Greetings! I found about this board yesterday and I lurked for a bit till I saw some of these civ threads. I thought it would be fun if I gave it a shot.

>Rules
no rerolls
vote for other anons

The race is locked as Demon and the image is for reference as other races, I would hope, will pop up.

Dice rolls will be essential role of the game as it determines a good bit. Out of the first 3 rolls i will choose the highest. Crits which is the d# do extra affects to the option of your choosing.
0s, 1s, and low numbers can end poorly depending on the action.

d20s for magic or combat
>spell works and hits
d50s for luck (roll twice before tallied up and locked)
>trade, and deplomancy, scouting, ect.
d100s for civ wide events
>construction and time also large combat

Choosing options will not always need rolls so they will be out of what the majority wants.

>First vote is for location and leader name

The five sets of red eyes pierce the smoke as the great forgotten abominations stand from their knelt position. The front creature's dry blood skin ripples as it's powerful muscles move to it's peak standing 5 heads higher than the tallest man. Horns of the wildest ram and goat sit atop it's head as if it was some sort of twisted crown. The air around it sets fire and the smoke withers away as if fear itself motivated the soul.

The creature, no a demon plainly seen, looks around the torch-lit dungeon and sees twelve hooded figures standing around him and his four dark companions. The demon sets his gaze upon a lone figure as it steps away from its group toward him.

The red wonder bellows a deep gravelly inquire, "What do you want?" almost as if the voice alone commanded the other figures kneel before the great demon and the lone one removes his hood revealing it too has a pair of horns yet not a demon but a tiefling.

"I only want to service you and you service us." The teifling said. " I am here to offer you a treasure and i merely ask you to take what was lost"

"What do you speak of?" the demon demanded.

"land."

The demon raises a brow and narrows his eyes on the face of the teifling. "continue."

They speak of a nearby realm of man who cast out the teiflings 3 years prior and much of the main religion has been broken as the teiflings scattered and the demon worshiping banned from the realm of man. They ask for help from the demons they devoted their lives to for help in reclaiming what community they've lost. They give the demon command of their encampment and puts all hope as the demon agrees upon blood oath.

The Demon explains his name is Roc, an ancient name given by his enemies, and asks for the tiefling, known as Baskalon, to show him about. The dungeon itself is small and the horns scrape the roof of the curved stone as he follows the nimble teifling.

There is a large circular room where the five demons first spawned from. and there are four entrances leading to four rooms, north is a storage, south is a resident area of sorts for the teiflings, east leads to a room that has a ladder unfit for a demon of Roc's size and the west is another larger room with occultist sigils and melting candles that lead to a bloody stone altar with a leather bound book of spells. Baskalon explains to Roc that the building is submerged underground beneath a hill. From the hill south is a week's journey to the bay city of Domnir and east there is a large tower that is named iron peak as it is mysterious as it is stable. To leave the dungeon is to break the only entrance and exit that protects and hides the cult.

From what Roc gathered there is only about two and a half weeks of rations for the teiflings and near to no easy access of souls for the demons to gather strength.

Roc walks the halls of his new-found base and sees the grains of the grey stone. The Teiflings watch their now branded leader familiarize himself with the surroundings. Roc walks to Baskalon, his previous companion and the one who presented the offer, and asks of him how he is doing.

"I'm ecstatic, pure ecstasy. The others await for much of what to come and we've been waiting for 2 years since we started this endeavor of revenge," Baskalon says as he helps finalize a boxing of some grain. " two years," he repeats. " you know there where about forty of us when we started, now look at us -- twelve. I think this is the best news we've had for years. Ever since three years ago with the genocide the men enacted."

Roc looks around and the other teiflings seem they have just been to;d of a dead dragon with a fortune once lived outside their home and are ready to just take that pile.

Forty tieflings now twelve? what happened Roc did not know.

Roc persuasively tells the teiflings that the base is good but to expand they must leave. with the food being short and the lack of souls they need to find resources to fuel their revenge. Baskalon gathers his group and Roc tells the other Greater demons to help with exploration. 4 teifling, 2 daggers an axe and the hammerer stay behind to keep the base secure as that is their supplies for now. Roc Gathers his strength and with his massive wings push against the roof of the entrance. he breaks the stone and as the dust settles the rest of the group leaves.

Roc and his entourage in tow head in the direction of a clearing. Baskalon notes that there is a road a couple hours out south that eventually leads to the bay but now they know time isn't the greatest as it is dusk. the base itself is in a secluded area of ruins near a bundle of trees at the edge of the plains.

Roc tells two of the demons to fly up and see what he can see. The demons nods to his lord, as Roc is a demon lord, and lifts up into the sky with power moving the red robes of the cultists. As the duo of delight come back down they confirm there is a road south and that they saw a small fire not too far off of the road itself. Also seems that the forest the base is located near is the only way through to the other side. Seems someone or something is settling for the night as it creeps.

Roc decides the best course of action is to move south to the road and it's travelers. The teiflings and demons begin their trek to the road and much of the forest they see only small game like squirrels and rabbits. no hogs, no cattle, though it is to be expected the plains would have a more of the larger scale creatures like easily domesticated large beasts of burden. The forest itself is an uneventful walk toward the ever closer fire.

Every step, every crunch, every march is being favored by the teiflings as they have waited 3 years for this event, an event to sling-shot them into power. petty crimes may not seem as a large step forward but being a teifling and hated by any other race it is comforting to have hope.

The demons march ever so forward.

The group come to a clearing with a rock outcropping about an hour away from the fire. The teiflings seem a little worn from the walk but if they set camp now they could recover before dawn. Roc orders another demon to cut down a few trees and place them around the camp. The Group begins unpacking and starting a fire underneath the stone to try to conceal the camp's flames. the eight Teiflings set tents and sleeping rolls around the fire. much of the group is resting, the demons need rest, however little. The fire burns out through the night and the camp seems secure for the time being

The moon is rising and the night stirs to life inside the forest.

Howls and hoots call throughout the night.

Come dawn the camp is up. A quick head count shows one teifling is missing, seems something carried it away along with his gear.

After a rest in the inhabited forest they rise to find a member of their party missing. It takes forty minutes to find the missing member. The body was hunched over leaning against the base of a large tree. Blood pooled around the bottom of the corpse and it was almost unrecognizable except the tale tell signs of horns protruding his crown. He was missing both legs and much of the right side as it looks as a wild beast tore threw him like paper. The male teifling, one of the dagger wielders, is dead.

The sun is just beginning to creep across the sky so the party decides it is best to start packing things up and try to rush over to the last sighting of the additional camp. After remembering what direction they where heading they start off without a trace they where there.

The walk wasn't rough but it takes nearly a hour until they start to hear signs of another presence. Metal clings, sound of creaking wood and humans speaking lightly. Roc tells the party to start getting quite as they near the edge of the opposing camp. From what they can see the closest is a human tending to a horse and another one relieving his bladder on tree. They can hear more like the sound of a cart.

Baskalon brandishes his battle ax in preparation for the fight.

Roc bellows a thundering roar and flings himself with his powerful wings at the first enemy he could see with the rest in tow. The demons light up in flames as magic courses their veins as the eve of a battle begins. Roc leaves his sword sheathed and takes the horse by its neck and flies upward. here he could see twenty scared men unsheathing their blades to their surprise. Roc rips the head from the horse and lets it drop to the ground below onto one of the humans. Baskalon takes his ax an in one foul swing cleaves an arm off the first human as a demon takes care of the one pissing on a tree. Like a meteor Roc falls to the ground in front of the next closest human knocking him off his feet to the dirt. Then Roc stomps on him and crushes the lesser creature.

The teifling with the bow pulls back her string and fires, missing it's intended shot but hitting another behind it in the arm. A demon takes one of his swords and severs three of the men to stumps. In this chaos eight other humans die to the combined forces of the teiflings and demons. Blood litters the smoldering battle field, much of the humans were merchants heading to the city in the south.

The five remaining humans drop their weapons. Three flee and the other two run for the cart.

Two demons flank the line of knelt sobbing humans and force them to watch as they take the spoils. Teiflings walk through the bodies and searching each. There where 13 guards in the caravan which all had a spear, sword, and a round shield including their armor which some of the teiflings playfully size it up and place it on themselves. Trinkets of gold and silver where found on many of the dead humans, some even carried runes. The cart was full with spices and two crates of supplies and a lock box.

Upon finding the lock box under a wood panel one of the prisoners tries to stand and scream.

"That's not yours!" The human male drabbed in regal cloths shouts.

Roc walks over to the brave human and stares him down, the human begins to shy away and advert his eyes. Roc picks the human up by the neck and the human squirms in his hand but it was fruitless as he was bound. "It is now, and so are you." Roc takes the iron key from around the human's neck and hands it to the teifling, dropping the human. The teifling then fumbles with the lock and opens the small lock box to find a horn amidst books bound my leather. The horn is not of an animal.

The horn was a teiflings. The books were magic.

This is unsettling news. Moral stays

Roc strides toward Baskalon as he fits himself with an iron breast plate. "You enjoying yourself? It was a good fight, you should," Roc says with his gravelly voice. Roc and Baskalon watch as the rest of the teiflings try on the armor and put the extras in the cart. "What do you think about the lock box and the horn?" The other teiflings fumble around and inspect the major gain they got, much of them seem to be playing around with each other.

"Hmm? oh yes.." Baskalon tears away from the sight of success, " the horn.. " he pauses " it's not unnatural for someone to keep trophies, right? This poor soul must of fallen to someone and that the someone decided that is was good enough to take his horn. It's not like we're the most liked around here. They hate us, they think we are evil and they hunt us like game and kept the trophies on their walls," he pauses again and sighs, "this is the reason I need your help Roc, only a demon lord can bring more of themselves to this plane of existence. This was once our land, we lived here. And I to take it back." Baskalon then says his farewells and helps the rest of his kin.

The sun is moving in the sky. Watching all like some great god sentinel. Ever quite, ever vigilant. The teiflings are ecstatic about the huge win of today.

The group seems eager to continue.

The prisoners look beaten. Their blood and mud soaked garb almost makes it impossible to see what was the original color. They look around, afraid, scared to death, and almost near death. Roc walks to the four petty things and stares at them for sometime before booming, "I've heard what you've done. For the most part I wouldn't care, but this is too much of an opportunity to pass. You understand that? Land is the measurement of one's true power and from the looks of it I own land across the great divide which means power is plentiful. They tell me of what happened three years ago." Roc looks at them pausing as he looks into each of their faces, "And I found this, a token." Roc raises the horn. The one who spoke out earlier stares at the horn as his eyes widen in fear. "I wonder what my token will be."

The demon grabs the man by his neck and raises him, "maybe an ear.. Maybe a tongue.. maybe something more precious." Roc drops the regal man. "Tell me what you know and you can keep it."

The four men begin to fumble their words together.

"one at a time." Roc bellows.

"I-I-I've heard that there are more near those damn ruins in that tower," A young man says.

"I heard that too!" The woman exclaims.

"This road leads to the bay city of Askabar the lord there is a trade prince to the south and to the north is a fort-city that houses more gold and that is also the location where they burn the abominations," the regal man swears.

"This is heresy you fools!" the man in a guards outfit says, "you'll get us all banished." Roc leans closer to him and whispers, "don't worry no one will tell, you're not going anywhere anyways."

The rest of the prisoners begin to be quite. Roc nods and then turns away. This was useful.

Let's return Home to the teiflings at the Cave.
>>
>>55660
for sake of time the group will head home and will not take 2 turns

The group seems ready to begin their trek back to the dungeon. Roc bellows the command to return and the rest of the group follows as is. Tieflings hoist the prisoners onto the cart and strap the horses to pull it. Baskalon hops onto the back of the cart and sits next to the humans. Roc and his four demons march at the rear of the caravan and they begin to walk through the forest. The path is hard on the cart but we lose nothing.

The trip was uneventful except for the sighting of a large pack of bird heading east.

They return to the base within 3 hours making good time.

The four tieflings that was left behind are healthy and are happy to see the return of the group. You explain the disappearance and expected loss of a tiefling and discussed the items we gathered.

Depends on what door you are knocking on. But souls are also needed to sustain a demon.
And where do you get souls? From sentient beings.. like humans.

We need resources. As of now we have no wood, stone, or metal

I'm also back, but I'm kinda tired because I got like 4 hours of sleep last night.
>>
>>60612

Alight, then we first need to find some resources

>A Leave
Lets scout around the area to see what resources are out there.
Can Roc just fly and tell us what he can see?
>>
>>60681
yeah he can fly.
>>
>>60695

It would be easier if he can just fly and just get a general look at what resources we can take. From there are people can go fetch the stuff.
>>

>>60681
sorry was watching Dawn of War III announcement trailer

and sense everyone wants to look for resources we will

Roc looks around the area and now that there is no chance the tieflings will die in the next month he goes above. The tieflings unpack the goods and put them in the storeroom. The prisoners are set in the room with the altar and kept watched. Roc lifts himself into the air with his powerful set of demonic wings. His tabard flops in the wind as he gets to a suitable looking point in the blue sky. Looking around he quickly spots and confirms the base below him and the road to the south. A forest, the one he previously traversed, separating the two. To the north and where the base sits edge to is a plains where he sees beasts roam. He however sees no suitable stone source, but sense the base itself is submerged into the ground it shouldn't be that much of a challenge. The nearest form of structure is the road but Roc does spot another building, or an outline of a stone building, past the plains north which looks to be a ruin. The tieflings finish unpacking the cart and ties the horses to trees outside.

The view is grand. Roc, amidst the clouds, breaths in taking in all of it's glory. Soon, his glory.

The party has discovered new areas!

Roc Strides thirty yards north east to a hill. He looks around and with a nod he slams a stake into the soil as a marker. The party does not have any mining tools however this seems like a good place to start a mine as there is a rock jutting out of the top of the hill. The hammer can knock off bits but nothing of large quantity and seems like a hard labor for a small gain.

Roc returns to the base.

Roc explains in order to expand our base we need to being gathering materials from the forest. Baskalon grabs the three axes and hands two to other tieflings to bring them to the forest where they begin cutting down the trees south of them. They take the cart and two horses to pull it while they gather logs.

The two tieflings and Baskalon busy for the next two turns.

well, our Leader Roc knows summoning demons.

We also have three Tiefling magic wielders who know little.
I'm going to say the tiefling mages have a small amount of fire magic.

>Fire Bolt: [hits at d20 18-20, fails horribly at 1-6]
>Fire Enchant: [Buff, adds flame damage to weapons, Works on 19-20, no fail]

Roc requires souls to summon a demon.
1/2 soul for hell Hound:
1 soul for Imp:
2 souls for Lesser Demon:
8 Souls for Greater Demon:
Not full list because I haven't full thought it through

Roc decides that with what they gathered from the cart the books we have gathered seem important to start to research into what it is. The three tiefling mages gather at the altar and begin to sift through the pages returning to the central book and returning to the others. The Mages work hastily in excitement of finding new and interesting expanses on their own magic they have required they skip pages due to their haste.

The Mages find items detailing parts of a spell to improve their own 'fire bolt' but need more time.

Roc, after looking through their stores, decides we need more food and some leather for the group. Roc leaves and takes the other demons with him toward the plains in search of those great hairy beasts he saw to the north in the plains. They take flight and quickly find a large group of these beasts. The demons deftly move through the air and strike the creatures bringing down only a few as most of them fled as soon as they saw the red flaming abominations. The beasts had large thick hide and tall hooves. On the males they have three great horns protruding from their crown and the females have four small horns.

Each demon grabs one of the large, dead beasts and brings it back to the base allowing the tieflings to take and butcher them.

The party has found loot!

+ 8 large horns
+ 12 Hide
+ 20 Bones
+ 200 units of food

As the sun begins to roll down the sky Roc decides to explore farther north to what he saw to be ruins. He takes another demon with him to fly to the broken buildings. Once again Roc takes flight into the reddening sky with another demon in tow. The demonic duo move north toward the ruins in the plains. As they near the broken place it seems more and more familiar, the place has similar structure and style to the dungeon the group is occupying. The ruins at a glance have a few structures hear and there but mainly broken stone bricks. As Roc inspects the architecture more deeply he notices runes carved into the stone of an arch that portals into on of the larger rooms. These runes are not of any human language but they seem eerily familiar the more and more Roc stares at them.

The rest of the ruins have empty rooms and looted crates. More and more of nothing. Roc returns to the building with the rune-inscribed arch and begins to explore that. As he enters he feels the wards of the house and he is drawn into it. The buillding seem to be of somthing important as it's walls are stone brick and stone floors with wooden archs and elaborate inscriptions into the crowning. Roc explores the building for a little bit and finds nothing of note expect a back room with it's door locked. Roc decides to break the door down and force breaks through the door to find a set of stairs that leads to a room that was some sort of storage. Roc calls for the other demon and gather as much as they can before finding a single pickax embedded in the wall behind a stack of crates and a few barrels. The pickax has an inscription on the blade of the ax but unable to read it does not try. The demon pulls it off and places it in a crate with some other tools.

The two demons fly back to the base with two crates in each arm. Into the night they soar through the sky to find it back again to the base. Baskalon returns with his two tieflings and the horses with the cart.

The party has found some loot!

+ Mysterious Pickax
+ Crate of tools: A shovel, and various crafting tools
+ Crate of soft metals
+ Crate of trinkets
+ Barrel of Wine

The party Completed a task!

+ 63 Logs
