This is the continuation of a written quest.

>Your tribe was massacred by raiders. Only a few of you managed to escape with your lives.
>Since then you gathered more people and came to settle in a new land.
>Over a year has passed, with great strides made and a respectable amount of progress.
>Now you are in a position where you pay regular tribute to a larger tribe for protection, regularly trade with the other nearby small tribes when you can, and seem to have attracted the attention of raiders.
>All the while you continue to advance, and deal with such problems as tribal demographics, religious quandarys, and keeping secrets.

Knowing all this, how do you proceed?

>Continued with relevant information.
>>
In total your tribe is 16 people of various groups and backgrounds, living out of a wooden fort built around a cave, near the edge of a large lake in the middle of a forested region. You have the beginnings of some crops as well as a number of domesticated animals. Because of everyone being busy and good organizational skills, the tribe is well stocked and has many provisions. This helps for when every two weeks, a group from a larger nearby tribe comes for tribute with the promise of protection.

A couple months ago you ambushed and killed most of one of their tribute parties, imprisoned the rest, though you were able to pass it off more or less as the work of evil spirits. Moving forward now, it seems you ran afoul of some raiders coming to the region.

Will be continuing play from the previous thread where it left off, will back link for clarity.

>Also for anyone in the previous thread, if you care to link any other pertinent info or statistics, that would be greatly appreciated.
>>
I have redone the population statistics.

Population total = 16
>>183735
Hey it's me, the numbers guy who apologises for slight inaccuracies. Caused by me accounting for a child twice.

Now to the stats;

Culture percentages; (Enslaved populations are treated as a separate culture)

Original tribe = 37.5 %
Lumpar tribe = 12.5 %
Enslaved Lumpar tribe = 18.75 %
Nomad tribe = 25.0 %
Enslaved Raider tribe = 6.25 %

Next gender (Including children/babies) percentage male = 37.5 % male

Percentage enslaved = 25 % (3/4 of whom are Lumpar)

I'll vote in a separate post
>>
>>183735
As to my vote, continue training for war with any raiders.

I want Apra and Vegita to take our enslaved population, except the Raider, and use them to cut down trees, make rope, produce clay goods, preform general labour on the farms, animals and our housing as needed.

Pipin and the shaman can just work on bonding and animals cause they are too important for manual labour for now.

The nomads and Uru are to just produce anything they can of value. Assuming they have free time consuming the goods the slaves have gathered.

Illeo can go hunting and fishing, followed by going trading with the other tribes.

Also where are our horses? If she can get them then remember to bring payment.
>>
Two weeks pass, and with it comes a grand celebration partially as an anniversary of the tribe settling the cave, partially to celebrate their progress. Food and drink are given and taken, song and dance and music occurs, and tales are told and stories spun. One of the highlights of the celebration is the fetching of a pair of horses obtained from the purple tribe through trade. Vegita's prisoner in particular is ecstatic by this, and the first time anyone has seen her smile since ever.

Only slightly marred by this experience is the bi-monthly tribute to the Lumpur tribe a couple days later.

---

>>182440
After the celebrations, the group returns to their duties a couple days later. One priority is for the tribe to develop its own written language. This will take a good amount of time though, and will take the inputs of several of the tribe members.

Illeo whom had been suffering nightmares goes to Rick about it, hoping to be helped without bringing up or returning the ring (can be completed after the current state of events). Meanwhile Pipin and Rowena spend time together and bond more, the both of them more and more convinced they want to marry.

Some of the group take the prisoners to focus on some important duties like improving the crops, trying to make boats and tending to general goods. Others of the group work with leather, if particular note to make shoes for everyone. The nomads and Faun in the meantime work on the system of writing, until the nomads take to some of the cleared land outside the fort to organize themselves.

Cont.
>>
>>183848
An obvious background focus is to train for combat. When the area outside the fort is cleared, the imprisoned women are directed after to more common duties like cutting wood, making clay goods, and tending the animals as such.

Pipin and Rowena while spending time together, also work with the wolves, looking to breed another litter to serve as tribute to the Lumpur. Rowena also relates stories to him and gives shamanic wisdom which captures Pipin's attention.

The nomads in their time do what they do best and work with textiles when not working on the writing system, Uru as well helping with craft works. Together they'll make a lot of goods for trade.

Lastly as usual Illeo hunts and sees if she can try to catch animals. The horses were already gotten for the anniversary celebration.

Cont.
>>
>>183911
When the two weeks approach and end, Illeo catches sight of the raiders a few times in the forest. It looks like they followed the river the group took and came all the way to the lake. They haven't attacked yet, but currently seem to have set up small camp in the forest a ways outside the fort, in preparation.

>What do? There are 10 of the raiders strong, all seemingly armed.
>>
>>183928
I say we prepare our fort for some new slaves!

Firstly, continue to improve our bows (and arrows) making sure there are enough for everyone except the slaves.

Next tell Vegita's prisoner that if she wants she can care for the horses and assist us in using them. However she will still be our captive.

Prepare to move everything inside the fort at a moments notice and generally get ready to need to run.

Also modernise our defences, expand them outwards even, tell the Lumpar that we are threatened and get them to head here to assist.

Lastly make efforts to conceal both our numbers and us going for assistance, in order to entice them into attacking us.
>>
>>184007
This sounds like a plan.
>>
>>184007
Tie the chicks legs so she can't swing them over a horses back
>>
>>184007

You don't have much time to prepare, but are able to make enough new feathered arrows for one person to use.

Vegita has the idea to let loose the prisoner with the idea of letting her use a horse, but he is pretty sure she'd just ride off with it immediately and they wouldn't be able to catch her. Without giving into her demands, you have no way of ensuring her trust. He is at least willing to untie and give her a weapon though if the need arises.

While most of the tribe busy themselves with the defenses, Apra goes to tell the Lumpur that you are in danger from raiders, They say they can send over 5 people to help.

This all occurs over several days though, and on day before the last the raiders attack. The group is able to pull back to the fort and attempt to defend it, and do so well, but the raiders are proper warriors. There are no deaths, but after some time spent fighting there are two casualties on their side and four on yours, as well as the wall being weakened. After the attack they return to their camp at the forest edge for the night.

Tomorrow you count on the backup from the Lumpur arriving as according to Apra when she arrives. What do?
>>
>>184114
If we are to be receiving assistance we should sally forth from the walls and take the fight to the bandits.

However I feel we should take advantage of the situation, tell me does the bandit camp lie below any hills we could access? If so coat a few in fire resin and send them striking down into their camp before our attack.

Another idea strikes me to have one of our people ride by on horseback throwing pots of the stuff at them but none of us know how to ride except that one slave whom will inevitably take off with our expensive horse.

In any case meet up with the Lumparian reinforcements. Attempt to bring field fortifications with us, to set up a slightly stronger position to defend/attack from.

Sadly I must now sleep so I can't assist any further, best of luck and may we not die!
>>
>>184176
Firstly: dig a trench 4 foot deep in front of our wall, then pointing away from the wall sharp spikes to stop in horse charges.
Secondly:Make trap and litter them thought out the Forrest.
Thridly:Make some scarecrows in the middle of all the traps while we have like 2 people outside of the fort with poison blow darts and como.
>>
>>184222
Other then that have some fire pots ready, medicine for field use and a set of leather armor, leather shield and a war ax or spear or club of some kind.
>Also have the nomad people map the area around the fort so we know the land better then raiders so if we can get them to route to the lake, we'll get the most slaves.
>>
>>184222
Most of these things can't be done in one night, but the forest is already littered with traps, it actually killed two of the raiders previously Illeo noticed.

More simply though, the group collects fire pots for a first time use in the coming fight, and everyone already has good quality leather armor, leather shields and decent stone tipped weapons.

>>184176
Their camp is on pretty even grounds in the forest, terrain doesn't start to change much until you go out into the foothills beyond the fort, or the cliffs far to the south.

Either way, the next morning you meet up with the group of 5 sent by the Lumpur including one of their top warriors. On the way you bring some mobile wooden barricades. After working out a simple strategy, together your larger group approaches the forest from the lake side, and makes their way through the woods.

You from Pipin scouting, you can notice the raiders already awake and preparing for another assault on the fort. The Lumpur want to rush in and attack, with your help of course, hoping to catch the raiders off guard.

>How do you proceed for the battle?
>>
>>184258
Let them charge first, call their great warrior out about proving his skills or some shit, try to display the minimum amount of martial skill required to live, they can't know how good we really are.
>>
>>184328

Are you looking to turn on the Lumpur if the chance arises like after the fighting, or just let them suffer the worst in the battle?
>>
>>184349
I think that should be voted on by the players as a whole

My vote is to turn on them If the chance arises with very favorable odds
>>
>>184349
I wasn't here but rush in with them but be the second line, only support really.
>Block hits and jab them enemy if you see a opening try to hold of the t Lumpur start to die.
>But staying alive is too priority, if shit goes south quickly I say every run away together. Back to the fort.
>>
>>184349
Let, them take the brunt, we want the chief, there can be less bloodshed if we can take him out. i generally don't want to explain why none of they warriors came back, and presumably all of ours did. We can try and favor the weakest guy to come back alive, hopefully injured.

Shoot and throw spears from afar , and let the Lumpur rush in after we hit them with a volley, then charge after them.

Have Pipin and his wolves and one other person sneak around the camp and attack from behind while we have their attention to the front.
>>
>>185044
Not sure we want to show off our fire pot weapons, They may just raise the tribute amount if we show that we are doing too well.
>>
>>185051
>>184239
linked myself.
>>
>>184349
turn on them after the raiders are dealt with
>>
>>184349
Don't throw them under the bus so to speak but if one of our people has a chance to not get hurt or to assist the Lumpur then they should perform risk assessment leaning towards themselves.
>>
The group decides to restrain themselves in the fight and see how things go.

Approaching with the Lumpur, you let loose a volley of spears from behind the wooden barricades, and then make room for them to charge in. Pipin meanwhile circles around with some wolves and attacks from behind.

The fighting is intense mostly from what you see, and your group makes good work of their ranged skills with minimal mistakes. When the struggle clears, two of the Lumpur are dead and two injured while the warrior guy in charge is tired but more or less fine. Of the raiders, six are dead with two injured and subdued from this fight and then the two from the previous day's fight.

Your group is five strong and three wolves (1 of each was injured).

>What do after the combat, and moving forward?
>>
>>185519
Raid the camp for anything of worth, burn the rest.

Couldn't post this part last night for some reason:
Alternatively, We could kill everyone, raiders first then the Lumpur tribe, the run to the Lumpur tribe and then send Apra to the tribe to warn them we lost the battle and most of our warriors are dead, Including 3 of ours.

Might scare them into might leaving if we claim there are more of them coming. They were the ones who wiped out Uru, Illeo, and Pipins tribe and they sent 10 more guys during the battle and "cut most of us down". Tell them they went back to gather more men to raid the entire area around the lake, and that they eat The Devil Fruit from the island to turn them into cannibals that eat the body of the slain.
>>
>>185519
Firstly, the Lumpur, offer them medical assistance and a gift for coming to our assistance at such great cost. Give them a bunch of the good stuff and add a bunch of stuff for the families of the dead Lumpur.

Ask them if they want to take any of these raiders as slaves and if they say yes, let them have the lions share. As these will be unruly slaves, at least for sometime.

If they don't however, take all four of them, we will keep one for ourselves and will sell three of them to the purple tribe.

As to our general actions, repair the fort, heal the wounded, cut down trees, create more farms and generally continue life as normal
>>
>>185832
>giving them more stuff
man u really like being their bottom boy.
>>
So it looks like the idea is not to turn on the Lumpur, and instead thank and help them for their assistance. Rather than risk them coming into the camp though and finding out about the prisoners, you decide to treat them outside. After patching them up and allowing them to rest for a couple days, you also give them a large parting gift for their help and those who died.

Eventually the topic comes to the raiders, of which 4 remain subdued, two men and two women. Their goods by your standards are nothing to write home about but to the Lumpur it's an impressive haul of things they aren't used to like leather armor and stone weapons. You let them have all of the raiders' supplies which they appreciate, and as such let you figure out what to do with the prisoners. They let you know that any they are given, they'll be taking back to their village to kill in a victory ceremony, to give some revenge to the families who lost members in the fight.

So do you take any of the prisoners? Aside of that, the Lumpur accept to stay one more night and after hiding the prisoners you even allow them to stay inside the fort as a goodwill gesture.

>What do for the coming weeks, aside of the basics listed here >>185832
>>
>>186087
They assisted us in combat, it is generally considered logical to reward such behaviour.

The gift to mourning families is to stop any resentment forming and to strengthen relations.

>>186094
Well, we will give them the injured pair of surviving raiders. Then we sell one of the uninjured ones to the purple tribe, assuming they want one. If not we keep them for hard labour.
>>
>>186194
Well all the raiders are injured. You remember though that the purple tribe are not really interested in female slaves unless they are of high quality.

Remembering this, does it influence your decision.
>>
>>186205
Give the most injured one to the Lumpur to kill, the rest shall be taken to the purples for trade.
>>
>>186232
Alright then, you keep the least injured raiders, a man and woman and let the Lumpur have the other two to kill. They thank you for the exchange, but say they won't be able to provide help for some time now since their numbers are reaching a point that isn't safe for them, and as well they expect more tribute as compensation. Still, it's a friendly exchange and they return. When you get the chance though, you hop on over to the purple tribe, to exchange the raiders. As expected they don't want the woman, but take the man in exchange for some goods they have on hand and also agree to your request for them to assist you with farming to which they send a couple to live with you for a month.

So you gain another female raider prisoner, and a temporary purple tribe couple.

For the following weeks, you focus on repairing the fort, getting everyone injured back on their feet, and general duties to make up for what was lost. And of course a special focus placed on the purple couple who go about teaching you proper farming.

>What do for the coming weeks? A reminder for some of the biggest unresolved problems from the previous thread
>The status of Pipin and Rowena's potential relationship
>The status of the prisoners, particularly if Rowena is going to learn about them and how
>The religious situation, and question about tribe governance
>Illeo's lack of sleep over nightmares
>>
>>186232
Oh whoops, didn't notice you said the most injured one, rather than ones. In that case you actually end up with two more raider women prisoners.
>>
>>186290
I feel our governance should be devised thus;

A tribal council, formed from the "best" of each walk of life as selected by voting (a simple "stand on this side of the room for this person" system will do). If any member of our tribe has problem, then they may bring it up with the council at one of the monthly meetings.

As to the status of Pipin's relationship with Rowena, make it a thing by our tribes beliefs. They should be married.

As to the status of the prisoners, Rowena won't be learning about them for a little while yet. Just to be safe.

Illeo's shit should be dealt with by Rick and Rowena. Deal with the ghost-ring or whatever it is.

Also continue to expand our fields, seeing as we are about to be able to make far greater use of them.
>>
>>186290
>>186294
Why didn't you wait for more people and more time to post?

I gtg to work.
>>
>>186290
For now, have the Apar with the slaves and the purple couple start clearing more farm land from more crops.
>if we don't have horse drawn plough devolpe one.

The Uru, Illeo, Rick and Pip should all talk to Rowena about the tribe and her becoming a member of our tribe, official resenting the Lumpur to marry Pip and stay with us forever.
>If she agrees, make pip tell her about the slaves, asking Rowena to speak to them trying to make life here easier for them.

After that, breeding animals like pigs and horses, clearing farm land along with trying to develop tools to expand the cave/fort.
>>
>>186318
>>186326
The group at the monthly meeting decides to come up with a tribal council where a few members represent the tribe in different ways.

With the raiders dealt with, Pipin and Rowena decide to marry. It is a nice ceremony everyone is happy for them and for the second marriage of the tribe. The celebrations are a nice way to get over the fighting with the raiders. Furthermore Pipin and Rowena share a special wedding eve where she makes a man out of him, and going forward their relationship is a very happy and loving one. For now though you decide to hold off for a little while, maybe a month before you let Rowena know the truth about the Lumpur prisoners.

As for Illeo's problem, you know for sure Rowena would want nothing to do with it, and Rick isn't aware of the ring. If the ring is believed to be the problem, Illeo will need to take care of it on her own, probably sneaking off one night so no one notices her gone or what she's doing. An order to do so, will make her

Lastly the fields are better organized, structured and expanded, such that you are starting to have something resembling farmland with plants growing. The purple couple also try to instruct on the use of a plow but aren't able to suggest something like a horse-drawn one since they themselves don't have the development of reigns or bridles for beasts of burden. Someone with horse skill would need to do that.

And as usual, general duties are followed, with plans to expand the fort to make room for an actual village.

>Coming weeks, what do? Actions and interactions for the tribe and it's members.

>>186323
Up until now the thread had been really dead, so I was looking to post frequently to keep at least the 1-2 people interested and occupied.
>>
>>186367
Can you list all of our people again?

The shaman and Pip should spend their time breeding animals like the wolves and horses.
>Also speaking to the 1st girl raider who was caught in the plain about how they used horses.
>Tell her if she will be good and just tend to the horses she could be free to walk around the fort with a guard.

The Faun and the nomads should start teaching people how to write as Well as trying to devolpe a calender and record keeping.
>What do we currently write on?

Have all other able bodies working on chopping down trees, clearing land and making wooden house outside of the fort.
>The fort will be our town hall/stronghold of we need it.

Other then that I would say make a trading part to the pink tribe north, say our settlement is grow fast and to the point of surpassing the Lumpur.
>Say if they come live out side of our fort wall we will be big enough to say no more tribute to Lumpur.
>And for the most part we will leave your people alone, excluding helping with some building and hunting here and there.
>But if they don't want to move, just trade for tons of cool shit.

Make Rick our official shamam.
>He will enforce and bring back plains gods.
Make Illeo our head Hunter.
>She will handle who leaves the fort, comes in and anything outside of the village.
Make Uru the head if free people.
>He will handle internal And civil matters.
And make Pip and Vegita head of slaves.
>It is there jobs to make Everyone new member and slave assimilate in to our culture.
Everyone has to speak plains speak and be able to read and write in Nomad by the end of 2 months.
>>

>>186433

>>
>>186413
Pipin and Rowena take it upon themselves to see to the animal husbandry with fair success, the original two wolves expecting another litter while another captured wild one will be paired with one of the grown female pups, same as one of the grown male pups and another caught wild female. You expect by winter to probably have upwards of 20 wolves, minus four of course for Rowena's dowry. The boars too, are expecting, on top of the usuals with the goats, chickens and rabbits which are increasing in quite large numbers to the point where you are killing some for meat.

The only one you run into a barrier with is the horses, as you don't know how to properly tend to the large animals. The plains raider woman knows but as usual tells you to eat shit unless you accept her demands, after which she'll take over the entire forest region apparently.

The nomads are still working on a written system, it will take more time. At the very least though, their method to your logic is pretty sound, using charcoal on linen wrapped around carved, straightened branches to make sort-of scrolls.

Tribal planning decides to use the fort as sort of a town center and stronghold, and so further buildings in the future will be built outside the walls. This may make them more vulnerable to attack, but it maintaining practice of everyone retreating to the fort in crisis will limit casualties, and also it will free up room in the fort for other uses of space like training grounds and maybe even an archery range in the future.

In making contact with the pinks, you learn more of the same that if you surpass the Lumpur, they'll just see you as the next Lumpur. Though they generally wish to be left alone, your efforts do attract the attention of some of the pinks, particularly the younger ones, who like the idea of being a part of something bigger than the Lumpur. That said, they are reluctant to actually make the distance and join you, while the Lumpur are still around. Partly out of fear, partly out of obligation. Aside of that though you try to establish an ongoing trading relationship with them to mixed success. Their isolationist style is slightly overcome by the appeal of your goods.

Otherwise, you set up the council for the tribe for now. It will take time but the efficiency and benefit to tribe culture and unity will show for it. However, expecting everyone to know plains speak and to be able to read and write Nomadic in two months is wishful thinking.
>>
>>186519
Fuck I wish the raider girl will just help us for fucks sake.
>Tell Rick, Leona and Rowena should come together to make a herb to basically make some very relaxed and cooperative for short bursts.

Uru and Vegita should try to teach the plains speak to the nomads and Lumpur people.
>Other then that, with Vegita leather skill and Uru crafting the two should be able to make a saddle of some kind.

Pip, Rick and Rowena, with the help of Apar and the slaves should build a plains church/temple.
>Make it in the cave in the the pink crescent room.
>Plains religion should be based about the presvation of human life, giving when we can and also a hidden part in in slaving the losers of war/battles.

And other tasks is have everyone start practicing plains speak when they can, when we trade try to get purple and pink to speak plains.
>Also ask if Rowena can get the one Lumpur slaves husband and daughter to come live with us.
>>
>>186519
Well, first off. I feel we should plan the potential expansion of our peoples buildings outside of the fort by creating a series of paths. We should also figure out the separation of various things into districts.

I would also like to suggest that there should be a distance between the fort and the rest of the settlement, so that any archers defending aren't effected by buildings blocking shots.

Next, I think everyone should attempt to create a "dock"/walkway for any boats. Also because it will allow for us to establish a shipyard-esque area.

After that I want us to work on making greater use of the horses and trying to break the plains raider through kindness and all that good shit.

I would like to suggest Illeo, Pipin and Vegita should gather as much food as we can for long term storage. Preferably we should gather a large amount of honey.

Which reminds me Pipin had an idea for a way to improve honey gathering but I can't remember what. Work on that as honey is a valuable resource.

Generally I want Uru, Faun and Apra attempt to produce trade goods, tools and processed resources.

Lastly I wish for all of our slaves, except the plains raider women, to be used to gather raw resources where possible, in addition to producing low skill objects like rope, clay things and such.

And here is the fort from a birds eye view. The big green hump is the hill, with the cave entrance being concealed by the longhouse. Adjacent to the longhouse are the garden and the livestock pens. Central are the various other smaller houses for groups of people and good storage, beyond that the wall of the fort, with inner towers and the gate building.
>>
Two weeks pass.

>>186597
Well, if you want her to cooperate you could always give her what she wants.

Rowena has skill in usage and production of psychedelics, the Lumpur used them for rituals. Together with the other herbalists, they are able to make sort of a concoction that at least relaxes/partially sedates a person, and though forcing them to be cooperative is not possible, they are at least fairly suggestible. However, it ruins their capability for complicated or rigorous tasks.

Uru and Vegita are on plains speak detail, Uru being very good with the nomads since he can speak nomad decently well. Along the way they also make some sort of leather seat apparatus for use on the horses, though they aren't sure of how to keep it remaining on the horse, or really how to use it since the plains raider woman rides bareback and steers horses with her legs rather than with reigns.

Separate of that, an important event occurs whereby Rowena is told the truth about the tribute party and the prisoners. She is shocked and a little disturbed at first, but eventually comes around with Pipin's persuasion and explaining. It seems she is starting to believe that your tribe is not only better than the Lumpur but may even deserve to overtake them given your progress. In the meanwhile she sees to the prisoners, and among them she feels Molah is fine to allow freedom to, having accepted your tribes way after the news of her fiancee. Leona and the other woman are not as trustworthy yet but Rowena feels in time she can help them to be.

Through the actions of Rick and Rowena, the makings of a church is made in the cave, where an altar and seating is established to the faith of the plains. It promotes strong tribal bonds while ensuring the will to dominate those it comes into conflict with.

Lastly, an ongoing general rule is becoming for the tribe to focus on using plains speak. Not everyone is totally accepting of it, but overtime you can ensure that it takes. That said, neither purple nor pink are at all interested in using it, preferring forest speak.

>Rowena also notes that she is not sure of Leona's husband, but can probably convince the daugther to come over for some time and realize the truth about her mother.

Through council meetings and group decisions, there begins to be an idea of creating more than just a walled fort. The largest help in this are the purple couple, who speak of their "city" filling the group's heads with ideas and offering advice on how to structure the makings of one.

The first order of business is to connect the most frequently used areas to the fort with lined paths. In this case, the farmland to the east, the shores of the lake to the west, and the forest clearing/nomad camp to the south.

There also comes to be ideas of building outside of the fort, things like houses so that the fort is mostly used only for times of crisis, community events, and religious practices. A location for where the settlement proper may be started is needed though. A frequent suggestion though is down at the waterfront, as close to the river as is possible.

To this end, efforts towards a pier are made, with a single dock being made of wood. In time, expansions can be made but it's a working place where the boats are at least tied up.

There is a growing want to make use of the horses, since the original tribe members remember how dangerous and effective the plains raiders were with even just a few horses. As usual though the raider woman is adamant about what she wants and laughs at your efforts to treat or appease her.

For longer term food storage, some sort of designated structure would be needed for it, since the usual storerooms are usually full, though they aren't that big to begin with. That said, Pipin gets help to work on his plan. By making some free standing small wooden platforms, in a painful but successful process, the group is able to move a beehive out of the forest and into the hills behind the fort, a ways from the farmland. In this way not only can the hive be more frequently and easily reached, but the bees will have better access to flowers and animals will have a harder time getting at the hive.

Everyone else, works productively on gathering resources and making goods appropriate to their skills. In time you may be able to develop the concept of a supply chain whereby some people gather the raw materials to be funneled back to the skilled workers, creating a constant output of high quality trade goods.

>What do for the coming weeks, most but not all of the original major concerns >>186290
have been dealt with.
>>
>>186804
First off, continue planing out our own city. Next, trade with the purples for additional horses, preferably another female or two. After that continue advancing our bows.

I would also like for us to begin producing a boat, as large as we can, designed to be far better than our current one in any way possible.

Lastly, I would like to suggest we pay the Lumpur a visit, delivering the dowry and trading. Maybe see if Coda and that one women's daughter want to visit.
>>
>>186804
Alright we are making amazing amounts of progress.

Well if the first raider girl won't help us unless we do what she wants, let's try to appeal to the 3 other raider girls.
>Get Apar. (who I think should be our official slave handler) to talk to them trying to make them happier here along with trying to sway the first.
>If she has troble get Rick or Rowena to help.
Would it be possible to seduce her?

Keep Uru and Vegita teaching people the plains speak as Well as learning nomad wiriting from Faun.
>The child should be brought up speaking plains and wiritng from a young age.

Send out the 2 nomad people north of the lake to explore and tell us of what's up there. Let them take what they need along with any slave they would like to bring.
>Tell them if they run in to any new tribe try to trade and set up a good relation.

Send Pip and Rowena to the pink tribe again, asking them to explore to the east and tell us what's out there.
>Sweeten the deal with trading food and breeding pair of chickens also trying to convince anyone to come with us back to our tribe.

Rick with the now free Leona should spend time with the purple couple for awhile, learning more about their city, what they have any really anything we don't know.
>After that take some tradable good and go back to the purple tribe, asking for more female horses and a prem stallion.
>Also Leona should be come a shaman/herbalist in training.
>>
>>187043
Shit not Leona, I mean Molah.

>>187026
Do you think we should start thinking about making a move for Lumpur again? I mean, with the shaman now. if we challenge the current chief to a dual and win, we can install her to power.
>Then we enforce plains speak and other shit on them as well having 2 towns under our control.
>>
>>187043
>Lesbianism again
Dude, that makes two fertile women effectively infertile, you gain a body, the the potential long term gains outweigh the single body, ESPECIALLY when the women are straight and resistant to actions that make them guy

Stop.
Just stop that.

It's OK looking short term, but the long-term effect is shooting our population in the foot
>>
Two weeks pass and at the end the purple couple return to their tribe.

>>187026
The nomads have an idea with the purples to plan for the city by using their developing form of writing, basically to plan out diagrams of locations and buildings, greatly helping to organize things.

Before the purples depart you also ask for more horses, which after all this progress you should be able to afford. Work also begins on a boat, and will be possible now that Molah is an accepting member of the tribe. It will take time though

There's also the idea of visiting the Lumpur but Rowena's dowry, the wolves haven't been born or trained yet. When the tribute comes though, you ask after Coda or Leona's daughter.

>>187043
The problem is the other two raider women aren't horse riders, they're forest raiders. The first one is a plains raider. Apra's actions fare somewhat decently with the forest raiders though as they don't really have some tribe to return to and don't seem to care all that much at you killing their friends if they are treated well. There is an idea maybe to reign the plains raider under control via a relationship, which she finds hilarious and asks what men among the tribe would suit her. Instead she expands on her demands that she'd find a partner herself if put in charge so no worries there, about your queen being without a king.

The ongoing plains speak initiative is starting to show in ways, with everyone at least trying to learn it.

Aside of that there's the idea to send out n exploratory expedition. This is possible but for simplicity sake, for now I'm going to say only one is possible. So decide who is going to go, which direction, and for how long?

Furthermore before they depart, Rick and Molah converse with the purples and try to learn more about the city. There's a lot of information to take in, but they learn of stone streets, waste disposal, and hints of masonry. These are things they hear though, rather than things they learn. The ideas can be developed on overtime though. They accompany the purple couple back and take stuff to trade, among other things requesting in particular for more horses, specifically breeding ones since the two you have, the male is a standard work horse while the female is an endurance/distance horse.

>>187114
To be fair it's not like much is going on in the way of relationships anyway. Or at least, in the terms of family-making, child-producing relationships.
>>
I am against using conflict to gain power in this case. For one simple reason; we are already surpassing them.

To explain what I mean consider our situation, in an incredibly small time we have far surpassed the Lumpar. Given one or two generations our sheer surplus of food, living space and resources will allow our population to explode out above their own.

At that point in time we can simply state that we won't pay tribute any more and they will have to accept it or face a far superior force.

Our objective should be currently to gather technology and resources, to plan for the future and to gather any remnants of our tribe we can (which is more or less done.).

However, if we come to conflict I have some ideas.
>>
>>187147
>>187083
somehow it didn't connect
>>
>>187114
I wanted Vegita to do, I wanted plains blood in a small raider body and I agree with you point that we need men with women.
I told everyone in the last thread, the only lesbian I want is Illeo, with someone outside of tribe to bring them in. She already can't have kids.

>>187199
Yeah that sounds like a solid plan.
>>
In the meantime while it's being decided who and where an expedition might go, Illeo finally decides to return the ring as she is barely getting any sleep now. One of the nights after a religious celebration, she sneaks out after having dug up the ring earlier in the day, and takes one of the boats over to the island while concealing a torch as best she can.

Landing and making it past the outer row of wild trees, she makes her way through the orchard to the disturbed burial mound. With torch in hand, and steeling her resolve, she steps inside to find... nothing! Like a massive weight lifted off her shoulders, she breathes easy to see the tomb is the same as they left it. Walking through, she laughs to herself, wondering why she was ever so afraid of anything in the first place. Stupid superstition getting to her, as she reaches the main chamber and places the ring by the wicker manikin, oddly noting the other jewelry missing from it. She does recall last time though she did kind of just dump it on the floor and leave. Finally feeling at ease she takes her leave from the tomb, though is unable to close the stone door. She tries but gives up, to head along the path back to the orchard.

When she reaches the pair of large standing stones however, she realizes she is not alone. Mistaking it for one of the bodies they had left, she sees a sitting figure stand up and move onto the path about fifty odd feet away. The torch doesn't cast a good light that far but she is pretty sure she's been noticed. Standing there, she begins to realize how silent it is, remembering back every time they'd been to the island the utter lack of animals or insects.

>What do?

>>187147
The only thin to keep in mind is that the tribe is not producing children and has gotten by on picking up new adults, some of which are temporary members. Meanwhile every the last time you saw the Lumpur, Pipin going over to get Rowena, they already had three new babies and at least another three women pregnant. You can overtake them in production and technology but their numerical superiority will only further and further overtake you.

As per the group's running strategy, at this point a fairly simple method would be to destroy and scatter the Lumpur, forcing a good number of them to join your tribe, and those imprisoned to accept it.

Not the best strategy, but it would more than double the group's size practically overnight.
>>
>>187336
How good was the Lumpur warrior on a 1-10 rating, how good is our average warrior on the same scale?
>>
>>187387
By your observation most of them were not that great, though the warrior was probably a solid 7-8. You know though, there only to be about 4 of them that good.

Compared to you, your average group member is a solid 7, some 8s, and apparently the plains raider is at least an 8 maybe 9, according to Vegita and her own claims. With a horse that's probably a solid 9.
>>
>>187336
I say back up to the door but don't leave, let this person approach but be ready to bolt at first notice.
>If it's nice: Befriend this stranger
> If it's mean/hostile:Run the Fuck away.

>After that.

I think the Nomad couple should officaly be married by Rick under plains religion. After that all 3 should spend time with Rick and Rowena teach them the written language to start keep records.
>Also do we have a number system/mathematical understanding?

Apar should take the slaves and start to build a dock house for storing boats, build boats and general river/water based devolpment.
>would it be easier to make a water wheel of wind mill?

Also start trying to get stone, start by using our axes but try to improve and better understand the art of mining and stone masonry.
>I didn't have anything to add, I just wanted to be consistent.

Also start telling people to start having children, like Pip and Rowena, Uru and Faun again, the Nomad couple.
>Vegita should try to get with a raider girl, primarily the 1st (how's Mary? Like bloody Mary.)
But if she's really against it go for the Forrest raider.
Also go to the purple and pink tribe trying to draw more men into our tribe.
>>
>>187435
Unsure of the intentions of the figure, Illeo backs up to return to the entrance of the burial mound. Along the way the figure approaches but maintains the same distance, until Illeo has to look behind her when she almost falls backwards into the tomb. Catching her balance and looking back, the figure is about ten feet away and clear to see in the light.

Tall, very tall, but slender. Wearing dark green clothes, and golden jewelry clear to see on their body. The head though is obscured beneath a hood, the face behind a featureless white wooden mask. Illeo has no idea who this is, and after overcoming a fearful feeling of being stuck in place, she decides she would very much like to leave this place.

Making a gamble, she moves a few paces forwards to which the figure moves a few paces back. Illeo begins to strafe around in a circular motion which the figure mimics till their places have almost been switched. With her back to the exterior of the island finally, Illeo takes a step back which is is met with a step forward, after which she bolts. Going as fast as she can and driven by fear, she makes it about as far as the treeline before she feels herself stopped short, a great strength having grabbed her arm. Finding to her horror the figure has caught up and wrapped its hand around her wrist, she screams in fright and struggles. To break free.

>What do?

Current turns are taking place in a small timescale so larger group actions are not possible yet.

>>187435
The nomad couple are already married by their own standard, and are not entirely too fond of the idea of being married by the plains standard. The rest though is possible, and yes the nomad writing system was number based with some very basic math for the purposes of trade, so that comes with trying to create a written language.

>water wheel or wind mill
Neither are really possible since you don't know about the wheel. Though where you are, a water wheel on the river would be better. A windmill is possible though farther out, up in the hills to the east of the cave.
>>
>>187496
Fight the masked creature. Drop and roll to either break the hold or knock the thing off it's base.
>>
>>187496

Beg forgiveness and struggle to break free
>>
>>187496
Try to calm down and speak to it, asking very politely and kindly to allow you to leave, apologize for taking the ring.
>>
>>187510
Illeo struggles and uses what combat experience she has. Turning back to shove the thing, she succeeds in causing it to stagger and tries to drop low to roll and break its grip. She succeeds in this and rolls free, though as she tries to get up again she feels its grip on her leg and is promptly lifted up by the ankle in the air by its hand so that she hangs upside down.

She continues to kick and struggle but as her fear increases, she tries to beg and plead and eventually even starts crying. At this, she feels herself lowered and placed on the ground. Sitting up she tries to crawl back away from it, but the figure kneels in front of her and grabs both of her wrists and pulls them out. She fears being drawn closer to it until she notices it placing hands in her own, interlocking fingers even, gently, carefully. By the light of the torch on the ground beside her she is fearful to take her gaze off the mask but lowers her eyes to her hands to see. Although much longer and more slender, they appear to be remarkably human-looking, though skin as pale as milk. For now though at least, she isn't being forcibly restrained.

>What do?
>>
>>187548

Ask who they are and if we can see their face
>>
>>187573
>>187545

Seeing as she doesn't seem about to be horribly killed, Illeo starts to calm down. She tries conversing with the Stranger but to no success. Either it doesn't understand her or doesn't want to respond, though when she speaks it does seem to look at her and cock its head in apparent confusion. She is met with the sound of speaking, some language she has never heard or imagined, so strange that it sounds almost like slow singing from a enchanting voice. As close as she is now, Illeo starts to get a better look at the figure in the dim light, and starts to notice what if she had to guess, would be feminine features. A slender figure with a wider waist, a protruding chest, and now the voice hearing it back sounds seemingly feminine.

Eventually the Stranger takes a seat in front of her in an odd manner such that Illeo is between it's legs. She tries to reach for the mask to perhaps see the face beneath, but before she gets the chance the Stranger reaches a hand for her waist. Illeo is a little confused until it starts to lift up her clothes. Shocked and embarrassed she tries to resist again however the stranger with one hand is able to withstand both of hers. Exposing her torso, the figure places its other hand on her chest and lowers along her body till it reaches her abdomen, specifically her lower belly. As it does, almost immediately it recoils and sounds to make an alarmed expression. Illeo takes the chance to cover herself again, and notices she has the chance to try to make a break for it again, figuring she can push the Stranger over as it is sitting around her and then jump up and run for the boat.

>What do?
>>
>>187670

Yeah no, get the fuck out of there. Take word back to our people so that we can take this information and do something with it. This sounds like something the shaman will have to deal with

Is Illeo the infertile one?
>>
>>187685

Illeo is infertile yes. She can guess the Stranger learned when it felt her belly, though she has no idea how.
>>
>>187700

Well she'll definitely have to be a part of the return trip to the island but right now her information is more important that the potential risk
>>
>>187700
Well hold on, maybe wait a second and see what it wanted.
>What if it's like a 100 year old such doctor who can bless us with perfect Arian children.
>>
>>187709
Eh if it will be there when we come back, do this.
>I just don't want this to be a one time event.
>>
>>187685
>>187773
>>187783
Well you have no way of knowing if it will be there if you return.

After recoiling in alarm, it appeared as though the Stranger was moving in to embrace Illeo, but she takes no chances. Lunging forward to push the Stranger, she causes her to topple over backwards with an exclamation of surprise, during which time Illeo jumps to her feet and continues running for the boat. She hears it seemingly call after her or perhaps just shout at her, but she doesn't dare stop or try to look back. Eventually she pushes her way through the wild trees and makes a running jump to her boat, causing it to drift away a little from the shore.

Taking the chance she looks back, but without the torch it's hard to make out anything. Giving her eyes a chance to adjust to the darkness though, she eventually does notice the Stranger standing there about ten feet away, one foot on the shore and one foot in the water in a stance as if she was leaning forward to grab something. Instead though she just draws back, planting both feet on the shore and simply standing there watching. Illeo takes this as her chance to escape, and paddle back to the fort to hide in her bedroll forever.

>What do?
>>
>>187813

Talk this over with the Shaman, see if we can get a better group to go back to the Island and establish contact
>>
>>187820
Illeo paddles back to the fort and ties up the boat. Too scared to do anything else, she sneaks back to her room and hides in her bedroll, falling asleep soundly for the first time in months despite her ordeal.

The next day she awakes though, and approaches Rick. Talking it over with him, she tries to be calm and sound lucid, but Rick merely dismisses it at as another nightmare and doesn't believe her, probably largely in part due to her never admitting about the ring she stole. Illeo attempts to convince him, but he starts to think she might be crazy.

Being treated like this, Illeo feels bad and starts to wonder if maybe she did just have a nightmare or imagine the whole thing.

>What do? I assume the turns will go back to normal, with the whole group in action?
>>
>>187813
Go home, grab the shaman and cunning woman, tell them about the ring and what happened, have them(or just the shaman if the woman doesn't think important enough to go to spoopy island over) and maybe someone else she really trusts (maybe faun can speak that language) come with her before it gets light out and the thing leaves
This thing is strong, she could've kill Illi she didn't, bringing weaponry that's more advanced than hunting tools would just piss it off
>>
>>187843
Who is the cunning woman?
>>
>>187847
Pips wife, lady shaman=cunning woman
Odds are she won't want to talk right?
>>
>>187852
You can try.

>Illeo attempts to discuss with Rowena about what happened.
>Unfortunately she doesn't make it beyond even mentioning the island before she is firmly rejected and says it shouldn't be talked about.

Well Illeo gets credit for the effort.
>>
>>187868

Well that turned out as expected, better talk to Rick
>>
>>187898
Rick was already talked to, here >>187841
>>
>>187868
I was voting talk to them both, spilling all the beans fully.
>>
>>187906
Well I can say if she tried it would basically have gone the same. The moment she got to mentioning the island, Rowena would have freaked out and left, and after telling it all Rick would have believed her to be crazy.
>>
>>187868
Talk to Uru about it, he is our (basically) leader and he might just check it out with her at least.

Tell Rick to start making more alcohol and to make it stronger!
>Is the wine addictive?

Send a trading party down to the purple tribe again, asking for tools to start collecting stone for "stone streets" and the like.
>Also if we know pottery do we know how to make mud bricks?

Faun, Pip and Apar should get together one day to try to find a way to make the saddle stay on.
>Faun made a thick blanket to put on the horses back so it would be okay with having the saddle on.
>Pip and Apar just make a stick with leather strips on it as make shift reins but very crude.

Other then that just building up the town with houses, storage huts, up grading the farm along

Also you know, keep enforcing plains culture, have Rick have everyone come to the temple once in awhile for plains religion.
>I still think everyone should learn Nomad writing and simple math along with plains speak, especially the child of Uru and Faun.
>>
>>187911
C-could we take someone can she trusts and go back then?
>>
>>187920
Frustrated, Illeo turns to Uru whom is doubtful about what she says, and to placate her says even if it is true that you all should just stay away then.

Pipin though oddly enough, hearing of Illeo's problem, gladly volunteers whenever she would like to go and check it out again.

>>187938
You could, sure, that next night?

>Will pick up at >>187920 after this.
>>
>>187945
I'm satisfied with your proposed turn
>>
>>187945

Sounds good to me
>>
>>187957
>>187961
Alright then. The next night Illeo and Pipin concoct a plan to head to the island, Pipin not entirely believing of her but just happy to go on an adventure.

When it gets late and most everyone goes to sleep, Illeo finds Pipin and together they head down to the dock and get a boat, then head on over to the island, having brought two torches this time.

They land and explore around for awhile, Pipin having fun and saying how spooky it is but Illeo with one thing on her mind. They eventually go to the burial mound again and even inside, still nothing. Outside again, Pipin tries to make it sound alright and says maybe some other time. While trying to console her though, Illeo notices it again. The Stranger, the same as far as she can tell, looking out from behind a standing stone.

>What do? Pipin hasn't noticed it yet, still talking.
>>
>>187975

Sush Pipin and perhaps kneel? Call out a hello
>>
>>188001
Pipin had been talking about how he probably scared off whatever the being was, but Illeo tells him to be quiet and kneels, indicating that they are not alone. Pipin jumps into a fighting stance and looks around till he notices the Stranger, promptly drops the torch and runs off screaming to the boat.

Hesitating a bit, Illeo calls out hello, and after a few moments the Stranger mimics her and says the same thing back as she approaches. When she gets close to Illeo though, she pets her head before sitting down again in that same odd way, where her legs are crossed around Illeo, before taking putting their hands together again.

>What do?
>>
>>188028

"Can you understand me?"

Also yell at Pipin to stop being a pussy and get over here
>>
>>188032
This
>>
>>188032
Illeo asks if she can understand her, which is met with the same expression of confusion, before she imitates her again and asks exactly the same thing. She seems intelligent but doesn't speak your language.

While trying to think of something else to say, the Stranger lets go of one of Illeo's hands and reaches out to stroke her hair and eventually touch her face, all of it done gently. During this, Illeo notices her ring on the Stranger's finger. She also says something in her language while touching Illeo that sounds caring, but the actual words are not understood.

Eventually Pipin does return, sneaking across the clearing with a stone axe held aloft and poised to strike, but Illeo without trying to alert the Stranger to his presence shakes her head and gets him to wait.
>>
>>188056

Just relax, start trying to teach our language. Start with introducing ourselves and then point to things around us and teach her their names
>>
>>188067
By now Illeo is very much at ease with the Stranger, and figures maybe to try and better communicate with her. She starts with introductions and gestures to herself speaking her name. The Stranger repeats it, before doing the same to herself and speaking "Maddemoena".

Pleased with the result, Illeo tries to teach her other words, such as hair, face, grass. She imitates the words before saying her own for them, you believe, and Illeo tries to imitate them as well. She must not be very good because the Stranger somewhat firmly taps against Illeo's chest with the back of her hand and repeats the word till Illeo can imitate it as best she can.

Pipin meanwhile tries to approach, but when he gets close enough to hear them talking, and hears the Stranger actually speaking their words, he gasps audibly. Immediately the Stranger looks around and in seeing him quickly stands up, grabbing Illeo and picking her up in the process so that she is holding her away from Pipin seemingly in protection like a child.

She is also heard to speak some angry sounding words and paces away from Pipin holding the weapon up, while carrying Illeo but always facing him though.

>What do?
>>
>>188093

Have Pipin put the weapon down on the grass, so far this Stranger has done nothing hostile and we don't want to be getting her angry
>>
>>188093
I got a strange feeling about this.
>Tell Pip to just stick up on fruit for now.
>Try to see the strangers face or find out the gender.
>>
>>188102
Illeo shouts out to Pipin to drop the weapon and act calm and not dangerous. After hesitating in fear he does so and drops to the ground, the Stranger observing him for a bit before quickly pacing over to him and kicking the weapon away with her foot. She sounds angry speaking to him and picks him up by the neck with a squeak, but Illeo pleads with her as best she could and trying to tell her no, which the Stranger takes notice of and eventually sets Pipin down slowly. Pacing back away from him though, Illeo jumps down to see if he is alright which is noticed as the Stranger lowers to take a seat again, carefully, intently watching.

Pipin expresses his fear and says they should leave this place as fast as they can, set it on fire if possible and never return. He's clearly as frightened and confused as Illeo was when she first encountered the being.

>What do?
>>
>>188129
Here with adding that Illeo and the stranger should move some where else.
>>188128
>>
>>188128
Illeo trying to reassure him has an idea and tells him to go get some of the peaches, while she'll try to calm the situation down. Approaching the Stranger she tries to maybe talk to her or even learn her identity, but "Madde" grabs Illeo from behind the neck and draws her head close to her chest struggling all the way. Illeo has no idea what is going on other than that she is pretty sure she can feel breasts that her head is being pushed against. Eventually though she can hear and feel it very faintly, the sound of a heartbeat. Very strong but very slow, she isn't sure what this means but eventually the Stranger loosens her grip on Illeo, looking to her as if in some kind of understanding, before hugging her in an embrace.

Pipin returns to this Illeo can tell by Madde's arms tightening around her and hearing harsh sounding speak. Pipin tries to look nonthreatening and throws some of the peaches over. The Stranger notices this and picks them up, but still hisses loudly at Pipin, Illeo finally getting the chance to tell him to go wait somewhere else for now.

Watching him go for a bit, the Stranger finally returns her attention to Illeo who mentions the peaches, and is met with the likely word for them. Taking Illeo in her lap so that Illeo's back is to her front, Madde strokes her hair and hands her a peach to eat, before Illeo sees the wooden mask taken off and placed on the ground in front of them, and can hear the sound of a peach being eaten. As she is sitting though, facing the same direction as the Stranger, she can't see her face unless she turns around to look. She also hears between bites and chewing, what sounds to be like an actual song, soft and more melody than the normal language she speaks.

>What do? Pips is hiding behind one of the standing stones a ways away, shaking and wondering if he could quickly head back to the fort to get an angry mob over to the island to burn it down.
>>
>>188159
I think I know something about how this will go.
>Get up, tell the stranger, even know she won't know what you said, you'll come back alone, using this time to look at her face and give her a small now for her politeness.
>Go tell Pip not to tell anyone about that and just say it was a nightmare if asked.
>>
>>188182
I'm guessing they head back after that? Return to the normal turn pace?
>>
>>188232
What no, go back after Pip goes home knowing not to talk about that.
Bring a bed roll, food for the night and honey as a gift and try to learn more about that thing.
>I hope it's a litch
>>
>>188250
Alright, will post in a bit, just have to go take care of something quick. Also if Pipin isn't to talk about it, what should he tell the rest of the tribe, when they ask about Illeo?
>>
>>188256
Tell Illeo to say. "If they ask, I'm staying a few days to confront my fears and finally be over with this."
>Bring food for a few days and some the alcohol now that I think about.

After eating for a bit, Illeo has an idea. Moving to get up, the Stranger seems to ask a question but Illeo talks to her as if she could understand and says she'll be back later. On her feet she looks to see the Stranger's appearance and is a little taken aback. Her features are vaguely human with all the expected parts but different enough to be unsettling. Sort of an uncanny beauty that seems familiar but very strongly suggest "not-human", with stressed, sharp features that almost look like they were handmade rather than naturally formed. Probably the most noticeable of which being her large eyes, dilated all the way black in the dim light. Also with her hood down, it's clear to see her fair hair to match her pale skin, and perhaps the biggest difference of all, elongated ears that reach back a bit. All in all it presents a rather disturbing first appearance, along with how tall she is (Illeo figures her to be twice her height) and her slender yet firm frame.

She doesn't seem to mind her face being seen though is obviously confused as she watches Illeo take her leave as politely as she can. Eventually Illeo catches up to Pipin and they return to the fort, Illeo having Pipin swear not to say anything to anyone. The story he'll give is that she's gone to deal with the nightmares on her own by staying on the island.

>>188250
As quick as she can, Illeo gathers supplies for her stay as well as some special gifts for the Stranger in the form of honey and some of Rick's peach wine. Wrapping it all up in her bedroll and some extra clothes as well as a small axe just in case, she heads out to the dock again and takes one of the smaller crappier boats, to head back.

By the time she reaches the island again it's getting early she can tell and there won't be much time till sunrise, but hurriedly running about she does eventually locate the Stranger again. She feels happy to see her again, and gets the feeling it is mutual, when she hugs Illeo in greeting like a mother to a small child due to the height difference.

>What do?

>>188386
More or less. The Stranger doesn't wear robes though, her clothes aren't tight but they fit to her body well and are layered so appear quite comfortable, as well as having many pouches and belts and such for storing things probably. The only similarity with robes is the hood, which conceals her identity along with the wooden mask. And of course the golden jewelry, which prevents a stark contrast with her dark green clothes.
>>
>>188623
Try giving her honey and some wine to see how she feels about them but mostly to are,y she can eat.
>Now that you have the stranger, start exploring the island more thoroughly.
>Speak to the stranger like she can understand you but make it a one-sided conversation where you answer most of your own questions as you explore for a place to sleep.

Illeo offers her the honey by putting it on one of the peaches, as well as the wine. She likes the first quite a lot but loves the second, so much that she seems to exclaim so and leans down to kiss Illeo on the head.

Now together Illeo figures to try to explore the island more and see if maybe there's things the group missed that the Stranger knows about. Some of the notable highlights are the flowered pattern path which when getting close Illeo notices some dancing motes of light low along the path. Another thing is, the Stranger seems to be unable to pass the standing stones to the other closed burial mounds. Illeo even tries to take her by the hand past them but she refuses and says something that sounds like despair in her voice.

All the way though Illeo tried talking to her like they understood, stopping here and there to exchange words with the Stranger about things they found. Lastly Illeo thinks to try to sleep just barely inside the opened mound, but when the Stranger notices what she is doing, she picks up Illeo and her stuff and carries her. This goes on for about ten minutes till the come to the rocky crag at the north of the island. Still holding Illeo in her arms she scales the small risen mount till they come to a small plateau beyond which Illeo notices a small cave. There are all sorts of markings on the walls in bright blue paint, similar to the stone ones all over the standing stones and burial mounds. Since it's paint, this makes Illeo think it is recent, maybe the Stranger herself having made them. Inside the cave isn't much, just a large, long bed that looks to have been made makeshift from branches and velvets from the burial mound. Strangely though it looks like the branches though they may have been taken from the trees, are still growing. Also there is a closed chest by the bed, and a similar little branch table holding some trinkets on top.

While in the cave Illeo can see the sun rising, surprised at how long she was out. The stranger though puts her on the large bed before moving to the cave entrance and drawing a leafy branch overhang down from which she hung some of the tapestries from the burial mound. That seems to get rid of all the light from the entrance, after which she returns to the bed and undresses her outer layer and prompts Illeo to do the same before putting her arm around her to lay down to sleep. As tired as she is, Illeo soon falls asleep to what she would guess to be a lullaby the Stranger sings to her, as well as the sound and feel of her strong, slow heartbeat.

>What do? We can return back to the usual turn order, of the rest of the tribe and weeks at a time, whenever you like.

If it were a neanderthal I'd say so. This is something else.

I'm going to bed after this post.

Illeo, once she wakes up try to teach the stranger plains speak but after a While she should thank the stranger saying she'll come back soon to visit.

>>
>>188778
I said there might be a little supernatural stuff if you go looking for it. The group went poking around a haunted island and opened up a burial mound and fucked around with the contents.

Plus it's been 4 threads now and this is the first example of it to show up. I'm not going to have magic and dragons and stuff going on, just a little stuff of legend smidgen here and there that has real world equivalent. In this case, Illeo found something akin to a Tuatha in a burial mound. The primary focus though is still the main tribe and their advancement, and always will be.

Illeo remains with Madde long enough where they can converse on a very basic level, enough to say farewell for now. Also Illeo takes over the peach gathering duty so that she spends time with the Stranger ongoing and can more and more understand her. Anything in particular she should be trying to accomplish with this relationship?

>>187435
Apra spearheads an effort to create an actual structure off the pier, to better store and make boats as well as goods.

Stone can be gotten in small amounts, eventually a proper tool for it may be developed. If the goat is masonry though, they'd do better to understand that concept with mud or clay, which the purple can teach.

Lastly there is an increased focus on family making and having children. Pipin and Rowena had still been in the honeymoon stage, but there is a little difficulty in accepting moving on from that since Pipin doesn't feel he's ready to be a father at such a young age. Rowena manages to convince him to try for a baby with her though, being realistic about her age and reduced window for bearing children. Not exactly a fair position to force Pipin into but one he has to accept by marring an older woman.

Uru and Faun meanwhile have no such misgivings and would be happy to have another child. Rick suggests though and Faun requests that they wait till their son is at least six months old before they try for another, to be easier on both her and their son. As for the nomad couple, they say if it happens it happens but they won't conceive on command since they are temporary members of the tribe to begin with.

Aside of that, Vegita figures to settle down. The plains raider isn't interested in him after having kept her prisoner for over a year, but he is able to get the interest of the forest raider women. Which should he go for with the intent to marry?

>Aside of these listed though, it's hard to promote more families and children without other marriages in the tribe. More relationships will need to be formed.

Cont.

>>187920

It is suggested to Rick by Illeo to increase wine production and make it stronger if possible. He hadn't considered this before but agrees to try. And no, the wine isn't addictive. Well, anymore than it would be to an alcoholic, which there are none in the tribe currently.

A trading action is sent to the purples who say they can get you proper tools for stone taking on their next resupply when you'll also be getting more horses. You are able to learn though, better the idea of masonry with mud or clay, both of which are in abundance in the area. In particular at least, the idea of firing things, which may also come in handy with pottery.

There is also an effort to make the saddle stay on. Although it is made more comfortable for the horse and stable for the rider, that still doesn't guarantee it to stay on the horse. As well, reigns are attempted to be developed but don't get that far, only very basic ones in the form of a rope around the horses neck or head.

Aside of all the specific actions are the usual ongoing, of general improvement, good production and stockpiling, and and expanding construction work. Especially for the farm which is coming along nicely, and with an idea for a storage building.

Lastly as usual plains culture, language and religion is promoted and enforced more or less. It's doing a good job at least of further unifying the tribe overtime.
>>
>>188773
There is also a strong effort to focus on understanding, using and training the horses. Some small gains are made but unfortunately, the biggest help in the plains raider, remains a dead end as long as she remains uncooperative. What might take a couple weeks for her, will take some time for the others to manage on their own.

>What do for the coming weeks moving forward? Actions and interactions for the group, as well as how to act towards the other tribes.
>>
>>188950
>>What do for the coming weeks moving forward?
Try to integrate uncooperative members more. Can we offer tribal membership to some very useful slaves?

Are the women all mated/married now? We need more offspring.
>>
>>188950
Continue with the same cultural unification stuff and Vegita should marry the forest raider.

Illeo gather more peaches + interact with Madde.

Rick produce more alcohol and refine the process.

Pipin and Rowena try for that child in between animal work.

Uru, Apra, Vegita and faun should all focus on advancing the dock project.

All of our slave labour should assist where possible in the dock project, continue to expand our farms, cut down trees and produce low skill goods.
>>
>>189042

A social focus is put on integrating everyone who isn't already so. At the end of the two weeks, the two forest raiders have accepted the tribal life and after a trial period are trusted enough to be freed and don't attack anyone or run away. Also as well, Vegita had been making gains with the unnamed female Lumpur prisoner who lost her husband. Rather than treating her harshly or trying to shower her with kindness, he instead is able to relate to her having lost his wife when the original tribe was massacred, and he was able to help her deal with her grief having gone through it himself. Eventually in something of a surprise to many of the tribe, they opt to marry in a simple ceremony and with request without celebrations. The tribe still celebrates it, but Vegita and his wife are accepted to not show up.

With that, that puts the only remaining prisoners who can't fully be trusted, at Leona, and the plains raider.

>Are the women all mated/married now?
All the men are, well except Rick, but most of the women remain single. Excluding the nomad couple who may or may not stay past the year, there are now three official marriages/relationships in the tribe with all available men partnered to a woman. That still leaves though eight women single and no single men left.

>>189110
Good progress has been made to group unification, with only two of the prisoners not assimilated members of the tribe.

Illeo meanwhile continues to spend time with the Stranger during peach collecting duty and time in between as well. Among improving their ability to communicate, Madde has also been teaching Illeo to play a sort of harp which she seeks to try to duplicate and have Uru see about making one. One thing of note that does happen, is Illeo is given some silver jewelry from the burial mound like the remains of those interred, and the Stranger also tries to get Illeo to help her remove the lid of the central stone coffin but to no success. On a separate note, in their time together Illeo has bathed with Madde in the lake a couple times, and has seen her unclothed confirming her gender in the presence of female sex traits and reproductive parts.

Rick in improving his booze methods, has realized to try to give the wine a longer period of time to sit before consumption which makes it taste better. As such he has made a few large vats in which to give the wine time to develop.

Pipin and Rowena take to their animal duties well, and there are expected now three wolf litters before the year is out, as well as the continual growth of the other animal populations. Alongside the animals, they themselves also try for a baby during their nights and any long lengths of free time.

Everyone else continues work as usual, with a large focus on expanding the docks, with another pier set up and a small boathouse completed. By the time the two weeks are up, both the tribute to the Lumpur is due, as well as the trade costs for the horses from the purple tribe. Between these two resource costs, the tribe is set back quite a bit in goods, however it is important to note that before these exchanges took place, the tribe was nearing storage capacity for goods and wouldn't have the room to continue at their current rate.

In particular, the farms for example have reached a size where no further land can be maintained by the size of the labor force the tribe has, without devoting everyone to them. Really only construction materials are being used at a rate that matches or exceeds the rate they are gathered, due to the frequent projects enacted by the tribe. Most if not all other goods are now at a rate of replenishment/production that exceed their use.

>What to do for the coming weeks? Spring is nearing completion as the summer months fast approach and temperatures rise. Of note that the tribe now has 6 horses, as well. It's enough now where that if left to their own devices they will start to breed on their own, however not at as frequent a rate or as high a success as if they were tended to by someone who was experienced with horse care.

Send traders with Rick and the unmarried raider girl to the purple tribe, but this time just got to try to convince purple people to leave, mostly being the raider girl looking for a husband.

Then send Rowena and Pip with the young wolves that aren't fully trained but won't run away .
>Like the one on top, try to draw more people back, like Leonas husband and daughter, or even some young Lumpur teen men and women.

Then send Uru with another unmarried women to the north to the pink asking them to explore the east and tell us what is out there.
>We will pay after you've explored and again, draw men and women in to our tribe.

>>189482
>>189457

I believe there is only one raider prisoner left and she is still not to be trusted with anything. I don't think that the baby idea will go over well
>>
>>189591
I doubt we really let them roam around freely, they just so far have accepted life at our fort, and may still want to leave and be free.

Having them bear us children would help tie them to us closer, and less likely to leave.

We should start impregnating the other women and start the next generation of children soon....

I don't know why there seems to be a sentiment against impregnated women in our village outside of marriage, and limit ourselves to just 1 child per 9 months. There is a saying " a tribe full of men but only a single woman, means the tribes future is doomed. But a tribe full of women, and a single man, and the tribes future may yet survive." I'm paraphrasing a bit.
>>
>>189609

It wasn't directed at you specifically, and truthfully, It wasn't so much for her freedom, as she has kids here that she raised and too care of, and would probably feel less included to leave when she has a life here that isn't so bad.

We could just tie her up and remove some body parts to turn her into a baby factory. Fucked up and extreme, but apparently the more rational one to kill her is somehow worse. And we instead try to integrate them into our tribe without worrying about any risks future risks that poses, just keep em tied up till as prisoners till they want to stay with us forever.

>>189627
Target some of the pink and purple tribe.

Particularly the young from pink tribe, we take all our single, trustworthy women to pink tribe for a large "trade" mission and show off some of our goods and animals. Have some of the women be flirty to some of the single men and invite some of them back for a festival we will be having in a month or so with drinks stocked up and passed around. make them want to be part of our superior tribe culture, food and women.
>>
Just a quick question, what were the plains raiders requirements again?

>>189286
First off, Uru and Faun get to having another child soon, we have surplus food and thus should focus on breeding where possible.

Pipin and Rowena should work on the animals as usual along with trying for that child she wants.

Illeo should continue with her current actions; hunting, fishing, gathering peaches and talking with madde.

Apra,(Any unassigned people), Uru and Faun should begin construction of more boats to facilitate more trade and fishing. Possibly attempt to make them better boats.

Rick continue with the alcohol experiments, maybe try messing around with honey.

Vegita and the forest raider (maybe name her Emma?) he married should attempt to bond as a married couple. As to actual labour they should guide the slaves in their tasks of assisting anyone by gathering resources, running errands, creating simple goods and tools and cutting down trees.
>>
I have to go out for a bit but I'll try to clear up some stuff for when I get back.

>>189457
Rick goes with the plains raider to the purples trying to get a husband for the raider, but she does a good job of making herself seem rather unappealing and hard to control. Rick instead tries to attract other people away then but there's not much interest beyond an orphaned boy, though he's rather young. Nothing wrong with more able bodies in the tribe, but if your main goal is boosting population, he's not physically capable of sex yet. They do say though if you want settlers, they can send word back to the city and probably some people will be interested and come out here. Rick is not entirely sure about this though, since he can imagine the tribe being flooded with outsiders all of a sudden, causing problems with culture and governance as well as group identity. For now, he holds off on that idea, but makes note of it and the orphan boy.

Rowena and Pipin go to the Lumpur, but are pretty quickly shot down when word spreads that they're basically looking to draw people away, especially with no incentive like Rowena's dowry when they learn the wolves brought aren't there for trade. Rowena is able to convince Leona's husband to come with her though for a little help. Once again, Pipin makes note of the new babies and pregnant women about the Lumpur village.

Cont.

Including with these actions to the pinks since they're pretty good.

>>189609
The two forest raider women are actually rather happy with their lives here and have assimilated as well as they can in a short time, they've been given full freedom for nearing a month now and haven't run away or tried anything. Their old life as raiders wasn't so great and didn't have a culture really, now living with you guys they aren't struggling to survive, are living comfy and get luxuries like honey. They themselves have taken to the tribal life well enough that they've been half-complaining about not having husbands.

>>189687
The plains raider as per her demands, says that if you make her Queen of the tribe, she'll assimilate as best she can, immediately go and kill the chieftain of the Lumpur to be followed by scattering his people to the wind, after which she'll show the group how to use and tend/breed horses so that yours is a fighting group capable of dominating the forest region and beyond. Basically she says she's willing to leave her old raiding tribe behind since she feels like your group has something good going, but she won't serve, only rule.
>>
>>189719
Tell her that she isn't worthy, we can kill the chief on our own, and we learn to ride and domesticate horses more and more very week. At the rate we are going we will probably sell you into slavery soon since you have limited value and worth. You can either prove that you're even worthy of being apart of our tribe, and pick up some of the slack, or we can sell you for less than a horse.

Tell her that we've grown better under Uru than we could have under you, which no your method of growing would probably be to attack and steal from other tribes. Being a good leader does not require you to be a good warrior. What good is being able to kill and constantly steal, when it is everything you must do to just eat enough food to survive the week.

Is the shaman lady from Lumpur staying with us at our tribe or is she commuting back and forth from time to time? We need to ask her stuff.
>>
>>189766

That's a really solid speech, I like it.
>>
>>189766
The shaman is staying with us as the Lumpur have a male shaman to replace her, since she has joined us here.

Also I am thinking that the plan to contact the pink tribe about joining us, offering a far better life if they want to join us, is really smart. I mean all we need to do is set up the lakeside district with a few houses and show them our excessive wealth.

It would also be worth pointing out to them that we have an excess of boats, meaning if they want to visit family they can.

Not to mention the many available women of our tribe, like those two forest raiders whom jokingly complain of not being married.
>>
>>189796
>show them our excessive wealth
Not when we are still paying tribute!
We had the change to stop by taking out the orange tribe, but we didn't and opted for the tribute for protection. When they see u swith excessive wealth they will increase tribute demands, and will do so as long as they feel the amount will hinder us enough from overtaking them. At this point we either accept this, or we enter direct conflict with them. Seeing as we pussed out when we tried, it means we will end up going the tribute route.

We can show off without letting everyone, including potential raiders from knowing what we have, as a rich tribe, small in umber with lots of goodies.
>>
>>190042
>>189719
Ask the Shaman lady, and Apra together who aside from the chief, are the influential members and who supports the chieftain.
Find out who is loyal to who, how many, and how hard it would be to sway the mover to at least be sypethetic or open to "better relations" with us.
Ask how she can think to get them to join us instead of scattering to the winds.
Plan a way to integrate them into our tribe absorb them into our culture with a mix of theirs in it not be too alienating.
>>
>>190055
If we peacefully try to absorb that many people, it will seriously throw off the tribal dynamic and turn us into the New Lumpur basically. At least if they are conquered, they can be forced to accept new ways and there will be less of them overall.
>>
>>190167
I neglected to mention we'd be killing or rejecting some of the lumpur, and we would only be doing this towards the ones who either want to join us or don't want to leave.
When I say scatter, I mean the whole/majority of the lumpur tribe that's still alive running away or leaving. I'd like to be able to get around 10 of their people.

I am still hoping to do a much more thorough search for remnants of our old tribe, dispite it being a year later. I hope to leave traps like the ones Illeo found by Pipin, and other items like trinkets from our old tribe laying scattered pointing in a direction towards the lake.

Can we call members of the original tribe of Uru and Illeo like idk, blue tribe or Sanger or Langer tribe or something.
>>
>>190197
Thing is though OP has stated we aren't, without holy intervention and luck, going to find any more of our tribe because the rest of them are dead. Either thanks to time or the attack itself.

Thus I propose an alternate method. We must accept we won't over take the Lumpur in the in the short term. As that would require either war, subsuming them, another tribe attacking them thus lowering their numbers or some combination thereof.

Instead we focus on the longer term, consider our current population. We have many adults and of them currently three reproductive pairs, one of whom might not work out mind you. The fact is subtracting temporary populations like the migrant couple and the purple tribe members who came to assist us in farming our actual population is far smaller. Yet our children will soon outweigh our adult population greatly.

Consider it thus, Uru and Faun have one child and take 6-5 months off after each birth to recover.

This means averaging the time between births (to 5.5 months) that after five years they will have another five children.

Remember we have two (Vegita+Forest raider and Uru+Faun) pairs of married people currently of good breeding age whom can sustain this production of people for sometime. Add in Pipin's contribution of one or two children with his current mate and any he picks up in future. Not to mention any other pairs of people we manage to set up then you realise just how quickly our population is set to explode.

The reason the Lumpur are unable to sustain this level of child birth is simple, they lack the technology to store food for as long as us meaning that they need to work longer for less. That in and of itself reduces their reproductive speed as well.

We must play the long game people, as undying-super-spirits-controlling-civilisations it is what we are best for.

>>190197
I like the concept of calling ourselves Sanger or something. Rather than just the Origin tribe
>>
>>190263
>we aren't, without holy intervention and luck, going to find any more of our tribe
thats why i opted for a more passive approach leaving telltale signs since we cannot search very far.

>We must accept we won't over take the Lumpur
only because we aren't allowed to attack them, even when it is voted for.

>Instead we focus on the longer term, consider our current population
We could have just had a orgy and tried to get everyone pregnant.
>>
>>190263
I had an idea on how to take Orange tribe.
>Tell pink or the reject the tribute with us, in the event of Lumpur attacking them we build some defences and supply them with better gear for the battle.
>If not, we could send someone to go find a raider group, telling them about the rich Lumpur to by the river.
>Or, if really want to kill them quickly, we grant power to the one raider girl for a short while to train and lead us in to battle, shortly after we take Lumpur we re-enslave her.
>>
>>190288
I think thats really bs, and unfair to re-enslave her.
I'd rather be up front and break her instead, even if it means using forced means. Or idk have her get domed by all the women in the tribe as the official carpet muncher.
>>
>>189609
>>189627
The problem with the polygamy idea is that right now in the current situation of the tribe, not everyone is up to it. Vegita lost his family just a year ago and his new wife her husband sooner than that. Maybe in the future things could change, but for awhile Vegita wants to keep it slow and simple and maybe get a family with his wife before looking to the rest of the tribe. Uru and Faun meanwhile are and always have been very happy and in love, the idea of Uru having other wives upsets Faun to an extent, just as having kids with other women without being a husband and father doesn't sit well with Uru. Lastly is Pipin who as usual will take one for the team and act for the good of the tribe, but already it was such a big thing for him to get married and try for a baby at his age, that he was already overwhelmed with his wife. Rowena meanwhile understands the need for more children, and doesn't mind at all if Pipin takes other wives or just fathers children with other women out of wedlock, and she can and will encourage and convince Pipin to do so if the need arises. Should it though, it will be rather stressful for all that responsibility to fall on Pipin to perform and essentially father the next generation, and his happiness and productivity will decrease. And then aside of the males, there's all the women who are generally open to marrying and having children, but most of them aren't all too keen on being one of multiple wives or having children without a husband. They can be convinced or suggested to, for the good of the tribe, but it goes to show that they as well aren't entirely accepting of it either.

Also there's the separate problem that if Pipin is made to step up to the plate, there could become a problem and risk of inbreeding down the line, when the next generation are almost all his children.

So overall, that's the general climate behind the polygamy idea. Everyone understands the need for it, but right now none are particularly welcoming it, and some like Vegita aren't interested in it at all for at least a few years. It's not that a polygamy situation is impossible, just that it could have drawbacks and side effects.

The first two tribes weren't much a success, so Uru tries to be more forward and go to the pinks with goods and multiple single women to basically try to attract or even seduce pink tribals to the cause.

What he finds though is a little alarming, in that there are many less pink members than there were before, only about one family. When asked about what's going on, they tell you that the Lumpur were worried about losing some of their tribe to conflict and the supernatural, and so kind of forcefully suggested that most of the pinks join the Lumpur tribe. They left behind the most productive and respected family, but everyone else they basically carted off to their village to swell their numbers. You trade with the pinks anyway and still ask if anyone would like to come, but after what the Lumpur did to them, they are even less likely to separate from their families.

That may work but there's also the risk that they'll just get captured.

Uru and Faun decide that they don't really have the luxury to wait as long between births when they are the current primary child-producing family of the tribe. Rather than waiting six months then, they'll wait till the end of this month to start trying again.

Pipin and Rowena are actively trying for a child, Rowena trying even more and increasing their rate, coming to understand the tribe's population bottleneck problem. They've only been trying for about a month now though so they can't be sure how long it will be for a baby to take.

Illeo meanwhile does her duties as what is expected of her but otherwise spends the time she can at the island. Over a month now and they are able to converse on a very basic level with single words. Also Madde tries to teach Illeo how to write in her language it seems, using a method of thin, flexible tree bark and the special kind of blue ink she makes.

With the boathouse and the basic dock completed, anyone with duties set about making boats. The Lumpur standard is the most common, but progress continues on making something bigger and better. The idea of a method of propulsion that isn't rowing or manpower though, currently eludes the group.

Rick continues to perfect his wine making, and begins to question adding more ingredients in like honey. Perhaps in time he might even be able to make mead.

Lastly, Vegita didn't marry one of the forest raiders, but the widowed Lumpur woman, Emma still works. Still, he makes an effort to bond with her and help her deal with her loss just as he had. No intimacy yet, just getting to know one another and form a bond. This helps that they also work together, in general tasks though at a lessened load so that they have more free time.

>Whew lot to catch up on.
>>
>>189766
Her demands are shot down pretty soundly, though she doesn't give up her stance at least, laughing and wishing you good luck then without her help. She says to enjoy your continued role as a footstool to others, if not the Lumpur across the lake then some other Lumpur tomorrow. When it's brought up that her defiance does her no good, and you may end up just giving her away as a slave for less than an animal, she says maybe then someone would appreciate her skills, laughing when you bring up your progress without her and making fun of the attempted reigns you made. She may be very frustrating and a problem to have around and deal with, but it doesn't seem she's going to crack or withdraw her demands. She seems to have some vision in mind and won't settle for less.

>We need to ask her stuff.
She's married to Pipin now and is a part of the tribe. When asked about the dynamics of the tribe, Rowena and Apra say that the chieftain commands the loyalty of the warriors who in turn command the loyalty of several families each. Certainly not everyone enjoys the way things are, but most of the tribe are supportive since by their standards they live well, and it's not like they're just kept in line by fear. To be fair though the chieftain does rule with a pretty iron fist, just that his rule works for them and is accepted so little to no nastiness results.

They make clear though that the dynamic may have changed, when they politely kidnapped most of the pink tribe. When asked about how best to improve relations and sway people to joining, they say it might be hard since the people are accepting of their lives and even if the chief and the warriors were killed, they'd probably rather remain independent and just seek your tribe's protection rather than the other way around. The only surefire way to get them to join would be to force them, or if they lost their livelihood. Even then, a fair amount would probably flee rather than join up, so all in all it's a difficult situation.

One thing is for certain though, if they are welcome or peacefully assimilated, that many people will damage and threaten your tribe's identity.

Sanger works for a tribe name. There's an idea that when people start to go out, especially to the south, they'll take trinkets done in the Sanger style in the hopes of attracting anyone else who might still be out there.

>>190263
This is a feasible strategy, though for the purpose of the game will require the turns to move onto many months or even a year at a time.

>>190287
>only because we aren't allowed to attack them, even when it is voted for.

That option has always been possible, if people wanted. The only think making it not allowed is the lack of commitment to it. I certainly wouldn't stop the move to war if it was called for.

>>190288
Except for the first, all these strategies are possible.

>>190336
To be fair, she was one of the ones to attack and massacre the Sanger, so feelings towards her were never high let alone her refusal to cooperate. To break her though, is going to require some work, and creative work at that.

>Whew, finally. So I guess, with all this info on the table and possible plans, what do?
>>
In light of recent events I am going to instate a series of new plans, to allow us to grow more prosperously and to weaken the Lumpur.

First off, everyone is to work on their skills for combat. Who ever is found to be the most adept, and expendable, will be set to training for one day a week with any and every weapon we have. This person is to be declared our champion, to face the Lumpur in a martial trial (combat) for power.

Next, everyone else is to come together, in a meeting of the tribe, to discuss our various methods of combat, our weapons and armour in an attempt to rapidly gain superiority over the Lumpur in combat.

I wish for our craftspeople to focus on the construction of housing (in line with our district plans) for the remaining independent population of the pink tribe plus a few extra.

When, or if, these are finished they will then send a party over to the Pink's to discuss them moving to us and living under our protection directly.

I also want a party sent to parley with the purple and Lumpur. Warning the purple of the Lumpur's actions and seeing by what logic the Lumpur see these actions as justified (and to check on their social cohesion. Talk to the captured pink's about them being able to sneak away to us if they want, us even being willing to assist).

As to the actual labour actions (besides the combat training stuff and housing building actions above) I want everyone to gather raw materials, to hunt, to attempt to get the animals breeding, to build more boats, to prepare weapons and ammunition for our bows.

I also want our people to continue to work on the horses. If we can make greater use of this investment, I will feel it wasn't a waste.

Lastly, married couples continue bonding and, where appropriate, breeding. As to the tribe as a whole, continue cultural cohesion improvement.
>>
>>190770
>First off, everyone is to work on their skills for combat. Who ever is found to be the most adept, and expendable

The only question is, is the plains raider included in this?
>>
>>190805
I think that, although she would be certainly more adept, we must face the following facts;

1) She is by no means trustworthy and might consider betraying us for the Lumpur.

2) I don't know if she would be entirely willing to do so without us fulfilling her current demands (of ruling us).

3) She has value, assuming we can get her to talk, which I do admittedly doubt.

4) There are probably things that I am forgetting that are also good reasons, just place any anyone else raises here.
>>
>>190841
I can say at least, since this would be common knowledge to pretty much everyone in the tribe, but if she was to betray you it wouldn't be to the Lumpur, they don't even have horses.
>>
>>190805
Eh I would say don't let her.
>Don't take Lumpur, but we need to start a revolt against the leader and install someone we want as the new leader.
>With all the pink among them, unrest is bound to be high.
>>
>>190871
Or I think we could scare them into putting our Rowena in charge.
>Ask her about the Lumpur religion.
>Don't ask directly but try to cleverly talk out bad Omens evil spirits or any kind of disaster.
>Start leaving the king and some other important people names carved in trees and dolls in the forest with peachs around it.
>>
>>190770
A plan to figure out who is the most capable combatant in the tribe. Leaving out the plains raider, the breakdown is as follows.

1. The unnamed male nomad
2. Illeo
3. Vegita
4. Unnamed forest raider 1
5. Unnamed forest raider 2

Though the male nomad is willing to protect the tribe but not fight a duel with the Lumpur chieftain for it. After this, a gathering of the tribe is held to figure out how to proceed in terms of combat.

Meanwhile housing is built at the forest line, though will take some time to complete. Eventually the pinks can be questioned to come live with you.

Some of the group goes to tell the purples what is going on, which expectedly, they say as long as they aren't the target of conflict and their trade isn't hindered then they wish to keep out of the business going on. The Lumpur themselves are also approached and asked about their actions, but they seem to see no problem with it, since as the protectors of the region they have to keep their numbers to a certain amount. In secret the pinks are talked to as well, and though they are not happy, they fear going against the Lumpur in case of retribution, as well as that despite being technically kidnapped, the Lumpur remain protecting them and uphold their part of the bargain. Some would like to come life with you maybe, but unlike the common Lumpur, these people *are* kept in line with fear.

Otherwise work continues as always, to recuperate from the supplies lost to trading for the horses. The horses themselves are worked with, and though not much progress is made in the way of training or riding them, some are breeding on their own now that you obtained a proper stud and shoved him among the mares.

Lastly, the couples continue to bond and focus on making families. At the end of the two weeks, Uru and Faun start trying again for another baby, while Pipin and Rowena keep up their pace as usual.

>Preparations are being made, the tribe is building back up its stores, and unity is holding steady. What to do for the coming weeks?
>>
>>191111
Nice quads breh.
If the nomad tribe come back around would they be willing to help us fight the Lumpur?
>I'm sure they won't engage if we just get all the nomad males to come along.
>they said more are coming to help us build shit, so if we just show up at the Lumpur camp with Superior numbers and Equipment I'm sure they will just surrender.

Also.
>>190917
>>
>>191111
I want Vegita, Uru and Faun to work on improving our weapons and armour, consulting Illeo as to the improvements.

I wish for Apra and one or two others to continue work on boats and the appropriate infrastructure for them. If they think of improvements that would also be nice but they aren't the primary objective of this group.

Illeo is to focus on hunting and training for combat, while providing consultation as to possible weapon improvements / testing prototypes.

Pipin and Rowena shall continue work on our various animal stocks, with a focus on the horses.

The various slaves, and free people, are to work on the same general labour they always do but they are to primarily work towards finishing the housing project.
>>
>>190699
>To be fair, she was one of the ones to attack and massacre the Sanger
I know that, but i think that having her overthrow the leader in the lumpur tribe the ntake her out to assume control over it won't make us seem to good or worthy of leading especially if we use someone sent from us to do our dirty work, only to tell them we can boss them around now that we god rid of or re-enslaved the raider girl.

As for breaking her, well that won't be pleasant for me to type out or for you to narrate. And the last thing I want is someone to flip out and say stop doing that and we stop without finishing.

Lets name forest raider 1 Onup, and raider number 2 Sa Unhu, I 'm just making shit up.

>>190055
Can we ask this? So we can be less indiscriminate in who we need to remove and how many.
>>
Ok,I think I have an idea. Ok, so I think we should save some of the crops every season. In two years we shouldbe able to pay some barbarians to attack Lumpur. And after that, we attack the winner of that battle (Lumpur or the barbarians) now that theu are weaker.
>>
>>191269
Whats to stop them from just stealing our payment and attacking us? We would obviously be seen as weaker to them, and we may need to prove that we even have enough to pay them. which means showing them our location and wealth. It would be easier it we just attack them ourselves and take them out, we have been training and preparing for over a year now. Their tribute was designed to stop us from doing just that. Funnily enough, they haven't raised the tribute amount to match our growth. So they are probably too unaware or incompetent to stop a sneak attack from us.
>>
>>191269
Why not wait till winter and then refuse to pay tribute.
>We knock out the tribute collectors if they come to fight keeping them as slaves, they can revolt if their forces to work in the snow all day and most of the night.
>have some people set up camp around the town, fucking with people while in winter clothes and como.
>Burn the food stores, steal all of their live stock, if they try to fish shoot them with trank darts.
>All night and all day we shoot people with arrows, set fire with fire bombs and beating anyone who wonders to far from the camp taking them as slaves.

Let the old Pink people leave and come live with us untill it's safe to go back to their old camp. But while they are at our tribe they have to help with the war by handling the P.O.W's
>>
>>191269
That is a terrible idea on so many levels. The current plan I am working on functions thus;

1) We build houses and produce some larger boats with sealed (I.e with doors) cargo holds, maybe inlay them into the boat(?).

2) We convince the free pinks to move to our city, citing the greater security in numbers and many free women to help them avoid inbreeding.

3) Meanwhile we convince the captured pinks to join us by escaping with us in phase 4.

4) We tell the Lumpur that we will bring the tribute to them in order to cover the escape. While we bring things out to the village the captured Pinks get into the boats and hide.

5) We conceal the pink's population in our fort / the surrounding area until the Lumpur give up the hunt for them.

6) If they attempt to take any of our population threaten to stop paying tribute. They won't dare attempt war in their current state considering our numbers.

This will not only greatly raise our population but also allow us to weaken the Lumpur without, hopefully, war.
>>
>>191333
How about a combination of the plans?
>We start building and do all of the actions you suggested but durring the hunt for pink tribe member we need to head out and start taking tribute collectors as temporary slaves waiting for winter to roll around.
>When need to get all the pink people out before winter.
>When winter hits, the siege begins.
>>
Ok, what if we slow their progress by starting a fire in the middle of the night near their camp? We send the most cautious member to do that. They will never know who did it
>>
>>191405
Look, these sorts of plans will probably backfire terribly so can we just agree to leave them until after my plan here >>191333?
>>
>>191333
>>191427
>>191333
Your plan ain't that great either.

>1) We build houses and produce some larger boats with sealed (I.e with doors) cargo holds, maybe inlay them into the boat(?).
We can barely make a boat, and now we are going to build houses when we lived and built tents? We got lucky by finding pre made shelter carved by nature. (The cave)
>2) We convince the free pinks to move to our city, citing the greater security in numbers and many free women to help them avoid inbreeding.
We already tried, most said no, or were to scared and uncertain.
>3) Meanwhile we convince the captured pinks to join us by escaping with us in phase 4.
Not really possible since they have better living stadards and have assimilated a bit into Orange tribe, and they may inform on us of what we are up to.
>4) We tell the Lumpur that we will bring the tribute to them in order to cover the escape. While we bring things out to the village the captured Pinks get into the boats and hide.
Why is this even nessecary? The can and will find signs of activive of over 15 people at our supposuedly 6 or 7 people camp. We'd have to destroy alot of what we built up in order to properly hide it. And I'm farily certain that if they don't go looking and assume they packed up and left (unlikely since lumpur have pink hostages), they will notice something is up at our camp eventually.
>5) We conceal the pink's population in our fort / the surrounding area until the Lumpur give up the hunt for them.
See above, but i'll added that it would probably mean taking extreme lengths to hide several people who will not be gathering or hunting or being productive but draining our food supply.
>6) If they attempt to take any of our population threaten to stop paying tribute. They won't dare attempt war in their current state considering our numbers.
They won't dare? They are oppressing 3 other tribe while holding hostages, who all together outnumber them. They dared to force us to pay protection money to ensure we stayed below them. By showing that we even dare to resist, or are going in power, it would silly to think they won't try to take us down with force and retur nthe status quo. They want to be the most powerfull tribe there, the moment we threten it, they take action against us.
>This will not only greatly raise our population but also allow us to weaken the Lumpur without, hopefully, war.
The majortity of which (pink) who are too scared to even fight back. And would coward to the new power in the area, rather than take up arms to fight. It seems that the ones who would fight are being taken hostage, or may have been killed off or exiled.

Your painstaking lengths to avoid "war" is risking our chances of survival more and more. Stop pussyfooting around.
>>
I return, a little late but I can get in a few turns. Gonna read over what was posted since, but a consensus would be nice.
>>
>>191143
They might but that won't be for almost a year now.

>>190917
Their religion is similar to animism but as long as the island isn't brought up, then Rowena at least is willing to talk about bad omens and such from their religion. You could try to spook them, but you'll have to be more clever than that since they don't have a written language so they wouldn't know what you'd said in carvings, and they veer so far from the island that they probably wouldn't recognize the peaches on their own as being from there. The former Lumpur members in your group freak out because you let them know where they come from.

>>191173
One of the more interesting improvements for which an idea arises, is to try to make a bow which is curved rather than flat. It will take time though since it's a rather complicated idea.

Boat work is continued, and plans are come up with to make the single pier a more permanent structure. It is thought to use actual logs rather than bundles of sticks as support.

Everyone else continues with their common duties, and of note that the houses are being thrown up fairly well as time passes.

>>191188
You might feel guilty about it after the fact, but I don't think the defeated people are going to be able to pass judgement on the victors.

As for breaking her, well you'll have to be creative because treating her well or poorly, threats and the like don't seem to work. I do like those names for the forest raiders though.

>Can we ask this?
I believe I did answer it earlier? They guess that if you really, soundly wanted to cut the head off the snake there's probably about 10 people you'd have to deal with, not including the warriors or chieftain.

>>191269
>>191332
>>191333
>>191389
>>191405

These are all viable strategies, but I'd like *some* sort of consensus, or combination of them to follow.

You can go ahead and give orders for the coming weeks again though, in the meantime.
>>
>>193512
I think you should give us some options for us to pick, I've already writing out several plans and choices we could take, but they never really got solid backing or anything more than one other person agreeing.

Just give us some options to pick from. Otherwise we won't get much done, and the quest may stagnant bit.
>>
>>193528
Alright but they'll be terribly basic.

>Continue the peaceful status quo until invariably you end up just leaving the Lumpur in the dust naturally
>Take the violent approach to the Lumpur, end their annoyance once and for all
>A mix between the two, redefine the relationship and establish yourself as independent, putting an end to the tribute and such, some violence used to make a statement and get the point across
>Give up and leave to go live somewhere else
>Some sort of wild card strategy like using the plains raider or the Stranger

Feel free to modify these of course.
>>
>>193542
>Take the violent approach to the Lumpur, end their annoyance once and for all.
Hit the chiefs tent at night with fire pots, and if he runs out everyone charge him. Then spring the pink tribe hostages, before run out of their camp and tell them why we did this and what we intent. If they attack us, then throw range weapons and retreat back to our boats that we have hidden a bit away from sight and prepare to hit them on the beach.

We are like a coiled spring waiting to strike, after all this time spent getting ready for this moment over a year now.

Just make sure the chieftain dies, no matter what, and maybe the most obvious and adamant supporters

I'm going to a wedding in a few hours, probably won't be posting today until 16 hours later.
>>
>>191333
I agree with you anon, you plan seem pretty good although we should have some from of the disguise so they don't automatically go to our tribe.
>But I don't know if we should.

>>194586
If you get this Anon to say yes to your plan I'll back you choices.
>>
>>193542
>Continue the peaceful status quo until invariably you end up just leaving the Lumpur in the dust naturally

In addition to various schemes to reduce their numbers and such without linking it back to us.

>>194930
Thanks for the support, kinda anon

>>193037
As to you, sorry for not responding quickly as I was asleep, you rebuttal of my points is inaccurate.

>"We can barely make a boat, and now we are going to build houses when we lived and built tents? We got lucky by finding pre made shelter carved by nature. (The cave)"

1) We can make boats, not only because we have the resources (rope, wood) but also because we have a member of the Lumpur skilled in making boats (Apra).

2) We can build houses (log cabins), it was stated by OP in one of his updates. There is also no lack of wood for the project considering we are surrounded by old growth woods in most directions.

>"We already tried, most said no, or were to scared and uncertain."

1) That is true but the reason I included them in the plan was the fact the Lumpur would simply take the remaining free pinks assuming the captured ones are gotten without any problems.

>"Not really possible since they have better living standards and have assimilated a bit into Orange tribe, and they may inform on us of what we are up to."

1) We know they were forcefully taken by the Lumpur. So generally they won't have been assimilated.

2) Neither of us know the living standards of the Pink tribe, therefore we can't say the Lumpur are treating them better or worse.

3) What we can state is that actual Lumpur tribes people (those ones we enslaved and then converted to our side) have in past stated they preferred our lifestyle.

This is mostly thanks to our lack of a social hierarchy and a greater availability of resources for them.

>"Why is this even necessary? They can and will find signs of active of over 15 people at our supposedly 6 or 7 people camp. We'd have to destroy a lot of what we built up in order to properly hide it. And I'm fairly certain that if they don't go looking and assume they packed up and left (unlikely since lumpur have pink hostages), they will notice something is up at our camp eventually."

1) Our numbers as of this moment in time are 16 people, not 6-7 as you put it, and in addition to this fact we also have access to a large stock of food. Meaning we could hide their population in the lower caves or if the Lumpur decide to enter our fort in an attempt to find them, they can take the back exit.

2) We wouldn't have to destroy anything to hide them. We would simply move into the houses we have built while they hide in the caves if it is that big of a worry to you.

3) They never noticed we had three slaves of their tribe, huge stocks of food and seemingly never cared when they came over to assist in our defence against the bandits and we came kitted-out with weapons, rather than hunting or fishing tools. Not to mention all the traps and fortifications.

(Cont)
>>
>>194930
Yes. Last check in before I'm probably gone for 12 hours.

Its raining today and I my relatives don't want split money for a cab.
>>
>>194984
>"See above, but I'll added that it would probably mean taking extreme lengths to hide several people who will not be gathering or hunting or being productive but draining our food supply."

1) Who says they can't contribute to hunting, refining (making clay goods and such) and gathering, considering we have used Lumpur slaves for such purposes without any trouble.

2) As of this moment in time, we have such a large production of resources that we are actively filling our store rooms with everything but building materials. Mostly cause we gather them as they are needed. This has been stated by OP. Therefore we can with a good degree of certainty support them with them preforming as outlined in point one.

>"They won't dare? They are oppressing 3 other tribe while holding hostages, who all together outnumber them. They dared to force us to pay protection money to ensure we stayed below them. By showing that we even dare to resist, or are going in power, it would silly to think they won't try to take us down with force and return the status quo. They want to be the most powerful tribe there, the moment we threaten it, they take action against us."

1) They are suppressing two tribes besides us, not three. Though my memory could be failing me.

2) I don't know where you are getting that "holding hostages" bit, would you mind explaining?

3) You are entirely correct that they take our resources to keep us down but not because they think we can outgrow them. Rather they think we would hire mercenaries to fight them for us. Which to be frank we could easily do.

4) There would be a delay on their action against us, not to mention how ineffective it would be. I mean we could just wipe out another tribute party and their tribe would be about equal numbers to us. Not forgetting of course our various defences, I mean we have been needing to update those for sometime now but if we do so then the only way they could beat us would be a protracted siege situation. Something they can't maintain at their current tech level with anything resembling a sizeable force. Even more so in winter.

>"The majority of which (pink) who are too scared to even fight back. And would coward to the new power in the area, rather than take up arms to fight. It seems that the ones who would fight are being taken hostage, or may have been killed off or exiled."

1) More population is more population, there is no downside assuming we can supply, manage and grow it.

2) The reason they don't fight back is they feel indebted to the Lumpur after they once saved them from an attack. If we can convince them the Lumpur are morally wrong the problem will resolve itself.

3) They killed no members of the Pink tribe, mostly because they need them for breeding but also because they know that if they killed even a single one they would certainly lose the loyalty of the Pinks.

4) As to the point of them being exiled, they would probably return to the free pinks, us or the other tribe.
>>
>>195009
(Sorry ran out of space again, any way, back to our regularly scheduled ranting)

4)... and thus we would have encountered them when we visited the free pinks or purple tribe. Since we haven't we can assume they are still alive and in the Lumpur village.

...and lastly

>"Your painstaking lengths to avoid "war" is risking our chances of survival more and more. Stop pussyfooting around."

1) I am not pussyfooting around, for instance I was one of the first advocates of conflict with Lumpur.

Secondly on that point, I do threaten conflict with them in stage 6 of my plan. I don't fear war except when I know it can be avoided without great loss.

2) My plans risk our survival chance? What about the plan of starting a fire in the middle of their village, what about that one? That is entirely insane!

I am done ranting away now and await further correspondence from you anon. This has been surprisingly fun!
>>
Well I see one vote for violence

>>194586

One vote for peace

>>194984

And one towards a complex plan to liberate the pinks

>>194930

Looks like we need a tie breaker, or just another vote.
>>
>>195035
Dudecles I have some questions that may assist in breaking this tie.

1) Can we build (good) boats?

2) Can we build houses? <- To disprove anon's point that we can't build houses

3) Those houses we've been working on, how close to done are they?

4) Is our food production and food stocks enough to support an increase in population as to be expected if my plan (>>191333) goes through? Assuming of course most of our current tribe hunted intermittently to increase stocks.

5) Where relative to the fort and the tribute site are those houses?
>>
>>195050
You can build bigger, better boats but I'm not sure they'd be considered "good". They're still man powered and the same general shape of just a bigger hull pretty much. The group's skills in making boats is playing out, but that skill is limited to the type of boats the Lumpur use.

You can build "houses" but they're like the longhouse, simple rounded roofs covered in wood, mud, and plant matter. Like the main longhouse covering the cave entrance, just smaller.

For the ones being worked on, they'll be completed in about a month.

The current food production would not be enough to support a sudden large increase in population, but the idea is that the new population would also work to help support the tribe, in which case it would be enough.

The houses are to the southeast of the fort, in a cleared area along the forest line.
>>
>>195064
Thank you for answering me. As this proves a fairly large portion of one anon's complaints with my plan wrong.

Also one last question, how long a range are our bows?
>>
>>195068
The flatbows are only accurate to short range. The new bow being developed though would be accurate to medium range. All with practice, that is.
>>
>>195068
Alright well, I side with you on the matter of war.
>I'm not very go at politics or making big choices like going to war. But I'm pretty sure you've been here from the first thread so I trust ya bud.
>I'm just the anonymous soldier, builder, miner and most everything in between so I'm more of a the day to day leader.
>>
>>195091

So I guess that's two votes for conflict?

If so, what's your plan then, how is the group going to take it to the Lumpur?
>>
>>195103
Tell the nomad couple to cross the river at night and map the area around Lumpur for now.
>try to find places where trees and bushes are really thick and my hills or dip.

while sending Pip and Rowena when the wolves are ready to go map the town, where the important buildings are.
>Like food storage, armory, leather making or anything tech.

Illeo should spend alot more time with the thing on the island I feel like it could make a good model for spooky costumes.
>Also to just genrally get better at speaking and communication skills with the thing.

Uru, Faun and Vegita should work on battle gear, having thick cloth on you head, legs and chest. Then a leather tunic, lather pants and helmet.
>Only few sets only for the most important people, other can just have thick cloth and leather on their chest maybe a helm.

And because of this, have Apar, Pip with his wolves and the raider go hunting for bigger pray in a big group.
>Apar and the free rider girls will bring the spears, the bows and fire pots full of sand to train with the gear while out and about.
>Train the dog very fiercely Pip mostly focusing on training the dogs and pulling in smaller prey for stock pile.

Have the Nomadica guy teach Apar the drills and training to teach others and throw of some anti landing defenses that can be quickly deployed.
>>
>>195196
Eh say for the last bit at the end.
>Have the Nomad guy teach Apar fighting styles and tactics to train other people.

And I assumed we where still moving pink into our tribe while trying to sneak them out of Lumpur.
>>
>>195091
I am afraid that I will need to leave soon, primarily for a meal and also as I must attend a party. Therefore I trust you to take care of the tribe.

>>195103
The plan is >>191333 but I feel that what this anon (>>195196) mentions could be quite useful. Primarily the parts about surveying the area around the Lumpur village.

As to the section about training for war, my only suggestion is we continue to improve the bows and train with them.

I must now pop off to a meal be back soon.
>>
Two weeks pass, and summer is almost here.

>>195196
The nomad couple are asked to scout around the Lumpur village, since even if they get caught they wouldn't be thought to be of your group. They find the forest and shrubbery to be densest to the north/western side of the village, and also make note of a small ridge that divides the camp.

Pipin and Rowena also take a trip over to spend some time in the village since they can get away with it, and also to deliver what may be the final tribute as well as let them know that the dowry for Rowena is on it's way. It seems most housing is towards the center, with fishing related storage and production near the water and other sorts of production near the forest. While during their stay they try to convince the pinks about living with your group, some of them are open to it while others are not, eventually you get chased off as some of the pinks blab about you trying to lure them away. Also worth noting related to these two, but Rowena learns she is pregnant. It's still early enough though that she isn't hindered in her actions by it.

As for making protective clothing, there is not an issue with having everyone supplied fully, you've been working on this so long. Same with weaponry.

Pipin trains with the wolves while Apra and the raiders accompany him. The nomad guy also teaches Apra what he can though it's not like he's some tactical mastermind.

>>
>>191333
Enough simple boats have been made that everyone in the tribe can use them, but something like large cargo boats with holds isn't yet possible. Because of this, and the trouble caused by the loyal pinks, you have to put off the plan of infiltrating and sneaking them all out. You imagine some of them will willingly avoid fighting when the conflict starts and attempt to flee, maybe even to you or your boats, but before then you can't accomplish much due to the loyal ones causing trouble for you.

>>195260
So moving forward, what will be the plan of attack, and who will be participating? It's assumed that everyone who does participate will be fully armed and armored.

Any last actions to further sabotage the Lumpur before an attack? Maybe mess with another tribute party?
>>
>>195280
I would suggest that we do mess with another tribute party. Then when they come to investigate we ask if they would prefer us to bring the tribute to them in future. This will give us a cover for arriving at their village.

As to whom will be involved in the attack, everyone whom is willing, including the members we captured from their village and the plains raider women, though not as a fulfilment of her demands.

The attack will occur in one or two turns, this will give us enough time to train everyone to use the bows and other weapons in a satisfactory manner for the assault.

Any other anon's wish to raise a point?
>>
>>195280
Yeah when the tribute party come ask for a few to come to the dock house to help carry it.
>Inside is our guys armed with sleeping dart to make them pass out.
>The them as P.O.W's for now then go back to the tribute party a with everyone to take them rest.
>But you know, don't mob over sneak over and try to shoot everyone at the same time.
>if there is a soldier/Guard tie him up and oh him deep in the cave.

For now have Apar and the Raider girls handle the P.O.W's making sure they work all the time only sleeping for a few hours so they are to tired to try to revolt durring the War.
>Make them chop trees, build houses, start putting traps in the forest as well as general walls, obsicals and pits full of sharp and spears.
>>
>>195354
We should just kill them. It will save us a ton of effort, even more so as during war we will have to deal with a lack of people to stop a revolt.

You do raise a good point so I expand on my plan >>195345 and state we must further enhance our defensive structures and traps.
>>
>>195345
I like that plan.
>After we take them as slaves and another party comes to talk say we will bring it to their village.
>That's when Pip with all the wolves along with the Raider girls dock and launch a attack to induce a panic.
>Have everyone else come down from the north wester side fire bombing and then running back in the to forest to pick them off with sleeping dart, tieing them up and keep them as P.O.W's
>>
I guess the question is, do you plan on fighting a defensive war or taking the fight to the Lumpur?

Also I see the frequent usage of sleeping poison and feel the need to clarify, that it is not as fast acting as you may want. After about an hour or two, it usually puts people out for about as long. It's usage during a fight isn't that beneficial, the main purpose is to injure people with it during a fight, and then those that retreat (or if the fight just results in a stalemate) later on succumb to the sleep, allowing for a counterattack. It's not like you hit them with a dart and within a minute they're out cold.

>>195345
>>195354
You decide to try and take out one more tribute party before making your move. Another month will have to pass till then but you use it to prepare, like finishing the houses by the forest, completing development on the new bow, and setting up a number of traps and better defenses. Also of special note that after this amount of time, Faun learns she is pregnant.

So the tribute party comes, six of them and with some clever luring, you manage to subdue three in the boathouse and the other three at their boats. Only two deaths result, both Lumpur men who went down fighting and injured one of your number and a wolf, while the other man is a pink tribal, and the other three are two Lumpur and one pink tribe women. For now, you imprison them and shove them in the lower cave like you did with the first prisoners. They can be guarded over by Rick and Faun with her baby since they won't be fighting in the conflict to come. Of note that Leona is also re-imprisoned since you're not sure you can trust her not to interfere with your actions. She does plead with you not to harm her husband or daughter though, which you try to promise.

---

So the tribute party has been dealt with. How would you like to proceed for the next turn. Since important action is happening and time is important, I'll say turns are by the day now rather than weeks.
>>
>>195399
I disagree with your insistence on taking prisoners. Not only would we struggle to feed, contain or control that many P.O.W's but also because it would incite the rest of their tribe to fight us.

The primary reason we are attacking is to free those pink's willing to escape, not to mention to get the Lumpur to leave our people alone, preferably without conflict.

Thus the plan is to primarily have our troops move in along the river, equipped with bows and with their boats filled with tribute and with weapons mounted on the side (for protection) and our dogs sitting inside (also for protection).

While we are transferring the tribute to the Lumpur the willing Pink tribe members will attempt to covertly move to the north/western side of their village.

There we will have someone waiting to take them to a few hidden boats manned by the rest of the tribe. They will then head back to our village and get them settled in.

At this time our "tribute" party should be leaving and thus we take all of those willing to come while not losing a single soul.

Assuming we need a better distraction, I would suggest we challenge their leader to combat with our best warrior (of those whom would be willing Illeo is the best.). That would presumably gather most if not all of their tribe to watch.
>>
>>195446
I forgot to mention, if things go to shit and they begin to attack then they can defend themselves by paddling away from the shore and maintaining fire with their bows.

As to how we know which members of the Pinks would be willing to come, we had conversation with them, surely we can establish this again.

As to what we will do this turn; I would like for us to develop "fire arrows" and for everyone, even those not involved in the attack, to train using all of our weapons whilst wearing our best armour.
>>
>>195446
>While we are transferring the tribute to the Lumpur the willing Pink tribe members will attempt to covertly move to the north/western side of their village.
>There we will have someone waiting to take them to a few hidden boats manned by the rest of the tribe. They will then head back to our village and get them settled in.

I'll say beforehand that this part of the plan is not really possible since you have no way of coordinating with the pinks, let alone the "friendly" ones.
>>
>>195465
>surely we can establish this again.

Not so much. After two failed attempts at this, you'd be lucky if the Lumpur let you back in their village, and certainly wouldn't permit you to talk to the pinks there.
>>
>>195471
Then then do most of the plan, Building big boats to have soldiers, wolves along with fire bombs and leather shilds for everyone.

But when it come the northwest side have the nomad and the other fighter flank around stealing anything valuable, killing any real fighters with posin darts and setting fire to where they keep their weapons and gear.
>>
>>195471
>>195478
Well damn, plan B or C then.

Plan B) We are outright going there prepared for combat. We will attempt to capture any of the Pinks we know are willing to come with us before retreating. attempting to sabotage all of their boats and such as we go.

Plan C) We will challenge their leader to combat, both to stop having to pay tribute and also to let the pinks go. If he refuses go to plan B (maybe?).
>>
>>195500
I should mention I am in favour of plan C followed, if met by failure, by plan B.
>>
>>195492
This is a day to day timeframe currently, so you don't have time to make big improvements. You decide though to approach the Lumpur on two fronts, from the north and from the shore.

>>195500
By the afternoon of the next day, you make the approach fully armed and looking to make a statement. Just for the hell of it and to avoid trouble with the other prisoners, you also bring the plains raider along, though tied up still. When you arrive by shore, it isn't long before you are met by the Lumpur in their own display of force, and they can assume what happened to the tribute party.

You do make an effort to challenge them to a duel though, their chosen against yours. Naturally their chieftain stands to the task, and after stating your demands that you want the tribute to cease and to let the pinks go, he states his. That if you lose, the Lumpur get to take any males of the Sanger tribe prisoner. An odd request but he laughs knowingly before saying this, probably realizing the severe gender disparity in your group. He doesn't need to defeat your tribe, if he can take from you the few men and prevent you from making it beyond your current generation. On just the basis of terms though, yours are a lot more steep than his so he's able to maintain the high ground in this regard.

>Do you accept these terms, and if so who do you put forward as a champion?
>>
>>195550
How numerous is there group?

If significantly larger go through with it. If not then state that open combat will be good enough.

Does anyone disagree?
>>
Goodbye, need to go to a party, best of luck to our champion and all that.
>>
>>195550
Yeah accept those term, but it has to be a one on one fight with the chief.
>But if we kill the chief, our shaman will take power.
>Let Illeo take him on, not only to prove we are better them the Lumpur but even our women can hold their own.
>>
>>195557

Their combat force consists of 16 people, 9 men and 7 women. Meanwhile yours consists of 9, 3 men and 6 women, as well as 5 wolves. You also have the smaller party hidden to the north of the village, of 3 people.

>>195575

They don't agree since it's not supposed to be a fight to the death. Even if it were, one of the other warriors would take over.

You put Illeo up to the task and though she makes a good effort, probably the second best of anyone among your present group, the chieftain does end up beating her down. With a cheer all around from their group, the chieftain slings Illeo over his shoulder and then asks how you would like to concede to their demands as the losers.
>>
>>195614
Pride will destroy a nation man.
Illeo has to do this for the tribe, tell her to think about how we're what left of our tribe.
>Tell Illeo to fight till KO or submission.
>she has to fight long enough for the second party to flank behind and enough time for the sleeping darts effect to set
>Have the other 3 to sneak through the town hiding behind the force ready to attack with fire bomb if she losses.
>while hiding try to shot members of they force with sleeping dart, starting with women and working up.
>>
>>195614
no duel
>>
>>195791
Illeo already lost the duel, that was the point of the post and why the chieftain is now asking how you want to settle the losing terms.

As for the other things, I said you all are placing too much faith in the sleeping darts, they take an hour or two to take effect. Poison would work quicker, but still around 15-30 minutes and would kill.

And as for the sneaking group, they'll easily get caught trying to make their way through the village, it's the middle of the day.

>>195829
Was already voted in favor here >>195557
>>195575
>>
>>195870
Then Fuck it.
>Illeo cheap shoot shit the chief, sick wolves on the on the weaker targets to get quick kills while hurling fire bombs at the higher ranking people.
>Make sure the chief does first.
>The group of three start fires all around the village and try to hit places where it will spread.
>once the fire is started rush behind the main force.
>>
>>195890
Make a defensive line where spear wall is in front while the archers behind throw fire bombs, poison dart and arrows all aimed for the head or upper torso.
>>
>>195890
>>195918

You decide to say fuck it, the duel custom is stupid anyway. Illeo is out of it from losing the duel but after a number of arrows the chieftain retreats with her, leaving the rest of Lumpur force to fight. Lining up you make a spear line in front and a ranged unit behind. As the Lumpur charge, you also sic the wolves when they get close.

A fierce battle ensues and though heavily outnumbered, your training and superior arms grant you a significant benefit. After the most bitter of the fighting, ten of their number lie dead or defeated on the shore while the other six retreat with the chieftain. Of your number though, two are severely injured as well as three of the wolves.

During this time about, the second group makes their way into the village from the north to find most of the Lumpur non-combatants having retreated to their homes and many of the pink captives fleeing altogether. They do note though the chieftain having retreated to his hut up on the ravine, with about six others soon joining him.

>How to proceed?
>>
>>195890
>>195918
I'm sure we can win, we have suits of leather armor, shields, better spears, fire bombs, poison dart and arrows with a flanking force and wolves.
>We just have to take out the chief and the rest will crumble.
>Meta:Someone help me plz
>>
>>195965
Send the keep the injured at the boat and start treating them but keep them up right to be a sentry with arrows and wolves.
Send the rest with to meet up the other 3, all being carful and making sure not to get hurt.
>Once they meet up tell the chief to submit or burn!
>If they come out with their hand up kill the subjects and keep the chief.
>If they come out fighting form up with defnsive line with fire bombs flying.
>>
>>195993
Of the injured you have some to remain behind while the rest meet up with the rear party, and then head on to the huts up on the ridge.

It looks like the chieftain has held up there with his three warriors and three of the survivors from the beach conflict. When your group approaches though, the three average fighters either injured or afraid after the beach conflict, either flee or surrender.

Thus remain the three proper warriors and the chieftain whom has Illeo who is now concious and is threatening her with the stone knife you traded to them long ago. They refuse to stand down however.

>Any caution in proceeding, or go ahead as planned here >>195993 ?
>>
>>196030
Shit Fuck.
Alright, say we will leave and not come back if you acknowledge that we do not need you and stop your tribute of our and the pink tribe.
>You can admit we are strong and we don't need you, we won't attack you again but we will need war reparations.
>If they won't pay just accept no longer being under them.

Stay on guard though incase of counter attack and if Illeo can get the knife and kill the chief.
>>
>>196104
Wait no, Illeo shouldn't do anything.
>Get out Illeo out safe.
>We're here to prove something.
>>
>>196104
As the two sides stand off, you attempt to negotiate with the chief. He resolves that your tribe is capable, and to defeat his entails that the tribute ends and that reparations are paid to you.

However, he demands that you honor the terms of the duel that he won. The fighting he can forgive, even the killing, but not the violation of the tradition and custom of the duel that took place. You can have your terms, but he wants his.
>>
>>196171
Tell him the fight was not fair to begin, with the tribut we could make a good enough warrior having to rely so discipline formation and better tech.
>If he lets her go, we will promise not to attack you again unless provoked and we are willing to start a trading agreement.
>We both will put this behind our tribes and start anew.
>>
>>196184
After some consideration and a heated argument with the other warriors, the chieftain finally accepts your terms, except to let Illeo go. He says he's got to have something out of the duel, even if it's just symbolic. If he doesn't then the Lumpur will see that as him more or less spitting on tradition and then he won't be able to maintain his position. Everything else you said he begrudgingly accepts, including putting the troubles behind you. This though he won't budge on, even though Illeo is clearly not accepting or happy with the idea.

>What to do? One person for forgiveness of the conflict?
>>
>>196209
Alright we are making progress.
I think we should force friendship on them, they will hate us for awhile but if they stay cool we will be cool too.
>Tell him, we will heal his injured and make sure he is still in charge of Lumpur but he has to promise to not attack us and leave pink alone.
>However, this will only happen if he gives us Illeo and to sweeten the deal, we will promise if they get acttacked we will help if you're whole tribe is at risk.
>>
>>196232
Oh yeah, and say we will kill the tribute party if he kills Illeo or we will keep them if he keep her.
>>
>>196232
>>196249
He actually says he can do without all that, and you can keep the tribute party, but he's keeping her.

Again, he's adamant on this.
>>
>>196269
Ugggh this fucker alright, tell him we will leave Illeo with the Lumpur a few months untill winter.
>When winter comes we will give back your people and we get Illeo back.
>But Illeo should try to escape and get the island thing to help her get away after awhile.
>>
>>196283
You concede and stand down, as do his warriors. Illeo begs you not to do this and curses you when you leave her. You part ways, returning to the beach, various non-combatants of the Lumpur watching you from their huts as you pass through.

When you return to the shore, you make a count of who's who and what's what. Of the defeated who won't die from their injuries, you managed to take three men (one of them Leona's husband) and six women prisoner.

Pipin while tending to the injured wolves wants to know where Illeo is when you return, and explain the situation to everyone. No one is happy with it, and confidence/trust in Uru who'd been heading the effort here decreases for everyone. The plains raider meanwhile who had been tied up this whole time and not let loose yet, merely laughs and sarcastically congratulates you, saying you must feel pretty good about leaving the chieftain and his supporters alive, and abandoning one of your core group members.

>What to do now? You can return with everyone to the fort including with the prisoners to rest and recuperate, take care of any unfinished business you have here in the Lumpur village, or whatever else.
>>
>>196323
Have a meeting telling eveyone what happened, trying to recuperate from the Battle and getting the feelings, skills and status of everyone.
>Start making a plan to get her back under the cover of night, even if they try to get her back we can defend against them.

Have everyone Enforce plains speak on the new Lumpur people, making the learn writing as well when not working
>Start build cabins and clearing area all in a organized patter with a grave road connecting everything.

Pip and Rowena need to tend to the injured and start breeding animals again.
>Have Rowena make some kind of herb to make them more virile and prone to breeding.

Uru, Faun and Vegita need to work on keeping the sadle on the horse and make the reins better.
>Uru says he ashamed about leaving Illeo but he knows it isn't forever and he will get her back, he has to.

Apar, Leona and the Raider girls with the captive Lumpur should chop trees, Make gravel and help build up the town outside of the fort.
>Start build house for our new citizens and make them start hunt as well.

Have Pip go to the island and tell the stranger about what happened to Illeo and see if it will help.
>Bring the thing wine and honey to show who he means .
>>
>>195009
>1) Who says they can't contribute to hunting, refining (making clay goods and such) and gathering, considering we have used Lumpur slaves for such purposes without any trouble.
They aren't suppose to be there, and remain hidden, being active out and about is not hidden. They will eventually take notice of obvious signs, especially if we send them out to fish in the lake.

>2) As of this moment in time, we have such a large production of resources that we are actively filling our store rooms with everything but building materials. Mostly cause we gather them as they are needed. This has been stated by OP. Therefore we can with a good degree of certainty support them with them preforming as outlined in point one.

>1) They are suppressing two tribes besides us, not three. Though my memory could be failing me.
>Typo, other shouldn't be there and we are included in the 3
2) I don't know where you are getting that "holding hostages" bit, would you mind explaining?
>>190677
>They make clear though that the dynamic may have changed, when they politely kidnapped most of the pink tribe. When asked about how best to improve relations and sway people to joining, they say it might be hard since the people are accepting of their lives and even if the chief and the warriors were killed, they'd probably rather remain independent and just seek your tribe's protection rather than the other way around. The only surefire way to get them to join would be to force them, or if they lost their livelihood. Even then, a fair amount would probably flee rather than join up, so all in all it's a difficult situation.

pt1 out of 5?
>>
>>196661
3) You are entirely correct that they take our resources to keep us down but not because they think we can outgrow them. Rather they think we would hire mercenaries to fight them for us. Which to be frank we could easily do.

>>162999
>Pips also asks Coda about her role in all this, to which she admits she feels bad about. It's been a regular thing that her tribe sort of acts like a bully in the region around the lake, and there are two other groups besides yours (purple probably being one of them) whom they exact tribute from in order for protection. However, she had no idea that telling them of her lavish treatment by your group would lead them to being so harsh with their actions. She attributes a lot of the blame to the cheiftain, who upon hearing the stories, worries that your small group may outperform his own in terms of supplies and goods, and that you might be able to overcome the oranges (by convincing other tribes to rise up, by paying off warriors to fight for you, etc...) which obviously isn't acceptable under his watch.

>Basically it seems that the tribute effort to you, has been so harsh out of an intent to put you into place and get an idea of what you're capable of. If you really are a threat then they seek to clip your wings through tribute, if you aren't, then they just want to maintain the status quo whereby they are the dominant tribe in the region of the lake.

They would scale the tribute amount to make sure we are paying a ratio to our abilities and power/production. Not only to stop us from paying people to get rid of them but also to ensure we are under their "control"

I not sure if i need to respodn to number 4, seems like a general statement.

Not arguing against increasing our numbers, just the pink din't see mto want to join us, and don't want to upset the lumpur. They are also not very willin gto fight or really even defend themselves it seems

>2) The reason they don't fight back is they feel indebted to the Lumpur after they once saved them from an attack. If we can convince them the Lumpur are morally wrong the problem will resolve itself.
We already tried to sway them, I doubt trying for a morality argument "they are wrong so give up them protecting you and attack them with us", is going to really work.

I think it refers to trade, the last part mostly.

The problem is they will scale our tribute to our success and perceived threat. If we refuse them, they will bring force, no doubt about it. Even if we massively outclass them, they will simple seek about indirect ways to bring us down like we were planning.

Try and see if from their pov, We come and upset their balance of power, so if we somehow refuse them without them attacking us right away, they may take it out on the other tribes by increasing tribute or forced assimilation of pink to buff their numbers.

What message would it send to others if or when they see us resisting their hegemony? They don't want their place in the food chain challenged or replaced. They will see us as a threat which they made measures to try and prevent. Seeing as the tribute failed to do exactly just that, then what is the other option? Through force. Physical violence, to enforce their will. And it could very well mean our extinction.

The people alive today in our world, are only alive because our ancestors were brutal, violent, willing to take risk and willing to do whatever it took to survive.

It may be possible that given enough time and attempts she could conceive and maybe even not miscarry. Though to get to that point, would take a lot of effort by both parties involved. Be aware that Ill herself believes she is cursed after being treated that way by the tribe, so is reluctant to try bear children not only because of it being a sore memory for her.

So... consult a witch doctor or something, or that lady on the island?

>1) I am not pussyfooting around, for instance I was one of the first advocates of conflict with Lumpur.
A stance that you changed. Doing this to fight them eventually, but then drifted to avoid fighting them at all, Hoping they will just decided to leave us alone. I feel that meets the definition of pussyfooting. Not really saying it as a personal insult, just your changing non-committed stances which I find a bit annoying.
>Secondly on that point, I do threaten conflict with them in stage 6 of my plan. I don't fear war except when I know it can be avoided without great loss.
We had been preparing to fight them for over a year, with lots of training and weapons to replace equipment attrition. We can take them so long as we don't expose ourselves to too many of them at once, and use environmental (traps, terrain, making them come to us across the lake onto our well defended beachhead and then fort, then cave), tactics, and keeping our distance.

>2) My plans risk our survival chance? What about the plan of starting a fire in the middle of their village, what about that one? That is entirely insane!
To burn down the chieftains tent and defenses, weapons and supplies. And hopefully it would spook them while we wear our bone armor. What is insane about it? It would be insane if I opted to burn the whole forest down.... Don't be giving me ideas now....

Force the tributes to stop completely.
Kill the chieftain and make a change of leadership.
Make it clear to them our grievances and reasons for war, and our desire for peace.

-Optional:
Absorb or destroy their tribe.
Ensure if not to destroy, then provide a one time gift of material assistance in their survival.

Keeping prisoners alive may score us good will brownie points, to allow them to continue living may get them to join us slowly overtime. And at the very least, not hold to much of a grudge against us.

Mate, as enjoyable as debating this back and forth, stretching the mental muscles so to speak, is. I must state that the usability of the plan has, sadly, passed.

The pinks fled while we fought the Lumpur, chances are back to their own tribe. However this does mean if we make contact with them, they might think of us like the new Lumpur. In which case the part about getting them to join us would be easier to perform.

We must stop debating over past possibilities and start planing for future probabilities. Though debating plans of action, together, to both decide on a plan and to eliminate flaws can't backfire and thus I thank you for taking the time to respond to my posts.

>>
>>196726
You raise some valid points.

As to your point about all those they have written off as dead, we should still mention to them those who are alive. It might attract one or two more and would certainly reduce their dislike of our people.

I have no opinion as to the POW's but think we should keep them until the return date of the beginning of winter (which is when we get the Illeo back also as stated in >>196283 which OP responded to). Primarily to perform manual labour, to expand our farms and storehouses.

I feel sorry for writing as much as I did but honestly I felt we had more time to debate than we did.

>>196738
The chief is still alive and able to scare or force his will onto them...... Actually, we can use that. Point out that we no longer have to pay tribute, they probably still do. If they joined us they would not have to pay tribute. Point out how badly we beat the lumpur with only one loss, no dead.

I guess since tribute is over, we can start doing monthly time passes.

I want to know if we can do the people trade thing with POWs and sending the raider girl as a slave, it needs to be symbolic right? So long as we perform and put on a good dog and pony show. And not to mention the effect to remaining lumpur due to their low numbers,
returning a wife thought dead would maybe make some of the Lumpur happy. we keep the pink tribe members and the forest raider girls. Not the plains raider woman.
>>
>>196851
Rick knows some med stuff, he can help with the wounded. He can also work on the production of alcohol as that is an important resource.

Everyone else can be set to modernising our fortifications, traps, expanding our farms, store houses and lastly expanding our path network.

Wasn't so bad, only 2 things I'm upset with Illeo challenging the chief, and the poor negotiations regarding her when we had him cornered. He had little to no negotiation power, and was desperate.

I think we should manage our traps better, I'm worried about some of the newer faces, since I doubt they would know where all the traps are. We ought to place them around our future paths we build, and in areas attack or raider parties may come from. This way we can minimize the risks to them harming innocent people passing by and concentrating them were we need them, instead of thinly spread out.

Alright, before you go you tell Leona's husband to find their daughter and bring her along.

>>196377
You return to the fort, in the end the two injured members of your group were able to recover (the largest benefit being the armor) but not two of the wolves. A meeting is held and you bring everyone to it, where there is a lot of surprise but also a lot of rejoicing to learn about the fates of various people thought to be dead.

It is explained to everyone what happened and what the situation is, and how you have come to dominate over the Lumpur. Perhaps unsurprisingly though, because you didn't fully destroy the tribe or the chieftain and his lot, a number of them want to go back since they still identify as "Lumpur" which you didn't destroy.

It looks like the general idea though is to keep them, which means if they would rather go back home then you are making slaves out of them. I'll assume though that you're fine with letting pink tribe prisoners go. As such you end up with one remaining male prisoner, and six female prisoners. Leona reunites with her husband and daughter and together the decide to agree to stay.

Ongoing duties can proceed after this, and you even have some new houses to keep the prisoners, though they will need guarding obviously.

>>196858
If you want, you can try to redo the duel with the leader using the plains raider, in exchange for Illeo. After everything that happened, he really could use a show of success for his remaining people.
>>
>>197386
Sorry a bit of confusion. The post you linked to when you concluded conversation with the Lumpur leader had us gain Illeo at the beginning of winter, did you link to the wrong post or is that still happening?

I would also ask as to whom we would be taking prisoner. Any one important or just those from the tribute party we killed before the confrontation?
>>
>>197404
I keep hearing this mention of some exchange taking place during winter, that was never agreed to by the chieftain. He's keeping Illeo permanently to do with as he pleases as a result of the duel he won. In exchange, he'll forgive what happened and cease the tribute and such. Because of this though he's not expecting the tribute party survivors back, and he doesn't know there were any survivors of the beach battle, whom you also took back.

Who you took prisoner, no one super important just more common folk of the Lumpur who were made to fight. The people of biggest importance, the chieftain and the warriors, were left alive.

>>196377

That night and worried for Illeo's sake, Pipin feels he can't depend on or trust anyone in the tribe, especially not after Uru's betrayal. As such, as desperate as he is he turns to the only one he can... her.

That night he sneaks off to the island with various treats like wine, in the hopes that it will draw her attention long enough that he might somehow communicate with her.

After landing he looks around for awhile by torchlight, and thinks to check the burial mound since that seemed to be where the Stranger approached from last time he was here. While pacing about the main burial chamber though, perhaps too late and to his extreme fright he sees her approach him from the entrance of the tomb through the darkness, having to lower her head a bit so she doesn't bang it on the ceiling.

She seems to already know it's him because she exclaims loudly and angrily as she approaches. Pipin tries to react and present the gifts to her, but she's faster than him and grabbing ahold of him slams him against wall. Grabbing him by the neck she proceeds to lift him up, continuing to speak angrily at him in her language as his feet dangle. Fearing for his life, Pipin's mind races.

>What to do?
>>
>>197450
Say you know where Illeo is and that she needs help, assuming she doesn't continue to try to attack you then explain in greater detail.
>>
>>197450
Just keep yelling "Illeo needs help."
>The stranger as a basic understanding so she should know those 3 words.
>>
>>197468

In his fear and believing his death is imminent, Pipin just starts talking about his reasoning for coming here and about Illeo being in danger and needing help. He can't make out the Stranger's face behind the mask, but if he had to guess, based on her body language it looked like something he said banished her anger if only for a moment.

"Where is Illeomi? Is she hurt?"

Pipin's heart stills as he hears her unmistakably respond. He'd said what he did in fear, without thinking much, but to actually hear her answer back was unsettling to say the least. In his fear and hesitation though, her patience doesn't hold up as she pushes him down on the stone table and asks again. At that he does respond, and tries to explain the situation as best he can, that she is being held prisoner to a rival chieftain. The Stranger is clearly worried but hesitant to answer when Pipin asks for her help, responding something about being imprisoned the last time "they" dealt with humans. Eventually she asks what Pipin thinks will happen to Illeo if left, to which he responds his honest beliefs. Finally letting go of him, she says she can help, if he can open the stone sarcophagus in the burial chamber with or for her. She'd tried to do so with Illeo before but they couldn't manage, and the same with Pipin they can't manage.

She says what Pipin already knows, that more people would be needed to do it. She says if need be she can hide so that he can bring more people over to open and leave it open for her, and then she can handle the rest.

>What to do? Pipin doesn't think he can get that sort of help that night, but the Stranger does offer to let him stay the night, such that he might better explain to her what happened and what she would need to do.
>>
>>197523
Tell her you'll go get more people once you have a quick conversation the War and the dual and shit.
>After telling her what happened to get more people to come open the tomb.
>Get some raider girls who don't give a Fuck about the island and curses.
>>
>>197558
Oh and Pip should tell Uru about it. So he can help to make it up to Illeo for leaving her behind.
>When Pip say he left Illeo he dies a little bit inside.
>>
>>197523
Sure, hell we can get a stone coffin open with a little creativity, or brute force and lots of broken tools.

I would like for him to outline to her that she should primarily be focused on getting Illeo out without it being linked to us. So they don't try to get her back from us.

Alternatively she could eliminate their chief and they might just not care if she was also gone if she made it seem like an animal or something. Hell they might not care either way.

Lastly she could just get Illeo out and do nothing more but that might result in either a revolution amongst the Lumpur which seems like a bad thing or in them going to war with us.

(Amazingly using the supernatural was my plan B for dealing with the Illeo problem. The other, plan A, was to pay a ransom.)
>>
>>197558
>>197564

Pipin agrees to stay the night hoping to smooth things over and better convince her to help, to which the Stranger invites him back to her cave. Along the way he says he'll try to get the help of those in the tribe who aren't greatly afraid of the island to open the sarcophagus the next day. Once in the cave the Stranger sits with him on a big bed so that he may better explain the situation with the Lumpur and the war that happened. She doesn't seem surprised or judgmental about it, and only asks why it wasn't done sooner.

They talk for awhile until Pipin starts to pass out from the day's toll, the Stranger noticing. Helping him up, she undresses him and then does the same herself before laying down to bed with him. It's an unexpected and uncomfortable, embarrassing situation for Pipin to suddenly be together in their undergarments like that, laying in bed in her arms. It's also the first time he sees what she looks like under the mask though, which greatly overshadows the discomfort he feels falling asleep with her.

---

The next day while all the logistics of the prisoners and the situation with the Lumpur boil among the group, Pipin says he'll go on a peach collecting run to the island and gets the help of some to go with him. The nomad man and his wife, as well as the two forest raider women. Together while collecting fruit, he brings up Illeo and says he knows something they can do that would be meaningful to her that would help her get through the hard time with the Lumpur. Talking about the ring she had, he manages to convince them to help him go to the burial mound and open the sarcophagus. For the others it's a weird and perhaps disturbing experience, more or less tomb raiding, but they don't have any latent understanding or fear of the place.

After a lot of struggle they do manage to pry the lid of the sarcophagus off, casting it to the floor. They find inside a rather well-preserved body which causes alarm and disgust among them, but Pipin pretends to grab some trinket from the coffin and claim that will do. He does notice in the coffin though but didn't dare to touch, some old dusty weapons. After that they finish collecting the peaches and Pipin asks them not to talk to anyone about the burial mound, which isn't hard as they understand how upset Lumpur people get when hearing about it.

When they return, Pipin also tells Uru he's going to help Illeo but doesn't trust him enough to tell him how. Simply that, he's doing what Uru couldn't or wouldn't.

Cont.
>>
>>197619

That night Pipin returns to the island on his own, and after wandering around finds the Stranger outside the burial mound, sitting and working on something. When he gets nearer and they acknowledge one another, he immediately notices the gleam of the objects she is working on, and comes to realize they are the weapons from the sarcophagus earlier. A spear, a sword, and a shield, all appropriate to her size rather than the inhabitant of the coffin. The way they gleam in the light of the torch, he's never seen anything like it, but you the player would recognize them as bronze.

Explaining to her the finer details of Illeo's situation with the chieftain, Pipin hopes to convey the idea of the Stranger not making herself known or apparent. She silences his fears and tells him she's not so stupid to make that mistake again. Once she feels the equipment is properly cleaned and ready, she asks Pipin to take her by boat to the shore nearby the Lumpur camp.

The boat ride over is a silent one, and the Stranger seems occupied the way over with whispering in some form of meditation, which Pipin dares not interrupt. Eventually they land about half a mile upshore from the Lumpur village, the fires of it visible in the distance.

>What do? Maddemoena the Stranger is now, at lest for the time being, able to be given actions/orders as if she were a member of the tribe. Pipin as well, of course.
>>
>>197657
Pip should stay in the boat/hidden while Madde goes and does the deed.
>Have her sneak behind houses and in bushes trying to get to chiefs house on the ridge with out being seen.

>>

>>
>>197682
>>197714

Before she goes, Pipin asks her to avoid killing and leaving signs of her passing as much as possible, to which she tells him to wait with the boat.

---

Madde makes her way to the village, hugging the treeline as she goes, able to move among and between trees, through and along bushes with silent grace. Pacing back and forth along the treeline for awhile, she eventually finds the closest she can get, to a side of the village that isn't being used. Her exceptional senses are a great help, able to hear and smell any close huts if they are occupied, and well able to see the chieftain's hut on the ridge.

With similar practiced stealth she leaves the treeline and under cover of darkness makes her way among the camp. Her heart begins to beat faster, both from the activity, but also a little from stress, fear even. She isn't aware how long it's been since she was last in a human settlement, near so many people. She only remembers how badly it ended last time, and resolves not to let it happen again. Despite her great height, she crouches low as she passes between huts and stopping behind them, hearing and smelling any people occupying the huts or the few people still awake and milling about.

Continuing to traipse through without a noise, she makes her way around the ridge, and in a vigorous dash she clears the distance where there is nothing to hide behind till she reaches the collection of larger huts up on the ridge. Stopping to listen she notices who is where, and which huts are occupied, particularly the chieftains hut. Before making her move, she stands to her full height for just a moment to make sure she can still see Pipin's boat in the distance, alone with his torch and failed attempt to conceal it.

Passing her way among the huts and even through the currently empty ones, stopping when someone happens past, she finally makes her way to the side of the chieftains tent. Listening and smelling she can make out three people inside, and makes an effort to cut a small hole in the wall. Peering about she sees the hut well adorned, confirming it to be the chieftains. She also notices the chieftain himself sitting and having a conversation with a woman, who Madde can tell to be quite physically capable. Last, after searching about for awhile she finally notices the faint breathing and bloody smell.

Illeo, strung up to one of the poles supporting the roof of the hut, severely injured and unconscious. Blood is smelled, and she looks to have some sharp tools for fishing sticking out of her. She also detects the lingering scent of human medicines, and guesses that they have some sort of healer who is working to keep her alive, against what the chieftain and perhaps others are doing to her.

A great anger rises in Madde, but not at the Lumpur or even their chieftain. No, the burning rage she feels, is towards Illeo's tribe for leaving her to this fate.

>What to do?
>>
>>197845
Remember how I said if she needed to go loud she could, well that is now out of the window. Make that fucker suffer and get Illeo back to our camp, NOW!
>>
>>197845
Shit I didn't mean for that to happen.
>She should direct her anger to the captures and killing everyone in the room and making away with all the bodies, dumping the chief and others in the lake.
>Once Illeo is safe have Madde Demand to see the person who left her.
>Have her confront Uru about leaving her.
>>
>>197911
Eh Fuck it, once we get Illeo back, launch a secret attack the night, fire bombing the shit out of the tribe taking who ever is still alive as slaves.
>And I mean no mercy. No mercy.
>We're at the point of no return.
>Lumpur will be no more.
>The people will become our citizens and have to learn plains speak If they want to or not.
>The chiefs name will be a sewer work for shit eater.
>And being Uru mean you are a weakling or spineless.
>>
>>197897
>>197911

Madde doesn't care to contain herself any longer, and quickly approaching from around the back of the chieftain's tent, she enters in one swift motion and before she even notices her, knocks the warrior woman hard enough with her shield that she is sent flying and unconscious across the room. The chief only sees her sent flying and when he turns around, Madde has already grabbed his face to keep him from making noise and lifts him up in the air, struggling and making muffled screams in pure fear. This close, she can actually hear his heart rate, which brings to her a small feeling of enjoyment, remembering how afraid of her kind humans used to be. And apparently, that fear had not yet been forgotten.

>What to do with him, if you care to get into specifics? Otherwise she'll just kill him silently and see to Illeo about getting her out of there. Maybe event taking the warrior woman with them for later retribution.
>>
>>198020
Oh yeah I think I got this.
>First push you thrumbs in his eyes after you tear out his tongue.
>Yes tear.
>While he takes a second to feel his now hollow eye holes slice his Achilles tendons.
>Go kill the warrior girl and go release Illeo.
>Process to beat and stabe the chief.
>Before you kill him, strip him naked, cut off his penis and put it in his butt.

And then you know, get home, launch a attack to kill the rest of the Lumpur.
After that let Madde beat up Uru for leaving Illeo behind.
>Don't kill him, just a savage beating.
>>
>>198050
Madde breaks the chieftain's jaw before removing his tongue and then blinding him, all with her hands. She then maims him so he can't move, before carefully untying Illeo and putting the chieftain in her place. She then savagely beats him with the blunt end of her spear, before opening his guts in one swift swiping motion with the sharp end, leaving him to die while she tends to Illeo.

She tries to remove the fishing tools but in the process ends up properly looking her over and realizes she is much more seriously injured than just beaten or stabbed. She was tortured, in a bad way, and needs medical treatment or she won't survive the night. Probably the Lumpur shaman was to handle that, but his help can't be sought now.

Stowing her spear and shield on her back, Madde cradles Illeo in one arm while grabbing the warrior woman with her free hand (she has a plan for her) and dragging her by the leg. On the way down the hill she encounters one of the warrior men, but before he can raise any commotion she knocks him aside with the warrior woman by actually swinging her by the leg and hitting him with her whole body.

Other than that she manages to leave the village without further issue, and makes her way in the darkness along the short to the north, to return to Pipin. Along the way the warrior woman wakes up and starts to scream, but Madde once again just lifts her up like a ragdoll and swings her into the ground till she stops.

When she does return to Pipin, he is glad to see her at first, but freaks out when he sees Illeo and the state she is in. In a panic and even starting to cry, he tries to get her situated and once Madde is in the boat furiously tries to row back. The Stranger herself also takes a pair of oars and contributes to the rowing, increasing their speed by much more. In short order and a furious effort they reach the other side of the lake, where the fort is and most everyone sleeps, reaching the dock house.

>How to proceed with Illeo and organizing any retaliation effort against the Lumpur? Specifically, how if at all, should Madde be involved in this. Pipin already knows if she just waltzes into the fort with him, things will go very badly, but he's also not sure if she should go somewhere to just wait, if she should maybe return to the island, or something else? All he knows is he needs to act quick and get Illeo to Rick and his wife as fast as possible.

Lol it's okay OP.
Have Pip and the stranger carry the girl and Illeo to Rick to get help.
Get Madde to find Uru to beat him for leaving Illeo behind.
After the beating have Apar and the slaves demand retubion for Illeo!
>The final raid of Lumpur.
>Steal everything, burn down the building and enslave anyone still alive.
>Keep the top warriors alive to make an example out of them.
>Don't kill them quickly, let wolves fight over them in a pit.
>Anyone who wants to revolt will meet the same fate.
>Anyone who even talk about revolting will be beaten.

And make sure Madde doesn't leave Illeo ever again, always making sure she is safe.
>>
>>198301
And by Apar and thes slaves I mean any able body who wants loot, slaves and what ever you want from the Lumpur.
>>
>>198301
I don't agree with wiping them out but feel it may be needed. However we shouldn't seek to destroy them, rather to eliminate this corrupt government.
>>
>>198397
Nah, after a raid we are gonna take more people and they will want to go home to Lumpur.
>Crush their hope of going up by burning it to ash.
>When Illeo is healthy let her go take a dump on the ashes.
>>
>>198301

Pipin figures they don't have time to be subtle about the Stranger, but also has the good sense not to just lead her through town. As such, he gags the warrior woman, and then leads Madde to the back entrance of the cave. Together they go down through it into the interior of the cave, hoping to find Rick on his lonesome since the old man lives and sleeps up above in the tunnel behind the shrine.

Pipin manages to go ahead and wake him up and tell him help is needed, but tries to get him to stay calm and not to lose his shit over what he's about to see. Tired and grumpy he accepts to get Pipin to shut up, but still loses his shit and jolts wide awake when he sees the Stranger after Pipin calls her. He freaks out at Pipin and tries to run away, but they are able to get his attention to Illeo who he can quickly see needs medical attention. Pipin is able to convince him to just focus on that for now and forget about the Stranger till later, and even gets her to leave. At Rick's bidding he also runs to get his wife to help with Illeo, and with Madde gone now there's no risk of seeing her. Rowena is simply distraught over Illeo's condition and with Rick they struggle to stabilize and treat Illeo.

With that, Pipin gathers the heads of the tribe and brings them to the shrine where Illeo is moved. The sight of her condition by each of them, discards the initial curiosity of asking how Pipin got her back, and instead drives them to action as they go to rouse any the can, anyone they trust to this. They even bring the plains raider woman who seems giddy when she learns of what the plan is.

>What to do now? Attacking the Lumpur is obvious, but the question is how brutal are you going to be towards them? Will you treat the genders of the tribe differently? How about the children and elderly? An ugly business to have to think about, but this is probably the best time to be pragmatic about it and consider who you want to take with you and who you don't, who will be useful to the tribe and who won't.

>>198397

It's worth noting that after the loss of the tribute parties, the loss at the beach battle, and losing the captured pinks because of it, the Lumpur are weakened enough where if you eliminate the few remaining people at the top, that will already be a significant portion of the tribe.

Destroying them altogether might be a bit much, but by this point just capturing/forcing them to join you might be a mercy at this point. Also it may just help with all the prisoners you already have, if you leave nothing for them to return to.

Just a consideration, based on the current state of things.
>>
>>198432
Main priority:Keep Illeo alive.
>Second:Rally everyone to go to Lumpur with everyone tell them strip the town of everything vaulabe.
>Kill the warriors and anyone who fights.
>Take the children and elderly along with any man or woman who willing submits to our authority.
>Other then that, kill, burn and loot.
>>

Everyone who is able bodied and ready to commit, arms up and heads to the boats. Within the hour the group is on their way across the lake under darkness with a single goal in mind.

When they get there, the village already looks to be active, perhaps the chieftain was discovered? Either way the group lands, and sets about their grim retribution. A lot of pillaging, fighting, burning, and killing where it's needed. Many try to flee but are caught, some succeed in getting away, while some just give up or even fight expecting to die.

Finally the group makes it's way up the ridge to the chieftains hut where the two warrior men and some last resistance are holed up. By setting fire to the hillside they are forced out, where more of the same happens. Unfortunately one of the wolves is killed when set upon the remaining warrior men, but the plains raider says she'll take care of the rest. With a pair of small axes, she drops the first warrior guy at range with surprising accuracy while he's struggling with the wolves. After getting the thrown axe, she repeats the process with the last warrior guy, planting both thrown axes in his shoulders and going for his legs with the weapon he dropped but keeping him alive. Lastly, she looks over to the burning hut and runs up to it, jumping through the fire. She's heard to scream some from inside but promptly returns, running and jumping out just as she went in. A little burned here and there but nothing too serious, she holds in her hand the chieftain's head and the stone dagger.

The aftermath isn't too pretty, but would you expect it to be? The severely injured are put to rest while bodies of the dead are gathered and buried, other goods collected along with the surviving captured. They beg and plead for their lives, perhaps a point of dark comedy that there isn't anything to say about raping as your attacking group is the vast majority female.

It comes to be that in the early hours you finish what you set out to do, with the last of the Lumpur either dead or unaccounted for, probably having fled. Gathering the survivors and the valuable remains of their village and culture, you return by boat with all of it and reach the docks at sunrise. The spoils are channeled to the cave to be kept prisoner for now, while the few rested who did not participate are made to stand guard. There are no celebrations yet, just a silent sense of accomplishment as everyone returns to their beds for a well-deserved sleep.

Well, almost everyone. Pipin convinces Uru to help him with one last thing as he leads him out of the fort along the shore to the north. Eventually Uru gets fed up being led nowhere in particular, but Pipin knows when he's gone far enough when the Stranger approaches and hands to him the warrior woman still gagged and tied. Uru immediately loses his shit at the sight, screaming and fleeing back to the fort. Madde quickly catches him though, and makes sure he understands the reason in his language as best she can, as to why she is going to do what she is to him. Right up till she stats he still has some hope that it won't go badly, until she starts, and doesn't let up for quite some time, long after he's all screamed out. She finishes the job by drawing the fishing tools used to torture Illeo. She's not sure how they were used like they were, but she knows how they were found, and proceeds to stab the few tools into Uru and leave in him like they'd been left in Illeo.

With that she returns to standing and kicks him one last time to knock him out, before returning to Pipin and taking the warrior woman from him.

>What to do? The night has gone, and the Lumpur with it. For now though, Pipin needs to figure out what to do with Madde, before he can return and assist the tribe in moving forward.

I say leave it for awhile, let Illeo rest with Rick and Madde while everyone, excluding Uru, should get back to work.

Is the Raider girl now on our side and is Madde now staying with us?

But besides that, Apar with the Raider girls should tell everyone Lumpur is no more, that all the old Lumpur citizens have no where to go back to.
>Don't let anyone leave though now there is not Lumpur they will accept life her more.

Vegita, Faun and Pip should all work on the better knowing how to use and ride a horse.
>Training to ride with out a saddle and trying to get the saddle to stay on.

After that have Apar and the Raider girls lead the slaves out to start chopping trees and clearing land for more housing.
>Send a few to clear a road, clear square plots and make gravel for the roads.

Rowena and Rick should make bigger gardens for more herbs and specialized plants.

All the free people and Lumpur should start fishing and hunting to stock pile our food.
>Teach some new Lumpur the art of smoking and preserving meat.
>Teach once how to skin and ran hides from Vegita.
>Have the one herb girls really become a apprentices of Rowena and Rick.

You could address players outside of story/progress posts. Like a pause in the game while we talk and speak with the DM as if we were playing DnD.

>A great anger rises in Madde, but not at the Lumpur or even their chieftain. No, the burning rage she feels, is towards Illeo's tribe for leaving her to this fate.

To be frank, we handled the hostage situation with Illeo well. I am rather unhappy with Madde's behaviour towards our tribe (although i understand why she did what she did), I mean if we had tried to rescue her we would have gotten her killed.
>>
>>200453
Eh, it was easier to let her get the whole rage thing out and the whole tribe felt like it was his fault that she was left.
>And it's not like he's dead.

>>
>>200504
If we were playing as Uru as the MPC then i can understand but we play a whole tribe collectively.

We weren't even playing as Uru directly as the leader calling the shots, but if we did then, hell we could have even went into Illeo's pov and played as her.

>>200504
No, we didn't. He wanted something symbolic, it could have been the plains raider girl, or the lumpur prisoners we had at the camp, even both. Or not have challenged the chief to duel in what he was good at and we've probably never done before.

>>200516
>Eh, it was easier to let her get the whole rage thing out and the whole tribe felt like it was his fault that she was left.
>felt like it was his fault

There needs to be some changes, namely, run time for the QM to post, and to not let so many actions be decided by one vote. It sets a bad precedent.
>>
>>200615
Well, you're right.
Hard choices had to be made and yeah it didn't get perfect results but Rick and them can be in charge while Uru is healing.
>Plus he will most likely be okay with the beating once he finds out why he was beaten.

Idk, now there is no Lumpur, we have 3x the people, we have everyone back and the witch is clam and Illeo and Uru are hurt but alive and healing.
Plus, we are enforcing plains speak and shit on the now homeless Lumpur so they are here to stay.
>But Yeah really, you're pretty much right on most if not accounts that we could have gotten better results.
>I'm not trying to prove you wrong but we didn't lose much.
>>
>>200679
Ugh, can we pretend before we left, the chiefs hut that we threatened retribution if anything bad happened to Illeo?

>>198728
As for the plains raider girl, we should reward her a bit I suppose. Make her a sexy sadistic prison wardeness of the lumpur captors to break and keep in line, while we treat them like second class slave/citizens. Until we break them of their language and culture to assimilate into us, and accept us and our ways, with some of their ways mixed in. This way we don't get too diluted, and they assimilate better. We also make sure that all the men from our tribe impregnate all the lumpur women, except for the one or two lumpur POWs, that seemed to like it here from the first tribute party we hit.

We also go to the pink tribe asking for men looking for wives to impregnate some of the lumpur women. I'm sure some of them would delight in the fact that this is some way of retribution for them. And some may decide to stay because of this.
>>
>>200679
Now we work on our project to become a city and to just continue learning our way ahead of everyone else.

>>200723
That is a terrible idea, the majority of the Lumpur tribes people have been stated previously to basically only exist as a people so long as their village did. Since it is gone we have no problem keeping control.

>At the end of the week everyone has to come to the temple and learn more plains speak, Nomad writing by reading scriptures.
>When they accept the plains culture then classes will be abolished but for now we need them.

Side thing:We need to make scribes a profession to make record history and teach others to read/write.
>>
>>200774
I don't disagree, they shall for now exist as a slave class. Culturally separated but treated as equals in most regards like food, housing and such.

I think our next few goals are;

1) Cultural unification

2) City building

3) Immigration

4) Teching out the ass
>>
>>200987
Now we wait for OP.
>>
>>200744
I want them to assimilate completely that their cultural and genetic memories are forgotten in future generations.

I feel that they should work to up being treated as equals, so that they will have a greater desire to become part of our tribe fully. I'm not sayings they should be abused at every corner, just given alot of incentive and motivation to "move on". I odds are, most of them will still be treated marginally better than they were in their old tribe.

I probably was making too much emphasis on the raider girl as a prisoner warden. I just want to direct her energy into something that can be used, since I don't know wtf we are gonna do with her now....

Well, generally my plan was to give her a seat on our council, arguing this is the closest position to a "chief" that we have, and making her a mix of head of the armed forces, training and the work relating to horses.
>>
>>201335
She has made no attempt to adapt to us or show signs of loyalty or commitment. She sees us all as weak (we kinda are) and feels she can rule us. She'd just end up like that lumpur chief. And you want to "trust" her with our defense, horses, which will probably act as a force multiplier for her, and the chance to form her own clique? With warriors that could give her the power for a coup? She has done very little aside from kill 2 enemy warriors for us. Odds are she killed alot more Sanger than that.

Pipin thanks the Stranger with a hug, though asks her why Illeo is important to her. She answers simply that Illeo was the one that woke her up, and was the first one to come to the island to spend time with her. He asks what she needs and if perhaps their tribe can help. She says she is reluctant to trust or be around many humans, and given how everyone has reacted to her so far, she is pretty sure you can't help her.

>>199839
Both Pipin and Madde decide it would not be a good idea for her to return to the fort. Interestingly she says she isn't opposed to the idea, but it would be too much a risk when everyone is afraid of her. Illeo is left to heal with Rick and Rowena though, with the rest being taken care of in time.

As for the plains raider, she is not uncooperative, but expects something going forward.

Comparatively, Uru wasn't hurt that bad, the worst was being stabbed and its not like they were proper knives.

>>200744
>Since it is gone we have no problem keeping control.

Correction, in that their village/physical tribe is gone. Their culture though and their identity, are not so easily destroyed, particularly when the men are still around. It's not like they're in open revolt, but they have become the majority and the Lumpur may yet continue indirectly as your tribe becomes them. When I do an update with the tribe numbers, you'll see why that's a problem.

>>201203
Making her in charge of something like assimilation is at least an effective outlet for her energy, that's for sure. She won't do work like everyone else but she'll do that.

>>201234
EST

>>201392
To be fair, now that the Lumpur and with them your biggest threat are gone, she realizes her demands are not as valid. She still wants to be in charge, but without some bigger enemy she can take down for credibility, her options are limited. For now she may settle with a leadership position and whipping people into line, so to speak.
>>
>>202783
Oh no, I am aware they hold a physical majority but most of the non-Lumpurian people have been pushed into our culture. Making it quite unlikely that we are going to shift to the Lumpur.

Though I have an idea if it is such a problem, we either;

1) Send them out to establish farmships which we recieve tribute from

2) Sell them into slavery with the purples

3) Send some of them to the pinks

4) Treat them like actual slaves rather than unwilling equals.
>>
>>202822
2) Sell them into slavery with the purples
hmmm, They did say they preferred men over women, unless they were very beautiful.

I'd agree with 2-4, I might go with 1 if we can modify it a bit or don't have to worry about them conspiring away from our eyes and ears.

Maybe if we have ones that accept our rule, but have trouble adapting to our culture and language we can do this to.

Also we should move our traps, don't want anyone we don' t want falling into them. In fact check all our traps to see if any hapless passerby's fell into them recently.
>>
>>203005

>I'm sure alot will just want to join us, those who willing accept our language and culture will be free people.
>Those who do not will be forced too by chains.
>They can prove loyalty and earn freedom, making sure they aren't mistreated as slaves, just supervised and forcibly taught plains speak and Nomad writing and math.

Also we should devolve songs to help people learn plains speak.
>>
>>203041
>>203049
I'm thinking keep the women, and sell off the problematic males into slavery. We can trade this for better agriculture knowledge, tools, and kills.
>>
>>203147
I think we should focus on developing a textile, food and alcohol industry so we can then trade for other things we want. Like horses, knowledge, etc.
>>
Alright so it took some figuring but this should represent the current breakdown;

Original tribe descent
5 = 4 male, 1 female

Of that, 1 is elderly.

Nomad descent
4 = 1 male, 3 female

Lumpur descent (including the ones having accepted life in the tribe, like Rowena)
25 = 8 male, 17 female

Of that, 5 are elderly (2 male, 3 female) and 7 are children (3 male, 4 female), and three of the women are pregnant.

Raiders
3 = 3 female

and 1 baby of mixed descent.

You let any pinks go when the war with the Lumpur was concluded, though there is the idea to go to them and seek more people, but will that idea remain the same given the current population?
>>
>>203198
Okay here is the plan, we sell all of them except the children (if they are younger than two), the pregnant woman (until they give birth) and three men.

This will leave their population for sometime at six then at three along with however many children they have under two years of age.
>>
>>203198
>Lumpur descent (including the ones having accepted life in the tribe, like Rowena)
>25 = 8 male, 17 female
Holy Sh** they have 25 guys? we killed like 16-17 of them previously.
>>
>>203198

So based on these numbers, I'm not sure of the population ratios, but there is a severe identity disparity among the tribe, with the heavy trend towards Lumpur culture and identity.

For now the main group, of Sanger descent are in charge and call the shots. If this many Lumpur though are integrated, they will invariably challenge the tribal identity, even if they all gladly accept their new lives and peacefully assimilate completely, which is unlikely. Even if you impose your culture and language on them by force, there are enough of them that they will learn your language and even speak it to you, but among themselves speak their own language and most importantly, teach and speak it to their children. As well, there are enough of them that their culture even if in secret, will persist into subsequent generations. Essentially, if measures are not taken, they will end up forming a new Lumpur identity within the tribe which over time will come to slowly replace that of the Sanger.

As you destroyed the village, their old way of life and defeated them as a people, they will more or less accept their new lives with no alternative. The problem doesn't come from forcing them into your tribe, which you have successfully done (with the ones you captured, you know there are more out there), but instead with them assimilating into the tribe. Nothing is for certain of course, but you can probably expect after three generations, that the Lumpur identity will be dominant to the point of the Sanger being irrelevant or non-existant. The main factor in all of this is the mixed gender ratio. Obviously it is heavily skewed towards female, but because there are men, they'll just end up tending towards their fellow tribesmen resorting even to polygamy if need be. One way of dealing with this would be to functionally remove one gender altogether, male or female. If you had just the Lumpur men, or just the women, either without the other, they would be much more inclined to willingly, fully assimilate.

So it's a complicated problem indeed, though at least you're not being pressured for tribute, and now dominate the lake region.
>>
>>203198
Elderly and Cildren will focus on learning Plains speak and Nomad writing and math along with various skill we need years of training to do like being scribes, carpenter or lather tanning/armor and shield making.
>Tell the parents their children will receive the best care, best food and best education possible!
>If they still disagree do it anyway and tell them they will be with the elderly all the time.

While 8 males are undergoing very rigours learning and assimilation for the next few months.
>Once they speak only plains speak they can spend their free time freely.

The girls will be the last to be assimilated excluding the few smartest ones who will start becoming scribes, hunters and common workers untill the men can be trusted.
>Have weekly meeting with the 17 girls to teach them plains speak for now, moving on the math and writing when the rest know.
>>
>>203255
So what you are saying is that my plan (>>203240) would be for the best?
>>
>>203252
That number of them remaining is based on two factors,

1, that the counts of their tribe were based on relatively short stays, and so while the general idea was gotten, the exact number was inaccurate, in this case lower than the truth.

and 2, they had something of a second smaller settlement farther to the west in the forest region that was unbeknownst to you, only hinted at before. Rowena and the other captives were aware of it, but not how many people were back and forth since for the most part, the two settlements though both Lumpur, usually kept separate. In this case, the chieftain more or less conscripted that settlement and dragged them back to the main one, like they did with the pinks.
>>
>>203240
>>203262

Only two questions to this plan, are who you will sell them into slavery to (you know the purple aren't really partial to female slaves and certainly not in this high number), and will you do that with the women from the tribute parties who overtime were cooperative?
>>
>>203262
I think we could make them into whatever our tribes name is.
>Children won't be raised by their parents but by the shamans and people from the plains and original tribe.
>The Woman will be easier to assimilate into our ranks, we already have Lumpur who like us some it's only about 14 women and 6 men who really need retraining, the subtract those who want to join our tribe willing.
>So that mean at most their will be 20-16 people who disagree with our views but they will be swayed by hard labor and persistent learning of plains speak.

>>203282
No don't sell that many to others.
>Although selling off some women would be okay.
>>
>>203282
Primarily to the Purples but also to the Nomads and Pinks, assuming they are interested.

I guess we shall instead just sell all of the Lumpur men, except one. As we can just get some Pinks and Purples to marry the Lumpurian woman.

I would also suggest the creation of a law stating that women and men of the Lumpur aren't allowed to have relationships with each other. To promote absorption into our tribe.
>>
>>203291
I'll say right now, you don't have enough people loyal to the Sanger identity, to be able to take that kind of complicated action where the kids are separated and raised, while the others are split between indoctrination and hard labor.

Really the problem is not that there are so much of them, but that as they are, they can still marry and make families among themselves which they will always prefer to do. Lumpur will just marry Lumpur, they'll have Lumpur children who will outnumber yours, and eventually will carry the Lumpur identity torch.
>>
>>203301
A small problem in that, which is that as said the purples are primarily interested in slaves for labor so usually only accept men. The nomads as well because of their mobile lifestyle, can't really keep slaves. The pinks might work but they themselves are small in number so won't accept that many.

To be fair as you said though, getting rid of the men would greatly hinder the Lumpur identity to continue. Same as in reverse, if you'd gotten rid of all the women.

Lastly, official laws isn't something you really understand yet, rather than just a social contract. At least not codified laws. It can be something you work towards, and indeed in this time of conflict and action, you would quickly be able to figure it out.

Though all that said, *that* specific law would cause actual unrest, if you're telling them they can't have relationships with their own kind, when some already exist like Leona and her husband.
>>
>>203328
Wait, could you subtract all of the Lumpur who are willing to leave their culture from those who won't?
>I'd do it but I can't remember everyone's name.
>>
Okay here is what i think we should do

1) Sell ALL of the men, this just makes everything simpler.

2) We will sell all of the elders and all children over two. This will help to eliminate their history and cultural identity in the next generation.

3) We go to the Purple and Pinks, get some husbands for the Lumpurian woman.

That should destroy their cultural unity, get us more population and generally allow us to remain in control.
>>
>>203344

There are four you know of, Apra, Rowena, Molah and Vegita's wife, who have accepted the Sanger ways to the point of abandoning the Lumpur ways.

That's not to say others couldn't as well, that's just currently the way it is.

>>203348
That might cause some lament among the women, if you sell off their remaining husbands and children, but then again you did conquer them so they'll have to learn to deal with it.

As for trying to get some outside men, that could work but you'd have to be careful about how you manage those relationships. Like for example if you get say, a pink man for every Lumpur woman, those pink men will be tolerant of their wives' Lumpur ways and so they will be passed to their children along with pink ways, rather than Sanger. Not to as great an extent as say, two Lumpur parents, and only a risk if you get a large number of outside males, but still something to consider.

Either way you might have to get a little creative since there's so many women. Well it's not like you need to marry them all and make them all have kids, but their happiness will decrease if a long time passes without making a family. None of them want to end up old and alone, of course.
>>
>>203391
Eh, we can encourage the outsiders to bring their culture into ours over their wives. So that for at least a generation we have certainty that the Lumpur's won't be passed on.

Failing that we can just spend the next thirty turns doing cultural suppression.
>>
>>203391
Alright I think I know how to solve this.

First take all the family's our of the main group.
>Keep married couples together and kids with their parents.
>If the pregnant women are not married they will have to live in the fort away from the other Lumpur.
>Any orphan children will be taken in and raised by the people in the fort.

But other then that.
>Any seeming useless or weak men are sold, all unmarried or useless women is sold.
>Elderly will be kept but they will live in the fort being scribes being forced to write and speak plains most of the time.

For the kids and the expecting.
>The Lumpur people can speak Forrest speak but their children have to spend their time at the fort only going home at night to sleep and see their family.
>Or they can see they can raise their children but have to teach and speak Plains speak.
>>
>>203437
See the problem is that will leave us with too many Lumpur. To be frank my plan (>>203348) is probably the best with one last modification.

1) We sell 10/14 (3 pregnant ones and one non-pregnant) of the Lumpur women. The rest are treated as the original plan dictates.
>>
>>203273
So how did the other tribe come with us then? Surely most Lumpur will think, "well I'd rather not live with the Sanger if I could help it" and move to the secret lumpur location? Where was it located anyways.
>>
>>203461
Gonna grab a bite to eat, but it's worth noting that if you eliminate either gender, there wouldn't really be a problem of "too much Lumpur" since you've already destroyed their home, and by doing that you'd destroy their potential for families.

>>203475
The ones who got away probably did go back to the smaller settlement. The tribe wouldn't know this but player knowledge, it's downriver a ways from the purple outpost and how the two did their trading and tribute collecting.

As for how the current ones you have are feeling, they would probably like to go back, and if let free no strings attached they may do so. But at the same time, you destroyed their main home so the statement is very bold and clear. There is the very real risk, or at least they believe, that if you feel the need to you'd just go over and destroy the smaller settlement like you did with the main one. Some of them believe you will do that anyway, assuming it still exists after it was basically packed up and dragged back to the main village.

There's also another reason it would be unfeasible, but I think telling that really would be going to far for player knowledge.
>>
>>203461
>>203492
Right, I think I got the answer, I pretty sure.

5 males are too young or old to be a real problem all with Leonas husband so that mean 6 could be inducted.

Then 4 women who like it her, then 7 that are too old or young to be a problem.

So that mean 2 men and 6 women to sell/deal with
>What do now?
>>
>>203461
Ah Fuck it, let's get it over with, you decide what to do.
>I just wanna play.
>>
>3) We go to the Purple and Pinks, get some husbands for the Lumpurian woman.
I agree with this a bit. get one or two men who are willing to switch to our side.

>>203492
Sell of the problematic males to slavery.
Impregnate all the women:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Droit_du_seigneur
Have Rick+Rowena teach the children our culture, and some small mixes of theirs daily.
Give the married men, a chance to assimilate over time or be be exiled to the outskirts of the camp or to their old one.
>>
Ayo I'm back. So I guess to settle the dispute/tie, I'll give options again.

>1. Get rid of some or most of the Lumpur so it's down to a manageable level.
>2. Get rid of one gender entirely so the remainder is more manageable (specify which gender).
>3. Get rid of them all except for the ones who had already assimilated into the tribe before the war, and their family if they have any.

Get rid of in this case, meaning find a way to expel them from the tribe, be it selling them into slavery, banishing them, or even killing them. Feel free to specify.
>>
>>203852
Keep all the children, pregnant and those who are willing to assimilate/already have.
>Then sell off the useless and unmarried to get down to a good ratio.
>But if old people won't be a problem keep them as scribes.
>>
>>203852
>1. Get rid of some or most of the Lumpur so it's down to a manageable level.
Mainly the men, we can breed the women.
If we keep the women fairly comfortable and well fed, and safe. They will slowly turn over to our side in turn. The men will be more difficult, but not impossible.

Focus on the Men, but see who we can keep or has the potential to be useful.

Children can be brainwashed and made ours so long as we take over their education and reinforce it often. Maybe even have them turn in their own parents like the good commie kids they should be.
>>
>>204114
>Brainwashing kids
We ingsoc now nigga
>>
Alright, so you decide to get rid of some of the Lumpur for now, at first mainly the ones you think won't be useful. Later on you can adjust it more. This includes

>All of the elderly. You aren't able to sell them off, but you figure to let them go, under something of an agreement that they are free to meander about the lake and region (intending the possible small remaining Lumpur settlement downriver, if it exists) and if they find anyone, spread the word. Both of what you did, but also of how you're accepting people. Any spare Lumpur out there struggling to get by, it will present a tough but very appealing choice. This also applies to anyone else they encounter for that matter.
>The adult men to cut down on any problems. You keep the boys though, for population potential, if they can be reeducated and paired with non-Lumpur women which since they aren't adults you can forcibly arrange.

Thus the captive Lumpur population, removing those sold off and those who accepted assimilation in the past, brings it to

>16 = 3 male, 13 female (children: 3 male, 3 female)

Whereby, Leona's husband and daughter accept assimilation, the elderly are temporarily banished, and the remaining adult men are sold off. This number is much easier to manage, and as long as you are careful with the boys, no further Lumpur families will form. You can make double sure of this, if you care to arrange the boys to marry women in the tribe not of Lumpur descent. It might make for an unorthodox living situation, but basically their older wives can lead them to adulthood as proper Sanger men. If this is an option wanted, feel free to specify who they're arranged to.

Otherwise, assuming to set aside the children for indoctrination into the tribe, that leaves you with 10 adult women. Without the ability to go home or make a family of Lumpur identity though, they'll shortly fall into line with no other alternatives.
>>
>>204358
Awesome I'm good with that number.
>Children are raised in the fort where they are taught Plains speak. Nomad writing along with speciality skills like leather making or herbalist skills.
>Take all the women who are willing to learn/are accepting of our ways and start teaching them plains speak once a week every week.

Then I guess let's move by months of no one cares?
Let's have Vegita, Pip and Uru when he is okay to train with the horses finding a way to keep the saddle on and to get the horse to trot but can't direct it.
>Uru should seem like he can't really remember the night he was beaten by Maddie so Vegita and Pip decide just not to talk about.

Apar and the Raider girls (did we get names for them?) round up the slaves and willing free workers to start claring plots of land, chopping down trees and making out roads with rocks and gravel.
>Have good organization and have a communal fire pit in the middle of the village.

Rick and Rowena should stay by Illeo untill she wakes up, when Illeo wakes up. She starts to cry from the happiness of being home and away from the Lumpur.
>Have Illeo explain Madde to Rick and try to convince him to make a nice hidding for her in the cave.
>Also let her decide what to do with the head.
>>
>>204465
One modification to your plan anon, I think we should arrange some marriages as quickly as possible.

We have a few free of non-lumpur women birth and should probably pair them off soon.
>>
>>204492
I assumed the pregnant women would live in the fort spend all their time becoming assimilated with the children untill they give birth.
>After the kid is old enough it survive with out the mother she will go back to her normal tasks while the child stays.

Also I wanted to know who should basically raise the children?
>I wanted to put Faun and Rick in charge of the children for now but when they understand language and math and all that they can go back to their families and shit.
>At 15?
>>
>>204548
15 sounds like a good number
>>
>>204465
I think at least just for a couple turns it'll go back to two weeks at a time, but then we can go to months. The time is fully in Summer now as well.

Also something else, for the slaves given to them and also for more or less wiping out the Lumpur, the purple are pleased as long as you are able to trade what the Lumpur did.

As a thanks, they're willing to teach you something they know, of your choosing

>Masonry
>The Wheel
>Wind power

Also as well you can request something valuable of them that you like.

---

Otherwise, the children are taken to be indoctrinated, in a process which leads down the development path to education and schooling. Everyone else, without the alternative, are more or less accepting to assimilate and you don't need to treat them like slaves, though the process will be slow since there are so many of them and you're already busy with the kids and pregnant women in the fort.

Others in the group try to start working with the horses, but the plains raider who is marginally more cooperative now with her new position, at least that you don't have to have her permanently restrained, says she thinks you're wasting your time with a saddle and reigns, and that she can teach how to ride and steer a horse bareback. If you wish that is, otherwise you can continue with the saddle and such, and she can help otherwise by showing proper horse care.

As for Uru, that's fair to say he was so scared of what happened, and the trauma of the attack, that his mind blocked it out for now. Vegita doesn't know about the Stranger but Pipin chooses to not bring it up.

Apra and the forest raiders (I do believe they had names, I'll double check) go about organizing the now free and willing workers towards labor such as clearing land for farming (with many more people you can support larger farms) tree cutting, and collecting small amounts of stone for crushing and gravel. Maybe eventually you could have cobbled paths even. Of note that because of dismally low morale, their productivity is not high though, and as free accepting members of the tribe they can't just be forced to work harder.

After two weeks Illeo is more or less healed though still bears the scars. She is happy to be back from the Lumpur, though she doesn't want to talk about her time there, and her trust in the tribe is greatly diminished. Uru tries to apologize and make it up to her, which she accepts at face value but it doesn't really improve her feelings towards him. When offered the skull by the plains raider, she takes it but later just ends up throwing it into the lake.

Cont.

>>204492
Who might these arrangements be made for?
>>
>>204465

At some point during her healing process, Illeo talks to Rick about the Stranger. He tells her of great danger and that she should have nothing to do with it, if anything they should be looking for a way to banish or kill her. When asked why, Rick says he only barely knows about whatever she is, from only the very oldest legends that he vaguely remembers being told perhaps once when he was a child by the elders then. Madde's race was regarded long gone by those who'd been told stories of it, an ancient evil that bewitched men, tribes into being their servants and apparently rarely even mates, and practicing fell magic and unspeakable blood rituals such as crossbreeding different animals and even humans for abominable results.

These are only vague details he remembers from his childhood, and it seems they were regarded as a sort of boogeyman to frighten children rather than actually believed to have existed. Thus explaining why Rick nearly had a heart attack from fright of seeing Madde in person. Whatever the case, he understands why the Lumpur and other people of the region so fearfully abhor the island even if they don't know why or what may have dwelled there. One way or the other, he greatly cautions Illeo against it, despite her telling him that Madde saved her, has been taking care of her and is kind and friendly. He claims she's just working foul spells on Illeo to turn her into a servant or worse, and that they should consider ways of getting rid of the Stranger if she further leaves the island. That's for now, since they're busy with other things. For certain he says, they'll need a way in the future to get rid of her.

>>204548
That is the case with the pregnant women, not only for assimilation purposes but also for pregnancy healthcare purposes. The only thing of concern is you can't really just sent them back to duties after having their children, as the infants will need a mother's care. Unless you get something like a dedicated caretaker/wetnurse specifically for infants, the new mothers will need to take care of them personally till the babies are old enough to be taken care of by others as children.

For now Rick, Rowena and Faun are in charge of actual childcare and education. This is currently sufficient and probably will continue to be in the future, assuming all the women of the tribe all start constantly having children so that within a few years there's like 30+ young children to take care of.

And 15 is the age by which children are considered adults, this far back in history. You figure 10 is probably a better age, and by which point they'll be properly assimilated. This is all assuming of course the risk of Lumpur identity persisting remains. If culturally mixed families start to form, then they can raise their children themselves without risk.
>>
>>204628
Oh right yeah, almost forgot. So yeah, two weeks pass,

>What do?
>>
>>204635
Personally, I would say the wheel, we can learn masonry from the purple but if I'm wrong and we can't learn masonry I would say do the latter.

Have a religious festival in a few weeks to officially announce the welcoming of all the new people and for a bountiful harvest this year!
>If I can have my way I'd like to have a sacrifice of a new born lamb follwed by a feast by the communal fire pit.

Keep Apar and The raider girls working with the free workers to keep building houses, roads and fire pits for now.
>Have Uru and Rick come together looking for ways to improve the ax and pick ax.

While Vegita and the Mary (Plains raider.) should study the horse. Have the plains raider ride the horse with no saddle so we can see how she directs and handles the horse.
>If we see how she handles it we can better improve the saddle cushion for the horse and human.
>The Mary, when she saw the have built reins she has the idea to put a thick bone as the bite and finds a better fits it to the horse.
>Vegita found a way to keep the saddle using rope tight around the waist but he also invented the harness but it's in the early stages so just made of rope.

One Lumpur free man named Ril had the idea of the wheel when logging up a hill and watching it roll down.
>Secretly he invented a cart but it has small, poorly made and the wheels aren't perfectly round but it moves. Also it was ment for a person to pull and no one other then him knows about it.

In the fort make the purple room in the cave into a class room with some smooth slate for writing and enough space to walk around in.
>This should be a side task for those who aren't strong enough to do hard labor.

Make a rule for now that says untill the children come back to families, free Lumpur can speak Forrest speak but have to learn plains speak still.
>Basically for now they can keep their culture, giving them time to adjust but still trying to addapt to ours.

And for side tasks, start handing out goats, chickens and rabbits for people in our new village to start raising, I feel that will boost moral a bit.
>Everyone will be expect to give some kind of animals produced from domestication or one from fishing/hunting and some plants/natural resources every month.
>Horses, untill we have mastered them will be a fort only thing.
>>
>>204635
I would say wind power. Explain we are willing to trade resources for the rest over time.

The applications of wind power are greater than masonry or, for the time being, the wheel. As it will allow us to automate the processing of grain into flour.

In comparison, stone working would allow for expansion of the caves and the creation of better structures.

While the wheel merely makes the transport of resources over land easier which is useless seeing as all of our potential trade partners exist next to a river.
>>
>>205077
Yeah that seems more likely, wind would be a hard thing to find out on your own in the world.
>Wind power +1
>>
>>204628
Make sure to plan impregnating and having lumpur women bear children from every Sanger man. Do not impregnate the mall at once. Start with the oldest since they will leave child bearing age soonest, and only 1/4 or 1/3 of them. Have the other non-pregnant women help take care of the pregnant women, and babies until they are about 2 years of age, when their education begins.
>>
>>204585
>Masonry
I like building things.
>>
>>205077
>>205108

Well this is a special case since you removed the Lumpur who they tolerated but didn't like the tribute. Normal trade is not going to get them to teach you technology, just get you trade in return.

For clarity though wind power doesn't only imply windmills, rather it's the usage of sails. So you'd be able to make better boats as well.

Either way, the purples teach you about the power behind wind, and how to make sails from flax, which you readily get from them and are growing some of yourself.

>>204778

You don't have sheep, but a goat sacrifice should work. A religious festival for the Summer is held, with a focus on welcoming the new tribe members. Not all of them appreciate it, but a good number do, and are taking well to Sanger life.

Apra as director of labor continues work and makes pretty good progress, with enough houses built for everyone now, and cleared, lined paths between the places of interest for the tribe. Rick and Uru meanwhile try to work on a better axe, with the idea of a wedge in mind. They don't have pickaxes yet though.

Work with the horses continue, with Mari showing what she knows. Her tribe knew how to ride bareback and steer horses with their legs, to allow for both handed weapon usage. It makes for an amazing display, combat potential, and efficiency, but it is very hard to learn and the horse also has to be trained for it. You figure for ease, a saddle would be better for standard use by everyone else. Together with Vegita though, they do figure out how to make better reigns by having a bit for the horse, getting the saddle to stay is still a challenge however.

There's only one Lumpur man left, so Ril will be Leona's husband. Given how often the tribe is chopping trees and stuff though, it's fair to say they can come up with the wheel that way, no need to learn it from the purple. A very simple wheel though, things like carts are still beyond you.

An actual classroom of sorts is made in the fort, the purple room being cleared of goods and made into a teaching space. As a goodwill gesture as well, you force the Lumpur to assimilate to the Sanger way, but at a pace they can manage and are comfortable with.

Lastly to give them more sense of ownership and belonging to the tribe, you provide people with their own livestock to tend to, along with their usual expected duties. This, along with the houses you have given, strongly tie them to the tribe.

>>205195
Who will shoulder this responsibility? Remember the problem outlined here >>190583 except that now there are even more women.
>>
>>205215
All the men, including Vegita when hes ready. We need numbers and we can marry off or for battle. We can also use the future men to bring women in, or send them to bond with the pink tribe. This is like 15 years down the line.
>>
>>205248
That's fair. If you're looking to get 1/4-1/3 of them having kids, Pipin can handle that on his own by Rowena's encouragement, maybe Uru with one or two if you want to mix it up.

Only question is, does that include the non-Lumpur women who the idea came up to arrange marry them to the Lumpur boys, to prevent further Lumpur couples from forming? If not, which of these women are getting arranged married if so? There are four non-Lumpur women, in the three raiders and the one nomad.
>>
>>205215
Alright if we got sails that good, one step to windmills I guess.

First thing have the Raider girls lead the work forces for a bit, while Apar studies carpentry and basic city planning.
>City planning as in good placement and separating things in to districts like agriculture, living quaters and other shit.

Keep Vegita and Mari working on the horse, but have Mari teach one of the horses to get style as Well as showing Vegita to do it.
>But when not practicing riding they should be working to improve the saddle and make a harness to turn these animals into work animals.

Rick, Faun and Pip with his wolves as guards should take the kids out in the wild with to start teaching them plants and animals tracks.
>Basic knowledge of the wild and herbs really.

Now that some houses are built start teaching some of the more accepting ex-Lumpur people some animals to care for.
>Also start making beds out of woven fibers but only give it to people in the fort, children and accepting ex-Lumpur people.

Illeo should go back to the island with some wine and honey to thank Madde properly.
>Speaking of honey, expand our bee farm, normal farm and anything else we can expand in a month

Side task should be making bigger boats that rely on wind power.
>Progress will be slow.
>>
>>205296
See
>>203629
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Droit_du_seigneur
>>
>>205325
I saw that, just trying to figure out if the idea about arranging marriages is still being followed. If not, then the non-Lumpur women are also fair game to having kids.
>>
>>205345
I'd like to make less emphasis on marriages till our tribe numbers and gender ratio even out. at this moment, if we choose monogamy, then we will need to import men and outsiders. Or some women will not have children.

I'd be happy with marriage, backed up by concubines and or mistresses.

Even have an occasional orgy to "mix the pot".
>>
>>205364
Alright then, for the time being the non-Lumpur women will be possible to have kids, and in time as the boys come of age/more men fill out the tribe, then maybe proper relationships can be pursued.
>>
>>205376
Well when the kids come to age they won't be Lumpur so they can go out and find wives from other tribes and they could date another Lumpur but they both will think they are Sanger.
>So doesn't that mean we are gonna have 6 Sanger boys and girls in 10 or so years if the are raised on Sanger values and such?
>>
>>205297
Another two weeks pass.

Apra's duties are taken so she can try to develop the skills she saw the purples having, of city planning. She thinks to use physical maps to lay out plans rather than just guessing and judging by eye.

Vegita figures using reigns and saddles are less important when Mari can slowly teach bareback riding. More important is to develop harnesses in order to put the horses to work.

As part of the education process the children are taken out with the wolves to be taught foraging and survival skills. For the adults as well, animal care and rearing is taught so that they might better be able to tend to the animals they are given. As well proper beds are starting to be made rather than just bedrolls, in time everyone will be given one.

Lastly, the idea of wind power and sails is thought to be combined with boats, and though the small Lumpur style boats wouldn't benefit from them, the larger style boat you have been developing overtime would.

Cont.

>>205403
Well two of the boys are old enough (12 and 8) that their indoctrination won't be as effective. They'll be Sanger loyal, but if paired with a Lumpur woman, they will tolerate Lumpur identity. The third boy is just a baby, and further boys born will be raised in the Sanger way but these two could be a problem in the future if left unchecked.
>>
>>205403
I would imagine so, give it one or two more generations after that and the gender inequality should level out. At least amongst the breeding population.

However it should be noted that the number of children in the tribe is only set to grow, massively so.
>>
>>205297
Against Rick's warnings, Illeo brings goodies with her to go to the island and see the Stranger for the first time in a month. Waiting till sunset, she travels over and soon finds Madde by the flowered path. When they meet Illeo runs over and Madde picks her up, holding her close and kissing her like a mother with a child, and Illeo actually sees her cry for the first time, laughing as well. It's a rather emotional experience but a good one, and serves to dispel any worries she had about Rick's warnings. It also makes her feel good since spending time with the tribe was kind of depressing for her, given her lack of trust in them.

They get to talking and Illeo thanks her for the rescue, though is told it is alright. Illeo asks how she might be able to repay that, but is told again not to worry, though does herself think maybe to try to accomplish what Madde often seems to want to, opening the other burial mounds. She'd need help with that though, so it may need to wait. They also talk about other things like Pipin and how Madde feels he is not as bad as she thought, and asks if Illeo would relay an apology for her if she doesn't see him again.

Otherwise the have a nice time together, trying to pick up from where they left off with language lessons. Illeo also spends the night, though when undressing for bed, Madde becomes alarmed to see the scars on Illeo's body, touching it with her hands and causing some embarrassment when she fully strips and picks her to check for more, almost like a child checking a doll that got dropped on the floor for any scratches or dirt. Before going to sleep, Madde asks Illeo if she would like for her to properly heal her and remove the scars.

>What do? Also moving forward, how much involvement and how often should Illeo be involved with the Stranger?
>>
>>205376
>>205364

In the meantime, Rowena brings up to Pipin the population/gender problem of the tribe, and starts to talk about and suggest the idea of him fathering children with other women, maybe even marrying other women if he's open to it. Pipin is confused by this and a little unhappy, being in love with Rowena and feeling more than content with her, but she spins it in such a way as to say that it's for the good of the tribe, and what the tribe needs. This gets to him, and overtime as she continues to manipulate him on the matter, the more likely he is to go through with it. Probably by the end of the month, she'll get him to try to do so with another woman, and then others from there.

At the same time, Uru and Faun start to talk about the same matter. Both of them are uncomfortable with it and don't like the idea, but the both come to accept that it's not worth risking their future and the future of their children, so that their population would remain small despite all their productivity and goods, thus making them a prime target for raiding and attack. The both understand, that the Lumpur were someone to learn from. Overtime they come to the decision to start considering another woman to the family, and if that works out maybe two. They are on the fence though, considering between Apra and Molah, both former Lumpur women who accepted the Sanger way of life, and both whom Uru and Faun are friendly and familiar with.
>>
>>205537
Illeo should say no to the healing, as much as she doesn't like them, it's like a memory and everyone has bad memories.
>But she should find more about the shiny things she was using during the rescue mission.

After that.
Uru, Vegita, Pip and I even think Rick should start the implementation of Sanger seed in Lumpur soil.
>If you know what I'm saying.

Apar and Uru, after the mating thing is done, should go to the purple tribe asking to viste their city to better learn about how to upgrade their town and other skills.
>Try to convince some purple to come back with us but not very many, we want to keep the balance.

The 12 and 8 year old won't be going back at 16 because of their age. Now they will be come free people at 20.
>They will be taught the most of all our students besides Uru and Fauna child.
>The boys will learn more horse riding tracking Gathering, Stone Mason, tree logging and other manual labor tasks.
>Girls will focus on learning to read right along with mathematics carpentry husbandry and general agriculture and specialized work.

Vegita and Mari should spend more time working with the horses learning to ride them and developing better saddles.
>Mari should start to unwind a bit from her more aggressive nature, but only when working with Vegita and the horses.

The raider girls (who I'll call Yuno and Mali.) should be named acting heads of labor and city planning.
>With the new role the spilt, Yuno taking half to start building the communal fire pit and houses.
>While Mali start building fishing huts and better/bigger fishing boats with sails.

Pip should take the 12 year old boy and start teaching him to train and domesticat wolves.
>Along with generally learning the breeding habits of all animals recording in records.

Would you please up date the map of our fort/village Along with our population divided by profession and skills?

I have a few modifications. Firstly Apar and Uru should enquire as to what resources the Purples want to trade for. So we can arrange our efforts to get us the most wealth.

Next, city planning is controlled by the tribal council. However we can dedicate time to improving our planning and figuring out some of the problems of having that many people in a area.

Also we should certainly continue to refine our concept of a wheel. Even though we lack a major need for it, it is a useful tool.

Lastly I feel we should work on building larger boats to facilitate trade and because I want to make use of our traded tech.
>>
>>205537
Oh yeah also, how's our crops and live stock doing?
>Do we have pigs yet our do they still have fur and tusks?
>Also get sheep and cows from the purple if they have them.
>>

Another two weeks pass.

Illeo decides against the healing Madde offers, figuring just healing the scars away won't erase the memories or the damage. She does though try to learn more about the weapons Madde has and uses, finding out that they are a "metal" called "bronze", the best Madde can explain it being similar to a kind of stone taken from underground, melted and shaped with a hammer. Apparently it was big thing for her race, and though she knows how to make it, she doesn't have the needed supplies or means to here on the island. Also something else that during her time back and forth, Pipin asks Illeo about the Lumpur warrior woman that the Stranger took. When asked, Madde says she's been working to make a good servant out of her, but if you'd like you can have her instead. Illeo is not sure how to respond to this though.

Meanwhile, there continues to be brought up the effort for making more babies. Rick as always just won't do it at his age and Vegita says he's not going to consider it for at least a few years if it becomes a real problem. Uru and Faun though come to a difficult but realistic agreement on the matter, while Pipin is further pushed and prompted by Rowena to accept the responsibility. By month's end (next turn), Pipin will be in the mindset to start trying to sow Sanger seed.

Uru to spend more time with Apra (who he and Faun consider as another woman to have in their family) to get to know her better, decide to go to the purple hoping to see about visiting the city. They are open to the idea, but say to let them make sure it's alright the next time they get resupplied. You also ask them if any of them are interested in coming with you. Apart from the orphan boy you met before, none at the outpost are interested. However, they say you'll probably be able to find willing people at the city.

For educating the children, a curriculum of skills is started to be developed with differences between how the boys and girls are taught, practical skills and learning each. The older boys in particular are educated with a more hands-on approach by the adults rather than alongside the younger children. If you can't indoctrinate them to be Sanger then you can at least raise them to be responsible and loyal to the Sanger way of life. Pipin towards the 12 year old boy in particular, takes him under his wing as a mentor to his own skillset in tending to wolves.
>>
>>206154
Vegita and Mari's work with the horses continue, alternating work between trying to perfect the saddle and a working harness. They quite soundly develop reigns though, choosing to go with a hardened wood and leather bit. Mari also overtime eases up. Not as if she loses her edge, and still thinks she should be in charge and that you should be raiding the region and establishing dominance, but she's becoming at least a little less hostile to the tribe overall. Again, her position of power is helping.

Yuno and Mali head up construction duties, though they are not as skilled as Apra. They expand on the fire pit of the fort to accommodate larger tribe events, and start to work on a better and larger docks area. A sailing boat though, is a bit beyond their crafting skill or direction.

As for a map, the thread is nearing completion so I'd rather save that for the next thread, but I can certainly follow with the population.

>>205877
Apra and Uru while among the purples ask what they would most like to trade for. Mostly they are into luxury and specialist goods from the forest region that they can't get from the coastal region their city is. Things like the honey, peach wine, special forest plants and herbs (which the Lumpur were giving them mostly), tall wood for construction, and goods particular to the lake and region (the seaweed is a major good they seek).

Furthermore, settlement planning is put more in the hands of the council proper, so that more tribal input can be taken on the matter.

Wheel and boat work can continue, but will require the closest things to specialists in the matter, notably craftsmen.

>>205971
Crops and livestock are doing well, the crop harvest size won't be phenomenal but it's good for your first try and season. Moving forward it will only be better.

Livestock numbers for everything except horses as well, are in the double digits for each kind of animal. The boars are still boars proper though, actual domesticated pigs will need to be sought elsewhere or bred towards on your own but will take a long time. As for sheep, the purple also don't have access to them, but cows is something you can obtain from them for a proper trade.
>>
>>206154
I would say go to the month at a time for now.
>How long untill the pregnant girls give birth?
>How much longer till harvest?
>And boars lose their fur and tusks once they stop living in the wild!
>Or at least next generation.

Illeo should ask what kind of rock does she need to "copper" and what a hammer looks like and what else she need for it/to make it.
>Tell her she can keep the warrior girl but if she is to be useful to fully break her.
Also, if it's okay with everyone I want Illeo to start a lewd relationship with Madde.

Yuno and Mali should spend their time drafting better houses, building better pins for the citizen animals and general building. But they both should work on better carpentry and architecture.
>Ril should tell them about the wheel which they flip for and start asking him to make more and better versions of it!
>Ril is given Fort privileges allowed in for help supplies and anything he need to make bette wheels.

But Apar, Faun and Uru Along with some free workers should start drawing up plans to make a bigger ship with a sail ment to take more to the purple city and bring more back.
>During this Faun has a talk with Apar with becoming a full Sanger so Uru does have to sleep with her but Ril has to sleep with others.

Rick and a good swimer should spend the next 2 weeks teaching the children to swim, picking sea weed, fishing and other thing involving the river.

While Rowena and Pip goes out to teach the girls to collect honey, herbs and other valuable things in the wilds.

Rick should secretly teach one of the more loyal Lumpur women who doesn't care about working with the peaches named Colin how to make the wine.
>Turns out she was a amazing cook back at Lumpur, taking up the skill of brewing up quickly and start making it alot with the help of Rick.
>>

Should I make shorter posts?

Absolutely not if you don't want to, I prefer longer posts/more detail, makes it easier for me to make turns.
>>
>>206310
>I would say go to the month at a time for now.

Yeah, it's probably about that point.

>How long untill the pregnant girls give birth?

By next turn one will give birth, the other two in the next six months each.

>How much longer till harvest?

Beginning of fall (unless I'm mistaken about wheat and flax harvest time)

>And boars lose their fur and tusks once they stop living in the wild!

I want to say that I'd heard that before, but thanks for correcting me, always go ahead if I make mistakes like that. So yeah, the boars then are pretty piggy.

>Also, if it's okay with everyone I want Illeo to start a lewd relationship with Madde.

If other people are ok with it, and if Illeo starts living more or less full time with Madde, that may be possible. Don't expect great detail from me though, I'm not a good writer in general let alone lewd stories.

>one of the Lumpur who doesn't care about working with the peaches

Doesn't exist. If you wait till the peach trees you planted off of the island to start bearing fruit though, it won't be a problem.

Who's Vegita married to?
>Also what does path finder, astrology and domestication specialist implor?
>>
>>206400
Vegita is married to ??? after Leona, she never got a name if I recall.

Pathfinder is someone skilled in finding trails and roads made or taken by humans, remembering places traveled and finding the lay of the land. Astronomer means the person recognizes the sky and stars follow a pattern, which from there they may use that information for something (divination, navigation, etc...) or may seek to learn things in that way. Domestication specialist means they are great at homemaking, things like domestic chores and housework as well as family and child care.

Also forgot to mention in the previous post, but towards Ril taking more women, he's fairly opposed because he has a happy family, wife and daughter, but even if prompted he will definitely not take another Lumpur woman as that is sort of against their custom. The only reason you can get away with it is because they know your customs are different.
>>
>>206415
I wasn't sure if I should make another turn or not.

First now that I know all the girls and boys professions I got some quick things for them to do.
>First all those who are able to run around and are path finders should map the area all around the lake a Forrested area.
>Give one of the best path finders a name and start training her to ride a horse.

Speaking of horses, Vegita and Mari should stay strong working on learning to ride horses and developing the a harness.
>Since Vegita is not married I feel like you should start developing feelings for Mari during their long hours working with horses but Mari stays the same.

Uru, Apar and the best ship builders should all come together to come up with the blueprints for a bigger boat with a big sails.
>For now let's experiment with smaller ships sailing around the lake.

Yuno should take all the domestic specialists and start building better pins for local families and easier better chicken and rabbit coops.
>Yuno should take this time to tell them about her coming into the Sanger way from being a raider.
>Giving a story in how bad life was before and how people her are the most progressive and forward thinking people she ever met.

While Nali take everyone else to start building houses along the river for fishing, seaweed and anything else concerning the river/lake.

Rowena, Faun and a strong swimmer should teach the children old enough and anyone who doesn't know how to swim.

>Side action:Rick should teach Nali to make more of the peach wine, being a raider she won't give a fuck.
>>
Alright

>>206310

A month passes, of note one of the women give birth to a baby girl.

Illeo tries to figure out more about the weapons belonging to the Stranger but is told she can't show her on the island since there isn't any. Even so, Illeo seeks to spend more time with Madde rather than the tribe, whom is happy to hear it but says she'll have to give back the Lumpur woman then otherwise it'd be too much to keep track of. She has Illeo take her back to the tribe, who notices the woman is happy to be free of the Stranger such that she is fully cooperative. Upon returning, Illeo overtime transitions to spending most of her time living with Madde rather than with the tribe. In their friendliness and closeness as well, feelings start to stir in Illeo that she can't explain and feels ashamed of, trying to suppress whenever they come up. Romantic feelings, towards the Stranger. Nothing actually happens from it, but she wonders how something like that could even work.

Yuno and Mali look into building proper houses, and go ahead in making proper pens for each current house to store livestock for their owners. Particularly they get into the habit of getting better and better at carpentry. Ril assists them in their duty, and along the way gets their help working on the idea for wheels.

Most of the rest of the tribe, as headed by Uru, Faun and Apra, continue to work on an actual sail boat, and seem to be about halfway complete with a hull, ideally the sail following after.

Rick, Rowena and Pipin meanwhile take to continuing to educate the children, at things like swimming and foraging off the lake, as well as foraging in the forests and how to get honey and wax. Rick also sets about teaching one of the forest raider women his booze making process.

You set on a scouting effort, intending to send the nomad pathfinder out, the nomad couple going with her for assistance and safety. The Lumpur pathfinder girl, you plan to send out but first she should learn to ride a horse so that she can scout much better.

After a month, Vegita and Mari working with the horses come to develop a pretty crude but functioning harness such that a horse can pull something now. Along the way as well, the two of them come to settle their previous differences, and though he is married Vegita develops a thing for her, though it is not shared as Mari doesn't see him that way. If only for practical purposes though, Vegita could see himself having kids with her in the future, if there's still a need for multiple relationships.

In preparation for the larger ship, the boat workers go about experimenting with sailing on the smaller boats. Using flaxen sails as shown to them by the purple, different kinds of sail plans are tried, to varying degrees of success. Overall though it does look like the discovery could prove useful.

Yuno meanwhile while spending time with the laborers to better improve housing and animal penning, comes to answer curiosity about her and talk of life as a forest raider. In truth, she admits it was a pretty dismal life living day to day and by preying upon others. In coming into conflict and being captured by the Sanger though her life vastly improved and gained purpose, hence her loyalty. This serves both as a bonding experience for the laborers, but also increases their loyalty in the tribe when they come to understand her reasoning and the truth in her words.

Nali meanwhile heads an effort to start building housing by the river for an easier time of lake and river access and work. As well she'll try towards actual houses rather than the half-cylinder style longhouses made so far. This is done when not being taught about booze making by Rick.

Lastly in terms of relationships, Uru and Faun finally settle on accepting Apra into their family, by which a marriage ceremony is held. It's a little confusing to some and a cause for concern to others as it officiates polygamy, but generally people are happy for them and understand the purpose, in making more children. Some even are jealous, not so much of the polygamy situation but of being married and making a family. Either way the situation is official, and Uru and Apra start trying for a baby while with Faun as well they spend time together as a family to increase bonds and work on a way so that no one feels left out or neglected.

Pipin meanwhile is at the other end of the spectrum. At the constant pressuring of Rowena and a stressful acceptance, Pipin starts to try to conceive with other women in the tribe without marrying. This is met with similar misgivings and concern, but in a way it's also seen as more honest since there's no pretenses about strange marriages or relationships, but purely to make more children for the tribe, which is generally understood to be a goal and need. As such, as chosen by Rowena, for the time being three willing Lumpur women accept the situation and volunteer, to start trying to get pregnant by Pipin. At the current rate, Pipin is able to try to conceive with the three of them every week, putting about two days between each attempt with each of the three women. If need be though, the number of willing women can be increased as there were more than three volunteers. It is a lot of pressure on Pipin though to perform like this with women who are basically total strangers, a lot of responsibility placed on and expected of him in fathering more children, and as such his happiness and productivity decrease. As said, the number of women he can pair with can be increased, but he will probably become miserable and only able to perform his baby making duty but nothing else. Though, as usual he's willing to accept the burden, if the goal is to have as many children as often and in as short a time as possible.

>So moving forward, what to do for the next month, both actions and interactions for tribe members. Of note, it's now fully in Summer with days of sweltering heat and others of rains.
>>
>>207967
Well, I would like us to;

1) Expand our farms and create a orchard of peaches to make alcohol with more consistently.

2)Work on the horses, saddles and the harnesses for them

3) The wheel, a long term project but is worth it for the better land transport.

4) More tribal bonding dammit

5) A focus on, rather than making more houses, creating a better form of housing. At least making it more efficient.

6) Continue with the sails and larger boats projects.

7) Anyone good at finding / gathering herbs and such go and find the ones the Purples wish to trade for.

8) Rick just work on better alcohol, be it quality or quantity... also make more so we can go to the Purples with good shit.
>>
>>207967
On the hot days don't do hard labor, instead focus on bringing in fish and sea weed along the river as Well as building more river huts and houses.

We should build a smelting house in town.
>It's a big house, well built and ment to last a long time.
>It has once room has a big fire in it ment for cooking pottery, bricks and bread when we get our wheat crop in.

Pip should only take as many women as he feel comfortable with and still can be productive.
>But that said, he should become closer to the oldest boy, teaching more about the ways of the animals and wolves.

Uru and his team of the best boat builders and craftsmen to keep building and working on the large ship.
>Uru has the idea to name the ship Illeo when asked why he says for a proper aplogie to Illeo.

Nali should use her carpentry skills to make the first barrel, making it possible to be the wine sit and age in the cold underground of the cave.
>Also you know, it's a good way to store all kinda of things.

Apar should teach Yuno better house building but Apar should help for this month. Have them set out to expand the fields and start clearing a space for a tall cylinder structure near the crops.
>We're slowly gonna build a wind mill, starting by just getting a space for it.
>mud bricks have to be made like this month m8.

Then have Vegita, Mari and with Ril together to make a design for a horse drawn plough, where a horse carries a large tilling spike and you know, practice riding the horse.
>Basically a long way to say horse drawn plough.
>Also Ril should have a idea for the wheel and horses.

Faun, Rowena and the children should all go out and start collecting herbs and berries along with taking a bow and arrow to get some pratics.
>Have the children do most of the non important things like weaving, collecting plant and seaweed colecting and shit.

One of the Lumpur astrologers should start tracking the sun, moon and tides, coming up with a simple seasonal calendar.
>It's the first step towards having years and days and shit.

Also let the Lumpur people set up a festival in honor of their old culture.
>If we limit the spread of Lumpur culture to one day a year it won't spread as much.
>Plus the Lumpur people will be happy they get to keep a small part of their culture.

This is just my work internet access, it was still me.
>Also I'm trying to cut down on my posts.

Another month passes.

Now that you understand agriculture, an effort is made to create an organized "crop" of peach trees, similar to the orchard on the island. It will take years for them to grow and bear fruit, but will be quite the benefit when ready.

With the harness successfully developed, it isn't a far stretch till a fitted saddle that stays on is finally developed. This allows for much easier horse riding and control, though requires the use of saddles and reigns to ride the horse. The idea of the wheel is also taken into account, but is only barely approached.

Rick and Rowena try to foster better tribal relations, not only stressing the monthly meetings but also giving more importance to the weekly rest day and evening celebrations and tribal time. Overtime, this slowly increases group bonds.

The construction teams while continuing to develop the lake/riverside houses, keep up with the effort to not just make more rounded longhouses, but actual walled and roofed houses, mostly out of fitted wood.

Furthermore, an active effort is made to start gathering goods specifically intended for trade to the purples, to maximize what you can get to and from them. A big component of this are plants and herbs specific to the forest/lake region.

Lastly, Rick tries to improve on his booze making, now with help. He is able to increase the amount produced but also the quality with a new development,

I don't mind long posts at all, again I welcome them because I like the creativity and the length makes my job easier.

>>208377

In the full swing of summer, harder heavy labor is less often practiced in favor of common labor and that pertaining to the lake and river.

There is an idea starting to be formed, about a building where specifically things are heated, fired and even cooked. The idea comes from the pottery kilns you already have, but in time it could be expanded to something much more complex. As a big structure with proper shaping and such for ventilation, it will take time. Any particular place it should be located in the tribe lands?

Pipin keeps to three women a week, fairly stressed and unhappy about it but still somewhat able to perform other duties. In particular mentoring the eldest boy to follow in his footsteps.

Finally after their time and effort, the ship building team makes the hull of a proper large ship, about the size of a longhouse. It is waterborne and currently able to be piloted about the lake with rowing power, but you will continue to experiment with sails. If nothing else though, it is quite an impressive feat and everyone in the tribe is proud of it and what the tribe accomplished with it. As such tribal unity improves a good amount, and often the ship is taken out by groups of people just for fun.

It is Nali that with her developing carpentry skills comes up with the idea for a sealed barrel though, getting the idea from the sealed hull of the ship. This advancement may come in great help later on, but immediately assists in Rick's booze making, especially towards the quality in how it can be stored for a longer time now.

Apra and Yuno meanwhile seek to expand the farmland, and create a kind of structure dedicated to the farming process, which will be combined with Ril's wheel idea. Maybe it will be a granary, maybe it will be a mill, or something else, but the plans of a construction project are set upon. They are met with challenges though, in not knowing the advancement of masonry, to figure out how to make the building as tall and sturdy as it would need to be.

Cont.

>>208377
A very primitive plow is designed, basically just a large wooden stake spike stuck in the ground and pulled upright by a horse harness. Still, it basically serves its purpose and eventually can be improved upon with use. Also there's hints of an idea to combine the wheel idea with horse pulling, but that's still a bit complicated for now.

Faun and Rowena in childcare duties, begin to teach the children foraging skills as well as basic archery. In general they are starting to be taught and given the responsibilities of very basic work and labor such as simple foraging and textile work.

The Lumpur woman who has some basic skill at astronomy, also with the help of others starts to work towards a seasonal and weather calender. This is the most basic step though, and will take a few years to properly develop. The benefit given though will obviously be important.

Lastly, as a gesture of goodwill, there is allowed to be a Lumpur cultural festival, perhaps once a season. This will expand on the basic cultural value of the tribe, as well as the happiness of the Lumpur peoples. Some care may be needed overtime though, as a festival like this reduces the rate that Lumpur identity is eroded, and indeed rather starts to combine Sanger identity with it rather than the one completely overwriting the other.

For now, a simple festival isn't a threat, but further or larger endeavors could pose a challenge and risk to demographics.

>Moving forward, what to do? Fall will be approaching within the next couple months.
>>
Also same as last time, when the thread reaches page 10, expect the last turn or two.

I'll make the next thread in a couple days after that I think, to give it a little break.
