I see them as a less autistically-traitorous or technologically-inclined version of skaven. They still scheme because they've got sprawling family lines (maybe due to their huge population booms and short individual lifespans they place a lot of importance on perpetuating the bloodline?), but they're more barbaric and less about crazy gadgets. They just settle somewhere, overfarm until its dust and their numbers are teeming, and then swarm the next patch of land to either repeat the process or get killed by its defenders. Elder matriarchs and patriarchs are revered, breeding rights are highly sought-after, your rights, such as they are, are proportional to how long you have been alive.

They are baby and child killers. The rabbitfolk know they are weak compared to other races and are easily dispatched if captured or cornered. They, however, are also great at reproduction while the other races are not, so they attack their opposition's weak spot by offing the offspring. The small frame and strong legs with padded feet make them excellent infiltration units, but given their abysmal combat prowess, killing infants and toddlers and escaping unseen is their main tactic.

Neat. Reminds me of the theory that orcas were what killed of the megalodon.
The theory is that one of two things happened after it was determined both existed at the same time.
1. The orca starved the megalodon by consuming the dwindling food supply. This was the primary belief until....
2. The orcas specifically hunted megalodon babies and essentially genocided the fuckers. After analyzing how orcas send out hunting calls attracting more orcas when spotting a whale to kill with team tactics AND seeing them kill great whites to eat their liver coupled with them being smart enough to know that megalodons are a threat to them, it is more likely they holocausted the babies.

Essentially make them Skaven, but cute. Everyone on the surface thinks they're harmless becuase they're relatively cute looking, but beneath the surface and outside of everyones eyes they're horrible monsters with forced breeding programs who will eat any vegetable they see but not farm themselves, and they constantly raid farmlands for foods, supplies, and more and aren't above murdering to get what they want.

On the opposite side I'd have Ratkin like people who are just as cute, but are misconcieved as being evil because... you know... rats. But they have a societal order that values family, kinship, and doing god works and helping one another. So the other races deal with them, but don't trust them.

I'd have to refine it a bit more but it could make for an interesting flip on stereotypical anthro race stereotypes.

If I remember correctly rabbits were viewed as symbols of purity and innocents in the middle ages and the reason that they were represented as balls out insane killers in the drolleries (the margin art in illuminated works) is because the monks thought it was funny. Same reason you had weird snails with human faces and other wacky shit. It was the equivalent of middle age shit posting and rabbits could be seen as the Pepe of their age. Kinda proves memes are older than the internet and monks were kinda proto 4channers with a bunch of inside jokes that bewildered normies. Expanding on it. Rabbitfolk encountered are very polite and friendly. They frequently are seen as helpful household servants and companions. They are using this as intelligent networks to give ideal insertion methods for the assassination teams. The child deaths are frequently poisons blamed on SIDS or other such conditions or diseases. They have a long term view and nobody suspects them despite it being very common knowledge among rabbitfolk.

The rabbit-folk are a survival at any cost people. A rabbit will happily sacrifice someone else if it means they can live another day. Families would abandon their young as bait for a distraction to escape. A doe wouldn't hesitate to cannibalize her own kits during famine. They hold little regard for their own species because of how fast they can repopulate, and they respect other races even less.
The reasons even they have a civilized society is because the strongest of the rabbits becomes chief of their warren, and forces compliance to their will through punishments of death or worse.

Honestly, I just used the ones from WoW- which were a goblin-sized, rabbit-shaped plague of locusts.

The group didn't mind too much, we were doing a round robin at the time, the five of us taking turns doing one-shots while the DM was thinking of what to actually do next. We wound up doing a home conversion of Rise of the Runelords.
