/tg/ - Traditional Games

It's over /tg/, your character faces death. No tricks or clever escapes, no resurrection, just the inevitable. Before you go though, the reaper tells you that he always takes the time to play one last game or engage in a contest of their choosing with everyone before he guides them to face judgment. Not a game for your life, just one final game before you have to face the music.
What game does your character pick and why?
>>
>>68281491
Russian Roulette
>>
Ah yes, my final battle. I challenge him to Willy Wars.
>>
The stand-still and don't move game.
>>
Rock, Paper, Scissors

Then just hold up paper in the air for a high-five, "Ahhh, just playing, don't leave me hanging though. High-five."
>>
>>68281491
I prepare to out-fuck the grim reaper. We will both leave a mountain of whores in our wake no matter the outcome, or I powerbottom ol' boney until his decrepit pelvis shatters. Such is live as a cleric of the pleasure god.
>>
>>68281491

See, you expect me to say that we play DnD, like that old joke from futurama or xkcd or whatever it was. But my DnD character obviously has no idea what DnD is, that would make no sense at all. We're playing Dark Heresy, my character is GM.
>>
>>68281517
You play a few rounds before eventually, the gun goes off against the reapers head. Setting the smoking gun down, he congratulates you on your good luck before holding his hand out for you to take.
>>68281523
The reaper happily accepts, such silly games are a pleasant distraction from the eternal duty of reaping souls.
>>68281527
The reaper accepts, and simply stares at you, saying that he can play as long as you like, he's not going anywhere.
>>68281555
The reaper readily gives you a high five, before lacing his bony fingers between your own, saying that judgment is nigh.
>>68281561
The reaper readily accepts your challenge, removing his outer cloak to reveal an Adonis like figure. He offers you a selection of condoms, and asks at which whorehouse you would like to begin, saying that the winner will be determined after 24 hours.
>>68281584
The reaper pulls out a set of dice and a blank character sheet from his robes and begins generating a Guardsman, asking if you would like other players to join, he knows many dead who would be happy to join you two.
>>
>>68281637
>The reaper readily accepts your challenge, removing his outer cloak to reveal an Adonis like figure. He offers you a selection of condoms, and asks at which whorehouse you would like to begin, saying that the winner will be determined after 24 hours.
this will be my finest hour
>>
>>68281637
After our high five, it's judging time. I judge the reaper to be my bro, but I understand I gotta go.
>>
>>68281491
Monopoly.
I need a warm up for wherever I'm going.
>>

Guilty Gear
>>
>>68281491
we play shots, but with the small request that, if the Reaper can supply it, we use different drinks each round of fine spirits from across the world and history.

In the end it’s a fitting game to end things, no?
>>
>>68281637
Based reaper.
I'd probably choose something cooperative for me and Death, nice change of pace.
For some reason I can only picture House of The Dead 2 and Time Crisis.
>>
>>68281659
For the briefest moment, you would swear you see a smile grace the reaper's features. He thanks you for your gift and begins leading you by the hand, wishing you a merciful judgment.
>>68281677
The reaper accepts, and asks if you would like to be the car.
>>68281678
The reaper accepts, and asks you to start the game up while he grabs some chips for you two to share while playing.
>>68281694
The reaper nods his understanding and produces two crystalline glasses, asking you to sit down while he fetches the bottles from his personal collection.
>>68281698
The reaper accepts your proposal, and sits down, letting you take the player one controller and the comfy beanbag.
>>
>>68281491

>What game does your character pick and why?

Gay Chicken
>>
>>68281745
Thank you Death for the comfy beanbag.
>>
>>68281745
After we finish our game, I give the Reaper a friendly hug and thank him for being so kind. And have to joke: “I owe my emo teenage self a coke... you really aren’t so bad.”
>>
>>68281491
Any game will do if I get to be a player just this once. I bet he'd be a terrifc DM anyway.
>>
F.A.T.A.L. Character gen should buy me a few days to get my affairs in order.

The Game of Life, just for lulz.
>>
>>68281491
"Musical chairs. I'll play us one last song."
>>
>>68281756
The reaper nods, before describing in lurid detail the things he would like to do to you involving grapes, rope, a rubber chicken, and half a bottle of watermelon flavored lubricant. He awaits your response.
>>68281765
He claims it is no problem, your last game should be played in comfort.
>>68281767
He claims it is no problem, he sees no point in sending you along to judgment scared and confused.
>>68281800
The reaper nods and asks if you would like to play Shadowrun or Rogue Trader.
>>68281815
The reaper nods and pulls a rule book from his robes, and begins to help you build your character.
>>68281822
The reaper accepts and produces a deck of cards, beginning to shuffle the deck.
>>68281854
Nodding, the reaper begins setting up the board, asking which color car you'd like.
>>68281930
The reaper sets up a chair, and asks that you put on dead man's party, for obvious reasons.
>>
>>68281491
I would politely ask if I can finish my backlog of miniatures first, and maybe he wants to give painting minis a shot too, it’s not going to take away his time in any way
>>
>>68281491
A game of talisman would be nice before I have to go. He bring some of his friends along, since I doubt any of my friends are available if death is here
>>
>>68281990
Don’t do it, death! letting a fa/tg/uy delay his death until he finishes his mini backlog would make him outlast the universe!

H.G. Wells never finished his army and still walks among us out there, unseen and immortal.

No game, not this time. He's died twice since he started this, he's had a good run, and he's tired. He died twice in one year and then he mostly retired. He won a war, raised an adopted daughter, owned land, built a castle from nothing with his best friend and brother-in-arms, and treated his serfs well. He came back to his god and finally became the Cleric she needed him to be. He set aside the boy he was and became the man he needed to be.

Everyone will be ok. His daughter is grown now and better than he could ever hope to be, his best friend was always going to outlive him, and the serf's lives are stable and they want for very little. If this is it, it's it. He beat the reaper twice before, and all debts have to be paid. All he wants is to say goodbye and, if the Reaper will allow it, he would like to share a drink with the Ferryman on the hill overlooking his manor and watch the sunset one last time. No tricks, just a decent last day for someone who did their best.

So, what do you say death? Do an old man a few last few favors?
>>
>>68281491
A quick game of Call of Cthulhu with myself as Keeper.
>>
>>68281990
Death politely refuses, saying that he knows how massive your backlog is. He does however offer to ensure that your miniatures are all delivered to your final destination after your judgment, and asks if you would like to play one last battle before leaving.
>>68282015
The reaper accepts, and pulls a phone from an unseen pocket and begins making calls while you set everything up.
>>68282031
Either are agreeable to him, the reaper happily accepts your offer of fizzbin.
>>68282057
For such a distinguished individual, and all the things a man could ask for in his final hour, this is acceptable to the reaper. He will return in 24 hours to take you to the final judgment, and bids you to spend them well. As a parting word, the reaper informs you that the powers that be may see fit to make you into a guardian angel to watch over your daughter and in time, her children.
>>68282070
The reaper accepts this, and sits down to begin making an investigator.
>>
>>68281491
After pleading to at least get to do something to help her still living friends, my character would ask for a guitar hero-style violin duel at a good tavern. More for the opportunity to give one last, really special performance for an audience than to out-play the reaper, to be honest.
>>
>>68281491
My character would like to spend at least a day in his hometown together with his wife, daughter and family like it was any other day. Nothing grand, he just wants to take care of the house, maybe fix that broken part of the roof for once, eat a last home cooked meal and tuck his daughter in bed one last time before he needs to step out of the house one last time never to see them again
>>
>>68281491
>What game do you want to play death? The only ones I know I played with my children so long ago or cards, now that its here the only thing I can think is "will I get to see them? Was I a good enough man after being a brutal weapon of war for so many years?" What do you think death? I've sent plenty your way trying to bring an end to this ridiculous cycle and idea that only one sect can be left standing to retake the holy land, I've tried to be just and merciful but I can't say I'm entirely sure what those truly mean. I know it's not you who decides but I'd still appreciate your opinion.

Hey OP just wanna say I really love this thread. Thanks for keeping the spirit of /tg/ alive.

A single flip of the coin, his call.
>>
>>68282124
The reaper bids her to calm down, there is nothing more she can do. Name the venue and she will have her final concert and duel.
>>68282202
Such requests are not unknown, and trivial to allow. The reaper leaves after telling you to spend the hours wisely.
>>68282204
The reaper is well familiar with cards, and bids you to shuffle. To answer your question, he says that it is not his duty to pass judgment, though he is aware that many times a repentant soul has been forgiven. To assuage your worries, he does confirm that your family is indeed in a better place.
>>68282206
The reaper accepts, and begins by declaring that never has he ever failed to do his duty
>>68282219
Thanks, I just thought this would be a nice thing to do. This'll be my last post for a while though, I have classes in a few hours and I need to sleep. Feel free to keep it going, /tg/ could use good feels threads like this more often.
>>68282233
The reaper nods and produces a silver coin, tossing it in the air and declaring heads.
>>
>>68281988
Always wanted to try Shadowrun to see if it's the kind of game my players would like, but I suppose this is no time for regrets, for looking back or thinking of things I could have needed in life. Rogue Trader it is.
I also thank the reaper for the comfy thread that's as comfy as Santa's one and that's saying something.
>>
>>68281491
Given what my character is, there's only one reason he'd be well and truly dead in this campaign.

"Ah, finally! How about this, my man. Let's play a game of Ronji (fantasy poker) before the invasion starts. Every single Asura's got a sword through his heart at this point but it'll take awhile before we can invade the heavenly palace and cut the fucking head off of every last Deva, and I want to chill a bit before we finally end the cycle of rebirth, feel me? I've got jitters out the ass over here. Ten thousand years of waiting, amassing numbers, all to do this. Gimme a breather, yeah?"

The reaper produces a character sheet, dice and a pen from his robes. He asks if he or you should GM, and if you would like a copy of the rulebook.
>>68282337
With a wave of his arm, a table bearing two stacks of chips and a deck of cards appears between you. He takes up the deck, shuffles it, and begins to deal.
>>68282338
The reaper produces two decks, and hands one off to you. As you inspect your deck before shuffling, you find it to be exactly what you wanted.

He's never been one for games. If Mr Reaper would like to play one he wouldn't object so long as the rules are explained but as this isn't going to change the nature of any judgment or grant an extension he's not bothered very much about it either way.
>>
>>68281491
I decide on a twist on a classic, not to trick the Reaper, but to explore the unknown. I suggest one of multiple three-player chess variants, and to make it clear I'm not trying to trick the Reaper, I allow him to choose a third player, as long as they represent neither life nor death, and neither good nor evil (don't want the Devil showing up).
>>
>>68282563
In the blink of an eye, you find yourself standing upon the stage of the familiar tavern, the scent of cooked meat and ale wafting to your nose. The tavern is packed, every seat taken and many faces familiar to you. The last rays of sunset gleam through the windows as your realize that your instrument is in your hand, a matching one in the reaper's. As the tavern takes notice of your presence, he begins to play.

>>68282659
The reaper, being a fan of the classics, suggests a simple game of chess.
>>68282663
He remarks that such things are a common request, and grants you one last day with your household. An instant later, you are standing again at your front door, the voices of your kin just barely audible as they sit down to dinner.
>>68282685
In an instant, you are upon the walls of a castle, the stonework crumbling away with age. The reaper stands opposite you, bearing a polaxe. He raises his weapon to his shoulder in salute and declares "Ad mortem".
>>68282708
You could swear that you saw the reaper smile, though how could a skull do such a thing? A user interface appears before you, and the missiles begin to fly.
>>68282721
The reaper understands, life sometimes fails to give one the opportunity for frivolities. He offers to teach you a board game that he says is quite popular in the outer planes.

An instant later, he amends his statement, and asks if you would like to join another for a three-player variant?
>>68282768
The reaper reaches into his cloak and withdraws a piece of paper. He stares at it, and you get the distinct impression of befuddlement as he reads it. He apologizes for the mistake, promises that the mistake will not be repeated, and leaves you to your unfinished business.
>>
>>68282766
My character briefly looks around as the environment changes around her, then back at the reaper saluting, to which she answers by bringing her poleaxe to her own shoulder, declaring "Ad mortem, inimicus." back to the reaper.
She then gets into a combat stance, slowly advancing towards the reaper.

"NO SUPERSTES!"
>>
My character has been through much, murdured family, dead friends, a kingdom fallen to dust. He fondly remembers a dumb game he played with his childhood friends. Less of a game, more of a punching match until one gives up.

If this is to be my final hour, i will be the man who outpunched Death himself.

She’d probably ask if it was okay to have a drinking game around the telling of tall tales.

Rolled 2 (1d2)

>>68282826
Your fight is without doubt the greatest you've ever had, the reaper proving a perfect match for your own skill. You notice that he fights in an old style, sometimes countering your strikes with a shove after blocking you, though he refrains from doing it enough to become obnoxious. Finally, after the both of you have thoroughly beaten each other, the fight comes to its head as the reaper draws back for a mighty swing before feinting and moving to grab you instead.

1: You fall for the feint, moving to parry, and being caught off-guard. He throws you from the battlement, but even having lost, you bear a wide grin upon your face. You feel no pain as you strike the ground, and in an instant the reaper is with you again, offering you a hand up and into the afterlife.

2: You call his bluff, repulsing his attempt to grab you and pushing him back. He falls back a step, loses his footing upon the ledge, and plummets from the wall. You grin with satisfaction, and as you turn around, he stands before you again, offering his hand.

>>68282833
Four poles arise from the ground around you, bound into a square by ropes. The reaper retreats into a corner, bidding you to take the opposite. Once you both are ready, you hear a bell ring, and you come out swinging.

>>68282889
In the blink of an eye, you find yourself seated in the tavern you knew so well, surrounded by your fallen comrades, the reaper also taking a seat at the table. They greet you warmly, and thank you for inviting them to drink with you one last time.

>>68282891
With a click of his fingerbones, a table bearing beer and a deck of cards materializes between the two of you. The reaper sits, cracks open his drink, and takes a swig, which somehow doesn't slosh down his spine.

>>68282996
Indeed he does, and he conjures a table and box, the components already neatly laid out.

The reaper creates a table and places his elbow upon it. As you reciprocate and grasp his hand, you note that it doesn't feel cold.

1: After an intense struggle, the reaper bests you, leaving you defeated, but deeply satisfied.

2: The reaper puts up a mighty fight, but in the end, you smash his hand against the table, the bones of his hand scattering about. A moment later, they reform, and he congratulates you for your great strength.

>>68283077
The reaper agrees, and volunteers truth.

>>68283086
With a flick of his wrist, the reaper creates a mat, and a ghostly figure appears, bearing the spinner.

>>68283091
The reaper reaches out to touch your shoulder, then bolts off, running at a perfect pace for you to catch up to without exhausting yourself.

>>68283099
The reaper cocks his head, holding his silence for a moment, before he declares that it's not the strangest request he's received. He asks where you want to put it, and if you prefer it bony or fleshy.

>>68283230
The reaper procures a pair of decks from his robes, and hands one to you. As you look through it, you discover that it is exactly what you had in mind.

>>68283233
From within his robe, the reaper draws dice, pencils, and a rulebook and character sheet for your preferred edition. The game you play is without a doubt the greatest campaign ever, each adventure worthy of its own legendary greentext. But alas, the game comes to an end, as it must, and as your character achieves his greatest victory, the reaper narrates the end of the story, and extends his hand to you. It seems that your tale will have to be told in the afterlife.

>>68283310
Somehow, the reaper defies your expectations, and you become quite the hit on /aco/. In the end, you agree that scoring such a thing is difficult, and that the real fun was in the ability to flex your creativity one last time before departing to the afterlife.

>>68283351

Direst version of my character's main ability is literally this.Usually he can fudge dice for portion of his HP.

Basically, he will just roll the dice in hopes that reaper's psionic score is far lower.

He'd probably ask the Reaper what his favorite game was, then dismiss it as not the right choice whatever it was.

Truly naive, expecting a fair game from a tag expert! I perform a secret technique, mastered from years at the orphanage. Instead of a mere touch, one leaps at their opponent, tightly hugging themselves to the torso or an appendage. Even if the victim would have the strength to pry the user from themselves, simply stare into the eyes of your victim and pout. Unable to resist your opponent, the secret win condition of tag is triggered. Using this, I have not lost a game of tag in years. In fact, if I continue to grapple the Reaper, it cannot take my soul! Somehow! I think! Immortality achieved.

Sly bastard, I should have figured Death would have his targets already mapped out. I use 20% on Soviet military installations, 20% on Soviet population centers, 15% on Warsaw Pact population centers, 10% on Chinese military installations, 20% on Chinese population centers, 10% on Vietnam, 4.9% on Cuba, and 1 missile each for Hiroshima and Nagasaki, just for old times sake.

In less than an hour, capitalism and communism bury each other in a grave of nuclear fire. Every major city in North America, Europe and China are reduced to ash several times over. Under the weight of roughly 1200 warheads, Cuba simply ceases to exist as a landmass, much less a nation, and Vietnam fares little better. Japan will wonder for centuries what they did to make America-senpai so mad at them again. Billions are dead, with more to follow once the nuclear winter sets in. Perhaps the few remaining soldiers in the Germanies will bother to try fighting a ground war, but the end of the world has come, pretty much as we predicted it. The reaper extends his hand, both to shake, and to guide you to the ever-after.

>>68284096

The reaper summons forth a pair of LAN-linked computers, bearing their CRT monitors with pride, and Brood War already running. He plays Zerg.

>>68284147
The reaper sighs and explains that it is no longer your place to effect the living world. Hopefully your companions will see fit to accomplish those goals, though.

>>68284152
With a snap of the fingerbones, a table appears before you, bearing the distinctive covered hole in the center. A pair of gloves sits on each end, and the reaper silently puts his on before gesturing for you to draw first.

>>68284171
Favorite? Oh, he plays far too many to have a favorite. That said, it's been a while since he's played Kriegspiel.

>>68284178
The reaper drops to a knee, his hand going to your shoulder. He states that it is not his place to overturn these things. Death comes for all, and he's a pitiless bastard. There's nothing to be done for it, but he says you can take as long as you need.
>>
>>68284285
Instantly, you find yourself in a well-stocked kitchen, with a mirrored layout for the two contestants. Between the two sections is a table bearing a metal platter, a pristine white cloth covering a mound. The reaper walks up to it, declaring "Today's ingredient is..." He grabs the cloth and, after pausing for effect, rips away the cover to reveal a pile of the meanest looking peppers you have ever seen.

"Carolina Reaper"
>>
>>68284477
My Mutants and Masterminds character is, unironically, a ripoff of D-Va and KT R Flash who uses his insane Brood War APM to fuel his speedster superpowers.

That, and I pick Terran, and Terran vs Zerg is a matchup that favors my race at around 55%. The Reaper stands no chance against the onslaught of my 10 minute push. Looks like I will live.

He whips around the kitchen for the full hour, immediately preparing a variety of foods. The appetizer is a plate of hand-made tortilla chips served with fresh guacamole, cilantro-infused sour cream, and a large portion of mango salsa, blending the sweetness of the mango with the pepper as best it can.
The entree is a heart carne asada season with a variety of peppers, including the aforementioned reapers. The meat is juicy and just fatty enough to partially quell the flames. Served with a fresh bean salad.
Dessert is simple-a makeshift molten lava cake infused with dark chocolate and peppers. As he plates the last of the meal and the timer goes off, he makes a lame quip about the chocolate lave being “hot”.

The reaper sits in one of the chairs and explains that the last game ever invented by humans was a simple game of stories, there are no restrictions on what kind of stories you can tell: memories, legends, rumors, history, it doesn't matter. The only rule is that it must relate to something from your life. Because at the end of all things the only thing that was left to do was reflect on the things they've done and experienced.

Death tells you that there are always stories left to tell, but a battle of music is a simple request to grant, as he draws a violin of ebony from within his voluminous robes.

>>68286055
The reaper mods, and you stand before a vast shooting range containing every variety of target you can imagine. Death stands before you, holding two masterfully maintained .22s, and asks if you would like the first run.
>>68286270
The reaper accepts, handing you a deck as he straps the disk onto his arm. As you inspect it you realize it is the very kind you wanted, to the last card.

The reaper explains that he does look forward to his rest, upon the reaping of the last mortal soul. Having answered, the reaper asks you to choose truth or dare.

With a theatrical wave of the reaper's arm, you are brought to the stage of a packed tavern, instrument in hand, and the reaper holding its match in his fingerbones, gesturing for you to lead.

>>68285539
The reaper withdraws a ball from his cloak and passes it to you, stating that such things are not his place to speculate. If you are concerned, however, he is happy to keep playing for as long as you like.

>>68286055
In a snap that sounds strikingly like a gunshot, you find yourself upon a shooting range, a vast array of weapons and ammunition lying on tables behind the firing line. The reaper states that if you wanted a different range for the targets or a weapon that is not present, you need only ask.

>>68286527
The reaper admits loss, and extends his hand.

>>68287009
You blink, and find yourself at home, the kitchen table cleared off and the game set up, waiting for you. He offers you the choice of side.
>>
>>68286706
The reaper clarifies that he is not Death, that's his cousin, and as he removes his cloak, revealing his full skeleton, states that his own job is more or less cleaning up after him. He drops to his knees and requests you begin with the eye sockets, so he can get that out of the way first.

What transpires next would likely take days if time still held sway over you, systematically passing down the reaper's skull, limbs, back and front before finally concluding your thorough conquest of the reaper with an imitation of missionary. For a few minutes he shares the final afterglow with you, dripping with the results of your labors, before finally rising, garbing himself in his cloak, and offering a suddenly clean hand to you.

My current character is part of a ridiculously lethal OD&D game where every stat is roll 3d6 in order, no re-rolls. She's seen literally dozens of people be killed horribly and was so fucked up by the process she started to worship fire, because the party uses "burn fucking everything" as a solution to most problems. Not a fire god, just fire as a concept, because fire saves them constantly.

She'd honestly just accept death with a shrug unless it was a particularly gruesome one.

He glances around the frozen landscape for a moment. He was expecting to be slowly digested for eternity in the miserable bowels of an Elder God. His hands still shake while recalling the fading memories. Savoring the lack of agony, he looks at the reaper.

"Thank you, but this is fine.", he says, "A few minutes of peace is more than I expected or got." His brow purses in thought for a moment, realizing that at this point some things don't matter as much as they once did. He had promised to quit for Sheryl, and managed to stick to his guns on the matter too. Her concern for his health was pretty pointless given the circumstances. She was probably weeping over his sorry ass even now. Thank God she made it out in time.

Enjoying the lack of activity and pressure that life had denied him for so long, he turns to the reaper.

"You wouldn't happen to have a smoke, would you?", he asks.

The Reaper concedes the challenge to you, as he has no need of faith. He congratulates you on your cunning choice before taking your hand in his, judgment awaits.

>>68297295
The Reaper nods, and in the time it takes you to blink you stand in the middle of a large coliseum, all manner of walls and barriers between the two of you, seemingly to make a duel more of a challenge than simply casting spells at one another. The Reaper stands tall, clutching a bone white staff, radiating an ancient and implacable power, akin to the tide. He gestures towards a rack containing all manner of staffs and wands, bidding you to choose whichever you like.
>>68297319
>Wrestle Death, see what’s so scary about him
The Reaper accepts, and four poles rise from the ground, ropes running themselves along each, forming a ring. The Reaper heads to one corner and you t the other, both awaiting the sound of the bell.
>Simple dice game to pass the time
Simple enough, a few rounds of dice is a common enough request. The Reaper produces a pair of dice and hands them to you, allowing you the first roll.
>No games, but request to play Clair de Lune one last time
The Reaper accepts, and you find yourself sat before a piano, with the sheet music laid out before you. You look to your left, and behold a crowd sat before you, awaiting your performance. The Reaper sits in the first row.
>Ask to call wife one last time, let her know he won’t be home for dinner and to tuck the kids in
Such requests are common, the Reaper steps away so as not to loom as you say your goodbyes.

Finally, as the credits roll, and one thing begins to lead to another, the reaper removes his cloak to reveal the physique of a greek god, and proceeds to treat you gently yet firmly, with the grace of an expert. When all is said and done, and your breath back in your lungs, the reaper stands, puts his cloak back on, and offers you his once-again skeletal hand.

After lighting a smoke from the cheap brand he got addicted to as a kid, he sits and enjoys a few while taking in the pleasant atmosphere. He remarks that the world isn't half as bad as it seemed a moment ago. It really can't be that bad if people can still spare a little dignity and kindness for the forgotten. Mind at peace, he nods and extends his hand to the reaper, ready for judgement.

I extend my thanks to OP and the anons here in general. So many characters die without getting that bare minimum of completion. It's not out of neglect, it's just a sad side effect of the world never stopping. This is a wonderful thread. You're doing God's work /tg/.

The reaper wastes no time in getting to work as well. For the appetizer he hollows out the peppers and stuffs them with a verity of cheeses before breading and lightly frying them, finishing off the dish with a homemade marinara sauce that has a hint of the pepper as well.
For the entree he pulls out what appears to be a chicken and after removing it from its container he starts to coat it with a glaze using pineapple and pepper. Before he puts it in the oven he sprinkles on a mixture of atleast 5 different spices that you have no clue as to what they are but somehow are able to bring out the smell of the pineapple/pepper glaze even more once he removes it from the oven.
For the last dish you see him walk over to an ice cream maker and mix in the pepper with what appears to be unsweetened chocolate. He then takes the ice cream and carefully scoops out a perfect sphere about the size of a softball, placing several on a large sheet. He then takes some white chocolate and melts it down, being cautious as to not make it too hot. After giving it a few moments to cool down but not solidify he takes the scoops of ice cream and gently poi’s the melted chocolate over them. Then placing them in a freezers to flash freeze them. Finishing it off with some sprinkles.
He remains silent for the entire ordeal, on speaking right before the judges give their verdict. “Food tastes the best when you cook for those you love.” And with a wave of his hand you find yourself sitting at a very large table, with both yours and the reapers dishes sitting on it. Sitting around the table are your loved ones. Family, friends, and even some foes can be seen at every seat. And in front of every person is a plate that struggles to keep the food on it.
Across from you sits the reaper, who’s plate has only the food that you made sitting on it. He looks up from a bite of heart and seems to smile at you. “When the last bite is eaten it will be time to go.”

Jeepers the wizard blinks slowly. The old, senile man doesn't look particularly surprised. In his more lucid moments, he has actually wondered when Ol' Grim would finally come for him.

He smacks his tongue in his nearly toothless mouth and begins to ponder. It's been years since he's last played a real game. Many of the adventures Jeepers has shared with his comrades have seemed almost like games to him, but even his deteriorated mind realizes that this is no time to go on an adventure. Suddenly a realization - a memory - comes to him, like a cool breeze of fresh air in a stuffy room. Slowly, the old man gets up onto his bent feet. He stands up as straight as he can, leaning on his crooked staff with a slingshot on the top, and looks Death in the eye.

"I think I remember, I always liked playing hopscotch with my... With my sister, yes."

My Hutt, Horzasch, looks around the desolate landscape. His mind flooded with numerous thoughts and questions. One of the more prominent questions is about the slimeball/s who had the half-cocked idea to kill a Hutt in the first place. However, that was quickly overshadowed by his current situation and his life long philosophy. To turn a negative hindrance into his absolute gain. He slowly slithers over to Death himself, remembering the game he played that started his climb up the ranks

*translated from Huttese
"So, Death. You will allow the playing of a single game before you take me to meet The Legendary Hutts of the past? Would you be interested in a game of Sabacc.... with a twist?"

The reaper in turn explains that it is his duty to deliver you to judgement, though in cases like yours, it often amounts to little more than a formality. Then with a wave of his forearm, the reaper pulls from the ether what appears to be a staff made out of a single oversized tibia, topped with a miniature skull. He adds that, if he may be so bold, he would enjoy hearing how you ended up in such an arrangement.

Time is not a concern for the reaper. He brings you to a room lined with shelves, laden with the widest variety of spirits you have ever seen. The reaper selects a bottle of whiskey sold as being aged 40 years a century before your birth and a pair of glasses.

>>68335651
The reaper nods, and in a heartbeat you find yourself falling through a blue void. By instinct you stretch your wings, and they immediately catch upon the wind. You raise your head, feeling the warmth of the sun upon your face once again as you set out upon your last flight.

"Very well. What do you recommend we wager with then? There certainly must be something worthwhile that we can play for."

The reaper admits that he has little use of valuables or commodities, and usually plays with chips, though he has played a hand or two of strip poker in the course of his duties.

A swimming race, on a beach of death's choosing, whomever gets to shore first wins.
He'd finally get to feel the cool touch of the sea again.

"Well, I guess I should have been expected. Been cheating you for what feels like a long time now. I fought dragons, destroyed litches, seen other planes of existence, and even cast off the shackles of my mortal body. You're something else though, seen it all and still have a friendly smile. A game huh? Hope you don't mind if I have one last fight. I've never been one for cards or chess and I remember flippantly telling someone a lifetime ago that you would not get me without one. Heh, sorry. It's just the game I've always been playing. Just me, my wits, and my weapons. If I win I get keep going and if I loose I get to finally rest? I like that. Mind if I use my sword? It's been through a lot with me?"

"Oh, this is not that kind of game is it? Just thinking about an old bard story with you a knight and a chess board. I spent a long time chasing after immortality because I was scared of growing old. Never was interested in the kind where you could never die. Takes the fun out of living. Problem with living forever is the people you leave behind. Mind if go all out one last time before I see some old friends?"

“You know, I was aways partial to chess. Can’t say I expected to see much of anything after that raider put a plasma slug between my eyes, though.

Oh, by the way, if I’m lucky enough to pass judgement and stop by again, you ever considered retirement? It’s gotta get boring after a while, maybe you wouldn’t mind an apprentice with a little bit of a fresher view of things? Us lonesome types gotta stick together when we can, y’know. And the long dusty robes always suited me.”

Man, that's the kind of end I'd love to have for these characters. I feel it'd be a really satisfying ending to them. A nice ribbon to tie over their stories.

Also paints a strangely comforting and relaxing image in my mind

The werecrow would simply drink and tell stories until it was time to go and leave with asking if he had a good impact on the world.

The tremere would stand and answer questions until she found one she did not know the answer of, presumably something mushy from her mortal life.

The brujah would simply fight as it is all he remembers now

One quick bump while reaper man wakes back up

In the blink of an eye, you find yourself in the water, facing towards a beach nestled in a crevice between two cliffs, a foot bridge spanning across the beach. A loud splash draws your attention to your left, where a moment later the reaper emerges from under the surf.

The reaper bids you to not worry yourself, it is a common mistake. He then chuckles and adds that it was quite the amusing event when he finally met that particular bard. The reaper accepts your challenge and reaches into his cloak, drawing a slim sword of stunningly silver sheen, and raises it in salute as he declares "en garde".

The reaper gestures to the ground, and with a sweep of his arm, a table and chess board arise. The reaper offers you the choice of color before informing you that this duty is all he has, and all he desires, boredom is a concept foreign to him. He does state that he would be willing to take you on, however, he notes that every other soul that has offered either found their afterlife more enjoyable or under the jurisdiction of powers unwilling to release them.

With a click of the reaper's fingers, a limbo pole and handful of tiki torches rise from the ground, and the music begins to play.

And with that, here we are at the bump limit. It's been a damned good thread, and I hope to see another of its ilk again. May your PCs (and in some cases, yourselves) fare well at your Judgements, and find a most suitable rest.

With that, I'm the anon who wasn't OP but still did most of the reaperposting anyway signing off, slightly puzzled at how we got through 300 replies without somebody saying "I don't want to die a virgin".

Or not, must be 310. Oh, well, close enough.

This was a good thread.
