You are Velo, who has taken the guise of William of House Shakespeare.

You are a bard, whose goal is to do the Eight, that is, fuck a bitch in every kingdom plus the Riverlands. You also have been told by voices in your head to only fuck noble-women so that you may avoid STIs and STDs.

Your previous master fell asleep and your life and story has been stolen by a meme vulture #2.

>Continue with contemplating your sexuality
>do some more singing and shit to make more money
>give up information and risk getting killed
>contemplate the Holy Dubs, maybe attempt to make a holy trinity of Dubs, Trips and Quads?
>give money to a scout to send word to Castle Black that they need obsidian to kill white walkers

>write down algebra, physics and chemistry formulas on a piece of paper, maybe with a few diagrams of coal factory and crude oil refiner?

>masturbate in tent.

Also, is the pic related the type of holding you would quite like to have, or is it quite Little Finger holding?

You sit in Tyrion's carriage across from the dwarf, the two of you staring at each other as you awkwardly wait for him to finish serving himself wine. '

The inside smells of perfume and incense, to mask the smell of B.O. due to the lack of proper showers on the road. You can vaguely make out the shapes of the guards through the silken, curtains across the entrances to his personal coach as it rumbles along across the ground.

Despite being designed for royalty and nobility – the richest of the nobility, the ride is still quite bumpy. Yet Tyrion pours the alcohol into its cup with the mastery and precision of a man used to the minor jostlings that accompany driving over an uneven, dirt road.

“Wine?” he offers you, holding out the goblet. You decide it would be improper and disrespectful to refuse and it might taste good. You accept wordlessly.

You sniff it before drinking and are surprised at how sweet it is upon taking a sip of the red drink.

“Is this from the Arbor or the Reach?” you ask, knowing your Westerosi wines rather well.

Tyrion raises his eyebrows as he pours his own glass. Y'know, if you squint just so and look at him in the right light he . . . sorta can pass for Peter Dinklage. “You know your wines, my good bard. It's from the Reach. Have you ever been?”

“No,” you admit. But you've written a quest taking place there. You inwardly sigh, all those plot lines you had planned gone forever.

“Well, I apologize if you find my lodgings a bit cramped. This carriage was designed for a man of my . . . stature. Tell me, William Shakespeare, I've been trying to detect that accent for some time now and I can't quite place it. Your diction is odd, but you speak like a man educated. So I must ask, where are you from?” He peers at you with his mismatched eyes, calculating your . . . worth?

The black sheep of the exiled family? Doesn't seem like someone they would want out and about.

I'd say that once we showed we had the green dreams they poured what they could into us, giving us a skill to use on the road and teaching us our letters and numbers. They want us to be the best and thus raise the family to stature again.

Course we also suffer from memory loss as part of our green sight. We have no idea where they are anymore or what happened to us until we woke up naked in a field

“I'm from a noble house that was exiled hundreds of years ago. We have developed a . . . different way of speaking in our years of isolation, but have always valued education. House Shakespeare,” you lie.

Tyrion looks down into his wine a moment, racking his brain. “I've never heard of a House Shakespeare,” he admits, taking a sip as he continues to study you.

“Oh, yes. We were a small Northern House. Doubt we'd be in any annals of history – especially none south of the Neck,” you force a laugh. Tyrion takes a laugh with you, hopefully it's more genuine than your own.

“Where were you exiled?” he asks, a smug smirk on his lips.

“Northwest of Bear Island.”

“Northwest of Bear . . .” Tyrion repeats the line incredulously. Eventually he leans back and eyes you like you've just let him in on some big secret. Shit.

“So you were exiled to The Frozen Shore? Would explain why you're so pale. However if that was hundreds of years ago, your family has been intermarrying with . . .”

“Wildlings,” you confirm the excuse for your lie, quicker than you probably should have. “Yes. Although we've always conducted ourselves as proper Northern houses have. Eddard Stark is still my Lord Paramount, in my eyes.”

“I wonder if his brother the Crow would think the same?” Tyrion asks with a cocked eyebrow and an equally cocky smile. “Perhaps I should inform them there's a wildling singer south of the Wall accompanying the King.”

You feel dread in the pit of your stomach until Tyrion laughs and waves it off. “Just jesting, my lord Shakespeare. To be honest, I've never held the same ire for wildlings. In the South you all seem so foreign, regardless of which side of the Wall you were born. Your . . . secret is safe with me. And why have you fled your cozy North-of-the-Wall fortress. Assuming you have a castle, after your family's exile.”

“Had,” you continue – solidifying the story. “It was raided by . . . Ice men.”

“Ice men? That some tribe of wildlings?”

“No. Men made of ice.”

Tyrion laughs and pours himself another glass of red wine. "Spare me the stories of grumpkins and snarks, please. Your lands in the Frozen Shore were raided. Then what happened?”

“All my brothers, sisters, father and mother were slaughtered. My aunts and uncles too. I fled with a few loyal men on a boat back to the North. We were wrecked upon a rock and I was the sole survivor.”

“The last, living survivor of an exiled house, slaughtered almost to extinction. Quite the tale you've spun. singer.”

You frown. “You don't believe me?” you ask.

Tyrion shrugs. “Tell me. Your House words and sigil. Now.”

“My house sigil is a man conversing with a skull,” you rattle off the lie without missing a beat. “Our house words are: To Be or Not To Be.”

“Odd house words. What do they mean?” Tyrion interrogates.

“Well,” you begin. “To Be or Not To Be is meant to be a question. Life, which is filled with so many pains and tortures . . . is it truly preferable to death? That's why the sigil is of a man attempting to speak with the dead, to pierce that veil and find the answer. You see, we can not know whether it is better – truly – to live in this world as opposed to the . . . dreamless sleep that is shuffling off our mortal coils. So a question to be asked whenever you are making a decision that may lead to your death –”

“Or your house's exile,” Tyrion notes perceptively.

“Correct. Perhaps . . . ask yourself: Is it better to die . . . or live a –”

“A life as a ridiculed, little monster?” Tyrion asks.

You grimace a bit. “I meant no offense my lord.”

“Of course you didn't. And I have taken none. I guess it is to be expected that you Northerners have such dreary ideas about the world. 'Winter is Coming',” he mocks before scoffing. “Personally, I choose the 'To Be' option. Despite life's hardships there is always a chance to enjoy some measure of relief. More wine?”

“Yes please,” you say and accept the bottle from him. You manage to pour yourself another glass without spilling it and staining your clothes.

You decide to just strum some music and sing for Lord Tyrion instead of making a much graver mistake of telling him something that could very well piss the dwarf off.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCAFD8mMqls

You go with a much bawdier song that's fun to sing for the Imp. Upon quickly understanding the context, the dwarf is eventually left in stitches. He nods his head to the sound and the comedic finish of your musical tale.

“A Northerner with an actual sense of humor? Now I've seen everything,” he comments post-hilarity.

He flips you another gold dragon in appreciation, before laying back and listening, tapping his foot along to the song.

. . .

Eventually a Lannister guard in enameled armor with red trim rides up next to the entrance of your carriage. “We're approaching Winterfell, my Lord of Lannister.”

Tyrion's eyes shoot open as he rouses himself from the half-conscious nap you had lulled him into with your strumming. He jumps to his feet and bends his knees, readying himself for a royal visit and the decorum it requires as opposed to the much more relaxed posture of shooting the shit with an ex-noble, ex-wilding, smallfolk singer.

“Well I believe I will be greeting the Warden of the North soon. Eddard Stark – the ice sculpture that moves.” Tyrion chortles with the self-created nickname. You think you understand what nickname he's referencing and riffing on. Tyrion turns to regard you with his full attention. “I believe it's time for the Stark household to feast their eyes on the Imp of Casterly Rock."

His two mismatched eyes narrow as he continues. "Will, if you wish to accompany I'll allow it. Although, I believe telling Lord Stark you have violated your exile may anger him. Starks and their hard sense of justice and honor -- he may very well execute you. I doubt he'll recognize you, however. So you should be fine as long as you can muster up the cunning to lie.” He finishes his spiel sarcastically, poking fun at how Northerners are often blunt and honest unlike the Southroners who are much more prone to intrigue.

“Actually,” you begin, an embarrassed blush creeping up your cheeks. Tyrion looks at you warily. “Eddard Stark exiled me from Winterfell last time I was here, Lord Tyrion.”

His eyes go wide in shock and his head recoils. “W. . . what?! You, personally?!” Tyrion asks. You nod your head. “How?! WHY?!”

Ohhhh, how are you going to explain this? “Lord Eddard Stark did not know who I was when we met. I . . . angered him with the things I told him. They were not crimes, but they deeply disturbed him.”

“What things?” he asks incredulously.

“Lord Tyrion I can . . . see the future. And the past. Of most everyone except myself. The Northerners call them the green dreams and those who have them greenseers.”

Tyrion shakes his head, exasperated. “Not more childrens' tales.” He puts his head in his hand.

“It doesn't matter if you believe me or not. Even if I am lying or mistaken about my visions – all that matters is I told Eddard information that infuriated him. He ordered me out of his city, never to return.”

Tyrion puts his hands on his hips and thinks. “Alright. Listen. How long were you at Stark's court?”

“I spoke with him alone. Less than an hour before he commanded I leave.”

He digests that information before extending both arms towards you. “Good! That's good! It means he didn't have much time to memorize your face. Listen. You can stay in my carriage when I go out to entreat with the Stark family. Or you can disguise your appearance and go mingle with the rest of the smallfolk you're pretending to be part of." He gestures out of his carriage, wiggling his fingers.

"Or I can let you out in the town and you can stay outside Winterfell. Lord Stark will be none the wiser." Tyrion shakes his head.

"I think I honestly must commend you. You're living up to your House's Legacy you . . . ugh,” he waves away the displeasurable end to that thought

“I'll disguise myself!” you declare. You pull the hood of that swanky cloak you bought over your head and stretch out your hands to display your ingenious effort. “Think this'll work?” you ask Tyrion.

He 'hmmms' in appreciation as he studies your masterful disguise, eventually shrugging. “Mayhaps. Does Lord Stark know your name?”

“I believe his brother knew and may have told him. Don't worry, I'll go by the pseudonym 'Hamlet' for as long as I am here at Winterfell.”

. . .

Tyrion paces the tiny walking space of his carriage for the rest of the journey to Winterfell. You sit, knees knocking and jittery as you start to question how wise a decision this was. Soon it is too late however as you see Tyrion's carriage pass the gate of Winterfell to enter the courtyard. The carriage stops and guards come to one end to aid Tyrion's egress. Tyrion nods his head towards the exit on the other side of his wheelhouse and you make your departure stealthily, quickly finding where the rest of the servants are flowing towards.

You join the crowd and feel smug in how no one could possibly pick you out of it. You blend in perfectly.

You listen to the murmurings of the lowborn crowd as they ogle from the sidelines – the gathering of Lord Stark and his household bowing in unison for the King and his cadre proving quite the splenderous sight. Eddard Stark – too busy greeting his King and old friend – Robert Baratheon – fails to notice you watching from the shadows.

You're giddy, viewing the scene – knowing this first part so well. The two men converse until Robert asks to be taken to the crypts. Cersei objects but is quickly silenced as her brotherlover guides her away from the bromance that is the Robert-Ned friendship.

The King and the Lord of Winterfell go off together to pay their respects to Eddard's beloved sister and the rest of the underlings are left to uncomfortably idle in the courtyard. They chat while waiting for the two important men to return.

The Lannister – well, Baratheon – family and the Stark family begin to converse. Quite amicably too, surprisingly. You've never gotten to see this 'behind the scenes' look after Ned and Robert go to the crypt. Both in the book and the show. This will be some new material for you.

You can't help but feel satsified. Of course Eddard wouldn't recognize you. He's too busy meeting the King of the country and distracted by all these nobles to even spare a glance towards a common –

GAK! The arm wrap around your neck and chokes you before you can make a sound. You instinctively raise your hands up to pull it off and notice that the black cloth you grab is a soft velvet. You seem to have ended up near the back of the crowd while entranced with the glimpse before you because no one turns to stare or gasp at the murder that's occurring right behind them. You wish you could scream but you can't. A strong force drags you struggling and unable to scream away from the servants for many many meters until you're behind a great stone building. Eventually, to your relief, the arm lets go of your neck before you could fully pass out. You fall to your knees, heaving. A jovial laugh from behind emerges from your attacker's mouth.

“Hello there, friend.” Benjen Stark. Godfuckingdamnit it. You breathe hard and uncomfortably, raising your hand up to the phantom feeling of an arm still choking you. Benjen walks around to your front, his boots crunching on the gravel. A hand extends down to help you up, fingers curling to gesture that you should accept his help. “Figured some privacy might be good before you got your fool head cut off. I believe this is the second time I've saved your skin now.”

You knock his hand away and stand up on shaky legs. “Your brother didn't see me.”

Benjen looks you up and down, critically. “Wouldn't take him long. You stick out like a Brother of the Night's Watch wearing purple.”

“Well what do you suggest?” you ask, still rubbing your neck.

“Hmmmm, well I would have suggested not coming back, but you're here so I'll go for the next best thing.”

He grabs the hood of your cloak and yanks it off your head. “Don't have your cloak up. You look like a thief or a spy trying to hide his face. A man who looks like he has something to hide is the first man you examine to see if he's hiding something.”

“I was going to go by the name of Hamlet,” you inform Benjen. He rolls his eyes.

“I never told my brother your name. He just knows you as some arsehole who claimed to know the future. Doesn't even know you decided to put on a garish outfit and call yourself a bard. Act natural, stay as far from Ned as possible and shave off that fucking hair. My brother tends to pay attention to little blonde shits more than regular shits. Alright?”

Uhhhh, you don't know if you're cool with shaving off all your hair, but you move on to something a bit more important. “Don't let the Lannisters know about my involvement. Because they will kill me.”

“Why?” Benjen asks, confusion on his face.

What if Bran doesn't get crippled and doesn't become a warg?

Also, with out Bran falling and getting hurt Tyrion isn't accused of it, therefore he wouldn't be arrested and never meets Bronn.

We need to becareful with what we tamper with. Changing things will have implications and the more we change the less we know about the future.

He knows about Bran falling. Not the reasons. All he needs to do is be in the right place.

Then we have the incest couple red handed.
>>
>>408011

You are missing the point and misapplying it to a situation that was just mentioned, not the specific topic of conversation.

The whole point is that if you change something from that point forward we will not exactly know how things are going to unfold.

Back to your example

We know that if he falls out of the window soon afterwards he gets his warg powers.

We do not know that if he doesn't fall out of the window if he will still get those powers at the same point in time he did before therefore our power to tell the future is diminished.

Maybe that better explains the point I was making.
>>
>>408062
It does.
>>
>>408025

Bran isn't the big ripple with changing this situation.

If Tyrion isn't accused of doing it then he never meets Bronn and it will continue from there.

We are going to lose our biggest advantage if we start changing major events.
>>
>>408092
Why are you assuming that Jon never becoming Commander of the Night's Watch hasn't changed a lot of shit already(warning Benjen)?
>>
>>408098

I'm sure it has. I'm just pointing out that we are going to shoot our selves in the foot if we continue to warn everyone of all the bad things that are going to happen. Some of it needs to happen the way it did for us to maintain an advantage in this cut throat world, especially if we plan on making anything of ourselves.

Well you're certainly not shaving your head, but Benjen doesn't need to know that. He also doesn't need to know that Bran will be pushed and that it's because Cersei and Jaime will be fucking like rabbits. Telling him the truth outright might cause him to do something rash and stupid. Best if he just prepares for the event without much distraction.

“Just trust me. Alright. Are you still prepared to cushion Bran's fall from the tower?”

Benjen nods his head. “Yes I am. When is it happening, greenseer? You said the day of a hunt?”

You nod in response. “Yes. It should be in a few weeks from now.”

He claps you on the shoulder. “Alright. Together, we'll save my nephew from a crippling injury. I'll head out. Wait a few moments before leaving yourself.”

Benjen turns on his heels and exits from between the stone building and the wall where he had dragged you.

This situation was eerily similar to your first encounter with the First Ranger.

After you count a minute out yourself using the standard 'Mississippi' tactic, you exit and find that people are starting to disperse to their lodgings. Servants are carrying bundles of clothes and other necessary living accouterments into guest houses for the King, Queen and other nobles to live lavishly during their stay. Ned and Robert have already moved on as have their families. You spy Tyrion waiting patiently as his own servants begin taking the things he brought with him – a lot of wine included in that list – to wherever he is meant to be sleeping during this royal visit.

You approach Tyrion who smiles up at you, as if glad to see a stray cat return by his side.

“Well, Will. There is to be a grand feast tonight. I will be spending my time before the evening's festivities in the Stark library reading. I hear they have the only copy of 'Engines of War' by Maester Ayrmidon. Quite a fascinating tome. At least that's what I've heard from scholars across the seven kingdoms. You accept the Dwarf's invitation and follow him all the way to the decripit, old building that houses the Stark family's collection of books. As you step inside, following Maester Luwin's footsteps as he guides the Lord of Lannister to the tome in particular he wishes to read – you feel a pang of sadness. This place goes up in smoke soon, you realize.

In the novel it was just a set piece for the assassination plot on Bran's life, but seeing it here in person now makes you realize just how horrid a loss burning this place will be. Would be, perhaps. The library is old, musty and filled with scrolls and novels.

Maester Luwin speaks to Tyrion about it with pride. It may not be as vast or expansive as some religious libraries or other collections – but it is still quite a glorious, informative source of information for the Northern people.

The maester pulls out the book the Imp was looking for and hands it to him graciously. Tyrion finds a nice table with a lit candle to sit down and read, leaving you to your own devices.

You ask Maester Luwin if the library has a book about alchemy. He nods his head sagaciously and strides off to a nearby shelf, putting his fingers on the books and drawing it across them as he inspects each title.

Eventually he makes an 'Ah!' sound and draws a green-covered book off of the shelf, handing it to you with reverence.

You bow slightly in thanks before taking the book to Tyrion's table and sitting across from him.

You pop that sucker open and lay it out on the table. You begin reading slowly, unsure how informative this tome will be or how esoteric it will sound compared to books back on Earth. However . . . holy shit.

A few minutes in and you're speed reading this shit. It's actually quite simple. Skip all the author's boring pomp and flowery language about ethics, propriety and his journey through life and go straight to the ingredients. It's just that simple. Your knowledge of nature helps you a lot in this endeavor since types of leaves and other natural substances make up the bulk of the ingredients used in everything from milk of the poppy, to dreamwine, to infusing color into metal to wildfire. You could make all this shit easy if you had the proper components.

You're an alchemist now. If you knew it would be that easy you would have been an alchemist years ago. Wow. You look up from your book hours later, seeing the hot candlestick has shortened considerably while the pool of wax around it has grown into a thicky goopy pile.

Tyrion has been silently and contentedly reading his own tome next to you. Making no sound and focusing intently on the information he inspects.

He looks up at you and squints. “Enjoying your book?” he asks. You answer him with a simple nod.

Soon the noise of revelry wafts in through the second story window, indicating the feast has begun.

Tyrion notices and you give him a silent look asking if it's time to put the books away and head downstairs.

“I think I'll stay for a while longer,” Tyrion informs you. “But go join the fun if you wish.”

You put the book on alchemy away and instead start inspecting a manual on how to properly utilize a knife in melee combat. It is a very large scroll with a multitude of instructions and potential uses with helpful diagrams to boot. Unfortunately, you've never been much of a knife fighter and a lot of the suggestions and styles revolve around using a knife as backup to a sword or as a parrying weapon.

Eventually Tyrion concludes his nightly session of reading and tells you he's going to catch the tail end of the feast. You say your goodbyes and with your newly acquired privacy, move around some furniture to create an open space for yourself to have room to practice a few swings and moves with your dagger.

Unfortunately . . . you don't think you're reading the manuals right. Well, maybe you are but you just don't truly get how you're doing the techniques differently then how they seem to be illustrated. You just aren't an experienced combatant and all you've managed to do is flail around and waste your time.

Perhaps if you want to learn how to fight you should practice with a real opponent.

Thankfully you don't look foolish to anyone since you did this alone. It is however coming up on the early morning by the end of your attempts and you need to catch some sleep.

You find where the rest of the servants are sleeping and snag yourself a cramped, slightly uncomfortable place to slumber, aided only by the bedroll you brought with you.

You wake up with a sore back and a headache, but quickly adjust to the cold winter morn and prepare yourself for a new day in Winterfell.

If you're correct Jon had his first meeting with Tyrion after the feast last night. Meaning you have a week or two before Bran gets pushed out the window by Jaime and Cersei. What do you do in the meantime?

You grab a blunted, tourney longsword in the Winterfell courtyard and do a few practice swings with it. It's a bit heavy in your hands and you've never tried to swing a sword before, but you decide you wish to practice.

You find a few Lannister guardsmen who are also focusing on keeping their skills sharp as well and ask if they would be willing to spar with you and give you a few pointers on how to fight with a sword.

A few laugh at you like you're making a jest, before they realize you're being serious and call you a fucking idiot. You're some commoner bard with a smooth voice. Why the fuck would they waste time teaching you how to fight? Until one of them points out that The Imp has taken a liking to you and it's best not to start trouble with one of the lords they serve.

So you eventually cowtow them into 'training' you which consists primarily of them beating you with their own weaponry while you flail uselessly. A couple of the 'nicer' ones decide to help out and critique your grip, your stance, how you swing the sword and pretty much point out how you're an idiot that doesn't know the first thing about combat.

Thankfully, through all this browbeating and practice you do manage to pick up a few basic martial skills involving the sword that you incorporate into you still very flawed style of 'hack the enemy until they're dead'.

Your days are spent training in the yard during the day, supping with Tyrion at night and reading until you go to bed in the servant's quarters.

A few days into your impromptu sword training you notice Bran and Tommen far across the yard swinging at each other with practice swords of their own, fully armored and protected. Above them on a walkway you spot the real Arya Stark and Jon Snow watching them go at it with boyish youthfulness.

If things go like they do in the book . . . yep, Bran wins the fight and what follows is a heated argument between Robb and Joffrey. You're too far away to intervene or affect it and frankly if you tried something you're afraid Joffrey might sick The Hound on you.

. . .

Your sword training is very brutal on your body. Bruises from where the guardsmen hit you litter your flesh and you wake up everyday feeling sore and in pain.

Despite how in pain you are, eventually over the weeks your body's muscles harden and steel themselves against the pain. You build a bit of pain tolerance and manage to get yourself out of bed everyday despite how much hurt is coursing through you.

Maybe you're getting healthier? Or maybe you're just getting used to being beaten up.

Whatever the case, soon the day comes where King Robert is planning to leave Winterfell and return to King's Landing. He's bringing Eddard Stark with him as his Hand and Jon Snow will soon be joining the Night's Watch.

First, however, there is to be a hunt and most of the men are leaving the fortress to look for stags to kill. They gather their horses and their hunting companions and servants and head out into the wilderness.

Which means Jaime is staying behind to plough Cersei and Bran will be falling to his crippling.

As you walk around the keep, you spot Benjen who gives you a nod of understanding. He knows to prepare to soften the fall.

So, how do you want to get involved with altering this little part of history?

You think you'll let Benjen handle this part. Instead of getting involved personally, you place yourself on the opposite side of The Old Tower in Winterfell, strumming your lute and practice singing 'Ploughing a Troll' for when you play it at Cersei and Jaime's execution.

You sigh. You probably just changed the course of events of A Song of Ice and Fire so majorly that your future knowledge is null and void. With a twinge of regret you rue how you didn't capitalize on that information to make yourself rich and powerful – but Bran doesn't deserve to lose his legs. No, you're proud of what you did. You just scored a major victory for the Starks here at Winterfell.

You relax, basking in your oncoming and inevitable victory.

Until you hear the yelling.

“MAESTER!” Benjen's voice, screaming at the top of his lungs. “MAEEEEESTER!” You hear the rolling of wheels.

Time to check on the 'fall' out of your actions. Hah, that's a good one. You rush from where you sit against a wall in the courtyard and follow the sound of The First Ranger's voice as well as the rest of the commoners flocking to the source of commotion.

Eventually you spy the scene from over the shoulder of the master of horse here at Winterfell. Benjen pushes a cart filled with hay and one small auburn haired child through the crowd, who make a wide berth for the agitated Crow.

“Nuncle, I'm fine. I don't need to see Maester Luwin,” Bran comments from the hay pile. He tries to get up out of the cart, but Benjen pushes the little lord back down.

“You fell from a tower, Bran. Do not argue with me. The Maester is seeing your leg. Do you know what could have happened?” Benjen asks, a combination of anger and worry in his voice.

“It's just a sprain,” Bran whines.

Really our knowledge still has some place to play with all of this, mostly for events that happen outside of the War of the Five Kings. Our knowledge of the White Walkers and of Dany's efforts across the Narrow Sea are still quite applicable.

So was saving Brans legs worth not knowing anything about the new future?

Should have just let the events happen how they were suppose to and kept the advantage of knowing the future.

You let Benjen past you and the rest of the shocked and scared household as he rushes towards the Maester's Tower.

You smile to yourself. You did good. You stand among the murmuring smallfolk – already beginning to rumor monger about what just happened and what fantastical preceding events could have caused such a spectacle. Some insist Bran just fell because at some point the lordling was going to make a misstep during his climbing sprees. Others argue Bran is too natural a climber and would never fall of his own accord.

Suddenly however, in the wake of the same trail Benjen and his cart came by, you spot Jaime Lannister – The Kingslayer. His white cloak billows behind him. Gleaming golden armor catches the sun almost as handsomely as the light that shines upon his handsome features. He strides forward powerfully and angrily – dragging two people with him by their arms. One looks to be a peasant girl and the other you recognize as one of the Lannister guardsmen who you 'sparred' with during your sword training.

Jaime Lannister spots Jory Cassel, the captain of Winterfell's household guard who has recently emerged onto the scene as well at the behest of some informer.

Jaime hauls the two commoners along beside him as he approaches the guard captain.

“What seems to be the problem, Ser?” Cassel asks as the member of the Kingsguard approaches. Jory's hand rests on the pommel of his sword.

The Lannister knight thrusts the two individuals forward with an angry huff and begins to explain.

“These two idiots almost got Lord Stark's secondborn son killed.” Wait . . . what?

“And how did they manage that?” Jory asks with a squint.

“They were fucking in a tower.” What? You look between the two faces of the man and woman Jaime is holding in an iron grip. Both of them look guilty and very, very scared. “Your charge was climbing and managed to spy them in the act. They scared him and he lost his grip.”

“I assume you witnessed this, Ser?” Jory inquires further.

“Yes. As did the Queen, my sister, who I was escorting as she walked across the grounds.”

Jory sighs. “Alright, I'll put them in a cell into the King and Lord Stark returns.”

This . . . doesn't sound right.

Yes. We still know he needs to make his way to the Three Eyed Raven, we know that all of the Stark kids are wargs and can help them with training as well. He has seen the twincest and can oust the kids of Robert which prevents Sansa from losing Lady and from Arya losing Nymeria.

No. You have to investigate. That can't be what happened. While everyone is focused on the spectacle before them you rush back across Winterfell towards the Broken Tower. The one Bran climbed and fell from.

You look for the door at the base of the spire and when you check the portal thankfully it is unlocked. You rush up the stairs and stride into the room that Jaime and Cersei were supposed to be shagging inside.

You immediately smell the odors that accompany coitus – so someone was definitely fucking. You search it thoroughly and find the smallclothes of a woman. Upon examination of it however you determine it is definitely not something you'd ever imagine Cersei would wear under her royal outfit. It seems scratchy and poorly made – a commoner's under garments. Like that of the peasant woman you saw Jaime accusing. You go to where Bran stood on the ledge only to be pushed to his crippling -- at least as it happened in the novel.

Staring over the edge you see a chunk of stone has broken off from the tower and shattered upon falling to the ground. Looking at the chunk missing from the window ledge Bran must have been standing on and you put two and two together. For some odd reason, unlike in the novel, the ledge Bran was on was loose and he must have accidentally pulled that section of stone off the tower while scrambling for purchase after being spooked by the act of sex he witnessed, but couldn't properly comprehend.

You sigh out. Shit. Jaime was also fully armored when you saw him a moment ago and this event couldn't have happened more than few minutes prior to your investigation. You doubt Jaime could have re-dressed and donned his armor after shagging his sister so quickly, while also finding two scapegoats. He'd also have to have . . . well, maybe Cersei could have planted the smallclothes here but where would she get . . . FUCK! How did this happen? You fold your arms across your chest and grimace as you pace.

You catch your breath before you hyperventilate and ponder on what your next step is going to be.

You gather the peasant woman's smallclothes into a bundle and take it with you as you descend the tower.

You exit and look around, paranoid, for anyone who might be spying on you. Thankfully you are alone and think no one is coming to investigate. Probably taking The Kingslayer at his word.

You rush across the grounds of Winterfell, spotting a small contingent of guards along the way. You recognize Cayn among them. Thankfully he doesn't recognize you as he is too focused on his duties. They make their way to the broken tower, just a little too slow compared to you.

You stuff the smallclothes into the saddlebag on your horse. You're quite thankful Tyrion has been paying for the stabling and feeding of your steed. Although he's also covering the cost of stabling and feeding you so maybe you don't exactly have your priorities in order.

After that bit of business is dealt with you decide to wait outside by the gates of Winterfell until someone - most likely Benjen - feels like contacting you.

There's a guard posted there by the gate and you sidle up to him, warming yourself by his fire.

“You're that William Speare guy, aren't ya?” he asks, inspecting your face. You nod your head as you rub your hands while they warm up. “Mind singing me that song about winter coming?”

You sigh, before whipping out your lute to oblige him.

. . .

You find yourself waiting by the gate for many hours, entertaining the various guards that change position every so often. Some of them more attentive and focused on their duties than others. Only once it is starting to get dark does a man atop the wall call out that The King and all those who accompanied him on the hunt are returning. The portcullis opens and soon Eddard Stark will be riding right by you.

You stand there, playing your lute as you feel yourself begin to sweat in nervous anticipation as the clomping of horse hooves sound louder and louder with each passing second.

You nearly shit your breeches in terror as Eddard Stark is the first rider through the gates. He speeds past you into the courtyard however – more concerned with some dire news. Probably heard his second born son fell out of a tower. Regardless he didn't notice you which is very good.

Seems like he truly didn't even pay you a small fraction of his attention – even without shaving off all your blonde hair. He probably thinks you just another blonde-haired hanger on the Lannisters brought with them from the South. As the Warden of the North dismounts and stomps through the snow with audible crunches, the rest of the procession follows him in his wake. Robb Stark, King Robert Baratheon, Joffrey Baratheon, Sandor Clegane. They all stream in through the gates – a few dead boars being carried by the servants and attendees to the royal hunters.

Despite it being night time, Winterfell is abuzz with activity due to the seemingly horrid news of some tragic accident. Even though you're sure he'll calm down once he realizes Bran made it out relatively scott free – the panic of the initial reaction is still probably settling in and will take awhile to be banished from Eddard's visage completely.

As for yourself, it seems Benjen hasn't tried to contact you at all in all this time. The portcullis is currently open and you think you could manage to slip out if you wanted . . . but what do you want to do right now? You've partially succeeded at what you were trying to accomplish, so your next tentative step is up in the air.

After the procession of royalty passes you, a sinking feeling of dread enters your bones. You want those smallclothes gone permanently. You rush to your horse and take a whole saddle bag with you – the one containing the female's undergarments.

You rush around looking for some place out of the way to throw this piece of clothing on a fire, but whenever you think you find an abandoned cookpit and some privacy to remove and discard the evidence a guard walks around the corner or some drunken member of the household stumbles over to where you are.

No matter how hard you try or where you look you can't get a moment alone without being under someone's watchful eyes.

Unless . . . the library! There's a fireplace and Maester Luwin should be busy acting mother hen to Bran. Which means if you're lucky the place will be empty.

You rush across the grounds and up the stairs to the second floor. You peer around the many bookshelves, looking for Tyrion but even he seems to be out at the moment. Probably drinking, whoring or both.

Alone you gather some firewood into the bottom of the smokestack and strike up a roaring fire to serve as a disposal for the hot item you're currently carrying.

Once the fire begins raging, you pull the underwear out of your horse's saddle bag and chuck it in. The fire explodes at access to consuming the new fuel, eating it greedily. You nod your head in satisfaction – that's one complication dealt –

“What are you doing?!” Tyrion demands as ascends the final stair to the second floor. His eyes dart to the still roaring fire, one unrecognizable chunk of feminine clothing still visible to him as he approaches. “What was that?”

“Just throwing away some evidence I fucked a maid. At least . . . I think she was a maid.”

Tyrion squints at you in confusion. “Why do you need to hide the fact that you fucked a serving girl.”

“I stained her . . . clothes. I thought –”

“Nevermind!” Tyrion shouts, waving his hands, signaling you to stop. “I realize I no longer care about this. Whatever Northern or barbarian cultural tick this is I do not wish to learn about it.”

You smile at Tyrion. Good . . . seems like he probably isn't the one responsible for planting this in the tower if he was that quick to accept your bullshit.

“So,” Tyrion begins speaking. “I'm glad to have found you, despite interrupting your . . . nocturnal activities. I need to tell you some important information that affects the future our potential . . . relationship. When the Royal train leaves tomorrow for King's Landing I will instead be heading to the Wall with Benjen Stark – the First Ranger – and his nephew – the Bastard of Winterfell, Jon Snow. I've read a few . . . Northern fairy tales about its construction and wish to see it with my own eyes. You're invited to accompany me and I promise you more gold from myself personally than you will ever see relying on the good will of strangers in the South."

"Seeing as you are practically a native I would love to hear your perspective on the subject of the lands beyond the wall as we travel. I will . . . understand, however if you wish to stay far away from the Night's Watch considering your status as a wildling or . . . near wildling. If that is to be the case, then please – I would appreciate hearing you play one last time at breakfast tomorrow before we part ways. You'll get a chance to eat with the Queen herself – my sister.”

He smiles widely at you, like you would actually enjoy getting a chance to play for Queen Cersei. Y'know, maybe any other bard would love the prospect of impressing her but the situation is a lot more dicey for you.

“I'll accompany you to the Wall,” you nod. “And I'll play for your sister tomorrow.”

Tyrion gives you a smarmy nod before delving into his coin pouch and tossing three gold dragons to you. “Good man,” he comments simply.

The two of you retire to reading late into the dead of night before you finally go to bed. Tyrion withdraws to his exquisitely furnished guestroom laid out for nobility while you're stuck sleeping in the servants quarters again.

. . .

You get up early the next morning and quickly wash off all the dirt, grime and sweat that has stuck to your body in your extreme exertions of effort the past day. You want to smell and look as good as possible to impress the royal family.

Tyrion finds you while you're still half-dressed and gestures with his head for you to hurry up. You ready yourself in a newly washed entertainer's outfit and comb through your hair with your fingers. Winterfell is a buzzing hive of activity as King Robert's people rush to pack everything back in the carriages for their departure today.

Following the half-man into The Great Hall you pass the rows of trestle tables where the King's company sup before they begin their lengthy journey back to the Capital.

Sitting upon the raised stone platform at the head of the Hall you spot The Kingslayer, Queen Cersei, Prince Tommen and Princess Myrcella. Tyrion gives his family a friendly wave which elicits smiles from all their faces – except Cersei, who frowns at him and even deeper once she notices he's bringing you as well. They aren't sitting at the center – reserved for the King or the Lord of Winterfell. They sit near the edge of the raised platform – bust still quite obviously above the rest of their servants and underlings.

Tyrion, upon mounting the platform with a big step considering his stubby legs, gestures to you.

“William the Bard,” he introduces you simply. “He is a singer I have recently recruited into my retinue and I wish for my wonderful siblings – and niece and nephew,” at mentioning them he playfully grabs at Myrcella's cheek, causing her to giggle, “to hear the melodious sounds he is capable of producing. As a gift from me to my family before we part ways.”

Jaime, chewing a piece of bacon, puts a hand on his knee and cock his head as he studies his little brother with surprise at that announcement. “Part ways?” he asks incredulously.

“Oh yes,” Tyrion confirms, taking a seat. “I intend to go see the Wall.”

“You aren't thinking of taking the black now are you?” Jaime inquires with a laugh.

“Oh, please. The whores would go begging from Casterly Rock to Dorne –”

“Don't speak such filth in front of the children,” Cersei chides her younger brother, practically covering Prince Tommen's ears.

“Well unlike the rest of you I find the Wall too fascinating a structure to not see it myself. It is the greatest man-made structure ever created. But since the rest of you are content to return to King's Landing without expanding your horizons I figure I'd at least treat you to something new. Prepare yourselves for an auditory experience. Will, take it away,” he raises his hand and gestures for you to begin.

No, you quite clearly stand out from the rest.

You can hover over the ID to find how many posts have been made by each user, and then click on it to highlight those posts. This way, it's quite simple to find the same user within a thread.

Please remember that 4chan is a largely anonymous community, and that using a name for no other reason than to stand out is very disruptive.
>>
>>412084
>look at this person not taking his own advice.
Ah, you see, certain meta topics are allowed on every board. Such as users refusing to follow the community's unspoken rules.

Please, just take the name off. You have an ID, you are unique enough as you are.

People do not need to know who you are from thread to thread, no matter what you believe. You only need a consistent identity in one thread.
If you roll poorly, you can point out who you are and everyone can laugh about it, but you do not need to disrupt everyone else by using a name.

You unsling the musical weapon from your back, put it into battle position and prepare to wow the Lions of Casterly Rock with a little Guns n Roses.

https://youtu.be/_lK4cX5xGiQ

You don't know what it is but your practice has surely paid off. Your vocals are on point and your lute strumming is phenomenal. You've never played this song so well – not even on your real guitar back home.

Altogether it's the best performance you've ever done you do feel a bit sad it's for a private audience instead of a roaring crowd. Although judging by some of the servants sitting nearby who are leaning back to hear your perform, at least a few of them will be talking about how amazing you sound and how wonderfully new your song is.

Tyrion is beaming – which speaks to you of a very big payout coming soon. Even the ice cold bitch that is Cersei Lannister melts a bit into a warm smile. Jaime taps his flagon to the beat some, entranced by the music. The children do even less to hide their enthusiasm. They claps and laugh – smile and sway, lost completely to the music.

It's official – you've wowed the current royalty. There's no way you won't develop a very positive reputation after this. It might spread across Westeros considering how loose some lips are. At the very least Varys will know who you are long before you arrive in King's Landing if you ever manage to do so.

Upon finishing, you bow graciously to The Queen and her brother. The whole pack of lions clap for you.

“Quite the entertainer,” Cersei comments, keeping her praise muted and graceful, acutely aware of her image at all times. “Where'd you find him?” she asks her disabled brother.

“On the road,” Tyrion responds simply, chewing some jelly covered toast content.

“You aren't wasting his talent bringing him to the wall are you, brother?” Jaime asks, truly concerned.

“Please, without him I'm sure I'll be quite bored,” Tyrion defends himself. “I can only bring so many books with me before the Septon here calls me a thief.”

Tommen audibly whines, before being prodded by his mother to act more princely. “Mother, can you command him to come with us instead.”

You feel your heart drop lower in your chest. Shit. She could actually probably do that.

Cersei half-smiles. “Well, I wouldn't wish to take away my little brother's only source of entertainment up at the Wall. Rumors say it is so cold the Northmen are afraid to laugh, afraid it will freeze in their throats and choke them to death. I fear for our brother's safety. He is so prone to cackling.”

Tyrion frowns.

“Of course, if the bard would prefer accompanying us and playing down South, I'd certainly offer him a position in our court.” Cersei fixes you with a LOOK that simultaneously arouses and scares you.

Tyrion's frown turns to a scowl.

“Unfortunately I already promised to accompany your younger brother, your Grace,” you explain to the Queen. “And I am a man of my word.”

Tyrion smiles slyly while Cersei suppresses the scoff she implies with her eyes.

“Blondest Stark I've ever seen,” Jaime mutters under his breath while his daughter – niece! – makes an audible sound of disappointment.

“Well, we best be off!” Tyrion exclaims as they finish breakfast, hopping out of his seat and waddling towards you. He escorts you from the Great Hall and only once you're finally out of earshot of his family does he begin whispering conspiratorially into your ear as he pats you on the lower back.

“I know you are not a stupid man, William and neither am I. We both realize the significance of the decision you just made and I want you to know that loyalty will never go unrewarded when you choose ME over someone else.”

You're back out in the courtyard when Tyrion slips the five golden dragons out of his pocket and into your hands. You salivate at the prospect of your newly acquired wealth.

“The King will be leaving soon and The First Ranger along with him. I would appreciate the Night's Watch as escorts up near their domain from bandits so do try to ready yourself quickly so we can all leave together. Don't worry about feed or rations – I'll take care of that. You just think about how you're going to spend your hard-earned money and what songs you're going to entertain me and the brave men of the Night's watch with!”

Tyrion gives a delightful chuckle and then walks off with his curiously clumsy gait. Meanwhile, you ponder on that question he just posed.

We need to make a guitar. That way we'll even be more distinct than we already are. Also let's buy an okay sword and a really good dagger. I think in the way to the wall we tell Tyrion we can see parts of the past and future. Make him lean towards supporting us over his family. Also try in convince Jon to not take the black

He is the one to save the realm of men, we can probably give him some prophecy to make it easier, like " When some one says kill the boy, THAN JUST KILL THE FUCKING BOY! IT`S NOT A METAPHOR OR SOME SHIT! AND BECAUSE I KNOW YOU ARE FUCKING STUPID; THE BOY IS OLLY!"

You decide to splurge. You pay off some Lannister servants for a relatively unused spare outfit of Jaime's that he won't miss. You manage to bribe the vinters on Robert Baratheon's staff to slip you three bottles of wine. You chat and convince Maester Luwin to accept payment for alchemical supplies of the highest quality. It costs a pretty penny – well, multiple pretty gold dragons – but you think it'll be worth it. You ride your horse into Winter Town to the cheers of a few passersby who remember your masterful performance. You go around obtaining various articles of clothing to construct your own personalized outfit to stave off the cold up in the far northern blizzards you'll be facing on your journey.

Finally, you stop by Winterfell's armory

Guest Paragraph Courtesy of Soma:

You walk into the shop and find a soot-coated old man – Mikken, you recall – carefully hammering out the golden edge of a blank sword. Hanging on the walls of the shop are dozens of swords, shields, and other examples of a Winterfell crafstman's skill.

You ask to purchase a standard longsword and a finely crafted dagger. The northamn tells you he has things on hand but it will be rather expensive. You flash him your purse and he nods graciously, finally taking you for a genuine customer. As he goes to the wall to pull off some of his ready-made stock, you hear a jingle as someone enters the place of business behind you.

You turn round to see a young man with a lean build and dark brown hair. The grey of his eyes – so similar to that of Eddard's – informs you immediately that this . . . is Jon Snow.

As Mikken brings you your items, he spots the bastard of Winterfell and gives him a nod.

As you're testing your new weapons and holstering them – Mikken hands Jon Snow a finely-crafted thin blade, one whose name you are keenly aware of. That's Needle, Arya's water dancing blade and you're watching as Jon Snow picks up the gift he requisitioned for his beloved half-sister. Beloved cousin truly, but Jon Snow doesn't know that yet.

The son of Rhaegar Targaryen catches you staring at him and offers an awkward nod of recognition while he examines his own exquisite blade.

“You're Jon Snow, aren't you? Lord Stark's natural born son?”

He slowly lowers the blade and looks at you. “Yeah,” he affirms, his voice deep and gruff. He gestures to you with a minimal movement of his hands. “You're the Imp's personal singer? You're coming with us to the Wall?”

You nod your head. “Lord Tyrion and myself will be traveling together with you and your nuncle. I look forward to getting to know you before you take the black and join that venerable order of the Night's Watch.”

Jon makes a rueful laugh until he notices you don't seem to be joking. He stares at you oddly. “You're much more appreciative of the service we provide than your employer.”

You shrug. “Well, he's a Southerner. Much farther from the front lines. Hasn't seen the things we have.”

“You're a Northerner?” Jon asks incredulously, studying your blonde hair and green eyes.

“Born farther North than you,” you tell him, chiding him jokingly. That is actually the truth! Technically you were 'reborn' here in the North and Jon was born in a tower in Dorne. So, yep – that's not a lie!

“I . . . think I may be less enthusiastic about the journey. Here's hoping I'm wrong,” he finishes, gesturing with the small sword and a forced smile. He strides past you as he exits. You follow after him but end up heading in a different direction.

Unslinging the new lute you purchased in town – tuning it to the much sweeter sound it is capable of in your skilled hands – you find Tyrion by his wheelhouse. He informs you he's only bringing two guards with him and yourself. One retainer will direct the carriage and the other will patrol on horse beside him. You will also now be expected to ride next to the carriage rather than rest inside of it, just to prevent his guards from strangling you for being a lazy git.

You acquiesce to that stipulation and soon you find your small party of six – Benjen, Jon, Tyrion, yourself and the two guards leaving through the gates of Winterfell along with The King's royal procession.

Benjen sidles his steed over to your side and you realize you haven't spoken with him in quite awhile. He fixes you with a truly grateful stare, before speaking with a quiet, but honest intensity.

“Bran is as healthy as ever despite his tumble from that tower. Today he rides beside my brother to King's Landing.” Benjen points farther up and you see the auburn-haired boy riding next to his father under the open sky – too honorable and self-sufficient to rely on a carriage.

“He wouldn't be sitting atop that horse if it wasn't for you, greenseer.” This time – for the first time he's said it, 'greenseer' is a sincere title. “I . . . would have appreciated a more direct mention that he fell because two idiot commoners were fucking in the tower so I could have stopped it, but I suppose you can't see everything.” Benjen finishes his praise with a warm chuckle.

>>
>>415120
It's going to be alright Ben don't tell a soul. He knows how to keep his lips seal. And if Ben is killed like in the book, then he can't tell anyone.
This is more for being a better friend to him.
>>
>>415120
We go to with Tyrion to the wall, prove our loyalty to him let him think what he wants on that front, but we keep good graces with him. Us mentioning shit to Benjen won't do any thing major, we'll ask him to keep it secret he will, cause we saved his fookin nephew from a crippling. Not to mention he'll be in the north most of the time, and we KNOW what happens at the Tourny of the Hand, even if we don't, we ask around and catch up on any ripples we might have caused.

We get back from the wall, head to King's Landing, and start subtly wooing Cerci. If she picks up on it and Jamie ain't around we BAM go for it. 1/8.

Or we wait till Jamie is fully away to war and REALLY cement our position by gathering funds in the mean time whilst wooing Cerci.

We just plagiarize a fuck ton of shakespeare plays and youtube songs, $$$.

We will win this game. We will be on the Throne by the end of this.
>>
>>415142
I can get behind what velo is saying here but, is getting velo on the throne what we want?
>>
>>415151
You mean /qst/ Velo or Velo IN the quest?

Cause what I'd like to do is not reactionarily plan things, I want to use our knowledge in the book to plan WAAAY ahead. Gain money, power, traction, become a major player with enough of a claim to grab the Iron Throne and keep it.
>>
>>415151
Who doesn't want to be on the throne. We don't have to stay in Westero, we can always fuck off to the east. Or we go attack the summer island natives.
The choices are endless.
>>
>>415142
>>415151
>>415168

Most of this all sounds well and good.

My whole point is lets not fuck our advantage of knowing the future by doing little things that don't matter much.
>>
>>415178
Look Ben don't tell a soul. After the wall business we keep our mouth closed until the events happens to make lots of money on them.
>>
>>415183

I'm not so worried about Ben telling anyone.

I'm also not worried about Bran's legs other than Tyrion possibly now not being accused and never meeting Bronn, so he wont get to accompany us on the journey.

That isn't to say that Jamie and Cersie are somehow still involved and still send the assassin but since Bran hasn't said anything I don't really see that happening.

We may have to improvise getting Bronn in the story now or maybe OP will throw us a bone.

“Something . . . wrong happened, actually,” you slowly let the words crawl out your mouth as you ponder how to communicate what you're trying to say.

Benjen's eyes narrow as his face deflates. “What do you mean?”

“Those two commoners weren't supposed to be the ones up there when Bran fell. It was meant to be . . .” you trail off as you look around you. Tyrion and his guards as well as Jon are out of earshot. “It was meant to be Jaime and Cersei Lannister in that room.”

Benjens squints at you. “Doing what?”

You raise your eyebrows and watch his eyes go wide and his mouth drop. He whispers. “You can't be suggesting the Queen is horning her husband with her own brother.”

You shrug. Benjen exhales a particularly extended, visible breath in the chill morning air. You qualify your vision. “Bran catches them in the act and then they push him out of the tower to keep the incest secret.”

Benjen shakes his head vigorously, almost in denial - /almost/. “That is not what happened. I saw it with my own eyes. Bran was climbing, he peered inside the window. A man inside the room shouted – not the Kingslayer, mind you – and Bran lost his grip. He grabbed the ledge in his scrabble for purchase after being startled, the stone came loose on that decrepit, neglected old tower windowsill and I managed to catch him in a cart of hay. It was an accident. I even spied the commoner girl as she rushed in a panic after my nephew to the window. Got a full view of her bouncing tits.”

“Well, what I saw in my vision what was meant to happen,” you explain, listening to the story that contradicts what happens in the novels completely, racking your brain for what you must have done to change that course of events. “The day of the hunt is the only chance they get to enact a sexual liaison under King Robert's nose –”

“I believe you!” Benjen stops you with a raise of his hand. “I at least believe you saw it. But I'm telling you truthfully – if I saw Queen Cersei naked I would remember it until the day I died. It doesn't matter though. Bran's safe and . . . the Southroners will be hedonistic shits committing debauchery until the Wall melts. That is none of our business. We're traveling with the Queen's brother so no more talk of this, alright?”

“Alright,” you nod your head at Benjen's wise advice. Tyrion's an alright guy but you think rumor-mongering his sister is a brotherfucker may get you on his bad side.
>>
Benjen rides off back to your small party and you cast a glance towards the King's column of riders. Bran has his legs and no sign of injury save for a sprained ankle still tenderly wrapped on Maester Luwin's over-protective orders . . . but he's heading South with Eddard, right into the Lion's den – the pit of vipers that is King's Landing.

No matter. If things go how you think they will then Tyrion will not be sidetracked by accusations of an assassination from Catelyn Stark and you will make it back in time before Eddard is slain.

You prepare to dig your heels into your stot's flank, spurring the horse onward . . . when you catch sight of one of the people following in the wake of The King's departure. You only spot her because – despite walking in the opposite direction of your own group – she is staring directly at the back of your head. It's the peasant girl you remember Jaime Lannister dragging before Jory Cassel right after Bran's fall. The second your gazes meet, she whirls her head around and continues walking after the royal party.

You frown before calling out Benjen's name. He stops and look over his shoulder towards you as your stot gallops towards the Crow.

“Benjen, what happened to the people who got thrown in the dungeon for causing your nephew's fall?” you rapidly ask, hopefully before the peasant woman manages to blend back into the crowd, out of sight.

“Uhhhh, King Robert was demanding their heads be taken from their shoulders for almost causing his visit to be a blot upon our family's fortune, but Ned convinced him to relent. He blamed Bran for the fall, deemed the action more embarrassing than criminal, said they had been punished enough already and let them go free. They were grateful and relieved. Why do you ask?”

“I saw the girl involved in the altercation looking at me a moment ago.”

Benjen looks puzzled. “She see you before at any point?”

“I . . . don't believe so.”

Benjen shrugs. “Maybe she's interested.”

“She was /staring/ at me. Like she was spying. I have had girls give me the 'interested' look before and let me tell you that wasn't it.”

Benjen scoffs. “Well Bael the Bard himself, excuse me for guessing she wanted to give a handsome lad a tumble.”

You ignore Benjen calling you handsome just as hard as you're going to ignore that woman. You're heading the exact opposite direction of each other and thus have no need to concern yourself with the weird look she threw your way while you were unaware of her.

The two of you catch up quickly to Benjen's nephew and your employer Tyrion. Together your party heads off from Winterfell and onto the Kingsroad.

While traveling you make sure to serenade the whole crew with your musical stylings, keeping their spirits high and preventing the cold silence of the vast, seemingly empty North from descending upon your band of individuals.

In three days you meet up with Yoren – the recruiter of the Night's Watch. His face is a hardened crag of flesh, the features seemingly chiseled out of an iceberg with how resolute and unflinching his expression is. With him he brings two peasant boys – recruits to man the Wall. Despite him and Benjen sharing a Brotherhood they never chat or joke, merely speaking of practical matters and discussing their duties as members of the Nightswatch. You do sense some sort of joviality between them, however.

The Kingsroad, which is rather well-kept in the area surrounding Winterfell, dwindles to a barely visible dirt road tapering off towards the ever-encroaching mass that is the Wall separating the Seven Kingdoms from the untamed Northern lands of Always Winter.

Each day is colder than the next and you find yourself shivering even under the several layers of garments you dress yourself in constantly as you proceed forward.

You fear Tyrion may start to suspect your story as a Northerner. Benjen, Yoren and Jon Snow – three men black of hair with the features of hardened Northmen brave the frigid chill in less layers than you and unlike you their teeth haven't set to chattering. You're barely keeping it together.

The only saving grace is that Tyrion himself – as well as his southroner guards – are so concerned with how the freezing cold is incapacitating THEM that they don't have much energy to spare studying you.

Still, you're REALLY fucking cold right now.

It just gets more and more like the arctic the longer you go on. The grueling onslaught of constantly being uncomfortably close to freezing throws off your ability to play and sing. Your vocal chords are practically frozen in your throat. As such, you can't perform as often or as adept as usual, blunting the success of your attempts to practice your skills. This chill also has the unfortunate side effect of reducing your pay since Tyrion is not often listening to your music and when he does you aren't exactly at the top of your game. He throws you a gold dragon in pity, sympathy or apathy during the journey, you aren't sure which.

Either way you're still one gold dragon richer and much much fucking cold! Shit! Your brush with frostbite has made you paranoid and panicky when it comes to ignoring the damage the elements do to your very temperature sensitive body.

You contemplate a few options to preserve yourself and persevere. You could just try your best to tough it out by yourself. Hope your body acclimates to the cold and move on with all your digits and limbs attached.

Or you could seek refuge in Tyrion's carriage. Although you're pretty sure if you do that Tyrion will quickly deduce you lied to him about living North of the Wall. There's no way if you couldn't handle this weather that you could handle the extreme conditions farther North.

Neither choice sounds like there won't be some risk of major consequences - either physically or socially.

Or you could snuggle up with Benjen Stark.
