(Note: The topic of this quest was inspired
Hello, I'm Shou, the QM of Atroke Quest, and I blew the big one this time. Basically, I was supposed to have this out by Sunday, but my internet failed, and by the time I could start frantically researching reptile facts it was already thursday. Hopefully this quest will make it up to you.

It's been four days since the devils left your village empty.
They came in the night, brandishing blades and axes and screaming in hellish tongues. They took anything they could find, and left your village a wasteland.

You huddle in the now-empty granary. It provides protection from the freezing rain that falls outside, and it's the farthest from any of the bodies. Another bundle of clothes goes onto the dying fire.

What now?

Shit.
By this thread. >3712720)
>>
>>394819
Are these literal devils or metaphorical?
>>
>>394871
Honestly, you aren't quite sure. All you remember is your father hiding you under the floorboards, and the red glow of torches rising over the hills near your village.
>>
>>394881
Inventory description please.
>>
>>394881
Well..

I'm afraid I can't really give you an intelligent advice.

I can't say go in the direction the raiders came from, because then might have left the way they came.

I can't so go away from the direction the raiders came, because you might run into them where they had kept going.

I can't say stay, because no help might be coming.

With as little information as you have available, you might as well roll a die to determine your next action.
>>
>>394890
You have
-Slightly tattered clothing (Poor)
-Rock
>>
>>394891
You aren't going to make enough distance to get anywhere before night falls, seeing as you are an 11-year-old child. Although it's bad, staying in the town is your only option.

Suddenly, you hear the snap of twigs underfoot.
>>
>>394906
Just stay still. Play dead even, like we've been frozen to death.
>>
>>394914
You freeze, pressing yourself against the outer wall of the granary and attempting your best corpse impression. The granary door opens above your head.
>>
>>394920
Well? Continue please, unless some other anon has a better idea.
>>
>>394947
I'm pretty sure we're in a non-interactive cutscene.
>>
>>394951
Don't know why it's taking so long tho. Maybe op is writing lots.
>>
>>394956
We can only hope. :)

I'd honestly have a nice thick post and some real decisions, rather than sentence long posts.
>>
>>394947
A reptillian head looks through the door, searching the granary until it stops on you. A claw reaches down and touches the bottom of your wrist. The thing speaks in a guttural, hissing language.
sSen nak! sSen nak taan!
It begins to speak in a tongue you understand, albeit haltingly.

"Does....Warm-blood-" The thing pauses for a moment. "See Seta's words?"
>>
>>394958
I posted something, but I reloaded the page and can't see it. Can you?
>>
>>394962
Sometimes it takes 15-20 seconds. I see it now.

>>394959
"Y..yes?"
>>
>>394959
Yes I see Seta's words
I guess that means we understand it.
>>
>>394962
Well I see the post directly above yours. Additionally continue listening in, we are in no position to do anything right now.
>>
>>394970
"Where.... Brood? Others like Warm-Blood?"
Have to drop out for 20 mins, sometimes real life is a bitch.
>>
>>394982
"All dead, or gone."
>>
>>394982
It's cool op, so we are human?
>>
>>394992
Also supporting.
>>
>>394992
+1
>>
>>394992
The creature pauses for a moment.
"All alone?"
>>
>>395068
"You're here. That's all."
>>
>>395068
'Cold. Hungry. But now that your here, I think I'll manage.'
>>
>>394998
You haven't met many people outside the village, but that's what everyone calls themselves.
>>
>>395073
"Not alone. Ret here also."
>>
>>395088
'Can I come with you? ... I might need to grab some things first.'
>>
>>395094
"Seta will take Warm-Blood to Capital. Two days walk."
>>
>>395098
'Mmm. Just... Give me a moment. Please.'

And with that, pound out and rub the stiffness in our limbs. Stand up and take a peek outside.
>>
>>395105
"Seta and Rel will wait for Warm-Blood."
Seta moves away from the window, and you pull yourself over the door, and take a look at your village. It looks beaten, and tattered. It would help if you knew what you were looking for, exactly.
>>
>>395109
Just a stick, a sturdy one to support our weight, and a reminder of home, a trinket from memories that will serve as a link to roots in years to come. An heirloom if we have one.

Beyond that, food and clothes, extra packing space to store miscellaneous items like a tinder box and spare wood.

I'd imagine this would take some time.

Any anons want to add or argue?
>>
>>395120
It's been a few minutes, so I assume not.

A stick is easy enough. You pry one off a fallen tree not a hundred paces of the granary. The next thing, some sort of reminder of home, is harder. You push your way through the rubble of your broken house. It takes some time before you find it, but you manage to find an old brass ring, given to you by your father when you turned ten.

It is at this point you find your father.
He's lying, pinned under some rubble, and quite dead. A thin trickle of blood runs from the corner of his mouth.

You think you should feel something, but all that comes to you is a quiet resignation.

When you clamber out of the building, Seta notices something is wrong.

"Is Warm-Blood well?"
>>
>>395148
'Nothing. It's all right'

Now isn't the time for standing out in the elements, vulnerable to everything. Close his eyes and mouth, we will burn him and any other bodies we find last thing we do before leaving.

Mourning will come after no doubt, there is only so much a kid can handle in the face of consistent peril.
>>
>>395168
"Warm-Blood terrible liar."
Seta says nothing else.

The devils took the food from the village, but you've been using clothes as firestarter for four days and still haven't run out. By tying the arms and head of a shirt, you manufacture a crude backpack.

You begin to walk towards Seta, but you trip and fall to the ground. Seta presses some sort of jerky into your hand, and you realize you haven't eaten anything in four days.

"Is Warm-Blood ready?"
>>
>>395191
'One more thing, I'm sorry'
promptly feast on the jerky, and begin preparations for burning father.
>>
>>395199
Setting bods on fire is aloooot of hard work. Skin does not catch fire easily, unless it's soaked or wrapped in something highly flammable or thick, heavy material. All things we would need more. Let's move and maybe keep a look out for a weapon or defensive item. These are harsh elements that limited time does not let us dwell under without catching weakness.
>>
>>395199
You scarf down the jerky. It's salty as hell, but it's nourishing. Your house was mostly wood, so it will burn relatively easy.

You wait untill sunset. You've wrapped a support with a pant leg, and on your command, Seta lights it with a flint and steel.

You heft the torch, and it forms a graceful arc. It lands on one of the walls of the house, and within minutes, the rubble is on fire.

That was the day you became [s]an alchemist[/s].

One of the creatures, Ret, turns and walks into the forest. Seta does the same a few seconds later.
You watch the house burn for a while, then follow them.
>>
>>395214
Well shit I guess your right, then again he is pinned under rubble. Depending on if op says its above 50 percent wood then we will take our time to light it, maybe put on some dry leaves.

Other wise yeah I guess I'll support this though technically we have two companions and the march is only two days so it's not necessary
>>
>>395226
Well shit should have updated before posting. We gonna get foresting shenanigans or time Skip?
>>
>>395231
Damnit, now I have Bratja on loop in my head. Well, if I have to suffer, than so do you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOWLafeukGs
CUT TO FORESTING SHENANNIGANS
The fire is a dim glow in the distance. You've been silently walking for about a kilometer now. Finally, Seta speaks.
"What is true name? Cannot always call Warm-Blood Warm-Blood."
>>
>>395241
Well shit this is kind of important, not really but hell its something,

Suggestions?
>>
>>395241
Are we a girl or a boy?

Ilets call ourselves Nako
>>
>>395257
Well the quest is called "Reptile Queen Quest", so you figure it out, lol.
>>
>>395257
I like it and second this.
>>
>>395244
The village Warm-Blood is in is cold and rainy, so I was thinking English or Welsh names.
>>
>>395257
We are a girl. This is called reptile queen quest after all.

I also found a nice one. How about 'Tsura' or 'Zora'. They both mean the same thing, 'dawn' really.
>>
>>395268
Ok the how about Aelwen
>>
>>395281
Alright, so it's Nako, Aelwen, Tsura, or Zora.
>>
>>395281
Zora is Slavic while tsura is Romani.
>>
>>395288
It means "fair browed" In welsh
>>
>>395265
I assumed there was a literal reptilian queen to be found. Nako sounds good, and sounds like taco, which is also swell. But something powerful sounds fitting, for our destiny. Queen... Aphinia? Marsai? Lucretsia?
>>
>>395294
Well, she was born into a poor village, so that might seem odd.
>>
>>395294
Right so Zara doesn't fit, personally even though aelwen is nice it's just a tad weak. Mako is a classical fantasy badass name. All those fancy names are a bit off but they can work maybe.

More suggestions?
>>
>>395294
How about Cienwen it means "lovely and fair"
>>
>>395297
Aelwen sounds fine.
>>
>>395302
This is a good mix between sounding nice, but a big more stronger. I would choose this.
>>
I've put in the suggestions Mako Aelwen Cienwen

How about Deryn

Most of these are welsh names
>>
>>395301
Norse, possibly? Strange for them to be the ones raided this time, but also cold and wet. I personally like Zora, but it's your quest.
>>
>>395313
Why not roll to stay with Zora or pick one from suggestions?
>>
>>395313
Astrid is Norse it means Devine beauty
>>
Rolled 10 (1d20)

>>395319
Right. Evens it's Zora, odd it's Cienwen.
>>
>>395313
Meh fuck it even if it is a bit off its badass so let's roll with it. I'm shura you can come up with some reasonable backstory to a foreign name like zora.
>>
>>395313
IVE.FOUND THE NAME

Eerika it means Ruling FOREVOR
>>
>>395323
Zora it is then.
>>
>>395325
Fuck yes. Culturally relevant and amazing. Do it op.
>>
>>395331
Fuck the dice roll. I QM fiat that.
>>
Do we wanna do a final vote to make shure everybody is on the same page?
>>
>>395336
Sure, why not.
Erika, Zora, or Cienwen?
Or another name entirely.
>>
>>395339
Voting for Eerika, let's get back to forest shenanigans people.
>>
>>395350
This
>>
>>395350
Man I'm so happy I found the name Eerika

QUEEN EERIKA LORD OF THE COLD BLOODED ONES
>>
>>395350
It seems like lknvJWSz was also highly in favor of Erika, so let's return to forest shenanigans, shall we?

"Erika? Is nice name."
Seta points to a mountain in the distance. "Under mountain is Capital. Is not far."
>>
>>395360
Ret speaks in the same slithering guttural language Seta had earlier. "tSet Vas kata. Los taan zaan."
Seta turns to you. "Ret says we should set up camp soon. It's getting dark."
>>
>>395360
'Is it nice there? For reptiles I mean... Under a mountain seems strange.'
>>
>>395369
"Hot. Safe. Home there. Seta supposes never thought about that."
>>
>>395374
'Hmm'
with that set up camp for a quiet night of brooding, twiddling with the ring and not much sleep.
>>
Rolled 2 (1d20)

>>395374 rolling for luck
Cut down a tree for so,e supplies. Wander the forest a bit see if we can find any legacy weapons
>>
>>395382
You don't get much sleep that night. You walk for two more. Seta speaks of home, and Ret doesn't speak much at all. The two were apparently scouts working for the ruler of the capital, someone Seta calls "The Sovereign."
>>
>>395403
Supplies? Why would you need any of those? Seta and Ret have enough for the journey to the Capitol, and you aren't entirely sure what a "legacy weapon" is, nor how you might obtain one.
>>
>>395404
Ask them why the ruler is called that
>>
>>395411
"Well, not always a king, not always a queen, and no one with a good mind says Capital an empire. Sovereign simply only term left."
>>
>>395410
I thought we would need firewood/ fruit for the journey, but I forgot to include our companions.

A legacy weapons is a weapon that has abilities or importance. Arms would have the characters find the or gain them through luck and/or skill.

Never mind continue
>>
Rolled 9 (1d20)

>>395404
Ask about who the sovereign might be, is he nice?
Also rolling for trying to understand the ways of the woods, why the birds fly the direction they fly in, things like that
>>
>>395422
Inquire what happened to the last kings and queens
>>
>>395427
"Nothing happened to kings and queens. Simply one ruler. Sometimes ruled by male, sometimes by female. Easier to have one word for both of them.
>>
>>395426
"Nice? Suppose Sovereign is kind. Is old, though. Mind growing... soft. Will be replaced, soon.
>>
>>395435
'...odd.'
>>
>>39543 Why is capitol no longer a kingdom? What is it the capital over?
>>
>>395446
"To you, maybe. To us, simply way things are."
>>
>>395447
"Many years ago, great lizardfolk empire. No longer. Tore down by raiders and invading armies. Builders hollowed out mountain, filled with magics. Now, all that is left.
>>
>>395458
Right so approximation on when we will be at the mountain?
>>
>>395462
"Another day's walk."
>>
>>395463
Oh I know, lets spend time trying to make a simple effigy out of twigs, twine and berry juice to paint it. To take our mind off of things and have some stupid girl like fun.

Should I roll for success?
>>
>>395472
Sure, why not.
>>
Rolled 12 (1d20)

>>395474
Rolling

Also to clarify for authenticity and autism sake. The twine mentioned can be very easily made be stripping bark off of certain saplings that have similar properties to cotton, though not as fine or comfortable to wear.
>>
>>395483
This is pretty good! You're going to call him Dain.
A few hours later, Dain dies a horrible death by falling into a rushing river.
You feel nothing.
>>
>>395493
Fuck that's depressing just as depressing as our father dying actually.

Now is the time to cry by the river side, a lot. Both in mourning and frustration.
>>
>>395498
Why would you cry? Dain was a traitor, and a threat to your rule. In fact, your master of assasins orchestrated the death yourself.
But...
You feel you should stop at the river regardless.
>>
>>395503
>fucking kek
Imma turn it over to some other anon, I can be the one making all the progression shots man.
>>
>>395509
Alrighty.
>>
>>395510
What now, Anons?
>>
>>395513
Oh for fucks sake looks like I'm going to have to force you guys to get involved. Lack of creativity is bad mkay.

Look down into the river, take a drink. And look at the reflection.

What do we look like?

There you go, it's not that hard!
>>
>>395531
The water is cool and refreshing. Your face and short brown hair are completely covered in grime, but you wash them off.

You are an eleven-year-old girl of average height, with short brown hair and green eyes.
>>
>>395539
Shit, forgot to log in.
>>
Rolled 4 (1d20)

>>395543
The id is the same your fine if you forget the trip.

Get back to the others. I'll roll for... Interest.
>>
>>395554
You failed your Interest roll. This course of action no longer interests you, and you move on.

You continue walking. You walk through vines and bushes, stones and brooks, when eventually you see a massive stone gate carved into the side of the mountain.
>>
>>395561
Oh shit, wait for the reptilians to do something.
>>
>>395561
"Welcome to Capitol," says Seta.
>>
>>395567
A few carriages bustle pass on the cobbled road springing from the gate, you can see a few statues on the side of the gate. Two massive lizardfolk, holding pikes, and then two shorter ones, puzzling over a board game. A warm breeze blows from the gate, contrary to the cool night.
>>
>>395572
Walk in. With the lizards of course.
>>
>>395574
You walk into the cavernous hall. The walls seem to glow with their own dim red light. As your eyes adjust, you realize that almost all of the walls have doors and windows carved into them.
"Welcome to the Final Quarter," says Seta.
>>
>>395576
'Well, it's different than my home.

So where to now?'
>>
>>395580
Seta will take Erika to embassy. Other warm-bloods there." You walk with seta through the massive, cavernous halls, bustling with a mix of mostly lizard people, but you spot a few humans and even one or two Yol as well. Finally, Seta stops at a huge pillar. A small wooden door leads inside.
>>
Rolled 1 (1d20)

>>395584
Do we see any other suspicious or otherwise interesting characters?

Also sorry if I'm posting a bit slow, rereading berserk after watching that new... Adaptation? Catastrophe? You know what I mean.
>>
>>395587
....no.
Haven't watched it myself, but I've heard it's awful. Also, I prefer Castastradaptation.
Although that is a bit of a spelling catastrophe in and of itself.
>>
>>395590
Well then enter the embassy... And suddenly feel aware of the fact that personal hygiene is, very much so, less than adequate.

Yeah, needless to say it's a good 80% horse shit 15% meh and 5% anything worth actual salt.
>>
Cozy quest boys, good morning from Europe

>>395584
Go through the door!
>>
>>395592
You do smell like you've spent 4 days in a bloodsoaked granary and then spend the next 2 days walking through a forest with two lizard people, eating nothing but jerky.

At least your face is clean, though.

>>395594
Good evening from the land of bald eagle apple pies.
>>
Rolled 9 (1d20)

>>395594
Finally someone who has the stomach to comment.

I think we should wait for the reptiles to do some stuff. Important grown up stuff.

Also rolling for attention retention from bureaucracy.
>>
>>395594
>Go through the door.

Seta steps through the door, and you see a tall, black haired man at the desk in the front. He looks at you quizically, and then he and Seta begin a hissing conversation.

At some point someone takes your hand and takes you into another room with a small cot in it. It's the first actual bed you've had in days.

You're crying. You don't know why.
>>
>>395602
>Did this nigger just rape us
>>
>>395606
No, they just took you into a small bed and left. You can hear conversation outside your room though. Not that you can understand it.
>>
>>395602
So it's a human who speaks the lizard tongue? He probably knows more than most about these creatures and their culture. I say we make him our Jorah Mormont
>>
>>395611
Meh that's for the future anyway, for now cry and sleep. Cry for a past so familiar and gone in a flash of terror, and a new life forced into reconciliation.
>>
>>395615
I guess I was getting ahead of myself. Crying sounds good for now
>>
>>395615
You cry for a while. You cry for your village, and your father, and everything you've lost. And then, you sleep.
>>
>>395621
Do we dream?
>>
>>395617
Nah, it's all good, you have a point though.

>now let's wake the fuck up
And smell the... Oh god the fuck is that smell.

But first this definitely.

Which isn't well.

>What the fuck is that smell?
Like damp stone, salt and.... bread?
>>
>>395633
Eh.

>>395631
So what happens now?
>>
>>395636
Ok so we are used to our own smell then? Time to change that. But first binge eating time.

>>395651
>>395653
You just want poor Erika naked don't you?

So they brought food to us? Why do they like us so much? Maybe the book has some answers.

We have shit hair, presumably lots of scratches. Fungus infections, blood stained skin. Yeah we needed a bath
>>
>>395656
Maybe go back to the book that was left by the weird vanishing person.
>>
>>395658
You skim through the book. It's a description of the cultural practices of the lizardfolk and the society inside the Captial. Apparently, when the current Sovereign dies, they elect a new one by playing a round-robin tournament of Ganaset, the Game of Kings. Nothing about why these people are so nice to you, though.
>>
>>395661
. . . We're also a child. When's the last time a child gave a damn? If anything he lizards will take care of that.
>>
>>395665
What's Ganaset?
>>
>>395665
Well, any more info than that?
>>
>>395662
...vanish? As you recall, an embassy-person took you into a bedroom, and then you cried yourself to sleep. Although, considering you are an eleven-year old on the brink of starvation, you may have halucinated that.

>>395667
It's a simplistic wargame that they belive requires the same qualities to win a game as it does to lead a country.

>>
>>395673
You walk around the many tiers of the embassy untill you encounter an old human man reading in a small library off to the side.

He looks up from his book.
"Ah. You must be miss Erika."
>>
>>395676
There seem to be a significant portion of humans around. And the lizards you've met haven't seemed like the skewering types. Best to stay wary, though.

You aren't quite sure what either of those words mean, and you aren't sure why you keep thinking them. You make a mental note to have someone make sure you didn't injure your head.

The man comes back, carrying a plate laded with fluffy round cakes and two mugs, and notices you sitting at his desk.
>>
>>395714
Look at the table "is this a game.?

Look up "ah-FOOD!"
>>
>>395722
"It is indeed. Eat, and then I'll teach you the most important thing you'll need to know in Capital."
>>
>>395725
Ok, let's comply and listen to the geezer while we fill this girls stomach. No /d/
>>
>>395725
Please make the chess playing a cutscene
>>
>>395728
90% of the food is now crumbs scattered around the floor, but you've eaten enough to feel human again. You hop onto one of the chairs, and the man pulls out a case. Opening it up, he reveals dozens of intricately detailed figures of infantry, elephants, siege engines and the like. He begins laying them out on the board.

"This is Ganaset, the game of kings."
>>
>>395733
I'm in agreement. How many years do you thing our future queen will be learning?
>>
>>395734
"So how do you play?"

And thus, her journey began. . . (Dramatic music set to scenes of playing the board game.)
>>
>>395733
Here you go!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GP9bhfi-SyY
Don't worry. There will be an actual cutscene.
>>
>>395734
"What about queens?"
>>
>>395748
"And queens. Technically Sovereigns as well. Honestly, this whole thing was a misnomer from the start."
>>
>>395749
Lol
>>
>>395751
"So are we going to sit around and criticize the naming conventions of ancient lizard magi all day, or are we going to play some Ganaset?"
>>
>>395752
"Alright. So how do you set up?"

We're not actually going to play chess are we XD?
>>
>>395756
He then explains the rules of Ganaset, which are functionally identical to chess, so I'm not going to explain them here.
Hopefully I can get enough support that this QST will survive the chess sequence, lol.
>>
>>395764
You are a commander of a vast and powerful army, clad in shimmering armor of metal the color of marble. Your opponent commands a slavering legion of fiends drawn from the darkest reaches of the Nine Hells. The two armies stand at attention, waiting for conflict. What do you do?
>>
>>395764
Well, good luck, I'm off for now.
>>
>>395772
Goodbye. Hopefully, I see you in thread 2.
>>
>>395771
You tentatively move a few infantry forward. The demonic horde seems to do nothing but shuffle around. A firey knight peels from the army and begins charging at you. The infantry forms a line to try and stop you, but the knight slices through them easily. You move your colossus to try and stop it, but suddenly you find yourself in the path of a war elephant.

"Good game," says the man.
>>
>>395783
"You're good at this..."
>>
>>395785
"Well, it is your first time playing. If you want, we can play every week untill you beat me."
>>
>>395788
"What happens when I beat you? Do I become queen?"
>>
>>395794
"Ha! No, I'm just a fan of Ganaset. There's a massive bracketed tournament to determine who gets the right to challenge the Sovereign. Once you beat him, though, then we can talk."

"I don't think I've introduced myself. My name is Levon."

Alright everyone, it is dangerously close to 1 am and I can feel my writing skill degrading by the second. I fully intend to continue this series, and will do so once I have slept. Goodnight, everybody.
>>
>>395804
Right, op I'm back from my slumber and ready to participate in a great quest. Whenever your ready baby.
>>
>>396194
Sorry that took so long, but I'm ready to start updating again.
>>
>>396984
Its cool. Take your time.

If we could get some people willing to chime in for the slog that would be great.
>>
>>397205
Alright. That last prompt is still open, though.
>>
>>395798
Sorry, I've been fought up on some stuff.

'The name is Erika kind sir, do you have any recommendations on what I'm to do? I'm... A bit lost, even now.'
>>
>>397704
"I suppose it would be a good idea to meet some of the others at the embassy."
>>
>>397939
'Well anything else? What about fun things? This game is pretty fun but I don't think I could play it forever, I'd get bored.'
>>
>>398110
"I'm afraid we don't have many things a girl such as yourself would consider fun. Your arrival was a little unexpected to say the least. What do you consider fun?"
>>
>>398503
'Well when I was younger I would go by the stream, where the soil was soft and the air smelled nice. I would draw pictures and silly murals from moments in my dreams. I would skid rocks with friends, and run along logs and climb things when I felt adventurous. But otherwise it was dreadfully dull, my clothes and shoes were always dirty. My parents hated that... Weaving wasn't that bad, but I wouldn't have minded sparring with the boys and their petty games of war. If only they weren't so stupid, and rough, and hated girls.'
>>
>>398577
"Hmm... there aren't many streams down here, I'm afraid. Although, I may have some paints somewhere around here..."
He opens a cabinet on one side of the room and begins rummaging through it.
>>
>>398627
'So why is it so hot in this place, and wet? Is there like, a water volcano or something? There's a word for it I don't remember.'
>>
>>398688
"Well, when this place was first carved from the mountain, the builders wove a massive enchantment that caused the stone of this mountain to radiate heat and light. That way, it's never cold or truly dark here. The heat also evaporates some of the water underground. Makes storing my books hell."
>>
>>398731
'Wow so magic is real... And not like the performer stuff, like the really really strong kind from stories. Do you think I can learn how to do that? Making fire and little figures of clay without getting any in my nails?'
>>
>>398760
"Maybe. Not everyone can, though. It requires a certain mindset that is pretty rare among Folk."
>>
>>398779
'I hope I can at least try... Never had much of a chance to do anything spectacular, well I lie I have... But that's in the past now, I guess. So when can I meet my friends? I want to thank them extra for all their hard work.'
>>
>>398809
He waves his hand.
"They're here and there, around the embassy. Not many of em your age, though."
>>
>>398824
'No no the ones who brought me here! The nice ones that fed me.'
>>
>>398839
"Oh, you mean Seta and Ret? I'm afraid they've left to report to the Sovereign."
>>
>>398848
'Any idea on when they will be back?'
>>
>>398857
"I'm afraid they don't work here. We owed Seta a favor, and he used that favor for us to take care of you."
>>
>>398882
Well now is a good time to have a discussion. With other anons. And not just me carrying the entire fucking quest. So what direction do we want to take this in? What is the immediate goal? To repay our savior a with a gift? To power level this shit? To do stupid girl things and hobbies? Nigger I need some input because otherwise there is no point to doing this shit.
>>
>>398920
Honestly, I'm just waiting for you to meet some other characters so I can do the time skip.
>>
>>398929
I'm sorry op, but I'm practically doing half of the work man, fuck that shit this is supposed to be multiple pc's involved, since the Europeans like this quest apparently just wait for them. I need some r&r.
>>
>>398965
It's fine. I do wish we had some other people, though
>>
>>394825
Wow, someone actually did my suggestion. Looks great so far, Shou.
>>3712720
>>
>>399644
Thanks mang
>>
>>398920
Repay our savior and rule them.
>>
>>400151
Alright we have two people I'm back to max motivation.

'Well... Ok. Can I go now? I wanna see what I can see, I'm tired of being afraid.'
>>
>>400180
"Of course! Don't let me hold you back."
>>
>>400473
'Thank you for all the help mister! I appreciate it.'

Hug the fucker then gtfo. Also check inventory.
>>
>>400511
Nice dubs and I agree.
>>
>>400511
You leave the small library and step out into the library proper. You currently posess
1 Walking Stick
1 Bag (Cloth)
1 Brass Ring
Favian, your Master of Assasins
>>
>>400527
Noice, I assume we still have relatively shit clothes?

I vote for just going outside, this place is kind of intimidating with all these books and I imagine we can't read very well anyways.
>>
>>400527
Let's leave for now. We can learn how to read and write later.
>>
>>400545
We already know how to read presumably because we read that one book about lizard society or at least part of it, but we are 12 and peasant like so we don't have much skill in that I don't think.
>>
>>400574
Then writing comes next after we gain more support for us.
>>
>>400545
L-leave? Do you mean go outside the embassy? Sure, the library is boring, but there are other rooms. Besides, the Capital is a big place, and you aren't sure you could find your way back if you left.
>>
>>400598
Oh shit... Well you know what fuck it, we know that these lizards don't speak our language, but whatever. Let's just look at the embassy from the outside and completely soak in what it looks like and bounce.
>>
>>400598
Well, when you put it that way. I guess the Embassy is the way to go.
>>
>>400618
*Derp* I forgot we're in it already. Let's look around some more.
>>
>>400618
Bleh boring, but first chance we get to get out of this place and do something interesting without the fear of necessarily getting lost I'll be all over that shit.
>>
>>400621
You sneak around the quiet halls, the stone frigid on your bare feet. You turn a corner and suddenly bump into the tall, black-haired man you saw earlier.
>>
>>400634
"Aahh! Oh...I-I'm sorry!"
>>
>>400643
This, but no stuttering. Not necessary, we've seen enough shit to steel up a bit.
>>
>>400643
He less 'gets back up' and more 'unfolds' back to his original height, and you have to his original height.
"Ah, yes. Seta's girl. Erika, was it?"
>>
>>400655
'Well... Yes he found me, brought me here.
>>
>>400661
"So I recall. My name is Tybalt. I am a translator of sorts." He narrows his eyes. "What are you doing on the fourth floor, anyway?"
>>
>>400677
"Just looking around. I wanted to see more of this place."
>>
>>400679
"I do hope you were not engaging in anything of a mischievous nature."
>>
>>400686
Gotta take a break, roll20 starting up.
>>
>>400686
'Why would you assume that? It's true I'm dirt poor with practically nothing to my name... But I never did anything too outrageous, though perhaps sometimes I aught to have .
>>
>>400695
Noice. What game you runnin? Pathfinder with friends?
>>
>>400702
Actually, I'm playing Pathfinder this time. Halfling Cleric of Cayden Cailean.
>>
>>400708
Cool beans, have fun op.
>>
>>400713
Thanks. See you in 4-ish hours.
>>
>>400695
See you later and good luck
>>
>>400716
Righto, I'm ready to roll. But also ready to sleep, I'll pull through if necessary though.
>>
>>400698
"It's nothing to do with you personally, I've simply heard that children are want to do such things."
>>
>>402394
'Well, I suppose that's true... I never had freinds like that though, well I did have one, foreigner... Died of a fever quick though. Can I go now? Oh wait! Is there anything fun to do here?
>>
>>402589
"I wouldn't know. I don't know what you think is fun."
>>
>>402751
'Hmm, it's alright I'll just look on my own. By!'

Walk past and explore!
>>
>>402751
"Oh, well. Thank you for your time."
Time to explore some more.
>>
>>402760
"Don't touch anything."
Where to now, anons?
>>
>>402796
Where can we go?
>>
>>402819
You're on one of the top floors of the embassy. You can go down or outside.
>>
>>402830
Go down.
>>
>>402841
My bad, dinner was eaten, keks were had. Yeah go down for the sake of progression
>>
>>402830
Ya, these humans boring, let's go harass some lizards!
>>
>>402980
Yeah! A new anon! Welcome to the lizard orgy! Jewish and new world order beraucracy passes required.
>>
>>402841
You head back down to the bottom of a tower and take a look at what you missed. Besides your room, the bottom floor contains a combination kitchen/eating area. In it, a lizardfolk prepares food. A small keldish woman sits at a table, eating a meal of gray sausages and an apple. "Oh! You're awake!"
>>
>>403118
Keldish?
>lore bomb please
'Hi, just looking around.'
>>
>>403126
Kelda is a small nation famous for it's art. The current King has adopted and attitude of permitting most scientific and arcane research regardless of how taboo, something that puts it at odds with many. People from Kelda tend to have lightly tanned skin and brown eyes.

"Good morning! My names Sybil, and this is Zaril."
>>
>>403204
"Hello!"
Seem like nice people
>>
>>403224
You or them?
>>
>>403232
Them
>>
>>403224
"Do you... um... need anything?"
>>
>>403243
"Oh, nothing really. I was just wandering around and smell this wonderful scent."
>>
>>403301
"That's Zaril for you. She's a master chef. Took to cooking faster than most other Folk I've seen."
>>
>>403323
"If it' not too much trouble, may have a sample?"
And this is where I need to go to sleep. I had fun, Shou. Hope you continue it.
>>
>>403350
Thanks. I fully intend to.
>>
>>403350
Zaril sets aside a small sample. It's some sort of rice dish, with chicken and salt. Sybil's right: It's quite delicious.
>>
>>403440
"You're new to the Capital, right?"
>>
>>403450
'Yes I am. It's really strange, nothing like I've ever seen.'
>>
>>404435
"We'll have to show you around sometime."
>>
>>406578
'Well alright then. There anything interesting to do around here for an outsider like me?'

Sorry for being late, I'm running a quest right now.
>>
>>406913
Really? Which one?
"There's an ampitheater nearby. Levon has some board game's if you've not already played them."
>>
>>407066
Oh the dark age Britannia one. I appearantlu scared a lot of my players away because I write too much and I take a long time to post. Or at least I think that's it.

'Yes I've heard of that nifty game. I got beat bad, but I'll get better I have confidence. So where's the amphitheater?'
>>
>>407125
Oh I should probably remove my name when commenting here. Nah I'll just change it
>>
>>407125
"A couple streets north, at the border of the Third Quarter. I can take you, if you like."
>>
>>407154
'Alright, I don't know much about this place anyway. Of course if it doesn't take too much out of your day, wouldn't want to make you feel like I'm forcing you out of pettiness or anything like that.'
>>
>>407167
"Of course not. Good excuse for me to get a break anyway."

You and Sybil travel through the bustling streets of the Capital. You see more people in thirty minutes than you think you've ever seen in your entire life. A rushing stream of people bumps past you, and Sybil has to grab tightly to your hand to keep you close.
>>
>>407219
Soak it all in. Like really just look at everything

(Thx for the tips sempai
>>
>>407219
You finally find your way to the play, and sit in a huge depression in the stone floor. Sybil buys a small bag of some sort of roasted seeds, and it begins. The play is some sort of epic romance, a story of a princess and the commander of an opposing army. The battle scenes are incredible, and at one point they even create the illusion of a titanic monster that hovers in the air for a few seconds before dissolving into mist. By the end, you and Sybil have shed more than a few tears.
>>
>>407328
'I really wish I could do that! Can I do that? Man this place is so cool!'
>>
Bump

Makin shire the quest doesnt fall off too far ya know?
>>
>>407328
The next day, you assist Sybil with sorting the records. It's nice to have an easy, repetitive job to help take your mind off things.

You begin to do odd jobs around the embassy, assisting with various tasks. On Saturday, you play Ganaset against Levon. You lose.

You begin taking language lessons from Tybalt. The next week, you challenge Levon again. You lose.

You learn the Final Quarter more completely than your own name. You stay up night after night, falling asleep on top of books on ancient history and magical theory. You challenge Levon again. You lose.

And so it goes.
Until...
>>
>>408318
Your armies clash, red blood and black ichor spilling across the battlefield. It has been a long, and hard-fought, and many on both sides have fallen. Your champion's shield deflects the worst of the blows of some hideous mass of muscle and talon, but he grows slow, and sluggish, and with one deft strike, his head falls from his shoulders. The horde advances, and you catch a look at the enemy warlord.

His armies advance, tearing through your infantry. You manage to take out a few of his units, but it isn't looking good. Quietly, a couple archers move themselves into more advantageous positions. The enemy takes the bait, and with one move, your war elephant is directly in the warlord's path.

With shaking lips, you pronounce a single word.
"Check."
>>
>>408455
Levon moves his king.
"Check."
He moves it again.
"Check."
Another time.
"Check."
There is a stunned silence. Then, Levon starts laughing.
"Well played."
>>
>>408760
Fucking rekt

'Good game'

Move to shake his hand
>>
>>408995
"Well, you can't say that I didn't hold my own. Has it really been six years?"
>>
>>409077
(magical proficiency? We get tested for that?)

'I suppose so, I have things to do today however. Thank you for the lessons'
>>
>>409077
Aye yo op you doing a new thread or are you dead?
>>
>>409154
"I have nothing more to teach you. Goodbye, Erika."

You are now Erika, 17-year-old orphaned Ganaset master. You've spent a third of your life in the embassy, and it's become a second home for you.
What now?
>>
>>410906
Shit sorry for being late
So magic is a no go?
Bummer.
Let's go visit our other friends.
>>
>>411079
You've read books on magic, and you understand the basic concepts, but you still can't wrap your head around the thing that turns theory into practice.

Who should we visit first?
>Tybalt
>Sybil
>Zaril
>>
>>411112
Go down the list baby.
>>
>>411122
Tybalt first then.

The first scraggly patches of a beard are beginning to appear on his chin. At one point, he towered over you, but you're almost the same height.
"Hello, Erika. How was your game with Levon?"
>>
>>411180
'I beat him... After ohh, 5 maybe 6 years. Feels good.'
