Welcome to Cultural Evo, the game of MULTIFACETED GROWTH. In Cultural Evo, you will control both a small but growing village, interact with other villages, and watch as your village's culture grows and changes with the years as events force them to grapple with new introductions to their worldview.

Continuing TURN 7.

The prior thread was HERE!

I think it will be more inteligent to start developing writing and educate (both sexes) with writings. We need technology in the future, and educating everyone is the way.
Also build great houses. Privacy will encourage stressed men and woman that work all day fighting, hunting and healing to have sex and increase birth rate.
>>
Ok, so we study water spiders in order to make better boats.
And culturally, we urge people to breed more in order to be more like glorious insects.
>>
Alright, my happy tribesmen. My ideas for this turn:

1) Begin using the ash left over from our sacred flames to cultivate many plants

2) As a cultural action, increase birth rates by insisting that the more people are brought into life, the more happiness there will be

Thoughts?
>>
>>43401
>Implying we're not going to create sun beam death rays using help from our two greatest allies
>>
Sand tribe bros should we do mathematics and architecture next or fermentation and peyote harvest or a different combo of the two?
>>
>>43314
Round ten moves!

Action: Keep training the warriors to ride the deer beasts and use their rudimentary bow and arrows on them whilst hunting

Action: Tree tribe begins creating a rudimentary language based on etches in trees. This is initially used to mark important places in the forest and directions to the village.
>>
>>43399
Well focus on architecture, you will need it for furnaces and walls, maybe start buildings forts, houses.
You can later on use metals to make arrows and bows with the help of sand tribe fiber, you would still need feathers.
>>
>>43428
As what i can join?
>>
>>43425
We could also try and establish connections with the tree tribe
>>
>>43421
Shouldnt we first make boats before making them better? Or we investigate them and replace tge spider with a boat or something idk
>>
Tree tribe starts carving stories into their trees and bows and hieroglyphics forms!
>>
What now Sandbros? We've got cacti farms and we've herded lizards. I suggest reseaching more advanced masonry so we can create sturdy structures and a strong wall.
>>
>>43399
So.... Ore friends, what now? Im thinking for Action we should either improve the home base and start forting up, or try and make weapons.

Culture is up in the air
>>
(on main comp now)

I vote for removing rocks from a designated flat area that has grass growing on it, so that we can slowly develop agriculture and increase biomass.

My cultural vote goes towards the belief that we need to put our shit in the designated rock-free areas so that it becomes softer.
>>
>>43446
If their is less than three people you could join our tribe as whatever. The names are mostly meaningless.
>>
After boats, what should we do?
Bows for tribal action seems like a majority vote.
I was thinking, since people have been throwing war threats recently, maybe we should gain a cultural perk? Maybe something like "Black Widow: Female spiders are usually bigger and stronger than their male counterparts, only female mires are drafted into the army"
Maybe they could get some sort of bonus attack against males, y'know because of head eating.
>>
>>43451
Eh, I think we can just jump straight into making good boats., considering our royal overlords have shown us how.

>>
>>43399
So keep going for bronze next turn?
How about some population stuff?
>>
>>43459
But we like rock! Why would we want to remove them.

Also, I think this is kinda purposeless.... I mean we have fishers and penned goats
>>
>>43451
Water spiders are the boats, I just supposed since we are investigating those, we could just skip the canoes. If we cant we should focus on something else.
>>
>>43461
As you say.
>>
>>43455
Sand tribe worker look at this
We could change fermentation for pickling and increase our food stores more
>>43428
>>
>>43423
I'd agree about the ash but seeing as we live in only a brush-ridden area, unlike some of those beautifully flammable areas like the tree lands and the grass lands, we really can't start that many fires nor get that much ash.

I propose instead setting a trade route and eternal friendship with the sand tribe, it seems both our tribes are worshipers of the Sun.

I agree with you on your second point, I also believe we should reproduce as much as possible, for the soul is the greatest most incandescent fire and to give birth is the most beautiful fire and the most beautiful joy.
>>
>>43463
You people have forgotten about bowlers and stuff. Surely thats more Spider like in the fact it traps prey in what could be silk ropes.
>>
>>43453
>>43431
What if stories are carved into the trees and then the trees are used as landmarks and the trees start getting arrows that point to other trees, so then hieroglyphics starts to form.
>>
>>43463
Speaking of female spiders
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gkj8EH78lxE
How's that for a cultural trait?
>>
>>43476
There are no giant spiders currently, we are trying to study the sailing spiders and imitating their techniques in our boats.
>>
FUN GLOBAL EVENT TIME, EVERYONE STOP YOUR SHIT

EVERY 5 TURNS FROM NOW ON, THERE WILL BE FUN GLOBAL EVENT TIME, WHERE SOMETHING HAPPENS TO EVERYONE, FUCK YOU.

IN THIS FUN GLOBAL EVENT TIME, MASSIVE EARTHQUAKES ROCK THE LAND. EVERY CULTURE CAN INTERPRET THESE EARTHQUAKES DIFFERENTLY, BUT THEY ALL OPEN UP VARIOUS CHASMS TO MASSIVE UNDERGROUND RUINS, WITH REMNANTS OF PAST CIVILIZATIONS. EXPLORING THESE RUINS WILL GRANT YOU TWO RANDOM CULTURAL BOONS, BUT CONSUME YOUR CULTURE ACTION FOR THE TURN. THE DECISION IS UP TO YOU.
>>
>>43342
I was too late. Good luck orebro
>>
>>43320
>>43369
We dont need so many warriors yet. We are not going to war anytime soon. What we need now is knowledge. Then we can make better tools, better houses, better armour, war strategies, shit that we can use to trade with other tribes, etc
>>
>>43463
Only girls in the army??? Idk we could just colonise the myterious red isle
>>
>>43489
That is basically what I did. It's just the beginnings of language it doesn't move on into full hieroglyphics in just one round.
>>
>>43481
Fermentation is key for trade with the Brush tribe though, I say research masonry and how to tan lizard hides for armour and clothing.
>>
Where my tree bros at? I wanna ink you up.
>>
>>43499
THE PURSUIT OF KNOWLEDGE WILL DRIVE US FORWARD
>>
>>43473
it's not purposeless. By moving rocks from a designated area we can place them somewhere else so that there are more rocks close to each other.

The rock free area can help as use rocks better because it produces a better place for goats to eat and they can get bigger. Bigger goats means that we can then use them to help us break rocks and build.

>>43499
fuck it. We explore the underground ruins.

This also helps us realize that we don't need rocks EVERYWHERE.
>>
>>43499
Can we move in down there?
>>
>>43408
and where we supposed to write we first need some material like papyrus (from the rivers) or Parchment (from hide)
>>
>>43499
Mires, lets exchange our tribe action for a cultural one and explore the ruins, and use the original culture action to spider boats
>>
>>43499
We will burrow underground like ants.
I say we enter. Everyone agree?
How do you make the boons random? Cuz I kinda feel like atleast one's gonna be negative anyway.

>>43503
I've been thinking about this too.
>>
>>43484
We cannot even reach the sand tribe, so that is not really an option.

As for ash, we have plenty friend. We have been burning as we please for many years, and the ground is no doubt covered with it. Even if it does not produce the desired result, we still need to up our plant cultivation. It may be the only way we can get a leg up on some of these other tribes.
>>
Mire:
Sail boats + ruins? We can get more babys boon
>>
>>43523
Yeah, we'll explore these ruins but we'll have to make up the culture loss at some point
>>
>>43499
Holy cow. Lets do this:
Culture: explore ruins
Action: Make strong houses with our new tools
>>
>>43523
I got a question, what is that orange island? It looks like it has some things that can help us.
We would need desert trees (If we have) and research woodworking to make boats and get there.

>>
>>43534
YOU CAN ALSO ATTEMPT TO HARVEST SOME SORT OF BOON FROM THE RUINS, SUCH AS AN EXPANDED LIVING CONDITIONS, OR MATERIAL FROM THE RUINS, BUT IT WILL COST YOUR TRIBE ACTION AND MAY FAIL

>>43546
I have a table.
>>
>>43544

>>
>>43518
We should definitely explore the ruins if we are RP a knowledge driven civ then this is what we want.

I think we should do fermentation and then Explore we can do the stuff you suggested next turn. and knock it out all at once.
>>
>>43550
Yea
>>
Tree guys, we exploring the ruins, or keeping the whole cultural revolution by writing going?
>>
>>43559
So
Culture: Explore ruins
Action: Harvest Lizard hides and tan them
>>
>>43542
We can write in the walls or whatever. But now I think we should explore the ruins
>>
>>43550
Yeah let's do it.
Action: Study water spiders to make really good boats.
Culture: Explore the ruins.

Or do we use our action point on the ruins as well?
>>
>>43502
We can say we develop a scholar cast, those with few duel wins (and thus less brain damage) can win honor by being scholars

But I think we should explore the ruins and continue tool development
>>
>>43567

>>
>>43555

>>
>>43570

I still vote for our other action to be the plant cultivation.

I think the tree tribe should interpret this action as as the nature spirits rewarding us for respecting them. We should take their reward of treasure, as it would be disrespectful not to. INTO THE CAVES!!
>>
>>43638
Culture: Explore ruins
Action: Harvest and tan Lizard hides
>>
>>43617
Let's explore the ruins for the boon as one action, and develop writing with the other. It would be like we learned it from the advanced civilization!
>>
>>43586
Yes. We better keep developing our tools. We can make houses later when our tools are better.
>>43588
I think we should first make our society great. With great houese, great tools/weapons and great knowledge. Then we can become better warriors and breed more.

>>43570
Damn, Sand Tribesman from the second half of last thread here, missed my opening...
Just shouting from the sidelines, but ideas we were considering in the last thread:
>Mathematical/mechanics education with the aim of getting better at building/designing shit.
>Make glass with our sand, and fire from Ore-bros. Will hopefully give us a fire source of our own in the bright sun. (Possibly a good gift for Brush in the future
>Bake clay into bricks, for building walls, houses, forts in future.
>Further encouraging reproduction as an opportunity to spread knowledge, and to gain new minds with new ideas.
>Fermenting cactus nectar to allow inebriated philosophy/as a social thing/for occasions.
>Formalise a mutual defence agreement with Ore-bros.

I also think that considering we've made pipes, and Brush are all about dat kush, and we both love the sun, they've got potential to bro up with us.
>>
>>43763
We have no gods

Also other tribes who have decided should start summaring
>>
>>43871
Great! :)
>>
>>43916
Like the idea of scorpion armour, maybe we could tame them and trade them with the Mires, Scorpions are arachnids after all
>>
>>43889
should we just drop both actions on the ruins if they only last a year or stay true blue?
>>
>>43898
are we still deciding?

How long does it even take to just say what we want to do?

It was using both of our actions/culture for ruins.

>>43927
we did it like 10 min ago.
>>
>>43902
>>43876
Hail Berry, Haill the Grass
>>
>>43916
>>43935
And also armor.
Scorpion shells are stacked together into an inner layer of armor, and the cactus is the external shell.
You could also begin an eugenics program to acquire scorpion mounts and demoralize the Mirefags since you got arachnid mounts first.
>>
>>43925
I say we just take stuff up. If it's still safe next year we can go live there.
>>
>>43871
Also, I agree we get as much from the ruins as we can.
>>
>>43721
>implying pussy protectors can stop a war boner.
>>
>>43947
Nah we will be so tech advanced that we can genetically engineer them
>>
>>43847
Glad you got it covered, just wanted to make sure nothing was forgotten.
>Experiment with wood from inside large cacti.
>Search for new flora/fauna in the region (I can't help but feel if we looked around we'd find more than just cacti and lizards).
>By some combination of cactus wood, clay, waxy waterproof cactus skins, and the odd bit of metal, experiment with boats.
And as a wild card suggestion:
>Become inspired by the earthquake fissures and our Ore-bros, and try digging? There's got to be something interesting in the sand... Oil? Minerals? New creatures?
>>
>>43944
We are ruining delving with both actions, unless complaints are had

>>43952
Thats good to. Learn, loot, become better!
>>
>>43944
I wanted to move in, but OP made me worried.
>>
>>43944
Yeah, we should probably increase the speed on this shit. We're 200 replies in this thread and we haven't passed a turn yet.
>>
>>43963
Dude their pussy protectors are actual turantulas
>>
>>43858
I've been posting for tree tribe since the beggining. I think we should talk it over but I've been psuedo-leading the tribe since the start.
>>
When is the next turn?
>>
>>43985
Lol your id sounds like mom y no love
>>
>>43985
Well, I'm down to swear allegiance to you. I'll make suggestions, but ultimately, the decision is up to you! Lead us well, Shaman!

>Become inspired by the earthquake fissures and our Ore-bros, and try digging? There's got to be something interesting in the sand... Oil? Minerals? New creatures?
Not a bad idea

>Search for new flora/fauna in the region (I can't help but feel if we looked around we'd find more than just cacti and lizards).
>By some combination of cactus wood, clay, waxy waterproof cactus skins, and the odd bit of metal, experiment with boats.

I also like both of these

Damn, I'm late..
>>
>>44027
Sadly no currently I dont think, my Ore friend. More advice is always welcome though
>>
Give me your turn summaries, folks! This turn will take a bit more time because of all the dice rolling I have to do here in meatspace to get your random shit.
>>
>>43982
Mire women literally have bugs in their vaginas. Well at least maybe the Treefags will think twice before eating that.
>>
>>44004
No worries. I can't abandon my sand-bros, even if I don't have a formalised role in the tribe.

As a meta-comment, Richard has made these threads so popular I can't help but imagine these becoming one turn/thread in the near future, kek.
>>
>>44041
You should keep each turn update in an imgur album for each turn, so you don't require five posts for each update.
>>
>>44041
Action: Make good quality boats by impersonating water spiders.
Culture: Explore the ruins.
>>
>>44041
>For richard mire:

>>44041
Richard, are there trees like the joshua in the desert or just plants and cacti?

both actions/culture on ruins.

Also could each turn be set as about 10 minutes to discuss amongst our tribe, as opposed to what it is this thread atm?
>>
>>44041
The Brush Tribe needs to spend both actions searching the ruins. They wish to discover the will of God that led them to us.

>>44041
Both Culture and Tribe go to the depths, to seek what lies below

>>44054
That's... A good idea, actually. Is there an image size limit for imgur?

OP how do you plan on working out direct confrontations?

Or maybe a mix of the 2 where relevant factors give more dice to each tribe ?

I just found this thread.
Bush and grasslands are cool as fuck but spiders are my greatest love in real life.

Alright Grass peoples (gender neutral)

I say for culture:
Men raised as women are lacking in honor because they cannot duel, those who do not hear the call of the Gods begin to focus on teaching, passing on the history of our people with oral traditions. On the symmetrical topic of females raised as men, they lack the physical prowess of the males, and to garner more honor with the Gods they focus on a life of healing, along with fighting, becoming warrior medics.

Action: Increase tools?

I think we have to make better tools first. That will allow us to make even better houses. But if you think we already can make good houses I am in.

Inverstigate more into suspension in positions where the penis reaches deeper for better insemination and underwear designed to stop leaking semen.

The grass tribe is on a sort of ideological split. Let's orginize a little.

Action: Find and tame horses, or horse like mounts

This is generally agreed upon, correct?

Maybe we can turn our culture action into something like

Traps cannot duel, but they train archery, or something
>>
>>45145
so action will be the tame of horses and riding of horses
>>
>>45156
If we don't go for the isle we need something to get an edge, we're falling behind all thoses civs with their fancy toys while all we have going on is fetish catering

>>
>>45125
Not sure what to do for next turn, but regarding the animals, I think focusing on lizards over scorpions is smart. For a bunch of reasons:
>We've already started.
>We already get poison from lizards, we don't need to get it from scorpions.
>Imagine how many scorpions it would take to make a single suit of armor from their carapaces. We already collect leather from lizards.
>If we are to try and bed them bigger, that's a lot easier starting with the already larger lizards.
>No need to piss off Mire unnecessarily by killing tons of arachnids.

>>45177
Action: Tree tribe begins to develop language by etching important directions and locations on treed
Cultural: tree tribe begins to Revere rivers since they drain the evil off of bigger bodies of water. Rivers are viewed as purifying and the entire tribe begins washing daily in the streams and rivers inside the forest. It is now thought that large bodies of water lead to the underworld where spirits who weren't eaten by their families go for an eternity of drowning. Never being reborn.

I will actually have to agree with lizards. We need our own unique animal to train. The mire tribe already have spiders. The ore tribe have goats. The tree tribe has deer. The brush tribe has hyenas maybe. and the Grass tribe has horses. Lizards for desert people is just to cool.

Ok, fine, but for this turn, your actions were better than mine, so we go with that.

>our ruins were a drowned catacomb that we think is the underworld now

Also we need language. Our forest is booby trapped to all hell and our warriors are working on being awesome at deer riding and archery.

We need to keep bringing our birth rates up and we need to make sure the forest is healthy since its our source of food. Since we use poo as fertilizer I think we are actually doing better in the agricultural department. But I want tom ake this forest self sustainable in case the sandcrawler or rocksmashers finally get ballsy enough to go to war.

Now our next action I personally think is that our people need to start trying to utilize the plants. Maybe go scouring for plants with health benefits or poisons for hunting.

Our endgame is to create a self sustainable culture. Not war so we need to have a good base on which to build that before we consider expansion or warefare.

Action) Begin building homes with wood, for the land provides and we must use everything it gives us!

Action: The tribe segments off a portion of the forest for the cultivation of berries and other beneficial herbs. Using black fertilizer and basic irrigation techniques involving draining water off of rivers and into the berry patches

Brush seems nice (do we border them?) but i'd recommend we stick to our own land for a while.

I'd recommend that anything that dulls the senses should be shunned, fyi. that would include alcohol or some of the brush peoples'...resources.

No boats. Canoes. We don't do large bodies of water so we don't need boats.

Also- Tree Tribe thinks that trees are spirits. Cutting them down for lodging seems against their religion.
However I think they wouldn't be against making tree forts..
Also where are we behind exactly? This is about developing a culture not about winning.

alligators are impossible to domesticate in the real world fampai

anyway, all junglebros still present, are we decided on immediately getting into storytelling and art? we're nomads already, so lets be gypsy-type traveling artisans.

i recommend our first moves should be a general devotion to the oral arts (general arts later, oral arts is a nice jump from the "sacred tongue") and an acceptance of all good smelling and tasting things and people, hand in hand with a desire to experience and record for future generations all unique sensations. what do you guys think?

Also it's a mutually beneficial situation if we have that while chunk of map on friendly terms.
We have ceramic containers (allows you to drain water into non-evil sized portions at your convenience). We have alcohol, clay to help with tree house building. We could use some wood, vines, etc.

I think we've all agreed on mathematics for one of our next moves then, and to leave our selective breeding for a turn... What else are we picking?
>>
>>45899
Actually I'm still not sleeping but could we pull of a culture hybrid of drow and crocodile dundees?
It's like we got an excuse for being bare chested and wearing tons of leather.
Also got excuses for making partners sit half suberged in water.
One last idea before going sleeping for good:
swamp leeches medicine.

I like this plan for next turn, and (subject to change) the speculative future plans sind good too.

I do think we should make it about the study of selective breeding (in keeping with our scholar theme), and apply the principles to any/all animals we farm, rather than just scorpion eugenics. That way it expands our capabilities (while giving us big ass scorpions) without it just becoming a weird obsession with scorpions/monsters.

Furthermore, with that plan, we'll likely be at least tolerated by most of the continent as an invaluable way of learning about other tribes and their technology. we can probably make do as merchants besides, buying salt from the north to sell to the icemen of the south and so on.

Actually burning the spiders is effective, also silk is highly flammable.
>>
>>46061
so what should our very first turn be?

i'm thinking

culture: based on the sacred tongue and the miracle of sensation, we begin to develop oral storytelling.

Action: I'd say learn how to cook food. Then, combined with our effectiveness as hunters, we will not go hungry in even the most exotic of locales.

however, actually, we could let this be and assume we'll pick it up once we start interacting with the brushfolk, in which case i'd say start working on transport tech.

Agreed, I think it's great to get more meat/leather/poisons/carapace from our farms, as well as some understanding of hereditary breeding/traits. I see that as the main focus of selective breeding stuff, and any majestic/intimidating/useful animals we might produce long term are just a bonus.

Anyone taking it as "lel turn this into a monster fic with giant mega-scorpions" is kind of missing the point of Civ Evo I think?
>>

>>
>>46484
We already have a massive cactus plantation and plenty of lizards to eat. I don't see why we need to make the land more arable when we can trade. Self sufficiency is good, but we need to look at our resources. And decide what our comparative advantage is over the tree tribe.

I love the arable land idea. Make that shit happen. I still can't help but think a cultural trait of trying to understand breeding/hereditary traits, and improve our livestock continually (but better worded) would be much more efficient than going down the "this turn we'll try and make our lizards bigger, next turn we'll make our scorpions bigger" route.

We could use archimedes screw, maybe the ore tribe can help or we can use wood to implement it, artificial rivers or for pipes.

You would need serious woodcrafting/metal smithing abilites to build something like that, and probably acquire engineering knowdlege first
>>
>>46633
until this one i thought you'd turned the nose sash into a blindfold and i thought your eyes were eyebrows

which honestly brings up an interesting idea: a daredevil-style sensory-heightening practice goes with our natural hunting skills well and wouldnt impede our storytelling and sensory awareness in the slightest. how about all junglefolk aspire to transcend their eyesight completely and see the world as it truly is, through our other senses?

there would then be a relationship between how often you blindfold yourself and your rank in society, with the elders most likely never taking their blindfolds off or perhaps removing their eyes.

i'm getting all world-buildy about these guys, i love it <3

Ore tribes is trying too hard to be dorfs.
Brush tribes are the mad max version of teletubbies up to the sun cult.
Jungle civ can be torn apart by someone putting anchovies on a communal pizza.
>>
>>49260
You yourself said that we wern't getting any trade! That you were traipsing through our land as fast as you could to avoid us! Either trade with us, like you do with everyone else, or pay the land-pass tax of 20%!
>>
>>49336
We ARE trading with you! If we aren't, why are there two trade lines going to your village icon? We are only going faster in your region because we're scared you will season us with pepper and salt and fucking eat us in our sleep!
>>
>>49336
>>49260

I feel like ore and sand tribes need to deal with tree tribes extortionism because they would literally be the reason they dont get exotic trade from across the forest.

>>
>>49360
That would be cool, but i think we NEED to make them boats!!!! We can do 3 things i think, 1.go full army and make bows and battle ship, we will have the biggest water army in the world 2. Go full trade and make bigger boats and start being as neutral as possible 3. Say fuck it and sail to that red isle and just risk it
>>
>>49374
So we can be british drows and conquer the island later (or take it by force once one chump activated the trap card if they try to beat us to it),
dutch drows and trade dope with the strayans,
or drow drows and anger Lolth or something.

I think my opinion is permetaing but I'll leave it like that
>>
>>49346
we aren't, trade lines are not established yet because is turn consuming we need the horses to reach the entire island, the only real trade lines are here >>45744
>>
>>49366
Thanks. Took me 9000 years in MSPaint
>>
>>49388
Also the trade lines are hypothetical. Tree tribe seems cool with us, so maybe we can be the 3rd party in the tree - sand / ore hate relationship and try to make both parties happy.

We also have the best medicine

I suggest once we finish the horses we keep researching our honey based medicine so we can use it as a bargaining chip to trade with other people. Soon we can sell silk / tree barks to Ore / Sand tribes and ore / bricks to Mire / Tree / Brush tribes ;^)
>>
>>49422
Pretty much, it's the only short term option to not fall behind too much on power level. Culture is fine and dandy but ore, grassland ans sand people are going for the traditional civ developpments.
But then, it's also good for culture, big ships with tons of seils will do wonders in our knowledge of knots for suspension sex.
>>
>>49430
You guys should really work on population.
>>
>>49422
Or even better we make boats and we make the mire fking awfull, we set up traps and poisoness things everywhere so no one can cross it, then we sell the boats to whoever want to bypass the mire, muahahahha
>>
>>49430
Metal weapons tech from Ore would be mighty important
>>
>>49430
Yes. I will say this.
Tame horses>Make better medicine>start trade routes>make nice houses>focus on makea better army
>>
>>49439
>>49440

Yeah, metal is essential if we cant to armour up and make swords. Silk can be worn by the Grass Royalty and tree branches can go into making archers
>>
>>49436
We could do the thing with ropeways to haul boats across and sell only boats designed to use the ropeways, that way they do not get acess to our secret spider sanctuaries deeper in the mire.

>>
>>49447
you can get boats to cross the mire and visit human visitors areas, the rest of the mire is not to be troubed with unwanted humans, the presence of the mire people is already a burden on the perfect lifeforms.
>>49452
well they can still make oars but we'd make flat bellied boats. That's some can get to the island if they really want but can't compete with better boats shit.

>>
>>49458

>>

>>

>>
>>49471
Uhh, there's bows, taking better care of childrens by wrapping them in silk, doing the ropeways for fast travel/outsider boats and we could connect the ropeways to some communications threads so we could know by feeling movement who is using what ropeway.
>>
>>49489
wich by the way, better boats includes making sails and outsider boats includes actually building the ropeways, so that's two actions.

Uh, I'm not really sure, but since we have honey it's logical to assume we have bees. I see where you're going with this. We can also throw in a bunch of grassland insects to trade with the Mire for their silk and textiles. Honey Medicine will be used to trade with everyone else including Mire.

Us fortress dwarves are naturally turned off by the eating of thinking creatures, but we've also been known to trade with baby snatching goblins in the past so I'm sure it can be done.

The problem is I don't trust tree-folk and I don't see how that's going to change. They are making weapons so we are making weapons so they are going to get war mounts then what. Maybe it will stabilize and we will all just sit around with war goods waiting for the other to make a move.

I guess at long as we both think the other is not ready to attack us we can focus on improving the tribe, but I have no other solutions.

How many people do we have in Sand Tribe right now?
>>
>>50021
I get that, especially considering you have such a huuuuge border with Tree. Nobody is suggesting that we give up on improving weapons and defences, these things can be useful tech even outside of a war (for hunting, better shelter, etc.). I just think that the region is likely to stabilise a lot faster if we foster mutually beneficial trade relationships with others. Nobody wants to wipe out their neighbour who sends them really cool tech.

I also think that as the two tribes who are already in alliance (that provides us both with additional security, as well as useful tech) we've got a bit of a platform to speak from when it comes to improving relations.

Our agenda tends to be learning and discovering. Some of our goals that we've been going for have been:
>Maths/mechanics education
>Smelt some sand to make glass with Ore-bros
>Use mechanics knowledge and bricks to make mighty houses
>Make some kind of cement with all this sand?
>Cultural mindset of breeding as a means of improving creatures (lizards, scorpions, people(?))
>Some kind of cultural trait to emphasise use of our poison and blowdarts for improved hunting? Maybe every citizen mast craft one and carry it at all times?
>Try and persuade various tribes to share tech for mutual benefit.
>Every citizen mast pass on all knowledge that they gain via our monoliths
>Learn how to make something useful with lizard leather.
>>
>>50131
Even if I believe you. You don't speak for the tribe as a whole. You might not even have a vote when it comes time.

The only reasonable way to judge your intent is by the traits/tech you have and in my opinion, they tell the story of a tribe that is getting ready for war.

Also I think bext move has ti be:
Action: keep on taming Horses and other animals.
Culture: we develop a better math system that help Us in arquitecture. We dont have the resources to make the houses but we do a lot of planes and tiny houses as a hobby.
>>
>>50184
Aw dude, I was trying to remember your handle... I forgot because it was (whatever). I hadn't forgotten you though!

>>50200
Those that I listed were basically future goals, stuff we hadn't really got sorted yet. For now we have:
>Stockpiles of meat, leather and poison.
>Lizard farms for more of the above.
>Bricks that we can build with.
>Blowpipes with cactus spine darts (fucking loads of cactus spines) and metal darts (a few from trading with Ore)
>Written language and a culture of teaching/learning.
>Started breeding scorpions, and have made them a little bit bigger and shinier.
>We also have endless sand, and lots of sandstone.

I'm probably forgetting something though.

>>50258

>Maths/mechanics education

A bunch of cross-dressing faggots got there before you

>Smelt some sand to make glass with Ore-bros

For what purpose?

>Use mechanics knowledge and bricks to make mighty houses

Im pretty sure there is a quote about building houses on sand somewhere...

>Make some kind of cement with all this sand?

You use Limestone to make concrete dumbass, not sand.

>Cultural mindset of breeding as a means of improving creatures (lizards, scorpions, people(?))

This one is decent, cant find a way to make fun of you for this one.

>Some kind of cultural trait to emphasise use of our poison and blowdarts for improved hunting? Maybe every citizen mast craft one and carry it at all times?

That is more of a mire tribe thing, you should probably stick to something that makes use of your natural resources.
>Try and persuade various tribes to share tech for mutual benefit.

>Every citizen mast pass on all knowledge that they gain via our monoliths

You should probably limit the scope of that from "monoliths" to "clay tablets" because im certain there are a good amount of you who spends their whole lives farming cacti and getting drunk.

>Learn how to make something useful with lizard leather.

Also pretty good, stick to things within your scope.

>>
>>50275
Weve been meaning to do the maths since before Grass tribe existed. Considering we're a knowledge focused tribe, I think we're still going to go for it. It's a precursor to any kind of impressive building. I'm sure we could also find a way to lay some kind of foundations, or if not, make particularly good tents/temporary buildings.

I know that real cement isn't just sand and good luck, but this isn't the real world. My point is that we could try and make some kind of building material gloop from it... But actually that was retarded, we already have clay.

We already have blowpipes and poison, so it's not that much of a leap, and I feel like not forgetting about them will be good for us in the long run.

We also already have monoliths for knowledge, as well as clay tablets. But maybe we should make sure the drunken cactus farmers don't "contribute" too much.

What tribe are you dude?

>im just going to greentext him saying that he is telling us to get smart and that he hasn't looked at our plans KNOWING that there are a lot of people on 4chan who like to LURK when they know they cant participate as normal.

Im going to use this nice Gif i acquired in another thread not too long ago on you.

We gotta consult Richard on this one.
>>
In case any other ore bros are lurking. My plan for the next turn will be a trait expanding on our "Throw shamans in lava to please Urth." trait. I want a "Putting things in lava can please or anger Urth." trait to help us figure out smelting and stuff.

As for the action. I think we should go full force and keep playing in the lava. Nothing can stop a fortress once it is fueled by lava! dig deep and greedy ore bros! It always works!
>>
>>50424
>anon acts like a game is real life
>if you shoot higher than everyone else and miss it doesn't matter
>have an actual plan of action designed to align most with our tribes motif not with a meta'd knowledge.

Look bro I am here because this is an awesome quest not because I'm trying to find the optimal route to beat the other tribes. If that is what you want this is the wrong place to find it.

For mire tribe im thinking we do better boats and carthography with stars, then we bows and sail to the west, 2 things can happen: 1. We cum upon an island and we colonise it 2.we sail around the world and cum back but we then know that the world is round! Which is kinda cool i guess?? ::~::

Cartography and sails seem smart
We could also buy some firewater and create more medicine
>>
>>51069
No, what? Y should we trade with sand niggers? We aint need no medicine, have u ever seen a spider taking medication? We need bows for in our boats and we need to discover new lands! Let us discover 'mufica and kill all the fags that live there
>>
What's first on our agenda?
>>
>>51081
You should totally trade with us. We have medicine and maths
>>
>>51104
I think the Grass King forgets his ROOTS,
We're not FLOWERING scholars, we're Warrirors. We BERRY fight at all. We should start raiding our weaker neighbors

I know you want to focus on improving your tribe right now junglefriend, but what if we came to you? We are beginning to focus on agriculture, and we would love to obtain some of your plant seeds.

This guy gets it!
>>
>>51111
Mire is stronger than you savages
>>
>>51111
I think that is a very dumb move. We cant just fight everyone. We NEED friends. We need allies and some development, and then we can crush those sand bitches
>>
>>51111
but mire are bros, you don`t have honor?
but that happy people are scum we don´t have to pervert our children if we use theirs to archive symmetry

>>
>>51169
You're starting to sound like a trap, m'lord.
When was the last time you won a duel?
>>
>>51182
That doesn't sound very happy, friend. Kidnapping our children would make us very unhappy. And people who make us unhappy have their lands razed in holy fire.

>>51189
The banter is real!
You better both roll a dice now for this duel of clubs!
>>
>>51182
I'm with you warrior.
Mires are bros, but the brush people are between our two great people. If we enslave and entrap the brush people, then we can easily eatablish trade with te mire folk!

>>

Our numbers are bigger than his. And once we got better weapons and horses it will be easy to crush them if we want. Also we are oing to develop medicine next.
>>
I would like to remind everyone to please only consider the turns and not the words of each tribe
>>
>>51319
Especially considering that only ore and sand, and tree and mire have canonically met each other
>>
>>51331
That's true
>>
>>51308
That'd take atleast 3 turns if richard is in a good mold
>>
These juvenile advances from the queen of the grassfolk are making my smile a tiny bit smaller than it usually is.
I'd like to take this chance to make it clear the brush tribe is strictly heterosexual and we do not appreciate this heretical homosexual approach from our neighbors, be it the king that approaches us or the peasant.

hello newfam! welcome to the Magical Gypsy Caravan of Sensation and Pleasure! here's your blindfold!

i love that all of this has nothing to do with sex somehow
>>
>>51340
Yeah. We know. We stick to the plan of being diplomátic until the game gets in the mood
>>
>>51319
>>51331
Yeah, otherwise total annihilation is coming in the next turn. I think threatening to burn a tribe to ashes between actual turns is this thread's form of shitposting.
>>
>>51403
Yeah. It's sensory but not sensual. So, have we done any more extensive tradition writeups? How many of us are there? What's our agenda for the next turn?

>>
>>51426
Frankly the grass tribe's aggression to us is completely unfounded, not only do they have no logical reason to attack us but their flower gods are completely dependent on our Sun.
The correct course of action would be to set up a diplomatic relationship between our tribes, but if their bloodlust is too great then they'll get exactly what they ask for.
>>
Richard please save us from the shitposting
>>
Well, as i was saying, im back and grass is going full butthurt.

>>51473
Flowers in the sun too long dry up
>>
>>51319
What do you care? It's a good idea, but you are competing with other people here. If I was a ruthless grassman I'd be trying to make all the other tribes sound scary to all the other tribes.
As a ore man I think it's better for me if people get stronger because I don't feel threatened by anyone. If anyone was strong enough to wipe me out it would be different. So what's your motivation?

You're truly living up to your title, Helpful Junglebro
>>
>>51505
There are ideological differences in the grass tribe. I want to capitalize on our natural warrior abilities, while King wants ... idk a perfect civ or whatever, writing, buildings, diplomacy, which our initial conditions don't 100% support.

The best way to set our warriors way in stone is a small border skirmish or two.

There are always continued hostilities with thw sand tribe, but I don't see the point, we're like 4 regions apart.

We have a numerical advantage over the brush tribe, and they can't even fight when it's night, the odds are in our favor
>>
>>51542
We should all aspire to be helpful junglebros, to each other and to our neighbors!

are you on board with the plan for turn one?
>>
>>51547
This makes the most sense if the brush had anything worth taking
>>
>>51553
For sure. I think our first forays into tech, depending on how realistic this setting is, would be some way to replicate animal pheromones with our masterful olfactory skills, as to attract hunting prey. But you seem to be ground zero of the tribe, and in charge, so whatever sounds good. Anyway, I'm 100% on our turn 1 plans.

We will be the first to prove that the world is actually on the back of a giant tarantula.
>>
>>51572
i've just been the most vocal. if you ever disagree with me don't hesitate to let me know!

and wonderful. we'd probably be able to replicate the pheromones after one turn of work based on what we already know how to do. maybe that can be our action next turn, if not to go and visit one of the nearby tribes. culturally, next turn seems like the moment to establish an open-mindedness toward new cultures and technology, or else to further our blindfold practices, which for now are still nascent. (well, for now they're nonexistent.)

i see no harm in starting to travel on foot. ideally, we would go to the grass tribe first (hey guys), and perhaps in exchange for our hunting techniques they teach us about domesticating and utilizing horses!

then we could visit the brush tribe and maybe learn how to cook food. and who knows what other cultural quirks we'll pick up this way! we might lose or gain members too, which further helps accelerate our growth as a tribe. in the meanwhile, as long as we keep developing our caravan technology, our storytelling capability, our open-mindedness, our blindfold rituals, and perhaps our mercantile skills, we'll be caught up to the first three tribes in no time!
>>
>>51547
we should create a empire and unite the island under our flag.the pointless wars should be avoided the diplomatic way is preferable. but the savages must be subjugate and theach them in hard way.
to build a properus empire we need a good army but also the administrave tools like a language, acounting and currency
