You are Kraton Reed, Jedi Lord of Telos IV

At a time when the Republic was merely a shadow of its former self and the Sith terrorized much of the Galaxy, you chose to strike back. Breaking from protocol, you gathered together a small group of likeminded Jedi Knights and raised your own army. You launched a crusade against the Sith Empire and managed to liberate the Outer Rim world of Telos IV. The people of this world now look upon you as their Lord and their protector in these dark times…

Your foes seem to lurk all around you, some closer than you would have thought possible. While you were in the middle of planning your next move against the Sith, an assassin attacked you in the night. You emerged the victor of said duel, and with the help of your Knights Trask and Lo Rai the Sith Assassin was captured.

After winning this fierce battle, Reed now looks again to the war in front of him. Two planets stand out, the nearby world of Mirial which he has vowed to liberate from the tyranny of the Sith, and the more obscure world of Ferro where a secret Sith base lies. With the help of his Republic ally, Jedi Padawan Fianna, he was able to put together a strike team to conduct reconnaissance work on the Sith-controlled planet of Ferro.

However, before the team can be sent out Reed must decide who should lead the scouting party. As it happens, the leader who would have been most suitable to lead such a mission would have been Trask, who is currently resting after losing his arm in battle against the Sith Assassin who nearly claimed your life. Fortunately, the Trandoshan’s arm will grow back in time but that does present an issue with what Reed should do now.

>Who does Reed send to lead the scouting party on the Sith World of Ferro?

>Trask might have been injured, but he is still the best candidate to lead the recon mission.
>We can’t risk losing Trask on such a dangerous mission, send another Jedi Knight to lead the mission. (Write-in who)
>There is no need to send a Jedi Knight, a competent soldier will be selected instead

You briefly consider undertaking this mission to Ferro yourself, seeing as how important it’s success will impact your stratagems. However, pressing matters at home need to be attended to and you simply can’t leave certain things unchecked while you go searching for Sith in the woods.

You instead decide to send out Jaina Charr to lead this mission. She was wildly successful when she and Trask journeyed to Mirial together, so she is an obviously solid choice to lead another recon mission.

When Trask hears that Jaina is being sent out he all but demands that he go along too, claiming that he would know how to survive in the wilderness despite his injuries. Jaina quickly assuages his fears and claims that she’ll have the whole base scouted well before his arm grows back.

You oversee Jaina’s departure as she boards a starfighter along with a dozen of your best commandos.

“Good luck Jaina, may the Force be with you.”

>”Heh, thanks Kraton. Sorry in advance if I come back again with more refugees. I’ll see if they have any other nice ships for us while I’m at it.”

The wily Correllian girl salutes you as her fighter rises into the air and quickly takes off into space.

There’s little else you can do now in the meantime while you await to see how the mission goes. For now though, one issue does demand your full attention…

You board a shuttle along with a rather sizable retinue of bodyguards, a counter-measure that several of your knights insisted upon in the wake of the recent attempt on your life. Escorted by a squadron of starfighters, you zoom across the landscape to the north until you find yourself in the snowy northern pole of Telos IV where the Jedi Temple lies…

Boarding inside the hangar, you disembark and are quickly greeted by your youngest knight, the confident Chiss duelist Sayla Tann.

>”Hi Kraton. Our uh, guest is waiting for us down below…”

You walk along side by side with Sayla into the dark recesses of the Telosian Jedi Academy. It becomes darker and colder the further you go down, and as you get closer you being to sense the person you’ve come for far more clearly.

You can sense her anger stewing, and there’s little doubt that she senses you coming as well.

>”She’s a bit of a handful, let me tell you. We got about fifty soldiers guarding her around the clock. We’ve had to rotate them a bit and screen them to make sure no one was getting manipulated by her. She’s a bit… well, spooky sir.”

Sayla leads you down a cold hallway and opens the door to a chamber where a single figure levitates in a stasis field

A blue Twi’lek woman, who doesn’t really look too much older than Sayla herself, coldly stares at you as you walk down to meet her. She looks quite a bit different without her armor and mask. Her real face appears to be covered in various intricate red tattoos, and in her current outfit you can much more clearly make out the muscles that define her body.

>”Back for round 2, LORD Reed?”

After we find out who her master is we can get more personal. Why she follows the Sith (because they all have a tragic backstory), where her hatred comes from (because "You captured me" is merely circumstantial), heck, we can even talk to her about why she chose to study Makashi as her Lightsaber discipline.

Just gotta start with who sent her.

“Who sent you to kill me?”

She stares back at you in silence for a few seconds before sneering

>”Maybe I came to kill you of my own accord? There are plenty of people who would like to see you dead. I could bring your head back to just about any Sith Lord and be rewarded handsomely.”

She flexes her wrist slightly as she scans her body, her eyes lingering on the wound you delivered to her on her shoulder

>”I could have done it too if not for that big lizard and that... 'jedi' of yours.”

She grips her fist tightly, her anger palpable to both you and Sayla.

“Hmph, what’s your name?”

Your prisoner sighs as she relaxes her fist and looks back at you

>”Arlia Sitra.”

Sayla cups her hand and whispers into your ear
>”She had to get her training from someone. She has to have some kind of master… unless she killed him or something.”

Arlia cracks her neck as she stares back at you

>”So what are you going to do with me when we’re done here? Am I going to have to wait until some Sith reconquers this dirt ball before I can stretch my legs again?”

She clearly seems to be far more than just some common bounty hunter, perhaps if you kept her talking she would reveal something

"Makashi. What a fascinating form to specialize in. The precision, footwork, concentration... A skilled devotee is captivating to observe. What inspired you to pursue the contention form? Or maybe I should be asking *who*.”

She raises an eye at you skeptically as you start to delve into her expertise with saber dueling

>”It’s… the only style I know. My mistress always claimed that the greatest Makashi duelists always focus solely on Form II to the exclusion of all other styles.”

To the surprise of both you and your captive, the tense mood is dampened somewhat by Sayla as she chuckles at the Sith. Arlia scowls at her as she raises her voice
>”Is something funny Jedi?"

>”Oh no, it’s just that my old master actually told me the same thing a long time ago. I’m a Makashi duelist myself. It’s too bad I wasn’t Kraton’s bodyguard that night, I would have loved to have faced a real duelist for once.”

Arlia looks taken aback once again and is left speechless as she stares quizzically at Sayla, obviously unsure of what to make of her.

Unbeknownst to her, she did let something slip in all of that. She called the one who trained her ‘Mistress’, meaning that whoever sent her was almost certainly a woman. That certainly narrows it down a bit, and you are aware that the two closest and most powerful Sith Lords surrounding your territory are also female.

“Whoever trained you must have been quite powerful I imagine. I wouldn’t mind facing her myself.”

Arlia regains a bit of her composure as she stares back at you

>”My mistress is no easy foe. Compared to that fool Verus, she’s on an entirely different level. I doubt you’d ever face her unless she intended you to."

>Ask her what her mistress is like?

"I take it there's no love lost between Sith Lords?"

Arlia's stare darkens as she speaks just above a whisper

>"My mistress will not be pleased once she learns I've failed. Then again, I suppose if I break free from here I can fix that."

Sayla adopts a serious look herself as she fold her arms over her chest
>"That's a pretty big 'IF'. We're not going to let another assassin get close to Reed like that again, especially not you."

>"We'll... we'll see about that."

She doesn't necessarily sound too confident right now. As good an assassin as she is, even she must see what an uphill battle she must be fighting.

Perhaps she sees no other choice

If I were a Sith I would imagine that you would be already upon the torture racks and other assorted nasty things that are gathering dust around here. Yet because I and by extension my associates are Jedi we refrain from that. Do you know why?

Wait for her to respond to the question if she doesn't respond continue with something like this.

>"Because Jedi would rather help those who wish to help themselves. Be it with a small suggestion to avoid narcotics that would ruin their life or by helping them disappear from irate Master who don't deal in second chances. I would personally rather see everyone under my command to be happy and content than going out on crusades or rampages causing bloodshed across the Galaxy."

Lean in a bit as to share a secret

"What sort of pitiful master would abandon their apprentice at the first sign of failure?"

She grits her teeth and glares at you with fire in her eyes before shouting

>"I will learn from this failure, and I WILL become stronger! If I don’t, then I deserve to die! The weak die and the strong survive, that is what it means to be a Sith! I will not be weak, I will not die, AND I WILL NOT BE REPLACED!"

The chamber falls silent once again, as if any scant bit of cheerfulness and light was easily washed away.

You glance at Sayla, who looks away from Arlia with a dour frown, before staring back up at your prisoner who appears to be panting after her sudden outburst.

You walk up close to Arlia and, with a warm and understanding smile, speak with her

"Arlia, let me be frank with you, you are in a very precarious position right now. If I were a Sith I would imagine that you would already be upon the torture racks and other assorted nasty things that are gathering dust around here. Yet because I and by extension my associates are Jedi we refrain from that. Do you know why?

>”Because you’re too naive? Too proud to do what’s necessary? If you’d just blast me with lightning we could have ended this conversation already.”

You continue to smile at Arlia as you calmly explain to her

“We don’t torture people Arlia, and we usually refrain from blasting people with lightning, because Jedi would rather help those who wish to help themselves. Be it with a small suggestion to avoid narcotics that would ruin their life or by helping them disappear from an irate Master who doesn't deal in second chances. I would personally rather see everyone under my command happy and content rather than going out on crusades or rampages causing bloodshed across the Galaxy. Of course…”

You lean in closer as she listens to you with rapt attention

The chamber falls silent once more. You patiently wait as Arlia mulls over your words whilst staring away from you and Sayla.

After a short while passes, you notice a great change in her demeanor. She starts to move a bit more as the stasis field vibrates. For a moment you almost wonder if she is attempting to slip free somehow, but then you realize that it’s not that at all.

She’s shaking, and her chest is rising and falling with every breath.

Sayla’s jaw drops open as she whispers
>”s-She looks like she’s going to have a heart attack.”

Arlia twists about and turns, moving strongly against the stasis field as if she were bound in chains

This carries on for another moment, during which time you debate stopping this all and getting her medical attention but before it comes to that she finally stops and addresses you, a look of terror on her face as she shouts

>”COUNTESS DALCA! Countess Dalca of Serenno! s-She laughed for nearly an hour when she heard you took Telos IV from Ramana but when they told her you killed Verus she said if Ramana didn’t care to stop you then I would! I had to do it!”

You give her another moment to calm down before asking her if she would like some food or water.

She shakes her head no and, feeling that you’ve exhausted her enough for now, decide to leave her with a few parting words

She takes in a deep breath and says

>”Please give me back my face.”

Yeah, Will Smith romcom where he helps Kevin James get a date. It follows the typical romcom formula - guy doesn't want a relationship, meets a girl who he actually likes, they like each other, there's a massive misunderstanding that causes them not to like each other 75% of the way through the movie, they resolve their problems by the end - but it's pretty enjoyable because it's pre-2010s Will Smith.

>"I made it myself a long time ago. I don't want anyone else to see what I look like without it. i-It looks more like me than me."

That doesn't necessarily answer all of your questions about it, but you suppose it's enough for now.

"I will see about getting it back for you, but not quite now. Just try to rest for now, and I'll make sure someone attends to you if you need anything."

She falls quiet as you turn away from her and exit the chamber with Sayla.

"Sayla, where is Lo Rai?"

>"I believe he's meditating at the top of the temple."

"Good. Bring me the mask, I want him to personally examine it."

After obtaining the mask, you jaunt up to the top of the temple where sure enough, Lo Rai can be found meditating in the middle of the snow with his shirt off, just as you found him when he revealed the Sith Holocron to you. It's quite impressive how he is able to stay well enough to meditate outside in this freezing cold like this, you imagine he must be controlling his body temperature and keeping himself warm through the Force.

"Lo Rai."

His eyes wrench open and he blinks a few times before smiling and bowing his head

>"Greetings Lord Reed! I thought I sensed your presence close by. What brings you here?"

"I have a very important task for you."
You reach inside your cloak and present Arlia's strange mask

"Please examine this for me and tell me if you can't find anything off about it. Make sure it's not tainted with the Dark Side."

Lo Rai accepts the mask and looks closely at it as he pores his hand over it

"Ah, Lo Rai, I'd like to talk to you for a moment. I want to know how your... Meditations are going. How you're handling what you saw inside the holocron."

Lo Rai's smile falters as he glances over the mask, flipping it over in his hand.

>"The more I think about it the more silly I feel I acted. Kota Vam looked as if he was getting ready to strike me down, and I honestly can't blame him after what I said and did."

He puts the mask down and smile up at you again

>"There is one good thing about the mask though. I feel as if my experience with it has made me more... honest. I still feel that there are things that can be learned from the Dark Side of the Force, even if there is a danger to it all. And I meant every word I said about the High Council, that much hasn't changed since my head has cleared."

Lo Rai rises to his feet, summons his robes into his hands off the ground and puts it on as he stuffs the mask away.

>"I believe that's part of the reason I felt so strongly about joining you Kraton. You seemed to just care more than they did."

He begins to walk past you towards the entrance to the Academy and shouts back

Lord Reed accepts a cigar from the commander, who then lights a match for him as Reed places the cigar in his mouth

>ask about the loyalty of her forces, for starters

>”Well from what I understand she’s got a pretty strong following on Serenno. They say her family has ruled the world for the past hundred years or so, and not by conquest. The noble houses elect who get’s to lead their world, so I figure she has to be either really well-liked or really good at politics.”

>Ask about her personality; how she treats her subordinates, her equals, and her superiors. If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.

He takes a few more puffs of his cigar and ruffles his mustache slightly before responding

>”I honestly can’t say much. Her subordinates seems well off I would suppose, though I’ve never met any of them personally. She seems to be relatively well respected by the other Sith Lords, but I wouldn’t know much about that either. She and Ramana, they don’t get along so well, that I know for certain.”

>"What was she like, as a child?”

Stryker develops a smirk as he takes the cigar out of his mouth

>“She was a funny kid. Had a big mouth on her, had a tendency to speak pretty loud. Was kind of cute really. She was the kind of girl who obviously liked being the center of attention, but in an endearing way you know? That was the impression I got way back when I first met her…”

Stryker’s smile fades away as he puts his cigar back in his mouth

>”When I saw her again a few years later, she was a lot more quiet. Barely spoke to me or anyone else aside from the other Sith. I didn’t even realize it was the same girl until someone pointed it out to me."

If we could find some way to incite the two towards each other instead of us that would be handy. Would allow us to continue to infect the sector with more happy feel times in this body of hate and disdain that is so prevalent.

Also so happy my suggestion got taken in!
>>
>>268064
“What can you tell me about Lord Ramana then?”

>”Heh, well even though I served under Verus, we were all subservient to her. I got to see her a few more times than I saw Dalca…

Stryker leans back in his seat as he taps the ash of his cigar off into an empty glass

>”… but not as much as you’d think. Ever since she rose to power, she’s been off waging some kind of campaign. She’s supposed to be one of the best warriors amongst the Sith, and a pretty competent general to boot, so it seems like whenever the other Sith Lords were getting together for something big they’d always try to include Ramana.”

The commander snuffs out the remainder of his cigar, and it appears he has a sort of faraway look in his eyes

>”It’s funny, now that I think about it. I can remember back to how she was when she was young and it’s really not all that different from her now. I can’t really say I ever knew her that well, but I always figured she was a tough cookie even back when she just a kid.”

“What of her relationship with Dalca?”

>”They were both apprentices to the same Lord, so they spent a lot of time together. I guess they had a bit of a rivalry going all their lives, but a couple years ago I think the rivalry got a lot worse.”

Stryker leans closer to you as his voice becomes a bit more tense

>”Now, no one really knows how she did it but they say Ramana killed her master. The most popular story goes that Ramana chucked the bastard off a bridge… but that doesn’t matter. What matters is that Ramana sort of took over most of her master’s territory, but Dalca chose not to follow her. So they’ve squabbled a bit in the past over who should rule what, and sometimes it’s led to open warfare but not always…”

Stryker looks as if he could go on a bit when a lieutenant of his enters the tent

>”Sir, I have some data pads I need you to look over when you have the chance.”

>”Ah right, was there anything else you wanted to go over right now Lord Reed?”

Several days pass by after your exchange with your Sith prisoner, Arlia. You’ve managed to learn that she was sent to kill you by Countess Dalca, the Sith Lord of the planet Serenno which lies to the west of the Telos sector. Evidently she welcomed your attacks on Ramana’s territory at first, but when it became apparent that you weren’t about to stop your campaigns any time soon she decided to try to snuff you out.

Now, after questioning Commander Stryker a bit, you feel as if you’re starting to get a better idea of just who your enemies are. It seems that Ramana and Dalca do share a bitter rivalry of sorts, one that dates back all the way to their training under one Sith Lord who Ramana apparently murdered. It also appears that you and your forces have been caught up in the middle of their longstanding feud, though there’s still much you don’t know about either of them.

In the mean time, you wait as your knight Jaina conducts her espionage mission on the forested world of Ferro and while Lo Rai investigates the strange mask that belonged to Arlia. It takes several days before you hear back from either of these knights, but eventually…

“Lord Reed, our scouters have just picked up several unidentified vessels jumping out of Hyper Space.”

You perk up as you look over to the bridge hand. Stepping over to him, you patiently wait several more seconds before he speaks up

>”It’s Sir Charr’s starfighter and the rest of the commando team! All vessels are accounted for!”

The various lieutenants and soldiers on the bridge cheer and you breathe a sigh of relief. It appears none of the team suffered any casualties. Now to see what they uncovered…

The star fighters dock inside the hangar of the Raider, and you along with many of your men await as they disembark. Jaina is one of the very last to exit her shuttle, and when she hops out of her ship you immediately notice her frown.

She blows a puff of her hair out of her face as she walks up to you and gives a slight bow

>”Lord Reed…”

Hm, she rarely addresses you as formally as that

>”… I’m afraid the mission wasn’t nearly as successful as I said it would be.”

You smile as you place a hand on her shoulder

”Welcome back Jaina, I’m glad to see you and everyone else back safe and sound.”

She smirks at you

>”Well of course. Trask would’ve never let me live it down if I ended up captured or… or yeah. Good to see you too Kraton.”

That's much more like the woman you remember. It is a genuine relief to have her back into your fold, even if she wasn't quite as successful as you were hoping.

No doubt all will be fine as long as you have her and the rest of your knights backing you up.

Her smirk slowly fades away as she glances back at her starfighter and says

>”Taking Ferro’s NOT going to be easy.”

You stare back at her with a serious look

>”Do you want to hear the full story now, or…”

That very night, you call together all your knights and your top military officers to meet you for a special debriefing of Jaina’s mission. Sending out a special transmission to Fianna as well, you find that the young padawan is actually one of the very first to answer the summons. No doubt she suspects what this meeting is about and is eager to hear what was learned, even if she doesn’t exactly express much in the way of enthusiasm.

Soon nearly all of your band is assembled inside a special meeting room inside the Corvette. When the blast door to the room opens up, you see your final attendee has arrived. Lo Rai walks into the chamber

>”I apologize for my lateness everyone. Very pressing matters have been demanding my attention as of late, and I assure you all that I had a very good reason for arriving last. Lord Reed, if I could have your attention AFTER this meeting I think you would be very interested in what I have discovered concerning that particular project you assigned me.”

A few of the people in attendance trade odd glances amongst themselves as Lo Rai nonchalantly takes his seat at the meeting table. Jaina coughs into her hand as she stands up and addresses everyone whilst a holo-image of the planet Ferro appears in the center of the room.

Fairly new reader, still trying to catch up with all the threads. My only question is how have we not had a Revan-esque condemnation from The Council yet?
>>
>>271597
well we are not being supported either.
>>
>>271597
You mean an Exile-esque condemnation from the Council yet? Probably because we're the only thing standing between the Sith and the people of Telos, and because we haven't given them the chance.

>>271572
>“As I’m sure you all know by now, I was sent on a recon mission to Ferro with a few different goals in mind. The most important one being discovering where the Sith base was, and I’m happy to say I was able to find it!”

The holo-image of Ferro intensifies on a large stretch of jungle around the planet’s equator.

>”The military base is spread out here. I know we can’t really see much of it on this map, but that’s because the forest itself is covering it very well and because…”

She scowls at the image as she plants her hands on her hips

>”… because the majority of it all is underground. Many miles underground. There is a network of tunnels and shelter and maybe even factories that lie deep within the planet’s crust, and I’m afraid we couldn’t really get close enough to tell just how extensive it all was.”

Fianna speaks up in her usual unimpressed tone

>”I suppose this would complicate any attempts to bombard the base from orbit. Have you discovered any anti-orbital measures protecting the base?”

>”Well, yes. I was just getting to that. You see, there are a number of Turbo laser batteries scattered all around the area. It would make dropping our forces directly on top of the base pretty difficult. I also suspect that there may in fact be an Ion Cannon hidden on the surface somewhere close by… but I wasn’t able to find that either.”

>”That’s unfortunate. I suppose we’ll have to wait for them to shoot us with it if we want to find where it is.”

In the meantime drawing up some battle plans would be pretty handy right now, I figure that we have our toughest ships be in the forefront and first to come out from hyperspace to ID where our enemy defenses are, after that we bombard the area with pinpoint laser barrages.

That being said I would rather we go and secure that population center that is still be ruled over by the Sith, but I imagine that we can do that after we take out this asset. Any opinions?

At this point and time, neither Fianna nor her master Sun Vike are aware of the Jedi Temple on Telos IV's existence. Neither are they acutely aware of Lo Rai's brush with the Dark Side, or that an attempt was made on your life by a Sith Assassin that you now have locked up, nor that you possess a Sith Holocron on your person.

Sun Vike did criticize you for allowing Bwuno the Hutt to operate on Telos IV, and he made it quite clear that his support lies with the Republic.

"Jaina, you never really explained why it was so difficult to scout out these areas."

>"Well... the forests were actually pretty difficult to navigate. The underbrush can get very thick, and there's areas in the forest where there is very little sunlight because the trees go up so high. We were afraid that if they spotted us, we would get ambushed."

Trask hisses as he leans closer and stares at the map

>"You're right. That's exactly what I would do if was commanding the defense. Set up a bunch of killing zones, find where the forest is thickest and lie in wait. Then when my foes approach, surround them and start blasting them to pieces."

Commander Stryker shakes his head as he leans back into his seat

>"I'm honestly not sure if my Walkers could handle very well in terrain like this. I'd hate to end up losing one of them to a pile of mud or a shaky hill my observers couldn't find."

>"There's an easy way to fix that Commander."
Stryker's attention, and the attention of the rest of the assembled officers returns to Fianna as she speaks up

>"We rewrite the terrain to our advantage through sustained orbital bombardment. After flattening the forest, your walkers would be able to approach the base much more safely."

A bit of murmuring goes on amongst your followers until Janus raises his voice and asks

>"Exactly how much of the landscape were we going to level? There were people living on this world right?"

A few of the people assembled who haven't weighed their opinions in are looking to you now.

What does Lord Reed say?

>Suggest a scorched earth strategy through orbital bombardment?
>Consider sending strike teams down to attack the surface base?
>Write-in?
>>
>>271759
>Write-in
Ask how viable an orbital bombardment would be due to their anti-orbital defenses.

Also, I thought the only people living on this world were the people in Ramana's base?
>>
>>271759
>>Suggest a scorched earth strategy through orbital bombardment
>>
>>271759
If there were people living on the planet they might be gone by now, I support Orbital Bombardment but only if we manage to jam their signals so we aren't ambushed from space.
>>
>>271759
>>Consider sending strike teams down to attack the surface base?
So far, we've been winning by being quiet. We start making moves in earnest, such as sustained bombardment, and we risk the chance of provoking a much more determined defence. There's also the civilian issue to consider. We are supposed to be liberators here against the Sith. We shouldn't lose that high ground.
>>
>>271815
I'm thinking we either do this fast and risky or safe and very slow. We can drop strike teams down and try to disable their defenses piecemeal, or we can try to build up a resistance movement on the planet.
All of this can wait. We still have Mirial to take and perhaps more reinforcement and intelligence will change the operational landscape.
>>
I see roughly 2 votes for Orbital bombardment
1 vote for asking about orbital bombardment
and 1 vote for a strike team strategy

So for now Kraton will lean towards a scorched earth strategy

Writing in now
>>
"Exactly how viable do you all believe an orbital bombardment would be?"

Fianna is quick to answer
“The Ion Cannon presents a problem. We could start bombardment immediately, but the Ion Cannon would have to be dealt with.”

“What of the people living on the planet?”

>”As I have said before, roughly ten million native Ferroan people populate the planet. I don’t suppose anyone here has any insight as to what they are doing?”

Jaina shakes her head

>”I wasn’t able to get in contact with any of them. They’re either in very secluded areas or working with the Sith, I’m not sure.”

You mull over this information for a few minutes as your followers discuss all of this amongst themselves. When you feel you are ready to speak up, you announce

”Given all that we’ve heard so far, I think that if we aim to destroy this Sith Base as efficiently and quickly as possible we will need to rely on an orbital bombardment. We will strike them as hard and as fast as we can and give them little time to respond before we land our forces in and finish the base off.”

Several of your followers, as well as Fianna, are in agreement with you.

However, a few of them don’t seem entirely convinced, and even Commander Stryker who seems to support your strategy for dealing with Ferro interrupts and asks

>”What of Mirial then? Wasn’t that supposed to be our next target?”

Janus speaks up as well

>”We have devastated the forces that once defended Mirial, and there are many millions of people who still lie under the yoke of the Sith there. Should we really be setting aside their plight right now?”

>Janus is right, you did make a vow to save the Mirialians. We should focus on them first.

"I have not forgotten Mirial at all. In fact, I would argue that by destroying the base at Ferro we would be paving the way for our eventual liberation of that world and it's people. Depending on how successful we are, we may even be able to reclaim some of the Sith's weaponry for ourselves if we take the base. This would only further help us in the long run, which is why I support attacking there first. However..."

You slowly trade glances with all who are assembled

"I will not leave this decision entirely to myself. We shall hold this to a vote. All in favor of shifting out strategies to attack Ferro first?"

Of the group assembled, the following all vote to attack Ferro
Fianna, Lo Rai, Kota Vam, Arnet Yar, Commander Stryker and Commander Skrillex

And the following vote for liberating Mirial first and foremost
Jaina Charr, Janus, Sayla Tann

Task, did not appear to vote at all
Several members at the table look his way as he humorlessly stares back
>"I seem to have lost my voting claw."

Final Vote
6 for attacking Ferro fist
3 for liberating Mirial first

Just as you are about to continue, Fianna cuts you off
>"Actually it's a vote of 7 against 3. I speak on behalf of my Master, so my vote counts as two. It does not seem to matter though."

Janus scoffs in her direction as he leans back into his seat with his arms folded

"I suppose that settles that then. We will focus our military efforts on Ferro!"

That works for me, although I honestly don't know if I'll be free at all to run this quest tomorrow. It will be a very busy day for me, but if not then maybe Sunday or Monday at the latest.

In any case, we can certainly end it there for now. Some time soon we will be moving onto Ferro, and I'm going to have plenty of surprises planned for you all there.

Until then, I hope you all enjoyed tonight's session! As always, I welcome any feedback, criticism, or questions. If there is none, then good night!
>>
>>272157
It was good, thank you. I definitely look forward to the next session. There's this constant undercurrent of menace and worry in this situation, and I love it.
>>
>>272157
Be gentle with us.

Also, man, we're really going to need to have Lo Rai tone it down if he's going to be on a mission alongside Fianna. That is, unless we want the Council knowing one of our knights is slinging lightning and is a vocal critic of their practices.
>>
>>272276
yea. i could see that ending badly.
I ll go with >>272047
but. take ALL the commandos and a descent size of infantry IE the troops from the republic. and the and the armored division. if they will not be held up by the forests. ( are they a tank battalion or do they us walkers or are they antitank infantry or a mix of the three. ) can you answer that as it will change weather or not we should take them.
also are we going to do a blitzkrieg attack and hell drop all the troops Halo style or are we going to fight a war of attrition and secure the space around the planet first, that would change some things.

for the fleet i would say take all of the Republics fleet and the corvette.

If we are going to secure space first than I would like the ground forces to be in the sith transports. with some of our star fighters protecting them.
again all of this could change depending the strategy we use.

The current operation, as per Reed's decision to use scorched earth tactics and as per the suggestions of his commanding staff and allies, is as follows

Stage 1
After coming out of hyperspace, position the fleet and begin to orbitally bombard the large stretch of land where the Sith Base is believed to be.
Stage 2
Land forces on the surface to assault the enemy's Ion Cannon when it becomes apparent where it exactly is. Attempt to destroy it as quickly as possible.
Stage 3
After orbitally bombarding the area thoroughly enough, land the rest of your ground forces and have them directly invade the base
Stage 4
Attempt to wipe out and/or capture their forces en masse as your forces enter said base while dealing with any other hostiles that present itself

As for the Armored Division, it is a special military force that answers to Commander Stryker. It has various military craft in it, but the most tactically important feature of said division are the 10 Sith Walkers in it. They are large and slow vehicles that don't handle particularly well on rough terrain, but they pack a huge amount of firepower and can take a decent amount of punishment in turn. Many of the soldiers in this division are entasked solely with supporting and defending these hulking war machines.

If you all would like your surface strike force to be primarily made up of this division and the Republic forces then that is acceptable, though you will not be able to field any other ground forces. Your other ground commander, Skrillex, won't be joining you in this case since he would not have any forces to personally oversee so he will remain on Telos IV.

Some of my plans changed for this evening, so I may in fact be able to continue off from last night some time later tonight. I'll give you guys a heads up at least an hour before.

>>273333
The Sith Transport ships that you had captured earlier can each carry roughly five hundred soldiers. If you were to bring all four of them with you then you would have extra space to transport another 2000 soldiers as well as an extra four ships to support the the Republic's fleet.
>>273348
These walkers are reminiscent of the AT-AT Walkers that the Galactic Empire used in the Empire Strikes Back, and thus are best suited to manuevering on flat land. Given that and given how huge and dense the forests of Ferro are, this means that the Sith Walkers in your army would face some major difficulties assaulting the base as it currently stands.
However, significant bombardment of the area could feasibly make it easier for your walkers to traverse toward the base.
>>
>>274062
Would it be possible to send in fighters to deal with the anti-orbital defenses? Turbolasers are mainly anti-capital ship weapons due to their high power but low rate of fire and turn speed, while an ion cannon or hypervelocity gun would be completely ineffective against fighters. This could be much more expedient than sending in ground forces to try to neutralize their anti-orbital defenses, meaning we could hit the main base sooner, and would allow us to consolidate our forces into one large strike.
>>

>>274129
That is certainly a possibility, though whether or not it would be as effective as a ground assault is uncertain at this time
Unfortunately, Jaina's reconnaissance mission was unable to uncover too much information on exactly where the Ion Cannon is or what manner of defenses it would have.
>>
>>274149
could we send in some probes with a live feed. we would get some better scouting done.
they would know we are coming but.
we would know where all of their big guns are.
>>
>>274149
Yeah, I was thinking that it would be good to fly down bombers or fighters and blow up their anti-orbital defenses. It would hit harder and faster than a ground team.
>>
>>274163
That is an option as well, however you would almost certainly lose the element of surprise. Whether or not it would be worth it is entirely up to you all.
>>274169
That is definitely a viable tactic you could use to destroy the Ion Cannon.
>>
>>274169
yep we will defiantly do that. then pound them for a few hours. then send in the ground forces to kill the survivors.
we should make sure they are ready for close combat? as it seems there is a extensive underground base.
>>
>>274198
The probe droid tactic you mentioned earlier would be good to use on the underground base. They would be useful for scouting enemy positions and triggering any traps that may come up.
>>
>>274207
yes. maybe we should launch a bunch of drones as soon and their censers pick us up?
we know where the main base is there most of their anti air/space should be near it. but I think we should have them get into the atmosphere as fast as they can and take a look at the planet.

Right, my responses might be a bit slow tonight on account of my internet being down but I'll be posting from my phone

So just to be clear, it's been decided that Reed will take
>the Raider Corvette
>4 captured Sith Transports
>12,000 infantry including Commandos

And will attack Ferro with the entire Republic Fleet and 5000 of its soldiers.

The Republic Fleet will transport a large amount of your own forces to the battle whilst the majority of your fleet stays over Telos IV.

Is this acceptable?
>>
>>276025
yeah m80
>>
>>276025
Sounds good.
>>
>>276025
yea, but could we have say two of our hammerheads guarding the transports.
>>
>>276035
Aren't we taking the entire Republic fleet with us while our Hammerheads guard Telos? Or does that not entail Republic escort?
>>
>>276040
look at their fleet specs. they dont have a especially large fleet, so we probably wont be able to have a dedicated guard for the transports.
>>
>>276043
The Sith transports themselves aren't completely defenseless, though the Republic's vessels are stronger and they are committing their entire fleet to this battle
>>
>>276043
How about just one Hammerhead? I don't want to end up getting caught with our pants down back on Telos.
>>
>>276066
that would work. I just would like them to have some good bomber defenses.
>>
Time is spent hammering out exactly what forces are being fielded.

Hoping to score a significant blow against the Sith, Fianna lends the entirety of the Republic Expeditionary Force to the attack on Ferro.

Lord Reed himself is leading a large force as well, roughly 12,000 soldiers and a small portion of his fleet consisting of four captured Sith Transports, a single Hammerhead cruiser, and the Raider Corvette.

Reed’s Army
1 Jedi Lord
2 Jedi Knights
1 Jedi Padawan
1 military commander (Skrillex)
12,000 soldiers

Reed’s Fleet
1 Raider Corvette
1 Hammerhead Cruiser
24 Aurek Starfighters

Republic Army
-1 Jedi Padawan
-5 thousand Republic Soldiers

Republic Fleet
-1 Valor-class Cruiser
-6 Thranta-class Corvettes
-6 Hammerhead Class Cruisers
-180 Liberator Class Starfighters
-58 PT-7 Starfighter Bombers
-72 Aurek Class Starfighters

All in all, Reed is committing the majority of the attack force’s soldiers whereas Fianna is committing the majority of the attack force’s space vessels. It is quite a sizable force, and although little is known about how strong the Sith Forces on Ferro are, you are confident that you have marshaled enough power to grasp victory.

Once everything has been set into place, your various knights and officers begin to leave to attend to their various duties.

You are eager to depart for this upcoming campaign, though you realize it will take a short amount of time yet for everything to be ready. In the mean time, you will be able to address one last matter of importance before your departure…

would baiting the ion cannon to fire on less valuable targets be a useful tactic? We could easily man one or two of our own sith transports with a skeleton crew and feint a direct attack on the base to bait out the location of their defenses.

Also we could do a staggered assault, with us primarily leading the charge and having the overwhelming republic forces arrive mid-battle. This could incite planetary forces to initially over extend themselves offensively, thinking they're facing a smaller force. In reality we just draw them out of their defensive positions and sweep them with our expected reinforcements.
>>
>>276151
this is what i was thinking. at least with the bait and switch.

You stay behind inside this meeting chamber until all are gone aside from Lo Rai and yourself.

>”I thought that went quite well Lord Reed. It seems as if a number of us sincerely disagreed with the decision to attack Ferro first, but leaving it all up to a vote was a wise choice. Anyway…”

Lo Rai rises from his seat and walks over to you. The knight reaches inside his cloak and brandishes the mask of the captured Sith Assassin, Arlia Sitra.

He adopts a serious look in his eyes as he takes a seat beside you, the black and white and red mask held firmly in his hands

>”You were right to trust me with this Kraton. At first it just seemed like a normal mask but after a few days of close examination, I was finally able to sense something very wrong about it. It’s not exactly as bad as I immediately thought, but…. well…”

You wait patiently for the Arkanian to continue on as he somewhat awkwardly clutches the mask

>”… the Sith have a very long history with masks. There are some Sith Lords, people who had a huge impact on the course of Galactic History, that we know very little about aesthetically aside from what they wore and what mask was on their face. There was one particular Sith Lord who was so deeply connected with his mask, that he was able to live on through it long after his body was reduced to nearly nothing.”

An ominous feeling creeps into you as you stare down at the mask in Lo Rai’s hands

>”It would seem that something like that has happened here as well, although on a much smaller scale. This mask is spiritually linked with our prisoner Arlia through the Living Force. It’s something that most ordinary Sith are unable to ever achieve, and yet she has.”

>Maybe we should give the mask back to her if it is that important to her on a spiritual level?
>Perhaps we should destroy the mask, if is so strong in the Dark Side of the Force?
>Is there some way we could attempt to purify this mask of the Dark Side of the Force?

There is one issue with this plan.

Currently, your fleet is at max capacity with how many soldiers you are bringing into battle. If you would like to try to bait the Ion Cannon into attacking ships of yours that are actually manned by skeleton crews, then you would have to bring less soldiers in order for those ships to be considered skeleton crews.

For example, you could bring 1 thousand less soldiers into this battle in order to have 2 Sith Transports that would act as bait?

If this is something you all would like to try, then I will modify the Ferro Invasion Force's stats to reflect this.

>>276208
Thanks Anon, welcome aboard! I'm getting to the point where I would like for us to stop making modifications to the battle plans, just so we can progress to the battle, but I can still allow a few changes if Anons come up with good ideas
>>
>>276210
try to purify it and replace the dark side with light side, not so much that she would notice but enough that it could push her over when the time is right.
>>
>>276240
What if the singular Hammerhead ship we're gonna be bringing from Telos was piloted by a skeleton crew?
>>
>>276240
how about we jam soldiers into the corridors of the republics flag ship surly its big enough to take some more. we could also bring a few more hammerheads.
>>
>>276240
could we simply reallocate those troops to the republic fleet? If not, less troops would be a fully acceptable trade-off.

One last question/revision then, are the sith forces on the planet using the same models of sith transport ship we seized? If so, I'd change my suggestion to using the same number of hammerheads for bait, while filling up one of our sith transports with commandos and jedi to arrive in the second wave...at which point they will take advantage of fog of war and land the sith transport trojan-horse style in the enemy base.

otherwise no other changes

[Incoherent Sith noises]

“This is most disturbing. Is there a way we could attempt to remove the Dark Side from this mask?”

Lo Rai cups a hand over his chin as he stares down at the mask

>”I’m not sure if we could. This thing is…. it’s like it’s alive in a way. Not in the way that it is it’s own living organism mind you but I would like to think of it as an extension of Arlia. A small but very important piece of her. Perhaps… maybe… hmmmm….”

Your knight stares intensely at the mask as the gears inside his head twirl faster and faster.

>”… the mask could stop radiating the Dark Side of the Force if Arlia herself turned away from it. I’m not certain if that would work, but that may be the only way of ridding this mask of the Dark Side’s influence. There is something we need to address though.”

Lo Rai turns away from the mask and turns to you with a dark look

>”Arlia Sitra was able to create this somehow. I don’t feel like that should be possible. A Sith who was able to create something like this would have been a much more difficult foe for us to defeat, let alone capture. Something is not right here…”

There is only so much more space that soldiers can be jammed into. Most of these ships are already filled pretty much to capacity.

Either bringing an additional Hammerhead or two, or choosing to bring less troops, would be viable options. I will allow you all to decide which you would rather choose to do.

Also, this Trojan Horse style plan is also viable if you all would wish to attempt it

"When I spoke with Arlia, she told me that she created the mask herself a long time ago but now, after hearing all of this, I don't know if I can really believe that even if she does. Is it possible she didn't exactly create the mask after all?"

Lo Rai's normally calm and collected demeanor shows a sliver of fear as he takes in a sharp breath.

>"This does sound, very VERY familiar to a few stories I read concerning the Sith back when I studied in the Archives… Sith are notoriously difficult to defeat. Some of them might even agree with us when we say ‘There is no death, there is only the Force’. Possession, Reincarnation… there are many abilities of the Sith that most would consider unnatural.”

A screeching noise diverts your attention away from Lo Rai to the Blast Doors, where Kota Vam stands

>”That is an incredible understatement.”

You are taken aback as Vam strides into the room towards the two of you. Lo Rai rises up from his seat and calls out

>”An old saying goes that it is easier for a Bantha to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for one who has embraced the Dark Side to find the Light.”

Lo Rai narrows his eyes at Vam

>”…and what of me then Vam? Am I too beyond redemption?”

>”I did not see that redeeming one’s self was impossible Lo Rai, I was merely stating a clear fact. That it is extremely difficult to throw off the Dark Side’s influence. Truth be told, if it were up to me alone I might simply have Arlia killed before she could fall even further to this horrific taint of the Dark Side. However, if we are to actually bring her to the Light as I feel the two of you are suggesting, then it will require a monumental effort on our parts.”

Kota Vam’s expression softens slightly as he walks up to you and Lo Rai

>”If Arlia is to be saved from the Dark Side, then we must set her on the right path. The way of the Jedi. One of us must undertake this daunting task and take her under our wing… as a Padawan learner.”

We'd have to do regular checkups on them to make sure Sayla isn't being turned or anything, but this seems like the best option. We don't really have the time to train a Padawan right now, much less one that's as much of a handful as Arlia, and something tells me this will be the first of many opportunities to take on an apprentice.

You consider the various options that lie before you carefully. You feel that Arlia has the potential to become an incredible Jedi, or a terrifying monster. Choosing who should watch after her and lead her off the path of Darkness is an incredibly difficult prospect, but soon enough you realize who can truly accomplish this…

"No one amongst us understands the nuances and dangers of the Dark Side like Lo Rai. He shall take Arlia Sitra as his Padawan.”

Lo Rai’s jaw drops as you turn to face him

>”Me? You truly think that I…”

Kota Vam’s scowl deepens as he whispers over to you

>”My Lord, I do not think that—“

Lo Rai rises up from his seat and stares down at you intensely before crying out

>”I will not fail you Lord Reed. I will use everything I have learned about the Light and Dark Sides of the Force to help her. She will become a Jedi, I swear it!”

To your immense surprise, it almost appears as if this normally cool and analytical Jedi Knight of yours has tears forming in his eyes as he bows his head to you

>”I will repay you for the trust you have shown me Kraton. Thank you my friend.”

You rise from your seat and respectfully return Lo Rai’s bow

It would seem that that matter has been settled for now. When the time comes, Lo Rai will take Arlia Sitra up as his Padawan Apprentice. Now it is time once again for Kraton to turn his attention to the war, to turn his gaze towards Ferro...

The time is now

Gathering your forces together, you bid the Knights and Officers you are leaving behind and set out with a vast fleet toward the world of Ferro

Thousands of soldiers fall in line and board numerous vessels that begin to fly off into space as millions of Telos IV’s citizenry either look on quietly in awe or cheer uproariously in support. You look back on these people one last time before boarding your shuttle, confident that when you look upon this planet and it’s people again it will be once more as a victor. After all, the Force is your ally…

Forming together as one, your fleet merges with Fianna’s

Over the the holofeed, you hear your ally Fianna speak up to the fleet
>”All units prepare to enter Hyperspace.”

Staring forward, you watch as the galaxy becomes a blur

“Battle Stations!”

Commander Skrillex hops down into a small trench where various bridge hands and officers are rapidly working behind a number of computer consoles

>”Lord Reed, our empty Hammerheads are positioning above the planet. Your orders?”

>Moderate Failure

Your Empty Hammerheads quickly position themselves in orbit over Ferro and immediately begin firing down upon Ferro’s surface in a brilliant display of power!

However, the bombardment only lasts but a few minutes before the Raider’s scanners pick up a huge number of hostiles

>”The Sith Forces have just launched a swarm of Sith Interceptors from the planet’s surface, hundreds of them! They’re—“

A huge blast of blue light bursts through Ferro’s orbit and slams directly into the hull of one of the Hammerheads, which proceeds to shake as currents of electricity encapsulate it.

>”Master Reed…”

Your attention is drawn to a small holo-image of the Echani Padawan leading the Republic’s forces, Fianna

>”I have just ordered all of my fighters to scramble out and help defend your Hammerheads.”

Her assistance seems to come a bit late as the swarms of Sith Interceptors begin to attack the vanguard of your assault force. A cursory glance at the scanners reveals that all four of them are coming under heavy fire, with the disabled one already in deep trouble.

>”Lord Reed, your orders sir!”

“Everything is going according to plan. Keep the scanners hot and pinpoint exactly where that Ion Cannon is hiding. Deploy all remaining star fighters and hold the line!”

The Raider stays back along with the majority of the Fleet as the swarms of Sith Interceptors launch their attack on the Hammerheads while dueling against your own fighters.

The battle before you rages on for several full minutes, with many casualties on both sides as numerous star fighters are torn apart in the heat of battle.

Thinking quickly on your feet, you contact the captain of the heavily damaged Hammerhead and order him to prepare his vessel for a crash-attack on the Ion Cannon

>”Sir yes sir, just tell me where the Ion Cannon is soon. I don’t think we’re going to last too much longer!”

Then, contacting the captains of the other deployed Hammerheads, you give the order for them to attempt to use the already damaged Hammerhead as a buffer from the Ion Cannon’s strikes

>Minor Success

You continue to calmly watch the battle unfold before you. The swarms of Sith Starfighters seem to keep coming with no end in sight, but your own starfighter squadrons are putting up a valiant effort. It seems that thanks to the combined efforts of the fighters you and Fianna are fielding, the Sith swarms are barely advancing toward the rest of the fleet. Most of those that advance past the Hammerheads are quickly blasted to pieces by the pinpoint accurate turrets being manned on the Raider.

Following your orders, the Hammerheads proceed to use the already disabled one as cover. Another mighty blue blast punches through Ferro’s orbit, aimed directly for one of the other Hammerheads. Thankfully, the blast hits the already damaged one instead, successfully acting as cover.

>”Lord Reed! Forgive me my lord, but we can’t hold out any longer! ALL HANDS ABANDON SHIP!”

You sigh as shuttles fly out of the Hammerhead’s hangar and escape pods jettison in all directions out of the cruiser. Soon after, a massive fire breaks out upon the Hammerhead’s bridge as the entire vessel erupts in a huge explosion

>You’ve lost a Hammerhead Cruiser

“Lord Reed, we think we’ve found it!”

Turning your back on the battle raging ahead of you, Reed looks instead on the large holo-map of Ferro as it intensifies on a certain area on the world’s surface.

>”That’s it for sure! We’ve found the Ion Cannon!”

The image momentarily zooms out only to zoom in again at different points on the island, revealing various bunkers, turbo laser batteries, and trenches.

>”Are you kidding me, that place looks like Hell!”

>”Hmph, it will take much more than that to stop us.”

Your attention is directed towards a small holo-image of Lo Rai, who you can see is adorned in a suit of white and red armor which he wears beneath his Jedi Robes.

A chorus of salutes follows Lo Rai as his image feed cuts out. Glancing toward the radar map, you watch as the small fleet of 4 Sith Transports that previously lied in hiding far behind your own fleet breaks off and begins to approach the planet of Ferro.

There is little else to do now but continue to hold the line while Lo Rai's strike force slips and stages the real assault.

The battle rages on!

Your Hammerheads, along with the support of numerous squadrons of your star fighters along with the Republic’s, continue to fight on. The way this battle is going, you expect that you may very soon lose another Hammerhead. Thus what happens next, comes as a bit of a surprise.

Suddenly several of the swarms of Sith Interceptors break off and start speeding towards the rest of the fleet, with many of them charging towards Fianna’s forces. No sooner than you realize this, the Ion Cannon begins to ignore your Hammerheads and instead fires upon the Republic fleet.

A massive blue blast hits the Stalwart, the Valor class Cruiser that is serving as Fianna’s flagship, as the entire fleet takes emergency maneuvers and begins to reposition itself to face the new attack.

The holo-image of Fianna fizzles as she turns to address you
>”We’ve taken some damage, but we are holding up. I am calling several of my squadrons back to cover the fleet. If even a single of our ships is lost we could lose hundreds of lives.”

>We can’t risk losing more of my Hammerheads, it could jeopardize the surprise attack. I will continue to focus my efforts there.

We fully intended to sacrifice several of the skeleton crew hammerheads as bait. Our raider hasn't been contributing much from behind the front lines either.
Considering the enemy forces split, our hammerheads and accompanying fighters should manage to hold the line with some casualties. Send the Raider over to aid the republic forces directly, we can provide vital firepower there while also being protected by the bulk of our allies' force.

The Raider charges ahead, breaking away from it’s fixed position at the rear of the three remaining Hammerheads in Reed’s fleet and pushing towards Fianna’s Republic Fleet

With the Raider’s superior speed, you manage to arrive only a minute after the Sith Interceptors start to swarm over the Stalwart and it’s escorts.

>”Sir! We’ve just detected something new! It appears that hiding within these swarms are various shuttlecraft.”

Commander Skrillex scratches the back of his head as he frowns down at the computer console.

>”They must be attempting boarding maneuvers. All gunners, open up on those shuttles before—"

A massive blast of blue light encases the bridge as you are nearly tossed off of your feet!

Warning alarms blare as the lights go out overhead, casting everything on the bridge in a red glow

Commander Skrillex curses as he rises back up to his feet

>”What the Hell was that?!”

It appears that a few of the enemy shuttles have just docked inside your ship, and disembarking from within these boarding vessels are several dozen men who don heavy suits of armor that look different from anything you’ve ever seen in the Sith armies.

“What is this? These aren’t Sith soldiers.”

Commander Skrillex hops out of the trench he is currently in and runs over, sliding to a stop beside you. His performs a double take before answering you

>”I recognize that armor. They’re Mandalorians! Supercommandos! I had no idea Ramana had these in her army… y-your orders Sir?”

Thankfully, your guns are still largely online on account of being manned by gunners and not controlled by computers.

Lo Rai is down on the surface about to spring the trap with your commandos, while your other two Jedi, Kota Vam and his apprentice are on one of Fianna's Thranta's with a large complement of your soldiers.

Fianna is currently also repelling Mandalorians

Aboard all ships are naval personnel who man the ship as well as groups of marines who are trained for combat within the close confines of ships. There is no shortage of blasters and such lying on ships, and generally everyone has at least a blaster pistol sidearm on them.

then
1) have several teams of marines head immediately to the hangar bay and seal the blast doors manually, given that our electronics systems and remote access abilities
2) accompany them with multiple teams carrying explosive ordinance, includes mines and grenades. Should we catch the mandalorians by surprise, we can simply bomb the shot out of them. If we can't and we seal the doors, have them rig the ordinance as traps throughout the surrounding corridors and set up tactical blockades in the hallways.
4) have Reed booze out and use force telekinesis from the bridge windows to divert any heavily projectiles (torpedoes, missiles, and maybe a bomber or two) aimed at the defenseless raider ship. Hopefully this will last while Skrillex orders all men to prioritize repair of the shield and communication systems from all hands not committed to repelling invading forces or manning the guns.

“Take command Skrillex, I will deal with these warriors myself!”

>”You got it Kraton, er Lord Reed! Hey you, get this damn radar working! I want to see how our Hammerheads are holding up!”

You march out of the bridge and call up on your comlink

>”All hands, our ships has been boarded by Ramana’s forces. All engineers focus on getting our shields back online and fixing our ship. Marines, manually lock down the blast doors and contain invaders boarding our ship as best you can using explosives and mines. I will be arriving shortly to aid you in this fight.”

>”Sir yes Sir!”
>”Sir yes Sir!”
>”Yes Sir!”
>”Yes Lord Reed!”
>”VICTORY OR DEATH!”

Your met by a chorus of more enthusiastic replies as you pocket the comlink and march down toward the hangar bay.

As you make your way down, you reach inside your robes and brandish a small urn. It has been quite a while since you’ve allowed yourself to use this technique, but a desperate time such as this calls for desperate measures.

A pair of ship personnel give you odd looks as they use extinguishers to fight a fire while you proceed to down the contents of the urn. Zeltron Wine, more than enough to knock an inexperienced drinker flat on his ass, but for you it’s just potent enough to get you going with a few long swills.

>”So it begins."

Stepping into an elevator, you begin to reach out through the Force. Coincidentally, while your focus on much dampens a bit with a few gulps of the wine you feel as if your connection with the Force is strengthening. As if your body entering this more relaxed state is only making it easier for you to understand the ways of the Force.

Sensing out, you can tell that the Mandalorians are quickly fighting their way out of the hangar. What few Marines were on hand to immediately meet them are tragically cut down as they storm inside your ship and begin to fan out. Likely they are seeking to cause as much destruction as possible, or perhaps they may even be attempting to take your ship from you entirely. Your foes’ bloody intent seems as clear as that, and you are determined to put an end to it here and now.

After taking a quick jaunt through an elevator shaft, you stumble out of the elevator with determined grin on your face. A short walk down the halls and you find yourself in the middle of one of the Raider’s long hallways. A dozen of your marines have their backs to the walls and are taking potshots down the hallway through a hole that was blown through the blast door as several blaster shots zoom by.

>”Lord Reed, thank the Force you’re here! We’ve got about twenty of those bucketheads down the hall. What do we do?!”

They struggle to react to your whirling movements as a single saber of yours seamlessly blocks their blaster bolts while another one constantly slashes forward.

You fall into a slurring rhythm as you bounce about and cut them down until you find yourself stumbling into the wall and sliding onto your side as you hit the floor.

“wooooooooo….”

Shoving yourself up to a sitting position, you raise your urn back to your lips as you glance up at a soldier of yours. He stares down at you with his jaw hanging open while his comrades take a few cautious steps forward down the blood and blaster soaked halls.

All twenty of the Mandalorians have been slain, most of them by your hand.

Accepting two hands from two of your Marines, you are helped back up to your feet

>”Great work Sir, they didn’t know what hit ‘em!”

>”What now Sir? Your orders?”

You glance down the hall as you reignite your sabers as you stumble to the front of your entourage of soldiers and stand tall

“Seek and Destroy.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-tvJcTPxHc

You and your men charge down the halls together as you use the Force to sense out the nearest party of boarders.

Coming upon a small group of them in the middle of a hall, both they and your soldiers open fire on each other. Under the hail of blaster fire you charge forward with your sabers. A few bolts come your way only to be deflected aside, and once you get into close range there’s little they can do. You slice them to pieces, and take a fair chunk of the hallway with them, as you slide and slash all over the area. After only a few minutes, they are all dead and it becomes time for you to move on.

After a few short minutes of searching, you all come upon a group of about a dozen Mandalorians who are currently attempting to fight their way into a hall where many of your gunners are manning turrets and blasting Sith Interceptors.

They look as if they are about to force their way in when you catch sight of them

Standing at the forefront of your band of marines, you throw up both your hands as you seamlessly stomp forward

A huge blast of kinetic energy explodes forward, tossing several of the Mandalorians into the room as several more smash into the metal walls of the hallway. The few Mandalorians who still have fight in them and are able to react can only get off a few shots before your men unload on them. A short but brutal barrage of blaster fire eliminates the rest of them, you don’t even have to charge in and use your saber to finish them off.

It appears that this area of the ship has been cleared of boarders, and the various gun batteries are safe.

>”Thank you Sir!”

The gunner let’s out a boisterous laugh as he let’s fires on a squadron of Sith Interceptors, quickly shooting two of them to pieces before your very eyes.

Suddenly, you feel your comlink in your robe vibrate and when you pick it up and raise it you realize that Commander Skrillex is calling you.

>”Reed! The shields are ALMOST back on-line and we’re about to get the communications array back in order! You may want to come back up here man, uh Sir.”

“What of the Mandalorians?”

“Continue to lead in my absence Skrillex, I’m going to drive the rest of these Mandalorians away.”

>”Give ‘em Hell sir!”

“Let’s go men!”

>”SIR YES SIR!”

You all jog down the halls together away from the gun batteries to finish off these Supercommandos before they can escape.

Roughly ten minutes later you step into a large blackened hallway littered with dozens of corpses and a few blasted droids. A few of your men are here as well, hiding behind cover and taking potshots as a large group of Mandalorians fire back. Directly behind them lies the hangar bay.

They appear to be retreating, and one particular Mandalorian appears to be standing in front of them all while firing back with a blaster rifles in each hand. He wears armor that is bright red and boasts various symbols, some of which clearly appear to be Sith related and a few of them even looking like the tattoos you saw on Arlia Sitra.

“Hey, HEY YOU!”

You feel something unsettling inside your gut as you hold back a belch and stumble into the hallway whilst deflecting several blaster bolts

“You're running away?! HA! How’s it feel to be defeated by a drunkard eh?”

A few of the Mandalorians cease fire in confusion as one of them blurts out

>”Is that really the enemy general?”

>”Enough of this!”

The Mandalorian in Red armor steps forward with his two blaster rifles

The Mandalorian tosses the blaster rifle in his left hand away and activates a sharp blade in his right forearm while aiming his blaster rifle at you

The Mandalorian aims his rifle at you and open fires.

Calmly watching as the blaster bolts race towards you, Kraton raises his lightsabers and methodically deflects each of the blaster bolts aside.

Many of them go flying in various directions, tearing holes all though out the hallway. As Reed gets into the pattern of this attack he begins to deflect the bolts back towards his opponent.

A few blaster bolts whiz past his head, while one hits him in his right shoulder causing him to drop his rifle! The other blast hits him in his armor's crotch cup, causing him to stumble back as he grunts in pain

>"Tor!"

A few of the Mandalorians attempt to rush forward to assist but the Mandalorian raises his hand at them and yells

>"Stay back! This is not your fight, get to the shuttles and GO!"

The Mandalorian valiantly charges at you, but even if he doesn’t realize it it is a futile gesture.

You temporarily deactivate your sabers and raise up both hands, grabbing him with the Force and holding him in place just before he could charge into you with his blades.

With a great burst of energy, Kraton flings him back and the Mandalorian’s body smacks against the ground. His jetpack continues to propel him as he flies away, his body sliding against the ground before the jetpack itself leaves his backside and crashes into the ceiling in a violent explosion. His body tumbles against the ground several more yards before coming to a stop right before his men.

>”Tor no!”

Kraton Reed fights his way through the throng of Mandalorians. Their thick armor is quite strong, but against the strong blows of your lightsaber they do little. You slice and stab at them as fiercely as you can, and in a show of courage the Supercommandos refuse to back down.

Fighting onward past these men, you stumble into the hangar bay just as the man known as Tor Viszla is carted onto the shuttle. You burst towards the craft, intent on stopping them before they can escape, but you are intercepted by a handful of Mandalorians flying forward in jetpacks.

Flying forward into the air, you duel with these warriors as they fire at you yet in your current state of inebriated power and with their dwindling numbers, all they can do is slow you down.

Unfortunately, that’s all they have to do before the shuttle can unfold it’s wings and fly out of the hangar bay.

>Tor Viszla has escaped!

Turning back to your own men, you watch as they valiantly fight their way into the hangar bay. With their combined blaster fire and your own efforts you manage to finish off the rest of them. They fight to the last man, and take as many of your own soldiers down with them as they can, but eventually they are all slain.

After mopping up this boarding party, you begin to jaunt back to the bridge. The Raider has become a huge mess as bodies, blood, debris and ash coat every hallway you walk down. Various crew personnel are still working hard to put out some of the fires while medics rush all over in an attempt to save as many lives as possible.

After being treated to such a grisly sight after another, Kraton Reed is finally able to reenter the command bridge. Commander Skrillex looks over and greets you as you stumble up to him.

>”Reed we are back online! The Sith star fighters are space dust! We… lost another Hammerhead and a number of fighters while you were gone, BUT the Sith’s naval forces are completely gone now!"

“Excellent, but what of the Ion Cannon?”

>”Completely Destroyed.”

You glance over at a small holoimage of Lo Rai who smiles up at you. His armor has blackened in several spots and his robes have been reduced to tatters, yet he seems to be in high spirits.

>”I’m afraid we lost many good men down here, but the Ion Cannon won’t be attacking our fleet anymore. The entire facility has been blown to pieces and all it’s defenders killed or captured.”

Another holo-image appears alongside Lo Rai. You do not recognize this man, but he wears the uniform of a high ranking republic naval officer.

>”Master Reed, I am Captain Korth. I am currently commanding the Republic Navy in Fianna’s absence.”

“Absence?”

>”Yes, the Stalwart was attacked by several boarding parties and currently she is still assisting our men with mopping up the attackers.”

It would appear that she’s facing a situation similar to your own, though with her abilities and how many soldiers she has aboard that large ship you don’t imagine she’ll be occupied for too long

With the boarding parties defeated, the Sith Interceptor swarms annihilated, and the Ion Cannon destroyed, it appears that the space battle for Ferro has ended in victory for your forces!

Physically exhausted after having fought off so many Mandalorian warriors, Reed takes this moment to sit down and meditate over all that's happened.

After all that he has seen, a part of him has developed some manner of begrudging respect for these Mandalorians. They fought against you very bravely and managed to cause you quite a bit of trouble before you finally beat them back.

Even in the face of defeat, they stood firm and fought you with everything they had. Many of them even gave their lives for their leader, and though they were your enemy a part of you is actually a bit touched by their selfless display.

"Commander Skrillex."

>"Yes Kraton?"

"Order some of the men to search amongst the dead. Bring me the armor of one of their fallen soldiers."

>"Huh? Er, right away sir."

You sit their and watch as the very last of the Sith forces are fought off. You're starting to get a bit of a headache now as a small hangover seeps in. It's a short while later that a soldier walks up to you and salutes you.

>"Sir, we believe we found something you might be interested in."

The soldier leads you down several corridors to the Raider's large mess hall. Numerous tables have been smashed up, with several of them placed on their sides to act as cover no doubt. Amongst the bodies that lie on the ground and the various broken glass and debris, the soldier points out to a single figure lying in the distance.

Lying on his back, and surrounded by scores of your deceased marines, lies a single Mandalorian Supercommando. Although he is dead. his armor appears to be in very good condition. As opposed to most of the suits of armor you’ve seen which have only a splash of color, this one is entirely orange. What also stands out about it is it’s helmet, which is adorned with spikes.

You crouch down beside the warrior and lift the helmet off his head, revealing him to be like you, a Zabrak.

“You fought well, may you find peace in the Force.”

>Kraton Reed has gained a suit of Orange Mandalorian Armor!
>This suit confers a +10 bonus on rolls to defend one-self against small explosions and blaster fire
