We are a Freewind Equenaut: a human archer/warrior who rides a pegasus. Soaring across the skies of the great city of Ravnica, cutting through clouds and skewering our enemies with mighty arrows. Our bond with our steed is great.

What is our name? Are we male, or female? What is our general description?

What is our Pegasus' name? Is it a colt or filly? What color is its coat?

We don't need to go by the picture on the card, but we can.

Dirk Windscourge, rider of the aptly-named Golden Wings, or Goldie for short, a beautiful filly pegasus with a golden tone to her coat.

Now, how do we earn our living? Who pays us? In other words, what faction are we apart of?

Whelp, good enough for me, I guess we're working for the church. No more Black jokes, at least in a professional setting.

Let's get some more details out. What is our equipment? Our arms and armor? Generic stuff only for now, we'll deal with special artifacts later on when we earn them.

What does Dirk fight with? A bow? A sword? A crossbow? A lance, perhaps?

Our story begins with Dirk doing his job and helping out the church. Unfortunately for our would-be hero (that's YOU, by the way!), he is in a bit of a tight bind! We're in the Undercity, a place that is difficult for equenauts to navigate in. The Undercity, while having plenty of space, is still full of pillars, columns, spires and the fact that there is a roof over one's head at all times means it can be hard for a pegasus rider to work in.

But the Golgari are making a move on one of the Syndicate's churches, and you're part of its protection. You're paid to fight where they tell you to fight, not pick where the fight is going to happen.

The Golgari are sending a swarm of undead that are rising out of the filthy Undercity muck. No matter how many you put down, more seem to keep coming back up! Goldie is nervous, but you keep her calm as you wind and fly between large pillars and take aim at the corpses.

Let's have some 1d100's to see how well the battle goes.

Flying between two pillars, you let fly an arrow that blasts cleanly through a zombie's chest. The creature falls back into the mud, but two more rise to take its place. Up ahead, the Orzhov soldiers, more like peasants armed by the church and told to fight to repent for their sins, make ready to defend the large staircase that leads to the lower levels of the church. If the zombies flood over and get up into it, they could contaminate all manner of its stores, and that would be a costly thing for the church to remove. They hate unnecessary expenditures.

Behind the ground defenders, an unnaturally tall and thin priest in a white robe chants words from a book, giving his followers strength and courage through their blind obedience. This also seems to have an effect on the undead; as he spreads his gospel, it has a noticeable effect on them and they slow down, as though burdened by his words. You know your ears certainly are.

Either way, this makes them much easier targets, and soon enough you’re blasting them down much more quickly and efficiently, and they don’t get up nearly as often.

Suddenly, as you let fly another arrow, you cringe in pain as though you were stabbed in the back by a poisonous dagger. A searing, terrible pain takes hold of you and Goldie, panicking slightly, veers off-course and you find yourself thrown from her back as you fall down, tumbling into the mud.

You pick yourself up and look back for any wound, but there is none. Then, your eyes are drawn off to the side: an elf, female, with dark hair and even darker eyes, holds a doll fashioned slightly in your likeness with a dagger over it.

You lift up a hand towards her and then fall face-first into the muck. Somewhere overhead, Goldie can be heard neighing as she searches for you.

When you awaken, you are not fully sure where you are. It is peaceful and green, with a soothing aura.

You feel a hand on your chest and look up to behold a beautiful dryad. She looks to be a warrior of some kind.

"You are safe," she says. "I rescued you from the Undercity."

"Where am I?"

"I have returned you here, to the greenery. This place has helped you heal."

"Why did you save me? Are you from the church?"

"No, I am not sworn of the Syndicate, but the Conclave."

"Thank you," you tell her, sitting up. "Where is my pegasus?"

"It was your pegasus that drew me to your body. The undead were closing in, but I quickly swept them away with the help of my fellow sister-militants. Your steed was very protective of your body."

"Did I die?"

"No. You were wounded, gravely, but not dead. We calmed her down as the Golgari and the Orzhov made war."

You sit back and think. This district lies contended; the Orzhov, the Golgari and the Selesnya clans all have roughly equal footing. You worked for the church because they paid the most. But you thought that the Selesnya had almost no presence in the Undercity.

"Where is she?" you ask, focusing.

"Being fed and drinking clean water. We believe in treating all beings with compassion."

"Well, that's fantastic, I'll just be on my way then. What do I owe you for the---"

She places a hand on your chest and forces you to lay back down. "Compassion, even for prisoners."

You blink a few times and realize your weapons are nowhere to be found.

"And am I a prisoner?"

"You work for the Syndicate, equenaut. I'm afraid you are."

"Okay, how much money do you want?"

"We do not deal in money, my friend. You will be exchanged for something we want from the church. In the meantime, we shall treat you fairly and justly."

"Woah, this isn't a good idea," you say to her. "The church will never let this go. I'll be stuck into an even worse contract than I'm already in!"

"This is the price you pay for dealing with the Syndicate, I am afraid."

"But if they give up something they think is more valuable than me, they're going to take that value out of me! Have you seen what they do to unreliable assets? Isn't there anything you can do?"

"We give compassion to all, but protection only to those who swear to serve the Conclave."

"I'll join you!" you quickly say.

She is surprised by this. "Are you motivated solely to save yourself?"

"Uh, no!" you reply, holding up your hands. "I never wanted to work for the church, honestly. They paid the most and got me in the employee contract, you know."

"Then are you prepared to fight for the Conclave and defend the natural order of the world?"

"...Sure!" you say, giving her your most convincing smile.

"I need to consult with the others," she says, standing up to leave. "This room is yours. Make yourself comfortable, but do not try to leave. We have hounds to guard you from others as much as from yourself."

She stands up and leaves. "If you need anything more for your wounds, you can call the healer."

"Can I see my pegasus?"

"Soon, that much I promise you," she says before leaving. Watching her go, you see a pair of hounds outside the door, sitting and obediently watching.

You look around the room. It's very homey, with wooden tables and bowls of fruits and leafy vegetables.

'How am I going to deal with the church?' you wonder. 'I need to find a way out of this situation... But they have my pegasus.'

As you walk over, you find a bath in a secluded area with the shade of green leaf-like weavings that offer additional privacy. You strip down and get into the bath to clean yourself.

Nearby, you hear the stamping of hooves and you think your pegasus Goldie is here! But when you look, you see it is actually a centaur. "Just dropping off medicine," he calls out in the room, setting a bowl of some herbal stuff down on the table. "Take it to heal up good and strong."

The centaur leaves through the entrance as you finish up cleaning.

You get out, get dressed, approach the table and look at the medicine. It is a green sludge, like he ground up leaves.

"Selesnyans," you mutter as you gobble it down.

You have to hold your nose a bit and force it, but it goes down rather easy, taste aside.

Once this is done, you approach the window and look out at the green district beyond; this section of it is covered in trees and plants. They're as common as the buildings are. Not far from this area, however, is where the Orzhov start taking control. Their region is more orderly, cleaner you'd say, but in a stiffling kind of way.

The door opens after a while and you look to see another dryad enter. She is in an ornate green and white robe with a headdress made to resemble the Conclave's iconography of a tree. She fixes her eyes upon you.

"I am a guildmage for the Conclave," she explains. "I am told you wish to abandon your allegiance to the Orzhov Syndicate and join us. Is this true?"

You're a bit too busy staring at her chest. "Uh-huh. Right."

"The fruits of nature are bountiful and beautiful, and it must be protected."

"Bountiful fruits, right."

"Alright, what do I have to do?"

"You must prove your loyalty to the Conclave before we accept and believe in you. In order to do so, you must bring to us an item from the church, an artifact, that will prove to us you have shifted your allegiances."

"Like what?"

"We will allow you to determine that."

"Alright, sounds good. I'll just take my pegasus and---"

"Your steed will remain here, rider."

"But I---"

"If we have nothing to keep you from returning, we would be turning you free. If you are lying, then we let you go for nothing and are fools. But if you can be an asset for us, rather than against us, we shall allow you to join us."

"My horse is special," you tell her. "She's very important. I want to at least see her."

"Of course. But she will remain with us. Rest assured that she will be in good hands; we have already fed and washed her coat. She is a beautiful creature, rider."

"I would like to see my pegasus, please."

She nods and leads you out through the hall. You appear to be in some kind of building held aloft by a tree, or built into the tree... stone and wood merge at strange points, and there are few sharp edges; everything seems like it was grown, rather than designed.

"Thank you for letting me see my pegasus," you say. "I never really dealt with you Selesnya-types, but you're not so bad." As you follow her, you think to yourself, 'On the surface, anyway.'

"The Conclave has a strong footing here in this district," the guildmage speaks as you walk past the guard wolves. "But the Syndicate and the Golgari Swarm are just as powerful as we are. It is a delicate balance, held together only by the fact that each of us is enemies to each other. We dominate the upper regions of the district and its skies, while the Orzhov has equal control of the streets and extends its influence in the the Undercity, where the Golgari hold the most sway."

"You wouldn't happen to know the elf that tried to do me in, would you?" you ask.

"I am afraid not," she replies. "But the elven presence is strong among them here. The Elves of the Deep Shadow, cast out of the Conclave long ago, lair here."

She takes you to a platform outside where you see Goldie being attended to by a pair of beautiful elven maidens, currently brushing her golden mane. Upon seeing you, she gets very excited and rushes over to nuzzle you and accept hugs.

You pet her. "It's okay, girl, I'm here," you tell her, calming her down a bit.

"Well, perhaps you and I could discuss it when I return... in private, perhaps?"

The dryad's smile warms as the two elven girls giggle nearby. She reaches up and places a finger on your chin, pushing it upwards slightly as she says, "Perhaps when you return, equenaut."

"Perhaps I would return sooner if I had some assistance," you reply, stepping closer to her. "If not my Goldie, then something else, perhaps?"

"Perhaps I desire you." Placing your hands daringly upon her waist and shoulder, you lean in to whisper in her ear, "Tonight, and on my journey when I leave tomorrow morning."

The dryad's skin, though appearing wooden, is soft and warm. The hand on your chest reaches up to your neck. "What you ask comes at a cost," she says.

"I didn't know you were that kind of a girl." Nearby, the elven girls overhearing giggle a bit as the dryad lets out a playful chuckle.

Grabbing your neck, she stares into your eyes. "That is not what I mean. The act you seek would require you to give up some of yourself. We believe in the many, not the one. You must open yourself, open your mind, to join with mine."

You blink a few times. "Permanently?"

"Such magic is possible; our great leader, Trostani, is one such being with many bodies. But no, I am not so powerful. Join with me in the act of passion, let our minds and bodies join together, share with me all of your being and I shall do the same for you, and if your intent in true, I shall accompany you on your journey."

Her request is a bit staggering. It's a commitment of its own, in a way. "I don't even know your name," you tell her.

"Vylindara," she whispers, her lips mere inches from your own. "Will you join with me, and become one? This will bring you closer to the Conclave, to know the joy of being apart of something more than yourself, becoming one of many."

"Let's do it," you say with a smile.

She steps back, taking you by the hand. "Let us waste no time."

"Now?" you ask. "Don't I get to treat you to dinner first?"

"Nature waits for no one," she replies, leading you into a flowery bedchamber within the heart of the tree-building. Here is a bed of roses, literally, that she approaches, shedding her Selesnyan robe as she does.

"Your clothes will hinder you," she says, and you're quick to start discarding them.

Eagerly, you follow her to the bed and touch her, kissing her as she warmly responds to your advances. Soon things escalate, as she breathes into your ear many words.

"Let us become one," she bids you. "Join with me in the glory of the Conclave. You will know such wonders... Let the spirit of the worldsoul breathe life into you..." Again you kiss as she becomes completely enraptured by you, her magic reaching out to confer with your soul, and it finds you ready and willing.

Your mind opens up to hers and you share in her thoughts, her feelings, and she in yours. Memories of a life not your own flashes before you as though you had experienced them yourself. You find yourself able to influence her actions as much as she influences your own, and soon enough you're not even certain whose body is your own anymore. You experience all that she is and more; her power, her duty to the Conclave, her connection with the world around her.

"Dance with me in the reaches of green," she whispers. "Embrace me with arms of nature, comfort me with winds of spring... Like the fertile fields of flowers, lay within me... Plant the seed to sprout in future beauty... Yes... Yes..."

>...

You awaken in the flowerbed, which is appropriate, as you were just dreaming about flowers blooming. The dryad, Vylindara, lies alongside you, not truly asleep but communing with the natural spirits of this place. Small vines are wrapped around her arms and legs.

When she arises from her stupor, she gives you a smile. "It shall be a daughter."

"Wait... What?"

"The seed," she says, planting a hand over her bare stomach. "It shall be a daughter, and she will serve the Conclave."

You blink a few times as you think about how to properly react to her words. 'A daughter...'

You respond by kissing her. She welcomes your action with an embrace, holding you tightly against her. It's strange... though you are no longer magically connected to her and cannot recall all that transpired during the event, you remember what it was like, and it certainly left an impression on you.

You have a strange desire, or perhaps it is not so strange given what you have done, to serve the Conclave. You shared with her and she shared with you, and as such you have her perspective on the Conclave, Ravnica itself and the world at large.

Money seems almost trivial compared to what you could build here, with her, and with others. You desire her, and she desires you, and as the passion builds again you find yourself hungering to once more share with her this experience, this unity, this wonderful joining. And so you do, well into the night.

>...

When you awaken once more, night has passed and you once again find yourself alongside your new lover. So many things were shared last night... It all seems like a faraway dream, but you know that more 'dreams' like that can be had in the future.

She opens your hand and places in it a wooden signet. "Take this," she whispers. "Keep it hidden from the eyes of the Orzhov. They still think you one of them, but you have been gone for too long. They will question you."

"I thought you were coming with me?" you say to her.

"I must think of more," she replies, placing her hand once more upon her belly. "If you die, your seed will live on. But if I die, our flower will never bloom. You must understand that I am now carrying part of our future, and though you are as well, I must be protective of the seed as it takes root."

You hold her and kiss her forehead. "I understand. Stay here, keep safe."

"And return to us, Dirk," she bids you. "Return for our daughter."

"Vyl, I will need help," you say, hiding the signet in a pocket. "You have seen my soul, and know that I am true. Let me have Goldie. The Orzhov will question me less if I return with her. I am an equenaut, after all."

"Very well," she says after a mere moment's hesitation. "Take her with you, and take this as well."

She places her hand upon your chest as green and white magics swirl about her wrist. You begin to feel a warmth, a pounding in your blood, a rush yet it does not cloud you. Instead it brings a clarity of action, of purpose.

"What is it?" you ask.

"An enchantment of courage," she says. "Against all danger, you will be unflinching, you shall know no fear. But do not be reckless, for one can lose their life if they are fearless and foolish."

"I understand," you say to her, pulling her in for another kiss. "I shall return, Vyl."

"I shall be waiting."

You fly towards the portion of the district controlled by the Syndicate. It always seems to be cloudy here, giving the well-lit buildings a spooky kind of atmosphere even in the day. You guide Goldie to weave between the tall spires and orderly structures, seeing the throngs of people gathered below. Regions where the Orzhov are powerful have, perhaps, the largest divide between class in the city. The districts where Boros and Azorious hold sway are similar, but there's always something so bleak about the way Orzhov handles its people. The nobles tread upon them while they beg and plead. The poor are as numerous as the church's thrulls, but powerless against the might of the all-controlling church, to which everyone is owed something, even if it is your soul.

They have money, of course, but it is more often than not blood money. In the past, you never shied away from taking it, but now that you have witnessed what the Conclave can offer, you want out.

But getting out of a contract with the Syndicate is going to be tricky, trickier than anything you've ever done before, and you've pulled off a trick or two in your day. Navigating the skies with your steed is one thing, but navigating the clauses of a contract with these people?

You land before the primary basilica of the district. It is a massive building, with doors large enough for you to walk your steed through. Though church-goers come constantly to pray and be prey, normal people are not allowed through here without reason, but you are not exactly normal. You are a hired hand, after all, contracted for the church. You turn Goldie towards the steps and approach the guards.

"I am above such extortion," you inform them, earning a cuckle. "I am on an important mission. I must speak to the one who holds my contract immediately."

"You are above the ground only because the church allows it," the first says.

"And no one is above extortion," the second replies.

You suddenly feel a slight tug at your belt, and when you turn to look, a trained winged thrull thows a black cloth in your face. By the time you remove it and Goldie stamps her hooves, the thrull has flown back to the guards and given them your money.

The guard opens the bag and inspects it. "You could have paid less. You are so generous, equenaut."

You ride past them into the basilica, not intent on making trouble. You are not afraid, carrying the blessing of courage, but nor do you wish to get in over your head. Nor will you need that much money when you leave. Here, within the hallowed halls of the basilica, you see the ornate gothic architecture and brooding masses lining the pews, and you're not sure where the former ends and the latter begins. The people here are dull and grey like the stones they throw themselves upon. They feel guilt, they feel remorse, they feel pain and they think the church is their only option.

Lambs to the slaughter, in more ways than one.

Your contract holder is a woman you have only met once. Other times, you've only worked through lower clerics and priests. Miss Lucretia is a strange and dark woman; you remember her eyes most of all, piercingly dark as they were.

"Oh, are you out of the loop? Perhaps you are not in as good of her graces as you would like to imagine."

"I have no imagination," he replies without the barest hint of humor in his voice. You leave the man then, turning your steed back to leave the way you came. Or so you make it seem. What you need is a distraction of some manner so as to pry eyes away from you and allow you to head downstairs to see Lucretia in her office.

Looking around, you notice something passing by outside. An alms beast, a creature from whose back is thrown coins to the poor, is passing by. Though the coins seem as though a blessing, they are actually something of a burden. Only redeemable at Orzhov businessnes, and the tax rates are murder (sometimes literally). But still the poor flock to them, taking whatever they can get, even if the hand offering it holds a dagger in the other.

But if you could spook the beast in some way, get it to rampage or cause some damage, perhaps that would be your ticket inside Lucretia's office by making a diversion big enough to sneak downstairs.

Heading north, where Orzhov influence is still strong but the Boros Legion begins to hold sway as well, you and Goldie walk down the streets in search of something that may help you on your mission. Here, things are just as orderly, but with the lesser influence of Orzhov, things feel not quite as stiffling.

There is a woman here, selling birds. She is quite fetching in her own right, with a dress accented by bird feathers. She has many cages of birds, which could potentially serve as a useful distraction; gaining many of them and releasing them at once could panic the animal in front of the basilica.

"Good day, handsome sir," she bids you with a slight bow. "I see you already soar amongst the clouds, and no finer winged beast could you have as a companion, but might I humbly interest you in some of my delightful songbirds?"

"I was recently deprived of my coin," you explain. "Is there anything I could do in exchange for your birds?"

She thinks for a moment. "Well, there is something. I could give you a few if you were to put a stop to a small gaggle of goblins who have been harassing me. They attempt to steal my birds for food. Though they are conscripts and initiates of the legion, I do not trust them and cannot bear to sell my birds to them, knowing their pretty songs will be stamped out by their gnashing, horrid teeth. Pardon me, I do not mean to be crass."

"Not at all, my lady. I have yet to meet a goblin I found to be good company."

You walk Goldie down the street, waiting for a while before you see the goblins trudging down the row.

Four of them in total, wearing simple armor with crude Boros symbols upon them. They walk down the way, their attitudes giving off the impression that they are much tougher and taller than everyone they pass, and disturb shops along the way, asking questions to the shopkeepers about upholding the law and frivelous things. Small bullies in armor with badges, and no other legionnaires to see and put an end to it.

You suppose that is why you are here.

"Hold, goblins," you call out to them, moving your steed to block their path.

"Oy! Outta the way!" one of them says.

"I'm afraid not. I've been asked to speak with you on the behalf of a concerned citizen."

"Which one?" another asks. "Issit that one what sells the shiny stones?"

"No, I bet me teeth it's the one at the knife stand, it is!"

"Quiet you lot!" the largest of them, and the most discerning, barks out. He looks up at you. "It's the one wit the birdies, it is it is. I can smell'em on this fancy bird-ridin' stinkin' Orzhov slag."

You look down at him as he squints and spits on the ground. "Well move already! You're in the way of the legion, you are!"

"You speak for the entire legion?" you ask, amused. "I understand that is a lot of people to speak for."

"We're in the legion, that means we get to do what we want, long as we follow our orders and do as we're told!"

"How paradoxical."

"Parachutin' dogs?" another asks, scratching his head.

You rear backwards on your steed and then stomp her hooves in front of the goblins, scattering them. You do this a few more times, blocking their avenues of escape, until the four of them have run off in he opposite direction. Turning Goldie back, you walk towards the bird seller and inform her that they will not be bothering her today.

"Oh, thank you kind sir," she says with a smile. She fetches a cage with several white dove-like birds and hands it to you, and you hoist it up and prepare to head back. There should still be time to frighten the beast in front of the basilica...

"Hold," a voice calls out. You turn and see another Boros Legionnaire, a woman mage with short red hair and bright eyes. She is a guildmage, much like Vylindara is for the Conclave.

"May I help you?" you ask her.

"No, but I may help you. I'm not a fan of those goblins; I've been looking for an excuse to get rid of them and have them moved to another battalion. They're going to report this to their superior."

"I do not intend to be around by then," you reply.

"But still, it would not do well for them to get a bounty on your head when you were in the right. I was watching the situation from one of the rooftops. The Boros and the Azorious work closely together in this area, more out of professionalism than true allegiance, but things could turn out badly for you."

"What can you do?"

"I am in a position above those goblins, and it wouldn't be out of the question for me to put their word into doubt. But I need something from you."

"What manner is this favor?" you ask her.

"There is a corrupt warrior in the legion, but I am powerless to do anything about it. The matter is above my level. But you, with your steed, can reach him. He is a skyknight, a roc rider."

"I'll see what I can do," you tell her. "Farewell."

You ride back to the basilica, where the alms beast still walks. From a hidden position, you take the birdcage and release it, sending the birds flying into the creature's face, causing it to rear backwards. The people in the cart upon its back nearly fall, but several baskets of their coins do, quickly causing a small riot in the streets as people rush for them.

Soon, the basilica guards and the cleric are on scene to calm the masses. "This greed is a sin!" the priest calls out, though little pay heed. "You will pay for it in blood!" As the guards begin pacifying the crowd, you leave Goldie on a rooftop and climb down, sneaking into the church and entering the lower levels.

Here, you open the large doors to Lucretia's office. It is a dark room, lit only by a few braziers. She sits upon a golden throne, flanked by two gargoyles. In one hand she holds a goblet of dark, red fluid poured from the mouth of one of the statues: blood. She is a beautiful woman, dressed in a midnight black silk dress meant to show off her lovely form.

She smiles as she sees you, apparently amused. The vampire brings the goblet up to her mouth and drinks slowly, enjoying every last drop as she does.

"I don't believe I sent for you," she says after finishing her drink.

"You didn't," you reply. "I invited myself in. We need to talk."

"Amuse me," she says, waving the fingers of her free hand, "and tell me what we must speak on."

You lower yourself to stand on one knee and slightly bow your head.

She smiles and rises from her throne, walking down the steps. "Now, dear equenaut... Why do you seek renegotiation?" She walks in front of you, lifting your chin with a finger. You stare up into her dark, piercing eyes. "Are you dissatisfied with something? Do you yearn for something else?" She leans over slightly, putting her bountiful cleavage in front of your face. "Tell me what you yearn for... I wish to know."

"I want to renegotiate," you say, the enchantment of courage keeping you from losing your cool. "I am dissatisfied, yes. I was left for dead at the battle against the Golgari."

Lucretia straightens and walks to a nearby vault. "Your contract is very clear on matters such as this. We are under no obligation to retrieve a fallen contracted soldier if we believe the situation too costly. The Golgari were far too numerous. I read the reports from the battle-priests myself."

"I do not enjoy being treated as an asset," you reply.

"Few do," she laments. "But that is the lot in life for so many." Facing you, she holds up a hand, allowing a bat from the ceiling to swoop down and perch upon it, hanging from her fingers. This was a purposeful demonstration; you look up and see there are many, many more such creatures, all silently hanging and staring down, mostly at you.

She continues, "There are those meant to serve, those meant to rule, and those meant to die in service. You signed the contract yourself, and it is very, very specific. The church hired Azorious bureaucrats to ensure no detail would be left untouched."

"One life for another, one investment for another. You must give your firstborn child to be raised by the church."

Your eyes widen a bit. She smiles even more widely. "Of course, you don't have any children... do you? Even if you don't right now, were you to, say, leave the service of the church without properly adhering to contractual obligation, all manner of things would be sanctioned against you... or any child you have in the future... or may even be having right now..."

The vampire holds you, casting some manner of spell.

Your insolence has brought you this pain, but you will again learn to serve. You will become obedient, yes, and lawful once more. But first... I shall amuse myself with your pain."

She lands and you hop up onto her back. As you do, you hear another series of hooves charging towards you. A Knight of Obligation is coming towards you, his sword drawn and ready to bring you to justice while the basilica guards run down the steps.

Goldie spreads her wings and takes off, sending you into the sky and out of their reach, for now.

I'm alright. I'm sorry things are slow. I am currently attending the Magic pre-release tonight, stopped by home to grab a few things.

If I could get a tie breaker for >>376833 and >>376773 that'd be nice.

Flying to your temporary rented home that the Orzhov provided (at a fee), you land on the open platform and run inside to gather your things. Lucretia saw you with the signet---she knows now, and that means you don't have much time.

'So much for renegotiation,' you mutter, grabbing all of your belongings and shoving them into a backpack. Some money, some clothes, a few other odds and ends and you're ready to go.

As you gun back outside and get ready to climb on Goldie's back, you hear a dull roar in the distance. You look and see two large thrulls flying over the rooftops, bat-like wings pushing their brutish, musclebound forms towards you.

Hopping on her back, you take off, but they are hot in pursuit. They've been told to come after you and collect---your body or otherwise!

Holding tightly onto her reigns, you guide Goldie throughout the rooftops, pillars and gothic spires as the thrulls give chase, hollaring and crashing into statues and stones as they remain hot on your heels.

You ride as fast as you can, but these brutes, despite appearances, are as quick as they are narrow-mindedly persistent. You can almost hear them breathing as they soar after you, their meaty fists pounding along the rooftops as they fly.

As you leave Orzhov territory and aim yourself towards the center of the district, where Selesnya holds power, you manage to outpace them a bit. Soaring up high, you take them into the clouds and lose them before diving down. Looking back, however, you seem them both barrel out of the clouds and roar as they rocket towards you.

Just then, a call is heard throughout the air. A horn! And from the northwest, from the green spires of the Conclave, come riders! Equenauts! A whole wing of them!

The pegasus-riding warriors head straight for you, and when you dive, they go overhead, charging at the thrulls. They spear them out of the sky with arrows and lances, sending them hurtling down to the streets below.

You let out a cheer as your fellow equenauts take up position behind you. Goldie rides on, neighing loudly as you reach the safety of the Conclave's towers.

>A) Return to Vylindara's side
>B) Follow the equenauts to the sky stable
>C) Immediately land and hide Goldie somewhere safe
>D) Seek guidance from the highest-ranking member of the Conclave in this district
