Far off, nestled in an otherwise small Japanese town lies the Dark Gate Academy. An institution of tremendous size, the Academy holds a long kept secret. Unknown to the outside world, this unseemly town is home to a tear in our reality. A gate between our world and a bizarre dimension known as the Darkworld. The inhabitants of this hellish world breach this gate and attempt to flood into our reality and spread throughout the world on a regular basis. However, the Dark Gate Academy is home to students of truly extraordinary abilities. The ability to sense the presence of these evil Darkword creatures, and defeat them in combat, sending them back through the gate.

They cannot close the rift between our world and the Darkworld, but the students and staff of Dark Gate Academy have dedicated their lives to using their amazing powers to hold back the darkness that plagues our world, even if it costs them their lives. They have risen up to the challenge and in secret have become great heroic defenders of the world as we know it.

You... are not one of them. You are a transfer student. There was a bit of a mix-up.

"Ryoji Shida... I've looked through all your records, and I think this Academy is the perfect place to whip a delinquent like you into shape."

You roll your eyes as you lean back in your chair. You get shipped of to some backwards country town to attend some school you've never heard of, and who is the first person you're sent to? The counsellor. Sure, you have a history of bad behaviour, maybe you've gone through five different schools before this one. Does it matter? Who does this guy even think he is?

"Oh please," you fire back, "You think you're the only one who can look at some records? I researched this school before my parents sent me over. I couldn't find much, but if you think this is the school that going to turn me into a perfect student, you've got to be joking! I saw the records, and over half of your students don't even make it to graduation!"

The man's eyes shift, before he removes his glasses. "That may be the case... we hold a very high standard here, and most students just aren't able to... live up to it. But we've always pushed our students to be the best that they can be, and they've always given it their all. Don't think you're the exception, Ryoji. You're nothing special, I've dealt with your kind before. You're a delinquent, a criminal, and a bully. You'll be glad to know that you'll be in my very own homeroom class, so I keep as much an eye on you as I want."

You refuse to give the man an answer, and he lets out a sigh. "I'm not your enemy, Ryoji. I'm sure you don't appreciate being sent here, far away from your home and your family, but this is a good school. We're here to look out for you, teach you, and help you become better than you are. Your current attitude isn't going to do you any favours, least of all here. This is your chance at a fresh start, so let's make it a pleasant one, okay?"

The man leans against his desk and smiles. "My name is Akihito, and I'll be your homeroom teacher for the rest of the semester. Do you have any questions?"

>Nah, I'm good.

Akihito shakes his head. "If you say so. You'll be in class 2. I have to meet with the school principal for a moment, but if you just wait here for a moment, I've instructed a member of the class above yours to lead you to the right room. Can you do that?"

Before giving you a chance to answer, Teach rushes out of his office. A lot of trust he must have in you to leave you unattended, if even for a minute. In 60 seconds you could have this room filled with water, or burning in flames. Both are equally fun. But nah, you'll save those kinds of pranks for later. Maybe start small for now, fine whichever kid in your class is the funniest to mess with.

Your name is Ryoji Shida, and you're whole live you've been told you don't belong. You've heard the same speech a thousand times over from teachers, your parents, even a clergyman at one point, that was fun. They all say the same thing, you're a smart kid, but you never use those brains for anything good. You're more interested in having fun and rebelling against anything remotely resembling authority than actually being a worthwhile member of society. This time, it seems your parents got tired of moving away every time you got kicked out of school. This time, you've been cast out on your own, forced to live on some town you've never heard of, stay in some dorm with a bunch of strangers.

No doubt about it, this next semester is going to be hell.

The kid from Class 3 is taking a little longer than usual. You'd hate to be late to your first class because someone else has poor timekeeping. You'd rather be late for your first class because you were lazy and didn't want to go.

>I can wait another minute or two.

You aren't waiting around here like an idiot. Time to get acquainted with the place you'll be spending your days. You're surprised by how big and advanced the building looks. Considering the small fishing town it's in, you expected something more... modest. Not to mention how empty the hallways are. Class hasn't begun yet, and for some reason you haven't run into any other students as you wander the halls. Why is this place so big, if they don't even have enough students to fill it? How many people even go here?

You wander for a while longer. You check your watch... you are officially five minutes late to class. Off to a good start then. And what do you know? Some kid managed to leave their locker hanging wide open! Maybe there's something cool inside you can swipe.

You open up the locker and get to rummaging. Nothing special, just some gym shoes, a textbook and a whole bunch of pictures of this kid and his family. Talk about sentimental.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing!"

A voice calls out to you from behind. You swing around to see some girl staring angrily at you. You would question why she looks so beaten up, with bandages and band-aids covering her face and legs, but she decides to yell at you again.

"That's not your locker!"

"Who says it isn't? I was able to open it, wasn't I? What makes you think the stuff in here doesn't belong to me?"

The girl scowls. "Leave that locker alone. The boy who owns it is... gone now."

"Maybe he should have cleaned out his locker before he left," you reply. This only makes the girl angrier.

"Who do you think you are?" she yells.

You don't give an answer, instead just crossing your arms. This frustrates her more.

"Whoever you are, you should get going. You're late to class."

>Nah, I think I'll stay right here.

"What?"

"You heard me," you answer. "Class is dull, and I think I've found a nice spot to chill out. I'm good staying here. Now, if nobody else is going to claim this locker, I think it's mine for the taking. I need a new pair of gym shoes anyway..."

You turn around to go back to rummaging the locker, but as you do you feel a hand grip you shirt, and before you know it, you're being taken down to the ground. Taking you down, the girl twist you arm and presses your face into the cold floor. You struggle, but she's surprisingly strong.

"Apologise."

"What?" you muffle, your face mashing against the floor of the corridor.

"Say you're sorry."

"Why would I-"

"SAY YOU'RE SORRY!"

"Saki Kobashi, just what do you think you're doing?!"

A voice calls out to the two of you. You can't see, but you recognise it as Akihito.

The girl lets go of you and brushes herself off. Her face turns red as she frantically attempts to explain herself. "I was... He was..."

"I don't care!" Akihito replies. "Getting into a fight with the new student? I expect so much more from you."

He then turns his head towards you. "I can't say the same for you, Ryoji. You apparently couldn't sit still for a few minutes. Had to run off on a little adventure, didn't you?"

Even though he is lecturing you by this point, the girl is still trying to defend herself. "Sir, he was messing with-"

"I don't need to hear it. You're both late to my class! Come with me."

Akihito grabs you both by the arm and drag you to the homeroom for Class 2. Seeing Saki, you hear a few surprised whispers among the other students.

"Saki in trouble? This must be a dream..."

"And late to class? Maybe that kid's her new boyfriend..."

Akihito slams his fist on the desk, quieting the class, as Saki hangs her head low and slinks to her chair in the front of the room.

"Enough! Now, I'd like to introduce you all to our new Transfer Student. His name is Ryoji Shida, and I think he's very eager to make friends. Now Ryoji, do you think you can respectfully say a few words about yourself to your class?"

>Introduce yourself to the class

You sling your bag over your shoulder. "Yo. I'm Ryoji."

You stand there, as many in the class lean forward, waiting on you to continue.

"Aaaaaaaaaaand...?" a girl in the front row drags out.

"What, you want more?" you ask. "Okay... uh, this is my fifth school in two years... my favourite color is green, and... can I sit down now? This is a real drag, teach."

Akihito nods his head. "Be my guest, we've already used more class time than I'd like. Take a seat."

There are two empty seats, both in the back row. You sit down at the desk in-between two blonde students. One guy and one girl. As you take your seat, the blonde guy leans over and begins whispering.

"So you've met the great Saki Kobashi already? Tough break, man. She's a pretty hot girl but man, is she high-strung. Not a surprise, considering she's second in the class. Those front row kids all take this way too seriously."

"Front row kids?" you ask.

"Oh yeah, the class is ordered by academic prowess. So in the front row you have all the teacher's pets, and back here you have... well, you have us. Good thing you're here, Rini and I were getting lonely back here by ourselves."

He leans back into position as Akihito begins some lecture about responsibility and strength or something, before leaning back and whispering again.

"I'm Kosuke, by the way. Kosuke Tatsumi."

>Hey Kosuke, I don't care.

"Trust me. This school is full of cast-offs and freaks. Some because we like to stir up trouble, and others because we're just plain weird. Take a look at that girl."

Kosuke points out a pink-haired girl in the third row. "Is she... wearing a pirate hat?" you ask, raising an eyebrow.

"Yep! She wears it all the time, hardly ever takes it off."

"Wow what a loser. I... wait, that loser's three rows in front of us."

Kosuke nods his head. "Yep. Goes to show how low on the totem pole we are. No worries though, if you keep a cool head and stay chill, you'll make it out of here alive."

"Will you two shut up, Mr. Akihito is making some very good points!" the girl beside you butts into your conversation. There is a brief silence, before the three of you burst into laughter.

"Hah, could you imagine? 'Sup new kid, I'm Rini Tozawa."

"Could the three of you pipe down?" the black haired girl in front of you turns her head. "You might not care about studying, but the rest of us are trying really hard."

>Sure, whatever you say Princess.

The girl huffs as she snaps her head back forward. You smirk as you lean back in your chair and wait out the rest of a very boring class.

The bells rings and you pick up your bag, and begin to hurry out the door. You're stopped by Akihito, of course.

"Hold up, Ryoji. Saki, show him to the dorms."

Saki perks her head up and begins to protest. "Me? Why?"

"After your little scuffle earlier, I think it's only right you two try to get along."

"But sensei, he-"

"No excuses. Any more words out of either of you, and I'll force you to hold hands the entire way! It'll teach you both to pick fights in the corridor."

You leave the room with Saki by your side. "It wasn't a fight," she mumbles.

"Sure felt like a fight to me," you reply.

"No. For it to be a fight, both parties would have to have gotten offence in. You didn't."

Boy, she sure knows how to rub salt in the wounds. Good thing noone was around to see you get taken down by a little girl. Your reputation would be dead before it even started.

Saki drags you towards the dorm, bringing you to a room with an empty bunk.

"This is where you'll be sleeping. Your bunkmate this semester is... Ken Tajiri, I think." Saki places her hands into her hoodie. "The sun is starting to set. You can leave your bags here, then you can come prepare for later."

>Later? What's going on later?

Saki raises an eyebrow. "Very funny."

"I don't see what's funny about it," you reply. "What's going on later? Is it a party or something?"

She stares at you and her eyes widen in a shocked gaze. "You... you actually don't know, do you?"

"Know what?" you ask. She's really starting to bug you now.

Saki start waving her arms in a panic. "The sun is setting!"

You nod your head. "Yes, that tends to happen."

"No, that means it'll be night soon!"

"Yeah, I'm following..."

"And this is one of the designated nights!"

You tilt your head to the side in confusion. "Okay, you're starting to lose me-"

"-And that means that the Darkworld is arriving and we all have to be prepared and..."

Darkworld? Can't she slow down a little? What the hell is she talking about?

Saki continues to babble incoherently in front of you, as you fold your arms in annoyance. "And... nobody told you this? You really have no idea?"

"Whatever it is, sounds like a large oversight by the school's faculty," you reply. "Maybe you should start questioning the institution. Have you ever considered taking up delinquency?"

Saki grabs you by the shoulders and starts shaking you. "This is serious! On certain nights this... portal to hell, and monsters... and... and we have to fight them off! You have to come with me right now!"

Monsters? Hell? Now she's just talking nonsense. She seems adamant that you come with her, as she grabs you by the wrist and starts pulling.

>No need to be so forceful. If you want to go out with me, all you needed to do was ask.

That comments earns you a swift punch to the arm courtesy of Saki.

"You idiot, don't you get it? This is life or death! I'm trying to help you!"

She has a strong grip on your wrist as you allow her to drag you out of the dorms. She moves at a quick pace, constantly glancing at the setting sun as she does and muttering under her breath.

The two of you arrive back to the main school building and traverse the corridors. You feel the urge to tell her it's against the rules to run in the hallway, but you figure with the expression on her face that she might just kill you if you do. Eventually, the two of you encounter another member of your class.

"Daisuke!" Saki calls out, running up to the dark-haired boy.

"Saki, what are you doing?" he replies. "Why aren't you equipped yet?"

Saki takes a deep breath before explaining. "Ryoji here doesn't know about the Darkworld."

"What do you mean he doesn't know?" Daisuke replies, shocked.

"He doesn't know. He has no idea. Now, I only have a few minutes to get equipped. I need you to protect him while I do?"

Saki places her hands on your shoulders and looks you in the eye. "Listen to me. You need to stick with Daisuke. He's top in the class. He can keep you safe."

"Top in the class? What does him being an egghead have to do with anything?" you ask.

"Class ranking isn't just judged by intelligence and behaviour," Daisuke explains. "It's also judged by combat prowess."

Combat? And what does Saki need to get 'Equipped' for? And wait a minute, is Daisuke carrying a freaking sword?!

>What the hell is going on here?!

Seriously, has everyone gone completely insane? What kind of school is this?

Saki runs off to get equipped, whatever that means, leaving Daisuke to explain things to you.

"Well... it's not going to sound believable. Long story short, on certain nights of the week, this school plays host to another dimension filled with creepy monsters and ancient beings that want to take over our world. It's up to us to fight them off. We do this with unique powers we unlock when we first make contact with the Darkworld."

Darkworld? Hidden Powers? Is this his pitch for some ridiculous shonen anime?

"In a way, we're kinda superheroes fighting off the darkness almost every night. And if you're in this school, then that means that Principal Wei sensed that you have the same powers deep within you, waiting to be awakened."

He smiles as he grips his sword proudly. You yawn.

"You're right. That didn't sound believable at all."

Daisuke frowns. "I know it sounds strange, but you have to believe us. The Darkworld is dangerous. Why do you think there were empty chairs in our classroom? Why there are so few students here to begin with. We've already lost so many."

"Okay, this prank is getting pretty dark," you answer back. "When is the rest of the class going to jump out, say 'got you!' and we can all move on-"

Before you can finish, the ground begins to shake. Scratch that, the ground isn't shaking. It's crumbling away beneath your feet. And the walls... the walls begin to melt. Before you know it, you find yourself falling through the floor into a pit of darkness below.

You awake to find Daisuke standing over you, your head resting in his hands.

"You okay?" he asks.

You blink wearily. "I must have fainted. Weird... everything went blurry as I lost consciousness, and it felt like the whole room was crumbling around me..."

Daisuke solemnly shakes his head. "That wasn't you fainting. Look..."

Daisuke helps you to sit up, and you eyes get a glimpse of what lies before you. Not a simple school, no, but a hellish landscape as far as the eye can see.

"What the hell?"

Daisuke helps you to your feet. "This my friend, is the Darkworld."

It's so strange... a moment ago, you were standing in the middle of a school hallway, and now... now you're looking out at a great open expanse. Dark clouds circle you up above, and large structure fill out your view of the area, all the way to the horizon. You don't even know what's real anymore. Is this some dream, some horrifying nightmare. Any moment now, your parents are going to wake you up, and you'll be sent off to a real academy, a regular academy in a regular town... right?

"It's a lot to take in, I know." Daisuke places a hand on your shoulder. "Even stranger... it doesn't always look like this. The Darkworld is a very strange dimension, and it seems the place has many, many different forms. It's always a surprise seeing what we're transported to next."

Your feet are shaking. You don't want them to. You want to look cool and strong and brave, but how can you. You're in hell. A literal hell, when just a few hours ago you were introducing yourself to your new classmates, ready to start a new life. And now... oh god, you're going to die, aren't you?

Daisuke notices your fearful stance. You're too frightened to even move. "Don't worry, Ryoji. This is all new to you now, but I'm here to keep you safe. Remember, we can fight the darkness. Saki and I are in the top of the class. Stick with us, and you'll be okay. We're heroes, and heroes always save the day.

"We're in trouble," Saki's voice calls out from behind. You swing around to find her heavily armoured up, with a shield in one hand, and a lance in the other. Looking at her determined face, you can tell she knows how to use them. That's at least a little reassurance. "We weren't at orientation with the rest of the class when night came, and now we're separated. If we want to survive the night, we're going to have to find and meet up with the others. But looking at this place... they could be anywhere..."

That's less reassuring.

>Okay, you guys lead. I'll be right behind you.
>Can't we just find a hole to hide in and wait it out?

>Okay, you guys lead. I'll be right behind you.

Saki and Daisuke take the lead as the three of you begin marching through the hellish landscape. Occasionally, Daisuke will turn his head back and look behind him to see if you're still there. As you march on, the drab, high-top walls surrounding you get lower and lower, until eventually the three of you are stepping out onto a more open plane. That's when Saki and Daisuke stop in their tracks.

"What?" you ask.

"There are Seekers ahead. Tons of them." Saki grabs you by the arm, ensuring you don't take another step forward.

You look out, but the area before you is barren and empty. "What's a seeker? I don't see anything."

She gazes at you, wide-eyed. "You don't see them? You aren't awakened yet? That's definitely not good..."

You growl in annoyance. "Seekers, Awakened... I don't know what any of this stuff means!"

"Oh no..." Daisuke mutters, "One's seen us, it's coming this way."

Again, you see nothing, but the fear in your classmate's faces are very real. Grabbing you by the hand, Saki starts sprinting in one direction, while Daisuke readies his sword.

"I don't understand! What are we even running fr-"

Before you can finish that sentence, you are hit by a great force from the side, sending both you and Saki flying several feet through the air. You land on the ground with a hard crash. Opening your eyes, you examine the damage. You have a busted lip, more than a few large bleeding cuts on your arms and legs... and you can see it. The thing you were running from, a giant... 30 foot tall black creatures with glowing eyes, staring right at you... with Daisuke clutched in it's hand.

Daisuke struggles in the creatures grip, furiously swinging his sword, trying to cut himself free... but it's no good. The creature squeezes tight... and a blood burst from the creature's tightened fist, Daisuke's sword falls from his hand. The creature tosses his lifeless body to the side as it takes a step closer to you.

"DAISUKE, NOOOOOOOOOOO!" Saki screams, readying her weapons and charging at the Seeker. It slowly places it's hand atop her, pinning Saki down. Were it not for her holding up her shield, she would be crushed just like Daisuke was. Still, she is in a difficult position.

You pick up Daisuke's sword as it lies by your side and charge at the creature. It swings it's free arm at you, but in a rush of adrenaline, you duck under the swing. You rush up to the creature's leg and thrust forward with all your might, all your strength, and... the sword shatters as soon as it makes contact with the monster. You stand stunned as you are unable to even dent the Seeker's skin, as the creature turns it's full attention to you.

You feel a pair of cold, large hands wrap around your sides, closing you in a lifting you into the air. The creature raises you to eye-level and the beams of light that shine from it's face almost blind you. This is it, isn't it? You're staring death in the face. These are your last moments... and to think, all because you couldn't behave in a regular school. What cruel fate is this? You close your eyes, and hope it's painless.

Until you hear the monster scream in pain. You open your eyes to see Saki in front of you, jamming her lance into the Seeker's face. It's breaks it's grip on you as you fall to the ground. You land hard, and an intense pain shoots up your back. As you lie in pain, you see the creature fall onto it's back as well, as Saki continues her assault, driving the lance into the beast again and again, until it cries out one last time as Saki delivers the killing blow.

You sit up, trying to catch your breath. So much happened so fast... it's all so strange. Saki comes over and helps you to your feet. "We have to find the others, before the rest of those things see us."

She points out the rest of the Seekers off in the distance.

"What about Daisuke?" you ask.

"He's... gone," she answers, solemnly. "Come on, we can't waste any time."

The two of you set out in another direction. You're limping in pain, and Saki barely has enough strength left to support you. "I don't understand, Ryoji... after you were hit, you were awakened, right? You could see the Seeker?"

"I wish I could un-see it," you reply.

Saki nods. "Then, if you were awakened... then why didn't you gain your affinity?"

"My what now?"

"When someone is awakened to the presence of Darkworlders, they also gain the ability to fight them," Saki explains. "Their combat prowess is increased several times over, and they gain knowledge on how to damage the creatures. You're different. You were able to see the Seeker, but you weren't able to hurt it. Why?"

>How should I know? Maybe you could tell me?
>I'm still adjusting to those things existing. I don't want to worry about anything else right now.
>Maybe a sword just isn't my jam? Maybe I'm a lance user, like you are? Just a guess.

>How should I know? Maybe you could tell me?

Saki shakes her head. "I didn't expect you know, I'm just saying it's strange. This has never happened before."

As you continue to walk, Saki's foot gives way and she stumbles. "You okay?" you ask.

"I'll be fine," she replies, "just worry about yourself. If we can hold out just long enough to find... wait, I think I see them!"

She points out towards several figures in the distance. As you take a few steps, you see that it is in fact your class, accompanied by a few teachers. Saki waves to get their attention, and the group runs in your direction to meet you.

"Saki! What happened? Why weren't you with the class?" Akihito demands, grabbing the young girl by the arm.

"Daisuke and I had to look out for Ryoji! He wasn't awakened yet, and he had no idea what was going on!" she explained.

One of the teachers, a man sporting a bandanna with a dagger resting by his side, joined in on the conversation. "And where is Daisuke now?"

Saki looks down at the ground. "We... met a seeker. He didn't make it."

"You fought off a Seeker?" One woman excitedly cries as she rushes to meet you. She is sporting a lab coat. "Did you get a sample of it's skin? Perhaps you discovered why it's eyes glow? Or maybe-"

"Now's not the time Tekina," Akihito cuts her off. "Apologies, our school nurse is far too enthusiastic about researching the Darkworld and it's inhabitants. Ryoji, I'm impressed you were able to survive an encounter with a Seeker on your first night."

"Actually, Saki did all the work," you reply. "I couldn't even scratch that monster."

Akihiko takes a step back in shock. "You... aren't awakened?"

"No, he is awakened," Saki cuts in, "But for some reason... he couldn't hurt it. He didn't gain affinity."

"That... that's impossible. That's the strangest anomaly I've heard. What could this mean?"

"It means he's useless!" the bandanna clad teacher laughs, "Abnormally so!"

Tekina clasps her hands together in excitement. "It means he's interesting! Please Ryoji, you must allow me to study you when we have the chance!"

>Why is my inability to fight being treated like a sideshow attraction?

>Who says I don't have an affinity or whatever? That was only one fight!

"It should only take one fight," the bandanna'd teacher explains. "Your affinity comes with your awakening. The two go hand-in-hand. You can't have one without the other!"

"But he does!" Tekina exclaims, "that makes him very special!"

"I don't see what's so special 'bout it, sounds to me like he's dead weight that we'll have to babysit from now on."

"Just think about it, Kinji!" Tekina continues. "This boy could provide all sorts of answers we've been looking for. He could explain why only a select few people in the world could be awakened. And knowing that can help us know what the Darkworld is, and then we coulf no it's purpose. All our answers could lie with this young man!"

"I wouldn't get your hopes up," you state.

"All of this can wait until the night ends," Akihito adds, "Which should be soon enough. Class 3 have already located this area's guardian and are battling it as we speak."

"Guardian?" you ask.

"The most powerful Darkworlder in the area," Saki explains. "Find it and kill it, and the Darkworld is banished for the night. Defeating the Guardian is usually a task left to the advanced class."

Just then, you hear a loud echoing noise boom throughout the area. "Speak of the devil, looks like they've taken care of it already," Akihito mutters. "Hold on tight, Ryoji. The first transition back to reality can be... sickening."

He wasn't joking. As the entire earth spins around you and you get caught in a daze, you find yourself keeling over to vomit as you return to your homeroom. You let it out... all over Saki's desk.

"My textbooks!" Saki cries out, but it's far too late to safe them.

You feel a pat on your back as Kosuke tries to reassure you. "Don't worry, man. The same thing happens to all of us."

"This is all so stupid... and weird... and terrifying... and I saw a kid die tonight..." you mumble, sick and dizzy.

"Okay, don't crowd the subject-I mean, student!" Tekina yells out. "The rest of you, return to your dorms for the night!"

Tekina hunkers down and looks you closely in the eye. "I know all of this is a lot to take in at once. But I must say, you are an interesting one. I think you might be more important than any of us believe. Yes... you'll have to stay here, so that I can study you."

"Stay here? In this school?" you ask, "But I can't fight those things! At all! I can't survive here! It doesn't matter how interesting I am if I'm dead!"

"Don't worry, you aren't going to die!" Tekina claims with a smile. "You have your classmates to protect you!"

Your eyes widen. You feel like you're going to be sick again. "Wait... you're telling me that almost every night for the next semster, I'm going to have to put my life in their hands?"

Tekina nods. "Of course! The students of this school are kind souls who would gladly risk their own lives in order to protect yours! Maybe even sacrifice their lives once they see how important you are to researching the Darkworld!"

"You really think so?"

"Of course they would! I mean... unless you're a huge jerk to them or something. You know how fickle kids can be!"

Oh... you're doomed.

END OF EPISODE 1

That's all for tonight's thread! Thanks for playing! Let me know what you think!
>>
>>46817
Oh boy. This is going to be something. We might have to actually get good to live.
>>
>>46817
I'm thoroughly interested, and while the story obviously builds of some common ideas and tropes, the interactivity breathes some life into it and you seem to pull off a touch of originality to the whole thing, I'll look forward to the next episode.
>>
And Archived! http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=Dark%20Gate%20Academy

I think this went well. The rest of this thread may be used for discussion, as I'd prefer each episode be given it's on thread. Future episodes will be longer than this first one as well. Episode 2 will be up tomorrow, follow my QM Twitter for any updates. https://twitter.com/bookerman32

>Player Question
What do you expect from future episodes of this Quest?
>>
>>46934
I expect waifu wars that'll nearly end the quest.
>>
>>46940
This will be the one constant of any quest I run.

You're probably right, too.
>>
>>46934
Us being a jobber and nearly dying on a daily basis. Our affinity being sealed up harder than most because it's bullshit/will kill us if we're not prepped for it. Also everyone hating on us and able to kick our ass.
>>
>>46961
I look forward to it. I'll sell pitchforks and torches to everyone!
>>
>>46934
tragedy, some real important people and waifus getting killed off.
High difficulty.
Something subtle but powerful being up with Ryojis affinity.
Stupid decisions from players and rage from consequences
>>
>>46961
Hey man, it can't be any worse than previous wars...right? Right?

I will look this up in full later. Might be able to pick this one up but not participate as much as the other one. If the characters are as fun as the other quest though, odds are a fun time will be had.
>>
>>47041
>Hey man, it can't be any worse than previous wars...right? Right?

This Quest has 4 times as many girls as the other one. And these characters can be killed off. I can see a waifu meltdown happening in the future.
>>
>>47025
Oh man, that last one is most definitely going to happen.
>>
can we choose decisions with dubs from now on?
>>
>>47148
I prefer using the method of which decision receives the most votes in a 10-15 minute timeframe, with write-ins.

Having decision be made via dubs causes choices to be made by chance, and not because it's the choice the majority of players want to make.
>>
>>47290
well can we atleast create these decisions from our own instead of the predetermined 3 ones?
>>
>>47290
This is a good idea.
I think dubs work best in comedy or random quests that focus on pure fun.
>>
>>47677
>>47290
>with write-ins
looks like we can.

also im expecting our affinity to end up being group buffs or something passive like that, maybe healing? pft... punk cleric
>>
>>47290
I'm getting 11Eyes impressions from this quest. Was that your influence?
