Premise: You are in control of the Counsel State of Valornia, and it is your job to do whatever you see fit. Suggest something political, inventive, cultural and/or military inclined and it will be done- as long as its within the boundaries of the time-frame. Every 40 rounds is a year.

How to Participate: Feel free to join in anytime and give a suggestion. It can political, militaristic, cultural, financial, inventive or just be plain creative (i.e build a monument and gift it to another nation for better relations.). I've decided that a player may assume control of a ministry and do what's best in your mind for your position but only if you ask me first.
Events may happen randomly.

Recap:
- Magnus Řeznicek, the first ruler of Valornia has died and his son, Oliver, has taken over his mantle but created tension in the nation over the blatant nepotism.
- The Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Interior Affairs have been both created and are lead by Mikoláš Kadlec (Shinx) and Drahoslava Moravec (Purrloin) respectively.
- You've discovered the rest of Rulona, the continent to the east and found it quite large.
- You found out how to make KEROSENE.
- You're a few inventions away from Steam Power.

First post and I fuck up immediately. Why bother trying sometimes.

Here's a current map of the Haven Isles and Rulona.
>>
>>298711
Didn't we integrate the Butterfree already?
Anyway, breed more Skorupi and Yanma, and improve relations with the Vulpix.
>>
>>298711
That we did but the map is a pain to edit so I'll leave for now.

---
You breed more Skorupi and Yanma, increasing the pops by 30 and improve relations with the Vulpix by +35.
>>
>>298875
Are there any neutral civs on the bigger island?
Also, did we finish the officer training center?
-set up dojos and promote martial arts, civilian and military
-research water farming (oysters, clams, fish, kelp, etc.)
-construct an artificial bay in our main port, with cement
>>
>>298906
On Haven Island? I can firmly tell you that the kingdoms that the Venomoth and the Maractus populate are neutral to either side.

Training center is done on two rounds.

You research water farming. It will take 3 rounds.

You start to construct an artificial bay in Chrabrost. It will take 25 rounds.
>>
>>298934
Have the Buterfree vite on a Buttxit, then ignore it
>>
>>298934
-send an envoy to each to improve relations and ask them if they are willing to trade
>which forces are the two sides, I know there's the north and south and the north doesn't like ghost types, which nations are sympathetic/have a large pop of them?
>>
>coalburning

Well if we're fucking sneasal anyway, I guess we might as well start

>>298964
Sadly, as a meritocracy like Valornia the butts don't have much sway considering their past.

>>298965
This map will help in that regard. Blue is against Originists that wish to conquer and most likely kill all the Dark and Ghost types.

Red is kingdoms and duchies of those respective types, more or less in defending positions than anything.

Grey is neutral.

You send an envoy to the nations you know of on Haven and improve relations by +35.

>>298977
You already have this.

Also >coalburning

I'm fairly sure if Pokemon go at it, the offspring will always be the female's species. No mixed anything in this world, just egg moves.
>>
>>299035
-approach the red kingdoms and the neutrals proposing a forming of a pro-dark/ghost coalition
-research gears
-survey the kingdoms of the mainland for their views on dark/ghost types
>I know at least one of them is ruled by ghost types
>>
>>299131
You start to research gears. It will take 13 rounds.

You start to explore the mainland to see their views on dark and/or ghost types. This will be done until all kingdoms on Rulona are cataloged.
---

You approach the respective kingdoms on Haven Island that are against Zureis and its faction with a proposal, you want to start a faction against Zureis. This is the moment Markus II, the duke of Belvin, has been waiting for.

"It seems that Valornia is ready to fight Zureis I see? I guess its the fact they strong-armed you and forced the use of your own fort for their purposes. I'm amazed they didn't realize the relationship between Valornia and Belvin. Of course we would all like to be a part of the same coalition."

You are now in a coalition with the Duchies of Belvin, Juln, Lautsburg, Revinsburg, the Kingdom of Gallanshire, the Galliem Order and the Archbishopic of Martz.

=---=---=
The OFFICER TRAINING SCHOOL is now complete. You may now recruit generals and create DIVISIONS. You may customize division using the units provided in the stats (http://pastebin.com/B4bgBxNn). The system is just like HOI4.
>>
>>299702
-Recruit a general to lead our glorious army
-research ballistic armor not unrealistic actually, it's not kevlar but better than nothing
-research army tactics
-research evolution for skorupi
>the link doesnt work
>also, how prevalent are guns?
>>
>>299774
also breed more blastoise and kadabra
>>
>>299774
>>299827

You recruit a general. It will take 1 round to recruit.

You start researching ballistic armor. It will take 13 rounds.

You research army tactics. It will take 13 rounds.

You already have this method of evolution.

The link doesn't work? - http://pastebin.com/B4bgBxNn - does for me.

Guns are still muskets. But with the mircrometer, you'll be able to get rifling and have rifles. The micrometer comes in 4 rounds.

---
You breed more Blastoise and Kadabra, each rises by 30.
>>
>>300613
-evolve some Scorpio
- secretly trade weapons for resources/money with the coalition, trade other stuff to hide it
-have our envoys call a secret meeting of our militaries on what to do, strategies, intel
>>
>>300613
-While we're at it, lets also survey the religions of the mainland
-lets pray to azelf and ask her for guidance
>the map should be deciphered
>also remember that we have a coast guard
>>
File: seamapreallydeciphered.png (212 KB, 700x500)

>>300738
>>300768

You evolve 10 more pops of Skorupi to get 10 pop of Drapion.

You start supplying more weapons and resources with the coalition, helping them build larger armies but its hard to hide when Zureisian soldiers are stationed in your major port and the Zureisian navy sailing in your waters but you manage for now.

You decide to get strategic and call a meeting with your military advisors and try to create plans of attack and such if war were to come on Haven Island but it well take time to figure something out, most likely 2 rounds. If you wish to make your own battle plans, you may do so.

You start to survey what religions are in charge in Rulona, it will take 3 rounds.

You pray to Azelf for guidance in these trying times. She gives a vision to Heidi, whose still hanging on to life, and tells her in the vision that Zureis will not fall in one strike but can be weakened by many. They have strode away from Arceus' teachings and can't rely on holy influence in battle. If war were to come, Saksford and Kells are sure to fall as well.

Coast Guard still has 2 rounds to be created.

The map from the sea ruins has been further deciphered and now you have a clear idea what is under the sea northwest of Chrabrost. It's clear there were islands between Haven and Root but it is not known what may have caused the sinking but they aren't that deep so in the future, dredging may be able to make them again but not for some time. For now, you may investigate the undersea towns for some clues.
I'll be honest, I totally forgot about the map.

=--=--=
EVENT: THE FORT'S WATCH

Speaking of the soldiers in Chrabrost fort, after a tears worth of living in Valornia, they've gotten more and more comfortable with the Valornian way of life and are getting complacent. Of course, the officers are not happy with this and set up a mock trial to teach the soldiers a lesson. Before long, the citizens of Chrabrost were surpised to here a riot coming from the fort and saw that the soldiers there have rebelled against their officers and want to remain in Valornia, which they see as a superior nation that actually cares for its populace.

You have a choice-

>Let these soldiers into Valornia, gaining pops and untis but angering the Zureisian alliance and bringing them closer to war.
>Control them and arrest them before deporting them to Zureis. Zureis will be at better terms with you.
>>
>>300817
>>Let these soldiers into Valornia, gaining pops and untis but angering the Zureisian alliance and bringing them closer to war.

Sorry, not sorry Zureis. Maybe we're just the best.

Convince the Nuzleaf, the Zubat and the Mankey that we need to ally against any threats from outside the Island. Make a defensive pact and inform them all of how powerful our potential enemies are.

Create a pan-Root Island identity.

We're Rooters. Or Rootese or something. Which makes us biologically different and more united than Havenites.
>>
>>300817
Openly send the officers back while secrerly welcoming the soldiers. We "took care" of this riot where the Zuresians could not
>>
>>300817
>>300863
Forgot to mention, have them send word to their friends and family to spread the news of how much nicer our nation is
>>
>>300855
>>300863
>>300868

You decide to let the soldiers stay in Valornia while sending off the officers without further harm. It took a bit of time to wrangle the riled soldiers but the local police and guard were able to calm them down and let them settle in the fort for now.

You have gained:

Aipom - 15
Mawile - 10
Vibrava - 5
Roselia - 5

Military units gained:

2 Aipom Strikers
2 General Infantry
1 Mawile Mechanists

Relations have dropped amongst Zureisian alliance by -100. They are now angry at you.

=---=---=
>>300855

You try to convince Karovia, Becari and the Nuzleaf that they should create a pan-Root treaty, a defense pact based around the fact that their identity is tied to this island- you are all Rootisians and won't be conquered.

Sadly, none of them accept the proposal.

---
The embassy in Feran has been established, you may now do more advanced political actions with the Republic of Feran.
>>
>>300919
Fuck em then, how about the Pichu?

Discretely and covertly promise the dark types of haven Island that if things ever go to shit over there we'll help them launch a two-pronged amphibious assault on the Nuzleaf territory to settle them all there as a "haven" from the religious genocide of haven island.

Also send a gift and apologize to the Zureis for what happened. Tell them it was the only peaceful solution we could think of.

They'll know it is bullshit but they can go fuck themselves.
>>
>>300919
So whats a mechanistic do? Can we learn from them?
>>
>>300855
>>300919
What you were supposed to do is hold a festival where we invite people from around root island to participate in cultural exchange.
-research trapmaking
-search the underwater towns
>>
>>300919
Also, research amphibious combat so we can train navy spheals
>>
>>300945
They're an artillery unit and use Sakers as their weapon. Reverse engineering will let you build them.

>>300941

The Pichu want to remain neutral as well but considering the fact Karovia is breathing on them, they aren't sure. They tell you to ask again at a different time.

---
You promise the south shore nations that they will help them relocate in the Nuzleaf territory if anything goes down on Haven Island. They accept this rather crude solution but its better than having no backup.

You send a gift to the Zureisians but they reject it and tell your envoy to get out of their land. They are not happy with you and will probably refuse to negotiate.

=---=---=
While things are getting heated between the islands, you are suddenly visited by a diplomatic envoy from Kalisia and you find that they had sent Darek along to see your land. They enter Chrabrost and get an audience from the local politicians, civilians, soldiers and such.

"So this is Valornia? A large beautiful port city was not what I thought I might see first but still..."

How will you greet Darek, the Kalisian diplomat?
>>
>>300968
Great him with an open and hearty welcome. Take him on a tour of our beautiful countryside, our bustling markets and our excellent food and ale.
-make sure to read my precious posts
-reverse engineer that shit
>>
>>300968
Hold a festival where we invite >people FUCKING POKEMON froma round Root Island to participate in cultural exchange.

Reverse engineer that sakers shit.

>>300965
Seconding this 4 sure.
>>
>>300970
>>300968
Ask him whats nations does Kalisia have good relations with
>>
>>300970
I reads your precious posts. They are delightful. In reality, I posted without updating so I didn't see past >>300945. Don't worry though.

>>300957
>>300965

You start researching trap-making. It will take 5 rounds.

You start to search the underwater towns. It will take 3 rounds for each town.

You start researching amphibious combat. It will take 20 rounds.

>>300970
>>300973

You hold a festival that celebrates the heritage of Root Island and invite people to perform cultural exchange. It will take 3 rounds to see the effect.

You start reverse-engineering the Saker. It will take 6 rounds.

You welcome Darek with open arms and give him a grand tour of the province Chrabrost is in. He is impressed by the countryside and the small towns but is seriously enamoured by Chrabrost and the foods and markets located there.

"This city has a strange feeling to it. It feels... it feels... comfortable? I like this city quite a bit. The food is amazing, the ale is a level on par with ours and the people are sociable- it's a great city."

You ask him what nations Kalisia is in good terms with.

"Our neighbors. Turns out, good ale and having a lot of food to export gets you a lot of friends. Lanzia and Albrinn are our close allies though, so we aren't alone militarily either."

What else do you wish to ask him?
>>
>>301006
Tell him of the plight of the dark types on haven Island.

Ask him what such a good-natured country thinks of genocide?

Ask him if his navy or army can help protect them.

Try to create a Geneva conention equivalent with the Mainland.
>>
>>301017

You tell him of the current situation on Haven Island with your coalition.

"Hmm... that's not what I call a easy going solution to a problem... to be honest, I was sent here to see what its like in Valornia and to check out these Haven Islands but from what you're telling me, it doesn't seem good up north."

"Well, what's your opinion on genocide, and what've your countrymen as well?" you ask.

"Genocide is not a solution. It will only cause further strife and... it won't be good for any subsequent generations if who you're trying to kill off isn't gone yet. Especially nations that are far weaker from the map you gave us."

"If it all comes down to war... would you help us?"

"For that to happen, the benefits must be wieghed... what would be in our interest to help in a zealots war?"

What would you offer to Kalisia to get them on your side?

---
>Try to create a Geneva conention equivalent with the Mainland.

You cannot do this until Geneva or TNT have been found and since only one of these exist, this cannot be made yet. And no, no one is close to making TNT, let alone nitroglycerin.

I'll be back in the afternoon so get those ideas on what Kalisia should get rolling along. Remember, be creative.
>>
>>301060
I want to make an anti-Genocide anti-War crimes treaty with the Kalisians that hopefully will spread throughout the Mainland.

is this not possible.

As to what we can offer the kalisians?

Good trade deals. Maybe share some scientific discoveries.

If it's more territory they desire either offer them the top half of Zureis if we conquer them.

OR

If they would be willing to wait a few (hundred) years, we are going to bring a new landmass into being by drudging it up from the ocean. we could offer them a good chunk of that land.
>>
>>301060
>>301080
I don't we can offer them anything besides some tech and trade concessions
-also make contact with Lanzia and Albrin
>>
>>300919
So what are aipom strikers? Martial artists? Lets learn from them.
also, what religion are they?
>>
>>301060
If you haven't already, lets propose the neutrals join the coalition with the reasoning that zureis won't stop if they defeat the coalition and we need everyone we can

>I want to make an anti-Genocide anti-War crimes treaty with the Kalisians that hopefully will spread throughout the Mainland. Is this not possible?

Between two countries definitely, but not an entire convention although the movement can spread.

You offer more trade and some tech as well to the Kalisians for their help.

"Trade? What do you have in mind and what piece of equipment might you give us for us to study?"

What will you give to them?

--
>>301595

You decide make contact with the Kingdoms of Lanzia and Albrinn. They welcome your diplomats as friends of the Kalisians, who are noted by both parties as fairly loyal and quite defensive. What will you discuss with Lanzia and Albrinn?

>>301618
Aipom Strikers are a mix of CQC and city warfare. Basically, they're a spec ops unit. Armed with flintlocks and shortswords. They can use hand to hand combat as well. Also, like all Zureisians, they practice Arceusism.

>>301665
You are already doing this, you're getting tomatoes, potatoes and carrots from them.

>>301762
You research the Slide Rule, it will take 7 rounds.
You research the Air Pump, it will take 18 rounds.
You research the Barometer, it will take 12 rounds.

>>301885

>What can we now do with Feran?

Whatever you can think of. Once you have an embassy with another country, you can do far more than just improve relations and trade. For starters, why not encourage immigration?

You decide to tell the Duchy of Larson about the plight on Haven Island and if they would help they're brethren.

They would but only one problem, they have a rather pathetic army and would be no help. They depend on Nordhalen and Eastali. They suggest asking Nordhalen instead for army help.
>>
>>302342
What tech do the Kalisians have so we can compare on what to give? tech treaty if possible
-initiate trade with Lanzia and Albrin
-spread word of the genocide in the mainland and of the movement
-yes, encourage immigration from Kalisia
and Larson
-improve relations with Nordhalen and ask them about military help
>>
>>302497

The Kalisians have as much as you do really but are missing some military tech and industrial tech. For military, they don't have scoped muskets, Galleons or Frigates. Industrial, they don't have concrete, kerosene, micrometer or advanced chemistry.

---
You wish to initiate trade with Lanzia and Albrinn. Lanzia has dyes, pepper, razz berries, 10 coal, 7 steel, and 3 wheat.
Albrinn has glass, ginger, razor fangs, 3 coal, 2 steel, 4 wheat, and 10 corn.

---
You spread the word of genocide and movement to prevent it throughout Rulona but the effect is yet to be seen but it may trigger movements in time.

---
You may only encourage immigration with countries you have an embassy with, which are Belvin and Feran.

---
You improve relations with Nordhalen and ask if they could help militarily if war were to come. They note that you haven't even put down an embassy in their land so asking this is a bit of stretch in their eyes but they ask what kind of war and with whom.

=---==---=

My inspiration with this is waning. I'll be honest, I kinda want to start again but skipping all the early age stuff and get to the steam age at least. I also have a good quest idea but I might save it for now. Any opinions?
>>
>>302931
Gift them concrete and scopes. We are willing to trade for the rest if they have techs we dont.
-im too lazy to trade but we want pepper, razz berries, ginger, and razor fangs. Just trade with whatever we have alot of
-yes, encourage immigration from belvin and feran
-establish embassies in Kalisia and Nordhalen
-tell them its about the Zuresians and their allies genociding dark/ghost pokemon, they have corrupted the teachings of arceus
>Im enjoying it but yeah not many ppl here, whats the quest idea?
>>
>>302931
Could you run the other quests and do this one on your off time, i dont want it to just die

You offer to trade concrete and the scoped musket for the help of Kalisia. Darek is impressed by the offer.

"This stuff seems a little more than I thought would be given. Forget trading anything, the musket was more than enough- better than what we have honestly. I accept it and you will have the word of the Kalisians that if war comes, you can call us."

The Kalisians are now allies of Valornia! You may call them during war and they may join with you and call their allies as well.

---
You decide to trade steel, coal and iron for pepper, razz berries, ginger, and razor fangs. The two kingdoms accept and you now have access to these goods.

---
You encourage immigration to your land in Belvin and Feran. Population will shift over time to your country and will increase every 5 rounds.

---
You tell Nordhalen that a kingdom named Zureis is planning on genocide for the dark and ghost types on the south shore of Haven Island, which you give a map of, and that they have strode away from their god as well. Considering Nordhalen's majority population is Dark-type, this riles them up quite badly and note to call them if Zureis tries to start their campaign.

You may now call Nordhalen only if Zureis declares war on a south shore duchy.

---
The general's name is Mikula Sokol

---
Water Farming is now complete. You are now farming for water-types and have increased food stock by 1500.

---
You propose this to the neutral nations and they consider it but for now, they wish to stay out of the entire crisis at hand for now.

--
You start researching Mortars, Star Forts and Swivel Guns. It will take 18 rounds for mortars, 23 rounds for the Star Fort and 13 rounds for the Swivel Gun.

=---=---=

The MICROMETER has been invented. You may now make PISTONS and RIFLING.

The expansionist policy has been established. It is the destiny of the Valorians to own the Haven Isles and make Great Valornia a reality.

The domestication of the Miltank is complete, you now have MILK and BEEF. Your food stock has increased by 2500.

3 Oil Wells have been dug on your land! You now have access to 12 units of OIL!

The survey of religion in Rulona is finished, the map provided shows the majority of religions in Rulona.

The culture festival is now over. The Valornian culture has seeped into Becari, Karovia, the Nuzleaf, the Pichu, the Sandshrew and the Vulpix, making them all more susceptible for vassalization and/or getting them in your sphere of influence.

=---=---=

Thanks for the support. It's not that its not popular, I don't mind really, it's more that this has gotten far to tedious in my eyes. I don't plan on quitting now but I have my doubts. I'll try to continue to the Steam Age where a reboot of the mechanics may happen and see where I go from there, is this a good idea?

My new quest idea is more slice of life. You live as a random in a modern fantasy world. I'll go in further detail later.
>>
>>303617
The idea is an adventure in modern fantasy world where you can find elves taking shots at a nightclub, halflings at an Ald buying milk, a dragon as MP of a county, that sort of thing. You'll start out as some random schmuck that can be a variety of races, from human to gnoll, and from there, you explore the world as things get frisky. You get to band together a little group over time and cross land in any manner you choose, by car, plane train or plain old walking and the weapons are of course going to be your standard melee weapons alongside guns. Magic exists too but in this world, it can't just deflect bullets or knock a car out without some practice. Any opinions?
>>
>>303617
-develop kerosene
-research butter making
-ask the Kalisian envoy about taoism, we might integrate it into our religion
-start integrating pistons into our machinery (if we have any) and rifling for our guns/cannons
-create the barbeque grill
-set up farms so we may expand our miltank population (we also gained a steady income of leather)
-start integrating Becari into our sphere of influence
-evolve some gligar with the new razor fangs
-contact the muinal knights
-tell lanzia and albrinn of the genocide and ask if they would join kalisia+nordhalen in our campaign against this injustice
-create the barbeque grill and start grilling some beef
-start domesticating zebstrika
>>
>>303722
>so like shadowrun? sounds pretty cool though
>>
>>303617
also forgot to say that yeah, that seems like a good idea. I want to at least finish this "Zureis arc" and we should get to steam power in only a few more threads, say 5. If you have other mechanics or ideas to make it more interesting for you, you can just tell us and we'll tell you our opinion like this
>>
>>303617
-harvest poisonous vivillon powder (create it as a job i guess)
-harvest water repellant butterfree powder
-harvest toxic dustox powder
-harvest poisonous and paralytic venomoth powder-like scales (they're small)
-harvest ariados, galvantula silk
>look at all these goods we can get because I looked up the pokemons' descriptions
>>
>>303730
Kinda only its not near future but current year so no kooky stuff like cybernetics or anything. ITS 2016!

>>303753
The Zureis thing was really the main focus before the steam age I hoped. But from there, I had no idea where to go. But we'll see. As for rebooting. I'm probably going to ax city development for province development and overhaul the military aspect. Trade is another thing needing an overhaul and I need a tech tree of some sort but as said, we have plenty of time till then.

I'll be back in a few hours. I noticed >>303724
but I don't have the time right now but I'll get to it later.
>>
>>303836
if you're switching to province development, it'd be nice if you could give us a zoomed in map of just valornia with its settlements, roads, etc. so we could build stuff easier (it'd be easier to keep track of shit we want to build)
>>

Honestly man, I like the overall idea for the quest and you have a knack for making interesting story stuff and cool continents and having events and religion.

But the system in itself has morphed and changed into a boring ass video game.

Anything I want to do I tell you and you respond saying that thing will be complete in X rounds.

So by the time my suggestion has taken place I've forgotten it because I need to give you like, fifteen other suggestions in the mean time.

That's why the diplomacy shit or talking to people is so much fun. You've obviously put a ton of effort into shit and I get immediate rewards in my vote rather than OH, you want to use that, well wait 50 posts over two threads for it to happen.

Some things make sense and I understand introducing some mechanics so it isn't completely free from.

But the initial stages when shit like the gible just happened and we got to control two individual yanma freeing slaves from their mines was sick because it was a moment of something happening on a small scale and personal. its where we got Heidi. Now it just feels like you're doing Europa Universalis 4: Pokemon Mod (which probably actually exists) but the problem is this isn't a video game. I want to make these diplomatic deals and grow our country and make smart decisions that either brings us up or may backfire if you or dice decide that's the case, but I don't want to sit on my hands or be forced into micromanaging oil wells/food production/an economic budget.

I think you need to streamine the mechanics heavily.

This world though, with the religion and the different nations and the cosmopolitan nature is all super fun and enjoyable and it makes me want to participate because i feel like i'm trying to hold the country together.

I think you should either forget or do all the micromanaging of specific production yourself and just hit us with events and crises as they pop up.

Where is nordhalen? I don't see it on the map
>>
>>304218
>>303836
even though I dont mind the video gaminess of this, I agree that there needs to be more character interaction ala european dragon quest or something similar.
yeah, a mechanic overhaul might be needed
-an idea I have is to make a main character that is a skorupi hero who is blessed by Azelf (possibly with immortality so we can handwave replacements). we can switch to his quest/him becoming the ruler (royal advisor maybe?) so we can continue the civ quest then
>>
>>304232
>>302342
nordhalen is the curved tan country on the top of the mainland, left of verunio
>>
>>304218
>>304544

I've read my past threads and the change is subtle but noticable. I think its that I grew the world so fast that I had no way to handle most of what I was adding, a classic case of too big too fast.

Maybe I should eliminate most of the micromanaging and maybe having a main character is not really a bad idea. Tech can always come over time. Cities will naturally grow but one can suggest something to be built as a politician. Population is still influenced but randomized because a random schmuck hero isn't going to influence bed time. Events happen when players do interesting things like before and I'd love to focus on the political aspects.

I think after this thread, I'm going to tone down on the micromanagement on the player side and increase events although I can do that now. And maybe have a "hero" of sorts.

I love the creativity here.

- You start refining KEROSENE. It is now available for use and being used to light up the cities

-You research butter-making. It will be 2 rounds till you get the buttery goodness.

-You ask Darek about Taoism a little more. He had already told you it was the main religion for Kalisia and the main gods but not much else.

"Well... Taoism is the belief that one should strike a balance between reality, which is the truth, and fantasy, which is the ideal. The god of truth, Reshiriam and the god of ideal, Zekrom, created the lands together along with their third, Kyurem, the god of balance. They say that prayer to one of the three depending on the situation will give you a different outcome than the other based on your beliefs at the time. Vastly different than Spiritualism isn't it?"

-Enterprising engineers has the astounding idea to of using pistons to crush raw ore, increasing efficiency! Not only that, but another set of engineers used a specially made piston and bored into a musket to get a RIFLE. Of course, producing said rifle is a different story. It will take time to get them in large numbers.

-BBQing has existed since the dawn of fire so this isn't really necessary.

-Some entrepreneurs decide to start larger farms in the large plains in the southern regions. Once done, the nation will have plenty of milk, beef and a curious new material from dead Miltank, leather.

-Some Gligar citizens who decided that the Razor Fangs were quite nice as an accesory were shocked when they suddenly evolved! You have lost... roll 1d20 to see how many pops evolved.

-You contact the Muinal Knights who are surprised by the sudden visit from a kingdom they've never heard off before.

"Well, well. Well met good sir! Where are you from today?"

"Valornia. Far to the northwest past Albrinn and Kalisia."

"W-what!? But that's just ocean out there! Unless those maps are highly inaccurate... what do wish to discuss?"

>letting you know, most of this stuff is just me. I tend to get really into quests that I like. my imagination just goes and goes
-start developing leather into armor, clothes, tents, etc.
-research paint if we can
-"No actually, we Valornian's are from a place called Root Island. We control most of it but share with some neighbors. There is also a much bigger island called Haven to the northwest of us. Currently, we are in a coalition with the nations of the south against the much more powerful ones in the north. Our coalition is a defensive one against those who worship Arceus but have strayed from his teachings and genocide dark/ghost types. We were wondering if you would help us in our campaign against this injustice?"
>I contacted them cause they seem like a knightly order
-ask if they would want to trade with us (can be resources but possibly military trainers or mercenaries) and give them a basic map
-well, then have the government come up with a BBQ restaurant chain, for money
-considering we have ice type pokemon, lets research refrigeration (even if we have to have ice deliveries)

-You send envoys to Lanzia and Albrinn to tell them of the potential genocide that may or may not happen on Haven Island. Lanzia was not particularly interested in this entire crisis but the Albrinnites are a bit interested.

"Young lady, if you're telling me the truth then that's the most horrible thing! Why kill people who have yet to do anything! Especially considering Poison types are more untrustworthy than most Dark-types." a young female Riolu said to a Valornian diplomat, which because of prior programs, are mostly Sneasel.

"Why do you say that?"

"The thing with Dark-types is that at least they have a close knit community. They know to keep together and to stay that way or else be accused of something unilaterally. Of course, 300 years ago, Dark-types were the most common of types to perform banditry and such but now with the invention of muskets, they've gotten docile but Poison types tend to work to subvert others through sheer trickery and will get your money, either legally or illegally."

"...you do know that Valornia was founded BY Poison-types right?"

"Valornia is different. The Yanma that live there had influenced them away from slowly taking over the island through trickery. Look into it, you know its true. I've read into Valornia as much as I can and I can assure you, there's a good example. Look at the Spinarak. YOu'll see what I mean."

"Right. I'll check on it. But I want to know something- if this whole genocide of my people comes to pass, will Albrinn help? Kalisia has promised and so has Nordhalen."

"Kalisia? If they are helping then we can too. You have my word young miss."

Albrinn can now be called if you go to war with Zureis!

-Some enterprising men decided to try and domesticate the Zebstrika, a dangerous endeavor indeed. It will take at least 5 rounds before they're domesticated.

-Some Vivillion have found it smart to utilize their powder that tends to light things on fire very well and find out that while it burns pretty quickly, it makes quite the temperature. A useful alternative for coal. And for cooking juicy meat of course. You can also make things FLAMMABLE!

-The Butts of the land have found that their powder is fairly water resistant and decide to test it with a piece of cloth, which dripped the water off fairly well. You can now make things WATER-RESISTANT!

-The Dustox powder is found to be, while inert, toxic once in great enough values, useful for assassinations and to use on weapons for extra hurt.

-The same goes for the Venomoth as with the Dustox only its a better easier to collect.

-You already have silk.

As life goes on in Chrabrost, but inside the main embassy of foreign entities of Valornia, the Belvin office is at a standstill. Conrad steps out and looks for someone to talk to and finds Jitka walking around, carrying a small stack of documents.

-Due to influence of Valornia, Becari has been slowly shifting towards being closer to the Valornians. Not only that, in the courts, the nobles and wealthy of Valornia were gaining power. Soon, Valornia was more or less the major influence in the politics of Becari. The people of Becari, however, are not going to react well to this, how will they take it?. "G-genocide? In the name of Arceus!? Do those fools know that only Acreus himself can render justice!?"

"Sadly, they've strayed that far."

"It sounds more like they found a new religion to worship instead... ever heard of Yvetal?"

"No, not exactly. Who is this god?"

"The fiber of death himself. He yearns for servants and Dark, Ghost, and Poison types are the ones he wants the most but to serve him, they must be dead. He must be influencing their king and their military to try and kill as many dark poison and ghost types as possible."

"But they're a kingdom founded by poison types, why not just make them kill themselves?"

"Why do that, when you can have more than one kingdom's worth of servants?"

"Will you help us stop them?"

"But of course! If an outside influence is messing with the teachings of the Original One, then they must be smited for the ultimate treason against our god."

The Muinal Knights are now available to be called into war with Zureis' coalition! Not only that, but you now know there may be another influence there that must be stopped.

--

-You give the Muinal diplomat a basic map of the Haven Isles and ask if they wish to trade but state they focus on spreading religion, not goods.

-That would be communist eh comrade? Joking aside, an entrepreneur has started a BBQ chain called Beefloria, after the nation he lives in.

(15, Average Success) The Becarian people are accepting of the change of major players. The Kingdom of Becari is now in your sphere of influence without a hitch!

- Some tanners decided to change up and try a risky new idea- boiling the hide slightly. They found that it made it stronger than before and that it could be stretched before it was cooled as well. The applications for this are limited but its useful to know.

- You re-arm the General Infantry to have leather armor and Flintlock Muskets.

-Some soldiers decided to be extra nasty and added broken old spearheads to the end of their muskets to create BAYONETS. You may now command your army to charge into the opposition and kill and/or scatter them.

- You're already researching STAR FORTS which includes all that really.

- That would 1 general and 1 admiral then? Navies have Admirals. Whatever the case, the government hires one general and one admiral.

- You vote to join the war.1 more and you will declare war on Zureis' coalition.

- You also move to call all allies into the war.

>are the becari warrior centric? I forget.
Yes they are. You ask them to join you in glorious battle once more, only this time, a much, much larger kingdom instead a bunch of Butts. They oblige because they are under your influence.

- Your military techies start working on water-proofing the guns first, considering water jams them pretty well.

- You would let your soldiers do this but the benefits are minimal at best and its hard to get this powder as it is already.

>-develop toxic coating packages for our weapons
This is not a great idea for anyone involved, unless you want to coat the shot instead?

- You try to weaponize the flammable powder but it burns fair to quickly and is hard to store.

>I'll see you later tonight. I hope.

Presumably but I had forgotten the Farfetch'd. I'll add it in.

- You train a new special unit made up of Venonat that specialize in being very poisonous and shooting strange light out of their eyes. That and they can handle pistols pretty well. You would give them gauntlets but their hands aren't large enough for them. The training will be done shortly.

- It seems that recent activity have gotten the Venonat and Blastoise to sharply increase in population. 3k (able men) each.

- You also train the new Blastoise population to be really annoying by using their powerful water cannons to knock down walls, troops and dissenters as well. Like above, the training will be done shortly.

- You also recruit 5 more general infantry. Training will be done shortly as long as Private Sedláček doesn't shoot himself in the foot again.

==At this point, most melee weapons are obsolete- only a few remain and that means having a separate gun infantry is pointless. Also, a lot of the special units are also now obsolete and are just general infantry now.==

- Using the newly found boiled leather, bookmakers found it useful for, well books. Book production has increased dramatically and the population is becoming more literate.

- Another use found with the leather is the creation of newer, better leather armors, such as Scaled Armor and Brigandines for most common infantry. Of course, manufacturing this will be a little costly. 2000 KYR for each type unit equipped with either multiplied by the number of units.

>the idea I had for the toxic coating packages was something we could make that soldiers could apply to their melee weapons for temporary toxic damage (dried leaf packets that you'd rub on your blade or something)

If that's what you meant, then this is fine. Getting the powder is hard for the military but it's reward in battle, especially charges with bayonets. will be quite something. The cost for getting the powder is 1500 KYR per unit.

-Trunnions were made when the first artillery cannons were cast but limbers and caissons are a different story. As field practice with cannon wore on, most soldiers manning them were tired of carrying them by the two wheel configuration and developed a limber, allowing the cannon to be towed with ease. Caissons were developed alongside to haul the shot used by the cannons easier as well. All cannon units have better mobility and can move faster, three provinces per round.

>>305094
With the votes cast, war has been declared on the Zureisian coalition, though not publicly as to not alert them, the military was put on high alert and moved to the main ports, Chrabrost and Přístav Darbury. Messages were sent to Kalisia, Albrinn, the Muinal Knights and Nordhalen that war has finally come.

This is a good plan. Utilizes the chance that Zureis has no idea what's coming. Anyone want to second this before I move ahead?

>>308010

- The farms have stock pens already. Tetrapods?

Anyways, your military eggheads start making caltrops, which can be used in defensive lines
to slow enemies down. 2 rounds till development is done.

- A young Sentret, by the name of Vladimír Sykora, was lazing around one day after studies in Jakoelfton's main university under the large apple trees on campus. As he lay there, an apple flew and banged into his head. Annoyed by the intrusion but surprised as well, he trew the apple and a thought came to him as he threw it away- how did it fall? How does it go so far when he threw it? From this, the 3 Sykorian Laws of Physics were born. You may now use physics to understand mechanics better than before.

- The military eggheads, already busy with so much, start to develop canister shot, for maximum damage to their enemies. In 1 round, it will be available to use as an attack order.

Sorry for not doing anything but I kinda fell asleep.

>I was thinking of using cattle grids to prevent cavalry charges, anything with hooves gets tripped up

They're a little hard to set up and are very obvious to anyone charging since metal tends not to match the earth.

>tetrapods are weirdly shaped concrete block things that can be used in shore defense, they help protect from high tide and provide rough terrain for enemy invaders

Oh those. While Valornia has concrete, they don't have molds, reinforced concrete or anything like that so it would be a challenge to make.

-You send messages to the south shore nations to stall the other nations as best they can. Considering you have been supplying weaponry to them, this will be quite effective for a time until their armies get broken apart.

-Which troops do you wish to equip the razor fang?

-=-=-=-
The plan you wish to carry out, shown on them map, involves you shipping your army north to the Mareep, otherwise known as the Duchy of Arthunbrook, and going through their land to get to Zureis instead of striaght up invading. The south shore nations will punch upwards and try to keep the others' in the coalition busy while your Rulonian allies will be invading Zureis in the east. Kalisia and Albrinn, both of which have decent navies, will help get your army across the strait in one piece.

Which units will you assign and do you wish to modify the battle plan?

-

- A chemist in Reka Chrabrost has developed a new material, brass. The use of this is unknown and producing it needs a dedicated workshop, which will take a small time to build if you so choose.

- A couple of craftsmen decide to band together and create a way to get the best pens made as fast as possible without having to sit there for hours carving metal. They develop molds to craft pens in, the first of their kind. The idea has spread across the artisan world and reached military eggheads who think they could be used to craft things en masse with ease but the whole thing must be done in a shop floor of some kind.

=-=-=-=-=
- After some extensive work, some Ralts have been civilized and are now productive members of society. You have gained 10 pop of Ralts.

- In the southern plains, a young man has discovered a process using certain fruit to make an amazing alcoholic beverage, wine. Wineries start popping up in provinces 2 and 3, where the light rolling hills among the plains provide the best soil in the nation.

- A new style of the arts has spreads to Valornia called Mannerism. Architects are building extravagant buildings, sculptures and such in this new amazing style. Art is being made in this style as well, bringing a new era of culture to the land.

- Crude Oil has been further researched by a small team and have found that its properties can be harnessed for use as a lubricant, paving the way for factory machinery to be an ever closer reality.

- The trapping industry has grown with the demand of fur, quite ironic considering most pokemon have fur already but the wealthy demand to look excellent no matter what. New traps have been developed and the military of Valornia is keen to try some out on their enemies, offensively and defensively of course. You may devise some traps for the army to use.

- The production of RIFLES has begun. You may now equip troops with this highly accurate but low damage weapon. Variants may be made with names for novelty. Rifle does 70 damage at 90% accuracy.

-New army tactics have been advised, you may now use more advanced strategies when advancing through enemy territory and during battle.

- A type of ballistic vest has been developed to be used in conjunction with brigandines, by wearing it underneath for better protection from shot. Wearing a brigandine now offers 30% reduction of damage from musket/rifle shot.

- The survey team sent out to catalog Rulona's view on certain subjects came back rather empty handed as most kingdoms they visited wished not to discuss how they or their people feel on subjects like genocide or religion but the stark conclusion drawn was that the team, comprised of some of the majority specie in Valornia, were mostly hated due to typing.

3 Murkrow Sharpshooters
2 Aipom Strikers
1 Mawile Mechanists

Toward Arthunbrook using most of your frigates as transport as well as being guarded by your Galleons and the navies of Kalisia and Albrinn. Next round, an encounter with the Zureisian navy is guaranteed.

- You equip all General Infantry with Razor Fangs which will cost 26,000 KYR. You total budget now is 141,750 KYR

- You get the military to try and see if they could make a mold for a new type of shot and end up developing more for other things as well. Roll 1d10 to see if INTERCHANGEABLE PARTS or BULLETS.

1-3 - Nada
4-6 - Interchangeable Parts discovered!
7-9 - Bullets
10 - BOTH!

- You would try to talk to the Zangoose, otherwise known as the Kingdom of Wakes, but considering to get there, you need to cross enemy lines, its a bit hard at the moment for your diplomats.

- You start civilizing Misdreavus. Rolls will be done every 3 rounds to determine if they are civilized or not. Starting 3 rounds from now. (I've seen the light and using rounds is boring. Rolls from now on, are the standard.)

- You research oil even further than before. Roll will be done in 4 rounds to see what you get.

- You start to develop traps such as bear traps, punji sticks (sick bastard), and spear traps. Roll will be done in 2 rounds to determine which you get first.

- Rifles are being produced now. As I said, you may equip as you see fit but can make your own variant with different stats and name it. If you do this however, you will be rolling for its stats to be fair. Or you can use a point buy system. Whichever you want.

(8, Bullets)
The military inventors developed a better version of the shot used now known as the Chvátal ball, after the lead scientist Roman Chvátal, which is more pointed and works well with rifles, adding 25 damage to rifles. It is only usable on rifles.

=--=--=

And it all ends here with Valornia getting somewhat better bullets and rifles. Things are getting American Civil War with the tech that's being used at this point.

Next thread will be tomorrow. Have a good night.
