tl;dr
>Bobbit lived with his friend Jugger the hare in the lands of the hobbits
>one day a pyromancer from Arangea comes and tells them that Jugger is a wizard. The pyromancer also burns his home
>Bobbit and Jugger go south to find a way to revert Jugger's magic, otherwise he'll have to go to the isle of wizards
>they fight a Gvilder merchant
>afterwards a guard comes and kills Jugger

Between Faarowt and the great poppy fields, there was an empty strip of land which no nation had claimed. For many years this was just a small bit of trivia which people in the North-East of Giantstep shared as a fun fact, sarcastically saying that technically that meant that anybody could claim it and make their kingdom there.
Of course, that was meant to be just a joke, but that didn't stop a young girl from Florinth, Lucy, from claiming the land as her own. Nowadays Lucy is the only inhabitant of the eponymous "Lucy's land", though her friends visit her often and have great adventures of which there are sadly no registry, since none of them knows how to write yet.
All other nations have either accepted Lucy's claim to the land (jokingly or not) or remain ignorant of the fact it has finally been claimed. The emperor of Changrila formally sent Lucy a letter recognizing her dominion over the land and expecting tribute from her. Reportedly Lucy sent him a poppy flower, which is now proudly displayed in a beutiful marble vase at the imperial court of Fenqui.

I like the giant's handprint desert.
In a Star Wars FFG game I was in my character got his hand chopped off and vented out an airlock while we were in hyperspace. We made a joke that one time in our time of greatest need my missing hand was going to hyperspace bitchslap our greatest foe and save the day. But realistically it would just travel for a god knows how many aeons and end up finally impacting something else completely random. We called it the Hand of Kalee because my character happened to be a Kaleesh.
I like to imagine that it smashed the fuck out of some random fantasy continent.

So the ruler of the Blind Bastard's Domain claims to be the offspring of the Azan Emperor. Given Azan's seemingly lawful nature, what would the general response be if she could prove her claim? The Scabbard Range hosts some of the highest cliffs in the world, which makes travelling through that area quite difficult. Even sailing near the coast is difficult, due to how rocky the waters near that are.
>>
So we have desert tribes in Corteau canyon, Ogobo desert, Wailing desert, Bhakari Tribelands and Kinga Badlands.

What makes each of them unique
>>
>>84931635
Being lawfu doesn't mean that the Azannean emperor is going to give up the azure throne just because someone half the world's away has some claim.
Also nevermind that Renne doesn't even claim to be a legitimate heir of the late previous emperor of Azan, she claims to be a bastard. So even if it was true (and there's zero evidence), it wouldn't really amount to much.
Azan is also much stronger both militarily and economically, and has much stronger diplomatic relationships, having overlordship over the Asvaran, Oront and Gautlan, meanwhile the Blind Bastard's Domain is a pirate heaven, which means that its neighbors probably don't like them. Just wait 'til some dumb pirate attacks the capital of the Great Ra'ga, kills some high caste human, and the armies of crabmen wreck the BB'sD.

An anon listed the additions last thread, they all have some lore but not a lot.

The Frostlands of Khelek have some lore, but basically none.

Actually, I think I'll make an addition right now.

>No scholars have currently found any records of the founding of the kingdom of the Khelek, for it is older than many other nations and cultures.
>The first information that has been found about them is an immense, carving into a cliffside made somewhere around 10,000(change if needed) years ago that may have told the entire story of the Khelek.
>However, it has been worn away by the ages and the frost, and little remains.

<1: Beginnings.
>The earliest intact information in the carving tells of the king Neheket, seventh king of the Khelek, and how he built a great dam to cease the flooding of the river.
>The eighth king was Releven, who led a great army across the steppe and to the western mountains. There, he found the snow, and Ulek-Mol.
>The creature spoke to him of his people, of their prosperity, and how only he could lead them.
>He accepted this gift of lichdom, not actually demigodhood and became the champion of Ulek-Mol.
>He taught the teachings of subservience to the heavens, and constructed great monuments, creating eternal cold in these sacred sites.
>His soul would be the first to be devoured by Ulek-Mol.

<2: Strife.
>The twelfth king was Helek "the mad", who saught to construct a great bridge across the Leviathan Gulf to reach where he believed the heavens fly high in the sky atop the clouds that cast storms upon the Sea of Bile.
>His generals and diplomats and governors and family died with him in his folley.
>But some yet survived, a last beacon of hope. >His nephew, Thelen, sought to rebuild the kingdom with the governor Ralek.
>This would be no easy task, for there were many soldiers with no one to command them, and many people with no one to guide them.
>The priests saw the kingdoms weakness clearly.
>>

>but his horse was too skittish, it feared for its life
>and so Bobbit the Hobbit was stuck without delivery
>and his only hope was a log made of hickory
>in it, he hid, sure it wouldn't be enough
>that the sheep were too heavy, too boisterous and rough
>>
>"hold yourself tightly, good hobbit"
>said the knight to the frightened Bobbit
>but sheepish horde came upon him
>then he felt a heavy weight on his limbs

>and the hobbit fainted, sure of his death
>stomped by sheep, too many to tell
>and then he thought dying wasn't so bad
>for meeting Jugger again would make'im glad

The far south is meant to be a weird land full of strange things though. We have the desert full of aliens, the eldrtich jungle and the steep fall where the world ends. I don't see what's wrong with a land of living objects. Seems to me like one of the few ideas that we haven't thrown into the map.

Nobody really know where the mysterious trees of life come from. Some religions believe they are blessed by the Goddess of Life, after breathing cold air from the highest mountains and sneezing, spreading her blessing throughout the land and carried by the wind. Others think they are the spawn of vengeful demons and forest spirits, to try and get vengeance on those who enter the forest to chop their homes. Whatever its true origins are, this exceptional trees are said to bring to life whatever item created out of their wood. This not only makes them act like living beings, even giving them limited movement and flexibility, but also a limited conscience, becoming more and more sentient the longer it lives. However, it is said that the beings born out of this magical wood lack a certain spark, either becoming wrathful and vengeful or losing all sense of empathy. Many wizards advise against creating items from this magical trees, least their creations become the undoing of their creators.

Also, the trees of life are not a singular species of trees. There's been reports of trees of life coming from near every single species of tree in the world, albeit the cases are extremely rare. To make matters worse, there's no external difference between a tree of life and a regular tree, so you never really know if your creation will come to life...
>>
>>84932125
The wood of the forest of getting lost is coveted and traded all throughout Giantstep, for it is strong, hardy, durable and resistant to disease, and above all beautiful with many tones from reddish to pale.
This had led to some serious deforestation in the past centuries, and it is believed that the many druidic circles which today stand around it's borders were originally created by people who sought to protect it from the ancient empires and their endless need for resources. Some have even said that the forest of getting lost once covered almost the entirety of Giantstep.
One of the strangest quirks of the wood of the forest of getting lost is that the furniture built from it sometimes... moves a little. It's not much, and in fact many people say that the idea that furniture moves on it's own is pure hogwash, among them the best wisemen of the Citadel, who have studied the matter many times and all their experiments came to the same conclusion, it's false. And yet, even the emperor of the azure throne of Azan feels like his prized lostwood drawer is an odd inch or two to the left of where he wants it whenever he enters his bedroom. Nobody has ever actually seen lostwood moving, but when they leave it for some time alone, undisturbed, it's not exactly in the same position when people come back.
Most pieces of lostwood are never able to move more than a little, but reports of entire pieaces of furniture disappearing with no trace has led some conspiracy theoriest to believe that a few select lostwood planks are capable ot achieving full sentience and moving freely. Nobody knows where they go, but some Joois merchants claim to have seen a land to the far south full of pieces of lostwood furniture. Ridiculous stories like that is why I never trust Joos myself, honestly.

I guess that Bobbit's lucky that they didn't have their way with him then

the Kingdom of Grobianismus known far and wide for his effectiveness in slaying and maiming disgusting peasants in their brutal and vicious revolts (In which they villainously demand to not be starving to death). he is considered a patriot and hero by the king and the nobility and is admired by many of the ladies in court as a tall dark and handsome brute.

The Chancellor of the sick and weak inbred nobles house Chancellor Constantine Farvello rose to power in their bureaucracy as one of the few men advising them who were capable of getting results. He has started making political connections with the merchant ctiy faction promising them influence over the affairs of his lord in exchange for their financial and political support. Not one to pick a side until the cards are drawn, Farvello also has amiable relations with the Healthy Noble Houses, placating them with flattery and gifts to appeal to their sense of pride. Farvello's ambitions lies far beyond the minor inbred noble house he is chancellor for and he seeks to take advantage of the conflict between the merchant cities and the Healthy Nobles for his own personal gain. He is currently in the process of acquiring an endorsement from the Healthy Noble Houses as for him taking the role of representative ambassador in (all interest) for his lord (which his weak and inbred lord has agreed to) in all diplomatic or executive matters regarding their dealings with the Healthy Nobles. At the same time he has convinced the merchant cities to invest infrastructure into his lords domain on the condition that he be given custody of the purse strings as representative of the local authority. He seeks to feed the conflict between the healthy nobles and the merchant cities and play them against each other to his own advantage. Gifted with a silver tongue and a knack diplomacy and stewardship Chancellor Farvello, whole currently a simple councillor for a n inbred weak noble house has limitless ambition. His grand plan involves him placing himself as a partial mediator between the merchant cities and healthy noble houses in their proxy conflicts and reap the rewards until he is powerful enough to make a bolder play. He is patient ruthless and extremely intelligent.

Some brainstorming on horde locations that haven't been touched on yet:
>Hundred Circles
A vast fortress of earth, wood and stone consisting of 100 concentric rings of fortifications. It's from this nigh-unassailable fortress that the New Horde launches its frequent raids. It's final rings are said to be nothing but chambers full of looted treasures and gold, but no stranger has ever managed to enter them, as even the highest foreign diginitaries are never allowed to travel further than the 77th ring.
>Opole
Opole is an important port city originally founded by colonists from southern Ceri. Eventually a deal between the rival kingdom of Susar and the Silver horde would lead to the siege and surrender of the city which would become a vassal of the Silver horde, significantly reducing the power and influence of Ceri in the region at the expense of Susar. Opole now serves as a window to the world for the Gökmavi Khagnate and has grown into one of the largest cities in the empire, almost eclipsing Tsa'agan and Kalai'urt.

In the many groves of the elfwood, trees glowing with a faint silvery light can be seen, putting all nearby at ease. Often at night the ponds and rivers glow with the light of the stars in the dark of night, as voices can be heard, singing songs and speaking. There are many blessed places in the lands of the elves, for they are entwined with and protected by the forces of nature.

In the northern lands of the Shattered Realms of Dysrvyth, governor Telek of Pueil rules over a province in the petty kingdom of Yvruin, but he aspires to more, he will be more than a mere governor. He will maufacture crises to solve, making friends with the king(a blunt instrument, but not without use) and earning respect as he does so, in his goal to unite the realms of Dysrvyth and all the Dysrvya people with he as their emperor.

In the eastmost regions of the realms, petty king Thyldesir of the Erukyr musters his armies to seek war with the duke Kanymyr of Olaener for a slight upon his family name(the capture and execution of his fathers uncle 90 years ago) by the house Olaener. Only once his great-uncles crown is reforged, and his realm with it, can he truly be a king!

On a lonely island, barely more than a rock with a shack, sits the former swordmaster Takal of Dyneu. He has considered his predicament for many long months, and now has made a plan. He shall meet with the king of Yvruin, apparently a cunning man and a master diplomat, and seek to join his knights so that he might atone for his failure at the battle of Ernim-Baru against the forces of the warmongerer Thyldesir.

The two little islands of Dsrvyth in the Troll territory are called The Principality of Twinstones or just Twinstones for short, led by Prince Lutor Trollsbane, a second son of a dishonored and displaced mainland human house who mounted an expedition to the islands to start a principality of his own. Over 15 years he has so far been able to repel every invasion by trolls and other ambitious fortune seekers looking to make a name for themselves which led to his nickname. Prince Lutor and his followers have taken up residence in and begun to rebuild the old castles on the island from a time long forgotten and have found considerable wealth hidden away while doing so. The remaining members of Prince Lutor's family have moved to the islands and changed their surname to Trollsbane, choosing to forget their former house.

Actually many types of elf exist, some are extra planar arrivals who are just copy pasted from other settings, others descend from wood/primal elves, who have the ability to mate with pretty much anything, creating countless subraces. So far "half-elves" refers to descendants of primal elves and humans, and are described as long lived and skilled

Also it may be useful to know that the now lost Khenomeric Empire is described as the original source of magic knowledge, though I don't think it says where they got it from.

>Azan Empire:

>History:

The Azan Empire has existed in one form or another for millennia. It is named after the ancient prophet Aza. However, some earlier iterations are now referred to as the Southwestern Dragon Empire by modern scholars.

Although the Empire’s early history has now faded into myth, it is generally agreed that Aza united the many human cultures of the southwest, plus a few non-human cultures, in order to defeat an ancient, now forgotten evil. An alliance with dragons was a key part of this victory, and over time, dragons became almost religious figures.

Made arrogant and self-righteous by these victories, the ancient followers of Aza swore to rid the world of all evil, and unit all goodly folk under one government and church. However, in the millennia that followed though, the Azan Empire made no lasting progress against the Khenomeric Empire or the Lands Behind the Hedge, though they were able to conquer the Western Elf Empire through generations of invasion and migration.

The Azan Empire reached its peak during the Eighth Dynasty (one millennium ago), but the poor handling of emergence of the Drow City-States to the west cost them the western part of the empire, and rattled the population’s faith in the government and church. The Empire went into a rapid period of decline, where many outlying provinces rebelled or got conquered by outsiders. This led to a civil war, where Changri-la, long one of two core areas of the Empire, tried to seize control from the western core area. Changri-la lost, but became a separate nation, splitting the Empire in two.

Deprived of much of their land, the elites in the political capital of Nananikor, religious capital of Siuerland, and eastern capital of Moridan relied on religion to help squeeze more money out of their remaining population. Although few dragons still associated with the Azan Empire at this point, some families with dragon heritage were able to exploit their associations and secure senior positions in the church. This made having dragon heritage highly advantageous, and although no one noticed it at the time, some families made deals with demons to give themselves the appearance of one with dragon heritage.

The Empire wallowed in stagnation for another century, losing much of its eastern portion in the process except a rump state around Moridan, plus a number of other territories.

However, it reaches a turning point when the bloodlines of the demon tieflings posing as dragon tieflings start to destabilize revealing their true nature, and it became public knowledge that many members of the church are part demon.

A purge of demonic tieflings (the dragon tiefling second purge, and earlier one slew most of the original Siuerland inhabitants during its reintegration into the Empire over a century earlier) occurs, but it is too late to restore faith in the church.

A reformer (and later Prophet) by the name of Alara Hiranur develops a “back-to-basics” version of the Azan Faith, now commonly referred to as the New Azan Faith, which stripped dragons of much of their religious symbolism, made serving in the church significantly less financially rewarding, and removed the church from many of its roles aside from providing moral guidance and running ceremonies.

Some areas, particularly Siuerland Province, refused to accept these changes and left the Empire, but overall the New Azan Faith restored much of the church’s moral authority and helped lure some provinces back into the Empire, while giving the Empire a certain amount of leverage over others.
>>
>>84935498

Since then, the Empire has continued to struggle, with many back and forth wars against the Drow, the loss of some of its sparsely populated northeastern territories to the Witch-Elven Empire, the loss of many outlying provinces to ethnic separatists, and the recent loss of Moridan to the formation of the Blind Bastard’s Domain.

>Government:

The Empire has long had Emperors, all allegedly descended from Aza, though many rogue and foreign scholars believe Aza’s actual lineage died out in the first or second dynasty. The role has bounced between being a position of power, and a figurehead role throughout the history of the Empire, though for the past few centuries it has definitely been a figurehead role.

Real power lies with the Advisory Council of the Azure Throne, a council of representatives (based in Nananikor, like the Emperor) from all the main noble families, whose laws and directives are in turn implemented by a large and generally competent government.

Ever since the reforms of the New Azan Faith, members of the church have been encouraged to avoid meddling with secular affairs, though there are many exceptions. Some regions and prominent families are borderline followers of the old faith, and it is not uncommon to see authority figures with dual religious and secular roles.

The Azan Empire is made up of a network of provinces (with governors, aka exarchs) and districts (with prefects) as well as a number of other specialized subdivisions.

>Economy:

The lands of the core Azan Empire are rich and fertile, and crops are protected and enhanced by specialized spellcasters, thus allowing for a huge food surplus, which supports a large number of towns and cities filled with artisans, merchants, scholars, entertainers, artists, and the rest.

Despite past periods of weakness, the Azan Empire has maintained much of its accumulated wealth over the millennia, and vaults, museums, and private villas are filled with accumulated treasure and masterpiece works of art. The cities, towns, and villas themselves are beautifully designed and organized, with efficient systems of water supply and sewage, some of which have been maintained for over a millennium.

The main exports and imports are generally luxury goods, since the Azan Empire and many surrounding states are self-sufficient.

>Foreign Relations:

Gvilderstaaten – A former province, it is not really clear when they left the Empire, it was more of a gradual process as more and more of the merchant elite gathered there, and used their influence over the council to grant themselves more and more exemptions. However Azan and Gvilderstaaten remain close.

Northwest Lands (Isle of Wizards, Calcabra, etc.) - Much of this area was once a part of Azan Empire, but broke off due to the poor handling of the emergence of the Drow City-States. Although the New Azan Faith has become popular in some areas here, overall the region is now too culturally distinct for anyone to seriously consider re-absorption into the Empire.

Drow City-States – Ever since their emergence from the underdark a millennium ago, the drow have been considered one of the main enemies of Azan, though the two secretly have a grudging respect for each other.
The Drow Marches (Hithlone, Last Remnant, The Triarchy, Terusia, etc.) - The areas bordering the core Drow territory to the south and east have changed hands countless times over the past millennium. Right now most of them are independent states, but historically they were under Azan or Drow rule as often as they were independent, and Azan still has plans to reincorporate some of them, particularly Terusia).
>>
>>84935536

Abandoned Provinces – Jibaro and Stymphalia are technically part of the Azan Empire, but due to their wretched swampy nature, large sections of each province have been allowed to be overrun with monsters. Hasteria and Aelar’Ra (which once included Warmog Forest) are also all but lost.

Unreliable Provinces and Special Territories – Gauntlan, Oront, Daligrad, The Joois Special Territory, Asvaran, and Ampleazzo are all technically all part of the Empire, but are essentially self-ruled.

Rebel Provinces (Siuerland, Kalydon, Blind Bastard’s Domain) – Although some have been lost for centuries, Azan culture is still strong enough in these former provinces that Azan wants them back.

The Southwest (Furlaniya, Changri-la, Dsrvyth, etc.) - Although some of these lands were once key components of the Empire, Azan has long ago given up on getting them back.

Witch-Elves and The Breaches – Hated even more than the Drow, the Succubi Queen and her proxies are considered by Azan not only to be the main threat to Azan, but the entire world. Unfortunately, the core segments of the Azan Empire are now too far away for Azan to bring a serious fight right to the Witch-Elf borders, so for now Azan stalls their advance, while many know the real fight won’t start until fighting has reached the Oront.

Bog Witches – Also hated by Azan, but are generally seen as weak proxies of the Succubus Queen and aren’t really a threat to anyone in Azan other than a rogue province and a borderline rogue province.

Blind Bastard’s Domain and the South – Although located a long distance away, the former rump state of Moridan was key to any attempt to any attempt to regain control of the South, so its loss is a stinging blow to Azan, even if Renne’s claim to the Azan throne is seen as laughable. There have been some efforts to mobilize Nosso Lar and Mumak against Renne.
>>
>>84935546

Avangar – Although far from even historic Azan borders, there are some who feel Avangar will one day be a threat to the Azan Empire.

>Geography:

The core of the Azan Empire is mostly warm, sunny hills, perfect for growing grapes, olives, cattle, and a wide range of other products.

Much of the land is developed, dotted with countless cities, towns, villages, and farms and villas bordered by low stone walls or hedges.

The mountainous regions are less inhabited, but are an important source of minerals and pasture land.

>Demographics:

The majority of the population is human. As the former core of a now lost multi-ethnic empire, a wide range of human ethnic groups are present, and several distinct new ethnic groups have been formed where certain ancestries were common in a particular area and/or a particular social class.

Dragon Tiefling are rare, but still make up the Imperial family, many of the oldest noble families, and certain merchant families. They are often seen as obsolete and out of touch though, with some of the newer human noble and merchant families now far richer and politically powerful.

Dwarves are not uncommon, both recent arrivals and the descendants of now lost kingdoms. They are a powerful force in banking and certain artisan guilds, though they can be found in all professions and levels of society.

Hobbits are rare, but becoming more common. Many are simple farmers, but some belong to a new breed from Gvilderstaaten whose goal is to make major inroads into the banking and merchant sectors.

>Religion:

The New Azan Faith is dominant in the core Azan Empire. It consists of a small pantheon of gods, saints, and prophets, and ever since the reformations mostly sticks to spreading simplistic messages of altruism, charity, compassion, and community spirit.
>>
File: Azan Legionnaire.jpg (56 KB, 535x1000)
56 KB
56 KB JPG
>>84935560

Remnants of the Old Faith are everywhere though, particularly among the most traditionalist families and areas. Dragon icons, overlap between religious and secular elites, and simplistic good versus evil thinking have all made a gradual comeback since the reformations.

>Military:

The armies of the Azan Empire are still vast and well organized, though there attention is split between several adversaries, as well as garrisoning their core territories.

Common soldiers are easily identified by their reddish scale armor and masked helmets, though each province has its own variant design, and many vassal states and allied mercenaries fight in completely different gear.

Infantry are well trained to fight in formation, as well as in small scale skirmishes.

A wide range of specialist troops exist, including several types of cavalry, siege troops, engineers, and skirmishing archers.

Elites include spellcasters, as well as katana wielding knights, and veteran heavy infantry from Oront and Gautlan.

Azan also has a large navy, but it rarely sees much use as most of Azan’s enemies are land based.

Aroun the Onyx Mountains live strange creatures. Rumoured to have been made by rogue alchemists, the spider goats are hunters twice the size of an adult man. They prey on horses, cattle and any other big prey they can get their limbs on. Due to their big size and not particularly fast speeds, this goat spiders have evolved into great ambush predators, using the environment to their advantage. They'll hide in mountain ranges and chase their prey, making them fall into gorges filled with spider web, trapping them and allowing the spider goats to slowly eat them. Those spider goats that prefer hunting in the valleys or in the plains take a different strategy, digging holes in the ground and hiding them in web and dirt, and waiting for unsuspecting victims to fall and be unable to get out.

Lemmites are also a known prey to the spider goats, but their general small size (around the size of a small dog) and underground lifestyle makes them difficult to catch in the open. They are frequently caught when they burrow right into the spider goats' traps and get caught, but otherwise their lives are very far appart. Lemmites are big generalists, eating everything that's organic, though they mostly feed on underground mushrooms and truffles. Their slow speeds and blindness make them easy pickings for any surface predator, even those below half their size. Their colonies can house hundreds of individuals, though they usually limit themselves to around a hundred, unless there's a big increase in the food available. There's only a breeding couple, both male and female being twice the size of a regular worker and barely able to move, giving birth to sterile workers. Their underground way of life has seen them expand their territories to the deserts to the south, since the effects of the harsh desert are mitigated by an underground life.

Digging Tauros are hulking creatures that roam the lands south of the Onyx Mountains, grazing all day to mantain their massive bodies, the height twice that of an adult man. Despite their fierce appeareance, they are gentle giants, generally tolerating the presence of herders and their charges, and other herbivores. However, their peaceful nature ends whenever they detect a predator or a rival digging tauros infringing on their territory. Then they engage in brutal clashes, using their massive horns and powerful claws. This fights end up badly for the loser, geting gored and slashed mercilessly, generally dying in the process despite their tough skin and muscle. Their claws are not used only for fighting, they use them to dig for rare minerals, since their diet needs high amounts of salt. They've been often seen licking rocks to get enough of this food, it being one of the main reasons for a digging tauros to infringe into another one's territory.

The Great Pincering Squid lives in the depths of the Great Salt Lake, orth of the Onyx Mountains. It is an immense creature, nearly five times the size of a man. It is a voracious predator of the deep, feeding on fish and carcasses that sink in the unusually deep lake. However, due to their immense size and frequent food scarcity in the depths, they attack animals that drink at the borders of the lake, or at the birds resting at the surface. It is one of the few beings that can reliably take down a Digging Tauros, since its pincers can deal with the horns, and once the prey is trapped, the Squid can just drag it into the depths, where it will drown. Due to their size, there are very few Great Pincering Squids, but their activity is enough to make the local populations try to actively hunt them down, since the attacks to the fishing ships are common enough to warrant massive hunting campaigns one of them is spotted.

The Silk Pigs are strange creatures, even for the area. At first glance, the physiognomy of this animal would make any naturalist wonder how it can survive in the wild. Their long and fat bodies clash with their small, tiny legs, barely able to hold its weight. Combined with their elongated bodies, it makes them unable to run, walk, or even turn at any kind of reasonable speed, to the point of spider goats being able to just walk straight up to them, pick one and drag it to their hideout with very little problem. However, they are very gregarious animals, and their ability to feed off of everything combined to creating great amounts of silk makes them unvaluable for the herders and farmers of the land. The sheer amount of silk they can spew combined with a very low mainteneance cost mean that they are an incredibly valuable resource for the local economy, and thus protected by the local farmers. It is very doubtful that the Silk Pigs could survive in the wild without any human help.

Kangwhalls are big herbivores who travel in packs, usually near other species' herds. They feed on both fruits growing on the highest trees (which they reach by jumping and spearing it with their nose horn) or by diggind the ground for mushrooms and truffles underground (using their paws and nose horn to dig up). They are a very confrontational species, with members of the same herd fighting using their paws and powerful tail. However, this fights will only include the nose horn if they are very serious, as in a challenge for dominion of the herd. Otherwise, fighting is just part of keeping the social structure. Their young spends a full year after birth in their mother's pouch, and only then will the horn grow. Male horns are considerably longer than the females', which will take a spiral pattern in comparison to the males' segmented pattern.

Tongue Beetles are small, insect-like creatures, that feed off of small flying bugs, such as mosquitoes and flies. They live in the backs of the much bigger herbivores living in the land, hunting the parasites they have around. Their excellent reflexes and eyesight, combined with a prensile tongue, makes them unable to rack up enourmus amounts of bugs eaten every day.

Venom Babooms are pack predators, using the tall grass and the cover of trees to jump into unsuspecting prey. Due to their small size and slow speed, they need to ambush and poison their pray, waiting for the strong paralysing venom to take their prey down. However, due to their small size, animals that could resist the venom, like spider goats and digging tauros, can easily wreack any pack of venom babooms. They are also carrion eaters, feeding on whatever carcasses they can find.

I would also make pidgeon rabbits, but IC has no model of either, so here's my 100h in Photoshop.

Pippy Rabbits are small creatures that roam the land in great numbers, usually living in burrows to protect themselves from bigger predators. When they feel threatened, they inflate their neck pouch to look bigger, but this seldom works, and thus they are forced to run away.

In the middle of Stor Kartoflu island lived a group of people called the Beliz. Although not that important or migthy, they had built a respectable state, ruled by a Grand Duke. They relished on trade with the other maritime people like Vilga, Elanxa and Seagard. They also exploited the horned ogre population of the island as a slave working force.

In the early days of the Avangar expansion, a lone emissary sailed out to meet the Grand Duke of Belizia at the city of Sadolva, west of the mountains that surround Cannibal Bay.

As the Duke was gone hunting at that time, he was welcomed by a commitee of nobles at the outskirts of the city. The Elyrian emmisary demanded the immediate concession of Belizia to the Empire of Avangar, on threat of bloody conquest. The nobles laughed at the idea of being underlings to the barbarian swampmen. They thus imprisoned the emmisary, and before the Duke could return from his hunt, the emmisary had already been sent to the guillotine, his head returned in a bag to Alga, with theats to any other "swamp brute" that'd set foot in Stor Kartoflu.

Needless to say is that the Elyrians did not take lightly to this insult. They immediately prepared the construction of a large fleet, and within three months they landed on the shores of Stor Kartoflu, the Emperor Avangar himself at the side of his armies.

The Beliz had no chance unprepared as they were. The Elyrians swarmed the island, torched the cities and slaughtered every single human they came across. No city was left standing, falling victim to either sword or fire. Thousands of Belizians jumped in the water to escape the fires, drowning in result.

Some managed to escape towards the mountains of cannibal bay, but it's unknown how, or if they managed to survive.
>>
>>84937849
The scorching ruins of the Belizian ruins still remain to this day a reminder of the wrath that shall inflict all those who oppose the god of Avangar and His Empire.

But a lesser known fact to this story is that the marching Elyrians did not slaughter any of the ogre-slaves in the Belizian cities or countryside, as some of them even joined the fight against the Beliz.

To this day, the territory that used to incorporate the former Grand Duchy of Belizia belongs to Avangar, but the abandonned cities and towns in the middle of the island are now home to ogres, both former slaves as well as "wild" ogres of the hills and mountains.

These ogres, thinking that the Elyrians came to their rescure, now consider them as gods, with some even building makeshift boats in order to make the dangerous voyage to Alga and offer measly tribute. Having misintrepertred the Avangar religion, they chop down large areas of the surrounding forest, laying the logs in the middle of each city and town and creating huge pyres while praising the "Lord of Fire", according to the ogres themselves.

The Elyrians consider the horned ogres as emptyminded, yet quite gentle, animals. They don't bother to try and proselytize them to the proper worship of Emperor Avangar, but they also consider their praise and worship of the ogres quite flattering, and thus chose to not disturb them, instead aiming towards other nations and people to conquer.

Of course, there are still many horned ogres around the island - particularly in the west and east - that still follow their traditional ancestor worship.

The Earldom of Chrysovica is ruled by a an Earl who is voted on every 3 years by the land owning population of the islands. The Earl is responsible for protecting the island and making sure trade runs smoothly. There are no term limits and the Earl rules for as long as the people of the islands are content. The Earl can be male or female and is usually of a wealthy or noble birth. Ever since the threat of the Sea Elves to conquer their islands the position of Earl has increasingly become a female position so as to ease relations with the matriarchical Sea Elves as well as publicly proclaiming worship and giving thanks to their god, Caijin. The Earl lives on the northwestern most island in a location called "Fortress Seawood" the capital of the earldom. The Northwestern most island is also the wealthiest and seems to have the most sway over elections.

The current Earl is on her first term, Isabella II of the House Aldera, whose grandmother, Isabella I, reigned before her in a streak of 10 consecutive terms

Decades ago, Edoard Bomilha's fall from grace closed many doors but opened a window. A man of merchants turned minor nobility married upwards, and his contemporaries' wine always spilled from cup to cup. Breaking into a Marquisiate family was a great achievement for the Azan native. The repeated failure to conceive with his wife Evelyn Geldholm-Bomilha was overlooked in society due to his affability. to even suggest sickly Evelyn of the Marquisates was barren would end a physician's career.
The son he always wanted would not happen in this life.

A night of citrus wine and Geldholm Sr. hospitality during another of evelyn's ill episodes would have left Edoard in bed without a woman were it not for the foreign visitors. The one night stand producing a healthy half breed undermined the Geldholms. The childs mother claimed she had been exiled with not much more than her daughter and the clothes on her back rode to the Geldheim-Bomilhan residency. For a few weeks the mother lived with the servants. Edoard never learned which of his marquisiate family funded her murder.
He too was exiled with some of his friends at court arranging a modest hold for him and his daughter to look over bordering the poppy fields on the mainland. Paranoid thoughts crept in of the Geldholms following him south and Edoard took great care to teach his child how to defend herself, and later to protect others. Edoard also had been tasked with looking after children that marquisiates brought him, no questions asked of course. With little other idea of what to do with them, they trained alongside his daughter. Other than a handful of visits to his homeland, having grown up near the Jibaro wetlands, Edoard rarely left the safe haven created in the south of Faarowt. we now know of this place as Bomilhald.

Other than the strong sense of purpose and family, the hold is otherwise unremarkable. The seers and mils lead simple lifes. Beginner to militia martial training given by the seers to the mils takes up morning and late afternoon sessions, sandwiching luncheon and basic education, with the day ending in choring and preparation for the days ahead.

Some mils are simply lost within their own community, and look to live with other outcasts, others are sent as punishment or for other reasons by their purer relatives. There are always murmurs of high ranking men sending their half breed children here, it is in their best interests to keep the products of affairs hidden in plain sight.
Men across several kingdoms use their influence to keep the settlement afloat, even on the highly desirable arable land. Exact patronage is not always known, and taxmen always seem to have better things to do than pore over the financial records. The established hold finds its way onto maps for personal use by noblemen and influential figures, even at resolutions where only cities and larger towns are marked.

Graduated guards are not elite, but competent and may choose to adopt the bomil title. taking up the bomil name is to become fully independent from the hold, those who stay as mil are always welcome to return for a bed and meal in times of need in exchange for labour. The ceremony consists of the chosen title branded on the mil or bomil's shoulder blade. this branding is understood continent wide as non-entry into noble or ruling families.

In certain circles(particularly the flamboyant people in the marquisiates who historically oppose the geldholms) it is fashionable to bring an 'exotic' bomilhald chaperone to lower risk social events, and even sometimes in addition to the usual muscle when there is more danger. For this reason, the route the the coastal lands that worship Gunther's namesake is well trodden in both directions, although Edoard did not return to the marquisiates.

Half elf and half amazon girls make up the most of the folks with a minority of half goblins and a scattering of drow and tiefling mutts. It is common for graduated half elves to wander the northern realms and relinquish their post, whereas the inner amazon sense of duty creates a few more 'lifers'. Over the years a handful of exceptionally bright sparks have even acquired sponsorship for academic study at a mage guild before completing training. Some that are less of mind but have more talented hands and tastebuds leave to the Golden Sea and join the wheat edifice almost at their doorstep. this may come in part to the bi-yearly harvesting season volunteering that allows for a few months away from Bomilhald. Wheatfolk have an agreement with the seers to make this possible, their usual recruitment methods are a bit more aggressive.

It is said that blind Renne of Azan lineage has a hand in the workings of Bomilhald at the foot of the ascent to Florinthian highlands.

Between the Badgassi and the Jeraxih Tribes is the nation of Chakobsa, named after the rainforest that occupies it. A land full of dense rainforests, it's considered an inhospitable wilderness by its neighbors, only inhabited by a savage, demon worshipping natives, the Yaguara.

In truth, however, deep beneath the jungle clearings, the Yaguara have managed to build big, thriving cities around pristine lakes, so far hidden from prying eyes. The Yaguara are a religious people, considering their rainforests to be sacred. They practice ritual cannibalism, where every outsider that dares set his eyes upon their temples and cities is captured, and eaten in a large feast in order to appease their gods.

Their gods, in turn, are one stranger than the other. A scepter wielding tapir and a large bat with the arms of a baboon are one of many. The Yaguara have great respect for nature and have tamed many creatures that roam it, such as small, red wyverns they call "Tuahotel".

The Great Library of Xandrilex lies in the Domain of the Librarianfolk. The Country is called Biblion and ruled wisely by the Owl council. It's located right next to the Kingdom of Gold. They say in Biblion lies in some dusty corner every book that has ever been written. The country and the library in particular are seen as a repository of the world's accumulated knowledge. The library is the size of a metropolis and, like everything in Biblion, even the dense settlements around it are literature related in some way or the other. Antiquarian bookshop, bookstores, printers, publishers and much more. The further inland you go, the more you feel the influence of the Bookimists. Bookimists are alchemists who combine traditional alchemy with everything to do with printing, books and literature in general. Biblion is the stronghold of this art. The country is considered the most fire-prone because of the large amount of paper and buchimistic essences. Therefore Smoking is only allowed in so called Qualmoirs. Those are windowless buildings with large chimneys on the roof through which the smoke can escape. Despite the chimneys, the rooms are completely filled with smoke. Since there are no bans on the substances to be smoked in Buchhaim, all kinds of smoke and intoxicants mix in the smoky air. The mere presence there can easily lead to unpredictable intoxication. Some visit the Qualmoire specifically for this reason, for others the effect is anything from surprising to frightening. Buchimist houses dominate the sight of the densely populated Biblion. They are crooked, dark, and overshadow the paved paths. These houses are typically half-timbered with creatively designed stone facades. Most of them are listed monuments. In the Great Fire six hundred years ago many of the houses were blackened.

Culinary specialties of Biblion include the beebread, a honey bread with roasted bees (usually without stingers), the buchling (an apple compote pastry, unrelated to the booklings), and the poet's curl, a sweet pastry.
Everywhere in Biblion you can buy so-called Crandles Living candles that will read you from a book of your choice for a while if you politely ask them to. However, each candle has its own elitist and highly individual taste and will not read books it considers trash. Also their voice get's lower the more they burn down. Another type of candles that live in the Library complex are Flandels flying candles that follow people to illuminate their path and help them read.
The Giant Library of Xandrilex is magnificent and is considered one of the thirteen wonders of the world. Guarded by animated armor, it has countless departments, some of which are closed to the public because of the valuable, delicate or forbidden books in it. The library is so big and winding that some areas are only to be entered at your own risk, as they are inhabited by book golems, scriptlings, paper elementals, swarms of flying books or inklings due to failed bookimistic experiments. Particularly dangerous, however, are the gigantic catacombs under the library, whose crooked corridors extend under the whole of Biblion and into incredibly wide dephts. They are sparsely illuminated only by the resident light jellyfish and harbor incredible dangers such as trap books, book hunters, various mimics or the gigantic bookwurms. There are also and invaluable obscure and lost books in prospect for those who dare to go down though. In addition to the horrifying creatures there, many of the catacomb passages are in danger of collapsing. All entrances to the former underground library have been sealed off from the public. Only for high sums can one enter the labyrinthine and dangerous depths via a few private passages of corrupt antiquarians.

Book hunters are savages with the task to salvage rare and valuable books from the catacombs under the library, while exposing themselves to significant risks. Bookhunters are only driven by two simple forces: their egoism and their greed. The main qualification to become a bookhunter is fearlessness. Therefore, it is mainly mercenaries, former assassin andother criminals who practice this profession. They often cannot even read. Each bookhunter is equipped and armed in his own way. However, armor, iron helmets, and an individual horrible mask are almost always included. They protected themselves against animals, dust, trapped books and above all, other book hunters. Over time, the number of book hunters increased. They opened up new areas of the labyrinth in their search for valuable works. They drew primitive maps, established food supplies and water sources, and provided lighting in many areas of the catacombs.

eh I just thought of an idea to connect it with the rest of the kingdoms. maybe the forest got infested by spiders and the old hyperboreans were keeping them in check, but when their kingdom fell and the new kingdoms were established, they repopulated quickly and the forest was unsafe for travel once more.

So it is a reason why maritime trade is a big part of these kingdoms (the elves and the spiders means the only way they can reliably trade is through ship around Zemyland) and explains why these kingdoms would need Nerim mercenaries to protect them

>phantoms and chimeras without reason or number

Glad you're enjoying it

Also, I'm thinking of switching it up past four line stanzas with rhyme scheme AABB or ABAB, do y'all think it would be better to keep a consistent structure or to have more variation?

Behave similiar to birds. Can get very aggressive when they hear loud noises in the biblioplex

And they are often composed of rare books, so you have to carefully kill them to gain access to specific tomes

I will confess that I've been writing poetry for a couple of years now, but that's a hell of a high compliment. I'm glad you like all that I've written, but I still hope others contribute some verses, or at least ideas. I was actually planning on having Bobbit kill a gibberling on his own and save th knight to gain some confidence, but I much prefer the idea that someone else had where the knight taught Bobbit that he doesn't just get to decide to kill whatever he wants. So even if I can make verse, I can't come up with all the ideas.
Point being, I want y'all to get the fuck in here and write some shit, the tale of Bobbit the Hobbit is a collaborative effort, dammit!

Thanks dude! I'd actually hit a bit of a block recently, so I appreciate the anon who came up with the idea of telling a story for getting me back into writing verse

The small island next to Devon is known as Zeresh. It was part of the Republic of Vigla before its annexation to Avangar, and it was always in second fate to the main island of Devon. Only a few communities exist in Zeresh, with the main one, being just a small fishing town in the northern coast.

However, its importance was raised greatly after the invasion. The Quamona Tong has established its base in Z away from prying eyes, running a smuggling operation that's been their main source of income. The Elyrians have decided that such worthless rocks aren't worth the trouble of stationing a garrison, so only a couple of guards with a Justiciar are currently in Zeresh, their suspicions of rebel activity rising with every waking moment.

I think it kinda died out after we switched threads, I think like 9 or 10 PM CEST has the most traffic anyways, so if we're gonna do more collabs it should be around then

>trap books
Trap Books are a form of Dangerous Books developed by Book Hunters to decimate the competition. On the outside, the Trap Books look like particularly valuable or rare works, but inside are deadly mechanisms. There are b books inside which are miniature crossbows with poisoned arrows and catapults with broken glass. In addition, there were books whose interior contained acid injections or poison gas sealed in an airtight manner. Particularly ingenious trap books came from Greybeard the tinkerer.

True, last thread had much more activity. In any event, I'll only write a bit and wait for next time where there's a lot of traffic to see if we can replicate the engagement from then.

So is it part of Gnoll Empire then? Maybe we should color it as part of the Gnolls and have the dotted line marking Old Nogar, like we do with the habitats.
