I've been enjoying playing a career orientated Confectioner with a temper joining forces to show the best of our patron's class and refinement in court and in culinary combat.

We would never stoop so low as to brawling with our competitors or their assassins in the streets and will not tolerate any implications that's we would act in such a dishonorable manner.

>Be us
>In kentucky instead of our usual stomping grounds of atlanta
>On a job for the ancients to retrieve sports car from a town that's been put under complete lockdown by wolverine security. They're shooting literally anyone on site if they're inside.
>Sneaking in we find the corpse of a highschooler.
>He was in a hot sim (I think) of some kind before he got mauled by a mountain lion.
>A bit further we find the corpses of three hischoolers and a teacher.
>The kids were all hotsimmed too and they all had a mix of wounds, some were shot and some had other shit like stab wounds.
>After a while we find two people holed up in their homes.
>By posing as a fish and game officer I find out from the first one that wolverine has ordered everyone to stay in their homes for the forseeable future.
>The second one calls me out because he had been dealing with fish and game about some mountain lions he's apparently not allowed to shoot.
>Warns us of some "crazy cult".
>Pushing through the town we see what he means.
>There's a bunch of dead people in cages and shit but no living people around so we push on towards our objective.
>When we get there Mouse's allergies go fucking berserk.
>Turns out the dude holding onto the car was a sentient, shapeshifting mountain lion.
>Hands it over to use but right before we leave suddenly we're surrounded by jehovas witnesses trying to spread the good word.
>Send a text message saying that we should ge tthe fuck out.
>"now now you shouldn't swear even if it's in text".
>THey say some shit about a cannibal and punishing him before a few of them try to rush our cat associate.

Keep in mind I've turned off my commlink because I was spooked.
>While I go looking for a truck Mouse and Freefall rip the remaining kid out of the hotsim shit and giving him horrible dumpshock.
>Fast forward a bit after almost getting killed by a different shapeshifting mountain lion and them getting sedatives for the kid having dumpshock we decide it's time to fucking leave.
>As we're leaving the truck's radio comes on, all night the highschool has been blasting powerwolf songs but suddenly everything goes quiet.
>"BRING OUT THE SUPERBEAST!"

This is the party in my ongoing epic level (20th level + boons) Faerun campaign in D&D 5th. Were doing it through text RP at the moment.

From left to right:

Edmund Archibold III (Lawful Neutral) - Wizard, servant of the Primus and creator of the Greater Clone spell (creates a body identical to yours that you can inhabit through astral projection).

Legion (Neutral Good) - A planetar paladin of Lathander and wielder of the artifact sword, Dawnbringer. Gave his life to destroy Bhaal forever.

Dorothea Hightower (Neutral Evil) - Aasimar Sorcerer/Paladin. Demigod daughter of Bhaal and thought to be last living Bhaalspawn in all Faerun. She rules the kingdom of Rhosyn West of the Trackless Sea, keeping her true identity secret.

Morgan Enoch AKA "The Morghoul" - Demigod lich. He once helped overthrow Kelemvor and reinstate Myrkul as God of the Dead and then led an attack on Waterdeep that ended with Myrkul's death, but has since changed his ways and now fights for Good (or at least against Evil.)

Notable party achievements- Killed Bhaal (Legion, Morgan, & Dorothea).

Fought in the Battle of Waterdeep against Myrkul (Morgan with).

Slayed Demogorgon.

Defended Celestia from a demon invasion.

Discovered the Plane of All Knowledge.

The adventure is ongoing, to be continued...

Forgot to mention,

>Morgan is Chaotic Evil going on Chaotic Neutral

>Edmund is himself a clone of a previous Edmund who gained sentience. He also has discovered a link between the worlds of Faerun and Oerth and has traveled between them. He also has an absolute fuckload of magic items to compensate for being the only normal human mortal in the group.

>There are a motely assortment of side characters played by friends who don't have a lot of time to game.

A quick runthrough

>Ankor Goldfang (Chaotic Evil)- A half orc barbarian rescued by Morgan from the ruins of Skullport after the Battle of Waterdeep. Went on to serve Umberlee as a ghost pirate before dying to a Marut.

>Kwalu Nightslayer (Lawful Good) - A ranger and exiled trade prince of Chult who fought in the battle of Waterdeep where he met Dorothea and pledged his service to her as her champion. He is unaware of her true nature.

>Feldar - Dwarf druid and demigod. Helped to slay Bhaal, then mysteriously vanished. (The DM's old character before the DM's switched).

Sorry. I was out buying gifts.

The party currently consists of the:
(Previously) Dwarf barbarian. Galinthor.
Dragonborn rogue. Riad.
Half-elf bard. Nurlithion.
Dragonborn paladin. Boulder.
Halfling rogue. Sylwen.

What can i tell you? Party is level 3. Working title is “javelins” cause thats the only way the killed anybody on session 1.

Boulder is an edgy coomer who is ruthlessly effective in combat. Who clashed with Galinthor. Played by a DM. Dont remember the oath.

Galinthor is a DEX paladin (after becoming a kobold) who casts spells. (Has that subclass from xanathar’s lost notes).

Sylwen is a curious rogue with a crossbow.

Riad is an ex-dragonslayer who desserted his clan. First time player, pragmatic character. I sent blood hunters after him.

Nurlithion is a scholar-diplomat, hired by an party allied bandit faction.

Thats the current party. Call me back if you want to know more about the guys who are not with us anymore.

Just the main party without cohorts/henchmen/servants because listing them and all the dead character would take forever. It helps that we use those sprites in the game itself because it's online.
>bloodrager
>Began as a half-orc barbarian in prison with the OG party from the first book, which had everyone (maybe besides a single PC, unclear) die while fighting an army of around 40 combatants including an overleveled paladin in a climactic final battle, because the party fucked up big time. After his death went to the Abyss where he punched demons and mutated into a monstrosity which was picked up by our boss for book 2. After a series of unfortunate events was critted for a shitton of damage by a paladin PC from our other game from alternate reality (the module is weird) and rolled the reincarnation roulette, becoming an elf. Embiggens himself when angry. Unironicall punches orphans in his spare time (they're grownup thugs though).

>warlord
>Was stolen from his parents by a devil raid and indoctrinated to become a soldier of Asmodeus, learning some cool devil-fu moves along the way from the book of weeb fightan magic: PF edition. Went to a conquest of a plane of fire, but after gaining some lands had his shit kicked in. Luckily, our boss decided he need to summon a planar ally to help his servants. Unluckily, it was the warlord instead of some pit fiend. Counts damage bonuses in d6s instead of +1s like normal people and can oneshot almost everything level-appropriate from the bestiary, but some the shit the module throws is not in the bestiary and is not level-appropriate.

>necromancer
>Character from the extended universe where 3.5 and PF are one and the same. Managed to canonically die in one of the previous games. Aeons ago used her magic and made it so after her death her body reforms on a random plane at the cost of most of her memories.

>Apparently, this particular world had a similar figure, a lich who wanted to destroy all life, conquered a lot of lands, and made bugbears into mindless slaves. Unfortunately for her, some people believe she's that lich, including the bugbear skald. Unbeknowst to everyone, her own plans involve not only the kingdom, but the world, and the multiverse itself... Because of her prestige class features and minmaxing raises so much undead it causes lag in VTT.

>kineticist
>Frogman walks in. "Hey, this place is where you worship Dagon, right? Dagon told me in a dream I must go here... Who's Asmodeus? Dagon is called Asmodeus in human lands? I must sign this contract? Okay." All his plans involve pits or rocks or blocking passages. Unsurprisingly, those plans are better than other PC plans 90% of the time. Can play minecraft with his infinite stone shape, making life for the DM unbearable, as the module didn't think the PCs would try to transform the giant spire of evil into a WW2 bunker. It collapsed in the last 5 days anyway. Due to how kineticist works in PF, his rocks hurt A LOT.

>skald
>A bugbear (he must be scottish, he's playing a bagpipe). Wants to unite bugbear tribes and make them great again, following his lifelong friend and leader whose army was let into the heartlands by the book 1 party and who's waging war on humans right now. Doesn't know that his friend is loyal to Asmodeus and nobody else and plans to get rid of his unruly tribesmen for a position in the new world order in the kingdom after their victory. His inspired rage is meticulously minmaxed to give fuckhuge bonuses. Only one character besides henchmen and cohorts accepts it.

>A nature mage persecuted for her beliefs. The only thing she wants is for her children to be safe and free to roam and see the world. How do you run a high level party in this system?

It's so hard to find people who have done it I had it go well to ask for advice.
>>
Here's some pixel art of the first D&D party I ever played in. Leftmost is my first-ever D&D character, a dwarf ranger, I wanted to play an elf ranger but I rolled a 9 and I wanted high Intelligence and good physical stats so I had to be a dwarf and put it in Con, apparently. My brother played a wizard, and later I made a halfling rogue. We rescued an NPC cleric, and he joined our party. My dad DMed for us. We made it to 2nd level. At one point we bribed a group of kobolds to leave a village they were occupying because we'd fought to a stalemate.
>>
After a bit I started DMing for them instead. My dad played a barbarian who later became a ranger and learned to read, my brother played an elf archer, and my dad also played a rogue/bard who later became heir to his mountain village. Later my brother added a halfling sorcerer/wizard who was obsessed with casting fireballs. I also did an NPC elf cleric to support some archery and give healing. We played up til level 10. years later I am still trying to drag this campaign to a conclusion.

Zoomer humor
>>
Another group I joined, we eventually made it to level 25 in D&D 3.5. I played a dwarf ranger/fighter, and we had a halfling thief/monk, a fighter/mage, a cleric/fighter, and a bard/druid.
>>
>>80752297
Why are you all wearing modern clothing ? Why do so many dnd fags do this?
>>
At some point my brother DMed for us. We were all elves, I played a monk and a healer, my dad was a scout/spellthief and a beguiler/duskblade. We got teleported around a lot to whatever struck his fancy, including Ravnica and Mirrodin in MTG. It was a bit weird but kinda fun. Only made it to level 6 or so.
>>
Some friends from high school invited me to play after we graduated. My friend's dad was DM. I played an elf ranger looking for his lost fiance after his village was destroyed by orcs and he found everyone's body but hers. The others played a lot of dragonborn, but we also had a changeling druid and a tiefling wizard among our numbers.

Also for this one and the one I made it to level 25, there were plenty of side characters that visitors to the campaign played, that I didn't include because I honestly forget them. Although some were part of the group for a long time, including a catfolk cleric, that I should probably add at some point.
>>
At some point I started DMing Pathfinder for my friends. They fought a cult that unleashed a plague on the city attempting to appease their demon lord of pestilence. Finally they tracked down the cult hideout and fought them in their ancient temple. I did a pixel art scene depicting the climactic battle.

At one point I met some friends who wanted to play 5e, so we did. I DMed at first, but later one of the other players DMed two campaigns. This was the later one, where we reached level 16 (partly thanks to many NPC allies but only me and the other player getting the XP so we leveled 2x as fast). I played an arcane trickster rogue, he played a firbolg druid. We had a half-elf gunslinger, human fighter, goliath barbarian, and others among our party over time.

At some point another friend started DMing a more hard-core version of D&D B/X for me, I was a solo player controlling an entire party. We ran on the copper standard so often we didn't even get to the start with armor. Also was very hard to heal, we heal 1 hp per week of rest on average, but need to keep adventuring to get enough money to not starve. Pretty brutal and I'm pretty sure I can't even make it as a commoner in that game but it was fun to do. Still playing in it, and getting to higher levels now, but as you can see it was a long and bloody road.

Oh and here's a solo campaign I DMed for my dad, started it like 8 years ago and we play it on and off. They're like level 6 or 7 now, one is going for arcane hierophant, has a pet wolf, and is a general protector of the woods sort. The other is an elf rogue/dragon shaman. And I played a dwarf cleric for a bit of leading the plot.

Its a very unbalanced game with characters and monsters that are bloated way beyond the proportions of the game, but we make it work and its really fun when you lean into the madness. We do this:

>At 20th level you no longer gain levels, but you can gain "boons" in various ways, but usually by achieving some feat or being blessed by a being of power.

There are a list of boons in the 5e DMG, but our DM has made a ton of his own. The advantage of this is that boons don't always have to linear in power. Legion received a boon from Lathander that gave him Truesight, and Dorothea received a boon by being tutored by some Slaad that allows her to use an additional metamagic on a spell at no cost 1/short rest, but when she does she has to roll on the wild magic table. Things like that feel like progression, but they dont just give you straight up power which helps to throttle the eventual powercreep (although it will get there, thats just part of it you gotta accept.)

>Everything is dangerous, everything is adventure. Characters of this caliber can handle a LOT of stuff, so don't be afraid. Also the DM needs to be creative and confident in making stat blocks.

The game is extremely sandbox in nature and since its by text and we often have our own goals we are often 1 on 1, or just buddied up with 1 other person. Basic example of gameplay (actual events): Dorothea is traveling through Celestia with Legion looking for Bahamut, as he has imprisoned Edmund on false charges. While wandering, DM rolls on a random encounter table and the result is a gang of demons, so he described as a demonic gate opens up right next to us and a bunch of them pour out (about 4 vrocks, 10 balors, and 1 klurichur (3.5 monster, basically balor with rage and a vorpal bite). Dorothea teleports them both to the dragon fortress which is in sight, and they warn them. We prepare for battle and have a big fight.

We fight the demons alongside the dragons, which is a pretty nasty battle and Legion dies. At this point in levels, you need break out of thinking about 1 big boss monster and get players to use up resources as much as they can. It will make them feel epic when they trash 10 vrocks with ease, and then make them feel like heroes when they barely pull out a win against 4 balors. Speaking of combat.

>Tone down the amount of combat, epic levels are about roleplay, kingdom building, gods, and plots.

D&D is a combat game, but at this level combat is usually intricate and complex, and for it to retain any drama it needs to have context. We dont fight all that often, and if we do fight sometimes its a very quick battle against enemies weaker than us, thats part of the power fantasy. But all the big battles are the product of weeks or even months of investigation, diplomacy, and roleplay. There is a huge cast of NPCs, from Lady Silverhand to Mammon to unique creatures like six Slaad demigods called "The Lords of Limbo." They all want different things or have differing relationships with the characters. The only advice here is to just create a bunch of plots and characters with both competing and adjacent goals and rumors and hooks the characters can follow up on. It takes effort from the players too to really invest themselves in the setting and improve their RP, which is more than half the fun. That way when combat actually happens, its something truly epic in proportion with the epic level of the campaign, which leads into the last point

>Go crazy

Allow the characters to pursue goals like kingship, traveling the planes, and even becoming a demigod. At this point the game is supposed to be crazy, if youre trying to make it down to earth youre doing it wrong. Everything is a possible adventure, evil is everywhere in the multiverse, and beings of power are powerful and jealous of upstart heroes. With time and practice, the fun will come.

Yeah, i mistyped barbarian.

He levelled up to 3 almost as soon as i turned him into a kobold. So the player just chose the subclass that he wanted to choose from the beginning.

Also gave him a homebrew “city dwarf” subrace which gave advantage on persuasion/intimidation once per short rest. Obviously he used to be a normal barbarian. But now that he’s cucked to VGM kobold, he is forced to rely on the party and stealth. While beforehand, he could be too forthcoming with intimidation and going off on his own.

Pic related is my own character i haven’t had a chance to play. Carver: monk 1/inquisitive rogue.

Flicka joined up with a dwarvish detective in The City of Walls, and after fleeing said city put those skills to use purging a cult from a dwarvish farm town. Well... it was mostly Rambo bullshit, but she claimed the title of inquisitor nonetheless.

It was bashed together from Fire Emblem GBA sprites. In the future I may try to use them for like an isometric map set. It might need to be scaled up but god the test images I've tried look cool as fuck.

>>80755688
Kitsune players tend to be stupid in my experience.

I don't understand what it is about charismatic and clever fox women that attract idiot players.

Maybe it's escapism?

They are either too stupid to realize they are neither charismatic nor smart and so think kitsune are perfect for them,
or they realize they are stupid and uncharismatic and want to play a character who is those things for escapist power fantasy.

Either way every Kitsune player across all systems I've encountered them in, which is 8 games across 3 systems, has been an idiot.

My personal experience has been a 50/50 split between clever players who are fond of wordplay, and idiots who couldn't string a cohesive backstory together or play a consistent character if their life depended on it.

I'm switching to open roster after the team makes it out of a Golgari dungeon (after exposure to some shitty fungus they were quarantined by a freshly trained technician, shit went haywire and their only way back to the surface is through a series of maintenance tunnels). They've all earned admittence into their chosen guilds, the vedalkin blabbed about their nabbing a notorious criminal who muck taking journos are about to reveal has been basically braindead since Azorius processing- which is going to be bad news for tension in the city.

They are all teachers for a superhero school.
-Lazy ladykiller vigilante hired as home economy teacher. Cursed to become a blob monster.
-Four armed oni P.E. and detention teacher. Ultra strong and goes off the rails.
-Changeling mischievous girl that turns into a deer ||actually she IS the deer||. Teaches biology supposedly.
-Astral eldritch being that is asleep and projects a human avatar to interact with the material world. Teaches dream psychology.
-Multiuse robot girl who works as the director's assistant and keeps the school afloat.

And not to long ago a talking Sock joined.

The wizard was blending into the frontier town’s surroundings as an influential appraiser, who gave them the location of her rival group’s hideout.

The party, the klutz that they are. Alerted the whole hideout and had a few designated survivors carry out the main valuables as guards engaged the party in the middle of the structure.

Galinthor, the dwarf was pissed they didnt get much loot except for a magic sword and 50 gp. Also, Hasn’t met the wizard and knew little of the arrangement. Prompting him to storm into the appraiser’s shop, alone. After slamming her head against the metal bars on her counter. He was “apprehended” (read: beaten, tortured and interrogated) by her orc bodyguards before having a concrete scrying collar wrapped around his neck.

That about sums it up.

Pic related, is one of my party members. After mentioning she wanted to “experiment” with the appraiser (which is a MILF dragonborn)

My next campaign is going to be a rags-to-riches urban story set in fantasy-Louisiana, so I'll get to stretch my worldbuilding wings a bit further.

Funny story about that, they were the war dogs of the barbarian, who was a total murder hobo and the DM was getting sick of his shit.
After enough OOC warnings from the DM, the Lich >>80752878 (who was stalking the party on a hunch from his mentor that they had great potential) ended up stepping in to try and correct his path. He did this in the form of a cruel and ironic lesson befitting of a classical evil wizard, by enchanting the barbarian's dogs and making them attack him in the night, after placing an illiusion over them and the surrounding terrain. Although after the barbarian cleaved his first dog in half and realised what was happening, he still didn't get the purpose of the lesson, and ended up slitting his second dog's throat as well instead of looking for a different approach that could have saved it's life.

They are the six Lords of Limbo, Slaad demigods. They once ruled limbo before the god Cyric came and took it from them, and now they're forced to serve him. They advance the cause of Chaos everywhere and see the material plane as a "dead world" devoid of true life, which they regard as only Chaos.

They and the party have a common enemy in Cyric, but being strange and unpredictable creatures, they can't be relied upon. Recently our wizard (who I am starting to suspect is a zealot of Law) stole something from them, and our relationship has turned rather sour, but not (yet) hostile.

Pretty much, the DM was gonna kill him off anyway because he was really not fitting in well with the group (antagonising every NPC, using unfunny memes in-character, using lethal force at every opportunity), the Lich was just a fun way of doing it. The real "reason" the Lich came to fuck with him/later kill him is because the barbarian brutalised one of his prospective students in the street after seeing him perform a petty crime.

In-universe the Quebecois/Lacustrines crusaded into Michigan and took over half of it while a coalition of native Rostmenn control the other. Some nobles are imposing their culture while some are trying to find a compromise.

Alienor is kinda a personification of the compromise. Bastard daughter of a d'Arvide count and a Rostmann woman. Rostmenn saw her as Lacustrine bootlicker while Lacustrines saw her as a Rostmann corruption of their values. She grew up frustrated about people hating her for something out of her control and used that anger for martial training. Eventually she would be brought by her family to their mainland holdings and her grandfather who ruled the holdings decided it would be funny to toss her into the Order of St.Ursula which is basically the Teutonic Order of the setting.

After much disagreements, lashings, and continued discrimination Alienor would manage to be ordained as a cleric and be granted the vestments and equipment worthy of her rank. She would then spend her career away from the Order's organization on 'missionary work' so that she doesn't have to deal with the insults of peers and so that I have an excuse to go adventuring.

One neat thing that also sums her character is her rosary made out of fordite, basically ancient car paint that can be cut and polished like a jewel and is absolutely holy to the Rostmenn and the Galvanist/Vulkanite faith.

Thanks friend, that's very kind of you. We're playing 5E since we're a bunch of normies.

At the risk of rambling I'll put them in order;

Conman who used to scam people with talks of faith suddenly has actual power, looks to discover where they come from and redeem himself.

Copper Dragonborn raised from birth in a human society. Unknown to him, his people were wiped out by his father's company during a grand war.

Warlock who doesn't know he's a warlock, just thinks his lucky robin turned his life around. Bird often brings him gifts like trinkets or clumps of bloody hair from those who wronged him.

Ranger traveling the lands, actually a Selkie. Kicked from her kingdom after endangering others. Seeks to reclaim her name.

Kenku Cleric who's people were wiped out by a mysterious force, wants revenge. Getting powers from the Goddess of Compassion/Revenge but doesn't know he's actually an undead thrall; he died with is people.

Also a map I made.
>>
>>80803788
>Ranger traveling the lands, actually a Selkie. Kicked from her kingdom after endangering others. Seeks to reclaim her name.

As in she had to take a new name when banished and her people will not acknowledge her and "her name will not be heard or spoken among her people again" until she has restored her honor?

Or something else.

Does that mean running a more episodic style of game where there are short jobs that take place over 1 session so there are plenty of opportunities for Players and PCs to tag in and out between sessions allowing you to have a wider pool of players from which you can assemble a large enough number each week to have a session?

>>80761488

sadly the campaign ended due to the woman simping for two players and causing drama in the campaign, but it was fun while it lasted

this is the closest to a comission they got from me

>played by a DM

The main DM is me. I support and encourage my players to run games, and they do. But it’s not always at my table. The person playing that particular dragonborn is a dm for another group that was inspired by me.

>wizard and BBEG are the same person

Yes, they are. Claudia is the main villain of the current arc.

> Something the wizard believes or convinced themselves would force Galinthor to grow as a person?

It’s something i’m convinced will make Galinthor’s player a better role player.

>pic related nurlithion?

No, it’s ruby. A fire genasi warlock that keeps slinking in and out of our games due to a bad period in her schedule. Said she’ll return for the next few games. Her player is the one who sketches us.

I have more sketches to show somewhere in the group chat. I’ll have to dig them up later.

>Please tell me about them.
Sure! From left to right:
>dwarven rogue, a mute who's obsessed with money. Nobody knows exactly why she can't talk. Still manages to get her point across most of the time. Hates "the Man" for as of yet unknown reasons.
>human cleric (NPC) - the younger brother of the monk and really curious about everything, but might be in over his head. Followed his older sister across the continent and she was sort of pissed about it. Still nice to have around.
>tiefling monk - runaway head of a noble family and the closest thing the party has to a straight man. Very concerned with geopolitics and good manners, but also likes to drink and fight. A stickler for law and order and is more or less the party straight man.
>warforged warlock - woke up with amnesia one day, and eventually started working for an archfey to have a purpose in life. Knows a comically small amount about how society actually works, but is very serious about his "job". Only recently found out he's a holdover from the setting's vanished ancient civilization.
>mothfolk sorcerer - has shadow powers, but is actually a laid-back hedonist and a smooth operator. Gets distracted by bright lights, which sometimes include the glowlamp he carries. Usually acts as the party face if trying to be charming or convincing.

>>80773461
>How is that going?
Pretty well! The party had spent some time inside the capital of a theocratic country so there were some interesting things that happened:
>the monk has visited the ruler in order to gain support against the army threatening her home country
>the sorcerer and rogue tried to score some drugs but ended up committing petty theft and vandalism of a temple, and might have been helped by a trickster goddess
>the warlock recieved a new mission which was to install a statue from his patron, which he accomplished with the help of the cleric. After that, the rest of the party met the patron in person for the very first time.

-) lots of people don't study clothing of other places and/or times.

-) people draw what they know

-) people make up clothes for made up settings and import elements from outside the era you associate the setting with.

-) people don't read the source books info on clothing and styles

>The ink linework and pencil shading on an aged paper background. Looks like an in-universe piece of parchment denoting the group for the archives.
Thanks a lot! I wanted to have it look like something that one of the party members had commissioned after the campaign.

>Mind telling us about them?
From left to right:
>Seraphina Caesulina Dulcia Calogerus, a snooty noble-born turned Administratum worker
>Claudius Stahl, the straightforward Guardsman and the team sniper
>Vardis Bollaert, the Sanctioned Psyker and the party straight man
>Magos Frost, a Biologis Tech-Priest who started out as the medic and ended as a human blender
>Invictus Konma, a regular Tech-Priest who was Mars-born and often butted heads with Frost over theological differences
Overall a fun time, though only 2 of the characters made it out of the whole campaign alive following an investigation into a hive city that ended with a Tyranid outbreak and the city being nuked from orbit. Complicating matters was a sect of hereteks, hive gangers, and what we later found out (and what did in one of the techpriests) was a halo device.

Playing psyker straight men can be surprisingly fun.

I played a flamboyant ex-inquisition astropath in a Rogue Trader game once who was the straigtman of the group.

It was a lot of fun.

Dennis: Slimefolk Sorcerer. Relies solely on Mold Earth and Shatter to great effect. Heir to the throne of the Slime kingdom (he was previously 3rd in line, but the deal he made with the devil brought a plague that changed things and significantly reduced his potential number of subjects) Status: Alive, Left arm seared off as punishment for breaking contract

Chung: half-Aasimar Cleric. Raised in the wrong religion for his celestial guardian, and ignored her dreams for fear of heresy. Took a deal with the devil to become a warlock, severing his ties to his clerical god. Status: Stripped of power by the devil for breaking contract, left for dead in cave-in. Probably resurrected by BBEG.

Bart: Human rogue. 4 Int, 18 Wis, specced into survival and perception over stealth. Used his +10 Animal Handling to solve a cat-in-a-tree puzzle with a "here kitty-kitty" roll. Learned to read 3 sessions ago. Satus: Newly married

Cash: Goliath (Gorilla) Monk. Had the number 3 headband, was on a quest to fight whoever has 1 and 2 and become the best fighter in the land. Status: Confirmed dead. Knocked unconscious by a trap spell, killed by Dennis, who used Manipulate Flame to burn a thumbs up into his chest as a joke. The party does not know this happened.

Bryn: Alcoholic Half-elf Fighter. no nonsense, inconsistent accent, bitter war vet. Status: Died to zombies, possibly resurrected by BBEG.

Man in the last 3 years I've had a whole bunch of different games.

Granted for those eight games (some short some have morphed into multi year campaign) I had to filter through about 27 shitty groups, but that's a price worth paying.

(All but one of these groups have been online)

You can do it
