Earlier today, Bruce Wayne announced his plans to rebuild Gotham's slums and help hundreds of poor, displaced citizens get their lives back in the process. It's an admirable idea, sure, but fat cats like Wayne don't know how it works in Gotham. You don't try to revive what's dead- you just cut it away.

My name is Danny O'Neil. I used to work for the Falcones before the Bat took 'em down, and now I'm a bit of a freelancer. Right now I've been based out of the slums, working on a little project of mine. It took the better part of a year, but I managed to put together a convincing Batsuit, kevlar lining and everything. Problem is, when Wayne's workers come to rebuild this place, the cops will find out I've been squatting, so I'm making my move tonight.

Wayne is throwing a fancy gala in his tower tonight to raise funds. I'm gonna get in there, dressed up as the Bat-freak, take Wayne and collect a sweet ransom. I'll skip town and escape scot-free, with Bats taking the fall.

Just gotta make sure I don't run into the big pointy-eared guy himself.

Does anybody else know about the plan?

Alright, it's go time. The tower's up ahead, and the party starts in half an hour.

Before I make a move, I get a call from Rhiannon. "Hey, Dan. Where the hell have you been?"
>>
>>29442
I've been keeping it a secret, but my ex-girlfriend Rhi's been noticing my absences. Asking to stay at her place that many times may not've been wise.

I'm on the phone, not particularly interested in talking to my ex-girlfriend, but not quite bothered enough to hang up.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm here. I've been out for a bit, looking for some work."

"You better not be doing anything illegal, you fucker. If the cops find you, they'll find me, and we'll both be fucked."

I hang up, don't need her whining. If she knew the plan, she'd be nagging me for a cut of the profits. I finger the makeshift smoke bombs in my pocket and the Smith & Wesson strapped to my chest. It's only got six shots, but it should be enough.

I hit the streets. I can head straight for the tower, or explore Gotham- after all, I've got time.

Explore Gotham, get a feel for the mood of the city tonight. Try and dig up info about a police presence at the party.

It's a convincing enough suit, to the average eye I might as well be the man himself. I've got the cape and cowl tucked into my belt, so I look like any other armored thug wandering the streets (though the undies might get me a few jeers).

There's a light mist in the air tonight- a cold front came through a while ago, and it's warming up now. I saw the bat-signal light up the sky a while ago, but the G.C.P.D. roof is dark now.

I could head over there to see if I can eavesdrop on cop plans, or I could search for less law-abiding folks. I'm in the Park Row area now, and I've heard rumors Two-Face is working out of a bar a few blocks down.

I hop down and head down a few blocks. According to my buddy Blackie, who's running with ol' ex-D.A. Dent now, he's operating from the Stacked Deck Bar, near the docks.

I figure Two-Face will be keeping an eye on Wayne as well- he's always been obsessed with exposing benevolent people's dark sides, so I doubt he thinks Wayne is being completely altruistic here.

On the way over, I hear a woman's scream come from a dark alleyway. I could stop, but I don't know how long the visit with Two-Face might take.

Picking up my dirty quarter from the wet street, I shrug and keep going. It's a shame for her, but hey, it's not like I'm Batman.

I reach the Stacked Deck and check my watch- there's still a good twenty minutes before Wayne's thing starts, so I should be able to get some info from here, and with any luck, some help.

I figure I'll keep using the coin flip strategy, it seemed to work, and I can't write for shit and had no idea how to choose, so thanks
>>

Feel guilty about not checking the scream but reassure yourself it was probably just a trap that thugs made for wandering samaritans.

Anyway, see if you can find info on the security of the joint you'll strike. You're just one dude so it's best if you exploit the weaknesses and avoid conflicts. Maybe play up theatrics to avoid pursures, people do fear the bat afterall.

I walk inside, just in time to see the man himself and two of his men come out from a back room. Even under his mask, I recognize Blackie on his right. We've been buds for years, and he knows I'm pulling something tonight, though I haven't filled him in on the details.

"Who the hell're you?" Two-Face growls. I wrack my mind for what to say- I've got to explain myself quickly, especially the big bat-symbol on my chest.

Two-Face grins. "We were planning on pulling a bank job in a week or so, using a bomb in Gotham General Hospital as a distraction, but the ransom you can get out of Wayne's people will easily double that." His eyes glint. "We likes doubles. Tell you what- we'll handle the distraction. You take these guys and get Wayne. They'll help you, but also be making sure you don't skip town with the ransom when you're done."

He opens the door to the back room and yells to his men. "ALRIGHT BOYS, WE'RE TAKING THE HOSPITAL TONIGHT! MAKE SURE ALL OF GOTHAM'S FINEST ARE ON OUR POSITION!"

Me, Blackie, and the other thug, named Vance, exit onto the street. We've still got ten minutes, and if we're fast it's only half that to get to Wayne Tower.

We dash through back alleys and make it to the base of Wayne Tower in just five minutes. They're letting in Gotham's rich benefactors at the door, but we're quite clearly not on the list. Blackie and Vance have ditched their masks and jackets, but their rifles are still strapped to their backs and anyway, they don't really look ritzy enough to con their way in that way.

I slip on my cape and cowl. There are a few security guards milling around near the grand entrance, as well as the doorman and the flow of guests, but there are likely far more guards inside. At least Wayne chose to hold his event on the ground floor.

What's our next move?
>>
>>30428
We have a distraction for the bat, now we need to distract the security.

"Blackie, c'mere." I motion for him to come out of earshot of Vance. "Listen, coming out of that limo is Miranda Pierce. You know, the granddaughter of Mangrove & Camilla Pierce, the rich actors from the forties?" Blackie shakes his head. "I don't follow you, Dan. She's famous?" "Famous enough, at least. You guys take her, bring the guards that way, and I'll sneak in to watch this party- after all, Batman needs to keep an eye on things." He nods. With my voice low, I ask if I can count on him if it comes down to me and Two-Face, and he nods again, slower this time.

Vance walks over and we fill him in. A crowd has started to gather, but they rush over and grab Ms. Pierce, with Wayne's men immediately rushing for them.

Now's my chance. What should I do?

While the mess is up try to take wayne with us through the fire exit, silently, don't make a fuss just have him come with us if he doesn't want to involve his guests in this trouble.

Even the doorman is looking the other way at this point. Blackie and Vance have dropped Ms. Pierce, and they've pulled their guns in a standoff with the guards.

I quickly get inside and duck behind a pillar. There aren't many people around, most are a few rooms over, seated and getting ready for Wayne to begin his pitch. Suddenly I hear a huge explosion from a few blocks away- outside, I see the hospital going up in flames.

Two-Face fulfilled his end of the deal, so I just gotta get through that door, grab Wayne off the stage, and bolt. Just then, my phone vibrates. Thank god I silenced it, at least.

I head in through a back door and, from behind the crowd, see Wayne onstage, but it looks like he;s passing the podium off to what's-his-name, Luke, Lucas- Lucius Fox, that's right, head of WayneTech. Seems something's come up.

Fox takes the stage. I'm going to need to get after Wayne fast. The phone message turns out to be Blackie, saying they'd escaped Wayne's guys and have a getaway car pulled up around the back.

It might be smart to have them intercept Wayne, but I could still go at it myself- I decide to flip my grimy quarter again.

"So, you got ol' Brucie," he growls. "Get him in the car."

Just then, Wayne's men come around the side of the building. They start shooting, and Wayne makes a break for it.

It's actually a bit of a stroke of luck for us- now Wayne's men will tell the cops Batman is the one they're looking for.

I dodge the shots and tackle Wayne. He's stronger than I expected, though- the bullets pass above us, but Wayne's kick goes straight to my gut.

Thankfully, I'm armored. Two-Face and his men hold off the guards, and I make a leap for Wayne again. He ducks and heads for an alley.

I give chase. Two-Face yells but I can't hear him. Blackie comes running, though I don't need backup- it's just some rich guy running, even if he does know a few moves.

"Okay Black, pull over here," I say. "We're gonna check this body out, see if he's got anything on him we can use." Blackie stops the car and we hop out on the side of the road. The road we're on heads out to the interstate, so we should be clear from interference for a while. We drag the Bat's corpse out of the backseat and drop it on the ground.

"Can I take his mask off?" Blackie asks. "I mean, he's not using it. Might be someone we know." I think about it. "Sure," I say. "We couldn't find Wayne, may as well get something else out of this." Black reaches down and after a lengthy deliberation, tugs it off. The head is pretty fucked up from the wound, but the face is intact.

"...holy...shit," Blackie mutters. He stands up. "Can't be him. Can't be either of them." I examine the face closely, making sure it's who it looks like. "It's definitely Wayne. Makes sense, even. He couldn't get out of that alley, and in any case, who else would have the cash to put an operation like the Bat's together?"

Blackie thinks for a moment. "Well. What the hell are we supposed to do now?"

"We gotta get this out there. That Wayne is- was the Bat? This is huge. What about those kids that work with him? Are they the same kids Wayne adopted back in the day?" I'm even a little excited, before I realize that if all this is true, Blackie and I are about to be targets for every good and bad costumed freak in the city.

"We've got to be smart about this. Let people know Wayne is dead, but we need to be careful about who we want knowing he was the Bat, and knowing we were the ones who did it."

I get out the quarter and Black looks a little skeptical. "I'm not sure this is the kind of thing to leave to chance, man..." I flip it anyway, saying "I know what I'm doing."

"Alright, here we go." I unhook the utility belt from Wayne's waist and swap it with my own, placing all my own things into the empty pockets. I'm still reeling from the shock- after all, if it really is him, he did a damn fine job of hiding it. Then again, that would've been the point- who'd suspect a billionaire to care about the common innocent. It's insane.

"We should get out of here," Blackie says. He's right. But instead of continuing past on the interstate, we head back into the city- down to the GCPD building, where we pull up, under cover of the night, and drop Wayne's body, stripped of his identifying suit.

"Hang on," Blackie says. He leans out from the car and with his gloved finger draws a small figure of a bat with the blood still leaking from Wayne's head. He chuckles and we speed on, watching the doors open and two officers rush down to examine the corpse.

"We need a place to stay," I say. I consider heading back to Rhi's, though she might ask too many questions. We could always rustle up some of the old contacts, too.

Rhi's been calling me pretty consistently throughout the night, though I haven't had time to answer. She hates Gotham and she's made no secret of it, though to tell the truth I kind of like it here. No shortage of work, for sure.

I snap back to reality. Blackie has the wheel, and we decide ultimately to find our own place. >>35072
>>35137

Maybe we can tell Two-Face once things have blown over, but considering we left him pretty angry, neither Black nor I want to see him right now.

Instead we head to the Bowery. It's a more well-off area of the city than the Park Row streets I'm used to, but there's no shortage of broken-down, abandoned places.

Should we head to the apartment buildings, try to find a warehouse, or find somewhere like an abandoned toy factory or puzzlemaking building, where it's likely one of the freak criminals is hiding?
>>

I shoot Rhi a reply. "I'm fine, it's just that a few things came up while working. I'll be back soon enough." Not mentioning her offer seems like a cop-out, but them I'm not as enthusiastic about it as she seems to be.

In any case, Blackie and I soon set up camp in an old warehouse. We grab sleeping bags from our old hangouts and set up a small workbench, on which we place what we've got.

ITEMS:

-Batman's utility belt, containing a grappling gun, several batarangs, smoke pellets and several other gadgets we can't identify
-My empty S&W gun
-My smoke bombs
-Blackie's near-empty rifle
-A decently functional fake Batsuit
-A heavily damaged real Batsuit, whose cowl has a massive hole in the side

On my phone I can already see articles popping up online about Wayne's death. We search the Batsuit for tracking devices and find a few, which we promptly destroy.

We're safe for now, but likely shouldn't stay in one place for too long. After all, who knows what tomorrow'll bring.

Still, I feel like I left the thing with Rhi hanging a bit, and my coin tells me I should at least try to reassure her, so I shoot her another message.
I don't really believe it, and I'm pretty sure she doesn't either. Besides, I don't even need her- it's not like we need a place to stay.

But even as I set my phone down, I think. We just murdered Batman. THE Batman. I don't know for certain, but I'm pretty sure the guy was friends with gods.

I wake Blackie up and we head out onto the streets again, because we both realize more than ever that we're not safe anywhere.

>>35733

Blackie and I decided ultimately we'd be alright in the warehouse for the night, and while we were able to get in contact with the Penguin's people, they want us to head over to the Iceberg lounge first chance we get.

As we step out onto the streets, the sun, still low in the sky, casts the yellow light of dawn down on Gotham. It's not any less dangerous a city in the daytime, but at least everything's out in the open. During the night, we saw some movement over the ceiling windows in the warehouse- I'm pretty certain it was those kids the Bat kept, trying to pick up their tracker signal. Bruce Wayne's disappearance is all over the news, and most people seem to think Two-Face has him, as our old dual-headed friend managed to escape the cops. The Bat-Signal was up for hours last night, and I don't think it was ever answered. We need to protect ourselves.

It's still early morning, but the Penguin's men will probably let us in if we head over there. Alternately we can explore the city, maybe try to arm ourselves.

Since we were already holed up in the Bowery, Penguin's place is only a few blocks away. We trek over, watching Gotham's working world slowly crank to life. In the light, you could almost mistake Gotham for a nice place- at least if you ignore all the run-down broken shit.

I pop a couple quarters into the machine and grab a copy of the Gotham Gazette. "BRUCE WAYNE FOUND DEAD - Could The Batman Be Responsible?" They're the only news source reporting Wayne's death. It seems the GCPD released the information early this morning- everyone covering Two-Face's attack assumed he kidnapped Wayne. But the police are shifting their attention from Dent to the Bat- except for the Commissioner, who swears up and down Batman's innocent.

We may be able to play this to our advantage.

We enter through the large double doors, into a swanky ice-themed club. It's almost empty- few patrons of this place come in the morning- but a few staff members mill around below.

An usher approaches. "Can I help you, sirs?"
>>
>>45418
Fuck now, let's try and talk to the penguin shall we? Or at least one of his lieutenants.

"Yeah, uh, we talked to someone here about an appointment with the Penguin? Name of O'Neil." Penguin's guys knew us, so there was no use using a fake name. "Oh yes, of course," the usher says. "Right this way, sirs."

We're led to a back room, where the Penguin is preparing to exit onto the floor of the lounge. "Ah, O'Neil, Jackson," he says, nodding to Blackie and I. "You boys had something to tell me regarding the Batman?"

"Yes sir," I begin. "We recently came into the employ of a new player here in Gotham. He's looking for work, and last night he did what nobody's managed to do in this town since it all started: he killed the Batman."

The Penguin's eyes narrow. "What's this 'new player's' name? And do you have any proof of what you say he's done?"

Blackie produces the damaged Batsuit from the parcel he'd been holding and tosses it on the floor. "We tore it from his body. Our boss doesn't want just anybody knowing his name, but he's looking to get some employment, perhaps with an enterprising man like yourself." I grin. "What do you say, Mr. Cobblepot?"

The Penguin is silent, but his expression curls into a smile. At length he nods and hands us some papers. "Here is information on three jobs I've been unable to do myself while maintaining the legitimacy of this establishment. One involves Bruce Wayne's money, but if you've picked up this morning's Gazette you'll know it's become complicated. The other two concern the return of some valuable jewels of mine- a centerpiece of the lounge- that have been removed by a certain cat burglar, and a strike on the Black Mask gang, whose leader thought he could get away scot-free with a cache of weapons meant for my guards. If your boss has really managed to kill the Batman, these should be simple. Report back to me when you're finished for your payment."

We accept the information and head back outside. It's still morning, but the sun is a little higher in the sky. Blackie and I look over the jobs.

#1 - Acquire a sizable portion of Bruce Wayne's fortune, now being spread throughout trust funds and other charitable establishments.

#2 - Locate Catwoman's apartment and recover the stolen jewelry.

#3 - Find Black Mask, recover the intercepted guns, and do as much damage to his gang as possible.

Blackie and I consider the options, though there are plenty of other places to go in the city.
>>
>>46869
Wayne's fortune certainly seems pressing. If we are deciding what to do right now, that's it.

"Alright," I say. "We're going after Wayne's money first. Penguin's going to want it, but the way I see it we can get ahold of it all. Without Wayne using it, it'll be a hell of a lot harder for Penguin to track." We drop the suit off back at the warehouse and begin some research.

Some digging around using the computers at Gotham Library turns up some interesting information. Seems Wayne had a contingency plan for his money in the event of his death. Lucius Fox will be handling the majority of it, and it'll be distributed in ways to best help Gotham, but there's also a decent amount diverted off to various WayneTech-affiliated companies, most of which I look into and find to be shells. Most likely they're trying to move some of that cash to the rest of the Bat-crew.

I'm not sure if that means Fox knows the Bat's identity, but it's still a bargaining chip we can use against him. It's likely he's the one we'll have to talk to.

As we exit the library, two costumed freaks leap between rooftops above us. I recognize one as Robin, the punk kid that tags along with the Bat. The other is taller, in a bluish-black jumpsuit. Blackie identifies him as Nightwing.

They don't seem to be paying any attention to us, at least. I consider heading down to find Fox, or perhaps trying a different job. Besides those options, we're still free to explore.
>>

The two of us look up at the rooftop. The blue one- Nightwing- looks down at us. I give him a small wave and we start on down the street. Fox will just have gotten to work by now, most likely at WayneTech headquarters, located adjacent to Wayne Tower. A police car speeds by us, sirens blaring. Who knows where it's going.

The WayneTech building has an impressively large lobby, paid for by the unending funds of Gotham's favorite son. "Hello sirs, do you have an appointment?" the receptionist chirps. I walk up to the desk and I'm about to reply when Fox himself strides in from an adjoining room. "Yeah," I say. "With Mr. Fox here."

"I'm sorry, I'm very busy here," he says. "I've just been given quite a bit of responsibility." He starts to leave, so I need to say something that gets his attention quickly.

I quickly check the ceiling. There aren't any cameras, probably because Fox doesn't want anyone watching his work.

"Mr. Fox, we represent a business and financial security startup that does research into many companies' investments. We've tracked some of the late Mr. Wayne's deposits, and it seems
much of his money is being moved to shell companies for WayneTech. Why move the money elsewhere? If it's being used for WayneTech operations it can simply be use for transactions straight through WayneTech, correct?" I put on my best bureaucrat voice, and Fox's brow furrows. "So you boys came here to question Mr. Wayne's eccentricities?"

"Look," I say. "We're only offering to correct the redundancies. After all, if it was this easy for us to discover, it's only a matter of time before others start wondering why that money's got to be hidden." Fox gives a pretty humorless smile. "And I'm sure you two don't care in the least?" "Well, surely our services wouldn't be free, but we're only trying to help," I say, taking a seat in front of the desk.

Fox doesn't lose his odd smile.

Fox just laughs. "Maybe take your help to someone who needs it, boys. We can handle our affairs at WayneTech ourselves, even without Mr. Wayne."

I lean in close. "Look, we know about Wayne's 'other' operation. We know what that money went towards. All we want is to perhaps use some of it to help make Gotham a better place, just like he'd want." I expect Fox to drop his smile, but he keeps grinning like we're telling jokes. "Contrary to popular belief, most of this city's benefactors don't resort to blackmail. I'm assuming you two are looking for the money for different reasons." I begin to think of a retort, before I realize Fox isn't even looking at me- he's looking just behind me. I slowly chance a glance that way as well.

Blackie is on the floor, unconscious. Standing above him is the unmistakable blue figure of Nightwing. "I'm taking him to the GCPD," he says. "And if he knows anything about Bruce Wayne's death, I'm coming for you too."

Hefting Blackie's sleeping body over his shoulder, Nightwing disappears out the window. "Well," Fox chuckles. "Anything else you'd like to say?"

I leave the WayneTech building alone. The receptionist doesn't question where Blackie went.

Shit. I know him well enough that he won't talk under normal circumstances, but if they let the Bat-Kids do what they used to let the big guy do, well...
I don't have much time, so I return to the warehouse and make a few modifications. By the time I'm done, the real, legitimate Batsuit has been replaced with enough of my armor to look decent and work fully again. I have to use my own cowl- the original is far too damaged- but they look similar enough anyway.

For the first time, I take a good look at all the computerized options available in the suit. Most of them have been desynced from the main computer, something I figured would happen, but some of the locational technology is still intact and it says exactly where this main computer is located: directly beneath Wayne Manor. If I can get to it, I should be able to re-enable the suit's remote functions.

It's already noon by the time I step out into the street again. I use the Bat's grapple to leap up onto a rooftop, from which I survey the city. They're likely to have Blackie in the holding cell over at the GCPD, and there's a road leading out into the hills where Wayne lives, uh, lived. Two-Face is most likely still working from the Stacked Deck, and there are still two other Penguin jobs I haven't started.

The prehensile cloth in the Bat's cape stiffens out, and I coast down onto the street. Up ahead is the GCPD, and I keep watch for Nightwing, but he's either gone or inside.

Suddenly, someone on the street yells. "Hey, it's Batman! Everyone look!" People start to turn and come over. I'm in the middle of the road, and while no cars are coming, several citizens are snapping photos, until one walks directly up to me. "You killed Bruce Wayne," she says. "He was going to help me and my son get out of poverty, and you killed him. You left your god damn bat sign on him. How could you?" I reach down and wrench the manhole cover from its place, and answer her question by leaping down and shutting it behind me.

Alright. Thanks to a few unpleasant times here, I'm familiar with the basement access in the building. It's where the power access fuses are, but there's also a backup generator, in the building proper. I head down the sewer corrider and with the Batsuit's added armor, can force a door open that leads directly into the basement itself. Blackie's somewhere above me, top floor I think, so I need to move fast. Instead of hitting any switches I just sever all the cords leading to the board with a batarang and ascend the staircase as quick as I can.

The windows are open on the ground floor of the GCPD, but as I'm smack in the center of the building it's still pitch dark. I activate the night vision, transplanted from the old cowl to mine, and see several cops stumbling around in the darkness. I'll need to move quickly.

What's my next move? If it involves attacking anyone, roll 1d20 for accuracy.

Sorry man, just one roll

The nearest officer is in my sights. If he keeps going he'll bump into me, so I quickly evade and duck in close behind him. One floor up I can hear some sputtering- they're trying to start the generator. Quickly, I reach in for his neck.

At that moment my phone rings loud and clear, the ringtone I assigned exclusively to Rhi. Fuck. The cop turns around just as the lights flicker to life. "Batman!" he yells, and the others look in my direction. The bullets start coming just as I manage to get behind a cubicle, but I'm pinned down and the stairs up are across the room.

What now?

I hurl a smoke bomb down and toss a batarang. It's a hard throw, and manages to swing around, hitting the first cop and continuing on to smash a window. They can't see, so they run to the window and one yells "Don't let him escape!" In the confusion I rush across and almost run up the stairs before instead grabbing one of the ventilation covers and tearing it off.

I clamber inside and as the smoke clears, I can hear several cops gearing up to hunt me down outside. Climbing through the system, I find it's linked to the second and third floors. Should I enter the second and take out the generator or go to the third floor to rescue Blackie straightaway?

I kick the vent cover out and it clatters into the far wall. The few cops that haven't run downstairs in the commotion try to aim at me, but the place goes dark when I rip the paneling and wiring straight off of the generator.

There are only two of them, and they're approaching from opposite sides. If I take them out now I'll have less resistance trying to rescue Black, but taking them on will be an effort I may not want to chance.

If I take them on roll 2d20 for each one, +5 for darkness on both, or I can simply escape through the vent.

In the darkness, I don't have much trouble sneaking around behind them and slamming their heads together before placing both knees on their windpipes and pressing. I feel a slight twinge of guilt for killing, like always, before remembering that these guys are Gotham cops. They're likely on Penguin or Black Mask's payroll and cheating on their wives or something.

I take the stairs this time and ascend to the third floor. It's a more closely packed hallway, down which I can see the interrogation room. Most of the cops have vacated the area, but I detect five heat signatures- the cop coming down the hallway towards me, two in the Commissioner's office, Blackie, and another one in the interrogation room with him.

What's my move?

>>
>>54539
Nah man, in my opinion, you go one of two ways:

1. You ursurp batman's role as a vigilante, but you actually are a real life vigilante. cops hate you, people love you, murder criminals in public displays and straight up kill anybody you view as unjust

2. become your own beast. Batmans dead, and since danny o'neills the one who killed him, time for him to become a badass.
>>
>>54566
I'd rather not become MurderBats. I'd like to see us do something of our own making, not some trope of "Evil Batman"

Having said that, we should loot the shit out of his stuff that we can get ahold of

like i said, i prefer option 3 of just murdering the supernatural out of the entire setting.
for every "good guy" they can and will easily fuck up everything because thats the status quo, heroes fucking suck because even if they mean well and won't ultimately break the universe, they could be mind controlled to do so, and bad guys clearly need to go or they will break the universe as well.

I mean his views go on about him feeling guilty but then "Yeah but they were scum so it was okay".

In the end the most fitting would be to take the mantle, and use it as a symbol to assert what Danny thinks he is: above everyone else. So basically, a mix of murder Bats, crime boss and dictator/lex luthor, taking down anything to get himself to the top of the food chain.

I duck and flatten myself against the wall. The guard is coming closer, and might see me soon, so I engage the glove tactility functions. I'm able to cling to the ceiling using a few small spikes for only a couple of seconds, but it's enough for the cop to pass, down the stairs. I drop to the ground and sneak towards the interrogation room. As I pass the commissioner's office, I can hear Gordon yelling to one of his men that it isn't Batman, that it can't be. I consider busting in, but I've got a job to do.

I carefully open the door to the double-mirror room, careful to make as little noise as possible. It's empty, but I've got a clear view of the interrogation room itself.

It's not a cop in there with Blackie- it's Nightwing, leaning over him and yelling. The kid looks seriously agitated, and I don't blame him, but Black doesn't look like he's talking. Then again, in my experience this kid was never as forceful as his pointy-eared mentor.

I aim to leap through the glass and take Nightwing down in one move. Roll 1d20 for the success of my attack.

The nice thing about these Bat-undies is that they show off my impressive bulge

I smash straight through the window, and while I can't see to grab Nightwing, I land an impressive kick to his chest, knocking him to the floor. I land a punch to his face while he's down, and another kick for good measure.

Nightwing is winded but alive, and I've got mere seconds to free Blackie. I cut the ropes tying him to the chair- seems the kid really didn't want his hands free- and the two of us rush to the door. Behind us Nightwing gets to his feet and yells. "YOU'RE NOT BATMAN!"

I spin and unload the last clip from Blackie's rifle directly into his chest.

Nightwing collapses to the floor, blood covering his front side. I don't know if he's dead, but he's definitely down (my roll determines his condition). We've got to run immediately.

As we rush down the hallway, Gordon comes out of his office.

Blackie catches his rifle, though it's empty, and I hurl a batarang straight at Gordon's head. It sticks there and he collapses. I think he's dead, but we don't have time to check. The two of us slide down the stairs, all the way down to the basement, where we break back into the sewers and don't stop running.

After a quite a while, we're clear of the police' movements and we clamber up a ladder and out into the waning sunlight. "Thank you, man," Blackie says. "It was a fuckin' rookie mistake, letting him sneak up on me, I'm sorry." I pull my cowl down. "You're good, it was nothing," I say, though I'm still catching my breath. "No, but," Blackie starts, "He was crazy. Like, real crazy. I think we might've fucked up big time here, Dan." As the interminable sound of police sirens continue several streets away, I look him dead in the eyes and say "You think?"

"Look, in any case we just need to regroup and come up with a plan. Wayne's money is being transmitted digitally, so we'll either need to break into WayneTech- they didn't trust it with banks- or try to hack it remotely, but their security is higher than anything I've ever seen." Black nods. "Danny, Wayne's cash is important, but I'm thinking we need a better place to hide. This shit is heating up fast."

I know he's right. Two-Face is pissed at us, Batman's crew is pissed at us, Penguin will be pissed if we don't get back to him, and the entire GCPD just made us public enemies number one and two.

Back at the warehouse, we do some more research and arm ourselves. Blackie picked up a few more clips from a couple friends, so his rifle's fully loaded with plenty of extra ammo. We'll need it, because the current plan consists of storming Wayne Manor and finding whatever's underneath it. I tell Black about the computer and how I can access more functions of the suit if we access it, as well as what else has to be down there- it's the Batman's hideout.

We wait for cover of darkness, though we know
that who we're going up against will be using it to their advantage as well. While we plan the logistics- Wayne Manor has entrances on all four sides- I get a text.

Rhi: Dan, I just saw something on the news. Batman broke into the police department and killed a bunch of cops, only some people took cell phone footage of him before he went in, and that wasn't Batman, that was you.
Rhi: What the hell is going on?

Once the sun's down, we head out for the manor, but first Blackie stops off at the GCPD building. With my grapple, I get to the top of the roof. A cop- his nametag says Corrigan- is having a smoke, but I send a batarang straight into his throat. He chokes out "you... you..." before wheezing a couple times, and then he's gone. I pick him up by the head and smear his neck across it a few times, then hit the switch. By the time the police are on the roof, Blackie and I are already on the way to the Manor.

We pull up in front of the house. It's impressively huge, more like a castle than anything, and there's a huge main entrance, but more than likely there are Bat-folks inside.

What do we do?

>>55415
>>55501
you guys are better writers than me
>>
>>55548
We should make sure Rhi can't shit on our plans. Send a message for her and tell her we don't know what she's talking about but we can meet to discuss that.

Anyway, Wayne Manor is a tough-ie. We should probably head straight for the main entrance while Blackie sneaks on them and gives us covering fire. There is no point in trying to go past Wayne's security, the best we can do is distract them and use our little arsenal.

I pull out my phone and shoot her a quick text, then make sure to leave it in the car.

Dan: Yeah, I saw the story too. He looked a hell of a lot like me, but how could I even start doing that?
Dan: Look, I swear I'll come by tonight as soon as I'm finished with work. We can talk then.

Blackie looks over at me. "Man, we're the guys who killed Bruce Wayne, now we're hanging out in front of Wayne Manor, and you're texting?" I pull my cowl down and cough. "Yeah, it's Rhi. She's just worried about me." Blackie scoffs skeptically, then says "Are you ready to do this?" We both open our doors and step out. The night is cold and dark, but that's what we're counting on.

>>55603
Blackie moves forward through the main gates, his gun level. I grapple over a wall to the side and sneak behind some bushes. The moon casts a cold white light across the front lawn, but everything is silent. We edge closer to the house itself until I find myself pressed up against its side wall. I can't see Black, but I think he made it to the entrance. We're nearly in.

There's a door immediately next to me. Should I enter or try to curve around to another one?
>>
>>55793
Do we have one of those explosive gels from the Arkham games?
We could set some up on the door and then curve around to the other one, this way we have a backup plan in case we need a distraction.

I search the belt's pockets for some sort of detonator and while there's no gel, I find a small, remote-activated explosive pellet, which I affix to the door.

Rounding the corner of the mansion, I can see the backyard's furnished with an extensive garden and swimming pool, surrounded by a huge hedge maze. It's beautiful in the moonlight, but it's not why I'm here. The door is locked at first, but seems to detect my glove and opens with a light click. Across the foyer I can see Blackie fiddling with the front doors, and I'm about to cross the room and open it when I hear movement. A few glances around yield nothing. I switch to thermal imaging, but I've only got Blackie. Either I'm imaging things or they're jamming my detectors.

I cross anyway and manage to get to the door without event. But as soon as I get it open, Blackie yells "BEHIND YOU!" I duck to the ground inmediately, and Black fires off a few shots. The massive interior of the mansion is lit up for a few seconds, and I catch sight of something small and red, moving incredibly quickly.

I analyze my best chances for taking on Robin.

The explosive door's on my far right, and I'm not anywhere near it, so I duck down and hurl some batarangs. "You're not Batman, and you'll never be," I hear the kid say from across the room. "You'll pay for usurping his mantle." Hmm, more verbose than I remember this kid being. He's smaller, too. Doesn't matter. Blackie hands me his gun and he ducks down in the doorway.

I run towards the far side door, set to explode, firing off rounds at the small swinging figure dashing around the room. He's above me, then he's to my side. The kid's far too nimble to track, and my heat sensors don't pick him up. Considering they've limited how much of the suit's functions I can use, I'm not surprised, but the little guy's leaping around all over. Finally I throw myself down near the side door, and hurl my gun straight at the small figure. He dodges nimbly, then leaps again, this time landing right in front of me.

I get a good look at the kid- he's not even twelve. "You killed my father, I'm certain of it. And you killed Grayson, and the police commissioner. They were insufferable, but they were my family, and I am going to make you feel pain like you have never felt pain before."

He's a cocky little dude. Blackie's picked up the rifle and is leveling it at Robin's head, waiting for my signal. The kid turns his head, noticing my line of sight, and makes a leap for Blackie.

Roll 1d20 for Black's accuracy.

Blackie misses every shot, and Robin lands directly on top of him, shoving him to the ground and pressing a batarang against his neck. "Black, brace yourself!" I yell, and dive away as the explosive pellet detonates. The architecture of the manor is impressively sound- the hole is relatively small- but the force knocks Robin off Blackie and onto his back. Blackie's mostly shielded from the blast by Robin, and immediately stands and puts a boot on the kid's neck. "You're both going to die, you know," Robin says. "Yeah, you first, kid," Black snarls, and shoves his foot down as hard as he can.

Picking up his gun, Blackie mutters something about needing to learn how to shoot, but he thanks me for having the foresight to plant the bomb. The mansion is silent again, until I notice the telltale buzz of a zooming camera. We're being watched. Sure enough, I hear an upstairs door creak open, and two sets of footsteps are coming from it. We dash into an adjacent room, which turns out to be the library, and we duck behind a couch. The footsteps are coming down the foyer stairs and moving out into the center of the big room.

How do we proceed?

It would need some extra, like a short origin for Danny's dickishness and original plan to smear the Bat's reputation. Also Blackie's loyalty

I think army grunt with Blackie, came back couldn't find an honest job, threw it in with Falcone. Became increasingly jaded/disillusioned with humanity.
Eventually the Bat comes and crashes it, this means the boys ate back out on the street, but while Blackie just went and threw his lot in with the other thugs, Danny obsessed over the Bat for the better part of year, making a crazy plan with uh... Reasons.
Anyway, the comic would need to show just how bomblinh our protagonists are, also would need to expand on stuff, like dialogue and scenery (different medium).
Also, on facial expressions I just imagine Danny's face is only slightly contorted, with eyes staring deeply into whatever it is he is looking at, a kind of "calm fury".
>>
>>57603
Can this be Canon?

Maybe Danny got injured by The Bat and that's why he couldn't get another Job so it lead to him obsessing over it, that caused his relationship with Rhi to fall apart and now he's been getting himself back together.

She kinda wants to get back together but we've only been pulling ourselves together to get back at The Bat...but why did we want Bruce?
>>
>>57606
He wanted to steal bruce's cash, kill him, and pin it on Batman, then use the money to wage war on the Bat, or maybe just fix his life.
But after killing Batman and putting on the suit he steadily became more convinced (unconsciously) that he IS the Batman, hence why he is spiraling down so fast.

I stick my head out from behind the library's couch, very slowly, and angle myself to get a good look at the two figures. One is wearing a red suit and a dark cowl, similar to mine- except without the ears, and the other has a distinct bright red helmet on. He's also carrying two Glocks, from the look of it. "I can't believe this," the cowled one says, but the other doesn't seem interested in talking. He kneels over Robin's body, either checking for a pulse or paying his respects.

I don't know if these are more Bat-kids and I don't care. I tell Blackie to look for a way to escape through the library- it looks like a dead end- and I hurl a smoke bomb directly at them. In an instant it throws up a massive cloud of viscous, soupy smoke, and while my thermal can't pick them up, I can see them moving around in it.

They're coming towards my position.

"Dan!" Black yells. "I found something! I think it's an exit!" But I don't look at him; instead I keep the gun leveled at the hooded figures rushing towards us.

Should I try to escape with Blackie or fire on them? If the latter, roll for accuracy.

For me, that origin is kind of ok, but I don't like idea that he "became obsessed" with Bat. We don't need another psycho with a boner for bat. What it makes story more interesting is that Batman only sort of got into easy of Danny's plan. Killing him was only collateral damage.

You make a lot of sense actually, it'd be more interesting if we just killed the Bat as collateral.

I open fire on them, not letting up until the clip's completely empty. The smoke clears, and both of them are on the ground. The one in the cowl is motionless, but I can see the other one twitching, trying to get up. There's no time to reload, so I run over to Blackie. "Dan, look- I was trying to find a door or something, but this is better- the grandfather clock opens up." He gives it a heavy push and it slides aside on tracks, revealing a narrow passageway in the wall. Neither of us feel like sticking around to wait for them, so we edge through onto a metal staircase leading downwards.

Holy shit. As we descend, the cramped rocks open up into a massive cavern, furnished with a large frame composed of several platforms. On the largest one, a massive computer looms high. above, and various vehicles are positioned on some of the others.

Then there's what seems to be a gallery, with several different Batsuits, a huge penny, and even a gigantic replica Tyrannosaurus. It's insane- the fact that Wayne had this under his house all along is crazy.

"Damn," Blackie mutters, utterly dumbstruck. Just then I take notice of something- sitting at the computer, in a small seat and typing something, I can see a man. He looks not elderly but older, and he's wearing a nicely tailored suit. Even from behind I recognize him as Alfred, Wayne's butler.

How do we proceed?

Shoot Alfred. He is too dangerous.
Then proceed with attempts to steal bats equipment. Try to hack computer, but there are probably going to be lots of security measures.

BLAM.

My single warning shot goes straight up and lodges some rocks loose from up above. I clear my throat. "I'm giving you one chance to step away from the computer and lie down on the ground. If you don't, believe me, I won't miss."

Alfred turns. His face is heavy, tears glisten on his cheeks. "I suppose you sirs are the ones responsible, then," he says in a tone more resigned than accusatory. "On the ground," I snarl. "Now."

"Yes, yes, I heard the first time," the butler says. He kneels and holds his hands up. "You, sirs, have in the past two days destroyed my life, my son's life, the lives of the best individuals I have ever known, and the lives of countless citizens of Gotham." Blackie comes down the stairs. "I managed to block it off. One of them's trying to get in, but we've got a few minutes." I nod, then turn back to the butler.

"I do not know how you managed it," he continues, "And I won't pretend to know why." He looks up. "Kill me, kill my colleagues, do whatever you wish. All I ask is that you tell me. What brought this upon you? What made you so determined to destroy the only good this city has?"

"Wish I knew," I say, and then I shoot him.

The computer's already logged in, so I try to access the remote suit control first. There's a loud crash from the stairs and I see the red-hooded man sliding down them, his guns out.

How do we engage?

I immediately fire off two shots, one a square hit and one a graze. He's thrown to the ground by the impact, and I duck behind a few crates. Blackie's still out in the open, but he wisely dives for the floor. The Red Hood's guns flare, but he doesn't get up. I think his leg's injured.

I provide some covering fire for Blackie to get behind the crates with me, and the gunfire ceases. I hear him dragging himself across the room and pushing a few buttons on the huge keyboard. When I stand, he doesn't shoot. Instead he turns and starts to speak. "Listen. I know I look great, but I used to be dead." He's covered in blood and his voice is raspy, breathing heavily. "But I came back because of something called the Lazarus Pit. I was dead and now I'm alive and when Batman comes for you, you're all dead." He hits the enter key on the computer, then makes a flying leap, off the platform and into the depths of the cave.

I'm able to use the computer to open up several containers full of gear. Black opens his bag and starts collecting as much of it as he can. In the meantime, I search the computer to see the full extent of what Wayne was running here.

Damn. There's a massive database of every criminal in the city- hell, the country- and sure enough, Blackie and I are in it. In fact, we're two of the most recently searched profiles, which can't be a good sign. I delete them, then search for more. There are several functionalities I set to be available remotely from the suit, such as control of his plane and his car, and various other automated security measures. I make certain we have control of all of them.

There's direct access to the WayneTech servers as well, and quite a bit of Wayne's money is still there- billions, in fact- so I quickly set up a fake account and transfer every last penny to it. Even though I delete history of the transaction, I won't have much time before they notice the money's disappearance. Still, the dosh'll help- check one Penguin job.

After some more digging, I find a set of protocols- triggered by several codes I promptly download onto the system. I'm not certain what they are, but they're marked "JUSTICE," and seem important.

Suddenly, a giant green symbol appears on the screen- it appears to be a face of some kind. "Hold it there," a distorted female voice warns, "You're done."

I can hear sirens up above. Black grabs his bag and we dash up to the surface, to see police cars surrounding the outside of the Manor. "Batman! Come out with your hands in the air!" the megaphone blasts.

I hurl a batarang through a window and duck the hail of bullets sent in through it. Instead I leap through a different one, hurl a smoke bomb, grab Blackie, and grapple to a tree. As we land behind the line of cars, Black jumps into the car and starts it immediately. By the time the police realize we passed them, we're already on the way back into the city.

"That was too damn close," Black mutters, catching his breath. "We need a new plan."

Let's handle Rhi first then we think of our next move. Set up a meeting with her at her somewhere públic then we go track her after she leaves the home and intercept her for our talk before she reaches the meeting place, thus avoiding anyone tracking our digital print.

But remember, there is probably surveillance up at her home. Consider that they probably know it was us, as indicated by the last update, so surveillance on known associates is a given.
Oracle is a pro, and with her dad(s) out she will pull all she can on us.

Also surprised the criminals and league haven't gone batshit by now.

Some time later, I'm standing in the street, in front of the tenement that houses Rhi and up until recently, myself. The Batsuit's back at the warehouse with Blackie, who's trying to figure out all its functions. I gave him some time alone to come see her, and I hope I can set things right.

I told her to meet me at the cafe a few blocks away, but instead I duck into an alley and wait for her. I didn't see any cameras there or here, but there's rarely a way to tell when someone's watching.

While we were at the warehouse, Black managed to rig up a TV with some working antennae he found, and we were able to watch the news cycle. The panic over Wayne's death has died down somewhat, and those who actually cared about him have begun to mourn. There's been confusion in the criminal underworld about whether Batman's gone rogue or died himself, thanks to some rumors spread by Penguin's crew, but earlier that night, the Justice League of America released a video.

"We regret that we must confirm the news of Batman's death. He was our friend, compatriot, and teacher," says Superman's face on the screen. "Know that we will not rest until we have found his killer and brought them to justice." Superman. THE Superman. This has gotten far too big, and both Blackie and I know it. If we can't get a handle on this soon, it's going to be the deaths of both of us.

I snap myself out of my reverie as I glimpse Rhi walking by. "Hey!" I call, and she turns. "Dan? What the hell are you doing in there?" "Well," I start, "I figured making you walk all that way just to talk would be kinda mean, don't you think?" She coughs skeptically, but she's smiling. Then she looks up, smile gone. "Did you see the news? They're saying Batman's dead. Care to tell me what's going on?"

"Just come home after all this, please? I won't bother you about money or work or any of that. I just want you to come home to me in one piece." I nod, still a bit surprised. "Yeah. Yeah, no problem."

Back at the warehouse, Blackie and I continue to plan. We've got a Batsuit equipped with remote controls for all those huge vehicles we saw in the Bat's cave, plus several other defense functions we can use to our advantage. Failing those, Blackie's rifle is still perfectly workable, plus all the gadgets we've got in addition. All things considered we're pretty formidable, and while Blackie doesn't have the knowledge of the suit like I do, he's grateful for the armor lining my custom-made one, which he's currently wearing.

Earlier I sent Rhi a text telling her to call me if she ever finds herself in danger, something I figured she'd do anyway. That covered, we consider our options.

-The Wayne fortune is ours, at least for the moment, so we could use it to try to outfit ourselves with even stronger equipment
-We could go back to Penguin and inform him of our progress, or maybe double-cross him like we thought about
-We could try going about the other jobs Penguin gave us
-The city's large, and plenty of lowlife crazies are hiding around in it; we could look for one to help or kill
-We could go about researching the Justice League

Okay here is the idea:
Blackie researches the JL and sees if he can track down Catwoman and Black Mask for the penguin jobs. Basically he acquires info.
Meanwhile we'll go and finish taking the Wayne money from Fox.

We'll plan what else once we regroup with info and cash to spare.
I'm thinking we should find a way to contact Lex Luthor, he's the guy who might have shit to help us against the league.
We should also research those JUSTICE code things.

Fuck me let's also make a to do list:
>Prepare more equipment for the future fights and better safehouse(s)
>Acquire info on our enemies (JL, Oracle, Criminals)
>Do some odd-jobs to get the trust of Penguin and get some extra cash, we'll use this to play the criminals of Gotham against each other

Can we contact Lex to help us for free? I think he's not a 4chan janitor.

Just saying saiyan

You make a fair point, if we want to set our alone then we'd need that money.

We could do Penguins other jobs....for ourselves
>>
>>60411
i'd rather have penguin on our side. yes, he's not batman, but at the same time he has very different and dirtier means to get us.

we could always give him some of the money and say that we were interupted by nightwing and robin before the rest could be passed or something like that.

There is also the fact he thinks we work for a new big shot. That counts for something I think.

-While using the fortune seems like a godo idea, I can't help but feel that Oracle may track the money back to us.
-The Penguin is a nice idea, we might as well work to improve our cred. We just need to stay low.
-Assuming we do find the Penguin and don't get captured/killed, it would be a good idea to do some work for him until we can get some mooks for ourselves.
-Maybe wait until we get a better reputation
-Again, I'm not sure that's a good idea considering that Oracle might be watching.

Thus:
>We could go back to Penguin and inform him of our progress, or maybe double-cross him like we thought about
>We could try going about the other jobs Penguin gave us

"Okay, listen up Black- we need Penguin on our side, but we're not giving up this money. Instead we're going to use it, and we're going to defend ourselves against the Justice League. You heard what Superman said, and if we don't equip ourselves soon they'll find us and I don't think they'll be exactly forgiving."

Blackie shakes his head. "Superman." He's silent for a minute before looking up and saying "I got us some food, but man it's late. I need some shut-eye or I'm gonna pass out." I nod, he tosses me a can, and we eat in silence. I can't stop thinking about what we need to do next. If we expect to survive, every single move needs to be planned in advance. After we're done Blackie heads over to the TV and switches it on. The news is still going, but they're showing various notable people's words about the announcement of Batman's death.

One of them catches my ear. It's a video put up online from Gotham about an hour ago. I don't know what the image is- looks like some kind of dead animal- but I recognize the crazed, theatrical voice immediately.

Hello there Gotham! It's come to my attention that somebody from our pretty little town has gone ahead and done it- offed the Bat-freak, for good! I know, it sounds glorious- but this little upstart doesn't seem to understand the rules in this town. I'd like to meet him! Then carve a nice big smile into his face.

Blackie pales. He lies down on his bedroll and tries to sleep. I sit for a while and keep watch, but I leave the TV on for a bit longer. After the remembrance segment is over, it cuts to footage of the Gotham streets. Fires are starting, people are throwing riots. Hell, I'm even starting to hear the noise from outside the warehouse. The gangs are filling the streets- Two-Face, Black Mask and even Penguin seem to be dropping their pretenses and just taking whatever they want.

We both underestimated the impact the Bat had on this city. Without him, there's nothing higher, nobody to judge whether something's right or wrong. Blackie sleeps fitfully, but I can't- I don't dare.

[OOC: Hey QM, I really appreciate your work, really interesting quest and then way you present characters and their dialogue - fucking A, you should sign up for DC]

Anyway, what are out options?
>>
>>63341
Fuck if they're going ahead with that then we need to proceed with the league stuff.
We need to know the current rooster and whatever enemies they have, and find a way to contact them.
Brainiac, Luthor, Cheetah, Black Adam, Sinestro, whoever the fuck we can find a way to contact. Batman is dead so if they want to get rid of the league then the fight to come is their best hope.

Basically let's see if we can pit the big guys against each other

Alternatively we could go out and take down the criminals and see if that gives the league some stop to catch themselves and think "What the shit is up"

It's morning. I wake up- though I can't remember when I fell asleep. Blackie's already up, getting his things together. He's equipped himself with several gadgets stolen from Batman's cave, and we stocked up on ammo- my pistol's fully loaded with magazines to spare. We're going through with the plan- we're going back to talk to Penguin. I'll try come up with some bullshit excuse, but I've set aside an amount that will satisfy him if need be. Hopefully we can keep most of this cash for ourselves.

I look out onto the street- another day dawns where I'm surprised to still be alive. There have been too many of those lately. The streets are nearly empty, but there's a lot of damage- storefronts are busted in, there are burn marks all over. It looks like Hell passed through here on a vacation. I'm not entirely certain what happened last night, and even though a lot of it seemed like civil unrest, I know the gangs are mobilizing. That's another problem with talking to Penguin, we weren't able to get the guns from Black Mask before last night's attack. Hopefully he isn't too torn up over it.

I look back inside at Blackie. "You ready?" He slings his gun over his back. "You focus on yourself, Dan." We head out into the sunlit streets, masks off but armor on. As we walk, I think. "Any one member of the Justice League could kill the both of us in an instant. The only reason we're still alive is because of how low-profile we've managed to stay. Breaking into Wayne Manor, though, it was sloppy. They're going to find us soon." Blackie doesn't look at me. "Yeah, Dan. I know." He hangs his head. "My mom's still in the nursing home, y'know. They don't let me see her because of my record. I mean, my sister pays for it, and she told me she never wanted to see me again. Just like the rest of the family." He's silent for a moment. "What if I died here, in Gotham? Would they tell her? Hell, would they tell anyone? Superman could land in front of us and turn us to vapor in seconds, and who would know?"

We walk the rest of the way to the Iceberg Lounge in silence. We're led in as usual, like last time, and informed the Penguin's been waiting for us. When we're led into his room, he wears an angry expression. "Hello, boys. Last night the Black Mask led an offensive that came dangerously close to my territory. I see you don't have any guns in tow. Please, at lest tell me you've made some progress."

How do I answer?

>>63449
Thanks man I appreciate it

>>63677
Hoo boy we're way out of their league at this point
>>
>>63763
>out of their league
Batman is dead.
Gotham is up in flames.

Find Batman's data on the JL and check every single one of their weaknesses, send messages to Luthor telling him someone with his intellect could easily finally do what we did, with Superman.
Villains are suprisingly easy to influence.

Anyway:
Respond with "Well the robins are all out of the picture and we're now on the clear to make any actions without repercussion. Now we can operate directly against Black Mask and there is no one to crash that party. We've also got some extra "gear" to make sure Sionis won't know what hit him"

Actually don't respond with this. Wait for the other posters to give their opinions kek.
>>
>>63794
I s'pose what I meant by 'out of their league' was that Danny doesn't really know how to contact Luthor. He doesn't exactly have his email address etc. we'll get to it soon though
>>
>>63840
i don't think it would be exactly hard to contact someone like luthor. i mean, we could google him up, dig an email from there and send a cheaply made cryptic message.
>>
>>63840
Oh, true enough.
I just assumed Batman knew how to get to them.

That would be kinda silly though.

reminds me of that batman game that has Luthor callling Bruce Wayne about buying Wayne tech
>>
>>63885
>>63840
And bruce just lets all the calls on voicemail*
Because fuck Luthor.
>>
Well guys we did it, we pissed everybody alive off.
My suggestion is going full on nutso.
>>
>>65138
We need a new thread anf an archival
>>
Why would we even bother messaging luthor? Lets just post the justice league protocols on the internet and make them public
>>
>>65604
That would mean making sure they know we know and can prepare.
Babylon only worked because they had the element of surprise
>>
>>65659
>Babylon
Babel
Fuck me been watching too much FATE
>>
>>65659
That's true for most of the JLA so what about just superman?
>>
>>65706
Not bad. We could always just keep the secret plans secret and instead release their secret identities/associates.
>>
>>65822
Nice repeating digits sir.
I support this, lets release their identities. Maybe we can sell them to the penguin? Or hell, the highest bidder.

"We struck the Batman's hideout. The Robins are dead and we're near the point where we can do whatever we want. We're going to operate directly against Black Mask." Penguin nods. "But what about the money?" "We've gotten ahold of some of it, though we still need to handle Lucius Fox." Penguin grins. "Great. Do you have it with you?"

I adopt a grin of my own. "Our boss figures he can put the money to better use. He'll be keeping ahold of it, thank you. Unless you want the man who killed Batman after you." Penguin scowls, but concedes. "Look, I'll make a trade. You can keep Wayne's cash, however much you get. But killing Batman be damned- if you don't kill Black Mask and get my things from Catwoman, my crew will be moving on you and your boss as well. Understand?" I give him a bitter laugh, but agree that the jobs are still open. "We'll be seeing you, Penguin."

Back at the warehouse, Blackie works on improving his equipment while I search through the suit's functionality. The JUSTICE protocols required a password, but it wasn't difficult to engineer a reverse-remote control to unlock functions of the computer from the suit. I press the button on the glove and it gives me a screen within the cowl's eyepiece- a comprehensive list of the Justice League's attributes.

It happens to include their real names.

"Blackie, look at this," I say, displaying it on the wall with the suit's projection. "I don't know any of these names," he grunts, and I don't either. Clark Kent is apparently a reporter in Metropolis, but he's also Superman? It almost seems like a strange joke. Hal Jordan, ex-fighter pilot, is the Green Lantern? It's a lot of information and I don't know what to do with it all.

Then I look over at Blackie, and he's taking notes. "This is where it starts," he says. "We know who they are. We know what will hurt them. And once they're out of the way, what's left?" I get an uneasy feeling in my stomach, so I step outside for a minute to get some air.

I feel like doing something different, as the sun pulls overhead. We have all this information, and I need to do something with it. That, or I could take on Black Mask or perhaps Catwoman. I also remember Joker's message on the TV, and realize he's in this city with us, too, somewhere.

Hey Op just saying but you might wanna move us to a new thread.
Take the new update and make a new one cuz this one is on page 10 and dropping.

Also I archived it.
>>
>>67129
I think we can just hold onto the JL stuff for now, things are a mess
Let's go with taking down Black Mask, if we end him we might as well convert his asset into ours, plus Penguin will be pleased with neutralized his enemy.
Then we can track down Selina.
>>
>>67129
we gotta get a hold of luthor pretty badly, also penguin may or may not be interested in shitting on the JL and getting the ability to bribe shit.
anyways we should get to killing the shit out of black mask since killing is what we do amazingly retardedly well.
>>
>>67154
thanks and I agree, will get home in a minute and can start the new one then.
