You awaken. You are inside a pod, surrounded by cold embroyal fluid. You tear out of your egg, hungering for the outside world. You are soon satisfied. Something isn't right however. It takes you a moment to realize: you can't feel the Hive Mind anymore. You panic, browsing with your mind frantically for something, anything to connect with. Soon enough, a calm presence enters your thoughts. "Calm my child," the voice says. "You are the first of my spawn, as I am the last of my mother's. I am the Splinter-Beast, and you will be my avatar on the battlefield. Now then, let's get to business shalt we? The system we're approaching has 3 viable targets. I leave it up to you to choose.

>Sigman IV
A desert planet inhabited only br the hardiest species.
>Pros: Easily defendable, and little threats.
>Cons: Little biomass

>Sigman III
A Hive city that is the home to a space marine chapter.
>Pros: Lots of biomass, good genestock.
>Cons: Heavily defended.

>Sigman VII
A Death World covered in swamp and in perpetual rain.
>Pros: Some biomass, no sentient
>Cons: Little info, the jungle is too thick to pierce.

(I'd like to say this right now. If you love canon, turn away. I will be making mistakes and diverging from the story.)
>>
>>146797
Of course the deathworld, where else?
>>
>>146797
Gotta go with the hive world.
>>
>>146797
>Sigman III
>A Hive city that is the home to a space marine chapter.
>Pros: Lots of biomass, good genestock.
>Cons: Heavily defended.
>>
>>146797
>>Sigman III
While not the safest it will give us greater rewards.
>>
>Sigman VII
Best place to build some momentum.
>>
>>146812

Backing. We'll get some good practice here
>>
>>146817
>>146821
>>146835
(Forgot to mention, first option to get 3 votes wins.)
You mentally point towards the heavily populated world. The Norn Queen mentally nods. "Very well. Also, as you will be my military commander, what will I spawn. I am disconnected from the Hive Mind, so I can only develop some basic bio-troopers. As we encounter new species I may yet adapt new bio-troopers. "

You have 3600 Biomass

Cost - 300 BM/trooper

>>
Sorry to those who posted while I was updating. Such is life.
>>
>>146882

Spend it all on hormagants.

ALL OF IT.

Let's zerg rush an urban center at maximum speed for an initial base.
>>
>>146882
I vote we get at least 40-50 hormaguants to help pad our hoard size.
>>
>>146895
Read my mind. ALL the hormagaunts!
>>
>>146882
>Rippers - 1700
10 with Tunneling Jaws

>Warriors - 680
2 With Adrenal Glands(20), Toxin Sacs,(20)

>Termagant - 1200
30

=3580
>>
>>146900
Never mind changing my vote to just zerg rush a place like the other guys said, that sounds the most fun
>>
>>146904
Agreed, fucking swarm some humies

Can I suggest that we take the gene-stealer approach? Create a human slave population that feeds us instead of just obliterating the population and having marines fuck us in our insect assholes?
>>
>>146917
As soon as we get 'stealers, I say we use them as shock troops, backed up with Hormagaunts during invasions.
Considering we're controlling a Tyrant rather than a Broodlord, I don't think the pure infiltration option will be available. For a while, at least.
>>
>>146882
Ayy, Op might wanna get a trip.
>>
>>146926
In that case we're gonna have to hit fast and reeeeallly hard

>>146909
Oh me oh my.

The Norn Queen almost seems to give you a...questioning impulse through the synapse waves but obeys your orders and begins the birthing process.
...
You make planet fall shortly, on the edge of a civilization. There is a small human city here, with a small military presence. Perfect for your first strike.

(Forgot to mention again: each species has a special attack value. Ripper species have an attack value of 0.5 each, Gaunts of 1, Warrior species 2, and you 5. For example, you now have Attack 79 because of 72 Gaunts and you attacking. The city's defense value is 60. You will roll a 1d100 every time I ask, and it to your current attack value. I will do the same with defense. The winner is the one with the higher result, and the difference between the two results will determine how much attack or defense is lost. I accept the first 3 rolls. Ready? Roll.

>>
>>146953
Well then. Seems I still have the same problem I did on tgchan.
You strike out of nowhere. They never see you coming, and by the time you leave the city is already dead and gone. Unfortunately, there was no really divergent genestrains in the city.

You now have 6000 biomass.
>Buy more forces (Specify)
>Scout out new cities (Roll 1d100)
>>
would roll but am newfag.

Then on words with the horde.
>>
>>147000

I'll back this. Let's diversify our horde.
>>
>>147000
I'll support we already have a shit ton of homogaunts
>>
>>146982
Hormagaunts, such quality value for money.
Let's get this death ball rolling: scout for more cities.

sure

You submit more birthing requests. Once again she submits a strange feeling, this time relief. Seems she had some doubts about you.

You now have 20 biomass.
>>146989
Sending out discrete scouts, you find a city a good bit bigger than the last one, with a space port in the center. However, this one has a small Space Marine garrison.

>Defense Value(DV) 135
>1350 Biomass, Space Marine Genestrains

Will you attack, or scout out another city?

You decide the city is too heavily defended. Fotunately, the next city you find is both easier to attack and holds some precious psykers, the one's humans call "astropaths".

Attack or scout?

>>
>>147149
>>147154
>>147156
Because 216 is greater than 175, you automatically win. Hurray ;_;.

This city is just like the first, razed to the ground and digested. You now have some psyker genes to assimilate into the swarm.

You now have 7700 biomass.
>Build more forces
>Go back and attack the last city
>Scout
>Research a genestrain

Keep this thread alive, gonna take a quick nap.

RESEARCH THE FUCK OUT OF THOSE PSYKER GENES

I would like to add some rippers after words. I think they upgrade into stuff and just collect bio mass for us.

>>147207
Yes! But how do we prevent the Marines to amass a force to destroy us? Were pretty much all in one place - ready to get stomped...
>>
>>147649
Marines need to catch us first son.
>>
>>147660
Tyranid guerrilla warfare?
>>
Or we attack one of the marine bases and extract memories about troop movement and strategies from the biomass - is that possible?
>>
>>147649
We keep investing in the most cost-efficient units, with some variety in case of enemy units with special rules.
Average sized settlements seem to be less than 200 Attack Points strong, so as soon as we hit 400 AP, and get some more Synapse creatures, we can consider splitting into two or more smaller armies to attack more smaller settlements at once. Then if we run into a massive settlement we can pool all our resources into one army and crush them easily.
Massed up, we probably want around 50 AP more than the defenders in general to be reasonably sure of victory.

Your most trusted warriors combine their intelligence to present to you a Psychic fighter, skilling in both close combat and psychic powers. They call it the Zoarnaut.

I was kinda hoping the battles would be more fleshed out than that, op.

Rolled 83 (1d100)

We need a few more to be at least equal to them.

4 Zoarnaut

10 Warriors with Deathspitters(50)

Leaving 2000 for later.

The new forces are soon birthed. The new warriors are AV 3, and I made a mistake with Zoarnauts. They are AV 3 all the time, and AV 4 against cities with psykers.

>>149322

You prepare your forces. It would seem that your nearby conquests caused them to build up defenses in preparation.

Whatever happened to being "Defenders of Humanity" Space Marines.

You now own this entire area. Before the Sergeant died, he sent out a message to the rest of the world, and the system. "Tyranids are on Sigman. All will fall."

Think you could flesh the fights out a bit? I'd really like to see something more than "You rolled well so you win". In the future could you describe the battle?
