The Kingdom of Roggar - the smallest of the three human nations, our Kingdom has lived in relative peace for a generation now. Concern over the expansion of the Kingdom of Paitras, which now borders us in the east, led our leaders to secretly agreeing with the promises of a dark elf witch - that when the Hour of Reckoning comes, our Kingdom would strike against Paitras along with all the other allies of the dark elves. Now we have been told that that Hour is approaching. We've been making military preparations for this accordingly.

Bulgar's fantasy civ is based on faction gameplay - it's not mandatory to make a faction, but it makes you much more involved in the story and makes the world richer!

Preparations are going well. Some may be unhappy with it, but what matters is the greater good of the realm. Through both imports and local production, we've amassed more food stockpiles - those can get expended during wars and famines, so this is a way to prepare.
It seems there's still time until the Hour of Reckoning, but not much...

Rolled 82 (1d100)

A&D
We've improved upon our cavalry. We've studied the fighting styles of the centaurs - they are literally horsemen, so it is different from a human riding a horse in many ways, but there is still something to learn there. An interesting new invention was brought by an elven merchant - a solid saddle tree. It allows a rider to sit more comfortably ontop of a horse, making combat cavalry more viable.
Our cavalry is focused on a charge with spears and continued melee with swords and are useful in the pursuit as well and can be used in hammer and anvil tactics alongside our pike phalanxes.
We've also trained more goblin troops. Bronze armor at the very least is standart issue now. Spears, short swords, small shields, bows and crossbows are used and many goblins are also taught to crew siege weapons.

Rolling for event, again - high is good for us.

Army training's been going well. The construction of the border wall has also been under budget and ahead of schedule so far - it now spans from Shekelsburg to Centerhold and from there to the goblin salt mines. It is not as tall as the walls that would protect a city, but that is the price that we pay for such a long wall.
In non-military news, public morale has improven with the great theatrical performances that have been hosted in Dragonstomb in recent months, with human, halfling, goblin actors and even one demon - the most popular play is "The slaying of the Mountain Dragon", which tells the tale of the adventurers who journeyed to Big Hill and slew the Earth Dragon Suhkamuk - two of those adventurers would go on to become monarchs of their respective Kingdoms, Ondala the Halfling Queen and Mutt Dragonfist.

Northwest of Vahkrin, at the crossroads, a small band of dark and shifty people sit together at their camp. These are the followers of Mor, Lord of Death, come to preach his ways to the Kingdom of Roggar following Wave's rejection of Gyolas and her disappearance shortly after. Rumor has it that the locals refer to them as "The Corpseborn".

After the death of Hylaeus, Edmund and an unnamed knight at the hands of Plamnokas, an apprentice of Edmund stepped up as leader, whom went by the name Wallace Mawe and shared Edmund's natural talent when it comes to communing with the Lord of Death.

Soon, the Corpseborn came into conflict with the inquisition, and Wallace died fighting a duel against the High Inquisitor. Knight Lawrence (39) is now in control. Due to the king's part in the duel result, tensions are brewing in regards to Clan Godric.

They have since moved to Nayte with the invite of the Nightstalkers, and several promising young men have shown potential to act as the new Disciple of Mor.

Assets: -Lawrence and one Knight of Mor
-Several families of followers
-Camping gear/supplies
-Living quarters in Nayte

Forgot to mention the war golem stuff
Both the scholars of Trusted Defense and the independent researchers from Nayte have developed prototype war golems - the Nayte golems are more slender, based on our own farming golems, while the Advisor's golems are bulkier, based on the golems that Paitras has, primarily used for labor and transportation - also in a fairly experimental stage themselves.
>>427489
You've gotten reinforcements from Paitras and used them to train local worshippers of Mor into a strong fighting force of priests and knights(knights being either cavalry or footmen of 1st/2nd century BC, not medieval shit yet)
>>
>>427506
Well, we want to advance them even further, by adding goblin pilots and training them.
>>
>>427511
See that thing?
It's made from clay.
Its mind is very, very basic. Requires magic fuel. Does a small amount of specific tasks for which it was built. This is a golem.

What you're looking for is an exoskeleton. Something that's got room in it for a pilot. Something that can be PILOTED.
We're centuries to go from such a thing.
>>

Golems are made from clay.
Currently there are two MODELS of prototype war golems. Several dozen of each model have been built, separately.
A golem can range from five to nine feet in height, with Nayte golems being smaller and more agile, since they're based on farming golems, while Advisor's golems are slower and bulkier.
Reconfiguring a golem takes time and the golem needs to sit still and be "sleeping", at least with the current tech level.

We've worked on our metallurgy. Steelmaking has improved somewhat over the past years and most quality weapons are made from steel nowadays.

A new invention has also found use in our cavalry - a longer kind of sword, around 80 centimeters in total length - longer than any sword that our troops have been using, the spatha is not as good for formation-fighting as our old swords, but horsemen will find it to be a better match for their needs.

We've just recieved word from the south. The orcish hordes are on the move and the centaurs of the south are not only not fighting against them, but also moving in the same direction - towards the Longfork river.
A raven dropped a scroll in front of the King's Hall.
"The horde will not harm you, provided you let them pass. Remember your obligations."

A.Marshall our troops and prepare for war(we'll decide our target later)
B.Send our troops to the southern border, don't let them pass
C.No need to wait - attack the Duchy of Kulargar now!

Basically, just write up a text, put on a name that's either your faction name, your leader's name or both. Your faction can be anything that makes sense in-game, so just think of something and I'll tell you if it's ok. And make a list of Assets. Our troops and supplies assembled, we march.
True to their worde, the Horde aren't attacking any of our settlements. They've crossed the Longfork and are headed north along the road, past Lakton and further towards the Duchy of Kulargar, while our army marches behind them.
Now I'm rolling for Paitras. High is good for them.

Paitras was anticipating such a move, it seems. Its legions are deployed across the Duchy, which will likely be the center of action. Orcs and centaurs from our direction and centaurs and ogres from the east are encroaching on the duchy. The legions that are deployed are outnumbred by these hordes at present, but have some defensive advantage and can likely expect more reinforcements.
The norsemen will likely be the first to send reinforcements to Kulargar, as they are a member of the Human Alliance. Still, there's been no word from them yet.

To get a sence of scale
>Orcs from the south - around 100 000
>Centaurs from the south - around 20 000
>Centaurs from the east - around 15 000
>Ogres from the east - around 25 000
(These are all the fighters, they're also bringing civilians)
>Legions - around 80 000
(All fighters, the locals might provide more reinforcements)

>Our current army - around 20 000

Only small skirmishes and engagements have happened so far, but that won't be for long...

On that historic day, a most curious situation occured.
Most of the human troops of Roggar, loyal to the Crown, had sided with the Horde.
Meanwhile, the demons and the Duchy of Gobopolis, along with a minority among the humans, chose to side with Paitras.
Others have pulled their troops back - the Iron Legion, the Roggar War Council and the Goblin Tinkerers.

This left two fighting forces that split up.
One is gathering outside Nayte now - the pro-Pantheon side.
Their troops:
200 demons(and if necessary can call on more)
4500 goblins
400 centaur mercs
2000 various human soldiers(mostly militias, some defectors from the army)

The other force, loyal to the King, will fight alongside the Horde.
Their troops:
9000 human troops(most of the professionals and some militias)

The rest of the army that had marched this way has been called back to the neutrals.

So, each side can pick a name or something and get ready, dice and heads will roll.
A war is coming...

I count militia as everything that's not listed in the main stats.
What's listed in the main stats are the standing, professional troops. They answer to each titled ruler - the Dragonking, Lord of Nayte and Duke of Gobopolis.
You, as Lord of Nayte, are the one who's brought most of those humans on the Pro-Paitran side, they are your men.
Both sides can raise more troops if the war goes on.

>>428211
This was for calling in Paitran Legion help from the north
>>428213
This was for making sneaky attacks and assassinations
>>428214
This was for skirmishing
SO, here's what happened:

The battle of Mor's Forest, they would come to call it.
Roggar's forces had split into two, one side camping outside Centerhold, the other near Nayte. Between them lay a forest.

Dragonking Adolph Godric took command of the Sons of Fate. He tried to get help from the Horde, but to no avail. Still, he held the numerical superiority and he knew what he was going to do. He had the superior force, professional soldiers of Roggar, bearing iron and steel. He planned for a hammer and anvil strategy - his skirmishers and archers would engage the foe, while the infantry held a defensive core against any attacks and the cavalry would circle around and strike from the flank. Determined, the King set out west and started giving out orders.
Meanwhile, on the other side...
Lawrence, leader of the Knights of Mor, took the fastest horse and galloped north. Before even reaching his destination, he found what he was looking for - a Paitran Legion, but not just any legion - this was the 2nd Legion, one of the strongest in the Paitran army, called by some "Mor's Chosen". A force of 6000 fighting men that had already gotten through the border wall near Shekelsburg. The Legion marched south swiftly.
In the meanwhile, the goblins, commanded by Duke Foreman Swift-Hands, had engaged the King's forces in skirmishes in the forest, where the cavalry had no room to maneuver. The Night Stalkers of Nayte sent out raiding parties to attack the King's supplies and assassins to target their leaders. King Adolf himself barely escaped death, Great Crow's thrown axe managing to cut apart the assassin who was aiming his crossbow. However, many of the officers in the army had been killed, morale had been lowered and a lot of supplies were lost.
But that was only the beginning of their worries.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kln605W1r3E
The King's forces were camped in the forest when the 2nd Legion came in from the north, catching them completely by surprise. At the same time, the forces of the Oathsworn attacked from the west - centaurs, demons, goblins and various humans.
The King's hoplites locked their shields and formed their phalanxes, they readied their ballistas and archers.
The 2nd legion's attack started with flaming shots from onagers, followed by war magic from demons, arrows from goblins and then a charge - the heavy infantry of the 2nd Legion threw their javelins, which pierced through or broke many hoplites' shields. The attackers got past the line of pikes with a flanking maneuver from the centaur mercenaries, while the heavy infantry moved in, their large shields protecting them from pikes, while their short swords cut and stabbed the King's men.
>>
That forest wasn't known by any particular name beforehand, but it would henceforth be called "Mor's Forest", for it sent many a man to Mor's realm.

It was a total and complete defeat for the Sons of Fate. Their army was shattered and broken. Their leaders just barely escaped, some wounded, falling back behind the walls of Centerhold along with the last 500 men they managed to save.
Most in the King's army surrendered once they saw the crushing odds. The battle saw 4000 soldiers from the royal army fall, the rest being captured or fleeing. Casualties for the Oathsworn and the 2nd Paitran Legion were qutie low - 500 goblins, 200 humans from Roggar, 150 legionnaires, 50 centaurs.

A month had passed after the Battle of Mor's Forest.
The Legion was slowly losing ground against the Horde - Marbleton and Podermos had fallen. Where were the damn norsemen reinforcements, they wondered.
On a fateful summer day, norse ships were spotted approaching Kulargar - a massive fleet, in fact. The locals cheered, help had arrived at last! The families of those soldiers who were fighting on the front went to the large harbor to greet the norsemen. Thousands of norsemen were allowed to disembark along the Duchy's ports. It was a mistake.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Le4B9T12zbs
The norsemen were here, but not to help the Kulargi. They attacked their coastal towns, pillaged and raped at will - few warriors were left behind to guard the coasts.

Word has now reached the Roggari.
The Oathsworn Legion has besieged Centerhold, where the last Pro-Horde troops hold out - the Goy, Great Crow and Notajo clans. Now both sides have learned of a massive norse invasion, here to support the Horde, or at the very least to line their own pockets.
What will the leaders of Roggar's disunited factions do?

Centerhold has fallen! The 500 men who defended it fought bravely, but the Oathsworn legion outnumbered them more than 10:1 and had siege weapons.
The leaders of clans Goy, Great Crow and Notajo are now captured by the Oathsworn Legion. The captors can do whatever they want with them.
Another thing they found in Centerhold was the Dragonbone crown. It was being kept safe there after Kurt died. His heir is the de jure heir to the Crown, but we'll see later what happens to it.

In the meantime, all these secret rolls have been about the various factions doing their own stuff, I've reported the results to them.

Now I'm rolling for Paitras. High is good for them.

Standing beneath the walls of Centergold the traitors of Goy, Great Crow and Notajo are marched out before a great crowd. The ancient Duke Foreman Swift-Hands steps out raising a hand to silence the crowd.

"These men have been condemned to death for their crimes against the Kingdom of Roggar, they have consorted with dragons, orcs and elves to bring down our ally the Empire of Patrias. May Mor have mercy on their souls."

The Knight of Mor swiftly executes them as the crowd shuffles off from the gruesome display.

After the execution of the leaders of the Sons of Fate, a report has come in to the Oathsworn camp.
The Legion is losing ground. Pressed from the north, south and east, it's not looking good. The worst thing is that the norsemen betrayed them. There's word that they've also launched raids on other parts of the Kingdom. Worse yet, it seems that on other fronts the Kingdom's Legions are fighting enemies as well - a demonic army has crossed the dwarven armies and is attacking from the south, while norsemen and giants march from the north.

The Oathsworn have captured Centerhold and solidified their control in the region, but things are looking dire.
The 2nd & 12th Paitran Legions to the north are now cut off from the other legions.

2 months have passed since the Battle of Mor's Forest. Forces have been shifting around, secretly.
Now you may write me in private if you want to make a secret action.
If you're not afraid of revealing your plans, post in this thread freely.

See, your flaw here is in assuming that this was all just for my gain. Do you have any idea how many people wanted you assholes dead? I was originally planning to just make a name for Nayte via peaceful pursuits, seeing as how we were always the ones doing science and shit, which you RADICALLY rejected the entire time, even for simple farming. When I saw you trying to fight the single largest fucking army we knew of, betraying the pantheon that we had only just grudgingly accepted and then acting like installing Inky as permanent king with the largest voting bloc wasn't pure cancer, then I thought I might fight. And even then, it was just Nayte. As it turns out, a lot of people got sick of your shit.

You're sitting here acting like we deserve this shit when you threatened civil war EVERY TIME we got ANY ideas about equality or having our own shit that wasn't doled out by you. And now that you lost, you're seriously willing to let weeks and weeks of progress burn, just so that you can throw your temper tantrum. There's nothing manichaeist about not wanting fucking memespouts running the game, and then seizing an opportunity to make a move that is not only ENTIRELY in character (see: the entire existence of the Daemon League being plagued by puritybloc despite not doin nuffin), but genuinely what I thought was best for the civ. Leverage all the insults and criticisms you want, but don't sit here and act like you're allowed to be a cunt and not having an IMMORTAL faction remember it happening just because you're in character.

Hating anyone over a fucking 4chan civ game is retarded. I don't hate you, I just think you're acting like an absolute child here. The second you're not running shit, it's not worth having.

The Oathsworn Legion is seen as the only surviving force in Roggar and has gained the loyalty of forces that are not affiliated. Seeing this as the hour of need, volunteers have flocked to their ranks and most towns have opened their gates to them to gather supplies.
The Oathsworn Legion is reinforced to:
300 demons in the field, the rest staying behind in Nayte
7000 goblins
350 centaur mercs
6000 various human soldiers of all types
Their morale is high and they have plenty of supplies.
Still, not all factions within Roggar are allied to the Oathsworn...

Basic human logic.
I can't have it then nobody should.
Every fucking mens before 1500 AC thought like that.

Overall you're just trying to make us look bad to justify you declaring war which i understand.
Post purchase rationalization it's normal but seriously you're a shit player for even throwing OOC shit like that.
There's not one second that during a thread i was OOC until now.
I can't even begin to comprehend.
You're justifying you action as if they were your and not the one of your character.
This is your flaw.
There's no difference, you're not playing someone else you're playing yourself.
That's why you make OOC comment you're actually affected by what's happening.
I'm mostly trying to stay IC and i know that's hard but see shit like this will fuck you up if you play as yourself.
I have different values than the ones my faction did and tried to play my role but it seem you played with your own values and each time they got crushed you were sad or angry and outraged.
I'm fine.
I don't see why you're even making OOC commentary over than not having a distinction between OOC and IC.

>Being a dick IC doesn't just wipe away the fact that you were being a dick when IC, my faction has seen you be a dick since day one.
I was a dick to you btw but not day one.
We could have killed the demons
instead we accepted them.
I did fluff out one of my character as a demon hater but it make sense since the human anti demon sentiment was always strong.
I tried to make the latest of my character less anti demons while having his father tell him everyfucking day when he was young that demons were fucking lucifer. But i had Hope for him being open to a new era, ready to fight Paitras to defend all citizens of the realm even demons.
Then the demons backstab came.
And since my character was firmly pro-elf and had an anti demon background he stood his ground.
Until the end.
His heir died in the gruesome battle he probaby gain PTSD from it.
Both of his friend died to a curse and he didn't care about anything anymore.
Even tried to roll for him to suicide IC before you capture him but thanks to low rolling you captured me and sure will excute him/me.
Overall i think i played a nice story.
The Notajo weren't evil but they were human ambiguous chracter shaped by events in their world.
I'm glad i played them and look foroward to making a new faction.
They didn't do nothing wrong i feel.

Following the defeat of the Royalist faction, the Daemon League has elected Arlo the Daemon to serve as their representative, and tentative leader. Arlo is headstrong and determined, but not unwilling to hear a reasoned position. He is decidedly pro-pantheon, having found some amount of faith at the battle of Mor's Forest, seeing an otherwise even battle turned by a legion blessed by the God of Death himself.

He's an accomplished engineer and fire mage, but prefers to fight at a distance, only closing with an enchanted spear when absolutely necessary. He is in command of all of the Daemon League's forces, human and demon alike, as well as tentative head of research for the League.

cba to find a decent picture because there really is just too much edge with demon pics on the internet. Never officially used this one for his predecessor so it counts.

The 2nd Paitran Legion, "Mor's Chosen", have claimed another great victory! Together with the 12th Legion, their forces were cut off from the other legions by the main orcish horde's advance north. With norsemen coming in from the north and orcs from the east, General Pestelar, commander of the 2nd Legion, rallied the local Kulargi troops as well and managed to break through the orcish lines. Some orcs have been seen to be fighting against the norsemen as well - it seems the raiders are here just for their own gain. The Paitran navy has arrived from the east and reclaimed some of the eastern ports of the Duchy, but the norsemen still hold the area around the city of Kulargar.
It seems the war could go in any direction.
Factions/blocs, a new turn has begun! If you don't want to reveal your plans in the open, tell me privately on discord what your secret roll will be about. Negotiations between factions can be held here though, we can't keep everything on discord after all.
The Oathsworn hold the largest army at present. After their victory at Mor's Forest 3 months ago they captured some 4500 royal soldiers - a part of them have joined the Oathsworn Legion, but most are still being stubborn and are kept as prisoners at the moment.
In the shadows across the Kingdom, the other factions are conspiring and chasing their own goals...who knows what will happen now.

I find it Ironic that you Prentend to stand for Man , Goblin and Demons when you've revolted and killed thousands for Paitras's gold.
It's even more Ironic to pretend you stand for Demons when you know fully well they have no future if Paitras win.
Regarding Goblins, openly declaring war to the Horde mean you'll fight Orc and Orgres again and again since time immemorials, they'll raid you lands.
And a Goblin can't represent mens that is known by all the common folks.
So really all that could be belived in this speech is that you stand for your own interest in this war.

You can't represent Mankind because you're a goblin.
You can't represent Demon because you fight for a cause that will only cause harm to them.
You can represent goblin by saying that they're natural enemies of Ogres and other Horde races but then you'd also deny that way getting Paitras Gold and trying to landgrab and kill other faction for your own benefits.

Most captured royal troops have now joined the Oathsworn Legion. As far as they know, the Oathsworn are the only remaining power in Roggar. Whatever happens to the political scene, the Kingdom must be protected and they put their trust in the group that is most likely to accomplish it, as far as they can see.
The Oathsworn Legion have increased their total forces to 9000 humans, 7000 goblins, 350 centaurs and all of the demons in the Kingdom(total of 470, a third of them are in Nayte, the rest are in the field).
Furthermore, the Oathsworn have control over the Lordship of Nayte, the Duchy of Gobopolis and most non-faction settlements - Firsthold, Dragonstomb, Silverlake, Centerhold, Threemine.
Still, not all factions seem to have joined the side of the Oathsworn. The individual factions are gathering their own forces in their own holdings.

Lakton - a small city, considered a sort of regional capital in the eastern part of Roggar. It is the primary holding of Clan Erden, a clan of rich farmholders - the entire region is full of ranches and farms and the city serves as a gathering marketplace for them. It is defended by sturdy stone walls.
At present, Lakton is the center of the royalist forces - clans Erden and Crow have 900 human soldiers there, they also have 400 goblin mercenaries at their disposal. Their other ally are the Swamp People from Everglade - they've levvied every single man from their area who can hold a weapon. Being owners of an iron mine, they've also been able to equip these 1700 human soldiers that they've brought well.
3000 royalists are gathered in Lakton and are preparing to march out when suddenly horns are sounded - the Oathsworn have been spotted approaching from the northern road!
The Oathsworn army is 2000 goblins, 1000 humans and 50 demons - it seems they've underestimated the royalists! One would need a larger force to take a fortified city. The defenders are getting to their posts - the armies are roughly equal and number, but the defenders have their walls!

Now is time to roll.
I want two rolls from each side now. Plague, Erden, Crow(and their other allies, if they want to reveal themselves) will roll twice for defending.
I want two rolls from the attacking side too - Trusted Advisor, demon dudes, Duke Swift-Hands and Night Stalkers and whichever other members of the Oathsworn can do these rolls.

Again, I repeat. 2 rolls for each side.

The men of Erden and Crow clans are fighting hard on top of the walls and it seems they're doing well! The attackers are taking some casualties, particulary among their goblin forces, but the battle is far from over! The Oathsworn are looking to assault the city, not put it to siege - there will be blood!
The attackes lost 150 goblins and 100 humans, the defenders lost 50 goblins and 70 humans this round.

ROUND TWO NOW

This time three rolls for each side! With the forces closing in, there will be more fighting.

Suddenly men from the Swamp People forces rushed to the gate to try and open it, but a large stone fell off the wall and crushed them. Betrayal! There is confusion within the walls of Lakton, but the royalists still hold the gates and walls.

Now, three rolls from attackers, three from defenders and one separate from the traitorous Swamp People who must choose if they'll try to open the gates again or fight to defend the city.

This tale will likely live on throughout the ages...if any are left to tell it. The defenders of Lakton were true heroes that day, holding the walls valiantly and taking down many attackers for each of them that fell...
As they would come to say in the future, the enemy within the walls is more dangerous than the one before the gates. Though they had failed in their initial attempt, the Swamp People still managed to clear away the rubble blocking the main gate and to open it. They had also started fighting in the streets against any defenders they could spot.

The defenders are now down to 200 goblins and 750 humans, the enemies outside the gate have 40 demons, 1400 goblins and 750 humans, but the Swamp People who are now aiding them from within are 1100 in numbers.

Now, round three - three rolls from defending factions, two rolls from attacking factions and one roll from the traitors.

The defenders fought bravely and they died bravely, but they were forsaken by the ones they thought were friends - the Swamp People's betrayal completely flipped the tables around. The attackers charged through the gates and started fighting in the streets.
The defending goblins quickly surrendered. Among the Crow and Erden soldiers, many died, but none wished to betray their comrades. They fell back to the city center - now a mere 300 hoplites stand, along with the leaders of Erden and Crow clans.

Erden and his troops surrendered and were allowed to go home.
Great Crow and his 150 hoplites, however, would not.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=askfwy6DY7M

"Very well" Duke Stabbers said, raising his hand. Upon his signal, hundreds of arrows rained down. The hoplites locked their shields. Demons started raining fireballs upon them, the hoplites cooking in their armors. The last dozen that were left, seeing no way out, charged forward. One by one they fell to the arrows. The last one standing was Great Crow himself. He had dropped his shield, thrown his spear at the Duke and picked up a large axe. The spear narrowly missed, making a small wound and sticking into one of the goblins behind Swift-Hands.
Great Crow let one final battlecry out before he dropped to the ground, arrows, bolts and spears having at last taken him down.
And so the last defender of Lakton fell.

NEW TURN
Four months have passed since the battle of Mor's Forest
Paitras has been making progress. The 2nd and 12th Legion managed to get out of their encirclement and have grouped up with the defenders of Ostogyol. While the Legion has lost ground in the west, they've gained control in the east. We've heard that the dwarves of the eastern mountains and the high elves have thrown in their lot with the Paitran Kingdom, which is fighting a war on all fronts.
The Horde has been taking losses, but have now mostly grouped up and seem to be preparing to strike at the strategic town of Ostogyol.
The norsemen are taking their time plundering in the northwest, their fight against the Paitran fleet seems to be in a stalemate.

The Oathsworn Legion appear to have solidified their control over Roggar after the capture of Lakton, but the war goes on.

>>432032
With the help of the high elves and dwarves, Paitras seems to be turning the tide. They've regained control in the east completely and along their northern land border with the Norsemen, thanks to aid recieved from the high elves. There's still fighting in the south against demonic armies, but the dwarves are helping there.
Now it seems that forces from both the Alliance(Paitras and friends) and the Horde are converging on one location - Ostogyol.
It seems theree will be a decisive battle there soon.

I'm here and I'm ready to continue where we left off! Perhaps we'll wrap up with this war, but at the very least we'll see a big battle happening today!

At Ostogyol Paitras has gathered ten legions - a total of 60 0000 experienced, disciplined, well equipped fighting men. High elves are set to send some reinforcements, but they are few in number.
Against them are arrayed most of the warriors of the Horde, numbering around 100 000, they are orcs, ogres, centaurs, dragons, dark elves and others. The Norsemen may or may not join in this fight - they invaded the Duchy of Kulargar with around 20 000 men originally, but their goal has mostly been to raid and perhaps claim lands, they've been avoiding open battles. At first the norsemen also fought against the Horde, but since then they've stopped fighting them.
There is still some time to prepare, but this battle will surely take place in the near future and will likely decide the outcome of this war.

The Kingdom of Roggar has mostly been fighting against itself, it's seen around 8000 fighters from various races fall so far.
The largest army in Roggar belongs to the Oathsworn, almost 20 000 fighters, mostly goblins and humans. Other factions throughout the Kingdom also have their own hidden forces, what they will do with them remains a mystery...

Now is the time for negotiations and preparations - convince others to fight alongside you, make pre-emptive strikes, form alliances or stab your allies in the back, prepare your troops, for the Hour of Reckoning has struck.

I'm on the discord(in the OP) for any secret questions and shit.

That said, we've already split and fought among ourselves. That result's not happening.

A Centurion from the 2nd Paitran Legion arrived in Centerhold and presented an offer from the rulers of his Kingdom.
"The Alliance must stand strong - we've aided you in the past and now we ask that you help us in return. The Horde is a threat to all mankind, but with your aid we may be able to crush them and rid our lands of these beasts. We understand that you have concerns about our expansion and our great King, Ulvinius I, has ordered me to present you with this offer: For aiding Paitras against the Horde, The Kingdom of Roggar's independence will be guaranteed henceforth by treaty and you will be given all the territories up to Ostogyol and the river that flows along it, which will be the border between our two Kingdoms."
It seems the Paitrans are really looking for Roggar's help.
At the same time, a group of dark elves arrived in Dragonstomb and presented the Horde's offer
"The Horde is winning this war. Side with us and you will recieve all the lands of the Duchy of Kulargar, perhaps even more. You will share in riches and plunder and you will see Paitras destroyed, that biggest threat to your existence will at last be removed and Roggar can become the leader of the human world."
Well, they project confidence, but they seem to also be willing to offer rewards - perhaps they aren't that certain of their victory in reality.

>>434129

It seems the Horde has split into two forces
About 60 000 are holding the Legions at bay in the east, while the norsemen continue their harrasment all around. 35 000 or so are now besieging Nayte, where the 15 000 Oathsworn are getting ready to defend the strong city walls
>>434669
The Knights of Mor have enough mana for all of their spells, the Pantheon is supporting them as much as is possible
With the help of the Inquisitor's priests, the incantation was complete - mighty Pantheon spells are now supporting the defenders of Nayte...ironic, that the city that was for long considered the city of witches and blasphemers is now under the protection of the Pantheon.
The dragons that were escorting the western Horde tried to approach the city, but the magical defence that priests of Domnata put up is warding against their encroachment. Looks like they'll have to rely on their orcish infantry for this.
>>434644
The Night Stalkers were trying to get their experimental war golems ready, but they failed - all the golems broke down.
>>434655
Agents of the Iron Legion were spotted burning down the bridge west of the town of Vahkrin.

Now the time for battle is upon us!
The defenders of Nayte, give me three rolls for defence!
Another three rolls for the attackers, from anyone.
The first three rolls from Nayte defenders will be used for defence, the next 3 rolls from anybody will be used for offence.

The orcs are upon us! They're fighting on the walls, casualties on both sides. What's more, a mysterious thing occured! A fire was started WITHIN the city, in the Academy! It spread quickly and the flames have already affected most of the Academy grounds - the alchemical labs, golem workshops, libraries - the largest center of knowledge in this part of the world is burning, and yet it wasn't the orcs that started this fire!

Round 3
Now, this time I'll count only Oathsworn rolls for defence - the first three rolls from Oathsworn dudes will be counted. The three next rolls from anyone will be for attack.

>>434787
The Dragons were standing back, observing the battle, when they felt foul energies coming from somewhere in the southeast. THE FIRE RISES
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ayMp6K8pwg
Much of the Academy is beyond saving now...but the demon defenders of Nayte - all of the remaining demons in Roggar having gathered here - are dedicated to not letting that go in vaine. The demons gathered their magical energies and bent the flames to their wills, using them as a source for their fire attacks, launching a magical artillery strike from behind the walls, aimed at those on the other side - the besieging orcs are hit by volleys of massive fireballs.
The defenders still hold the walls, fires still burn in the center of town, but their spread is being contained, as part of the flames are being redirected for a better purpose.

Round four now
The first 3 Oathsworn who roll will be counted as defence rolls
The first 3 non-oathsworn who roll will be counted as attack rolls

The defenders of Nayte are putting up a valiant fight, but it is a losing one as well. They are overwhelemed and the orcs have taken the eastern gate. Everyone who can hold a weapon in the city is now fighting to defend it, every single demon is mobilized to fight for their survival as a community.

Every single demon has taken up arms. Those who are not casting fire spells have formed up, swords, pikes, axes at the ready. They fight alongside goblins, humans and even a few centaurs. They are outnumbered, outmatched, the enemy is in the streets of the city - but they will not give up! Not yet! The fight goes on as long as there are men whose courage does not falter!
More and more orcs are flooding through the gates.

The defenders are putting up a valiant effort - humans, goblins and demons alike.

The High Inquisitor, Muahmmid, was leading his war priests and inquisitorial warriors from the front. He was one of the main mages keeping the barrier up. His position got overwhelmed by an orcish charge. His men were butchered. Muhammid tried took several down himself and then before him came the biggest orc he'd seen, clad from head to toe in iron. This big orc overpowered him, broke his neck and put his head on a spear and threw it at the defenders.

They could feel it now...the barrier is falling down! The dragons can now enter the city!

The dragons entered the city as well, leading the orcish attack.

The orcs were flooding in and had cut off all escape routes.

All the demon magicians of Nayte converged to the center of the city, where fires still blazed around their Academy.
They began their incantation. They drank as many potions as they could stomach, of the highest quality - dragonsblood preserved for decades, made by the best alchemists of Nayte. Their strongest spells, at maximum concentration.
Demons can be manipulative creatures. When they present themselves around others they usually appear in a form that is more similar to that of a large human, but now there was no need for such charades.

They had accepted their fate.
They had been doomed to Limbo originally, but they had proven themselves in the Mortal Plane. They had earned the Pantheon's favor as much as any demon could. They would have their chance again, to do their original duty - to guard the Realm of Hell, serving Mor for eternity.
They gave their last farewells to friends, family, loved ones - yes, though a demon could never bear a child, they could still feel.
Every single demon that was left in Roggar had gathered here. Their combined magical powers were gathered for one purpose. One last act of defiance, one last magical spell.
They would use this Flame to take everyone out along with them - the entire city and its surroundings, all of those orcs, dragons and brave defenders.
The sun was setting.
As their last act in the Mortal Plane, the demons would give their farewell to the land that had welcomed and fed them. They would light up the night....
Miles away, the few survivors who had escaped could not only see it, but they could hear and feel it - the massive explosion that destroyed Nayte, leaving only a massive crater in its place.
No other sign of the demons would be left. Their Great Academy with its laboratories, workshops, libraries, halls of knowledge...their smithies, their homes, their walls...
Such was the end of the Demons of Nayte.

The Paitrans lost the battle of Ostogyol. What tipped the battle in Horde's favor was the arrival of reinforcements - the norse attacked the Legions' supply lines and base camps and then retreated. Still, the Legions held an advantage in quality even if they were cut off from supplies, they could just fight their way through the Horde...but the arrival of a massive Dark Dragon put an end to their hopes...the fields outside Ostogyol are now a massive grave as tens of thousands of Paitran soldiers were slaughtered. It is said that only the 2nd Legion managed to escape from that battle.
On their southern fronts, the Paitrans are now having troubles against the demonic armies, while the norsemen and giants have resumed their attacks from the north. The dwarves have fallen back to their mountain fortresses, the high elves are few in numbers - Paitras is now fighting for its life as barbarians, demons, beastmen and dragons march towards the great city of Dominas.

The Siege of Nayte led to the de-facto destruction of the Oathsworn Legion. Some of the factions that made it up still remain, but they are greatly weakened...who will fill this power vacuum now?
The Dragonbone Crown was lost in the explosion that destroyed Nayte. Tens of thousands of lives have been lost - and for what?
A group of wandering priests from the Pantheon are travelling across Paitras, spreading word from one town to another - they bid all factions put aside their differences and that their leaders gather in Dragonstomb to make peace and choose a new leader.

How about a compromise? This is a time of war and great need. Most of the great factions are dead or severally weakened, and the kingdom is divided. But we must fight all who draw sword near our walls.
Roggar shall not be allied with thoses they fought multiple times.

Great Crow won the Contest against the ruler of Godric.
Cassius Whitevayne the Fifth was a candidate as well, but withdrew after seeing he couldn't gain enough support...he left the Moot and while the others were debating, voting and celebrating the Contest's conclusion, Cassius Whitevayne came back at the head of a large army he had left in the area for this situation:
2000 Iron Legionnaires(high-quality militia, but with no experience)
1000 Lizardfolk mercenaries(experienced and capable)
400 giants from the north(strong, experienced)
and one Ice Dragon by the name of Ledevlast

While everyone else was fighting in the civil war and against the Horde, the Iron Legion was gathering forces and allies...
having failed in his attempt to use democracy to gain power, Cassius has now come to seize power!

No force in the area can match his. the Kingdom as a whole is exhausted - if every single surviving fighting man were to be levied accross the entire Kingdom, perhaps they would stand a chance against this army...
I am now rolling for Great Crow - if it's low he is killed, if it's medium/high he manages to survive
FACTIONS!
Will you accept Cassius Whitevayne as your King now or will you resist?

Goy has launched a surprise attack on Dragonstomb with his norse mercenaries, catching many people unawares! He's set many buildings aflame now and has killed a number of Cassius' troops.
Whitevayne, you must respond to this!

I just wanted Roggar to be safe. Don't open the doors, Adviser. Don't open then until it's all over. You will be the last men here. Make something of the ruins, carry on the future, for the good of what was once Roggar. Deliver us all, if only to the pages of history.

Cassius Whitevayne unleashed his Ice Dragon, Ledevlast, upon the norse raiders and their leaders.
The dragon froze the water around their boats along with many of the raiders. The giants and Legionnaires went into the attack and soon enough captured the Goy Clan attackers...
Much of the harbor district of Dragonstomb burned down, but this fight is over.
Cassius Whitevayne the Fifth stands as undisputed ruler of the Kingdom of Roggar in the year 216 After the Storm.

Word reaches us of the east...it seems Paitras is losing the war. Some provinces have split off the Kingdom, some have surrendered to the Horde. The last surviving Legions are converging to defend the capital, Dominas...

THIS CIV IS NOT OVER! Continuing tomorrow with a fresh thread, there will be opportunities to create new civs, go on adventures and explore more of the world! Don't worry if you lost a faction or assets, the future is still ahead of you!

So, how did you like it, folks?

I'm the mountains south of three mine, an let's call it a temple, is built. There is the center of operations for gnomes, non-humanoids and ogres labor league, or GNOLL. As you can imagine, we work with uncommon workers, primarily ogres and gnomes for now, though our emissary for one is a lapid.
>>
>>436045
Now that I think of it, it probably more closely resembles a fort to a temple.
>>
>>436045
>>436050
you can't make a faction yet since their was just a big fucking civil war. Many factions are dead. Also Logic you shouldn't be a non human since the civ need to vote on that, so if they vote you in. But everyone hates snowflake factions. After the shit Wave pulled. Keep it simple, be nice to others, keep you word, since everyone hates backstabbers, the civil war was back stabs and more back stabs. The kingdom lost two kings in a year, more than half the kingdom is died, everything gone to shit.

Also you have to wait for Bulgar the QM. If you have questions ask Bulgar when he comes back. Hope I helped
>>
>>436081
Do you think I could at least keep the idea of a temp agency for ogres?
>>
>>436144
You could keep the idea, but right now the orges are not in our kingdom their in the east side of it. But you should think of more ideas, right now we lost lots of men. So just talk with the QM who is Bulgar and he's help you. I'm the Godric Clan in the civ by the way. I'm happy to help new factions start up.
>>
>>436190
Exactly you need cheap strong labor. As for location. Those mountains weren't chosen for no reason. I figured that was fairly close to ogre pass, but if you think I should put it closer, there's no reason it has to be right were it is.
>>
>>436259
http://pastebin.com/etm1V11S
Here you go, this pastebin has the rules the QM has put down. Outside races have to voted in, hope I've been some help to you.

I could answer questions on the history of what happened since I was part of it. From before Wave left and After
>>
>>436264
What is Roggar's relationship with ogres like?
>>
>>436378
We fought the ogres in the past in a war, a Ogre army with a dragon we win.
Then they came back they were running from orcs, so we went to war with the orcs and win.
Then their was this mini war, where Orges drank demon blood and began killing a town, we win the mini war.
Then their was this massive war, that the orges may or may not had joined on the horde side.

So we been fighting with them, but also peace, so really a mixed relationship.
>>
>>436391
So you're saying that the agency will have to deal with salt, even if we do get allowed in?
>>
>>436407
Well, I don't be salty, but I'm the guy that mostly get it, because they think I was the mastermind behind the curtain plotting everything. But it's not true, I really wanted just to keep the kingdom strong and working.

I would try to keep a balance, and when it stopped working people get salty. I'm in the pure bloc but I'm not the kind of guy that will destroy your faction. So for the ogre faction you don't have problems from the pure bloc, because really their really no point to fight each other. But so people think I want to destroy every non human kek. But really I don't
>>
>>436424
One last question. Where would you suggest putting the center for the agency, at the opposite end of the ogre pass maybe? Or the nation's end? Or is there a city that would provide sufficient support for this new labor force to justify traveling that far from our home land?
>>
>>436536
So it's going to be workers right?
>>
>>436538
A temp agency for ogres, so manual labor yes.
>>
>>436539
The place you picked will work since it's next to the mines so you could help their. But the best place will be on the east side but the war is not over yet so.

Really the best spot is in a existing city. Or near one
>>
>>436542
Now I think about it, three mine is looking ripe for a headquarters. After all people will need lots if stone all over, and copper too, for payments and new tools. What's in that third mine, I can't read it.
>>
>>436558
So your both blue jester and bunny I think I saw your thread but the only player is wave.

For the three mines that the town center on the three mines near it. Just a town

The three mines are of stone. tin, and copper, but their already owned by factions. You could talk with the factions that own the mines.
>>
>>436571
I'm welcome for new players if you want. Which factions?
>>
>>436585
As in which factions own the mines
>>
>>436587
Used to be Mine, Notajo clan for the tin mine in Threemine.
That's a mouth full for ya if you want to read the previous sentence aloud.
anyhow since my faction is dead all my belonging are to be shared between Cland Erden and Clan Godric figure it out with them.
>>
>>436585
The pure bloc factions :^)
Me and Erden. But we'll be willing to work with you. We not the faction that doesn't work with certain people.
