Trying out my first Quest Thread, hoping that others love monsters, questionable moral codes, and psychological horror as much as I do. All art is drawn by me.

The fetid stench of stagnant water seeps into your very soul. Your brain screams for you to rouse from your involuntary slumber. Darkness yawns around you, with a bright gash of light filtering into the cave you seem to be inhabiting. Your body is currently resting on a soft mass, stinking water covering your legs and hips. The stink of death has bled into your skin, you're going to smell terrible for days.

Lifting your head is a task in itself. Your skull feels like it's full of lead weights and your neck complains from having held a particularly awkward angle for so long. The harsh light at the opening of the cave makes your head pound and eyes sting.

You have no possessions, and you find that you also have no clothing. You don't even properly recall who you are, just that your last memory was running away from something large. Was that hours ago? Days ago? You are uncertain, and the frustration makes your headache worse.

We've been here for an unknown amount of time and are not dead, so it's probably a relatively safe spot. Probably best to stick around for at least a few more moments to try and catch our bearings.

You push yourself up and get your footing on the slick floor of the cave. It seems like agitating the water makes it stink worse, but you're quickly becoming nose-blind to the horrific stench. Your head spins and your lungs burn, able to take a full breath after laying on your stomach for a while.

Your eyes sting while you look towards the bright mouth of the cave, and instead you turn towards the more pleasant darkness behind you. Perhaps you stashed your clothes in a more safe place back here? Maybe there was another way out.

Wading through the murk, the semi-warm liquid only gets deeper in places, and occasionally you stumble over the strange, wrinkled, soft ground. You can hardly see, and you feel your eyes straining in the dark.

Guys, we are heading inside a VERY DARK CAVE feeling down, naked and with no lights whatsoever! Are you sure about this? ._.

There might be some kind of awesome mother-earth spirit waiting inside to give us some cool powers... but I can't see her from here!

The water is past your waist now, and you've stubbed your toe a couple times on some very solid, sturdy rocks. The smell is no longer bothering to you, though a sharp whiff of particularly foul smelling air makes your stomach roll. The sound of the water being disturbed is enough to sound like a rushing river in your ears.
There are some pinpricks of light in your vision, or perhaps they are on the walls of the cave? It's hard to tell.

Further into the cave you go. The mouth of the cave is still behind you, but it's not letting enough light in this deep for you to really see. What you do see, however, are many more small, glowing circles ahead of you. Now that you're nearer to it (whatever "it" is) you can see that some of them are starting to shift and sway in the darkness.

Dozens more begin to appear, and the glows are enough to cast a little bit of light onto you. The way they sway and shift, it's mesmerizing.

So you've made a mistake.

The horrid worm-like creature screams and slams into your chest, knocking the wind out of you before you crash into the water with it. A hot pain burns your chest as it feels like a cheese grader is taken to your pectorals. A squirming, muscular body flails about as the scraping mouth of the worm pummels the broadest areas of your body. You are bleeding, and the rest of the colony starts to hiss and scream as the scent of fresh blood is in the air and in the water.

Your heart is pounding as you struggle with the creature wrapping around your body, crushing the breath from your lungs. Your outlook is bleak if you don't think fast.

Dig into it with your nails as best you can, and try to tear a hold...It looks...squishy-ish, so maybe we can tear it apart? Adrenaline's probably helping right?

Try to have sex with it. Maybe they're just looking for sum fuk.
>>
>>157510
See if we can make it bleed (biting scratching etc) then punt/push it back towards it's fellows since they seem to want blood, then of course run like hell.

Since the water only came up to your waist, there isn't any way to go much deeper.

The fear that has a tight grip on your being makes you wail your fists into the worm's squishy, spongey flesh. The splashing and screeching agitates the colony though they hang back away from their struggling kin.

The flesh gives beneath your fingers and teeth and you are rewarded with the beast curling violently in on itself with a grating scream. It flicks its body (and you) and slings you away from itself. The colony hisses and shrinks back.

Thick, wet, squelching sounds shudder through the cavern, though you can barely hear over the roaring in your ears. The glowing lights disappear into the rather fleshy looking walls.

You begin to splash and make your way back to the entrance quickly, away from the worm-wall.

You struggle back to the place you woke up in, passing the mound that you had been resting on. Your body aches and the scrapes on your chest and back burn with a raw sting, the raked flesh weeping small dots of blood. Your head is pounding and your throat is sore from inhaling the brackish water. The air seems fresher the closer you get to the entrance.

These things ran from us hitting them, and are likely hiding from the light. Worst case, we can run back and pit something bigger and meaner against them.

With the adrenaline making it impossible to sit still for too long, you gather your breath and wade towards the sharp light of the opening of the cave. As you squint and adjust your eyes to the light, you realize the cave itself is formed strangely. Rocks are covered in slime, and some shapes are definitely looking familiar to your eye.

The water only comes up to your hips still, and it seems like there aren't any other dips in the floor. Thankfully, your feet are on a very solid, rough surface, not unlike concrete. After your eyes adjust to the light, you see that you're in a massive cylindrical structure of sorts with an open top.
The thing you came out of has been dead a while, but not long enough to become bones. It's huge, and seems to curl with the shape of silo you're in. Along one of the walls are three tiers of numbers painted.

Closest to the water line is 00, the middle tier is 01, and the last tier near the top is 03. Some of the beast is blocking your view, so you decide to make use of the natural landmark and crawl up its arm.
