>[STARLIGHT REP.]
"Here's the mission. Your client is the Starlight Corporation.

"We want you assist us in recapturing Old Anthem City. Starlight Corporation's ultimate goal is to exploit the endless resources in outer space... for the greater good of humanity's long term survival, of course. The radical element currently occupying Old Anthem City, a group calling themselves the 'Iron Cross,' are one of many obstacles standing in our way. Drive these savages out of the city, and we'll be able to make use of the facilities there to further our research.

"This is an excellent opportunity for you to establish yourself as a real mercenary, and to strengthen relations with your one and only sponsor, the Starlight Corporation. I am confident that you will not disappoint."

"Wake up rookie. We'll be arriving at Old Anthem City shortly. You know the drill by now... Go in hard and fast, and don't stop until you're the last man standing. According to our intel, the enemy only possesses first generation Cores. But our Leo-Ray is a gen three model. You'll be outnumbered, but certainly not outgunned.

"We're looking at a standard run down cityscape. The only facilities of value are beyond the immediate combat zone, so you can cut loose if you don't mind civilian casualties.

"I updated the OS just like you asked, so lets go over the interface one more time before the drop. The red units indicated here are our targets. Wipe them all out one by one. The grayed out zones are obstructed by large buildings. Use them for cover, and try not to get boxed in by enemies. If you need to, you can fly over them with your thrusters, but remember that gaining too much altitude will expose you to enemies all over the city. Try to stay at ground level if possible.

"Lastly, your own unit will be marked by a blue triangle once we drop you off. I'll update the map when we reach the target area."

"I've equipped the Leo-Ray with weapons similar to the ones you've been practicing with in the simulator. Live combat should be simple to adapt to, but lets go over everything again.

"Your primary weapon is the RIFLE, a standard shooting weapon. Attached to your secondary weapon hardpoint is a short ranged ENERGY BLADE. It's powerful, but you can only use it up close. Lastly, there's the E-CANNON on your shoulder mount. It's your strongest weapon, but the energy drain will leave you vulnerable after firing it, so use it sparingly.

"Our Leo-Ray is a third generation Core. It's rated at a base d10 threat level. The enemies you'll be facing are first generation Core models. At most, they'll be rated at a d6 threat level. When you engage one, all we have to do is get a higher die result than they do, and we'll be able to win.

"If an enemy does end up with a higher result than us, we might take some damage. The Leo-Ray has 8 points of ARMOR, meaning we can survive 8 hits before going down.

"So you want to go in from the Southwest? Got it. We'll be arriving momentarily..."

A rocket explodes just a bit too close, leaving a nasty scorch mark on the side of your machine. OPERATOR will not be pleased. Paint jobs aren't THAT expensive, but still...
