Your name is Kelly.

You are but a simple mook of some mad scientist who was too cheap to hire actual guards, mostly because he had other scientists in the books, so he decided to whip up guards himself. Sadly he only had human and hyena DNA at his disposal, making you all very much the same- sort of. He affectionately calls you all "Gnolls". You have no idea where that name comes from but you assume it's a human thing.

Today is another simple day of patrolling the whole lab. Your role is to keep out anyone who really shouldn't be here and to mediate any problems between your 400 brothers and sisters.

Call out something for Kelly to do and roll 1d10. The highest number rolled decides the action. Note that troll posts WILL be ignored- even if its a 10.

You decide to head to the barracks, wanting to check in on everything. Might as well patrol that way as well.

Along the way is Lab G. Although you are a mere mook, you do have access to the labs- only in emergencies however.

As you are about to pass, you hear smashing coming through the doors...

...which should be impossible because they're soundproofed in case of eavesdropping. It's clear whatever is going inside is VERY loud and most likely a bad thing.

What will you do?

You head inside. Whatever the noise is, it's your job to find out and die for the labs safety sake, even if you don't want to.

You open the doors with you emergency code, sounding off an alarm for a bit before heading into the lab to see an incredible mess but no sign of whatever left it- having scrambled away when it heard the door alarm.

All you have is an incredible mess and no leads. That and the fact because the alarm went off, other gnolls will be coming too.

What do you do?

Proceed further into the lab to see whether there is another entrance through which the culprit may have escaped. Also carefully avoid stepping in puddles(?) on the floor.

You look about the lab to check for other exits, hoping to see where whatever caused all this has gone.

You're careful not to step in the puddles on the floor- those chemicals could do anything to your body.

As you look around, you find a containment device. It's something you know very well, you were born and woke up in one of these things so you naturally know that these things are fucking tough.

So when you see that the container is broken along with CONTAINMENT FAILED, you know whatever did this could probably snap you in two.

You then notice the punch marks on the walls and the crumbling... ceiling...

Shit. It seems you have found the creatures exit.

Considering your job is to patrol, looking for an escaped experiment is outside your zone of control, so you decide to inform your boss of the new problem.

Usually, this would involve some sort of intercom or radio or a phone but your boss is a mad scientist! None of that normal stuff!

Which explains why your left hand can become a radio- he modified your bodies a lot more than one can see. Cool stuff too.

Enough of that though, you have your boss/technical father/mad scientist

"Who is this!? Stat your name! Didn't I tell you fools to bother me when something important is happening?!"

"Uhh, sir! It's Kelly!"

"You're ACTUAL name, not those silly nicknames you all use!"

"Uh..." you groan. You hate your actual name. "KXE117, sir."

"Good, now I know who to talk to later about the misuse of those little comms... Now... What is it!?"

"Well, I'm in Lab G and... something has broken through containment sir."

"...what?"

"It also fled through the ceiling somehow. What do you want me to do sir?"

"Gather up your... siblings quickly. That thing is to be contained IMMEDIATELY. FIND IT NOW."

Well, now you have new orders and it seems that finding whatever did is now indeed your job. What will you do now?

Since whatever escaped managed to destroy the containment vessel and smash through the ceiling, we probably can't take it on our own. If we are allowed to use the radio to call for backup from our fellow hyena hybrids, do so. If not, wait until at least one other gnoll arrives before starting the search.

The 117 is nothing but an ID, along with the KXE part. You have no idea what it means and what Halo has to do with it. Then again, you have no idea what this Halo is anyways. Your boss might however considering he's fairly strange.

You step outside and radio for your fellow gnolls to come to Lab G as fast as possible because you have an incredibly bad situation: Code Z, the Boss is MAD.

You get a confirmation from at 10 of your brothers and sisters but while you wait you hear a thump from above.

You dodge back before whatever's punching it's way through the ceiling falls in and just in time to witness this... blob fall down.

It's amorphous mass is jet black and has two tendrils that seem to be able to form any shape it wants.

Also of note is the mouth leaking blood... it might explain why there was mysteriously no scientist in Lab G now that you think about it.

Looks like it's a fight. Lowly mook vs. a powerful blob of goop.
