they run to Victoria. Adrian leads the charge. “Finally!” He jumps in and dodges the swings against him, whilst kicking two to the ground. He makes way for Yuki and every now and then yells “Duck” to her . She narrowly dodges attacks when that happens. Yuki ran over to Rozalin and began healing with Adrian was giving them breathing room. Rozalin gets up slowly, “Thanks, Yuki,” She does a quick spin and knocks some of the surrounding goblins off their feet. She seemingly runs away from the group but circles back around for another charge, this time, she has a bit of extra vigour in her step.

It just didn’t seem like it was Aki’s day, After missing another attack shit gets pushed again and ends up prone. Victoria as well gets knocked off her feet by the gang of goblins on her. “Cmon’ you fucks!” she is somehow able to taunt from her position. Anna had much better luck this time around. She spawned two swords in her hands and cut through two goblins easily. Your invisible ninja’s moved in from their positions on the readying crossbowmen. It was another surprise attack and they manage this time to take out 3 of them.

“Oi you lot! Keep things together! Smashing times!” One of the goblins shouts. With two of your friends prone they immediately gang up on them

These goblins sure got their shit together, well all but the one run who you knocked out almost instantly. There is a group of 4 that gang up on both Aki and Victoria and they just wail away. It doesn’t look like they will be getting up anytime soon. Anna is taking some hits and is moving slower but your skeletons intercept most of the others,

Rozalin’s charge was fierce though and plowed through 4 of the goblins.

Thre are 13 goblins remaining, and their morale is beginning to crumble. You have 2 skeletons left, Aki and Victoria are out of the fight.

Continue having Nessera and Serena killing the Crossbows. Have Rozalin Charge the group near Aki and Victoria then have Yuki move into heal while Adrian Defends. We should summon more skeletons or Zombies so that they can focus on hunting down any more that attempt to run. We should then move to defend Yuki after the summoning. Anna should fall back to where Aki, Victoria, Yuki, and Adrian are and help defend Yuki.

You need to adopt a more defensive strategy. “Adrian, Yuki, Anna go help Victoria and Aki!” You raise your arm to summon more skeletons bringing your total to 7 but you are getting tired. You have your skeletons encircle and stop anyone who is attempting to run. Rozalin begins a process of cycle charging. Taking out 4. Nessera and Serena continue their assault on the ranged goblins, wiping the remaining 2 out. With only 7 threats left Anna works her way toward Aki and Victoria, slicing down one. Adrian and Yuki almost sprint over. Adrian dodges for a bit but trips in his haste and gets nailed in the head with a stray club and falls over. “Adrian!” Yuki kneels down and starts to heal him immediately. “Damn!” You work your way over to the pile but it seems like with only 6 remaining you may be able to intimidate your way out of this, but if you fail you would be leaving yourself open for a counter attack.

You think you can work this out. “You are surrounded and your allies are falling one by one give up now!” You point your sword at the remaining. There is an audible gulp from some of the goblins. One of the bigger ones in the back though stands his ground. “I ain’t havin' nun of dis!” He picks up a crossbow dropped by one of the dead goblins and levels it straight at you. The next instant though he is picked up by an invisible force and slammed into the ground on his head. “Hhheeeeeee” the others shout. 5 goblins left it seems. You continue, “Will you follow that fool to death?! Surrender and I shall spare you!” The remaining goblins drop their weapons and raise their hands.

You sigh, “Finally, that is taken care of,” you go to help Aki, Adrian, and Victoria to their feet. Aki and Victoria have some cuts and bruises but should be okay with time. Adrian however…. “Where am I? Ohh are you an angel?” He’s looking at you, “No Adrian you are fine.” “Does this mean I get to go to heaven?” Seems like that hit to the head knocked something loose. “No, it means you get to snap out of it.” You slap him in the face. He jerks his head back. “What what happened?” “You got hit, but you're okay now.” “Oh… okay…” he falls over.

Well, now you have 5 enemy goblins and about 75 civil ones. You know that the fight would make a lot of noise regardless and that people would come to check. You think you have maybe enough time to do something before hiding or finding some way to work your way out of this.

You walk over and knock out the remaining 5 goblins. Then you turn to address the tied up civil ones. They seem to be afraid of you. Some of them were shaking. “Everyone, please do not panic. We have come here under the guise of slavers but we do wish to aid you all and free you from these evil doers. But first, we need to know what happened.” They are hesitant about talking. One of the women starts to, though, “We were attacked without by that man and his crony goblins from the accursed lands. “That man? Do you know if he is the no-named man of the tower?” “I cannot know for sure, but he sure acts in charge. We tried to get word out about the attack but all of our messengers were hunted and killed before making it across the river.” “Okay, but how did this start?” “Well some of these type of goblins came from the north on a visit to trade, but more and more of them started coming into our lands and that guy with them started request audiences with our king. I heard the king refused, but we don’t know what happened entirely. One day the foreign goblins attacked and laid siege to our capital, and now this.” she raises her bound arms.” “Alright, well my friends and I here are going to try and solve this as best we can.” “But how? You are 7 people against an army of over 200!” “We’ll find a way.”

You hear a flurry of footsteps coming in your direction. You raise your finger over your mouth to the bound goblins indicating for them to stay quiet. Then 10 goblins came to your location, “Wot da hell happin’d here?!” One of them asks. You put on your best face. “We were attacked that’s what! Is this how you treat slavers who come here to do business? By attacking them when they ask for pricings on people?” You stamp your staff hard into the ground.

He is a bit confused about your claims, “Slavers? Did da boss say anything about slavers?” “Nah but he does work with em no and den.” “Maybe he sends dem to take the people we don’t want?” “But da boss wants all da goblins?” “Not only goblins liver ere you twat!” It seems you instigated a group pow-wow/shouting contest. “Gentlemen please, we only wish to do business, but we need to discuss how much slaves will cost and what is your main product? Is there someone I can talk to about that?” “ehh do ya think boss will know?” “He be da only one who wud”

It seems you were able to trick them into believing your slave stick. The five goblins will be a nuisance later, but hopefully, you will finish up your business here before it becomes too much of a problem.

“Allow us a moment gentlemen as we ponder our business venture here. I also need to see if my slaves are alright after their rude greeting they received, I mean they are slaves, but I still need them.” You really sell the whole slave master thing, though think maybe a little too much. They won’t notice anyways.

Once you turn around “So here is the plan, we say we are going to meet the boss and have them guide us there, once they turn around we jump them.” Anna adds, “Alright, but what are we going to do after that. We came here to gather info and maybe help, but are we just going to slowly grind away at an army and hope they believe our slave facade the entire time?”

She has a good point, you think about just what to do about the situation as a whole

“We’ll try to set up a civil uprising, kind of like what we did back with Sei at her village and at the Siren village.” Yuki seems concerned, “These people aren’t armed” “No, but their attackers are. If we convince an uprising of numbers they will surely be able to beat out the attackers, gaining weapons along the way.” “If you say so…” Aki sighed. “It is the fastest way to solve this problem, otherwise, we will be doing this forever.” “We could talk with the man here and maybe figure things out that way” Adrian suggests, “Yes, but he is still too big of a wild card. I would want to talk with him when we have the support of the whole city behind us if possible.” “Okay, makes sense.” Everyone seems on board with your plan. “Alright, then without further ado.”

You turn back to the goblins, “Sorry for the wait, but we have decided that you will take us to your boss where we can discuss business.” “Aight, boss is up this way. He turns and points. The others turn to. Your group gets right behind them. And you nod to your friends “Thank you, gentlemen, for being so kind as to guide us.” “We ain’t got nothin better to-” You all quickly punch the back of their heads and knock them out. Never saw it coming. You pick up their weapons and address the tied up civil goblins.

“Good people of the grey mountains, do you wish to stand idly by and be processed by these nefarious intruders.” the crowd shoots back, “Of course we don’t!” “Then why are you not rising? Your city population would outnumber these goblins likely 5:1.” “Because we can’t fight!” “Would you rather be processed? Would you rather see your city burn around you at the hands of your invaders? “Well…. No” “Then rise good people! For every goblin, you take out you gain new arms. You start to untie people and hand them the weapons of the fallen goblins. “Go and find others, release them and spread our word until the whole population knows of your bravery.” You raise your staff high in the air, “The people of this city will take back this city!”

I don't think we have time to sit back and train people up. At most we probably have enough time to teach people how to vaguely swing a club.
I do think we should use the imps to scout though. See if they can't find a holding pen where more Goblins are being held. The make it our plan to raid that place first. On whether or not any of the party goes, well that depends on the Info we get from the Imps about holding pens. End Goal of course is drive out the invaders and cause havoc.
>>
>>452553
Ask questions about were the other prisioners are held, remember to tie up and incarcerate the hostile minions we knocked out.

Use Victoria for training and ninja imps to scout.

After that kep giving motivational speeches since we have a bonus for that.

Use the rest of the team to protect young children.

Sounds good?

“YEAAAAAAHHHHH!” You receive a resounding cheer for your oratory. At least these people wholly convinced in your idea. To make this uprising work though you’ll need more info and people. You address your party, “Nessera and Serena, I want you to scout like you did before, look for holding pens, groups of civilians like these, and targets of interest.” “Understood,” The demoness and her daughter fly off. “Victoria, I want you to have them go through an intensive training course, nothing in-depth just enough knowledge to get them by. “Sweet.” She cracks her knuckles. As for the rest of us, we will be aiming to protect the most vulnerable members of the population, largely children and elderly. I will be giving some motivational talks to the new additions as they come as well.” “Alright,” Aki seemed relieved. After her time in the last fight spending time with children and just making sure they are safe would be a nice rest for her.

“There is one thing I should check…” You walk up to the group of goblins you were talking to moments ago. “Do you know of any other place prisoners might be held?” “Not exactly, but the ideal place would be large plaza’s or buildings. They seem to want to move us quite a bit so the large plazas throughout town would be my best guess.” If Nessera and Serena don’t turn up with anything you now have a starting point at least. “Thanks, and remember to tie up and incarcerate the hostiles when we take them out.”

Nessera and Serena come back as you were planning your next steps. “What is the word you two?” Nessera reports, “There are 4 main plaza’s full of people. There is maybe 100 civilians being watched over by about 40 -50 hostiles each. The largest building in the center of town which I am guessing is the palace is their staging ground. Likely the man and their reinforcements will come from there. “ “Anything else?” “There appears to be an armory to the south under guard by about 30 hostiles, but there are no civilians in that area. Oh, and there is also a park where they are keeping some sort of animal caged” Interesting. “Thanks you two.” “Hmph,” Nessera may act indifferent or like she doesn’t care, but she wouldn’t be doing it if she didn’t want to.

Victoria’s impromptu training seems to be going well. I mean you are slowly hearing fewer pleas for mercy which means either more people are grasping the idea, or she is slowly knocking out every one of them. You hope it is the prior.

You can give one quick pep talk to your forces before moving out but you first need to decide where you want to go. Alarms will likely go off with a force your size moving. Which means you might not have enough time to do everything until the enemy brings its full weight on you.

We make do for now what we have but after our seizing of the armory we should be able to take out 2 men for every one of ours! We will take these weapons and they will springboard us closer to victory. Everyone more out!”

Your march begins down the almost barren streets. Every now and then you are confronted by stray hostile goblins, but with your wit and force numbers they are easily taken care of. Seems like they somehow still buy your slaver shtick. After a bit of marching, you draw close to the armory. The guards around it are well equipped as you expect, but you outnumber them 2:1. You would imagine that victory would be within your grasp but you don’t want to underestimate the firepower they could be packing. “Nessera, what are their wielding?” The demoness takes a peak. “Looks to me like repeater crossbows and steel clubs. Not to mention they have medium armor on as well.”

Hmmm.

A sneak attack with an army your size isn’t feasible. You decide better against the thought. “Nessera you and Serena should do what you did before and sneak attack.” “Alright, but what about you.” You respond by touching your glowing black arm to the ground. “We’ll lead the charge. Rozalin, we’re charging straight in, let me on.” “The bicorn grins, “I like it when you are so in charge and forceful, hehe” You ignore her quip and jump on. You turn Rozalin and yourself around and address your men waiting. “We shall lead the charge, you will all follow behind and assault the enemy. We outnumber them 2:1! This should be an easy victory!” You point your sword in the sky and then level it in the direction of the armory. This was your signal to Nessera. Her daughter and her take out some of the enemies on the outskirts.

You charge in sword raised, and lance leveled at the armored foes. They are distracted by the demons’ sneak attack and you get a solid charge off. Following immediately behind you in a wing formation were the rest of your friends. Victoria even tossed a javelin mid charge before switching to her now oversized club. Yuki shot from the back with her crossbow and even threw some knives. Anna charged in with her shield raised and singled one of the foes out. Aki was running interference and toying with the enemies emotions. Adrian was attempting something, but it was kind of hard to make out as he seemed to be flailing around, yet still hitting things. Hopefully not himself, but it probably was.

Your initial charge was met with resounding success. The demon’s sneak attack already took out two of the combatants. Rozalin and yourself managed to take out one each. Victoria’s javelin manages to take out one and her fists say they get to punch another into a wall. You're surprised as Yuki manages to take out two, one with her knives and another with a bolt. Adrian even did something spectacular. You can’t quite understand what he did but he was able to knock out three of them. He has been surprising you recently. Though the monkey still appears to misunderstand most around him, as he continues to surprise himself. Aki’s powers cause even more confusion as some of the goblins start to turn on each other. Mainly they were confused and arguing but it further provides distractions for you. You skeletons manage to get a decent charge but as shambling undead, they can’t do much.Your goblin backup covers the area, and although untrained they bog down the majority of the armor foes.

The armored goblins are in a flurry as of what is going on. They are trained compared to the others you have faced and half of them ready their repeating crossbows. While the others ready their steel clubs. “You WOT?!” some of them yell as they head into battle.

These goblins don’t mess around. All of your skeletons get wiped out immediately and even then you still lose 5 more men. The goblins assess the situation and gang up on Aki. One of the repeating crossbowmen manages to nail Yuki in the arm. The remaining crossbowmen unleash into the crowd. Most of them missing, but even then they take out another 8 of your men. While also grazing and landing minor hits on Victoria and Anna. Rozalin gets clubbed in the leg and is reeling.

Aki is out of action, Victoria and Anna are stuck in the thick of it. Rozalin is injured as is Yuki. You, the demons, and Adrian are fine if not a little worried. There are 22 armored goblins remaining and you have 62 civilian goblins and no skeletons. You can always summon more skeletons, but after combat earlier you are getting magically drained.

Your plan manages to operate as you had intended. Adrian managed to get Aki out of the front lines at record speed and even took out one of the goblins while doing so. Punching him in the face before dragging Aki away. His recent competency is alarming. Yuki manages to heal her wound and begins work on Aki. Aki is safe now, but she won’t be able to do much anymore. Victoria and Anna keep chipping away at the enemy taking out 1 each. Meanwhile, Nessera and her daughter manage to kill 4 of the crossbowmen by themselves with a couple of really lucky. stikes. The real blob came from your goblins who continued to fight for their cause taking out 3 of the armoured foes. One of them appears to be running away. Perhaps to alarm others, you knew you already didn’t have much time, but you didn’t want to lose what little time you had. You made after him.

“We gots to gets da other!” He shouted, “No, you don’t!” you run and tackle him to the ground. It honestly hurt a bit as he was armored. But a grabble ensues regardless.

“Oi get dem gits!” one of the crossbowmen called out to the remaining men. They unleash a volley while the others continue to pound away at your small force.

These goblins are pissed and tired of your shit. The ones up front smash Victoria and Anna, there were able to stay their ground but they are dazed and are in trouble as more and more goblins beat them back and down. The volleys shot by the remaining goblins hit almost all their marks, taking out 10 of your forces and hitting Rozalin over by Yuki. She looks worse for wear, as she slowly falls over from the strike. Thankfully she is next to Yuki and should be okay. The goblin you were grappling, however, losses tremendously and is taken out, albeit a bit painfully for you.

There are 12 enemy goblins remaining. Aki, Rozalin, Anna, and Victoria are unable to perform actions. You, Adrian, the demons and Yuki are free. Yuki is however tired after being shot and doing the intensive healing. You have 52 troops left and they look to be starting to waver.

You need to move to take out those crossbows. Thankfully you got the hang of your legs again and are able to sprint over and impale one of them. Nessera and Serena continue their assault and kill another two. Adrian dashes back into the fray, “Come on you guys!” He is able to pull out both Anna and Victoria and ferry them over to Yuki. Yuki tries to heal them but, “I feel, woozy.” “Adrian shows concern, “Yuki are you okay?” Yuki grasps her head as she wobbles around, “Yeah, I just think I used too much mana and-” She falls over. “Yuki are you okay?!” "Yeah... just.... tired...." She is breathing heavily. Although breathing is a good sign her overuse of healing magic recently has cause a feedback of sorts and no doubt also made her exhausted. Your goblin forces try to rally and push ahead. “C’mon men there are only 9 left!” one yells at his fellows. The meat grinder assault was working in their favor and they managed to take out three of the enemies, though they lost 5 in the process.

You enemies notice that many of your friends are collapsed or exhausted and seize the opportunity to finish them off. One breaks away and charges at Yuki. the one remaining crossbowmen fires in your friend's direction. There was only six of them left, but it seems they had no intention of giving up and instead wanted to inflict as much damage as they possibly could before going out.

Rolling for goblins
>>
>>459384

There is still some fight in these goblins yet the one that charged Yuki manages to break his way through and has his steel clubbed raised. The crossbow bolts thankfully all go wide. Nessera and Serena ran proper interference and made him lose his aim. The rest of the goblins were fighting your forces and they manage to kill another 5 of your men. One of them tried to attack you but missed terribly.

The club came for Yuki, its speed was decisive and this blow could be powerful and devastating. Could be. Adrian managed to trip the running goblin and maneuver his fall in a way that the landed straight on his own steel club. He was knocked out instantly. Yuki continues to breath heavily, “Thank you….” Adrian flashes a smile and motions his hand toward his head, “No problem Yuki, I just… saw it coming.

Thank god she was okay but your forces were still worse for wear. You had onlyYourself, Adrian and Nessera and Serena who could act, and your forces of goblins are down to 42 troops. The enemy was down to six.

The goblins through down there weapons, and even take off their armor. “We surrenders.” I mean disarming is par for the course but disarming is a new one. You were honestly a little taken back by their enthusiasm. “Ahh, good! Now stay right there!” You then address your men, “Tie them up and take their weapons, amoror everything, raid this armory for all it is worth, we will need it.” “Aye aye!” one of them shouts as a handful sprints into the armory. You may have lost over 30 men but you won. “Whew,” You ran over to your friends who were all worn out. “Yuki, Aki, Rozalin, Victoria, Anna are you all okay” Aki responds with a groan, as does Anna. Victoria is able to say “I’m pissed, not okay.” For her, that was close to okay anyways. “ Yuki still looks exhausted but tries to get up. Only for her legs to shake and cause her to fall over again. Rozalin looks to be okay, “Just a minor injury but I should be fine,” That’s good and all. Bit this battle was a real blow to your team. Nessera and Serena make their way toward you, “Big sis Aki!,” The young imp jumps onto the basilisk, “Ohhufff!” Aki reactions to a sudden jump on her stomach with a groan in pain. Nessera interrupts their moment, ”We must be moving you know?” Oh, you knew. All of your injured friends require a few hours of rest at the least, but you don’t have the luxury of time. You had maybe one more major move in the city before the weight of the forces here comes down on you. You struck a massive blow with the armor being taken over, but where to go from here.

This situation is overall bad, you realistically only had You, Adrian, Rozalin and the mother and daughter as an elite fighting force. If Yuki was well we could salvage this easily, but you had to come up with other options. You ponder your situation carefully but your position was a bit stressful. Adrian seemed to sense your stress, “Hey don’t worry, just leave it to us! We’ll take out these jerks in no time!” Adrian smiles and strikes a pose of him directing his thumb towards his face. You laugh, “hehe,” his gesticulations and attitude always lighten a mood at the very least. Your now armed goblin force returns to you. “What’s the plan now boss?”

>>

That would have been horrible.
>>
We should head back to that town we were before once we get more troops.
>>
Now that we got weapons, we need more troops. Realistically we cannot rest in the armory as we are too many and then we would have to fight our way out. Once we got more people we can retreat with our troops at the town we were before and rest there. Oh and sent an emisary to get help of the harpies.

Because that man is probably a heavy hitter and we would surely lose if we face him without being in good shape.

We should head to the plazas and get some more troops to fill out our new armory. “Rozalin, are you okay to carry a few extras?” “I can fit maybe three.” That should be Anna, Yuki, and Victoria then. “Aki will be another issue. “Aki, I know you want to rest but we have to move, they could be here any minute.” “I know, You’ll just have to carry me for now.” “Cary you?" She can’t be serious, her body was far too long to be properly carried and she probably weighs much more than you do. But you can’t exactly say no. “Sure, but it might be a bit rough.” You help her up off the ground. “No it won’t” when you pick her up she leans against you and hooks her arms over your shoulder and around your neck. “I always wanted to be given a piggyback ride,” you're a little confused but when you try to move forward she slithers in tandem with your motions. Seems she just wanted to hold onto you this entire time. “One piggy back ride coming right up.” “hehe,” She wags her tail. Even in the brunt of all this, and after getting badly beaten she can still have this attitude. She definitely is one of a kind.

Your forces march through the streets and come upon your first plaza after a short time. Nessera relays to you. “There are 30 or so lightly armed goblins, like the one’s we face normally watching over a group of 100. You have a force of 42 but they are all heavily armed. Repeating crossbows, plate armor, steel clubs, you name it. You might be able to just intimidate them into surrender if you try, if not they will be easily dispatched off, though at the cost of some of your troops.

You have Aki release herself from your back and you slowly stride up to the plaza with your armed troops in clear view. The enemy goblins are already taken back by the sight. You continue your slow stride but you start speaking, “We are here to free these people, and we will do so by force if necessary.” You draw your sword and your troops ready their weapons. “It is up to you, will you surrender or fight and die?” “We don’t wants nun of dis bois!”They drop their weapons almost instantly, these normal troops had nothing on those goblins at the armory. “Tie them up!” your troops move in to secure the offenders. While doing so you address the civilians, “We are like you good people. We are tired of these invaders and refuse to be a part of their schemes. We will repel these invaders and return the city to the people!” You raise your sword in the air and it is met with a thunderous roar. You are getting pretty good at this. Your troops work to integrate the 100 people into your force and have them equipped as best they could.

You move to more plazas which were all guarded approximately the same, and your intimidation factor became exponential as the more troops you acquired the more terrifying your force became. You got into such a smooth rhythm that before you knew it you had a force of 400 troops. Only 150 or so were fully furnished with arms and armor, but that was more than enough.

You were making your way to the next plaza when you hear “My, that is quite a rebellion you have there? Though is it too early to call it a rebellion and more like a response militia?” There was the man from before hanging from a rafter looking over your force. Though this is quite impressive for a group of slavers to instigate something like this.” he twists off the rafter and behind a wall and suddenly appears on the other side of the wall but closer to the ground. “Did you all perhaps come here with these intentions I wonder? What is your story?”

With an army at your back, you feel much more confident this time around. You announce to the man while pointing behind you to your army, “These are no longer a group of people you can push around.” “YEAH!” they crowd shouts, “Don’t you feel lucky?” “Incredibly, I had hoped to take this place easily but now I get the joy of taking a slightly harder way, no matter, though.” He pauses and looks at his big, which amazingly was still reading by the way. “…Although I propose a deal.” “A deal? What kind of deal?” “You all leave and never come back,” “That clearly isn’t happening.” “Okay what about this, you slavers help me find a girl and I will leave, all you need to do is find one girl who should be nearby.” “My… that is quite a tempting offer.” He doesn’t seem to have a good enough look at you all to tell who you really are.”

“Sir if you think you can pressure me into accepting a deal before understanding it. “Who is this girl and what does she look like.” “Short little thing,” he crosses his legs, “Can’t be over 13 years of age, and she is human. Though it's hard to tell she is a girl, her hairstyle is completely off and her clothes don’t appeal to her image, a shame really.” He switches around his legs. “I am afraid I don’t know her name specifically though she travels with a colorful entourage of three other humans and some monsters.” You keep up appearances and try to suppress your feelings that he is targeting you. “That is not a lot of info to go off of. Do you know where she might be?” He waits a minute and flips a page in his book. “Close by, along the mountains, near that old harpy village a short while away from here.” He shifts his gaze from his book to you, “Or she could even be in this city somewhere. I am told her sense of morals wouldn’t let her leave those in suffering in crisis.” “Alright, and if you don’t mind me asking sir, why do you want this girl?” “Me? I don’t want her, my lord does.” “Your lord?” “Yeah, he seems to be quite interested in her so finding her and bringing her to him would easily make up for a pointless run down sad excuse for a city like this.” He puts down his book. “I will ask again, would you be willing to help, I think she might be closer to us than you would expect.”

I mean we can't really accept. Turning our selves over sounds like a bad plan.

Is he currently by himself or does he have his army with him? Because if he is by himself we could just tell our army to kill him. We have a lot of people.

“I have a new deal to offer.” The man looks surprised and raises an eyebrow, “oh?” “Either you get out or we kill you. We will not trust anyone who works for such a cruel master and an emissary to the harpy kingdom is already on their way. Even if you have a big hidden army, we only have to hold out until our reinforcements arrive.” He had no position to bargain given his situation. You had more goblins than he did anyways. Granted less experienced goblins, but still, you believe your force combined with the threat of reinforcements should be enough to scare him off, no matter how powerful he may be.

You two share an intense moment of eye contact. The man breathes a heavy sigh, “I honestly care little for this mansion and no doubt catching you all as you are now would be an incredible amount of effort. You all are just slaves anyway, who am I to get in your way of making a quick buck. We will take our leave for now, though I am afraid this will only have us come back later until my master gets what he wants.” The man stands up and makes motions behind him. “We are leaving. “But boss?! Da boss said we take da mountain!” “That he did Gurtag, but he did not give us a time frame. We will have to take… different methods. “But boss!” “No buts, just move” “Yes boss….” Moments later you hear a loud marching as the man and his forces over 200 strong march their way out to the main entrance. You breathe a sigh of relief, “Glad that worked.” You turn to your men. “We have taken the city back good people! We must rebuild quickly however as I believe that man will be back with more forces." If he works for the same person you think he does he might even bring a Firehawk next time.

After being cheered by your forces you decide to ensure that the man and his goblins leave. You follow far behind to look for anything fishy, but it seems like he just walked his way out simply. At the door though he stops and turns around as the last of his forces exit. “You know this mountain had too many issues for me to deal with, it was stinky, dark, and damp." He smiles again, “though the absolute worst problem would have to be pesky lava tunnels that run under the mountain. I bid all of this a fond farewell.” He waves at your direction and closes the door behind him. Wit that he is officially gone and the city is safe.

You start to walk with your team back to the royal palace. Most of your friends were still reeling but at least you could rest now. Or so you thought. Adrian out of nowhere grabs your arm and starts running forward. “Adrian! What are you doing?!” “We need to go!” “Why we just dealt with the-” And a huge explosion went off near the center of the village. “What?!” your confusion was followed by crazed screams of panic by the populace. Adrian yells again, “We need to leave now!” It was just one explosion, one last desperate attempt on your life you suppose. But the room started to heat up while you questioned things. You looked to find the source of the heat to be leaking red ooze all around you. In the direction of the explosion it looked like a volcano was in the process of erupting.

You understood the dangers now but.. ‘Adrian where are we going?! If we wanted to leave we could have used the door we were just at!” “We can’t, he…..” To your question, you hear hundreds yelling “The doors is locked! But it doesn’t have a lock how could that be?! Someone get a chisel, or pick or something!” Oh no. the speed of the lava was growing, it wasn’t moving at a natural pace and it was slowly consuming more and more of the city in flowing lava. Adrian then answered your question properly, “We need to use the side entrance we found.” He is right that small tunnel might be your only way out of this, but that means that most of these townspeople….

There is no way you can fit all those people through the tunnel, but you at least had to try something. You made yourselves priority, but you told others as you passed to use any exits they have or back exits or the side door or whatever to save them. *huff* *huff* your sprint continued. “Young one, we need to hasten our exit.” “I know Nessera we are getting out of here. 4 of your friends were still injured which made this difficult. But you trudge through it. By the time you reached the outdoors you could feel the heat radiate from the tunnel. Goblins sprinted with you down the tunnels and a good number of them made it out. About 50 or so. Their size definitely helped with that. You fall over exhausted.

“Dammit!” You slam your hand into the ground. “It went so well, why does he have to be an ass and cheat?!” Your anger was justified, but evil men never play by the rules. You’ll just have to pay him back next time you see him. You slowly rise and begin a long walk down the mountain path. You glance over to the main entrance. It was still standing. “Damnit,” but upon closer inspection you see that there are holes around the door which bled lava. How did those get there? The goblins that made it out of the tunnel with you sprinted down the path. There seemed to be a large convergence of people outside the mountain. As you get closer and closer you notice that there are actually hundreds of goblins who made it out. But how? They were waving at you, “Boss! Boss!” Once you make your way over you meet with the man. “Boss these weapons you got us saved our skin!” “What, he motions to his beat up steel club. “We couldn’t burst through the door but we ate away around the edges, still we wouldn’t have managed to save so many if it wasn’t for these.” There was maybe 400 total coalesced outside the mountain. You were able to recognize a few of them from being in your force. It seems the decisions you made inside saved more people that would have died. These goblins are without home, but at least they are alive, and for that, you are incredibly grateful.

We avoid the guy, we get voices in our head and need Mother help to block then.

We face the guy, he kills a lot of people.

Had we taken the option to leave with the army, who says he would not have just make fire rain from the sky and kill us once we were far enough from the city?

Lesson learned, no more sparing our enemies, from now on, they all die.

We should continue to help these people, your actions may have helped more live, but with no homes and refugee camps needing construction you had a lot of work to do. Yuki, Anna, Aki, Rozalin and Victoria need rest but you tried to make up for it with yourself, and Adrian. Before getting to work though you take a moment to talk to Adrian. “Thanks for pulling us out of there.” “No problem, I just wish I could see good things coming and not only bad things.” Despite his attitude he has come in tremendous help these past few encounters and you are honestly grateful for that.

You continue your aid to the goblins with their immediate concerns, food, water etc. Things were going pretty smoothly when you hear a goblin call for you. “Boss! Boss!” “What is it?” We found something on the ground. He holds out his hand to reveal a parchment letter. Hmmm, “You grab it from him and read its contents.”

“Dear slavers, we are sorry to have done that so abruptly on you, but you gave us no choice. Either we got the mountain or we got the girl. Getting neither of them would be unacceptable so I had to do this at the very least to appease my higher ups. Though I am not sorry for wiping that stain of a city on this plane. I wish you the best of luck on your future business ventures and hope to see you again in good condition. If you ever want to talk to me just come to the accursed lands next to the Tower of Spite and-”

You rip up the letter without reading further. How can he act so nonchalant about all this? He said his boss wouldn’t accept failure so he just burns down an entire city full of people? All the while acting like it was acting like it was just a normal occurrence. Just thinking about him now makes you angry. “Boss are you okay?” ‘Yeah… sorry, that letter wasn’t anything important instead what is important is that we set up a proper watch schedule and….” You assistance really made a world of difference. They were able to set up a basic camp in no time, watch schedules were made and food systems established. It seems your time leading and learning has gone a long way.

You are really tired and just want to rest. Today was long and hard, you fought and you fought, and you fought some more and after all that you deserve a relaxing sleep. If only you were ever allowed one. “So what do you want now?” you question your favorite and only vampiress eavesdropper. “I wanted to simply talk to you darling, you seem to be upset, not as much as you were when those shadows were after you but still.” *huff* “This whole situation was screwy, that man was creepy and a jerk,” “Well that is one way to put it.” You cross your arms at the thought of the situation. The vampire breaks the small silence, “Are you perhaps upset that you weren’t able to save everyone like you planned?” “Well… yeah…” “Darling,” You can’t expect everything you do to go well even when it looks to be that way. It is a lot like your run in with the mermaid general. Except in this case you did actively try to stop him.” “But he still won, in the end, didn’t he? He blew up everything.” She twirls her wine glass around in her hand. “I wouldn’t count that as a victory, more like a minimum for draw.” “It’s still a shitty situation.”

“Indeed, but you are now in an interesting position darling.” “?” “There are hundreds of goblins without home and willing to follow you. If you wanted to could mold them into what you want.” “Are you saying I should take advantage of these people's misfortune?” “I am suggesting it.”

Not to mention the harpy queen is far more experienced with the goblins and leading than I am.” She takes a sip of wine. “At the very least they will be better off than how they are now.”

A thought comes to you, “So Mother…” “?” “Do you want your doll delivered back by harpy mail or should I just walk it back to you at some point.” She looks annoyed, “Darling, we have been over this, many, many times. You might as well use this time to get all your thoughts out in the ari. “How are things at the castle?” “Boring. So far I haven’t had anyone close to you come out of the trials. I did have one kid try to choke out a guard, but that was more out of desperation than courage.” Also, I was curious, is the Astral plane this small or is there more to it?” “Well, there is another continent to the north that is less habitable, except by highly evolved species. Close to that of actual demons and devils, some say.” “You mean the accursed lands?” “Worse I hear.” There is also an island to the east that is steeped in tradition and combat, they usually aren’t happy with visitors. Then there is the archipelago that follows off of the Mikawa river. I haven’t been out in quite a while things may have changed” So there is more.

“Also Mother how do you feel about time travel? I think its a real drag to be honest.” “Time travel darling? Is that what you did when you were with that old wizard?” “Well, I can only imagine it to be fascinating if not dangerous.” “Indeed, you just might create something you had no intention of doing,” “Yes, you mortals refer to it as the ‘butterfly effect’ of sorts, though I think the example is far too extreme.” “Yes but the past, of course, influences the futuer, and the creation of something in the past has to affect the future.” “Yes that makes sense,” You were talking in circles to try and get her to understand what you were saying you and Malena, buteither she doesn’t understand or she is refusing to talk about it. Oh well.
>>
>>462487

Something about your interactions with other people here has you wondering, “Mother, you have experience I in relations….”you twiddle your thumbs “She looks intrigued, “Yes darling? Is this about Akitani?” “Yeah… do you have any advice?” “Advice? Me? Oh, Mother is so happy you feel like you can come to her about these topics!” She smiles giddily. “But I don't know what you are having troubles with dear, from what I see you two seem already quite close.” “Well sometimes she does these, things when she accidently forces herself upon me and I don’t really know how to feel about them. Part of me is always confused, another says it's nice, and another thinks it is gross.” Here eyes go wide as she slowly begins to understand your question. She leans back in her seat. “It was only a matter of time,” “Darling, almost everyone has some sore of desire so to say to be intimate with each other. Have you ever wanted to kiss Akitani and never stop,” “Well… maybe?” “And do those thoughts and actions feel good?” “Well… yeah.” That is a sexual desire, if not a base from. It can either be an expression of love or the product of lust. Most of Akitani actions against you have been the later.” “But what is lust?” “It’s that same desire for intimate connection of bodies, but it the person looses themselves to that desire. Thinking of nothing but that desire and being blind to all else. Which is how those things between you two happen.” “Is it possible to turn lust into love?” “Yes, but it is complicated and can take time and the right situations. You and Akitani met originally in lust but it has developed into love. It is actually rather beautiful.” “So the things Aki and I do together now is love?” “Yes, but not of the sexual kind. It is much easier to demonstrate this, but your girlfriend is much more qualified to give you a “hands-on” guide. All I can say is that if you feel good, and want to keep doing more things like kissing or touching her, that that is sexual desire in some way. Whether they are manifested in love or lust depends.” “That is… confusing.” “That it is darling, that it is….” A huge sip of win follows that

It's about time you woke up, “Talk to you later Mother, I should get back to everyone.” “Very well darling, I hope you can get thing sorted out with that mess.” You do too. After a moment your vision of Mother begins to fade and after a few seconds of brief blackness, you awaken to a bright and sunny day. “Another day…” You stretch and yawn as you start to feel strength come back to your limbs. “Guess it is about time to head out with everyone.” You get up and out your tent to a hustle and bustle of goblins diligently working on their temporary homes. You did not expect yesterday when you told them all they needed to survive that they would accomplish it all in less than a day. Their productivity is truly amazing.

“Morning!” You hear Anna’s voice behind you. “Anna, are you feeling better?” “Yeah, a good night's sleep is all I needed, Aki is still a little beat up but she is doing just fine.” “That’s good.” Anna walks a bit closer and says, “I hate to rush you this early in the morning, but we need to figure out what to do with these people and where to go from here.”

“Let's have a team meeting on it.” “Alright,” Truthfully you already had an idea of what to do, give them to the harpies to deal with. But listening to your friends' opinions on the matter is never a bad thing. Anna leads you to a large tent amidst the many others and opens it. Inside was pretty much all of your crew. Aki was still laying down, but everyone else was lazing about in their small confines. “Hello, everyone.” “Miss “Boss” has arrived. Who would have guessed that the goblins would build you your own special tent? They must like you a great deal.” “I didn’t ask them too, but they were halfway through construction and I can’t just say no at that point.” “hehe, a nice excuse but you left me cold and lonely yesterday night. All through the night, my heart ached, wondering if you were okay,” “Sure it was.” She giggles to herself as you try to blow her off as best you could.

“Alright everyone, we should discuss where we go from here.” You sit down with everyone. “I propose that we give the goblins over to the harpies, they were the ones that wanted this investigation and their safety. If anything the Queen should be able to organize something with their old trade allies.” “That makes sense…” Yuki ponders as she speaks. “What if we helped them rebuild their home.” “Yuki that would take precious time away from our trip and draw the eye of that man once again. He destroyed this place because he couldn’t have it. If we rebuild it he will want it again.” “True…” Rozalin joins the conversation, “What if we turned them into our own mobile army?” “What?” The bicorn explains, “Their ingenuity is a wonder and they have proven decent fighters. Not to mention with your type of enemies an army is useful.” That it would be, but the logistics of that are complicated. Adrian chimes in, “Or you can become the new Queen of the goblins! They like you enough to follow your orders already, plus think of the benefits!” You lightly punch Adrian in the arm. “Ahh, C’mon it was only a joke…” he rubs his arm like your punch actually injured him. You hoped it didn’t anyway. You looked to the remaining members of your team. Victoria and the demons were indifferent on the matter and Anna and Aki would support you no matter the decision.

Hmmm

We are not a charity, and you are certain that based on what they accomplished in a single day with this refugee camp that they would be fine. Though you should try and push them into the right direct with the harpies. “We will inform the harpy Queen of their position and they shall handle the situation from there. These people are quite resourceful and they should be able to bounce back to their feet. But staying here is dangerous for them.” “Very well,” Rozalin resigns, “Then we should head back to the harpy village post haste so we can move on.” You agree, but Aki is a little ruffed up still. It seems she noticed the stares placed on her. “I’ll be fine, I just need to take it easy today.” Hopefully, you could, that river ride can be rough sometimes but it should be alright.

With your mind decided you exited the tent, followed closely by your friends. You then approach one of your followers from yesterday. “We shall leave now and inform the harpy queen of your position. They will likely send an emissary to open discussions, and from there you should come to a simple agreement.” ‘Does this mean you are leaving boss?” “Yeah, it does I’m afraid, but you are quite a strong bunch when you put your minds to it, I know you will all be fine.” “Alright boss, but just know that if you ever need help you can count on us.” “Thank you,” With a short bow you take your leave. You hear a ruckus as you start down the mountain paths fo the river below. You turn to see the goblins shouting their goodbyes and well wishes. Some even promise to get stronger. While their affection was appreciated it was also a tad confusing. You knew you had a clever tongue but you had no idea you had that much charisma to gain the complete faith of a people that quickly. It was a little concerning actually .

The now familiar mountain pass felt a little more empty without the goblins around you, but a quite walk is never a bad thing. It was only a short time before you made it to the river where your raft was miraculously still beached near. Anna double checks the strength of the raft and makes minor repairs where needed. A little sand wear, some birds apparently picked at the rope, etc. With only a short delay you set off once again in the to “narrow” sea.

Your ride is thankfully incredibly smooth. You got to practice your water magic once again and propelled your group forward ahead of schedule. This time without unnecessary splashes. Your trip only takes a few minutes with how fast you moved. Once at the other side, you could finally say goodbye to that raft. At least for now. Anna sighs, “Guess it is time meet with the Queen.” You all make your way to the village, thankfully it was only a short 45-minute walk from the river. You could start to see the harpies flying around in the distance but when looking a little closer you notice one of them is flying directly at you. You can’t quite make out what it is so you tell everyone, “Get ready, something isflying toward us.” Your group enters a defensive stance and the spot gets closer and it appeared to be shouting. “-EIR BACK!” “?” As the speck got closer you could make out their full feauters. It seems like your favorite harpy has found her way toward you. “They're back!” She shouts again and again as she approaches you. You all give up your stances and await her arrival. Waiting there you thought that Melo’s overentusiasm was a little endearing when given in short bursts like this. She arrived after a brief moment but then dissapeared overhead the next. Seems she overshot you all. She circles back around, “Whew are you all hard to find, I could have sworn you were there a moment ago but it looks like you tried to hide from me.” This was not endearing at all. You ignore her statement, “Melo how is the village?” “They prepared for a fight but since you all are back we will probably stop that. Either way, you should report to the queen.” “I know.” “Know what?” “... … ... “ *sigh* “Come on Melo lets find the Queen.” “On it! She flies away in a hurry once more. That bird brain might cause an aneurysm someday.

You continue your pace to the village and were there in no time. You waved at the guards who were told to expect you as you walked up to the royal... branch you guess.” The Queen is perched on her ornate branch with Melo flying beside her. “Hey, guys I found her! See?” “Indeed you did.”
>>
>>464368

You approach the Queen. “Queen Kanon we would like to report that ….” You recount the last few days wholly and completely to the Queen. Once you were finished the Queen commented on the events, “My that sounded like quite a lot of trouble, not to mention those people are now without home.” “About that... “ “Hmm?” “Queen Kanon, we would like to request that you continue dealing with the new refugees or perhaps even help them. They are a strong people and I believe they could be an asset to your kingdom, if not an ally.” “Did you come on their behalf?” “No, these are my own personal feelings.” The Queen chuckles, “haha, it seems your reputation proved right, you do truly want to help all don’t you.” “Most anyways,” You definitely not wish to help that strange man or his master, though. That is for sure. “I will consider your opinions, but for now, I will send a few of my own to watch after and act as emissaries.” “That is fair your highness.” “Well now that the business has been sorted out I would ask of you all, what do you wish your rewards to be? You discussed arms last time, but we also have fine crafts and coin.”

“We are simply requited with gear, arms, and armor, we do not require much in the way of other items.””Very well then….” She stops and just looks in your direction. It was quite an odd pause to be sure. If she is spacing out you should try to pull her back to reality,“Sooooooooo….” “So I will find a smith post haste!” “I’ll get him!” Melo darts outside. “The queen sighs, with her on the case it might take a while, I’ll send a guard to ensure both their returns.” “Thank you.”

It did end up taking about 30 minutes for the two to actually come back. “I told you I was looking for the master smith and he wasn’t there!” “You were searching near the dark elf town!” “It was an honest mistake.” Melo is getting grilled by the guard who had to track both her and the smith down. The man next to the two of them you figured was the smith but he seemed quite young, maybe he was an apprentice sent because the master was busy or something.

The queen clears her throat, “Ahem, I present to you all Wilhelm, master smith at our village,” The surprisingly young harpy smith bows,“A pleasure.” You are kinda surprised. He notices. “I can see your surprise at my age with the title of master smith, but I assure you I can handle the task.” The queen speaks up, “Wilhelm may not look it but he is capable beyond his years. He fashions arms and armor for all my warriors.” “That is quite impressive.” “Thank you,” The harpy accepts your thoughts. You were a bit confused though, “Don’t get me wrong your majesty or Wilhelm I though the goblins would be the master smithers? They deal with minerals far more than you do?” Wilhelm explains, “We request the goblins send us the minerals and we refine them for our crafts, the same goes with arms and armor as they tend to be less, elegant crafters that don’t fit harpies for combat.” Interesting, He continues “But do not worry for I will craft custom arms and armor for all of you, as you want them designed.” “Wow, that certainly is generous.” The queen joins in “That is just Wilhelm, he takes great pride in his works and there was no way he would pass up an opportunity to craft for so many different species at once.” The master smith admits, “Honestly madam I am quite excited.”
You will now design arms and armor for each of the characters. Would you all rather go through each on individually or just do all of them at once in a mad flurry? I am fine with either.

Sorry guys I was 3/4 into the post already, but your idea for custom arms and amor stays though

>>
>>464476
Adrian "I want something bold something heroic. I want it to look like-"
Everyone "Make him look like a monkey"
>>
>>464476
Victoria: Full body knight type armor as she is the only strong enough for that.
Adrian and Yuki: Light Armor as they need movility.

Us: Our body keeps changing so we need an armor that takes that into account or the chest plate and near might end being too tight.

The rest? Well, no clue.
>>
>>464476
MC
Sword. Heroes use swords. Medium armour, something like scale mail or a breastplate. No shield we have magic off hand.

Yuki
Medium Armour, something like scale mail or a breastplate. Give her a nice Halberd to replace her glaive. Better Crossbow or a bow.

Victoria
Javelins. lots of Javelins. She could also use some light armour, leather or a chain shirt or the like. Don't want to weigh her down.

Anna
Heavier armor, Plate if available. Some one handed melee weapon, sword or axe maybe a mace or hammer. And a shield

Aki
Medium Armour, something like scale mail or a breastplate. No weapon she has enough natural abilities.

Adrian
Light Armour, Leather or maybe a chain shirt. A rapier. Fancy suits hims.

Rozalin
A better lance and maybe a sword or axe. Probably a breastplate for the more human half then like medium barding for the horse half.

Imps
Probably nothing. Armour would weigh them down and they are effective with natural weapons. Maybe just daggers if anything.
>>
>>464516
Victoria is gonna be our dark knight? Make sure her armor looks scary.

Yuki needs both mobility and defence so light armor it is.

Adrian should have something that nakes him look like the Monkey King From Journey to the West

Aki should have middle armor as she needs defence for when she does her stare and as a monster can carry more weight.

Us: Adjustable armor is a must.

The Imps: Light and silent armor plus ninja gear.
>>
>>464534
>>464516
While Victoria could wear heavy Armour. It tends to be restrictive and she is a thrower which needs mobility. Which Is why I suggest light armour or maybe medium. Offers little restriction while still being armour.

Also protect the Medic Yuki should have heavier armor than light. We also have adrian to move people if they go down.
>>
>>464505
I don't get why everyone does monkey. He should have fancy clothes and like a frilly shirt. Like a pompous nobleman
>>
>>464524
Anna is not the Oni girl, the Oni girl Victoria. Anna fights smarter not like a tank.

She is also not the strongest character and her style relies in disabling the oponent. So heavy armor would suck for her.
>>
>>464476
MC - Medium-Heavy armor, mostly chainmail with Plate armor on the chest and such. Our weapon can be a scimitar and a parrying dagger.
Perhaps some scorpion-looking armor since we had the most success at that location. We got captured with the sirens initially, fucked up due to the lack of communication with the fishes and with the Baeloric quest we were crippled.
>>464541
Why not both?
>>
>>464539
Yuki needs to be able to move. If she needs to hurry to heal someone then the heavy armor is bothersome.

Also Anna style would not work if her armor was too heavy.
>>
>>464539
Personally I think Victoria should go armor less. Protection just doesn't seem to fit her personality. Anna can make her Spears so ordering them seems moot. She should have a weapon on standby if the enemy gets too close. I'd recommend gauntlets or cestuses. But thinking back to her oni outfit I think a kanabo would be just her style too
>>
>>464545
The Monkey King is both fancy and a monkey.
>>
>>464551
Why not both? Gauntlets and Kanabo.
>>
>>464543
She does tend to fight on the front lines a lot which I why I suggest heavy armour. If more people think that she should have medium I am fine with that as well.

>>464549
Again protect the Medic. While light does offer the most mobility. It also offers the least protection. If Yuki is down we have no healing. Which Is why I suggest medium. Nice happy middle ground.

>>464551
I completly forgot about cestus. We should give her thoses. Or atleast some heavy gauntlets.

I don't think she should have a kanabo though. She is quite good with her fists. You can see it in her stats and in combat

And armourless does make sense. But I still think we should give her some protection. Just as a backing.
>>
>>464551
But with heavy armor she can headbutt people and make it hurt, plus she is brawler.
>>
>>464564
Yes she can brawl and is quite good. but she is better at throwing, she auto-hits. And heavy armour is restrictive making it harder to throw weapons. Also as Anon said earlier she isn't really to protective type. She tends to just smash through things so heavy armour wouldn't be her style.
>>
The Imps are ninja so light armor that makes the less noise posible and ninja gear. Plus arrows for their crossbows.

Can we agree to not give anyone heavy armor unless they are a super strong monster like an oni?
>>
>>464545
>>464556
Fancy makes sense for the Character. And being called a monkey is kind of insulting and cruel.
>>
>>464579
Fine, no one gets heavy Armor unless they become really freakufreaking strong.

Victoria: Medium Armor

Us: A sword and medium adaptative grow with us armor or we are screwed if we keep growing.

Imps: Light armor, crossbows bolts and ninja gear.

Adrian: Monkey King light armor.

Yuki: Medium Armor

Everyone else: Light Armor unless they prefer light.

Victoria gets a heavy stell or iron club.

We get a sword.

Imps get crossbows

Adrian gets a bo staff.

Bicorn gets no weapon.

Something else?
>>
>>464590
I meant medium armor unless they prefer light.
>>
>>464590
Rozalin should get a weapon. Like a lance and a sword. Otherwise she is just a horse. And she is not just a horse. She has hands and stuff.

Also still think being called a monkey is insulting. Adrian is much more a fancy nobleman. He has been wearing the jewelry he stole this entire time. That says noble, not monkey.
>>
>>464583
And we still want to cal him a monkey.
>>
>>464590
Eh.
Victoria: Medium Armor that looks menacing + Kanabo and Gauntlets
Us: Medium-Heavy Armor (Mostly chainmail with plate for the chest and such, could look like a scorpion or something) + Sword and Parrying Dagger
Imps: Light Armor + Crossbow, Bolts and Ninja Gear
Adrian: Monkey King Light Armor decorated with jewels + Bo Staff
Yuki: Medium Armor
Bicorn: Chainmail + Lance and Shield
Everyone Else: Whatever
>>
>>464564
Her brawler mentality is why she should not wear heavy armor. Despite convention wisdom saying if you want your heavy hitter to hit harder put more weight behind them it is actually more effective to make them hit faster with the same mass. That's another reason why I suggested no armor. Cestuses also make perfect sense for being a brawler a close second being regular gauntlets. And historically speaking gladiators using cestuses could usually down a man in a single blow.

Side note we should really figure out what do do with her telepathy
>>
>>464601
You never read Journey to the West, have you?

A fancy monkey king is still a monkey.
>>
>>464603
Yep. People still do. Personally I wouldn't be surprised if he snaps at some point from bring called a monkey so often. I mean he straight up hit Mother. He has been known to snap and actually get stuff done.

>>464608
Never read it. Been meaning to. But I am suggesting completely drop the monkey thing. Go fancy man.
>>
>>464607
We can convince her on the medium armor for the headbutts and amusing injuries she can do with it alone.

And that is that or keep going with the Oni costume.
>>
>>464606
Why do you keep suggesting parrying daggers. That takes up a hand, a hand we need for punching people with dark energy.
>>
>>464612
That was after months, we haven't been teasing him that long. And we did congratulate him for doing a good job.

We will drop the monkey thing if he really gets angry about it or asks us to please not do it anymore.
>>
>>464632
Ok. We should have the fancy man outfit spare though. He will look good as a fancy man. Can't grow the requite facial hair but that can be worked on.
>>
>>464630
We can ask for a belt and scabbards for the sword and parrying dagger.
It's a nice weapon just in case we get disarmed.
>>
>>464632
>>464637
Eh, googling Sun Wukong armor, the armor typically shown seems to be fine. I doubt Adrian knows about Journey to the West.
>>
>>464640
As a backup weapon it works, but only as that.

Our bicorn could get knifes, as anything else would be troublesome if we need her as a mount.
>>
>>464644
We saw one of the many cartoons based on it. Plus is a stealth joke, we don’t tell him is the Monkey King armor so he just thinks is fancy.
>>
>>464646
Why not a shield and a lance, she's half-horse? I doubt that would make it troublesome to get onto.
>>
>>464640
It is not a matter of carrying it around it is battle. A parrying dagger takes up the hand we use for magic.
And If we want a back up then just a normal dagger would be better. Bigger, meant more for stabbing and less for parrying.

>>464646
But when she is not a mount she should still be able to fight. Which Is why would should arm her like a knight. Lance, sword, Some armour and the like
>>
>>464654
It's a backup weapon or when we don't need to use dark magic.
>>
>>464651
If you are going to try the fancy clothes joke why not just straight up do the kings clothing?
>>
>>464654
Knight centaur is us then,,but with a saddle so we can ride her.
>>
I'm giving people another 15minutes to figure things out. Then I will type up results
>>
>>464658
Again for a back up i suggest bigger knife. But the when we don't use magic arguement makes sense. I agree with you we should take a parrying dagger.
>>
>>464662
Oh a saddle is a must. We really don't have the skill to be bare back riding all the time.
>>
>>464660
Because we still need him to get defensive armor. Plus we are 12, we DON’T want to see him naked.
>>
>>464671
I'm just saying if you are going to make him the butt of a joke go big or go home
>>
>>464665
Two daggers then.
>>
>>464668
Yes, specially over an armored equine.
>>
What type of sword should we get?
>>464606
And besides Adrian, along with Rozalin getting a saddle, everyone in favor of this?
>>
>>464680
I'd prefer cestus over gauntlets for Victoria
>>
>>464674
He saved people we care about, don't be a jerk. Calling him a monkey is one thing, getting him naked just so the harpies kill him by snub snub is a tad too much.
>>
>>464680
Sword wise, standard short sword. Long sword being a little two long and not great if we want to use something in out off hand, like magic or a dagger.

Also still for light or no armour for Victoria but the rest looks good if we combine it with whatever else we said.

Sorry for the mess QM
>>
>>464680
Short sword, if they get close enough for melee it means our magic failed or is not available.

Plus that works well for a beginner like us.
>>
>>464687
I was actually arguing the point Adrian should get some actual armor and not look like a monkey. Reflecting on it he has precognition his armor is mostly going to stay intact regardless of how heavy it is
>>
>>464693
Medium armor even if we have to press gang her and tell her amusing injuries she can do with it to Yuki's horror.
>>
What blade type should we get for our short sword?
>>464700
Just give him the armor Sun Wukong gets decorated with jewels. It's subtle and protects.
>>
>>464703
A two edge standard short sword
>>
>>464701
We had too many close calls due to lack of proper armor so I agree.
>>
>>464703
Jewels are the opposite of subtle
>>464701
Still against it. Too much wieght and she need to stay agile so she can throw and swing punches.
>>
>>464712
Subtle as for the monkey part and Victoria seems to be more of a brute.

For our parrying dagger we should have a swordbreaker.

Swordbreaker yes.

Also brutes tend to wear lighter armour, mainly because it is just hides. Also heavy hitter, light armour it is a classic of berserkers and barbarians everywhere.
>>
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blade
What type of blade for our sword?
>>464733
I think we're still discussing.

There is suck a thing as armored brute, is usually called a Tank or mighty glacier.
>>
>>464746
I was saying we should go for an armored brute.
>>
>>464746
Yep. And if Victoria was a tank I would be the first to suggest heavy armour. She is more a barbarian or berserker.
>>
>>464748
And counting you there is at least three that like the idea.

>Thinking Victoria would be a good tank

She can hurl a spear and throw punches. She isn't the type to just let people beat on her. She'd fail as a tank.
As retarded as it sounds Adrian would make a better tank because he ain't going to get hit and he'd taunt the shit of the enemies for it

So I know I said I would cut it off in 15 minutes 35 minutes ago, but I really like the discussion you all are coming up with. I want this to run until tomorrow since people come to post overnight and throughout the day. We might reach bump limit in that time, so I will archive the thread as it is now and update it if I have the opportunity tomorrow after work.

Either way, tomorrow will be a new thread regardless.

It seems the winners are:

MC: Doubleblade shortsword
Victoria: Medium Armor
>>
>>464825
Interesting. Then again if they are paying for three separate internet connections to post on a single qst thread. Then they are truly wasting there money. Just spend it on solid gold. Much better investment. Also you have gold. Which is great.
>>
>>464828
Proxies and phones are a thing.
>>
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blade
And by blade I mean, what type of shape for it.
>>
>>464830
Makes sense. Though it seems like a waste of time to me. And ruins the spirit of the whole thing.

>>464833
I think that is starting to get too in depth with what sword we take. Its a short sword so think arming sword. Basic simple. We don't really need to spend time messing with small variables. This isn't complicated combat.
>>
I been trying to post in this thread for forty minutes and I lost a lot of text due to a bad connection. Hence why I copy pasted the two votes I did.

Anyway even if you count mine and two others as a single vote there is at least two other votes for doublesword and that leaves the votes for light or medium armor in a draw. Since some people left but had said they wanted that.

This is a 3G connection and it sucks.
>>
Tonight's session is being delayed until 6:45 - 7 PM PST. I got home a bit late from work and I am working on everyone's armor. New thread tonight for sure still.
>>
>>467464
So what are the current results for each character?
>>
>>467542
MC :Adaptive armor and a double bladed shortsword I think this might be for the edge factor given they use dark magic but I don't know why people did pick a scythe instead in that case

Yuki: Medium armor, Halbered and a Crossbow/Bow

Anna: Medium armor, pair of short swords in case oh shit moments

Victoria: Medium armor, Cestus and a Kanabo

Aki: Medium armor, natrual weapons suffice

Adrian : Fancy Sun Wukong

Rozalin: Knight weapons and armor

Imps: Daggers if anything
>>
>>467559
For MC, people generally agreed for >>464606
Along with the adaptive part
And there was a person samefagging with proxies most likely.
>>
>>467559
>>467589

>>464769
>>464772
>>464788

>>464815
>>464818
>>464823
It seems that someone was proxying for Victoria's armor and what type of sword we get.
>>
>>467559
So I believe it should be
MC : Adaptive Medium-Heavy Armor (Chainmail with Plate for the Chest and such, looks like a Scorpion for the cool factor) + Shortsword and Swordbreaker Parrying Dagger

Yuki: Medium armor, Halberd and a Crossbow/Bow

Anna: Medium armor, pair of short swords in case oh shit moments

Victoria: Medium/Light armor, Cestus/Gauntlets and a Kanabo

Aki: Medium armor, natrual weapons suffice

Adrian : Fancy Sun Wukong + Bo Staff

Rozalin: Knight Armor

Imps: Light Armor + Ninja Gear, Crossbows and Daggers

Since no one really objected besides for Victoria.
