Season 1 Synopsis: http://pastebin.com/HWn9pUa0

Welcome back to WrestleQuest! This is a SOL Quest in which you take the role of young Robin Winters, as he tries to make it big in the crazy world of pro-wrestling under the persona of The Ace.

Last thread, you learned more about the other Make an Impact contestants. You also recorded a video promo, and met with James Daniels, your mentor's former tag team partner, and a man who may want to sabotage your efforts towards success.

Jessica Storm

“My name is Jessica Storm, and to put it simply, I'm the best in the universe. That might sound cocky, but I'm just being honest. I pool every single moment of every single day into being the best at this. Make no mistake, people. I am ruthless, and I will do whatever it takes to win.”

“My wrestling style is quite technical, I was trained in a very technical style, but at the end of the day, I'm all about striking. It's my personal philosophy that it doesn't matter what fancy flips you can do, what cool holds and submissions you've learned, you get kicked in the head enough times, that's it. And I kick fast, and I kick hard. I kick you until you can't stand up anymore, then I kick you some more.”

“I can come out here and tell you about my sad childhood or brag about my heritage and lineage or who I was trained by like I'm sure a lot of people in this contest will. And I can, I can talk about how I never knew my dad, or how I was trained by Robbie Westside, a legend of the British Wrestling scene. But what does any of that matter? This isn't a happy feelgood emotional story, okay? This is a wrestling competition. That's all that matters. I'm not going to win that contract to have people say... Oh, what an inspiration, she really overcame all the odds and challenges life threw at her... no, I'm going to win that contract to make people say... Wow, she won that because she was the best, pure and simple.”

“What separates me from the other people in this contest is that I just want it more, and I'll do anything it takes to get it. I know it's a cliché on these types of shows to say it, but I'm not here to make friends. I'm here for one reason only, and that's to come out on top. It's a matter of pride.”

“So I'm keeping my introduction short and sweet. Remember the name Jessica Storm, because it's the name of a future word champion.”

Danny Gable

“Hey there! The name's 'Diamond' Danny Gable, and I'm the dude that's going to take home the gold... uh, if there is any gold involved. People would describe me as kind of a goofball, a pretty funny guy, occasionally just a tiny bit dumb... but hey, as long as it entertains people, it's good by me.”

“My wrestling style is what you'd call high-energy. I'm kind of a jack of all trades, master of none, but I know how to get a crowd amped up, and I know how to psyche out my opponent. I like to throw in a few dancing moves there, I'm a bit of a showboat that way, and it's all for the sake of keeping the crowd happy.”

“My parents were both lawyers, actually. I tried to follow in their footsteps, but it just wasn't for me. Not enough theatrics, and I couldn't get away with wearing a sweet jacket like this one in a court of law. So, instead of going to law school, I instead attended Kevin Omega's wrestling school. A lot of people would consider that the dumbest decision you could ever make, but for me, it was one of the best.”

“What seperates me from the others? Well, I'm a guy who lives to entertain. I might not be the best high-flyer in this contest, or the best brawler, or the best technical wrestler, but I live to entertain crowds. I'm a guy who loves to have fun, loves to dance, have a good time, but when it comes right down to it, I am serious and passionate about succeeding in this business.”

“I've had my fair share of self-doubts... a while ago I let some nay-sayers get into my head, I got frustrated that things weren't going as well as I had planned... I was on the verge of walking away, quitting the business... but it didn't stick. I soon realised that nothing can take me away from this. Wrestling is my passion, it fills a hole in me that nothing else can. Wrestling makes me happy, and whether I come out on top in this competition or not... I hope that I can make you happy too.”

Terry Creed

“My name is Terry Creed, and wrestling helped turn my life around. I grew up in a real bad neighbourhood, my mother passed away when I was 12... and when I turned 15, I started to fall in with a real bad crowd. I went down quite a dark path... I didn't really have anything to strive for, to live for... but then I found something that I was passionate about and that was wrestling.”

“I was quite a pudgy kid, if you can imagine it. I was pretty fat until I was 18 years old, and at that point I started to lose a lot of weight, but on a lot of muscle in order to be ring-ready. You can barely recognise me in a lot of old photos, and I'm very proud of that.”

“My in-ring style is a mix of power and athleticism. I constantly have people telling me that someone as big and a ripped as I am shouldn't be able to pull off some of the stunts I've pulled off in the ring... but I do it anyway.”

“I sometimes like to think of life as one big movie, like Rocky or something. And I seriously hope that this movie can end with me throwing my fist into the air screaming 'YO ADRIAN! I DID IT!' First I've got to win this contest... and marry a girl named Adrian. Shouldn't be too hard.”

Jenny Deth

“My name is Jenny Deth, and let's cut all the pretences here. This show is a load of crap. I'm here for the money, and I'm only barely puttin' up with everything else.”

“My upbringing is none of your business.”

“Wrestling style? There's no style to it. I just keep beating the crap out of someone until they can't get up again.”

“We done here? Good. I need a stiff drink.”

Penny Lane

“My name is Penny Lane, and I am just super excited to be here!”

“I grew up in New Orleans in a wonderful home. My parents were kind, supportive Christian parents, and I adopted a lot of their values.”

“Wrestling was... not my first career path, I have to admit. I was a model originally, but I soon got a job as a manager in a local wrestling fed, and I thought to myself... hey, this looks fun! Before long, I had stepped into the ring, and I haven't looked back since!”

“My goal for Make and Impact is simply... to have fun! I want to make as many friends as possible, and hey! Let the best competitor win!”

David Fisk

“My name is 'Kingpin' David Fisk.”

“What? More? Fine...”

“I come from a... complicated background. I fell on hard times very young, and those hard times led to me having my fair share of run-ins with the law. That's all the in the past now, and I want to put that all behind me. I'm engaged to one of the most beautiful, tough, and downright crazy women on the planet, and I'm happy to have her joining me in this contest.”

“My hope is that regardless of who wins, both myself and my future wife impress someone enough to get a contract in the future. We need the money.”

“My in-ring style... I'm a powerhouse, in case you could tell by looking at me. When you're as big as I am, you don't have to rely on fancy tricks. I step in between those ropes and I start tossing people around, slamming them and taking them apart. I never hit with the intent to injure, but I always hit with the intent to hurt.”

“There's nothing pretty about my style, but I know I'm strong enough to power my way right into the finals of this competition.”

Astro Jr. (TRANSLATED FROM SPANISH)

“My name is Astro Jr., and I am a famous luchadore in Mexico.”

“I am the direct successor to the original Astro, a legend in Mexico. He named me as the person he wanted to carry on his legacy after his retirement. His decision was not met without controversy... I've faced a lot of criticism on taking up his name. Many feel that I was unsuited for the role, that I was too young, that a girl should not take up the Astro mantle... but I have set out to prove each and every one of them wrong.”

“My in-ring style is classic lucha-libre. I fly through the air with great ease, but I am also well versed in technical and chain grappling. I also have several dangerous submissions up my sleeve.”

“I will win this competition to bring honour and glory to the Astro legacy, and to spit in the face of my critics, those who say that I am unworthy. I will show them all my true potential.”

Kimberly Cross

“Hi, my name is Kimberly Cross, and I am The Princess of professional wrestling.”

“My parents never wanted me to be a wrestler. In fact, they really wanted me to be ballerina... and I just hated it. Being the little rebel that I was, I ended up sneaking into wrestling school on days that I was supposed to be taking dancing classes. When my parents found out... it was a massacre. But I was very thankful to have friends and loved ones who would stand by my and support me through my journey to pursuing my dream.”

“I was trained by Kevin Omega, who as you can imagine, really pushed me to bring out my absolute best. He was a very unforgiving trainer... I resented him at the time, but there's no doubt that he made be better than I ever thought I could be.”

“A lot of people look at me and think, she's gorgeous. I'm not very humble when it comes to my looks. But a lot of people think that just because I look like a model, I can't be a wrestler, that I must just be there for eye-candy. Let me make this clear. I'm not a model. I am a wrestler, 100%. This is my passion, this is my life, this is what I'm best at.”

“My style is heavily technical, very sneaky, I'm not afraid to get low-down and dirty if that's what it takes to win.”

“I'm in this contest to prove myself, to prove that I'm the wrestler that I think I am. If I can impress someone, it will all be worthwhile.”

Billy Saber

“My name is Billy Saber, and I come from Kent, England.”

“I've had the immense pleasure to wrestle all over the world, in a lot of different promotions, and to represent Britain every time I step into the ring. Now, I come to Total Impact with the intent of winning this Make an Impact competition.”

“I've been called one of the finest technical wrestlers on the planet by a lot of people over the years, and it's hard to disagree. I don't hide my influences, the likes of Kevin Omega and my trainer, Robbie Westside. It's very technical, very tactical. I don't think there's a single wrestling hold I don't know my way out of... but I can always be better, and that's what I strive for here.”

“I'd like to stay humble, but I'd also like to believe that I'm the single best pure wrestler in this competition. Others may be more charismatic or bigger, I've certainly got the edge on the others in terms of pure wrestling skill.”

“I want to win this competition for my country, and to prove that I am the best. We all want to prove that, and I'm no exception.”

Angelo Da Costa

“My name is Angelo Da Costa, and I represent the country of Brazil.”

“I grew up in a very poor family, and I found myself turning to wrestling simply as a way to get by when I moved to the states. First wrestling show I ever took part in, I was paid $20 and a hotdog. I made a lot of mistakes in the past, both inside and outside of the ring. I've hurt myself in a lot of ways both unintentionally and intentionally. But I've always bounced back.”

“I am a pure high-flyer. Every time I step into the ring, I ask myself how far I can take my skills, what new thing can I do tonight to wow the crowd. I keep pushing myself to go further and further, and to pull out more and more unique moves. I feel that my style is one people will find very entertaining, and downright breathtaking.”

Nita the Huntress

“My name is Nita... the huntress.”

“I am Native American, and I am incredibly proud of my heritage. My heritage is woven into my ring gear, my personality, even my in-ring style. I want to do my people proud, and to become the first ever Native World Champion.”

“My in-ring style is all about brutality. I will target limbs, I will beat you senseless with punches and kicks, and I will suplex you until you are no longer conscious. I am a dangerous woman, no doubt about it.”

“I am going to win this competition because anyone stupid enough to stand in my way will be mowed down. Nothing can stop the Huntress.”

As you stand around a tv monitor, Proxy just having given you an advanced preview of the wrestler's introduction promos, you bite your bottom lip. You've begun to learn just a little bit more about your rival team, and while nothing your own team said was news to you, seeing it in video form with accompanying music really reminds you of how much your friends deserve to win this competition as well. Your own promo is just as you remember it, you're glad that your suspicions of Proxy tampering with it weren't correct.

“So... you never knew your dad either?” Jess mutters, standing behind you. You can sense a weird spot of empathy and concern in her voice.

“Yeah,” you shrug. “But it's not really important.”

“I know it's not important, idiot!” Jess snaps back into her usual self. “I was just asking! Geez!”

“You couldn't have said just a little more in your interview?” you ask Jenny.

Jenny simply smirks and shrugs.

Proxy stares at you for a moment. “Winters, can I speak to you for a moment?”

Winters? Oh no, she must be even more serious than usual. You step outside of the room for a moment with Proxy, as she turns to face you. Against your better judgement, you speak first. “Look, if this was about my comments on your looks or your first name last night, I'm very sorr-”

“Judging from the videos that you were presented with, who do you believe is the most likely winner of this competition?”

Huh, that isn't what you expected her to say at all.

"Gable?" Proxy asks. "Interesting choice. I imagine this decision is partly influenced by the fact that he is your close friend? And that he is on your team?"

"No, I genuinely believe he had the best interview. There were a lot of good ones, but his was the best."

"I see..." Proxy mutters. "I expected you to answer with yourself."

Huh... you hadn't even considered it. "So... that can't be what you called me out here to ask, right?"

Proxy shakes her head. "No, it is not. I was simply making what people call small talk. Come with me."

As you begin to wonder if Proxy is an actual robot or not, she leads you into her office. As she does, you notice a framed photo sitting on her desk, of a young black haired woman in a wrestling ring. "This is you?" you ask. "I didn't know you used to wrestle."

Proxy stares at you. "I did, for a time. I felt that I could not become a booker or an executive if I did not understand what the wrestlers themselves went through."

You never expected Proxy to be one to go through such a committed exercise in empathy. However, you're under the impression that said exercise did not succeed. "So, you just frame this photo on your desk to remind the wrestlers that you were like them once?"

"That is the general idea, yes."

You shrug. "Okay, what did you bring me in here for?"

"I must speak to you about James Daniels."

Oh boy, here it goes. "What about him?"

"He supplied you with alcohol last night, did he not?"

You pause. "I-"

"Jessica informed me. She also informed me that you wished it were kept secret."

You shake your head. You didn't want Jess to go to anyone about James' attempted sabotage, but you can see that she acted on her own accord.

Proxy shakes her head. "I confronted Daniels about the issue earlier. He maintained that it was a simple accident, and apologised profusely."

You nod, as you back up towards the door. "Oh well, I guess that issue is-"

"I do not believe him. Neither do you."

You let out a sigh. "He has a grudge against my mentor-"

"Kevin Omega, yes." Proxy interlocks her fingers in a professional stance. "I am well aware of their feud. A certain Owen Barnes informed me of it a... long time ago. I was concerned that James would attempt to interfere with the careers of yourself, Gable, Cross and Fisk. My fears appear to be correct. I cannot punish Daniels. He is the world champion, and his handling is determined by others... those further up in the chain of command than myself. I wish you to know, however... that I will ensure that no harm comes to you, your friends, or your reputations. I will protect you from him."

>[BOLD] Thanks. I have to admit, I didn't expect this from you.
>[KIND] Thank you, Proxy. It means a lot to hear that.

>[KIND] Thank you, Proxy. It means a lot to hear that.

"Do not thank me," Proxy explains. "You are a very valuable investment, Winters. I do not appreciate a bitter old man attempting to sabotage my investments. This is simply good business, nothing more."

You shake your head. "Yeah, but does that exclude me from being appreciative?"

"Yes. It does." Proxy stands up from her chair. "Do not thank me, Ace. I am not someone who deserves to be thanked."

"Come on, that sounds like you're being a little harsh on yourself."

"I need to be harsh," Proxy explains. "I am sure you have noticed this, but I am not an emotional being. I do not care for others, and I do not expect them to care for me. I would prefer that this remain business, which is why I do not approve of anyone who will attempt to use my real name."

"Then why don't you ever use your..." you begin to ask, but stop yourself before it comes out and you offend her once more. "Whatever. Thanks, Proxy."

She shows you the door, and you begin to wander down the hallway. The competition proper doesn't begin until tomorrow, so you've got time to wander around the building, get acquainted with your surroundings, to get in a spot of training as well.

As you round a corner, you see Jess leaning against the nearby wall, hanging up her phone. She looks upset as she hangs her head low and lets out a deep breath.

"Something wrong?" you ask.

Jess eyes you and shakes her head. "Why don't you learn to mind your own business, Ace? It's just... moms, you know? Actually, I don't know if you know."

You laugh. "Don't worry, I get it. My mom's kind of a pain, too."

Jess shakes her head again. "No dads and our mom's are pains in our asses... guess we have more in common than we thought?"

>Sorry to hear about your dad. I know how rough that is.

Jess shrugs, as you can tell that she's blushing a little. "Yeah... well... look, I didn't want to make a big deal out of it! It was a long time ago, and it's barely affected me, okay?"

"Okay," you reply, comfortingly. "I just wanted to offer condolences."

"Yeah? Well..." Jess mutters, clenching her fist tight before sighing and loosening it. "Thanks. It was pretty rough growing up without a dad."

You smile. "Tell me about it. I still have no clue who my dad even was, but my mom assures me he died a long time ago."

Jess sits down on the floor, he back still facing the wall, as you slide down next to her.

"So, what was he? Some kind of deadbeat?" Jess asks. "Mine was."

"I don't know for sure, but If I'm to believe my mom... yeah."

"I guess you struck lucky," Jess laughs. "From your interview, it sounded like you adopted Kevin Omega as your father figure. That's pretty sweet."

"Trust me, it's not," you laugh. "If you knew him any better, you would not want Omega as a father figure."

"I don't know, he'd probably still be better than what I got, which is nothing."

"Well... it isn't a contest."

Jess laughs. "Yeah, it is. And we're captains of rival teams. I should not like you as much as I do, Ace."

You chuckle. "You like me, huh? I guess we're going to get friendship bracelets now?"

Jess punches you in the arm. "Learn to silently take a compliment, you dork."

Jess picks herself off the ground and dust herself off. She takes you by the hand and helps you back to your feet as well. "Just so you know... tomorrow is when the niceness ends. I've been real kind to you so far-"

"You have?"

"-But tomorrow, we're officially in competition mode, and I'm not going to let whatever soft spot I might have for your group to stop me from getting what I want, okay?"

"Whatever you say, Jess," you chuckle. She shifts from soft to aggressive so often, that you can't tell which one is the act. Your money is on the latter, though.

"Good!" she exclaims. "But... that doesn't mean we can't hang out tonight."

>Sure, we can all have a fun night before the show starts tomorrow.

"All of us?" Jess gives a nervous smile, though you're not sure why. "Oh, I thought it could... never mind. Sure, I'll let the MCW guys know, and if you can fill in the TWA guys, we can have a hell of a night before we actually have to get to work!"

"Great! What do you have in mind?"

"How about a movie night or something?" Jess asks. "I don't know! I'll come up with something for later, trust me!"

She pats you on the back as she runs past. She seems to be in a real hurry to inform her team. Odd.

A man in a black shirt with a clipboard approaches you. "Robin Winters?"

"Yeah, that's me."

"You've got two visitors waiting outside for you."

You are lead around the back of the building, where you see security dealing with a very familiar face. "Come on, do you really have to make me wait out here? I'm Kevin fucking Omega! I'm a bigger name than anyone in that building."

"I still am under no obligation to let you inside, sir."

"Come on, it's freezing out here!"

"It's July, sir."

Kevin sees you approach, with you head buried in your hands with embarrassment, as he points you out. "There he is! There's the kid I want to see!"

"Two guests here to see you, Winters?" the security guard asks.

"Yeah, let'em in," you reply.

Omega storms into the building with a scowl on his face. "You would think their security would recognise the most critically acclaimed performer of the last 20 years! Possibly all time!"

"It's good to see you, Kevin," you sigh. "But I was told there were two visitors? Where's the othe-"

"S-surprise!" A voice cries out as you are mobbed by a hug.

"You know Abby, you have to commit to yelling it, otherwise the surprise doesn't have full effect."

>I was missing you guys already.

"You were?" Omega asks, a hint of genuine optimism in his voice. He then clears his throat and folds his arms. "I mean... whatever. I haven't missed you all that much."

Abby blushes. "That's so nice of you to say, Robin. I've missed you too."

You pull away from the hug as something dawns on you. "Wait a minute... Abby, now's a good time to talk to Proxy about getting you that job!"

"It... is is?" Abby smiles hopefully.

You nod and take her by the hand. "Of course! Come on, I'll show you to her office!"

You lead Abby by the hand as Omega reluctantly follows the two of you close behind. You knock on her door and she beckons for you to enter. Proxy catches a glimpse of the three of you as you walk into her office. She turns her head to face Omega. "Ace. I see you have brought royalty with you."

She then turns her head to face Abby. "And you are also here. Hello again."

"H-hi..." Abby mutters, retreating a little behind you, her firing at Proxy's hands still fresh in her mind. He pull Abby in front of you, and give her a little push forward, nudging her towards confronting the executive.

"Miss Proxy..." Abby begins, taking a deep breath. "I request the opportunity to work with Total Impact. Even if it's unpaid temp work, I want to be a part of this company!"

Abby's eyes widen, unsure of how she managed to get all of that out. Proxy stares at her, her expression unchanging, before nodding. "I see... I appreciate your boldness to step into my office and ask for a job. I could also make use of an assistant during the running of Make an Impact..."

"Oh, thank you!" Abby exclaims, "That would mean so much to-"

"You did not let me finish," Proxy states. "I would be willing to offer you the position as my assistant, on the condition that I receive something in return."

"And what is that?" you ask.

"I would like for Kevin Omega to conduct a brief sit-down interview with us, one which we can use in video packages of the competition."

"What?" Kevin exclaims. "No way! I want no part of this stinking reality show. Besides... I don't want to appear on any wrestling show in any capacity for the rest of my life."

You sigh. "Come on, Kevin! Do it for Abby!"

"Who the hell is Abby?" Omega fires back. "I'm not friends with this kid, I didn't train her! I don't care about her!"

"Y-you don't?" Abby mumbles. She must have had a different impression, or maybe she's just upset that she's being denied a job by a bitter retiree, but she's close to tears.

>Typical. You'll take away a girl's dream because you're too stubborn to do one little interview? Come on, Kevin.

"You've met me before, right?" Kevin asks. "That's exactly the kind of thing I'd do! In fact, that's right up my alley!"

"Kevin, please. You know how much this would mean to Abby."

"Yeah, and I also don't care. Sorry, kiddo. I'm not selling myself out like this."

Abby approaches Kevin, and places her hands on his shoulders. "P-please, Mr. Omega... please do this for me."

Kevin shakes his head. "No, I'm not doing it!"

Abby wraps her arms tight around Kevin's waist, and clings tightly to him. She presses her head against his chest. "Please, Mr. Omega! I need this! I thought we were friends!"

Kevin sighs, as he slowly tries to peel Abby off of him, but she clings to tight. She's desperate for work. "Look kid, I'm real sorry, but I just can't. I can't bring myself to be involved with a wrestling show again."

"I know how difficult it is, but you have to do this for me! Please Kevin..."

"Dammit kid, don't make this harder for me!" Kevin scowls as he moves to exit the room, a crying Abby clinging to him with every step. She eventually falls to the floor and lets herself be dragged along as she holds tightly to his foot. A truly pitiful sight, it makes you sad just watching it.

You shake your head, as you turn to Proxy. "Look, I know Kevin, and he isn't going to do that sit-down interview. Can you please give Abby something anyway? It doesn't have to be the assistant position, just-"

"Very well."

You're taken aback. "Wow, really?"

Proxy nods. "Yes, I can place her in the make-up department. She should be able to handle that."

"I... wow, thank you, Proxy."

"Do not say I have no sympathy," Proxy states. "Sometimes, I can spare some pity on a poor girl like her. You should probably check on them. They are making a scene in the hallway."

"PLEASE MR. OMEGA! WHY DON'T YOU CARE ABOUT ME?!" Abby screeches through tears as she clings to Omega's leg.

"Dammit, Kid! Pick yourself up! You're making yourself look like and idiot!"

Abby climbs to her knees and hugs tightly into Omega's hip. "Please, I'm begging you. I'll repay you someday, I promise!"

"Well, well, look what we have here!"

Oh... fuck.

Omega's head turns slowly, as he immediately recognises the southern voice.

"Who's the lassy, Kevin?" James laughs. "She your new wife? You know you can't have her felate you in public like this, right?"

Kevin's fist clenches into a tight ball.

>I suggest you move on, Daniels. You don't want to start a fight here.

James burst into laughter. "Oh, Ace! I see you don't have much faith in me! Don't worry, I'm a professional. Just because I hate this man with all my being doesn't mean I'm going to turn into a rabid animal whenever I see him! And Kevin, I'm sure you're the same. Unless you're drunk, which is always a possibility."

"Go fuck yourself, James."

Daniels chuckles. "Oh, you're the same stubborn ass you always were. Good meeting you, old friend. I'm going to move on before more of a scene is caused, but I have to ask... does he know?"

"Does who know?" you ask.

James smirks. "I'll take that as a no, then. Oh well, see you soon, Ace. And girly, you can do much better than Kevin here."

As James walks off, Abby loosens her grip on Omega. You approach from behind and place your hands on her shoulders before she ends up begging more. "It's okay, Abby. You've got a job in make-up."

"I... I do?" Abby smiles. "Oh, thank you, Robin!"

She hugs you close and kisses you on the cheek. You can only stare at Omega, who in turn is staring at his old partner as he walks down the hall. "He was talking about me, right?" you ask. "What don't I know, Kevin? Are you hiding something from me?"

"What?" Omega asks. "Of course not! That's just one of James' old tricks to make people feel paranoid. I actually taught him that one, the bastard!"

Omega sighs. "Anyway, I can tell this place is not good for me... I'm going to take off. Hey kid..."

Abby turns around to face him.

"I'm sorry I wouldn't get you that job."

"It's okay... I understand..." Abby nods, wiping her eyes. "B-but you do care about me, right Mr. Omega?"

Kevin smiles as he places a hand on her shoulder. "Not at all."

He walks off as Abby bites her bottom lip. "I don't know what I expected..."

"It's fine," you reply, "Kevin's clearly in a bad mood because of Daniels."

"But still, you got me a job!" Abby cheers. "Now I have my foot in the door, and I'll still be able to see you every day!"

>You know Abby, the contestants are going to have a fun night before the show begins. You'll be more than welcome to join.

Abby's face lights up with excitement. "You mean it? That would be amazing! Are... are you sure it's okay?"

"Of course!" you reply. "I mean, you've got the endorsement of the entire TWA team, and Jess loves you! You'll be perfectly welcome!"

Abby pumps her fist with excitement. "Okay! B-but first, I should probably talk to Miss Proxy, find out what my job actually is..."

As Abby makes her way into Proxy's office, you begin to wander around the building. Your thoughts turn to what Daniels said to Omega, and what Omega said to cover it. It is just mind-tricks on Daniels' part... right? Omega's hidden stuff from you in the past, but there's nothing he would lie to you about these days... is there?

"Hey, new guy! Move out of the way!"

A pair of wrestlers bound past you, almost knocking you over. You recognise them as The American Tigers, the Total Impact Tag Team Champions. They seem to be in a rush, and don't stop to chat. But their interruption manged to break your train of thought. All the better, probably. The further you try to go down the rabbit hole of Omega's past, present and future misdoings, the less prepared you'll be for the coming challenges. On the subject of Omega's misdoings, your phone buzzes, as you see a text has been left for you by Patty.

>From: Patty

>Astro Jr.

You got off on the wrong foot with Astro Jr. when you first met, as a comment made during your argument with Proxy on why you should keep your mask was rightfully construed as an insult to her lineage. After seeing her promo, and how much she wants to live to that lineage, you can see why she got upset with you. Still, you aren't going to let it be that way, you can clear up this tension and animosity, no problem... probably.

You make your way over to the MCW team's room. You collect your thoughts, trying to figure out what to say to make things right with the luchadora, as you open the door.

And then you immediately shut it as you catch a glimpse of Penny and Jess dressed down to their underwear.

"Oh god! I'm so sorry!" You yell from the other end of the door, your eyes shut tight.

"What the hell, Ace?! Learn to knock next time!" Jess' voice calls out from the other end. "We're changing in here!"

You shake your head in embarrassment. How does stuff like this always happen to you? You sigh and turn around, only to bump into a masked woman. You stumble back, as she gets angry.

"Hey perro, watch where you go!"

Her English still isn't perfect. "Sorry about that," you reply, scratching the back of your head. "I actually came over to apologise to you."

Astro tilts her head. "Apologise?"

"Yes, for how I offended you when we first met," you explain. "Believe me, I am very sorry for what I said."

Astro Jr. folds her arms. "Why?"

"Excuse me?" you ask.

"Why are you sorry?" Astro asks. "My father teach me that... unless they have reason, they are not sorry. Why are you sorry?"

>Because I know the importance of the Astro name, and it wasn't my right to disrespect it.

Astro pokes you in the shoulder hard. "You're right! It was not your right! You disrespect my legacy, and you insult me!"

"Yes, I know," you admit. "And I'm very so for that. Can you forgive me?"

Astro stares at you. "Maybe."

"Maybe?"

"I not decided yet."

"Well, give it all the time you need."

Astro uncrosses her arms. "You are not from Mexico."

You're not sure if she's saying this as an insult, or just a simple statement. "No, I'm not."

"But you still wear mask."

"Yeah... I do."

"I saw your video," she states.

"Oh... what did you think?"

"It was... good. I am not angry at you for wearing mask. I understand your reasons."

You nod. "Well, thank you, I-"

"I do not agree with them."

"Oh."

Astro takes a folding chair from a stack. She folds it out and sits down outside the MCW room. She invites you to do the same, and you do. "They are changing inside," she states. "The other girls. I hope you don't enter."

"Actually, I already did, accidentally," you admit.

Astro gives a small chuckle. "How..." she struggles to find the right word, "Stupid of you."

"You weren't changing with them?" you ask. You regret asking almost immediately, worried that you might sound as if you wanted to walk in on her.

"No," Astro explains. "I have own place to change. Just for me. You see, I never take off mask in public. It is tradition. None should see my face. A tradition you do not follow."

"Yes..." you mutter. "I'm sorry for that, too."

"It is okay. Must admit, it is nice to see your face. You are very handsome."

"Thank you," you reply. For some reason, you find yourself speaking in short respectful statements. Perhaps she just commands respect, or perhaps you're just trying to avoid inadvertently insulting her.

"I am sure you wonder what my real face looks like."

>That mask is your real face, isn't it?

Astro chuckles to herself. "Very good."

She stands up from her chair as she continues to speak. "Everyone is treating me with respect... respect I do not have back in Mexico. I wonder why."

"Well, you've been doing this longer than anyone else in the competition, haven't you?"

Astro nods. "Yes. I have wrestled since I was fourteen. I am twenty eight now. I have wrestled half my life."

You smile. That's an incredible feat.

"And yet..." Astro sighs. "I am told that I don't deserve this mask. That I don't deserve this honour. Well... I will show them, won't I?"

With that, she opens the door to the room slightly and squeezes through it, likely under the impressions that you would try to peek inside otherwise. You're not some kind of pervert, and besides, the girl's are likely done changing after your conversation with Astro.

"Yo Ace, there you are!" Danny's voice calls out. "I've been trying to find you all over!"

You turn to see him marching up towards you. "The most amazing thing happened last night!" he exclaims.

"Oh, and what's that?" you ask, feigning ignorance.

"You won't believe it! Kimberly took me aside, and she said she liked me! And she asked if I would be interested in going out sometime after the show is done!"

"Wow, and what happened next?" you ask.

"Well, I told her that I'd love to, that I've always had a thing for her. Next thing I know, she's leaning in for a kiss... of course, I declined."

"Wait... what?" you ask. "Why did you decline?"

"Dude, this is Kimberly! I've only been obsessed with her since I was sixteen! First kiss has to be special, and I have to feel like I've earned it."

"Thanks dude," Danny smiles. "You know, I've been into Kimberly for so long, I'm still pretty dumbfounded that she was the one who made the first move. I wasn't even sure if she was interested in me or not!"

"And just what are you two talking about?" Kimberly smirks as she approaches from behind and drapes her arms over Danny. "It wouldn't happen to be about a certain beautiful princess of wrestling, would it?"

"It might..." Danny gives a wide smile. "By the way Ace, I'm guessing you're out here because of the movie night thing?"

"What?" you ask. "That's now? Also... I didn't tell you about it yet."

"Yeah, Jess told us instead," Kimberly laughs. "She said she figured that you'd forget. She's only known you a couple of days and she's already predicting your movements. That's the mind of a shrewd competitor at play!"

"In my defence," you protest, "I was a little busy. Abby and Omega visited, and I reasoned with Proxy to give Abby a job."

"Omega was here?" Kimberly asks. "Why didn't he visit the rest of us?"

"He would've, but he left as soon as James Daniels showed up," you explain.

"Yikes. Was it bad?"

"It was... tense."

"Well, at least they didn't beat each-other up... right?"

You nod. "Yeah, it never came to blows. It could have, though."

"That's a relief," Danny sighs. "If we thought Daniels hated us before... anyway, let's go inside, and get this movie night started!"

"W-wait for me!"

You turn to see Abby bounding down the hallway, in her usual clumsy fashion.

The four of you enter the room, and as soon as she is spotted by Jess, Abby is subject to an excited squeal. "Oh my god, it's Abby!" Jess exclaims as she runs up, mobbing Abby with a hug. "You look great! Wait, what are you doing here?"

"I-I work in make-up now," Abby explains.

"That's awesome!" Jess yells. If only she were this sweet and kind around anyone else. "Everyone, this is my good friend Abby. She's in a band, and she's kinda shy, but she's super cool! Make her feel welcome, okay!"

As Jess commands her crew, Danny leans in to you, looking over at Jess and Abby. "Isn't it funny how much they get along? The past and the future of your love live!"

You let out a sigh, but don't bother challenging Danny on his comment. He's not going to listen anyway. As the others take their places on the bed facing the television in the MCW room, you find yourself unsure of who to sit with.

>I'll sit by myself and wait for the others to come.

You move towards a bed removed from the others and sit yourself down. As you do, Jess raises an eyebrow. "What's the matter, Ace. Being a moody teen and you don't want to sit with the cool kids?"

You shake your head. "I'm just considering the guys who haven't arrived yet."

"To be honest dude, it just looks like you don't want to sit with us?"

"Like I said, moody teen!"

Penny gasps. "Oh, Ace! Are you moody? Are you sad?"

"What? No!"

"But I saw your video!" Penny exclaims. "You sounded very sad in it. And growing up without a father? I felt so bad for you!"

You place your head in your hands. "It's really not a big deal."

"That's what Jess said!" Penny answers back. "I tried to give her a hug too, but she wouldn't let me! Oh, you poor thing!"

You've never thought of yourself as a 'poor thing' before, and while her concern is charming, it's also quite grating. Jess pops to her feet and grabs the case of a dvd. "I'm sure you're all wondering what movie I have selected for tonight! Well, how many of you are familiar with the UPW produced buddy cop movie by the name of Hard Streets?"

Oh boy, that's a name you haven't heard in a while.

"For those of you who don't know, Hard Streets is possibly one of the worst cop movies ever made!" Jess exclaims. "And it stars none other than a certain Kevin Omega."

You cringe with embarrassment.

"Omega hates this movie even more than he does James Daniels," you state. "He hates it even more than he does The Carpenters."

"Why does he hate The Carpenters?" Penny asks. "I think they're great!"

"We don't know," you shrug.

"When we trained with him, he put out an explicit ban on this movie," Kimberly adds. "One time I brought the movie to the dojo with me. He spent the next thirty minutes building a makeshift stake that he proceeded to burn it at."

"This is the greatest movie ever made," Danny concludes.

"Excellent!" Jess exclaims, as she pops the dvd into the player. As the ads begin, Penny makes her way over to you, and in a shocking display, decides not to sit next to you, behind you, or in front of you. Instead, she plants herself right on your knee.

"Uhh... what are you doing?" you ask.

"I didn't want you to sit by yourself! You looked lonely!"

>Okay, but do you mind getting off me?

Penny looks at you, then looks down at where she's sitting. "Oh yeah, of course! Silly me!"

She hops off of your lap, as you notice Jess giving her an intense stare, and Abby giving her a nervous glance. It's strange that you honestly have no idea if Penny was flirting with you, or she was genuinely that absent minded. As the movie begins, the door creaks open and you are soon joined by Terry, Billy and Angelo.

Terry sits on the other side of you, as Penny leans her head against your shoulder and hugs into your arm. Damn, she is very touchy-feely.

"Sorry we're late," Terry smiles, "We just got caught up in training. Hey, is this Hard Streets? I love this movie!"

"To be honest," Billy states, "As much as I've heard about this movie, I haven't seen it. I know Kevin Omega's in it. He's bound to be a good actor, right?"

"Trust me, not even Pacino could make this script good," you reply.

The movie begins by getting right into the action, with a poorly paced car chase scene where you're introduced to Kevin Omega's character, Jason Hard. Shortly after that you're introduced to his partner, named wait for it... Tommy Street. Hence the name Hard Streets. Played by fellow UPW star Mr. Mystery. Amazing wrestler, terrible actor.

"In Mexico, Luchadores star in countless film," Astro explains. "All of them better than what they give Mr. Mystery. A disgrace to his talent."

All throughout to movie, Omega speaks in a ridiculously gravelly voice. According to Kevin, the director insisted that it gave him the vibe of a tough, no-nonsense cop. It didn't, and Kevin also said doing the voice leaves his throat raw for weeks afterwards.

"I feel like nobody's addressing the elephant in the room," Jess notes. "Why does nobody in this movie acknowledge that one of the cops is wearing a luchadore mask? It would be the first thing I'd notice!"

"Apparently the role was meant for another UPW guy, but they cancelled at the last minute," you explain. "No changes were made to the script."

Man, you forgot how much you love this movie. Seeing Kevin Omega in such a goofy flick is also a mood-brightener for you. Plus, the movie itself is a no-holds-barred thrill ride from beginning to end... according to the DVD case, at least.

As the movie comes to it's climactic fight scene, Jess is barely containing herself from bouncing up and down on the bed. "Oh, here it comes, my favourite line..."

Omega's character pulls the trigger on his gun, points it at the villain, and in the most over-the-top delivery imaginable, screams; "RAMIREEEEZ, IT'S OOOOOOVER! THIS IS THE FINAL DELETIOOOON!"
>>
The whole room bursts into laughter. "Oh, that is amazing!" Terry slaps his knee. "That had to be on purpose!"

"I think it was," you state. "By that stage of production, Omega had given up and was just doing whatever he wanted."

"Also, terrible movie aside, can we talk about how handsome Omega is in this thing?" Jess asks. "I mean, wow. I feel 2004 was peak attractiveness for the guy."

"Let's not talk about that," Kimberly shakes her head. "At all. Ew. Weird. Gross."

The movie ends with Omega and Mystery's characters walking off into the sunset together, their arms draped over the others shoulders.

"Not gonna lie, that ending was very homoerotic," Billy states. "Like, the way it was shot, I fully believe that implication was that Hard and Street became a couple after this, right?"

You shrug. "Who knows? The entire movie was bonkers."

"Why did nobody mention the mask?" Jess repeats. "The whole movie! Nobody questions it!"

"Well, now that the movie's over... what now?" Danny asks.

>We go to bed. Got a big day tomorrow.
>I guess we can afford to chat for a while longer. Not like we have a curfew or anything.

Why not, am I right?
Also, I feel like Penny is genuinely absent minded.

>I guess we can afford to chat for a while longer. Not like we have a curfew or anything.

"We don't?" Danny exclaims. "Awesome! Still... I think I will head to bed. I don't want to be tired tomorrow morning."

"Yeah, me neither," Kimberly adds, taking Danny by the hand and leading him towards the door. "Though I just realised... David and Jenny didn't come to the movie night, did they?"

"They probably relished the chance to get the room to themselves."

"Wait, but that means..." Kimberly mutters. "Oh, they better not be doing what I think they're doing! Don't they know there's cameras?!"

Kimberly rushes out of the room, with Danny in tow.

"I want to sleep as well," Nita states, as she approaches you. All of you move, you're on my bed.

You, Penny and Terry stand up, as Nita removes her shirt, revealing a brown bra. "Uhh, aren't you-"

"I don't think she cares," Jess states.

Nita shoves past you as she places herself under the covers of the bed. Soon, others begin to head off to bed, and soon, you, Jess and Abby are the only ones still up. You chat for a while, but Abby soon stands up from Jess' bed. "I'm sorry, I should probably get going..." Abby mutters. "I have to drive back to my place, and then drive here again in the morning... but I'll see you two tomorrow, okay?"

"Goodnight Abby," you smile as you hug her tight. Jess proceeds to hug her even tighter, as if it were a contest. The two of you walk Abby to the door, and step out into the hallway so as not to wake the others while you talk.

"And then there were two..." Jess smirks.

"Are you sure you don't want to get to sleep?" you ask.

Jess shrugs. "Nah, I never have a problem waking up in the morning. I'm always alert. I can chat for a little while longer."

"Okay..." you mutter, what about.

"How long did you and Abby date?"

You sigh. Of course this was going to be brought up. "It was only two dates."

Jess nods. "I see, and you dated the Princess for..."

Your eyes widen. "How did you-"

"I have my sneaky ways, Ace!" Jess smirks. "Mainly your friend Danny. Boy, he just cannot keep his mouth shut, can he?"

It's true, Danny is absolutely terrible at keeping secrets. "We dated for... a little while longer than that."

"Yeah..." Jess nods, placing a finger to her chin. "And when was it that you kissed Kim while you were still dating Abby, then dumped her, breaking her heart into a million pieces?"

"Dammit, Danny..." you sigh.

Jess smirks and crosses her arms triumphantly. "Man, you aren't the perfect little boyscout you make yourself out to be, are you?"

>[BOLD 4/4] What's the matter with you? Are you taking joy out of digging up dirt on me? Do you think this will psyche me out in the contest or something?

"Why Ace, are you flirting with me?" Jess folds her arms and smiles coyly.

You can't help but develop a little bit of a smirk as you speak. "Maybe I am."

Jess chuckles as she steps up to you. "Well, surely you aren't, because not even you can be that mind-numbingly stupid!"

"I... what?"

"Are you serious, Ace?" Jess squints her eyes at you. "Were you really trying to hit on me right after I relayed the story of you hitting on a girl? You know, I have to admit that you were starting to get to me. You were a nice guy, and I started feeling a little guilty... but this makes me feel pretty okay with blasting your ass into space during this contest."

"Jess, I was just trying to tease you, I wasn't really trying to flir-"

"My last boyfriend cheated on me," Jess states. "Well... I say boyfriend. He was actually my fiancee."

"Oh..." you mutter. "Jess, I'm so sorry to hear that."

"Yeah, well I know what he did is a lot worse than what you did. Abby wasn't even really your girlfriend... but betraying someones trust like that-"

"-Was a mistake," you complete. "One I've spent every minute since making amends for. I don't need someone else hanging that over my head."

Jess huffs. "Well either way, a lot of this show boils down to a popularity contest, and I just so happen to have a few titbits of your recent life that put you in a not-so-favourable light."

You chuckle. "Come on, Jess. You're not actually going to air people's dirty laundry out on tv, are you? I know you, and you're not going to do that."

"Excuse me?" Jess mutters. "You know me? We talk a little over a few days and suddenly you know me? What, because we're both wrestlers? Because we both don't have dads, you think we're the same? That you understand me?"

"Jess, I-"

"You don't know me at all," Jess interrupts. "Stop acting like you're this amazing people person who comes along and has an instant connection with everyone. The only people you've managed to snare into your own little cult of personality is all your old training buddies, a girl too anxious to oppose anyone, and a drunk!"

"And what have you got?" you snap back, instantly regretting it when you do.
>>
Jess bites her bottom lip. "My point is that you've bought too much into your own bullshit, Ace. You think we're buddies, all because we had a couple moments together? I'm sure you bet you had a shot at me too, right? You were thinking that I could be another notch on your bedpost, just like the other girls you met who weren't already nailed down. Get it through your thick skull, Ace. I don't like you. We aren't friends, we are rivals. This is a contest, and I will do anything to win this. I NEED to win this, and I'm not going to let you stand in the way or hold me down. Did you think we'd just hold hands and sing songs together until the finals, where you come out on top, but I'm so happy and proud of you that we embrace right there on the stage and start making out like the end of a stupid romance movie?"

She's going off on you even worse than before. So much worse, in fact. It's telling that the competition proper begin tomorrow morning. "Jess, I didn't think any of that. Please, calm down and-"

"You want your stupid romance movie kiss?" Jess yells back. "Well, have this."

Jess places her hands on the sides of your face and pulls you in, planting a long, angry, aggressive kiss onto your lips.

"Jess... what was that?"

"That my fellow fatherless friend, was the kiss of death," Jess replies, puckering her lips. "Tomorrow, we're going to war."

That's all for tonight! Thanks for playing! Let me know what you think!

Confirmation that we should really just make Robin Asexual, forever. Until we move amfar enough away that we don't know anyone, idiots like me should stop choosing to flirt, ever.

We still have our friends, all we did was upset one person who was never really that friendly to us in the first place.

We really need to get people to forget that one bad decision that we made. (I still curse the bastards that made that decision.)

>Player Question
Jess just made her declaration of war. What are your predictions for her?
>>
>>354915

Will try to screw us over, and in doing so, make us the most popular pair on the show, no matter how we may try to tank our ratings.
>>
>>354914
Which one? The one all that time ago or this one now?

>>354915
I'd say Jess tries to use that stuff against us, but it just makes us more interesting in the competition, making us do better. Then we get testimony from Danny, David, and Jenny about how much we actually helped them all, even if we made one big mistake
>>
>>354915
>PQ
That all our rolls for her will most likely be really shitty and Ace'll dig a hole so large you could find an aircraft carrier into it?
>>
>>354915
I am not sure what to expect really, all I know is that she's going to be the true thorn in our side.

Maybe one day it'll be better. But it won't be for a long while.

The only other thing I know, is that if we are in the final four, Jess will he too. Its a given now.

I actually quite like the tounge lashing we got, even if its not quite 100% accurate. She's basically saying all the things that we know. Its not going to he easy making freinds with MWA, and we've been too quick to judge.

Then again, maybe we're doing better than expected with the others. Who knows? All I know is that this will he a long, hard fought season. We'll have to do what we can to gain friends post this show.
>>
Three thoughts after reading through:

MWA as a whole will hate us now, because Jess will tell them the things that happened, and probably some lies. I bet even Penny will be upset. That'll be fun.

What I'm really looking forward to is our inevitable mask v mask match with Astro.

If anyone makes a vote for flirt again during this season, they need to remember to punch themselves in the mouth, because they're making Ace stick his foot in his.
>>
>>354915
My question is, when do you think you will continue DGA?
>>
>>355663
I voted flirt at the end because the other one already had a bunch of bad rolls on it and booker only takes the top three. I figured a high roll in flirt and a really low roll in bold were equally bad
>>
>>355663
Ace flirting is consistently the worst possible outcome. We're still supposed to be taking a break from romance, but every thread someone decides to flirt. It's gonna end up getting us killed.
>>
>>355739
thats not how the rolls work
its the first 3 in general, not the first 3 on a vote
>>
>>354915
The worst thing is, Jess absolutely has a point.
>>
>>355747
So the game is entirely dictated by the first three people to post? Because you can look at the vote for
>>354682
and clearly see that that isn't the case
>>
>>355852
no its the first three rolls.
It doesnt matter what the voters rolled for, just what the rolls are.
>>
>>355856
Also clearly false as our skill levels give modifiers to the rolls. Booker takes the highest roll from the first three rolls for a specific vote. Otherwise his post could just roll 3d20 and give us the choice of what to do, because why have us roll?
>>
>>355871
Player interaction? It makes things more interesting, I guess. I think he should probably just have us roll after the vote, like most OP's do, but that's not my call.
