>OOC: Previously, on Shipgirl Commander >>199886

‘Why not?’ There is an almost sarcastic quality to your shrug; Kaga looks at you, amused as she closes the distance.

Your Aircraft Carrier wraps her arms around you. You feel a tad shocked at her advance – it’s a lot more affectionate than you’d expect from her. Kaga nuzzles against your nape, humming – not in content but in measure – she’s trying to adjudge something of you, but you don’t dare ask her what. You’d dropped yourself into her hands and while not quite content, you tell yourself that she is – or at least you think she is… helping you.

You choose to ignore her blatant pinching of your arse.

Two fairies appear from behind Kaga, dancing clumsily on her shoulders. The familiar blue light – the same you had seen with Nagato on the bus – appears in irregular spots. You find a certain fire projected from this KanMusu – this woman – before you, a warmth that was both threatening and at the same time… welcome. This wasn’t the usual way you saw Kaga. Nor was it the usual way you perceived her.

This was Kaga. Bare and honest; a hardened, distant presence. You don’t fight as she presses herself, all of her, against you. Like Takao, every contour of her form presses and seems to merge with you – even through your clothing. You nervously wrap your arms around her; you can feel the hitch in her throat as she rests against you – your hands, and you really don’t know if this is entirely you, travel to the small of her back where they meet her bottom, tracing against her soft, slightly scarred, flesh.

She doesn’t fight you. There is a wetness to her breath that Her breathing reaches a sort of climax as with embarrassment you…

Feel a dampness on your lap.

The fairies spin and twirl and let out a cry… and there is fire.

A burst of blue seems to consume everything all around you. Fire, greater and menacing as it had never been to you before lights as the woman in your arms is consumed by it. Gone is her form, her flesh… here is a being – a creature – of a grey flame in contrast with the room around you. Your view sees nothing but blue and grey; you let out a yelp, a cry as your eyes widen in panic and you fall to the floor, your mouth agape and your form shivering in terror.

The form of the KanMusu – or whatever that was Kaga before seems to regard you. You do not see a face, you do not see a form – it was as if you were looking into a being of light and… warmth. You regain your bearings, still rooted the floor.

There is an alien, eldritch quality to her constantly dancing edges – around her the fairies that you had seen before had changed too – they were little blobs of light… exuding happiness, joy and wonder… at you, you realize.

You don’t have to see it to feel these things. You are here, you are with them. You do not feel threatened or in danger… you are merely here with…

‘Kaga?’

You think you see a flicker of a smile, that cocky tilt and teasing jut of her hips with the turn of the flaming figure, but you can’t confirm for yourself. You think that you should bolt and run, especially with a presence as terrifying and incomprehensible as this… but you don’t. Contrary to feeling danger, you feel… protected.

Even if the being of fire and more before you was scarier than that movie marathon you went to as a child.

It finally moves. Kaga finally moves.

The fairies dance around her loop and buzz above you as she drops onto all fours, hovering above your form. You’re a little overwhelmed that you don’t feel any burning sensation – any pain… you actually feel… invited, to say the least. Her body drops onto yours fully, and you feel her weight come onto you – and the same sensation that you had felt when she pressed herself before.

Her head rises and you look at the blank flame where her face once was, feeling your non-existant collar tightening.

Don’t be afraid.’ She speaks with a voice that sounded more like two; one seemed to be authoritative and domineering… and the other caring and motherly. ‘I won’t harm you.’

You nod wordlessly… around you, red strings, like an aurora, dance. Kaga regards them, touching them with her fingers.

Interesting.’ She says curiously. ‘It is rather out of controlbut clear. So clear.’

Kaga?’ You nervously speak.

Your pulse is rising.’ There is amusement… and a chastising quality to her echoing voice. ‘Your thoughts are all over the place.’

‘What are you doing?’

Helping you.’ She assures, tracing her hands onto either side of your head. ‘I want you to think about the battle.’

You’re immediately there. You are all of them at once, and none of them, teeth and blade and shells echo in your ears.

Nachi. Shigure. Tenryuu. Murakumo. Abyssals. Aquarius. Creatures.

The cavern.

The bond is there

And there is black.

The room is gone... Kaga isn't there anymore.

The feeling of flesh returns in your right arm. You are standing once more in the cavern. The fairies are not there this time; the blue glow of the water is eerie yet comforting. You feel an energy in you, a skip in your step as you put one foot before the other in giddy relish.

And you stop.

You raise your attentions to the cavern – its ceiling is high and the rocks are jagged… but the water has a sort of warmth to it, even though it felt cool as you ran your fingers under its surface. It’s a strange sensation, feeling the flesh of your right hand running underneath the surface, but it isn’t unwelcome. A familiar pulse rocks through you as you do so… and the water seems to grow dimmer as you run your fingers through it. Sighing, you raise yourself to your feet, again, looking around.

‘What the Hell is this place?’

The last time you had been here – wherever here was – it had been when you had taken your oath to join the Admiralty. Only, this time, the fairies that you had seen before are nowhere in sight, there was less of a rush and more of a serene atmosphere and… Kaga was still not around, if she was meant to be in here with you, anyway.

‘Man, this is cold.’ You run your fingers underneath the surface again – the light of the cavern, once more, grows dimmer.

You sigh, running a hand through your – hat?

You frown as you find a hat just like the Admiral’s had been perched on your head. The emblem, the insignia – all of it looked familiar. It was strange and eerie – you had not felt it on your head at all. You look around again, trying to get your bearings again.

You find it useless to do so. There didn’t seem like there was an exit. Although, there were quite a few ledges near the ceiling… perhaps you’d try there.

‘Kaga, I don’t know how you think this is going to help me, but I really hope you’re not screwing around.’ You mumble to yourself.

You approach a wall, knocking against it with your flesh and blood right hand. It was still a strange feeling, but you didn’t care much. The rock was rough, and it didn’t look slippery or that it would come off from your weight – if that even mattered in here, anyway.

‘Solid.’ You say, although it’s more to assure yourself than anything.

You, to your surprise, easily leap – higher than you had ever been able to in your life – and manage to find a grip on one of the rocks. Although a nagging feeling at the back of your head told you that it was more like the rocks were built around your ability to grab them…

‘Never been able to do that before.’

You climb to the top of the chamber. It takes faster than you had anticipated; you now stand on one of the higher ledges, looking down at the pool…

‘Man, this place is something else…’ You look around again. ‘Wherever the Hell this is…’

The ledge seems to crack under your weight, and you fall face first into the water below and…

Are in the middle of the chamber once more.

You groan, rubbing your temples.

‘Okay, this is just getting weird. Where am I supposed to go – !’

Somethings strikes at you.

It's a familiar movement.

NACHI – ?!’

You don’t know how you do it, but you dodge the incoming blow – or the bulk of it, anyway. You don’t see the ferocious follow up as it finds you right in the gut… and the arm cannon that’s pulled right in your face with you looking right down its barrel. You see a flash of something, and time seems to slow down. As disabled as you are, you grab the barrel of the armament on Nachi’s wrist and with all your might… pull

Nachi’s shells fly right past you in a deafening whistle and blast, making a spidery crater in the wall of the flooded chamber. The pain in your gut is almost unbearable, but you manage to wrestle her weaponry into a blind angle. You don’t know where you get this strength, nor do you know where you somehow get the idea to take on a KanMusu, one under your command, no less, with your bare hands.

‘Oh, so the wannabe knows how to fight, huh?’ Nachi’s lips twist into a maniacal grin, her eyes filled with condescension; you would have none of it, keeping your grip onto her wrists so her cannons don’t fire directly into your face. ‘Did you forget? I don’t even need a damn shell to turn you into mulch!’

She fights back against your strength, painfully twisting your own wrists with a rotation of her own – you refuse to let her cannons go, fearful of their strength. You cry out as you can’t bear with the pain and Nachi grabs the collar of your uniform, bringing you close to her face, that twisted sneer taking over the bulk of it.

‘Go back home, wannabe.’

You feel a rush of wind and a lack of breath as another kick finds itself square in your gut, and the pain is so much that it rings in your ears. You hit the ceiling of the chamber painfully, somehow feeling every bone in your body, every organ that you have seemingly shatter as the whole chamber seems to warp and twist as you drop into the water.

You struggle to breathe. You struggle to swim. This can’t be right – you could swim. You’d done it before – yet, here you are, barely able to stay afloat, to stay serene. Below you the blue glow turns into a sickly green, one that was hot and dismissive of you – everywhere around you, you saw eyes and smirks… you see the Admiral, the Vice-Admiral, Nagato, Takao…

You see the Proctors.

What do you think this is? A circus?!

You struggle for air, gasping.

I don’t know where you think you are, sonny, but this isn’t where you belong.

‘N – No, I d – did my be – !’

You feel Nachi’s hand around your throat. She pulls you out. You lose the feeling in your right arm again. You lose the skip in your step, the energy… and you see Nachi’s smirk as she pulls you in.

'Come on. Cry.'

Familiar words ring in your ears… but from a different voice. Different voices.

You’re our God-damned COMMANDER.

There’s a hitch in your throat. Nachi’s twisted features are ugly and frightening, but they don’t intimidate you. Not anymore; not with a gun in your face, and certainly not with someone trying their best to get you to fold. You don’t need to tell that to yourself. It’s second to your instinct; at this moment, it means more to you than breathing.

She brings you close to her face… planting a kiss on your lips. A disgusting, mocking and humiliating coup like the pat on the back before a knife finds its resting place.

‘Okay.’ She smiles, in a disturbed echo of comfort. ‘Cry.’

You throw a straight jab.

It connects.

It throws her back through the length on the chamber. Nachi skips like one of those pebbles you threw across the water in a surprising testament to your shocking strength; whatever the rules here were, they had nothing in common with where you were before. You cock your prosthetic, flexing your fingers on your other hand as you give the angry Nachi, now glowing with the same sickly green glow as the water before you, rising herself like a possessed thing.

The movements are eerie and sudden – they reminded you of those things encountered at Aquarius.

Somehow, you’re not fazed. Not one bit.

‘Hey, hey, what’s up?’ You rub the bottom of your nose with your thumb, dropping yourself into an unorthodox stance and raising your prosthetic again. ‘You’re not supposed to do this to your superior officer. They might put this on your permanent record.

She’s fast. Faster than you had thought. Faster than you had seen Shigure move during the mission.

Her kick connects with your side, sending you to one knee. There’s pain… but not much; not much at all. Another kick finds its way to your face, hooking behind your head and pushing you to balance yourself on one hand. She uses the force to bring you back towards her, and your gut makes contact with the barrel of her gun.

There is no pain.

‘You’re nothing!’ She calls out in an echoing rumble that seems to shake the very foundations of the cavern, the chamber – the green glow pulses brighter and dimmer in an almost paradoxical pattern ‘You’re a crying punk on the floor of a classroom!’

The chamber disappears. You’re in the middle of a classroom, looking at yourself – younger, broken and afraid on the floor… weeping his eyes out. Around you, you see the girls and boys of your memories past, each and every one of them laughing, snickering or shaking their heads, pointing at your younger self. The world seems to shake with every cry he lets out – the din almost inescapably painful every second you seemed to be here.

There’s mumbling in the crowd of children, of teenagers as you walk to your huddle self, unfazed and uncaring for those around you.

TBC
>>
As you take step by step towards the snotty kid on the floor, the laughter and the snickers get louder. You know it’s meant to scare you – that it’s meant to break you leave you worst than ever… to look away and run and never come back.

But you don’t. In fact, it only irritates you.

‘Oi, if you’re not gonna help that guy up, then walk away.’ You sigh… and the mumbles stop; the sound stops – and you’re in the Proctor’s Hall in Yokosuka again with your shivering younger self before your eyes; the crowd had gone… and the both of you were alone. ‘Get up.’

You do, snot-faced and scared, your younger self – you – do.

‘We screwed up a lot.’ You nod. ‘We’re not exactly drowning in the bucks and praises, and we’re still here.’ You don’t know who you’re talking to – there is not much light in this room – this Proctor’s Hall, and outside the windows, the sea is violent and the waves crash… they reach the windows, beating against them like a crazed mob. ‘But if you remember those two words…’

Your younger self wipes away his tears, looking ahead at you with eyes lit up with a familiar fire.

‘Well… I don’t need to tell you what you already know.’

You hold out a fist with your prosthetic… and he – you – meets it with a fist of their own and a smile.

You’re back in the cavern, your arm grabbing onto Nachi’s guns and pointing them away in a sense of deja vu. Her face, twisted and angry, yells at you indistinctly, even from this close. You find that it’s not because of any sort of interference… you just don’t think that whatever she has to say is the least bit important.

‘Yeah, I was.’ You address the last question, cocking your head back… and ramming it onto full force onto her own.

She staggers back, skidding back to regain balance.

‘What’s up? If you’re going to take the Commander’s head…’ You walk to her, almost lazily.

And bring the hammer down.

‘YOU GOTTA GIVE IT YOUR ALL!’

The punch seems to break Nachi’s face. Her whole body seems to crack like glass, barely holding herself up in the pool. The glow of the cavern turns from green to blue again, but you don’t care. Her hair, that long pony-tail cracks and drops into the cavern, dissipating into the blue. She raises herself to snarl at you, throwing a punch for good measure, but you meet it.

‘I screwed up a lot.’A lot more than you think or imagine. But I promised myself… that day before I got on the bus, I promised that even if I kept failing, even if the world laughed… that I would never turn my back to myself. I don’t know what I’m worth – maybe it’s less than shit.’

She cracks even more.

‘But it’s definitely not the value any of you put on me.’

Nachi shatters, smiling and nodding.

‘Not bad, sir.’

‘Where are we?’ You say the first thing that drops from your curiosity. ‘Are we inside my head or something?’

You notice that Kaga isn’t as naked as before – and you’re thankful for that, at least. She’s in her usual wear, hands folded over her front, regarding you neutrally. You do, however, notice that she’s floating with a faint glow about her – the same blue that the flames that you had seen engulf her. There are two spheres around her, dancing as she lands on the pool with a frown, steadying herself as though it was her first time standing on water.

When she finally gets her balance, she regains her dignity and looks straight at you… then to the ceiling of the chamber, letting out an exasperated breath.

‘No,’ Kaga says, ‘we are in the Stream. Or rather, your Stream.’

You look around, the chamber was right as rain again. The cracks from your battle with Nachi are gone, and the chamber looks to be put back as it was when you first arrived. The pool below you glows with a cheerful blue – a sharp contrast to the sickly green it had morphed into before.

‘This is the Stream? This doesn’t look like much.’

Kaga raises an eyebrow at you, smirking.

‘Would you like to see how it can be?’

Before you can reply… you find yourself once more in a familiar place. You had been here before. You feel yourself lurch, but steady your person. You didn’t like being here; not at all.

After all, you’d almost died here.

The skies are red and violent – lightning bolts make a show of their clashing, like tridents of mighty demons raking at one another. There is a wind here, unfriendly and ferocious, as though its mere presence was scraping your skin off your body. The waves rise and fall, though you don’t lose your balance – they look like armies ramming against one another, crying out for battle with every beat.

‘What the – ?’

You take a step back, taking it all in at once. As you do, the thunder sounds and the lightning flashes in an almost murderous strike across the skies.

Kaga raises her hands, urging you to calm down.

‘Don’t be afraid… if you are afraid, this place…’ She looks around, her expression stoic. ‘Gets scarier.’

‘This is – ?’ You take her advice, feeling the wave move beneath you and steadying yourself.

Also the Stream.’ Kaga explains as a raking clash of lightning, again, moves in the red skies. ‘The fairies and I were able to isolate your soul into your Door… that is, your end of the Stream – this is a Stream unlinked; full of turmoil and with no focus. Your Stream – our Stream.’ Kaga smirks at you. ‘It’s shocking that one with such a cluttered mind could have one so clear, really.’

‘Is that a barb?’ You put your hands in your pockets, raising an unamused eyebrow. ‘Feels like one.’

She shakes her head, smiling.

‘No, it’s… I’m surprised… is all…’

Kaga staggers… and the two orbs floating with her seem to dim. You rush to her side, worried – she raises her hand to you to indicate that she has no trouble getting her own bearings. You back off, but hover over her, ready to help her up.

‘Kaga?’

She looks at you with fear in her eyes, trembling.

‘C – Can we go now? Please?’

You put a hand on her shoulder.

‘Are you okay?’

‘I don’t want to be here.’ She says in a timid voice. Above you, the thunder booms louder. The wind picks up and the dark waves grow more violent; she clutches at your sleeve, shaking. ‘Y – You’re the Comma – Commander… you have to break the link… I can’t…’

She stiffens, looking into the distance.

Ryuujou?’ Kaga cries out in relief, wiping tears from her eyes, opening her arms out in expectation – as if to embrace the whole world. ‘Hi – Hiryuu?!’ She takes one step after the other, looking right past you. Her eyes are shining with a light you don’t feel comfortable with. ‘You guys scared me; come on, let’s go back – !’

You turn to where Kaga’s eyes are looking. You see nothing.

The thunder cracks louder and the skies grow redder. You look to the black sea, where Kaga had now walked right past you, her arms wide open in embrace, caught in a trance of relief, love and comfort. You try to reach for her, but she walks right past you, taking step by step over the waves in a hypnotic march, giggling as she seems to talk with someone that wasn’t there.

‘K – Kaga?’ You turn back to her… and then back to the waves. ‘Kaga, there’s no one…’

Things rise from the depths. Men… decaying, rotting flesh in strange clothing that you’d never seen before crawl out of the waves, crawling towards you… towards her… they all cry out in a shrill voice. Kaga’s expression is one of joy, relief. Her arms are out, reaching towards the forms of rotting flesh, calling out to her. They rise one by one, until there’s nothing else but them around you.

You feel a chill go down your spine as the cry out once more.

‘Kaga, we have to go.’

They notice you, letting out a nightmarish cry.

‘No, they’re… they’re there…’ Kaga’s voice is one of frantic joy, of desperation. ‘Commander, my team! They’re here – !’

And you see the disemboweled form of a female… about the age of a middle school girl in the crowd, being devoured by the men risen from the depths, smiling as bit by bit she is torn apart.

Kaga…

You grab her.

You are in your room, on the floor and Kaga is on you, trembling, naked and alive and sweating. She looks at you, her eyes stung with tears.

You feel a wet, warm sensation at the front of your pants as you feel the shocked and vulnerable Aircraft Carrier… relieve herself on you, gasping and struggling to speak through her tears.

She looks utterly terrified, holding on to you as if afraid you'd go.

The warmth and wetness on your pants leaves you speechless; Kaga’s form, naked and fragile as it is… is in a word, a sheer wreck. You have no idea what had just happened, nor do you know what it was about, but whatever you had just experienced, there’s no part of you that wishes to go back to that dark ocean ever again. An unfamiliar scent reaches your nose, and you fight down a grimace as you shift yourself.

Kaga’s arms stay on you, her empty eyes stained with tears, a touch of drool coming out of her mouth as she looks anything but the composed and sharp-tongued Carrier that you’d – surprisingly – grown used to. She looks like a lost child, delicate and desperate, her hands clutching at the cloth of your shirt, keeping you from getting any further away.

‘K – Kaga, I need to change my – !’

She trembles with her arms around you. Her grip is strong and firm, and she’s gasping as you try to calm yourself, her most intimate portions rubbing against yours – involuntarily, this time – scared to even give you the least bit of space.

You awkwardly return her embrace, her soft cries reaching only to your ears as she sniffs and breathes into your shoulder. Your prosthetic strokes her hair as she finally begins to speak.

‘Oh…’ She groans. ‘Oh…’ Her grip rakes your arms as she holds on to you. ‘Ryuujou… I’m sorry… I’m sorry…’

‘Kaga, you’re – !’

‘I left them!’ You find her hysterical nature frightening and alien – she looked so… so human to you now, clutching at you, desperate for nothing but your presence. ‘I… I left… them…’ You feel her teeth against your shoulder. ‘I couldn’t… I couldn’t…’

‘There, there… it’s okay, Kaga.’ You assure her, lifting her arms off you and bringing her to her feet. ‘You’re fine. You’re here… come on…’

You reach the mattress, setting her down. She seemed a bit calmer now, but it wasn’t saying much. Kaga puts her arms around herself and you set the blanket on her, looking around for something that you could use to – you see a towelette, Kaga’s, to be exact, on a chair. You reach for it and raise it for her to see.

‘I’m just wiping… okay?’

She nods. With surprising conviction and focus, you reach down beneath the covers, using Kaga’s expressions as a guide to your hands. When the red on her cheeks became apparent, you knew you had found the right place.

‘You have good fingers.’ She smiles, her eyes red. ‘You can go a little rougher. I think you’re touching my fluff.’ You stutter, trying to reach back, but she grabs your forearm, softly looking at you. ‘It’s all right, sir.’

You bite your lip. You scrape against her nethers a little rougher.

Kaga moans, a little drool dropping onto the mattress, her half-lidded eyes not leaving you.

You really need to start talking about something.

OOC: Also, now you know why KanMusu don't make such a big deal being naked or showing skin to their Commander/Vice-Admiral/Admiral. Doesn't really matter when you're baring your soul to each other in the literal sense.

The only thing asking her if she's okay will do is make things awkward. It won't move things forward and it won't tell us what happened to Kaga.

>>214178
>Kaga staggers… and the two orbs floating with her seem to dim. You rush to her side, worried – she raises her hand to you to indicate that she has no trouble getting her own bearings. You back off, but hover over her, ready to help her up.
>‘Kaga?’
>She looks at you with fear in her eyes, trembling.
>‘C – Can we go now? Please?’
Something happened in there. Something bad. Something we couldn't see. All we know is that it quickly took out the fairies and turned that place into her worst nightmare.

Isn't anyone else worried about that? What if it happens again at a more inopportune time?

The way these have gone so far, we'll be asking her everything anyway. Might as well get them in the correct order, making sure she's ok first and then she'll answer everything.

‘Are you all right?’ You look at her worriedly, agonizingly wiping away what you hoped was the last of it, taking the cloth and dropping it into the basket; you make a note to yourself to wash it after.

Kaga pulls a breath – she removes the blanket slightly, leaving you with a clear, unobstructed view of her chest. Heaving up and down; somehow or the other you don’t feel any… attraction, which is strange considering the 20-plus years of lonely nights you’ve had in your life. In fact, if anything, you’re more focused – more worried – for her.

‘Better.’ Kaga’s voice is timid and shaky, unlike what you’re used to from her – there is no snap or wit, but a fragile demeanor to it… it scared you, if only slightly. ‘I’m better now, thanks… sir.’

‘Hey, don’t stand up.’ You push to keep her down, but Kaga raises a hand – she’s still surprisingly strong – and pushes your prosthetic away, taking in air as she does.

‘No, I’m fine.’ She says – a little bit of her old self coming back from the tone. She smiles apologetically, nodding to your… area. ‘You… you should get out of those pants.’

‘Kaga-san, I didn’t know you liked guys with guts.’ You wink at her, hoping to alleviate the mood.

‘I love men with guts.’

You stiffen.

‘What?’

‘Courage.’ She explains. ‘Determination. Will.’

‘Oh.’ You let out a breath of relief.

‘But I don’t mind yours.’ She nods. ‘You’re surprisingly… your Stream; it’s clear. Not foggy.’

You feel a little uncomfortable, shuffling to your feet. This Kaga was just too weird for you to deal with.

‘I should get out of these pa – !’

You feel it wobble as you relieve yourself of the soiled garments; Kaga's eyes widen as yours roll, putting your hands over it.

‘Sorry, it can’t tell the damn difference.’ You sigh, hurriedly turning away.

‘Let me.’ You hear a rustle of fabric.

You stiffen, turning to her with a tight throat.

‘What?’

‘Come here.’

You hesitate.

‘K – Kaga, what are y – ?’

‘I’m a Carrier.’ She relieves herself of her blanket, her expression stoic, her legs… long. ‘The Admiralty and Sky Force recognizes how different my needs are. That’s… That’s why the split occurred. We carry the baggage before we even set foot into battle… and beyond it. We’re a lot more human… despite appearances.’ She looks away. ‘A lot more than we’d like to be.’

‘So, come here… or inside, if that’s what you want.’ She motions with her legs, putting them to one side. ‘I have three… so you don’t have to hesitate which one you use.’

She puts her arms underneath her chest, biting her lips.

‘Besides, I… I want to see if it works again.’

You find yourself speechless.

OOC: I'll be a little clearer. Imagine you're a robot, right? No emotions and shit, no love no hate, just doing your stuff. That's essentially the "CORE" of the KanMusu prior to their re-summoning. They're patriotic one-mission-one-done sort of machines. Now, imagine dying, not caring... but were loved "ENOUGH" that you were given a name and a purpose - the Shipgirls are not human and cannot into afterlife like mortals - like you and I. But you're a robot, so you don't give a shit and just drift, waiting for your next mission. Then you're ripped into this world from your rest to pay penance for your role in WAR, not understanding why you have to... and then you feel...

Confusion. That's new. Fear. That's new, too.

KanMusu summoned usually take more than a year to get used to their new form and their new legs, like a baby if you will... but what the most of them take a lot longer to handle are alien concepts like emotion, family, bonds and the like. Thank God for the fairies, amirite?

Now, imagine, as a Carrier, conceptually your weapons... are PEOPLE. And that every single one of them has a hope, fear, dream, crime, prejudice and grudge. Now here you are, a robot who practically just summoned into a 2nd life as a human/elemental spirit to protect humanity - as it was, in your past life, that was your purpose and you are being called again. Carriers are more magically-inclined in their combat, while other ships save Akitsumaru and Akashi are more tech-inclined on the fairy spectrum.

Because they're more magically inclined, they draw on the emotions and passions more often.

To put it simply, imagine that every time you fire an arrow you have to tune out a cry of bloodlust from someone that served on you in your past life or a fear of not coming back.

Not so easy being a Carrier... but as a side effect, they're a lot closer to humans than most other ships.
>>
>>215839
>‘What happened?’ (Refocus)
Nope!
>>
>>215871
I don't think there are fraternization regs in regards to shipgirls (if there are they aren't even given lipservice). We're in a paramilitary organization where our superior officer is fine being seen with women hanging off of him during negotiations with public officials.

Hell, if anything we've been getting approval (often in the form of teasing, but still) from the shipgirls, the people around us, and the vice-admiral in regards to being in a healthy relationship with both Nagato and Takao.

This last chapter was...look something is up. I'm seeing a lot of subtext here.
>>215839
>‘But I don’t mind yours.’ She nods. ‘You’re surprisingly… your Stream; it’s clear. Not foggy.’
Ok, wow. That right there is her telling us that she has looked into our mind and upon our soul and found she didn't mind anything in it. That's incredible. It also seems to be a turn on for her.

>‘K – Kaga, what are y – ?’
>‘I’m a Carrier.’ She relieves herself of her blanket, her expression stoic, her legs… long. ‘The Admiralty and Sky Force recognizes how different my needs are. That’s… That’s why the split occurred. >She puts her arms underneath her chest, biting her lips.
>‘Besides, I… I want to see if it works again.’
My interpretation of this is that she has strong (and possibly novel) feelings towards us following the events in our Stream and desperately wants us to accept her as fully as she accepted us. And she's trying to get that across to us the best way she knows how.

...Gah, now I'm so conflicted about what to choose.

You turn away from Kaga’s legs, spread and inviting as they are.

‘W – What happened in there?’

‘I got scared.’ She says neutrally.

‘What?’ You turn back to her, not caring for your pants-less self this time.

‘I told you… when you get scared, that place gets… scarier.’ She lets a out a heavy sigh, as if it was a heavy admission. ‘It’s my fault. I should have… I should have told you to steady yourself before the fairies and I pushed us into there.’ She looks apologetic, hefting her bosom in a shift of her seat. ‘There’s… That’s the reason Quickenings with Carriers are the most dangerous. We’re so… so attuned with emotion that we…’ She shakes her head, trailing off, before she continues with determination. ‘We have to keep in check better than most… if not all others.’

‘Why?’ You frown, confused.

‘I told you – our magic – the fairies, they…’

Kaga’s eyes drift to your nethers, her mouth open in a sort of trance.

‘Kaga, come on.’ You comically attempt a cover up, embarrassed.

‘It’s… okay.’

‘Kaga.’ You shuffle nervously. ‘Come on, it’s…’

‘I’m sorry.’ She sits upright, hands over her chest, a slight shiver to her form. ‘I have to keep it under control – I have to, we Carriers, we’re just a lot more connected with you… with you humans, more than we want to be.’ She sighs. ‘Even after all these years it’s hard to get used to. When Carriers enter a Quickening I’d heard – we’d been told – that the instability is due to our very nature. In my past life, I…’

She struggles to go on.

‘People were our weapons.’ She admits, her expression one of disgust. ‘Their emotions, their lingering presence, have taken their place in this world.’

‘You – !’

‘Believe me… I don’t want to feel like this.’ Kaga looks angry, hateful, throwing a dark look that sends your reeling. ‘It feels wrong… but I don’t want it to go away. I understand it better, you… the people of this world… my past Commanders… the Shamans…’

She smiles, tears falling once more.

‘It’s beautiful and terrible.’ She says, her voice like a child’s. ‘But most of all it’s terrifying. I… my friends helped me tune it out before, but… I – I can’t…’ She puts her face in her hands. ‘I just can’t…’

‘Kaga?’ You reach out to her.

‘I tried shutting it away… but for some time now, I couldn’t.’ She clutches her head, gritting her teeth. ‘I feel happy like you. I have dreams like you. Sometimes I find myself thinking what sweet tastes like… I remember the feeling, even though I shouldn’t.’

She brings a fingertip to her tongue.

‘That is what it means to be a Carrier, sir…’ She looks up at you, eyes red, confused, longing. ‘To be more human than we choose to be.’

This was no war machine, no weapon.

This was a woman.

Alright, first of, do not have sex with her. It would be basically taking advantage of the poor girl under emotional distress. Just because she seems to want it, doesn't mean it's the right course of action.

She clearly needs just to have someone to let her vent her troubles on. We can say we will always have an ear out for her, should she need someone to talk too. We have already seen her troubles in part, so we can understand a bit of what she is going through and it's probably not something she has shared with many other people.

Also, we still have a meeting to get too.

You sit – drop – onto the mattress, unsure of how to go on proper. The situation is surreal; on the mattress, on the floor, Kaga clutches herself, shivering from a chill that isn’t there. You’d always found yourself without words at times, but you find that at this time… you truly were. From the time you were a boy to when your finally reached manhood, you’d seen the posters, flyers and adverts urging able young men to carry the Admiralty to victory – to work side by side these invincible Valkyries and bring glory back to humanity.

You would have never expected this; that Nachi would ever doubt you, that Shigure would be so insubordinate, Takao so simple… and Kaga so fragile.

You reach your prosthetic to her, putting a hand on her shoulder; her eyes widen as she grabs your metallic wrist – you can feel her weak grip, but she doesn’t push you away. You roll your shoulder underneath your shirt as the fabric had become unbearable since the start of the affair, shuffling yourself closer to Kaga. Her breathing is irregular and blatant, her cheeks are stained with lines of tears.

‘I’m here.’ She flinches under your arm, looking away from you – as if in shame, and it tugs at your strings, but you steady the course, linking your fingers together with her in an awkward seated embrace; for once, you’re thankful that your libido doesn’t rise itself to the occasion… much. ‘I don’t know what you want… or what you need, but what I can tell you is that…

‘I won’t let you face it alone.’

Taking a leaf out of Takao’s book, you close in with a kiss to her forehead… only for her to raise her own head and meet your lips. Your eyes widen as you realize that the sensation isn’t quite like you imagined your first heavy first kiss to be. For one, you’d always thought that it’d be a drunken cougar in a bar with a child your age and heavily-enhanced breasts who’d only do it because her equally aging and plastic comrades would have dared her to – and leave you a humiliated mess on the floor as the pattern went. For two, as far as things went Kaga was nowhere near hard on the eyes.

For three, you were actually fighting to keep it down rather than breaking the beast out in full, which was saying something.

Kaga moans into your mouth – with a jolt you realize this isn’t her first rodeo, her first inception into passion – she’d had experience, years on you when it came to this, effectively sucking on your tongue as your lips part. Your back feels like jelly – her hands had found their way under your shirt and up your back, rubbing and touching.

You hear a snicker rumbling within your cheeks, and gingerly back away… to see a…

Who was this? You wonder hazily.

Kaga. Right.

‘Well, what do you know?’ She smirks, pressing her forehead against yours, feeling a hand against your…

Oh my.

‘It lives.’ She pecks you on the lips.

‘Kaga, I – I can’t…’

Her mouth stops mere millimeters from your head, her hot breath tickling it more than you thought it would. You didn’t have much will left, but whatever you had you felt that you had to put a stop to this before Kaga did something she would probably regret in the morning and would end up with you in the brig with a burly, hairy, middle-aged man making you his new best friend.

She regards you sadly, her fingers gently stroking you.

‘I know… you – !’

You raise your hands. You don’t know what you’re doing anymore.

‘I have a meeting la – !’

‘Commander! Kaga!’

The door bursts open, and a worried Houshou rushes in, the door slamming violently. Her eyes are wide open with worry, and she is very much out of breath and disheveled. You feel a grimace growing as you look from the still woman to the panicky one, whose own eyes dart between you and your partner.

I don’t care. I am going to live to see tomorrow… if only to see a damn knob get installed on every door in the barracks.’ You grumble.

‘Kaga!’ She practically leaps into the downed woman’s form, clutching her tightly. ‘Oh, are you all right?’

Kaga returns the embrace, a smile forming upon her lips.

‘I’m… I’m fine, Houshou.’

‘I felt it…’ Houshou pulls back, her eyes threatening to spill tears, shaking the larger woman. ‘Why would you open a Door like that?! You’re not stable there!’

‘I’m sorry, I… I wanted to help th – !’

‘And you!’

She rounds on you, eyes ablaze, and you find yourself a million times tinier.

‘M – Me?’ You squeak, hoping her judgment would be quick and painless.

‘Oh, not you, sir.’ She waves her hands in apology, before looking to the top of your head. ‘Them.’

A fairy drops onto your shoulder, as frightened as a mouse, then another.

‘I can’t believe you! You’re supposed to make sure she doesn’t do that!’ She rounds on your form, her face scrunched in an enraged twist. ‘Some watchdogs you turned out to be!’ As you wonder just how bad Houshou could get… you realize that it’d only been the tip of the iceberg so far. ‘SHE COULD HAVE BEENKILLED! SHE COULD HAVE KILLED THE COMMANDER AND INNOCENT PEOPLE! WHAT IN THE WORLD DO YOU THINK WOULD HAVE HAPPENED WHEN YOU OPENED THE DOOR?!’

They cower on your shoulders.

‘I’m sorry.’ Even you apologize.

‘Oh, I don’t mean you, sir… you wouldn’t have kno – Oh.’ She pulls back, looking at you in confusion, then to Kaga. ‘How… How did you get out of the Stream? If you activated it, then…’

‘He did.’ Kaga nods, shifting herself fully out of the covers.

Oh, my…’ She puts a hand to her mouth, slightly red. ‘Well… let’s see the damage. I haven’t had a good look yet.’

So that's what they're calling it these days...

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if we ever make it to a hot spring episode and Commander finds himself surrounded on all sides by his naked division.
>>
You don’t say a word as Houshou discards the last of her robes, clad in only her underwear now. She reaches back to her brassiere, and you briefly wonder how firm her form is. Kaga’s form had a sort of proportion and worn, experienced manner to it – Houshou… Houshou was as simple as can be; she lacked the chub and contours of other women, but it didn’t mean that she was any less of an eyeful to you. Her thin legs carried her petite – almost huggable form; you could seen several scars on her shoulder and forearm, and one particularly violent one across her chest.

You don’t know why you do it, but Houshou’s suddenly regal demeanor gets you to your feet and you reach for the back of her brassiere – amidst her complaints of “new-fangled useless luxuries” or something to that effect, and she thanks you, dropping her bottoms to the floor and leaving her just as exposed as your other Carrier was.

She drops to her knees, crawling over to Kaga. You feel a lump in your throat, still and silent, watching the woman undo her ponytail and putting her hands over Kaga’s… knees? To your shock, Kaga had… had spread her legs in invite for the woman, who reaches for her robes and pulls out a ceramic bottle, regarding Kaga’s exposed core with a bite of her lip. She pours the contents over her hands rubbing all over it before bringing her head down, and…

To your further shock, brings her rounded bottom directly into your view.

‘Did the Commander check it for himself?’ She inquires, placing a hand on either side of her groin to… steady her, you suppose; you’re still in a bit of a stupor, wondering just what it is she was going on about.

‘No…’ Kaga raises her eyes to meet you – you see a ghost of a smirk and a raised eyebrow… and the sudden heat rising from underneath your non-existent collar.

‘Oh, was I interrupting?’ Houshou raises herself from between Kaga’s legs, throwing a look of apology to you and then looking back to Kaga.

Kaga shakes her head again. You look away.

‘No, he was… just about to leave, really.’

Houshou snaps right up, finding your gaze and giving you a look of the utmost exasperation, before bring a hard slap onto your bare thigh. You reel back – you felt like a teacher had found out you’d copied your friend’s homework.

Commander!’ She says in a scolding tone, hands on her hips – even nude, she looked quite intimidating. Kaga, behind her, snickers behind a closed fist and you feel a little betrayed. She goes back to between Kaga’s legs… and you see her spread her a little, her expression troubled. ‘Was this the cause of activation? No.’ She raises her eyes to meet Kaga’s, who looks away. ‘It wasn’t, was it… not for you.’

TBC
>>
‘A little, but…’ Kaga mumbles, shifting herself as Houshou ran her wet fingers up and down her slit, her breathing irregular as you agonizingly watch her stoke her insides with one finger. ‘I felt them again, their spirit… it was my fault. I thought I’d gotten over it.’

‘It’s all right.’ Houshou holds her cheek, her gaze tender and understanding. ‘I know how hard it is…’

Kaga nods.

‘Breathe.’

Without warning, she cocks her hand back… and slowly pushes her fingers and half her hand into Kaga. The woman lets out a cry, one of relief, one of pain, one of sheer ecstasy, clutching the sheets as Houshou brings her tiny hand into Kaga’s very core. The larger of the two women looks lost in a sort of bliss, and recognizing your worry, manages to raise a hand to steady your fears.

Though, not by much.

‘H – Houshou, wh – !’ You stutter, looking at the scene unfolding before you in disbelief.

‘Commander… please.’ Houshou’s smirk looks very much like Kaga’s – the Kaga you had grown used to. ‘Or if you’re not busy…’

She shakes her rump, her winking arousal in your face, and you find your throat dry. It sways like a pendulum of invite – and the only thing keeping you from doing anything remotely immoral is the thought of the Admiral’s mustached features looking at you in disappointment… and your duty, of course, the booty.

You shake your head. Your duty. Most definitely, your duty.

‘He’s not like that, Houshou.’ Kaga wheezes, before frowning – almost glaring at the smaller woman. ‘You’re scratching me now.’

‘Didn’t look like it to me.’ She says, exasperated, slowly drawing out her hand; to your mixed feelings, she holds her glistening hand up, sniffing at it. ‘Almost fully healed… you’re a bit tight, though,’ she sighs, running another finger up and down her slit. ‘I’m envious. It’s like they gave you something new.’

‘Very funny.’ Kaga frowns at her.

‘You had your womb and lady bits turned into burger meat.’ Houshou ‘I’m surprised they healed this quickly. Oh.’ Houshou puts another finger inside, before drawing it out and making a fist. ‘The toughness is back as it is… let’s try the – !’

She pushes it in. Hard.

HOUSHOU!’ Kaga throws her head back, drool leaking from her clenched teeth.

‘You know what this reminds me of?’ Her eyes glint mischievously. ‘That club. I think I have enough saved up for another all-nighter.’

‘Nothing beats a true blue man in your s – Mm!’ Kaga breathes out, somehow giving you a wink, her legs quivering. ‘I t – thought this was a stress test.’

‘Well, I am certainly not shoving a torpedo into your nethers, if that’s what you’re asking for.’ Houshou rolls her eyes. ‘Commander, what do you think?’

‘Houshou… just what are you doing?’ You manage to find your tongue as Houshou gets back to work, your eyes trying to find anywhere to look that wasn’t particularly indecent – no such luck. ‘Kaga?’

‘Kaga… has new lady bits.’ She shakes her own bare rump for emphasis, winking at you. ‘As a KanMusu with experience, I was assigned by the ISSF due to my transfer here, to keep an eye to her continued recovery in addition to be of… service to you.’ She finishes with a smirk.

You frown. Something didn’t add up.

‘Shouldn’t we be hiring a gyno or something for that?’ You cross your arms, looking at Kaga then back to Houshou, who kept thrusting her fist in and out of Kaga like a piston. ‘Instead of doing it… like this?’

‘Commander…’ Kaga bites her lip, looking at you with a dazed… and slightly hurt look.

‘No one would touch us there.’ Houshou says neutrally. ‘At least not without a richer bank account.’ She goes on with her work. Driving her fist harder into Kaga. ‘Before Akashi was summoned, I served as the medic to the girls… we’re a lot more resilient than we’re advertised, believe me.’ She grunts. ‘But we’re also… different. Not a lot of humans’ve learned how to treat us proper… down there, at least.’ She smiles at you, flushed. ‘You do know Kaga’s still in recovery from her last mission, of course.’

You frown as some liquid arousal from Houshou’s own nethers flicks onto your cheek. Houshou looks a little apologetic at it.

‘Yeah, I do.’

‘You do know the full extent of her injuries?’ She raises an eyebrow.

‘No, she… she just told me that… she had to hold her own guts in.’ You feel a little guilty now, and Kaga looks away, holding onto the back of her knees. ‘I should’ve asked more, huh?’

‘Well, it’s not as if it’s important…’ Houshou’s sarcasm is sharper than you’d normally give her credit for. ‘I’m glad you respected her privacy enough…’ She does something, pressing down on her pelvis with one hand and seemingly pushing inside with the other. ‘How does this feel, Kaga?’

The rivulet making its way out around Houshou’s hands answers for her; Houshou frowns as the wet slop pools on the mattress, muttering something or other about plastic and absent-mindedness. She pushes Kaga’s belly down, fully pulling out a hand, leaving an exhausted… almost euphoric Kaga resting on the mattress, trembling.

‘I... am envious.’ She says with a good-natured smile, leaning over the woman and kissing her on the forehead.

‘Houshou?’

‘It’s almost fully recovered, there’s no need to worry.’ She gives Kaga’s groin a good pat like a mechanic would the hood of a fixed car… and turns to you. ‘Sir?’

‘Yeah?’

She presents herself, throwing you a sultry gaze.

You can see everything.

‘So... how’s mine?’

This. Isn’t. Happening.

OOC: If you haven't notice, Carriers are backed the fuck up. That's what you get when some of your arrows are thinking about how they're going to bring their wives to the seventh level of Paradise after they get home from the war.

I'm so damn tired of us making faux passes. Every single time someone hears we refused one of these girls we get looks of disappointment or glares of irritation as they try to explain to us in small words that we should have taken the offer.

It feels like the standard conduct with these girls is very different from that of humanity. And our refusal to acknowledge that will only continue to cause us issues down the road.

Takao didn't have that teasing nature of hers until Atago passed... after which she started hanging out with Kaga and became... more cheerful and flirty, and a little more human. I can write a short story about their meeting if you want, expand it a little. Atago passed about 3 years ago in-universe.

CVs, CVLs and AVs generally don't get along with other Daughters.

‘All right, Houshou.’ You snicker, putting your hands on either side of her rump; she shivers – stiffens – in shock as you pull her behind towards you, breathing in her raw scent. ‘All right.’

‘S – Sir?’ Houshou looks back at you, over the mounds of her bottom, her eyes wide with fear… expectation… and desire.

You bite your lip, inexperienced as you are. You’d never been with a woman before. Your whole existence when it came to this pretty much boiled down to the pathetic pre-war blue films and spreads, which didn’t actually help much right now. You had never expected a woman – a real, breathing, pretty lady – to give themselves to you like this. You kiss her warm core like you would meet her lips.

You manage a view of Kaga, whose eyes grow wide in surprise at your action. Houshou gasps for breath, her legs quivering as you hug them close to your body, treating her warm opening as you would her delicate lips. You find yourself fighting down a smile as it winks violently at you, the rough texture of her goosebumps proving all too much that she was as much a woman as she was an instrument of war.

‘You’re glowing, Houshou.’ You rumble, reaching inside with a prosthetic, as though trying to pick at a hollow piece – one finger, then, two, stirring her looser-than-expected insides; you hum in delight as your actions cause her opening to spasm violently against your intrusion and Houshou’s hand hold on to your knee to keep her own person up.

‘Th – Thank you.’ Houshou’s voice is desperate, needy and afraid. ‘Are those your…?’

You roughly spread her; she cries out in a voice you find that you’re not used to – but don’t mind at all, raiding her for that she is worth like a starving man having his first meal in a long time. You don’t lick or probe – you drink her for all she’s worth – she flails in your arms, coiling and uncoiling like a fearful serpent, but you don’t let go.

Your left thumb probes her back entrance, and you hear her breath grow heavier and shallower with every prod of your digit. Houshou is crying out something fierce, there’s a sadness to her howls a desperation to her trembles, but you don’t give her an inch – you don’t give her a breadth. You would finish her, as she was, here and now – an intruder into her most private of regions.

You would eat her like you would the hungry at the winter feast.

Commander…’ She lets out a choked gasp – our thumb intrudes her other hole; you can feel her writhing violently, but she does the exact opposite of an animal trying to escape. ‘Oh!’

She draws herself into you even more, famished and needy for the sensations that you had bestowed upon her in the moments past. You take in the most raw of her scents, drinking from her like you would a fountain.

She twitches and spasms.

She screams.

And you feel a wet heat upon your shaft.

So something like this?
>>
You would cry out if you were the type to – it’s sudden and heavenly – up, down, around. You fall back onto your hands as Houshou rolls over, wet and sweaty, with a smile on her face as she regards you with more passion than you’d ever seen from a woman. You don’t know if you’d brought her to orgasm or to whatever climax you thought it was, but at least, to you, she looked happy.

A familiar tuft of fluffy brown hair makes its presence known. You open your eyes to see Kaga working – suckling upon your organ with a desperation and haze to behold. She looked more like a beast than anything that could be familiar, drawing her head up and down, bobbing onto it as though she needed it more than she needed breathing.

She raises her eyes to meet yours – and you notice the same fire in her eyes from the veiled fury that you had seen when she had kicked you through the door on the night of your first meeting.

‘Kaga… are you… angry with me?’ You manage; Kaga’s head did not bob up and down like those girls you had seen before – there was a painful and slow drawing motion to her movements – as though she was savoring the opportunity of servicing your erection for all it was worth.

She raises her head from the task, humming as it looked like she was savoring the flavor – as if she would be able to. She puts both hands on your knees, gazing at you with an indignant fervor.

‘I am annoyed,’ she bites her lip, glistening with drool from her undertaking, ‘I offered you all of me and you turned me down.’ You knew that was going to come up sometime – it was best that it would be now. ‘Houshou shakes one in your face and you go crawling to her like a lover in a cabin.’

‘I’m… sorry?’ You manage; Kaga puts a hand on your chest, and suddenly you feel conscious – the other tickles your nether region with delicate, teasing taps. Kaga waits patiently for your follow-up, giving your pair a gentle squeeze; you gasp, rambling. ‘I didn’t know what to do… I… I’m over the edge as it is, and – !’

‘Are you ashamed of yourself?’ Houshou crawls over to you on all fours, hooking and arm around you and kissing you in an almost perverse twist of motherly nature; she’s enticing – you’ll give her that.

‘I need to lose weight.’ You admit, grunting as Kaga continues to work you with her other hand, using your arms for support as you lean back into them even further. ‘Y – You said it yourself, right?’

‘You do…’ Houshou admits, giving you a wink… and grabbing Kaga’s chin.

She draws Kaga into an intense duel of the tongues, running her hand through the taller woman’s fluffy brown hair. You hardly believe your eyes as they try their best to consume one another, their hands on your shaft as you bite your tongue to keep yourself from breaking the momentum before either one of them did.

‘All of them.’ Kaga utters under a lidded gaze.

Not that often. They're needy. Not lustful. Carriers crave human-like needs, but they're not particularly aware of what they want. Houshou, for example, saves up for a gangbang almost every year to fulfill the need... but leaves feeling emptier than before. Same for Kaga, who's had a few willing soldier share her bed... but still feels the same sort of chasm in her heart.
>>
>>217147
so more a diet of cuddling and handholding than d giving then, more of being someone that is always there for them and to come home to than just flesh dildo
>>
>>217151
Houshou's gangbangs are sad when you think about it. They just leave her on the floor when is all said and done - she's just a client who paid extra because she's a "freak o' nature" and she can't be satisfied because she doesn't know what needs to be healed in her.

Then she goes back to her retirement plot and people call her a coward because she doesn't fight anymore.

Houshou wants to feel like a wife and a lover, not a fuckdoll like she thinks she could be. She's misinterpreted the lust matrix.

‘K – Kaga?’ You shudder under her intense gaze, before feeling Houshou’s hands underneath your t-shirt, running her hands along your flabby pectorals. You feel some embarrassment, but you’re too lost under the veil of lust and sex to care about anything other than the naked woman before you… and behind you. ‘Houshou?’

Kaga brings her head, gritting her teeth almost painfully to yours, looking at you with an expression you would never have thought a woman would look at you… except maybe that night… on the floor, with… you shake your head. If there was one thing life had taught you, it’s that women did not like you thinking about other women… or maybe it didn’t apply, because there were two here, and both lapping at you like an oasis in a desert.

‘I want you to fill me.’ She says with an animalistic intensity, gazing at you with a nonnegotiable command. ‘To the brim, front and back… I want to be filled, loved and needed… rven if it’s for a while, I want you to show me what it’s like to be a woman.’ She looks at you with softened eyes. ‘Your woman.’

She lets out a shrill cry – you blink in surprise, seeing Houshou come up behind Kaga with a smirk on her face. Kaga uses you as support, trembling as she turns back in fury at the other Carrier, who you notice, has her hands somewhere on Kaga’s nethers herself. The motion of her shoulder shows she’s playing almost teasingly with whatever was in her hands, rubbing Kaga’s bare breast with the other.

‘Calm down, little lady.’

‘H – Houshou!’ She says it like a curse… and Houshou does something to her that makes her go limp and biting her lip – a familiar smell hits your nose as you realize Houshou hadn’t just brought Kaga to orgasm – she had made Kaga downright lose all control over her own body.

The splash of warm liquid hits your lap with almost astounding familiarity as Kaga looks at you like a beggar and a whore, apologizing and tearful like she had been before – but there is a shamelessness to her act that only excites you and draws you in. You hold her, whispering to her that it would all be fine and to just let it all go… and she does, all of it; Houshou assaults her bottom with abandon, and though you can’t see all of it, Kaga’s squirms tell you she’s doing a much better work of it than you ever could.

‘Oh… Oh…’ Kaga finally stops; the second time today – she shivers and looks at you desperately, seeking a sort of approval. ‘I’m… I’m sorry… I’m so sorry…’ she utters again, and you raise your prosthetic to the side of her face.

‘Houshou.’ You send a half-glare to the woman still working at Kaga’s tender bottom… and she smiles apologetically, moving up to Kaga’s face from her previous position.

‘Kaga?’ She kisses the woman again, before turning to you. ‘She said all her holes.’

She puts a finger on your chin.

‘And mine.’

‘Aren’t you happy, sir, to lose your virginity to two beauties like us?’ Houshou smirks at you, hooking her arms around your neck; Kaga chuckles, her hand on your member – firm and soft.

‘I can think of better.’ You smirk back, playing their game.

The both of them reel back as if slapped, and you immediately know that you’d said the wrong thing. Houshou looks distraught and fearful, resting on the side of her legs and looking at you as though you’d kicked her. Kaga herself looks at you with a sense of dread, mumbling strange apologies under her breath as she shakes, looking at your form. You raise yourself to your knees, gesturing with your hands for calm.

‘I’m kidding! I’m kidding!’ You hurriedly say, reaching for the both of them with assurance. Kaga and Houshou touch your hands, hanging on to them as if for dear life, very much afraid. ‘What’s wrong?’

‘No, it’s just…’ Houshou clutches herself, reaching for her own nethers with a shiver, looking at you with an expression you can’t place, but one that you don’t enjoy at all. ‘You’re right, this is your first time, so…’ She lets out a smile – as fake as anything there could be, ‘It’s precious, isn’t it? To you?’

Her desperate and reluctant expression are enough to tug at your strings, and you put your flesh and blood hand underneath her chin, smiling in reassurance. To be quite honest, it was quite special to you, but… you suppose that you could get rid of that particular tag for these two.

‘Hey, I’m just joking.’ You repeat, reassuring her; you bring both hands to her. ‘Kaga, do you mind if I…?’

‘No.’ Kaga shakes her head, smiling, lying on the mattress. ‘Houshou, you can go first.’

‘Houshou?’ You gesture to her; her eyes widen as she takes your hand, shifting her legs.

She nods, almost reluctantly, and you can’t help but think that what you had said before stung deeper than you’d thought. She lies on her back on the floor, and you wonder if you have a towel somewhere that you could use to make it more bearable for her. You were about 200 pounds of fat, after all… and your bulk was a horrible thing to behold, even for you – you briefly wonder if Houshou felt she could do better.

‘It must be quite a disappointment for you… to lose it to someone like me.’ She raises a hand to your cheek as you line up with her expectant entrance, warm and inviting.

‘Houshou.’ You groan, beginning your push.

She looks terrified and desperate, holding onto your shoulders to cease your actions, and you wonder if you’d done something wrong

‘I’m sorry… sir?’ She practically blubbers. ‘If… If it’s all right with you, if it’s okay, and I know that it’s on your part and it’s very much up to you, but…’

Her voice breaks as she utters her next words.

‘Can you at least pretend that you love me, please?’

‘No, I can’t.’ You say neutrally, and with an almost merciless motion, thrust right into her; you may not have been of a girth that could be anything remotely close to gargantuan, but you ram into her with a force to be believed – Houshou immediately looks away, her teeth chattering as you feel her heat around you, sucking you in; she doesn’t move, her fingers raking against the wooden floor as though in pain.

You smile, moving her hand from her eyes and looking at you. She looks at you with fear and disappointment, with eyes that cry out in agony and a face contorted into someone facing a nightmare.

You stroke her chin softly… and a trembling hand takes it, afraid and vulnerable.

‘But I’ll worry about you when you go out on a mission,’ you go on ‘I’ll miss you when you’re not around the corner in the Hall; I’ll take care of you when you’re too weak to get up and go out… and I’ll fib to the Admiral when you and Nagato go for your girl’s nights out and say you’re on patrol.’

Houshou’s eyes widen in surprise as it finally dawns on her – she could be so slow, really. Her wetness takes you in and keeps you from moving out as you like – a suction than you’d never known before and had never expected to have known… wet, hot and as welcome as a doormat on a mountainside cabin.

You hunch over her, feeling the burn in your thighs as you kept the pace – no wonder blue film stars were so bloody fit – and Houshou moans, smiling through her tears. You slow down, hoping she wouldn’t break, conscious of your own weight and size; Houshou meets your thrusts, taking all of you like a lover that only she could.

‘I’ll fill out horrible stacks of paper and ink just to make sure the ISSF keeps you happy…’ Houshou laughs out loud, before covering her mouth with one hand. ‘And I’ll definitely be waiting for you when you come through that door, tired and hungry.’ You wink at her. ‘Hungry for my dick, that is.’

Houshou giggles, covering her mouth.

You don’t know how long you’re on the floor, but Houshou’s lovely eyes and pert chest grab all your attention and seem to warp whatever sensation you have of time, until there’s only the two of you, lost in a labyrinth of pleasure and man and woman. You go fast, then slow

You thrust into her harder and harder, and she quivers, her legs raising to the air as you hope what could be an orgasm, a climax, comes to pass. Her head cocks back, banging against the floor almost painfully as her legs reach for the ceiling.

You realize that you had finished inside her not moments before, the wet, sticky sensation of your own release apparent, stirred by your wild motions. Houshou shuffles in place, your erection decidedly inside her, snug and at home.

‘Commander…’ She smiles, putting her hand on either side of her butt... and spreading ‘I believe I said… all

‘I thought you were kidding.’ You admit as Houshou rolls her hips with you still inside her, humming with a bliss you can’t believe that you had a hand in; she seems content, pressing onto her belly.

‘This feels wonderful, really…’ She gestures to your still-erect state, lodged inside her, groaning as she leans on her elbow before you. ‘This warmth of yours. It’s not about the size, after all, is it?’ She winks at you, spreading herself in a view obstructed by your joined sexes. ‘But… aren’t you curious at all, Commander?’

‘Isn’t that where you…’ You stutter.

‘Observant.’ She smirks, groaning as she heaves herself, sliding off of you, the evidence of your session apparent with the thick rivulet that seemed to seep out of her endlessly.

You wordlessly approach her again. Houshou’s legs are still quivering from the aftermath of your initial joining, and you can’t help but feel a smidgen of pride from the fact that you had been the one to bring her to that sort of state. She smiles at you as she keeps her expectant hole spread – you feel more nervous than you probably should be, more worried for Houshou than you had been before.

You finally reach her puckered bud… and with a final nod of assurance from her, you push.

The reaction is immediate, as she once more arches her back from the thrust, scrunching her face in a motion of what could only be described as concentration. You cease your motion, and Houshou’s teeth grits as she looks at you with an animalistic need and passion, grabbing onto your prosthetic to continue your act of penetration. You lean the best you can, but Houshou turns away, her legs quivering as you barely find your bearings in the new sensation of her rectum.

‘Houshou?!’

‘Keep going… I want to feel it… all of it…’ She begs, hugging herself, legs spread and weak, quivering in a pool of your lust and hers. She pleads you with one last look. ‘Please, sir?’

You don’t need anything else. Without any other warning, you bring yourself completely into Houshou’s hole – it wasn’t warm and wet – but it was definitely tighter and more painful for you as well. It squeezed upon your erection like a vice, putting pressure on every curve of it like you never before felt. Houshou herself trembles as you finally bury yourself at the hilt, her mouth opened up into a wordless cry.

Commander! Commander!’

She call for you with every thrust you make. You hang on to her hips as her tears turns into amalgamations of lust and fury, grunting and meeting you as she did before, her tongue out and her eyes rolled over as though possessed, a warmth spreading between the both of you as with a mighty cry… you let it all out in her. She milks you for all you are worth, this succubus, this… woman.

She touches your cheek with a shaky hand, and you find yourself speechless once more.

‘L... Love you,' are her last words, drifting off.

You slide out of the unconscious Houshou – albeit with more difficulty than you expected – another stream of off-white sliding down from her hole onto the floor; you briefly wonder if you really did all of that as you drop onto your back. Feeling very much exhausted and thirsty, you look around for something to offer you nourishment, finding none.

You feel a weight on your belly, and a hand attempting to relieve you of your only article of clothing – the now-dirty white t-shirt of yours. A tired eye pops open and you see the naked form of Kaga, her hands running beneath your form and against your embarrassing folds. You lazily raise your hands to get her to complete the task.

‘You promised me, too.’ She says, completely deadpan, throwing your clothing across the room.

You groan, putting a hand to your temples.

‘C – Can I take a raincheck on that, please?’ You say in an – even to you – a whiny voice that you had never thought you would possess. ‘I… I need a break, I think. I definitely need a break.’

You feel a sloppy, wet and rough sensation along your groin. The sound of slurping and suckling seems to echo in your ears as the feelings of warmth and lust seem to return tenfold, your body suddenly in a heightened state of sensitivity. Your breath catches in your throat as you try to fight against it, but Kaga is relentless, running her tongue and lips against you with an almost inhuman and devilish abandon.

‘Kaga, what are you doing?’ You manage to utter, your nails raking against the floor as Houshou once did.

‘You know what I’m doing. She says simply.’ And she’s right back at it, only taking agonizing, momentary pauses between her motions. ‘Relax.’

‘Kaga, wa – !’

You gasp as a wave of release and relief rocks against you, and you feel you let it all go; as you spurt continuously, you see Kaga… continue to suckle on you, the sounds of her actions the only thing heard in the room for a good while. You look in disbelief as she raises herself from her full height, her lips stained with your essence…

And gulps it all down with a look of sheer bliss.

Tasteless…’ She smiles, almost sadly, depositing herself on your groin. ‘But I could get used to it.’

‘Used to it?’ You raise an eyebrow in amusement.

‘Kaga?’

She slides you inside of her, and you grunt in pain as the sensations return with a vengeance. Kaga herself bites down on her lip, bent over you, sweaty, impatient, and as desperate as Houshou had been before. You try to protest, but find your throat dry.

She brings herself to the hilt with you, and holds on to you with an almost child-like need.

‘You… don’t have to fill every hole I have, and you… you don’t have to say you love me, but… could you at least…’

She nuzzles and clutches at you, and you feel even her wetness embrace you as never before.

Just hold me, please?’

>Damnit, HOLD THAT KANMUSU
>>
You don’t know how long she’s in your arms, you on your back and her resting on you. You don’t look at her in the eye nor do you begin with the motions as you did Houshou. You twitch inside her, her core and being shifting with every breath, but neither of you move, until you feel a roll of her hips and she’s up again, her eyes half-closed, but a… a smile is there, a genuine one, right there. You raise a hand to the side of her face again, and she holds it, her expression one of bliss and happiness.

‘I’m sorry.’ She breaks into tears. ‘I’m sorry, I know that I’m asking too much from you, sir.’ She doesn’t look at you, grasping at your prosthetic – you feel a fear from her, a crutch – and you pull it away, raising yourself to meet her lips, not caring where she’s been; Kaga mumbles something into your kiss, but you find that you don’t care what it is.

Right now, it was just you and her.

‘I don’t have two, but…’ You pull back, reaching your left hand behind her, probing her rear.

‘O – Oh…’ She blushes, turning her attentions to you again. She bites her lip, trying her best to return to the level-headedness she once had – you admit, after all the snaps, this vulnerable Kaga was really starting to grow on you. ‘Be a little…’ You slide a finger in, and her face contorts into utter ecstasy. ‘Gentleyes…’

Your hips don’t move, but your fingers alternate on Kaga’s backside, one long thrust in and out in an almost memorized pattern. Kaga stays still on top of you, quivering every time a finger makes an intrusion… and every time it fully leaves her. Her breath grows shallower by the moment, until you realize that her trembling becomes more frequent with every in-and-out you make.

That’s when you begin to roll your hips.

Kaga meets you halfway, and you’re meeting each other’s motions in a synchronization of movements. Every time your rolls meet hers, you have to fight back your own orgasm; unlike the rough and tumble with Houshou, you and Kaga take your time, up and down, left and right and around. You raise yourself to her breasts, lovingly suckling on them as she rides you and you prod and tease at her.

You don’t know how long it takes, it could have been eons but she reaches a climax. It does not shatter your sensations – it does not break you open – but Kaga reaches it and it simply destroys her.

Kaga does not scream, she does not yell or cry out curses or niceties. She merely drops onto you, a shivering, quivering, mess of woman and pleasure, her control over whatever she had over her being all but gone – you are her altar, her object of worship… and she your Kaga. That was all she ever could be.

She collapses on top of you, your seed and being leaking out of her in a proud claim.

As she nuzzles against you, pleasured and tired, you can only think of one thing.

That you are fucking exhausted.

I've got nowhere else knowledgeable to ask on this but...

Why do a lot of Kancolle quests not set up characters together already with their sister ships or their historical division assignments? Most of the time we see only 1 ship of a class or 1 ship of a given division put together with ships in the same way. There's a certain ensemble cast logic at play, I think, by having the sister ships play off each other or their divisionmates contrast?

I don't know how it is for the other KANcOLLE quests but this one is set in a SNAFU universe and half the ships are dead, so it's normal for a significant number of their historical division and other members of their class to be dead, thus requiring that divisions be changed and reshuffled often.

>...have a clear enough Stream for one of them to love about us.
This has been bugging me. What the heck does a clear stream even mean aside from a lack of fog? It's clearly important, its been mentioned several times, but nobody has ever explained it or why it is attractive to kanmasu.
>>
>>219831
I've got a theory about the Stream. Tinfoil hat time.

The fairies opened the stream for us, which is apparently unheard of. What if our stream is also the clearest of any Quickening? This would explain the KanMusus' reactions. I'm banking on us literally being the Chosen One. And I think that Kaga and Houshou could sense that to a degree.
>>
>>219849
Oh balls. I didn't finish my whole thought before hitting enter:

And I'd bet the "clearness" of the Stream has to do with how well we can control it. Houshou seemed genuinely surprised when Kaga told her about us pulling her out of the Stream physically, meaning that something like that might also be pretty much unheard of. If that's the case, our exceptionally clear stream might give us a significant advantage when commanding.
>>
>>219849
Possibly, though I think we were told outright that undergoing quickening is a consious act that must be undertaken by the individual. Personally I suspect we were already Quickened by the time of our swearing in and that the fairies were making sure everything was 'go' prior to letting us command their shipgirls. There is a massive gap in our knowledge between when we were injured and when we were discharged. Anything could have happened then.

Regardless, that still doesn't explain what having a clear stream means. It doesn't mean having an organized mind (Kaga noted that ours was quite cluttered) and it doesn't mean our mind is stable (the girls arguing in the tent feared how an unstable commander with such a clear stream would affect them).
>>
>>219907
Maybe it means that we give the most upgraded power?
>>
>>219907
I actually went back and reread the tent scene just now. From what I can tell, they didn't mention the clarity of our stream at all, just how unstable we were. Which I'm betting Kaga helped us fix.

looks like nagato and takao have some serious rivals now....i hope this does not cause commander more stress and the like with their shenanigans
>>
>>219923
Interesting, I'm doing that myself right now.

Also, according to MECHANIC,
>>214465
we did that ourselves while Kaga and the fairies isolated our soul (and I just realized he never told me what that means save that our soul was not placed in solitary).
>>
>>220087
I wouldn't say they're rivals necessarily. Nachi and Tenryuu seem genuinely worried that feedback could cause serious damage, while Takao and Nagato have faith in the Commander's abilities to keep that side of himself under control. I just hope we get the option to address their concerns fully. It would suck if we woke up the next morning and found out that they had transferred.
>>
>>220156
>Takao and Nagato have faith in the Commander's abilities to keep that side of himself under control.

I honestly don't think the sex is where Nakato will be hung up. After all, as has been said earlier in the quest, nakedness is nothing compared to seeing each other's soul's in a stream.

When we entered the stream with Kaga we didn't just look, we literally touched each others souls. Of course, on the other hand, she /was/ going on earlier about how she trusted the fairy's judgement when it came to us.
>>216616
Going by what Houshou said earlier, those faries went against orders to help Kaga do that.

First of all, don't clean yourself. You need to look like the most depraved being to assert your dominance over the boss. You're reeking of piss, shit and sex, it's awesome.

To you, Kaga’s low, satisfied howl as you finally separate would have you shouting to the rafters at any other time, but spent as you are, you merely cup her cheeks and close the distance with a kiss. She trembles, slightly smiling at you and holding on to you with shaking fingers. The sweat between the both of you acts as a sort of link – she hears to you breathing and you wonder, vaguely, if there was anything that could top this sort of thing after.

‘I was wrong, wasn’t I?’ Kaga hums, kissing your jawline delight as you feel droplets escape from her entrance and onto your pelvis. She raises herself on her elbows, either side of you; Kaga arches her back with a crick, as if waking up from comfortable slumber, smile indicating the deepest of bliss. ‘Doesn’t really matter, does it?’

She raises a familiar finger, wiggling it and smirking at you. You give a lop-sided smile, resting on your own two elbows.

‘I’m glad you… had a good time.’ You spill-over, and Kaga brings her head close to your again; she doesn’t look like she had a bad time either. You slowly manage to get the rest of your bearings. ‘So… what happens… now?’

‘Now… well…’ Kaga’s lips lock with yours again, her hand running through your hair – she pulls away in a sudden motion, frowning. ‘You didn’t use my shampoo this morning, did you?’

‘You can tell?’ You blink; you had not expected her to have such a keen nose.

‘So you didn’t use it.’ Her mouth breaks into a frown – though naked, she did manage to look at you with a good amount of disdain. ‘So where’s the bottle?’

‘I… lent it to Takao?’ You shrug, and you wonder if that isn’t the stupidest thing that you could have said.

Commander.’ It’s amazing how much she resembles Nagato – with that smile, the firm grip on your naked shoulders and eyes glinting with the promise of physical harm.

Then she throws her head back, clutching her sides as she steps away, laughing at you.

‘You are honestly biting off a lot more than you can chew, you know?’ She says in good nature, giving you a wink; you yourself take a step back, nervous and confused at the reaction – and just how… amused Kaga seems with you. She raises an eyebrow to you, gesturing. ‘What’s wrong?’

‘No, I thought…’ You scratch the back your head – nude as you are, your nervousness is more inclined to just how… different Kaga was right now. It could have been the afterglow – it could have been anything, but she actually seemed… jolly of all things, now. ‘I thought that you’d… get jealous.’

She smiles at you kindly, kissing you on the cheek.

‘A little.’ She admits. ‘I mean, there’s only so much of you to go around.’

She wiggles her finger with a smirk.

She's back.

‘Go on – you have a meeting, don’t you?’

She wiggles her bottom, tending to the downed Houshou.

You grab a towel on the rack, wrapping it around your waist as you exit the room, a little euphoric over the last several moments – a clock down the corridor says that it’s already in the early evening – you’d spent close to two hours in that room with your two Carriers, surprisingly – but you’re thankful that it hadn’t eaten into your time.

You walk into the bathroom, past the partition and into the showers – Kaga’s shampoo was still there on the floor as you’d left it. You throw your towel over the rack and turn the middle knob on, feeling the water rush onto your open palm, before something hits you.

Quickly getting out of the shower, you wrap yourself in a towel and rush down to your room again, where you see a surprised Kaga with a peaceful Houshou, offering her bare lap as a pillow to the exhausted woman. She looks up to you, probably wondering what is it that you want.

‘Kaga?’ You begin sheepishly, trying your hardest not to sound too desperate.

‘Hm?’

‘Can I borrow some soap?’ You wince as you say the words; Kaga’s immediate reaction sells just how idiotic it is. ‘Please?’

‘You are demanding today, aren’t you, sir?’ Kaga says crisply, crossing her arms as she regards you. ‘Do you know how expensive these bottles are?’

‘Yeah – sorry.’ You feel a little ashamed ‘I lost most of my things during the attack, you know.’

‘Don’t mooch.’ She replies, but not without amusement in her voice. She points to the open cabinet. ‘There. I’m sure surplus or maintenance’ll have a few bars for the barracks – I think they just haven’t prioritized ours yet.’

‘Ours?’ You take one bottle that didn’t look too pricey. ‘Who else is there?’

Civilians.’ Kaga answers, not missing a beat; you’d never thought of it like that before.

You give Kaga another nod of thanks, making your way out the door and down the corridor in quick strides. You may have had time on your side, but there was no sense in pushing your luck with the mental timestamp – as you approach a door, the muffled sound of footsteps catches your ears and you hesitate with one foot into the bathroom.

Takao walks up the stairs, clutching a package, her expression surprisingly neutral as she reaches the corridor. She regards you for a moment – you see a flash of something – with the glance, before her lips turn into a smile.

‘The MPs are downstairs.’ You open your mouth to say something, but she cut you off. ‘I met with the Vice-Admiral before we left the MASH… he explained the situation. I’ll be ready, sir.’

Takao hands you over the package, which you take.

‘Your formalwear…’ Takao offers a half-smile. ‘He said try not to destroy this one.’

‘No promises.’ You chuckle.

Takao bites her lip, clutching her arm. She looks troubled.

both. No one cares about being naked.

‘Takao? What’s wrong?’ You look at her, worried. Takao seems to reel at your touch – that had never happened in the day you both were together; though a small part of you wondered if you did deserve it after what you had pulled in the morning. ‘Did something happen?’

‘N – Nothing, sir.’ She shakes her head, nervously smiling and waving her hands.

‘Takao?’ You take a step towards her, not convinced by her demeanor at all; she was acting mightily suspicious.

Takao’s shoulders droop, and you see her regain the elegant, playful composure that you had known her for – or at least a pretty good attempt at it. It didn’t alleviate your fears, but at least you know that she’d steadied herself somewhat since the small talk started. She gives you a nod, her brows joining into a frown – she’s all business now – the picture of professionalism.

‘Would you mind if I join you for that shower?’ She asks you with a smile, taking her hat off. ‘I… I think I might need one as badly as you do, sir.’

‘All right.’ You nod – if there’s one thing you learned today, being naked somehow led to truth and you were rolling with that so long as you believed it had some worth.

You lean against the wall of the bathroom as Takao makes a zip for her room and back out, clad in a towel. She’s surprisingly stiff as she walks past you and into the bathroom, not sparing you a single glance as she does. It’s awkward, but you don’t think much of it; for now, you had to get ready for your meeting… the both of you did, in fact.

You make your way inside the bathroom, seeing Takao shake her hair for a bit and depositing her towel on the rack. You yourself head to the toilet first, suddenly feeling an urge to let go – and you’re back out within minutes and past the partition, your towel on the rack and turning a knob on the closest shower to you. Takao, naked and frowning, clearly thinking of something. You wait for the rain of water to get warm… and as the minutes close, you step into the shower first, relishing its comforts.

As you begin to pour soap for yourself, you find a force hit into your back and a strong pair of arms around you in an embrace that you feel rather awkward in. Even with the hot sensation of the shower, there is an alien quality to the presence. You keep yourself steady – glad that you’re at least not backed up in the least any longer… you could deal with this.

That’s what you tell yourself.

‘T – Takao?’ You begin, wondering if this was another one of her ways to tease you. You feel the grip around your belly getting stronger, her palms pressing against your flesh as awkwardness begins to creep upon you once more. ‘Is there something up?’

You try to look around to give her a look… but her gaze is covered by her wet locks, her nose and lips obscured by your shoulder.

What did it feel like?

You freeze.

This new vote doesn't focus on the act (which is important, but not something she can relate to right now), but on the underlying reason behind our actions. We didn't do it to mess with them. We didn't do it out of duty, or as payment.

We did it because we truly care about them. They needed to know that we trust and accept them. That we value them in their entirety, and most importantly, that we will not shy away from them like literally everyone else.

We will be there for them them. Just as they have been there for us.

I disagree, I feel it does the opposite. *It emphasises that we view kanmusu as women.* That in itself is a massive divergence from the norm in this world. More importantly, it is a label she has felt and experienced us applying to her just earlier this morning (IC).

Had I named names, it would have excluded her entirely. Had I specified 'making love' instead of more ambiguous 'with', it would imply that she has to do the same to qualify. 'With' makes it clear that we see as women in more than just the bedroom.

‘What did what feel like?’ You try to deflect a bit, futile as it is.

Takao unlocks from her embrace – you turn around to see, for the first time, distance and irritation in her eyes. Attractive she may have been, but you had a stinking feeling she could go toe-to-toe with the best in a war of words and pull out daggers. You realize you’d made a mistake, but don’t say anything as you refocus on the vexed KanMusu, whose eyes narrow.

‘Sir…’ She says, almost coldly, ‘I may be flighty, but…’ The next one is almost a plea – a declaration to herself as much as it is to you. ‘Don’t think of me as a moron.’

‘You know I don’t.’ You reply truthfully, turning away and beginning to lather your hair. ‘But I don’t kiss and tell, either.’

‘Kiss and tell?’ Takao’s confused voice is clear even with the heavy rain of the shower. ‘Sir?’

‘I can’t believe I’m actually saying that.’ You grumble – you never thought you’d have the opportunity to even have half the rights to say that word. ‘What I mean is that… what happened there is… my business and mine alone.’

Takao actually looks hurt. You kick yourself mentally.

‘That sounded worse, didn’t it?’ You bring your hands to your head, racking your brains for another explanation. ‘All right, hang on… Takao.’ You put your hands on her arms, and her eyes widen in surprise. ‘I’m sorry I slept with them?’

Her mouth twists into a disgusted shape – even she knew how horrible that sounded.

‘I don’t think that’s…’ She shakes her head.

‘Yeah, me neither. Hang on… wait. It’s classified. Let’s try this one more time.' Your throat clears. 'It means that you don’t talk about these kind of things with other people because it might hurt the feelings or be misinterpreted by others.’

‘That sounds like it’s straight out of a dictionary.’ She gives you a flat look that wouldn’t be out of place on Murakumo.

‘Yeah, closest thing I got.’ You sigh, bringing your hand up to her cheek. You fully expect her to give you a little lesson in pain after what you pulled – you’d mentally prepared yourself for it. ‘But I know I must be a bit of a hypocrite to you right now.’

It wasn’t easy, not at all.

Sir?’

You bite the inside of your cheek – no wonder there was a disdain for cheaters…

‘I got angry at you for sitting on the Vice-Admiral’s lap.’ You raise an eyebrow – both in curiosity and apology, bracing yourself. ‘I shouldn’t be expecting you to not be angry with me for this?’

‘Angry?’ Takao looks confused, frowning.

‘Well…’ You fumble. ‘Women get jealous… right?’

Jealous?’ She looks away, stepping back from you, mumbling but still holding on.

She embraces you joyfully and suddenly – letting out a happy cry as her arms wrap around you tightly.

‘Yes… Women get jealous.’

Apparently your plan for the gang discussion included showering, mind telling us what's coming next?

‘Takao?’ You can’t help but laugh – something tickles you inside; Takao’s embrace isn’t lustful or teasing – she’s actually hugging you, proper. ‘Are you crying?’

‘No, it… it’s your soap.’ She rubs the side of her eye, suddenly raising her hands in apology, but you can very much tell even under the shower drops, she’s sniffing. ‘I’m jealous, huh?’

‘I didn’t mean it like that.’ You admit, wiping away some soap from your own eye. Takao shakes her head, resting herself against you again, and you can’t help but return the favor under the shower, stroking her hair – she’s hysterical, even with the best control she can manage, she weeps into you. There’s no sadness, no anger or frustration… even you can tell: it’s relief. ‘Takao?’

‘I’m jealous.’ She giggles, making you puzzled. ‘I’m jealous, that’s right. I’m jealous of Houshou and Kaga.’ She says it as though in affirmation, as though in prayer, her arms linked behind you despite your girth. ‘This is… this is my first time – sorry, I… I know the feeling, but this is the first time I’ve – !’

She cuts herself off, pressing her face to yours in a cool, passionate kiss that even send you reeling – it’s more awkward than romantic – and in no way is it an innocent plant, but there’s an underlying joy from it that just seems contagious. Kaga’s kiss had been rough, desperate and wet – Takao’s, in comparison was tentative, a little more hesitant and much less daring… with her you felt like a schoolboy in a closet with that adorable girl in the corner seat.

In comparison to Houshou and Kaga… Takao’s touch just invigorated you. Pulling away, you find yourself suddenly with the energy to possibly run rounds around the town and have enough for a second round with…

No, that’d be pushing it.

‘I have horrible taste, don’t I?’ She giggles mirthlessly, giving your belly a rub.

She turns redder than you expect, and you just can’t keep down that coy smile making its way to your features.

Takao detaches from you, and the shower goes on without incident save for her borrowing more of the soap and shampoo. The talk after is light and casual, mostly about her insistence of the incarceration of one particular buggy driver and his buggy. It crosses your mind to talk about what happened in the tent, but you find that in order to keep Takao functioning with her focus – and that it would be better to discuss it as a group rather than one-to-one, anyway. You knew Takao was at least on your side.

The both of you regard each other, leaving the bathroom together, only to come face-to-face with the neutral but tired gazes of another pair of towel-clad tenants.

‘Houshou.’ Takao declares, looking from one to the other. ‘Kaga.’

You take a reflexive step back, wondering why the rest of your instincts hadn’t kicked in. The two and one combination seem to size up one another, although you could feel eyes upon you – Kaga’s rough stare and Houshou’s curious gaze to you as they stand opposite to Takao, whose euphoric and enthusiastic expression belied her years of service. She looked practically giddy to you right now.

‘Takao.’ Houshou gives a light bow, which she surprisingly doesn’t return.

‘I – I felt it… I felt…’ She gets straight into it; she has a rough start, but Takao gains her bearings soon, gesturing her arms in a furious motion and you wonder if you should pull them away briefly – but her expression is unlike her apparent furious body language. ‘I hate you right now, you know?’

‘Oh?’ Kaga is taken aback – she throws you a glance, which you do your best to ignore.

‘But not because you’re a Carrier… not that, I…’ Takao sounds so deliriously happy now, gritting her teeth but letting out a grunt of joy. ‘I’m not sure how to explain it, but… Kaga! Houshou!’ She calls out, almost a little too loudly. ‘I’m jealous of you! I’m just so jealous that you and the Commander did it!’

You hope to Heaven that you’re not red. It was a little embarrassing.

‘Takao?’ Kaga raises a hand, reaching out for the CA, throwing a worried glance at you as if you had something to do with her strange behavior.

‘Not because you can… not because that you could… but because it…’ She relaxes a bit, clutching herself, tears now threatening to spill at the corner of her eyes again. ‘because it was with the both of you and I heard you, and… because it wasn’t me.’

Kaga moves, and you think that she’s going to hit her, but your Carrier wraps her arms tightly around Takao. She holds her in a motherly embrace, smiling softly – she turns to you, that kindly expression making your cheeks stain red; you rub the back of your neck, feeling a little uncomfortable under her gaze.

‘Takao…’ She comforts her, holding the back of her head.

‘I’m jealous. I’m so jealous…’

‘And I think I have horrible taste in men.’

Your eyes narrow.

‘I’m right here, you know.’

They don’t pay attention to you, giving each other – irritating – nods of understanding.

‘Don’t worry, I think we all do.’ Houshou pats Takao on the shoulder – giving you a sly wink that didn’t do much for your mood, either – and your raise your arms in exasperation. ‘How accursed are we as Daughters to be slaves to this!’

Houshou gives your belly a pat.

‘You’re harpies.’

‘You love us.’

You grab your package from the floor and head to your room for a change, ignoring the giggling – it doesn’t take long to get into your new wear, either, fancy as it is.

Kaga and Takao were already good friends prior to this. Takao knows how badly Kaga has it and how hollow her sessions in bed with her partners have been the last few years. Takao knows envy. She's just never had envy "Over someone" - the closest thing to envy most Shipgirls have had are their annoyance for the Carriers and the spectrum (But most don't fully understand it) and usually when another Ship performs better than them.

So she's jealous that you did the horizontal mambo with Kaga and Houshou, doesn't begrudge them for it... and is happy that she can feel that way. If that makes sense.

You let Takao in – she’s clad in what could only be described as non-regulation. She’s in a little black dress that hugs just way too much for your liking – to your liking in a pair of heels that looked more expensive than probably the whole run-down barracks.

‘Houshou and Kaga are still in the shower.’ She explains, walking into your room. ‘You should do something about that smell.’

You nod, a little red as the scent of the deed still did linger – much stronger than you thought it would, not to mention Kaga’s own…

‘Takao, I’d like to go over the plan with you again, if that’s all right with you,’ She nods, clutching her elbows at you; you cross your arms, eyes on her. ‘What do you know about the assignment so far?’

‘That we’re going to be negotiating the turnover of the district’s unofficial jurisdiction from the gangs… right into our hands. The Vice-Admiral told me he’s been in contact with some members who’ve arranged the meeting in the commercial plaza – wherever that is.’ To this, you nod – Takao then continues. ‘He also told me to keep the visible assistance to you to a minimum but to keep you on your toes during the negotiations and to explicitly not engage the gang boss or any of their members.’

You nod again; Takao looks troubled, as though struggling with something again.

‘Sir, if I may speak freely – don’t you think it’s rather stupid to walk into gang territory with just a handful of MPs as protection?’ She puts her arms out, exasperated. ‘If things get ugly – which I estimate is highly likely from my bare data with you around…’

You actually snicker at that.

‘You’re not going to have the clearest of roads out of there.’ She bites her lip. ‘Which means we might actually have to play with their cards if we’re going to hope for the best.’

You open the door – the both of you enter the corridor, continuing to talk as you make your way to the exit of the barracks.

‘The Vice-Admiral’s leaving it in my hands… in our hands.’ You correct yourself at the last moment. ‘We’ll see what he wants and what we can give… or take. The objective isn’t the elimination of the gangs but to delegate who’s going to be holding the most muscle in the district.’ You nod at her. ‘I don’t personally think we’re going to be able to get rid of the gang problem in one night, but we might be able to soften it if things go our way.’

‘Well, maybe if I put on a good show and ask really nicely?’ Takao juts a hip, a finger on her hand. ‘But, sir?’

You open the door, throwing her an amused glance.

‘If anything happens in there… no promises.’

Before you can reply, a familiar honking reaches your ears.

Takao’s face scrunches in disgust as the old man waves at her, his buggy loaded with three quaking MPs.

She doesn't struggle getting in this time.

Takao is part of the faction of surface combatant shipgirls who want to more fully experience and understand the spectrum of human emotions and relationships that common knowledge holds they are incapable of.

As it turns out however, common knowledge is at least partially wrong. It wasn't an iherent deficiency that prevented Takao from feeling envy over someone; it's just that in all her years of service nobody has cared enough about her, or stayed around long enough for her to form an emotional attachment.

We did, and because we did, she got jealous when we had sex with Kaga and Houshou. Her behavior is because her joy at feeling a little more human outweighs any jealousy she is experiencing.

Or at least, that's my understanding of things. Feel free correct me.

Wonder if this thread can be open to Kancolle Quest general talk during downtime or if /qsg/ is the best place in spite of possible shitposting?

I worry that doing so would turn the threads into "let's bitch about recent events in Merc's/Planefag's/somebody's quest" instead of creative discussion

Right, better keep it in /qsg/. Sorry.

I for one would prefer if you didn't. The universe of this quest is quite divergent from canon in major ways and is fairly well developed to boot.

There are a lot of details we need to keep track of and muddying up the thread with discussions about a similar, but quite distinct universe would make harder to do that.

‘You guys okay?’

‘We’re good, sir. You?’ One of them answers – they’re all men of varying height, but they’re all built similarly – they were strong and cruelly built; one had a mustache, the other a goatee and the other was clean-shaven and had a noticeable gap between his front teeth.

‘Can’t complain. You guys know what we’re going in for?’

‘Well… we’re just here to make sure you get out of there breathing, sir, honestly.’ The mustachio-ed one shrugs, turning to the one with a gap in his teeth. ‘These guys are punks, honestly, but they’re smart punks. Smart punks are dangerous punks.’

‘What makes you say that?’

‘They’ve got a better hold on the town than the Admiralty does… the civvies actually seem to prefer them to us.’ The goatee-ed one answer in a rumbling voice. ‘Don’t see why, though, since we’re the damn – !’

‘Hey, come on, Commander don’t need to hear that!’ His comrade smacks the back of his head, throwing his hat off.

‘No, it’s all right.’ You raise a hand to the both of them, indicating him to continue.

‘These guys are organized – small time, but organized. Their head’s ex-Yakuza, and from what I heard from my friends is a total wannabe.’

‘Wannabe?’

‘It’s like… he’s trying to prove a point or something.’ He smirks. ‘He ain’t keeping tabs with the city slickers, though, that’s for sure.’

‘They’d friggin’ gut him if they knew he was – !’

‘We’re here.’ The old man declares. 'Steady.'

You arrive in the plaza, where half a dozen men stood, brandishing bats and bars. You drop out of the buggy, helping Takao out.

‘So the high-and-mighty decided to drop with the rest of us flies, huh?’ A thin one, dressed in jacket and leather, approaching you. ‘Yer pretty early.’

‘We’re all about time in the military.’ You dust off your hat, holding a hand out to the head gangster, who only gives you a look of disgust – you pull away, not wishing to push your luck.

‘Ya ain’t military, though.’ He sneers, pressing the end of the bat to your chest; you could press back, but stagger a little backwards – you had a role to play here, after all. ‘Yer a meat seller… only thing that’s the difference between us ‘s yer got a dang badge on yer chest fer it.’

He turns to the other five, gesturing to them to corral you – hopefully towards the boss. The MPs give you some room in the escorted circle, when one of them approaches you, flashing Takao a look you did not like at all. He hunches at you, looking your straight in the eye with a look of utter self-superiority.

‘Boss’ll let yer goons in – nothin’ about her, though.’ He gestures to Takao, who stiffens. ‘Besides, might be good get a little more on our… good side, right?’

Option Three is even worse. She is not a favor to be handed out.
>>
>>223884
Are Kanmusu allowed to defend themselves against human aggression? Like with non-lethal takedown tactics or something?
>>
>>223987
From what I've heard? No. I think the assumption is that no human could hurt a kanmasu, so any violence in their part is (excepting very rare circumstances) unjustified.

Defense of another /might/ be such an exception, as is possibly engaging humans under our orders, but we would have to quickly convince both the Admiralty and the faries of that fact.

In any case it's best to avoid putting her in such a situation in the first place.

‘She’s my very personal assistant.’ You raise a hand to halt the action. He frowns at you, that snarl growing. ‘She’s coming with us.’

Another one, darker and burlier, steps forward, hoisting a stick with barbed wire, giving a disturbed Takao a wink that you find her reeling at.

‘Hey, come on, man, a little bit o’ – !’

The MPs step in immediately, unamused by the insistence. They shake their heads, cracking their knuckles; the one with the gap in his teeth even spits to one side; the other thugs take the act, advancing on your group. The thin one gives the burly one a light shove, shaking his head, making a jingling sound with his heavy accessories and putting the tip of his own bat right in the face of the one who had made the approach.

‘Talking.’ He says, simply. ‘No blood.’

The two of them back down immediately, but not before giving you a look.

‘All right, Hoss.’ The raises his hands, backing off. ‘All right. Boss could use a little sunshine, anyway.’ He gives the thin thug a look – a reluctant nod. ‘You be beggin’ we got to ya before he did, you be.’

The posse forms a circle, and you walk deeper into the familiar plaza, Takao two steps behind you and your three protectors bringing up the rear. The buildings are cracked and ruined, but still standing. Around the ruins you see several people, dressed in worn and torn clothes and leather, giving you dirty looks. The MPs had been right – they probably did prefer being around these folks more than they did the Admiralty, if the initial reaction was anything.

You walk for a while and end up in front of a shopping complex that looked still intact – mostly. You enter to see several more thugs, with chains and bats and one with a chainsaw on your level of the complex. They’re all big, intimidating and dangerous – even the ones your size sported some sort of makeshift weaponry.

The complex itself is in better condition than you’d give it credit for, but not something you’d pass for safe. There are broken and leaking pipes everywhere, and some kiosks were being manned by other gang members with an assortment of makeshift weaponry from pipes, sticks and knives of the like. You hear a roar of laughter from an upper floor, ignoring it as you continue your walk – Takao immediately goes to your side, gesturing at you to lend your ear.

‘Sir, I don’t have a good feeling at all…’ She whispers into your ear as you walk towards an escalator.

‘It’s okay.’ You whisper back, assuring here. ‘I’m not feeling butterflies and breezes myself.’

‘There’s about a dozen on this floor alone.’ one of your MPs observe – you can hear the nervousness as he observes the mezzanine, and the shadows lurking at the other floors above. ‘Crapload more at the top, I reckon.’ He gestures with his head, making you try to get a better look.

Even from your angle, you can see that he’s right. There’s a large congregation at the top – you see even more of the gang members gathering to give you a better look, a lot of them pointing at you… you also see a lot of them making comical gestures and farcical motions of your gut. Some of them even raise their hands to their nose, flexing their fingers in a childish gesture of teasing.

Your group reaches the escalator, where you see two men with old hockey masks, badly-written words of whatever character they wanted painted in red on them. The thin thug mutters something to them – one of them laughs loudly, giving the man a light shove. He gives them a friendly pat in return, before turning to you and your group – no, his posse, whistling for them to depart.

One of them gives Takao a hard slap on her bottom – you recognize it as the dark and burly man from before, giving you a smirk for good measure as he walks away. One of the MPs raises a fist to him – you yourself hold a neutral gaze, whispering an apology to Takao, who shakes her head.

The thin man steps onto the escalator, and one of the hockey-wearing ones hits a switch on the side. It, surprisingly, moves. They gesture at you to follow, which you do with a nod – Takao this time right next to you. You see a fairy drop from her head to her shoulder, seemingly oblivious to the gravity of the situation, looking around in wonder.

As the escalator moves downward – deeper than you’d thought from before, your MPs bicker about something or other, but loud enough that you catch bites of their conversation.

‘Are we going down to the basement?’ One of them, who you recognize as the mustached one, hisses to another.

Lower Ground.’ You can’t tell who this one is.

‘Which is practically a basement – you know what’s hard about fighting in a basement? The number one thing is that you’re fighting in a basement!’

‘Calm down, folks.’ You give them a reassuring look – a mix of authority and intent, bunch of good it did. ‘It’s all routine. In and out, we’re just here to talk.’

The thin thug snorts – you reach the end of the escalator quickly, and it comes to a halt. You walk along the floor, the lone goon leading the way, and you notice the floor progressively getting cleaner as you do. You reach a restaurant – or what remained of one, anyway. This one was a family-oriented one, and the inside of it looked like it had gone through some manner of clean-up. There were lights, and…

There were guns.

There were four thugs with guns – middleweight weaponry, but still arms and what looked like plundered SWAT gear, seated in booths.

At the end of the opening lane, at a table, was a short, clean man in a tie-less suit… pushing away an empty bowl. He looks up at you, smiling.

‘Good evening, Officer.' He gestures to one of the thugs. 'Would you like a seat?'

>if [kanmusu] train their guns on humans… the fairies get really ugly and so does the Admiralty.
After going back and rereading things, it looks like I slightly misremembered what the big issues are with kanmasu - human conflicts.

The correct rule is that kanmusu must not use their guns against humans. They should not aim them at humans either.

‘Thank you.’ You fall into a bow, and he gives you a pleased smile as one of the armed men comes to you with a seat in hand, gesturing at you to drop yourself into it.

He reaches underneath the table, producing a large bottle of expensive, foreign beer and two glasses, saved for the occasion.

‘Drink? Wait, forgive me,’ he pats himself on the chest, looking very much apologetic. ‘I always forget that you’re military… not a drop on duty, not a drop.’ He chuckles, leaning back and opening a button on his shirt, eyeing up Takao with an appreciative eye. ‘Although, you may be drunk on something else already… I didn’t think the Admiralty would have such access to goods other than those… girls.’ He interlinks his fingers – you feel Takao fidget next to you, praying she wouldn’t rise to it. ‘You must be riding the high life, wouldn’t you say, Officer? Even for an errand boy such as yourself.’

‘It’s a big responsibility.’ You try your best – weird as it was, you find yourself reaching a lot into the past to get your mannerism correct. ‘I mean, it comes with p – perks, but do a good job and they’re willing to… give you a few… incentives, so to speak, Mr Boss, sir.’

‘Ah,’ he nods in understanding, leaning back in an almost nostalgic manner. ‘Money, women and power – the three eternal temptations of any man in this world. Have one and you crave the other two… have none and you might as well not live at all, am I right?’ He opens the bottle, pouring it into a shot glass. ‘You can shatter civilization as we know it and it always falls back to those, wouldn’t you agree?’

‘I don’t t – think that I’ve ever been in that position, myself.’ You chuckle; behind you, one of the two of the thugs give good chuckles at the word. ‘I – I just got the job… because I… because they needed someone like me, I guess.’

‘The world needs more people like you.’ He raises a glass – you’re not sure if it’s praise or insult; it could very well be both, even. ‘They need people who are willing to dirty themselves into the soil on their behalf… so that they can pretend that they’re the ones who actually went through the grime for them – the world needs people who can put aside their pride and be spat on, for the good of the great.’

He holds Takao’s hand as he walks around the table – the KanMusu stiffens as he takes it, but doesn’t fight, raising her hand to his lips, giving it a gentle kiss. Takao looks at you in conflict, but you don’t react – if there was a time for it, it was not now. You give her an apologetic look.

‘S – Sir, not – not that I’m… angry or annoyed, b – but my superior would really like for you sort out…’ You shrink – pretending to – under his stare, making him sneer. ‘I’m… I’m just the messenger, sir.’

He nods, curtly.

‘Sir, how did you get all this together.’ You cobble together. ‘This is off the record and I – I won’t tell a thing – !’

‘Officer, a word at a time, please.’ He interrupts, raising a finger – you keep quiet, mostly to keep him in his space, his air. He looks behind you at something, getting a brief pause, before going on. ‘It was much easier than expected… after all, I’ve been in this business for quite some time; you learn things – you learn what people want… what people fear; most of all you realize that they all flock to one end… survival.’ He pours another glass for himself, nodding at someone behind you. ‘Everyone flocks to the biggest, baddest, wolf in the pack.’ You hear footsteps approach – one of the armed thugs comes up next to you,

‘You’re ambitious, aren’t you?’ He smirks. ‘We’re more alike than you’d like to think. You hate this, don’t you? Being sent here, into this pit.’ He gestures to the whole restaurant ‘They probably sent you like a lamb for the lions… you could very well be bait and this could be a trap.’ He smirks at you. ‘But I don’t think it is… your Admiralty has a very strict policy when it comes to civilians, doesn’t it?’

He gives you a very rough poke on your forehead – it takes a lot of you not to drop into a frown.

O – Ow.’

‘How in the world did you come to rank at all, I wonder?’ He regards you with a look of disgust.

‘M – My friends were… friends of…’ You stutter, trying to sound as authentic as you can. ‘Well, I was… and they kind of…’

He glares at you, and you take it as the cue to keep quiet.

‘Oh, you’re one of those types.’ He gives Takao a look. ‘Such a waste.’

‘I mean, I got – I got recommended.’ You try to gather yourself, or rather look like it. You don’t know how well you pulled it off, but you’d been in this position in the past – timid, afraid and desperate. ‘I – I just wanted the perks, you know, but everyone kinda got killed – but here I am!’ You try to sound chipper – or try to try to sound chipper. ‘It ain’t so bad. I mean… better here than…’

‘Opportunity has always knocked for some… others take it. You… are one whose door was opened for him.’ He sneers at you ‘I loathe your type.’

‘H – H – Hey, now, I think that’s a little – !’

‘Twenty-seven years I crawled for them! Marched for them!’ He gestures to the ceiling, as though asking for judgment. ‘Twenty-seven years and what do they give me?! DISHONORABLE EXILE!’ He bangs onto the table, a faceful of fury a mere foot away from you ‘Do you understand you brown-nosing cretin, of your very nature?! Your very essence! It is an affront to the order o things!’ You reel back, surprised – for real, this time. ‘I was entitled to more dignity. I was their brother!’

He bares his fangs at you.

‘As you know, errand boy, things like this don’t happen overnight. They only open with opportunities.’ ‘I was cast aside by my brothers… after I brought them prosperity and honor, victory and strength! All they cared about was the silence of the night, the quiet flow of money and drink.’ He smashes the glass onto the floor, rounding on you. ‘This, errand boy. This was Hell to me. Amateurs, without drive, without ambition… but when the opportunity for release came…’

He raises himself, smiling and putting up his hands.

‘I’d already set up connections with the local gangs – small time, I have them under a quick and convenient alliance – and although they have no ambition… they have honor and respect to those that they know come before them – to me.’ ‘That is why I am the BOSS, errand boy. Because I recognize them as such – those without aim only needed to be pointed in the right direction to be of use – to be a part of the grand picture, and they do it willingly.’

The BOSS walks behind you, towards the armed men.

‘They fight side-by-side, to one end only – mine.’

The safeties click…

NO!’

And they unload upon your MPs, who scream and hit the floor – the bleeding and with holes in their legs and feet, crying out. Takao covers her mouth in horror, absolutely sickened by the sight. One of the men come to her, training a gun to her temple. The fairies on her head look at the sight interestedly, but otherwise do nothing, turning to each other as if to make sense of the sight.

‘Sit down… Commander.’ The BOSS snarls.

You grit your teeth, taking a seat. Your men writhe in agony, clutching their bleeding limbs – two of the armed men give them a good kick. The thin thug gives you a smirk, winking.

‘They won’t be harmed any more than they have.’ The BOSS raises his hand, waving to one of the armed men, who smirks. ‘Far be it for me to actually attract the full attention of your Admiralty.’ He flicks you in the forehead again. ‘You didn’t think I wouldn’t actually have eyes on you after your insult of my men this afternoon?’ He grins at you. ‘Or bullets in a disagreement?’

‘So you knew who I was.’ The situation had gone to Hell. You throw a glance to your men, then to Takao. You unbutton the top of your shirt, angry and barely there. ‘Why the farce?’

He crosses his arms, leaning on the table.

‘It’s polite to answer a question when asked… and you were so well-mannered, if a little… overdone.’ You turn purple at the barb, but don’t rise to it. As Takao had said before, the cards were in his hands. ‘Playing along is so much more fun.’

He approaches Takao, who doesn’t move as he touches her chin – sheturns away, but he forces her to look at him. There are tears in her eyes as his hands travel to her chest, softly squeezing on one breast. Takao shivers, unwilling to move.

‘Takao, it’s okay.’ You raise your prosthetic, gesturing at her to keep herself calm. Alien as she was to an assault of this nature, Takao’s distress was so much that she was reaching out to you. You feel a pulse grow through you, again – there are no flashes of Nachi or Shigure or the like, but there is a pulse. ‘We’re here to talk business, right? Then let’s talk.’

‘You should have quit while you were ahead, really.’ He smirks at you, giving Takao’s chest one last squeeze. She holds herself, shaking as the man sits back on the table, regarding you. ‘But I digress. To business, I suppose.’ He claps his hands together, almost happily; he seals the bottle of alcohol, linking his fingers together like a manager regarding an employee’s promotion.

Its rhythm is irregular, but under your control.

‘You want full control of this district.’ He jabs a finger at you, smiling. ‘I am willing to give it to you… not for free, of course.’ He laughs, running a hand through his hair, as though pondering – it’s an almost mocking gesture, but you keep your temper in check. ‘No, that’s a lie… I’m willing to share the district with you. Forgive my lack of – !’

‘Are you guys all right?’ You interrupt his play, sending a dirty look his way – he does the same; it gives you a little satisfaction, at least, to tear up his grandstanding.

‘We’re alive, sir.’ You hear a strong thwack, frowning as the smile of the man before you returns – one that you did not like one bit. ‘SHIT!’

‘I want protection, Mr Errand Boy.’ He says, nodding and raising his eyebrows. ‘The kind of protection that only your organization can afford to give me.’ He brings his hands together again. ‘As you know, the whole… province is under constant watch. I want a full convoy to assist in the transference of my influence from here to… another more financially-sound investment.’ He pats your hand like a friend continuously. ‘And with no hard feelings, I am willing to offer my continued cooperation as an official liaison of the Admiralty by handing you this district, this town, effectively… with my own men as your enforcers.’

‘You want passage inland.’ You snarl. ‘Scared your old friends go after you?’

That must have snapped something, because the next second there’s a gun barrel pointed to your temple.

‘Girl. Here.’

Takao walks towards the man, her hands balled into fists and her teeth bare. But she does walk to his side… pulling a strap on her dress down towards him.

The pulse grows.

‘So obedient… you’d think she was in love with you.’ He chuckles, bringing her ‘Or worse, one of those…’

And grows.

'So what will it be... Commander?'

Time seems to slow… and two people, so familiar, reach out to you. One with a glare… and the other with a nod.

If the military/police could do whatever, they would've already steamrolled the gangs by now. The fact of the matter is, he has control of the district, and we were supposed to negotiate with him for a reason, not just drive him out.

As you reach out to Nachi… you find a sudden clarity – no, a certain fire that had been ignited. It’s hard to describe proper, but you felt… wiser from it, but also less in control. Nachi’s gaze doesn’t turn any warmer as your fingers touch her palm, but she acknowledges you. There is a fury inside you that needed tempering, needed control and focus – a certain strength that you could draw form, dangerous and wild, but yours all the same. A certain resonance comes through you…

And you see Takao, turned away, on the side of the gang’s leader, whose expression has turned impatient.

‘Are you done?’ he brings his hands together – behind you, Takao looks at you quizically; she mouths a question, but you raise a hand to her, nodding.

‘Yeah, hang on, I – !’ You reach inside your pocket for a pen, fumbling for it as it falls onto the floor – you give Takao a look of apology, getting on all fours to to pick it up; the man who has his gun trained on you snickers as you go under the table to grab it.

You bump your head on the back of the table, apologizing.

‘Watch it, you oaf!’

The man laughs louder, and your ears here the rustle of a less-tightened hold on his trigger.

It’s all you need.

He doesn’t laugh when you grab the stand of the table with your prosthetic, lifting it up with what strength you could manage; the gun is raised towards you…

And as you rise, you know the man right behind you is yelling at him to not hit him.

The sickening crunch of ceramic, hardened plastic and steel against flesh and bone is almost music to you ears – you can hear Nachi’s whispers in your ear as several teeth go flying into the air with the blow. His cry is muffled by the lack of a working jaw, and it just feels great to let go of the pressure right there and then. The shuffle of feet tells you that the man behind you had used your attack as an opportunity to make a move, but his health isn’t priority.

Not yet.

It’s surreal – time seems to slow down; pain is in your joints as you know that the amount of tension that they seem to be under is almost like a vice that went in and out at the same time. But you can see everything – it flashes at you and you see the three men in your company have guns trained on them almost instantly.

Almost.

You send the table flying right into two of the men. Even with some gear on, it didn’t do much when someone with a metal arm capable of mean feats was throwing a few kilos smack dab into you. One man falls, the other two raise their attentions to you, and you suddenly feel the rush leave.

You stare down two barrels of middle-weight arms, curses flying into the air as you fall onto your knee.

Commander!’

Bullets fly.

They fly right into the ceiling as the MPs take the opportunity to take down to of the men. There’s some euphoria as all three of them fight their own pain, grappling the men in gear and slamming their faces with elbows and fists, crying out. You would’ve smiled if this was the time, but you can’t. Feeling pain in your joints, the pulse completely vanishes and the yells of those present make themselves known to you like a rush of the senses, almost making you vomit.

There is a click… and there’s blood.

You feel a searing pain from your back to your shoulder, gritting your teeth. Something had pierced your shoulder. Another shred of pain finds its way on your right leg, toppling you. You ears ring – you can’t hear a thing as you realize that now, a third… bullet… a third bullet pierces your other shoulder. Your men; you see your men grab the guns, yelling – whatever they’re yelling it’s… it’s about you, isn’t it?

You can’t stand anymore. There’s just too much… but something grabs you by the hair, roughly and angrily – it could have broken your neck… there’s a grip around it, too. Your nose feels stuffed and warm – it’s hard to breathe. You taste copper on your lips as you realize that…

You might be dying. Figures you’d last just a few days into a job that you finally had a hold on.

‘SIR!’ The MPs yell – more bullets fly. Whoever was doing it was holding the gun that did this to you.

They’re yelling something at each other, but you don’t know what; two more bullets had made its way out of the chamber; warning shots to keep the MPs from firing their own. The hot barrel of the revolver – yes, a revolver – presses against your cheek, threatening to rip into it if you fought back. It didn’t matter, anyway… right now you couldn’t fight against it. You’d just… You’re just…

You just can’t.

DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT WAS TO GET THOSE?!’ You finally make out the yell, finding yourself annoyed at how loud and near your ear it is. You’re heavy, of course… so it made sense for him to struggle.

YOU!’ Takao shrills – you hear footsteps – dozens among hundreds, all around you and curse yourself for your recklessness; your eyes, tired as they are, see a blue glow. She had summoned her armaments – you call out, or try to, to get her to stand down… that you weren’t worth the risk, the punishment. ‘IF YOU DON’T DROP HIM THE ONLY THING LEFT OF YOU WILL BE YOUR DAMNED BABY TEETH!’

You feel yourself slide in his arms and he grunts, cursing your weight as he shifts you into a more able position – you were his leverage; he was going to get himself out into that gathering outside… there was one, you could hear it, even if you were able… and there was nothing you could…

Your recklessness, your idiocy had doomed them all.

You see the thin punk, having escaped in all the chaos, leading the march. There’re dozens of them, more than anyone could take on, all of them built for violence.

‘K – KanMusu?!’ The face of the man holding you contorts into a snarl, pressing the gun harder into your cheek. ‘I know the rules! You can’t touch me; you won’t so much as fire.’

Takao’s features contort into a desperate glare, her summoned guns glowing with an orange light.

‘Look out there! Look! It’s over! This is mine. All of this. You’re nothing here… and you will continue to be nothing here. They’ll show you every single side of our little world.’ He whispers into your ear. ‘They are going to enjoy every damn inch of her, errand boy!’

And that’s when you make your move.

You go for his weapon, your finger right over the barrel as you look away. His reaction is reflexive, only slightly slower than yours – he pulls the trigger… and you finally answer the question on why human weaponry was useless against Kantai Steel.

It just is.

The weapon explodes in your grip, small shards of it scratch your face and the heat give off small burn marks – small instances of pain – your right eye doesn’t see much – the flash leaves you groggy and hot metal stings but you have enough in you… enough to finish the job you set out to do.

‘MY HAND!’ He cries out, dropping to his knees.

You can’t see out of your right eye… you may have been permanently blinded, but that’s of minor consequence now. The man clutches his broken and damaged right, pathetically flailing at you, kicking and slapping like a child refusing to be budged. His hits are sad and wasteful; his screams are eve more pitiful – he refuses to be treated this way, to be brought back down to where he belonged.

You push Takao away gently, smiling at her as you grabbed the flailing man by the collar – he was dropping names… not that it mattered. You gesture to your men, for Takao to tend to them… and outside, where the shocked crowd of masked and leather-bound crazies were gathered.

The wolf’s teeth are sharp on both sides.

The shards of glass crack under your boot with every step – you drag the screaming man to the exit and into the open atrium, where the crowd backs off from your bloodied form.

You give them a once over, tossing the man onto the floor like a ragdoll. He looks at you furiously, reaching for a switchblade in his suit. You don’t even drop into a stance; his fury, tainted, is the full force behind his blade.

That's why, you figure, it snaps by the third swipe.

In this circle, surrounded by his slaves… your hand is around his neck.

‘You their BOSS?’ You bring him to your face, growling. ‘So what does that make me?’

He gasps.

Say it.’

The crowd roars for blood.

But only one voice mattered.

BIG. BOSS.

Will it be possible to raise our relationship score with the other shipgirls, or has Kaga pretty much stolen the lead at this point?
>>
do the kanmusu feel our emotions through the quickening even if its not active?

like feedback if we have very strong emotions?

is it possible to get abyssmal units on our side?
>>
>>224719
Yes. Values are volatile, and while not strictly "numbered", certain prompts and acts have more value than the others.

>>224720
Carriers can, though rare, but they can sense when you enter it - and when the link isn't active. The others can't unless you enter the Stream through the RAY Interface and the Quickening happens there. Carriers are special - and thus, more volatile.

The feedback is a danger to both the KanMusu and the Commander if the occurrence is through the Interface and Stream (Carriers are exempted). KanMusu can go psycho two such cases have happened and berserk.

And No. Abyssals are strictly enemy units - they're a grudge, not physical/spiritual beings with manifestations. Think of them as parts of a hivemind. Princesses, of course, and Onis, are the exception.
>>
>>224711
I wager Kaga isn't that far ahead of a couple of shipgirls. And some of our others haven't had much time with the Commander yet to see how they feel about him.

The difference with both is that because it escalated (Your MPs were shot, after all) in any case, compared to you getting to the point like I said... the Admiralty isn't going to be happy with the chaos and rumors of a Commander gone rogue.

>>224734
It'd be like asking Hurricane Andrew to keep it down because you want to sip some ice tea. Maybe if you find Yuudachi you can ask her to help you "convince" it.

Please go back to one of the threads before and read my description on the role of Princesses in this Quest. It'd explain just how dangerous, deadly and inapproachable they are and how hard it is just to keep one away from mainland when a MOBILE type does act up.
>>
>>224755
IF we get one as our base, a big if, we will be much safer againts base attacks and might have a repair dock

still a big if
>>
>>224758
what princesses and onis are active/ have apeared so far?
>>
>>224763
In this quest, none.

In the 15 years of combat, there has never been a recorded kill of a Princess available to public knowledge. The only kill of a Princess was made under a special team of 6 KanMusu. The only dead Princess is Hoppo, killed by the destroyer Yuudachi after a grueling one-week operation. She was the only survivor of the operation.

It has almost always taken a joint-base operation to re-direct a Princess away from the coast. Most have been successful, some haven't.
>>
>>224760
i admit it is pretty much even less than a snowball's chance in hell

knowing our luck and how being commander is suffering and with our upgrade to punished commander, the idea of a mobile one appearing near us is not a snowballs chance in hell

that and the whole reason/motive to the attack on all areas in the beginning of the quest is still unknown aside from admiralty being overstretched and abysmals taking advantage of it

if they are a hivemind, then what made them do that attack in the first place?

I'd wager a super secret advanced prototype submarine or aircraft carrier as the base really, a new weapon that was designed to take the fight to the Abyssals, most of it already done before the Abyssal counter-offensive wiped out most of the shipgirls and the resources got diverted to reconstruction

Tactics. Admiralty got too deep into enemy territory without strengthening their outposts and were way too confident in their progress in re-taking the seas.

That was the whole reason you came to Yokosuka - they were getting way too cocky and advertising a march to victory. Before they could establish defenses out at sea, a few of the Princesses regrouped and launched the Counterattack. The assault is still on record as the closest any Princess has come to shore since First Contact.

I often wonder why shipgirls don't waterskate around chaotically in combat, but instead they keep to some kind of formation. It's only in the doujins where you see individual combat maneuvering and rollerblading-like moves (like skating up the side of a tall wave, flipping over in mid-air and unloading your weapons)

The doujins like to show off the cooler shit, while the official media often sticks to them being mecha musume for warships, and so they stick to actual naval formations and combat.

I remember the day I met Kaga. It was on an evening in the middle of winter… a year after my sister’s passing. I’d been promised a plot for her ashes… or what remained of her – a burnt lock of hair in a side Navy plot, just like the old soldiers did at the end of their days. They’d made me go through a lot of hoops… but it’d be heard… on that day. I knew it. I’m a KanMusu – being so far away from the sea was almost like flying – it felt strange, but it wasn’t hard – I was outside the appeals court of the Navy – the real navy of this nation.

I’d heard arguing.

There was a puffy-haired KanMusu in civilian gear, yelling at an older, admittedly well-kept man in an ISSF Reserve uniform. It was an odd sight, especially considering that this was a Navy office, and the man was definitely as far as you could get from the Navy. She yelled at him – they were mostly about things about how he had kept things from him – and he how he had never put more investment than in her than he would for a night to keep warm.

I found later than he was part of the ISSF delegation to the Navy for the request for a base for the Carriers – that woman was a Carrier. And I would meet with her later.

My appeal was turned down. I understood of course, there was the issue of money… which, for some reason cost more than I could afford normally, but after Kure, I was able to push it through to this stage. It had taken some scrunching and nights off from the Mamiya Delivery, but I’d done it… after several rejected forms, I’d believed that they’d finally agreed, but…

Because I wasn’t human. Because Atago wasn’t human. Because we weren’t part of their Navy.

Because we weren’t soldiers. Yes. It was… It was understandable.

The bus back to the Departmental Housing wouldn’t be here until dark, so I elected to stay in the hallway – the only place that was warm…

The office was about to close when I came face-to-face with that Carrier woman, her eyes puffy and her shoulders shaking, taking a seat next to me. I was defensive… possessive – after all, didn’t Carriers think they were better than us? That they were so grounded to this world, so attuned that they might as well have passed for human? I’d met a few – and they were always caught in themselves… they were always strange.

So I ignored her. Then an hour passed, and another… and another.

Then she points out to a man walking out of the office, smiling, with a bunch of other suits.

And she grabs me and demands that I… reveal myself… with a smirk to the gentlemen. I didn’t think about it much, but… if it would have got her to shut up, I would do it.

There’s no law against it, after all. So, I did.

‘HUMAN ENOUGH, YOU TWO-FACED HORNDOG?!’

The congregation sputters, demanding answers from the man. I felt embarrassed. I was acting like Atago.

We blitz it out of there, into the snow, laughing.

And that’s how I met my best friend.

>>
what year is the quest occurring in? from what i've read it seems to be 1950s or early 1960s
>>
>>227171
Considering the tech level stopped at the 50s/60s level, and it's been 15 years since then, I'd put the date anywhere between 1975 and 1984.

There's no in-universe dare. This isn't Japan nor is it our Earth. It's closer to Strangereal than Earth. Nations may have similar cultures, but the amalgamation of cultures and the history of War on this planet is different. One of the reasons this world is so full of jerks is that global war was a thing for centuries.

Not to mention the whole geography. Their date is irrelevant.

They'd only latched onto tentative peace 40 years prior to First Contact.
>>
>>227797
>It's closer to Strangereal than Earth
Aigaion Princess when?
>>
>>227797
So just to be clear, we're not technically in Japan, just a country that's Japan for all intents and purposes, with "coincidentally" similar names to real life places. And there are also equivalents for Britain, America, Germany, etc.

So, functionally speaking, we should still treat it like Earth, but be aware that this is NOT Earth?
>>
>>228491
Maybe you can just think of it as being Warship purgatory that is being invaded by Warship hell.

In this world:
>The equivalent of the American Revolution last 50-or-so years It was supposed to end after 20-or-so but 4 years after the Civil War occurred - at which Not!Britain decided to use the chaos to re-take their "affiliate company". This war also heralded the first use of biological weaponry as a weaponized plague was deployed, killing millions upon millions.

>Not!America is quite isolationist, but may be the most advanced nation on Earth prior to First Contact.

>Not!China and Not!Middle-East became a Soviet-Bloc-esque coalition of many smaller nations - they're very land-locked and very isolationist under a Senate - they have been so for close to 300 years and have had two civil wars that lasted a combined 30-odd years.

>Not!Japan is/was the Switzerland of this world, acting as a hub for trade and commerce and peace talks, alongside Not!Germany and Not!Mediterranean states prior to the attack. Not!Japan used to be a puppet state of the China-ME Bloc but because of the distance and logistics, gave the country its independence - learning from the Not!Britain/Not!America War. Not!Japan was attempted to be re-taken 80 years ago under a rogue government of the coalition, which heralded the rise of naval warfare. Not!Japan won due to its alliance with Not!Germany - Not!Mediterranean states.

>Not!Africa is warlord's dream. There is no one nation - the geography is constantly shifting after thousands of years of warfare that hasn't ceased. They are the only continent that the League of Nations, when it was still potent, told to GTFO. Not!Britain tried to take it over once because of its abundance in resources. It failed spectacularly. T-shirts saying "I tried" with Not!Britain soldier's faces on them were a cultural icon before the war. It continues to today with the war of the Abyssals.

>Most of the Not!South American nations were scientific marvels and pioneered aerospace engineering alongside Not!North America. There are factions who blame the both of them for waking up the Grudge of the Sea - space flight was considered heresy for some.

>World population is at 2 billion-ish, maybe slightly less, prior to the First Contact. It is unknown right now.

>World Wars 1 and 2 never happened because everyone was so at each other's throats "World War" was almost a joke - "You mean we are not"?

>>228931
OOC: It's warship reincarnation.
>>
>>229021
Fascinating. How did they manage to achieve peace before first-contact?
>>
>>229021
Will we ever be able to witness the summoning of a KanMusu?
>>
>>229120
You damn right you will. Depending on which country you re-establish contact with.

>>229119
40 years prior to First Contact, Not!Japan's Navy R and D was privately contracted by some Not!African Warlords to engineer a deterrent in the name of "peace" in order to restore order to the chaotic continent. It was, essentially, the T-Virus. Casualties were under a few million, the chaos was so much more far-reaching... the Warlords launched it the moment they got their hands on it.

Not!Japan took full responsibility and the world called a ceasefire to keep deadlier, more far-reaching precise weaponry from being further developed which were the Nukes.

The Not!China-ME Bloc agreed to be a sort of watchdog for anyone accelerating the arms race the the Not!US thrived in its new agriculture and tech-based economy outside of warfare.

Mankind celebrated (Except for Not!Africa) the launch of its first few satellites the few years before the war, and its first couple manned rocket launches a few years prior to First Contact.
>>
>>229166
>Not!Japan took full responsibility and the world called a ceasefire to keep deadlier, more far-reaching precise weaponry from being further developed
Was this when the League of Nations/United Nations was formed?
>>
>>229294
League of Nations was proposed 4 years prior and was formed fully 3 years prior. It was just supposed to be a neutral ground of commerce. As you can see, it's a lot more active than our UN... or, at least it was until First Contact.

The Not!African Crisis was what turned it into a ground for peace and talks. It's rather quaint that because there are so few members - just above 60, that it's more effective. They also used to follow up on their threats prior to First Contact.
>>
>>229311
Since I'm a /k/ommando, I was wondering, would artillery shells with Kantai steel cores be at all effective against Abyssals? And if so, is there even enough of it to use in projectiles?
>>
>>229324
Shells aren't shells. Think of them as holy crosses used to exorcise demons that can only be wielded by Angels - in this case, the holy fire to the KanMusus. They're made from the Fairy's Blessing and if a human were to fire it - the impurity of the intent would make it the same as a typical gun round/shell against an Abyssal.

It's how fairy magic works.

They've tried it before. It ended in spectacular failure.
>>
>>229340
That must've been quite unfortunate for the people testing it.

Newly summoned girls have to be terribly confused about this new world, and all IJN girls have probably been confused as to how their nation had never become Imperial Japan.

>Spoiler
Not sure whether I want to OPEN THE COUNTRY or give Kriegsmarine girls the spotlight for once
>>
>>229387
They don't have a Government, so to speak, but they have a religion that revolves around certain tenets that they follow that are based around Alchemy, Magic, Spirituality and Technology. The delegation is just there to make sure the Shipgirls are maintained and behave.

>>229394
Not!Japan itself is culturally diverse. There's a mix of almost every culture in this world - it was the hub of commerce at one point. A significant portion of its denizens can even trace their bloodlines to other countries.
>>
>>229413
Did Not!Japan have a similar navy to the IJN? Because I'm seeing them get REALLY confused when something like the Yamatos showed up.

Or Not!US going 'where did all these destroyers/carriers come from?!'
>>
>>229427
They did. 95 percent of the world's standing Navies/Air Force have been wiped out. 4 years of attrition would do that to you.
>>
>>229021
What about Not!Australia? Did they ded?
>>
>>230155
Not!Australia as a continent doesn't exist on this planet. In addition, neither does Not!Russia as it's essentially part of the ME-China Bloc. Geographically, Not!Japan is still connected to China - making it more like a Taiwan-Hong Kong-esque state in comparison to what Japan is now. The Middle-East is a lot further up north than it would be in our world, Africa looks like South America and Not!USA looks like a sideways China/Russia.

Not!South America LOOKS like Australia but is connected to Not!US. Not!US itself is actually three countries forming a bloc with a few minor borders nations southwards.

Not!Africa's full status is unknown 5 years into first contact. Only thing for sure is that they don't have any geopolitical borders save The Canal, which keeps them out of the Russo-Chinese-MiddleEastern Bloc.

Also, despite being a huge war-torn world, there aren't many refugees from Not!Africa. They're a culture built and raised on war. They just can't navigate ships for shit. But they do have the best soldiers in general. 2k+ years of warfare and changing borders does that to you.

>>230430
Will our party ever get to meet someone from Not!Africa?
>>
>>231235
No. It's irrelevant to the story and I will not be exploring the continent because it'd distract from warfare with the Abyssals. We might get updates on the continent from time-to-time, but going there or meeting someone from there, no.
>>
>>230444
Are you implying that Not!Britain backstabbed their own monarchy, the remnants which fled to America, founded their own state, and joined Not!US in spite?
That's my best guess anyways, I'm not sure what to make of that spoilered sidenote. It is tantalizingly incongruous with the rest of your post.
>>
>>231681
No, but that

-Not!US was supposed to be Not!Britain's expansion plan. A member of the royalty was sent there to establish their branch of the monarchy.
-A succession crisis occurs and Not!US's royals went against Not!Britain's royals. Conflict goes on for 20-ish years before Not!US and Not!Britain decided it wasn't worth it after the standing ruler passes on and makes amends.
-Civil War in the Not!US breaks out between the first oilers and traders against the Monarchy. Not!Britain sides with the oilers and traders, they both engineer the world's first biological weapon, killing millions. Not!US splits into three, the northern, western and the eastern. The Monarchs rule the East, the West becomes a Republic and the North is governed by the ancestors of the current Shamans, who established contact with the Fairies.
-About 100 years prior to story, Not!Britain's Monarchy is stripped in its own Civil War and a Senate and Republic is established instead. It's a "meet the new boss same as the old boss" scenario. Despite their "superior tactics", the Warlords pushed them back in an almost humiliating fashion.

>>
>>232623
We'll find out next Thread. At this rate, the hiatus might only be for a few days or even over in half a day.
>>
>>232651
Fair enough.
I'm really, really worried though.
>>
>>229340
Are the restrictions placed on kanmusu use of force something done unilaterally by the fairies, at the request of the Admiralty, or a mix of both?

Do they apply to all weaponry or exclusively to weapons made from the Fairy's Blessing?
>>
>>233627
This is definitely something worth knowing. Because if we can arm out KanMusu with machine guns...

We're absolutely arming them with machine guns.
>>
>>233645
Machine guns? No I think that would be a bit too aggressive a posture for it to pass muster (not to mention, they are horribly bulky). It would indicate that we are equipping them with the intention of having them fight humans.

Not only would that play to alot of people's fears, it would almost certainty go against the spirit of their duty. A concealable side arm to be used in situations like the one we were just in on the other hand... That might be palatable.
>>
>>233658
I know. I'm just being silly.
>>
>>233658
KanMusu are supposedly equipped with about half a dozen or more machinegun nests when they wear their combat equipment. Mounted across their body in different places.
>>
>>233678
And these are, of course, not to size and made entirely from the Fairy's Blessing. They dissapear when a kanmusu unequips her outfit.

If we do end up giving them a weapon, that weapon should not follow the same rules. If it does then we'd need to make very sure that it is still a human made weapon and that it hasn't been converted into to fairy weaponry.
>>
>>233712
I had an interesting idea about what sidearms the shipgirls would carry, based on their personalities.

Tenryuu: Something flashy and impractical, like a chrome-plated Desert Eagle

Nachi: H&K USP, since she's former special forces. Or maybe a custom M1911A1.

Nagato: Something excessively utilitarian, probably a Glock.

Kaga: Also a Glock, though for different reasons.

Houshou: Probably a snub-nosed revolver in .38 special. Old-school.

Takao: Walther PPK. Some of our James Bond rubbed off on her.

Shigure: Tokarev, because a loose cannon would obviously carry a loose cannon.

Murakumo: Probably a Hi-point.

Samidare: The team daughter does not carry a firearm.

I had way too much fun with this.
>>
>>233771
Tenryuu is full chuuni. She would insist on using her sword or a sword if it can't be part of her outfit.
