Probably the closest we'll get

So far we have determined:
-That our craftworld, tentatively named Driag-Nahl, has been out of the general affairs of the galaxy right up until sometime in M38, possibly has been in hiding
-the craftworld is mostly jungle, possibly a really weird one.
-the most popular path that eldar on the craftworld would take was that of the Artisan.
-it has an average Eldar military strength
-our favorite tactic is to use huge amounts of firepower to pound our enemys into submission
-However, our most popular troop choices are Rangers and Scorpions. We have fluffed this as us using lots of heavy vehicles, while our troops are used to hit the forces that hide from our gunlines or who seek to outflank them.
-our greatest hero is an Autarch know for striking down a Hive Tyrant single handedly. Named Alandis, Tyrant Slayer, she is known for her preference for Ranged combat and has a history amongst the Dire Avengers.
-we have allies/pawns in the form of a Dark Eldar Kabal. Conversely a Dark Eldar Kabal is our most hated nemesis.
>>
>>62761060
Should we give Alandis the title "Slayer of the Glimmering King" or something, since that's supposedly the name of the Tyrant she beat ?
>>
>>62761153
Sounds good. And last thread the Avatar went Hades after learning it was too late to the main event and raged
https://youtu.be/UHlnCzalw1s
>>
>>62760862
So any other ideas? Views on the Gods? More characters? Some locations?

We know they heavily revere Vaul being mostly artisans with Khaine being concentrated around the Aspect Warriors and some devoted.
>>
we should worship Vaul first and Ynnead second
>>
>>62761474
Well I am still thinking on what Kaz'Tun will find on his way down into the depths of the pleasure ship and how he will trigger the first really major fight for the Avatar that is not just "oooops you are too late to slay this big fat glitter bug" because what I can gather is that everyone is really hot for the idea to let the Avatar lose to kick some ass in that sex dungeon cruise ship gone wrong.
>>
>>62761654
The Avatar has been awoken in the past Millennia when shit was going bad during particularily bad Pleasure Ship invasions. There are things in there that can give even the Avatar pause. But I like the idea. Driag-Nahl may not like Khaine much but they realize it/he has been a big help to them in the past. And of course of the Khainites will begin to strut about telling how they were right.
>>62761571
True. Vaul is the God of Smiths, Artisans and improvement. Both Self and material.
>>
>>62761724
Vaul's stories really line up with Driag-Nahl. The Swords of Vaul story? Involved Vaul tricking Khaine and fending him off in protection of the Eldar (and the rest of the galaxy by some interpretations). He made the Spirit stones which protect their souls from Slaanesh.

And a big reason why we want the Avatar to kick ass? Much of the Avatar's recent lore involves getting it's ass handed to it from being far, far weaker. Making it hold off a Tyranid/Daemon/Core Abomination surge is too good to pass up.
>>
>>62761894
As a member of the Hive Fleet Hecate thread, I fully support this.

Can Avatars have guns?

Here's a basis for the Amber Leaf trees from last thread

Royal Amber Leaf Trees

The tree most associated with Driag-Nahl. Dark brown, almost black wood and bark with Amber/Orange leaves. When the sun/light passes overhead the forest floors are covered in a majestic, almost holy, warm glow that is said to enflame one's passions. The Trees are commonly found in groves throughout the Craftworld and are a favorite subject for painters, sculptures and the like.

Their origins are contested, but they are seen as being a product of House ******'s work into botany/horticulture.

The bark is noticeable for it's flavor when dried. Said to resemble human cinnamon/cassia mixed with clove, nutmeg and oddly enough cayenne pepper. Commonly added with only salt as additional flavoring for deserts and meat dishes. It is a common export to other Craftworlds

>>62761894
Yeah okay I can understand and respect that but I have to be honest when I read that phrase "there are things that can even give the Avatar pause" did I just imagine that maybe sometimes when the Avatar is called and they lead him down into the inner parts of the pleasure ship and they have to enter some of the "dungeons" and the Avatar just stops and looks around only to realize what the rooms "intention" was and just goes the Eldar equivalent of"What the actual fuck is this shit?!" towards the Soldiers leading him.
>>
>>62762196
???? I guess pause was a weird thing to use. I meant it pushed the Avatar back and made it fight for every inch

Also a good idea, but im begining to think that we are never going to come to a concencis as to what our craftworlders are going to look like. We'll probably have to just handwave and say that diferent parts of the craftworld use diferent colour schemes, like pic related.
>>
>>62762090
I can appreciate the idea of an Avatar using a gun because of the significane of smithing within this craftworld but I feel as though an Avatar is not going to compromise on anything regarding how he wages war. Khaine made Vaul his bitch so there's no way he's going to bow to some pussy worshippers of a cripple god, the Eldar need Khaine and his presence is so significant that aspect warriors are genuinely aggitated and on edge even before the Avatar is awakened. Unless the Avatar has been mind fucked like that one that got trapped in the Warp I don't think it would use a gun, that shit is for the loser children of Eldanesh

Khaine likes anything that would help him murder better, but it would have to be up to the same quality and personality as his sword. I can imagine a new melee weapon, maaaaybe some sort of jetbike-esque mount, but not a gun.

They'd use the Avatar because it's there, can kick ass and is a shard of a War God. For the issues they may have with Khaine theologically, he's a big stick they use to beat off anything really nasty. Like Greater Daemons and Core Abominations

Log of former Iron Warriors Warsmith Kaz'Tun of the 76th Grand company
Exploration of Driag-Nahl Pleasure Ship/ Core of the Craftworld
>Here speaks Kaz'Tun and I have now come to a conclusion
>First and foremost: Screw the Iron Warriors
>I would have died either in combat or by some Bastard who would have betrayed me so no loss
>Why do I do that? Because this Ship gives me the means to create my own Warband!
>Second: I will take this Ship
>I have thought about this during my stay on this strange Xeno ship but now im sure
>I have to admit the interrogation with the Xeno soldier was not the first time I have learned from these Xenos history

>But why is it still on this Craftworld? Doesn't matter I will maybe find it out later
>Third: Avoid the Xeno guards and traps and find the control station
>I need 2 things from that place a map and some instructions on how to control and reactivate the Ship
>Once I have both can I go start the ship and get out but not before I have used the weapons on board
>Oh I will make them pay for this defeat I will turn this Craftworld into scrap and I will throw it into the next star!
>fourth: use the artifacts on this ship to pay the dark mechanicum and some renegates to join me
>If I am right and this ship is full of Xeno artifacts and even other loot will I be able to buy me my own company
>No my own ARMY! Even with Titans that will make the worthless "Hatred for the Weak" look miniscule in comparison
>I can already imagine it and maybe can the Ship lead me to more stashes with more to plunder
>I will still keep my title of Warsmith though it still sounds better than just "Lord"
>Then I will start an extermination campaign against these long faced, gangly, arrogant Xenos
>Yes I like the sound of that.
>This was Kaz'Tun Warsmith signing out.

Apologies, I think I was just being needlessly pedantic over my interpretation of shitty lore. Thinking about it the point that was made regarding Khaine just wanting to murder and make war is good, seeing as how Fire Dragons and Dark Reapers exclusively use ranged weapons an Avatar could absolutely use a hugefuck mega Reaper Launcher or Fusion Gun. Looking at the mythology again Khaine made Vaul create 100 swords for him in return for freeing Isha and Kurnous, Khaine would probably relish in using an artefact made for him by Vaul(or his worshippers as a proxy).

On the other hand Khaine would probably be the enemy of the Eldar had they not created Slannesh and had their empire not collapsed. So maybe this craftworld could take the whole Fall of the Eldar as a sign that its time to throw out Khaine. Though this avenue would probably hurt the number of aspect warriors and be a bad idea considering that all of the Eldar's other gods are dead (except Isha and Cegorach, who I'm not sure if the Craftworld Eldar know they're still around)

So we have it down that Driag-Nahl has a very dysfunctional relationship with their Avatar. I'm guessing the lack of Vaul shards has means they don't have an Avatar of Vaul no matter how hard they pray and wish for it to happen.
>>
>>62764038
Pretty much and/ or they are trying to immitate Vault by trying to build weapons that are good enough for a god to use which is part of the reason why they are so obsessed with it.
>>
How does a festival held by the Temple/Cult of Vaul sound? Like a huge fair where all the Artisans and families get together and show off their masterworks? Their is much competition between them and it has notably gotten heated, with at least a few ending up being broken up after tensions flared.
>>
Is there any mention of Craftworld prisons/jails? They'd need somewhere to place their malcontents and troublemakers. It may sound off topic but it's an interesting thought.

Back from my shower.

The Aspect Shrines have always been at odds with the populace of Driag-Nahl. Their dedication to the manners of War and their adherence/worship of Kaela Mensha Khaine have always made their relationship... lukewarm.

Their constant training to keep themselves at top condition leaves them with little room topartake in the Craftworld's pastime of artistry, whether they be gardening or weapon crafting. Their worship to Khaine does little to endear them to the largely Vaul Centric worship given the antagonism the two cults have historically/theologically.

Nonetheless, the Shrines and their Warriors will remain for they are far better company and provide excellent services for military and R&D

Wraith Crab

A Wraith construct designed and built for the Shrine of the Stalking Mists, Striking Scorpions. Meant to act as a heavy support unit for SS formations/hunting parties. Interred within it are the souls of fallen Striking Scorpions. The more skilled and experienced fallen are known to be far more lucid and responsive to their surroundings reducing the need of Spirit Seers accompanying them which lightens the load of the Scorpions on the hunt.

The most basic armament for them are to scale versions of their typical armament. An appropriately sized chainsword and a twinlinked heavy shuriken pistol with enlarged/multiple mandiblasters. Experienced/Exarchs interred make use of Wraith scale versions of the Scorpion Claw and Two handed Chainsword.

Just read up a little on Wraiths. Not sure about the SS special Wraith do to the whole 'Aspect Warrior souls don't go to the Infinity Circuit' or at least the Exarchs. But the Exarchs could make an exception/amendment to their will if they want to by placed in the SS Wraith.

Why would a Craftworld that has a cold relationship with its Aspects, to the point where they're relegated to the craftworld moon no doubt, make a special wraith for an aspect?

If anything, I think they would, and should, have walking batteries. Massive gun wraiths, wraiths covered tip to toe with rapid fire weaponry, etc
>>
>>62765685
...Good point. Maybe they're a rumor/local legend and a part of the SS black project/budget for some reason?

"The Mists are full of Scorpions"

"A temple is built on strong foundations and faith"

"Our suffering is the fire with which we forge with. Humility our quench. And Discipline our Hammer."

Last bump before bed

So have we decided is Driag-nhal has landed/orbited a planet? Or does it have an oribiting 'Moon'?
>>
>>62766330
Wynaut both? A part of the orbiting craftworld could have broken off and landed in the exodite cities, forcing the Aspect Warriors and the Artisan families to work together to suppress the unleashed horrors, which could be where the respect for SS comes from, but I still think having a SS wraithknight isnt really, a great idea
>>
If we want a long ranged Avatar, but not guns, why not a bow? Why not a spear? Or a rope dart? Or a chain whip?

Also, another scheme
>>
>>62766899
I like this one the most.
>>
Posting it here since it's more active:

Maybe Alandis and the Glimmering King -the Tyrant she killed- should have some sort of rivalry (as much as you can be rival with a Tyrannid).
We have already discussed the fact that he evolved his characteristic "Helmet" after his defeat against Alandis, precisely because of the way he was slay back then.
It could be very cool to have them have this kind of duallity; the Tyrant having identified Alandis as a treath, and Alandis hoping to make a miracle again against the now stronger Tyrant.
>>
>>62766899
This is the best color scheme so far. And we do not need a ranged fucking avatar, that's verging too far into snowflake territory.

Exploration of Driag-Nahl Pleasure Ship/ Core of the Craftworld
>Here speaks Kaz'Tun and this ship is fascinating and yet confusing at once

>The architecture and plating all look as if they we're hued out of one piece or as if this is all just "grew naturally"
>unlike any human made vessels has this no wires that lie around, no rust, no damages that have been "repaired"
>it was just pristine from what I have seen and yet is this place strange
>hundreds of traps and sensors everywhere doors that have been wielded shut and most rooms contain rows upon rows of armaments
>even replacement traps and something akin to "repair tools" for the turrets I think
>Patrols around every corner that I could avoid.
>Most of them consisting of these "snipers" with camo cloaks that are being lead by a figure in a different coloured cloak
>A bit rare where those with the helmet mounted guns and chainblades but still there where many who guarded this place
>Where they searching for me? I didn't know nor did I care.
>And then there is this pulsing purple light that comes from the walls
>it reminds me of a heartbeat of something big and asleep as if the Ship is in a coma of sorts
>Still I could progress deeper down via a mix of using maintenance tunnels and the ventilation system
>I was suprised I could even fit through those with my armour
>And then there are these "secret passages"?
>sometimes did I find hidden switches that opened into maybe forgotten tunnels?
>I use the word maybe a lot because I am not sure in some instances what the purpose of these tunnels are
>some have windows that look into unused rooms with strange machinations others are just leading to more corridors or out into the main tunnels.
>But I don't care for I am advancing further down

So we have quite a bit down on Khaine. And Vaul with their worship.

Menehidon Bladewhisperer

A unique entity among Driag-Nahl, and even among Eldar in general. He is one of the rare individuals who have walked away from the Path of the Warrior. He was almost in position and far enough along that many beleived he would become an Exarch of the Fire Dragons.

Nowadays he does not speak much and prefers his quiet life with his family, working in the families ancestral forge alongside his father and grandfather crafting blades of various make for requests and the military.

How do you think the Harlequins are seen? Nuisances? Fun guys?

Cegorach is The Laughing God. Vaul is a god of forge and industry and creation. The two are opposed, but not overly so. Perhaps they still give him lip service. A day of revelry, similar to halloween. Tricks, treats, harvests, orgies. It's a time for the normally hard working to let loose and have a little fun. Celebrate the year/decade/century of work they have done. Show off their greatest works. They wear masks - everyone of course makes their own. Wether a goldsmith, a blacksmith, a tailor, a bone singer..all make their own masks to show off their craft.
>>

Chain whip, basically a spear point on a chain, Castlevania style.
>>
>>62771746

They let the harlies come in then? Perhaps to put on plays and tell their stories, trade, etc. Then when the festivities are done they head out and don't return until the next - perhaps taking with them some of the less crafty young Eldar who are more suited to a different life. There just isn't a 'permanent' place for them within the Craftworld.

>THE CIRCUS IS IN TOWN MAN
>>
>House Cahlith, the Swordsworn

>House Cahlith are universally outcasts in the Craftworld, being the only house that worships Khaine in a Craftworld largely dedicated to Vaul. It is said that that Shash'Cahlith Sensurín, the site of the house, led the charge into the depths of the Host of Dreams, keeping the horrors at bay in the early years of the fall and their slave rebellion. Regardless of such a noble lineage, House Cahlith quickly became enamoured with war and its patron god, seeing their crafts less like necessary tools to protect their kin, like many other artisan houses, but as dedications to Khaine and Vaul, fulfilling Vaul's promise of blades to Khaine. When the ramshackle Craftworld caught orbit of its host planet, the house remained aboard with the Aspect temples, filling whole halls with horded weapons in sprawling shrines to the Bloody Handed God. They rarely leave the Craftworld save to wage war or to accompany Aspect Warriors in battle.
>>
>>62772722

>>
>>62772722
There is a particularly strongly held belief/prophesy among House Cahlith for telling that Khaine shall regain his honor for the slaying of Eldanesh during the darkest/direst hour of the Eldar. His hands shall no longer bleed and all the shards shall be reunited into one. Many see this as the mad ravings of worshippers of the Bloody Handed

>House Fændrýn, the Chainbreakers

>The oldest "clan" of Driag-Nahl, House Fændrýn predates the fall of the Eldar as a family name, as they were the logistical center for all other slave artisans, serving as heads of house for their collective masters. They were disgusted with their masters cruelty and degenerate behavior, seeing them as honourless dandies. When the fall of the empire was nigh, Asurdan Fændrýn the head of house called for munity, and in the slave revolt took the pleasure ship Host of Dreams. Unfortunately he did not foresee the horrors trapped within, but his single act of courage and leadership was the birth of the Eldar of what would become Draigh-Nahl. The House is now venerated as leaders and generals, with a keen eye for quality and a mastery of fine detail. In recent memory the Autarch, Alandis Kingslayer, hails from this lineage, and watches over the maiden world and orbiting craftworld with a watchful eye. While the house is largely stationed planet side, many continue to rule, work, serve, and fight in Draigh-Nahl proper, alongside the manic Swordsorn of House Cahlith. Between the two houses, they comprise the majority of the Aspect Temples, and while the Swordsworn worship them, and the rest of the houses fear or loath them, those of Fændrýn have a grim understanding of their Aspect Warriors, and those who dedicate themselves to a temple are given ceremonial funerals to mark their passing into a War Mask.

You should rewatch the action scenes in Rambo 2, 3 and the fourth one especially in 2 where he took the m60 just to mow everything down with one hand and in the fourth where he get's into the turret section but okay I see your point that he mostly operates with knives, arrows, explosives and whatever he can reach and the movies are more about the horrors of war and what it does to the people involved.
Now back to the topic and my point is that giving the Avatar a gun is kind of disrespectful towards Khaine.
Because the Avatar is already badass.
He is The Eldar God of War a walking talking Vulcano on two legs who carrys a sword the size of a tank and who knows how to masterfully wield it.
To bling him out to honour him is okay giving him more variety in his choice of melee weapons is also okay but giving him a gun is an insult because this would be the same thing the BL writers would do to make it believable that he couldn win.
It just appears to me that you guys don't think that he can do this without help or without an "upgrade" which hurts me in the soul a bit because you guys also wanted him to be badass so badly,
You want the Avatar to show that he is no pushover, that Khaine is not a fucking sandsack that people can use to let some steam off.
But this is like giving him cheatcodes because you guys started also to believe that he is a pussy which is fucking sad.
The Avatar shouldn't need a Cheatcode he doesn't need an upgrade he is already Khaela Mensha motherfucking Khaine and he is already good enough for the job.

>House Beleháthorn, the Emberswift

>It took a certain amount of insanity to buck from the reigns of an immensely powerful fiefdom, especially in a time where unity was needed the most, but it took true brazen foolhardiness too not only steal their prized pleasure ship, but fly it away in the second most devastating warp Storm ever convinced, only being overshadowed by the Cicatrix Maledictum. To this end, Asurdan Fændrýn recruited a band of pirates, rakes, rastabouts, and swindlers to claim and sail the Host of Dreams. While technically part of the artisans, most were menial labourers serving as indentured servants in the face of debts or judicial punishment. However a fair portion had a great deal of mechanical prowess in their own right, relishing in getting the best performance out of flyers and bikes, as any good pirate or daredevil ne'er-do-well would. When they begrudgingly agreed to escape their bonds alongside the other bound artisans and workers, they quickly found themselves dealing with more than they bargained for. Daemons and bizarre abominations in the lower reaches of the sprawling ship broke out in hideous skirmishes, and the ship itself had controls that bordered on madness, purpose built for some orchestra of flesh crafted wretches. Never the less, the criminal scum and racer mechanics brought their fellows to safety, and earned a place of honour in the burgeoning craftworld. In time they bonded over common ancestry, as well as temperament and interest, into a house to match all the others.

House Gilfaruin, the Seekers

A House that found it's beginnings during the middle years of the Middle Layer construction. Enamored by the ruins and lost treasures of the First Layer and tales of adventure by the Rangers, the House began it's journey to seek out the new and old across the Craftworld and beyond.

They are seen in a rather neutral light by most of the denizens of Driag-Nahl. Their seeming fixation on artifacts puts them at odds with the future driven Artisans.

Many members of House Gilfaruin join the Rangers at least once in their lives and just as many return now and again to seek the unknown.

They operate many museums, libraries and the like all over the Craftworld for all to take in the wonders of the past.

It is their view that they need to have an understanding of the past to make a strong footing for the future and not to simply go forward blindly.
>>
>>62776601
Thus came House Beleháthorn, outriders, ace pilots, and rogues. Over time they took in Corsairs and exiles from elsewhere, and developed a fondness for traps such as mines and more...simple measure, especially when deployed by a speeding jet bike. Beleháthorn is characterized by razor sharp humour and a wry, sardonic nature, often taunting those caught in their traps, or struggling to keep up in a dogfight. It's often rumored as an open secret that the house worships Cegorach, but any Eldar from the house will tell you that they are ardent worshipers of Vaul, same as anyone. They consider his trick he pulled on Khaine proof that he has a sense of humour, or at the very least that he's clever, and the fact that he challenged him at all marks him as a rebel to admire. Of all the houses, Beleháthorn has the best relationship with other Eldar, as they don't view Dark Eldar and Corsairs as reckless degenerates, or Harlequins as feckless annoyances, but rather all as kindred spirits.
>>
>>62776793
House Gilfaruin is characterized by their eccentric and analytical personalities. Many find this odd with how deep and even intrusive they can get when uncovering/discovering something new. Have gained a notable reputation as sleuthes and even thieves for their raids on human controlled worlds to recover artifacts both Eldar and Human if they are found to be interesting enough. But they'd never steal from an Eldar, only to recover what they as a species have lost or their Dark Kin even.

>House Ynos, the Songsmiths

>In many lesser houses Eldar will apprentice in houses with greater influence or power, mostly houses with a great and successful population of Paths. Aspiring militia leaders will beseech the warriors of Fændrýn for tutelage in the Path of Command, minor scholars will seek out House Gilfaruin for mentorship in the Path of the Seer, or the Dreamer, or even in navigating the perils of the Outcast. Beleháthorn serves a vital role in that regard, offering just enough discipline to keep Outcasts from falling to darkness, with rough and ready advice paired with relentless banter helping the lost find their true calling, lest they be forced to endure further heckling. Ynos is an extremely important house for this purpose, as it has one of the largest concentrations of the Path of the Artisan and the Path of the Seer, specifically Bonesingers. Ynos will take any and all Eldar, and attempt to turn frivolous artistic whims into practical weaponsmithy and lasting construction. Ynos has the greatest number of Bonesingers, all of whom are cantankerous craftsmen and fastidious engineers, to say nothing of their tremendous skill as psykers. The vast bulk of Draigh-Nahl infrastructure is a direct consequence of coordinated Ynos action, or built according to their teachings.

House Caeraseth, the Star Farers

>In times of yore when Driag-Nahl was just beginning there was a need of protection not simply from within, but without. The need of a Navy became paramount after numerous attacks by primitives humans and various Xenos that managed to stumble upon them. While Driag-Nahl's defenses were strong, they were quite preoccupied with constructing the first and even the Middle Layers while fending off the Abominations from the Host of Dreams.
>House Caeraseth originated from the slave mariners, sailors and even some guards that joined the rebellion against their masters during the Fall. It was they who were called upon to forge Driag-Nahl's First Navy and set the foundations for the rest to come, for as Driag-Nahl grew it would need more and more to defend it.
>Not simply for defense, the fleet(s) would also be used repeatedly in search and destroy missions guided by the Rangers nad Seers to strike down any enemies that could potentially rise up and cause harm to the hiding Craftsmen.
>While not as warlike as House Cahlith, House Caeraseth is nonetheless a more aggressive house. They will seek no less than the eradication of those that would do harm to their fellow Driag-Nahlans.
>It is they who High Admiral Gallion the Sailor descends from, along with a number of ancestors who have held the title and rank. It is commonly joked that the members of House Caeraseth live more on their warships than the Craftworld it self. but few take such a joke seriously, for House Caeraseth fights tooth and nail for their home and people.

>House Isdrandrad, the Felhammers

>House Isdrandrad is comparatively new House, even Beleháthorn has cultural roots predating the fall of the empire. Isdrandrad represents the changing of fortune for Draigh-Nahl, and a symbol of their emergant power as well as a praise of Vaul. The house is not without darkness, as its ranks also serve as reminders of the fallen. Isdrandrad is the house of Titans, and the ghost warriors. When the craftworld expanded and began to explore more material rich environments, the Eldar suddenly had the opportunity to expand their forge capabilities. As certain areas of the ship were still dangerous, warp rifts raged still in sealed confines, and fleshwarped creations still stalked the depths of the orignal pleasure craft, both on a scale that outstripped the mere infantry of the forge masters. But with greater infrastructure, the craftworld began to magnify their lethality tenfold with the advent of Titans, and recoup their loses with Wraith Knights and Wraithguard. As if blessed by Vaul and Isha, the fresh generation of infant Aeldari saw a significant amount of twin and triplet births, hailing the turning of the tide and vindicating the titansmiths. This became known as the Comet Year, and that generation of steermen and warriors the Giantborn. The Giantborn trained from infancy to pilot their destined titans, led and tutored by the ghost warriors, their slain descendants. The day they were trained and ready to stride into battle, the crusades to take back sections of the ship commenced, the artisan houses sweeping through sections of the ship now accompanied by the might of a new generation, and the grim vengeance of those that passed. Short but bloody, the ship was made more habitable and secure, allowing for growth within, and without the craftworld.

>Tight confines and strange geometry prevented a great deal of progress beyond the initial battles, and these occult climes of the Host of Dreams are still fought and won (and lost) by the Aspect Warriors, Chainbreakers, and Swordsworn that rule the orbiting craftworld. For their swift and decisive victory, the titan clade earned the title Felhammers, and together the Ghost Warriors and Titan steermen formed a house around their Giantborn leader, Isdrandrad Thel'Dyrd. A great deal of effort was made to accommodate and arm the new house, and when they made planetfall the house claimed a mighty mountain range with which to house their engines.

They made a name for themselves during and after the Fall by providing the means of transporting people and goods in record time unto the Host of Dreams. >House Kyr-Mëanas the Wayforgers

>The twisting non euclidean halls and shifting decks and sensory hellscapes of the Host of Dreams cost the freed eldar as much life as fleeing the Fallen Masters and the psychic scream of Slaanesh. Daemons flooding the ships divided groups of eldar, driving them further in, never to be found. Or they were interceded by the Fallen Master's grotesque toys, and befell a fate nearly as dreadful as that of She Who Thirsts. Hiding in tight formations was hardly better, as they only made themselves bigger targets for both the daemons and grotesques. As the eldar gained ground the craftworld began to experience growing pains, and it wasn't enough to simply wait out the unending daemon onslaught or the most likely still produced flesh beasts. The dark frontier needed to be pushed back, a home made from hell. It was not enough to eke out a miserable living while simply delaying annihilation. As their numbers thinned, a mate pair, Kyr Thuldn and Lyian Mëanas, took a hunting party and a coven of seers with the intention of never returning. As the Eldar they left behind stockpiled a staggering amount of weaponry in preparation for their extinction, the raiding party tore a dark and bloody path across the ship, sacrificing seers to seal warp rifts, sacrificing warriors to slay foul brood mothers of the twisted flesh constructs. They were ruthless, fatalistic, and efficient, and the genesis of Draigh-Nahl's fondness for traps and mines, even before the pyrotechnics of Beleháthorn. Mines, spike traps, poisoned caltrops, hallways with snipers at the end, blades in the night. Craftsmanship came in handy indeed in forging cruel implements of surprise death. After a time the onslaughts slowed, the fabric of reality stabilizing within the ship as it became more like a craftworld and less like a Space Hulk, give or take structural cohesiveness and comfort.

Happy Halloween, fellow craftworlders!

I was wanting to hold this off untill we had a strawpoll or something to hammer out what was "canon" or not for Driag-Nahl, but due to the success with the Hive Fleet Atlas crossover I figured that now was a good of a time as any to introduce the two Drukari factions that have, to varying degrees, played havoc with our poor aeldari.

https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Dark_Eldar_Kabal_Creation_Tables

Now a few as these have already been decided by our little circle jerk, what with both of them pre-dateing the Fall and all that, so we probably don't have too roll for all. However I want to know how you guys think we should do this; do we make a new thread focusing on these Kabals? Keep them in this one to prevent confusion? Both, with the Allied in this thread and the Opposing in a new one?

As always, keep it real.

>That hunt ensured the security and growth for centuries to come. The craftworld that came years later was only possible because of the precious moments provided by Kyr and Lyian. The fate of that party was unknown, until later parties delved into depths. They were dead to a man. Their bodies and soul stones found atop a great funeral mound of slain wretches, scaring of the battlefield signs to legions of banished daemons. Gunlines and minefields shredding the enemies of the Eldar. Trapped, out numbers, discovered, but not out witted, the hunting party went out in a blaze of glory. The only identifiable remains were those of Kyr and Mëanas, their armour melted and smouldering as they evidently detonated a grenade array. When peeled apart their spirit stones were fused, not broken, but unable to interface with the newly established Infinity Circuit. The Spiritseers detect that their souls are whole, miraculously, but the stones themselves are damaged and unable to be released. They were trapped together for eternity, and the rest of the party's stones were shattered or no doubt taken as playthings by Daemons. To honour their sacrifice, a house of the swift, clever, fatalistic, and vengeful was erected, to pierce the veil and illuminate the unknown, to forge a path for the rest of the Craftworld, and line the way back with death for anyone else. Beleháthorn is a half way house for the lost and undecided, but Kyr-Mëanas is the home for the Path of the Outcast. Other houses dabble in the Path, but Kyr-Mëanas is immersed in it, welcomed exiles, cut off from the craftworld they live in, just like the soul stone of their spiritual forebears. This delicate position of ritual distance was the leading factor in the integration of the Striking Scorpions, as the Stalking Mists temple was founded planetside with the house, one of the few aspect temples to leave the confines of the Craftworld proper.

>House Ynneadandra, the Anvilthanes

>Draigh-Nahl has dozens of houses, the descendants of specific artisan disciplines or sections of carved out pleasure ship, or genealogical lines. But there are those of note, House Fændrýn is that of leadership, Cahlith is that of Khaine in a Craftworld of Vaul, but these are mostly granular distinctions within a varied, mostly homogeneous people. However if there is a style of combat others associate most strongly with the steadfast Aeldari, it is massively overwhelming firepower, delivered from afar, and frequently. The Fallen Masters reveled in destructive weaponry in wars of fancy, as much as they enjoyed sensual pleasure. To this end the Eldar slaved away making legions worth of weapons of the most extraordinary sort. When Asurdan Fændrýn convinced the slaves to use their tools and crafts to earn their freedom, these weapons were turned against their masters in hilarious fashion. Many other houses, or the foundations of new ones, could claim a heavy hand in the success of Draigh-nahl, but none will contest that without the big guns, none of this would be possible. Firepower broke the chains, firepower won the Host of Dreams, firepower kept it, and firepower guards its. The Driag-Nahl cultural doctrine is built on supremacy of violence just as much as guile, and the prevalence of large weaponry is the heart of their industry. The vast swath of artillery, tanks, and heavy weapons simply acted as infantry until the confines of the ship made answering the sexual monstrosities, both of the warp and eldar science, with thunderous combat unreasonable (not to say it wasn't always considered the first option). So as doctrinal lines were being drawn as tactical darwinism took root, and houses were solidified as a matter of culture, it became clear that a space for the canons and lances was needed.

>So one of the more destructive frontline commanders, Yhuric Bloodthunder, begrudgingly became the father of the House of Firepower. This name was radically unpopular for decades, and it wasnt until his son Yhurin took command and reformed what was quickly becoming a massive gange of pyromaniacs and gun toting berserkers into a regimented and well drilled militia that it was given a proper name. House Ynneadandra, named after the God of death and the Eldar apocalypse. His father claimed it was one of the few times he was proud of his son, as it was not as awful as he was anticipating. He died shortly thereafter when a Grotesque managed to sneak into his estate and kill him in his sleep. This prompted a five year destructive campaign from Ynneadandra, which saw Yhurin adopt many of his father's more surly mannerisms. Yhurin heads the house to this day, the oldest Eldar in the entire Craftworld, his guidance and knowledge invaluable to Exarchs and Autarchs alike, for those that withstand his brusque and bombastic nature. Ynneadandra is well disciplined and controlled, relying heavily on weapon and vehicle forges to fulfill their tactical needs. Because of this, they venerate Vaul to the extreme, despite their destructive capacity, although they pay lip service to both Lileath and Khaine to ensure their rounds meet their marks, and that they're battles are well won.

>>62774243
House Fændrýn, the Chainbreakers. Generals, leaders, and heroes, the backbone of the craftworld fighting force. Heavily leans on the Path of Command, and the Warrior. Provide many warriors to the aspect temples, but most are Dire Avengers. Ardent followers of Vaul as a hero and martyr, with strong devotion to Asuryan as the divine ruler.

>>62772722
House Cahlith, the Swordsworn. Fanatics, zealots, and berserkers. Nearly exclusively bladesmiths as they built armaments for the Avatar and for the glory of Khaine. Is the main defense for the Craftworld proper. They embrace the Path of the Warrior, Service, and Artisan, with many subscribing to Grief. Surrender countless warriors to the Aspect Temples, nearly all Banshees.

>>62776601
>>62776815
House Beleháthorn, the Emberswift. Daredevils, mercenaries, and outriders, in any other context they would be ruthless pirates. All Eldar of Draigh-Nahl are expected to be craftsmen, so the craftsmen of Beleháthorn make things that go fast or explode. They are mostly Outcast, but Warrior, Mariner, and Merchant prevent the house from descending into chaos. Another regulatory measure is Aspects as punishment, with those that cross the line becoming Shining Spears, Swooping Hawks, and Crimson Hunters. They pray to Vaul like a Guardsman prays to Sly Marbo, but their true religion is with Ceogorach, if at all.

>>62778018
House Ynos, the Songsmiths. Largely Bonesingers, Ynos builds and fortifies, akin the Imperial Fists. The Paths of Artisan and Command are crucial here for construction. Few of this house go to the Aspects, and they all worship Vaul as their spiritual leader and paragon builder.

House Isdrandrad, the Felhammers. Titans, Walkers and Ghost Warriors, the venerated war engines of the craftworld. Because of their undeath or role as steermen or pilots, Aspects Warriors from this house are unheard of, and their Paths are rigid.

>>62781355
>>62782095
House Kyr-Mëanas the Wayforgers. Scouts, recon units and trap masters, the house is universally Outcast. The Temples serve as a terminus should they stray from the path too far, and most go to the Striking Scorpions, Warp Spiders and Shadow Spectres, adapting their stealthy combat style with ease. They worship Vaul for his ingenuity and perseverance, as well as his role as weapon maker, but Kurnous is a primary God as well.

>>62782382
>>62782473
House Ynneadandra, the Anvilthanes. The tactical heart of Draigh-Nahl, artillery, heavy weapons teams, tanks, and support weapon platforms, Ynneadandra doctrine is prevalent throughout the Craftworld. While Warrior and Command paths are given, considering their martial nature, Seer and Dreamer are also extremely common, using psychic blasts as munitions, and foresight to ensure payloads and salvos are as accurate as possible, ensuring victory. Aspect Temples are used both as punishment and rites of passage, many gunners going to Fire Dragons, Shadow Spectres, and Dark Reapers, the use of large weaponry making for ideal synergy. Despite their warrior culture, they are staunch and orthodox followers of Vaul, making as many weapons as Vaul did swords. Lileath is also given prayer, to guide their hands, eyes, sights and rounds with sight beyond sight. Khaine is given the bare minimum of worship to prevent drawing his ire.
>>
>It was once said by a human warlord, "Ask not the Eldar a question, for they will give you three answers, all of which are true, and horrifying to know." In Draigh-Nahl, ask not the Aeldari a question, for we will answer with the ring of a thousand hammers, the roar of ten thousand cannons, and the pure silence of the grave.

That's all I can really think of for houses, I don't really know what more I can do on that front.

Think of it this way, if a medium power comes over and fights us the way we like to be fought, we can match or even overpower them. This was most clearly shown when the Iron Warriors honestly thought such a small force would be able to take us down. But since we are so defensive in nature and small in number, we will never really project more than a minor level of power in the wider galaxy, especially compared to craftworlds like Ulthwe or Saimhann.

Well we know the Origin of the Allies, being pre-Fall Nobles that fled to Commoragh

Demeanour roll
>>
>>62786316
Wouldn't it make more sense for them to be the enemies? Maybe both are true, and the enemy coven are the remains of the Fallen Masters, and our allies are slaves that broke to freedom independently, or broke off from the Host of Dreams, or were seemingly lost?
>>
>>62786406
No. The "Enemy" Kabal were a rival House to the Fallen Masters.

I'm going out to lunch so I won't be back for some time
>>
>>62786483
That doesn't make any sense, if anything we would be allies in that case
>>
>>62786576
They hate both us and the Fallen Masters Kabal with the intensity of a Supernova.
>>
>>62786661
That doesnt make a lot of sense either, it just feels super contrived, I can't parse the reasoning behind it
>>
>>62786858
The idea was that all three came from the same Croneworld and that the allied Kabal ruled over the Croneworld and was backed up by a slave industry (the CWE of Driag-Nahl) for arms production (which explains why they are so good at it) while the major house had the soldiers which they either use to defend the croneworld or support the War in Heaven.
Meanwhile was the major house not the only family on the Croneworld who wanted to rule it all.
These "lesser houses" who most likely consisted of lower nobility or outsiders who wanted a piece of this Croneworlds riches tried staging a rebellion against the ruling house and even engage in open warfare against them which always failed thanks to the soldiers being well trained and their gear being of very good quality.
This resulted in the "lesser houses" to understand that the Slaves where also a reason why they couldn't succeed so they swore to kill them too if they manage to destroy the ruling house.
And in the middle of the most promising fight against the ruling house (where many of it's officers and nobels went into the webway to have a "party") did the Fall happen and the lesser houses decided that surviving is better than being dead and so they ran to Commorragh.
And there did they find the surviving members of the ruling house who have also escaped to Commorragh which resulted in both factions to fight eachother an endless war in the streets.
The motivation that the "lesser houses" now have is that they want to end what they started on the Croneworld and at least get revenge for being denied to become the rulers of that world by killing both the Driag-Nahl and the members of the former ruling house.

Log of Warsmith Kaz'Tun
Exploration of Driag-Nahl Pleasure Ship/ Core of the Craftworld
>Here speaks Kaz'Tun and by Perturabos eternal fucking migrane producing obsession for hating Rogal Dorn fuck this shit
>I already though that there would be something awful down here but I didn't think that it would be that bad
>I understand now why the Xenos are guarding this Ship almost as heavily as the outside
>is this what the Xeno meant with " I will perish before I even see the Ships true nature"? Damn Xeno nonsense
>The explanation for my thoughts is simple I got attacked but not by the Xenos nor by some ship internal system
>It was after I descended further down into the ships bowels that I came into a crossway, two ways where sealed
>the third lead back and the way forward was into a hallway with huge quantitys of easily spotted flamer traps
>I decided to go forward and be done with it and almost got roasted on some spots just because of the sheer amount of flamers in there
>And then did I find the "garden deck"?
> the door leading there was destroyed and plants grew into the hallway which explains it's defenses
>I went inside and found a jungle that was similar to the one "outside" except this one looked more "primal"
>The jungle outside wasn't like this it looked as if someone took care of it and refined it with traps everywhere but still pleasent
>But this jungle here reminded me of some of the storys I have heard from that Catachan place only more"Eldar'ish"
>There are huge trees filled with colorfoul and most likely poisonous blossoms but underneath some of them are Gazebos for hundreds of Xenos
>There are lakes filled with a bubbling and fizzing red liquid that are sorrounded by small harbours with little sailboats made of metal
>casual beauty was mixed with strangeness and my curiosity for it lead to me getting ambushed

This would be right at home in a Black Library book. Likely written by Goto.

In a perfect world the enemy coven would be the degenerate remains of the Fallen Masters. Having them be some...disconnected former enemy of slave masters that no longer exist...then shifting that rivalry to their slaves, that actively killed and campaigned against them...I can't be the only one seeing how dumb that is. Its needlessly contrived. Having their greatest enemies be the remains of their former masters is an immediate and impactful threat. Some rando elf clan that's asshurt that DN got off the planet in time is going to find a message if they ever try to claim """"revenge"""", and it's going to spell "Fuck Off Retards" in Fire Prism volleys.

They would be this bizarre third party nuisance that the DN would have no true interest in battling other than defense or to make them fuck off. Meanwhile, having the Fallen Masters be the main antagonists creates instant drama and stakes. The FM referring their enemies as property, their whole legacy owned by them. That and DN now has a present reason to not sit on the couch all day and tinker. Their former masters are alive, and want them back. Now it's not enough to simple be free and survive, its time for vengeance.

It's just unnecessary, and I very much so doubt a party of marines would survive the home of Aspect Warriors and fanatics
>>

The Salamanders did pretty well for themselves on Commoragh, at least for a while.
>>
>>62789817
What is your deal? And it was several Chapters worth of Marines, hundreds of thousands of mortals, and numerous vehicles backed by a Fleet. And it was a Chaos force to top it off. If anything they would do better than a single Chapter against a Craftworld.
>>
>>62789890
Was Chaos rolled on the table for enemies?
>>
>>62790065
No. We just brought them up as an invader some time after M38 when DN was revealed and then had to fend off numerous attackers.

Why are you choosing this hill to die on?
>>
>>62790135
Because its needless, and marineshit is gay. I could ask you the same you know.
>>
>>62789817
It was an idea that was discussed that even the IW would have problems taking this over and it was part of a Grand company not just a party who tried to invade and got roflstomped for underestimating the Eldar.
The last member of the army is the Warsmith who just survived by being lucky and is testing his luck further by trying to taking over the pleasure ship and it's kind of a way to flesh out the interior of that deranged Ship.
>>62789666
Well that idea is good and all but here is the problem.
Why should they then even try to have an alliance with the Drukhari?
If the fallen masters are the enemy what reason should they have to even think that Commorragh could be of any help if they know that thanks to the Drukhari that these bastards are still alive?

One of the biggest problems with these /tg/ Your Dudes projects is that one or two faggots go FAR too OC Donut Steel with it and it just ruins the whole thing, like the Sanguine Shields. A ranged Avatar is one of those aspects (ha).
>>
>>62790938
I feel this project has steered very well clear of that. Apart from Pimp My Avatar, the only thing I would nitpick was the fact that we supposedly only lost about twelve people in the Iron Warriors invasion. That's a step too far, because a taskforce of marines is going to cause big damage no matter who they go up against.

Overall, I fucking love Driag-Nahl.
>>
>>62790987
Have a little more time before I go.

DN had:
-A fair amount of time to evacuate people due to sensors/the Fleet
-The Craftworld degfenses
-Millennia of preperations and traps
-Not engaging unless they had absolute certainty of success
-Whittled down the IW forces with traps/defenses over several days
-and then unleashed hell once they were weakened enough
-Fought on their home turf, that they knew like the back of their hands
12 may seem ridiculous but they'd have really low fatalities in general.
>>
>>62791065
None of that changes the fact that a space marine is worth multiple guardians, perhaps even multiple aspect warriors in a fight, and that the Iron Warriors in particular are siege specialists. That story was also being told in something of a light-hearted manner, so I don't take the Eldar casualty figure too seriously anyway.
>>
So the craftworld theme music is straight up Welcome to the Jungle, right?
>>
>>62782790
>be Driag-Nahl Swooping Hawk/Shining Spear
>have to race to engage the enemy before the guns and traps wipe them out
>it's become something of a competition at this point
>enemies are surprised at how joyous the warriors they're fighting seem to be
>>
>>62791180
I would have rather said that they lost many squads during the ambushes when they attacked the backlines of the IW when they redirected them into an obstacle or a trap and maybe some of the tanks during the last assault on the main settlement.
From what I would have guessed did they at least lose 300-500 soldiers and maybe a few tanks too. But yeah who cares it's a bit tounge in cheeck and helped to kind of imagine what sort of set ups Driag-Nahl has in terms of defenses.

If it's a force that large, then Draigh-Nahl would have been irrevocably changed, not lost 12 men. Either way, pushing them to be a larger narritave thread than they need to be seems unnecessary, and smacks of a Your Dudes Microcosm, like the Scrap Lootas.

As for the DEldar, that's rather simple. Have the crone world be wracked with civil war. When the Fallen Masters regain control, those who were pushed out seek out the Chainbreakers, the rebel forge masters of Dragh-Nahl. From there an alliance of convenience grows into a genuine allyship. That or they're pirates or slavers or gladiators that the Fallen Masters slighted, and now they seek recompense. Then the same story unfurls.

Hey actually this give me a idea:
The Draigh-Nahl where the slave worker, but they weren't the only slave under the Fallen Master whip. The lower ranks of their army, the gladiators who died for their pleasure, the pilots they strapped to overtuned racing ships to see if they can make it trough the local system under a CRAZY trajectory. All those people where only treated marginaly better than the Chainbreaker -and sometimes worse-

Then the fall came, and the Masters where somewhat busy in their little orgy in the Web and when they where told "Yeah the slave are revolting, go die defending our ship from them while the world is ending and we skullfuck a alien or something" they simply gave them the finger and fled in the Webway, figuring the Master had no intention to die, so going where they are was a good idea.

Nowday they survive in Commoragh, and when they found their "fellow" slave of Draigh-Nahl, they where more than happy to strike a alliance of convenience (at least) to shit over the Fallen Master.

Sorry it took so long. Traffic, the dealership, ran into a friend, went to dinner with said friend, then a bar, and now home.

What happened while I was gone?
>>
Okay I caught up.

The way I see it there is an obvious cultural shift as the Layers are built and people migrate further away and settle down.

Their are Four main periods of Driag-Nahl's existence:
Core Era during the very Fall and for a time after ward. They are fighting tooth and nail to hold back the horrors within the HoD. Work begins after enough stabilization to create the First Layer.

First Layer Era: Characterized by still much hardship as resources and lives are spent to put huge effort into the First Layer and close off the Core as much as possible. The first Biome Domes are made here to improve QoL by leaps and bounds. The first true military of DN begins here. Many Houses and the Artisan Culture flourish and develop here.

Second Layer Era: Characterized by the construction of 2L. More people leave 1L to help build and inhabit it. Population goes through a boom that lasts quite a while and the Artisan Culture truly takes hold. The 1L is largely abandoned to the military by the end and the Third Layer begins construction.

Third Layer Era: 3/4ths the way through construction they are discovered by Imperials ain M38, but they have become exceedingly efficient at this so some time after they finish. DN experiences a number of external invasions and an uptick of Core breaches putting them to the test.

How's this as a basic outline? You guys can add to it.

The Tanks fill more a heavy cavalry role and capable of filling the cracks of our battle lines with the artillery guys in charge of putting a round at the right place at the right time to make the counter charge/hammer most effective

The Sun Chariots base themselves off of a tale of Khaine in which he routed an entire army while out on his Chariot, Sun Chaser. He masterfully divided and trampled them with ease that the SC which to replicate everythime they battle.

The Baleful Eyes are based off a tale where Khaine eliminated his enemies from afar while not deigning to show his presence to them

Just read up. Yeah, apparently there's countless shrines. So what I'm thinking is.

Brazen Bulls, tank crew aspect, experts in armoured warfare, gives Imperial Armour and Earth Caste a run for their money.

Doom Slayers, warriors possessing massive axes and hammers and glaives, wading into battle in glorious, furious charges, leaving nothing behind but ruin.
>>
>>62809519
The DS sound like TEQs for the Eldar. They wear mini Wraith suits and carry weapons too powerful for regular Eldar, let alone AS to wield. Though Dark Reapers also use power armor but more to lift their weapons rather than swing.

TL Shuriken Pistols and a Witchblade
>>
>>62809660
I actually had dwarf slayers in mind. I'd have them bare chested and tattooed, if I could.
>>
>>62809519
Ehhh I don't feel that one description with the tank crew.
Wouldn't it be more fitting that they are former tank building artisans that know precisly how to use a tank because they studied it inside and out and maybe took it apart and put it back together just to know exactly how far they can push the tanks limits?
And Doomslayers are not very Eldar like they sound more like some group of Space Marines or Dwarfes
Why not turn them into a swordsmith specific aspect that is mostly used to fieldtest some new blade designs that a artisan house has produced?
>>

Swordmasters of Hoeth? Failed or minor Warlocks who fight more with swords than psychic powers

Maybe the Tankers could be mistaken for Aspect Warriors?

I feel like you're missing the point of what an aspect warrior does, and is.

The War Mask overrides their person. A Dire Avenger can go to temple, take on the mask, and take it off decades later and in their minds nothing would have really happened. The war mask protects the mind from the psychic horror or war, like seers do for regular eldar. Without it the eldar in the Aspect would be driven mad by the sheer sensory overload of being a competent Eldar soldier. You don't take off the mask after a long stretch of time and you are lost to the personality of the War Mask, becoming an Exarch.

It wouldn't matter how skilled of an artisan you were before the War Mask. Striking Scorpions aren't eldar who were exclusively sneaky in their normal life, a DN Scorp wouldn't be a bomb maker any more than Bull/Chariot would be a tank maker.

Aspects are there to kill people, not to field test weapons or make things. They're bigger murder autists than space marines.

A Brazen Bull would be good at tank warfare because that's what the Aspect does, not because of how good they are with tanks. A Dark Reaper isn't good with heavy weapons because they were in a previous life. A Dire Avenger isn't a model soldier because the warrior was a Guardian before coming to the temple, they are because of training and equipment.

As for the Doom Slayer comment, pic related. The guy threatened to kill the entire eldar race, and he almost killed half the eldar pantheon. Also this >>62772722, they could come almost exclusively from the house that actually worships Khaine.

>>62809872
An aspect that summons psychic weaponry would be very cool actually, and fit with the forge thing.
>>
>>62810032
So DS would be the Aspect Shrine closest to Khaine as a bloodthirsty murderer? Like the represent Khaine as he was trying to wipe out the Eldar due to the prophesy? Cause that sounds scary as fuck. Imagine your an Eldar and then you see a DS coming around the corner chasing your enemies, you almost feel the need to put the runner out of their misery before the DS get a hold of them.
>>
>>62810143
That was exactly my thought. They don't represent any specific style of combat, they don't mirror a story of Khaine felling an enemy with a certain weapon, or combating a foe a certain way.

The DS represent a promise fulfilled, the sheer cosmic threat of Khaine. They are the spirit of the Eldar extinction, they represent the murder of Eldanesh because of his refusal to serve Khaine.

They serve as a temple because of the edicts of Asuryan, and his ultimate authority over Khaine, though he would have struck at him given the chance. In a way, the Doom Slayers also symbollically serve in penance, serving the aeldari in war to atone for the shame of Eldanesh. In a way, they are Khaine's bloody hand, I suppose
>>
>>62809872
I like the idea of these Swordmasters Anon that fits well
>>62810032
Okay I got it a bit wrong with the tank crew and I admit that.
But I thought of them more of the guys who use the still in testing phase kind of blades that the artisans forged and they send these guys to stress test them in actual combat.
>>62810309

But I like the idea more that they are claymore wielding maniacs who just have a murderboner for everything and who basically remind the Aeldari that the universe still hates them and that it won't stop hating them until they are all dead.
>>
>>62810408
>>62810309
So they're the criminals and murders of DN given a chance of atonement? The mimic the punishment of Khaine to help cleanse themselves.

The swordmasters despite being AW probably did the whole sword/blade testing because they don't mind the new gear. And over time it became fact.
>>
>>62810514
Yeah that sounds reasonable and it being a punishment also sounds like a good idea too remind everyone too behave or you get to join the murderhobos who will most likely end up chained to a wall until a fight breaks lose and they are let free to turn some invaders into chunky salsa with added bones.
>>
>>62810811
During the IW invasion there were likely Khornate berserkers hitching a ride for a fight. They'd likely run into the Doom Slayers creating just a swathe of carnage with hacked and butchered bodies on both side.

Doom Slayers have no artistry to their fighting when compared o other Aspect Warriors.. No real skill but that of a savage beast that knows nothing else but killing.
>>
>>62810408
>But I thought of them more of the guys who use the still in testing phase kind of blades that the artisans forged and they send these guys to stress test them in actual combat.

They would use a normal Eldar, most like. Aspect Warriors are wasted on anything that isnt their preferred methods of warfare, and they would probably tell you to screw off if you directed them otherwise. Aspect warriors use the gear their aspect does, that's the point. Weapon testing could probably be a role of honour for exalted members of houses, if we want to make a big deal out of that. Might be cool.

>>62810514
Well this is 40k, so it has to be grimdark. Apprentices who fail to make a perfect weapon, an armourer who misses a strap, an engineer that accidentally uncouples something, sharpshooters who miss a shot, fathers who lose a son. Basically any melodramatic reason to throw your life away and become one of the single most hated beings amongst your people. Granted there would be seemingly legitimate reasons too, kinslaying, failure of the battlefield, poor (compared to the rest of the craftworld, not the rest of the galaxy, who is largely out classed in terms of craftsmanship) equipment quality resulting in performance loss, publicly shaming someone, etc.

Granted, we've established that in Draigh-Nahl, all the aspects are largely punitive in measure, or serve to save Outcasts from themselves, no one going to them unless they're compelled to or they have no where else to go in life. However I'm pretty sure we can make the Doom Slayers the greatest shame in DN, and the greatest honour for House Cahlith.

>>62810937
I can see it in my head:
>Eldar criminal already inducted into the DS
>Sitting in their cell waiting for the next call to be led out of their cell alongside thei inmates
>Led to the armory and equipped with aid into their armors
>Led into the transports that are modified to put on their war masks, savage aspects of Khaine roaring carved onto them
>Right before landing/deployment the masks come down and onto them
>Later the mask in destroyed and they look at the carnage around them as fellow DS and Berserkers are just scattered into bloody chunks across the field
>>
So we got enough on the DS. But what about the Tankers?
>>
>>62811718
I would call them Brazen Bulls, simply because I think it fits with the craftsman aspect of the craftworld, as well as the punitive and shameful connotations to the aspects.

Since the aspects use specific equipment, what tank would the aspect use?
>>
>>62811718
I have an idea maybe for those, what if they act like greasers?
You know arrogant, very rowdy and territorial because they think they are the best in the universe in blowing shit up and they have contests among each other on who has the best tank crew.
And they hassle the artisans into making the tanks better and or more pretty and demand that they are the first in line for repairs which always get's them in trouble with other warriors who need some maintenance and even other tank crews who want to be first in line.
But despite these flaws are these guys very good at using these tanks very aggressively to the point of making the artisans wonder how the vehicles can even survive the way they drive them.

Faenrion, The Wild Rider, Phoenix Lord of the Brazen Bulls

Records show he was born and raised on the Craftworld of Saim-Hahn. In his youth he was regarded as a fire eater even among the wild and raucus Wild Riders. His skill in vehicular piloting and combat grew to such that many regarded him as Saim-Hahn's champion. One day it was a joyous occasion as Asurmen, Phoenix Lord of the Dire Avengers nad first of the PL arrived on Saim-Hahn. He was said to be searching for a new disciple, and followed the rumors of Faenrion. Faenrion was ecstatic when he learned of Asurmen's proposal, he believed he was being held back by his Craftworld. He wished to travel more and explore and to gift his knowledge and skill to worthy students.

He agreed swiftly to Asurmen's request to become another of his pupils, learning the way of the Warrior and later acquiring his own Phoenix Armor which would enshrine his soul forevermore

This decent? The Warp Spiders may not have a PL but all the rest do, so I didn't want to make Faenrion a citizen of DN to cut back on snowflakeness, or would you guys prefer he was?
>>
>>62813575
Can't speak for the others but I think it's okay and that he comes from Saim-Hahn is not too far fetched I like the concept that this attitude is something that came with the contact with other Craftworlds and it makes DN feel less isolated.
>>
>>62813735
So the BB are more recent? And I guess SH would have a fairly large BB contingent.
>>
Honestly I don't thinks the DS should have a Phoenix Lord at all. They're in a sense the very manifestations of Khaine's rage other than the Avatar, they're pretty much mini Avatars. Anyone agree?
>>
>>62813984
Maybe we downgrade him into an exarch would that still work?
>>
>>62814071
DS Exarch... probably one of the saddest existences when you think about it. Forever lost to the Rage of Khaine. Never to return, their original personality is erased. They're pretty much chained up until unleashed like a rabid dog.
>>
>>62814153
I can imagine that this is the punishment for those who have done something rather unspeakable.
Maybe they opened a door during a HoD expedition and ran away like sissys and abandoned the other members of the patrol so that they save theire own worthless skin while the others died.
Or they killed in an accident dozens of Artisans in a failed test because they forgot to check something up.
That guy who becomes an DS Exarch must have fucked up badly to get that sentence
>>
>>62814242
Or they just decided to lose themselves from guilt or it was just too much for them?
>>
>>62814291
So for basic equipment the DS are kitted similar to Striking Scorpion Exarch for their regular dudes. They got a two handed power/chainsword cor cleaving through infantry/tanks and got mandiblasters for simple cheap ranged ability. At least they got something to use, and heavy armor to ensure they wont die in one round to lasguns.
>>
>>62813575
Appearance ot ot his Tank/Vehicle:
>Helmet more a biker hlmet with a face a mix of Aspect Warrior faceplate and Aviator shades
>Torso looks like a leather jacket with maybe tassels
>In general has a biker look
>Cowboy boots
>Mix this with the Eldar battle suit
>>
>>62813059
I think Beleháthorn would be a little more free spirited than this, and I think Aspects are too much of a taboo for a kid to want this.

>>62813575
I like that he isn't of Draigh-Nahl, good call. And not too crazy, just the guy that was the best at what he did. Good job.

We still need to settle on what the tank of choice for the BB is though, since Aspects have highly regimented equipment.

>>62813771
I though all the Phoenix Lords were made around the same time?

>>62813984
>>62814071
>>62814153
>>62814242
>>62814291
I think the DS should get a Pheonix Lord, and he exists pretty much like the real Doom Slayer, I.E. Doomguy. His original craft world lost to battle, his real name lost to time, he would be a singular engine of destruction, nearly reaching the heights of an Avatar itself. And when in a portentous moment, he was lost to the Warp, sent by the will of Khaine himself to wage war against She Who Thirsts for all eternity.

>>62814358
I honestly don't think they should get ranged weapons. Axes, hammers, spears, glaives, great swords. Charge in, and destroy. Their ranged option is charging. Granted this is kinda shit against a gun line army, but if they get in touching range WHEW BOY, say good bye to units wholesale. Granted, this works great with a gun line craftworld, as the Slayers work as DISTRACTION CARNIFEXes, you get fucking slammed by the Bulls and artillery.
>>
>>62814850
True on Bel. They are pretty freespirited. The Sheines are more Penal Legions for DN.

I like the Doom Slayer PL. Pretty much the closest a mortal will ever get to Khaine, he's sometimes called the Herald of Khaine.

Good call on the DS with no ranged options. These guys are pretty powerful for AW and can RIP AND TEAR new orfices in an army if your not carfeul. And then the DS PL arrives and you can take DS as troop choices...

>>62814965
I don't know about making the BB greasers. I think they would be solemn and severe, like the tank crew in Fury. Crews wouldn't have individual personalities, but a sort of mind shared amongst the group, the crew acting as one
>>
I'm thinking Brazen Bulls aren't just tank crews, but Super Heavy Tankers, crewing true Engines of Vaul. Or maybe those are reserved for the Pheonix Lord and Exarchs, with the lesser Aspect Warriors piloting Wave Serpents and the like
>>
>>62816665
>>
>>62816665

>>
>>62816665
>>62819833
>>62816592
Not too sure on them being SH drivers. The SHs while powerful, are not the most mobile or versatile of the Eldar tanks. I see the BB for DN as amazing generalists that operate alongside any force they're deployed with. They fill the gaps and can rapidly respond to threats with enough speed, firepower and skill where it is needed. The SH act as artillery and Anvil, they hold the enemy oof from afar or eradicate them into hiding. Then the BB come swooping in and act as cavalry, breaking formations and taking them out after they rout.

I kind of like them being greasers/fighter jockeys/firebrands. The other AW are all pretty similar in temperament among them, and the BB being these smooth talking, fun having dudes tickles my fancy. But I like the Fury idea, they act as greasers out of the tank, but once the battle is joined they turn on a sort of hive mind effect with makes them the most perfect tank crews ever. They can operate perfectly with eachother.
>>
>>62820288
I kinda see where you're coming from with the assault armoured cavalry. It's all in the name, after all.

Then what's their battle tank?

This guided my hand when initially drawing the rune http://eldar.arhicks.co.uk/miscellaneous/eldar_runes.php I liked the original proportions, since they seemed more in line with Alatioc's big ass symbol, and the head to shaft ratio made it seem more like a warhammer than a smithing hammer, which I thought was neat

I like the idea of them being mini Khaine s. For color, standard Avatar colors but you can paint them however you want. For weapons we decided that Great Weapons are the way to go. Their means of defense is to kill the enemy before they are killed.

Not sure how you could make the FP better. They could be tougher with some sort coax gun. I stand by replacing the bubble cockpit on the turret. Maybe they'd have a Merkava a like tank for transporting a Five man team while killing armor
>>
>>62824020
Well aspects have specific colours with certain variations. But sure, standard avatar colours. Not sure how to model that though, so unless they start releasing Epic Avatars again...

>>62823950
I was thinking more enclosed (pic semi related) not less, and a more nuanced curve for the bottom of the hammer, less of an aggressive slope, like the rune I based the head off of.

>>62824261
Could they just be a FP aspect? There's nothing super special about the Shining Spears jet bikes, only the riders, right? Maybe they have a Microfillament weapon as well?
