Welcome to Adventure Civ Medieval!

In this quest, you will help a medieval realm strive and grow as trouble arises and other nations work on their own agendas.

Last time, giants came crashing in, as well as the Sea Queen, and I don't mean the bowtie Queen (in the sea) in a campaign against the witch Queen (well technically they're both witches but...).


how to play:
1) choose a realm to play for. change your name to reflect your choice (ex: Bowtie Noble). Max 4 players per realm.
2)each turn, your realm has 2 actions. You can choose a cultural, technological, or immediate acion, plus one bonus action based on your realms' bonus action(if your realm has a bonus tech action, you can do any action one time per turn, plus a tech action).
3)discuss with your compatriots which actions you will take. Once you're done, reply to my recap anchor post with the recap of your actions.

turn 16 end!
A grand marriage happened between two great houses. The Marquis highly encouraged the Heirs to wed their youngest princess to his nephew. The court was shocked by the color of the newlyweds' bowties, dangerously close to the Queen Crimson!
While this marriage has no real power, since it is evident to everyone the Queen will live forever, it still gives the Marquis a lot more credit and standing in the management of the realm.

The rat population was ordained to teach their burrowing technique to bowtie architects. Their tunnels are remarkably complex and comfortable enough to live in for a long period of time. But they stink quite fast.

The preparations for the giants' attack kept going, with a new set of ballistae added, and a mechanism to load the heavy bolts onto the engines more efficiently.

Understanding their threat fell on deaf ears, the giants attacked!

It was a bloody battle. The first salvos of spears and bombs plinked off the giants armor without any damage, and it took them very little effort to reach the first wall and destroy it with might & magic!
But while the titans were busy with their first victims and the courageous garrisons stabbing at their feet, the ballistae managed to land close-range shots on them, some piercing through their formidable skin!
The dominators seemed unfazed by their wounds and kept rampaging the wall all along its length. All hope seemed lost.
Until a lucky shot to the heart downed one of the monsters! The beast bellowed in rage before hitting the ground, to not rise up again. The other titans, wounded and shocked, fell back, but not before launching their most devastating spells as a parting gift.

Against all expectations, the battle is won! However, the wall has a kilometers-wide gap in the center, and the army, though motivated, is in a terrible shape. It's unlikely another such attack could be repelled, let alone stopping the giants from crossing the border.

In all honesty though I'd send them some of the shamans that can harnass fire and the new spirit magic. Also some of the other magics might work against the titans. As long as we don't send them all it could really help them out!

The shamans sent spirit scouts around to learn about their surroundings. On their search, they found a curious traveler in the wilds, hovering around. He noticed the spirit.

"I didn't think there would still be people in this cursed place. Do your masters need help? I could maybe grant them a wish, though I haven't done so in ages."

Billy's offer will stand for one turn. After that, he'll leave.

Billy didn't specify what wishes he'll grant, but he isn't willing to do just anything for the sake of old acquaintances. Be careful what you wish for!
In the past, Billy demanded virgins for his wishes. This might be worth remembering.

The loyalists started to deploy their cavalries into enemy territory at night to raid farms and disrupt supply. After an initial success, the rebels quickly caught up with it and managed proper defenses that repelled the roaming raiders out of their lands.

The rebels tried a sneak on their own, to kidnap a mage and have him teach the secret of magic. But the spies failed terribly and got caught!
The rebels started digging trenches and tunnels around their settlements for long-term sieges. They are efficient but far from the rats' burrows.

Alright so coppers I have some potential plans of actions we could take.

1. Have the loli witches experiment with the dead dominater to hopefully find a weakness or unlock some top tier magic.

2. Rebuild the wall and the defenses.

3. Run off to the suns land with everyone.

4.LAND BATTLESHIPS, giant cars with 3 levels in them. The first on the bottom is the engine room to keep it moving. The second is the munitions storage and where there will be slits for crossbows to shoot out of. The third is the top where ballistas are mounted. Since its so heavy bumpy roads will not be a problem so long as the driver doesnt fuck up and put it on its side.

If we lose her, we lose part of who we are.

One of her magixs is Flesh golem.

The loyalists will probably have upped their defenses for their wizards. We've got a solid defense with our trenches. Our current bows don't work against the shields they gave out. So here's what I propose.

Let's send raiders into rat land to steal their gunpowder and weaponry. They'll fire slower while we can get more shots off with our bows. But with their weapons, we'll be able to penetrate the shields and armor of the loyalists.

Secondly, I want a backup plan if that goes wrong. I think our tech action should combine the wood we have with the copper. Instead of bows, we need precision weapons. A crossbow made with our wood as base and reinforced with copper would be just as good as gunpowder weapons. Training someone to use a crossbow will be easier too.

Thirdly, I think we'll be really close to getting our own turn. We need a good government. I want to form a 5 woman band made out of the best rebels with the Lady Protector as our leader. This culture action will mean we'll have great generals who can lead our army into the field.

However, i think to strengthen us , we should start up a matriarch government like you suggested.
I'm unsure if we'll get the raids will be successful so i would suggest instead we either teach our fighters better tactics against shield (aim for exposed parts like legs or) users in combination with increased gorilla warfare tactics( camouflage and trap) or increasing tunnels and traps, but i'll leave this up to you on whether we will do my suggestions instead or the fire arm acquisition, because guns they would be quite useful but they are not a sure thing. Though with black powder, we could produce bombs as well.

Whatever we do, I suggest we atleast start our goverment and secondlrey increase our military power..

I think its better to focus on supporting the queen in the sea by collecting all bones and flesh in the country and dumbing it into the water.

Experimentations were made on the giant's corpse. From its potent eldritch blood, the witching child drew immense power! Two new tiers of magic were reached:

Blood magic tier 4: Summon demon
drawing a specific pentacle on the ground with blood, the user can summon a bloodthirsty demon from another plane. A pact needs to be made with the demon, which will always favor the demon itself unless the mage is incredibly powerful. There's a wide range of demons, but the stronger they are, the more demanding they are.

blood magic tier 5: Mind Bending[/B]
the user can subtly change the thinking of one or many persons around them if they have skin contact with them at least once a day. It is not straight up mind control, but rather silent, deep persusasion. Mastering this spell protects you from its effects.

The Witches were ready to ambush the invaders, but unfortunately they decided to accelerate the process. They went through the kilometers-wide gap in the wall unbothered, and immediately started rampaging the nearest settlements and cities.

The army is useless and disorganized at the walls while the Sun Shamans, who came to help aboard their flying balls and their shining ones, try to harass the monsters away from the civilians. The largest town of the west lordships has been razed.

At the engineers', the Sea Queen's husband has been elected master of the council. You also need to understand the witching child is our most powerful mage and extremely old. Her subordinates have also been practicing for years. They are not weak.

If we built ballistas nothing would happen save for the army being wiped out because the wall was gone and a majority of its weaponry.

I say our magic is good, its just not good in your eyes because you cant immediately use it in battle, but instead buffs like felfire, or controls like mind mending.

turn 18 end!
The copper warlords held an emergency meeting during which they concluded they could not hold their ground against the giants anymore. A great migration to the sun lands was started, and all that could be saved were evacuated by boat.

Meanwhile the engineers were dead set on standing their ground. Their own line of defense, while puny compared to the previous one, is now supported by the new magical zeppelins, flying battle barges raining spears and bombs from great heights.

Wary of the Sea Queen's motives, the Witching Child send two of her sharpest students as her "bodyguards", to mind bend her towards righteous goals.
The Sea Queen has since then shown more care towards her family and her new home's culture. The two bodyguards never leave her side, convinced she needs to be watched constantly.

The Dominators chased the evacuees but were led away from the masses by the sacrifice of sun people, engineer drive-by shooters and brave zeppelin commanders. Spotters also report strange sightings of mermen massing on the abandoned shores, preparing for war. Frightening monsters were leading their armies.

the Warlords and Maiden players now play as Sun factions. Engineers control the fate of the Copper nation.

After helping the copper people flee their homelands, they have been given lands where they could establish themselves. Of course, they don't really try to integrate in the society right now and are alien to the local culture. There hasn't been much clash yet, though, except with the small bowtie population.

The sun shamans, still fighting a desperate fight in the copper lands, decided to try possessing a giant by focusing their efforts. The giant laughed.

The sun shamans weren't expecting the mind attack in their entranced state, and their minds exploded! Sun shamans are now a lot more cautious around the titans.

Birds were sent all around the continent to warn everyone about the giants. The rats thanked the shamans for the information and sent a homemade traditional lunchbox as thanks.

Though they don't quite have the technology for trebuchets, elves designed catapults to be used against the rebel fortifications. With these, they went for a big push on their positions!

Unfortunately for the rebels, the Protector ordered a large part of the garrisons out to try and take important cities by sabotage and infiltration. But no matter how talented, the spies were still women, and elves have grown wary of all female citizens. They were captured and questioned. When the troops started sapping the walls, the enemy garrison fell the earth on their faces and launched a surprise skirmish!
Though the losses were minimal, it was obvious the attackers' plan was dismayed. The report of enemy armies marching on their positions came, and they retreated to try to save the nearest cities.

The loyalists maintained siege on the largest settlements for months. The Protector's army could relieve a city of its besiegers for a short time, only to get trapped within when enemy reinforcements came. All besieged cities surrendered or were conquered but hers, where people are starting to starve.
The eastmosts lands are still under rebel control in theory, but their military power is negligible.

the rebels are fighting a lost war. Only a miracle or an intervention from the outside could tip the scales.

It's really understandable, but we could have easily been dealt with another way. If all The Nobles would have just said they don't want the war to continue then we would have been in a good position to just end the warr and go ahead and start helping The Suns fight The Giants whenever they swung on down to attack them.

This whole kidnapping thing leaves The Rat's loose end untied and completely nullifies any work we put in to securing the state or building a wall in joint with The Suns all those turns ago, since it's not even protecting us in one of the only times it would have been useful. It took a mandetory three turns to build, you would think it could do anything besides look pretty. We never even used it in The Underwater war, we just had The Queen charge us into the sea and made us stop attacking Rats so we could sit and literally just watch the sea.

Opee I can understand all this hard pressing to get a good wrapping up, but this is frustrating to deal with when we could have just won the war five turns ago instead of having to get three different NPCs try to divert us away from what we all very obviously wanted to do.

I mean look at The Trees, they get to fight their war and finish their stuff without being guided to The Giants by hostages and abrupt Ruler Decisions.

Well it's off putting when the only thing The Queen did for those turns was take one very bad beach trip and hang out with little kids, Opee.

How are we supposed to know that The Queen is something that's going to be a major threat to fun itself when she's always been someone we supported and liked since the tribal era, only for her to abduct our armies for no reason.

I'm pissed because those armies sat there, and twiddled their thumbs at The Wall, and even when The Queen lost, The Witch didn't even march up to fight u then either. With things like this there seems little choice but to go with the direction we're being pushed at

Somthing along the lines of:
Send forces to sunlands to offer an allience to help fight in return for access to the copper lands ones everything is saver.
In the progress we could also mention moving all troups from the ratlands, effectivly abondenning it since i doubt theres little we can do with it. This way atleast we can get the queen back and have her be relevant to us for a first.

For tech idk improve the quality of our troops maybe, or something defencive to help the suns.

as a free diplomatic action we could try informing the rats we left their lands and ask them to uphold their end of the deal, and maybe sending something nice, like a giftbasket with some wine or something to show we're sincere

Yeah, we should mobilize the troops and send them into Sun Territory. The only issue though is that The princess is actually in Engineer Territory, so we'll need to march all the way there to actually get her.

In the mean time we don't have an embassy with The Rats, all we can hope to do with telling them the war is over is to hope Old Rat comes back and asks us about it, unless we want to spend a whole turn wasting a diplomatic actions answering them.

It is a stort-of-event though, so maybe answering will be free? I don't know.

As for tech, since we'll be fighting giants, and possibly Engineers, we should research cannon mortars. Something that will absolutely fuck up fortifications and the skulls of giants.

turn 19 end!

Gunpowder was researched and discovered in record time thanks to the little trade with the bowties that filtered through. Huge bombards were built atop the walls, ready for the giants' arrival.

the bowtie princess was sent to the Sea Queen's court, where she'll learn how to be a good copper. She cries a lot and seems magically attuned enough to resist some of the mind bending, but it's only a matter of time until she becomes a proper copper.

The giants made their push on the walls! they had formidable magics with them this time, thundering skies and earth to batter the engineers' defenses.

A great host of merpeople attacked the giants on the side, led by huge demons and enchanted fishpeople. Unfortunately, it seems they were expected, as their assault was driven back with much force and devastating spells.

The giants eventually broke inside where their spells had left openings and started their gruesome work. Though her retainers died in the battle, the Sea Queen herself was not seen once during the fight, nor her prince husband.

When morning came, what was left of the engineer council knelt before the giants. The Sun shamans were sent back to their homeland, where the giants are now headed.

thus ends the copper lands as a playable faction.

The elves attempted to make a poison mist to threaten the rebels with. However, their knowledge of poisons are based on venoms and plant toxins, and not rocks, as poison gasses require. They couldn't do what they intended but poisoned the water supply of the besieged rebels, weakening their forces.

One day, the sea calmed long enough for an expedition of copper maidens to disembark and attack the besiegers! they were helped by camouflaged rebels and took the troops by surprise.

However, they could not take the trees by surprise! created to protect the land they grew on, they immediately riposted against the unaware copper maidens, who had to take care of this first threat while the loyalists got time to put order in their ranks.

Despite the attackers' boldness, flaming weapons and tentacly wizards, they were driven back ashore by the sheer numbers of the loyalist army!

Ensued a very short siege until the Protector surrendered a couple of days later. She was publicly executed, and women all around the forests was taught that day that a quiet life is better than to try something dumb and unethical and get yourself killed.

the rebellion has been vanquished.
