Now with themesong!

Previously you had a talk with Freyja and Ay'ia about the morality of killing and why you need something as dangerous as the Vapor Cannon to act as a deterrent. She trusts you to not be blood thirsty, but the old adage "power corrupts" rings true as ever.

Afterward you joined Tabby in her practice and lessons from her twin tutors. After some boring literature and getting your ass kicked for a while, you met with Ruul and discussed the opposite spectrum of what you did with Freyja: it's a giant weapon of mass destruction. What's the point of having it if you never get to use it? Plus Ruul's getting bored with sedentary life. He wants excitement and you're inclined to find something for him before he starts finding it himself. You agreed to let him fix up the clockwork knight, but that'll only keep him entertained for so long...

The day nearly gone, the sun almost completely vanished behind the horizon now. Still no sign of Wong or any kind of message from him. Today is supposed to be the day he was going to let you know about his findings...maybe he's just running a little late? Or maybe he doesn't have anything yet? You could go check on him, but the last time you went he got pissed...

Should you check on Wong again?

>Go see Wong (who do you bring?)
>It's fine for now, maybe he'll be by later in the night or early tomorrow. (What do you do instead?)

You better not move PQ to /qst/ or I'll be slightly annoyed.

Pandora is staying right where she is, anon.

Ok that's good. I'll need to go find something else to be pointlessly annoyed at.

AM, your intention is to get new players from qst.....but your choice is structured such that anybody who wants to vote would need to read all the archives.

I am sensing conflicting methods here.

You realize that, as your crew grows, you have spent a shockingly small amount of time getting to know them and learning about the people who run your ship. You need a bit of social lubricant and what better than food? You make a quick announcement to meet in the mess hall for a "communal meal" and only have to stop a few times to explain to some of your extraspecies bodies what "communal" means. They're learning, bless them.

The turnout is a lot better than you expected, with the hall bustling and full of noisy men and women chattering about this and that. Some of them haven't even met one another yet due to the sheer number of them and size of your vessel. There are some awkward exchanges here and there, but for the most part it's civil and friendly.

Then they notice you. There are cheers from many of the former E.L.F.s, chants of "U'wah" and "I am Isaac" that further confuse the human crew, but before long they get into the swing of things and everyone is doing it now. Glasses are raised, applause fills the room, but it dies out as everyone looks to you expectantly. You brought them all here, clearly there must be something you wish to tell them, right?

You hold up your hands, waving off all the excitement, apologizing to your men. Speeches aren't really your thing. Odds are you'd just end up saying something stupid or getting the ELFs to believe something wrong again. Besides, the food looks pretty damn good this time. Devith and the cooks have really put out a hell of a spread. Perhaps picking him up was a better move than you thought.

The night goes on fairly well, with things getting more jovial as time passes (with a liberal application of alcohol helping). There are a number of people laughing and singing, clapping, telling sharing stories and even a few embarrassing disrobing moments from some of the more inebriated crew. The twins never leave your side and avoid from partaking in more than a single glass of libations, Ruul is completely plastered and attempting to goad people into pushing a button on a small, spherical device that Wella keeps trying to take from him, Tabby is with her fellow freed slave girls having a cheery discussion as the red blush of one too many creeps across their faces and Christoph is playing a jaunty tune.

You don't see Freyja anywhere, unsure if her species even drinks. Ay'ia is most likely in her faux forest up top. It dawns on you that her mysterious "gift" to you should be ready by now if what she said was true. You still have no idea what it could be, but you know what they say about horses and mouths. Maybe you could slip out to check on her? Though things are getting pretty exciting in here. You're not sure if you should leave in case something happens that requires your attention.

>Slip out and check on Ay'ia
>Stay here for now, who knows what might happen?
>Go find Freyja, she might be lonely

Man the ID thing is handy. I read that and was confused as to what you were changing it to, but then I remembered that's a thing. Neat.

You carefully sneak your way out of the mess hall while everyone else is preoccupied by a ruckus happening near the back. You even manage to give Rei and Kei the slip. You appreciate their diligence and loyalty, but you'd like some privacy sometimes.

You move through the halls looking for the rather hard to miss Tul woman and eventually find her with her daughter in an unused room one deck below the mess hall. She's hugging a very confused Lisa tightly. You notice there are some kind of weird, sparkly lights around her face right now. Her face is contorted in a tight look of sorrow as the lights dance around her head, floating like fireflies in the night air. Is Freyja crying? The tension is broken by the little girl suddenly pointing to you and shouting.

"Isaac!" the half-Tul girl says gleefully.

Freyja suddenly bolts upright and looks toward you, her dark eyes going wide as a sharp intake of breath lets you know she wasn't expecting to be found.

"Isaac!" she half-shouts, wiping her face with a free hand as the twinkling little particles begin to flicker out slowly. "What are you-I thought you'd be in the mess! I was just..." she's at a loss for words.
