Far off, nestled in an otherwise small Japanese town lies the Dark Gate Academy. An institution of tremendous size, the Academy holds a long kept secret. Unknown to the outside world, this unseemly town is home to a tear in our reality. A gate between our world and a bizarre dimension known as the Darkworld. The inhabitants of this hellish world breach this gate and attempt to flood into our reality and spread throughout the world on a regular basis. However, the Dark Gate Academy is home to students of truly extraordinary abilities. The ability to sense the presence of these evil Darkword creatures, and defeat them in combat, sending them back through the gate.

They cannot close the rift between our world and the Darkworld, but the students and staff of Dark Gate Academy have dedicated their lives to using their amazing powers to hold back the darkness that plagues our world, even if it costs them their lives. They have risen up to the challenge and in secret have become great heroic defenders of the world as we know it.

You... are not one of them. You are a transfer student. There was a bit of a mix-up.

>Previously on Dark Gate Academy...
A group was formed in order to hunt for the Human-like Darkworlder. On your first mission, you managed to get a name; Alice.

"Come on Akio, you owe me one."

Akio crosses his arms and shakes his head. "No way. Satomi? A nerd like that? With a guy like me? You must be out of your mind. Do you have any idea what that would do for my reputation?"

You knew this wasn't going to be easy. But you agreed to set up Satomi, the school nurse's creepy assistant, up with Akio, the most popular guy in class, on a date. In return, Satomi would promise not to let slip that you've got the same biology as a Darkworlder to the rest of the class. In a normal world, this wouldn't be an issue. Doctor-Patient confidentiality would be in full effect. But since you happen to attend the craziest school in the world, you'll have to comply with the whacko's demands.

You scratch the back of your head, trying to come up with something convincing. "Can't you throw her a bone? The girl really likes you."

Akio smirks. "Of course she does! Just look at me! Doesn't mean I have to date every girl who eyes me up!"

You groan. "Just the one date? Then we can be even for me helping you guys kill that giant goat monster thing... god, I'm angry that's a sentence that makes sense to us."

Akio raises an eyebrow. "And what's in it for you? Why are you so adamant about getting the lab assistant this little date."

"No reason. I'm just doing it out of the goodness of my hea-Okay, we all know that's a lie."

Akio smirks. Damn, you hate it when he does that... which is all the time. You hate Akio all the time. "So, what's your angle?"

Well, time to make something up. "Fine, she agreed to handle all of my schoolwork for the next month."

"Ha, really? Do you think she could do the same for me?"

"Yeah... sure, I'll add your work to that list," you mumble, waving a hand.

Akio nods. "Then you might just have a deal. We've got two safe days in a row, so I can easily take her out tonight, then dump her tomorrow morning. Pretty simple. Still..." he shudders, "I really don't want to spend time with a nerd."

You shake your head. "Dude, they're nerds... not lepers."

"Please, all those kids in the first two rows, bar Sayeka, are nightmares."

Also, it's good to be back in thread. Here is the gentle reminder on how everyone's waifu is shit. Not really serious, just for fun

Rei: Ill as fuck, have to get past the guard dog to even do anything with her
Saki: She is a stick in the mud...that is also stuck up her ass.
Nanami: Probably has scurvy
Akemi: Vacant space in her head. Clumsy as fuck and will break all that you love.
Akira: Eyes only for Rei. Still celebrates Halloween and beats up kids for candy.
Sayeka: Have to fight a horde to get to her. Passive as fuck. Likely too much emotional baggage to deal with.
Satomi: Will use you as an experiment.
Rini: Won't trust anything you say. Ass isn't actually best in class.
Nariko: Cat hair will get everywhere...EVERYWHERE!
Hoshi: You breathe on her and she will crumple like wet paper
Chihiro: She has loose lips...
Alice: Will probably eat you. And is definitely trying to murder you.
>>
>>117014
>Rini: Won't trust anything you say. Ass isn't actually best in class.

This has hurt me ever since.

But, Rei's is 100% worth getting past the Guard Dog.

What about Tekina, the nurse?

At the time, it was only about me slamming the student body, because that is where the majority of the "fighting" will be about. I suppose I could think up something silly if I really thought about it.

>They're not all bad, man.

Akio crosses his arms. "Are you serious? Oh yeah, I forgot about the huge crush you have on the Great Saki Kobashi..."

"What crush?" you protest. "If anything, she has a crush on me!"

Akio smirks, which you still hate, before doing that other thing you hate, talking. "Oh yeah, sure... Let's just all stay in denial."

You shake your head. "Believe what you want, dumbass. I'm outta here."

You wander down the hallway, and casually place your hands on the back of your head. Hmmm... to go to class, or not to go to class... if only all the questions in your life were this easy. You make a left, on your way towards the school courtyard, when you are stopped by a familiar voice.

"Ryoji! Am I glad I found you!"

The school nurse rushes towards you, almost knocking over a wandering Akemi in the process. As she reaches you, Tekina clasps her hands in yours, that scary look of excitement in her eyes.

"Oh no, please don't tell me you've come up with another experiment," you mutter.

"No! I just want to congratulate you on getting some kind of information out of the Darkworld girl! Even if it was just a name, the fact that you were able to hold a dialogue with this creature is astounding. You clearly have some kind of latent connection with the sunject!"

You hate thinking of how much you have in common with that thing. "So? What can you do with a name? It's not exactly a huge breakthrough."

Tekina shakes her head. "It is somewhat out of my area of expertise. If you had managed to gather a tissue sample, then maybe. But I can hardly run tests on the name Alice! However, one of your classmates feels he has an idea that can help, and he wants you to try it out! It's very experimental!"

She says the word 'experimental' like it's a positive thing.

>If it means me missing class, then sure.

"Excellent!" Tekina exclaims, clapping her hands together. "Not you missing class, though. You're education is still very important... but now that that's out of the way, follow me!"

She takes you by the hand and leads you... outside? "Hey, I thought we were going to your office..." you mutter, confused.

"Well, your classmate requested that you meet him here," Tekina explains. "This isn't a very scientific experiment, but I will take any advice I can."

Tekina leads you to the shade under a tree, where a boy with long brown hair is sitting cross legged, waiting for you. His eyes closed, her welcomes you. "Ah, Ryoji. So you've arrived. We haven't been properly introduced. My name is Sora. Please, sit down."

You shift your eyes towards Tekina, who smiles and motions for you to sit. This is what you're doing now, apparently. You sit opposite Sora, adopting the same position as him. In your school pants, it's not very comfortable. You worry you might just tear something.

"So... what is this? You going to magic some information out of my brain? Is that your thing?"

Sora shakes his head. "No, Ryoji. I'm not going to take anything from you. You need to come across the answer yourself?"

"Fantastic. Then you're purpose is...?"

Sora smiles. "I am going to help you. We are going to meditate together."

Meditate? Really? This is what you have to resort to?

"Fine, let's get this over with. I just... close my eyes and hum a lot, right? Then I gain enlightenment or whatever."

"The answers you seek require for you to look into your inner self," Sora explains. "Now, you cannot do that unless you know your inner self. To know yourself is to be honest with yourself. Now, tell me a great truth. What are you afraid of, Ryoji?"

"Uhh... nothing," you answer.

Sora opens his eyes and stares at you. "No, Ryoji. Right now you must throw away all sense of composure, strip away the armour you've built for yourself. This will not work unless you are truly honest. I require a great truth." He closes his eyes. "Now, what are you afraid of, Ryoji?"

Sora nods. "Everything?" he asks.

"Yeah, I'm scared of everything," you reply. "I'm scared of dying, I'm scared of needles, I'm scared of the Darkworld, I'm scared of Saki, I'm scared of learning too much about myself by doing this! You name it, I'm afraid of it. I've always been a huge coward. I can't remember the last time I did something that wasn't at least a little influenced by fear. Everything scares me."

Sora smiles. "I see. Doesn't it feel good to admit that to yourself?"

Damn, he's right. It does feel good to have that out in the open. You should yell the specifics of what you're afraid of more often.

"This is good," Sora states, "Now... close your eyes. Clear your mind of everything. Now, focus on that one name... Alice. Alice... keep that name at the front of your mind. Now, what do you see?"

Okay... Alice... Alice... Of course, you see the girl herself, or itself, or whatever. You remember the two encounters you've had with her. But that's not envisioning anything, that's just remembering stuff. Clear them from your head, Ryoji... what do you see? Wait...

It was brief, but your mind was met with a glimpse of a small, silver brooch. One with a small bee etched into it. A family heirloom, given to you by an old woman in town. The one you have in your pocket.

"You've seen something," Sora smiles. "Perhaps a glimpse into the answer you seek?"

>Not really, I just had the image of a brooch I own.

"A brooch?" Tekina asks, startling you. You didn't even realise she was still there. "Well, how long have you had this brooch?"

You shrug. "I don't know, less than a week? An old lady in town gave it to me at the weekend."

Tekina hunkers down and grabs you by the shoulders. "What? Did you get a name?"

You shake your head, and Tekina rises to her feet. "Very well then, I will go into town and search for this old woman! The two of you return to class!"

"Wait a minute," you ask, "Are you really so desperate that you're going to start a chase based of my random thoughts? Because I don't think the secrets of the Darkworld rest inside the girls' asses."

"This is no time to be crude," Sora replies, rising to his feet. "If you followed my instructions, then your vision means something. Perhaps not much, but a clearer vision will come with more time."

You roll your eyes. Nobody told you you'd have to do this again.

>Later

Stuck in class, you immediately zone out of whatever math problem Akihito is rambling about, and pull the brooch out of your jacket pocket. You examine it closely... there's nothing wrong with it. Nothing out of the ordinary, nothing that stands out. Just a regular silver brooch. You don't know what kind of connection with the Darkworlder. You don't even understand why anyone would want something like this.

"Where did you get that?"

Damn, you were so caught up, you didn't even notice the school bell ring, and now Chihiro was standing over your desk. You look up, and are surprised to see the expression on her face. Her usual cheerful and flirtatious demeanour were gone. Her eyebrows were furrowed, she was frowning, and she was glaring at you with genuine curiosity.

You look down at the brooch, then back to Chihiro. "This? Oh, some old woman pawned it off on me..."

Chihiro holds out her hand. "Well... give it to me."

"What?"

"You heard me. Give it to me. It's mine. That's my brooch," she demands, holding out her palm.

You raise an eyebrow. She sounds genuine, but if your vision is true, then there's no way it belongs to Chihiro of all people. Besides, the old woman said she had no relatives to give it to. And yet, Chihiro continues to glare at you angrily, asking that you hand it over.

>Fat chance. This doesn't belong to you. Beat it.

Chihiro places her hands on her hips. "Maybe the fact that it's mine! Ryoji, please. Just give me the brooch!"

She reaches forward with surprising intensity, but you pull your hand back. "If you want it so bad, explain why a little old lady gave it to me and said it was for her Grandson."

"That little old lady was my Grandmother!" Chihiro exclaims. "That brooch has been in my family for generations! It's my right to have it!"

"Sorry if I doubt your little story," you reply, "But the old woman said that once her grandson kicked the bucket, she didn't have any family to give it to! Explain that!"

Chihiro stops in her tracks. "She... she said that?"

"Not those exact words, but yeah."

Chihiro stares at the brooch, and her face scrunches up as her hand begins to shake. "Ugh, I hate you, Ryoji! I hate you!" she yells as she runs out of the classroom.

What the hell was that about?

Saki approaches your desk, curious. "Ryoji, did you say something hurtful to Chihiro?" she asks. "I've never seen her look like that."

You shake your head. "I didn't do anything! She tried to swipe this brooch an old lady in town gave me, and I wouldn't let her. Then, she just stormed out in a huff!"

Saki looks at the brooch in your hand. "Uh huh... and why did an old lady give you this? Seems a bit odd..."

Damn, does she always have to be this suspicious of you. Why were you given this brooch again? Oh yeah...

Saki takes the brooch off your hands and begins to closely inspect it. "Actually, I think I do..." She mutters, before offering out her hand. "Come on, follow me."

You look at her hand. "You know, I want to go. Don't need to hold hands, I can follow you like a normal person."

Saki looks down and blushes. "Oh... yeah... right. Sorry, I just got used to having to drag you everywhere. Let's go."

As you reach the door, you stop and place your palm to your head. "Oh, I just forgot!" you state sarcastically. "I have detention today? I guess I can't leave this classroom..."

Saki pauses. "Oh, okay... I guess I can show it to you after school then."

You drop your hand to your side. "What? Are you serious? This looked urgent."

"You can't trick me, Ryoji!" Saki boasts. "This isn't urgent enough for me to break a rule for! You stay in there and serve your detention."

"Very good, Miss Kobashi, I was just about to say the same thing!" Akihito states, rising from his desk.

Saki beams proudly, being the teacher's pet that she is, but that smile fades as Akihito pats her on the head for her service. Apparently, as much as she likes impressing Teach, she doesn't care much for being demeaned.

"Now, get to writing on those walls, delinquent!" Akihito yells, pointing towards the board.

>Fine, but do you want to stick around? You know, hang out?

Saki lets out a nervous laugh. "W-what? Hang out with a delinquent like you? During detention? With Akihito-sensei watching..."

You shrug. "Hey, it's your choice. I mean, Akemi will be coming around any minute now with treats, but..."

Saki's eyes shift around the room. "But I... I... fine, I will."

"You don't have to sound so reluctant," you reply.

"Just don't tell anyone I spent my lunchtime in detention," she mutters.

You shake your head. "It's not like you're serving detention yourself."

As you and Isamu get to work on writing your lines, Akemi burst into the room, falling flat on her face once again. Saki helps the young girl to her feet, who blushes in return. "Thanks Saki, you're a real Goddess!"

Saki raises an eyebrow. "A Goddess? That's a little too flattering, don't you think, Akemi?"

Akemi beams. "Nothing's too flattering! Besides, that's what Isamu calls you all the time!"

Saki glares at Isamu the hyper-active pervert, unamused. "I bet he does. Don't fill this girl's head with your filth Isamu! I know you're in here because you were trying to peek at the girls changing!"

Damn, you wouldn't have asked Saki to stick around if you knew she was just going to lecture people.

"Isamu, is this true?" Akemi gasps. "Were you trying to... peek at us while we were changing?"

Isamu falls to his knees in front of Akemi. He clutches her hands in his, and bows his head, his eyes seemingly welling with tears. "Yes, I admit it! I committed a foul deed, but understand this! I only did so because I was so desperate to bear witness to your splendid body! The natural form of a Goddess, the form that was meant to be seen. To be proudly displayed in front of all!"

Akemi stares blankly at Isamu. "Oh, If that's why you did it..." she smiles, "then I guess that's okay! I forgive you, Isamu!"

"What?!" Saki yells, confused. She then turns to you with a look of bewilderment on her face. "I... I don't understand them."

>You know, those two are pretty cute together.

>I don't understand it either, but it's free entertainment.

You casually grab a biscuit from Akemi's plate and start munching on it as Akemi and Isamu continue their nonsense back and forth. "So, you want to tell me about that brooch while you're here?" you ask Saki.

Saki nods. "Okay, so I recognise the little emblem on it, with the bee? I've seen it before on the notebooks and in pictures belonging to a boy who use to be in our class. Sho Takeda."

"Never heard of him," you reply, munching on a cookie.

"You should have," Saki mutters, "You raided his locker on your first day."

You nervously swallow down the cookie. "Oh... yeah, sorry about that."

"It's fine," Saki replies, "You didn't know he was dead at the time."

"So are you going to apologize for beating me up, then?" you ask.

Saki huffs. "No way! You were still committing theft!"

You suppose having Saki apologise for anything would be too much. "So, Sho must have been the old lady's Grandson... did he have any connection to Chihiro? Were they related?"

"Not to my knowledge," Saki answers, "and they share different surnames. I don't think they ever spoke, despite being in the same class."

"Ha, I knew she was full of crap!" you boast. "She just saw something shiny she liked, and decided she wanted it!"

"Do you really think Chihiro would be that greedy?" Saki asks.

"Yes!" you reply, "She's the most entitled girl in the whole damn school! She wants to be the centre of the universe... not to mention how she flirts with all the guys!"

"I don't know..." Saki mutters, "I just don't think she would be-Wait, she flirts with you?"

"All the time. Why, you jealous?" you smirk.

"... Shut up."

>Later

After detention, you sit through more boring classes until the bell rings and the school day finally comes to an end. After class, you are approached by Satomi... though you could smell her from a mile off.

"Hi Ryoji! Are you enjoying the perfume I've put on for my date with Akio! It's made from ant pheromones!"

You don't know what a pheromone is, but judging by the smell, you assume it's dung.

Satomi smiles. "You know, I just want to thank you for setting this up. It actually means a lot to me! And when me and Akio have our second child, I'll be sure to name it after you!"

Satomi laughs. "Of course not! He's going to love me! Especially now that I have my pheromone perfume. No man can resist this! I'll have him tangle in my cute little web, don't you worry!"

You sigh. This girl really needs to learn what terms are charming and which aren't. Satomi excitedly rushes out of the classroom, as Akio storms up to you desk.

"Ryoji, I hate you so much."

"This isn't news, but why?" you ask.

"That nerd has been bugging me all day about this little date of ours! Asking me all sorts of questions, making all sorts of demands about what she wants out of this, saying all this creepy stuff that I don't really understand because she uses big words. These damn nerds, man... this is going to be a nightmare!" he yells.

"Huh... do you want me to keep an eye on the date from a distance, make sure she doesn't stab you?" you ask.

Akio shakes his head. "Oh, God no! The last thing I want is someone actually seeing me on a date with her! And why do you say she'll stab me as if it wouldn't be odd for her?"

There's a long silence between the two of you. "Oh... damn it. This better be worth it, Ryoji!" he yells, storming out.

Well, that's going to be a huge train-wreck. But a deal's a deal, hopefully Satomi will keep up her end.

As you grab your back and step out of class, you are approached by Saki. "Ryoji, where are you going?"

"Back to my dorm. Is that a crime now?" you ask.

Saki shakes her head. "No, I just thought... you learned that Darkworlder's name, right?"

"Yeah... so?"

"So... that might be something to go off of. We should check the library and see if we can find anything on her."

>I guess. I don't know if we'll find anything useful.

>I guess. I don't know if we'll find anything useful.

Saki smiles, "Okay, Ryoji! Let's go!"

"Why are you so excited? Wait a minute... you just want me to go to the library for once, don't you?"

"Too late, Ryoji! You already agreed!" Saki yells, dragging you down the hall.

As the two of you arrive at the school library, you notice two things. Firstly, it's huge. There's no telling how many books line these old wooden shelves. Secondly, the place is next to empty, except for one blue haired girl leaning back in a chair at the front desk, her nose buried into a book. Saki approaches the desk and taps on it gently, grabbing the girls attention.

"Hey Hikaru, we just dropped by because we want to find something out," Saki explains.

Hikaru stares at the two of you, her eyes wide. She seems very surprised to see anyone in the library. "Oh, okay... what are you looking for?"

"We're looking for anything you can find with the name Alice," you explain. "Any kind of records or books... hey, look at this one!"

You pick up a book from the top of a pile. The front cover features a young girl in a blue dress, but that's not what catches your attention. The title reads; "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland."

"Please don't yell, you're in a library..." Hikaru mumbles, "But are you interested in that one. It's a good read."

"Yeah, sure..." you mumble, "I'm more interested in finding out more about this Darkworlder."

"The one that can talk?" Hikaru asks. "That's the talk of the school. I don't know what you expect to find out from reading Alice in Wonderland... it's just a children's book."

Saki laughs. "That sounds about Ryoji's speed. He can check through that, while I want to check the student records."

You grunt as you flip the book open and start scouring through the pages. Who knows, maybe there's some kind of hidden message inside. You sit down and get to reading.

"Wow, pigs can fly..." a voice mutters as you look up. Kosuke and Rini are standing before you, and Kosuke has a huge smirk on his face. "I wasn't starting to doubt you could even read, pal."

You chuckle, "Yeah... I'm just trying to find anything I can on this Alice... I don't think this book is going to do me any good."

It's true, you've been searching through it for over half an hour and you aren't getting anything from it. There's some obvious similarities, a young girl in a magical land, but those are hardly rare in fiction.

"Anything we can help with?" Rini asks.

>You said that girl spoke gibberish when she ran off. Do you remember what she said exactly?

Rini scratched the back of her head. "Not exactly, no... it was all nonsense. Something about a walrus... shoes... cabbages... pigs having wings, I don't know!"

Hikaru's head immediately perks up from her book as she hears that. As she approaches your chair, she begins to recite some kind of poem. "The time has come, the Walrus said, to speak of many things: Of shoes, and ships, a sealing wax, and cabbages and kings, and why the sea is boiling hot, and whether pigs have wings."

"Oh hey, I think we just found her," Kosuke remarks, pointing at the blue-haired librarian.

"No, it's The Walrus and The Carpenter!" Hikaru explains.

"The what and the what?" you ask, confused.

Hikaru sighs. "If you're looking for that poem, you've got the wrong book. You need the second one, Through the Looking Glass, and What Alice Found There."

You eyes light up. "So you're telling me there is some kind of connection between her and these books?" You smirk. "Whatever this means, we must be getting somewhere. Hikaru, use your nerdy librarian powers. Do you think the author of these books based these on that girl?"

Hikaru shrugs. "I doubt it, Lewis Carrol did base the character off a real Alice, but Alice Liddel was a young English girl who lived into her 80s. She wasn't some strange demon from another dimension."

"Damn... wait, do you have a copy of that other book? I want to check something."

"Sure..." Hikaru answers, as she pulls through a few shelves.

Saki returns from the back of the library, looking exhausted.

"Did you find anything?" you ask.

"Not anything conclusive, but there's something very odd about the records..." Saki mutters.

"And what is that?"

She pulls a sheet of paper from her pocket and shows it to you. "This school was founded 65 years ago... but look, the records for April and June of that first year are missing, and the class listings for the following months are already short on students..."

"Funny you should say that," you reply, opening up the book Hikaru handed to you. "Because in April of that exact year, this book was loaned out of the library by a girl by the name of... wait for it... Alice... something, her surname is illegible."

Saki thumbs through the sheet of paper. "There's no Alice in the class listings... whoever she is, she must have gone missing from the school early on... perhaps the first student to ever be lost by the Darkworld!"

"Even freakier is that any record of her being a student just so happens to be missing," Rini remarks. "Principal Wei was a student at that time, right?"

Kosuke nods his head. "Yeah... hell, he would have been in her class. I could try to set up a meeting with him tomorrow, find out if he knows anything."

"Good luck," Rini remarks, sarcastically. "If those records are missing, you better believe it's part of some big cover-up!"

"What?" Saki asks, offended. "I don't like what you're implying. My Grandfather would never-"

Grandfather? Well... that explains a lot.

"Hang on... Principal Wei is your Grandpa? Why did you never mention this before?" you ask.

Saki shrugs. "You never asked! It's not that odd... Akihito-sensei is Akio's uncle!"

"What? Why does nobody tell me these things?"

"Yeah, well I don't trust your Grandpa one bit!" Rini yells, as Hikaru places her hand to her forehead in annoyance. "If you ask me, we shouldn't bother!"

"It's worth a shot at least," Kosuke replies. "I'll handle all of that, and I'll tell you guys what I find out tomorrow."

With that, Kosuke and Rini leave the library, with you flicking through the pages of the book. "I don't understand, Sak... can't you just arrange a chat with your Grandpa right now?"

Saki tugs on her shirt and looks at the ground. "Well... he doesn't really... talk to..."

She trails off, but you've heard enough. Not really any of your business anyway.

As you try to think of something to break the awkward tension, Akio bursts into the library, slamming the door closed behind him, as he begins nervously pacing.

>Hey Aki, how's the date going?

Akio's eyes widen as he sees you. "Terrible! That nerd is clingy, creepy, rude... We were walking around campus and saw this kitten, and she decided to tell about this time she dissected a dead one, and gave me very, very graphic details of what their insides look like! I don't care about homework anymore, I couldn't take it! I ditched her as soon as I could!"

Before you can say anything, you and Akio are startled by the sound of Hikaru slamming a book hard on her desk. "Do any of you people know how to use your indoor voices! This is a freakin' library!"

Well, looks like her temper's starting to come out... maybe you guys could have been a little quieter.

"Well excuse me! I just had a traumatising experience!" Akio shouts back. "Besides, it's not like there's anyone else here! I can yell if I want! In fact, I will!"

"You want to yell?!" Hikaru screams. "Then fine! I'll just yell back! Maybe your date will hear us and come rushing in!"

Akio shakes his head. "No way! I don't want to spend another minute with Satomi Mashimo!"

Hikaru pauses, then laughs. "Satomi Mashimo? You were on a date with..."

"Yeah, yeah, laugh it up..." Akio mumbles.

"I hate her. She's the worst," Hikaru replies, surprising Akio.

"You do?" Akio raises an eyebrow.

"Yeah! She's such a creep. You know I was first choice to be Tekina's lab assistant? Then Satomi begged and whined until she got the position instead?"

Akio laughs. "Yeah, that sounds like her, all right."

Hikaru smiles. "Jokes on her, though. As librarian, I get to read whatever I want in peace and quiet, most of the time. She's stuck working with the school nurse, who's even more of a handful than Satomi is!"

There's a brief silence, before Akio outstretches his hand. "I don't think we've properly spoken before. Hikaru, right? I'm-"

"Akio, I know. You and Seishiro occasionally hit me in the with all those love notes you aim for Sayeka. Yours are so cheesy."

"I think you mean passionate!" Akio protests.

"I'm a librarian, I know what words mean. Your writing is cheesy."

"Oh come on! I'd like to see you do better, Miss Shirai!" he smirks.

The two share a laugh, as Saki leans towards you. "Is he...?"

You don't think he even realises it yet, but Akio... the most popular guy in class, is willingly flirting with a nerd.

Saki stifles a giggle. "I don't see any reason why we shouldn't," she says. "Come on, let's give these two a little privacy..."

The two of you leave the library as Akio and Hikaru continue to chat away. You begin to walk down the hall as you make your way towards the dorm.

"So Ryoji..." Saki says, walking by your side, "What's bothering you?"

"Huh? What do you mean?"

Saki shakes her head. "Don't bother pretending. You're a good liar, but I've been examining you enough to know when you're trying to deceive people, like the delinquent you are. You've had a worried face since the moment you found out about that girl being a student here. Something on your mind?"

Damn, her paranoia towards you is starting to pay off. You didn't want to say anything in the library, but that discovery has left you worried. You were already concerned about the similarities between you and this Alice girl... to find out that she may once have been a student just like you is even worse. Still, you can't say anything or else your secret will be out. Then again... Saki's pretty trustworthy, right? Maybe you could tell her...

"Ryoji! There you are!" Satomi cries out, bounding towards you. Oh no, this won't be good. "Have you seen Akio anywhere? I seem to have lost him..."

"Oh... well I... uhh..." you mumble, taken off-guard.

"I'm sorry, Satomi, but he left you behind," Saki says with a look of concern. "He just isn't interested in you..."

Damn, Satomi might not be able to smile without looking creepy, but she sure knows the right way to look devastated. The girl clutches her test and crumples onto the ground, with her knees pressed up to her face as she leans against the wall. "B-but... I wore a special perfume and everything..."

You sigh and hunker down to her level. "Look, it sucks that the date didn't work out, but does this mean that you're going to tell people..." you whisper, low enough that Saki can't hear anything.

"Don't be silly, Ryoji... I was never going to tell anyone in the first place," Satomi whispers back, before returning to her regular speaking voice. "But why would he just... leave me behind like that? I thought the date was going well..."

>Satomi, I think your people skills need some serious work.

Hey man, we can't even decide between Saki, Rei, Natsumi, Rini and Akira and that's not even combining with our thoughts of being part Darkworlder, nice girl ass and Holes.
>>
>>119373

Eh, Not-Best-Ass-in-the-Class Rini londa knocked herself outta my runnings, and I was the only one really routing for her, currently, Rei and Saki seem to be the only ones we as a whole really like.
>>
>>119355
Maybe we could tell her to be more spontaneous and think less?
Humans are too complex to really understand truly, so maybe not giving a shit would help.

I know, I wasn't suggesting it was now or had been changed, I was jus' saying that if it was white hair from the start and all.

>>119373

>Satomi, I think your people skills need some serious work.

Satomi pouts. "What do you mean?"

You take a deep breath. "Well for one, when we first met, you stabbed me with a syringe. That's a classic red flag, and you probably shouldn't do it again. Secondly, it's cool that you're into science and everything, but some topics aren't appropriate at certain times. People respond poorly to being told about kitten dissection while they're admiring a kitten."

"I see..." Satomi pulls out a notepad and starts jotting things down. "Go on..."

"What? Oh... okay. When you smile, you shouldn't force it. It's supposed to come naturally. If I can see your gums, you're smiling too hard."

"Interesting..." she mutters.

"Also, you shouldn't be too forceful when talking to people either. People like being talked to, not talked at."

You run down a list of Satomi's other character flaws in quick succession, and with each one Satomi carefully takes notes. At the end, she smiles. "Thank you, Ryoji. These findings will prove extremely useful..."

As she stands up and walks away with a smile, you're left confused as to how that helped. "You're... welcome? I guess?"

"That was a lot of... constructive criticism," Saki mutters. "A lot. Do you make a mental note of everybody's flaws like that?"

"Obviously," you smirk, "I'd got through your list, but that would take all night."

"Shut up."

The two of you return to the dorms and as you pass by the door to her room, Saki tugs on your sleeve. "You never told me what was bothering you."

You shrug. "You're right. I didn't."

"You don't have to," Saki explains, "We're not friends, so you don't have to confide in me. You have Kosuke for that. Still, you help me out a lot yesterday, and I can't help but be a little worried..."

You laugh. "You're worried about a no-good delinquent like me?"

Saki smirks. "Blame my caring heart. I've also never stepped on a bug. But yeah, I am worried about you, Ryoji."

There's a tense silence, as Saki scratches her left arm nervously.

"So, uhhh... I guess that hug was a one time thing, huh?"

>I guess so. Thanks anyway, Sak.
>I mean... it doesn't have to be.

>I mean... it doesn't have to be.

Saki gives a small smile. "Really?"

You shrug. "Yeah, I think it could be stretched out to a two-time thing. Three at the very most."

Saki laughs, and walks over to you. She places her arms around your waist, and she squeezes tight. The first hug between you two was long, stilted, and awkward. This one however, was short and sweet.

After a moment, Saki pulls away and smiles. "I hope you feel better, Ryoji. I'm here if you ever need to talk... especially if you want to confess any crimes you may have committed..."

You laugh, "Don't push your luck, Sak."

Saki opens the door to her room and pauses. "You know, I actually enjoyed hanging out with you in detention today."

"You should join us again sometime," you reply.

"Maybe I will..." Saki answers back, "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go vomit for saying those words. Goodnight, Ryoji."

"Goodnight Sak," you say as she returns to her room. You're just about ready to retire to your room for the night when you notice Chihiro sitting in the lounge. She looks sad, which apparently now means it's your job to say something meaningful to cheer her up. At least this time it may have something to do with you.

"Hey..." you mumble, approaching her.

Chihiro looks at you then turns away. "I don't care if you don't believe me, Ryoji. That brooch is mine."

>Maybe you want to tell me your side of the story before I believe you.

Chihiro folds her arms before shuffling across on the sofa and patting beside her, offering for you to sit down. You do, and immediately Chihiro shifts onto your lap, and wraps her arms around your neck.

"What the hell do you think you're-"

"You ruined my day, Ryoji. Let me have my fun," she pouts. "Besides, I want to be as comfortable as I can when I tell you my story."

You sigh. You suppose you did sign up for this the moment you decided to talk to Chihiro. "Fine, go ahead."

"That brooch you have is an old family heirloom of mine. The woman who gave it to you was my Grandmother. She's lived in the town her whole life. Her sister was even one of the first students in this whole school! She had two kids, my uncle and my father. My father was the older of the two, and by family tradition, that brooch was supposed to be his..."

"What happened?" you ask.

"Well, Daddy was ambitious. He didn't want to live in this horrid town for the rest of his life! He started his own car company, and he made it huge! Left the town, found a wife, bought a mansion, and had a beautiful baby girl... me!" she smiles.

"Still... Grandma never forgave him for leaving the town behind. She disowned him, and vowed never to speak to him again. And why? Because he was smart? Because he found success?" Chihiro's smile wanes very quickly as she speaks of her Grandmother. "My uncle and my dad still talked a lot. Uncle was very nice, he said that he had turned down the brooch, that it wasn't his to take. It was my father's to have. My Uncle passed away about four years ago... his funeral was the first time I saw my Grandmother... but she refused to speak to me or my father."

Chihiro hugs around your neck tighter, pressing herself against you. "Anyway, when I was shipped off to this school, I was happy to learn that my cousin Sho was in my class. We used to play all the time when we were children, except... after his father died, he had gone to live with Grandma... when I tried to talk to him in class, he would always look away and ignore me. I hated that. I hated being ignored. I hated it so much that I didn't shed a tear when he was killed in the Darkworld. I still feel guilty... but I couldn't bring myself to feel sad about his death."

Chihiro frowns and slowly breaks away from you, shifting off your lap and sitting properly on the sofa. It seems she's no longer in the mood to play, not even a little. "After he died, I thought that maybe my Grandmother would be forced to recognise me, my place in the family line. I held out hope that she would finally notice me, and give me what I rightfully deserved."

She looks down at the ground. "I know it must sound so silly. It's just a stupid little pin, but... I need it."

>Then it's yours, Chihiro. I'm not gonna deny you this thing.

Chihiro's face lights up. "Really? You mean it?"

You pull the brooch out of your pocket and hand it over to her. "Sure, what am I supposed to do with it anyway? If you really want it, it's yours."

Chihiro's holds the brooch in the palm of her hand and stares at it with pride. "Oh, Ryoji... you're an absolute sweetheart."

"Well, don't say that. It's bad for my image," you joke.

Chihiro smiles, "Oh, if I didn't just witness that adorable scene between you and Miss Kobashi earlier, I would kiss you!"

Your eyes widen. "You saw that?"

"Of course I did! But don't worry," she places a finger to her lips and winks, "Your sordid love affair is my secret to keep. I promise."

Oh boy. At least she's back to her usual self... if you can call that a good thing.

Still, you can't help but feel disappointed. That meditation mumbo-jumbo with Sora turned out to be completely useless. Sure, you helped out Chihiro, but you were looking for some kind of lead to the identity of the Darkworlder Alice. But now this trail of breadcrumbs has been scooped up by the birds. What a waster of... wait a minute...

"Chihiro, did you say your Grandmother's sister went to this school?" you ask.

"Yes, my Great Aunt. Why do you ask?"

"What was her name?"

Chihiro pauses, and places a finger to her chin. "Well, my Father always called her my aunt Alisa, but..."

"But...?" you say, trying to lead her to an answer.

"It wasn't her birth name. See, my Great Grandfather was from England, so he gave his daughters English names. My Grandmother was Charlotte, and my Great Aunt was called Alice."

Well... there's your lead.

Thanks for running Booker. Not sure if I'll write that Piratebooty story or not. May kick back for a bit. I expect all of this to stem from someone fucking with magic that was way out of their lead.
>>
>>119880
>Future character revelations

Besides hoping for Pirate-Rider to happen, if that counts, I'm gonna stick with the earlier theory that Saki's obsession with rules stems from 'trying to be a good granddaughter' as much the whole 'fucking hell how can I keep everyone alive and feel as un guilty about deaths as possible, but in fact her grandad just wants her to open up, enjoy herself, and let loose a little bit. and that's exactly why he let us into the school
>>
>>119889
>Not sure if I'll write that Piratebooty story or not. May kick back for a bit.

It's your choice anon, but I'd personally love to read it.

>>119885
"So, Chihiro... you wouldn't have any pictures of your great aunt or anything, would you? It would really help with the, uhh... search..."
>>
>>119841
I guess it's partially due to the fact that some don't want to progress the story too quickly. This doesn't solve Chihiro's big family issues, just puts it to the side. And I guess some wish to wait and keep on developing everyone wholesale.

I dunno though, that's just me as an outside observer here.

>>119854
That IS quite a reveal though. The fact that we're starting to see more and more family intertwined with the current students can only be a good thing for the story. Bet a lot of people are going to keep popping up with issues related to the academy now.

That said, it does beget a further question. What is our connection? Yeah, sure it "was a mistake" but at this point it seems naive to think that.

>>119880
Good thread mate, as usual. Of course that does mean I'm out of quests for the evening unless one of the others picks up again. Oh well. I suppose I can wait until the meat of this weekend.

Player Questions:
Well the obvious one is who else is connected and related to whom? There are clearly several little ones out and about. The most pressing and interesting ones are Chihiro and Alice, Akio and Akihito, Ourselves and the School and Saki and the principal.

I also am more interested in the extra relationships that are starting to develop, both positive and negative. We're going to need a fucking chart to keep up with the relationships soon though.

So here is a question as just a general anon to all my fellow players. It's been over a week now, and some impressions we got on characters have obviously changed, who have you changed the most for?

Pretty sure for me it's Akira, Satomi or Chihiro. In the case of some of them, they still aren't great people, but I care more about them than I did previously.

>>119995
Either he is super super intimidating because he really really wants to kill Darkworlders or...

He's chunni...Effective at his job...but still chunni...
>>
>>120003
Anon, again, I'm sorry. There is no reverse trap in Class 2.

>>120004
>>120010

Next time the class fights a Darkworlder, RULES OF NATURE will play.

A man whom is a giant robot made of 6 individual train robots.

Transformers did a 'Raiden' first, damnit!
>>
>>120020

I will be sure to have it on while writing up Chihiro, though I prefer Red Sun, There Will Be Blood and I'm My Own Master Now.
>>
>>120020
>spoiler
WHERE IS SHE BOOKER? TELL ME WHERE SHE IS SO I CAN MAKE RYOJI CAN STICK HIS DICK IN HER.
>>
>>120025
You guys are going to feel so foolish when it turns out you share a class with the God of Lightning.

>>120032
I told you anon, there isn't a reverse-trap character in Class 2.

Or Class 3.
>>
>>120041
Next he's going to say there is none in Class 1

Or in the entire city
>>
>>120041

Class 1 it is then.
>>
>>120041
OFF TO RAID CLASS ONE IT IS.
>>
>>120045
>>120047

>Implying the reverse-trap isn't obviously a member of the School's secret elite squad, Class 0

family, you're not even trying

I mean class 0 is either gonna be that, or its going to be some KND level stuff where its the name given to the ex-students and teachers etc
>>
>>120064
>Class 0
>Christmas cake reverse trap
"And what happened then...? Well...in 4chan they say
That anon's boner grew three sizes that day!"
>>
>>120047
>>120063
But Anons, there isn't one in Class 1.

Oh wait, yes there is.

Don't hold your breath for them, though.
>>
>>120128

We love you Booker, but you know there's no denying our brand of insane illogic, we just insist something's true until you agree, like Ryoji's dick-size.
>>
>>120128
oh boy, you've done it now, you've indulged them...

Maybe our fears about revealing our identity are placed in the wrong section. Maybe it's the other classes that will want to straight up murder us.
>>
>>120128
GIMMIE THE RT ASS BOOKER. I NEED IT TO SLEEP AT NIGHT.
>>
>>120177
There's so much more to get through before I start introducing the other classes.

Class 1 are the younger students who are still being initiated, you'll meet Class 3 before you meet them.
>>
Oh hey, booker, I have a question. I don't think it was ever discussed, but. What day/month/season is it? I feel like this would be good for us to know, for mostly silly reasons.
>>
>>120204
It's currently April, the beginning of the Japanese school year.

Also, you're the anon that gave reasons why all waifus a shit, correct? >>117014

I now challenge you to do the opposite. Sell your fellow anons on every waifu. Or don't, I'm not your boss.
>>
>>120186
>Class 1 are the younger students who are still being initiated, you'll meet Class 3 before you meet them.

Younger than us, and a girl pretending to be a guy? You'r gonna give theman a heart attack from excitement Booker.
>>
>>120222
I am, and I will try, give me some time. Hope you enjoyed them. Any favourites from the list?

I was personally fond of Rei, Saki and Nanami, myself.
>>
>>120226
I feel like no matter what I do, I'm giving someone a new waifu.

All according to keikaku.

QMs note: Keikaku means plan.
>>
>>120186
>younger
My boner deflates a little, but still strong.
>>
>>120250

Eh, I'm pretty smoothly on the Chihiro-Train, with occasional stops at Rei-Station, and supporting the OTT. Still though, always good to have more Waifus.
>>
>>120250
Is there any chance we will boost our abilities?
Also do the students learn new stuff about combat in class or even get powerups for their abilities
>>
>>120232
I liked Nanami and Akira's a lot.

Also Alice's for reasons that I won't share.
>>
>>120272

Would be cool, get more Darkworld abilities, increased strength or durability, sprouting blades from body parts, eye lasers.
>>
>>120288
>sprouting blades from body parts
Dude, bone swords and blood bullets.
>>
>>120288
I'd be more in it for seeing our friends become stronger. I mean, the persona jokes have been made, but them social links have to mean something right?
>>
Ive decided, fuck it, Satomi is my waifu, I shall drive this waifu train alone, and do so with pride.

unhinged science waifu best waifu
>>
>>120295

All of my yes. I maintain that if we get the 'Good Ending' Ryoji will become the Maou and rule the Darkworld with Saki as his Queen.
>>
>>120301

Just as the Chihiro-Train, we run alongside you, proud in our convictions. Keep true to your Waifu.
>>
>>120272
>Is there any chance we will boost our abilities?
I can neither confirm nor deny that.

>Also do the students learn new stuff about combat in class or even get powerups for their abilities
There tends to be a lot of sparring in gym class to hone their fighting skills, but the rest of the classes tend to be dedicated to a general education, because it's still a school, and the staff feel they have a duty to both teach these kids and make them feel like at least something is normal in their lives.

>>120301
Isn't it a good thing when you have a waifu all to yourself?
>>
>>120316
Booker, when do we get a fucking stand?
>>
>>120316
It is oh, so, so very good, Mr Booker.

it is lonely, but I only need cute blonde mad scientist girls for company anyways
>>
>>120325
Za DarkuWarudo?
>>
>>120222
The best I could do with short notice and the limited info we have on some characters, Akemi and Hoshi come to mind. Could have gone fouler with some, but I think you'll enjoy. Tell me your favourites guys.

Rei: Will train you into a healthier person. And you and her can go at it for hours.
Saki: Has an gooey caramel center that can't help but love you.
Nanami: Her lustfor you is second only for her lust for adventure. All the booty you could ever want.
Akemi: Make as many lewd jokes as you want, she'll not notice. Chick can bake. Has a way with 'machines' if you know what I mean...
Akira: Instant threesome: just add Rei!
Sayeka: Drop dead gorgeous, dating her means you've won where everyone else has failed.
Satomi: Has a lovely smile, never mind the gums. She will 'experiment' with you, and keep 'testing' until she gets 'results'
Rini: Ass is truly the best in class, and its alllllll yoooooooooursssssss
Nariko: Is as loving and affectionate with you as she is with her cats.
Hoshi: She smiles, and you will crumple like wet paper.
Chihiro: All the teasing and flirting you could ever want or need. Knows how to make a man spill...
Hikaru: Has access to the restricted section of the library, where all the 'good books are'...and Holes...
Alice: Older and wiser in ways you'll never be. Has an excellent taste in sweaters and a private zoo.
>>
>>120375
>Hikaru: Has access to the restricted section of the library, where all the 'good books are'...and Holes...

Damnit, had Ryoji at Holes.

"I like Holes, that book has principles, it informs how I want to live. Stealing shoes, saving small children, and eating fruit way past its expiration date."
>>
>>120389
"And fuck the desert, it's a shithole."
>>
>>120399

"Seriously, deserts suck. I'm telling you Sak, this book is life."
>>
>>120375
I like Hikaru's a lot there.

Nariko's is cute, but untrue. She'll never love anything as much as she does her cats.

And again, I like Alice's for reasons I won't say.
>>
>>120427
I considered adding one extra joke to Nariko's but figured that it was a low hanging fruit sex joke, and I made enough of those already.

Akira, Hikaru and Akemi were my favourites of this batch.
>>
>>120440
Akemi's is very accurate, too. I like it.
>>
>>120444
I really do want to spend some time with her when she and Isamu aren't playing a comedy routine. I think her pinging off Ryoji on her own would be a real treat.
