Welcome to Adventure Civ Medieval!

In this quest, you will help a medieval realm strive and grow as trouble arises and other nations work on their own agendas.

Last time, the Bowtie Queen was reported dead, the copper nation was beaten by giants, and the tree rebels were eradicated.


how to play:
1) choose a realm to play for. change your name to reflect your choice (ex: Bowtie Noble). Max 4 players per realm.
2)each turn, your realm has 2 actions. You can choose a cultural, technological, or immediate acion, plus one bonus action based on your realms' bonus action(if your realm has a bonus tech action, you can do any action one time per turn, plus a tech action).
3)discuss with your compatriots which actions you will take. Once you're done, reply to my recap anchor post with the recap of your actions.

Heliomagi temples were expanded to house more people, both for the wounded and refugee families.

Wizards of both cultures combined their knowledge to improve their spells. the ascended shamans can now bathe in virgin blood for superhuman strength for a day!

The giants have been seen closing in on the borders.

The maidens came back from their raid defeated. Their losses weren't heavy but their morale took a hit.

The bowties have been informed about the clans living in the sunlands. How they react to it is up to them.

After much inspection the rat lunch has been deemed edible. A heliomagi volunteered to try it, and she said the bread was stale after such a long journey, but it was still pretty decent. She rated it seven out of ten.

The bowtie armies withdrew from Ratbane, leaving a few bureaucrats and a meager garrison instructed to welcome any rat officials and invite them to a peaceful discussion around a good meal.

Once the latest cannons were completed, they headed south into sun territory. They marched all the way to their western border, where they met the copper warlord and maidens' armies. Though they recieved the sun shamans' message, tension built between those two historically conflicted people.

The armies were forced to stop, being exhausted after such a long march, and learning about the incoming menace. They are stationed with the other two armies on the borders, but they are not sure they wish to fight another people's fight yet.

Culture: Institute a national education programme for all children (especially girls).The main purpose of this is to illustrate the problems that the rebels caused and to portray them as evil so another uprising is less likely to happen in the future, but it also serves to provide basic knowledge and skills.

Action: Send out a large expiditionary force to travel south along the coast to scout for where the Giants are coming from and possibly stall them. They will be provided with plenty of provision since it may be a very long trip, and they will be instructed to not antagonize any locals they meet, including rat people.

In the year following the rebellion, elves set up a propaganda program, starting with the foundation of an education system for boys and girls alike, promoting the Elfland ways and showing them the path to a decent life.

Scouts were sent south, to check the rumor of giants spreading chaos. They did find the giants in the copper realms, heading south. A bold druid aboard the scouting ships decided to entangle a giant, causing the startled titan to enter a rage and go after them. They nearly got hit by its rocks and spells before getting out of range. The creature never went into the water.

When the giants came, they found three armies waiting for them. Though the rats have not answered the call to arms, and the bowties never agreed to the alliance officially, they stood united against the common threat to the end.

Though the giant pitfall traps did not fool the giant magic beings, the demonic sun shamans sure did! taken by surprise, they took nasty wounds before they could prepare their defenses correctly. When they did, they got stuck in a defensive position: the hail of spears, cannons and magic stopped them in their tracks before they could do any damage.

This kept going on for hours, with the giants taking seemingly no damage, and a bold shaman dying for getting too close. Then, the blood giant raged when his protection (voluntarily or not?) exploded, causing an earthquake. It dashed for the walls, but the formidable defenses of the joined armies defeated him before he could reach the first line of defenses.
Its companion, out of desperation and frustration joined it in death.


the giants have been defeated! peace reigns on the four nations!
The coppers and bowties went back to their homes after a great feast in the holy spas. The old feud between bowties and coppers has receded, as more than friendly bonds bloomed on the battlefield between some of the troops.

The engineers were punished for their cowardice, but it was soon obvious that they had already paid their price dearly, so they were forgiven.

The Bowties still wait for their Queen and princess. They held a grand funeral pyre for the Marquis, who died in bed of his old age. The rats pushed for a white peace, and the Prince accepted, keeping all land the Bowties have in the ratlands.
The sea has calmed down.

Thanks everyone for playing. It was exhausting, but fun. You guys got really into it and I want to thank you for that. I'm sorry I kind of let you down near the end, but this was getting way too complicated for my sleep deprived self.
If I ever do another adventure of this kind, It will be when I'm 100% jobless, so not in a while I'm afraid.

If I find the time, I'd like to tie at least the biggest loose end of this adventure, in a comic (on my twitter; @opee_adventures) or with a mini adventure.

Until then, I'm going to fuck my shit up on videogames and sleep.
