To the Temple of Restoration they carried the loyal friend of mankind. Day and Night they worked to the sound of the pilgrims who flocked to the temple from across Mars to venerate the Rover, until their task was complete and the great friend of mankind was whole.

This just made me realize, the Mechanicus likely has a small museum of sorts on Mars that has all of the exploration craft, manned, and unmanned, we've sent there, that they've been able to recover. Knowing them, they've probably also recovered many if not all of the currently active/ended heliocentric craft.

When I said "99.999% chances of being beyond recovery" I was being VERY generous, we're at like... 1/10^30 chance to find it only damaged to an extent that would allow it to be recovered and potentially restorable, and the least damage you expect, the least chances there'll be for it to happen, and those chances decrease exponentially as the percentage of undamaged state increases...

Faustinus watched from high above the martian streets, eyes organic and mechanical trying their best to absorb every detail.

From the Titans singing out their praise to their comically undersized predecessor, to the Skitarii marching in patterns of binary down the road, every picture captured from his team of servo-skulls produced a portrait of equal parts regimented ceremony, and unrestrained jubilation.

His emotional cores returned pride, awe, and wonder. But when he looked at that small rover, he paused.
His emotional cores reported a complex mix of emotions, a jumbled mess of chemical signatures and info-tags that gave the ancient magos pause. Were his augments malfunctioning? Had something gone wrong?

He quickly ran self-diagnostics.
No, nothing was wrong.

He hesitated for a moment. A small tag of fear appeared below the others. Then he let down the walls keeping his emotional cores from flooding his mind.

His breath caught in his throat, his pace quickened, tears formed in his remaining biological eye for the first time in centuries. He was overwhelmed by it, a prisoner too it, as he looked upon the ancient and damaged drone so many floors below.

Subdominus Keprah, ever at his side, raised a titanium hand to his shoulder. "Is everything alright Archmagos?" She inquired through their private Noosphere channel.

"Y-yes. Subdominus." He said with his own mouth instead of a binaric speaker, surprised at how difficult it was to speak.

"Yes Subdominus, everything is alright. I am simply..." he paused for a moment in wonder at the beauty of the moment.

Since the tragedy of Mars had been undone, it had marched.

Others of the Titanicus were tasked with this sacred procession as well, taking their turns in this walk of honor before returning to their forgeworlds, but Itinerantur walked the very center of this line.

Its course was brief, but circuitous. Doubling back on itself at a number of manufactory-cathedra at some points in the route, marching for kilometers at a time in others.

At last, at the culmination of fifteen years of the march, Itinerantur stopped.

Seeing a god-machine brought low was a sight nobody forgot.

To see one kneel?

It was a feat some claimed impossible, others balking at the idea of it.

But Itinerantur knelt, its massive cannons held to its sides, head compartment bowed in sacred observation.

The cult Mechanicus states that a man's worth is calculated by the sum of his knowledge. Great inventors, academics, and thinkers would all be considered saints to the Omnissiah's children. There's countless quotes that state as much in the Mechanicus codexes and video games. Those who made key discoveries in particular would be held with a great reverence to the admech, much like the Ecclessiarchy treats their saints.

A bitter sneer served to fold his weathered face further, a twitch of frail meat that he allowed himself only because tamping it down distracted him from the roiling cauldron of frustration churning in his chest.
A metallic clatter ripped him from his seething, replacing frustration momentarily with a sharp annoyance. Tendrils groaned and whirred beneath his robes as a mechadendrite turned its skull-headed tip to the source of the noise. A single metal eye focused in on initiate Azir, a young lad of dark skin and bright blue eyes, barely a decade into his training, the elder magos dragged a clawed digit across the metal console.

Weapons that could save the lives and knowledge of so many, weapons that remain un-built! And for what, boy? For an ancient, obsolete thing! We have built rhinos, baneblades, and Titans! TITANS, Boy! What use to our species is this...this trinket?!"
The heat in Albus' chest seemed to glow through the remains of his throat, filling each breath with contemptuous cinder and ash. Azir's back was pressed to the side of a great fabricator whose spirit regarded the initiate momentarily before returning to its rest.
Azir mustered his breath, his lungs yet unreplaced. He looked to the eyes of his master, and spoke.

"Of course, my boy..." Albus allowed the pangs of that memory wash over him waves on an eroded cliff-face. Stoic, but still damaged in a trillion little ways by it with each passing day.
"Scipio Delta." Azir noted.
"Aye, I recall...It was the Necrons. I was just an engineseer then..."
"Everything was gone," Azir continued. "Our cities, our art, our songs... our loved ones."
"We had to-"
"I know, sir. I'm not blaming you, or the ones who decided to enact the Final Rite of Bombardment. I don't remember much from those days, Sir, but I remember seeing my world, so distant when it burned it looked like an ember dancing on the wind. Golden red for a brief moment before going cold and black."
"Why are you telling me this, boy? I was there!" Albus' voice hitched in his throat.
"Because, sir, my greatest regret, the thing that cuts deep inside me on those nights I can't rest is that I have nothing from Scipio. Nothing to remind me of where I was from, No songs, no stories, no faces, not even trinkets, sir."
Albus felt the tendrils propping him up slowly recede, lowering him to the floor.
"We need to remember, sir. If it's good or bad or obsolete or painful, we need to remember. IF we don't know where we've been, sir, how can we know where we're going? How can we know we're getting better?"

He pulled his digits away from the console and rose from his seat.
His myriad tendrils ferried him to the hatch, which opened once more, letting the pale and withered remains of his flesh feel the warmth of the sun.
From somewhere deep within he felt a song emerge, like a shimmering fish rising to the surface of the sea.
Beneath the nest of tendrils and motors beneath his eyes, he began to softly sing.
"I'll be seeing you
In all the old familiar places..."

I personally imagine the mechanicus has video games for a couple of reasons. One, they could serve as training/evaluation tools a let's give the adepts a simulated skitarii legion or explorator fleet or forge and see what they do with it kind of thing.

Second reason is braging rights. Magos could use simulators to try and outdo each other without actual real world costs, so it's a good way for two tech priests to throw down as it were.

Though there are "ambassadors" for the AdMech who look more human than most to not put off Lords and Rogue Traders and stuff to ask for more funding and maybe a moon or two. Psyker could have a mix of minor warp skills in addition to gun-play. A Perils of the Warp meter builds with each use of Warp skills, and the higher it gets the more self damage the player takes. Screen effect would be shadows intruding on the player's view. After a certain point of it, the meter overloads, the screen blacks out, the player dies, and the rest of the team has to put down the Daemon that just showed up. Skills and gear to slow and mitigate this are available, but they have drawbacks (ex, a skill could cut the Perils growth rate by 25%, but players take additional damage from all sources)

Ogryn, I wholeheartedly agree. Beating the shit out of enemies for the Emperor is pretty much perfect for one.

Inquisitor works well. Action skill, I dunno, again, vehicle-based one wouldn't work for indoor/underground areas.

Sororitas would be faith, swords, and setting shit on fire. Action skill buffs all allies and nerfs enemies (DoT, slowdowns, etc), and grants all allies health regen. At high enough levels Her fire damage would bypass all elemental resistances. Stacking kills would build the Faith stacks, which would further amplify Faith and Flame based effects. At high enough stacks she starts alternating between prayers to the Emperor and hurling obscenities at her enemies.

Mechanicus, that works too.

Callidus, I dunno, maybe Vindicare, Eversor, or Culexus would work better.

Astartes, maybe strip him of his gear and armor then put him on a 1-man penance crusade. Gets the Fury meter from WH40K Space Marine as the action skill.

It's mostly a novelty class but it's always hilarious when they scoop up all the white drops before suddenly leaping into the fray with some bananas legendary digi-volkite cannon and shrieking madly. Agreed, the IG are known for their vehicles but artillery strikes make more sense (even when deep in a cave system or eaten by a giant worm creature?) Combining stuff from the other Soldier classes is pretty much what I'd expect for them, just with 40k gear instead of Borderlands stuff, not that there's much difference for some of those. Commissar tree sounds like fun too, good for multiplayer and maybe with a Blamming capstone that gives bonuses as long as allies are actively fighting but deals damage to them for failing to shoot within certain intervals?

I love the Perils of the Warp Meter, but as Anarchy Stacks from the Mechromancer with constantly adding ongoing damage. So maybe you can use your powers once in awhile safely, but build enough Warp Stacks and you catch on fire. Build more and you start to get shocked and even poisoned until the stacks decay. From our perspective the Daemonhost is very suitable for dying from stacks, but in the Imperium they'd likely just have the Psyker character go up in a big, multi-elemental blast rather than tell every kid with a console about such Warp entities.

Inquisitor is tricky because they're all about rank and connections and not too many crazy powers. Taking over enemy vehicles and other tech though I was thinking was a skill, their Action ability being one of the few big powers they have in the game. Or maybe they can present the Rosario and cause some huge debuff to enemies while buffing allies?

Definitely a good take on the Sororitas.

Callidus... I just wanted to include a properly sneaky sort, like Zer0 but a different stealth effect. Culexus are fairly focused on psykers, and Eversor are kinda not quite the stealthiest around. Vindicare might work though, or make it a more generic assassin with trees for Vindicare sniping, Eversor melee and Callidus stealth?

Astartes, maybe? Fury Meter sounds good at least.

Yes. Maybe make it so that the weapon crafted is permanent, but since you can only have two weapon on you, if you don't stock it, your power erase the one you currently hold (maybe using to fuel the power so it isn't to punishing).
Also you can't drop it, so no lucking out and gearing all your team in legendary.

Yeah that was the idea, it's a class that functions as a continuous gun game. The power takes ages to recharge, so it emphasises constantly picking up trash items to speed up the.. "Feral Inspiration" recharge. You refuse to drop weapons, character chatter can have other characters say "Hey could you maybe toss me one of those cannons some time?" only to be met with furious simian screeches of indignation.
Shields and armour are standard, so there's still progression.
